Foster mom abuses adopted daughter at restaurant while favoring ‘real’ son but a customer has had enough

There are nearly 428,000 children in foster care in the United States. More than 18,000 foster kids live in Arizona, a state with one of the highest numbers of foster kids in the country. Most foster families are taking care and loving these children in need as their own. However, there are some families who are taking advantage of the system, taking the money, the state provides for the child’s needs and using it for their own purpose or for their other biological children instead.

In the emotional video below, a family of three are having their lunch at the Sugar Bowl restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona — Angela, the mother with her foster daughter Emma and her biological son Xavier. After moments of their arrival, people there started noticing how badly the ‘mom’ treats Emma while she treats Xavier very nice. She didn’t give Emma the same delicious food she gave to her son. When Emma asks for a sundae, Angela responded with a truly hurtful explanation: “He’s my real son and you’re my foster kid,” she tells Emma. Angela, even went beyond the unimaginable and threatened Emma to turn her back to the foster care if she doesn’t agree with her unreasonable rules!

luckily, there was an all set up experiment by the famous show “What Would You Do? All of Angela, Emma and Xavier are actors, but other customers weren’t. You have to watch their reactions to the woman’s poor behavior with her foster child. It’s been all caught on hidden cameras. You’ll want to grab a tissue box before watching this one.

Watch the full tear-jerking experiment in the video below:

If this social experiment proves anything, it’s that when we see children being harmed, we have the power to step in and make a difference!

Giant Weed Spreading Across North America Can Cause Third Degree Burns And Blindness If Touched

People are being cautioned to be on the lookout for Giant hogweed, a plant with toxic sap that can cause third degree burns and even blindness. The toxic plants are an invasive species to North America, Europe and Britain and are spreading more and more, which means people and pets are coming into more frequent contact with it.

Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is from the carrot family and is often mistaken for cow parsnip, woodland angelica and Queen Anne’s Lace (also known as wild carrot). It’s the hogweed’s sap that distinguishes it from other plants because of its high toxicity. Giant hogweed sap contains toxic chemicals that make skin hyper-sensitive to ultraviolet light.

Once the sap is exposed to sunlight, it reacts and can cause severe blistering, permanent scarring and blindness if it comes in contact with the eyes.

Sometimes, people do not feel the reaction until a few days later when the sap on their body is exposed to the sun. Even after the affected areas of skin have healed, the skin can remain sensitive to light for years. The chemicals in the sap are known as furocoumarins and are carcinogenic and teratogenic, meaning they can cause cancer and birth defects.

It’s no wonder people want to spread the word of the dangers of the plant! And humans are not the only ones at risk. Livestock and dogs and cats can also be badly harmed. A Great Dane in England recently sniffed a Giant Hogweed plant, which burned her nose severely.

If you or someone you know comes physical contact with giant hogweed they should immediately wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and cold water. If it gets into eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water and wear sunglasses. You will also need to keep the exposed area of skin out of the sun for at least 48 hours. It’s recommended you visit the doctor (or veterinarian, in the case of an animal) if you notice any signs of reaction.

10-year-old Lauren Fuller described how she came in contact with Giant Hogweed when out fishing with her father and ended up burning her hands. Caution: there are a few graphic photos contained in the video.

Key ways to identify the plant are:

  • The stems are hairy and splotchy purple and green in color
  • The leaves are dark green with three deep lobes
  • It can reach a size of height of 14 feet (4-5 metres). Stems have a diameter of 5-10 cm.
  • It has small, pretty, white flowers that are umbrella-shaped and can measure up to 80 cm across.
  • The stems can still be toxic when they are dry and have no leaves!

If you find a plant in your neighborhood or garden, you are advised to contact your local municipality to inform them of the invasive plant. In the video below, there are some tips for the appropriate way to get rid of the hogweed.

People are advised not to make contact with the plant, and to keep pets and children away from the plant. Please share this important educational information with your friends and family!

Girlfriends Quick Thinking Saves Boyfriend When Disaster Strikes

Sometimes a relaxing vacation or trip away from home can take a disastrous turn no one ever could have seen coming. That was the case for 18-year-old Juliet Moore and Isaiah Cormier when they both set out on a weekend camping trip in the Ruby Gulch area of Colorado. The teens had just gotten back to their campsite after a hike when it began to drizzle. Not knowing what was coming, the teens set out to put away all of thier gear inside the tent to avoid it getting wet.

YouTube

Juliet had just gotten into the tent to take shelter when she suddenly saw a bright flash of light. She immediately called out to her boyfriend but there was no response. Alarmed, she poked her head out to find him lying facedown on the ground and immediately knew something was wrong. Isaiah had just been struck by lightning in the neck. Instinctively, Juliet jumped into action, turning him over onto his back. She began checking for a heartbeat and breathing, but couldn’t hear or feel either. Lucky for him Juliet had just learned CPR weeks before and immediately started chest compressions and CPR.

YouTube

After a few compressions Isaiah gasped but immediately stopped breathing again. Again, Juliet began more compressions hoping and praying that he would wake up. Her mind was racing as she kept thinking, “You cannot go yet. I have too many things I want to do with you. You’re not allowed to leave me this soon.” Isaiah awoke again and this time she was lucky she had cell service to contact 911. She yelled for help and a nearby camper came by with his son. Together they put Isaiah into the car and rushed him to the hospital. Not many people can say their girlfriend saved their life but in Isaiah’s case he is very lucky Juliet didn’t hesitate to take action. Watch more of their story in the video below.

Little Girl Senses Danger And Doesn’t Hesitate Taking Action

As a parent, it’s easy to worry about your children day in and day out. One tries to keep them safe by advising them of possible threats, hoping that if a situation arises and you’re not around that your child will know how to stay safe.

When 7-year-old Emmy McCardell decided to go outside her house to sunbathe her mom didn’t think much of it. Emmy was relaxing on her sidewalk when suddenly a car slowly crept up to her house and a stranger inside said “Hello.”

In an instant Emmy knew something wasn’t right.

YouTube

Confused, Emmy looked up from where she was lying and caught sight of the stranger. She immediately got up and that’s when the stranger asked a question that would pique the interest of any child.

The stranger asked:

“Do you want a bicycle?”
By that point, Emmy was already running towards the door when the stranger asked the question and she shouted “No!” as she ran inside.

Once inside, her mother Michelle was horror struck the minute she saw Emmy run through the door. She knew something wasn’t right and that’s when Emmy began explaining what had just happened.

It was every mother’s worst nightmare…

YouTube

In Emmy’s words, a “Tricky Man” had greeted her, making her feel uneasy because he was a stranger. Emmy’s mom Michelle says she has always told her two kids never to trust or listen to a stranger that may approach them.

This was the moment Michelle’s lesson would either pop into Emmy’s head, or she would be lured into a dangerous stranger’s car!

YouTube

Thankfully, in her daughter’s case, Emmy knew just what to do and didn’t hesitate to run to safety. Her quick thinking likely saved her life – and Michelle couldn’t have been more proud of her little girl.

Surveillance footage outside the home captured the whole thing and mom gets chills watching the footage. She can’t even imagine the horror that could have been if her daughter would have approached the stranger. As far as the suspicious man, police are now working hard to track down the vehicle.

Watch the chilling footage for yourself in the video below. It serves as a good reminder to all parents to educate their kids on staying safe.

Man Verbally Harasses Customer And Others Get Involved

The intellectually disabled community has more freedom, respect and compassion from the world around them today than ever before. Even though most of us are thrilled to see people with intellectual disabilities thrive in the world, not everyone feels the same way. There are some people who don’t understand how things work and how independent most people with these conditions can be! That’s what this episode of “What Would You Do” with John Quinones aimed to tackle. Would people side with a man verbally harassing another customer for his disability? Or would they rush to defend the disabled man?

YouTube

According to the National Down Syndrome Society and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in every 700 babies in the United States are born with Down syndrome. Since it occurs so often, Down syndrome is actually the most common chromosomal condition – more than 6,000 babies are born with this in the United States every year. Due to the prevalence of Down syndrome, a massive amount of resources have been allocated to making sure this group gets the opportunities, support and sense of community they need! In the last decade, people with Down syndrome have been welcomed into the business world, can hold esteemed positions in local government and are helping shape society. Even with all of the positive things that the intellectually disabled community has done for the world, there are still small-minded people out there who have hate to spew…

YouTube

Sadly, that’s what happened inside this restaurant. A man with Down syndrome sat at a table and waited patiently for the waitress to take his order – just like we all do when we eat out! But when the waitress approached his table and began to explain some of the menu items, another man spoke up. He wasn’t helping the disabled young man select a meal. He was verbally harassing him instead! People in the restaurant couldn’t believe their eyes. How could someone treat another human being with such disrespect? See how other patrons handled the rude restaurant goer in the video below. Would you do the same thing?

Man’s Baffled Seeing Teen Holding Stop Sign At Intersection

When something just doesn’t seem right, there are those who feel compelled to act even if the situation doesn’t involve them. That’s exactly what happened one hot day in Oklahoma City.

Randy Jones was outside marking warning signs for some new construction when he came upon an intersection. There on the side of the road was a teenage boy, who was grasping onto the pole of a stop sign.

YouTube

Believing it seemed odd, Randy decided to approach the teen and ask him why he was holding the stop sign. Not only was it something you don’t normally see – the temperature was a scorching 95 degrees and he had no shade or water.

Randy told News 9:

“I was like ‘what in the world is this kid doing.'”
But it was the 17-year-old’s response, whose name is Logan, that really threw him for a loop.

YouTube

Logan explained to Randy that he had noticed that the stop sign had been knocked down. On top of that, he also almost witnessed a car accident because of it.

Not wanting anyone to get hurt, Logan picked up the stop sign during his lunch break from work. He then stood there holding it in position so that drivers could safely cross over the intersection.

Randy was blown away by the young man’s thoughtfulness and how quick he was to step into action during the potentially dangerous situation. He said:

“Not a lot of people would do what he did. To have the awareness to know to get out and help, it’s pretty cool.”

Facebook/Randy Jones

Randy immediately contacted the City of Oklahoma City, who then sent a truck out to fix the stop sign. In addition, he also shared a photo he had taken of Logan holding up the sign on Facebook, along with the rest of the story.

Unsurprisingly, Randy’s post went viral and has been shared more than 3,500 times. Many people have been expressing their appreciation and kind words for what a great job Logan did – because sometimes stepping up is what makes the world of difference.

Randy closed his post saying:

“Hopefully this gets back to this young man, you did a good job and I’m sure the citizens of the city of Oklahoma city appreciate it as well.”

As many of us already know, seniors can have quite the sense of humor. Maybe it’s thanks to their vast life experiences, or simply a different perspective on life altogether. Whatever the reason may be, sometimes it is the older members of society that bring us the most joy. Mom’s Tearful Post About Shoes On Front Porch Goes Viral

Parents love when their kids have friends over, but aren’t always as fond of the messes left behind. Hearing the laughter from the living room or the banter from the basement warms a mom’s heart.

However, sometimes it can be overwhelming when your house is the one where everyone loves to crash. Sweeping up the crumbs, washing a pile of towels, baking an endless stream of pizza, tripping over extra shoes, not to mention the empty fridge and cupboards once a hungry group of kids have their way.

Flickr/andersbknudsen

Heather Duckworth of Love, Faith & Chaos is a mom who understands those feelings all too well. She shared on Facebook that many parents have only 18 summers with their kids and as the end of her 18th summer with her teens draws to a close, she began feeling differently about those piles of shoes she found strewn about her front porch.

“These shoes are a sure sign that it is summer and school is out. These shoes mean there is probably no food left in my house. These shoes mean noise and chaos and laughter and music. It means there are probably kids lounging on my sofa, floating in my pool, playing air hockey or watching a movie somewhere. These shoes mean that we are the designated hang-out house today.”

Facebook/Love, Faith & Chaos

But one day, she paused before perusing past the pile of shoes and felt a wave of sadness wash over her. The kids to whom those shoes belong had been hanging out at her house for four years now.

They are kids who have played sports with hers, who have been in the same classes dating all the way back to elementary school, kids she has watched grow up with her own. But those shoes will be going different directions come fall, a melancholy thought she didn’t welcome.

“Big changes are happening around here – for me and all these kids in my house. My heart knows it and feels it and that’s why the sight of these shoes has me feeling a little sentimental. I know that after this summer, things will never be the same again. This is a bittersweet part of parenthood . . . this transition from having them home to watching them leave. My head knows this is a good thing, but my heart . . . it just hurts.”
Seeing those shoes means her kids are home. It means Heather knows where they are at, who they are with and that everyone is safe under her roof.

Yet those shoes won’t be there much longer. Soon, those shoes will be kicked off in dorm rooms across the country as the kids to whom they belong take their first big steps into adulthood.

“And I know that all of these shoes might not find their way back home next summer as life takes them on new adventures. These thoughts hang over my head like a dark cloud . . . trying to steal the joy from the present moments. I shake my head, trying to force those wistful feelings away. I don’t want the sadness of what is to come to take away the happiness of today. But I am finding that I have to remind myself of that often during this 18th summer because every moment seems bittersweet.”

Facebook/Love, Faith & Chaos

For now, Heather said she will “embrace these shoes and I will be so thankful for them.” She will immerse herself in every last minute before her beloveds spread their wings and leave the nest.

“I will buy all the snacks. I will welcome these kids into my home and let them crash on my couches. I will soak up the sounds of their laughter and I will make them clean up all of their messes. I will pray that everyone drives home safely and I will love having a full house. But most of all, I will do my best to choose happiness and joy for this moment right now and not let that dark cloud of sadness swallow me up. Because this moment right now . . . it is really good.”
Before Heather helps her college-bound kids pack and embark upon an exciting adventure, she will “treasure this summer of the shoes.” Because all too soon, the shoes will be gone and her porch, sadly, will be empty.

Since writing her touching post – it’s gone viral and been shared more than 100,000 times.

Man Gets $1 Bill As Change And Sees Wife’s Name Written On It

Sometimes, we get to experience something so special and unforeseen that we wonder whether it is a pure magic, a miracle, or maybe a plain coincidence. These events are those moments in life that leave us astounded, and take our breath away.

This is the story of Peter Bilello that testifies about those one-of-a-kind miracles. He was born in Sicily, but came to the U.S when he was young, in the early 1960s. In one occasion, when he went back home to visit his parents, his mother introduced him to a beautiful young woman who became his soul mate and a life companion shortly after.

YouTube

The newlyweds decided to move back to America together, and settled down in Harford, Connecticut. Their life was a happy one. They got two lovely children and four grandchildren.

Peter loved his wife endlessly and came up with a nice idea that would stand as a symbol for the affection they felt for each other. He took two dollar bills out of his pocket, signed the one, and then gave the other to Grace to sign it. He promised to keep the bills in his wallet forever.

YouTube

Peter explained in an interview with WTNH News, “Then I put them in my wallet. And I said, ‘These dollars are going to be in my wallet forever.'”

However, five years later, he somehow spent the two bucks by mistake. He says: “I feel so mad, I feel sorry. I said, ‘I was never going to see those two dollars back again.'”

YouTube

Peter and Grace got to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by their family and friends. But sadly, a few months after that, Grace passed away and left her husband heartbroken.

Then, seven months after he lost her, Peter witnessed something truly amazing, a sign from God that the spirit of his beloved wife was still there, looking after him and the family.

YouTube

He entered a restaurant with one of his grandchildren and what he received by the waitress was a fortunate stroke of serendipity.

He felt the urge to visit the cemetery and Grace’s grave and tell her what happened.

Mom Gets Text About Random Boy Standing Alone Outside School

Stacey Philpot is a blogger and a mother who decided she had it enough of the social media she honestly believed was quite toxic. She wanted to stay away from all those social networking sites and the virtual world, and actually try to experience the real one.

But it turned our her idea to ditch the Internet wasn’t going as planned because just as she reached that decision, she got a message from a friend about something posted on Facebook that she had to see. Breaking up with the digital world wasn’t going to happen that day, because she was way too curious and had to log into her account.

Once she saw the news she simply couldn’t believe her eyes. A random person had caught one boy doing something all of the other students refused to do. Stacey felt overwhelmed when she realized it was a photo of her son, and his picture along with his story were spreading on Facebook like a wildfire.

Stacey realized that everyone was talking about her son’s act, and she couldn’t be more proud. Complete strangers were praising her son’s behavior and she knew she did just the right thing when she taught him the true values of life. His action was considered courageous by most of the people who read the story behind the photo of Hayden.

Stacey said how her son

“… captured the attention of our community by standing alone, by doing everything we’d ever taught him, everything we’d ever hoped he would do. I was completely undone.”

Facebook/Chronically Whole

Hayden was spotted standing next to the Lake Minneola High School’s flagpole during the annual See You At The Pole day. That’s an event that encourages young students to gather around the flagpole and pray for the well-being of those they love, their church, and the whole community.

“My son says at first, he thought he would simply pray until someone else came along. Eventually, he realized no one else was coming. Then, the cry of his heart changed. He asked that God would do something with his standing alone.”

He didn’t care if he was standing alone, as long as he did what he truly believed in.

Facebook/Chronically Whole

Stacey was eager for Hayden to learn that he was a real sensation among the people from his community, as well as the whole country, so she sent him a message while he was still at school, saying:

“You should know that people in our community are going crazy about a young man who stood at a flag pole alone and prayed this morning. They are talking about what an amazing young man he must be and how proud his parent’s should be. And I want you to know that your parents are so proud of you. You are an amazing young man. I love you so much.”

This mother and son spent that night reading all those positive comments that meant the world to a young boy like Hayden. Stacey added:

“So to you, wherever it is in your life you stand alone, be it a flag pole or a marriage, a place of work or a seemingly impossible situation, I believe my son would like to remind you God can do big things with your standing alone. Perhaps, for now, you are praying until someone else shows up or takes notice. God sees, he knows, and he can do big things.”

It turns out Internet and the social media are not that toxic after all and could be used for good words to be spread.

Girl With Cerebral Palsy Warns Family Of Danger

Birthdays are big occasions for little kids. It’s not just the anticipation of tearing into presents, but also having fun with family and friends, enjoying delicious cake and celebrating the big milestone.

While Lexie’s family was busy bustling around preparing for her ninth birthday party, something tragic and terrible was unfolding. Only Lexie was aware of what was happening, but she couldn’t tell anyone.

YouTube

Lexie has celebral palsy and is wheelchair-bound. She cannot walk or talk.

On the day of her birthday party, danger was lurking nearby. Her rambunctious and adventurous little brother, 18-month-old Leeland, was in harm’s way and no knew except for Lexie.

YouTube

Their mom Kelly Jackson headed upstairs to change clothes for the party while their grandmother Nancy Comeau-Drisdelle brought Leeland downstairs after he awoke from his nap. Nancy continued working on party details in the kitchen while Leeland toddled about.

That’s when Lexie spied Leeland slipping out the unlocked patio door. He closed the door behind him and headed straight for the family’s swimming pool.

Lexie knew Leeland was in harm’s way. But she couldn’t rush after him or holler for help.

So the brave little girl mustered all of her strength and began shrieking. She managed to point at the door while screeching, alerting her family that something was wrong, Kelly told CTV Atlantic.

“All of the sudden, I’m upstairs and I hear her screaming… We’ve never heard her scream like that.”

YouTube

Nancy heard Lexie and spun around. Leeland was gone.

“She’s yelling and she’s pointing at the door, and I realize Leeland’s not with her. I took off outside and I’m not seeing him. I ran, and he’s right by the edge (of the pool) and I took him out.”
It was a miracle that Leeland did not drown. He ingested water, but after being checked out at the local hospital, his family was told he was fine.

Little Leeland owes everything to his big sister who, despite her physical challenges, truly saved his life. Lexie’s family said it was a birthday they will never forget.

Kelly shared with CTV Atlantic:

“I hugged her, I cried and I still thank her every day. Because honestly, in that matter, two seconds makes a huge difference.”
The following day, the family put a fence up around the pool. They also installed a locking gate between their home at their pool.

As for Lexie, this sweet little superhero has received awards from the Halifax Regional Police and her local MLA for her life-saving efforts.

Grandpa Dancing At Festival

This 83-year-old man proves that you’re only as old as you feel. At a festival in Holland, he shows everyone a thing or two about a great way to appreciate music.

An electronic dance music festival is not where most people would expect to find a man in his eighties. Yet at the Edit Dance Festival in Haarlem, he proves that dance is in the genes of the Dutch. This festival had international DJs performing, yet this man will probably be remembered best for his performance that day. He had the best dance moves in the whole crowd, and several people gathered in the background to watch him. When asked what he thought of the festival, he responded, “It’s still early. I am waiting for the DJs who play harder music”. What a great reply! He is now inspiring many people who have watched his video, whether they are older and thought their dancing days were behind them, or if they are younger and now have someone to look up to and emulate as the years go by. When he enjoys the music, he is ready to let loose and dance and won’t let anything stop him.

Woman bends over dead woman. Seconds later, family notices something priceless went missing

Lois Hicks, an 88-year-old woman passed away in her hometown of Odessa in April 2006. The family members gathered for a meeting near a nearby funeral home the following day. All was well, until Lois’ family left the room.

A woman with no family ties found her way in the funeral’s restroom at 5:30 p.m. The unidentified female thief leaned into the coffin and removed Lois’ diamond ring from her finger. The thief fled after her deed.

Fortunately, the security camera’s captured the incident. When Vel, Lois’ daughter, walked in 15 minutes later to retouch her late mom’s makeup, she discovered the ring was missing. Despite the camera capturing the incident, the police were unable to identify the female thief. Days later, the authorities were able to trace the 41-year old woman and preferred charges against her, stealing from a human corpse.

Unknown to the thief, she had a stolen a fake diamond ring worth $10. I am sure the thief has not recovered from the embarrassment she caused herself yet.

Lois must really have been a pretty fantastic and humorous woman to be able to play a prank on people — even after her own death.

Below you can see what the camera caught.

5-year-old’s 911 call saves her dad’s life and is shared by millions for being so darn cute

Kids are so adorable, sometimes they just know how to say the truth of a situation, when us adults would normally bite our lip. Savannah, who is five years old is equally hilarious in what she does, so much so that it has gone viral!

She discovers her father, daddy, in distress, she knows exactly what to do and gets right to it, it all starts when her father feels pain and thinks the worse…

The conversation that Savannah has with dispatcher is so incredibly funny, her dad thinks is is having a heart attack but is in too much pain to speak, Savannah steps in!!

So little Savannah takes the phone from dad and she reassures him that he will be alright and manages to keep amazingly calm for the whole duration of the 911 telephone conversation.

Little Savannah competently tells the 911 dispatcher that her dad “can hardly breathe” she tells him that he needs help and to hurry up and get to their home. The dispatcher reassures little Savannah that help is on the way and it won’t be too long.

She turns and tells her pop that he will be alright and help is coming soon. The dispatcher asks if the front door is locked, Savannah doesn’t know, so she asks her dad…

When she finds out that the door is actually locked, the dispatcher asks her to unlock it ready for the emergency workers…

When Savannah realizes that strangers will be coming into her house she realizes that she and her dad are still wearing their pajamas.

She makes a decision that she needs to get changed before the rescuers arrive, so she say to the dispatcher that since she’s in a tank top, she must go to her room to get dressed.

The dispatcher gently intervenes and says that she really needs to stay there with her dad, to look after him and watch him, the dispatcher continually checks if her dad is awake and how he is doing.

Lovely Savannah really can’t help thinking about what she is wearing and she doesn’t want the emergency workers to see her in her pajammies!

Savannah says:

“I don’t know what I’m gonna wear, but he really needs oxygen real fast.”

She then introduces the dispatcher to her doggie LouLou, who likes to bark a lot, but is a very friendly dog!

You really have to listen to Savannah and her sweet reassurance she gives to her dad through the whole thing!

Baby Saved By Strangers

A day-old infant, Victoria, was taken from her parents by a woman that appeared to be a nurse, claiming that the baby needed to get routine tests done. But 13 minutes later the family realizes something isn’t quite right.

On a Monday evening, the new parents cuddled their newborn baby in a Quebec hospital. A woman dressed as a nurse came into their room and said she needed to take the baby for a routine test. Just 13 minutes later, the hospital called the police about the missing child, and the picture of her from security footage was spread around. The parents also shared pictures of their little girl, asking for help. A group of people in their 20s decided to take the initiative and search around, when one of them, looking more closely at the picture of the kidnapper, realized she was an old neighbor.

They called the police and within moments the baby was rescued. The girls later said it was the best moment in their lives and they were crying. Victoria’s parents thanked everyone involved in a post on Facebook, and warned others to always ask questions despite the uniforms people might be wearing. Thank goodness this young lady was paying attention and was able to play such an important part in the speedy recovery of the kidnapped newborn.

Together, the three teens shared the stage and sang a rendition of “The Prayer” by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli that left the judges and audience members speechless!

YouTube

Even though Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli’s voices come together perfectly in the original version, there was a little-known detail behind its recording. The song was actually recorded as two separate pieces – one in English recorded by Celine, the other in Italian recorded by Andrea. The thought of recording it in two languages turned out to be a smart decision, as the song was an instant success. Shortly after its release, “The Prayer” won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1999, as well as a Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals in 2000. Now, “The Prayer” is widely considered to be one of the best collaborations of all time.

The song’s challenging nature and moving lyrics were why Matteo, Claudia, and Matteo Markus opted to sing it as a trio. While they were competing against one another for a chance to move onto the next round, their voices blended together flawlessly. It’s hard to imagine that these three are teenagers, not season artists! Listen to their impressive rendition of “The Prayer” for yourself by pressing “play” on the video below. If this performance is any indication, all three have a bright future in the music industry!

If Noah Built His Ark in Modern Day America, This is What Would Have Probably Happened

We all know the story of Noah and the ark all too well, but would it go the way it did if it took place in modern day America? Not according to this story.

It was submitted by a man named Steve S. from Gainesville, Florida and we are so glad he got to share it with us.

If Noah had lived in the United States today the story may have gone something like this…

And the Lord spoke to Noah and said, “In one year, I am going to make it rain and cover the whole earth with water until all flesh is destroyed. But I want you to save the righteous people and two of every kind of living thing on earth. Therefore, I am commanding you to build an Ark.” In a flash of lightning, God delivered the specifications for an Ark. In fear and trembling, Noah took the plans and agreed to build the ark. “Remember,” said the Lord, “you must complete the Ark and bring everything aboard in one year.”

Exactly one year later, fierce storm clouds covered the earth and all the seas of the earth went into a tumult. The Lord saw that Noah was sitting in his front yard weeping. “Noah!” He shouted. “Where is the Ark?”

“Lord, please forgive me,” cried Noah. “I did my best, but there were big problems.

First, I had to get a permit for construction, and your plans did not meet the building codes. I had to hire an engineering firm and redraw the plans. Then I got into a fight with OSHA over whether or not the Ark needed a sprinkler system and approved floatation devices. Then, my neighbor objected, claiming I was violating zoning ordinances by building the Ark in my front yard, so I had to get a variance from the city planning commission.

Then, I had problems getting enough wood for the Ark, because there was a ban on cutting trees to protect the Spotted Owl. I finally convinced the U.S. Forest Service that I really needed the wood to save the owls. However, the Fish and Wildlife Service won’t let me take the 2 owls.

The carpenters formed a union and went on strike. I had to negotiate a settlement with the National Labor Relations Board before anyone would pick up a saw or hammer. Now, I have 16 carpenters on the Ark, but still no owls.

When I started rounding up the other animals, an animal rights group sued me. They objected to me taking only two of each kind aboard. This suit is pending.

Meanwhile, the EPA notified me that I could not complete the Ark without filing an environmental impact statement on your proposed flood. They didn’t take very kindly to the idea that they had no jurisdiction over the conduct of the Creator of the Universe.

Then, the Army Corps of Engineers demanded a map of the proposed flood plain. I sent them a globe.

Right now, I am trying to resolve a complaint filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that I am practicing discrimination by not taking atheists aboard.

The IRS has seized my assets, claiming that I’m building the Ark in preparation to flee the country to avoid paying taxes. I just got a notice from the state that I owe them some kind of user tax and failed to register the Ark as a ‘recreational water craft’.

And finally, the ACLU got the courts to issue an injunction against further construction of the Ark, saying that since God is flooding the earth, it’s a religious event, and, therefore unconstitutional. I really don’t think I can finish the Ark for another five or six years.”

Noah waited. The sky began to clear, the sun began to shine, and the seas began to calm. A rainbow arched across the sky.

Noah looked up hopefully. “You mean you’re not going to destroy the earth, Lord?”

“No,” He said sadly. “I don’t have to. The government already has.”

Woman Left in Shock After Noticing a Wet Dog With Makeshift Anchor Attached to Its Collar

Audra Petraškienė was driving near a river.  She was close to her home and she noticed a dog on the side of the road. The dog was sitting all alone wet and shivering. Audra had to stop and help him.  She noticed something around the dogs neck and probably why he was staying in that one spot.
It was a makeshift anchor. An anchor!!  Made of Iron and attached to his collar with at clasp.

It seemed that the dog had somehow pulled himself out of the water where someone had tried to drown him.

The spaniel looked so scared and confused Audra wasn’t sure how he would react to her approaching him.

Watch the video of her rescue.  this is so heartbreaking but we are so THANKFUL for Audra and he willingness to help a pup in need of some love.

Veteran And Wife Sleep In Freezing Cold, Left In Tears When Kids Tell Them House Is Theirs

Veterans have given so much of themselves for the rest of us – their time, their families, their comfort, their safety – yet when they come home their sacrifices often go unrecognized. That’s why we love it when we hear stories like this one of people who give veterans the recognition and honor they deserve!

Navy veteran Eddie Browning and his wife, Cindy Browning, had been praying for a new home for a while. The camper they had been living in had fallen into disrepair and had been further damaged by a fire, but the couple couldn’t afford to make the necessary repairs. They were left largely exposed to the elements in the dead of winter.

“We’ve been freezing to death,” Eddie said.

Recently, though, their prayers were answered by a group of big-hearted students from Elm Street Elementary in Rome, Georgia.

The students had come up with an idea to build a tiny house for a homeless veteran. They started the project about a year ago, but ran into some roadblocks when they couldn’t find a place to legally put it.

But when organizers of the Georgia Tiny House Festival at Ooh La La Lavender Farms heard about the students’ predicament, they jumped in to help. They offered to let the kids store the house on the farm.

Then they took things a step further.

The students had originally planned to build a house that measured four feet by eight feet and fill it with a sleeping bag, supplies, and a propane heater. The house wouldn’t have plumbing or electricity.

But as word got out about their project, donors, volunteers, and corporate sponsors pitched in to help them add a larger extension onto the house, put in electricity and plumbing, and fill the house with amenities.

During the festival, the Brownings were escorted to the field where the tiny homes were displayed, thinking they would just be checking them out. When they were informed that one of the houses was actually theirs – and had been given to them by a group of kids, no less – they were overwhelmed.

“I don’t have the words to tell you what we feel,” Eddie said through tears.

“It’s like a dream,” Cindy chimed in.

They said they are excited to move in and escape the freezing elements that have been plaguing them in their old house.

“[This] will be warm,” Eddie said.

After the festival, the house was brought to the Browning’s property in Norwood.

The project has been such a success that the school has decided they will try to donate a tiny house every year.

Chinese Man Chases After The Thief Who Stole His Three Dogs

One of the worst feelings in the world is realizing your dog is missing.

In China, there are few laws that protect animals.  The dog meat industry is responsible for over 20 million dog killings per year. Over a thousand dogs are taken right out of their homes and killed or resold every year.  There was ONE man that wasn’t about to let his pet be taken from his home.

He was able to catch the van and proceeded to crash into it with his own car. The collision caused the van to flip and come to a stop. The owner jumps out with what looks to be a machete. He started swinging the long knife in the middle of the street.  He was obviously angry and determined to do whatever he had to to save his dog.

THe video shows the thief exit his vehicle with a bat ready for a battle.  Spectators as well as police officers watch at their arrival.  The officers detained the thief. Luckily, all three dogs were rescued and unharmed. The owner was so beyond happy when he was finally reunited with both of his dogs.

44-year-old Xie was detained by officers.

“Police also confiscated the tools believed to be used by the suspect to steal dogs, including lassos, a rod, a hammer and a butterfly catcher. They also found four fake number plates in the suspect’s van.”

Xie admitted to stealing the dogs but would not say what he planned on doing with them. It was likely that he would have killed for the dogs for meat or resold them as pets.  Luckliy these dogs are safe and sound.

The intense rescue was caught on the video below.

Toddler Debuts In Pow Wow And His Moves Astonish Everyone

Culture and family history is incredibly important to many people, including Martina Desjarlais. This mom makes sure her little ones are fully immersed in their Native Canadian heritage and feel the same sense of pride as she does.

Martina has shared traditional songs and dances with her children. As they grow up and are ready, they perform in powwows alongside their leaders.

Her little boy Albert, however, decided he didn’t want to wait to be old enough to dance in his tribe’s powwow one day. Mom captured him on video watching the adult men at their powwow.

Albert did a phenomenal job of trying to keep up. So they worked together at home and finally, Martina felt he was ready to make his big official debut.

Despite being just two years old, an age where kids are still mastering how to navigate the playground side and can’t even tie their shoes, Martina encouraged little Albert to dance in a powwow in Camrose, Alberta, Canada. She was nervous for him, but this shy little guy was ready.

Martina captured footage of her baby boy that she shared on Facebook. He not only is dressed in traditional attire for his powwow and looks absolutely precious, but his moves are quite impressive, too!

Albert struts his stuff and stomps his feet rapidly, then takes bigger steps. He clutches a tambourine and rattles it alongside the men dancing in the circle.

We’re sure Martina’s heart is swelling with love for her little boy and his bravery at being in the center of the dance circle. It’s no wonder this video has gone viral!

So many people have expressed how simply adorable Albert is. It will be wonderful watching him grow up and continue to embrace his heritage.
