NCIS star Cote de Pablo reveals her true feelings about Mark Harmon and says he’s father figure

One of the characters which added to the NCIS popularity is definitely the smart and but-kicking detective Ziva David portrayed by beautiful Cote de Pablo.

Cote was born María José de Pablo Fernández on November 12, 1979, in Santiago, Chile. When she was 10, her family settled down in Miami Florida. Moving places wasn’t easy for Cote who needed to learn a new language and make new friends. It was during her school years that she decided to be called Cote, mainly because her classmates had a hard time pronouncing her birth name right.

Over time, she found her place under the American sky.

“But I was raised here. And I found my niche because I went to a performing arts high school. I had always been interested in the arts, but performing became even more important because it was a way to communicate with people in my new country,” she told Prevention. “It wasn’t till I got to the United States that I learned to speak English.

“Those were defining years for me. I always describe myself as sort of a hippie. Deep inside, I’m not a glamorous person,” the actress added. “I come from a traditional, conservative world. But this kind of hippie world at school allowed me to explore the creativity and imagination that live inside all of us.”

Once in America, Cote’s mother started working for Telemundo, a Spanish-speaking television channel, and Cote inherited the love for arts from her.

At the age of 15, Cote co-hosted episodes of the Latin-American talk show Control with former Entertainment Tonight host Carlos Ponce. She attended Carnegie Mellon University where she studied music and theatre.

After appearing in commercials and a number of television series, including ones in All My Children and Fling, Cote was cast to portray Ziva David on NCIS from 2005 to 2013. She later made short comebacks, but didn’t return as a regular in the show.

Speaking of her character, Cote said that she and Ziva had a lot in common. “My character’s strength is like mine, to a completely different degree. Losing family members because of a war,” Cote told Prevention. “I have moments when I just have to hold my heart. But I also have to remember that if I played the character from my point of view, she’d be falling apart all the time. She has to keep it together–it’s the world she grew up in.”

Over the course of the years she was on NCIS, Cote formed strong bonds with most of her co-stars, but that with Mark Harmon seemed to be the strongest of all. They have been close since the moment they met and Cote speaks of Harmon with admiration.

“[Mark Harmon] is more of a friend mentor. He was always like a father figure to me. Obviously, Ziva and Gibbs have that, but Cote and Mark have that as well,” she told BUILD.

“He’s a very busy, famous man. Obviously, there are many months where you just don’t talk, but it’s really nice to know that sometimes when you have friendships but certainly in the family – that’s a given- you can go time without talking, but you’ve laid a foundation. A foundation that is solid.

“From that foundation, you can really go anywhere. You can go years without talking,” Cote added. “Really heavy-duty things can happen, and then all the sudden you’re back, and you can pick up right where you left off.”

Asked why she left the show which defined her life and career, Cote said during an occasion that she made such a decision out of respect for her character.

Leaving NCIS was huge for Cote, but she moved on to other significant projects. Among the rest, she landed roles in The 33, Prototype, and Seneca.

Cote, who is 42, hasn’t been married. She, however, knows what she’s looking for in the person she would spend her life with.

“One of the things I love is just being able to have a conversation with somebody, being able to be vulnerable and to feel somebody else’s vulnerability,” she told Cheat Sheet in 2010. “And more so than that, to find the fun and the laughter. If you can laugh with a person, everything’s fine.”

“Eventually, I think it will happen… Things have been slow to come. I think happily they will come when the time is right,” Cote told Rachel Ray in 2013.

Although she’s not part of NCIS any more, Cote remains one of the most popular characters.

Everyone was moved to tears when this horse came to say goodbye to her dying owner

Sheila Marsh has spent her entire life working at the Park Racecourse. Ever since she was 20 years old, she dedicated all her life to the horses she took care of. Her family knew those magnificent creatures were her great love in life and were proud of the attention and care Sheila gave to the horses over the years.

Unfortunately, Sheila was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 77. On her deathbed, besides her children and loved ones, she asked to see her horses for one last time, especially one mare named Brownen. Sheila was Brownen’s caretaker for almost 20 years and they shared a special bond.

Aware of her mother’s health condition and the little time she had, Sheila’s daughter, Tina, pleaded the staff at the Wigan clinic to let her say one final goodbye to her horses. They were willing to satisfy Sheila’s dying wish and brought her gurney to the parking area where her beloved horses were eagerly waiting for her.

When the time came for Brownen to meet her friend of many years, she buried her nose in her cheek as though she was trying to kiss her. Sheila felt joy and gathered strength to whisper Brownen’s name.

“Mom had a hard time talking on her last day, but she clearly called Brownen by name and kissed her,” Tina said.

The photo of Sheila and Brownen kissing was a touching one. It showed that love is the most powerful force on Earth.

“I cried, and every one of the medical attendants also cried. She received consolation, it was such a delightful second! She had a very unique relationship with Brownen. She took care of her for 18 or 19 years, since Brownen was 7. It was touching for us all, because it was very vital.”

Witnessing such strong connection between a human and an animal is beyond wonderful.

Sheila couldn’t leave this world without bidding farewell. She had given her horses love, and she received that love back.

Mixed-race couple recalled the time a priest refused to marry them: ‘We were very upset about that’

It was during the World War II when a young woman named Trudy Menard managed to find a job at the Rootes aircraft factory in Speke, Britain. Little did she know, however, that her life would change forever.

Once she started her job, she was told she would be the assistant of a young engineer named Barclay Patoir who traveled all the way from British Guiana, now known as Guyana, to the United Kingdom to help with the shortage of people working at the factory. “There was a shortage of engineer skills in Britain in World War Two so young men from the Caribbean volunteered to help the mother country,” he later explained.

Trudy was hesitant about working alongside Barclay. Why, you may wonder. Because she was white and he was black. What’s most, Trudy had never seen or been into contact with a black person before, so she was even afraid to get near him.

YouTube/ BBC News

At the beginning, the two barely exchanged a single word, but as time passed by, they grew fond of each other. One day, while there was a break in the production, he invited her on a date and she was more than happy to accept the much-anticipated invitation.

The two took a train to Southport. On the way, they could notice people starring at them with judgment in their look, but neither Trudy nor Barclay cared about what others thought of their relationship.

The times were different back in the day and although Liverpool had one of the first established Black settlements, racism was everywhere.

“I didn’t tell my mother when I was going to see Barclay,” Trudy recalled. “She thought I was going in to town to meet the girls. She had noticed I was very happy but she didn’t know why. When she did find out she threatened to throw me out the house.”

YouTube/ BBC News

Despite many were against their relationship, in 1944, the two decided to get married. Sadly, an interracial marriage was something people couldn’t accept, not even the priest they went to and asked to marry them.

“He said, ‘There’s so many colored men coming over here and going back home leaving the women with children. So I’m not marrying you.’ We were upset about that,” Trudy recalled.

Instead of a church marriage, Trudy and Barclay organized a small ceremony at the Liverpool Register Office. There were only two people in attendance, except for the newlyweds; Trudy’s sister and one of Barclay’s friends.

They settled in Manchester and welcomed two daughters. Over the course of the years, this couple watched things change when it came to interracial couples and they were glad marrying someone from a different race wasn’t that of a big issue any longer.

“Before people would stop and watch you, or whisper and laugh as you passed and now they’re not bothered,” Barclay said.

“People don’t walk on the other side of the street like they used to,” Trudy commented.

This loving couple stayed together for 76 years before they both passed away in May 2020, within hours of each other.

Barclay was 100, and Trudy was 99.

Despite everything they were forced to go through in their youth, these two led quite a life together.

Married transgender woman spends $80,000 on surgery – won’t stop until she reaches perfection

Not everyone is perfect. In fact, most people would likely change something about the way they look had they been given a chance. However, most of us learn to love our flaws over time, but there also those who would stop at nothing to reach perfection.

Fulvia Pellegrino was born a male, but she always knew she didn’t fit in her body. As she felt ashamed to admit she was feeling like a woman, she was forced to hide through a great part of her life.

In order to fulfill her parents expectations, Fulvia, who was born Fulvio, married wife Marisa some 32 years ago. During the day, she was a happily married and devoted husband, but during the night, she would visit gay clubs and would put on dresses and makeup at the garages of the clubs so that no one could recognize her.

Eventually, she couldn’t hide her true self any longer. Her cars, her guns, the football nights, and everything else she was forced to do in order to present herself as the perfect guy are now long forgotten.

“It is difficult to grow up with a body which is not yours. You try to mask it in every way playing football, drinking beers, buying American 4x4s and go shooting to feel like a man,” she shared with Mirror. “Instead you understand it is a mask and so you need to throw it away and become what you are.”

The first person Fulvia told about her dream of becoming a woman was her wife. Although it came as a shock at first, Marisa has been very supportive.

Over the years, now 62-year-old Fulvia has spend around $80,000 on surgeries and hormone treatments. She had 150 lip and cheekbone fillers, four breast implants, and two rounds of liposuction, among the rest. Her butt lift surgery alone cost $22,000.

Despite everything she’s gone through, Fulvia is still not satisfied with her looks. “I am not happy with my ‘perfect’ body, because it is not perfect. Perfection is something else.”

Fulvia Pellegrino / Facebook

Speaking of her relationship with her wife Marisa, with whom she is still together, Fulvia says: “Today Marisa and I are nothing more than two sisters. We live together, we argue like two normal people but not like husband and wife.”

While her two brothers supported her decision to transition, Fulvia’s parents could never accept that their son was now a woman. Her father even tried to force Marisa to sign documents and send Fulvia to a psychiatric institution, but that didn’t happen. When Fulvia’s father passed away, she was forbidden to attend his funeral.

Fulvia Pellegrino / Facebook

Most of her family and friends want nothing to do with her.

The people from the place where she lives, the Italian town of Peveragno, mock her and make fun of her appearance. “I am now the clown of Peveragno. They point at me, they talk about me, they start inventing stories about me that I am a prostitute,” Fulvia told Barcroft in 2016. “My friends have all vanished — they didn’t accept me.”

Despite all that, this woman is happy to have Marisa’s support and she continues changing her body more and more.

“Plastic surgery is not a drug but it’s something that people like me need. I am not happy with my face and other parts of my body,” she says and adds:“I won’t stop here; I want to go ahead because it’s not perfect. If I reach perfection maybe I will stop.”

For more on Fulvia’s life story and her appearance before all the surgeries go to the video below.

As long as her way of life makes her happy and doesn’t affect her health, Fulvia can have as much procedures as she wishes. At the end of the day, everyone deserves to be happy with themselves.

Couple who struggled to get pregnant for 13 years welcome a baby boy

Infertility is an issue more and more couples face. The struggle to have a baby is real for these people and it affects both their physical and mental state.

Carissa Morris, 33, and her husband Dave, 32, were trying for a baby for 13 years, but they failed each time. As time passed by, they became more and more concerned that their dream of becoming parents was slipping through their fingers.

Over the years, Carissa suffered eight miscarriages. She couldn’t keep her babies past six weeks and doctors finally told her that one of her tubes was blocked and as a result the fluids were getting back to her uterus. Once her tube was removed, they learned that Dave was experiencing issues, too. It turned out that his job, which required from him to work at a place with too much heat, affected his fertility. Finally, they decided to consult a doctor and undergo an IVF. They only had one embryo and all of their hopes were on the procedure.

Carissa Morris / CATERS NEWS

To their surprise and delight, the first attempt was a huge success and Carissa was pregnant again. This time, she managed to go with her pregnancy almost until the end and gave birth to a baby boy just a few days before Christmas. They could never ask for a better present.

Baby Oliver weighted 6lb 7oz, but doctors soon realized he was experiencing health issues which meant he needed to spend Christmas at the NICU.

“He was three weeks early and was born blue, his oxygen dropped to 20% for nine minutes and he immediately intubated,” Carissa explained. Luckily, doctors managed to stabilize him and shortly after they had the NETS group, which is the Neonatal Emergency Transport Service, come in and place him in their Neonatal Ambulance.

Some 30 hours later, the proud parents could hold their baby for the first time. “It was fantastic to be able to hold Oliver for the first time; he definitely has everyone wrapped around his finger,” she continued.

Oliver needed to be fed through a tube for some time because he had an obstruction in his stomach, but the scans revealed it was something that could be fixed without a surgery.

Alfonso Ribeiro: This is what Carlton Banks from Fresh Prince is up to these days

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is a Hollywood classic and one of those series that have re-runs even years after they were first released.

This particular series stole the hearts of millions of fans, and one of the actors who helped make it what it is today is Alfonso Ribeiro, who played the role of Carlton Banks, the preppy and politically conservative cousin and friend of Will Smith.

Ribeiro was born on September 21, 1971, in New York. His family was from Trinidad and Tobago, and many of them were involved in showbiz, so it didn’t come as a surprise when Ribeiro chose to pursue a career in film. His grandfather, Albert Ribeiro, was a singer under the name “Lord Hummingbird,” and his aunt danced on the ’60s sketch comedy show Laugh-In.

Youtube/Giraldi Media

“As a kid, my dad was my manager, and he always said to me, ‘Here’s what we’re going to do: The more eggs you have in the basket, the more opportunities you have for one of them to hatch when you need them to hatch,’” Ribeiro recalled in an interview with The Ringer.

“‘And so we’re just going to learn to do everything. We’re going to learn how to dance, we’re going to learn how to sing, we’re going to learn how to act, we’re going to learn how to entertain, we’re going to learn how to talk, we’re going to learn how to read. We’re going to be well-rounded in the business.’”

Ribeiro became part of the showbiz at the age of nine when he landed a role in the series Oye Willie. Later, he was part of the Broadway show The Tap Dance Kid. His dancing was out-of-this world and became his trademark over the years.

In 1984, Ribeiro danced alongside Michael Jackson for one of his Pepsi commercials and that’s when the entire country got interested in him.

“Michael Peters, who ended up directing the commercial for The Tap Dance Kid, was Michael Jackson’s choreographer, and he was like, ‘Oh, we got a kid.’ And Bob Giraldi goes ‘No, no, no, I got a kid’ and comes to find out that it was the same kid and it happened to be me,” Ribeiro recalled.

In 1990, he appeared in an episode of A Different World and was offered to be a series regular. At the same time, he was offered the role of Carlton in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and since both series were NBC productions, he had to choose. Well, the rest is history.

s_bukley / Shutterstock.com

The series was a huge success and Ribeiro turned into a real star. His incredible dancing was so contagious that it got its known name, the “Carlton Dance,” and is until this very day very popular.

In an interview with TMZ in 2012, Ribeiro confessed he created the dance moves inspired by Courtney Cox’s dancing in the Bruce Springsteen music video “Dancing In the Dark” and Eddie Murphy’s dance in the stand-up film Delirious.

“On the Fresh Prince, they basically had a script that said, you know, Carlton dances, and I said, ‘Alright, well how would Carlton dance? You know what, I’m stealing it,’” he said. “I stole it from Courtney Cox and Eddie Murphy,’” Ribeiro recalled. “It’s a combo of all of that with a little bit of me mixed in.”

As this role changed his life forever, it also affected his future career. Ribeiro nailed it in the series, but soon, everyone saw him as Carlton and he had a hard time getting a role.

“I had what I love taken away from me because I won. When you do a role like Carlton and people love the role, and you do the job so well that they essentially tell you that you can’t do it anymore because we can’t see you as anything else, it is a very difficult thing to deal with,” Ribeiro told Atlanta Black Star. “It was like, ‘Wait a minute, but I did it well. I did my job. I did what I was asked to do, I made you believe that that’s who I am.’ That’s what an actor is supposed to do. And then I was punished for it. Because then I didn’t get to do what my craft was. I didn’t get to do it anymore.”

Shutterstock/Eugene Powers

He stood for himself and other actors who have been typecast over the course of their careers.

“I’ve always said that the idea that you can do something so well in your life that no one will allow you to do it again, is very difficult to go through,” he told Pop Culture. “Imagine being the greatest home run hitter in the game and never being allowed to go hit home runs because you hit home runs. Doesn’t make sense. But in show business, that sometimes is the case. So having to reinvent myself by turning myself into myself, which is weird.”

After the series which marked his life, Ribeiro hosted America’s Funniest Home Videos and played in the sitcom In The House, among the rest. He also competed in Dancing With the Stars.

Ribeiro is married to wife Angela Unkrich with whom he has three children. He also has a daughter, Sienna, from his first marriage.

Although he’s been criticized for being in an interracial marriage, Ribeiro says his family is the most important thing for him.

“I try to do everything in my power to make sure that my family’s with me on all of these journeys that I have to go on. I feel it’s incredibly important,” he said. “We prioritize family. We prioritize each other.”

His eldest daughter, Sienna, graduated from high school in 2021, and the proud father wrote on Instagram: “My baby girl Sienna just Graduated from High School. I’m so proud. She’s gonna go do big things in her life. She’s smart, beautiful, motivated, funny, passionate and makes everyone around her happier.”

Alfonso Ribeiro has had a successful career and has a beautiful family. What else is there to wish for? He truly is a happy man.

Worried officer enters home when girl who waves him every day is suddenly gone

Some kids are lucky and don’t even know it, in a stable good home with loving parents, unfortunately, that’s not the case here. Klynn Scales grew up in a house surrounded by drugs, neglect, and violence!

Just down the road from their house there was a shop, the 7-Eleven, from where she and her brothers stole food when there was nothing to eat.

There was a particular Police Officer that would pass by their house each day, and Klynn would wave to him, every day, she was nine after all!

Klynn said, “He was the one adult I could trust as a kid”

She didn’t know the Officer’s name, but he had said once that he was there for them if they needed it and that he would protect both of them.

Klynn used that memory to help her through things from day to day, the good and especially the bad! She said, “Those words would come to me during the worst times of my childhood life.”

The police officer was true to his word, he really meant what he said. One day he passed the house and very unusually he didn’t see Klynn waiting there to wave to him. Then, his gut told him that something was not right straight away! He went straight to the house to investigate his instinctive feeling and found her there at the house. She had collapsed and wasn’t able to breathe properly.

He picked her up and took her straight to the hospital, where she was treated for malnutrition.

She later wrote on Facebook: “You saved my life, literally.”

What she remembers about that day is very blurry, but she recalls seeing a halo of light around the officer as he stood over her that day.

She said, “Jeff Colvin is not just a hero to me, but my guardian angel also. He was there when I had no one”

The two are friends but lost contact when Klynn moved to Texas, from Kansas City, Missouri. A full 20 years later Klynn wrote about her story, a woman with the Kansas City Police Dept saw her story and searched for the Officer…

Decades Later Sgt. Jeff Colvin got an email, it seemed very mysterious, about a little girl.

He was really taken back with shock, he said, “Most times we go through our career without realizing if we truly helped anybody out.”

Colvin remembered Klynn and her family and they got to reunite with each other.

Klynn said, “I just never thought this would ever happen, to find my hero …I am so happy that I was able to thank you in person and I hope one day I can become someone’s hero, or make a positive impact like you did mine.”

Prince Charles has huge regrets about “Megxit,” royal author claims

From the moment actress and later Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle, became part of the British Royalty, all eyes were on her. Tabloids followed her every move and in attempts to protect his wife from the pressure by the magazines and the public, Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties as senior royals in January of last year.

Shutterstock

When they issued the bombshell decision through their former Instagram account Sussex Royal, the British and basically the whole world was shocked by what they latter referred to as the “Megxit.”

Rumors were that Harry’s grandmother, The Queen, wasn’t happy with the couple for not speaking to her prior to sharing their decision with the public and called a crisis meeting. However, not much changed and Harry and Meghan now live in L.A with their son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, and their newborn baby Lilibet “Lili” Diana in a big house close to the elements of nature.

“Archie is really happy, and he has some space to run free. The house came with a play structure that he’ll be climbing in no time,” an insider told Harpers Bazaar. “They’re excited to be there and to become part of the community. It’s a really happy time for them as a family.”

Wikipedia Commons / Mark Jones

During those hard times for the Royal family, it was reported that Prince Charles, Harry’s father, regretted his son and his daughter-in-law’s decision.

According to royal author Nigel Cawthorne, Prince Charles was charmed by Meghan the moment he met her. “He saw that the marriage of the Sussexes brought Harry great happiness and that it created at the same time a new story for the monarchy that resonated deeply both in Britain but also in the Commonwealth and other English-speaking countries if not the world,” the author of Prince Andrew, Epstein and the Palace wrote.

“I think [Prince Charles] likes strong women, but in The Firm, there is only room for one Queen,” Cawthorne told The Sun. “I think he foresaw considerable problems ahead for The Firm. Harry and Meghan amplified the popularity of the royal family in the way that Prince Andrew and Fergie did at the time.”

Shutterstock

Prince Charles offered moral support but couldn’t do much to persuade them to stay. He “personally regrets the fact he will not see his son and family.”

However, despite stepping down from the Royal duties and leaving Britain, Prince Charles and the Duke of Sussex were very close. Well, until all the mess the Sussexes created with their public appearances during which they practically slammed the Royal Family and made everyone angry, especially Prince Charles who was sad his son dragged the family name through the mud.

Shutterstock

“I’ve probably bored you to tears over the years. What I’ve tried to do all these years is to make sure, if I can possibly, is that ensure that you and your children, my grandchildren, also everybody else’s grandchildren, have a world fit to live in, that provides them with opportunity,” Charles said when he spoke to Harry in BBC Radio 4’s Today.

Shutterstock

In April, Harry and Meghan announced their plans for launching a charitable organization, Archewell. “To do something of meaning, to do something that matters. Archewell is a name that combines an ancient word for strength and action, and another that evokes the deep resources we each must draw upon. We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement.

We hope the pandemic would be over soon and Prince Charles will be able to enjoy the company of his son’s family whom he misses dearly and with whom he seems to be in a bit of better terms after the birth of little Lilibet.

Suspected tornado damages veteran’s home at the same time he took his wife off life support

The severe weather that swept through the southern parts of the country claimed the lives of at least two people and left many injured. Properties were torn down and families were left without a roof over their head.

One of the people who lost their houses when the tornado struck is a veteran named Frank Senn. His property in Elmore County, Alabama, was damaged, but that wasn’t the biggest loss he suffered that day. Unfortunately, Frank experienced an incredible heartbreak as he was forced to say the final goodbye to his beloved wife of 40 years, Glenda.

Around the time the tornado hit, Frank was at the hospital where he made the toughest decision in his life, to take Glenda off life support.

A few days before his entire life turned upside down, Glenda fell down the stairs and broke her neck. She was rushed to the hospital where doctors did all in their power to safe her life, but there was nothing that could be done.

“The doctor came in today and said there was nothing else they could do and took her off of life support,” heartbroken Frank shared with WSFA. “They are going to put her in a room until she passes away,” he told Fox 19. “They are going to keep her comfortable.”

During his time of grief, Frank has the support of his family, his neighbors, and the entire community, who gathered together to clear up his property. “The love and outpouring of support that’s come out to help my father and our ranch farm has been amazing,” Jon Senn, Frank’s son, said.

We are so very sad for this man’s loss. Our hearts go out to him during this difficult times.

Player’s opponent knows his mom is battling cancer – joins him in prayer after the game

Being there for someone during their toughest of times is the ultimate act of humanity.

Ty Jordan and Gage Smith are two football players who are part of opposing teams. While Ty plays for the West Mesquite High School, Gage is part of Sherman High School. Recently, they played against each other, and as much as they saw each other as rivals on the field, outside of it, it’s a completely different story.

Recently, Ty’s mother was diagnosed with two types of cancer, a lung cancer and a bone cancer. The diagnosis was a devastating one. Ty had a hard time accepting the reality but managed to vent his emotions through the game of football, something he loves.

Source: Takka_Jordan/Twitter

Ty told his teammates about his mom’s condition and they all have been very supportive. He also shared the news on the social media where he asked from his friends and family to send prayers.

As Gage and Ty knew each other from middle school, Gage stumbled upon Ty’s post and wanted to do something for him in order to remind him that he was there for him.

As the game was over, Gage approached Ty and shook his hand. Then, he told him he wanted to pray for his mom with him. The two then knelt down holding their hands and said a prayer.

Source: Takka_Jordan/Twitter

Everyone who witnessed Gage’s gesture was touched. Among them was Ty’s aunt Takka who took photos of the rivals praying together and shared them on Twitter. Little did she know, however, that her post would attract the attention of a huge number of people who praised Gage for his kind act.

Source: Takka_Jordan/Twitter

Gage’s coach, JD Martinez was proud of his quarterback and was glad he didn’t let the rivalry on the field be an obstacle for showing what humanity should be all about. He said he tells his team that although football is a competitive sport, they should always treat those from the other teams with respect.

We truly hope Ty’s mother would win the battle against cancer.

Sweet 6-year-old girl meets baby sister for the very first time and is overwhelmed with joy

Adalynn is a six-year-old girl whose biggest wish was to be a big sister. There wasn’t a day that she wouldn’t ask from her parents to give her a sibling. She wanted that so badly that she even asked one as a Christmas present.

Her mom and dad explained to her that babies aren’t simply bought at a store but it takes time for them to arrive.

One day, Adalynn finally heard the news she was longing for. She was going to have a sibling. She was over the moon, to say the least, and the only thing that interrupted her happiness was the fact that she still needed to wait 9 months.

Source: Dale Benson/Facebook

During the pregnancy, Adalynn made mom Erin and dad Dale buy a bunch of clothes and baby stuff for the bundle of joy. More great news came after an ultrasound which revealed the baby’s gender. It was going to be a girl, just like Adalynn hoped for.

The family even organized a gender reveal party just for Adalynn, who couldn’t stop her tears of joy when she learned she was going to have a baby sister.

Everything was ready for the big arrival and everyone was aware of Adalynn’s high levels of anticipation, but no one knew that the sisters’ first encounter would melt thousands of hearts from all around the country and beyond.

On the day Erin went into labor, sweet Adalynn got up and saw her grandma in the house, and her mom and dad were nowhere to be seen. That’s when she realized her sister was finally coming into her life.

The first encounter was magical, and we are so happy dad Dale caught it on tape. The moment Adalynn laid eyes on the little one, her first words were “I’m gonna cry!” as she clasped her hands to her chest. The amount of love Adalynn felt was so overwhelming that she did start to cry tears of joy. She couldn’t stop starring at her sister Madeline, or Maddy, as her family calls her.

One thing is certain, Maddy would be the happiest girl in the world to have a big sister as loving and as caring as Adalynn.

The story of a five-year-old boy with Down syndrome who wondered off while his mom was asleep is just another proof that dogs are man’s best friend.

As little Jose decided to leave his home, the family dog, Alejandro, decided to follow him in order to make sure nothing bad would happen to him.

When the two friends were spotted walking down the rails, they were already over a mile away from home. The Houston Police Department rushed towards where Jose and Alejandro were reported to be seen.

Twitter/@OfficerSalas

“Witnesses told me the dog was with the little boy when they found him. As I walked away with the boy, the dog followed,” Sgt. Salas wrote on Twitter. “This dog was his protector and his angel.”

“It seems like that the dog knew something was up, he knew that the child wasn’t supposed to be wandering off and he ended up following him,” he told the Houston Chronicle. “He was very protective and would not take his eyes off the child.”

Twitter/@OfficerSalas

When Sgt. Salas took Jose to his car, Alejandro jumped in as well. “The dog was following basically everywhere I went. It wasn’t barking, it wasn’t intimidated,” he said.

Shortly after they were found, the police alerted Jose’s mother that her son was safe and sound. She explained that she and Jose took a nap, but when she woke up, he was nowhere to be seen. She added that she was happy the dog didn’t leave her son alone.

Twitter/@OfficerSalas

“Alejandro has always been a very overprotective dog since we got him, we got him when he was a baby. I was not surprised when they said he was walking with him the whole entire time,” Jose’s sister, Samantha Muñoz, told Click 2 Houston.

We are very happy this story turned out to be a happy one. For more go to the video below.

Parents of five adopt seven siblings who lost their mom and dad in a car crash

Those people who open the doors to their hearts and their homes for children in need are the greatest of all.

Pam and Gary are an incredible couple who have been registered as foster parents and have taken care for many children during the years. They have five children on their own, but that never stopped them from welcoming more kids in their life and providing them with love and security.

However, now that their biological kids are all grown up, Pam and Gary did something truly amazing. They adopted seven siblings who were left orphans recently.

The story of the children, Adelino, the oldest of the seven, Azaura, 11, Aleecia and Antonio, 6, Aubrey, 4, Angel, 3, and Alexander, 2, is heartbreaking. They, along with their parents, were involved in a car accident in which their mom and dad lost their lives.

After that life-changing incident, the siblings were taken to a foster family but were in search for a forever family. Finding someone who would be willing to give permanent home to all seven of them seemed like a mission impossible, although it was everything those kids ever wanted.

Azaura told CBS8 News in 2018, “I’m happy that all of us are together and that we’re all alive,” adding, “I want a family that’s fun, joyful, and who takes you out places.”

Little did she know at the time that her wish would soon turn into reality all thanks to the Willis family.

Adoption Day Part One! . As promised, I have so much to share about everything that we’ve been celebrating over here! 🎉 . Adoption day was one week ago today and although it was nothing like any of us had envisioned from the beginning, we made it happen and we made it special! 💜 . Covid shut downs hit San Diego the week of our original court hearing in March. We got a call just 3 days before court that they were closing down and postponing all hearings until further notice. Man, was that a hard day! 😪 . We still celebrated that weekend because it was the one year anniversary of the day we’d met,🥰 but inside, we all just wanted it to be official. Waiting amidst the Covid outbreak craziness was pretty challenging. 😷 . We didn’t know if we were going to have to do a video hearing, if the courts would open up again, how long we’d have to wait…. so many uncertainties. I don’t like uncertainties. 😵 . In June the courts called and asked if I wanted to schedule a video hearing. I just wasn’t ready to give up my vision of the day in court that I felt these kiddos deserved. So I said “no”. I asked them to call back when the courts were opening… somehow thinking that was gonna happen soon 🤷🏼‍♀️ . My youngest bio child is 19. He was getting ready to leave for missionary work that had already been postponed. His departure date was August 11th, so open courts or not, that became our deadline. . No courts opened. Covid didn’t disappear like I told it to. So I started planning…. and crying… and planning… and trying to be creative… and crying some more (ok, that’s about my breakdown, we’ll talk about that another day 🙈) . It was SO important to me to make this day special, and SO important to me that all 12 of my children be together for the occasion. 🙏 . Do you know how hard it is to get 5 adult children – two from out of state, all of whom have lives and jobs and stuff, one of which JUST had a baby 4 weeks ago – all in the same place for pictures on adoption day? . Hard. 🤯 . But we did it!! And even though we didn’t get to go inside, we still took pictures outside of the courthouse because that’s where we were SUPPOSED to be 💜

Speaking of their decision to adopt the children, Pam said how she simply knew those kids belonged in their family the moment they came across their story on Facebook.

“I saw how much these kids needed someone to love them because they had no one else to go to. I called the adoption service every week to show them how much I wanted to help these children,” Pam told Metro News.

“From the moment we first met them it was instant love. I looked at Gary and we both could see they are really great kids and knew we were doing the right thing.”

Our quarantine circle ❤ These are the faces I’ve spent every day with for the last 51 days straight. All day. All night. Rarely a trip out for my husband or I because, let’s be 100% real… ain’t no way I wanna take care of 7 sick children all at once if Covid hits our house 🙈 . I don’t know how all of this will end. I don’t have the magic answers. I’m just trying to stay healthy and keep my kids safe. 🤗 . We’re still waiting on our day in court to fully finalize the adoption. The boys desperately need haircuts…we’re still waiting for the day we can chill at the beach or visit my grandbabies, or go to Rosssssss….. cause I NEED Ross to spend my tax return $ 🙃🤷🏼‍♀️ . But we’ll wait. We have each other, and we’re pretty entertaining, so I feel kinda blessed for that. 💙 . We’re testing positive for faith, social distancing from doubt, and isolating from fear. Trusting God to guide us through. 🙏 . . . . #fostercarejourney #fostertoadopt #fostermom #gettooattached #secondchanceseven #adoptionjourney #adoptionrocks #raisingseven #weareadopting #adoptionislove #fostermomlife #traumarecovery #childhoodtrauma #fosteryourheartout #liveintentionally #wearethevillage #covid #quarantine #bigfam #bigfamilylife #bigfamilymom

The siblings are very satisfied with their new life. They have a great relationship with Willis’ biological children and all of them make one huge and happy family.

Pam and Gary even have 8 great children, so when the whole family gathers together it is definitely crowded, but they all love being by each other’s side and sharing precious moments together.

“I have noticed how incredibly happy they are and that makes me so happy too, because that’s all we ask for. The oldest of the seven, Adelino, said to me recently ‘thank you for giving us this life’ and there is no other feeling like that. The kids are great kids and we love having them around,” said Pam.

I have this thing about nutrition… 🍩 . Whenever I have taken foster children into my home, I’ve felt an immense pressure to give them the best possible foods during the time they are with me. I’ve always looked at it as possibly their only opportunity in life to get good solid nutrition and brain/body growth. 🥦🍅🍗🍓🍒🍎🥑🥩🥬 . I’ve watched, even my new seven, go from pale skin and thin stringy hair, to nice, rosy cheeks, thick full hair and, healthy body physiques.❤ . I’m a nutrition nazi of sorts, but when you take a kiddo through the bank drive through and they ask if they’re getting fries… or when FedEx comes and gives you a package and the child yells “pizza!”… it just makes you feel like you’ve gotta feed them well! 🍕🍔🍫🍭🧁🍪🍿 . Why the donuts today then? 🍩 Cause I have to loosen up now. I’ve got these guys forever! They eat mounds of broccoli, carrots and spinach now (well, all except for the teenagers who choke a few bites down here and there to oblige me) 🙃 . These five littles are the best fruit and veggie eaters I’ve ever had ❤ So sometimes, I just gotta give ’em a fat, gooey donut and let ’em enjoy! 🍩 . Balance…. . Donuts and balance! 🍩🙃❤🤷🏼‍♀️ . . . . #fostercarejourney #fostertoadopt #gettooattached #secondchanceseven #adoptionjourney #adoptionrocks #raisingseven #adoptionislove #fostermomlife #fosteryourheartout #liveintentionally #wearethevillage #bigfamily #bigfamilylove #bigfam #nutrition #healthyfoods #donuts #donut

First time mom gives birth to daughter after 40 hours struggle

Nicole and Matthew Seismer couldn’t wait for their bundle of joy to be born. They prepared everything for the big arrival, but what happened on the delivery day left everyone stunned.

The couple prayed and hoped for their baby to be born healthy, and that is exactly what happened. When baby girl Blakely was welcomed into the world, the new mom and dad were overjoyed. However, Nicole knew something was wrong as she kept experiencing contractions and felt like she was still in labor. Doctors told her it was sort of normal to feel that way, but soon, they realized there was more to the pain she was feeling.

Facebook

As they were getting ready to take out the placenta, the doctors decided to do an ultrasound and that’s when they were all left in a complete shock. There was another baby getting ready to be born.

Nicole visited the doctor only once during her pregnancy and was hoping to give birth at home, but as her water broke at 36 weeks, she was forced to go to the hospital after spending 40 hours at home without painkillers. During that single ultrasound she had while pregnant, doctors saw one baby only. The other one, Cade, who was born 59 minutes after his sister, was probably “hiding,” so Nicole had no idea she was carrying twins.

Facebook

“We thought the biggest surprise would be the sex of the baby, but we were wrong. It was terrible when they said there was something else in me.

“When [the doctor] said we were having another baby, I literally asked him if he was lying,” the mom said. “I couldn’t digest it all because I was in a lot of pain.”

Cade had trouble breathing when he was born so he needed to spend some time at NICU. Luckily, a few days later, he was allowed to be taken home to his family and twin sister.

Facebook

“It was funny,” the 31-year-old mom said. “We were happy, but it was really shocking. But now I can’t imagine having an only child. It seems they are destined to be together.”

The happy parents now needed to get another pair of everything they had already bought for the single child they expected.

It truly was a beautiful surprise, don’t you think so? We wish them all a happy and healthy life.

Kim McGuire: The true story of the actress who played Mona “Hatchet-Face” Malnorowski

The life story of lawyer and actress Kim McGuire, best known for her iconic role of Mona “Hatchet-Face” Malnorowski from the musical Cry-Baby, is touching, to say the least.

Born on December 1, 1955, in New Orleans, to a father who was a successful lawyer, Kim showed interested in law as a teenager. She also loved dancing and acting, so she chose to pursue two different careers. She earned a master’s degree in theater and dance from the University of New Orleans, and later, she graduated from Loyola Law School and became a lawyer.

Kim came to prominence with the role of Mona “Hatchet-Face” Malnorowski, a member of the grotesque teenage gang led by Wade “Cry-Baby” Walker portrayed by Johnny Depp.

When casting for the movie, John Walters had a clear image of what he was looking for from the actress that was supposed to portray Mona “Hatchet-Face” Malnorowski because he had wrote a script for a movie titled Hatchet-Face some years before, but the movie was never released. “Hatchet-Face” would have ”the body of Jayne Mansfield and the face of Margaret Hamilton … [and] nobody, but nobody, gives her grief,” according to Walters.

“Wanted: Girl with a good body and an alarming face who is proud of it,” the ad for the role said.

“I had just randomly sent my picture to six casting directors that week. I sent it to [casting director] Paula Herold, who was casting for a film called Reversal of Fortune, which I had no idea what it was about. And I guess I had a reversal of fortune, because they called me in for Cry-Baby,” Kim said in It Came From Baltimore, a special feature on the director’s cut DVD of Cry Baby.

Getty Images

For the movie, Kim’s already distinguished facial features were overly exaggerated and she didn’t resemble herself. “That face that she wears in the movie is certainly make-up; Kim has a very blank face in real life,” Walters later said.

“When people see me after seeing that, they think I look really good,” Kim told The Atlanta Journal in 1991.

Cry Baby became a Hollywood classic. It was so well-accepted that it was turned into a Broadway musical which opened at the Marquis Theater in New York City in 2008. It ran for 68 performances and was nominated at the Tony Awards for the Best Musical, Book, and Score.

After the movie, Kim appeared in other projects, including Acting on Impulse, Serial Mom, and an episode of New York Undercover, which was her last TV appearance.

In 1994, Kim married Gene Piotrowsky. They moved to New York but ended up unemployed after 9/11 so they decided to move to Biloxi, a Mississippi city on the Gulf of Mexico, where they both started working for the Mississippi Repertory Theater Company.

Unfortunately, in 2005, their home and all of their belongings were completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. They barely made it alive as Gene was forced to carry her on his back to a safer place where they faced the hurricane for eight hours before help arrived and evacuated them.

The couple was forced into homelessness. They lived in shelters before they moved to New Orleans in November 2005.

“We wound up having to go into Section 8 housing. A real change. In L.A., both of us were pretty high economically. I was wearing $ 1,200 dresses. From that, to nothing. Living in Beverly Hills, to nothing. It was just a big change of lifestyle. It’s not just material things. It’s losing roots. I have not seen my parents in three years, which is just horrible,” Kim said in 2015.

Kim McGuire / Facebook

Over the course of 10 years, they moved places five times but had a hard time overcoming the trauma the hurricane left in their lives.

“Though they plan and equip themselves for something like this, it’s never enough. We ought to know: We lived in LA during the 1994 earthquake, we were visiting New York on 9/11, and now we lived through this. I told a friend about all of that and he said, ‘Do me a favor and tell me where you’re moving to next…,'” Gene told the San Diego Union Tribune after the disaster.

Kim McGuire / Facebook

Finally, after ten long years, Kim and Gene seemed to settle in Florida where she continued helping vulnerable women and victims of the hurricane. Sadly, in 2016, Kim experienced severe pneumonia and was admitted to the ICU at Physicians Regional Hospital in Naples, Florida. Unfortunately, she didn’t respond to the treatments and died of cardiac arrest. She was 60 years old at the time of her passing.

“The outpouring of love and prayers for Kim from her family, friends and fans has been overwhelming and most comforting. Kim’s parents and sister thank you very much. Kim was a dancer, choreographer, actor, attorney and author and credited her dear father for instilling in her a love of learning,” Kim’s obituary said.

We are so sorry Kim was forced to go through so much during her life. Her incredible acting in Cry Baby left a mark we will never forget.

Child star Shaun Weiss’s remarkable before-and-after photos

Becoming popular at very young age can be either a curse or a blessing. Many child stars miss on their childhood and are unable to cope with their fame, so a lot of them turn to drugs and alcohol and ruin their lives.

Unfortunately, one of those child celebrities who couldn’t find their place under the Hollywood sky and felt defeated and disappointed by the way their career unfolded is Shaun Weiss, the chubby goalie from The Mighty Ducks.

Landing the role of Greg Goldberg seemed like the perfect start to a successful career in the film industry, but things went south for Weiss when he started having problems with law enforcement.

Shaun Weiss was born in 1978 in Detroit. He was part of a number of commercials from early age and landed a role in Pee-wee’s Playhouse. However, he had his big breakthrough with the legendary film The Mighty Ducks. He was also part of Heavyweights in which he played the role of Josh Birnbaum, one of the kids who ended up in a fat camp. Other films and project Weiss was part of, among the rest, was the NBC drama Freaks and Geek.

Unfortunately, Weiss started getting in trouble after he was arrested in 2017 and was sentenced to 150 days in the Los Angeles County Jail. However, he only spent 12 days there before he was released due to overcrowding. Shortly after this incident, Weiss was arrested once again for possession of illegal substances. It was very much obvious that the child star lost control of his life.

The good thing was that he was aware he needed professional help in order to get on track. In a Facebook post, Weiss wrote how he “surrendered to the reality that without immediate treatment my life is in eminant (sic) danger.”

The wide public became aware of the severity of Weiss’ condition after the police released a mugshot of him in 2020 in which he was completely unrecognizable.

He was reported for shattering a car’s window and sitting inside the vehicle.

Many of Weiss’ friends were desperate to help him get a new lease on life and even started a fundraiser in order for him to be able to receive professional help and go to rehab. Luckily, that turned out to be just what Weiss needed so badly.

“Shaun demonstrated perseverance during his recovery complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic. He had to move treatment and transitional programs on several occasions. He underwent dental reconstructive surgery, and had a close family member suffer a serious accident during his treatment,” the Yuba County District Attorney Office said, according to The Sacramento Bee. “Shaun regained employment and has been traveling across the country making guest appearances and signing autographs,” they added.

Recently, Weiss shared before-and-after photos of him which show the progress he made during a year of sobriety. It looks like they show two completely different people.

”A journey of a thousand miles begins with 12 amazing steps,” he wrote and thanked everyone for their support.

”Moving to sober living was nerve-racking as there are a lot of roommates constantly on top of each other. But he’s thriving in his growth and making the best of it,” his friend and advocate, Drew Gallagher, told People in 2020.

His former co-workers, among which Emilio Estevez who played the coach in The Mighty Ducks, say they are proud of Weiss who managed to regain control on his life again. Estevez, who is now part of the series The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, said he and the team behind the project would be happy if anyone from the former cast join them.

We are very happy and proud of Shaun Weiss. We hope he gets back to filming again.

Third grader appreciates his teacher so much he gives her his birthday money as a pay rise

Teaching your child to be considerate is one of the most humble things you can do for them, because at the end of the day, taking care of one another is what makes this world a better place.

Parker Williams loves school so very much. What he loves most about it, is his teacher, Mrs. Chambers. “I think she’s a really kind teacher, and she has her own way of teaching, and she spends time on everybody,” this boy says of her.

As he is well aware that Mrs. Chambers always go the extra mile for her students, Parker felt devastated when he heard on the news that teachers in America are practically underpaid. His little heart was broken, because he knew Mrs. Chambers deserved a lot more.

Source: Darrell R. Williams/Facebook

In order to fix things, Parker did the most amazing thing ever and stole the hearts of thousands of people who learned of his kind deed. Namely, he celebrated his 9th birthday and received a bunch of presents, among which some money. When his parents asked him what he was planning to do with his $15, he didn’t tell them, but he had a plan on how to spend it.

Parker put the money in a tiny bag which he then placed on a handwritten note that said:  “Dear Mrs. Chambers, I don’t think that teachers get paid enough for what they do. So will you accept this gift.”

Source: Darrell R. Williams/Facebook

Needless to say, Mrs. Chambers was deeply touched by this gesture. Of course, she couldn’t possibly accept the money, but she appreciated the deed very much. Instead, she gave Parker his money back along with a note. “Teachers put their all in all the time. We often take work home. Our day doesn’t end when the bell rings. It’s so great that Parker realized that we do a lot extra,” she later said.

When Parker’s parents saw Mrs. Chamber’s note, they couldn’t help by share it online. They said they were very proud of their son for being considerate.

Parker’s mom explained that they always teach him to help others as much as he can and added that whenever he gets money for his birthday or for Christmas, he always gives 10% to charity. How adorable is that?

Vanna White, the host of Wheel of Fortune, announces death of her father in emotional tribute

Vanna White, the long-time host of “Wheel of Fortune,” shared some heartbreaking news with her fans a few days ago. Her father, Herbert White Jr., passed away at the age of 96.

Vanna’s parents got divorced when she was still an infant and she was raised by her mother and her stepfather, Herbert, whom she considered a real father.

The host and model never missed a chance to remind this man how much he meant to her. During an episode of the game show which she’s been hosting since 1982, Pat Sajak mentioned Vanna’s father and asked her how he was doing, to which she replied: “He’s great… I call him every morning to say ‘good morning’ and that I love him,” adding that “He’s special.”

On the day she lost her biggest support in life and her father figure, Vanna wrote:

“It is with great sadness that I tell you my 96-year-old dad passed away peacefully this morning. He lived a full and happy life and will be remembered as one of the kindest and most wonderful human beings of North Myrtle Beach.”

She concludes her post writing, “I love you so much dad. RIP.”

Many fans took their time to share their condolences.  “So sorry, Vanna. I’m sure you will miss him but God has a new angel and I’m sure he will watch guard over you,” one person wrote. “Sending my deepest condolences and prayers for you and your family. May your memories keep him close in your hearts,” another added.

Among those who sent their prayers was Sajak’s daughter who commented: “I am so very sorry for your loss. My whole family is thinking of you.”

On last year’s Father’s Day, Vanna shared a message of her kissing her dad and reminding him once again how much she loved him.

Our hearts go out to Vanna and her family.

The Difference Between Men And Women. Do you agree?

This one is old, but gold, and probably the best story out there that tells the difference between men and women in a hilarious way. We simply love it!

You can read it below.

Let’s say a guy named Fred is attracted to a woman named Martha. He asks her out to a movie; she accepts; they have a pretty good time. A few nights later he asks her out to dinner, and again they enjoy themselves. They continue to see each other regularly, and after a while neither one of them is seeing anybody else.

And then, one evening when they’re driving home, a thought occurs to Martha, and, without really thinking, she says it aloud: “Do you realize that, as of tonight, we’ve been seeing each other for exactly six months?”

And then, there is silence in the car.

To Martha, it seems like a very loud silence. She thinks to herself: I wonder if it bothers him that I said that. Maybe he’s been feeling confined by our relationship; maybe he thinks I’m trying to push him into some kind of obligation that he doesn’t want, or isn’t sure of.

And Fred is thinking: Gosh. Six months.

And Martha is thinking: But, hey, I’m not so sure I want this kind of relationship either. Sometimes I wish I had a little more space, so I’d have time to think about whether I really want us to keep going the way we are, moving steadily towards, I mean, where are we going? Are we just going to keep seeing each other at this level of intimacy? Are we heading toward marriage? Toward children? Toward a lifetime together? Am I ready for that level of commitment? Do I really even know this person?

And Fred is thinking: …so that means it was…let’s see…February when we started going out, which was right after I had the car at the dealer’s, which means…lemme check the odometer…Whoa! I am way overdue for an oil change here.

And Martha is thinking: He’s upset. I can see it on his face. Maybe I’m reading this completely wrong. Maybe he wants more from our relationship, more intimacy, more commitment; maybe he has sensed – even before I sensed it – that I was feeling some reservations. Yes, I bet that’s it. That’s why he’s so reluctant to say anything about his own feelings. He’s afraid of being rejected.

And Fred is thinking: And I’m gonna have them look at the transmission again. I don’t care what those morons say, it’s still not shifting right. And they better not try to blame it on the cold weather this time. What cold weather? It’s 87 degrees out, and this thing is shifting like a garbage truck, and I paid those incompetent thieves $600.

And Martha is thinking: He’s angry. And I don’t blame him. I’d be angry, too. I feel so guilty, putting him through this, but I can’t help the way I feel. I’m just not sure.

And Fred is thinking: They’ll probably say it’s only a 90-day warranty…scumballs.

And Martha is thinking: Maybe I’m just too idealistic, waiting for a knight to come riding up on his white horse, when I’m sitting right next to a perfectly good person, a person I enjoy being with, a person I truly do care about, a person who seems to truly care about me. A person who is in pain because of my self-centered, schoolgirl romantic fantasy.

And Fred is thinking: Warranty? They want a warranty? I’ll give them a warranty. I’ll take their warranty and stick it right up their…

“Fred,” Martha says aloud.

“What?” says Fred, startled.

“Please don’t torture yourself like this,” she says, her eyes beginning to brim with tears. “Maybe I should never have…oh dear, I feel so…”(She breaks down, sobbing.)

“What?” says Fred.

“I’m such a fool,” Martha sobs. “I mean, I know there’s no knight. I really know that. It’s silly. There’s no knight, and there’s no horse.”

“There’s no horse?” says Fred.

“You think I’m a fool, don’t you?” Martha says.

“No!” says Fred, glad to finally know the correct answer.

“It’s just that…it’s that I…I need some time,” Martha says.

(There is a 15-second pause while Fred, thinking as fast as he can, tries to come up with a safe response. Finally he comes up with one that he thinks might work.)

“Yes,” he says. (Martha, deeply moved, touches his hand.)

“Oh, Fred, do you really feel that way?” she says.

“What way?” says Fred.

“That way about time,” says Martha.

“Oh,” says Fred. “Yes.” (Martha turns to face him and gazes deeply into his eyes, causing him to become very nervous about what she might say next, especially if it involves a horse. At last she speaks.)

“Thank you, Fred,” she says.

“Thank you,” says Fred.

Then he takes her home, and she lies on her bed, a conflicted, tortured soul, and weeps until dawn, whereas when Fred gets back to his place, he opens a bag of Doritos, turns on the TV, and immediately becomes deeply involved in a rerun of a college basketball game between two South Dakota junior colleges that he has never heard of. A tiny voice in the far recesses of his mind tells him that something major was going on back there in the car, but he is pretty sure there is no way he would ever understand what, and so he figures it’s better if he doesn’t think about it.

The next day Martha will call her closest friend, or perhaps two of them, and they will talk about this situation for six straight hours. In painstaking detail, they will analyze everything she said and everything he said, going over it time and time again, exploring every word, expression, and gesture for nuances of meaning, considering every possible ramification.

They will continue to discuss this subject, off and on, for weeks, maybe months, never reaching any definite conclusions, but never getting bored with it either.

Meanwhile, Fred, while playing racquetball one day with a mutual friend of his and Martha’s, will pause just before serving, frown, and say: “Norm, did Martha ever own a horse?”

And that’s the difference between men and women.

If you love this, please share it with your friends.

Sara Gilbert discovered she was attracted to the same sex while dating Johnny Galecki – he kept it a secret for years

Roseanne was a huge hit back in the day. For many of the actors, the roles they played on the show represented their big breakthrough.

Sara Gilbert, who is a well known actress, director, and producer, and one of the creators and former co-hosts of The Talk, landed a role in Roseanne when she was just 13. The role of Darlene Conner, the sarcastic middle child, brought her enormous popularity and a number of awards, including two Prime time Emmy Award nominations.

Gilbert’s on-screen partner in Roseanne was actor Johnny Galecki. However, what not many people know is that the two dated in real life, even though that relationship was a brief one.

During an episode of The Talk, Gilbert opened up about her love life and revealed how much Galecki supported her when she was struggling to come to terms with her sexuality.

“I thought he was super cute and had a total crush on him,” she said of Galecki, “and we started dating and he would come over and we would make out and then I would start to get depressed.”

He thought her reaction had something to do with him, but then Gilbert decided to share with him her internal struggles. “I eventually told him I thought it was about my sexuality, and he was super sweet about it,” she added.

Realizing she was sexually attracted to the same sex made Gilbert fearful of her career in Hollywood.

“It was something people could have found out about and Johnny, like, no one knew at the show, for years, and Johnny held the secret the whole time,” she said. “And I just felt so scared if it came out, what could happen. Could I lose my career? Would I ever be able to play a straight role again?”

Her worries slowly faded away because she knew Galecki was there to support her. He always had her back, and that never changed.

When she exposed her relationship with him, he told her: “Of course. I love you, and I think it’s really important and I’m so proud of you. If you want, I will be there, and I will hold your hand.”

Years went by and both Gilbert’s and Galecki’s lives changed a great deal since the time they starred alongside each other in Roseanne. One thing that never changed, however, is their friendship.

Man loses almost 200 pounds so that he can become a police officer, wows everyone with his journey

Self-determination has to be one of the greatest virtues one can possess. Many times, sticking to a plan is way harder than it seems, especially when it comes to managing self-control with food.

However, when we have a clear goal in mind, only sky is the limit. Take Romar Lyle for example. This young man’s story is profoundly inspiring, to say the least.

Ever since he was a young boy, Lyle dreamed of becoming a cop one day. When he shared this dream of his with his family and friends, they weren’t thrilled, not because they didn’t trust in his abilities, but because they though that someone as big as him didn’t fit that job. They didn’t say anything, but it was very obvious what they were thinking.

Lyle, who weighted 400 pounds, decide to study investigative forensics. He was an excellent student, but he knew his weight stood on his way of achieving his goal of becoming part of the law enforcement. He convinced himself that he would lose weight while at college, but the stress of studying only made things worse and he gained more weight instead.

Lyle graduated with strong qualifications for becoming a cop, but because of his weight, no police force would take him on.

It was at this point that he decided enough is enough. Although it wasn’t easy at first, this determined young man turned to a healthier lifestyle and hit the gym under a local CrossFit program.

Months passed by and Lyle was getting closer and closer to the body he wanted. In a year, he lost staggering 130 pounds. His appearance changed drastically and some of his family and friends who hadn’t seen him in a while couldn’t even recognize him.

Over time, Lyle’s weight shrank to the point where he could start his training to become a police officer at the Richmond Police Department.

Overall, he lost 176 pounds, and he was aware that if he could lose that much weight, he could do anything he put his mind to.

Finally, in 2017, Lyle landed his dream job. He put on the uniform and everything felt right. “It was one of the most challenging things I have ever had to do. But it has taught me so many life skills and valuable lessons that I will carry for the rest of my life,” he told CNN.

Today, Lyle does what he loves most, and that’s being there for his community.

Dog found alone at airport with a heartbreaking note from his owner

A 3-month-old Chihuahua was spotted lying at a Las Vegas airport washroom. Many people saw it, but one particular man decided to get closer and see why the little one was all by itself. To his surprise, he noticed a handwritten note next it. It was a heartbreaking one.

As it turned out, the owner fled from an abusive relationship but was unable to take the dog with her. She couldn’t leave it with her ex either because he treated the dog with the same disrespect he treated her. One time, he kicked the dog so hard, that it was still suffering and was in need of medical help.

The note read: “Hi! I’m Chewy. My owner was in an unhealthy relationship and couldn’t afford to pay for my plane ticket. She didn’t want to leave me with her whole heart, but she didn’t have a choice. When we were arguing, my ex-boyfriend kicked my dog, and he now has a large knot on his head. He’ll most likely require the services of a veterinarian. I adore Chewy, and I beg you to cherish and care for him.”

Luckily, the man who took the time to check on Chewy wouldn’t let him there. He called Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue and explained the situation. Luckily, they were more than wiling to take Chewy in and provide him with the much-needed help.

President and founder of the rescue organization, Linda Gilliam, was deeply touched by Chewy’s life story. “My heart plummeted to my knees. I accepted him without hesitation and told my foster to bring him to an ER right away,” she told The Dodo.

Chewy is now doing much better and is on his way to complete recovery. Yet, him being separated from the owner who loved him dearly is a very sad thing. Gilliam says owners who are in an abusive relationship and can’t take care of their pets can always leave them at rescue centers where the staff would do all in their power to keep the pets and the owners together when things get better.

“As a whole, this is a tremendously underappreciated issue,” Gilliam added. “We also wanted to convey to Chewy’s mother that she did a heroic thing by rescuing him, and that he is safe and will have a wonderful life.”

Hero loses life while saving a man who was attacked and thrown onto subway tracks

On New Year’s Eve of this year, a precious life was lost. What was supposed to be a time of celebration and new beginnings, turned into a tragedy for a 36-year-old man named Roland Hueston.

Hueston witnessed an attack of another man who was assaulted with a knife by a group of people at the Fordham Road Subway station in Bronx, New York. As the man waited at the platform, the group approached him and started a fight, after which the man was violently thrown onto the tracks, as reported by CNN.

As Hueston rushed to the man’s rescue, he lost his own life. According to the police report, the heroic man was “subsequently struck by the oncoming train, causing his death.”

The entire incident was caught on security cameras which show Hueston’s selfless act that brought him to death.

The victim of the attack was rushed to the hospital and released shortly after. His mother, Basilia Paulino, spoke of the incident in which her son was attacked and how Hueston saved him.

“He told me they attacked him,” Paulino told the New York Post. “It was a gang, and they started hitting him, and they threw him onto the tracks.

“He could hardly speak because he’s in a lot of pain,” she continued.

She was also extremely grateful to late Hueston for saving her son, but at the same time, she was heartbroken for his loss. “I’m crying for that man,” Paulino said. “I don’t know what to say. He went to help my son and look what happened. He should be in God’s glory, that man.”

In an attempt to track the attackers down, NYPD Crimestoppers shared images of them and asked from the public to come forward with information.

Later in January, three men were arrested and charged with murder, robbery, gang assault and assault. One of them was 16, and the rest were 17 years old.

A few days ago, 19-year-old Noel Rosado was arrested on recommended charges of murder, manslaughter, robbery, gang assault and assault, according to police documentation obtained by CNN.

We hope they will get what they deserve for their crime which led to a young man losing his life.

Desi Arnaz’ dark secret life, alongside iconic Lucille Ball

The show I Love Lucy, which attracted millions of viewers back in the day and is still very popular today, helped pave the way to modern-day sitcom. It was the first show of that kind and everyone found it extremely engaging. Besides the new format, it was the actors who played the main roles that helped tun it into a huge hit which earned numerous Emmy Awards and other honors. Being the first scripted television program to be shot on 35 mm film in front of a studio audience which featured an ensemble cast, the show is regarded one of the greatest and most influential sitcoms in history. In 2012, over five decades after it ended, I Love Lucy was voted the ‘Best TV Show of All Time’ in a survey conducted by ABC News and People magazine.

I Love Lucy followed the lives of a New York couple, Lucy Ricardo and Ricky Ricardo, played by iconic Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz who were married in real-life.

Desi Arnaz was considered a man of many talents. Besides being a celebrated actor, Arnaz was a musician, executive, and producer. He has been credited with the development of the three-camera setup and syndication, as well as the first person who presented the value of reruns.

At the time he first met Ball back in 1940, both he and her were involved with other people, but it only took a couple of days for them to start seeing each other. Shortly after, they tied the knot.

However, as millions looked up to their picture-perfect on-screen relationship, their private life was quite a different story.

Arnaz was a heavy drinker and a womanizer. He was said to be having affairs with different women during the 20 years he was married to Ball. What’s most, she was very well aware of it, and even caught him in the act once.

Things turned even more bitter when the most popular gossip magazine of that time, The Confidential, wrote of Arnaz’s extramarital affairs. On its January cover, 1955, the magazine had a picture of Ball hugging Arnaz with the headline: “Does Desi Really Love Lucy?”

When she demanded a copy of it and read the article, her reaction was: “Oh, hell, I could tell them worse than that.”

Scotty Bower, a famous Hollywood pimp, wrote in his book Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars that Arnaz was ”a sweetheart of a guy, with a healthy heterosexual appetite. He often called me up for girls, tipping them more generously than anyone else I know.”

Ball once filed for a divorce four years into their marriage, but reports are that she spent the night with her husband and the following day, she got out of the courtroom into his arms.

The couple eventually divorced in 1960 and they both moved on with their lives and married other people.

Arnaz stayed by his second wife’s side until her passing. He, however, never stopped battling his demons when it came to drinking. It was after his wife died that he finally got into an AA program with the help of his son. “It was a big hurdle for him to do that, and I was very proud of him. That takes incredible amount of courage,” Desi Arnaz Jr.said of his father.

Sadly, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Great Desi Arnaz left this world on December 2, 1986.

Despite experiencing issues, Arnaz and Ball remained good friends after their divorce. She was said to the the last person he talked to before passing away.
