Seeing their children growing and becoming successful people is the best thing parents can experience during their lifetime. Watching them finish high-school or graduate means the world to so many moms and dads out there. For one father named Terry Borowski who was terminally ill, the wish of seeing his son walking across the stage and getting his diploma seemed like a distant and unreachable dream. For his son Darien, who is a student at the Oak Harbor High School, having his father near him on his special day was of great importance, too. But both the father and the son were aware it could never happen.
Terry was spending his last days at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. During his stay there, he told the medical staff how he was afraid he would miss his son’s graduation, and it was obvious it made him extremely unhappy.
“That was the first thing that he said when he started getting a little weaker, ‘I don’t think I’m going to make it for graduation,’” recalled Terry’s wife, Michelle, to Port Clinton News Herald.
Jennifer DeWitt who is a social worker learned of Terry’s wish and she was determined to make it happen, no matter what it took. She reached Darien’s school, told them how things were, and asked them to do a “mock” graduation for the student and his family. The school knew doing so would mean the world to the Borowskis and they were more than happy to step in.
Principal Cheryl Schell, school board president Jeff Dornbusch and district superintendent Guy Parmigian prepared an early commencement for Darien. School’s staff and students took part in it and made it look as authentic as possible. Honestly, they nailed it.
“We’ll do anything for our kids and their families,” Schell stated. “This was a no-brainer. I couldn’t think of anything more important than to be here today.”
It wasn’t the first time for the hospice center to host such an important ceremony, as the school would never turn down such request as making a terminally ill parent happy seeing their child graduate.
“They would absolutely drop everything for something this important,” Dornbusch said of colleagues Schell and Parmigian. “This is just important as the May graduation date.”
What the hospice center and the school did was really awesome. Terry’s heart was filled with joy seeing Darien wearing the green hat. Both institutions were praised for their selfless effort of granting a dying man’s his final wish.
“I’m so proud of you,”
Terry told his son as he asked him to throw the hat in the air.
“Just seeing his father’s face — it made us very happy we’re here today,” Schell added. “As parents, we just want to know our kids are going to be OK. That they have a future and can take care of themselves. We have no doubt about that with Darien.”
Redhead, a 28-year-old girl from West Midlands, UK, suffered from colitis a great part of her life. It’s a condition in which intestinal lining becomes inflamed. She has visited numerous doctors throughout the years, but in the final year of her life she started feeling worse with each passing day. The hospital staff never though she had a serious illness believing her weight loss and the severe abdominal pain she experienced were a result of her condition so they didn’t take things serious enough. It wasn’t until her stomach got swollen and she could feel a lump that they ran tests on her. Unfortunately, the results were devastating. Redhead had bowel cancer.
“We were all devastated when we were told it was bowel cancer and that it was incurable,” said her younger sister, Emily.
At that point, it had already spread on more than 70 percent of her liver. The cancer was terminal and the girl refused the treatment she was offered.
“She said she’d rather have less time and feel healthier in herself so that’s what she chose to do,” said Emily.
During those short months she got to live, Redhead shared her struggles and her journey on the social media. She wanted to raise awareness of the type of cancer she had.
Redhead was a brave young girl who was determined to live her final days to the fullest. Her story was heartbreaking, but her will and her spirit were never broken. She would share images of her surrounded by the people who loved her to the moon and back and who were her support during her ordeal.
She posted photos of the happy moments she was given and the celebrations of Christmas, New Year, and her birthday together with her family.
Once she lost all her strength, her sister Emily took over the social media updates.
“We are so proud of the fight she’s put up for the last few months, she has been so brave but she has said she’s ready to die now and no longer be in pain,” said Emily.
Emily and her loving sister who lost her life way too early sent a clear message to everyone who suffers from colitis. Having this condition may lead to more serious illnesses, so getting regular check-ups is crucial for the prevention of developing cancer.
William Bancroft is a lovely three-year-old boy who was born without arms. However, that doesn’t prevent him to enjoy his life to the fullest. What’s most, he even eats all by himself using his feet.
Recently, he and his family decided to have breakfast at IHOP in Hot Springs, Ark. They were all excited to be going there for the first time and William just couldn’t wait to have his pancake.
Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a fun day with the family, turned into a bitter experience. Namely, as William tried to pick up the syrup dispenser, the place’s manager approached their table and his words left everyone outraged and overwhelmed.
The boy was refused to sit on the table and eat with his feet although that’s the only possible way for him to do so. William’s mother, Alexis Bancroft, told the manager how she always makes her son wash his feet before he eats, but the rude man insisted that if the boy continued touching things with his feet it would be considered a “health department issue.”
Alexis later told Newsweek how she asked the manager whether he goes around the restaurant asking people if they have washed their hands or not.
The manager realized that what he did was profoundly wrong and came back to apologize, but it was way too late. The words had been spoken and William was hurt. The family left IHOP because of the way the boy was treated.
The rest of the guests witnessed the whole thing and they were all sorry for what the family had to endure. Many left the place in support of the Bancrofts.
Alexis said how this was the first time for her son to be discriminated for not having arms. Other restaurants don’t have a problem with the way he eats. On the contrary, most people are amazed that William can feed himself.
Once they were home, Alexis took it to social media to share the unpleasant experience. It was then when the manager tried to say sorry again by writing to her on Facebook. The rest of the employees told Alexis how they were ashamed of their manager’s act.
“Me and a few other servers were completely SHOCKED that our manager did that,” one of the workers wrote.
IHOP released a statement saying their restaurants won’t accept or tolerate any type of discrimination. They also added, “The franchisee at this location has been in touch with the guest to express his sincerest apologies and will continue to be in communication with her to resolve the issue.”
We hope William would never again be treated with such disrespect. We are glad his mother stood for him the way she did.
“Bringing Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need” is what the famous athlete Tim Tebow lives by. His deeds are kind, generous, and inspire others to become better people. Because of individuals like him, this world becomes a better place. The foundation he set up back in 2010 is there to “serve children and share God’s love…by fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves.”
He practices his faith every single day and believes he owes his success to God.
Tim’s parents were missionaries and they were the ones who brought Christianity and the trust in God close to his heart. He has been a devoted believer ever since he was a young boy. In fact, his mother and father say how Tim was a “miracle baby” because he got into this world despite the doctors’ insistence that his mom Pam Tebow had to terminate the pregnancy.
Doctors’ warnings came after Pam, who was 37 at the time, was diagnosed with amoebic dysentery for which she had to take strong medications. They feared how it could have a deteriorating effect on the unborn child. However, Robert Tebow, Tim’s father, had seen so many abortions in the Philippines that it affected him a great deal. He was feeling grief and sadness, and he prayed to God to give him a son whom he would name Timothy and who would spread the word of God. So when they learned Pam was pregnant, they decided to ignore doctors’ warnings and keep the baby. They asked God for things to turn right during the whole time, and he gave them “the miracle baby” in return for their strong faith.
“We didn’t really have to make a decision at that time,” she said during an interview with Focus on the Family. “We had made it years previous because we were determined to trust the Lord with the children that He would give us. And if God called me to give up my life, then He would take care of my family.”
Although he was a bit malnourished at birth, Tim soon became a healthy baby. Eventually, he turned into one of the most significant philanthropists of our time who makes a difference into many children’s’ lives.
Pam is a proud mother who knows her loving son is on the right path. She now shares their story in hopes of inspiring women to choose life for their unborn babies. Recently, she was a guest at the fundraising event New Beginnings Mercy House in Monroe, Michigan — a Christian crisis pregnancy center and spoke of the importance of supporting these kinds of centers.
The center’s website states,
“We must show the women the love of Christ by offering a loving home and practical support in every aspect of their needs during this time of crisis.”
Only in 2018, this center helped the birth of around 50 to 75 babies, and the number in these first months of 2019 is 18.
“It takes a lot of faith to stand for life today,” Pam said, according to Monroe News. “Abortion is everywhere and affects everyone. You’re exercising that big-faith muscle when you support this ministry.”
She then spoke about God and how he was merciful to her family, giving them Tim in their life despite the circumstances of his birth.
“He gives us so many opportunities to invest in heavenly things. We need to invest in pro-life organizations mainly because they save lives and invest in women and moms,” Pam said. “And we get a blessing, too.”
If the Tebows accepted the doctors’ advice some 31 years ago, the world wouldn’t have Tim, and we all know how much he has done and is still doing for those in need of help.
She said, “We need to stand up for these special kids — they are a gift from the Lord.”
Pam’s new book, “Ripple Effects” is set to be released on May 7, 2019.
Lisa West Williams was waiting to get off the plane at the airport in Raleigh, North Carolina, never assuming the delay was due to an event that broke her heart and brought tears in her eyes.
That day the body of a fallen soldier was brought home to his wife and family. Along with the video of the touching scene she posted on her Facebook account, Williams wrote, “There was not a dry eye around me.” Honestly, seeing it, we couldn’t help but cry, too.
The members of the military put their life on the line every single day, all for the sake of our freedom, and we can never thank these people enough for the sacrifice they make.
U.S. Army soldier and Warrant Officer Shawn Thomas lost his life during his deployment in Niger, Africa on February 2 as a result of the injuries he suffered in an accident with a non-combat vehicle.
Thomas had been deployed before and spent some time serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a Green Beret of the 1st Battalion and 3rd Special Forces Group, he worked in civil affairs and trained troops against terrorism. His dedication and service had been awarded with numerous awards among which two Bronze Stars.
When the casket with Thomas’ body arrived at the airport, covered with the Star Spangled Banner, his wife, T.J. was there to say the hardest goodbye.
The grieving but proud wife kneeled down and put her hand on the casket. Seeing that, onlookers felt heartbroken. They could see right there, in front of their very own eyes just how much military men and women, as well as their families, sacrifice.
Williams’ video spread very quickly and once it got to T.J. she contacted Williams and thanked her for sharing it with the whole nation.
Many thanked Thomas for his service and sent prayers to his family.
“Brave soldier, we thank you for your life and service to our country. God bless you,” one commentator wrote.
The 3rd Special Forces Group also expressed sorrow for the loss of their soldier:
“Our deepest condolences go out to Warrant Officer Thomas’ family, friends and colleagues.”
We would also like to express our gratitude for everything brave officer Shawn Thomas did for our country. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children.
Different people understand God’s words differently. People interpret and act in a different way when they try to put in action the teachings of Jesus. Therefore, when Jesus taught us that every follower has to take up his or her own cross and follow him, he did not think of the actual cross, though.
However, Acie Burleson, understood this call literally.
This man became Jesus follower some 14 years ago. He and his wife are dedicated Christians and they have strong faith in Jesus and his teachings.
Very soon, Acie felt a need to build a physical, large, cross and share the gospel. According to him, he had a dream and a voice told him:
“Go and tell others about the returning of Christ Jesus.”
Acie started travelling across the country. He visited many places and the nation learnt about his spiritual journey. He was particularly noticed by the people when he started walking with a large cross.
He announced that on March 11 he will start the journey with the cross and he hoped that by the end of May he will reach the Grand Canyon.
He is persistent and doesn’t give up. Some people’s bad comments do not stop him to keep up going. He said:
“I love Jesus. That’s it. I just love Jesus.”
He also faced up with a street preacher, and Burleson said:
“I just told him that God loves him, Jesus loves him. I’m just doing my best to share the Gospel … As long as God’s Word got out, that’s all that really matters.”
There is another video of Burleson, recorded by Corinth Today. In the video he explains why he is doing the journey, and he says “because Jesus Christ is still good news.”
On April 29, he arrived in Memphis, Tennessee. There, he shared one story with Carolina News and Reporter. He says:
“There was a woman driving and she was just looking at me, so I waved like ‘Hello’ and kept walking. She then cut me off and is just falling out of her window weeping and crying,” He said. “Just like that crying and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh what’s wrong? What happened? Are you alright?’ and she said ‘I was one block away from killing myself and you stopped me.’”
He explains that while his journey lasts, he will not ask anything from the people. He will only accept what is offered to him. Therefore, people offered him rides, lodgings and support.
Besides spreading the God’s words, Burleson is also encouraging others to do a similar thing. One person that encountered Burleson was Steve Morgan. He saw Burleson near the Univierity of South Carolina campus and he says that what Burleson achieved is showing that we should not be afraid to talk about our faith in God.
He adds:
“I think today many people are afraid of it. They are afraid to say, hey I am a little bit different. This is what I believe.”
Nevertheless, Burleson has not reached his final destination yet and he does not know what will happen till the end. He says:
“Whether or not I stay there or go, I don’t know yet.”
Despite all difficulties, Burleson is dedicated to accomplish what he has been dreaming of. It is certainly not an easy task to do, especially since you carry a large cross on your back.
Faith and Jesus are central elements in this person’s life and we do hope that he will endure all obstacles and he will finally manage to achieve his goals.
Memory loss is one of the most frustrating things that can happen to one person. Not remembering what you have been doing recently is very annoying. It’s a real struggle.
Caitlin Little, a teenager from North Carolina, knows this very well. Her condition, well-depicted in the famous film ‘My First 50 Dates’, is no joke at all.
One accident left Little with this frustrating condition. It happened on October 12, 2017. She was running cross country for Southeast Guilford High School in Greensboro and then the life-changing accident occurred.
You wouldn’t normally expect such an injury during a running activity, but for Little it was very unpleasant.
It was time for practice for Little. As she was running, someone ran into her and both of them hit each other. However, for Little this incident was more serious, she suffered a concussion.
Immediately she felt a sharp headache. Upon getting to the hospital, the neurologists checked Little’s head and they said they would do everything just to prevent the concussion from getting worse.
Her father, Chris Little spoke for WGHP. He talks about the doctor’s suggestions and his daughter’s condition. He says:
“…he recommended, ‘cocooning.’ Cocoon her, protect her from anything very stimulating that might induce more headaches.
‘Well, OK, this looks pretty bad,’” Chris goes on. “‘But, in my experience,’ he said, ’90 percent of these resolve themselves in three weeks.’”
Days and weeks passed since the terrible incident and it was now evident that Little’s life is dramatically changed. The most frustrating thing for this young lady is that, as a result of the concussion, her short-term memory is lost. In other words, after she wakes up in the morning, she is not able to remember what happened the previous day.
Chris adds:
“I’m always afraid that she’s going to jump out of bed and tell me, ‘It’s wrong’ and, ‘It can’t be.’ And, why am I lying to her?”
Jeniffer Little, Caitlin’s mother says:
“I wake every morning thinking this was just a nightmare.”
Caitlin herself shares her experience with friends and other people. For WGHP she explains:
“I get plagued by confusion most often, wanting to know, ‘Well, how did that happen?’”
Furthermore, she adds:
“[I have to be] very organized. So I have lots of Post-It notes that say, ‘Hey, let’s do this,’ or, ‘This is new,’ or things to help me out. So it’s not as hard as I’d imagine it’d be without them.’”
This situation affects Caitlin’s school as well. The teachers explain that she has to keep photos of the teachers in her binder as a reminder who they are and what they are teaching.
Tracy Helms, a special education teacher, spoke with WGHP, explaining:
“I come in and meet her and she doesn’t know who I am. Every day, she doesn’t know where her seat is in this class, she doesn’t know who her teacher is. Every day is fresh and new to her, just like it’s never been seen before.”
We do understand Caitlin’s struggle on daily basis. This is a very frustrating and painful struggle. Not being able to remember the previous day is a very difficult condition. It affects every sphere of her social existence.
We do pray that Caitlin’s memory will improve so she can continue living her life as she wants.
Every parent wants all the best for his/ her child. That’s not something new. We, as parents, try to give our best just to make the kids happy and satisfied. We don’t want the kids to be left in sad and depressing mood, no matter what.
This is also true for Neil Markham and his daughter Ella from Oxfordshire, England, UK. Ella has Down Syndrome, but that doesn’t stop her from fully enjoying the life.
Neil and his 16-year old daughter went to see the Trottenham Hotspur FC. The team played for the first time in the new stadium and that means a lot of fun for the spectators.
At the end, Spurs lost the match, but that didn’t stop the family from having the most beautiful moments in their lives.
As they were walking around the stadium, they saw a live band. Their music and the positive vibes made Ella feel like never before.
Ella started dancing and having a great time. Immediately, Neil took the camera and recorded the extremely happy daughter. He posted the story on Twitter.
The moment was just adorable for them. Neil laughed a lot and his idea was that since this made him happy, it will probably make other people smile as well. Therefore, he posted the video, but trolls started leaving bad comments, especially because of the fact that Ella has Down syndrome.
The story was heard by ‘This Morning’ as well. Neil talked about the event and the comments. He explained that many comments were too cruel, and he did not show all of them to his wife. This made him feel devastated.
Neil started thinking about handling the situation in a proper way. He said:
“The only way I could do is to confront them.”
Therefore, he started retweeting to the bad comments. His intention was to fight back, but in case that’s not achievable, at least he could clarify the situation in details. Among the things, he wrote:
“This is the sort of ignorance that I have to put up with from time to time. My daughter sees the best in everyone even people like this. I’m very proud of her.”
However, as soon as he started retweeting, the original comments were deleted by the people themselves.
Nevertheless, there were not only bad comments. There were also positive ones, who supported Neil and his daughter. One of them was even Micky Hazard. He wrote:
“Hey Neil your daughter is a beautiful young Lady and that is such a beautiful photo of you both. Sometimes people are cruel because they don’t see the beauty but the vast majority do.”
Hey Neil your daughter is a beautiful young Lady and that is such a beautiful photo of you both. Sometimes people are cruel because they don’t see the beauty but the vast majority do. I have a Finale programme signed By the Legends for her, meet me at agame so I can give to her X
Besides Hazard, Graham Rogers also posted and he invited Ella to a gala dinner. He said:
“I can’t wait to spend a special evening with her.”
The Spurs’ spokesperson also made announcement regarding this case. For Daily Mail he said:
“We are extremely disappointed to see the reaction by a small minority of people to a social media post by Ella’s father of his daughter at our most recent home game.”
He also added:
“We will do all we can to identify those responsible for these posts and take the appropriate action. We are in contact with Ella’s family to ensure she realises just how grateful we are for her support and that has been reflected even wider by the overwhelmingly positive support to the video from true football supporters.”
Neil finally accomplished what he wanted to achieve. He showed that Ella is “a normal person who would smile at you and doesn’t deserve to have have fun poked at her.”
This is Ella. Im not asking you to say how beautiful she is or for you to like the post. All I really want after tonight is to treat her as a normal person who would smile at you and doesn’t deserve to have have fun poked at her pic.twitter.com/fnGq9V5elH
Mother sentenced to 22 years to life in prison for deliberately poisoning her son with vast amounts of salt throughout the years speaks of her life behind bars. The 28-year-old woman named Lacey Spears complaints how her inmates treat her badly and constantly bully her, calling her “baby killer.”
The case of the death of five-year-old Garnett shook the nation as many were reading his mother’s blogs where she would inform the public and her “fans” of her son’s condition, who she claimed refused to eat. However, doctors, as well as authorities, later learned how the little boy’s feeding bags were full of toxic levels of sodium.
When sweet Garnett was born back in 2008, his mother Lacey said how the baby’s father was an officer named Blake who suffered a tragic death prior to his son’s birth. It was later discovered how this was a made up story and that the man never really existed.
Baby Garnett was released from the hospital as a perfectly healthy baby, but only days after getting home, he developed problems with malnutrition and dehydration.
Speaking to 48 Hours, Lacey said, “Garnett had severe ear infections … and the biggest problem we had was we couldn’t get him to eat … so he was losing weight…he just would not take a bottle, he would not take baby food, he would not nurse.” As a result of that, she took her son to numerous hospitals where he was seen by many doctors.
At one occasion, doctors at a hospital in Alabama found Garnett’s sodium levels to be as high as 180. This was way higher than the normal ranges for infants. Lacey claimed the boy refused any food at that point and instead of gaining weight, he was losing it.
During the first nine
months of his life, Garnett was hospitalized 23 times and the fact he wasn’t
receiving the essential nutritients to survive worried the doctors.
Lacey spread the word of her ill son all over the social media and kept people update of his condition on her blog “Garnett’s Journey.”
Garnett’s condition only improved after he and Lacey moved to Chestnut Ridge, N.Y. back in 2012. They resided at an alternative and holistic community called The Fellowship Community and spent around a year and a half at the place. According to Lacey, her son was thriving there and things seemed to turn just right for them.
“He was a little
social butterfly and he loved it,” Spears told “48 Hours.”
Unfortunately, that didn’t last long as shortly after he turned five, Lacey’s “little prince” was hospitalized again. Doctors monitored his brain activity by setting up a special wired cap on his little head.
The results showed that the sodium levels in Garnett’s body were extremely high. He was then transferred to Westchester’s Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital by helicopter, but nothing could be done. It was already too late for the sweet little angel to be saved. The high levels of sodium made his brain swell.
Doctors believed it was Lacey who poisoned her son with salt over the five years of his life. They alerted the authorities of their suspicions. During the police search of Lacey’s place, they seized hundreds of items, including the bottle of sea salt shown in the photo below.
Garret was declared
dead on Jan. 23, 2014 and his mother was arrested on June 17, that same year.
Lacey Spears was convicted of murder. The judge said how what her son had to go through while under her care was “nothing short of torture.”
The main evidence against her was the footage taken at the boy’s hospital room. It clearly showed how Lacey took the child in her arms and brought him to the bathroom. Only seconds after they returned, Garnett started feeling worse and was seen putting his head in the bed. His mother was just looking at him as the medical staff was trying to save him.
It was later determined how for the time they left the room, she put salt in his feeding bag.
NY Daily News reported how Garett’s feeding bags that were at his mother’s home contained life-threatening concentrations of salt. One of them contained doses that were equal to 69 McDonald’s salt packets.
This mother always found a way to fool doctors when asked about her son’s health, saying he experienced eating issues.
She continues claiming how she didn’t harm her child and had nothing to do with his death. She insists that the reason for his passing were the numerous procedures that weakened his body.
However, according to the judge who convicted her to 22 years to life, she obviously suffers from a condition where parents make up or cause health issues in their children all for the sake of gaining public attention.
He proceeded saying, “One does not have to be a psychologist to know that you suffer from a mental illness known as Munchausen Syndrome.”
While serving her sentence in Bedford Hills prison, Lacey complains how inmates bully her and call her “baby killer.” She spoke to John Glatt, the author of the book about her and said how she wanted to be transferred to another prison.
Her sister Rebecca told Glatt about Lacey, “When she walked through the line and it would be her turn to pick up the tray (someone) would put salt packets over her meal and then hand the tray to her.”
“It’s been brutal here. Crimes involving children are considered the worst here,” Lacey reportedly told Glatt.
“I hear them talking behind my back, calling me ‘baby killer,’ ‘child killer,’ and ‘mother of the year.’ But I know it’s not who I am.”
On the other hand, she refuses protective custody at a maximum security facility because she doesn’t want to be spending 23 hours a day in solitary confinement.
This woman was able to poison her child and see him die right in front of her eyes only to gain the sympathy of her Facebook followers.
Some people still consider her the perfect mother she tried to present herself to the world, as she still finds ways to stay in touch with the outside world.
Below is the video which depicts the exact moment Garett’s condition gets worse and he eventually dies. Lacey could be seen getting him to the bathroom and reportedly carrying the salt in her hand.
Take a look at the whole story and make your mind up on this case yourself.
Darren Ballard from Tacoma, Washington shared a great story with us. It’s something we cannot see on regular basis.
This resident of Tacoma, Washington was driving his car. In the car was his fiancée as well. While they were driving the car, they had to stop next to a police car.
When they stopped, Ballard saw the car of the sheriff’s deputy. The police car was not the reason for his surprise, though. What was happening next to the car got Ballard’s attention.
Thanks to Ballard’s interest to capture that moment we can all witness this interesting case.
The sheriff was sitting on the side of the road. At first glance it was difficult to notice what was actually happening. However, Ballard couldn’t miss the man sitting next to the sheriff.
For CBS News, Ballard says:
”I just couldn’t believe my eyes.”
What Ballard actually witnessed was a kindness in action. The good and kind heart of the sheriff was evident from the photo that has been posted. He shared his lunch with one homeless guy.
Ballard adds:
“I look over and there’s an officer in uniform, sitting on the grass, sitting with a homeless guy sharing a sandwich and I was just blown away”, he said.
He goes on:
“Just saw this cop having a sandwich with a homeless guy … wanting no attention just doing a good deed,”
Soon he posted the photo and added this comment:
“There are good police officers out there … this made my day, please share!”
The post and the image was spread immediately. Thousands of people saw what the sheriff did. Everyone admired the man’s kindness and generosity.
One person wrote:
“I think this is fabulous. Cops are humans too — just like this fellow that happens to be homeless.”
Another one added:
“Most are good people. It’s nice to see this side of them.”
Details about the sheriff and the homeless person appeared after the photo was posted on-line.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Ed Troyer announced that the deputy wanted to remain anonymous. He also added that when he found the man he started talking to him and that’s how they meet each other.
The spokesperson said:
“Our deputy asked him if he was hungry the man said he was. So the deputy sat down with him and shared his lunch with the man,”
Furthermore, he explains that things like this one happen quite often in the department. They are proud of that.
In addition he appreciates the share of the news.
“It’s nice for the police, who do handle their job with the utmost passion and respect in the field, get a break with some good positive news for a change.”
A similar case is recorded in Jackson, Tennessee. Elizabeth McClain informs us about the scene.
She saw a homeless man at the side of the road. He had a backpack and his state made Elizabeth feel sorry for the man. He looked tired and hungry.
However, as soon as she saw the man, a police car came and a police officer approached the homeless man.
She posted the story on her Facebook page and she wrote:
”Imagine sitting on the side of the road with everything you own, fitting in a backpack.”
She goes on:
“You’re lonely and hungry. You put your head down to try and forget the scream of hunger echoing in your mind. Then you hear the sound of an engine stop.”
“You look up to see a uniformed officer walking towards you. Your mind flutters thinking of everything you might be doing wrong. Suddenly this officer sits down pulls out lunch and not only takes away your hunger but your loneliness too.”
She also adds:
“This is the side of law enforcement no one sees,” she said, reminding others that we are all human and deserve love and respect.”
“So share this.”
“Show this officer that his act of kindness didn’t go unnoticed.”
These two officers are excellent examples. They taught us a lesson about how we should behave in our society.
We should show more respect and support for those who are out of luck. They need us!
Those of us who are lucky enough win the lottery and their dreams come true. Extra money is always a great thing and they do come in handy.
However, there is always that doubt of scamming. No matter how good the person is, there are always the fears of being scammed and cheated.
In some cases it’s the organizer who does the scamming, while in many cases it is the cashier that is responsible for such scamming.
A story of this type was broadcast by WBBH-TV. The story comes from Myers, Florida.
Everything started with a guy entering Winn-Dixie Liquors to claim his money reward.
But, the cashier turned out to be nothing but a complete liar. Instead of giving the man $600 for the ticket, the cashier told him the ticket worth $5.
Clever trick for cheating people. The plan is intended to be working and that means easy money for the cashier. However, the things didn’t go as planned.
The cashier was Crystelle Yvette Baton. She took out $5 bill from her handbag, gave it to the man and took the ticker for herself. She thought the job is done.
Nevertheless, the surprise was about to be revealed. The man with the ticket was actually an employee of Florida Lottery Commission’s security division. He was undercover.
The cashier was caught. She was charged with larceny grand theft and she had to appear in court later in February.
Busting cashier workers is part of the regular obligations of the commission. According to the commission, they make “these random visits to sellers to make sure the games are played properly.”
Regarding this case, Winn-Dixie announced the following:
“We are taking this matter very seriously as the trust and safety of our customers is our highest priority.”
Their promise was actually realised. Later they have said: “The associate’s employment has been terminated.”
Be aware of such people and scams. Many people are not even aware that things like these may happen, but they are more common than you think.
Thanks to the commission and their efforts, cashiers are being busted on regular basis. We do hope that this type of crime will be severely punished and people will not be cheated in the future.
Kindergartens, preschools, and any other similar educational facilities should be nothing but places where the children would feel safe and be under constant supervision and care. Knowing this, most parents don’t have any concerns when leaving their kids in the hands of the professionals.
However, there are cases where children are left injured or hurt by their peers. This is, unfortunately, not that uncommon taking into consideration the fact they are just kids and are not really aware of the consequences of their behavior.
But a recent case of a one-year-old girl whose back was severely bitten eight times raised concerns about the possibility of leaving toddlers unattended.
KGUN reports how the incident took place at the Sunrise Preschool in Maricopa. It wasn’t until father Rylee Umsted went to pick up the girl that he realized there were bite marks all over her back. Now, he and his wife Rocio Enriquez are demanding answers.
Umsted said how he knew something was wrong the moment he saw his daughter.
”She was shaking and I knew she didn’t want to be there” he said.
Everything the parents were told was that the incident took place twenty minutes before they arrived, but they didn’t know exactly why another kid would do that to Mila. The explanations they were getting didn’t seem right.
“She told me there were three children in the classroom including my daughter,” Enriquez said.
“A teacher was changing a diaper … when another child went on top of her and started biting her.”
“One bite mark that you look at you’d be like, she’d be screaming bloody murder. So I want to know if someone heard a scream, where was management?” Enriquez added.
Reportedly, everything happened in about 30 seconds, which the parents say wasn’t a short period of time, and someone should have intervened asap.
The incident was captured on the surveillance video but the parents were denied access to it, which makes the whole thing suspicious.
“We don’t know what to think because we don’t know the true answer,” Umsted said.
“But there’s a video out there that tells the truth.”
Both Enriquez and Umsted say how what happened to their girl shouldn’t ever happen to any other child and in other similar or even worse incidents to be avoided, changes at the way preschools operate have to be made.
“Sunrise should’ve either had two teachers in that room or they need different training,” Umsted said.
Sunrise Preschools issued the following statement:
“We are deeply concerned about the incident that occurred at the Sunrise Preschools Maricopa location. The safety of our children is our number one priority. Sunrise Preschools immediately provided care and assistance to the injured child. We are in contact with parents of both children involved. We are cooperating with the proper authorities and are unable to provide additional details at this time.”
Only hours later, a new statement had been published.
“We are truly sorry for an incident that occurred at our new center in Maricopa. Sunrise Preschools considers safety of the children in our care job one. It is our first priority. It is why we have been privileged to provide child care for more than three decades. On Thursday April 25th a toddler was bitten multiple times by another toddler during a very short timeframe. This should not have happened. Only four children were under the supervision of the caregiver watching the children. That caregiver has been suspended without pay pending further investigation.
Our mission is to educate as well as care for children. In this instance Sunrise will use this unfortunate incident as a way to further educate ourselves with input from our parents and the community”, it said.
Currently, the case is still under investigation and sweet Mila’s parents hope they’ll learn what really happened to their girl that day.
When it comes to dancing and wowing the crowds, Ireland is the place. Step dancing is in their DNA and they can’t help by show their dancing skills whenever they’re given the chance. If you’ve ever been to this stunning country and met its amazingly friendly and cheerful people, you have probably stumbled upon street dancers, too. It really is a totally unique experience. People are gathered around the dancers and see them putting their hearts into the moves of the traditional routines.
The passersby who were thrilled watching a lady performing on the busy streets of Galway, west of Ireland, got more than what they hoped for. Someone really special joined the lady and it brought huge grin on everyone’s face.
Among the crowd, there was a little girl who just couldn’t take her eyes of off the dancing lady. It was obvious she was enchanted by the performance and it looked like she was waiting to take part in it as she is seen approaching the dancer and then getting back again. As the performer noticed the hesitant girl, she encouraged her to take the dance ‘floor’ by dancing her way to her.
Once the girl realized the dancer took a notice of her, she became even more excited and her cute face was glowing from all the happiness she felt at that very special moment. She then got encouraged by the people who were now all looking at her and started dancing even better and in a more cheerful manner than before. Needless to say, everyone enjoyed looking at this Irish dancing performer in the making.
This really made everyone’s day. The joy the girl experienced spread to the rest of the onlookers. The dancing lady was glad she had a partner and didn’t mind the fact that the little lady stole her show. Irish music has that power of spreading happiness around.
The sad story of Dana Scatton shook the nation. In December 2017, this young lady was diagnosed with a DIPG, an extremely rare brain cancer.
However, Dana was 29 weeks pregnant when the doctors revealed the terrible news. They also added that she had only 3 months to live.
Nevertheless, the doctors also emphasized that she should not worry about the baby’s safety since the radiation was not harmful to the baby itself. As a result, Dana gave birth to Aries Marie.
Unfortunately, in sorrow and sadness, Dana’s family announced some very tragic news.
Dana knew that she had to fight with the illness really hard. She had strong faith in God and she was a funny and positive person.
She was just 17 when the doctors informed her about the terrible and deadly disease.
The symptoms of the disease were difficulties while speaking, swallowing and even walking.
For The Advertiser, she said:
“I was really overtired. But things kept getting worse. I was forgetting to swallow, and my speech got weird. Then my legs started not responding to things—when I would walk, my legs would drag. That’s when I really got concerned.”
She was not left alone. The family was there to support her and encourage her.
Her story got the nation’s attention. Everyone was following her tragic story and prayed for her well-being.
Dana’s fate was so tragic. While pregnant, she had to go through difficult procedures in order to save her and her baby’s life. She indeed gave birth to a healthy and cute little baby.
Dana had several rounds of radiation but the symptoms were getting worse.
Instead of enjoying with the baby, she had to fight the memory loss, problems with her vision, pain, headache and chemotherapy.
“She was crying and once they put her on Dana’s chest, she stopped,” Scatton’s brother, Josiah Gundry said. “
The baby is doing really well … I told my boss about the birth, and he said, ‘One miracle down … one to go.’ ”
“When Dana was going in for the C-section, we were all anxious and stressing,” he said.
“And she was just calm. She told us, ‘Listen, it’s gonna be fine.’ I said to her, ‘I don’t know how you’re doing this.’
And she said to me, ‘I just try to trust in God.’”
Dana did not survive the battle. She passed away a week ago. Her family posted on Facebook the following:
“This morning shortly before 4 a.m., Dana left us to be with the lord”
They also added:
“She inspired us all to be better than who we are and to keep God in our focus at every moment. She faced the greatest fear of all, death, and smiled back with a grin only God can instill. She fought harder than the toughest warriors known to man and did it with grace and valor.”
Her funeral was on Friday and it was streamed on the Internet.
”We may never have the rights to say to truly honor the amazing, smart, loving, caring, passionate, incredibly beautiful and free spirited mother, daughter, niece, cousin, friend and independent woman Dana was every day.”
After the funeral, the family announced:
“Thank you for the support you’ve given Dana over the last 16 months. Thank you for never giving up on her and her fight. Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight in person and online to celebrate Dana. We feel very blessed that Dana was loved and supported by so many, from all over the world”.
Shortly before her death, Dana said:
“It was such a wake-up call. Getting death thrown in your face … it’s so real. It really shows you what’s true. This world doesn’t matter, it’s temporary, you know? When I found out, I immediately let the world go. It’s like, that doesn’t matter anymore. We have to look at the eternal life. We all think we have so much time … honestly, I feel thankful that I have this time to wake up and realize what’s right. And I want everybody to see that. Even though others didn’t get the news that I did, I want them to wake up. I feel blessed that I have this time to make things right–others don’t get that time–death happens in the blink of an eye.”
May God give you peace and rest among the Angels. You suffered a lot in this world so may God reward you in the next one.
Our prayers and support go to the Dana’s family. Such a tragic loss!!
We may all speak different languages, but that of music is universal and everyone understands it. Nothing really has the power to unite people the way music does. Dancing to the rhythm gives you the feel of liberty and enjoyment, and some of the songs and melodies artists performed throughout the years became classics that never get out of style, even many years have passed by.
A group of high school performers gave their classmates a prom night to remember after they danced their way to the floor, leaving everyone in awe and great mood.
The show started with Ben E. King’s iconic song “Stand by Me” and switched to the all time classic “Let’s Twist Again” by Chubby Checker. Although some of the students weren’t even familiar with these evergreens, there is no doubt everyone just loved both the songs and their classmates’ dancing routine.
It’s not the first time for this type of routine to be performed, where dancing styles from various eras spanning the past 50 years are perfectly combined together. In fact, the person who came up with this “Evolution of Dance” is dancer Jason Laipply. When he first uploaded a video of himself dancing back in 2001, people went mad over the performance and it was quickly spread over the Internet like a wildfire.
Ever since the video saw the light of the day, hundreds of other artists were inspired to come up with their own versions of it.
The dancing of these young boys was entitled “New Evolution of Dance” and it turned their school’s prom night into a totally different and unique experience. It included hits from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s and it made literally everyone move along the addictive rhythm. The boys weren’t afraid to show off their talent and skills in front of their friends as it was obvious they practiced it long and hard enough to nail it.
All you see is a bunch of teenagers twirling, bouncing, and laughing, and it’s awesome to say the least.
We are so glad these boys’ peers weren’t the only ones to enjoy the show. It was spread all over social media and we can’t help but fall in love with the way they move around.
This is definitely something you don’t want to miss. Take a look at it in the video below and tell us if you are familiar with all the dancing styles they rocked.
The Makeover Guy and his excellent team attract clients from all over the country. Christopher Hopkins’ work is appreciated by thousands of women that have visited him. Laurel Shedeen from Hanover, Minnesota travelled all the way to the ‘Makeover Guy’ just to have a new fresh look. This positive lady made everyone laugh.
During the initial interview, Laurel explains that in the past she had gone to a beauty school. Therefore, she thought she knew how to style her hair and give herself the perfect look. However, after just few minutes with Christopher’s team she explains that she actually knows nothing. This team is just fantastic.
She doesn’t stop joking. Upon asking her what is her expectation from the makeover, she says that she would like to lose some 60 lbs and look like Jennifer Aniston. Everyone laughs and have fun with this interesting lady. However, what she didn’t know is that the team is not joking. They would give their best to turn Laurel into a gorgeous and fabulous lady.
Laurel’s hair before the makeover was long and wavy. The grey hair was losing its volume. Laurel explains that she rarely visits salons since she does her own hair. Laurel also shows how she does her own hair.
When she was younger she paid more attention to her hair and look. With the age, she cared less and less about the hair and the general look as a matter of fact. Now, truth to be told, she forgot many techniques that she used in the past. However, thanks to Christopher and his team, she again learnt how to take a proper care of her hair. She explains:
“I want to learn how to look good again. I’m not trying to be 30 again but I don’t want to look 70, either.”
As expected, the people who saw the video simply loved this fascinating makeover. They left many positive comments. One person said:
“What a happy video! She looks stunning and her vivacious personality really shines through! Way to go everyone!”
Another one posted:
“Omgoodness! I bet she made you all laugh the entire day! Total package right there…. looking good and a sense of humor!! Fantastic!”
Third person wrote:
“Fabulous, I gasped when I saw her reveal. She looks rejuvenated.”
Upon asking her what her husband’s opinion would have been, she says:
“A few years ago, I went to beauty school and walked out with purple hair. And he said I lived with the purple, I can live with anything. I think he’ll like this.”
Barry Weiss, the star of the popular A&E “Storage Wars” was involved in a motorcycle accident which left him with severe injuries. TMZ reports he suffered broken bones and other internal injuries.
The accident took place on Wednesday, April 24, when a car driver pulled out his vehicle from a parking space without paying attention to the people around him and hit Barry and his friend.
Currently, Weiss is still at the hospital where he recovers and his condition is stable. His friend Jamie suffered less serious injuries and ended up with a broken knee, elbow and wrist. He later posted a video from the crash scene and a photo of him at the hospital writing, “Not a good day at the office, a serious crash today while out riding with a friend. I got lucky, only a broken knee, elbow and wrist. My friend is much worse and has serious chest and leg trauma. Please send your prays to Barry.”

Barry became a celebrity after taking part in the series, season 1 to 4 in which he often appeared driving fancy and classic cars. After he left “Storage Wars” he featured in two spin-off series where he spoke of his antique collections and passions.
“Barry is a larger-than-life character with a story for every situation, and his colorful personality brings out the best and the worst of the people around him”, the A&E states.
Social media users are sending well wishes and hope the 68-year-old star recovers fast and continues enjoying his motorcycles and cars.
We, parents, wish nothing but safe and happy lives for our kids. Our main concerns are about the well-being of the children.
Of course, no matter what we do, we can never make sure that the kid is always under our care and protection. Sometimes, places which look like safe and secure may hide some unwanted dangers.
This was particularly true for one Kansas City mother named Christa Moore. She took her daughter to a nearby playground.
However, this enclosed playground brought very unpleasant experience to the mother. She left her 2-year old daughter explore the playground, not even considering the possible dangers that may hide in such places.
That particular afternoon was reserved for fun and joy. The kid loves that place because many other kids are having fun there as well. The mother sat aside and watched her kid.
The mother and the kid were in Kemp Park in Kansas City. The kid was having fun on the swings.
The peaceful and happy moments were about to turn into something terrible. That alerted the mother and made her react immediately.
What the mother noticed was a man, which according to her, ‘eyeballed’ her daughter.
The suspicious man made her pay close attention to her daughter. She was even more shocked to witness how that terrifying situation started developing right in front of her eyes.
Later, she explained that she saw the man started walking towards her daughter. He even dared to lift her from the swing.
What he did next petrified the mother. The man pulled down the girl’s diaper and her pants.
She immediately started running towards her daughter.
The later police investigation and reports show that the man’s name was William Bates Jr. According to the reports, the mother knocked the man down.
Bates lost his balance and fell. The mother got on top of him. Her intention was to keep the man there until the authorities arrive.
However, the man managed to get away and ran off. Next, Christa called the police. For KCTV she says:
“I don’t get how anyone would hurt a child like that. He walked up toward my daughter and the next thing I know, he’s grabbing her pants and ripped them down. He ripped her diaper when he did it.”
She also adds:
“I just wanted to hurt him.”
Luckily, the police found the man. Bates was caught nearby. He was caught with marijuana and some unidentified chemical fluid.
According to the reports, Bates told the authorities that he has been given a cigarette by unknown person and therefore he didn’t remember what had happened.
He also adds that he thought that he had been drugged.
Nevertheless, this arrest triggered the community and they demand higher level of safety in the neighbourhood and the city.
Christa’s bravery paid off. Thanks to her on-time reaction, a terrible outcome is avoided.
Share and spread the news. Let’s contribute in our kids’ safety and well-being.
A woman from Arizona was praised by the females from all over the country and beyond for what she did to the man who treated her with disrespect. This story should teach any person like this rude guy a lesson.
While Krystal Olsen, 32, was on the job at the bar where she works, she approached a group of guys asking what they wanted to drink, when one of them reached up her skirt and grabbed her rear end. This made Olsen furious and deeply offended and she wasn’t going to let him off the hook for his rude behavior.
She decided to stand up for herself and dragged the man out of the place in a chokehold.
The man then slammed Olsen up against a wall and believed he did nothing wrong when he touched her inappropriately. The guys from the security stepped in and got Olsen out of the man’s hands. She then called the police.
Once he realized cops were on their way and that he was likely ending up at the police station, he started crying like a little baby.
As a sweet revenge, Olsen took a picture of him and posted in on Twitter, writing, “This guy grabbed my a**, I dragged him out in a chokehold, he slammed me into a wall. And he is crying like a b**** when he got arrested.”
As her post vent viral, many women said how the way she handled the situation was worth a praise. She wouldn’t let a total stranger humiliate her that way.
“If more men got their a**** beat for for harassing/assaulting women they’d learn quickly that a woman’s body belongs to no one but herself,” wrote one commenter.
“I have three daughters,” wrote one concerned parent. “I hope they do the same.”
“You are awesome and I want my daughter to grow up to be just like you,” another person added.
There were also those who said how posting the crying man’s photo was sort of mean. But we believe this girl had all the right to do it so he won’t do the same thing to another woman ever again.
A very interesting video was posted on the Internet. It involves a kitten, a police officer, and a driver. This cannot be seen everyday and is so funny.
Keith Urban, a policeman, was doing a routine traffic stop. This is a normal routine for Urban, but this time it was different. When he stopped a car, a nice and friendly cat interrupted the check.
Thanks to the dash camera of the police car we can see this rare incident. For Taylor Daily Press, Urban said:
“I think the driver of that vehicle was laughing a little bit … And the driver even offered to get out of the vehicle and remove the cat.”
As it can be seen from the video, the cat was very friendly. Urban also added that he felt sorry because be had to ‘shoot the cat away’. However, the cat came back again!
Seeing your child for the first time right after they are welcomed into the world is priceless. That’s a moment every parent keeps close to the heart and cherishes forever. The military men, however, don’t always get to see their loved ones giving birth to their offspring because it happens that they are deployed exactly at the time of the due date. That’s really sad, we must say.
Marine Cpl. Brandon Crespo is one of those brave men who missed the birth of his son because he was serving in another country. According to Little Things, the sweet baby was born on June 13, 2018 and the proud father could only listen to the baby’s tiny voice but didn’t get the chance to be there by his wife’s side.
But now, after six months spent away from his family, this father would finally meet baby Noah. He was beyond excited to hold him in his hands and kiss him.
The cute and very emotional video of the father-son first ever encounter was shared online and on Ellen DeGeneres’ site too. It was quickly spreaded around and people agree how it was one of the best family reunions they’ve ever seen. Ellen thought so too and invited them to be her guests on the show.
“It was definitely hard…” Francis shared, explaining that sometimes they only talked once a month while Brandon was on the ship. “Having to go through pregnancy all by myself, it was definitely difficult…”
Our favorite host was as kind and as generous as always and together with Shutterfly they gave the family $20,000. They would use the money to go on the honeymoon they never had.
“When we first posted the video it was just for family members,” Francis told Ellen.
“We’re just regular people,” she added.
Brandon starts crying even before he reaches his loving wife and his newborn son, and we can’t hold our tears back as we are flooded with emotions. This is all so touching.
Being a mom is something most women want to experience in their life. However, many have no idea of how challenging it is to be raising a child. Because it’s not just the baby you take care of. The commitments you had before you even gave birth to that sweet bundle of joy are still there, waiting for you to fulfill them.
A Facebook post by a mother that goes viral speaks of all the pressure working moms, and all moms in general feel every day. Needless to say, many sympathize with the writer of the post and say how they feel completely the same.
Sarah Buckley Friedberg made a list and spoke of everything women are expected to do. And the reality is that they really manage to complete of all the tasks and achieve the unachievable.
“Society to working moms:
-Go back to work 6-8 weeks after having the baby. The baby that you spent 9-10 months growing inside of your body. Go back to work before you have finished healing or have had time to bond with your baby. Keep your mind on work, and not your tiny helpless baby that is being watched and cared for by someone other than you. Make sure to break the glass ceiling and excel at your job- you can do anything a man can do! It is your job to show society this! Show the world that women can do it all. Rise to the top of your career.”
“Also breastfeed for at least a year. So take 2-3 pumping breaks a day at work, but don’t let it throw you off your game or let you lose your focus. -Also, lose that baby weight and get back in shape, as quickly and as gracefully as possible. Make sure to get 8 hours of sleep a night so you can work out, work, and care for your family. But also get up at 5 am to workout, unless you want to do it after your kids go to bed when you also need to clean the house and get life ready for the next day and you know, sleep.”
“Maintain a clean, pinterest worthy house. Take the Christmas lights down. Recycle. Be Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the birthday planner, the poop doula (seriously when will this end), the finder of lost things, the moderator of fights. Be fun. Be firm. Read books. Have dance parties.”
“Maintain the schedule for the entire family. Birthday parties coming up? Make sure to have presents! Ensure the kids are learning to swim, play an instrument, read, ride a bike, be a good human being, eat vegetables, wear sunscreen, drink enough water, say please and thank you. Don’t forget they need to dress as their favorite book character on Monday, and wear something yellow on Thursday. Oh it’s totally your call but most parents come in on their birthday and read to the entire class.
“In case nobody told you, if you have more than one kid you will need to buy new shoes approximately every other day. See also: winter coats, shorts, pants that aren’t 4 inches too short. There will never be matching socks or gloves for any member of the family, ever again. -Remember the dog you got before you had kids? Shes getting old now and needs expensive surgery. She also need walking, a new bed, and she smells pretty bad.”
“Hey! Kids need lots of doctor appointments. Monthly as babies. Every time they are sick. Specialist appointments, especially if any of them have extra needs. At least two school conferences a year. IEP meetings, if applicable. Parents night. Back to school night. Get to know your school night (what IS this). Most parents are volunteering at least once during the year, would you like to come make a craft with the kids? It will only be an hour or two of your time.”
“Sorry, you are now out of vacation time because you used it all for time taking your kids to appointments or when your childcare is unavailable. You should go on vacations though. It’s good to relax and unwind from work. Makes you a better employee. -Don’t forget the kids need healthy meals (and so do you! you are trying to lose that last 20 lbs before swim season right). That requires meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal prep on the weekend. But also hang out with your kids on the weekend since during the week you only get to hang out with them when they are exhausted and angry that you made the wrong kind of spaghetti for dinner.”
“Date your spouse! It’s important to keep your relationship alive and fresh. Try to go out 1-2 times a month. Good, kid free time. Hire a babysitter, they charge 22+ dollars an hour in your area so make sure to take out an extra mortgage and/or work another job to be able to afford this. -Oh hey you should have a hobby too. It’s important to have “you time”. Also be well read, keep up with the latest pop culture and tv shows, and keep an eye on politics and be able to discuss at least one of the above on the small chance you are out in public and encounter another adult necessitating small talk.”
“Make sure to have friends. Social time is SO important. Surely there is an hour or two left in the week after all of the working, appointments, exercising, cooking, scheduling, cleaning, imparting lifelong morals and learning on the kids, the usual. Maybe go out after the kids are down for a glass of wine and a bite to eat. Make it a healthy bite though. And you may regret that wine at your 530 am spin class.”
“Self care though. SO important. See also: getting in shape. See the general doctor, the dentist (TWICE), the lady doctor. Prob need to get your eyes checked. Full body skin checks 2+ times a year (just me? okay well). Mental health too. Postpartum anxiety? But you look fine and your kids are so cute. Everyone should have a therapist. Good luck finding one that takes your insurance and has hours outside of your normal working time (out of vacation time, remember?). That leaves evening time when you want to hang out with your kids. But it’s important, so make time for it.”
“Don’t wear yoga pants and a mom bun or society is going to mock you in numerous witty blog posts. Never mind that nothing fits. Going to have to get up even earlier so you have time to style your hair, wing your eye liner and search for a pair of pants that fits your new post baby (or multiple baby) shape.”
“Get off your phone, turn off the TV, and enjoy your life. Enjoy your kids. THESE ARE THE GOOD TIMES make sure to love every minute of life because before you know it all of this will be in the past.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to lean OUT. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.”

Human cruelty has no limits. A woman from Russia shocked the world after she treated the young boy she fostered in the most inhumane way possible. She starved him and drugged him only to be able to use government’s money which she later spent on luxuries.
This is not the first case of foster parents to be using the system in order to benefit from the poor children they are supposed to treat with love and care. However, this one is one of the most severe we’ve ever heard of. When Lyubov Korotkova took the boy under her wing, she only had one thing in mind. To fool the state and enjoy all the funds she was getting in order to satisfy her personal needs.
Daily Mail has reported how the little boy’s ordeal that took place in her home lasted for long eight years. Not only she starved him, but she also drugged him and gave him different medicine in order for the sweet boy to look ill. She then claimed how he suffered from a rare and inexplicable disease. Looking at the child, he really appeared as he was suffering from something very serious as he was skin and bones.
When her mean intentions were finally brought to a day light, the court sentenced her to six years in prison and she was charged for “special cruelty, humiliation, and torture.” During the years Valery Kondourov, who’s now 11 years old, was living with the wicked woman, she was able to claim around £50,000 in state handouts. Despite serving jail time, the court ordered for her to pay all the money back. She is also expected to pay young Valery £8,000 in ‘moral damages.’
We are so lucky this monster ended behind bars, although we believe her sentence is mild considering the damage she caused to the boy she was supposed to love.
Korotkova not only fooled the doctors, but the whole community too. She collected the sympathy from the people of Magadan, the city where she lives, who hailed her a hero for fostering such an ill child. No one could ever imagine Valery was in fact perfectly healthy and she was the one who neglected him and starved him in purpose. Svetlana Petrenko, of the Russian Federal Investigative Committee said, “The malnutrition was so severe that the 11-year-old boy had the weight of a four-year-old child.”
“For eight years she deliberately was not feeding her fostered child in order to register him as disabled and receive benefits and sickness payments. During all these years the woman was seeing many different doctors with her child, asking them to check him for multiple diseases, including cancer. As a result, the doctors – who were cheated – could not pinpoint the right diagnosis,” Petrenko said. Luckily, one of the doctors found the whole thing suspicious and detected Korotkova’s fraud.
After Valery was taken from the hands of the foster family, he underwent a thorough medical check-up and it was determined how he didn’t suffer from any illnesses. He was just malnourished and at eleven years old he was only 3 feet 5 inches tall, which is what a five year old should look like.
Korotkova’s husband Andrei claimed he didn’t take part in the mistreatment as he wasn’t aware what his wife was doing to the boy they both cared for.
In order for teachers and other people not to realize the boy was in fact healthy, she refused to let him go to school and home-schooled him instead. Regarding Valery’s case, the investigative committee said, “Having cheated the doctors, she managed to register her child as handicapped… and started receiving financial assistance, compensation and other allowances.”
Her neighbors and those who believed she was an angel for taking care of Valery were left in complete shock and couldn’t believe what was happening behind closed doors.
Some members of the community who didn’t want to believe Korotkova was guilty for what he was charged with staged a public campaign asking for the child to be given back to her. Kremlin children’s ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova prevented this from happening.
Korotkova pleaded not guilty for the gruesome act but she was still convicted with “intentional infliction of a grave injury, to a minor (leaving him) in a helpless state.”
She could be seen crying after hearing the verdict.
Luckily, Valery got a second chance in life and is now living with a family who loves him unconditionally. His current foster mom Svetlana Suleimanova is taking great care of him. This woman who has five children on her own has raised eight foster kids. Speaking to The Siberian Times, Svetlana said, “Doctors invited me to inspect the boy. They said they did not find any illnesses but registered strange behavior. The boy quickly ate everything as soon as his mother left the room, but when she was present, he was naughty and said that he was not hungry. He confessed to me later that his mother forced him to say he did not have any appetite. She punished him if he did not obey. She was also giving him some pills and he was always vomiting afterward.”
We pray for sweet Valery to be able to overcome the consequences of the ordeal he was forced to go through.
War veterans deserve all the gratitude in this world for their sacrifice was huge and must never be forgotten. Sadly, many of these people experience hard life once they return to their homeland. Many suffer from PTSD and other stress related conditions. The number of those veterans who fail to get used to the life home and can’t find another job is also huge.
Air Force veteran Ron Hyde didn’t have it easy in life. He was now home, but his health condition was poor as he had cancer and decided to end the chemo treatments he was getting. Living all by himself in a tiny apartment, with only a mattress, didn’t break this man’s spirit. Although he had no furniture and no money, he was still thankful he had a place to call a home.
One event, however, changed Hyde’s days and brought a little happiness in his life.
Hyde visited Goodwill in hopes of finding a nice chair for his place. He purchased a pink one and he loved it, but the thing was that he didn’t know how to get it home as he couldn’t find anyone with a vehicle large enough.
That’s when a woman from Ramona posted online, asking for a good Samaritan to help Hyde transport the chair to his El Cajon, California, home. Although she hoped someone would come across her plea and offer help, neither she, nor Hyde ever though so many people would step in.
Just two days after the purchase, Hyde spotted a large U-haul in front of his home. He had no idea it was full with brand new furniture, and that it was all for him. As he saw people from the neighborhood bringing all that stuff in, he couldn’t contain his excitement.
He just knelled at the kitchen’s counter and shed tears of joy. This veteran’s faith in humanity was restored.
“Who knows how much time he has left?”
one person asked, knowing Hyde was battling cancer.
“But we can at least make it comfortable — he doesn’t have to live on a mattress in the corner.”
Hyde says what he experienced was “a real miracle.” He can now call his place a home. We wish he recovers completely and spend his days in happiness.
