Teen says first words after head-on car crash left him with traumatic brain injury 2 years ago

2017 was a terrible year for Jackson Gannon, a teenager from South Carolina. This young man, who was an excellent student and star sportsman among his peers, had a terrible accident that completely changed his life.

In 2017, while he was travelling in Georgia, he got very serious brain damage when he was in involved in a car crash. According to WBTV, the accident caused brain damage, pneumonia and staph infection. These drastically changed his life and stopped him from doing the things he was best at.

Having in mind the seriousness of injuries and how the injuries affected his organs, the doctors told the family that they do not expect him to walk or even talk again. This devastated the family.

However, Jackson turned out to be fighter. With lots of exercises, therapy and support from medical staff and the family, Jackson can walk again on his own. It took him some 21 months to make some progress and this recovery encouraged him to fight even more.

However, that’s not all. He has even spoken his first words since the terrible accident. His family posted a video on his Facebook page showing how Jackson said the first words.

He spoke the first words by using the finger. This method facilitated his pronunciation. Initially he places the finger to make the ‘shh’ sound, and then he continues uttering the word ‘she’.

By using this technique, Jackson continues with his second word. Again, with the help of the finger he utters the word ‘shoe’.

He and his family are overwhelmed by happiness and hope. Jackson did the unexpected. His family’s happiness was evident in the post itself:

“Jackson’s first words!!!!!” the caption read. “Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!!!! Jackson is beginning to speak!!! #toGodbetheglory #hardworkpaysoff #happytears.”

These small steps are huge for Jackson. With proper exercise, therapy and will he may achieve the unexpected and prove that the doctors have been mistaken.

Since he was a star wrestler in his school, Jackson’s personal characteristic as a fighter once again prevail. Now his life’s goals are totally different than those prior to the accident, but the benefits from achieving the current goals are tremendous. Normalizing your life is a priority number one.

Stasea Morris, his mother, believes that God has played his role in this recovery as well. She says:

“This was Jackson’s reaction to spreading hope across the nation! We explained to him that his testimony has reached nearly 600k views. This was his dream before the car wreck and it is being fulfilled, spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and His miraculous restoration.”

14 year old earns coveted Golden Buzzer on Ireland’s Got Talent

If you haven’t heard of 14-year old Iveta, you are probably going to, as she is likely to conquer the musical industry. Her performance on the stage of Ireland’s Got Talent shook the show’s fans from all around the globe as they all agree how this girl is a real star in the making.

Iveta’s amazing vocal abilities along with the song she chose to perform blended in a perfect combination that is hard to beat. Opting for Lady Gaga’s “I’ll Never Love Again” from A Star Is Born speaks just how confident this contestant is in her singing talent. The song is one of those even the big names from the music world avoid performing as it is highly demanding and requires out-of-this-world vocal skills. Free of stage fright and anxiety, Iveta stunned the world and made the audiences’ jaws drop. One may assume how the panel of judges are hard to impress as they’ve seen a lot of talented contestants during the years, but even they agree how what Iveta had to offer was a freshening experience.

The third remake of the romance A Star Is Born starring Bradley Cooper (he also directed the movie) and Lady Gaga, won numerous awards and nominations, among which an Oscar for original music. Real life Superhero spotted in Houston

Thomas from Houston is the superhero that captured the world’s attention. This real life superhero is actually an ordinary family guy with great heart and care for the people. What he did during a concert in Houston taught everyone how to be kind and good-mannered.

Thomas Harwell, his wife Shayle Harwell and their two-year-old daughter planned to spend the day watching the Brad Paisley concert. The concert took place at the NRG Park in Houston. They didn’t have a clue that that day will become quite memorable for both of them.

While the family was waiting for the start of the concert, Shayla noticed an older woman who was having difficulties walking down the stairs. She was heading towards them. Shayla and Thomas immediately helped the lady. Shayla says:

“She was having a rough time. I nudged my husband and told him that they may need help.”

The woman was not alone. She was with her daughter and two granddaughters. Since they could not help the lady, Thomas offered his help. He took the old woman and he helped her get her seat.

However, Thomas’ help didn’t end there. If it was someone else instead of this kind man, the lady would have been left there during and after the concert. However, Thomas was different type of a man. Both of them, Thomas and Shayla continued watching over this family because they knew the old woman would need their help again. Thomas recalls:

“I helped her downstairs, and I wasn’t going to leave until I helped her upstairs.”

This man really knows how to care about people. When the concert ended, he went to the family and helped the old lady up the stairs. He once again offered the lady his help and she modestly accepted it. This time Shayla took a picture of them both.

Y’all I have to brag on my husband big time tonight! He made me Soo proud. As we were sitting in our seats waiting for the rodeo to start I noticed an elderly lady ( pictured below) her grown daughter and 2 young granddaughters trying to come down the stairs. The elderly lady was having a rough time. I pointed them out to Thomas Harwell and said they may need help. Not only did he help get her to her seat, but she did not have the strength to come back up the stairs. So, he carried her!

This act of kindness touched the lady. She was so grateful for the help and too happy that there was a real man that did everything he could just to provide her the opportunity to enjoy the concert.

However, this isn’t the only time he helped other people. Being a fire fighter for 15 years gave him a lot of opportunities to help people. He doesn’t hesitate offering his help to people who are in difficult situation. Regarding this he says:

“If you’re alive and breathing, you shouldn’t need an excuse to help someone else. If they need help, help them.”

Upon posting this story and the photo on the Internet, Shayla’s post was an instant hit. It reached more than 40.000 likes in just a day and over 6,000 comments were posted under the photo.

People left various types of comments. Many said very positive words for Thomas’actions and acknowledges his kindness. One comment said:

“Thank you for sharing this wonderful picture. Your husband is a real gentleman and a great, caring person. You are blessed!!!! My husband would have done the same if possible. Our men are rare and far between for those looking.”

We do hope there are more people like Thomas. He exemplified the words kindness and good manners. Well done Thomas!

Probably there is not a single person out there that can resist a good beat. We all enjoy good song and music that makes us feel special. Wherever and whenever we hear a great song, our body starts moving like we are on the dance floor. Simple dance requires simple moves and less efforts in order to perform the act perfectly. Clogging is undoubtedly one of those very difficult, but extremely amusing dancing acts. To many clogging doesn’t sound funny, while for others it is a very interesting and difficult dance that involves lot of physical efforts. However, clogging is very cool and since it’s not a very commonly performed dance, knowing how to clog is a ‘personal superpower’ for showing off. This dance is a combination of energetic moves and addictive rhythm and leaves no one indifferent.

Mastering clog dance is not an easy task. It’s a challenging thing to do. Whether you clog solo or in a group, several things should be considered in order to dance like a professional. Clogging requires lots of discipline, attention to details and collaboration with the co-dancers. The synchronisation of the movements and the energy of the dancers is what impress people. Prof. Hatt explained, “We have discovered a new class of GABA receptor modulator which can be administered parenterally and through the respiratory air. Applications in sedation, anxiety, excitement, and aggression relieving treatment and sleep induction therapy are all imaginable.”

It was determined that jasmine can help:

CDC report says American population could drop

Many reports regarding the demography of the world show some very concerning results. The world’s population is getting old. In other words, the fertility rates in many countries are in decline, which means less newborns. Countries like Bulgaria, Romania or Moldova are already facing the consequences of the population decline.

The CDC’s report on the US demography is also concerning. The figures show that the fertility rate in the country is in decline and the experts expect some difficult periods for the nation in terms of newborns and young generations.

Except for only two US states, Utah and South Dakota, all of the other US states have decreased fertility rate, according to the 2017 report. This is a direct consequence of a very simple thing – many people decide not to have kids in these states.

The statistical tools for determining the fertility rate follows the following formula. The fertility rate is determined with a projected number of births per 1,000 women. These estimates take into consideration the projected average number of babies of women. In order to understand the experts’ alarm, in 1950s the average number of children for women was 4.7, while in 2017 it’s only 2.4.

There are many factors for such decrease. The fertility rate decrease is not a new phenomenon in America. It has been recorded in the previous decades as well.

The second one is a direct result of the good sex education in the country, which directly and efficiently decreased the number of pregnant teenagers.

However, the USA are not the only that are affected by this decrease. Countries of similar economical and demographical outline like the USA have the same problems. The fertility rate decrease can be seen in the reports for countries from Asia, Europe and North America.

Trucker slams the brakes when he spots it on the roadside. Now the police are begging for help

Truck drivers spend a great deal of time behind the wheel and stumble upon many eye-catching sights along the way. Unfortunately, they aren’t always pleasant ones. Recently, a trucker was heading towards Cortland, New York, when he spotted something unusual. A person driving dark blue Dodge Durango threw two dogs out of the vehicle before leaving the spot.

It was the most horrendous act of cruelty this truck driver has ever seen. Neither he, nor us can ever understand how someone can be so cold hearted. Luckily, this kind man pulled his truck over and called the police. One of the canines didn’t suffer any serious injuries, while the other one, unfortunately, had to have one of his legs amputated.

“These animals have been through a lot, and people need to understand that this is not OK,” said Amberly Ondria, a shelter manager at the Broome County Humane Society. “This is not something that should be done.” Adam, the truck driver, feels the same way.

The first responders came at the scene and tried to track the dogs’ owner down, but he or she was already gone and obviously didn’t plan on getting the poor creatures back home. The dogs were later named Trooper and Adam, after the men who first came to their help.

Trooper, the dog who lost a leg and is believed to be between 6 and 8 years old, already feels better. He manages to get around using his three legs.

“Although a bit unsteady, and only moving a short distance, it is very obvious that he is determined,” The Humane Society posted on Facebook. The other dog is thought to be around 1 year old.

“Thank you to EVERYONE for your prayers, kind words, generous donations and sharing this story!” The Humane Society continued. “It is because of all of you that we can get Trooper and Adam the level and quality of care that they need and deserve. Words cannot describe how tremendous people are and how everyone is rallying for these dogs!”

“And Adam [the trucker] has expressed his wishes of adopting both of them. He has already proven he has a big heart and these pups would have an amazing life with him. Please let that happen too.”

The organization is sharing Adam and Trooper’s story in hopes it would reach someone who has information on the neglectful owner. One person wrote, “I sincerely hope the dash cam of Adam’s truck can bring justice for these poor babies.”

The best thing is that Adam, the truck driver, is willing to adopt both the dogs. If that happens, we can rest assured they will have an amazing life ahead of them.

School stumbles upon chalkboards from 1917 during renovation, perfectly preserved lessons provide rare look into past.

Emerson High School in Oklahoma City is in the focus of the news with their interesting and fascinating discovery. The regular renovation and modernisation of the classrooms of this high school uncovered an amazing well-preserved objects. These object give us a chance to see how people in the past have been teaching and studying.

The school purchased modern smart boards in order to replace the old chalkboards in the classrooms. While the workers were removing the old chalkboard, they uncovered old well-preserved chalkboards. The old ones would have been thrown away if the workers didn’t see the drawings and the writing on the board. The words and drawing were done nearly a hundred years ago, in 1917. This fascinated everyone.

The condition of the writing and the drawings are almost perfect. One part shows the calendar, specifically December 1917.

Another part of the boards is featuring a scene of Thanksgiving Day.

The English teacher Cinthea Comer says:

“It was so eerie because the colors were so vibrant, it looked like it was drawn the same day. To know that it was drawn 100 years ago… it’s like you’re going into a looking glass into the past.”

Sherry Kishore, the Principal, says that she likes the discovery, not only because of the colours and the well-preserved writing, but also because it shows some very old teaching techniques.

One example of the outdated teaching technique is this wheel of multiplication, which is not used for decades.

Besides that, there is a modification of the Pledge of Allegiance as well.

It says:

“I give my head, my heart, and my life to my God and One nation indivisible with justice for all.”

Interestingly, one corner of the board is dedicated to hygiene. Among the things it says “My Rules To Keep Clean” with tips like “Take my bath often” and “Wash my teeth.”

All of these old techniques were seen by the Principal’s mother. This 85-year-old lady recognized some of the techniques and that brought good memories from her childhood. Her daughter says:

“She just stood there and cried. She said it was exactly like her classroom was when she was going to school.”

Even though these techniques and writings were done in 1917, Kishore’s mother might have still been using the same, some 10 years later.

The school and the city are negotiating and planning to preserve the boards for the future generations.

Pastor Urges Families to Make Surprise Visits to Nursing Homes After 80-Year-Old Mom Is Found Alone Slumped Over a Pillow

People turn to nursing homes when they have no other options left. These places are designed to help and provide the elderly people enough comfort, easy life, and constant health care. One won’t expect mistreating or negligence of the residents by the staff.

The story of Esther Brown, an 80-year old lady from Ohio gives a different picture about the nursing homes.

Esther was a patient in Altercare Nobles Pond in Canton. Her family’s pastor and her son James decided to visit her unannounced one day. What they saw was a total shock for the whole family.

When they got in the private rooms, they found Esther totally alone. This wouldn’t be strange if it wasn’t for her position. Her head was resting on a pillow on the desk and she was starting to choke on her own saliva. This unbelievable scene disturbed the family.

Julia Wiggins, the pastor, made two photos of Esther. She used these photos to convince the other families to check on their loved ones and see if they are in good hands. She also used the photos to show the world what’s really going on in the Altercare Nobles Pond.

Her Facebook post also explains that after the unexpected visit, Esther’s clothes were changed and she was moved into a private room.

Julia goes into details. The unannounced visit was intended to be a surprise for Esther, but the surprise was the other way around. According to Julia, when they entered the facility, they saw something weird in the nurses’ station. Believing that it was a cat, they ignored it for a moment.

However, when they got nearer, they saw Esther choking on her saliva. They started yelling and shouting, but for 10 minutes no one appeared in the station.

Esther recognized her son’s voice and that gave her strength to move a bit. They immediately started helping the lady.

This shocking event made these people call the other families to check on their beloved ones. And they did, as many families that night came to Altercare Nobles Pond.

Her post and photos ended up in the Ohio Department of Health and Ohio Department of Aging. Some of the workers tried to justify the situation by claiming that many dementia patients have enough strength, so ending up in a situation like that may not be surprising.

Nevertheless, the family filed a complaint against Altercare Nobles Pond. The investigation is ongoing.

The journey we call life is a never ending mixture of beautiful moments worth cherishing, as well as challenges and obstacles that stand on our way to happiness. We do our best to overcome the difficulties. Sometimes, we end up winners, but other times, the ordeals we have to go through and the battles we have to fight are simply too challenging to handle.

The life of U.S Marine Jason Shipmon and his wife Amanda resembled a fairy tale. The lovebirds met back in 2004, and it only took six weeks for them to be certain how they should spend their eternity together. During the ten years of marriage, the couple had to part several times because of Jason’s deployment, but that was the only time they were separated.

However, their ideal life was cut short after they learned the devastating news that Jason had cancer. This happened while Amanda was pregnant with their third child. The doctor’s prognosis were that he had only a few years left to live. However, neither Jason, nor Amanda ever lost hope. Thanks to all the love and encouragement, as well as the treatments involving radiation and chemotherapy, Jason could live past the prognosis.

WE KIND OF HAD PASSED THAT FIVE-YEAR MARK AND WERE JUST VERY HOPEFUL THAT MAYBE HE WAS THAT SMALL PERCENTAGE THAT IT WOULDN’T COME BACK,” AMANDA TOLD THE CASPER STAR TRIBUNE. “BUT WE ALWAYS KNEW THAT THE ODDS OF IT COMING BACK WERE VERY HIGH.

Sadly, the cancer returned, and the family was devastated.

Last night my sweet husband, the love of my life left this earth to go home. He fought so hard for so long for me and our precious boys.

My heart is broken, I feel lost. I look in the faces of our boys and my heart breaks even more, but I feel a little less lost. They are my why. They will give me a strength to carry on.

“A true love story never ends.” Truer words could not be spoken. We wrote a beautiful love story. He made me happier than I even knew I could be and the gift of his love is the greatest gift I have ever known. It will continue to comfort me and carry me on.

My boys will always have the gift of waking each morning having called this man “daddy” and knowing their dad was a hero in so many ways but especially to us.

His fight was good and he has finished his race.

Now we must continue on ours. One day at a time. One step at a time.

Jason was a brave man who did so much for his country. He fought many wars and battles, but he couldn’t win the one with the cancer. He will always be remembered as a loving father and a hero. Rest in peace.

Teacher forces 8-year-old to pee in class, makes him wear soiled clothes

People from all over the country are left outraged because of the shocking incident that took place at the Manhattan Place Elementary school. According to the Mongol family, their 8-year-old son was forced to urinate into the trash can, in the middle of the classroom, while his classmates were watching. This left the boy traumatized and an easy target for bullies.

We all agree how teachers don’t have it easy, and dealing with so many students and their wishes may be draining, but it can never be an excuse for such horrendous behavior towards this poor boy. At the end of the day, it’s teachers’ responsibility to find a way on how to deal with the students wanting to use the bathroom too often.

In the process, the boy soiled his pants and was made to cover himself in a plastic garbage bag. His family believes they are dealing with the teacher from Hell, and we agree how what this boy had to go through is unspeakable.

“My child did not deserve this — no child deserves to be treated this way,” mother Sonia Mongol said in tears.

The mother further explains how the incident took place after her son asked his teacher numerous times to be allowed to use the bathroom, to which he got no as an answer. After this, the teacher told him to pee into the garbage can.

“Why would you make a child expose himself in front of the classroom, and then put a garbage bag over him when he comes to you for help? Why would you treat a child that way?” mother Sonia said.

To make things worse, no one alerted the parents of their son’s ordeal and the boy had to stay covered in the garbage bag until the end of the school day.

Latricia Mitchell, a retired teacher, explains how sometimes students ask for a permission to use the bathroom without really feeling the need to do so. Instead, they see it as a way to get out of the classroom and take a short walk around the school’s halls. However, she says how she supports the parents and can’t believe how a teacher could treat a student that way. She fully supports the Mongol family.

“Sometimes we don’t allow the children to go to the bathroom because they go all the time,” she said. “But after they ask you twice, you should realize that something is going on.”

Sonia is worried that her son won’t easily forget this incident that is very likely to hunt him in the years to come.

We really hope that the boy’s family would be able to make this cruel teacher pay for what they did. At the time being, the incident is under investigation by the school authorities.

Texas teen complains of stomach ache at school, dies two hours later

Parents want nothing less than happiness and health for their kids. Even small kids’ problems make them worried and uneasy. When something really bad and serious happens to their kids, the pain is just too great.
Josh Gray’s parents experienced that. Their lives turned into nightmare in just few hours. The unexpected ruined their lives and visions for bright future.

Josh was 17 years old and a student at Dawson High School in Pearland, Texas. One day he felt a sharp pain in his stomach and he immediately went to see the doctor.

However, what was supposed to be a regular stomach ache, turned out to be something very serious with deadly outcome.

Josh didn’t win the battle.

In a period of just two hours since the moment he got into the doctor’s office, this healthy and young man suffered a deadly artery rapture. The artery was running to his pancreas and it was too late to stop the bleeding. Josh’s life ended very fast and too young.

“He went from going to school yesterday morning — normal day, happy — to having a stomach ache, to within two hours not being with us anymore.”

This tragedy hit his friends and schoolmates. The sudden and premature death touched almost everyone who knew Josh. Even though he and his friends were planning a trip, everyone participated in his memory.

His friends’ shock was evident. Some of their comments are:

“Josh loved everyone for who they were.” says his friend Austin, and he goes on:

“I’m loud and obnoxious; he loved that about me. I mean, he loved all of us for exactly who we were. And that was the best part about being with Josh; you could be you.”

In addition to that, his closest ones set up a fund rising page. So far they have collected more than $35.000. Part of the sum will be used to cover Josh funeral expenses, and the rest will be used to fund finding and curing rare underlying illnesses. The fund rising page says:

“It is with a heavy heart and in complete shock that the friends and family of Josh try and process his passing. The Gray family is always the first to intercede and offer support the second someone they love is in need. Well, now it’s our turn. While there is nothing that anyone can say or do to make this hurt any less, we would like to open this account for people to give anything they can so that this family has one less thing to think about during this time.”

This sudden death affected his family and friends greatly. To lose a perfectly normal healthy young man is a tragedy of enormous proportions. We can only imagine the pain and sorrow that his mother and father feel. Our prayers are with the family!

200 Amish men lift barn with bare hands and move it to new location

Utterly devoted to their technology-free lifestyle and their religious beliefs, the Amish community is really fascinating. These people do life the old-fashioned way and would avoid modern appliances at any cost. They travel by horses and carriages and mainly eat the food they grow themselves.

The Amish families are large and they live by the notion of being there for their relatives and their community. They are raised in the spirit of stepping in for their neighbor in need, even if it means moving his barn from one place to another bare hands.

If you think you read that wrong, well, you didn’t. A group of around 200 men gathered together to lift a whole barn from the ground to its new location. This is fascinating indeed. One may say how this could be easily done using huge trucks and rails and dollies, but the Amish would never rely on technology because they know how to solve any problem without it.

The amazing footage was taken at the Joseph Hochstetler’s Farm in Ohio.

Resembling a hardworking colony of ants, they lifted the object and relocated it around 150 feet away. These amazing men showed the world how nothing is impossible when a group of people joins forces.

The most impressive part of all is that this only took them a couple of minutes to finish.

Some may say how the Amish’s way of living could be facilitated if they are more open-minded towards the new inventions and the recent technologies. However, that goes against their religious beliefs, and to be honest, it looks like they don’t even need mobile phones, computers, or even electricity, because the way they live allows them to be more focused on one another and on the well-being of the whole community.

Judging people without even knowing them is very often rude and annoying. Even if we know the people with all their bad and good sides, we do not have the right to tell them how to live their live and what thing to do.

Giving advice is the thing we can do instead of judging their actions, no matter we agree with them or not. However, in order to give a piece of advice you have to know, or experience, the problems they are facing with.

Nevertheless, people do the opposite thing. They judge and give advice even when they don’t know the actual problem. This is happening to Kelly Dirkes on regular basis.

Kelly and her husband decided to adopt two kids with Down’s Syndrome. They try to provide to these two kids as much comfortable life as they can. However, people often put them in strange situations.

One situation like this was when Kelly was shopping in the store while carrying the kids in baby carrier. While she was looking for the products she needed, a woman stopped her and tried to give her a ‘free piece of advice’.

The woman told her that she should stop carrying them around in baby carrier because that will not make the kids independent. This shocked Kelly and left her speechless. With no words and frustrated, Kelly took her time and decided not to respond to the woman immediately.

Kelly answered the woman, and all other people who judge her, by writing a letter. Kelly wrote the letter when she got home. This powerful letter is fantastic.

“Dear Woman in Target-“it starts.

“I’ve heard it before, you know. That I “spoil that baby”. You were convinced that she’d never learn to be “independent”. I smiled at you, kissed her head, and continued my shopping.

If you only knew what I know.

If you only knew how she spent the first ten months of her life utterly alone inside a sterile metal crib, with nothing to comfort her other than sucking her fingers.

If you only knew what her face looked like the moment her orphanage caregiver handed her to me to cradle for the very first time–fleeting moments of serenity commingled with sheer terror. No one had ever held her that way before, and she had no idea what she was supposed to do.

If you only knew that she would lay in her crib after waking and never cry–because up until now, no one would respond.

If you only knew that anxiety was a standard part of her day, along with banging her head on her crib rails and rocking herself for sensory input and comfort.

If you only knew that that baby in the carrier is heartbreakingly “independent” –and how we will spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, and years trying to override the part of her brain that screams “trauma” and “not safe”.

If you only knew what I know.

If you only knew that that baby now whimpers when she’s put down instead of when she is picked up.

If you only knew that that baby “sings” at the top of her lungs in the mornings and after her nap, because she knows that her chatter will bring someone to lift her out of her crib and change her diaper.

If you only knew that that baby rocks to sleep in her Mama’s or her Papa’s arms instead of rocking herself.

If you only knew that that baby made everyone cry the day she reached out for comfort, totally unprompted.

If you only knew what I know.

“Spoiling that baby” is the most important job I will ever have, and it is a privilege. I will carry her for a little while longer–or as long as she’ll let me–because she is learning that she is safe. That she belongs. That she is loved.

You cannot judge people and tell them what to do if you have no idea what’s going on in their lives. You have to feel or experience the problems they are facing with, and even then, a simple piece of advice would be more than enough.

Judging people hurts, it makes them less self-confident. We do not want to do that, since everyone deserves to make decisions according to their believes of what’re the best actions to be taken.

Couple lives in oldest log cabin in America

In 1968, Harry and Doris Rink were in a search of a house for their family. Their mission was completed when they bought a log cabin in Greenwich Township in New Jersey. However, instead of buying just a regular house, the couple actually purchased a significant historical landmark. They got the oldest log cabin in the USA.

The cabin, named Nothnagle Log House, was built in 1640. The structure was expanded in 1730, and another reconstruction was done in 1900. This log house is mainly made of oak logs. What’s even more significant, the house is nearby Fort Billings, the famous Revolutionary War landmark. The records now show that the house is the oldest log cabin in the country and it’s older than the county itself.

Today the Rinks enjoy their lives in this unique place. They do not hesitate to organize visiting tours around the property and show to the people the value of this fascinating place. Nevertheless, since they are old, Harry being 88 and Doris 75 years old, the owners of the log started thinking about the future of the cabin after their death.

The Risks started looking for the perfect buyer of the log cabin. Having in mind the important historic value of the house, they have some additional conditions for the future purchaser. The couple hopes that the future owner of the log cabin should take care of the whole property and keep the authenticity of the log cabin.

In the meantime, the couple keeps organizing visiting tours. Every year thousands of people come and see the house. They can see how was people’s life 300 years ago. They see rare everyday objects and living areas equipped with unique furniture.

The house is estimated at a price of $2.9 million. However, the future purchaser might give more than 2.9 million because this price does not include the artefacts of the house. As Christina Huang, a local realtor, says:

“Because of all the artefacts and antiques that come with the house, it is probably worth well over $2.9 million.”

That’s quite true. The artefacts of the house are mostly from 17^th and 18^th century. These pieces of furniture, like chairs, tables or chests, are very rare and provide excellent opportunity to see old way of living.

Additionally, the house contains some valuable and rare household items. There are some rare and old dishware, plates, hats and bottles. The couple finds artefacts on the property on regular basis. Regarding this, Doris explains:

“A lot of things that were buried many years ago have wound up turning up in the yard. Every single item in the cabin is an artefact or antique. There is nothing else out there like this place.”

The Rinks want to preserve the unique architecture and the true historic layout of the log cabin. They maintain the house for years in order to keep the original look of the cabin.

In order to keep the authenticity of the house, they use authentic building techniques. They use clay and mud as building materials. They also fix the cracks in the log. The house has given them a rare opportunity to feel the
18^th century lifestyle.

Doris explains:

“Knowing the history of their day-to-day survival really makes me grateful that we have the life that we have now. I think our visitors take a step back in time when they enter our house. When they take a step in here, it’s like they’re in a different world. They block out everything else that’s going on in their lives.”

Proud dad receives amazing surprise from stranger

Being a parent means sacrificing a lot for the well-being of your children. But once you see how they turn into noble and successful people, you realize that it’s all worth it. Their accomplishments, such as graduating from high school or college, make you proud.

Rob Edwards was over the moon because of his son’s graduation. This event made him so happy that he felt the urge to share the good news with those around him, and that included one perfect stranger who made an impact in his life.

Only a couple of days before Cole’s graduation ceremony took place, Rob headed to the local bank to get some money, and that’s when he saw this lady who was about to enter the place. Rob offered her his spot at the queue saying, “By all means go in front of me. Today my son graduates. I’m slowing down and want to savor every minute.”

As they were both waiting in line, they started talking about their children and how challenging it was to have a teenager under the roof. Their conversation was interrupted by the bank’s clerk who asked the lady to take her turn. Once she left the place, Rob got near the counter and reached for his wallet when he noticed an envelope inside his pocket. This was a bit strange because he knew that piece of paper wasn’t there before.

Once he got his business at the bank done, he was eager to see what that tiny envelope held inside. After he opened it, he felt completely shocked and puzzled. There was a $50 bill inside. Rob knew it was the lady he spoke to who put the money in his pocket. But what he didn’t know was why she did it. He decided to get to her and ask her why would she be so generous to someone she just met.

When he got out of the bank, the lady was still in her car so he rushed to her and told her how he couldn’t accept the money, to which she replied:

“When you talk about your boy, YOU GLOW. You’re a blessing to him, I want to bless him, too!”

Her words touched Rob to the core. He realized how his son was the best thing that had happened to him. He was very proud of him and was happy others could see it.

“I don’t know her name; I’ve never seen her before. But I will never forget her love,” the dad declared. “I asked to take a picture with her. And hugged her neck.”
“We need more of this in the world today. Not the money. But kindness. I hugged a complete stranger today. My son who I love with all my heart was shown love. Many of you who know me know what I believe in. Sounds kinda familiar don’t it. It warms the father’s heart to love the son. I am blessed.”

Cole is very lucky to be having a loving father like Rob who appreciates the kindness other people show to him. By sharing the story about that lady from the bank he sends a message that an act of kindness really goes a long way and even makes huge impact in people’s lives.

You may either love it or hate it, but no one who’s ever seen it or heard of it is indifferent towards what we believe is a real masterpiece in the world of music and film. Wonder what we are talking about? The musical that teaches us that no dream is too big to be fulfilled. If your first thought is The Greatest Showman, than you are guessing right. Hugh Jackman portrays the role of P.T. Barnum, a visionary who started from scratch and ended up on the top, presenting to the world The Greatest Show. This man put no effort in wiping out the line that stands between reality and fantasy. Thirsty for innovation and willing to give people a bit of the magic he had in himself, he made his Barnum & Bailey Circus a synonym for fun and unforgettable spectacles.

Despite the casts’ incredible acting that added to the uniqueness of this piece of musical, the numerous names from the music industry who filled the role of the music performers captivated the audience’s attention. Soon after the movie was released, the songs of the soundtrack were sang by many other musicians and amateurs, and were performed during talent shows, and many school performances. One of them, however, stole our hearts. Five young boys took the stage and let their stunning vocals loose while the melody of “A Million Dreams” filled the air.

It takes a lot of self-confidence in order to performed this song the way these boys do it. It’s amazing how they resemble the original so much and it’s apparent they’ve spent numerous hours practicing, but the final result is definitely worth it. Their age didn’t stop them from delivering a breathtaking show while doing justice to the grace and awe of the melody.

No stage fright, just a group of young kids with out-of-this-world musical talent.

The sweet voices blend in a perfect harmony. Looking at them and listening to what they had to offer is simply inspiring. Their parents have to be really proud of their boys’ skills and achievement. Following P.T. Barnum’s example, they showed everyone around how no task is too challenging if you put your heart in its execution.

Man stands with sign for hours to find lost dog’s owner

Even though there are a lot of people who would just turn their head on the other side when they see an animal out on the street all alone and scared, there are those individuals like Jason Gasparik who’d do anything in their power to help the confused creature.

On March 1, as this guy was walking by the post office in Charlotte, he took a notice of a chocolate Labrador who was obviously frightened and needed a helping hand. Without having any second thoughts, Gasparik took it home and was determined to track the dog’s owner down. The Lab was in a good shape so he assumed whoever owned her was probably losing their mind over where their pet could be.

Gasparik took it to social media to ask whether someone could recognize this sweet chocolate Lab, but to no avail. He then got this idea of taking her to a vet’s and see whether she was micro-chipped. When the vet told Gasparik she was, he immediately called the number. But as it turned out, he got to speak to a breeder from Pennsylvania who sold the dog to someone in Charlotte years ago. That meant the search wasn’t owner yet.

The guy then decided to do things the old-fashioned way. He printed a bunch of flyers with Roxy’s picture asking whether someone knew her. As he didn’t get any calls, he and Roxy waited at the busiest street corner hoping her owner would just pop out and take her home.

It turned out Gasparik’s flyers were the right thing to do as they helped reach Roxy’s owner Sam. The man was driving around asking people whether they have seen a chocolate Lab when a woman told him how she has noticed a flyer of a dog matching the description.

Roxy’s real name was Indy and she was finally reunited with her family. As for Gasparik, he grew so fond of the dog that he offered to take her on regular walks. He also updated her microchip information.

Gasparik is indeed the best fellow ever. This world definitely needs more people like him.

Morgan Freeman has converted his 124 acre ranch into a giant sanctuary to help save the bee population

Apparently, science stands behind the love and affection we all have for our favorite Hollywood man, magnificent Morgan Freeman. Despite his unbeatable acting skills, this filmmaker’s voice is what makes us fall for him any time he appears on the screen. According to some scientists, the deepness of his vocal gives people impression of integrity, competence and physical power.

This time, he’s stealing our hearts and attention with his new hobby. As it turns out, Freeman became a beekeeper and we can’t be more glad. This speaks a lot about him as a person concerned for the well-being of our planet who is willing to turn his pretty huge ranch into a bee sanctuary. He believes how this decision would contribute to the process of reviving the bee population.

The importance of the bees for us as humans and for the planet is immense. They help provide large portions of the food we consume on a daily basis and have a great role in the balance of the ecosystem.
Bees are responsible for pollinating about one-sixth of the flowering plant species worldwide and approximately 400 different agricultural types of plant. This means that without them, at least one-third of the food we eat will no longer be available and our plates would look totally different.

The sad and pretty much concerning reality is that the number of bees is decreasing steadily.

Jodi Monelle, the founder and the CEO of LIVEKINDLY says how “The National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) states that “Researchers are calling the mass disappearance ‘Colony Collapse Disorder’” and that “The number of hives in the United States is now at its lowest point in the past 50 years. Whilst researchers are still theorizing the main cause of colony collapses, it is widely recognized that environmental damage is having a hugely negative impact on their (very delicate) ecosystem.”

Besides the highly nutritious honey they provide us with, bees are extremely important factor when it comes to feeding other living organisms, which means that without them, the planet will lose birds, mice, squirrels, and other animals.

It is why projects as that of Morgan Freeman are essential for helping keep the bees alive. He first spoke of this new hobby of his during Jimmy Fallon’s show back in 2014. He talked what it feels like to be around these precious pollinators and how skillful he’s become around them. His Mississippi ranch of 124-acre is now a bee paradise full of fruit trees, clover, magnolia trees, and lavender.

He started all this by importing 26 hives full of bees from Arkansas that he fed sugar water.

This is what he had to say:

“There is a concerted effort for bringing bees back onto the planet…We do not realize that they are the foundation, I think, of the growth of the planet, the vegetation…I have a lot of flowering things, and I have a gardener too.

“As she takes care of the bees too, all she does is figure out, ‘OK, what would they like to have?’, so we have got acres and acres of clover, and we have some planting stuff like lavender, I have got like, maybe 140 magnolia trees, big blossoms.”

“I have not ever used the beekeeping hat with my bees. They haven’t stung me yet, as right now I am not trying to harvest honey or anything, but I just feed them…I also think that they understand, ‘Hey, don’t bother this guy, he’s got sugar water here.”

Although what individuals like Morgan Freeman do for the sake of preserving as much bees as possible is extraordinary, it’s up to each and every one of us to finally start appreciating the hard work of these tiny insects and do our best to provide them with conditions for completing their mission, and that’s keeping the environment and people alive.

Drag queen performs ‘Baby Shark’ for toddler at drag brunch

Undoubtedly, ‘Baby Shark’ is one of the most popular kid’s song of all times. The song has been played and sang by many, including adults and kids. The catchy rhythm and the simple lyrics make the song addictive.

The song’s popularity is enormous. ‘Baby Shark’ can be found on all children’s TV programmes, YouTube channels and it was even on the Billboard Hot 100.

However, you have never witnessed the song being performed during a brunch! What’s even more unusual, the song is performed by a drag queen!

Admit it, a combination that cannot be seen every day!

The restaurant Talde in Jersey City is the location where this performance happened. Parents took their toddlers for brunch in order to spend some quality time together. And, they did!

The restaurant Talde is the working place of the drag queen Marti Gould Cummings. He prepared quite a show for the kids. He explains:

“We decided to do a ‘drag roulette,’ where the audience picks a bunch of songs for us to perform at random,” Cummings explained. “I asked the little boy what he wanted to see performed and he asked for ‘Baby Shark.’ The DJ quickly found the song online, and we added it to the playlist for him.”

Everyone had a great time. Almost all of the guests clasped and the kids were more than happy to hear their favourite song in live. The ordinary day turned out to be a show to remember.

A video recording was uploaded on the Internet of this unexpected show. With more than 650,000 views, the show is obviously very amusing even for the people who weren’t present in the restaurant.

“So many people have responded to the video with so much love,” said Cummings. “The internet can be such a toilet for negative, toxic behavior and misinformation, so it feels incredible to be part of this one moment that is using the internet to spread so much love and joy.”

As it is expected, some people do not agree with bringing kids to a show of that type. To this, Cummings says:

“Anyone who thinks drag isn’t for children is wrong,” Cummings said. “Drag is expression, and children are such judgment-free beings; they don’t really care what you’re wearing, just what you’re performing.”

He also adds:

“It would be nice if us adults could let the child inside of us out for a little bit, so maybe we could all be a little more accepting of others ourselves.”

Video: Heartwarming moment little girl sings sweet song to her great-grandmother

It has been scientifically proven how spending more time around the grandchildren results in increased life span of the grandmas and grandpas. This is something the parents of little Sophie know all too well and they make sure their little one spends some quality time with the elderly family members.

Sweet Sophie first met her great-grandma back in 2015 and the two became practically inseparable ever since. Her mom and dad weren’t really sure how both their daughter and the great-granny would react when they see each other for the first time because the old lady suffered from dementia. But it turned out, introducing them to one another was the best thing they could do.

Since then, Sophie visited her great-grandma who lived in Lowestoft, United Kingdom, numerous time and they had so much fun together that the videos of their unique encounters were shared with the whole world.

The moment Sophie saw the sweet lady, she got closer and started singing to her while the two snuggled into each other. The air in the room was filled with the lovely voice and the lyrics of the song “You Are My Sunshine.” This really was a moment to cherish and to remember.

“Sophie 1st visit to her great nana ( who has suffered dementia) and grandad,” Miller wrotein August 2015. “We were worried what her reaction would be but what happen next surprised us.”

Yvonne Miller, Sophie’s grandma, was the one taking the videos they later shared on the social media. People who got to see them agree how this is the right way of raising a child, by teaching them how to love and respect the elderly.

Unfortunately, the great-grandma passed in October, 2017, but the videos are there to remind little Sophie of the special place this lady had in her heart and in her life while growing up.

“Am sad to say that our Mam/nana and great-nana has passed away yesterday morning,” Yvonne Miller wrote in the caption on Oct. 11, 2017.

“My heart breaks that we only missed her passing by a few minutes but I think that’s what she wanted.”

“She suffered with dementia the last couple of years. She now can rest in peace. She taught me so much on how to be a good mother and now a good nana,” Miller wrote.

“She was a strong women in every way and I looked up to her so much. Her quirky personality will live through us all and she will be missed by all her family and everyone that knew and loved her ❤❤❤.”

We are certain that the last days of this great-grandma’s life were filled with happiness. At least she knew she was loved and cared for thanks to the girl with a big heart and her family who taught her to respect her grandparents.

Brantley School District is located in one of the poorest counties of Georgia. This means the school and the students struggle with the shortage of finances and resources for proper functioning. The school motto ‘Reach every student, every day’ is tightly connected to the school’s difficult situation.

The message of the school reached Ashlyn and Brent, a married local couple. They live near the school and that allows them to do something for the kids and the school itself. She travels to the school on regular basis and tries to make a difference for the children.

The poor living condition of the kids is a major problem and it motivated Ashlyn’s actions. Furthermore, the insufficient funding of the school is a major problem for proper functioning of the institution and achieving the desirable results. Luckily, besides Ashlyn and her husband, Ellen’s done something that may help the school to widespread their message across the nation.

Materialism is not the only thing that the students need. The goal or the plan is to make every student feel special. Furthermore, promoting the students’ values and their capabilities and skills is another thing this couple is fighting for. They need to know that someone does care for them. The teachers of the school add that they want to follow Angel Scwindt’s quote:
