Pastor rescues woman’s casket unearthed during the storm

0

How far is someone willing to go in order to do what they believe is right? Some are willing to sacrifice it all for the greater good and I am convinced that it is because of these people that this world is a much better place.

This story took place some years ago, but we believe it is worth sharing because it speaks kindness and sacrifice, and that’s what most of us need during these tough times for the humanity.

When South Carolina was struck with floods back in 2015, it was considered one of the worst storms ever. Lives were lost and a number of homes were ruined.

As people feared for their safety and were desperately trying to find safe places to stay, one pastor did the unimaginable. His deed was praised by many and the story of his bravery reached headlines.

The flood didn’t spear the New Cannan Methodist Church in Ridgeville, and as a result, one casket started floating. The family of the deceased woman was looking at it unable to retrieve it.

Pastor Wayne H. Reeves waited for officials to take measures and pull the casket out of the water, but as that didn’t happen he decided to take matters in his own hands. He put on wedding boots and walked 300 yards in order to get to the casket, despite being warned by a Dorchester County sheriff’s deputy not to enter the dangerous water.

The woman was buried some five months before the storm hit.

Shortly after Pastor Reeves’ dramatic rescue, officials were able to pull out another casket, that of the deceased woman’s husband.

Later, both the unearthed caskets were buried again by the family.

Mom has a warning for other parents after playground craze leaves her 11-year-old son “looking like an alien”

0

Kids are very curious by nature and want to try different things. Well, we’ve all been there, done that, right? However, parents have to make sure they keep a close eye on their children as much as possible and teach them things in order for them to be able to make the right decisions when moms and dads aren’t around.

An 11-year-old boy named Tyler Broome suffered horrific injuries after he tried a YouTube craze known as “the roundabout of death” and now his parents are sharing his story in order to warn other parents of keeping their kids away from such dangerous stunts.

Apparently, Tyler took part in the game because he wanted to show his friends that he was fearless and that resulted in him being left unconscious, with possible brain and vision damage.

The injuries Tyler sustained can bee seen in fighter pilots or astronauts who can be subjected to extreme gravitational force, G-force.

The game is played by partakers sitting in the middle of a playground roundabout while it’s spun at high speed using the rear wheel of a motorcycle.

Dawn, Tyler’s mom, explained how her son and a friend of his were at the park when a group of older kids challenged them to take part in the game.

Speaking to the British newspaper The Independent, she said, “I don’t recognise my child – he is on the verge of having a stroke. Tyler sat on the roundabout, and the boy who came over was about 17. Tyler doesn’t know him, they are not friends. He puts his motorbike on the floor, gets the roundabout spinning at such a speed. When they all stopped, the group just cleared off – it is bullying.”

When Tyler was rushed at the hospital, doctor’s were shocked at his state. They said they had never seen something like that before and had to do a research and consult other hospitals before they started treating his injuries.

“The injuries were so extreme, he just looked like the Elephant Man. They have never seen it before, they are going to make a medical report from it. His head has completely swelled up, his blood vessels have burst, his eyes look alien. His vision is blurry. You can manage a broken arm but this? He doesn’t remember it, he doesn’t remember the detail,” Dawn said.

We hope sweet Tyler would be just fine and that he will never take part in any stunt that will put his life in danger. Please share this story to warn other parents of the dangers of this stunt and similar dangerous games.

11-year-old on period forced to bleed through clothes twice after teachers won’t let her use toilet

0

How horrible this is..

A mother of a young school girl from Bristol was recently left horrified after witnessing her daughter returning home from school with blood stains on her clothes. On two occasions, she bled through her clothes because she had no choice – her teachers would not allow her to leave the classroom. The 11-year-old pupil of Cotham School was humiliated by the incidents, thus she no longer feels comfortable to attend school while on her period.
After a few complaints made launched her mother on her daughter’s behalf, the girl has since been given a toilet pass.

“They should not be making young girls feel guilty because she needs to go to the bathroom and sort out her basic care. Now, she’s scared to go to school in case they won’t let her out of the classroom, that’s not what we should be teaching girls,” claimed her mother.

The first incident happened in September, shortly she began her new term in school. During one lesson, she politely asked to go to the bathroom due to her period but the female teacher said no. It was a non-uniform day and she was wearing light blue jeans – the blood stain was greatly noticable. Luckily, she had a long jumper which she used to barely cover it – much to her embarassment and horror.

Later on in October, a male teacher had again, refused to let her go to the bathroom and even told her that should she ask again, she would receive another strike against her name on the board and then be sent to the SL learning classroom instead. Yet, her daughter did not an apology from the school, and the whole issue was made to seem like it was her fault. A spokesperson for the school had argued that it was against school policy to let children out on toilet breaks unsupervised, plus they just needed to show their toilet passes. What do you think of this?

Dog saves paralyzed owner from freezing to death by his smart move

0

A man from Michigan got himself into a perilous situation that convinced him he was living through the last day of his life. He knew no one was around to help him except for his loving dog Kelsey who could hear her owner’s cries for help. But, could the dog look for aid and save the man’s life? Whoever owns a dog would give you a resounding yes. Take a look at this amazing story that is just another proof that dog is a man’s best friend.

Bob was spending that New Year’s Eve at his cozy and warm home with his dog by his side watching his favorite TV program. The two enjoyed the idyllic sight of the snow falling and covering the entire surrounding with a white, icy blanket. Unfortunately, that was all about to change.

As the fire was slowly dying, Bob went outside to grab some logs. He was making sure he doesn’t slip and fall, but it was way too cold and the paths were completely frozen so he did exactly what he feared of, he slipped on the sidewalk and broke his neck. As he tried to reach for help, he realized he was left paralyzed and unable to move.

Eventually, Bob didn’t have any energy left so he lost consciousness, but then out of the blue, a neighbor who heard the constant noise the dog was making decided to stop by Bob’s place and see if everything was fine. That’s when the man noticed Bob.

The neighbor quickly called the ambulance who were there in a matter of minutes and rushed Bob to the nearest hospital. When doctors saw his condition, they weren’t really sure whether he would make it or not, because his injury was pretty severe and on top of that, his body was basically frozen.

Luckily, their efforts resulted with a positive outcome. They were able to heat him and decompress his spine which helped in reversing his paralysis.

“I am so thankful for my two heroes,” Bob said in a statement, referring to both Kelsey and his neighbor. “They are truly heroes and I will be eternally grateful.”

If it wasn’t for Kelsey who was by her owner’s side throughout his ordeal who knows what would have happened to Bob. He was lucky enough to have such a loving and loyal furry pal in his life.

Take a look at the whole story in the video below.

Young boy comes across a cop and slips him a note – He reads it quickly jumping up from his seat

0

Noah is a nine-year-old boy from Florida who has a dream to become a police officer one day. He believes that what these men and women do for our community and our country is worth all the praise.

It was “Bring your kid to work” day at the restaurant where Noah’s mom works so she decided to bring him with her that day. As young Noah spent his day at Danny’s, he saw a lot of people walking in. Then, all of a sudden, he spotted a police officer entering the place.

The officer, Mr. Benitez, was about to have his lunch. He was all by himself and that was a chance for Noah to do something amazing for him.

The boy approached his mother and asked her if it was okay for him to pay for the officer’s lunch. His mom, Amanda, was surprised by Noah’s plan. Of course, she said yes and asked Noah why he wanted to do that, to what Noah replied that although he didn’t know who the officer was, he appreciated his service and just wanted to say thank you.

The waitress gave Noah the bill. With the help of his mom, this lovely boy paid it and then wrote on it: “I want to be you when I grow up. Thank you for your service.”

Noah then approached Officer Benitez while holding the bill. The officer was confused at first, but when he read the touching message, he jumped out of his seat and shook Noah’s hand.

Amanda then snapped a photo of the two, which was later re-shared by the Lakeland Police Department. Along with it, they wrote: “Well Noah, you touched all of our hearts today. Your support means so much to all the men and women who wear uniforms every day.”

As for Officer Benitez, he was very thankful to Noah and his mom for paying for his lunch and making his day. “[Noah] meant everything. He meant I was supposed to get up every morning and put on this uniform and go out there and do what I’m doing. You know? That means I have to keep trying to be a good example for all those guys,” the officer said.

Even though he’s still just a child, Noah understands the importance of the role officers play in our society. That is one of the reasons he dreams of becoming an officer one day. In case that happens, his mom Amanda says she would be one “proud mother.”

Man spends his one day off cleaning forgotten veterans’ gravestones

0

Every one of us honors our military men and women because we are aware that it is because of their service that we live in freedom.

Many find ways of paying tribute to those who lost their lives fighting for our country. Whether it is through memorial services, raising monuments, or simply by saying thank you, we can never truly thank them enough for their sacrifice.

One man from Tampa, Florida, found a beautiful way to honor the fallen heroes and now his story is going viral and is getting the attention it deserves. Andrew Lumish, who is a carpenter and runs a successful business, has only one day a week off. Instead of using it to take the much-needed rest, he cleans tombstones of fallen veterans in cemeteries around Tampa Bay.

Source: Facebook/ The Good Cemeterian

His incredible wok is documented on his Facebook page The Good Cemeterian. Each of the before and after photos he posts are unbelievable.

Lumish spends a lot of time cleaning the tombstones because most of them haven’t been visited by anyone in years and are covered in decades of mold and muck. Sometimes, he spends up to three months on a single thombstone.

So how does he do it? According to Do You Remember, Lumish first sprays a chemical called D/2 and then scrubs the stones using a brush before he rinses them with water.

One of the photos he posted online shows a gravestone of a veteran who died in combat in the late 1800s.

In his mission to honor the heroes, he gets help from his wife. She never misses a change to lend a helping hand.

4-year-old girl asks lonely widower at grocery store for a photo and changes his life

0

We know birthdays are those special days of our life that we want to spend with those we love the most. However, sometimes, our birthday can be someone else’s best day, as in the story about the older man who was greeted by the most adorable young girl on the day of her birthday. That is when Mr. Dan’s lonely life changed for the better, because now, he got to hang out with his new tiny friend. The way these two companions met is a heartwarming story shared on Facebook which touched lots of people.

The 4-year-old Norah was at the store with her mother, and the two were eager to buy all the stuff for the girl’s birthday party. While sitting in one of the carts, ‘driving’ along the store’s shelves, Norah spotted an elderly man.

Even though a couple of other elderly people passed by the mother and the daughter, it seemed like Nora got fond of this particular gentleman the moment she saw him.

She was more than happy to get closer to him and share the fact it was her birthday that day. She did it all happy and excited. At first the man had sort of grumpy expression on his face, but once he realized the young lady was talking to him, he started smiling and said “Well hello little lady! And how old are you today?” and then they chatted a bit before they waved goodbye.

But the young lady wanted to take a picture with the man, and since it was her birthday, her mother said yes and hurried to catch the man and ask whether she could take a picture of him and her daughter.

When they spotted him once again, Tara, the mother said “Excuse me, sir? She’d like to know if you’d take a photo with her for her birthday?”. He looked confused at first but he was more than happy to pose with the girl, and so “they posed together and then they hugged each other like they were long lost friends.”

After they thanked Mr. Dan for the photo and his time, he assured them that he was the one who should say thank you because it was obvious he felt really happy to interact with the birthday girl. He said that day was one of the best days he had in a very long time.

Tara was also deeply touched by his words, and she was glad her daughter made this man’s day so she felt like she should share the encounter with her Facebook friends, but little did she know that it would reach many more people among which one Mr. Dan’s friend who let her know that Mr. Dan had recently lost his wife and that she hadn’t seen him look this happy during those past years of his life.

Learning about the loss he suffered, Tara though it would be nice if she and her daughter reach their new friend again and spend some time together. Mr. Dan couldn’t hide his excitement of having Norah as a guest at his house.

Tara then added to her Facebook post by saying that the sweet elderly man will be part of their family, whether he likes it or not, but you may be guessing that not only he likes it, but that is something that completely turned his dull life upside down, for the best.

On the first visit “Norah brought him a framed picture of the two of them in the grocery store, pictures she colored (he put them on his fridge!), and a bag full of pastries and Butterfingers…if he doesn’t already have diabetes, he’s about to,”

Mr. Dan Peterson says little Norah hugged him firmly like there was no tomorrow, and he didn’t mind it.

Mr. Dan is now happy to welcome Norah any time she likes to spend some time with him. He is forever grateful to this special young lady who brightens his days.

Tara reveals that “he said that he hadn’t had an uninterrupted night of sleep for the past several months. Sadness and anxiety had made his mind wander at night, but since meeting Norah, he has slept soundly every single night. He said she healed him.”

Tara is happy to raise a child who knows how to treat elderly with respect, and she strongly believes that every parent out there should teach their children that those people are important part of our community and we have to do all in our power to make their days enjoyable.

Feel free to share this story with your friends, and put a smile on their face.

This Poor Man Was Rejected by A Rich Man’s Daughter. 10 Years Later, He Meets Her Again

This Poor Man Was Rejected by A Rich Man’s Daughter. 10 Years Later, He Meets Her Again

What are the qualities that you look for in a partner?

When I was younger, I preferred good-looking and funny men. But as I got older, men who were smart, understanding, and responsible became more attractive for me. I developed this preference because I wanted a loving husband who my future kids could look up to. However, there’s no denying that there are some women who prioritize something else when looking for an ideal partner – those who look for men who can give them anything and everything they want. Because of this, they tend to check the contents of a man’s bank account first before knowing their personality and character.

Such is the case of a popular story circulating online about a man rejected by a rich man’s daughter because he didn’t make enough money to support her lavish lifestyle. Ten years later, the two accidentally bumped into each other. The ending of the story is absolutely unexpected but it will give you a valuable lesson in life.

Read the one-of-a-kind love story below.

girl-dumped-poor-boy

A poor boy was in love with a rich man’s daughter.

Overcome with his love for the girl, the boy proposed to her. However, the rich girl derisively rejected him and said, “Your monthly salary is equivalent to my daily expenses. How do you expect me to marry someone like you? I can never love you so forget about me. Go find and marry someone else of your level.”

Despite being rejected so hurtfully, for some reason, the boy could not forget her so easily.

Roughly 10 years later, they ran into each other accidentally in a shopping mall.

The man, hearing those painful words from the woman he used to care for, held back his tears and said nothing.

Not a few moments passed when the woman’s husband came back to her side. But before the lady could say a word, her husband immediately recognized the man she was talking to and said, “Sir? G-good afternoon! I see you’ve met my wife!”

“Good afternoon too, Mr…?”, said the man.

“Mr. Carter, Sir!”
The husband then turned to his wife and said, “Dear, I’d like you to meet my boss. He owns the $100 million project I’ve been working on!”

The woman, left flabbergasted by the turn of events, was not able to say anything back.

The man just smiled and said, “Well, Mr. Carter. I’ve got to get going. I have important things to attend to. It was splendid seeing you today. Have a great day!”

For a minute, the couple just stared at the man as he walked away.
businessman-2Having been over her initial shock, the woman asked her husband in disbelief, “That was your boss?”

“Yes, dear. He’s a very humble person but his life is quite a sad story. They said he once loved a lady but she dumped him because he was just a poor boy back then. Because of that, he worked really hard. And because he’s smart, he became successful. Now he’s a multimillionaire who earns millions of dollars a month. Unfortunately though, he couldn’t move on from that heartbreak and remains unmarried still.”

The husband went on and said, “How lucky would that lady have been if she had married that man?”

The lady looked in total shock and couldn’t utter a word.

Morals of the story:

Life is short. Furthermore, it is just like a mirror – you can only see as much as it reflects. So don’t be too arrogant or proud by looking down on others because of their current situations. Things and circumstances can change with time.

Wish list written by a foster child in Oklahoma

0

Dreamcatchers for Abused Children is a non-profit organization devoted to reform of abused children. According to their website, their main goal is to “educate the public on all aspects of child abuse such as symptoms, intervention, prevention, statistics, reporting, and helping victims locate the proper resources necessary to achieve a full recovery.”

Recently, the organization shared a heartbreaking list written by a child from Oklahoma who ended up in the foster system after enduring severe abuse from both his parents who were heavy alcoholics. The boy never experienced love or the joys a childhood normally brings. All he ever knew was negligence and starvation.

Years went by before a neighbor noticed that horrible things were taking place in the boy’s home and decided to alert social services.

Once police intervened, the boy was taken to the Dreamcatchers for Abused Children organization who made sure the little one ends in a new and loving home.

Finally, when the organization found the perfect family and shared the great news with the boy, he made a wish list on which he included all the things he wanted in his new forever home.

Needless to say, the list melted many people’s hearts. Many took their time to comment how the things on the list are not something a child should dream of because they should have them automatically as most of them are just basic needs.

This is the list:

“Things I want in my family:
I want food and water.
Don’t hit on me.
A house with running water and lights.
I want love.
Mom and dad don’t fight.
I want no drugs.
Don’t kill my pets.
Help with school.
Nice clean clothes.
No lice. No bug in house.
Clean house.
Clean bed with covers.
Don’t sell my toys.
Treated fair.
Don’t get drunk.
Tv in house.
Let me keep my school stuff.
Nice shoes.
My own comb soap. Nice house and safe and heater coat.
Toothbrush.”

This list is a reminder that we should never take the things we have for granted.

Zoo staff worried panda would reject cub until motherly instincts kick in

0

The connection between a mother and her baby is the strongest there is. From the moment moms learn they are expecting, the love for their little bundle of joy grows more and more with each passing day. The same goes for animals.

When a panda named Min-Min gave birth, the staff at the ZOO needed to run some tests on the baby. Typically, the baby should have stayed with the mother right after birth, but in this case, zookeepers had to check on its welfare. They were aware that taking the little one away from the mother could affect their bond, but they simply needed to take the risk.

Source: YouTube/ BBC

As they made sure the baby was fine, they were ready to put it back with its mama.

“In these early weeks, panda mothers don’t leave their cubs, even when they need to eat or drink,” National Geographic explains. That is because baby pandas are completely helpless right after birth. They are blind and unable to regulate their body temperature on their own. On op of that, they don’t know how to crawl or hold themselves up. The little ones can’t poop or pee on their own either.

This is why everyone prayed for Min-Min to accept her baby.

Source: YouTube/ BBC

When they placed the little one in Min-Min’s enclosure, she showed little interest in it. She ignored the baby and turned away from it.

But after some time, Min-Min’s maternal instinct finally kicked in. She approached closer, took her baby in her mouth, and carried it over to a corner where she started cuddling it, making a mother and baby bond for good.

Mom of Texas school shooter begs people not to judge her son

0

Adriana Martinez, the mother of the gunman responsible for the deadliest school shooting in the US since Newtown, Connecticut, nearly ten years ago, begged for forgiveness for her and her son.

Speaking to the CNN affiliate Televisa, the mother said with tears in her eyes: “I have no words. I have no words to say. I don’t know what he was thinking.”

She spoke in Spanish and her comments were translated by CNN: “He had his reasons for doing what he did. And please don’t judge him. I only want the innocent children who died to forgive me.” She, however, didn’t say what those reasons might be.

Martinez’s son, Salvador Ramos, bought the fire arms the same day he turned 18. Before starting the fire at the Robb Elementary School and killing 19 children and two teachers, he shot his grandmother in the head. She’s currently recovering despite the severity of the injury she sustained.

Asked to describe her son, Martinez said that he was quiet. The gunman’s grandfather described him in the same manner when speaking of his grandson.

Ramos’ father, whom the shooter wasn’t particularly close to, told the Daily Beast: “I just want the people to know I’m sorry, man, [for] what my son did.

“He should’ve just killed me, you know, instead of doing something like that to someone.”

Following the shooting, Ramos was gunned down by a special agent.

Little girl asks neighbors to be her grandparents – Years later, she learns why they never had kids

0

A young woman named Katelynn Martinez had a friendly nature when she was young, but sadly, there were no plenty of kids around the neighborhood so she was bored most of time. Well, it was like that until she met two special people who remained a huge part of her life throughout the years.

Those people were Bill and Arlene, a couple living next door. The first encounter Katelynn had with them was when Arlene offered her some strawberries grown in her yard. Ever since, the girl spent plenty of time with the couple.

One day, Katelynn knocked on their door and told them how she needed to ask them a very important question. Both Bill and Arlene were eager to hear what the little girl had to say. She then looked straight into their eyes and said: “Will you guys be my grandparents?”

Source: Instagram/ humansofny

Of course, Kaytlynn was still very young and had no idea how much those words meant to the couple who never had children on their own, and with that, no chance to ever have a grandchild. They started crying tears of joy and gave the girl a resounding “yes.”

Bill then printed a certificate of adoption which said that they were both officially adopted by their new “granddaughter.”

Over the years, the three remained very close and the certificate stood hanged on the wall.

Source: Instagram/ humansofny

Bill and Arlene always encouraged Katelynn to be hard-working and attend college. However, when the time came for her to start college, she decided not to because it cost a lot more than she and her parents could afford.

Bill and Arlene told Katelynn that they were saving up for her studies the moment the three of them signed the printed certificate. That meant the world to Katelynn. At that point, she wanted to learn why her “adopted” grandparents never had kids on their own. The couple explained that they both came from difficult backgrounds and had a tough life. That made Arlene turn to alcohol, and up until the point she managed to overcome her addiction, it was already too late to have children. They also said that they regretted not having children until the moment she entered their life and made it better. They truly considered her the kid they never had.

Sadly, in 2013, just two days short of the anniversary of their adoption, Bill called Katelynn and told her that Arlene passed away. It was a huge blow for Katelynn who loved Arlene as her real grandmother.

During the funeral, Bill announced to the room that the greatest joy of her life was raising her granddaughter, Katie.

It is beautiful how these neighbors became a family over the years. Katelynn remembers sharing some of the best moments of her life with her grandparents and she’s forever grateful for everything they did for her and how much happiness they brought in her life.

Dog seen outside of store with a sign around his neck

0

The sad reality is that a huge number of dogs are being abandoned by irresponsible owners who simply decide they don’t want a pet in their life any longer. Most of these animals end up on the streets, while some find themselves at shelters. One such place was where a man named Steve Moore found his best friend, a three-year-old Golden Retriever named Jackson.

Whenever Moore needed to go somewhere, he would take sweet Jackson with him. However, as most shops won’t allow pets inside, and Moore didn’t want leaving Jackson alone inside the car, he trained him to wait for him while ignoring any distractions such as loud noises or passersby who feel the urge to get closer and pet him. The training involved a lot of trips and treats as the dog perfected his impulse-control skills.

These days, while Moore is running errands, he leaves Jackson outside with a cute sign around his neck which says: “Dad told me to wait here. Me waiting.”

These sweet dog is very patient and never leaves the place where Moore tells him to wait at. He just stands there until he spots his favorite human getting out of the store.

A number of people who see Jackson in front of Target with the sign around his neck assume he’s looking for a home or some food, but when they get closer and realize that he’s one happy and loved dog, they just smile and pet him on the head.

Moore says that he’s surprised at the number of people who would love Jackson to be their dog while just shortly ago he was a sad dog at a shelter that nobody wanted to give a second chance and a loving home.

5-year-old boy fails to show up at his friend’s birthday party – his parents get an unexpected ‘No Show Up Fee’ invoice

0

Five-year-old Alex Nash was invited to a friend’s birthday party at a dry ski slope in Plymouth, Devon, just before Christmas. His parents confirmed Alex’s attendance and the boy was looking forward to it, but on the day of the party they realized that Alex was double-booked and due to spend some time with his grandparents, which is exactly what the boy did.

Some days later, Alex’s parents, Derek Nash and Tanya Walsh, found a brown envelope inside their son’s backpack. When they opened it, they were left in complete shock. It was an invoice which required from them to pay a £15.95 no-show fee to Julie Lawrence, the mother of the child whose birthday party Alex missed.

“It was an invoice for a ‘child no-show’ fee for the party… and it was a proper invoice with full official details, even her bank details, and e-mail address, and name,” Nash told BBC News.

This is the invoice sent to Derek Nash after his son didn’t attend a children’s birthday party (Image: SWNS)

According to Alex’s mom, they didn’t call Lawrence to tell her that they changed their mind about the party because they couldn’t get in touch with her as they couldn’t find the invite. What’s most, Tanya even said how they weren’t sure if they had one.

Party guests enjoyed “three toboggan runs, a snow tube ride, and a hot birthday meal with ice cream or jelly during the Christmas holidays.” As Alex didn’t show up after his parents confirmed his attendance, Lawrence believed they were supposed to pay for the cost she made.

Nash said they weren’t happy about the invoice. He even told school officials about it and confronted Lawrence, saying she wouldn’t receive a penny from him. Lawrence on the other hand threatened to take Nash and Tanya to the small claims court because they refused to pay. She said they were supposed to inform her about Alex not coming to her son’s party beforehand as they had her contact details written on the invite.

The boys’ friendship fell victim to conflict. According to Alex’s parents, the two children no longer play together at school.

Toddler waits for garbage man to come by every Thursday – One day, she gives him a special gift

0

As young children, we are all blessed with pure hearts and some form of innocence, but as years pass by, these characteristics somehow fade away to some extent. Spending time with youngsters reminds us of those days and that is why most of us enjoy the company of the youngest members of our family, whether it’s our own children, grandchildren, nephews or nieces.

A toddler named Brooklyn is a typical child. Fun, loving, and caring. She makes everyone’s days a bit brighter with her positivity and outgoing personality.

Source: Inside Edition/YouTube

This beauty loves playing with her parents and everyone in the family, but there is one man she is particularly fond of, the garbage man. Every Thursday, Brooklyn stays by the window waiting for the garbage truck to arrive. Her parents say this is the highlight of her week. When she notices her favorite garbage man, Delver, she waits for him to wave her hi.

Her third birthday was celebrated on Thursday, the same day Delver collects the garbage in Brooklyn’s neighborhood.

She was waiting for him to arrive because she prepared a special gift for him, wanting to show him that he was her friend and that he was welcomed to be part of the celebration. She was about to meet him in person and she was looking forward to it.

The moment she spotted him, Brooklyn handed him a cupcake. He was very honored he was invited to the birthday party.

The following Thursday, Delver came with a bunch of gifts for his little friend. He even sent Brooklyn’s mom a video of disposing the garbage as Brooklyn was eager to learn what happens to it once it’s picked up from the neighboring houses.

The beautiful story of the unlike friendship between Brooklyn and Delver found its way to the social media. People were glad the girl never minded he was a garbage collector, she just recognized that he is a good man. This story is just a reminder that racism isn’t something we are born with.

Meghan Markle shares goodbye message to a loved one

0

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, shared a heartfelt tribute on the website of the animal welfare charity Mayhew, reflecting on the death of her beloved friend, Oli Juste.

Juste passed away on January 15, 2022. He and Meghan shared mutual love for animals and he was the one who introduced her to the work of the Mayhew, the organization she decided to support as a royal patron back in 2019, following her marriage to Prince Harry.

Earlier this year, her contract with the charity came to an end, but she said she would continue supporting the work the people there do for animals in need.

Oli Juste was known as one of the best dog trainers and animal behaviorists in Britain. Many remember him from his appearance on Channel 4’s Puppy School. He was also running a personal podcast, A Dog’s Best Friend, which featured a number of guests who were interested in making this world a better place for our furry pals.

Although it’s been four months since Oli’s passing, many learned of the devastating news just after Markle’s post.

“Every day there was another twist and turn, every week another update—which Oli and I would connect about: ‘What can we do? How can we do more? Look at the amazing work they continue to do,’” Meghan wrote.

“In his memory, we will be creating the Oli Juste wing at Mayhew, to shelter the animals who may have a harder time finding their forever homes.

“Because, much like Oli, they will never be forgotten, and they will always be loved.”

A number of people who knew Oli personally or through TV and social media took to Instagram to share their condolences.

“Oh Oli, I am sorry to hear this, and only just today. You were a most lovely gentle person and so much fun…,” one person wrote. “So shocked to be just reading this. I was literally listening to one of Oli’s podcasts today-with Beverley Knight. I’m quite new to his podcasts but absolutely love them and have recommended them to so many people,” said another.

He and Meghan didn’t only work together but were close friends too.

Rest in peace, Oli.

Shooter’s grandfather claims family had ‘no idea’ he’d two legally bought AR-15s

0

Grandfather of massive shooter Salvador Ramos, who opened fire at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, and took the lives of 19 young students and two teachers, claims that the family was unaware his grandson had two legally bought guns.

Ramos, who was eventually shot dead by law enforcement officers, went on the shooting rampage before shooting his grandmother, Celia Martinez, in the head. He then took her vehicle and headed towards the school.

Ramos turned 18 on May 16 and that same day he allegedly purchased two AR-15s with three hundred rounds of gun ammunition from a store in Uvalde, the Oasis Outback.

The shooter moved in with his grandparents after an argument with his mother, who allegedly cut out the Wi-Fi. According to his grandfather, Rolando Reyes, nothing about his grandson spoke trouble. He said that on the day of his birthday, his wife Celia, who is now recovering at a hospital after being shot, took Ramos to Applebee’s to celebrate his birthday. Reyes further claimed that neither he nor any other member of the family was aware that Ramos purchased the guns.

“I didn’t know he had weapons. If I’d have known, I would have reported it.” Reyes, 74, told ABC NEWS further revealing that his grandson was a quiet young man who sometimes worked with him. “Sometimes I’d take him to work with me. Not all the time, but sometimes.

“This past year he didn’t go to school. He didn’t graduate. You would try to tell him but kids nowadays think they know everything. He was very quiet, he didn’t talk very much.”

When Reyes’ wife was shot, he got a call from a neighbor telling him they heard a gun shot coming from his house. The grandfather rushed home but his grandson was already gone.

An Instagram friend of Ramos’ said that the teenager had sent him a photo showing a receipt for a gun he bought from Daniel Defense, a gun manufacturer, reported The Daily Dot.

Former President Jimmy Carter lives in his $210,000 house in Georgia and shops at the local Dollar General

0

Modesty is a virtue not many possess. One would say that it is hard to be grounded and modest once you’ve experienced the life of luxury, but that is definitely not true when it comes to the oldest-living former U.S. president Jimmy Carter.

This humble man and his wife of almost 75 years have been living in their family home in Plains, Georgia from the moment they left The White House back in 1981 and handed over the presidency to Ronald Reagan.

Historic American Buildings Survey (Library of Congress)

The house, which is valued according to Zillow at $209,996, was built in 1961, when the Carters welcomed their fourth child in their lives and needed a bigger place. Namely, Jimmy Carter has always dreamed of becoming part of the military, just like his father who served in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps during World War I.

Carter gained admission in the Naval Academy in 1943, the same time when he met his future wife Rosalynn. After he joined the Navy, the family moved places often, and it was back in July 1953 when Carter’s father died that they decided to go back to Georgia.

Carter left the Navy in order to take over his father’s business and work as a peanut farmer.

After serving as a president, Carter returned to his roots once again because he didn’t want to “capitalize financially on being in the White House,” according to Washington Post.

He never took any advantage of post-presidential popularity and was reported saying: “I don’t see anything wrong with it; I don’t blame other people for doing it. It just never had been my ambition to be rich.”

The Carters lead a very normal and modest life, and it has always been like that. What’s most, The Rolling Stone revealed back in 2011, that the former president shops at the local Dollar General.

Both he and his wife have been part of the Habitat for Humanity for many years and helped renovate around 4,300 houses in 14 different countries.

Speaking of his home, Carter said: “We feel at home here. And the folks in town, when we need it, they take care of us.”

They will be celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary this year. We wish them health and happiness in the years to come.

Mother dog is depressed after losing her puppies in a fire then they show her a litter of orphans

0

A very unfortunate event left one dog mother without her litter of seven puppies.

The barn where the dogs stayed and which belonged to Jessica Woodruff caught on fire one night. One of the heat lamps that was supposed to keep the animals warm broke down and the fire spread with great speed and intensity. Daisy, the dog, was desperate to save her babies, and she even tried getting inside the burning barn, but everything happened very quickly and nothing could be done.

Despite the puppies, four goats and a pig were killed.

Over the next few days after the accident, Daisy was completely heartbroken. She avoided her humans and the rest of the animals at the farm. All she did was looking for her puppies. Whenever she would go into the destroyed barn and realize the little ones weren’t there, Daisy would start whining and crying.

Jessica knew she had to do something for her dog, otherwise, she could lose her too.

Luckily, Jessica’s sister came up with an interesting idea. She posted on her Facebook page how they were looking for newborn puppies whose mother left so that they could foster them and pair them with the grieving mother. At the same time, another woman was looking for a mother dog who would help a litter of eight puppies survive after their mom passed away.

The tragedies these two families suffered brought them together in an unexpected manner.

Daisy was soon introduced with the puppies and her maternal instinct kicked in right away.

In the weeks that followed, Daisy was the puppies’ mother. She took awesome care of them and wasn’t sad any longer.

When the little guys were a bit grown, they were reunited with their owner. Well, except for the smallest one who stayed with Daisy and Jessica and was named Benji.

This whole story and the video below are way too cute and touching not to be seen and shared with friends on Facebook!

Imposter cop pulls van over and finds it filled with real police detectives

0

They say crime doesn’t pay and the following story certainly proves it. Well, the truth is that whenever we come up with a plan, we usually give it some thought. However, not every plan which sounds perfect inside our head can be executed the way we hope.

One day, what seemed to be a brilliant idea popped up in the head of a 25-year-old New Yorker named Valiery Portluck. He decided to put on a police uniform and pull cars over. He then sat in his black car which had emergency lights on it and stood by the road. As he noticed a van approaching, he blared his air horn and hoped the vehicle would pull over.

Source: PEXELS/TOMMY ROCKYHORROR

Well, that’s exactly what happened. But instead of making some money by pretending to be a real cop, Portluck got himself in big trouble. It turned out that the people inside the van were real detectives.

The Nassau County law enforcement officers couldn’t have been happier to see him, though.

In fact, they were looking for him as they received an anonymous call about a man on the side of the road impersonating an officer.

The moment he realized he did a mistake and that his scam was revealed, Portluck tried to escape but was caught after a short but an intensive chase.

This not so bright criminal was charged with three violations, first-degree criminal impersonation, second-degree reckless endangerment, and unlawful fleeing from a police officer.

His neighbors told the police that he was suspicious. Couple of days before he was arrested, Portluck was seen installing flashing lights on his car.

His plan backfired on him and he ended up in jail.

Internet troll calls boy with Down Syndrome “ugly” – his mother has the perfect reply

0

Every person is beautiful in their own way. Some people are a bit different than the rest, but those differences are what make them special and unique. In fact, it is the differences that make this world a colorful place. Unfortunately, the number of people who give themselves the right to judge others based on the way they look is huge.

The mean words, the stares, and the judgment will always be present. What we need to do is learn to ignore the mean comments and always see the positive in life.

One mom, who is a blogger and has a son with Down Syndrome, had the perfect answer for a stranger who called her boy ugly. Her words were praised by many and she received the support from thousands of people who got to read her reaction to the mean comment.

She published the letter on HuffPost before it was shared worldwide.

“Dear @JusesCrustHD,

“Since I started blogging about my son Quinn and his disability, I knew this day would come. There’s no shortage of trolls on the Internet who hide behind the anonymity of a screen name with the intent to be cruel, and I’ve seen their hostility many times before. In fact, in the wake of a recent robbery at the Down Syndrome Association of Houston’s headquarters, in which $10,000 worth of technology was stolen, there was no shortage of ignorant comments on the news story reporting the incident. One user asked, “how will they learn to count to potato?” Another claimed that wasting computers on “retards” was stupid anyway and that the organization deserved to be robbed. These comments, while offensive, simply serve to showcase people’s hate-fueled ignorance and aren’t worth my time. I grimace when I read them, but realize there’s little to be done about such stupidity. But last Saturday, you targeted my son personally and instead of being angry, I’d like to give you some advice: Don’t be a d*ck. It will come back to haunt you.

“I don’t want to make assumptions about you, but I can only guess that you know little about the helplessness that parents feel when caring for a sick infant with respiratory issues. Quinn was sick last week, but was feeling much better by Friday. We decided to sit in the backyard and soak up the sun after school. There aren’t many things in this world more beautiful than seeing your recently-ill child light up in a smile, and I snapped a few photos to celebrate his recovery, then posted them on Instagram with the hashtag “#downsyndrome.” I love to look through those photos myself in my spare time, because damn if those kiddos aren’t adorable. Of course, you feel differently because you, JusesCrustHD, found this photo and left a comment with one simple word:

“Ugly.

“The fact that you find my child ugly is one thing. You are entitled to your opinion.

“But the fact that you intentionally search #downsyndrome to find pictures to insult (sadly, Quinn is not the only victim of your behavior; I came across many other inflammatory responses) is both childish and sad.

“Your profile is also full of offensive posts and crude statements.
“In one such photo, featuring two kids with Down syndrome and the word “wiitard,” you get bent out of shape because many, MANY people called you on your prejudice.” the mother wrote.

“You claim it was a joke and that people should lighten up. But what about purposefully seeking out pictures of our children What about the fact that a beautiful photograph of my son was tarnished by your hatred? That’s not a joke. That’s cyberbullying. Needless to say, I reported your profile. This will not be the last time someone discounts my son because he is different. It will not be the last time someone makes a joke at his expense, but to actively seek out actual people to tease goes beyond cruel. It’s inhuman.

“I recognize that you want to see me get worked up about your little “joke.” I’ll be honest; it’s hard not to be angry about it, but I can’t allow myself to carry that weight on my shoulders. I can’t allow myself to feel anything but sorry for an individual with so little tact. Because in end, you will be the one to face the consequences of your choices someday. There are few people in this world who tolerate that kind of backwards thinking, and you’ll eventually mouth off to the wrong person. My guess is that you already have, which is why you hide behind a screen name.

“God knows there were plenty of cruel adolescent boys in my time: boys who took pleasure in pranks and jokes at others’ expense. There were even a few of them that were directed at me, but it gave me tough skin and I grew from the experience of facing such mistreatment. Maybe that’s why I’m willing to let this one go; I know where most of those boys ended up, and it’s nowhere I’d want to be. And as a teacher, I’ve seen kids like you crash and burn. Go outside. Read a book. Compliment someone. Most importantly, enlighten yourself; there’s already enough cruelty in this world, and anyone worth their salt should be striving to make this place better, not worse.

“I simply hope my own children learn to look past ignorant comments and actions and treat others with respect and dignity. We all deserve it, even you.”

She signed the reply “Proud Mama.”

Way to go mama! Quinn is so happy to have you in his life.

Peace and Love

6-year-old boy forced to eat lunch behind a screen because his parents dropped him off 1 minute late

0

Unexpected turn of events sometimes results in very unpleasant consequences. Even if these kinds of things are not due to our fault, we are put in a position to fight against them and endure the pressure of the circumstances. This was something that Nicole Garloff and her son Hunter Cmelo had to struggle with.

The six-year old boy was a student at the Lincoln Elementary School in Grants Pass, Oregon. He had been put in a bad situation where he was punished and shamed in front of the class for things he was responsible for. His mother, as usual, drives the boy to school, but one day her car just stopped working. This resulted with Hunter being late for school. He was late just few minutes.

Hunter knew that this will result with detention and he started crying. Neither he nor his mother were guilty for this situation, but it was up to them to face up with the consequences. The boy entered his classroom, but Nicole felt uneasy. During lunchtime she decide to check on her son in order to see if he is fine.

What she saw stunned her. Her son was separated from the rest of the students as a punishment. However, the punishment didn’t end there. He sat behind a white partition, unable to see the other kids and classmates. In addition, he had a cup with the letter ‘D’ next to him, which means ‘detention’.

Put yourself in the boy’s position. Alone, punished and publicly shamed. That must be very hard for Hunter. He was sitting alone and crying all the time. His mother was very angry when she saw this, especially since Hunter is one of the students who is rarely late.

“I WAS REALLY UPSET. I WENT AND GOT MY IPAD AND TOOK A PICTURE OF HIM,” SAID GARLOFF. “HE WASN’T TARDY SO MANY TIMES THAT HE DESERVED THAT.

People found out about Hunter’s experience through his grandmother’s Facebook page. She posted pictures on the Internet with the note:

“This is my grandson, Hunter. He’s a little first grader. His momma’s car sometimes doesn’t like to start right up. Sometimes he’s a couple minutes late to school. Yesterday, he was 1 minute late and this is what his momma discovered they do to punish him! They have done this to him 6 times for something that is out of this baby’s control! They make a mockery of him in front of the other students! The principal is responsible for this. His mom found him there, crying, and took him home for the day. Anyone want to help me flood this lady principal with calls telling her how inappropriate this is?”

With more than 75,000 shares, people spread this message very successfully. The school’s detention policy suddenly was in the public’s focus. The school district was flooded with angry messages and people attacked the school’s management.

However, the family was not quite aware of this and people’s reaction to their problem. They didn’t know that people were coming together in order to help the family. A big surprise was about to be given to the family.

Mark Cmello, the boy’s father, was worried that the car could not be fixable again. However, a very pleasant surprise came by the auto dealer and the community. They have bought the family a new car and they made sure the new car would serve them very well.

Local people, local businessmen and Bill Meyer, paid for the car maintenance and they even gave them $100 gas card.

Mark was amazed. He couldn’t believe that people cared so much about them. He said:

“I’m just blown away to see the community come together like this and see that there’s still good people out there.”

He also added:

“PEOPLE REALLY CARE” .

“WE WERE SO SHOCKED, IT DOESN’T SEEM REAL. I’M TRYING TO TELL HUNTER THAT THIS DOESN’T JUST HAPPEN TO YOU,” NICOLE TOLD ABC NEWS.

Mom Nicole, Hunter, and Bill Meyer at Kelly’s Automotive in Grants Pass via Facebook.

All of these happenings forced the school to change its policy and the way it functions. The school decided to established a supervised classrooms. These classrooms will shame in no way any of the students. Especially not in front of the others.

Take a look at the news report below about this story.

Jamie Lee Curtis says plastic surgeries made her feel worse, and that the changes were “humiliating”

0

Being the daughter of two famous names in the film industry, it doesn’t come as a surprise that actress Jamie Lee Curtis chose the same career path as that of her father Tony Curtis and mother Janet Leigh.

One would assume that Jamie’s childhood was a perfect one, but that’s not completely true. The fact that her parents were prominent actors was a burden through her teenage years because the media was much interested in their private lives and exposed many of their scandals. The news wasn’t always pretty. When Tony left Janet for a 17-year-old German actress, it was on every magazine’s headline.

“She [Janet] told me that she did the memorable scene on the train in The Manchurian Candidate the day she found out that Tony had filed for divorce,” Jamie said of her mother.

Instagram/jamieleecurtis

In 1975, when Janet left for Broadway, Jamie went with her and enrolled at the Connecticut Boarding school, Coate. Shortly after, she realized she wanted to be an actress just like her mother.

After taking some minor roles, Jamie had her breakthrough with John Carpenter’s legendary horror film Halloween when she turned 20. She was so good in the role of Laurie Strode that horror movies became her thing. Halloween established Jamie as a “Scream Queen” and opened the doors for her to a string of parts in horror films such as The FogProm NightTerror Train (all 1980) and Roadgames (1981).

Although she is awesome at playing in horror movies, she doesn’t watch any. “I do not like horror movies. I do not say this for a joke, although it gets a laugh, I really don’t,” she told NME.

Youtube/Movieclips Classic Trailers

She is the recipient of several accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards, a British Academy Film Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

While building her successful career, which allowed her to make a net worth of $60 million, Jamie also found time for love. In 1984, she married Christopher Guest, and they’re still together today. The couple has two adopted children.

Jamie first saw Christopher, who is best known for his role in Spinal Tap, while flipping through a Rolling Stone magazine, according to a piece she wrote for Oprah.com. “I looked at the man on the right, wearing a plaid shirt and a waggish smirk. I’d never seen him before, but I pointed at him. ‘I’m going to marry that man,’ I said to my friend.”

The two exchanged numbers through their agents, but he didn’t call her and she moved on dating someone else.

But then, she accidentally met him at a restaurant. “I glanced up and found myself staring straight at Chris, three tables away. He waved to me as if to say, ‘I’m the guy you called.’ I waved back: ‘I’m the woman who called you.’ A few minutes later, he got up to leave. Standing 20 feet away, he shrugged his shoulders and put up his hand as if to say, ‘I’ll see ya.’”

Jamie Lee Curtis is known as someone who is openly speaking against plastic surgeries although she had undergone certain procedures herself. According to her, those procedures made her feel worse about herself.

Shutterstock/s_bukley

In fact, she never considered going under the knife until a cameraman made a comment about her “puffy eyes.”

“I naturally had puffy eyes. If you see photographs of me as a child, I look like I haven’t slept. I’ve just always been that person, and we were shooting a scene in a courtroom with that kind of high, nasty fluorescent light, and it came around to my coverage in the scene, and [the cameraman] said, “I’m not shooting her today. Her eyes are too puffy,” she told Variety.

“I was so mortified and so embarrassed and had just so much shame about it that after that movie, I went and had routine plastic surgery to remove the puffiness.”

In an interview with More in 2002, Jamie revealed that after her surgeries, she felt “ripped off.”

“None of it works. None of it,” she said. “It’s such a fraud. And I’m the one perpetuating it.”

Shutterstock/Featureflash Photo Agency

Two decades later, nothing changed. The actress is convinced that plastic surgeries don’t do any good.

“I would hope a young person would look at me with my grey hair and wrinkly face and say, ‘That’s cool that you are who you are,’” she told Glamour UK in 2019. “If I met Jamie at 17, I would hopefully be an adult who would say, ‘I see you.’”

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly, the 63-year-old actress said that she prefers real beauty, mainly because she’s had “the trail and error of the other part.” Jamie, who doesn’t believe in “f**king with your face,” also added that she used the same logic with her hair when she noticed some grey spots.

“I tried to everything you can do to your hair,” she said. “Personally, I felt it was humiliating.”

“The term, anti-aging … what? What are you talking about? We’re all going to f**king age. We’re all going to die. Why do you want to look 17 when you’re 70? I want to look 70 when I’m 70,” the True Lies actress added.

Shutterstock/Tinseltown

She doesn’t understand the “obsession” with cosmetic procedures.

“The current trend of fillers and procedures, and this obsession with filtering and the things that we do to adjust our appearance on Zoom are wiping out generations of beauty. Once you mess with your face, you can’t get it back,” Jamie told Fast Company.

“We just don’t know the longitudinal effect, mentally, spiritually and physically on a generation of young people who are in agony because of social media, because of the comparisons to other.

“All of us who are old enough know that it’s all a lie. It’s a real danger to young people.”

We love Jamie for her beauty, talent, and for believing in what she thinks is right.

Woman Scoffed At This Child’s Prayer, But His Response Was Priceless

0

Last week I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, “God is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all!
Amen!”

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby I heard a woman remark, “That’s what’s wrong with this country. Kids today don’t even know how to pray. Asking God for ice-cream! Why, I never!”

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, “Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?”

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my son and said,

“I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.”

“Really?” my son asked.

“Cross my heart,” the man replied.

Then in a theatrical whisper he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), “Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.”

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, “Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already.”

Brilliant! Pass this on using the buttons below.
