Mom’s Stunned By Bakery’s Actions On Autistic Teen’s Birthday

The beauty of life is that whenever we feel down and lose faith in humanity along the way, someone crosses our path and restores it, teaching us that things aren’t as bad as they look.

Kim is a mother of an autistic daughter who is a very special girl with a heart of gold. However, in today’s world, people don’t really care how nice someone is, as long as they are different, they don’t fit the standards of our society, which is really devastating, but sadly, that’s how many people react.

This mother knows that best. She was over the moon with her daughter’s 11th birthday party, eager for Amy to have the time of her life. But, that day turned out to be one of the worst days they’ve experienced. None of the schoolmates she invited showed up. Amy was sitting there all by herself, with no friends around.

That was the last time this mother threw a birthday party for her daughter.

When the time came for Amy to turn 13, Kim called a bakery to order a birthday cake. When Elizabeth Scott from Savage’s Bakery asked about the venue of the party, Kim told her how there wasn’t going to be any, and then explained why they stopped throwing parties and inviting people. Elizabeth simply couldn’t believe how a girl that young wouldn’t have a party, so she decided to take things into her hands.

She went beyond decorating a cake with a bunch of flowers Amy was crazy about, and wanted this girl to experience the joy of opening gifts, dancing, and singing.

She told AL.com.

“This spoke to my heart. I told her we would invite a bunch of folks and make it extra special.”

Elizabeth posted an invitation for Amy’s birthday party on the bakery’s Facebook page and envisioned a handful of people popping by. She reached out KultureCity, an organization that helps public places become more sensory-friendly for autistic people, in hopes they will come up with something special for Amy.

Dr. Julian Maha, founder of KultureCity, has an autistic child herself and understands how these children are often treated by their peers.

“No one ever invites you to their birthday party and no one ever attends a birthday party for you.”

What Julian did was sort of amazing. She brought a brand new sensory activation vehicle to the bakery’s parking lot. There were lots of fun things inside of it that would also serve the purpose of calming down the children with autism.

“The other kids joined her in it, which relieved her anxiety, and then she went in after that and had a really good time at the party.”

The party was a huge success, with a lot of people and kids attending it. Amy received many gifts, among which a colorful stuffed chicken that clucked which she loved the most.

Elizabeth went a step further and took Amy inside her shop explaining how her cake was decorated. She made sure Amy gets her flowers and the best party she could ever ask for.

Elizabeth told AL.com:

“We made it a special day for her. Amy was all smiles, all day long.”

Kim was beyond grateful for what Elizabeth did for Amy. She was just a complete stranger who wouldn’t let a young girl spend her special day without guests to celebrate together with her.

Julian on the other hand said how it was important for people to understand that autistic children are no different than the rest of the kids. They want to have fun as much as everyone else, and people like Elizabeth who are aware of this are those who make the change in these kids’ life.

“People like Elizabeth, for me, are the reason why we do what we do, because if we can convert someone like Elizabeth who really has no personal connection to disabilities and take that message of inclusion and acceptance to the next level, we’ve done our job.”

Mother Of Boy Dismayed When Asked To Leave During Girls-Only Playdate

Which was the right choice?

One mom reached out online to a parent advice columnist named Carolyn Hax, during a Washington Post live chat. She shared that she has a daughter, whom she frequently brings to a public park. One day while chatting with other mothers (all of them have daughters), another woman showed up at the very same park – with her son. The mom tried to ask both the woman and boy to leave if she would mind leaving as all of them had wanted their gathering to be ‘girls-only’.

However, the boy’s mother did not take it well – she got angry at her. For the woman, it was important for mothers to spend time with their daughters without any males around. Gender was the main issue of conflict in this situation – how would Hax respond?

The mom who voiced her concern expressed: “We live in a world where boys get everything and girls are left with the crumbs – and I would think this mom would realize that but she seems to think her son is entitled to crash this girls-only time.”

Hax advised that shooing off the mother and her son was a terrible thing to do as it would hurt their feelings, regardless of gender. Girls are not always left with the crumbs, according to Hax’s response. She continued: “The adult you shooed off is a mom, possessor of the same crumbs you’ve been fed, no? So don’t you think she would have just liked to hang with some fellow moms in the park while she was out with her child?”

True enough. Hax was right – a public park is for all to enjoy themselves. Instead, Hax’s suggestion was that the mother could have held her ‘girls-only’ gathering at a private location instead of a public place – if she had wanted some privacy. Do you agree with Hax?

Officer’s Generousity For The Homeless Was Caught On Camera

It touched the hearts of many when he did that.

In Mesa, Arizona, one police officer named Kent Green protects and serves the local community very seriously. One day while out running, he had spotted a worn out homeless man rummaging through the trash, and worried about his safety. As it would turn out, the man had been looking through a dumpster for aluminium cans and glass bottles to sell. Once Green asked the man to step away from the dumpster, he noticed that this man’s very much worn out shoes. Green headed back over to his car and pulled out one pair of his own old running shoes, and gave it to him. It was a pair of extra sneakers he had while out running.

Green had no idea that someone else nearby had been documenting his act of kindness all along- it was one of the complex’s residents named Jenny Crider. She took some photos of the scene along with a caption on social media – the post ended up going viral after the Mesa Police Department shared it on their own page.

The post read: “This man comes by our complex a few times a week collecting cans to earn money from recycling them. When I went to grab our mail, a police officer drove up and got out to talk to him. I honestly thought he was going to ask him to leave and stop going through the trash. When I came back home from getting the mail, the officer had brought out a nice, new pair of shoes to give to the man. It’s the simple, Christlike acts like this that give me hope in this world. Thank you Mesa Police for having such wonderful officers patrol the area!”

Green woke up the next day, and was surprised with the overwhelming positive responses online. Green explains that his simple act of kindness is actually typical among his fellow officers, who tend to reach out to the local community in different ways. “It’s been overwhelmingly positive, humbling, and just awesome,” he remarked.

One man shared a story of the meeting he had with a retired Marine whom he met for the first time but felt the need to approach and say hi and thank you.

What he got in response left him overwhelmed.

I saw a man with a Marine Raider pin, Purple Heart, and other pins on his hat at Starbucks this morning. I walked up and said “Semper Fi, we respect your generation.” He told me “Semper Fi, 1st Raider Battalion, Alpha company, Okinawa.” If anyone knows anything about history, they know these men are made from the salt of the Earth.

He began telling me stories of when he got hit. He said he would load specific magazines with tracers because it would light the Japanese buildings on fire. He lit 3 buildings on fire, in a guun fight, and told me “those sons of bi***es didn’t like that. They retaliated with a rocket. It ki**ed my squad leader and the A[ssistant]-gunner loading the belt. All I got was a chunk out of my hip. The Corpsman ran over and started working on me. Then they shelled our position so hard, it ki**ed almost everyone. I don’t remember what happened over the next week of my life. I woke up in a hospital, and a doctor was sucking fluid out of my chest with a syringe. I guess I got hit in the chest with a machine guun. I lost a lung.” He started laughing and said “How does a man live to be 90 with just one lung? Hahaha.”

He then talked about recovery at a hospital in Guam. Two-hundred Japanese paratroopers were dropped and were kii**ng friendlies around the area. He was given 2 choices. Stay and take his chances, or run and hide. He said he took out all the needles attached to his body out, put tape over his wounds, and hid for 24 days. After he was rescued, on a flight back to the US, another Marine handed him a Lucky Strike cigarette. He went to light it, and the doctor saw him. The doctor told him “what the hell is wrong with you? You only have one lung.” They then injected him with so much mor**hine, he passed out and woke in an American hospital.

He eventually recovered and tried to re-enlist, but he was medically retired. I helped him stand up and walked him to his vehicle, which is a golf cart on ster**ids. As he got in his vehicle, I shook his hand one last time and told him he was the saltiest Marine I have ever met in my life. He said “all my friends are saltier than I am. I’ve lived an amazing life, and I don’t have any regrets. I wouldn’t change a thing, it was the time of my life.” He then told me, I hope I see you around again young man, so we can bul***hit.

This man made my year. This is a living piece of history, and he told the stories raw. I listened to him talk for an hour and a half, even though I had so much to do today. He made it a point to tell me about the bravest man he had ever known, that deserved to be remembered. He spoke of the Raider community doing great things. The last thing he said to me was “Semper Fi, Raiders never die.”

The sad reality of today is that technology got so involved into our daily lives that we almost forgot how to communicate in person, or how to make real friends. We live in the decade of smartphones that captivate all of our attention. It seems like everything turns around the social networking sites and our existence is marked by our profiles and all those posts and photos we upload on a daily basis.

Teenagers in particular are overly obsessed with technology and some recent studies state how they spend around 74 hours a month on apps, but it seems the number is much higher. Other studies state that as our brain grows dependent on technology, our intellect weakens a great deal.

You have probably noticed how the family gatherings are not as fun as they used to be. Joking and talking have been substituted with messaging and typing and that’s something we can’t really change no matter how hard we try.

One father got fed up by his sons using their phones all the time, including dinner time, so he decided to bring to their attention how disrespectful that is in the most hilarious way possible.

If you take a look at the people at the cafes and the restaurants you’ll notice how they barely speak to each other, because they are way too busy staring on their phone screens. Eating together only matters if the food is attractive enough to be posted on Instagram. Nobody cares if it’s tasty or not as long as it gathers likes from your followers.

The same thing happened at this dad’s place, by he decided he won’t put up with his sons’ behavior any longer.

A study completed by Virginia Tech and reported in Washington Post said using your phone during social situations like dinnertime can lead to missing a significant amount of human contact.

The study said:

“Even without active use, the presence of mobile technologies has the potential to divert individuals from face-to-face exchanges, thereby undermining the character and depth of these connections. Individuals are more likely to miss subtle cues, facial expressions, and changes in the tone of their conversation partner’s voice, and have less eye contact.”

Trying to avoid all this, this dad did something that will teach his sons a lesson. As soon as he brought to the table his communication device his wife bursted in laughter and the boys understood their dad’s point an put their phones away.

Bullied Teen Lost 138 Lbs Before Prom

Josephine Desgrand, a girl who weighted 278 pounds at her heaviest is now the face of change, courage, and determination. She was constantly bullied because of her physical appearance and staggering weight and she could barely cope with the emotional pain she was going through. Instead of spending her time planning what parties and places to visit with her friends, she was only planning her next course of meal.

This girl did great at school and performed very well in every subject, but no one really cared, because everyone around her was busy making fun of her looks. She had been ridiculed on a daily basis until her life became a living hell she couldn’t stand any longer.

The harsh words from her peers and all those names she was called made her take action and change her lifestyle for good. She was determined to show everyone that there was a real beauty hiding under the weight, and looking good seemed like a best revenge.

She started a healthy diet which didn’t include any carbs or sweets she once ate all day non stop. She also started exercising and wasn’t willing to risk her physical and mental well-being for the sake of some tasty treats.

It took Josephine around two years to change dramatically. She was now good-looking, and what’s more, she was way healthier than before.

She dropped an astonishing 138 pounds and surprised everyone around, and to be honest, she surprised herself the most.

On her Instagram account she shared with her followers some tips and tricks on how she did it.

“I stuck to a low carb, no sugar diet for TWO WHOLE years. I began to eat natural sugars about six months into my journey. In the first 12 months, I lost 63 kgs [138 pounds]. I do not see this as a diet to lose weight, I see this as my new lifestyle change. In these two years, I have faced some very difficult challenges but I have chosen to pick myself up and keep moving. Everybody has bad days, never let a stumble be the end of your journey.”

The senior prom was just around the corner and it was the perfect time for Josephine to rock her new body. Her life-long dream of fitting into a shimmery gown came true, and she was over the moon.

Although it’s quite sad that her motivation was a result of the harsh words and the bullying from her friends, she is lucky she managed to find the strength to move on and change her life for the better. She also says how the way she looks right how does make her happy, but what’s more important is to set your mental health a priority.

We hope Josephine’s story will encourage others to take control of their life and won’t let any food be more important than their health. As for this brave and determined girl that now resembles a model from a fashion magazine, we wish you all the best, you are a true inspiration.

Dad sends 10-yr-old son to school with hidden tape recorder, can’t believe when he hears the recording

I believe every parent would do what it takes to see their children happy. We all want our kids to be raised in a friendly environment which will allow them to become good people. But what happens when those who are supposed to be their support and teach them wright from wrong, like their teachers, treat them with disrespect?

Have you ever wondered how would you react if you find out your kid has been bullied at school, not by the peers, but by their educators?

That is exactly what 10-year old Akian, who has autism, experienced.

Stuart Chaifetz, Akian’s father became suspicious of what was really going on at his son’s school after he was told Akian started showing violent behavior. This came as a surprise to the father who knew his son was a quiet and well-mannered young boy.

Not willing to accept those accusations, he did something that was later considered controversial by those who witnessed his action. Stuart placed a tape recorder in his son’s pocket eager to learn what was happening during lesson time and what triggered his son’s “violent” behavior.

What he heard after he played the recording left him in deep shock. He couldn’t believe his ears. What the poor boy had to put up with during those six hours spent at the educational facility broke this father’s heart.

The teacher could be heard treating Akian inappropriately, humiliating him in front of the whole class and calling him names such as “bastard.”

What the father did next was to upload the recording on YouTube so that everyone could see and listen what Akian had to endure. He hopes this will help raise awareness about bullying at schools and help in the fight against it.

While some people criticized Stuart for secretly recording the teacher, great majority of the people who heard his story believe he did the right thing for standing for his son.

According to the school superintendent, Dr. Maureen Reusche, those involved in the incident are no longer part of the Horace Mann School.

“I want to assure our parents that the individuals who are heard on the recording raising their voices and inappropriately addressing children no longer work in the district and have not since shortly after we received the copy of the recording,” she said.

Woman Puts Dad With Alzheimer’s On A One-Way Flight To Denver Claiming She’s ‘Done With Him’

Our parents are our strength. They do everything in their power to provide us with a nice life and a bright future. They would do anything for our happiness and our well-being so that when they get old and unable to take care of themselves we pay the favor back and make sure they age with dignity.

Unfortunately, we witness how hundreds of elderly people end up under the wing of the hospitals which are obliged to take them in when they have no place to stay.

The latest story we’ve heard broke our hearts. We simply can’t understand how people became so cruel and self-centered without feeling the urge to show love and consideration towards other humans, including their own parents.

Jerry Ellingsen, an 80-year-old man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease was noticed wandering the Denver airport, unaware of why he was there, or where he was heading to. He was totally confused and unable to answer any of the questions the police asked him.

His condition was so severe that he couldn’t even remember any of his family members or relatives.

The police later learned that he lived with his brother and nephew in Southwest Florida who couldn’t take care of him any longer and decided to send him to his daughter Pamela’s place. However, she wasn’t happy with the idea and refused to take him in. She though he should stay with his estranged wife and put her own father on a one-way flight to Denver saying how she was “done with him.”

A text was sent to his wife, stating:

“My dad and Corky [the dog] will arrive on a flight in Denver tomorrow afternoon.”

The police eventually contacted both Pamela and Jerry’s ex wife but neither wanted to have anything with him so he ended up at a hospital.

Knowing how many people share Jerry’s faith makes our hearts sink.

“At the end of the day, this is our loved ones that we are talking about,”

said Doug Muir, who oversees behavior health at Porter Adventist Hospital where Jerry was admitted.

“So, as a society and community, we need to demand better outcomes.”

Firemen Battled California Wildfire, And Spots Celebrity Guy Fieri With A Tent

After a day’s worth of work, the firemen saw someone they would least expect to be there!

California is no stranger to one notorious natural disaster; wildfires. One such wildfire incident has even displaced families, destroyed many properties and caused great devastating losses amongst the locals. It was the largest fire to sweep across California, and it was nicknamed ‘The Camp Fire’.

The fires have even demolished an entire town, earning itself a reputation as the most destructive fire ever to occur in the Californian state. Dozens of people have already perished in the fires, while hundreds still remain missing. It has been a bout of incredibly tough work to battle the fires, leaving many emergency workers exhausted and worn out.

Many generous local volunteers have donated water for the workers helped their own families last to save others, as they were risking their lives while doing so. Several celebrities have also lost their homes in the fire as well. But one celebrity has personally went down to help the firefighters and other emergency personnel in only one way he could – and he did it the best.

It was well-known restaurateur and Food Network star Guy Fieri. He whipped up some mouth-watering, tasty and energy-replenishing food for many hungry people. The menu included dishes such as pulled pork – it was even served to helpers at the law enforcement staging area in Butte College! Guy Fieri was no stranger to charity, it seems – and boy were people pleasantly surprised!

This past summer, Guy also teamed up with chef Jose Andreas to help feed evacuees and emergency crews located in Redding, California during the Carr Fires. A longtime resident of Santa Rosa, California, Guy could not bear to see states of devastation repeatedly blanketing his homeland. The Auburn Police Department gave a special shout out to Guy as they were extremely grateful for his generosity and aid. Their post read: “Thank you Guy for your time, support and great food!” Now that’s human kindness right there!

One woman was offended by what a random stranger dared to ask her so she decided to call her husband to step in and help, but what happened at the end is something she didn’t see coming.

It’s hilarious!

A woman is at home when she hears someone knocking at her door. She goes to the door opens it and sees a man standing there. He asks the lady, “Do you have a Vagina?”

She slams the door in disgust.

The next morning she hears a knock at the door, it’s the same man and he asks the same question to the woman, “Do you have a Vagina?”

She slams the door again.

Later that night when her husband gets home she tell him what has happened fora the last two days. The husband tells his wife in a loving and concerned voice, “Honey, I am taking a day off tomorrow so I can be home, just in case this guy shows up again.”

The next morning they hear a knock at the door and both ran for the door.

The husband whispers to the wife, “Honey, I’m going to hide behind the door and listen and if it is the same guy I want you to answer yes to the question because I want to a see where he’s going with this.”

She nods yes to her husband and opens the door.

Sure enough the same fellow is standing there, he asks, “Do you have a Vagina?”

“Yes I do.” says the lady.

The man replies, “Good, would you mind telling your husband to leave my wife’s alone and start using yours!”

Daughter films sick father’s hospice nurse and exposes her unconventional but amazing ‘treatment’

Although doctors are the ones who admit patients at the hospital, diagnose the health issue, prescribe appropriate medications and treatments, do surgeries, and many more, they wouldn’t be able to do any of these without the assistance of the nurses. At the end of the day, nurses are the ones who stay by the patient’s side, make sure they take their meds in a timely manner, and are the first to know if the patient’s condition has changed. They are caring, devoted, and supportive.

Nurse Brenda Buurstra works at the Bronson Hospital, Michigan, and she is one of the most compassionate people who would do anything to see her patients happy. She makes sure to remind them every now and then that things are going to be just fine.

Robert Olson on the other hand is one of Brenda’s patients. He is an elderly man who was admitted to hospital due to breathing difficulties. What is special about Robert is that he is a very hardworking man who retired at the age of 85, but now feels that his health is declining so he ended up at the hospital.

His daughter Roberta Lytle even told WWMT:

“We did not think he was coming home this time.”

Due to his age, Robert couldn’t be operated on, so he was placed in hospice care under the wings of nurse Brenda.

As this loving lady walked into the room of her new patient she could see him and his daughter watching a show about Pat Boone. She though it was a great way of bonding so she joined in the conversation and learned how Robert really liked one of the song’s Pat Boone’s daughter sang. Nurse Brenda didn’t think twice before she started singing part of it.

“I’m just blown away because the woman’s got a voice.”

It was awesome how the man was so delighted by the nurse’s action that he tried to join the lines besides his severe health condition.

The next day, Nurse Brenda came into the room holding a sheet of paper with the lyrics of the song “You Light Up My Life” and left Robert and his daughter simply stunned. They couldn’t believe how caring she is.

“Even through his little venting mask he was wearing, his eyes lit up. His whole countenance changed, and he had a big smile. You could tell that song lit him up. Literally ‘You Light Up My Life,’ that song really just lit him up. You could tell it touched his heart.”

Roberta though it was the cutest thing ever seeing the nurse singing to her patient so she took a video of the lovely sight.

Although the family believed Robert wouldn’t make it this time, what Brenda did gave him the strength to recover and soon after he was discharged from hospice.

“I have sung to patients for 14 years, and this is just the first time I got caught … To make that awful hospital stay they’re going through just a little bit better, a little bit brighter. I wanted to be on a team of positive people, and that’s what we have here at Bronson. I’m not the only nurse who goes above and beyond at Bronson. This is what we do every day.”

Once she uploaded the video on YouTube, many people praised Nurse Brenda for what she did, saying she is one of a kind.

She has an angelic voice that she used to light up Robert’s life.

Child D-ies Waiting For Heart Transplant, But Her Death Sends Powerful Message That’s Gone Viral

No parent should ever experience the pain of losing a child. That grief doesn’t compare to any other and unfortunately never fades away.

There are many people out there who are left heartbroken with the news that their children suffer from certain condition or disease and fighting the battle against those illnesses can be hard and exhausting, but as long as parents knows there is hope for their child to recover, they will never give up.

One expectant mother heard what every parent fears of – that their daughter who was about to be welcomed into the world will be born with Congenital Heart Disease. That turned their world upside down, but Suha and her husband were ready to fight for their daughter’s life with all their strength.

Thankfully, God wanted the little baby girl to come out from the battle against her condition as a winner. Now Suha feels the need to give other mothers who are sadly going through what she had to endure the support and the words of comfort they desperately need.

“After five and a half months of waiting, we received the call. They found a perfect match, a whole, four ventricle heart, her lifesaving gift, a new chance at life,” Suha writes to Love What Matters. “After nearly six months of waiting and praying, we were able to bring Nadia home again. This is why I became a photographer.”

Suha who is not only a mom of a little fighter, but a photographer as well, says she does all this because she knows how it feels like to see your child suffering without being able to help. She takes photos of the families and says:

“I wanted other families to have portraits they could hold on to and cherish forever,”

Suha’s job is rewarding, but at the same time it is something that reminds her of her daughter’s condition. She says that roughly 1 in 100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect every year. Luckily, many of these newborns manage to overcome the condition thanks to modern medicine and organ donors, but sadly, many of them pass away.

One of the devastating losses she witnessed was that of a child who suffered from CHD and unfortunately didn’t survive. Her parents Kristi and Justin could see their baby daughter taking her last breath in front of their eyes.

This made Suha raise her voice in order to raise awareness about CHD along with the powerful message:

“I could tell you that Adalynn is one of the 20 people that die every day waiting for a transplant. Or, I could tell you about my perspective of what it was like being in that room to document their last moments together as a family of six. But there aren’t any words to describe the pain and love I witnessed.”

She ends the post saying “Fly high baby girl. You fought so hard and touched so many lives.”

Student had the best response when a teacher questioned her drawing

Little children can be amazingly hilarious. They are brutally honest and don’t really care if you get offended by their opinion. They always speak their mind and many times come with witty comebacks that leave us adults speechless.

Below are some of the best responses of kids that will put a smile on your face and will remind you why we love them so much.

A kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She walked around to look at the artwork. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.

The girl replied, “I’m drawing a picture of God.”

The teacher paused and said, “But no one knows what God looks like.

Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the girl replied, “They will in a minute.”

Dad of 4 struggles to pay grocery bill at Walmart, looks up and sees cop running towards him

Not everyone is courageous enough to step in when someone is in trouble, nor compassionate enough to lend a helping hand to those in need. But those who do are very special people who make the world a better and a safer place, and make our life shine a little brighter.

Mike Kelley is one of those people. Besides working as a police officer, he is also a security officer at Walmart, which means he is fighting crime around the clock.

Recently, this man’s generosity was noticed by a customer who believed what he did was worth sharing.

Although he had his hands full making sure everything ran smoothly with all those people coming in and out of the store, he took notice of a sight he couldn’t ignore. A father who was accompanied by his four children was struggling to pay the grocery bill. Officer Mike could sense a discomfort in the man’s behavior and didn’t hesitate to take action.

For an interview for WRCB-TV, officer Mike said how he felt God told him not to let that man and his girls leave the store without what was in their shopping cart.

“I just felt God telling me, saying, ‘Just go help him.’ [I’m] getting extra money to be there and I’m just like, are these people going to go hungry when I’m just sitting here making a little extra money for myself?

… I’m looking down at the little girl, and the little girls looking up to her dad, and I look in the [shopping cart.] It’s just Ramen noodles. I don’t know if it’s a financial thing, or if the card just didn’t work.”

And as no good deed goes unnoticed, officer Mike’s act of kindness was witnessed by Jermaine Bowe who happened to be waiting in the queue and was able to see the whole thing. Mike approached the man and offered to pay the bill.

Bowe was so touched by what the officer did that he posted it on Facebook in hopes of identifying the generous man who got back to his usual job routine after paying $80 for a random stranger.

“Just witnessed another extraordinary act by our men and women in uniform. A police officer paid for the groceries of a customer here at Walmart. The best part, the customer told the police officer ‘God bless you,’ and the police officer responded, ‘I am already blessed.’ I love it.”

Once everyone learned Mike’s name, this Cleveland officer was considered a hero, but he is so humble that he says how he only did what he though was the right thing to do.

He told WRCB-TV:

“Look for somebody to help there’s someone around all the time to help maybe just food but maybe something else maybe just go up and talk to them.”

We should be thankful for people like Mike Kelly who show us what it really means to serve the community.

This has to be the best definition of life you’ve ever stumbled upon. It perfectly depicts all the phases of existence we go through. It may also make you laugh once you realize how accurate it is.

On the first day God created the dog. God said, “Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years.” The dog said, “That’s too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten.”

So God agreed.

On the second day God created the monkey. God said, “Entertain people, do monkey tricks and make them laugh. I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.” The monkey said, “Monkey tricks for twenty years? I don’t think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that’s what I’ll do too, okay?”

And God agreed.

On the third day God created the cow. “You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves, and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years.”

The cow said, “That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty and I’ll give back the other forty.”

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day God created man. God said, “Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. I’ll give you twenty years.”

Man said, “What? Only twenty years? Tell you what, I’ll take my twenty, and the forty the cow gave back, and the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back, that makes eighty, okay?”

Okay,” said God, “You’ve got a deal.”

So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, and enjoy ourselves; the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family; the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren; and the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Young Dad D-ies Unexpectedly From Toothache

What seemed like an ordinary toothache turned into a tragedy that teared down the life of one Californian family.

26-year-old Vadim Anatoliyevich Kondratyuk lost his life due to a life-threatening infection after he started experiencing severe pain in his tooth. He left behind a loving wife and two beautiful daughters that will never forget how great and special man their husband and father was.

This young man started experiencing the pain on his way to New York. He worked as a truck driver and spent a lot of time on the road.

The toothache was unbearable so he decided to stop in Oklahoma and visit a dentist. The doctor didn’t think the condition was serious. He did see the tooth was infected, but he cleaned it out, and prescribed antibiotics.

However, instead of calming down, the pain worsened a great deal and at the time young Vadim got to New York, that side of his face was visibly swollen.

His brother got pretty concerned and suggested Vadim return home and treat the toothache. And that’s exactly what they agreed on doing, but Vadim simply couldn’t stand the agony and had to stop at a hospital in Utah.

Sadly, that was when the doctors told him how the infection started spreading to other parts of his body.

He was immediately admitted to the hospital, and the doctors started treating the infection that had already spread to his lungs and made his breathing difficult.

“They had him on medication, they tried everything they could,” Kondratyuk’s wife Nataliya told the Sacramento Bee. “We prayed for him that day, that night, hoping he was going to survive.”

“But God has his plan, and we had a talk with the doctors and they told us how this all happened. It was just not healing how it was supposed to. It was just getting worse.”

The infection was so severe that is was resistant to the antibiotics Vadim was given.

His body became too fragile and way too weak so his heart eventually gave up.

“The doctor said tonight is the night he’s gonna die because we did everything we can and nothing seems to work,” his wife Nataliya told FOX 40. “It’s just the bacteria and the infection keeps growing to his lungs and they can’t clean it out.”

Except for being diabetic, Vadim was a healthy young man who didn’t experience any serious health problems.

“I don’t think you could find a better husband. I thank everybody for his prayers, for his brother, for his friend that dropped me off over there,” Natalyia said.

“I know he’s in heaven. He’s a happy person right now. He’s gonna be my angel for the rest of my life and he’s gonna help me through this whole time without a dad and without a husband,” Nataliya said.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for the funeral and to help the family with living expenses.

“Vadim was a very humble and calm person,” the page reads. “A wonderful father, husband, brother, son, and friend. He would always put others before himself and was known to be the peacemaker. He had a very close and special relationship with his two daughters and he loved spending time with his family.”

As of today, the fund has surpassed its goal of $250,000 and has raised $278,678.

“On behalf of Nataliya, her daughters and all of Vadim’s family, thank you sincerely for your support during this difficult time! We have been blown away by the love and kindness we have been shown by our friends, family, community and even kind strangers,” the family said. “May God Bless you for your generosity.”

Poor Man Asks Woman To Buy Him Milk But She Doesn’t Stop There

Sometimes people find themselves in desperate situations and are forced to ask for help from their family, friends, or even strangers.

And if they are lucky enough, they will stumble upon empathetic and considerate humans who will understand their problems, feel their pain, and do everything in their power to provide some help.

Unfortunately, nowadays it’s not that common for people to take the time and help someone in need because we’ve become selfish and self-centered and hearing stories of Samaritans who do good deeds always comes as a refreshment and an inspiration.

The following story will make your day and restore your faith in humanity, in case you’ve lost it along the way.

One lady shares with us what happened the day she met young man who had spent his bottom dollar and asked her if she could buy some milk for him.

“My first thought was to say no but as I was paying for my gas I grabbed the milk.”

Her gut was telling her that he was a nice young man who simply struggled to make ends meet.

“Outside was his girlfriend holding a box of cereal. He thanked me and I started to walk to my car. Something in me made me turn around. I told them I was about to get a car wash but if he wanted to wash it for me I’d pay him $20. We went to the nearest car wash and he had tears in his eyes after I paid him!”

“He told me that more than anything he appreciated me giving him the opportunity to be a man again in the eyes of his girlfriend and work for the money,” she continued. “The whole time his girlfriend helped him. It’s like she was proud of him. You could tell the love was so real. Real beyond material things and what he could do for her.”

The woman did an amazing thing. She found the perfect way to help this young man out without making him feel as though he begged for the money, but gave him the opportunity to earn it.

It’s also sort of startling that the girl was with him not because he was some rich guy with a fancy car but because she was truly in love which is a rarity in the world where money is everything.

“She told him he did a great job and he couldn’t stop smiling. I had a long talk with him and her and he had a backpack full of paperwork from all of the places he’s been going to get help for them.”

“I drove them to my apartment complex and gave him clothes for interviews and a few outfits and fitted caps. I don’t have much but life is about sharing what you do have.”

“Be a blessing to someone today because you could be in that situation before you know it! I gave them my number and I plan to take them to any interviews or appointments they have. It’s a great day to be alive no matter what your situation is. Someone has it worse than you!

There are situations in which pretty much each of us has found themselves in, and that’s when we say things even before thinking. We tend to regret for not considering every aspect of the subject before we make conclusions. That is what happened with a man who complained about the military planes flying through the area where he lived and we are sure that the answer he got from one of the lieutenant colonels from Luke Air Force Base got him thinking.

People living in the region of west Phoenix tend to complain about the noise the planes make, although the base was there long before all those residents moved near by.

The complaint:

‘Question of the day for Luke Air Force Base:
Whom do we thank for the morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely 9:11 A.M, a tight formation of four F-16 jets made a low pass over Arrowhead Mall, continuing west over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet. Imagine our good fortune! Do the Tom Cruise-wannabes feel we need this wake-up call, or were they trying to impress the cashiers at Mervyn’s early bird special?

Regarding ‘A wake-up call from Luke’s jets’ On June 15, at precisely 9:12 a.m., a perfectly timed four-ship fly by of F-16s from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt. Fresques was an Air Force officer who was previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial Day.

At 9 a.m. on June 15, his family and friends gathered at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband, son and friend. Based on the letter writer’s recount of the fly by, and because of the jet noise, I’m sure you didn’t hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave them their son’s flag on behalf of the President of the United States and all those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they have endured..

A four-ship fly by is a display of respect the Air Force gives to those who give their lives in defense of freedom. We are professional aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects.

The letter writer asks, ‘Whom do we thank for the morning air show’? The 56th Fighter Wing will make the call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow and parents of Capt Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their honor that my pilots flew the most honorable formation of their lives.

Deaf Woman Can Hear Again So Ellen Tells Mother-In-Law Truth About Visit

This 34-year-old mother of two was born deaf and has never heard a single word in her life. But now that she had a husband and children she would do anything to be able to hear them call her mommy and tell how how much they love her.

Although it seemed impossible for this dream of hers to become reality, she has never lost hope. One day she found out about a new item of technology that was intended to help deaf people hear, and Sarah was beyond excited. But once she learned how much money the implant cost, it quickly wiped the smile off her face.

Sarah and her family simply couldn’t afford to pay $30,000 for a single implant no matter how much they wanted to.

And no matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t find a way to put that much money on the side. Their family and friends were familiar with their problem, and out of the blue, Sarah and her husband got an offer they simply couldn’t say no to. It was a gesture like no other.

Sarah’s mother-in-law was more than happy to step in and give them the money.

If they were about to accept the offer, that would mean the mother-in-law had to withdraw the money from her retirement account. But she made sure they know that no money in the world were more important than her son’s family’s happiness. She wanted to see her daughter-in-law satisfied and able to hear for the first time in her life. She knew that would mean the world to her, and she was ready to help.

But, that’s when things took an unexpected turn. The story of Sarah caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres who welcomed her to be a guest on her show and share her story.

Response To White Mom’s Plea About Black Daughter’s Hair

Stephanie Hollifield is a mother of five who was desperate to learn how to take care of one of her daughter’s hair. Even though she tried every product she was told will help comb and style Haley’s hair, nothing really helped, so the mother decided to write a Facebook post asking for help from black mothers who were more experienced in styling African-American hair which is pretty unique in appearance and structure.

When she posted the plea, she had no clue she will receive so many comments and messages offering a bunch of different and cool advice and techniques.

These days, when the issue of racism is widely spread across our country and people tend to accuse each other of hatred, Stephanie could be easily judged for her post, but instead she was praised for what she did.

The family adopted lovely Haley when she was just an 8-month-old baby, but now that she is 2, her mom understood how difficult it was to cope with her daughter’s hair which can be quite tangly.

“Dear Black Friends of Social Media, This clueless white momma is humbly coming to you to ask your help with Haley’s hair. I have asked my friends. I have asked strangers in Publix with kids with cute hair, and I’m still not getting it. We wash once a week. We do the water, leave in conditioner, oil, and hot towel every morning. We’ve tried more products, no products, less products. We are gentle as can be, but she still requires at least 6 minutes of cuddles after the trauma of her daily hair combing. I feel like it looks great for about an hour or two and then it is tangly and clumpy again. This picture is 3 hours into the day.”

Stephanie did her best, and yet, Haley’s hair didn’t look nice. She would wash, comb, and style the hair and only a couple of hours later it would look disheveled. This mom really didn’t know what she was doing wrong.

Among all those moms who offered suggestions, tips, and tricks, there was one special person who decided to take a step further and suggested that they meet so that she could show Stephanie how to style Haley’s hair in person.

“This lady, Monica Hunter, who I had never met in person before today, offered to come to my house and walk me through exactly how to style my daughter’s hair. She gave us her time, advice, headbands, combs and hair product. She asked for nothing in return and wouldn’t accept my money. By the time she left I had a little more confidence in fixing my daughter’s hair, and most importantly I felt supported by my new friend.”

Monica is a mother of three daughters with same hair as little Haley. When she showed up at Stephanie’s place she even brought a huge basket of hair supplies and recommended that the mom put some oil in Haley’s hair, part it, create some cute little ponytails, and then finish the style off with a pretty headband. And as you may assume, the final result was amazing.

The two mothers clicked in an instant and agreed to meet again so that their daughters could hang out and become friends.

As for Stephanie, she first found it strange that her post vent viral and was amazed how much attention it gathered but then she figured out that it was like that “because this is so uncommon. So inspirational. In our country, where everything seems so divisive, this quiet act of kindness spoke loudly to people from all walks of life.” She then added that people get easily offended these days that we stop trying to understand each other.

We hope the friendship between Stephanie, Monica, and their daughters will last forever.

NICU Nurses Split Lottery Winnings With Struggling Coworkers

An average American spends around $207 each year on lottery tickets and dreams of hitting the multimillion-dollar jackpot that skyrockets to all-time world record of $1.6 billion.

In order to become a winner you don’t need to be smart and do calculations, just extremely lucky. More or less as the nurses of the Mercy Children’s Hospital in Missouri who didn’t hit the jackpot but won $10,000 they had to split to 126 people. This wasn’t the first time for the colleagues to buy tickets together.

However, after splitting the amount among them, each would have ended up with around $56 after taxes, so they decided to do something different instead.

They all agreed that those money won’t make any difference for them, but they would certainly come in handy for two of their fellow co-workers who were facing certain difficulties, so they split the whole amount in half.

The person who took the first half of the money was neonatologist Casey Orellana whose life turned upside down after her loving husband was diagnosed with cancer which lead to Casey cutting her work hours in order to provide him with full-time care.

They have four children together, and now Casey is the only provider for the family of six. She struggles to cover all of their children’s needs and the costs for the numerous medical treatments Phil has to undergo. She says she has been worried and “wondering how the family would pay for certain medications” when her colleagues called her and told her the great news.

The other person the Mercy Children’s Hospital NICU team decided to give the money to is nurse Gretchen Post whose 17-year-old son Jack commited suicide on the night of the Mega Millions lottery drawing.

Gretchen was left heartbroken and the money she got will be used for her son’s funeral. She thinks what her colleagues did is an amazing gesture, and is very thankful.

This story is sort of amazing because it teaches us that no money is more important than the happiness of those around us who mean so much to us. The 126 coworkers won more than just $10,000, and that’s the appreciation of everyone who read their story.

Sibling Dance Team Takes Home Top Prize With Country Swing Routine

Musical talent definitely runs in the Willis family. Known for their hit television show that showcases their vocal abilities, they are our favorite siblings. Besides this, many are very successful in other fields, such as the remarkable duo Jeremiah and Jennifer who are rocking the stage whenever they show their swing dancing skills.

Recently, a video of the duo performing at the US Open swing competition caught the attention of the people who were left stunned by the frisky moves. It’s been a while that we’ve seen anything similar. As this type of dancing involves jazz music, Jeremiah and Jennifer elevate the routine by mixing some country music tunes and the blending of the two styles results in a real delight for the eyes and ears.

These two masters at swing dancing move in perfect harmony and are in sync during the whole act. Keeping a fast-paced beat, their moves are quite difficult to be replicated by any other contestant. The crowd simply loves them because they are not only excellent at what they do, but they are charming and have a smile on their faces that captivates the audience. We are not surprised they took the trophy for this performance.

Those familiar with the show know that the kids’ father was charged with child abuse and sentenced to 40 years in prison. The siblings are ready to move on and show the world their talent, as well as their music and dancing skills.

One thing Jeremiah told TODAY was that their family’s trust in God was a guiding light.

“[Our beliefs were] definitely tested, but honestly our faith is what brought us through, and we’re so thankful that we had that.”

We hope all of the twelve Willis kids will have a bright future ahead because they deserve nothing less.

Woman’s Fateful Encounter With Foreign Hiker Prompts Call To Police

Nancy Abel and her family reside in the rural Washington area. The beautiful nature that surrounds their home is one of the reasons they love the place. Even though some people may assume living on the outskirts could be monotonous, that’s not really the case with this woman who enjoys going hiking now and then.

Whenever she decides to explore the surroundings, she always makes sure she wears appropriate clothes depending on the weather, and has a back-pack full of supplies.

Her journeys are usually pretty short and she doesn’t really meet many people while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, but that day was unlike any other.

Nancy could see a young woman walking down the path. She decided to approach the lady who introduced herself as Katharina Groene from Germany. She told Nancy how she started her journey from the Mexican border and was heading towards the Canadian. It was amazing how she managed to cross more than 2,500 miles, with only 150 to go.

The Pacific Crest Trail is around 2,650 miles and it is assumed that it takes approximately the entire snow-free season, or around 5 months, to complete it walking from start to finish. The trail spans from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington.

Nancy feared for this woman’s safety because the weather conditions started changing, becoming more severe. From what Nancy could see, Katharina didn’t have the right equipment to continue her journey. The snow was just around the corner and she didn’t even have snow shoes nor other appropriate cold-weather gear.

Nancy later stated how she believed Katharina wasn’t really aware of the dangers this trip could bring, and wondered what would she do once she reaches the cold mountains of Canada. She tied her best to talk the hiker out of her intention, but in vain.

“In fact I told her, ‘If you were my daughter I wouldn’t let you do this,'”

Nancy said. But Katharina was determined to finish what she started and ignored the warnings.

As for Nancy, she couldn’t take the woman out of her mind. She was checking on the weather forecast all the time, and when she read how a heavy snowfall was about to hit the country, she simply had to call 911 and ask for help.

When they asked her what the emergency was, she said there wasn’t any, and went further elaborating her concerns. The first responders also believed Katharina could be in trouble so they sent a helicopter in search for her.

Unfortunately, their concerns were justified. The hiker was soaking wet, unable to light a fire, alone in the freezing weather in the mountains. If it wasn’t for Nancy she could have died alone with no one by her side.

“I’ll think of her as a hero for the rest of my life,”

Deputy J. Adams said.

Katharina spent the next couple of days at Nancy’s place and is beyond grateful she saved her life. She is now planning her trip back to Germany and says how she decided to hike the trail all by her self because she had lost faith in humanity, but now that faith is back “in a really big way” and stronger than ever.

It was the mother’s instinct and her gut that made Nancy take things in her hands and save a life.

Josh is known as one of the most famous American country and gospel singers, a devout Christian, and a family man. His voice has touched the hearts of many, and now it’s turn for his children to follow into his footsteps. After you hear them singing, you’ll hope they pursue a career in music and continue their father’s legacy.

The boys, Hampton, Colby, Marion, and Hawke, could be seen performing during a gospel ceremony. They got the chance to experience what it feels like to stand in front of a crowd and sing their hearts out, just the way their dad does.

Josh got involved into music form the time he was a young boy. He simply knew singing was his call after he started the group “Thankful Hearts” which was a gospel group that marked the beginning of his career as a country singer who made on the top lists.
