People tend to do things they believe will provide them with a happier and a healthier life, like having long walks, avoiding fast food and opting for healthier choices such as fruits and vegetables, quitting smoking, exercising, and a lot more. However, the secret behind extended life expectancy seems to be found in taking care and babysitting the grandchildren. Yes, you’ve heard that right. If you believed that young kids have the power to make you feel younger when you are around them, then you are not far from the truth.
When they get to bond with the grandchildren, the elderly are calmer and less depressed. The sad reality is that over the years people lose their friends, and sometimes the only companion remaining is the TV, so getting the chance of spending time with their children’s offspring is really refreshing and rewarding, as well as life changing.
This has been confirmed by the science as well. A group of researchers conducted a study involving 500 participants who were over 70 years old. The results imply that those who didn’t babysit their grandkids frequently were at greater risk of death than those who did.
According to Dr Ronan Factora
“there is a link between taking care of someone and reducing our overall stress levels.”
Doctors advise older people to stay physically active as much as possible, and is there anything better than running around the young rascals?
Physical and cognitive stimulation are critical in keeping the body healthy, and taking care of those you love the most is a perfect balance between exercising and having the time of your life, surrounded with smiles, hugs, and kisses.
So, if you are a grandparent, don’t hesitate a bit, and offer to babysit right away. I know I can’t wait for my kids to have children.
The relationship between grandparents and grandchildren is significant and pure, and it should be encouraged for the benefit of both.
We often take things life has to offer for granted. How is it that we are only grateful for what we have once we lose it? Many people don’t really understand how lucky they are for simply being healthy, having roof over their head and food on their table.
Life is sometimes cruel and when we hear of stories of people who lost it all, we do realize how fortunate we are and what are the real treasures in life, and that’s the well-being of the people we love.
Dr. Alastair McAlpine knows how to cherish the good things because he often witnesses devastating destinies and sees kids losing the battles with their illnesses. This man decided to share with the rest of the world the wisdom he learns from his terminally ill patients. These children are between four and nine years old and tell us what they believe makes life worth. You may get surprised how much shrewdness is hidden behind their words.
Dr. McAlpine is a palliative care physician in Cape Town, S. Africa, who eases the pain of kids who are dying.
Twitter
When he asked them what truly matters in life and what doesn’t, he hoped many people would hear what his patients had to say, but he didn’t think their words of wisdom would spread among people like a wildfire.
For an assignment, I asked some of my terminal paediatric palliative care patients what they had enjoyed in life, and what gave it meaning. Kids can be so wise, y’know. Here are some of the responses (Thread).
Dr. McAlpine wrapped up his thread with one last important recap:
The way these children perceive life is what we all should live by. They remind us of the importance of the “little things” and how the essence of our existence is to love and be loved.
Please share their wise words with those you love!
Susie Rabaca from Southern California has quite a story to tell. This brave woman learned that she had cancer while she was carrying twins. In order for her life to be saved, as well as that of her unborn babies, she was forced to undergo a bone marrow transplant. Things didn’t seem easy because the first thing that was needed to be done was to find a perfect match donor. Luckily, some good news were on the way not long after the devastating diagnosis.
The mom-to-be had issued a personal plea for people willing to register for a match – her own sister was deemed unsuitable with a 50% match.
Susie, who was already a mom of three, was overwhelmed by the number of people who signed up to be potential donors. As she is both Latino and Caucasian, she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to find the perfect match as that proved to be difficult in the past for people of her heritage.
Incredibly and to the surprise of many, just a couple of days after Susie’s plea went viral, at least 40,000 people had registered as potential donors on the ‘Be The Match’ registry. Julie Kornike, who was the founder of ‘Be The Match’, stated: “Only 3 percent of our registry is mixed ethnicity, and so it can really difficult to find a matching donor. The fact that we have identified a potential match for her is really exciting.”
Susie will be undergoing a transplant before giving birth. “For me to find one and for it to be 10 out of 10 at that, is amazing. Nothing better in the world right now. Whoever you are out there – thank you so much. You’re saving my life. You’re an angel, and I hope one day to meet you.” Susie remarked with tears in her eyes.
Gynecologist appointments aren’t always that comfortable and it does take a little bit of extra effort in order to look more ‘presentable’. This woman, however, went a step further without even realizing it, so it turned into one of the weirdest doctor’s visits ever. We doubt she will ever visit him again.
I was due for an appointment with the gynecologist later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctors office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45am.
The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn’t have any time to spare. As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasnt going to be able to make the full effort.
So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pajamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in that area to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.
I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I’m sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away.
I was a little surprised when the doctor said, My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven’t we? I didn’t respond.
After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal… Some shopping, cleaning, and cooking. After school when my 6 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, Mommy, wheres my washcloth?
I told her to get another one from the cupboard.
She replied, No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it.
Young kids can be hilarious. They are quite honest and always speak their mind, and very often say words they are not really allowed to, which makes them even more interesting and lovable.
One mother shared a video of her lovely son doing the grocery list and he somehow became one of the loveliest children we’ve ever seen on the Internet. His mother assigned him a very serious task and he simply makes sure he won’t miss any of the items they need to pick up from the store by carefully repeating them one by one.
Facebook/Chrystal Logsdon
It’s obvious he is pretty excited to be accompanying his mommy that he quickly grabs a pen and a pad of paper and starts listing the items.
However, what makes Chrystal’s youngest son so unique is his sweet Southern accent. Each word is filled to the brim with a down-home country twang!
The video mommy uploaded on her Facebook page vent viral and has been seen by more than eleven million people, all of which are stunned by the way he pronounces the words.
Facebook/Chrystal Logsdon
Although everyone agrees how he does it in the most adorable way possible, many wonder how can a boy that young have such a strong Southern accent.
According to scientists, that’s not an unusual phenomenon because accent starts developing at kids as young as six months.
The Smithsonian publication explains this, stating:
“As early as 6 months, [a baby] begins to differentiate one bit of verbal input from another, mentally reviewing and silently rehearsing for the moment when the vocal cords are ready to deliver. And when the words do tumble out, they will be reproduced with the distinctive, localized twang or lilt overheard in Mommy’s and Daddy’s (or Mama’s and Papa’s) own funny speech.
Accents, in whatever language, stubbornly hang in there for years, decades, a lifetime, without being easily rubbed out.”
So whenever a baby hears a word, it is stored into their brain along with the sound or the way it is pronounced. Children can have a bit of accent even when they say their first ever words.
This vocal imprinting is definitely what happened with Chrystal’s adorable little one. It looks as if he and his parents are pretty proud of the way he speaks.

Winter is our favorite season because of all the joy the snow brings. However, if you are driving around during heavy snowfall and harsh winter weather, you may unfortunately end up stuck on the road or even involved in an accident. That is why it would be for the best to avoid being on the road when the weather conditions are not favorable. One traffic reporter decided to warn his viewers of the possible consequences of driving in bad weather in the most unique way.
YouTube
Bob Herzog is a reporter who wants to make sure his fellow Cincinnati residents stay safe and sound. He is well known among them for his great personality and unusual way of presenting the news. Everyone is so fond of him that people started calling him “The Traffic Man.” This time he chose to pass a warning by singing a parody of the Frozen’s song “Let it Go,” hilariously turning it into “Just Don’t go.” The end result is simply hysterical.
YouTube
He starts by singing the following lyrics:
“The snow blows right on the roads over night, not a lane strike to be seen. A town with no transportation – and the info comes from me. Highways are crawling like some slow ants in a line. They won’t all stay in, heaven knows I try…. They can’t stay in, so they must see. Be the traffic man you have to be. The wheels they squeal, spinning the snow. And now they know… Just don’t go!”
Bob really knows how to entertain his viewers which makes him their favorite presenter.

Having more than one child to take care of might be challenging. Now imagine having three babies that are the same age under one roof. That is definitely a house filled with fun, laughter, and games. We are sure the parents of the most adorable and most competitive triplets from the video below are never bored around their lovely children.
Not only they make mommy and daddy laugh, but the whole nation as well. The video of their epic race has been seen over 20 million times and people never get tired of watching it over and over again.

Mommy places their bottles of milk on the floor, and she is patiently waiting for them to start crawling towards their meal.
Although they may not be that interested in having the milk, each of them is eager to make it to the finish line before their siblings.
The adorable babies turned their feeding time into an epic game that took the hearts of everyone who witnessed their competition. They are way too young to set the rules of what is acceptable and what’s not, but they still understand what the game is all about and it’s beyond adorable.

Vanessa knows this will make her triplets more interested in their meal knowing they’ve “earned it” themselves. We are so happy she could put this unusual race on tape.

Brandon, Christian and Aiden are real athletes with vibrant personalities whose speed will leave you speechless.

Watch the ultimate game of “who gets to the bottle first” which will put a smile on your face. Pay attention to the music in the background as well. Vanessa really is one cool and creative mother.
Having a kid is a blessing from God. Nothing compares to those adorable smiles that you get every day, along with the laughter and the joy these lovely creatures bring into the home. However, taking care of them requires lots of money. Buying baby clothes and shoes they quickly outgrow, baby wipes, and diapers can be very expensive. And although we only want the best for our little ones, we sometimes can’t afford to buy everything at once.

What’s most, making sure they are safe is another thing we spend a bunch of money on. Babies and toddlers are curious and want to explore their surroundings. They learn by touching in the first year of their life so they make sure they put their little fingers on every item they set their eyes on. That includes the outlets which can be quite dangerous for kids to play with. The openings of the outlets are a perfect size for the little fingers to fit, which makes them interesting and entertaining, so parents have to make sure to cover them properly.
oksun70 via Deposit Photos
A mother named Brittany Kurtz found just the perfect way of how to keep her kids away from the appealing outlets by using something she already has a lot of, and that’s empty boxes of diapers and tissues. If you are creative enough you can make lots of interesting DIY projects using the containers and the cardboard paper instead of recycling it.
Kurtz shows us one way of using them in her video she recently posted on her Facebook page. She says:
“Remove the adhesive top from the baby wipes package, then place over outlets. I certainly still will keep my baby safe outlet covers in, but this is just another precaution for on top. Out of site, out of mind.”
Many mothers think this idea is brilliant, while others say that toddlers are way too smart for this hack, and they will know they can easily open the lid and get to the outlet.
What are your thoughts on this? Would you give it a try?
If you have another idea of how the wipe containers or diaper boxes can be used please share it with us in the comments section below.

Has it ever happened to you to be forced to cancel your doctor’s appointment in the last minute? I guess most of you will answer with a yes. This is not that uncommon because we live in a world where everyone has a tight schedule trying to fit all the things that should be taken care of in only 24 hours. So things such as family and other emergencies come up and we are left with the cancellation fee we have to pay for not making it to the appointment.
Flickr
Paying this fee is frustrating for many, and although we are well aware that it’s there because doctors believe it will reduce the number of cancellations and sometimes because of the preparations the doctors make ahead of the appointment, we still don’t really want to give our money away.
A Reddit user found the ultimate way of skipping this fee and now people are praising him for this brilliant idea.
It all started when Redditor Sh0tgunLlama asked this simple but brilliant question:
BoredPanda
User Stellapotamus shared his story of cancelling a doctor’s appointment in the last minute without paying a single cent. This is how it goes:
“I went to cancel a doctor’s appointment and they said it was a $200 charge without a week’s notice. I asked how much it was to reschedule and she said it was free.
‘Okay, so I need to reschedule for two weeks out.’
‘Is three weeks okay?”
‘Yep.’
‘Alright, you’re all set for three weeks from now. Is there anything else I can do for you?’
‘Yes, I need to cancel my appointment.’
‘We need a week’s notice.’
‘My appointment is three weeks away.’
‘Oh. Okay. Sure.’
‘Thank you.’
Couldn’t believe it worked.”
Everyone was so thrilled by this that the post quickly went viral with over 21K upvotes.
Fellow Redditors praised Stellapotamus saying things like:

And even higher praise:

Do you think this way of skipping the fee is genius or sneaky? Have you ever done anything similar to get yourself off the hook?
The “issue” of whether or not it is appropriate or acceptable to breastfeed your baby in public sparks debate whenever it’s brought up.
Knowing how expensive formula feeding can be, many mothers opt breastfeeding over bottle feeding. What’s most, it is scientifically proven that mother’s milk is the healthiest choice because it contains high level and perfect balance of nutrients, it’s easily digested and absorbed, the baby itself determines the amount it consumes, contains Immunoglobulins which provides passive immunity for baby. Actually, the benefits are endless.
We should all understand the simple fact that when the baby is hungry, it doesn’t know and doesn’t care whether the mom is outside or at home. They only want their food, and that’s it. I guess the real shame here are not the moms who choose to breastfeed their babies in public, but the fact that there aren’t enough accommodations for them to be able to do so.
Despite all this, there are still people out there who are outraged by the scene of a mother and her baby bonding through breastfeeding and ask them to cover themselves while doing so.
This was the case with a Kentucky mother Sadie Durbin who was having dinner at the Texas Roadhouse with her husband and her 7-month-old baby. She explains what happened, saying:
“She got hungry, so she needed to nurse. I latched her on like I always do, and she was nursing for maybe five minutes when I saw the manager coming around the corner, walking fast and shaking his head at me with a napkin in his hands.”
Sadie Durbin
The manager, who is a father of six children, told Sadie how many of his customers complained about her breastfeeding her baby without a cover, so he dared to approach this mother and put a napkin on the baby’s face. Sadie refused to cover her baby with that napkin so the manager just put it on the table and left angrily.
Sadie says how despite using a cover, she breastfed her baby very discretely, without offending anyone.
“There were two giant peanut buckets in front of me, she was wrapped up in a blanket and I had her in a cross-cradle position, as discrete as I can be. I find it really difficult, pretty much impossible, to cover. I have to hold my breast, I have to hold the [nipple] shield, and I have to hold her head perfectly in order to nurse her. She unlatches as soon as I try to put a cover over her.”
Mike Mozart
Sadie could notice one woman talking to the manager, so she asked the waitress whether she was the one who found her breastfeeding offensive, but instead of an answer, the manager came and once again asked her to cover up. Sadie refused and she and her husband left the place.
She decided to share the incident on her Facebook page, not assuming it will gather so much attention. And while many people supported her for what she did, others posted negative comments, and even threats.
Durbin has decided to sue Texas Roadhouse because she says,
“There’s a law, but there’s no penalty attached to the law.”
She does this mainly for the other moms out there who can find themselves in similar situations. She says,
“I think that if I can avoid one mom feeling like I felt in that situation, then yes, I am happy I spoke out.”
Do you think the manager’s reaction was justified, or you support Sadie’s decision?

For years, and for many generations of parents, spanking was the right thing to do in order to have disciplined and well behaved children. Even nowadays, many believe how this type of corporal punishment helps them teach their kids manners and use it even up to several times a month. Many parents settle on this discipline method simply because that’s how they were raised and somehow feel they should follow in their parents’ footsteps.
But, it turns out spanking is wrong on so many levels and does more damage than good, putting the kids at higher risk of inappropriate and violent behavior later in life.
According to the renowned researchers from the University of Texas at Austin and University of Michigan, the belief that spanking results with negative psychological effect on a child has been confirmed. This effect doesn’t fade away even years after it has been administered. The sad reality is that many moms and dads out there believe this to be effective and never think of the consequences it leaves on their kids.
Recently, an in depth study on this issue has been done and the results of the findings were published in the Journal of Family Psychology. The case study included approximately 160,000 children over a 50-year span. The authors of the study, Elizabeth Gershoff and Andrew Grogan Kaylor presented the outcome which said that now, as adults, the group of people that were spanked when they were young were more likely to exhibit anti-social behavior and suffer from health problems.
Actually, they believe that this form of disciplinary tactic has similar consequences as those at children who were victims of abuse.
“We as a society think of spanking and physical abuse as distinct behaviors. Yet our research shows that spanking is linked with the same negative child outcomes as abuse, just to a slightly lesser degree.”
Joan Durrant, a professor in the department of community health sciences at the University of Manitoba who has studied the effects of spanking for 30 years argues that “Children who are spanked are at greater risk of bullying others and using aggression as a way of solving problems and conflicts.” Parents are unaware that even if that helps teach their kids to behave for a short period of time, it will create in them aggression that lasts a lifetime.
According to another study of 2016 published in Zero to Three, in which parents who use this type of punishment were involved, 30% of them said how they feel bad for spanking their kids, and 77% believe it’s not an effective method of discipline.
This raises the question of why do people still do it when everything and everyone reasonable suggests it’s not the right thing to do.
Many parents would argue how they still do it because it helps them deal with their children without considering other types of punishment that are effective in a long term, such as taking away the kid’s privileges, rewarding their good behavior, have long talks, and allow for natural consequences.

Whether you are for or against spanking your children, you may hear parents say, “well, my parents spanked me and I turned out just fine, so why wouldn’t I use this as a method of discipline?”
One of the most vocal spanking advocates around is Christian-based Focus on the Family, an organization which was originally founded by psychologist James Dobson back in the seventies.
In an opinion piece written for Time in 2014, Focus on the Family’s director of counseling Dr. Jared Pingleton, explains that
“spanking [. . .] can be one effective option among several in a parent’s tool chest as they seek to steer their children away from negative behaviors.”
He says it should be done at the right time, however.
“Generally speaking, we advise parents that corporal discipline should only be applied in cases of willful disobedience or defiance of authority—never for mere childish irresponsibility.”
Dr. Diana Baumrind from the University of California, a psychologist who has made a career researching authoritative disciplining methods, says that spanking doesn’t have long-term effects.
According to the New York Times, in a 2001 talk given at the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association, Baumrind stated that
“When parents are loving and firm and communicate well with the child, the children are exceptionally competent and well adjusted, whether or not their parents spanked them as preschoolers.”
Now that we caught your attention with this article, you may even want to do further research before you continue spanking your kids when they do something bad, as breaking things, or screaming in public.
Have you ever used this “old-fashioned” method of teaching your children a lesson? Or you believe in the power of “the talk?”
Below are the staggering results of the poll created by Tip Hero asking parents whether they support or oppose spanking.
TipHero
Over half of those who answered said they are for spanking the kids. Are you surprised by the results?
Please share with us your opinion regarding the subject. We would be happy to hear your thoughts.

Good neighbors can make great friends that we can rely on whenever our family is not around. In many cases they are the ones who help us overcome certain difficulties and obstacles. They are closest to us, so whenever there is an emergency, they are the first to contact.
In the case of a lovely elderly woman whom the neighbors call “My Lady,” those living next door went a step further and helped her get a second chance for a better life.
Lucy Ashen from Fulham, England, who happens to be My Lady’s neighbor is really fond of everyone living around. She always makes sure to greet the passersby and wish them a great day. But, Lucy could never assume My Lady was hiding a secret from the rest of the neighbors until that day.
Facebook/Lucy Ashen
The 76-year old woman was experiencing mental health issues for years, but no one knew how severe her condition was because what was going on behind closed doors was a mystery.
What Lucy witnessed once she entered her neighbor’s one bedroom apartment saddened her to the core. The conditions were so awful that she couldn’t believe her eyes. Lucy could never imagine anyone living in such a place.
Flickr/J B
It happened that My Lady locked herself out of her flat and couldn’t get in, and that’s when she asked Lucy to get inside through the open window.
The flat was extremely filthy. It smelled really bad and it appeared that My Lady hadn’t have a bath in thirteen years. Her physical and mental state prevented her from keeping her home and herself clean, and that was the most heartbreaking thing ever.
“There was no food, filthy clothes, nobody to help her bathe and just never-ending loneliness and despair. What I saw when she finally let me in will stay with me forever! It was horrific! NOBODY should live like that!”
Facebook/My Lady and Me
Lucy knew she had to intervene and make things right. She was determined to help her neighbor spend the rest of her days away from the dirt and the clutter. Without hesitating a bit, she started cleaning, sorting, and disinfecting.
But, the thing was that most of the appliances weren’t functioning properly, so My Lady was in need of new household supplies, furniture, and even clothes.
In order for her to be able to get back into her flat as soon as possible, Lucy asked help from other people as well. She posted a plea on her Facebook page and she received messages from strangers offering to buy new items.
Facebook/Lucy Ashen
Almost all of the things needed for the place to become a home were gathered in less than 24 hours. Lucy was happy knowing there are so many companies, charities, health professionals, and others who were willing to step in.
“…with the kindness and generosity of the people who donated items, I have been able to turn her house into a home. She has everything she could need, a bed to sleep in (she was sleeping on the floor) good clean furniture, fresh new bedding, beautiful new clothes, three meals a day, and most importantly, company. She truly has been saved from a lonely and degrading life, she has been given her dignity back and I intend for her to live out the rest of her life in comfort and surrounded by love.”
Facebook/My Lady and Me
Thanks to Lucy and the people’s interest in the well-being of My Lady, she could have a normal life. Lucy even created a Facebook page where she was posting about My Lady’s journey and progress.
This whole experience provided My Lady with a completely new life. She understood the value of having someone who can take care of you. Now that she received a completely renovated place to live and the much needed bath, she resembles a happy person that was once hidden under the filth.
She can now spend her days in the company of her neighbors and her TV that she didn’t use in years only because it was set to a foreign language and the poor lady didn’t know how to fix it.
Facebook/My Lady and Me
My Lady has loved chatting with the strangers who have filtered in and out of her flat to help, as well as the conversations she’s had with Lucy while she cleans the home.
“We have laughed, sung and danced around the front room! She had her first car ride in years. The sun was out, the windows were down, the music was blaring and she was singing along! She loved it!”
Facebook/My Lady and Me
It is amazing how little it takes for a life to be saved. What Lucy had to offer was endless support, kindness, and devotion. This should serve as an example for the rest of us that we should never let anyone around us struggle.
Has it ever happened to you to just sit right there in the corner of your living room, looking at all those things covering the sofa and the floors such as bunch of toys the kids didn’t pick up, or all the clothes placed on the chairs instead in the wardrobe, thinking how messy you place is? It does happen to many people, and according to science, being surrounded by clutter can be a major cause of anxiety.
Whereas there are people out there who can function just perfectly in a cluttered environment, most of us find it pretty much upsetting.
Scientists also argue that the state of your place is related to the state of your mind, when your surrounding is clean it reflects your thoughts and you are more calm.
One mother who has brought up this question on a forum where mothers share their daily life experiences couldn’t believe how many other women share the same feeling, saying how clutter makes them nervous, anxious and causes depression.
Psychologist Sherrie Bourg Carter wrote in an article for Psychology Today:
“Clutter can play a significant role in how we feel about our homes, our workplaces, and ourselves. Messy homes and workspaces leave us feeling anxious, helpless, and overwhelmed. Yet, rarely is clutter recognized as a significant source of stress in our lives.”
Source: How Does She
There are 8 major reasons why Carter believes this:
Clutter overwhelms us because it causes excessive stimuli so our senses go into overdrive
It distracts us from other things we’d like to focus on
It makes it harder to mentally and physically relax
It signals to our minds that our work is never done
It also causes anxiety because we have to think about how we are going to clean everything up
It can impede productivity and creativity
It makes it harder for us to find what we need and takes up space for doing other necessary things on our list
Source: MyLifeSuckers
However, it is interesting to mention that this doesn’t affect men the same way it affects women. The reason for this is that when women are surrounded be clutter the level of the hormone called cortisol increases, triggering stress, which is not the case with men.
Sometimes, not being able to keep your place clean may also cause the feeling of guilt. We consider ourselves incapable to deal with our choirs and it makes us frustrated and decreases our self-esteem.
According to Carter, these things can be eliminated if we follow some useful tips and tricks he suggests.
Source: Spouses Cleaning Houses
Here are some of those tips:
Get your family involved in cleaning. If you’re on your own, start in one space at a time before you move on to another so that you don’t get overwhelmed and can feel accomplished as you progress.
Create a specific space for your items so you’re more likely to keep the item in its designated space. It’s best to keep items in closed spaces so you don’t have to look at it.
Throw away things that you don’t use or that you don’t need. If you haven’t opened it or used it in a year, toss it!
Clean up your mess after you make it. It will give you a nice sense of closure and will be clean when you return to it.
Sisters Macey, Mackenzie, and Madeline were given up for adoption right after they were born. Their parents couldn’t take care of them because they were drug abusers struggling with the addiction.
The girls were welcomed by the Garrisons who already had three children of their own, all of which boys, Tyler, 20; Matt, 17; and Luke, 16. Darla and Jeff who had fostered many children so far knew they had to step in and provide the baby girls with the life they deserved.
The family was perfectly aware that Macey and Mackenzie would need additional dedication, love, and support because they were born as conjoined twins.
“We had no idea what to expect – but they only needed someone who loved them. We got Madeline when she was four days old and Macey and Mackenzie came to us after four weeks,” Darla told Closer.
They always dreamed of having daughters so the girls fit in perfectly.

“We’d fallen in love with them. Our boys were so happy to have three sisters,” Darla told Closer.
Jeff and Darla’s life goal was to make sure the girls undergo the much needed surgery, so in 2003, they were successfully separated at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Two years after, the whole family moved to a farm in Indianola, Iowa. Macey and Mackenzie now use prosthetic in place of the leg they once shared. The girls are getting used to walking and they have a normal life, doing everything other kids do.

When they come across certain obstacles doing the everyday choirs they can always ask their sister Madeline to give them a helping hand.
“When they encounter something they can’t do,” Darla told People, “they don’t dwell on it too long.”
They have never ever considered quitting, but are determined to move on and achieve great things in life.
“The girls have succeeded through hard work and the commitment by their family. Their progression is wonderful and inspiring,” says Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Pediatric Surgeon James Stein, who performed the multi-staged separation in 2003.

Now, at the age of 16, the girls are full of life and ready to respond to any challenge or obstacle that comes along their way. They know they are loved and cared for by their parents, their brothers, and their sister. We hope they will have a bright future ahead.
Life is full of surprises, and whether they are pleasant or not, we can’t prevent them from happening and leaving us stunned.
Robert and Nia Tolbert tied the knot back in 2014 after ten years into dating. The couple had a three-year-old son, Shai, and Nia was pregnant with twins on the day of their wedding.
They were both thrilled by the fact of having a large family, because that was something they both dreamed of ever since the moment they met. Soon after, the happy parents welcomed babies Riley and Alexander into the world.
However, two years after the birth of the twins, the Tolberts were caught by surprise with the news they received.
Facebook/Nia Tolbert
Nia was expecting another baby. Although she was excited by the news, she was also a bit scared, because that would mean having to take care of four children, and we all know that’s not an easy thing to do.
When the time for the first ultrasound came, the nurse asked Nia whether there were multiples in the family, and that’s when this mother-to-be figured out she was caring more than one baby.
Nia left the exam room to use the bathroom, and what she heard when she returned was:
“There’s three. Baby A. Baby B. Baby C.”
This was huge, three babies were on the way. Nia could never in her wildest dreams imagine she could be having so many kids. But she couldn’t hide her excitement.

This was a real miracle, because conceiving naturally with triplets is not that common, especially if the mother have given birth to a set of twins before. However, Nia’s multiples were due to a condition called hyper-ovulation, in which more than one egg ovulates at the same time.
Now the only thing she needed to do was to break the news to Robert.
Facebook/Nia Tolbert
He was totally flabbergasted, but as happy and as excited as his wife. He said:
“Oh I passed out. I hit the bed. I blinked twice, when I woke up I saw that some time had elapsed on the clock.”
It was going to be fun with so many kids in the house. Now Nia and Robert couldn’t wait to learn the babies’ gender. With three boys, they were secretly hoping at least one of the babies would be a girl, but it turned out they were going to have three daughters. The couple was over the moon.
Robert noted:
“The house is officially balanced now, because the three boys they flock to their mother. They want to defend her. They don’t give her a second to breathe or do anything on her own. Now I have my own little posse. They will follow me, and protect me, and take care of me.”

Ellen DeGeneres really knows how to make our days. She is one of the best hosts whose show is really one-of-a-kind, featuring top notch celebrities and ordinary people with incredible talents or unusual stories.
But it looks as though from all the people she hosted, little Kai is her favorite. She never misses a chance to invite him over to the show. His singing talent is what makes Ellen, and the rest of us, so fond of this boy who’s climbing his way up the ladder of success.
When Kai first appeared on Ellen’s show he treated the audience performing Katy Perry’s “Roar.”
YouTube
The way he sings, the gestures he makes, and that adorable smile on his face make it impossible not to love him. He simply enjoys at what he does best.
This time he sings a song of one of his own favorite musicians, Ed Sheeran. He chose the Grammy Award winning song “Thinking Out Loud.”
YouTube
Kai is so adorable that he even has a handmade gift for Ellen with handwritten messages of how beautiful she is and how much he loves her, which wins him a kiss from our favorite host. They talk for a while and then the moment we are all eagerly waiting is here. Kai starts singing, and we all get to enjoy.
He closes his eyes and bursts out into song. The audience follows along with a loud applause.
YouTube
As the performance is coming to an end, Ed Sheeran himself stands behind the little prodigy who has no idea what is going on because he is already deep into his singing.
YouTube
Ellen can’t wait to see Kai’s reaction once he realizes who is standing next to him, and she goes all smiles. Ed does pretty much the same thing, and is flattered little Kai chooses to sing one of his songs.
Kai finally discovering Ed has been there all the time is precious. This is definitely a must see.

Grandparents are simply awesome. They take care of their grandchildren’s well-being the same way the parents do, but unlike mommies and daddies, they let the kids do whatever they want, they buy them a bunch of presents, and spoil them rotten. That’s why they are the favorite people in the life of the little ones.
Spending time with the grandkids is believed to be very beneficial for the elderly because it reduces the chances of suffering from dementia or the Alzheimer.

An unusual sight of what might be the coolest grandpa ever and his lovely granddaughters was posted on YouTube and it stole the hearts of everyone who got to see the amazing dancing skills they possess.
The three are outside in the park, walking and enjoying the day, when they suddenly break out in dance and gather the attention of the passersby who can’t hide their excitement.
The whole thing is very fun and cute at the same time, because the grandpa is an excellent dancer. No matter his age, he shows some frisky dance moves that leave everyone is awe.
The young girls, all dressed up in cute red dresses, follow along and are in perfect sync with grandpa.

Dancing might be the best way of having fun and be healthy, and this man knows that best. He looks pretty young and is in top shape.
According to the European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine:
“Dancing may help people with Parkinson’s disease, which is characterized by rigid muscles, slowed movement, and impaired balance. Dancing may also be good for your mood. It has been shown to reduce depression, anxiety, and stress and boost self-esteem, body image, coping ability, and overall sense of well-being, with the benefits lasting over time. In one study, it even helped control ‘emotional eating’ in obese women who eat as a response to stress.”

This is perfect for bonding with your grandchildren. It’s really some quality time these three spend together. It took quite some time practicing this breathtaking dance routine, that’s for sure, because they do it flawlessly, without any mistake.
Watching them from aside makes it look as though dancing is a piece of cake, they do it with such an ease.
The grandpa can stay active and make sure his granddaughters are having the time of their life.
Another study published in Arts in Psychotherapy concluded:
“Dancing should be encouraged as part of treatment for people with depression and anxiety. Though other forms of exercise can have many of the same benefits, dancing is more appealing to some people, so they are more likely to stick with it.”

If Grandpa continues to dance with his girls like this, he will likely have a healthy life ahead of him.
Those who watched the video say this is the best shuffle they’ve seen recently, and one person even asks if the grandpa would like to adopt him. That’s how strong of impression he makes.

We hope this won’t be the last time we see from this adorable family. They definitely know how to enjoy. The girls must be so lucky to have a grandpa like this, who won’t let them be bored at any time.
The beauty of life is that whenever we feel down and lose faith in humanity along the way, someone crosses our path and restores it, teaching us that things aren’t as bad as they look.
Kim is a mother of an autistic daughter who is a very special girl with a heart of gold. However, in today’s world, people don’t really care how nice someone is, as long as they are different, they don’t fit the standards of our society, which is really devastating, but sadly, that’s how many people react.
This mother knows that best. She was over the moon with her daughter’s 11th birthday party, eager for Amy to have the time of her life. But, that day turned out to be one of the worst days they’ve experienced. None of the schoolmates she invited showed up. Amy was sitting there all by herself, with no friends around.
That was the last time this mother threw a birthday party for her daughter.
YouTube
When the time came for Amy to turn 13, Kim called a bakery to order a birthday cake. When Elizabeth Scott from Savage’s Bakery asked about the venue of the party, Kim told her how there wasn’t going to be any, and then explained why they stopped throwing parties and inviting people. Elizabeth simply couldn’t believe how a girl that young wouldn’t have a party, so she decided to take things into her hands.
YouTube
She went beyond decorating a cake with a bunch of flowers Amy was crazy about, and wanted this girl to experience the joy of opening gifts, dancing, and singing.
She told AL.com.
“This spoke to my heart. I told her we would invite a bunch of folks and make it extra special.”
Elizabeth posted an invitation for Amy’s birthday party on the bakery’s Facebook page and envisioned a handful of people popping by. She reached out KultureCity, an organization that helps public places become more sensory-friendly for autistic people, in hopes they will come up with something special for Amy.
Dr. Julian Maha, founder of KultureCity, has an autistic child herself and understands how these children are often treated by their peers.
“No one ever invites you to their birthday party and no one ever attends a birthday party for you.”
What Julian did was sort of amazing. She brought a brand new sensory activation vehicle to the bakery’s parking lot. There were lots of fun things inside of it that would also serve the purpose of calming down the children with autism.
“The other kids joined her in it, which relieved her anxiety, and then she went in after that and had a really good time at the party.”
Facebook/Savage’s Bakery
The party was a huge success, with a lot of people and kids attending it. Amy received many gifts, among which a colorful stuffed chicken that clucked which she loved the most.
Elizabeth went a step further and took Amy inside her shop explaining how her cake was decorated. She made sure Amy gets her flowers and the best party she could ever ask for.
Elizabeth told AL.com:
“We made it a special day for her. Amy was all smiles, all day long.”
Kim was beyond grateful for what Elizabeth did for Amy. She was just a complete stranger who wouldn’t let a young girl spend her special day without guests to celebrate together with her.
Julian on the other hand said how it was important for people to understand that autistic children are no different than the rest of the kids. They want to have fun as much as everyone else, and people like Elizabeth who are aware of this are those who make the change in these kids’ life.
“People like Elizabeth, for me, are the reason why we do what we do, because if we can convert someone like Elizabeth who really has no personal connection to disabilities and take that message of inclusion and acceptance to the next level, we’ve done our job.”

One mom reached out online to a parent advice columnist named Carolyn Hax, during a Washington Post live chat. She shared that she has a daughter, whom she frequently brings to a public park. One day while chatting with other mothers (all of them have daughters), another woman showed up at the very same park – with her son. The mom tried to ask both the woman and boy to leave if she would mind leaving as all of them had wanted their gathering to be ‘girls-only’.
However, the boy’s mother did not take it well – she got angry at her. For the woman, it was important for mothers to spend time with their daughters without any males around. Gender was the main issue of conflict in this situation – how would Hax respond?
The mom who voiced her concern expressed: “We live in a world where boys get everything and girls are left with the crumbs – and I would think this mom would realize that but she seems to think her son is entitled to crash this girls-only time.”
Hax advised that shooing off the mother and her son was a terrible thing to do as it would hurt their feelings, regardless of gender. Girls are not always left with the crumbs, according to Hax’s response. She continued: “The adult you shooed off is a mom, possessor of the same crumbs you’ve been fed, no? So don’t you think she would have just liked to hang with some fellow moms in the park while she was out with her child?”
True enough. Hax was right – a public park is for all to enjoy themselves. Instead, Hax’s suggestion was that the mother could have held her ‘girls-only’ gathering at a private location instead of a public place – if she had wanted some privacy. Do you agree with Hax?
In Mesa, Arizona, one police officer named Kent Green protects and serves the local community very seriously. One day while out running, he had spotted a worn out homeless man rummaging through the trash, and worried about his safety. As it would turn out, the man had been looking through a dumpster for aluminium cans and glass bottles to sell. Once Green asked the man to step away from the dumpster, he noticed that this man’s very much worn out shoes. Green headed back over to his car and pulled out one pair of his own old running shoes, and gave it to him. It was a pair of extra sneakers he had while out running.
Green had no idea that someone else nearby had been documenting his act of kindness all along- it was one of the complex’s residents named Jenny Crider. She took some photos of the scene along with a caption on social media – the post ended up going viral after the Mesa Police Department shared it on their own page.
The post read: “This man comes by our complex a few times a week collecting cans to earn money from recycling them. When I went to grab our mail, a police officer drove up and got out to talk to him. I honestly thought he was going to ask him to leave and stop going through the trash. When I came back home from getting the mail, the officer had brought out a nice, new pair of shoes to give to the man. It’s the simple, Christlike acts like this that give me hope in this world. Thank you Mesa Police for having such wonderful officers patrol the area!”
Green woke up the next day, and was surprised with the overwhelming positive responses online. Green explains that his simple act of kindness is actually typical among his fellow officers, who tend to reach out to the local community in different ways. “It’s been overwhelmingly positive, humbling, and just awesome,” he remarked.
To be part of the U.S Marine Corps is a privilege. These people know the meaning of sacrifice and loyalty like no other, and we show our deepest respect for their service.
One man shared a story of the meeting he had with a retired Marine whom he met for the first time but felt the need to approach and say hi and thank you.
What he got in response left him overwhelmed.
You can read his story below.
“Semper Fi, we respect your generation,” the man said to the veteran out of respect. The veteran’s response to the friendly man came out of nowhere.
Read the Facebook post below.

I saw a man with a Marine Raider pin, Purple Heart, and other pins on his hat at Starbucks this morning. I walked up and said “Semper Fi, we respect your generation.” He told me “Semper Fi, 1st Raider Battalion, Alpha company, Okinawa.” If anyone knows anything about history, they know these men are made from the salt of the Earth.
He began telling me stories of when he got hit. He said he would load specific magazines with tracers because it would light the Japanese buildings on fire. He lit 3 buildings on fire, in a guun fight, and told me “those sons of bi***es didn’t like that. They retaliated with a rocket. It ki**ed my squad leader and the A[ssistant]-gunner loading the belt. All I got was a chunk out of my hip. The Corpsman ran over and started working on me. Then they shelled our position so hard, it ki**ed almost everyone. I don’t remember what happened over the next week of my life. I woke up in a hospital, and a doctor was sucking fluid out of my chest with a syringe. I guess I got hit in the chest with a machine guun. I lost a lung.” He started laughing and said “How does a man live to be 90 with just one lung? Hahaha.”
He then talked about recovery at a hospital in Guam. Two-hundred Japanese paratroopers were dropped and were kii**ng friendlies around the area. He was given 2 choices. Stay and take his chances, or run and hide. He said he took out all the needles attached to his body out, put tape over his wounds, and hid for 24 days. After he was rescued, on a flight back to the US, another Marine handed him a Lucky Strike cigarette. He went to light it, and the doctor saw him. The doctor told him “what the hell is wrong with you? You only have one lung.” They then injected him with so much mor**hine, he passed out and woke in an American hospital.
He eventually recovered and tried to re-enlist, but he was medically retired. I helped him stand up and walked him to his vehicle, which is a golf cart on ster**ids. As he got in his vehicle, I shook his hand one last time and told him he was the saltiest Marine I have ever met in my life. He said “all my friends are saltier than I am. I’ve lived an amazing life, and I don’t have any regrets. I wouldn’t change a thing, it was the time of my life.” He then told me, I hope I see you around again young man, so we can bul***hit.
This man made my year. This is a living piece of history, and he told the stories raw. I listened to him talk for an hour and a half, even though I had so much to do today. He made it a point to tell me about the bravest man he had ever known, that deserved to be remembered. He spoke of the Raider community doing great things. The last thing he said to me was “Semper Fi, Raiders never die.”
The sad reality of today is that technology got so involved into our daily lives that we almost forgot how to communicate in person, or how to make real friends. We live in the decade of smartphones that captivate all of our attention. It seems like everything turns around the social networking sites and our existence is marked by our profiles and all those posts and photos we upload on a daily basis.
Teenagers in particular are overly obsessed with technology and some recent studies state how they spend around 74 hours a month on apps, but it seems the number is much higher. Other studies state that as our brain grows dependent on technology, our intellect weakens a great deal.
You have probably noticed how the family gatherings are not as fun as they used to be. Joking and talking have been substituted with messaging and typing and that’s something we can’t really change no matter how hard we try.
One father got fed up by his sons using their phones all the time, including dinner time, so he decided to bring to their attention how disrespectful that is in the most hilarious way possible.
YouTube
If you take a look at the people at the cafes and the restaurants you’ll notice how they barely speak to each other, because they are way too busy staring on their phone screens. Eating together only matters if the food is attractive enough to be posted on Instagram. Nobody cares if it’s tasty or not as long as it gathers likes from your followers.
The same thing happened at this dad’s place, by he decided he won’t put up with his sons’ behavior any longer.
YouTube
A study completed by Virginia Tech and reported in Washington Post said using your phone during social situations like dinnertime can lead to missing a significant amount of human contact.
The study said:
“Even without active use, the presence of mobile technologies has the potential to divert individuals from face-to-face exchanges, thereby undermining the character and depth of these connections. Individuals are more likely to miss subtle cues, facial expressions, and changes in the tone of their conversation partner’s voice, and have less eye contact.”
Trying to avoid all this, this dad did something that will teach his sons a lesson. As soon as he brought to the table his communication device his wife bursted in laughter and the boys understood their dad’s point an put their phones away.
YouTube
This is definitely a must watch! Please share it with friends if it made you laugh.
