Four brave skateboarding teens save drunk 15-year-old girl from sexual assault

Sometimes, being in the right place at the right time isn’t enough to make things right. Often, it also takes courage to show you are ready to stand for those in need and for the vulnerable.

What seemed to be a night out like any other turned into an experience these four young boys will never forget. Arnaud Nimenya, Carsyn Wright, James Hielema and Starlyn Rives-Perez were skateboarding in an underground parking lot when they saw a quite unusual sight. A young girl, around 15 years old and intoxicated, had been forcefully dragged through the place by a well-dressed older man. This alarmed the boys who could feel something wasn’t right. The girl’s condition was pretty bad. She was so drunk that one of the boys recalls how “she was screaming and yelling. She just wanted to be out of there. She was all scuffed up and dirty.”

But, after the boys approached closer in hopes of helping the girl get rid of that man, he claimed he was her father. She didn’t really say anything regarding that so they decided to step back.

You don’t want to really think of the worst in somebody like that. You don’t want that situation to be real, so you just brush it off and hope for the best,” Wright said.

However, the boys’ somehow knew he wasn’t telling the truth so they decided to turn around and check on the girl once again.

CBC News

It turned out it was a decision that would help save this lady’s life.

Having returned back, they were completely shocked by the gruesome sight. The man was sexually assaulting the young woman who was helpless and couldn’t defend herself.

You walk in, and you see something like that, and you freeze. You don’t know what to do,” Nimenya, one of the young men, said.

They knew they had to act as quickly as they could so they ran towards the attacker. He started running and attempted to escape the parking lot.

He was trying to walk out and walk away from us,” said Nimenya. “He pushed me aggressively out of the way, kinda like just gives me the smile, like, ‘I can do this. You can’t do anything about it.’

These young heroes wouldn’t just let the attacker off the hook so they were determined to catch him. This ended with a physical confrontation after the man started hitting the boys with one of their skateboards. Luckily, the police arrived just in time.

The boys were glad the woman was now safe and sound. The police officers, however, wouldn’t allow the boys’ heroic deed go unnoticed so they decided to thank them for their bravery and courage by inviting them to the Chief’s Awards Gala where they would be presented with awards and the public recognition they deserved.

We are so proud of the way these young men handled the situation. They even risked their life for the well-being of a vulnerable and defenseless lady. You guys are our real life heroes and a true inspiration.

Mom takes a picture of son on military respite, the woman behind him in the picture has a surprise

The Armed Forces are, sure enough, a challenge, and having a son or daughter who are in the Armed Forces is both amazing and equally if not more so challenging in every way, especially about their safety and longevity. Which is why you take every chance to see your child as much as you can at every opportunity!

Heather Almond has this realization every single day because her son Gavin recently enlisted in the US Army and is currently going through the basic training there!

Heather jumped at the chance to spend a weekend with her son, of course, and quickly made her way to Fort Benning in Georgia to see him.

Facebook/Gavin Plowman

Just like any proud mother, she took her son out to lunch closeby at a sushi restaurant, but when she asked for the cheque something completely unexpected happened!

What happened next she just had to share on Facebook:

“This weekend I went to visit my son at Fort Benning with my daughter and mother. He is at basic training and it was a family weekend.

He loves sushi, so we found a Japanese restaurant.

Facebook/Spotlight

We probably ordered $100 worth of food and when we went to pay, the waitress said that the people at the other table had picked up or bill and they said to thank your son for his service.

They were gone before I found this out, but I happened to snap a picture of my son that had one of the people in the background.

I don’t know who she is, but I can tell you that it meant the world to us. We will find a way to pay it forward.”

These kind people have seen that Gavin was spending time with his family, in between basic training, and without even going over to them, wanted to help out.

Gavin’s family really will remember this moment for all time!

Grieving Golden Retriever receives Christmas gift to fill the void recently left in his life

Every dog needs a friend with whom they can have fun and goofy around. Unfortunately for Cash, a 12-year-old Golden Retriever, his best furry friend passed away.

The two were inseparable and would spend their days running around together, but now, Cash was all by himself. Although his human parents love him to the moon and back, it was obvious he missed Rosie very much.

Marie Ahonen, Cash’s mom, decided it was just about time to bring another dog in the house. With Cash always being the good boy he is, that would be his ultimate Christmas present. Plus, they will provide a puppy with a forever home, which means they’ll grant the wishes of two dogs this year.

Source: YouTube/ Caters Clips

The family made sure to capture Cash’s reaction on tape. As they brought the box with the puppy in the room, the big brother could feel something was going on and felt curious to check it out. Just as he approached to sniff it, the lid opened and a tiny head popped up.

Needless to say, the bond was instant. These two are bound to become best friends.

Check Cash’s reaction in the video below and make sure you share it with a dog lover.

911 operator gets call from a 7-year-old boy hiding in the bathroom with his little sister

Bravery knows no age and quick-thinking can surely save lives. Carlos, a 7-year-old boy from Los Angeles possesses incredible heroism and exceptional intellect, two things which helped a dire situation end up with a positive outcome.

One day, as he and his family were inside their home, armed men entered the place. They held Carlos’ mom and dad at gunpoint while he and his little sister managed to hide in the bathroom.

Without hesitation, Carlos dialed 911, just as his mother taught him, and asked for help. On the other side of the line was 911 operator Monique Patino.

Source: YouTube/ CNN

She could hear Carlos explaining how some bad guys had guns and wanted to kill his mom and dad. “There’s some guys! They’re going to kill my mom and dad, can you come please. … Can you come really fast? PLEASE, PLEASE,” Carlos kept saying.

Patino, who is doing her job for many years said that out of all the calls she has ever received, this one was by all means the most “horrific” one. She was very scared for the boy’s safety and kept assuring him that police were on their way.

“Bring cops … lots of them!” Carlos begged.

Source: YouTube/ CNN

As Patino was doing all in her power to calm Carlos down, she suddenly heard loud screaming. “Once I heard the screams, I’m holding the phone and shaking, in tears. All I can hear is them screaming,” she told CNN.

The armed people heard noises coming from the bathroom and broke the door down. When they saw Carlos was on the phone, they demanded to tell them who he was talking to and he wasn’t afraid to tell them straight away that he called the police and that they were on their way to his house.

In the next moment, the gunned men fled the house without hurting anyone.

Source: YouTube/ CNN

The Los Angeles County sheriff’s department praised young Carlos’ bravery. If it wasn’t for him, God knows what would have happened. His parents must be proud and very thankful for saving their lives, especially his mother who knows that the emergency lessons she taught her son weren’t time wasted but came in handy when they needed them the most.

8-year-old boy living in a shed spends mom’s last $12 to change family’s fortune

Life can be unpredictable. The truth is that we can never know what tomorrow brings and that is why we should never lose hope that things could turn for the better even if we believe that there is no way out.

The story of an 8-year-old boy named Aaron Moreno who had high hopes and dreams teaches us exactly that.

It turned out that this bright boy loved having Cheetos and ice-cream, two of his favorite snacks, but his mother had a hard time providing for the family. Being on her own, with children and jobless, she could hardly afford to buy her children ice-cream, so whenever the ice-cream truck would stop by the shed in which they lived, her heart broke into million pieces.

Source: Pexels/ Tanner Vote

“When I lost both my jobs in March because of the corona-virus pandemic and we had no option but to live in a shed, this kid was always asking for Hot Cheetos,” Aaron’s mom, Berenice Pacheco, told CNN. “It’s just $3, but when you have kids and you don’t have a job, it can make all the difference.”

Seeing his mom struggle, Aaron decided to do all in his power to help her. He also wanted his family to move out of the shed which didn’t have any bedrooms, bathrooms, or air-conditioning.

Using his mom’s last $12, Aaron decided to buy succulents and resell them.

“Our shed was hot and crowded and I wasn’t happy,” Aaron shared with CNN. “I started my garden so my mom won’t be stressed because I don’t like seeing her struggle.”

On the first day, Aaron managed to sell everything. He made little profit and decided to invest it in more succulents thus try to start a business. Both he and his mom would take a bus to the flower district to buy the supplies they needed for the day. Most times, they were selling from their shed, but occasionally, they would create pop-up shops.

Being proud of her son’s hard work, Berenice shared photos of him and his garden on Facebook. The photos gathered the attention of many and a friend decided to start a GoFundMe page in order to help the family.

The initial goal was to raise $1,000. Believe it or not, they ended up raising around $56,000, enough for a new place.

With the money, they were also able to bring Aaron’s sister home from Mexico.

“The best part of what Aaron has done for us is bringing back his sister,” Berenice said. “It was so hard being without her and we are a whole family again. And I was so happy to see they still had their amazing bond even if they spent so much time apart. It’s such a blessing.”

The succulents business is growing bigger and bigger all thanks to Aaron’s hard work and determination to improve his family’s life. He is now selling more types of flowers. What a thoughtful young man he is.

Neighbors gather together to get 70-year-old living in SUV with dogs an apartment

The number of people who are forced into homelessness is huge. Their life on the street is beyond difficult, but most times, there’s nothing they could do to change their fate. Luckily, there are always those who do, just like two women named Jennifer Husband-Elsier and her friend Melissa Akacha who stepped up for a women in need and changed her life.

70-year-old Lynn Schutzman had a great life. She worked as a pharmacists her entire life and was involved in a happy marriage. Sadly, all that changed when her husband of many years passed away and her health deteriorated. As a result, medical bills started piling up and she couldn’t make ends meet. Unfortunately, this loving woman ended up on the street and was forced to live in her SUV for over two years. The only companions she had were her two dogs.

Source: YouTube/ WBUR

One day, Jennifer Husband-Elsier took a notice of Lynn. In the days that followed, Jennifer saw Lynn parked at the Target parking lot multiple times and realized she was living in her car. The sight broke her heart and she knew she needed to do something.

The first thing that came to mind was to reach to the rest of the members of the community.

“Does anyone know anything about the elderly woman with 2 dogs that has recently been living in her car under the covered part of the Target parking lot? I spoke to the police and they said she’s been living like this for over 2 years in different areas of [King of Prussia]. … It’s an awful scenario. Really, really upsetting,” she wrote on the social media.

Source: YouTube/ WBUR

In no time, she got plenty of messages from people who shared her concerns. Many offered food and clothes, and although that was all very kind, it didn’t help solve Lynn’s problem.

Jennifer and her friend Melissa went a step further and started a GoFundMe page.

To their surprise, many people donated money and they were soon able to raise enough for a two year rent.

Before they told Lynn the happy news, the community gathered and decorated the place.

Source: YouTube/ WBUR

Needless to say, when Lynn checked it out she was over the moon and couldn’t hide her gratitude and the tears of joy which kept rolling down her face.

However, the kindness of the members of the community didn’t stop there. They bring Lynn cooked food and a bunch of things needed in order for her to function properly. Some even offer to walk her dogs, and Jennifer invited her over to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family.

“It wouldn’t have happened without these angels,” Lynn told ABC News. “I just want people to realize that this can happen to anybody. … I had a good job. I had good retirement but I got sick and health insurance only covers so much. … I have no children. I have no family. .. I had nowhere to turn. Sometimes, you know, just the kindness of strangers just makes all the difference in someone’s life.”

So touching and uplifting, don’t you agree?

Costco employee searches for boy after finding Christmas list with unique requests

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. It is the time when true magic happens and miracles take place.

An employee at Costco named Eric Barragan was cleaning the aisles when a crumbled piece of paper caught his attention. He thought it was garbage, but he then noticed the handwriting belonged to someone young so he decided to take a closer look. It turned out it was a Christmas list.

Source: YouTube/ CBS Los Angeles

He expected the list to contain everything young children love, like toys, chocolates, or even fun games. And yes, the person who wrote it wanted some shirts, Minecraft figures, Hot Wheels (but only two), a horror video game called “Five Nights at Freddy’s”, a wallet, and a Gamestop gift card. However, it wasn’t all. There were two things written down that not many children would ask for; “Bringing peace and joy to the world” and “Just love.”

Barragan was astonished. “Most kids don’t ask for those things, and I thought that was pretty special,” he told CBS 2.

Source: YouTube/ CBS Los Angeles

As the list warmed his heart, he decided to track down the young person who wrote it and give him some of the things he wanted for Christmas. Well, at least those he could buy.

The only problem was that he had no idea who that list belonged to, he only knew the name of the kid because it was written down. Barragan could go through the camera footage, but that would take quite some time, so he decided to share the list on his Facebook page.

Soon after, he got a message from someone who knew the boy’s family. The list belonged to Julian Huey, who had no idea Christmas would come early for him.

Source: YouTube/ CBS Los Angeles

Barragan bought a bunch of presents, including everything from the list, and paid Julian a visit.

The boy was over the moon. He was so happy that he had a hard time hiding his excitement. His parents were as thrilled by the kind gesture. Julian’s mom explained how the family had a hard time make ends meet because they were relying on just a military pension.

“I think I spent the first half of the last 24 hours just in shock,” the mother told CBS 2.

Sweet Julian said, “All I want, mostly, my biggest thing is a big heart to love everyone and bring joy to the world.”

Standing in the store queue customers watch in disbelief when a cashier pays for veteran’s groceries

Have you ever filled the conveyor with your groceries then realized you forgot your wallet, that tremendously embarrassing “oh sugar” moment! Maybe even one stage further, getting told in front of a crowded queue of people that your card has been declined!

One guy recently had to go through exactly this scenario, but he really did not expect what happened to him after that…

Flickr/Steve Snodgrass

Standing in the Dollar General queue was Tim McKellar, he saw a real sight, a hardly believable moment that he would remember forever!

Tim was waiting to pay for his groceries and the cashier scanned items from the elderly Gentleman in front of him, he was ever so proud and wearing a veteran cap.

When the guy gave his card for payment, he couldn’t remember his pin, his card was declined, poor chap.

Tim posted to Facebook:

“He tried a couple different times when another lady offered to help him again with no luck.”

At that moment the cashier stepped in and changed the tone of the day completely for this veteran…

Flickr/Steve Snodgrass

Working at the Dollar store, Jacob Wittman, at the cash register that day decided that he could not watch the guy swipe and it not work again, so he pulled out his wallet …his wallet!

Tim said:

“That’s when the cashier Jacob Wittman pulled his wallet out and told the lady (who had been helping) to scan his card.”

The veteran, was a little bit confused what was going on, he asked the cashier, have you just bought my groceries?

Jacob said:

“Yes, sir I did. And, you don’t owe me a dime.”

Tim felt so touched by what just happened, that human connection he just witnessed, he felt the need to record it and share it online, the world needed to see it too!

He said finally:

“Now this kid obviously makes minimum wage or real close to it and probably didn’t have the extra money to spare. I thanked him for what he had done, asked for his name and took his picture.”

“Let’s give this Good Samaritan the acknowledgment that he deserves.”

Flickr/Steve Snodgrass

The post got about 3,000 positive reactions and has been shared over 1,400 times, that is certainly the acceptance and congratulations that were deserved!

Some comments Facebook said:

“Such an awesome act of kindness. Sending you a big hug and many blessings from miles and miles away.”

“Jacob, you are a good-hearted young man. Thank you for helping the elderly and veterans. God bless you!”

“God bless you, young man. So many people could learn from you, what it is to show kindness. You are an inspiration to us all. Thank you.”

It is really lovely acts of kindness like this, one human reaching out to another, someone in need that inspires us to make a real difference in others lives and to perhaps do the same for someone else too.

Dad posts plea for 5-yr-old son in wheelchair who waits for bus in rain and group of teens answer it

Living with any form of disability can be quite challenging, and sweet Ryder Kilam, a five year old boy who is in a wheelchair, knows that best.

In order to get to school, Ryan uses the bus, just like his friends, but the difference is that they can easily wait for the bus to make a stop in front of their home while still inside and simply run towards it when they spot it. Ryan, on the other hand, has to wait outside, at the bottom of the sidewalk, otherwise, he could easily miss it because his house is around 75 feet away.

No matter if it’s sunny, rainy, or showy, Ryan has to stay outside waiting.

His parents, who make all in their power to ease his life as much as possible, take him outside earlier, but when the weather is bad, that doesn’t seem like the perfect solution.

One time, they placed a patio umbrella at the bottom of the driveway in order to keep him from the sun and the rain, but even slight wind would negate the covering of the umbrella.

Unable to find a solution to their problem, Ryan’s parents decided to ask the community for help.

It took a while, but eventually, the post reached just the right people. Professor Dan McKena from the Westerly High School who teaches construction technology though that getting involved in a project of building a “bus hut” for little Ryan would be of great importance both for the little one and his students. While doing a good deed, the students would be given an opportunity to put their knowledge into practice, so it seemed like a win-win situation.

“I think my first email was, absolutely we’re in,” professor McKena told WJAR. “We’ve done other projects before. I think it’s very important for my students to learn not only the aspects of construction but of being involved in the community dealing with people outside of the school environment.”

Home Depot also got involved in the project and donated $300 worth of materials. The rest of the expenses were covered by Ryan’s mom and dad.

The final result was a an ADA accessible structure perfect for the soon-coming weather!

Ryan’s dad said that his son loves his bus hut so much that he wants to spend time inside even when he’s not waiting for the bus. “He loves it, he actually after school makes us stay out here and hang out, now it’s his new fort.”

Thanks to professor McKena and his students, one sweet boy’s life became much easier. Thank you!

Brother asks to hold baby sister and starts to sing the sweetest song for her

When these mom and dad were about to bring the newest addition to the family home, they feared of the reaction of their older son. Neither of them could help but wonder whether the boy would love his baby sister. Would he feel neglected? Would he be jealous?

Luckily, they had nothing to fear about. It turned out that their son couldn’t wait to hold his baby sister in his arms. He loved spending time with her and taking care of her. However, one very special moment the siblings shared is what caught their parents’ attention.

As they placed her in his lap, the proud and overly excited brother started singing a very special song to her; “You are so beautiful.”

Source: YouTube/ mohdnaserhussain naser

Not many people are familiar with the story behind the lyrics of this iconic piece of music. It was written by Billy Preston and Bruce Fisher and celebrated Preston’s mother who was a stage actress. It meant a lot to the musician, so when he learned that Fisher used it during concerts to attract women’s attention, Preston felt appalled.

Years after it was written, musician Joe Cocker released a slower version of it and the song became his highest charting solo hit, peaking at number five on the United States’ Billboard Hot 100.

Until this day, it remains one of the most beautiful songs ever made, so the little brother singing it to his sister is beyond heartmelting.

We are so glad this emotional moment was caught on tape. You can take a look at it in the video below.

Elderly man gets greeted by “a friend” who crawls out of the ice every day

What makes a good friend? Is it someone you share similar interests or passions with? Someone who understand you and is there when you need them the most? Well. the truth is that friendship can sometimes happen between the most unlike friends. If you don’t trust us, just take a look at the following story.

A man named Seppo Laamanen from Finland, 65, got outside of his home one day just to spot a strange animal standing at his door. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he realized the creature was a wild otter. Clearly undernourished, it was obvious the otter was looking for some food.

Source: YouTube/ StoryTrender

Seppo was kind enough to give his visitor some warms and fish. Once the otter filled its belly, it went away. Seppo was sure it was a one time encounter, but he couldn’t be more wrong. The otter kept coming and started feeling more and more comfortable around Seppo.

Even today, the sweet animal pays its human friend a visit every now and then. Isn’t that adorable?

Teen saves bus driver and panicked classmates during emergency

We tend to believe that young people are careless. The truth is that most of them are only interested in hanging out with friends and having fun. But there are also those who pay close attention to their lessons and gather knowledge on different subjects, something that comes in handy when they need it the most.

A teen named Matt Stauffer from Carbon County saved the day and the lives of his fellow classmates thanks to his quick thinking and the emergency-related lessons he had at school.

Source: YouTube/ WNEP

That morning seemed like any other. He boarded the school bus and headed to his seat when he noticed his friends had strange looks on their faces. It was obvious they were frightened and confused. Matt had no idea what was going on, but he then became aware of the danger that was lurking.

When he took a look at the bus driver, Matt knew trouble would be on the way unless he reacted quickly. The driver didn’t feel fine and was leaning out of his seat.

Speaking to ABC affiliate WNEP 16, Matt said, “So I turned around, and the bus driver was like leaning out of his seat and only his seatbelt was holding him up.”

Source: YouTube/ WNEP

He rushed to the driver’s seat and noticed his foot was still on the gas pedal. Matt reached for the keys and turned the bus’ engine off. He then instructed the students to get out of the bus and called 911.

“Once they saw I was taking control, they all listened to me and they got off the bus and they all stayed in one area,” Matt said of his friends.

Source: YouTube/ WNEP

Luckily, first responders arrived just in time to take the bus driver to the hospital. He’s now feeling fine and is home resting.

Superintendent Dr. Brian Gasper told WNEP 16, “It’s refreshing to know that the students paid attention and employed the skills that we gave them last week, but also just snapping into action and the focus that he and the other students exhibited.”

As the school district is planning on expressing appreciation to Matt and the rest of the students, the teen says his act wasn’t heroic, he just did what he thought was right.

This is the coolest and sweetest story ever, also grab a tissue

We never know what plans God has for us, nor what life brings, but the only thing we know is that we should never lose hope that at the end things are going to turn just fine as long as we don’t stop believing in miracles.

This is the amazing story of Heather Crockett Oram of Utah, submitted by her. It’s about her life, her struggles, and her joys. She’s being honest when she speaks of her inability to become a mother of a child she would carry inside of her, which doesn’t make her less of a mother to the beautiful children who entered her life this way or the other. It’s so touching and sweet that you may not be able to hold your tears back.

“When I was 6 weeks old, I went to have an ultrasound for tummy issues and they noticed my ovaries were not hooked up right. The doctor at the time felt it would be best to remove them completely. When I was 13 years old, I found out I would never be able to have children. It was then that I started researching adoption. As I grew older my biggest fear was to have to someday tell a prospective spouse that I would never be able to birth our children. Then I met Jason. He was a single dad to 2 wonderful little boys and we fell head over heels.

Instagram/mariacamilaphoto

“Before we got engaged, I told him the biggest secret of my life. One that only a handful of people knew about me. I sobbed as I told him. He then grabbed my face and told me it didn’t matter how our children came to us. They would be OUR children. Last June we were approved to adopt. After a lot of research, we didn’t want to go through an agency. There were too many shady ones out there and they cost close to $55K when all is said and done. So we set out to do it on our own. We ‘marketed’ ourselves online and through social media. We made a Facebook adoption page and paid for targeted ads. We had an Instagram page with pictures of our life and we also put our profile on adoption.com. We were contacted by a handful of women and most turned out to be scams. Then we got a message on Facebook. A young woman emailed us telling us that her friend was pregnant and looking for a family.

“September 1st we got a phone call from this woman in Missouri and we talked for an hour and a half. Over the next month we built our relationship and became increasingly excited. However, she never got us official proof of pregnancy. People can fake ultrasounds and blood tests online all the time. I was ready to commit because I trusted this woman, but my husband wanted to renew our adoption.com profile one more time. We renewed it on October 1st and on October 2nd we got a message from another expectant mother. She had been watching our profile and wanted to meet us. Two days later we met in a little diner 20 minutes from our house. Just when we thought she had stood us up, in walked a very pregnant girl and her mom. We hugged and she showed us the ultrasounds of a little baby boy. He then started kicking and she had me feel her belly. Towards the end of breakfast she asked us how we felt. She then asked us if we would adopt her baby and love him forever. Jason and I sobbed. In the middle of a diner. In complete shock. 3 weeks later we stood there and watched as our son Andy was born. I was the first to hold him and kiss his tiny hands. That was October 30th, 2017.

“As we took Andy home and adjusted to being new parents, I had continued to talk to the first expectant mom we had matched with. She had still never given us proof. She had also told us congratulations and that she found another family for her baby. I was happy for her and we maintained occasional contact over the next couple of months. In January of this year I received a phone call from this same woman. She told me she had just told the other family she did not feel good about them adopting her baby. She then told me that she knew this baby was supposed to be ours. I stood there holding my 3-month-old baby boy and she sent me pictures of an ultrasound of the baby boy growing in her stomach. I was speechless. But I also knew. Deep down I knew.

“Over the next two weeks my husband and I prayed a lot about adding another newborn to our family only months apart. The same resounding answer came again and again. Six weeks after that phone call we flew out with Andy to Missouri and met a woman and her three children the night before she was being induced. We all instantly connected. The next day we stood at her bedside and watched as our son Ellis was born. Jason even got to cut the cord. I was first to hold him and again kiss his tiny hands.

|Never did we imagine having 2 newborn babies only 4 months apart. Adoption is an amazing thing. Because of a woman’s greatest sacrifice and selfless decision, I became a mom. To 2 of the most perfect baby boys I could have ever asked for.

|We have open adoptions with both of our boys’ birth parents. We talk and send pictures and recently met up with Andy’s birth parents at a nearby park.

“Four months after Ellis was born we had a strong feeling to reach out to his birth mom and she had mentioned they were in a rough spot. Jason and I decided to then fly her oldest child out to visit us for 10 days so he could spend some time with Ellis. Sean had never been on a plane or been that far away from his home. We instantly fell in love with this sweet boy. 10 days eventually turned into all summer.

Courtesy of Heather Crockett Oram

“At the end of summer, he asked if he could to watch his new friends try out for football. Before we knew it, he was talking to the coaches and asked if he could try out. Sean made the top football team for 8th grade in his first year ever playing an organized sport. He called his mom and asked her if he could stay. She said whatever would make him happy. Sean has now been living with us for 6 months and his football team made it all the way to playoffs.

Instagram/mariacamilaphoto

“Never did we imagine one year ago that we would be adding 3 more children in under 9 months (especially all boys) to the 2 that we already had. I have not given birth to any of the 5 boys we have at home right now. But I am their mom. We have since finalized both Andy and Ellis’ adoptions. They are officially Orams. We share custody with our oldest two boys and their mom. And we don’t have a timeline as to how long Sean will end up staying. Family does not have to be made from blood. It can come in many shapes and sizes. Love is all that matters. So here we are. A current family of 7. We love each other deeply. And go on a lot of adventures together. It is not always easy. There have been many ups and downs and everything in between. But we wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

Rescue Pit Bull singles out boy with cancer and runs over to him

Pit Bulls are most undervalued animals. They have a reputation of being aggressive, but that’s far from reality. This breed is so sympathetic, loyal, and caring, that they used to be considered nanny dogs and were often left to keep an eye on young children. Over the years, however, they started being used in fights which led for them to be dubbed hostile.

Aladdin is a very special Pit Bull who seems to posses power to sense when someone’s feeling down. This dog had a very tough life. Someone starved him so much in the past that he lost 12 of his teeth and experienced severe orthopedic issues which left him with permanently damaged knees, and as a result, Laddy, as his new mom calls him, can’t bend his legs. Despite all that, he is always there for everyone in need of a friend and some love.

After Michele Schaffer adopted Aladdin, she realized he could be a great therapy dog, and she was right. Shortly after he became a therapy dog, Aladdin received an award from the American Humane Association for the work well done.

Schaffer shared that one time, as she and Laddy were among a group of people and he got petted, he suddenly jumped and headed towards a young boy. As it turned out, the little guy had brain cancer, and Laddy could sense that.

Aladdin’s life story is so worth sharing because he’s a proof that no matter how hard things get, we should always find a reason to live for and be there for those who go through struggles.

The inspiring weight loss journey of actor John Goodman – This is how he looks today

John Goodman, like most famous actors, knew that he wanted to be part of the film industry from very young age. At one point of his life, he even considered becoming a radio DJ, but the theater and film seem to always be his calling.

During his college years, Goodman excelled in sports but an injury prevented him from becoming a professional, so he decided to move from Missouri to New York and try his luck at the theater. He rented a tiny apartment with his brother’s help and worked as both a bartender and a waiter while doing his best to get any role in any movie. Things didn’t seem bright at the time, but he never gave up on his dream of reaching to Hollywood, the Mecca of film production. “I knew that if I didn’t, I’d regret it – if I didn’t at least try,” he said of his pursue of an acting career.

The number of auditions he went on led him nowhere as he couldn’t get a job. He was having no contacts and no agent, and according to him, things were terrifying at times.

“There were times when I’d run out of money,” he told The Guardian. One night, “I had some beans on the stove. I left them on the stove to simmer and I got locked out of the apartment so they were gone. And that was the last meal for a while.”

However, things started to change for the better for the aspiring actor. In 1977, he made his off-Broadway debut in the film Jailbait Babysitter. During the ’80s, he appeared in a number of movies, including Big River (1985), Raising Arizona (1987), and Antony and Cleopatra (1987). However, his breakthrough role which turned him into a star practically overnight was that of Dan Conner in the new ABC TV series Roseanne.

Back in the day, Goodman told People how he loved the role. “He’s like a lot of guys I know. In the wintertime they don’t work because construction is sporadic. I don’t want to have to stand for the American workingman, but if this guy’s gonna be one, I’d rather have him be semi-intelligent, not a dumb beast who sucks down beer all day.”

YouTube

He and the cast became very good friends and the on-screen chemistry between them transferred into their personal life as well, and it was probably one of the reasons why the series was a smash-hit and so much loved during the 9 seasons it aired. “We got along right off the bat,” Goodman explained. “We made each other laugh. That’s one of the keys to the characters: They really adore each other.”

Speaking of the fame he experienced, the actor said that he never really dreamed of being famous, all he ever wanted was to act. “I’m apprehensive about fame,” he told People. “I’ve known people whom it bothers a great deal, and I’m kind of a shy person. Lately people are starting to put my face with my name, instead of thinking I’m either somebody they went to high school with or did time with.”

In 1989, Goodman married Anna Beth Hartzog. “I went to this Halloween party, and she walked up to me and said, ‘Hi.’ I couldn’t figure out why anyone that pretty was talking to me,” Goodman told Elle.

They welcomed daughter Molly Evangeline Goodman in 1990 and the family lives in New Orleans, out of the public eye.

Throughout the years, mainly because there were times when he struggled to find a job, Goodman turned to alcohol and that led him to depression. He has also struggled with his weight most of his life. Whenever he was supposed to get on stage, he would experience panic attacks.

“Absolutely terrified, paralyzed. I couldn’t remember my first line,” he explained. “I was just sweating and I was about to say: ‘I’m sorry, folks, I can’t.’ And I opened my mouth and my first line came out and it [the panic] was gone, I don’t know where it came from.”

When he recalls the filming of Rosseane, Goodman says he remembers drinking on set.

“At first it was exciting,” he told Today. “Then it got frightening when I lost my anonymity. I got complacent and ungrateful. And after nine years—eight years, I wanted to leave the show,” he continued. “I handled it like I did everything else, by sittin’ on a bar stool. And that made it worse.”

Youtube/LateNight

Thankfully, with the help and the support of his wife, Goodman has been sober since 2007. He even went to rehab back in the day and managed to get control of his life.

Today, The Big Lebowski‘s star is leading a healthy life. With the help of fitness guru and personal trainer Mackie Shilstone, he lost around 100 lbs and is looking awesome. “This didn’t happen overnight — it’s been an ongoing process,” Shilstone told New York Post. There needs to be strategic planning. This time, he really wanted to do it.”

Goodman is one our favorite actors. He’s talented and versatile, and it doesn’t come as a surprise that his career lasts for so long.

In the foster world, an 8-year-old boy wouldn’t get anything better than this

This is the incredible story of a very special man named Michael J. Bowler who became a single father of a boy stuck in the foster system.

“‘I never asked for any of this!’ screams my sobbing eight-year-old foster son to his new therapist when he learns that, despite being on an adoption track with me, he must endure more therapy and more ‘services,’ which he’d been forced to be part of since the age of four,” Bowler recalled the star of his journey towards parenthood.

Instagram/Michael J Bowler

In 2015, he turned to Raise A Child event in Los Angeles in order to see if he could be an adoptive parent. Learning that despite being single he was legally allowed to adopt made Bowler’s heart skip a beat.

The boy he was supposed to welcome into his home was 8-year-old Ronald who moved from one foster home to another after he suffered severe abuse. He ended up in the system even before he turned 5, and his life was already hard even without the constant need to adapt to a number of foster parents.

After the first three hours spent together, Ronald asked for three more. When asked how he felt in the company of his potential adoptive father, the boy answered, “It’s like we’re the same person!” and Bowler felt exactly the same.

Instagram/Michael J Bowler

“Once he moves in, Ronald believes that, since he’s now in an adoptive home, he’ll be free of the constraints of foster care and, more importantly, that the adoption will finalize sooner, rather than later. It takes many weeks and numerous visits by his new team members before Ronald will even speak to them, hence the cry of anguish with which I opened this post,” Bowler continued his story.

Ronald experienced trauma after one of his foster fathers forced him to rewrite mathematical standards for hours, so the boy felt repulsive towards both math and writing.

On top of that, Ronald would hoard all his toys, even those which were broken. Bowler found out that it was a result of yet another trauma. Apparently, a former foster parent would accuse Ronald of lying and would cut up all of his stuffed animals as a punishment.

Instagram/Michael J Bowler

“Ronald is now eleven and his adoption was finalized, at long last, in January. After such a lengthy wait, with numerous roadblocks thrown into our path by his bio mother and a court system that sadly, puts the wants of irresponsible adults above the needs of children, his dream of the past seven years finally comes to fruition,” Bowler wrote.

“He told me when we first met, ‘I’ve wanted to be adopted all the time I’ve been in foster care,’ and, in his excitement, barely sleeps the night before that dream is to become a reality.

“On Adoption Day, I wake him early so we can get ready and make the hour-long drive to the courthouse. He sits up at once, grabbing me in a tight hug, gushing, ‘Today’s the day!’ I know him well enough to notice the look on his face and slight undertone to his voice – he’s been in the system too long to believe in the adoption until it actually occurs. We dress in matching suits and ties and Ronald, like most young boys, complains about his tie being too tight, while also beaming at the reason for wearing it.”

Instagram/Michael J Bowler

At the courtroom, the soon-to-be legal father and son were met by Bowler’s sister and nephew as well as Rich Valenza, founder and CEO of Raise a Child.

“When finally called upstairs, we enter a quiet courtroom with the judge examining paperwork on his desk. He doesn’t acknowledge us, but merely waits for our attorney to speak. This man has been an intimidating force in Ronald’s life since the age of four and has watched my son grow up in his courtroom over the years as he approved Ronald’s move from foster home to foster home. Not once does the judge speak to my son, congratulate him, try to put him at ease after all those terrifying court appearances in the past. As the judge reads out the declaration that Ronald and I are now a family, my son hugs me. I feel choked with emotion and he looks ready to cry with happiness,” Bowler continued.

On the way home Ronald told his dad that it was the happiest day of his life. It was definitely the same for Bowler.

Instagram/Michael J Bowler

The adoption was celebrated with a huge party attended by everyone who supported Bowler from day one. All of his family and friends were there, including Ronald’s friends from school and some of the foster care workers and social care workers who knew Ronald from the day he entered the system and did all in their power to help him find his forever home.

Instagram/Michael J Bowler

“As other friends arrive, they play giant Jenga, darts, beanbag toss, and Nerf wars in the backyard. Hearing the laughter and good cheer coupled with smiling happy faces, pulls my heart tight in my chest with happiness. We have food and a huge cake, which he cuts and dispenses to kids and adults alike. He opens presents and notes with amusement how many people have given us photo frames with the word ‘Family’ emblazoned on them. I remind him that today is a celebration of our family and he grins broadly.

Instagram/Michael J Bowler

“We have photos on display from the adoption, alongside a commemorative gift I gave him on Adoption Day: father-son bobbleheads depicting me as Batman and he as Robin (though I told him the “R” on his chest is for Ronald). Written along the base are the words “Family is Forever.” The artist custom-made these bobbleheads so the faces look exactly like ours and they will remain a fun reminder of the day we became an official family, even though he was my son from the moment he walked through my door and has never been treated as anything less.”

As the party was over, sweet Ronald told his dad that it was his second best day ever. Those words meant the world to the new father who embarked the adventure of parenthood.

9-year-old girl with an IQ higher than Albert Einstein’s and Stephen Hawking’s starts college

No matter how fast societies develop, it looks like it will take quite some time until we learn to accept those that are in any way different than us. As soon as we realize that being different isn’t something bad, but on the contrary, something unique and special, this world would become a much better place for those that now feel like they don’t belong there.

Meet Adhara Pérez Sánchez, a 9-year-old girl from Mexico City who has a higher IQ than that of Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

adhara.maite.perez.sanchez / Instagram

Adhara has always been quite different and not understood by those around her. Luckily, that didn’t include her parents who realized that their girl is somewhat special.

From very early age, Adhara was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, which is a developmental disorder included on the autism spectrum. As a result, she had a hard time fitting in and was often bullied by her friends. Her mom once witnessed how some of her classmates locked her inside a play house and started calling her “weirdo” and “oddball.” This broke her heart. She knew she needed to do something in order to protect her daughter. After all the teachers accused Adhara of not being interested in the lessons and with everything that was going on with the kids at school, the most logical thing to do was pull Adhara out of the school and home-school her.

adhara.maite.perez.sanchez / Instagram

Being given the opportunity to spend a lot of time around their daughter, Adhara’s parents realized she was overly intelligent for someone her age.

One thing led to another, and soon, experts realized the same thing. At the age of 5, this sweet girl finished elementary school, and at the age of 6, she already graduated from high school. Currently, she’s attending Universidad CNCI in Mexico where she pursues two degrees, one in industrial engineering in mathematics and one in systems engineering.

Her dream is to attend the University of Arizona and become part of NASA, thus visit the space.

Currently, she’s studying English in order to be able to study in the States.

Adhara was featured in Forbes México’s 100 Most Powerful Women.

Currently, this bright little girl who was considered odd and unfriendly in the past is working on developing a special bracelet that would read emotions and would help autistic kids who don’t speak to be able to communicate. It would also prevent seizures and other outbursts.

For Adhara to thrive and for her life to change drastically, it only took someone to see beyond her autism and accept her for who she is.

We are sure this special girl would achieve everything she puts her mind to.

Céline Dion reveals “deeply personal” documentary about her life is in the making

Whether it is singing, acting, writing, or something different, there are a lot of people out there who are truly talented but not everyone becomes famous. That’s because success never comes over night and only the most courageous and most determined individuals get to experience it.

When we think of all the celebrities whose lives are filled with fortune and luxury, we tend to believe that they had never struggled and everything was given to them on a silver platter. The truth is that most of them worked extremely hard in order to achieve their status and failed many times before they finally succeeded.

Before she became an international superstar, Céline Dion, who is now considered one of the best female singers in history, felt like an outsider and didn’t feel her best or looked her best. However, she was very talented and her parents knew that, so they decided to help her with her career.

One day, her mother sent a demo tape to manager and producer Rene Angelil, who would later become Dion’s husband. When he heard the recording, he gave them a call because he wanted to hear Dion singing in person. She was just 12 at the time and sang on a pencil, pretending it was a microphone. What Rene did after that encounter was ditch all his other clients so that he could focus on Dion’s career. He even put a second mortgage on his house in order to be able to finance her first album.

Dion rose to fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988. She represented Switzerland with the song Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi’ (‘Don’t Leave Without Me in Dublin’). The final was one of the most thrilling in Eurovision history, with presenter Pat Kenny joking, “I have to tell you that we employed Agatha Christie to write the script for tonight!”

Dion went on to build a tremendously successful career with song such as My Heart Will Go On, for which she received an Academy Award for Best Original Song, Because You Loved MeThe Power of Love, Where Does My Heart Beat Now and a lot more.

Dion and her husband Rene Angelil, who was 26 years her senior, had two twin sons together, Eddy, who was named after Dion’s favorite French songwriter, Eddy Marnay, and Nelson, who got his name after Nelson Mandela.

The boys were born in 2010.

“My greatest reward is my children. Unless you are a mum you don’t know what you’re missing or what it even is really. It felt for me that with all my children another heart grew inside of me,” the singer told Woman’s Weekly in 2013.

“I don’t believe in the umbilical chord being cut. For me it’s never cut, once you’re a mum you’re a mum for life  – it gives you true meaning to your life and it’s the most important job.

“Who cares if people like me as a singer or not, they can find other singers and there will be other singers. But no other mother can be a better mother for my children than me. My children trust me so much, they need me so much – that is priceless to me.”

Unfortunately, Rene passed away five years ago after battling lung cancer and that changed the singer’s life forever.

After his passing, Dion lost weight and her fans got worried for her health, advising her to start eating more. She, however, said she was feeling great in her skin. “I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy,” she told The Sun. “If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture. If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone.”

At the moment, the tour she announced is on hold because of the pandemic, but once this craziness comes to an end, she’s planning on continuing it. As for now, she will soon have her new show in Las Vegas.

Instagram/celinedion

Recently, during a press release, Dion shared that a documentary about her life will be filmed. The person behind it will be filmmaker Irene Taylor Brosky, nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary, Short Subject in 2009 for The Final Inch.

In a statement, Dion said, “I’ve always been an open book with my fans. And with [Taylor’s] sensitivity and thoughtful creativity, I think that Irene will be able to show everyone a part of me that they haven’t seen before… I know she’ll tell my story in the most honest and heartfelt way.”

Taylor also spoke of the opportunity to direct the documentary depicting the life of one of the best singers that have ever walked this Earth, saying, “Going on this journey with a legendary artist such as Celine Dion is an extraordinary opportunity for me as a filmmaker. Having access to examine her life and inimitable career, will allow me to create a multifaceted portrait of an iconic, global superstar, which I look forward to sharing with the world.”

We can’t wait to see this documentary.

Dad accidentally films his daughter dancing while the dog plays the piano

Nothing really beats dogs, don’t you think so? Not only they are cute and love you more than they love themselves, but no day passes by without them making you laugh. No imagine adding the talent for playing and singing on the list.

An adorable beagle-basset hound mix does exactly that. His family must be having tons of fun listening to him master the piano keys.

Source: YouTube/ Buddy Mercury

This very skillful four-legged canine is a rescue dog. His parents Laurie and Glen Wolfe, and baby sister, Eve, named him Buddy Mercury after the music icon Freddie Mercury and we believe the name suits his talent and personality just perfectly.

Source: Facebook

Buddy has showed his love for the piano since the day he set foot in his forever home. His parents noticed his fascination for the instrument and soon after he spent a couple of days inspecting that unusual object, he stood on his hind legs and started playing. It was obvious that going through the piano keys with his paws made him very joyous.

Now if you think this is unusual and special wait until you hear him singing. Yes, Buddy plays and howls at the same time and it’s fascinating to both listen and watch.

Source: YouTube/ Buddy Mercury

Buddy’s family enjoyed his ‘concerts’ so much that they though it would be pity if they don’t share his talent with the rest of the world. The videos of him rocking the instrument are going viral and people can’t get enough of the singing and piano-playing dog.

What’s most, he’s got a back up, and it makes the whole thing even cuter. His little sister Eve joins her furry brother every now and then dancing around and playing on a toy guitar.

People agree these two are the best band out there and we believe they are awesome, too.

Some say how the Wolfes are very lucky to be having such talented children.

“Super talented Buddy & baby! You have a dog prodigy & a baby dancer…what could be more exciting?” one person wrote.

“These two are way too CUTE! They both really know how to party!” another added.

Buddy’s family is lucky people are sharing his videos not because they try to make him famous but because they want to raise awareness about rescue dogs and how perfectly they fit in their new families.

“We want to help more animals get rescued,” Laurie said. “We only have so much space in our home.”

By sharing Buddy’s videos you are helping raise awareness of the importance of rescue animals adoption.

Kurt Russell to go under the knife following an “unforeseen medical issue”

Speaking of Hollywood’s greatest love stories, one of the first that comes to mind is that of Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn. In the past, the couple confessed that their decision not to tie the knot probably had a lot to do with the fact that their relationship lasts for more than 37 years.

Kurt is an incredible father to Goldie’s children, actors Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson, who never miss a chance to remind him just how important he is to them. Having in mind they have quite a destructive relationship with their biological father, Bill Hudson, they both consider Kurt their true dad and call him Pa.

Kurt and Goldie are also grandparents. They love spending their days around the little ones but they also find time for one another.

Shutterstock/ Denis Makarenko

The couple first met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine Original Family Band in 1966, when Goldie was 21 years of age and Kurt was 16.

“I thought he was adorable, but he was much too young,” Goldie said. “Then, years later we met up again, and I remembered that I liked him very much when I first met him. We both said we would never go out with another actor so it just shows you never can tell.”

Years later, during the filming of Swing Shift together, they both knew that was it. They were simply meant for each other.

In May 2017, the couple shared an incredibly important and sweet moment together which made us love them even more. Namely, their names were immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. When the starts were revealed, they kissed and made the public go aww.

Shutterstock/Kathy Hutchins

Being in their 70s doesn’t stop Kurt and Goldie from leading pretty active lifestyle. In 2017 a source told Closer Weekly that Goldie had been super focused on her diet.

“She always says you’re as young as you feel, and she still feels like a 30-year-old. She’s healthy and vibrant and comfortable in her own skin,” the source said.

Another insider added: “[Goldie is] doubling down on working out. She’s never really just committing to one solid routine. Her big word is ‘diversity.’ Every day is different so she never gets bored of her workouts.”

Speaking of her routine, Goldie herself revealed that she has her green juice every single day. “I drink my green juice every day! I do a lot of juice, I don’t put a lot of food in my stomach and I don’t mix my foods too much. So if I want to have like protein I’ll just eat a bowl of lentils, I won’t mix it with a bunch of stuff,” she told People.

Kurt is very active himself. He’s still filming and this year he’s about to appear in Fast & Furious 9 and the television series What If…?

Although he had never experienced any major health issues, Kurt will go under the knife this month. He was to be inducted into the Oklahoma City-based Hall of Great Western Performers in October of this year, but he won’t be able to attend due to “unforeseen medical issue.” In fact, he was planning on delaying the surgery, but doctors advised him otherwise.

As reported by the Oklahoman, the Christmas Chronicles’ star is going to have a hip surgery.

“I had hoped it could wait, but my doctors said it needs to be this September. As much as I hate missing this year, I’m grateful to the museum for being willing to move our recognition to 2022 so I can be there in-person to accept this great honor,” he said in the statement.

We hope everything will go smoothly with the surgery and we wish Kurt Russel a speedy recovery.

Sandra Bullock opens up about adopted daughter Laila’s foster care trauma

No matter how great the foster parents turn out to be, the thought of having to move from place to place can have negative consequences on the child’s mental state. Sometimes, it takes years for foster children to overcome the trauma of getting taken away from their families and being placed in the system.

Actress Sandra Bullock became a mother later in life. She adopted son Louis in 2010 and daughter Laila in 2015.

Laila ended up in the foster system early in life and at the age of 2 and a half, she had already changed three different homes. That experience made her scared and prevented her from trusting people. Dealing with Laila’s trauma took some time, and now the famous actress decided to open up about the ordeal her girl suffered and how she managed to help her overcome those fears of being abandoned again.

During an appearance on the Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk, hosted by Willow Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris, Bullock revealed how Laila’s trauma was visible from the beginning.

“I had my kids in my [walk-in] closet with their little beds because I was so afraid to not have them super close to me,” Bullock explained. “And I would walk in and I wouldn’t be able to find her. She’d be in the closet, with all her clothes on, she’d be on a book shelf, she’d be hiding and she’d always be ready to leave. She was always telling me she was leaving.”

She would always assure the little girl that she would always be there for her.

“My partner [photographer Bryan Randall] said to me, ‘When she’s been with us longer than she hasn’t been, I have a feeling we’re going to see a change.’ And you love by leaning in and hugging and holding and letting them know that they are not going anywhere,” Bullock said.

“I saw triggers happening on a daily basis that I could not identify ’cause I took it personally.

“It was really hard to separate yourself and not be hurt because all you wanna do is love, but guess what? Your love is not going to cut it right then and there.

“Laila would hide food. You know, and it’s survival. Absolute survival. And her spirit and just who she is has pushed forward beyond the triggers and the fears.

“They’ll come up for the rest of her life, they’ll be fears that she has, but she knows that where she chooses to go to school, I’m moving there. That’s the joke in the house. You guys need to pick the same college if you go, the same city to live in, because I’m gonna be living there,” the Bird Box star revealed.

Being a parent to an emotionally-damaged child was far from easy and Bullock needed to take classes that prepared her for the future with Laila, but it was all worth it.

“[Foster care] is a system that exists and people don’t know about it because it’s a difficult thing to talk about,” Bullock explained. “It gets deep and it gets dark. When I first went into the process myself, you have to prove that you’re a capable parent — you’re in the judgment cage. And I got halfway through it and I said, ‘I can’t do this.'”

Eventually, Laila started feeling like home and was able to accept her new, beautiful life. It took some time, but she eventually found her comfort zone and she’s now a happy child.

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman decided not to get a divorce despite separating in 2018

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman’s road to stardom was quite similar. Even before the two met and fell for one another, their lives were somewhat similar, and that could have been one of the reasons why they decided to get involved in a romance which lasted for around 40 years.

Both Danny and Rhea grew up in the east cost. He was born in 1944 in Neptune, New Jersey, while Rhea was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1948.

Ever since they were teenagers, they both dreamed of pursuing careers in acting. For Danny, that dream seemed elusive, not because of the lack of talent, but because of his height. He was often teased because of his appearance, but that would turn to be a feature that would add to his uniqueness.

After working at his sister’s hair salon for two years, Danny attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York where he took makeup classes. However, no matter the type of classes they were taking, each student was expected to perform a monologue, and Danny’s was so great that his teachers made him transfer to studying drama instead. That was the first step towards his bright and successful career.

Danny graduated from the academy in 1966 and moved on to Hollywood to try his luck as an actor. Becoming one didn’t come as smoothly as he expected or hoped for, though.

“I worked as a car parker, and I hung around the Sunset Strip with all the flower children,” he recalled. “I had long hair, and I wore a raincoat and sneakers, and I fit right in. But I wanted to act.”

Eventually, Danny returned to New York where he worked in plays off-Broadway. During one play in 1970, he met Rhea for the first time. She was also doing plays at the time and was hoping to find her place in the film industry.

Speaking of the time she first laid eyes on Danny DeVito, Rhea shared with the Daily Times, “He sang a song that didn’t make any sense at all. It was like a mating call. I knew I had to meet him if he wasn’t married. So we arranged a date.”

Well, the rest is history.

Just two weeks after their initial encounter, she moved to his Manhattan studio.

“He slept on the floor, and roaches would line up at attention around him. It’s like he was training them,” Rhea told EW about their place. “He made a Super-8 short, following a roach around.”

Youtube/CBS

At the time they started their relationship, they were both working hard on their careers, and the hard work paid off.

Danny starred in the now iconic film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and the legendary TV series Taxi. These films brought him numerous awards and nominations, among which a Golden Globe and an Emmy.

Rhea achieved success too. Staring in the series Cheers as waitress Carla Tortelli, she had her big breakthrough which helped her make a name for herself. She won four Primetime Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, received six additional nominations, and five Golden Globe nominations.

Danny and Rhea got married on January 28, 1982, and welcomed their first child, daughter Lucy DeVito, less than two months later. Their second daughter, Grace DeVito, was born in 1985 and their youngest child, son Jake DeVito, was welcomed into the world in 1987.

In 1996, Danny and Rhea stared together in the iconic film Matilda and started a production company together, Jersey Films, which produced some incredible movies such as Pulp Fiction and Erin Brockovich.

Their marriage seemed picture-perfect, but then in 2012, they announced they were splitting. That wasn’t the end, however. Rumors were that actor Michael Douglas, who is Danny’s friend, made them reconsider their decision. That resulted in the couple getting together again, but in 2018, they split permanently.

The reason behind this decisions remains a mystery as neither Danny nor Rhea ever spoke about it.

What is interesting is that even though they are no longer together, they never filed for divorce and are still legally married.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2019, Rhea said, “You know, we were together for 40 years. Forty years is a long time. You might have to do something else!

“I’m not getting divorced. No, no, no. What for? We do live separately. We see each other a lot too.”

According to the ex-couple, they are better off as friends than as spouses.

“I don’t know why it’s difficult for other people, but Danny and I have always loved each other, and we have three amazing children together,” she said. “We really agree on almost everything important.”

“[Our relationship] is much better because all of the tense stuff is gone. It’s not in your face; I’m not in his, he’s not in mine.”

Danny shares the same opinion as his ex-wife. Speaking to People, the actor said, “We’re friends. We’re happy. Everybody’s happy.”

Julia Roberts’ daughter Hazel, 16, makes her Red Carpet debut

Julia Roberts is one of the few celebrities who lead a very normal life. She has been married to cinematographer Daniel Moder for 19 years and the two seem to be very much in love. The pair has three children together, twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, 16, and a son, Henry, 14.

When it comes to their children, both Roberts and Moder try to keep them out of the public eye, and that is why we rarely see the kids attending any public events or sharing photos on the social media.

Recently, however, we got to see beautiful Hazel in the company of her father at the Cannes Film Festival in France in July 2021. The two were there for the promotion of the film Flag Day. Moder was the choreographer while actor Sean Penn was the director. And while Penn’s children had roles in the film, Hazel didn’t, but she still went to the event to support her father’s work.

What caught everyone’s attention was Hazel’s incredible beauty. While some say that she inherited her mother’s nose, many agree that she’s a spitting image of her handsome dad, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that she’s great-looking herself. Hazel has blue eyes and blonde hair.

She was seen wearing a pale yellow long lace dress and black Mary Jane shoes. Her make up was minimal and her hair was scooped back into a ponytail. A real lady!

It was very obvious that Moder felt proud of his girl and spent the entire evening by her side.

Whether Hazel or her siblings are interested in pursuing careers in the film industry remains a mystery because their parents don’t speak about their children often and tend to keep them out of the limelight, which doesn’t come as a surprise knowing how grounded Roberts is. Despite her enormous fortune, which is estimated to be around $250 million, she has never acted as a diva, but remained humble.

Hazel and her brothers had tiny parts in Robert’s movie Mother’s Day back in 2016.

Speaking of her children, Roberts told Harper’s Bazaar in 2018:

“I don’t think they will ever have a true sense of (my fame). I think I told you once when they were starting to figure it out, it was like, ‘You’re famous?’ And I said, ‘I think a lot of people might have seen the movie that I’m in or might know who I am.'”

She then spoke of the difficulties children face nowadays and added, “It’s different than when I might have said to my mom, ‘Mom, you don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today,’ even though she probably did. Danny and I really don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today. Sometimes my kids ask me things and I just say to them, ‘I’m going to say no, and I’m going to look into it because I don’t even know what we’re talking about.'”

It’s safe to say that Roberts and Moder make an awesome couple and are the perfect parents.

Baby boy found wrapped in his dead mother’s arms is the sole survivor in a plane crash that killed three

In a plane crash that took place in Ubate, Colombia, on October 13, Tuesday afternoon, three adults lost their lives. The fourth passenger, a baby boy, survived the fatal accident thanks to his mother who used her body as a shield. In those terrifying moments, when she was aware her life may end, all she thought about was how to protect her son.

The HK 2335-G plane was operated by the baby’s father, Fabio Grandas, who was a respected doctor involved in many humanitarian organizations which helped ease the life of hundreds and thousands of people from the remote part of the country. According to a translated report by ABC Aeronautico, the baby’s mother, Mayerly Diaz Rojas, was a lawyer who specialized in telecommunications law. The nanny, Nuris Maza, who accompanied them on the flight, was killed, too.

Fabio was reported to be part of the Civil Air Patrol for several years but wasn’t on a patrol mission at the time of the accident. The ongoing investigation found the engine documentation was up to date and the cause is still to be discovered.

The plane was supposed to land at the Guaymaral airport, before which an emergency was declared.

At the scene, baby Martin was found wrapped in his dead mother’s arms. He was transferred to the Fundacion Santa Fe de Bogota University Hospital and is reported to be stable. The parents left behind two other children who weren’t on the plane.

The statement released by the Colombian Civil Aviation Authority said, “a baby, who was also travelling in the aeroplane, is being attended at this time in an assistance center.”

Over the last few years a number of plane crash accidents have been reported in Columbia, as per Zenger. In an accident in 2016, 71 people were killed.

We are very sorry for the loss and we hope baby Martin will have a great life ahead of him. His mother will be always watching over him from Heaven.
