‘Low-tech’ grandpa catches parents off guard sending texts about their baby

Grandparents are awesome. Everyone who got the chance to spend their childhood days by their side has to be a very lucky person. These people are full of wisdom and knowledge, and they can teach us a lot about the journey called life. What they enjoy the most is spending time with their grandchildren who they get to spoil rotten. We all know that whenever the parents say no, grandmas and grandpas are there to say yes.

David Waterhouse is a retired Dallas officer and a grandpa to an amazingly sweet baby named Ty. Besides being an awesome babysitter, this grandfather whom the family fondly calls “Pawpaw” has a great sense of humor. One thing he isn’t really good at is technology. In fact, he has no clue how to use the more advanced mobile phones or other devices which is sometimes the reason for his daughter and the rest of the family to have a good laugh at his expense.

YouTube

When Ty’s mom, Stephanie Waterhouse and her husband took a trip together, they asked Pawpaw to step in and take care of Ty. Needless to say, this proud grandfather was more than happy to spend time alone with the little one. He took a flight to Kentucky and was eagerly waiting for the fun time with Ty.

He had a few surprises for his daughter up his sleeve. Not only he wanted Ty to have a great time, but he also made sure for Stefanie to have a good laugh while away from home. Once you see the unique photos he took of Ty, you’re going to burst out laughing too. This is all way too sweet to handle.

YouTube

What he did was print a bunch of captions while he was still back home in Dallas. He had a plan of taking all these hilarious photos even before he got to Kentucky. He could have done it using Stefanie’s printer, but having said he is a “low-tech” guy, he didn’t want to risk it not knowing how to use hers. This means he was looking forward to spending this fun time with Ty. The little guy has to be really happy to have a Pawpaw like David who loves him to the  moon and back.

Stefanie calls these beautiful photos “Memes by Pawpaw” and the interesting part is that her father doesn’t even know what meme is. He’s just goofing around with his most beloved grandson.

YouTube

Actually, David isn’t so clueless when it comes to technology. He might have difficulties understanding how Facebook and other social networking sites work, but when he was younger, he initiated the creation of a database that tracks criminal information for the Dallas Police Department.

His idea was later used by the FBI and served as a model they used for creating the national database.

It looks like David is really a very special guy, both as a police officer and as a grandpa who’s doing things right.

His photos are worth seeing. We hope this will inspire other grandparents out there to make memories like these with their little ones.

Chef Guy Fieri cooks 2,200 meals for first responders battling the Dixie fire

Speaking of chefs who made a name for themselves not only because of their incredible cooking skills, but because of their heart of gold, one of the names that comes to mind is that of Guy Fieri. This man is known for going above and beyond for others when they need it the most, and his latest act made us fall for him even more.

As fire departments from all over the country, including the Murrieta Fire and Rescue Department, from Southern California, are battling the Dixie fire, the single largest fire in California history, chef Fieri did his part in helping these brave people by doing what he does best; cook.

Credit: San Jose Fire Department

Murrieta Fire and Rescue shared on their Facebook page that the famous chef made over 1,000 pounds of pulled pork sandwiches on Tuesday for the tireless firefighters and all the people braving the fire. With the help of 25 volunteers, the mayor of “Flavortown” prepared 2,200 meals.

The San Jose Fire Department shared a photo of chef Fieri with the firefighters with the caption:  “It’s a challenging & rewarding experience for our members. Big thanks to @GuyFieri for providing meals to crews at the #DixieFire base camp today.”

Other departments shared similar photos and expressed their gratitude to this incredible man.

Speaking of his gesture, Fieri said: “There’s a lot of first responders who can’t make it to the base camp. So we sent it to the fire lines. We sent it to a lot of the sheriff’s department and CHP that were out blocking roads.“

Last year, he did the same for the first responders of the Sonoma-Lake Napa Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection by preparing 2,774 meals. Chief Fieri was there to offer free meals for the firefighters braving the Santa Rosa fires in 2017, and those participating in the Carr and Camp Fires of 2018.

Chief Fieri truly is one of a kind.

U.S. WWII veteran, 97, reunites with the Italian siblings he saved in 1944

This is one of those stories you don’t get to stumble upon every day. It is about a reunion like no other; between a U.S. soldier and the three siblings he nearly killed by mistake.

Martin Adler from Florida, now 97 years old, who served in the World War II, and a fellow soldier of the 339th Infantry Regiment entered a house in Bologna, Italy, back in 1944 believing German soldiers were hiding inside.

There, they saw a huge basket and just as they prepared to shoot at it, a mother in distress entered the room and started shouting: “Bambinis! Bambinis! Bambinis!” as she stood in front of Martin’s gun. “That was a real hero, the mother, not me. The mother was a real hero. Can you imagine you standing yourself in front of a gun and screaming ‘Children! No!?” Martin told Associated Press.

Source: Twitter

At that moment, three children, two girls and a boy, aged 3 to 6 years old, jumped out of the basket. Martin and his friend were relieved they didn’t kill those kids. Looking at their cute and puzzled faces, Martin asked the mother if he could take a photo with the little ones. Thankfully, she agreed, and now, over 70 years after it was taken, that photo led to one of the most heart-melting reunions we’ve ever witnessed.

Recently, Martin asked his daughter Rachelle Donley to help him track the children down, and thanks to the social media and one Italian journalist, Matteo Incerti, his wish came true.

Namely, Incerti shared the photo on his Facebook page and asked some friends for help, and in no time, he reached the children, now grandparents. Bruno, Mafalda and Giuliana, who are now 84, 83 and 80 respectively, were over the moon to speak to the man who saved them years ago. They got the chance to talk via a video call, and now, Martin traveled to Bologna to meet them. The veteran was wearing a t-shirt saying ‘Martin’s bambini, forever kids.’

Martin’s daughter Rachelle says that her dad still trembles when he’s thinking of the time he nearly killed those children.

“I am so happy and so proud of him. Because things could have been so different in just a second. Because he hesitated, there have been generations of people,” she says.

Guliana’s granddaughter, Roberta Fontana, says that 6 children, 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren descended from the three kids hiding in the basket in October 1944.

“Knowing that Martin could have shot and that none of my family would exist is something very big,” she said. “It is very emotional.”

We are so glad Martin reunited with Bruno, Mafalda and Giuliana.

Meet the most adorable preschool teacher who has Down Syndrome

A lot of people with Down Syndrome are completely independent. They are no different than most of us when it comes to their mental capacities and capabilities. Despite that, they are often starred at and considered disabled. The truth is that societies have a hard time accepting differences, forgetting that those differences are what make this world a beautiful place.

Source: Facebook / Noelia Garella

Noelia Garella from Argentina has Down Syndrome, but that didn’t prevent her from pursuing her life-long dream of becoming a teacher. Her life hasn’t been an easy one because she was bullied and called names while growing up, and it all started when she was very young. Namely, when her parents tried getting her into preschool, the people working there told them she couldn’t be accepted because she was “a monster.” Those harsh words broke their hearts, but they knew their girl will succeed in life despite what others had to say.

Today, Noelia, who is 31 years old, works as a preschool teacher and is one of the few people with Down Syndrome in the world who hold that position.

“I adore this. Ever since I was little, I have always wanted to be a teacher, because I like children so much,” she says.

We are so glad she found a job which makes her happy.

Remember DJ Tanner from ‘Full House?’ This is her today, age 45

Full House is one of those shows that we can go to over and over again without ever getting bored. I remember enjoying every minute of it during the eight seasons it aired.

Some of the actors that made the show what it is are John Stamos, Bob Saget, twins Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen, Lori Loughlin, and Candace Cameron Bure.

Candace played the role of DJ Tanner, one of the kids of widower Danny Tanner. The moment she appeared on screen, Candace became America’s sweetheart.

Youtube/kriistiy

She loved acting from very early age and seeing her older sister Kirk Cameron being part of the popular sitcom Growing Pains, that love only grew bigger and stronger, so soon after, Candace found herself on the set of what is now considered one of the greatest TV shows ever made; Full House.

Speaking of the time the series was filmed, Candace revealed that she enjoyed it to the fullest from day one. Unlike some child actors who face hard times being on set, Candace’s experience was nothing short of amazing. “There wasn’t a big focus on image and beauty from producers, so I didn’t pay that much attention to it [on set],” she told Good Housekeeping.

“It was the same with my family and my agents. I never had people around me telling me that I had to look a certain way or be a certain weight, and I think that’s half of the battle.”

Youtube/kriistiy

Candace starred in all the episodes of the show and years after it ended, she found herself reprising the role that changed her life forever in the spin-off Fuller House.

“If I am forever known as D.J. Tanner and everyone’s big sister, I will be thrilled and happy,” she said. “Full House and Fuller House have brought so much joy, comfort, and love to so many people. There’s nothing more I want to be associated with than wonderful and positive things. I embrace the show as an adult just as I embraced it back when I was 10 years old.” the actress said.

Youtube/Today

Candace is happily married to the love of her life, former NHL superstar Valeri Bure. She first met him back in 1994, when she was 18 years old. The two dated for a while and in 1996, they tied the knot. This year, they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

Candace and Valeri are proud parents of three children, daughter Natasha, who is following into her mom’s footsteps, and sons Lev and Maksim.

In 2016, Candace wrote on Facebook: “There have been several tough years, in a row, ups and downs, bad attitudes and bad decisions, but we’ve persevered. We rode them out. We loved each other through them.”

Speaking of the secret to a long and happy marriage, Candace says: “When a man feels respected, that is love to him. For example, my husband does 98% of the cooking and I remind the kids to say thank you or I specify what I appreciate, whether it’s a new ingredient or recipe.” She also says that they put each other on the pedestal and have huge respect for one another.

“It’s worth it to make it a priority, otherwise, you see how it affects a marriage,” the actress adds. “Friendship is the foundation of marriage but you also need private time…You need that intimacy — not just romantic but also through conversation.”

Recently, she shared a photo of her and her Full House co-stars and wrote it was taken on the night she and Valeri first met.

Full House is a huge part of Candace’s life, so ending the filming of the spin-off wasn’t easy for her.

“[With Full House] I was 18 [when the show closed] and ready to move on and go into adulthood. But now being a seasoned mom and woman, you realize how grateful you are for all the things in your life and Fuller House and all the people that work on the show and these ladies are one of them. They mean the world to me.

“It was such a gift in my life to be able to reprise the show and do a whole new show based on the same characters, she told Washington Post.

Candace Cameron Bure looks amazing and we are very glad she has a happy and fulfilled love and an adorable family.

Olivia Newton-John hits back at “Grease” critics who label the movie as “homophobic” and “sexist”

Nowadays, it looks like people get easily offended by everything and everyone.

I am certain there is no person on Earth, whether young or old, who doesn’t remember the iconic love story between charmer Danny Zuko and the shy Australian transfer student Sandy Olsson. Greese was a huge hit back in the day and is still popular today, almost 43 years after it stole the hearts of millions and became the highest-grossing musical at the time.

The leading roles were played by handsome John Travolta and incredibly beautiful Olivia Newton-John; two legends whose careers had a profound impact in the film industry.

Source: Instagram/grease.1978

This year, the musical was again on after Christmas, and after so much time, some people somehow convinced themselves that it was nothing less than “homophobic, racist, and sexual.” What’s most, they took to the social media to share their views thus gathered the attention of many and caused a stir.

The movie’s star, Newton-John, who is now 72, spoke of these claims at the podcast A Life of Greatness, saying: “I think it’s kind of silly. I mean, this movie was made in the 1970s about the 1950s. It was a stage play, it’s a musical, it’s fun. It’s a fun movie musical not to be taken so seriously.”

Many believe that Grease doesn’t belong in the modern time and say things like: “All couples must be boy/girl? Well Grease, shove your homophobia,” and “Grease peak of homophobia,” according to The Sun.

Further, viewers say there is a lack of black actors and a scene where middle-aged host Vince Fontaine flirts with teenage student Marty, telling her no same-sex couples are allowed on the dance floor.

Reading through all these comments and accusations, Newton-John says: “We need to relax a little bit and just enjoy things for what they are. I didn’t see it like that at all, I think it’s a fun movie that entertains people.”

What are your thoughts on this? Are you a fan of Grease?

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick is all grown up and he looks exactly like his famous dad

Arnold Schwarzenegger rose to fame starring in some of the most popular sci-fi and action movies. You have certainly seen him in Terminator, but he also played the roles of Hercules in Hercules in New York and Conan in Conan the Barbarian. Some of you probably remember him from the comedies Twins and Kindergarten Cop.

Born in 1947, in a city near Graz, Austria, Arnold grew up in a family with an alcoholic father. He didn’t have it easy, but he always knew he would experience success.

Shutterstock

His awesome looks and hard work brought young Arnold the title Mr. Universe, and his name soon became well-known not only in his native country, but worldwide. In the following years, Arnold won the title four more times. He was named Mr. Olympia a number of times and became a celebrity.

In 1968, Arnold emigrated to America, and started living the American dream when he became part of the Hollywood glam.

Instagram/ arnoldschwarzeneggerpics

Speaking of his role as Terminator, Arnold told The Tim Ferris Show: “I never auditioned. Never. I would never go out for the regular parts because I was not a regular looking guy, so my idea always was everyone is going to look the same and everyone is trying to be the blond guy in California, going to Hollywood interviews and looking somewhat athletic and cute and all this.

“Okay, how can I carve myself out a niche that only I have? And so I always felt really strong about I have to get into the movie business.”

Youtube/FlashbackFM

From a bodybuilder, to an actor, to a Governor of California, Arnold has experienced it all. He has been successful in a number of different fields, and that includes his family. Now, his son Patrick is following into his footsteps and is pursuing a career in the film industry.

While Patrick was growing up, his father’s name was one of the most famous in Hollywood, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the boy fell in love with acting from very early age.

“I fell in love with acting, with film, with sets, with everything growing up,” 27-year-old Patrick told LIVE Kelly and Ryan during an interview.

“If I had a good week in school, my dad would pick me up early, take me to set. For a kid it’s a dream come true. You’re on the Universal studios lot, I watch my dad walk in as “pops” and come out as Mr. Freeze.  During breaks he had a golf cart, and he’d take me to the Jaws ride, the E.T, ride. All these different things, there were candy everywhere.”

Instagram/patrickschwarzenegger

According to him, both his parents have always been very supportive when it came to the choice of his future career, but they also wanted him to get formal education, which is what Patrick did. He earned a business degree from the University of California, as well as a cinematic arts degree.

Some of the movies in which Patrick had a lead role are Midnight Sun and Daniel Isn’t Real. Of course, he also starred in other movies, and new projects are yet to take place.

Shutterstock

In addition to acting, Patrick is also running his own business which he started at the age of 15. His “Project360” helped raise $30,000 for a women’s shelter in Long Beach, California.

Although his father is one of the best in Hollywood, Patrick isn’t spoiled at all. In fact, he always has his work done all by himself. Speaking to the Rain, he said: “If I’m at one of my gyms and someone needs to help sweep up the floor or something like that, I don’t get worried about getting my hands dirty. I’ve cleaned tons of floors at my businesses, I’ve made pizzas, I’ve done it all. You’re not an entrepreneur if you’re not willing to get your hands dirty—I learned that early.”

Shutterstock

Patrick says his parents are proud of him.

“He’s so proud of me. Both my parents are proud of me,” young Schwarzenegger said. “It’s pretty surreal ’cause I remember growing up and going to set with him and it was my favorite activity.”

“And I was so sad when he became governor, to go from Universal Studios’ lots to the Capitol,” he added. “But it was really surreal to have him come to set and have kind of the pages turned and, yeah, he’s really proud of me. You know, they’re so supportive and I couldn’t ask for a better parent duo.”

We can’t wait to see Patrick’s future projects. We would love to see him as the Terminator one day.

Bodies of twin babies swept away in Tennessee flooding found after an extensive search

The catastrophic flood that struck rural Tennessee claimed the lives of 21 people and dozens are still missing. The water swept away homes, cars, and trees, and damaged infrastructure.

Unfortunately, among those who lost their lives are 7-month-old twins Ryan and Rileigh. The babies were swept away from their father’s arms as he was struggling to hold them and his two other children who remained unharmed. The family was trying to escape the raising water when the tragedy struck.

Source: GoFundMe

After an extensive search, the bodies of the babies were found.

Charity Hooks, a cousin of the twins’ mother, set up a GoFundMe page in an attempt to help the family with the funeral expenses.

“The mother grabbed a tree and the father had the 2 twins the 5 year old and 19 month old and sadly the 2 babies left his arms!

“This money could help them with a lot! Expenses, flowers for the funeral, for the house they lost but Most important is the help for these beautiful babies that gained there wings today!” the page read.

So far, over $100,000 have been raised.

Rest in peace, beautiful babies. Our hearts go out to the grieving family.

When he passed away, Andy Griffith was a multimillionaire – this is how much the television legend was worth

Andy Griffith was a man of many talents. Years after his death, we still remember the roles he played.

Growing up, he was very shy and friends sometimes teased him because of that. Later on, however, he realized that his ability to make others laugh was his strength and he used that at the best of his ability, by making a name for himself.

Griffith’s first encounter with the stage was both petrifying and magical. When he was in third grade, he was supposed to perform along one of his classmates, but in the last minute, he was left all alone. He felt extremely nervous at first but then started singing Put on Your Old Gray Bonnet and realized that was it. He was born to perform, and he knew it.

Source: Youtube/JoeSimonetta

After years of struggling to find a job in operettas and different choirs, Griffith was approached by a man named Orville Campbell and was offered to record a monologue. That’s when “What it Was Was Football?” was born; the monologue which changed Griffith’s life forever.

Soon after, Griffith became the citizen of one of the most famous fictional places there are, the iconic town named Mayberry. The Andy Griffith Show followed the lives of the rest of the inhabitants and after the first day of filming, Griffith considered quitting because he believed the series won’t last long. At the time, he had no idea how wrong he was, as the sitcom aired for total of 249 half-hour episodes spanning eight seasons.

“That day, I didn’t have much to say at all. Artie Stander, Danny Thomas, and Sheldon Leonard yelled at one another all day. I asked Sheldon (the executive producer) if I could talk to him at the end of the day and he walked me to the gate. I said, ‘If this is what television is, I don’t think I can handle it,’” Griffith recalled.

Luckily, he changed his mind and stayed on the show. And, well, the rest is history.

Speaking of how the series managed to last for so long and of the role he played, that of Andy Taylor, the widowed sheriff of Mayberry, Griffith told New York Times back in 1965: “I think it is because we–everyone on the show–have a real sense of community, of kindness toward one another. The basic rule by which we live comes through on the program, kindness comes through. The show also has a number of featured performers, each with a definite character we can write around for any episode.

“But equally important is the character of Mayberry itself. We try to make it a real little community with its small problems and those of its people put forth comedically.”

The Andy Griffith Show actors didn’t only gain worldwide fame, but they made friends for life on that set. Don Knotts, who played the role of Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife on the show, was one of Griffith’s closest pals until his passing in 2006, at the age of 81.

Once the show came to an end, Griffith started his own production company, Andy Griffith Enterprises, and later played in the series Matlock, for 181 episodes.

The legendary actor died of heart attack in 2012. He was 86.

At the time of his passing, Griffith was reported to be worth $60 million. He gave the film industry a lot and his roles continue to live even today. Who could ever forget the iconic Andy Taylor?

In Griffith’s honor, a statue of him as Andy Taylor has been placed in Raleigh, North Carolina. The inscription reads: “A simpler time, a sweeter place, a lesson, a laugh, a father, a son.”

Funeral home hires Labrador Retriever as “Bereavement Care Dog” to help families cope with their grief

Dogs make all the difference in the world. They are not only loving and friendly, but compassionate and caring too. Everyone who has ever owned a dog can say that these special animals have feelings more profound than anyone else. They are capable of feeling sadness when their humans are sad, and happiness when they see their owners smile.

Knowing just how important canines are to humans, the owners of a funeral home in Pennsylvania, the Soxman Funeral Home, decided to help the people who have lost a loved one cope with their grief by hiring the beautiful Labrador Retriever named Lilo as a “Bereavement Care Dog.”

Lilo is there to greet the mourners and provide a feeling of ease.

Anna Nesbit, the funeral home’s director and co-owner, spoke of Lilo and told WTAE: “She just has a way of bringing some warmth to a really sad time. She just looks up at you with those eyes and the families take that all in and you just watch them take a sigh of relief.”

Lilo was one of a litter of eight bright puppies who all grew up to be service dogs. She was trained by Perfect Fit Canines Service Dogs and the moments the funeral home owners laid eyes on her, they knew she would be the perfect fit for the job.

“She has a very sweet, gentle disposition which very much suits the needs of a funeral home,” Anna said in Facebook live video. “After some extensive training… we started to introduce her to some of the families around here during the services.”

Lilo’s job isn’t to distract people from mourning, but to help with the “intimidating feelings” some people have when they need to visit a funeral home.

One person who witnessed Lilo’s ability to provide comfort is Clyde Boyd. At the funeral of his 95-year-old mother Agnes Boyd, the deceased’s great-grandchildren were afraid to enter the funeral home, but Lilo did her job at the best of her ability.

“The part I really noticed was the great-grandchildren, they were very nervous and it was the first time they ever experienced anything like that, and she definitely made a difference, loosening them up, letting them be themselves,” Clyde told WTAE.

Lilo is happy she is surrounded by humans who need her. At the funeral home, she has her own place to sleep and a bunch of toys. When she’s not on the job, she splits time between Anna and the funeral home’s co-owner Brian and their families who love her unconditionally.

Young lady wins contest and gives all the money to her grandma who took her out of foster care

There are certain people in our life who do so much for us that no matter what we do, we can never repay them for their kindness. For a young woman named Jordan Stiers, from Lawrence, Kansas, that person is her grandma Roxanne Edwards.

Roxanne didn’t let Jordan and her four siblings end up in foster care. Instead, she raised them herself and she has always been there for them. And now, Jordan found herself in a position to do something nice for her loving granny.

Source: Twitter/ Kansas Basketball

As it turned out, this young lady was lucky enough to be chosen for a basketball contest to shoot the ball from mid-court in a chance to win $10,000. She was also allowed to pick a non-player to shoot the ball for her.

She chose Brennan Bechard, the director of Kansas basketball operations. Well, it turned out she picked just the right person, because believe it or not, he sank the big shot and earned Jordan the money.

She could spend it on whatever she wanted. She could travel, or buy herself a car, but instead, she chose to give it to her grandma. “She’s my mom, she’s my dad, she’s my grandma – she’s everything. She has done so much for me, taught me so much. There’s nothing I can do to repay her, but this will say thank you a little bit,” Jordan said.

She also added that she didn’t know how her granny would react. We are sure she would be overwhelmed with emotions knowing she did a great job raising someone as caring as Jordan.

This is how Matthew Labyorteaux from “Little House on the Prairie” looks like today

Can you believe it’s been 36 years since the last episode of our all time favorite series “Little House on the Prairie” aired? What is amazing is that even after so much time, we still feel close to the Ingalls family who treated us with their everyday adventures and made our days a bit more fun back in the day.

Now if you were a fan, you certainly remember Albert Quinn Ingalls who was played by a young Matthew Labyorteaux.

Both Matthew and Albert, whom he played on the series, shared the same fate as they were both adopted. While Albert was adopted by Charles and Caroline Ingalls after going from orphanage to orphanage for a very long time, Matthew was adopted as a 10-month-old baby by actress Frances “Frankie” Marshall and talent agent Ronald Labyorteaux.

Before they welcomed him in, his adoptive parents were told that little Matthew had a hole in his heart that would eventually close all by itself, but they were determined to have him and give him all the love.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Frankie said that her son didn’t walk until he turned three and couldn’t speak until he reached four. ”But they would never acknowledge he was also autistic. He slept standing up in his crib, and when anyone would try to pick him up he would scream and try to get away. I spent months on the floor with Matthew screaming and me holding him down telling him that no matter what he did I would love him.”

The role in the “Little House on the Prairie” was a huge success that put Matthew under the spotlight from a very young age. After the series, he took part in the 1983 made-for-TV movie ”Little House: Look Back to Yesterday” where his character was diagnosed with leukemia, but the viewers never learned what happened to him at the end.

“He never officially died in the episode and I think maybe it’s kind of left up in the air to debate… but it was sort of an unspoken thing that we knew he was going to die,” he said years ago.

As he had his debut on TV at a very young age in a commercial, acting was something that came naturally to this actor.

“I’ve been acting since I was four, so I’m used to being around adults on movie and TV sets. Acting isn’t something I had to learn to like. It’s something I’ve done since I can remember, and I love to do it,” Matthew said in one occasion.

After playing Albert Ingalls, Matthew played different roles in many movies and was nominated twice (1982 and 1983) for a Young Artists Award as Best Young Actor in a Drama Series.

In the movie “Whiz Kids” he played a computer prodigy who solved crimes by braking into computer systems. Matthew was into technology in his real life as well. In fact, in 1982, he became the United States Pac-Man champion.

Today, he’s focused on voice-acting and voice work for video-games. When it comes to his private life, he tends to keep it a secret.

Matthew is as charming as he was back in the day, don’t you think so?

Frank Sinatra’s granddaughter AJ Lambert recalls the last moments of the life of the greatest singer of the 20th century

Dubbed the most influential musician of the 20th century and the most selling artists of all time; who else if not iconic Frank Sinatra. Throughout his brilliantly distinguished career, Sinatra sold a staggering 150 million records worldwide and received eleven Grammy Awards, including one Lifetime Achievement.

Sinatra was a man of many talents. His incredible looks took him to the world of film and earned him an Academy Award for the movie From Here to Eternity.

What Sinatra’s fans are happy for is that his legacy lives on all thanks to his family. Sinatra’s daughter, Nancy, followed into his footsteps and built an enviable career herself. One of her most famous hits which topped the charts is the single These Boots are Made for Walking. Now, Nancy’s daughter, Angela Jenifer “AJ” Lambert is pursuing a career in music as well and she often performs some of the Ol’ Blue Eyes hits, which were over 1,000 throughout his career.

AJ, who admires her grandfather a lot, shared some interesting details of the legendary singer’s life. In fact, when she was younger, she spent a great amount of time at Sinatra’s place Rancho Mirage and saw many famous people visit.

Youtube/FrankSinatra

“Gregory Peck and his wife, Veronique, and their kids, Tony and Cecilia, came all the time, so we knew them really well,” AJ told Desert Sun.

“I was a very angsty 13-year-old kid and (one night), I had my Walkman, sitting outside on one of these chairs and the stars were all out. I was listening to Learning To Fly and out comes Gregory Peck in a sweater and his eyebrows and all this stuff. He says, ‘What are you listening to?’ I opened my Walkman and showed him the tape and he said ‘Pink Floyyyd!’. I’ll never forget it! I’m pretty sure that’s the only time he said Pink Floyd ever. We had an enchanted childhood down here, I won’t lie. It was just as cool as you’d think it was,” she added.

Youtube/FrankSinatra

AJ has always been enchanted by her grandfather’s music and often listened to The Rat Pack, a group of A-list show business friends who met casually at the Los Angeles home of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Members of The Rat Pack were Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and Joey Bishop, among the others. AJ also loved the music of Bob Dylan.

However, her interest was mostly related to goth and punk music. In fact, while studying for a screenwriter in college, she was part of a number of groups including Here We Go Magic and The Homosexuals.

AJ once told Daily Mail how she played her grandfather Sinatra the Sid Vicious’s version of My Way, but he wasn’t a fan.

“I didn’t show him the video [in which Vicious shoots his audience]. That might have been too much for his old ticker! But I like that version way better – it takes My Way to the extreme. It’s a f***-you song, and that’s what it should sound like,” she added.

When she turned 40, AJ started performing Sinatra’s song, especially those who were closest to her heart. She sang the huge hits from his albums In the Wee Small Hours and Sinatra Sings for Only the Lonely accompanied by a piano only. “It’s about my relationship with him, obviously, as a kid and as an adult, what the music meant to him and what it means to me now as an adult and a singer,” she told Las Vegas Sun.

AJ has always been aware of her talent, but at the same time she felt the pressure the name Sinatra holds. At the age of 46, she released her first solo album in which she included the songs Sleep Warm and Ebb Tide among the rest.

Looking at her, it’s safe to say that she resembles Sinatra a lot.

She recalled how great Sinatra wasn’t fond of all of his songs. In fact, “He didn’t like anything he didn’t have a say in – and he didn’t have a say in whether My Way was going to be his theme song. He was being defined against his will.”

Frank Sinatra passed away in 1998, aged 82. Speaking to the Daily Mail, AJ recalled the final months of his life and said, “I was 24 when he died and when I last saw him, a couple of months earlier, he was bed bound and had trouble remembering who people were. He was old and not quite there so it just didn’t seem right to make him listen to the kind of music I was playing.”

Frank Sinatra will forever be remembered as “the greatest singer of the 20th century.”

Downton Abbey star Maggie Smith – Her private life and her astonishing career of six decades

Probably best known for the characters of Professor Minerva McGonagall in the Harry Potter movies and Dowager Countess Violet Crawley in Downton Abby, Dame Maggie Smith became one of our all time favorite actresses.

Speaking of these two huge role, she once told ES magazine, “I am deeply grateful for the work in Potter and indeed Downton, but it wasn’t what you’d call satisfying. I didn’t really feel I was acting in those things.”

This Academy Award-winning actress’ career is long and rich and she’s still delivering incredible performances even at the age of 85.

Maggie Smith was born Margaret Natalie Smith in Ilford, Essex, England, but he family moved to Oxford when she was 4 years old. After high school, Maggie attended the Oxford Playhouse School from 1951 to 1953 and made her first stage debut in 1952 with the role of Viola in an Oxford University Dramatics Society production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

At the time, she didn’t see herself as talented and told the Guardian, ”I longed to be bright and most certainly never was. I was rather hopeless, I suspect, I don’t know what. I think I was just very odd.” Luckily, the audience thought she was indeed exceptional so just a few years later she had her debut on Broadway in the play New Faces.

With a career spanning for over 60 years, it’s safe to say that it was her talent that helped her last for so long in a world full of fierce competence. Maggie won a Best Actress Oscar for The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and Best Supporting Actress Oscar for California Suite, Tony award for her role of Lettice Douffet in the 1990 comedy Lettice and Lovage, and four Emmy awards, three for Downton Abbey and one for the lead role in HBO’s television movie My House in Umbria.

She’s one of the few actresses who received the ‘Triple Crown’ of awards: an Academy Award, a Tony Award and an Emmy.

Maggie got married twice and has two sons from her first marriage with respected actor Sir Robert Stephens. Both their sons, Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens followed into their parents’ footsteps and became actors themselves. This marriage lasted for ten years.

The parents never really encouraged their children to pursue careers in acting, but they both wanted that and are very successful. Chris Larkin was born Christopher Stephens but he changed his name because he wanted to succeed for what he possessed himself, not because he was the child of a celebrity couple.

”I wanted to do it on my own. Robert, my father, was always trying to get me to trade on the family connection. He never got (understood) the changing of the name. He would go, ‘Why don’t you change it back?’ But that was the choice I made. And I wouldn’t have been able to live with myself if I had gone back on it. It would have been like admitting defeat… I’ve always been a fiercely independent soul…,” Chris Larkin told The Times in 2013.

Chris is probably best known to the wider audience portraying the Hermann Göring in the film Hitler: The Rise of Evil, his role in Valkyrie, and the role of captain Howard of the Marines Master and Commander: The Far Side of the world. Toby’s most remarkable role is that of the Bond villain Gustav Graves, the main antagonist in the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day.

In 1976, Maggie married screenwriter Beverley Cross whom she considered the greatest love of her life. Cross passed away in 1998 but Maggie is still grieving. She had a hard time coping with the loss.

She has been through so much during her life, she even battled cancer but ended up winner. “I had been feeling a little rum. I didn’t think it was anything serious because years ago I felt a lump and it was benign,” she told The Telegraph in 2009. Even though she had to undergo chemotherapy treatments, she never stopped filming Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince because she didn’t want to disappoint her fans.

Today, she’s living in the small village of Lurgashall in West Sussex, England in a house she bought together with her husband Cross.

Meghan and Harry under huge financial pressure despite Netflix and Spotify deals, royal experts claim

Stepping down from their royal duties and turning to a civilian life seemed like the right decision for the Sussexes, but now royal experts believe the couple is under huge financial pressure.

Harry and Meghan give the impression that they have settled in the States just perfectly. They welcomed their second child, daughter Lilibet Diana, and tend to spend quality time with their children. Besides being devoted parents, both Harry and Meghan are quite busy running their non-profit organization Archewell. “To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon,” a statement by the couple read regarding the choice of name of their foundation.

Shutterstock

Their Archewell Productions company is behind the production of the Netflix new series Heart of Invictus. It will follow the competitors as they prepare for the 2022 games.

The games, which come in the form of international sporting events and competitions for wounded, injured, and sick servicemen and women, both veterans and current, were initiated by Harry back in 2014.

“Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination and resolve,” Harry told Sky News.

“This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year.”

Shutterstock

At the same time, Meghan will be the executive producer for an animated program called Pearl which will feature the life and adventures of a 12-year-old girl, inspired by a numerous influential women from history.

At the moment, Harry is also working as a coach and an advocate for mental health for the the Silicon Valley startup company BetterUp. “I intend to help create impact in people’s lives,” Harry told the Wall Street Journal.

Besides Netflix, the couple also landed a contract with Spotify. It has been reported that they received $33.5 million from the company. As of Netflix, they will be getting between $1.85 and $3.7 million yearly.

Shutterstock

Oprah Winfrey earned herself an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series Or Special, for the Harry and Meghan interview, and now royal experts believe the Sussexes will likely need one themselves if they want to deliver for all the millions they received. The deals they made with the companies put a lot of pressure on the couple, as per Royal commentator Daniela Elser who said Harry and Meghan “have a lot to prove” and are “fighting against the clock.”

“So far, they haven’t exactly set Hollywood on fire. The problem with this paradigm is that their entire money-making ability is pegged to their ability to generate good PR,” Elser writes for News.com.au.

“Should interest in them wane, or public fatigue for the never-out-of-the-news duo set in, then their value could plummet.”

Shutterstock

Harry and Meghan spend huge amounts on money on their California home. It was also reported that they spent additional $3.3 million to cover the rent and renovations of Frogmore Cottage, their former home.

We hope the future will be bright for the Sussexes and they will be successful at what they do.

Elderly lady carrying heavy bags didn’t expect such kindness from a group of football players

The kindness we offer to others in times of need is what truly makes this world go round. And I don’t speak of the type of kindness we do in order to receive something in return, but of those seemingly insignificant acts we do when no one’s watching and which often go a long way no matter how small they seem.

On his way home, a man noticed an elderly lady and her grandchildren carrying some heavy bags. They were probably getting back from the grocery store and were now struggling to make adjustments in carrying the bags and probably got tired as they made a few stops.

Source: Facebook/John Butler

Just as the man decided to get to the lady and offer her a ride, he noticed the St. Augustine High football players approaching her. Despite being exhausted from the training they had just had, they took the woman’s belongings and carried them for her and her grandkids. Five blocks later, the lady got to her home and thanked the footballers for their help.

Isn’t it beautiful to see young people doing the right thing?

2-year-old boy makes friends with a lonely 99-year-old woman

The pandemic forced most of us to stay at home and avoid going outside. Sadly, that means not meeting friends as often as we would love to, not attending parties, and avoiding physical contact with others as much as possible. Well, the social distancing that we are supposed to live by didn’t stop two people from staring an adorable friendship which melts our hearts.

Mary O’Neill is a 99-year-old lady who lives all by herself. On the other side of her backyard fence lives a sweet boy who has just turned two. Because of the pandemic, Mary started spending most of her days in her yard and that is when she and little Benjamin bonded.

Source: YouTube Screenshot – WBIR Channel 10

Mary uses a cane to help her move around and Benjamin has just learned how to walk, but that doesn’t stop the two from spending some quality time together.

When Benjamin throws his balls over the low fence, Mary “kicks” them using her cane and they call that fun game the “cane ball.”

Needless to say, Benjamin makes this elderly lady’s days a lot more fun. “Sometimes he’ll get up and grab a piece of sand or a rock and give it to me as a gift,” O’Neill shared with TODAY. “He makes me feel good.”

Source: YouTube Screenshot – WBIR Channel 10

Mary used to spend her days at home playing Yahtzee all by herself, but now, she plays with bubbles, water guns, and tiny toy trucks instead.

“She’s just Mary, or in the past couple of days, he’s been calling her ‘Mimi,’” Sarah Olson, Benjamin’s mom, told CBS. “We’ll be playing inside and he’ll go, ‘Mimi? Mimi?’ and we’ll go outside and look for Mimi.”

Source: YouTube Screenshot – WBIR Channel 10

Mary has children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on her own, but among the photos of them that she keeps in her home, there are also those of Benjamin and his siblings. That is how much the boy and his family mean to her.

“Friendship can just happen so many different ways, I’m just really happy they were able to form this friendship – quarantine or not, pandemic or not,” Olson shared with CBS. “I’m happy they formed this friendship because it means a lot to her and it means a lot to him too.”

The good thing is that the restrictions are now eased and Benjamin gets to cross the fence and visit Mary as much as he loves.

Isn’t this unique friendship just another proof that when two people get along age is just a number? You can take a look at the entire story in the video below.

Girl asks server why her skin is dark, the server quickly comes with an answer

Little children are painfully honest, but that’s not always a bad thing.

Holland is a little girl who loves spending time at her favorite place, the Waffle House in Fort Myers. In fact, her mother Mary Katherine started taking her there when Holland was just a baby, so all the employees know her and love her. One of them, Mrs. Cynthia, who brings the little girl raisin bread and apple juice the moment she sees her walking at the store, has become a family over the years.

One day, as Mrs. Cynthia was serving them, Holland said something that left Mary Katherine speechless. The little girl uttered a question which made her mother very nervous, but Mrs. Cynthia knew just the right answer. “Mrs. Cynthia, I want to have dark skin like you. Why is your skin so dark?” the girl asked. What Mrs. Cynthia responded seemed simple, but her words carried a lot of wisdom. “Because God made everyone different! Isn’t that wonderful?”

Holland nodded in agreement, but she seemed to have some more questions in mind. “But, Mrs. Cynthia — if I had your skin, we could both dress up like Tiana!” Holland said. Mrs. Cynthia smiled and told her that she can dress as Tiana, the Disney princess, whenever she wishes.

Mary Katherine felt relieved. Both she and her girl learned a valuable lesson that day and Mary Katherine, who is an author, decided to share it with the rest of us. This is what she wrote: “My three-year-old daughter sees the difference between a black woman and a white woman. Human beings aren’t born oblivious to our differences. And honestly, in so many ways, pretending these differences don’t exist is an insult. What we must do—intentionally—is teach our children to see and APPRECIATE the things that make God’s people so unique. Whether that be their race, nationality, or religious beliefs… We need to talk about these things. Because, spoiler alert: our kids ALREADY see them.”

She concluded her Love What Matters post adding: “…fear is a liar. And silence is a terrible teacher. Thank God for the wisdom and grace of Mrs. Cynthia. Moving forward, I won’t stop my children from asking questions about the world around them. I won’t shush them into silence and teach them that ‘difference’ is a dangerous or taboo topic. Instead, I will tell them this simple, honest-to-goodness truth, straight from the mouth of our dear friend, Mrs. Cynthia: ‘God made everybody different. And isn’t that wonderful?’”

We know that Holland will grow up knowing how to embrace differences, something we should all learn to do if we want to make this world a better place.

Kid brothers set up a lawn care business during the summer and it’s a huge success

Most young children spend every minute of every day having fun. They tend to play with their friends outside, play video games, or watch TV. However, there are also those who spend their free time working, just like the McBrides brothers, who are 12, 10, and 9 years old.

Believe it or not, Marcus, Travell and Marcelino have started their own business, the 3 Amigos Lawncare Service, and they are very good at what they do. So far, around 40 families from their home town Saginaw, Michigan, use their services regularly.

It all started when the oldest brother, Marcus, told his mother Terri Reed of his idea to set up a business and she loved it. “Marcus told me that he wanted to start his own business doing lawn care work,” Terri told Michigan Live. “So, the following day, I got up and I purchased all their equipment and their work clothes.”

The brothers gained the trust of their neighbors because they are hard-working and dedicated. What’s most, now that the summer comes to an end, they are planning on expanding the services they offer and tend to include clearing leaves and snow among the rest.

Mom Terri is extremely proud of her sons. She is an owner of a number of rental properties in the area and now that her boys saved enough money by working hard all summer, they put it into an investment property.

“They are enjoying it,” Terri said. “They have their weekly pay days and everything else goes into their business accounts.”

Great job, boys, we wish you a lot of success with your business in the future.

Pierce Brosnan and Kelly’s son Dylan is all grown up and very successful in many fields

Pierce Brosnan has always been considered one of the most charming Hollywood celebrities. His acting talent along with his incredible looks helped him land roles in many outstanding movies, but that of special agent 007 is probably one of his most memorable.

Shutterstock

In 2001, Brosnan tied the knot for the second time. He married gorgeous journalist Keely Shaye Smith. Four years before that, they welcomed son Dilan who is now 23 years old and is as attractive as his famous dad, if not more. The year they married, the couple welcomed their second son, Paris. Brosnan has three other children from his previous marriage with Cassandra Harris. Sadly, their daughter Charlotte died of ovarian cancer in 2013.

Dylan has always admired his father and his work and said that growing up with a famous dad didn’t feel strange. “Yeah, of course. I don’t think it was something that we focused on growing up, but it was awesome and very exciting to grow up on film sets and travel with him. It was such a great opportunity,” Dylan told Enquirer.

One would assume that a child of such a celebrity like Brosnan would follow into their parent’s footsteps, and that’s almost always true. In the case of Dylan and his dad, the young and ambitious man did take parts in some movies, including Out of Reach and the short film Iconic. Dylan was a production assistant for his parents’ 2017 documentary Poisoning Paradise.

Shutterstock

Although he’s passionate about acting, it’s the fashion Dylan is mostly focused on. He’s a huge name in the world of modeling and has been working with brands like Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana and H&M. In 2015, this handsome young man made his runaway debut during the Men’s Fashion Week in Paris. In 2017, Dylan was on the cover of GQ Style Magazine in Germany. This year, he walked the catwalk for the Spring/Summer Moschino show.

Shutterstock

In January 2020, both Dylan and his younger brother Paris made their dad extremely proud of them. The siblings were chosen to be Golden Globe Ambassadors for the Golden Globe Awards, which they both said was a huge honor.

“Dylan and Paris Brosnan have already achieved tremendous success in the fashion world and are following in their father’s footsteps in entertainment,” Lorenzo Soria, President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, said.

“We’re proud to honor our dad’s legacy as we join the incredible roster of previous Golden Globe Ambassadors, many of whom have gone on to pursue their own dreams in the entertainment industry,” Dylan said.

Shutterstock

The two brothers used the opportunity to highlight the cause FEED, which provides nutritious meals to school-aged children around the world.

Despite being very successful in his chosen fields, Dylan graduated from the USC School of Cinematic Arts this year. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, he didn’t have a graduation ceremony, but that didn’t prevent him from celebrating with his family and the people he loves the most. His dad posted a photo of him wearing his graduation cap and wrote, “Congratulations Dylan on your graduation and academic achievements at USC School of Cinematic Arts. Go forth into this new world and make it your own. Be fearless, courageous and generous. Love, Dad.”

Dylan is a versatile man with many talents. Along his love for film and fashion, he is also the lead singer of the rock band “Raspberry Blond.” On top of that, young Dylan is an environment activist who does a lot for the nature. He was part of the 700 volunteers who planted 3,000 trees at the ranch.

Malibu morning with Dylan

A post shared by Pierce Brosnan (@piercebrosnanofficial) on

Although he’s busy with his careers and causes, Dylan still finds the time for love.

He’s been dating girlfriend Avery Wheless for a few years. She could be seen on most of the family photos Brosnan and wife Kelly post on the social media. Speaking of how he sees love, Dylan says he learned it all from his parents and what the two have. “I think they have a lot of respect for each other and like what they do. They understand each other’s work ethics. If one of them needs space or time to figure something out that’s there.”

Actors Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw reunited 46 years after “Love Story”

Do the movies from the 60’s and 70’s make you feel nostalgic for the good old times? If the answer is yes, then you definitely remember the onscreen love romance between Oliver Barrett and Jennifer “Jenny” Cavilleri. Barett, a heir of the family’s legacy, and Jenny, a girl from a working-class family, fell in love despite their differences and the many obstacles they faced. This movie was a huge hit and the American Film Institute ranked him 9th on the list of most romantic movies of all time. It is at the same time one of the highest-grossing films in the history of film.

Believe it or not, since Love Story was released, 50 years have passed.

The actors of the love story who put their hearts into depicting the emotions and the deep feelings between Oliver and Jenny are Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw. After Love Story, they instantly became America’s sweethearts.

Wikimedia Commons

O’Neal played in the soap opera Peyton Place before being part of one of the most memorable love movies, and his career went upwards after the role of Oliver for which he earned an Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. Other movies he played in after Love Story are What’s Up, Doc?, Paper Moon, and the 1975 period drama film Barry Lyndon. His most recent TV appearance is that in Bones.

Shutterstock

When his co-star Ali MacGraw got the role of Jenny, she was pretty much a new face on TV, but that didn’t prevent her from gaining enormous popularity.

In fact, a year before the film that earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama and an Academy Award nomination, she won the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer for her role in the movie Goodbye, Columbus. Her beauty was, and still is, distinctive and mesmerizing. MacGraw appeared in a number of movies, including The Getaway, Convoy, Players, and the 1980 comedy Just Tell Me What You Want.

Wikimedia Commons

After that, stunning MacGraw, who married three times, tried to get away of the spotlight and has dedicated her time to being an animal advocate.

It was in 2016 when the legendary actors reunited again for the tourting production of the play Love Letters. However, although audiences and fans saw they reunite as actors, the two said that they have been close throughout the years and remained good friends ever since Love Story.

Now, MacGraw is 81, and O’Neal is 79. We are happy both actors are doing great nowadays and we are forever grateful to them for giving us the iconic movie Love Story and the classic line, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry!”

Take a look at the movie’s trailer in the video below.

Two albino sisters from Kazakhstan born 12 years apart become modeling sensation

There are over 7 billion people living on Earth, all beautiful in their own way. In fact, it is the diversity that makes this world as lovely as it is and accepting the differences is something we should all live by.

Asel and Kamila from Kazakhstan are two sisters who are 12 years apart. Their distinctive appearance steals the hearts of many. Both of them have albinism and look so stunning that they are now part of commercials by numerous companies and many modeling agencies from the country are interested in working with them.

Albinism is a genetic disorder that causes a lack of pigmentation in the skin, eyes and hair. Despite the unique looks, people with albinism may suffer from certain medical conditions such as vision defects and a sensitivity to sunlight.

When Asel was born, her parents were surprised by her skin color. No one in their family had albinism before so her mom, Aiman Sarkitova, told Daily Mail, “When I gave birth to my eldest, genetics were not so developed with us, it is developing only now.”

What was more shocking for the family is that their second daughter, Kamila, shares her sister’s condition. They also have an 8-year-old son who is dark-skinned, a real Kazhan.

Asel, who is now 14, started her modeling career at the age of 10, and today, she and 2-year-old Kamila make the perfect modeling duo. They have over 33,000 followers on Instagram and their popularity grows bigger and bigger with each passing day.

Albinism is rare and people who have it may sometimes feel different and alone, but these two sisters are happy to have each other and share their joys and even downfalls in life. We say they are truly stunning.

Actress Kaley Cuoco offers to buy horse who was punched at Olympics

One of the many reasons why we all love watching the Olympics is because it is “crowded” with people who have been waiting their entire life to show the world how great they are at what they do and how hard they worked to earn a spot in one of the greatest sports events there are.

This year, among the rest, one particular event made many viewers sad. A horse named Saint Boy was being punched repeatedly by Germany modern pentatholon coach Kim Raisner. What’s most, she urged the rider Annika Schleu to “really hit” the horse if it refused to jump.

The incident was caught on camera and made many animal lovers angry. The Modern Pentathlon Federation (UIPM) disqualified Raisner from the individual competition and the remainder of the Olympic games.

“Her actions were deemed to be in violation of the UIPM Competition Rules, which are applied to all recognized Modern Pentathlon competitions including the Olympic Games,” they wrote in a statement.

Germany’s Olympic team chief, Alfons Hoermann, also spoke of the incident. As per Reuters, he said: “We were all in agreement that the coach will not be at the competition on Saturday. We also consider that an urgent review of the incident is necessary, especially in terms of animal protection, and that the national and international federations draw their conclusions.”

Among those who decided to stand for Saint Boy is actress Kaley Cuoco. The Big Bang Theory star is a huge horse lover and she and her husband Karl Cook actually own some of these elegant animals. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the actress said: “I have six horses, and they have been the biggest blessing in my life. Horseback riding is why I’m so centered, especially in this business. I wouldn’t have my career without it.”

DFree / Shutterstock.com

Cuoco decided to share her feelings regarding the disgraceful incident involving Saint Boy.

“I feel it’s my duty and heart to comment on this disgrace…This is not Olympic show jumping, ” she wrote according to 7News. “This is a disgusting, classless, abusive representation of our sport in so many ways. This team should be ashamed of themselves.

“You and your team did not do your county proud, or this sport. You make us look bad. Shame on you and godspeed to any animal that comes in contact with you.”

Her next move made many fell in love with her even further. Cuoco offered to buy Saint Boy. “I’ll buy that horse outright and show it the life it should have. Name your price,” she ended her post.

We are so thankful to Cuoco for making such an offer. We know the animal would end in the right hands if she welcomes him in.

Christopher Lloyd from “Back to the Future,” this is “Doc Brown” today at the age of 82

Speaking of sci-fi movies, the first thing that comes to mind is Back to the Future. It is a legendary trilogy which is still as popular and as loved as it was over 30 years ago when the third and final part aired.

Of course, the movie wouldn’t be what it is hadn’t been for Michael J Fox who played the role of Marty and Christopher Lloyd in the role of Doc Brown.

But did you know that when he was first handed the script, Lloyd threw it in the garbage? Luckily, a friend of his made him reconsider his decision and give it a go, and well, the rest is history.

Youtube/movieclips

Christopher Lloyd’s first love what the theater. At the age of 19, he started taking classes in New York City’s Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theater under Actor Sanford Meisner. Speaking of those times, Lloyd told Irish Times: ”I had a wonderful teacher. I had really figured out how to use myself technically as an actor. It changed my life forever. [Meisner] was an extraordinary teacher. He made it clear to me how to work as an actor and how to prepare for a role. It was a big turning point for me.”

Lloyd’s first ever stage debut was in a production of And They Put Handcuffs on the Flowers. What followed was his first Broadway appearance in Red, White and Maddox.

Youtube/MJmcnult

Many productions later, Lloyd decided to turn to the film industry and one particular movie helped kickstart his career; One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, where he played psychiatric patient Max Taber and starred alongside his idol Jack Nicholson.

“I did so many interviews and auditions for films and it was just zilch. Nothing I did impressed anybody! I could just feel it. It was always ‘Okay, thank you, Mr. Lloyd.’

“Then out of the blue Cuckoo’s Nest came to cast. A casting director who sent me up for different things over the years sent me up for that and it just clicked. I was blown away, just so excited,” Lloyd said.

“Nicholson was an idol of mine going back to Five Easy PiecesEasy Rider, and The Last Detail,” he added. “It just blew my mind, suddenly to be on a set with his presence, and him there, it was wonderful.”

Speaking of the time he was offered the iconic role of Dr. Emmett Brown, Lloyd shared with Sydney Morning Herald: “At the same time I was doing a film in Mexico City and I decided I was going to go back to New York and go back to the theatre where my roots were.

“So when the Back to the Future script came to me I had pretty much made up my mind I was going back to New York and I cast it aside. A friend I was with at the time said that’s not like me, so I thought I’d better take it out of the waste paper basket and have another look. And I did and went back to LA and met Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future director) and that was that.”

Initially, Doc Brown was imagined as a calm and reserved person, but Lloyd decided to do things differently with the role that changed his life and career forever.

The movie was a huge success. It made millions and people fell in love with it so much that action figures, legos, and toys of Doc and Marty flooded the stores.

“I’m an animated [action figure], and yeah, I’m a LEGO. I don’t think I’m immortalized,” Lloyd said. “Well, there you are, a hundred years from now somebody will be rummaging around the attic [and say], ‘Oh, look what I got! Doc Brown!’”

Back to the Future went on to have two sequels which were as popular as the original. Asked which one he loves the most, Lloyd says the third.

“There was horseback riding, which was a lot of fun,” he wrote. “There was the steam engine, to be on, work on, which is quite an experience. And Doc had a romance!”

Despite Lloyd’s enormous popularity, he tends to keep his private life out of the spotlight and says he’s always in for another Back to the Future movie as long as his friend of many years, Michael J. Fox, is part of it. “I think regardless of the Parkinson’s, he’d probably jump on the role and he’d be great,” Lloyd said. “I can’t see doing another sequel without him, I would certainly want Bob Zemeckis directing it, Bob Gale writing it and the other principals being involved.”

Shutterstock

Over the years, Lloyd starred in a huge number of movies, including The Addams Family, where he played Uncle Fester, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, the comedy Clue, and a lot more.

At the age of 82, Lloyd doesn’t plan on quitting doing what he fulfills him; acting. “I don’t really mind as long as I’m working,” he said. “Whether it’s a lead or cameos, or supporting roles, I love to be doing it. I don’t wait around for the ideal role to come my way – I’ll take what’s given,” he said.

Despite his enormous popularity, Christoper Lloyd is a very grounded person and that is just another reason why we love him so much.
