Richard Gere summoned to court after helping over 100 migrants stranded at sea

We have always been told that doing good is what makes this world go round, but no one warned us that offering kindness can sometimes put us into trouble.

Actor Richard Gere is just an example of that, but no matter what, he never stops being the change he wants to see in the world.

The prestigious actor has turned to Buddhism years ago, and even met Dalai Lama, the highest spiritual leader of Tibet, and spoke of the encounter as a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Today, the two are close friends, but Gere can never forget the first time he met His Holiness.

“We started out with a little small talk, and then he said, ‘Oh, so you’re an actor?’” the Pretty Woman star recalled.

“He thought about that a second, and then he said, ‘So when you do this acting, and you’re angry, are you really angry? When you’re acting sad, are you really sad? When you cry, are you crying?’

“I gave him some kind of actor answer like it was more effective if you really believed in the emotion that you were portraying. He looked very deeply into my eyes and just started laughing. Hysterically. He was laughing at the idea that I would believe emotions are real, that I would work very hard to believe in anger and hatred and sadness and pain and suffering.”

His love for the “Roof of the World” affected Gere’s career a great deal and it all started when he decided not to follow his prepared speech during the Academy Awards ceremony in 1993 but used the occasion to protest against China’s occupation of Tibet and its “horrendous, horrendous human rights situation.”

Gil Cates, the Academy Award’s producer, swore to ban the actor from any future Oscar broadcasts.

Gere, however, didn’t care. He believed speaking his mind was more important of all.

Knowing how huge of a market the Chinese TV industry is, Gere missed a huge number of roles in successful movies only because the Chinese banned every project he was part of.

“There are definitely movies that I can’t be in because the Chinese will say, ‘Not with him,’” Gere explained.

“I recently had an episode where someone said they could not finance a film with me because it would upset the Chinese.”

It was one particular movie, Red Corner, which made Gere fully aware of how important China’s opinion was when it came to making movies.

“Everyone was happy with the film,” the actor spoke of the project.

“I get calls from the heads of the studio. Went on Oprah. Then, out of nowhere, I get calls saying, ‘We don’t want you doing press.’ MGM wanted to make an overall deal with the Chinese. China told them, ‘If you release this film, we’re not buying it.’ And so, they dumped it.”

In 2019, Gere found himself in the center of attention once again, this time because he tried helping migrants stuck at see. As it turned out, he was on vacation with his family when he learned that more than 100 migrants on board had been left stranded because Italy’s right-leaning Lega party leader, Matteo Salvinien, forbid the ship to disembark, leaving the migrants without food or water for days.

Gere and his son headed to the migrant’s vessel, but their boat wasn’t allowed anywhere near. That, however, didn’t prevent the actor from providing food for the scared and confused people.

Speaking of the event and how he angered the Italian government, Gere told The Guardian:

“We saw more than a hundred people on board. I felt ashamed that we have so much and are not able to embrace these fellow human beings, our brothers and sisters who were starving, traumatized.

“If they were told the boat was going back to Libya, they would jump in the water and drown themselves, and I felt it was our responsibility to bring as much light as we could.”

Eventually, the migrants got the permission to step foot on the soil of the Italian island of Lampedusa.

Now Gere is about to appear at court to tell what had really happened in a case against Salvinien who’s now accused of “using his position as the interior minister to detain the migrants at sea.”

“It’s very simple, I’ll just tell the truth; I’ll just tell what I experienced. I’m only here to speak for people who don’t have a voice. It’s not about me. I’m completely irrelevant here. I’m honest with you. I can be invisible. All I am is a witness,” Gere said in an interview.

Salvini was reported to have been extremely mad at the actor for taking a stand against him in the behalf of the Open Arms organization.

“First of all, I don’t know these people. I’ve never met them, but I highly doubt they’ve taken the time to go on a boat and have a human experience and understand the real people they have their influence over,” Gere told The Guardian.

“If they did that, then I think there’s probably another conversation to have. You see, I don’t see myself as a movie star. I’m one of 7 billion human beings on the planet, that’s it, no more. I’m no better or worse than anyone.”

“But in terms of the politics of it, I’m not advocating one way or another, of what the Italian people should do,” Gere added. “That’s completely up to the Italians.”

Whether you like his acting or not, we all have to agree that Richard Gere is one of the few people who are willing to put everything on the line for the sake of those who need his help.

Sam Elliott’s career and his current net worth

With a long list of movies under his belt, Sam Elliott is definitely one of our favorite onscreen cowboys.

His distinctive deep voice and his mustache added to his appearance which made him one of the sexiest men of Hollywood.

Elliott was born on August 9, 1944 in Sacramento, California, but his family moved to Portland, Oregon, where he attended high school and university, before dropping out after two years of studies. After that, he attended Clark College in Vancouver, Washington, where he completed a two-year program.

The actor knew that he would become one ever since he was 9 years old. His dad, however, who influenced Elliott to be the man he is today, wasn’t really happy with his son’s profession choice and would often say, “Man, this kid is going to go down the wrong path.”

At the start of his acting career, Elliott only landed minor roles, often as an extra, such as in the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

It was during the filming of this movie that he and future wife Katharine Ross first met. At the time, however, he felt like he had no chance with her. “I didn’t dare try to talk to her then. She was the leading lady. I was a shadow on the wall, a glorified extra in a bar scene,” he told AARP in 2015.

After appearing in a number of movies, including Mission: ImpossibleGunsmokeHawaii Five-OLifeguard, and Molly and Lawless John, Elliott made a name for himself and attracted fans from all over the world.

He and wife Ross met again on the set of The Legacy in 1987 and fell for one another. At the time, Ross was still married to her fourth husband, but divorced him and married Elliott in 1984. They welcomed a daughter that same year.

In 1985, while the couple was on their honeymoon in Hawaii, Elliott’s agent called him for he role in Mask. Ross called the agent back and told him she would make sure she has her husband back for the audition, according to The New York Times.

From that moment on, his career took off. Although he’s a versatile actor, he’s somehow always closely related to the Westerns in which he plays roles of both good boys and bad boys. “I think it has something to do with integrity and a man’s word and honor and all that kind of stuff — values, morality, all that kind of stuff that everybody looks kind of down their nose at,” he said according to Biography.

Speaking of his career and the movies The Big LebowskiRoad House, and Tombstone, he told Vulture in 2015, “That’s the big three. And it’s really because they repeat that shit all the time. None of them had great box office, and I wasn’t so good in any of them. You just can’t escape them. They keep showing up.”

However, after that, he was part of some equally big and successful movies that could be added on his list, like A Star is Born and the series The Ranch.

The actor, whose career spans over five decades and who is the recipient of several accolades, including a National Board of Review Award, and has been nominated for an Academy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards has a net worth of $10 million. Taking into consideration all his movies and work, many find this surprising.

Daniel Craig: Inside his private marriage with actress Rachel Weisz

Out of all the movie characters which left an everlasting impact in the history of film, that of James Bond is probably on the pedestal.

The secret agent working for MI6 under the codename 007 has been portrayed by some of the most famous names in Hollywood, Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and last but not least, Daniel Craig.

When Craig landed the role, he was already a famous name in the industry and seemed like the perfect choice. Well, he indeed was.

James Bond came to life through the books of novelist Ian Fleming, with the first one, titled Casino Royale, being published in 1953. Ever since, the fascination with the agent has only grew bigger and bigger. The story behind the name of what would become a prestigious role came after Fleming read the ornithological book entitled Birds Of The West Indies whose author’s name was, well, guess what? James Bond.

“I wanted the simplest, dullest, plainest-sounding name I could think of. James Bond seemed perfect,” Flemming explained.

As for Craig, he has always dreamed of becoming an actor.

“There’s an essay that my mother kept that I wrote at school when I was six, saying I wanted to be an actor,” he told Candis Magazine.

“I don’t remember writing it, but I do remember that I had a toy Winchester rifle and that my friends and I used to go out to the sand dunes, and we’d pretend to shoot each other and roll down the hills. I think that early pretending to be dead was the first acting I ever did!”

He attended drama classes and his love for acting intensified during high school so at the age of 16 he was accepted into the National Youth Theatre and later moved on to study at Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Being a struggling actor with the NYT, he was working in restaurant kitchens and as a waiter. He performed with NYT on tours to Valencia, Spain, and to Moscow, Russia, under the leadership of director Edward Wilson.

“I had a lot of fortune at the beginning with the National Youth Theater. It was learning the discipline,” Craig recalled when appearing on BAFTA: A Life In Pictures.

“If you were late, you got so much shit. It was truly priceless. I skipped drama school, and the first year was late all the time. I almost got fired three times, I made up a long excuse once, and a teacher said, ‘This is a bit wrong, Daniel.’”

His career started as early as 1991 when he made debut in The Power of One. What followed were some great pieces who helped him make a name for himself.

When it comes to his private life, he tends to keep it out of the spotlight. What we know of him is that he has one daughter, Ella Craig, with his first wife Fiona Loudon, a Scottish actress, but the marriage didn’t last long. After filming Dream House together with fellow colleague Rachel Weisz they fell for one another. They tied the knot back in 2011 and have been together ever since. Rachel has a son from a previous relationship.

“We did it privately. And I’ve got a lot of people to thank for that. But that was the point. We did it for private reasons,” Craig told GQ about his wedding.

“Because we didn’t want it f***ed up because that would be sharing a secret. And the whole point is that it was a secret. A secret is a secret in my mind.”

Shutterstock/Ga Fullner

She on the other hand also spoke of her marriage and she always does it with a dose of pride in her voice.

“I never thought I would get married,” she shared with Evening Standard.

“It was not an ambition of mine. It was the opposite. I couldn’t relate to romantic comedies – marriage seems to be the whole point of them. Then it just happened, happily, at a more mature moment.”

Neither, however, share any details about their relationship and believe that’s the key to success.

“He’s just too famous. It would be a betrayal. You have to protect your marriage,” Rachel told Entertainment Online.

“When you’re young, you tell your girlfriends everything. One of the great pleasures of not being an adolescent is that you don’t have to share everything. When you’re married, that door closes. The audience goes, and you’re in your own life.”

“Daniel and I are really similar. We’re just really crap at talking about our private lives,” she added.

Casino Royale turned to be one of the highest-grossing Bond films to date, making over $600 million worldwide.

What followed after Casino Royale were Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die.

Craig’s net worth is estimated at $160 million, but besides being that rich, he’s not planning on leaving any money to her daughter.

“Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?” Craig said, as quoted by The Times.

“I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what in today’s money would be about $11 billion, which shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it, too.

“I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go.”

Ella is famous in her own right. She’s a model and is involved with several charities.

Cher’s son Chaz Bono shares his mom’s concerns and feelings over his transition from female to male

From Chasity to Chaz, Cher and Sonny Bono’s son has been through a lot during his transition from female to male. The fact that his parents were internationally known celebrities had Chaz in the spotlight and everyone was familiar with the cute little girl with blonde curly hair and ponytails.

Chasity would usually appear at the end of her parents’ show The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour while the two sang “I Got You Babe.”

Sonny and Cher on their TV show.

As years passed by, Chasity could feel she was in the wrong body and came out as a lesbian in 1995 before she decided to transition to a man and undergo a surgery in 2008.

Cher had a hard time coping with Chasity’s decision because she felt she would lose her daughter. However, as time passed by, she accepted the reality. Speaking to PrideSource, Cher admitted it wasn’t easy for her as a mother and said, “I didn’t go through it that easily. Both times. When I found out Chaz was gay, I didn’t go through it that easily.”

Then the transitioning took place and it made things even more worrying for the singer. “When I found out Chaz was [transitioning]… we talked about it a lot, actually. But then Chaz didn’t mention it anymore, so I kind of forgot. And what I think is, there’s such a fear of losing the child you love, and what will replace that child.”

But Chaz knew he was different. “…as a child, I always felt there was something different about me. I’d look at other girls my age and feel perplexed by their obvious interest in the latest fashion, which boy in class was the cutest, and who looked the most like cover girl Christie Brinkley. When I was 13, I finally found a name for exactly how I was different. I realized I was gay,” he wrote in his book Family Outing: A Guide to the Coming Out Process for Gays, Lesbians, and Their Families.

Fans from all over the world were closely following the relationship between Cher and Chaz who were not on good terms during the first year of Chaz’s transition, and Chaz’s life journey. Finally, at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, people could see the documentary Becoming Chaz which was very emotional and had a scene where Cher speaks of hearing her child’s new voice for the first time.

“My mother went through a kind of mourning period. It was difficult for her, and we didn’t see each other for about the first year of my transition,” Chaz told SBS Australia.

Chaz Bono at GLAAD Awards 2012

Chaz pursued a career in the film industry and appeared in five episodes of American Horror Story: Roanoke and play Reverend Rydale on The Bold and the Beautiful.

After the transition, Chaz knew it was the time for him to turn to a healthier lifestyle. So, when he became part of the show Dancing with the Stars, he changed his diet which now contains mostly veggies, fruits, meat, and nuts and managed to lose around 85lbs.

”I would have never been able to do it before,’ he told Oprah Winfrey some years ago. ‘I was too disconnected from my body, and to, you know – the dysphoria around, that I had with my body was too much to be able to have cared enough about to do anything like that.”

Cher is now a proud mother and praises her son for choosing a healthy lifestyle. ”He did it all by himself. He made up his own mind and he did it. And it was like what — 85, 90 pounds. Wow! … I do not know if I’d have that courage.” Cher said.

We are very glad the relationship between Cher and Chaz is stronger than ever.

Stevie Wonder opens up about his life and how he lost his sight

The life story of Stevie Wonder, the prodigy kid who took the world by storm and is up until this day known as one of the most prominent musicians who have ever walked this Earth, is profound and inspiring to say the least.

This incredible man has never considered his blindness a disadvantage and has accomplished the greatest things in life.

Born Steveland Judkins or Steveland Morris on May 13, 1950, in Saginaw, Michigan, Wonder, who got the name because of the wonders he could do with the instruments from very early age, wasn’t born blind. He was, however, born prematurely and had to be placed in an incubator at 6-weeks-old. Sadly, because of a doctor’s fault, he was given too much oxygen which destroyed his sight.

He was diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity, which means that the growth of the eyes is aborted, causing the retinas to detach and leading to blindness.

Speaking to Oprah back in 2004, Wonder explained that he wasn’t mad at the doctor who gave him too much oxygen. He even said how he had once visited the hospital where he was born and was given an award.

“I don’t regret what happened because it made me who I am. But I’d love to see,” Wonder said.

Life with a disability has been challenging, especially when he was young.

Wonder recalled his mother cried a lot because of his condition, so when he was just five, he told her: “Don’t worry about me being blind, because I’m happy.”

“I said something like that. It bothered me that my mother was crying all the time. She thought God might be punishing her for something. She lived during a time when things were particularly difficult for a woman in her circumstances,” Wonder told Oprah.

“I used to say that if something happened to my mother, I wanted to die with her. That’s because I loved her so much. I want to live so I can carry out the essence of what she has shown me: kindness and goodness.”

Source: Wikipedia Commons

He recalled he was a curious child who was never afraid to try new things, including climbing trees.

“We had these woodsheds in the backyard, and we played a game where we’d jump from the top of the woodshed into the alley. Who could jump the farthest? The kids were like, ‘Go, Steve, go!’ but I guess I missed the moment when my brother Larry whispered, ‘Momma’s home.’ So I’m on top of the shed saying, ‘Are you ready? Here we go!’ And I jumped right into my mother’s arms,” he shared.

He started playing the harmonica and the drums from very early age, and he later discovered the piano.

At only 11 years old, Wonder released his debut album The Jazz Soul of Little Stevie, an instrumental, under producer and label founder Berry Gordy Jr.

Speaking of the time Berry Gordy Jr. discovered him and got fascinated with his musical abilities, Wonder explained how the deal could have failed, but luckily, that didn’t happen.

“It was a difficult point. The people there were excited about me being with them, but the lawyer my mother used was not that impressed with Motown,” Wonder recalled.

“There was some negotiating, and some guy there said to my mom, ‘Let me tell you like this: Stevie can either sign this contract, or he can spend the rest of his life selling pencils.’”

“My mother said, ‘I don’t give a damn what you say. My son will never sell pencils ever in his life.’ And the deal was off. I think Berry Gordy finally talked with my mom about the “misunderstanding,” and they worked it out.”

Many of Stevie Wonder’s songs are No.1 hits which have topped the charts all over the world. Among the songs he made, and which are touching the heart and soul, are Superstition, I Was Made to Love Her, Yesterme Yesteryou Yesterday, My Cherie Amour, For Once In My Life and Sir Duke.

When it comes to the future, Wonder is planning on moving to Ghana indefinitely in an attempt to protect his grand children and great-grandchildren from the racial injustice in America.

“I wanna see this nation smile again. And I want to see it before I leave to travel to move to Ghana, because I’m going to do that,” he told Oprah, as quoted by People.

“I am [relocating permanently], because I don’t want to see my children’s children’s children have to say, ‘Oh, please like me. Please respect me, please know that I am important, please value me.’ What kinda [life is that]?”

Wonder’s extraordinary life and career is the perfect example that no disability can stand on our way if we put our mind into accomplishing what truly makes us happy. Thank you Stevie Wonder for the joy you are giving to us with your incredible talent and music.

7-month-old baby freezes to death after mom left him on a balcony in sub-zero temperature for 5 hours

Devastating news about a baby boy left out in the freezing temperatures by his mother who forgot about him has shaken the world. Her negligence led for the little one to freeze to death.

According to the local media, the heartbreaking incident took place in the city of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur, Russia, and the baby in question was only seven months old.

Currently, authorities are further investigating the case.

It was reported how the mom put the baby outside on the balcony of the family apartment so he could nap in the fresh air, but she only remembered to check on him after more than five hours passed.

Russian winters are severe and on the day of the incident, the temperatures were -4 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 degrees Celsius).

The cause of death was hypothermia, a condition which occurs when the body loses heat faster than it can produce it, which leads for the temperature to drop very low.

Many parents believe that leaving their children nap outdoors during cold weather helps them avoid colds and coughs. However, after many media outlets have shared this story and the wide public showed their rage and condemned the irresponsible mother, Russian health authorities warned parents to never leave their children outside unattended, according to Fox News.

“Always know where and with whom [your child] is,” the ministry issued a warning in an Instagram post, adding, “Do not pass by if another child is in danger — in winter a child who is lost or injured on the street can very quickly become a victim of low temperatures.”

For a young life to be lost in such manner is beyond sad and tragic. Rest in peace little angel.

Mother outraged after finding her 4-year-old daughter superglued to McDonald’s toilet seat

A mother named Nicole Langmead and her four year old daughter Kaya were having fun time at the local McDonald’s restaurant when the girl felt the need to go to the bathroom. She asked her mom whether she could go all by herself, to which the mom said yes.

After all, the mother was right there, staying next to the bathroom making sure Kaya was all fine. However, she soon regretted the decision of leaving her daughter inside alone.

Nicole recalls that just before Kaya entered the bathroom, two girls were stepping out of it laughing hysterically. But that, of course, didn’t raise the alarm as it’s something we see every day.

At that point, nothing could really warn this mother of the danger that was awaiting her little girl.

Sadly, Kaya suffered serious injuries because those two mean girls they saw minutes before put superglue on the toilet seat. According to Metro, the little girl’s skin ripped from her legs and it caused her unbearable pain.

The McDonald’s staff acted quickly and provided help. Police was also alerted of the incident. They are now trying to identify and locate the girls. What they did was cruel and mean and they have to suffer the consequences of their careless behavior.

Nicole is now trying to spread Kaya’s story in order to warn other parents to be extra cautious when letting their kids alone to the bathroom of restaurants and other public places.

Doctor gasps seconds after delivering twins, looking down we see why!

Having a baby is exciting and stressful, but having twins is even more so, in fact, its one of the most exciting experiences to go through! It comes with its own challenges and sometimes serious complications with mom or baby.

Giving birth takes its toll in the body, one mom got the surprise of her life when it was time to give birth, even the doctors were in awe!

Around 10-15% of pregnancies are estimated to start with twins but, sadly, end up with only one baby. It’s called the “vanishing twin” syndrome, many mothers never find out even. It is more common to need extra care as a mother of twins though, more observations, and many things can go wrong too.

Sara Thistlewaite, a math teacher from Ohio decided it was time to start a family of her own with her husband. They were excited for the arrival of their tiny babies, identical twins, they had many many questions!

As it happens the twins were having a really rather rare set of twins, they were identical but monoamniotic twins, which means that they shared the same anionic sac inside the mom’s womb. That was a 1 in 10,000 chance that they had babies like this, straight away, they knew they were special!

….they didn’t expect a delivery as special as the pregnancy though!

Sarah spent over two months in the hospital due to her rare pregnancy, every single person concerned was interested in the rare pregnancy, she began to feel like she was under a microscope. But what she did not know was that it was about to get worse…

The couple, early on, knew that Sarah was set to have a C-section because the babies were completely together, right next to each other. The doctors thought said that it was a routine procedure and said that everything would be just fine.

The Doctors gaped in shock though, it was really apparent that what they were seeing was unusual…

Sara had a screen that covered what was happening and what the doctors were doing. She just wanted to hear her baby cry, it would indicate normal breathing and a successful birth had happened. But instead, she just heard noises of shock as the babies were taken from her womb.

The Doctors could not separate the babies to pull them out one by one so they took them out together, entwined into one. At first, they were not sure that the babies were OK at first, but when they looked closer they then realized what was really happening, the room then fell silent…

Her heart felt like it was going to beat out of her chest, she was impatient and demanded to see her babies now! With what they saw it was really obvious that the two already share a special bond.

The two babies came into this world holding hands!! When the doctor’s realized it along with the nurses they all felt a special touching moment. Everyone began to cry in joy and happiness, this really was one in a million baby birth!!

Thankfully there was somebody on hand to take photos of the babies and capture the moment forever in a picture, everyone wanted to know more, everyone was so touched, how special it really was.

The story about the coupe and their babies was featured in newspapers and magazines alike, nobody could get enough of the story and how it happened and the moments before and after the birth, plus of course the lovely photo of the babies holding hands!

The birth and indeed the whole pregnancy was a little scary, to say the least, but both babies came out healthy and with all their fingers and toes. The special bond they share is very obvious right from the start. The called the babies Julian and Jenna.

The girls really love doing everything together, even wearing matching clothes, the couple really has a hard time separating them.

Sara said:

“Sometimes if my husband goes to the store, he’ll take one twin and I’ll keep the other. When that happens, they both get really upset and ask for each other. They’re definitely really close. They’re like two peas in a pod.”

Although difficult at times, their parents really love them both equally, every step of the way, bringing up twins is a challenge every day!

What a wonderful in a million story, please SHARE this story if you loved it as much as us!

Teacher takes a seat on Santa’s lap totally unaware it’s her soldier son

Who wouldn’t want to spend the holidays surrounded by family and friends? I guess that is what every person is longing for, because not being able to experience that feeling of warmth and coziness of your place during the most wonderful time of the year might be the worst thing ever. After all, the holidays should be all about family and friends, and those we love the most.

Unfortunately, many people don’t get to experience the holiday festivities at home, usually because of their demanding job positions. Think of all the doctors, nurses, firefighters, and military men and women who spend endless hours and shifts helping those in need, and serving a whole nation. These people certainly don’t have it easy.

As a result of deployment many soldiers miss not only the holidays, but many times the birth of their children and watching them grow up, many birthdays, gatherings, and other special events. For these people, as well for their families, having a chance to make it home is the ultimate Christmas present.

The lottery would give the winner a chance to ask Santa for whatever they wanted for Christmas. In a video posted by KPC News, Superintendent Alan Middleton is in the middle of choosing the winner.

Specialist Ethan Harris did a tour in Afghanistan as part of the storied 101st Airborne Division, also known as the “Screaming Eagles” because of their patch.

A year after being away it was finally the time for this Specialist to reunite with his family. He got to be home for Christmas, and since it is the time of the year when we give presents, he got the idea of surprising his mom by doing something both emotional and fun.

Spc. Harris’ mother works at the Prairie Heights Middle School. It was the perfect place for him to show up and make her jaw drop. So he did just that, went to the lottery the school organizes each year, dressed up in a uniform, but not the one everyone is used to seeing him in.

Kim Harris, Spc. Harris’ mother, isn’t just a math teacher, but one of the best teachers ever. She is loving and caring and students simply adore her. She was told her son was already in the United States and she was anticipating to embrace him and tell him how much she missed him.

On the day of the lottery there is always a person dressed as Santa. This year wasn’t any different, everyone was gathered at the school cafeteria, the Big Old man was also there waiting for the people to tell him their Christmas wishes. That’s when the Superintendent Alan Middleton called Kim’s name.

He then told her to come in the front and sit in Santa’s lap. She was quite excited and laughing all the time. When Santa asked her what it was that she wanted for Christmas she replied:

“Peace on Earth and goodwill towards men.”

Although her wish list was long, the best present she could have think of was there already.

“My son is safely on U.S. soil.”

Santa then asked Kim where her son was, but when she responded “Fort Campbell,” he only had one more question to ask.

“Are you sure?”

That’s when Santa pulled his beard down and revealed his true identity!

This mother’s reaction is priceless. She really couldn’t be happier knowing she will get to spend Christmas with her son.

Sandra Bullock slams those who differentiate between “adopted children”

What makes a mother? Is it just the process of carrying a child and giving birth or being there for that little bundle of joy and doing all you can to raise them into respected individuals?

Actress Sandra Bullock is a proud mother of two wonderful kids, 10-year-old Louis and 8-year-old Laila. Bullock was highest paid actress in 2010 and 2014 and was named The Most Beautiful Woman in 2015 by People magazine. In addition to that, she was on the list of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2010.

However, besides her successful career, she seems she’s most proud of being a mom.

Bullock’s kids are adopted, and people calling them “adopted children” is what makes her really angry. She believes that no child should ever be labeled in such manner, because she is a mother to these incredible children as much as any mother is to the kid she had given birth to.

During an interview with InStyle, the Oscar winning actress brought up the question about children who are adopted and said, “Let’s all just refer to these kids as “our kids.” Don’t say “my adopted child.” No one calls their kid their “IVF child” or their “oh, shit, I went to a bar and got knocked-up child.” Let just say, “our children.”

She tends to provide for Louis and Laila a regular upbringing and tends to keep them out of the spotlight as much as possible. Bullock knows best that being a mother is so much more than just giving birth and we all have to agree with her. Her kids are lucky to have her as a mom.

War hero passes away two days after walking his granddaughter down the aisle

Those who get to grow up with their grandparents by their side are one of the luckiest people there are because the elderly are the most caring individuals who unselfishly share with us the wisdom they have gathered throughout the years.

One bride from Poland and her loving granddad melted the hearts of the entire nation after a video of them walking down the aisle holding hands was shared online. The granddad, Bronislaw Karovsky, was a war veteran who received a number of awards for his bravery. Despite his fragile health, he accompanied his granddaughter Joanna to the altar while wearing his military uniform.

Mr. Karovsky was part of the Polish movement against the Nazis and participated in the Warsaw Uprising. At one point, he was caught by the enemies, but managed to escape. Shortly after, he was captured again and was forced to spend 10 years in prison due to his actions against the communist government in Poland.

After the liberation of Poland, he received numerous awards.

Sadly, just two days after his granddaughter’s wedding, Mr. Karovsky passed away at the age of 94. He will be remembered as a very special man who fought for his country. And for Joanna, she now has a video of a beautiful moment she shared with him to hold on and to cherish forever.

Geena Davis took some time off from the Hollywood spotlight and almost became an Olympian

Winning an Academy Award and a Golden Globe and having starred in movies dubbed iconic, among which Thelma and Louis, it looks like Geena Davis has a lot to be proud of. Her acting career is one of the most successful in Hollywood, although there were times when Davis kept herself out of the spotlight.

Recently, all eyes were on her after it was revealed that she and her fourth husband, plastic surgeon Reza Jarrahy, have reached a settlement agreement in their divorce nearly three and a half years after he initially filed for it.

Jarrahy is the father of Davis’ three children, daughter Alizeh Keshvar Davis Jarrahy, and twin sons Kaiis Steven Jarrahy and Kian William Jarrahy.

Jarray was reported to have wanted to split assets with Davis but she claimed that they were never legally married. A source claimed that the pair spent around $1.5 million on their divorce proceedings. She continued living in their California mansion, while he faced bankruptcy and was forced to sleep at friends’ places and even his car, according to media outlets.

Davis’ net worth, on the other hand, is said to be $30 million.

In the past, she could be heard saying how she doesn’t want her kids to pursue careers in the film industry. Davis herself has always dreamed of becoming an actress.

During her young years, she was into athletics and even played basketball for her school’s team. Later on, Davis pursued a modeling career and had to lie about her height, she’s 6-feet-tall, because as she once said, “believe it or not, you can be considered too tall.”

In 1997, after graduating from Boston University where she majored in drama, Davis moved to New York and worked as a sales clerk and waitress as well as a mannequin in store windows. During that period, she was featured as a model in the famous Victoria Secret Catalog, after signing with the Zoli Agency. This opened many doors for young Davis, and one of them, probably the most important of all, was the one leading to Hollywood.

“I knew I wanted to be in movies, as opposed to theater,” she told NPR.

“I decided that I would try becoming a model first because, at that time, Christie Brinkley and Lauren Hutton were being offered parts in movies. And I thought, OK, well, I’ll just become a model, and then they’ll just offer me parts because obviously, it’s so much easier to become a supermodel.

“It ultimately all worked out for me, but the likelihood of becoming a famous model was actually pretty slim, and I didn’t,” she added.

“I did get work, and it was through my model agency that I got my first acting job.”

Besides being part of a number of successful movies, including Beetlejuice, The Accidental Tourist, which brought her an Academy Award, the series Buffalo Bill, and many more, she’s also a women’s rights activist.

“There are going to be so many movies starring women, about women, female road pictures, whatever,” she said in a Q&A of the noise surrounding Thelma and Louis.

“I’m thinking, hot dog, let’s sit back and wait for all this magic change to happen. We’re still waiting. It really did not happen. It seems like every five years or so, there’s another movie starring women that’s a huge hit, and people say, ‘Well now certainly everything is going to change,’ and it really hasn’t.”

For a while, Davis changed focus in careers and turned to archery after she got fascinated with it after watching American Justin Huish win two gold medals at the Atlanta Summer Olympic Games. She trained very hard and even received a number of local as well as national awards. Her focus were the the 2020 Olympic Games, but despite her hard work, she fell short of qualifying.

The 65-year-old actress founded Geena Davis Institute on Gender In Media in 2004, a “non-profit research organization that researches gender representation in media and advocates for equal representation of women.”

Last year, she won the Academy Award’s Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her work.

“We’ve been doing it about 15 years now, and we can measure progress,” Davis said.

“There’s a lot of progress that needs to still be made for characters of color or with different abilities. And age is another factor. But I’m very excited that we are seeing progress.”

David Bowie is “not my late husband, he’s my husband,” says Iman who never wants to remarry

David Robert Jones, or David Bowie as we all know him, was considered a leading figure in the music industry and one of the most famous and most influential musicians of the 20th century. Unfortunately, this great man left this world in 2016 after a battle with cancer. He left behind a legacy and a number of iconic music pieces that would be around in the years to come.

Bowie had been married to entrepreneur and former supermodel Iman for 26 years. They had daughter Alexandria “Lexi” Jones together, who was still a teenager when her father died.

Today, almost 6 years after his passing, Iman spoke of the sorrow she felt and the presence of her husband that she feels every single day.

Speaking to Today, Iman revealed how her daughter asked her if she would ever remarry, to what she answered “no.”

“People say to me when they talk, ‘Oh I loved your late husband,’ and I said, ‘He’s not my late husband, he’s my husband,’ so that’s how I feel about it. This was truly the love of my life, and I just wait until I meet him again.”

In the process of helping Lexi deal with the grief, Iman realized she didn’t dealt with the grief herself.

“I had a daughter who was a teenager when her father passed away, so I was really more concentrated in helping her go through her grief,” Iman shared. “But I thought, oh yes, I did go through my grief, but I actually did not.”

“Last year I went to my house estate, this beautiful property that I haven’t spent time there since my husband passed away, and there I was stuck for the year and I was forced to deal with it,” she continued. “All of a sudden grief knocked on the door and became a companion. And I went through all of it, and now it is the joy that I remember.”

Iman also recalled the time she and Bowie first met. Apparently, he felt it was love at first sight. She, on the other hand, needed few months to get there.

After their first date, Iman had to travel to Paris for a runway show. Once she entered her hotel room, she was stunned by the incredible sight. The entire place was filled with beautiful Gardenias that Bowie arranged for her. When she returned, he waited for her at the airport.

“Early on, we were walking down the street and my shoelace came undone and he got on his knees to tie it for me and I thought he’s the one,” she told People.

The muse of a number of designers, among which Gianni Versace, Thierry Mugler, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan and Yves Saint Laurent, paid tribute to her late husband by creating a fragrance named Love Memoir. It can be purchased exclusively at HSN and hsn.com.

“There are days that are harder than others but the memories are not all sad of why the person isn’t here. The memories are now of how great it was. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I had 26 years. So I have that to sustain me,” she said.

“I definitely feel his presence,” Iman added, “especially when I look out over the glorious sunsets at our home because David loves sunsets. So in that way he is ever present.”

What these two had was truly special. We are so very sad for Iman’s loss. Rest in peace, David Bowie, you live through your music.

Man takes chance on jobless handyman standing on side of road begging for a job

The ongoing pandemic imposed “a new normal” where we are expected to limit the social contacts to the minimum. A number of businesses were forced to close down and that left millions of people jobless and struggling to make ends meet. One of those affected by the pandemic was a man named Robert Simpson who not only experienced a hard time landing a job, but lost his home too. He and his girlfriend, along with her 6-year-old son, were forced to move into a hotel where they pay rent. But with his only income being his disability check of $1,000 a month, living was hard.

Unable to provide for his family, Robert decided to try his luck by standing at a corner at the Hurstbourne exit off Interstate 64 in Louisville with a sign in his hands saying, “Handyman. 25 years exp. Need work.”

Source: YouTube/ WLKY News Louisville

He stood there for days before someone snapped a photo of him and shared it on Instagram along with the caption, “This man was out on Hurstborne (Louisville, Ky) today. He isn’t asking for money, he just wants to work. If you know any businesses that may be in need of a handyman please pass his number on.”

Luckily, the photo caught the attention of the right person, Kyle Kark, the owner of Greenstar Home Remodeling, company offering remodeling services, mainly of offices.

Even though he had never met Robert before, Kyle decided to give him a call and offer him a steady job. Just what Robert needed and hoped for.

Speaking to WLKY News Louisville, Robert said, “It feels excellent. It’s a blessing. I didn’t even ask him what he was paying. I just came. And he’s been taking care of me ever since.”

Kyle even drives Robert to work every day as he doesn’t have a car. On top of that, Kyle organized a fundraiser to help Robert with his rent and to ease his life even further.

“Green Star Home has had the honor and privilege to work with Rob the Handyman today,” the GoFundMe page read.

“Though we will continue to help Rob and his family out when and where we can, we ask our community to also provide the much needed support.

Rob is a humble man and has not once asked for a dime he has not earned, but he and his family are without essential needs, such as a vehicle and a permanent place to stay, so it is Green Star’s hope that you will join us in supporting our neighbor Rob and his family by providing the funds needed to get him back on his feet.

We thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.”

The page helped raise over $24,000. One person who donated $1,000 wrote, “God bless you and your family. I am honored to help you to gain a fresh start. You are the best this Country has to offer! A real role model.”

Body of missing 2-year-old Emma Sweet has been recovered from White River

Rescue teams consisting of the Bartholomew County Water Rescue and Recovery Team, other water rescue agencies, as well as a number of volunteers, were searching for 2-year-old Emma Sweet after her father Jeremy was spotted by duck hunters in his partially submerged pick up truck last Friday. Both Jeremy and Emma were reported missing by the girl’s mother, but at the time Jeremy was found, little Emma was nowhere to be seen.

The extensive and thorough search ended up with Emma’s body being recovered from White River, some 2.5 miles downstream from where Jeremy was discovered. The body was found next to a pile of debris in the water, as reported by Yahoo.

Emma’s mother and uncle were also part of the search teams.

In a Facebook post on the Bartholomew County Sheriff page, Sheriff Matt Myers wrote while the search was still ongoing, “I have never in my 30 years in law enforcement seen such cooperation and teamwork in an investigation. I had no doubt that the men and women searching for Emma would find her.”

Speaking of the girl’s mother and family, the sheriff added, “I pray the Lord to comfort them during this difficult time.

“I again want to praise the first responders and all of those who came out to help search for Emma.”

It remains unclear how the pick up truck ended in the water. In the meantime, Jeremy was placed on the 72-hour hold.

Detectives spoke to him several times and he has given conflicting stories about how he and his daughter ended up in the water.

Once he’s out of the hospital, where he is being treated for hypothermia, he would be taken to the Bartholomew County Jail, as per sheriff Myers.

Rest in peace, Emma!

The short-lived marriage of Kenny Chesney and Renée Zellweger

Hollywood is the place where the magic happens. Besides all those glorious million-dollar worth productions, it is also known for the love stories of many celebrities who hope to find the right one in a colleague or a co-star. However, what is typical for most Hollywood marriages is that they don’t usually last, and the one between the Bridget Jones’ Diary star Renée Zellweger and country singer Kenny Chesney is an example of that.

From the very start, the public believed that this couple was a bit unlike. Renée was reaching for the stars at the time, while Kenny already had a number of famous songs under his belt, so they were both famous in their own right.

What they had in common was that they were both from Texas, but that wasn’t reason enough for their union to succeed.

The two were reported to have first met during NBC’s broadcast “Concert of Hope,” a tsunami aid telethon in January 2005. Apparently, Kenny learned that Renée was trying to “pass him a note.”

“When the broadcast wrapped, [Chesney] went over [to Zellweger] and said, ‘I hear you are trying to pass me a note — don’t let the principal find out,’” a friend of Rene’s told People.

Before this meeting, Renée was dating other people. She was shortly engaged to actor Jim Carrey and dated musician Jack White, lead singer of The White Stripes.

At the time, Kenny already had 20 albums and more than 40 top 10 singles on the US Billboard Hot Country, while Renée charmed the world with her roles in Jerry Maguire and the iconic Bridget Jones Diary.

Once Renée and Kenny announced they were dating, the news took the magazines by storm. Few weeks later, they revealed they tied the knot during a private ceremony at St. John at Kenny’s place in the gated community of Peter Bay.

“It’s a quick, surprise wedding, kind of a shocker for all of us here in Hollywood who did not see it coming,” Mark Steins of Entertainment Tonight wrote at the time.

What came as a bigger shock was that just four months after saying I do, Renée asked her marriage to be annulled. Neither of them wanted to speak of the reasons which led to the decision at the time, but over the years, they both opened up and tried to make things more clear.

Shutterstock

Apparently, Rene listed “fraud” as the reason for her marriage to be annulled, and that caused quite a stir because people started speculating that Kenny could be gay. The actress the felt the urge to comment on those speculations, saying, “the miscommunication of the objective of their marriage at the start is the only reason for this annulment.”

Further, she was reported to have told Celebrity Nine, “That made me sad. It made me sad that somehow people were using that as a way to be cruel and calling someone gay as a pejorative, which has fateful consequences. Of course, there’s the bigger-picture problem of why anyone had to make up a story at all.”

Some believed the problem started at their honeymoon. “Well, we did our honeymoon in Little Rock at a show. I had to go back on the road, so we went to Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Dallas and San Antonio. And then I flew here. So it was not that great of a honeymoon,” the musician reported back in the day.

During an appearance at Oprah, Kenny tried to explain what really happened between him and his now ex-wife. He said his life was sort of packed in a box, and Renée somehow didn’t fit in that box.

”I panicked. It was out of the box. Oh my God, but it’s tough. It really is tough, and she’s a sweet soul, no doubt about it, but I just wasn’t ready…. This is the first time I’ve actually talked about it, but that’s what happened.”

This, however, didn’t put a stop to the rumors, so in 2009, Kenny had an interview with Playboy, as reported by CMT News, and went further on to explain, “That is the most unbelievable thing in the world … What guy who loves girls wouldn’t be angry about that sh—? I didn’t sign up for that. I think people need to live their lives the way they want to, but I’m pretty confident in the fact that I love girls. (laughs) I’ve got a long line of girls who could testify that I am not gay.”

Although this celeb marriage was short-lived, it managed to cause controversy. We believe both Renée and Kenny are glad this period of their lives is behind them as they both continued be great at what they do when it comes to their professional lives.

Amber Rachdi became a role model for millions of people after she lost over 260 pounds on “My 600-lb Life”

Every journey starts with a single step, and the road to a healthier lifestyle for the “star” of the third season of My 600–lb Life, Amber Rachdi, was challenging and burdensome. It took this young lady five years for her to get her life back. This is her story.

Youtube/HealthyWays

Amber struggled with her weight basically her whole life. When this Oregon girl was just five, she weighted 160 pounds. She struggled with eating disorder that later led to anxiety disorder and anxiety attacks. Sadly, in order to calm down, Amber would always turn to food. She admitted she found comfort in eating and her parents cooked her meals whenever she was anxious or nervous.

When Amber was 23, her life didn’t resemble that of those her age in any way. While her friends were out partying, she was “imprisoned” in her home and had a hard time performing even the simplest of tasks such as getting down the stairs.

The only time she went out was when she and boyfriend Rowdy, who lived with her and her parents, went shopping together. Even then, she was moving around using a mobility scooter.

Youtube/HealthyWayse

The worst of all was that although Amber hated the condition she put herself in, she believed there was nothing that could be done and instead of turning to a healthier way of living, she would just eat more and more with each passing day.

“I’ve tried so hard, so many times, to change the way I eat. But I can’t. I’m already such a failure. Why not just keep failing? I hate being in public. I feel like a sideshow,” she said.

However, her wake-up call was when she was told that in case she doesn’t change her life, she wouldn’t likely reach her 30th birthday.

Youtube/HealthyWays

At the age of 23, Amber met the doctor who would change her life, famous Dr. Nowzaradan, also known as “Dr Now” who’s part of the TLC’s show My 600-lb Life.

However, on her way to Houston, Texas, where the show is filmed, she experienced an unpleasant situation. Her wheelchair couldn’t hold her and broke down, so her father had to wheel her through the airport in an over-sized luggage cart. On the plane, Amber was sitting on two sits and could hardly squeeze into the row.

Youtube/HealthyWays

Amber was hoping to get the so much anticipated gastric bypass to reduce her enlarged stomach, but that wasn’t as easy as she thought. Dr. Now said her condition was worrying and asked her to lose at least 20 pounds before he considered operating on her.

She was determined to continue her journey and her diet now consisted of mainly vegetables and chicken. Her family moved to Houston to help her stay on the right path, although her boyfriend continued eating junk food in Amber’s presence but she didn’t fall into temptation. Instead, she started going to the gym. “Starting to walk again has been difficult,” she explained. “It hurts and it’s hard.”

Youtube/HealthyWays

Amber lost 17 pounds, and Dr. Now decided it was enough for the surgery to take place. Her stomach was reduced from the size of a football to the size of a baseball. It was the new start she was longing for for so long, and she knew there was no going back if she wanted to be happy and healthy again.

Over the course of a year, brave and determined Amber lost 267lb, going from size 6X to 2X.

She said her journey was hard and described it as a “crummy experience,” according to the In Touch Weekly. “They exert a certain kind of pressure and lack a human touch sometimes,” she wrote. “They assumed we would be difficult and were rather forceful with their demands? It didn’t feel good, respectful, or mutually beneficial working with the production. There are lovely individuals on their payroll, and I met some incredible people, but it definitely wasn’t an experience I want to repeat.”

After Amber’s family got back to Oregon, she and her boyfriend stayed in Houston and could finally go on their second date outside her house.

“I surprised myself.” Amber said. “I’m shopping for myself, I’m eating healthy and I’m working out. I’ve taken control of my life.”

Amber inspired millions of people and was dubbed a role model by many.

Today, five years after her journey started, Amber is getting married to her new boyfriend, as she and Rowdy split but remained good friends.

She wants everyone to know that taking back control over your life is not always easy but it’s well worth it.

Speaking about her life-changing journey, Amber wrote on Instagram, “I was REAL fat. Now, I’m just normal fat. Life ain’t bad.”

We wish her only the best in life.

Girl raises $2K for veterans through her lemonade stand

Children have the purest souls. They always speak their mind and do impressive things. The parents of 8-year-old Sammie Striker of Saginaw, Michigan, have a lot to be proud of because of their daughter. You see, Sammie isn’t an ordinary girl who dreams of buying herself a bunch of toys and fancy clothes. She knows that somebody out there could use the money she earns for much practical purposes.

Sammie “runs” a lemonade stand and all the money she makes go to a special place, the VA Hospital in Saginaw.

Source: WILX News 10

Although she’s young, she understands the sacrifice of our veterans so she wants to repay them for their service in the most adorable way. Knowing she collects money for the veterans, most of her customers don’t ask for a change when they buy a cup of her juicy refreshment. Many leave $10 or even $20.

Last year, she sold 65 gallons of lemonade and made $1,500. This year, she set her goal to $2,000, and thanks to everyone who stopped by her stand, she reached it.

Sammie presented the hospital with a check of $2,111.

“They said that we need more people like you in the community because we can take all the help we can get for the hospitals and because there’s a lot of people that need help,” Sammie said of the hospital’s officials.

Jeffrey Wendt, an official with the VA Hospital, said that they are impressed with Sammie’s work and her dedication to her cause. “It’s a great message to other students and other young people to be as generous and as hard working as she is,” he said.

For next year, Sammie is hoping to raise $5,000 that she’s planning on donating again.

What a thoughtful thing to do.

Kidnapper grabs pre-teen, but soon realizes he messed with the wrong group of girls

Four girls who were out having fun and hanging out were suddenly attacked by one man who tried to kidnap one of them. He pulled the girl by the hair and started pulling her towards him. It was a moment of shock for both the girl in question and her friends.

“He looked really weird,” Allison Eickhoff told Inside Edition. “He grabbed me and he, like, covered my mouth and he grabbed my head. He said, ‘You’re coming with me,’ and I was, like, in shock.”

Source: YouTube/ Inside Edition

Luckily, the rest of the girls, among which Allison’s sister, acted quickly and prevented the worst case scenario from taking place all because of our favorite beverage; coffee. Having their huge cups of coffee in their hands, the quick-thinking girls threw them at the alleged abductor and started hitting him on the head.

“I grabbed my drink and chucked it at his head. I tried, I punched him in the head,” Lauren told ABC News. “Seeing that your little sister was going to get taken is very scary.”

The police arrived at the scene just in time to arrest the predator, 22-year-old Bruce Hipkins who has since been charged with a multitude of cases including unlawful imprisonment, assault and battery, and two counts of criminal sexual conduct. His bail was set at $250,000.

The girl’s bravery could also be seen on Hipkins’ mugshot, which shows his shirt visibly covered in coffee stains.

The girls’ dad, Aaron Eickhoff, has taught his daughters how to act in self-defense and his glad those lesson came in handy when they needed them the most.

“Punch ’em, kick ’em, anything to get away and always punch in the throat … they go and stop breathing,” Allison shared some of the tricks with Inside Edition.

Millington Police Chief Jason Oliver was pretty impressed with the girls’ act and how they saved themselves. “The girls thought fast and did the right thing by fighting back,” he said.

The girls shared a piece of advice with others, saying to “always fight back because you always have a chance.”

Donald Trump met up with Kyle Rittenhouse days after he was found not guilty

The trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, which ended with him being found not guilty, attracted the attention of the wide public. And while some believed he acted in self-defense the night he killed two people and wounded one, others were convinced he needed to be found guilty of all the charges and jailed for life.

On the night of August 25, 2020, Rittenhouse left his home in Antioch, Illinois, and went Kenosha, Wisconsin, holding a weapon. He claimed he drove to Kenosha in order to protect businesses from the rioters protesting against the police in the shooting of Jacob Blake.

Rittenhouse faced charges of first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree intentional homicide, amongst others, with the second of those carrying a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole. The entire time, he claimed that he killed his victims, Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber, and wounded third, because he acted in self-defense.

Amid his trial, a poll asked the public to take a stand, and the results showed that two-thirds of Republicans believed he should be acquitted, while three-quarters of Democrats thought he should be convicted.

After reaching a verdict and finding Rittenhouse not guilty, he went on to speak of his case, saying that it was a classic example of prosecutorial misconduct. In an interview with right-wing host Tucker Carlson, Rittenhouse said, “It wasn’t Kyle Rittenhouse on trial in Wisconsin; it was the right of self-defense on trial.”

He then went on to explain, “I believe there needs to be change. I believe there’s a lot of prosecutorial misconduct — not just in my case, but in other cases. And it’s just amazing to see how much a prosecutor can take advantage of somebody. If they did this to me, imagine what they could have done to a person of color who doesn’t maybe have the resources I do or isn’t widely publicized, like my case.”

One of the public figures who stood by Rittenhouse’s side from day one was former President Donald Trump. Six days after the trial started back in 2020, while Trump was still POTUS, he was reported saying, “He was trying to get away from them, I guess, it looks like. I guess he was in very big trouble. He probably would have been killed,” referring to the shooting.

Days after getting out of prison, not surprisingly, Rittenhouse paid Trump a visit at his Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida. The two shared a photo on Twitter on which they have huge grins on their faces.

After the meeting, Trump had an hour-long interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, during which, among the rest, he discussed meeting Rittenhouse and his mother.

“Kyle, I got to know him a little bit. He called. He wanted to know if he could come over and say hello because he was a fan, unlike the other guy,” Trump said.

Referring to the trial, Trump added, “He should never have been put through that. That was prosecutorial misconduct,” calling Kyle “a really nice young man.”

Most women dream of getting married to the love of their life and having their father walk them down the aisle. However, only the luckiest ones get to experience this joy.

William “Willie” Shelton, a U.S. Army veteran and a father of seven daughters, always hoped to walk his girls down the aisle on their most special day. Sadly, after he was diagnosed with brain cancer and was only given weeks to live, this dream of his became very distant, almost impossible to be fulfilled.

His wife Cheryl was devastated. The thought of losing her husband broke her heart, but there was still one thing she could do for him. As one of their daughters, Emily Flinn, got married at a courthouse before, Cheryl decided to organize a wedding ceremony in the family’s backyard. However, not only Emily, but the rest of Willie’s daughters were dressed in wedding gowns, and he got to walk each and every one of them down the aisle.

He won’t be there on the day they marry, but at least they will have one special memory of their dad to hold and to cherish.

The ceremony was organized in just three days time with the help of many kindhearted individuals, including David’s Bridal, Taylor Elchert Photography, and a hair studio, as well as local businesses and the LifeCare Hospice.

“We had this idea we put together in three days. We got all the wedding gowns for the girls and hospice helped us out a great deal with some of the planning,” Cheryl told Fox 8 News Cleveland.

“I always assumed that my dad would be there to walk me down the aisle and when the possibility was there that he wasn’t going to be able to — this was everything,” said Lindsey Shelton, one of Willie’s daughters.

Unfortunately, Willie passed away two weeks after the touching ceremony took place. He was 44.

Dying baby has only weeks to live, his parents are trying to complete his bucket list

There is no greater pain than that of losing a child. Watching your most precious jewel struggle and fights for their life while there is nothing you can do to ease their pain has to be the most heartbreaking thing ever. Unfortunately, some parents experience this heartbreak and are forced to say that last goodbye to their child.

Christine and Chris McArdle received devastating news when they were told their 9-month-old baby boy Brice had Embryonal tumors with multilayered rosettes (ETMR). He had to undergo a number of surgeries and chemo treatments, but that didn’t help much. Instead, the parents were told that there was nothing left to be done and that sweet Brice had between two to twelve weeks to live.

Instead of spending that time crying, Christine and Chris decided to make the most out of it and complete a bucket list which included a bunch of fun activities.

On Monday, they went to America’s biggest mall where Brice could spend some time playing at the kid-friendly attractions, including merry-go-round.

They also visited a science museum, a railroad museum, and had Star Wars experience.

Brice spent most of his final days at hospice and his mom and dad took as much time off of work as they could, with their colleagues donating work shifts and even money.

Chris said, “We got the news that basically it’s a done deal, we both just decided we are not gonna work. We are going to spend every waking moment with him we can and we trust God with the results of that.” Christine added, “All the things we imagined doing with Brice, all in one four to twelve week period. All the things we thought we’d be doing when he was a toddler, we want to do now.”

Unfortunately, baby Brice died on August 10 and left his parents’ hearts filled with grief. They are glad his last days were filled with fun. Rest in peace, little one.
