Conjoined twin babies ‘locked in an embrace’ are successfully separated after an 11-hour surgery

Phil and Alyson Irwin, already parents of daughter Kennedy, were overjoyed to welcome their twin babies into the world and make their family complete, despite the fears of the uncertainty of how things would turn for the bundles of joy who were conjoined and shared a liver.

Sarabeth and Amelia were born on June 11, 2019. Despite being conjoined, the fact that they had separate digestive tracts and separate pairs of arms and legs gave doctors hopes that the sisters could be separated in the months to come.

“They [the doctors] were able to tell that the hearts were very, very close, but they were separate. That was the deciding factor for a lot of people. That they had separate hearts, it was a possibility,” the mother said.

The separation surgery was initially scheduled for February 2020, but the girls fell ill at the time and it was postponed for later. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, doctors couldn’t perform the so much-expected operation until August 2020. Speaking of the waiting period, dad Phil said, “We had a lot of really good family time together. We got to watch the girls grow and get so strong and so healthy that it made me feel really, really good leading up to the second scheduling of their surgery.”

The parents couldn’t wait to hold their girls separately and see them sleep in separate beds.

The doctors at the Michigan Medicine C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital made the Irwin’s family wish come true. A team of more than two dozen doctors, nurses and other specialists who spent months preparing for the complex procedure successfully separated the one-year-old sisters.

“For everyone in the room, it was a very emotional and extraordinary moment when the last incision was made to separate these girls from one to two,” George Mychaliska, M.D., pediatric and fetal surgeon at Mott told Michigan Health.

“This was a monumental team effort that involved virtually every clinical department here and a group that was incredibly committed to collaborating in the most innovative way.”

Dr. Marcie Treadwell, director of Michigan Medicine’s Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Center explained that just 1 in 100,000 to 1 in 250,000 pregnancies involve conjoined twins which makes these pregnancies rare. But what is ever rarer is the survival delivery and the survival rate. Thankfully, sweet Sarabeth and Amelia beat the odds and are now happy and healthy.

The parents say that those who don’t know the girls’ story have a hard time believing that they were once conjoined.

After the successful operation, Sarabeth and Amelia are thriving and let their characters, which are totally different from one another, shine.

“Amelia is a little bit of a princess or a diva,” Phil said. “She wears all of her emotions right on her sleeve. There’s no hiding how Amelia feels… Now that they’re separate, it’s so funny to see Sarabeth’s quirky personality…just physically, emotionally and mentally, how goofy that little girl really is.”

The family can’t be happier. Speaking to Detroit Free Press, Phil said, “This has been a giant experiment in the power of positive and the power of prayer. You know? … Positive news, people need that. People live on that.”

Detroit students step in for deceased homeless veterans and carry their caskets to grave

Young people are often criticized by the society for being careless. However, many youngsters are doing all in their power to fight against this belief and tend to show the world that despite their age, they can be valuable part of the place where they live.

A group of students from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School are doing something truly incredible for those who sacrificed their lives for the well-being of the country, the veterans who put their personal desires and dreams on hold in order to be part of the military and keep America safe.

The sad thing about many of these brave people is that they have a hard time getting used to the life back home after their service is over. Some suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and others struggle to find a normal job and even end up homeless.

When they pass away, many have no one to even carry their caskets or organize their funerals. That’s when the Detroit students come into the picture. These incredibly caring young people serve as pallbearers at funeral services for the homeless under a service project at their school.

That is a truly nice way to pay the real-life heroes the tribute they deserve for everything they did for the country.

Take a look at the whole story in the video below and share it with your family and friends because these young men deserve all the praise.

The life of actress Frances Bavier before and after playing the iconic role of “Aunt Bee” on The Andy Griffith Show

Who doesn’t remember dear Aunt Bee who was well known for her incredible cooking skills and delicious home-made meals everyone in the fictional town of Mayberry loved? Portrayed by incredible actress Frances Bavier, Aunt Bee, the aunt of sheriff Andy Taylor played by Andy Griffith became a symbol of home and security, and the show, The Andy Griffith Show, promoted the strict, moral code of the 1950s and 1960s.

Contrary to the character she played in the famous series, Bavier was described by her colleagues as somewhat rude and as someone who didn’t like the language used behind the scenes and the jokes made by the rest of the acting crew. Some even say that she hated the role of the famous aunt which earned her an Emmy Award because it lead for her to lose her identity and made her feel like she was trapped in the character.

Wikipedia Commons / CBS

In an interview with Bill Ballard, Baviar was reported saying, “It is very difficult for an actress … to create a role and to be so identified that you as a person no longer exist and all the recognition you get is for a part that is created on the screen.”

Despite this, she also confessed that she was flattered when people recognized her from the show.

Back in 1961, she told The Charlotte News, “Whenever I feel lonely out here, I just go out shopping in a supermarket. Somebody will always look at me, smile and say, ‘Why hello, you’re Aunt Bee.”

“[She] was a rather remote lady. Highly professional and a fine comedienne, fine actress with very individual character. She was rather self-contained and was not part of the general hi-jinks that centered upon Andy on the set,” producer Sheldon Leonard said in The Andy Griffith Show Book.

Bavier didn’t always know that she wanted to become an actress.

In fact, she dreamed of becoming a teacher one day so she enrolled at the Columbia University. However, not long after that, she realized that she was very bad there and that teaching wasn’t her calling. Instead, she enrolled at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, according to The Charlotte News. She graduated in 1925 and was part of the Broadway production of ”On Borrowed Time.” Bavier had her television debut after the war was over in the crime drama series “Racket Squad” which aired in 1952.

She didn’t speak of her private life a lot but there were speculations that she was married from 1928 to 1933 to a military man named Russel Carpenter.

Although no one can confirm this to be true, according to CloserWeekly, Bavier did speak of her marriage in a 1964 interview with the Star-Gazette of Elmira, New York. “I married a man who was charming in every way, except that, being non-professional, he had little patience with my dedication to acting. I wanted to be both wife and actress, but learned quickly that this is impossible, at least in my specific case. To paraphrase Shakespeare, it was not that I loved him less, but I loved acting more. I know that many psychologists, particularly women psychologists, hold that a woman can have both a home and a career. But that is generally not the husband’s point of view and I sympathize entirely with the man who wants his wife to be completely devoted to him and their children,” she was reported to had said.

Screenshot

Bravier, who was born in Manhattan, New York, in 1902, found it a bit hard to settle down in the small and quiet town of Siler City, North Carolina. She believed her neighbors described her as “a 70-year-old lady that probably wants to be alone and they’re having a problem with trying to be friendly and show their friendliness, and at the same time not intrude. That makes it very difficult for them. Living here has been a difficult adjustment for me. I have a great deal to learn from Siler City and North Carolina. It’s an entirely different and new way of life.”

Bravier passed away in 1989, just eight days before her 87th birthday. Four months before her death, she called Andy Griffith and “apologized for being difficult on the set of the show,” the actor said in an interview with Larry King Live in 1998.

Barvier left her money to the local police community and her estate was donated to a hospital foundation and that speaks of her heart of gold.

She will always be remembered as someone who made our days fun with her impressive acting skills and the iconic role of Aunt Bee.

U.S. Marshals arrest 262 suspects and save five children during rescue mission in Oklahoma

The mission under which “Operation Not Forgotten” and “Operation Safety Net” took place, during which U.S. Marshals rescued 40 and 25 children respectively, already or potential victims of sex trafficking, in Georgia and Ohio, continued with “Operation Triple Beam” in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Like the first two, this operation was a huge success as 262 suspects have been arrested and five children have been rescued.

Johnny Kuhlman, U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Oklahoma, said: “Operation Triple Beam OKC was a targeted enforcement initiative by the Marshals and their partners to address violent crime in and around Oklahoma City.

“Our primary goal with operations like OTB is to make communities safer. When we arrest these violent fugitives, we are also removing guns and narcotics from our streets. We believe these efforts have an immediate, positive impact on the communities we serve.”

141 of the suspects were confirmed gang members.

Similar operations are currently undergoing in other cities and countries across the state as brave U.S. Marshals fight against the crime and save innocent children, victims of sex trafficking, from the hands of the gangs and the criminals.

Speaking of the last month’s operation, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a statement, “When we track down fugitives, it’s a good feeling to know that we’re putting the bad guy behind bars. But that sense of accomplishment is nothing compared to finding a missing child.”

“It’s hard to put into words what we feel when we rescue a missing child, but I can tell you that this operation has impacted every single one of us out here. We are working to protect them and get them the help they need.”

The U.S. Marshals are working around the clock and we are very thankful for everything they do for all those missing children who live in fear for their life and safety every single day. These brave people and their successful missions are a ray of sunshine for the American citizens during these hard days for the entire world.

Firefighter killed battling El Dorado fire identified as 39-year-old Charles Morton

The El Dorado fire that erupted on 5th of September near Oak Glen and west Yucaipa in San Bernardino County during a gender reveal party has burned 22,500 acres in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. As of Monday, around 60% had been contained, but it still threatens thousands of homes and many areas are under evacuation orders.

The video of the gender reveal party revealed the cause was a smoke-generating pyrotechnic device. The people organizing the party have been identified and are reported to be cooperating with the fire investigators. If a case is opened, the person who ignited the pyrotechnic would be the person charged, according to CalFire investigator Capt. Bennet Milloy.

Sadly, one firefighter lost his life and thirteen were injured. The firefighter has been identified as Charles Morton, 39. He was a Big Bear Interagency Hotshot squad boss who had been with the Forest Service for 14 years.

Morton was respected by many and left behind a wife, daughter, his parents, and two brothers.

“Charlie was a well-respected leader who was always there for his squad and his crew at the toughest times,” Vicki Christiansen, U.S. Forest Service chief, said in a statement.

“Our hearts go out to Charlie’s loved ones, co-workers, friends and the Big Bear Hotshots. We will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.”

“He’s loved and will be missed,” his family said in a statement provided by the Forest Service. “May he rest easy in heaven with his baby boy.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with the funeral expenses. “Charlie was a selfless man and he gave so much to his family, friends, and community,” the page read. “Charlie had big dreams and we would like to continue to fulfill those dreams for him.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Morton family and all the firefighters who are putting their lives on the line.

16-year-old boy left with a fractured skull and severe brain injury after being beaten by a bully at school

The life of 16-year-old Neo Hobbs was changed forever after a bully hurt him so badly that he ended up in coma.

Neo was having a hard time coping with the bullying he endured at school and he even told his mother about it, but the school took things lightly and didn’t do anything to prevent the incident.

Sandra, Neo’s mother, recalls how she told Neo to ignore the bully’s harsh words to what her son responded, “I am, mom. The best I can.” He was scared to reveal the bully’s name because he believed it would make things even worse than they already were.

One day, Sandra got a call from Neo’s school and was told how he was injured and taken to hospital. “All I know is, he was hit,” she told Fox 13 News speaking of the day Neo was beaten violently.

Neo experienced severe trauma on the skull and internal bleeding. He had a brain surgery and spent 12 days in coma in the ICU at Primary Children’s Hospital before being moved to the trauma unit. Today, “he has to have a lot of physical therapy. He has to learn how to walk, talk, brush his teeth, and feed himself. He has to learn all that over again,” his devastated mother said.

Source: GoFundMe.com

The family is angry at the school for trying to cover up the incident.

The Elko High School’s district superintendent tries to present the incident as a confrontation between the students. They refuse to admit that Neo was a victim of bullying and say he “just fell from the punch.” However, the impact and the injuries say otherwise. Doctors are convinced Neo was hit with a heavy object. “You send them to school, and you shouldn’t have to worry about your kids going to school. Especially about something like this,” Sandra said.

Neo’s aunt started a GoFundMe page to help the family with the hospital bills and Neo’s recovery which would take a lot of time and money.

We hope no other kid will ever have to go through what Neo and his family did. Bullying is a serious problem that not many schools take as such.

Currently, authorities are looking into the matter. Hopefully, the boy responsible for Neo’s suffering would be punished for what he did.

6-year-old was saving up to get a puppy, but then his grandparents asked him to close his eyes and stretch his hands

Letting your kids grow up around a pet is the best thing you can ever do for them. Cats and dogs teach young children how to be responsible from early age and make awesome friends.

A 6-year-old boy named Xander Mellor from Springfield, Illinois, has always wanted a puppy as a companion, so he made his mission to save enough money to buy the much wanted friend. His mom said how he would wait for her to get home each day and ask for her spare change to put in his saving jar for nearly 18 months.

Xander even stopped buying sweets in order to save the money as fast as he could.

YouTube

But then, his grandparents learned what he was up to and just how much he wanted a puppy, so they decided to make his wish come true.

One day, they arrived at Xander’s house and the moment he saw them he rushed outside to greet them with hugs and kisses. His grandma then told him that they had a gift for him and asked him to close his eyes and stretch his hands. Little did Xander know that he was about to embrace the cutest little pup out there.

We know Xander and his furry-pal will have great time together in the days and years to come.

Queenslander buys her first home at just 19 by working at McDonald’s and saving every cent

Some people work a lifetime in order to afford a home they can call their own. So how did a 19-year-old from Australia managed to buy a house working at McDonald’s? This is the inspiring story of Madison Pickering.

This young lady has always dreamed of purchasing her own place, and now that she did, no one believes her she saved the money all by herself and didn’t take a cent from her mom and dad. Not only her friends and people from her surrounding thought she was crazy when she said she wanted to buy a house, but the real estate agents and bank managers too, so her first attempt to get finance approval failed. That, however, didn’t stop Madison from working even harder and trying again.

YouTube

According to her, she started working at McDonald’s the moment she turned 14 and saved every penny that she could. After finishing high school a year early, she was accepted into university, but she decided to accept a full-time job as an online media manager in order to save more money and made her wish of becoming a homeowner true.

Eventually, Madison could turn to the bank again and was offered a loan for a $300,000 house and land package.

YouTube

So how did she do it? Well, having saved up $30,000 on her own, this bright lady got some help from the government as well. She says she was eligible for Queensland’s $15,000 first homeowners grant, and additional $25,000 from the federal government who are offering this sum of money in order to boost the construction sector during the pandemic.

“I had enough for a deposit, and that’s all that matters. And I think younger people who are watching and wanting to do what I’ve done need to understand, you don’t need to have the final price. You just need to have really good deposit,” Madison told Channel Nine’s A Current Affair program.

YouTube

At the moment, Madison’s house is under construction and is located in Logan’s Pebble Creek Estate, 50km south of Brisbane. We hope she will get to enjoy it and furnish it the way she likes very soon.

Georgia Holt, Cher’s mother, looks stunning at 94

“Dear Mom, Love Cher” is a documentary from 2013 that features the life of Georgia Holt, an American singer, actress, a former model and mother of pop queen Cher. The film was a result of Cher’s love and appreciation for the woman who has always been by her side and helped her be the woman that she is today.

Georgia Holt, born Jackie Jean Crouch on June 9, 1926 in Kensett, Arkansas, has been married six times during her lifetime.

Her mother had her when she was just 13 years old and Georgia spent most of her childhood with her father who took her to nightclubs where she performed. She remembers her dad, Roy, as a caring father who wanted only the best for her. In hopes of a better life, Georgina and Roy moved to L.A. She changed a number of high school and recalls being the poorest kid in each of them. “I was the only poor kid in the school, and I was already insecure. But my voice saved me because I sang in school, and I was real popular because of my voice,” she said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune.

When she was 17, Georgia moved to California and started working at a donut shop where she met her first husband and Cher’s father, John Sarkisian. He was “a good talker and could talk anyone into anything,” so it wasn’t hard for him to make Georgia agree into marrying him.

It wasn’t long until Georgia got back to her mother telling her she was pregnant and asking to stay with her. Her mom agreed to let her in but told her she had to abort the baby. Georgia didn’t like the idea so she moved back in with John again.

Cherilyn “Cher” Sarkisian was born on May 20. 1946 in El Centro, California.

In 1950, the mother and daughter moved to L.A. without John and it was then that Georgia got her first movie roll in an episode of the TV series ‘The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet’.

Georgia’s second husband, Chris Alcaide, was very much in love with her, but he was a jealous man, so just 20 minutes after she said “I do,” Georgia said “I don’t.”

When Georgia auditioned for the movie The Asphalt Jungle, she believed getting the role would help her with her big breakthrough, but producers decided to give it to another Jean; Norma Jean Baker aka Marilyn Monroe.

After she experienced the disappointment of not getting any work in the movie, Georgina married her third husband and father of her second daughter Georganne Elizabeth, John Southall. He was a loving man who was nasty when drinking, so once again, Georgina found herself alone and now with two kids to raise on her own. Sadly, that meant getting back to working double shifts.

After she divorced her fourth husband, Gilbert Hartmann LaPiere, who adopted both her daughters, Georgina married Cher’s father John again, and the marriage lasted for a year. Her sixth husband was Hamilton T. Holt whom she married in 1970 and divorced four years latter.

Today, Georgina is in a relationship with Craig Spencer who is 21 years her junior. “I knew deep inside he was a good person, but I thought he was interested in me just so he could tell people he went to bed with Cher’s mother,” she told People. But it turned out that wasn’t the case as the two have been together for 44 years.

Georgina Holt is 94 today and looks as beautiful as always, so it’s obvious who her daughter Cher inherited the good looks from. This incredible mother and woman sacrificed a lot for her girls to turn into happy and successful individuals. Her dreams of making a name for herself in the film industry didn’t really come true in the way she has always imagined it, but she’s happy that her daughter became one of the most famous female singers in the history.

“And I don’t think I would have been as good as she is. I don’t think I was equipped, strength-wise, to do it,” she said.

Cher never misses the chance to praise her mother and thank her for everything she has done for her and her sister.

16-year-old from Canada sounds exactly like Elvis Presley and people are going crazy over his voice

Some people are so charming that we can’t help but love them. 16-year-old David Thibault from Quebec, Canada, is one of them. This teen isn’t just humble and good-looking, but he’s a music sensation as well. I guess the world first heard of him after he appeared in an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show and was introduced as someone who sounds exactly like the King of Rock and Roll, legendary Elvis Presley.

To be honest, I personally expected for some resemblance, but thought it was probably an exaggeration as we all know Elvis is one and only, but the moment I heard him singing, I was in total disbelief. If you listen to him with your eyes closed, you will definitely think it is a recording from the King himself.

Ellen learned of David when a video of him singing ‘Blue Christmas’ at a radio station, which reached over eight million views, was posted on YouTube, and she had to invite him over and hear him perform in person.

David explained how he inherited the love for music and Elvis’ songs from his granddad. He sang the same song again and got amazing gifts from the host. To learn how she surprised him and to hear his incredible voice, go to the video below.

A pregnant woman saw a man smiling at her on the bus – After changing the seats several times she called the cops.

The following has to be the most hilarious story ever.

“A lady about 8 months pregnant got on a bus. She noticed a man opposite her was smiling at her. She immediately moved to another seat. This time the man’s smile turned into a grin, so she move again. The man seemed more amused. When she moved for the fourth time, the man burst out laughing, she complained to the driver and he had the man arrested.

“The case came up in court. The judge asked the man, (about 20 years old), what he had to say for himself. The man replied, “Well your Honor, it was like this: When the lady got on the bus, I couldn’t help but notice her condition.

“She sat under a sweets sign that said, THE DOUBLEMINT TWINS ARE COMING, and I grinned.

“Then she moved and sat under a sign that said, LOGAN’S LINIMENT WILL REDUCE THE SWELLING, I had to smile.

“Then she placed herself under a deodorant sign than said, WILLIAMS BIG STICK DID THE TRICK, I could hardly contain myself.

“But, your Honor, when she moved the fourth time and sat under a sign that said, GOODYEAR RUBBER COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS ACCIDENT, I just lost it.

The case was dismissed.”

Willie Nelson speaks of his love life and his infidelities: “My wandering ways were too much”

When it comes to celebrities, one thing is certain, their lives are everything but ordinary, and the life story of living legend Willie Nelson is just the perfect example of that.

This incredible man has been making our lives a bit better since the 60’s when he started writing songs that turned huge hits for famous names like Ray Price, Patsy Cline and Billy Walker. By 1975, Nelson was already a star himself and did what no one has done it before; he created music mixing a variety of styles, including traditional pop, Western swing, jazz, traditional country, cowboy songs, honky tonk, rock & roll, folk, and the blues. The final result was a huge number of fans and everlasting hits.

Wikipedia Commons / Auld Rasmie

Nelson was first introduced to music and instruments when was still very young. In fact, he has written his first song at the age of just 7 and by the age of 13, he performed with Bob Wills, the inventor of Western swing music. He and his sister Bobbie, who plays in his band, were raised by their grandparents, Alfred and Nancy Nelson, who both studied music courses. Nelson picked the guitar and never let it go, not even today at the age of 87.

Shutterstock

His personal life was surrounded by controversies as he has been married four times and has 7 children.

In the book he wrote, “Me and Sister Bobbie,” he blamed his “roving eye” for the mess he created with the wives in his life. There, he spoke of his first wife, Martha Matthews, whom he was married to for 10 years, and who was reported to be very violent to him. He also shared how his second wife, Shirley Collie, learned he was having a baby with another woman. Apparently, she found a medical bill for the birth of a baby girl and confronted him. “I tried to play it off as no big deal,” he said, according to Page Six. “I told her that I had to go to the hospital for something minor.”

Shutterstock

However, Collie knew all too well that Nelson had a weakness for beautiful women and was way too smart to fall for his excuses, so he had to tell her the truth. The mother of that baby girl, Connie Kopek, became his third wife. They stayed together for 17 years before Nelson married makeup artist Marie D’Angelo whom he refers to as the true love of his life.

“My love for Annie was all-consuming, but winning her over wasn’t easy. She had to be sure my marriage was over and that I was truly free,” he said speaking to Daily Mail. “You’ve already seen that when it comes to romance, I had a gift for complicating things. But marrying Annie wasn’t complicated at all.”

“It’s about the smartest thing I ever did… thirty-four years after we first met, we’re still together and going strong.”

This 13 time Grammy Award winning artist’s love life might have been complicated in the past, but we are glad he found what he was looking for at the end and is happy with his wife.

Brain damaged pup dumped in the middle of the street gets the much needed help

With all those stories of animals who are being abused, neglected, and abandoned in the worst ways possible, I can’t help by wonder why would those people even take a pet in if they are not ready to commit and take great care of them.

A cruel owner dumped a tiny puppy in the middle of the street. And as if abandoning the fragile creature wasn’t mean enough, he hurt his head severely before getting rid of him.

Source: Animal Rescue via Quovadis Vilma Vilca

The poor pup was staying there in pain and helpless to even ask for help from the passersby who ignored him and pretended he didn’t exist. Luckily, a woman and her son noticed the curled up pup and got closer to him. They noticed the injury on his head and realized it was a serious one and the little guy was in need of medical attention.

However, the pup was way too scared to feel comfortable around these people who were there to give him a second chance in life.

Source: Animal Rescue via Quovadis Vilma Vilca

Eventually, the mom and her son alerted an animal rescue service who lifted the pup up and took him to the vet’s. There, it was determined that the sweet animal suffered a brain injury and doctors didn’t know whether things would get better or worse in the days to come. They gave him medicines and said he needed around the clock care, something the good Samaritans were more than willing to give to the pup who became an important part of their life.

As weeks passed by, the puppy showed immense progress. He started wagging his tail and gave his human family lots of kisses. The vets were amazed at the significant improvement and were happy the dog was found by the right people.

Dog was abandoned and tied to a railing with some pizza and a sad note next to her

Justin Hanley from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania left his home that day not knowing he was about to stumble upon the saddest sight he’d ever seen. A sweet pup was tied to the railing with some pizza slices placed by its side. What was even more unusual was the note left under the doormat.

Source: East Falls Rants

The note read: “Please take me home. I’m a girl named Diamond. We can no longer keep her in our home. Thank you.”

Source: East Falls Rants

No matter how much Justin wanted to keep the beauty, he couldn’t really take a pet in so he decided to share this unusual story with a group called East Falls Rants by posting it on their Facebook page.

Source: East Falls Rants

Justin was more than happy to keep the dog until someone willing to provide her with a forever home would come along. Shortly after she entered Justin’s life, the dog which was later named Serenity was taken in by the Don’t Bully Us Rescue in southern New Jersey. They knew exactly where this dog should be placed. In the home of a retired Army special forces officer Chris King.

Serenity was extremely happy to be fostered by an animal lover like Chris. You won’t believe how many animals he and his girlfriend are taking care of. They have nine other dogs and seven pygmy goats. Chris also has four siblings but says it’s never crowded and there is always space for another animal in need of a loving home.

She was later given for adoption and placed in another family, but it turned out she missed Chris so much that she couldn’t get used to living with someone else. Once he realized the pup wasn’t happy with her new human parents, Chris took her back in and doesn’t plan on letting her go ever again.

Many times in life we feel like we are too old for the things that make us happy and we somehow convince ourselves that out time has passed and we shouldn’t even bother for the dreams that left unfulfilled. Thankfully, stories like that of 95-year-old World War II veteran Corporal Lewie Shaw remind us that nothing is impossible.

This incredible man had a rough childhood. When he was just 12 years old, he lost his parents and was forced to quit school at the age of 17 in order to work and be able to provide for himself. Before he became part of the Marine Corps back in 1943, Shaw worked as a janitor and a school bus driver.

During the war, Shaw served in Tinian, Iwo Jima in Japan, and Spain as part of the 4th Marine Division. Speaking of the life back home after the war was over, Shaw says it was pretty dull. However, during the last year’s Veteran Day ceremony, he received the surprise of a life time.

Knowing just how much he regretted not getting a high school diploma, the Claremore public school in Oklahoma decided to grant him that wish and awarded him with one during a special graduation ceremony.

Shaw couldn’t believe what happened and was overjoyed. “It’s surreal,” he said, as tears of joy rolled down his face. He even offered a valuable piece of advice to all the students, saying, “My advice to them is keep on clawing, keep on digging. Get that education.”

Three brothers accused of raping 10-year-old girl in Louisiana home – 2 in custody, 1 wanted

Louisiana police are in search of one of the three brothers who sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in her home.

Two of the rapists, Raul and Wilmer Paz-Perez, both 35, are arrested and held without bond at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna. 31-year-old Elder Paz Perez, who has a second rape allegation in an unrelated case, is at large.

The incident took place in September 9, 2020, after the three brothers were left with the girl. It was reported they were friends of the family, and according to reports, Elder was romantically involved with the girl’s mother.

Allegedly, the three men first offered the girl money in order to have sex with her, and after she refused and got scared and locked herself in the bathroom, one of the brothers broke inside and they all raped the girl.

The incident was reported to the police a couple of days after it took place when the girl told a relative about what happened.

Lt. Michael Cunningham is asking from the public to come forward with any information that will lead to Elder’s arrest. Those who have and are willing to share information on the whereabouts of Elder Paz Perez should contact the Kenner Police at (504) 712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111 or toll-free 1.877.903.7867

The oldest US World War II veteran turned 111 and celebrated his birthday with flyovers and 9,700 cards

One thing I love about America is that the war veterans and the members of the military there are always treated with deep respect and considered heroes. Americans are well aware that it is because of these people that they enjoy freedom each and every day.

Lawrence Brooks is one of 300,000 living veterans who served during the World War II. Believe it or not, this hero was born on September 12, 1909, and turned 111 this year.

What’s most, he celebrated his birthday in a unique way and received around 9,700 cards from people from all over the country who congratulated him on his birthday and his heroism.

Brooks, who served in New Guinea and the Philippines as part of a unit mainly made up of African Americans has been celebrating his birthday at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans each year.

This time, however, it was a bit different. Because of the coronavirus pandemic and the social distancing, this hero watched the museum’s vocal trio, The Victory Belles, singing “Happy Birthday” to him from his porch. He also received an aerobatics show and a full military flyover.

The museum took to Instagram and wrote, “While we weren’t able to have our usual birthday party at the Museum this year, we were able to host a socially distanced celebration that he could view safely from his porch. In addition to flyovers, a cake, and a personal performance from the Victory Belles, we were able to deliver the nearly 10,000 birthday cards sent in from around the world. Thank you to everyone who sent a card or birthday wishes for helping us make this day special in a new way!

The president of the museum, Stephen Watson, said, “The museum’s mission is to tell important stories of the men and women who served in World War Two. We are honored to celebrate Lawrence Brooks, whose life and service are filled with such stories of bravery and determination.”

After the war was over, Brooks worked as a forklift operator. He has five children, 13 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. We wish him a very happy birthday and many more to come.

10-year-old girl raped and made pregnant by her stepfather was given baby shower by the local church

News about children who suffer from the hands of those who are supposed to carry for them is something that we hear a lot. Sadly, it seems to me that this world is going crazier with each passing day and we can’t really do anything to stop that, no matter how hard we try.

A story of a 10-year-old girl from Monte Caseros, Argentina, shook the entire world after it was discovered that her stepfather, Horacio Insaurralde, raped and impregnated her.

The mother had no idea what her little girl was going through while the two were living under the same roof with the monster stepfather. And she didn’t realize her daughter was pregnant until the girl’s grandmother noticed how her belly was getting bigger and bigger every day. At the time of the discovery, the mother and Horacio were no longer together as things didn’t work out between them.

Learning of the girl’s pregnancy left the mother and the family in disbelief. It was obvious the girl couldn’t continue with the pregnancy because she was way too young to give birth and she was raped, so the mother considered the Legal Interruption of Pregnancy (ILE) which is a measure taken to legally have an abortion if the pregnancy is harmful to the health of the person, or, is a product of rape.

However, after consulting a doctor, the mother was told that “it was riskier to stop the pregnancy than to continue it” knowing the girl was already 24 weeks into pregnancy, according to Ester Dotro, the leader of a Collective Feminist group.

Dotro said how the doctor was a religious person and persuaded the mother to keep the girl’s baby because of “personal ideological and religious opinions.” Dotro also added that despite that, she still respected the doctor’s “medical and social work because they have done a lot.”

Eventually, the mother decided what was best for her daughter’s health, and that was continuing with the pregnancy.

The local church the mother and the girl attended organized a baby shower. Pastor Mari of the Ministerial Apostolic and Prophetic Church of Monte Caseros said they did that in order to help the family and didn’t want to comment on the decision about keeping the baby saying, “I am neutral. That is a family decision,” according to Mirror. “We have not given any advice to the family,” the pastor went on to say. “I accept that it is a mother and a very young girl. However, the baby that is coming is a life and the young girl has to be attended psychologically.”

The pastor added how they all hope Horacio will be brought to justice and will pay the consequences.

So far, what we know of the case is that the wrongdoer is still in custody and “a trial is pending a date from the Paso de los Libres Oral Penal Tribunal,” as per Prosecutor Oscar Fabian Soto. The Family and Civil jurisdiction of Monte Caseros has opened a separate case against 31-year-old Horacio.

As for the sweet little girl whose life has changed forever, she gave birth to a baby boy via Cesarean section at the Neonatal Eloisa Torrense de Vidal Hospital. We truly hope she will be able to have a normal life after everything she went through.

Police officer gets a call about lost and confused non-verbal autistic boy – helps him find his way home

Police officers may be dubbed bad my some based on the recent events, but the truth is that most members of the police are always willing to go above and beyond for people in need of help.

It wasn’t any different this time when an officer from Stockton, California, got a call about a boy that seemed to be lost and unable to find his way home. Upon arrival, the officer realized that the boy was autistic and non-verbal, but he somehow managed to persuade him to give him his bus pass so that he could at least learn his name.

Once he gained his trust, the officer asked from the boy to write down any information that could help him track his parents or members of his family down.

The story was shared by the Stockton Police Department (SPD) along with a photo of the officer and the boy. They wanted to restore people’s trust in what they truly do for the community and wrote, “Through this form of communication, the officer was able to locate a family member and the child was safely reunited with a relative, #ItsWhatWeDo.”

Many were glad everything turned great and the officer’s approach helped locate the family. Some of the comments were, “Great training! My son with Autism ran away from school last year. He was found a mile away by a paramedic and SPD. They did an amazing job getting him to communicate and helped him feel safe. Thank you so much for all you do!”

We would like to thank the officer for doing such a great job.

Mean woman kick snow onto cat’s face but karma strikes back

The way we treat animals speaks a lot about us as human beings. However, based on the fact that the number of stray cats and dogs is alarmingly huge, we have to agree that we failed at taking care of all those animals who are homeless and are left to fend for themselves.

And as though living on the street isn’t hard already, many of those animals suffer from mean humans who kick them and chase them away.

Just look at this cruel woman in the video below. The weather is cold and there is snow everywhere and one cat is staying outside. The woman keeps kicking snow onto the feline’s face as the poor cat feels helpless. But then, the animal knows it’s about time for her to stand for herself and does something incredible.

YouTube

The woman is on the ground after the cat defends herself and jumps onto the woman’s face. Honestly, we are glad this mean person got what she deserved. Maybe next time she won’t hurt another animal.

Animal lovers who have seen the video are happy with the outcome. One person wrote “Gotta admire the agility of the cat!! Look at that controlled landing!” Others added, “What a bad ass little kitty!” and “The best thing the cat could do for that idiot lady!”

We say karma at its best, don’t you agree?

Take a look at the video below and tell us what you think.

Cute twin babies dance in perfect sync to Johnny Cash’s song

This has to be the best thing you’ll see all day. Cute babies dancing to the rhythm in perfect sync that make us wonder how is it possible for someone that young to be a better dancer than we’ll ever be.

Twins Reese and Levi got their new Jolly Jumpers and their parents assumed the little ones will have fun using them, but what they didn’t know was that their cute “choreography” will bring so much joy to everyone who saw them dancing to Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues.

Both babies, who are just 9 months old, are all smiles and love these new jumpers a lot. They are so energetic that it looks like they won’t be getting out off them any time soon.

Many of Johnny Cash’s fans are glad his music continues to live on and that even the youngest generations enjoy his everlasting hits.

Take a look at the video that has been seen over 3.5 million times below and don’t forget to share it with your friends; they’ll love it, too.

Woman reunites with three chimps she raised and took care of 18 years ago

Do you remember the times when you dreamed of becoming a police officer, a firefighter, a teacher, or a model? Well, maybe you had other wishes when you were young. The thing is that not many of us get to fulfill those dreams from our younger days. Some, however, like Linda Koebner, never stop working hard on pursuing the profession from her childhood dreams.

This incredible woman has devoted her whole life helping and working with apes. And she knew she would be doing that since always.

As a 23-year-old graduate student, Linda got the assignment of taking care of three chimps who had spent the first six years of their life at a lab. These animals knew nothing about the outside world, so getting used to living at an open space was pretty hard for them. Luckily, Linda was there to teach them how. The first challenge was persuading the chimps to get out of their cages and explore the incredible island in Florida that was now their new home.

Because of their different characters, Linda named her new best friends Doll, Swing and Sparky.

It took her some time, but Linda helped the chimps acclimatize to nature and they soon understood it was how they were supposed to be living their whole lives.

Linda spent four years with Doll, Swing, and Sparky. During that time, they became a family and loved each other unconditionally. However, it was now time for her to go to another job, but she never forgot her chimps.

18 years after they last saw each other, Linda and the chimps reunited. She knew they wouldn’t forget her and the moment she met them she asked, “Remember me?”

At first, the animals were cautious, but curious enough to approach closer. As Linda expected, they recognized her, and the reunion is one of the most touching we’ve ever witnessed. Swing was the first to greet the woman he considered his mother. “I am so happy to see you,” Linda said.

The four spent a great day together. They hugged, and kissed, and played. Linda couldn’t contain her tears because she missed these loving chimps so very much and was overwhelmed to touch them again.

During the years, 30 more chimps inhabited the island all thanks to Linda, Doll, Swing, and Sparky.

Benny’s last day on Earth: Dear Dad, I will pass the rainbow bridge – this is my letter for goodbye!

Saying that final goodbye to your pet is the hardest thing ever. The following letter was written by a dog owner named John Pointer but on his best furry pal’s behalf. The words he put on that piece of paper are so deep and emotional that his post shook people from all around the globe and went viral in a matter of days. Those who had to go through the ordeal of seeing their pet crossing the rainbow bridge relate to the grief this man feels for his Benny.

Read the touching letter below.

“Yesterday was a weird day. I couldn’t get myself out of bed. The guy I live with lifted me up. I tried to get my legs under me, but they wouldn’t cooperate. He said, “Don’t worry, I gotcha buddy,” carried me downstairs, and out the front door. That was so nice of him. I needed to pee so badly, I just had to go right there where he put me down. Normally I wouldn’t, but we both decided to make an exception to the rule.
I started walking down the parking lot toward that place where all the dogs like me go to poop. I felt my paws dragging on the ground. “How strange,” I thought. Then suddenly, I just had to go, really badly. In the middle of the parking lot. Normally, I wouldn’t do that. It’s against the rules.”

“My person cleaned up the mess. He’s good at that. I felt embarrassed, looked at him, and he said, “Want to keep walking, buddy?” I did, but it was surprisingly tough. By the time we reached the end of the parking lot, my head was spinning. I tried to climb the little hill, and nearly fell over. I couldn’t figure out what was going on.
He reached down again, and ran his hands over me. That felt good. He picked me up, and carried me home. I was still confused, and my head was light, but I was glad not to have to walk all the way back. It suddenly seemed like an impossible distance.”

“I was so glad to lay down on my bed. My person petted me, saying, “I gotcha covered, buddy. I gotcha.” I love the way that makes me feel. I know he does. He makes everything better.
He felt my paws, and pulled up my lip and said, “Oh buddy, are you cold?” I was. My face was cold, my paws were cold. He texted a few people, and came back to pet me.

A few minutes later, another person arrived. He’s one of my favorites, and his name is Jay. He petted me, and said to my person, “Do you want to get a blanket?” They put a blanket over me, and wow… that felt good. I relaxed, and they both petted me, but they both started to choke back tears.”

“I never want them to cry, it breaks my heart. It’s my job to make them feel better, and I was just a little tired, and cold. I drifted in and out of sleep, and they were always there, making sure I was okay, and chatting with each other.

Throughout the day, my person made some phone calls, and spent a lot of time with me. I heard him say, “9 am tomorrow… ok… yes… I’ll tell you if anything changes. Thank you Dr. MacDonald.” He called someone else, and said, “I’m sorry, I have to cancel tonight.” Then as I was drifting off to sleep, I think I heard him cry a little again.”

“In the evening, more of my favorite people came by. They were all so loving. I licked their tears away when they would get close enough to my face. They whispered sweet things in my ear, and told me I was a good boy.
Later in the evening, I felt well enough to stand up and walk to the door to see who was coming in. It was more exhausting than I’d remembered it being, but I loved seeing them all. I heard my person say something like, “That’s the first time he’s gotten up under his own power today.” Everyone seemed glad that I was out of bed. I was too, but wow… after the excitement wore off, it was so exhausting to move around.”

“After the last visitor left, my person took me outside to do what he called, “my business.” We went back inside and when we reached the bottom of the stairs, they looked twice as steep and ten times as long as I remembered them being. I looked at my person, and he looked at me. He said, “Don’t worry, I gotcha buddy,” and carried me up.
Then it got even better! Instead of sleeping in my bed, he called me up to sleep on *his* bed. Let me repeat: *I got to sleep in the bed with my person!* We normally have our own beds, but last night we snuggled, and it felt so good to be that close to him. I thought, “This is where I belong. I will never leave his side.” I didn’t feel very well though, and it was hard to breathe sometimes.”

“It seems like it started a few months ago. We were playing fetch and I just blacked out. I don’t know what happened, but I think I stopped breathing. I could hear my person calling my name but I couldn’t move a muscle. He lifted my head, and looked into my eyes. I could see him right there, but couldn’t lick his face. He said, “Benny, are you in there?” I couldn’t respond. He looked at me, and said, “Don’t worry buddy, I gotcha. I gotcha covered.” I started to spin into darkness, but then my lungs took in a deep breath, and I could see again.

We went to see some doctors, and since then I’ve heard a lot of words like, “cardiomyopathy,” “cancer,” and, “kidney failure.” All i know is that sometimes I feel okay, and sometimes… you know… I just don’t. My person gives me pills.”

“This morning, I heard my person get up and take a shower. He came back in the room, and smelled so nice. He helped me get up, but this time, I could do it on my own. We got to the top of the stairs, and wow… they looked long and steep again. He said, “I gotcha buddy,” and carried me down. I did my business, and we came back inside. He opened a can, a really, really delicious can of wet dog food. Oh man… I love that stuff!

Jay showed up again. What a nice surprise! He and my person seemed concerned, but everyone was petting me. It seemed a little like a play, where all the actors were sad, but pretending to be happy. Pretty soon after that, another person showed up. She was wearing doctor pants, and I leaned on her.”

“I heard them talk. Everyone looked at my gums, and felt my paws. I heard the doctor pants lady say, “It’s your decision, but he’s definitely in that window. I don’t want to push you, but looking at his lack of color, I am honestly shocked he’s even standing up. In addition to the paws and jowls, look here…” she pointed at my face, “This should be pink. It’s almost white, and verging toward yellow.”

My person and Jay went inside to talk about something. When they came back out, I heard my person say, “I agree. I don’t want to wait till he’s in absolute agony.” So we went inside. Truth be told, I was feeling pretty badly, even though I was up and walking. It seemed like my whole head was cold, my paws were freezing, and my back legs weren’t working right.”

“The doctor pants lady said, “I’ll just put this into his muscle. It’s a sedative. Then I’ll come back over here, and you can just love on him till he’s asleep.” My person kissed my face, and looked in my eyes. He was trying not to cry. Doctor pants lady gave me a shot of something in the leg. I just looked at my person. He is so awesome and I will always be right by his side.

He and Jay petted me, and said the nicest things – what a good dog I am, what a good job I’ve done, how thankful they are to have me in their lives. After a while, my mind started buzzing. FOCUS! I looked back at my person. I love him so much.”

“I drifted again. FOCUS! I can see my person. I love him so much. I will always be right by his side. He knows that. Am I sleepy? FOCUS! I’ll always look at him with my whole heart…

Doctor pants lady said, “He must have an incredible will to stay with you. He is really powering through. That’s impressive.” My person choked back tears and said, “I know. This guy lives for me. He is the most devoted soul I’ve ever met…” We put our heads together, and closed our eyes. I felt good. I can’t really describe it. We looked at each other again. I just felt like riding that buzz, but maybe lying down was better. My person helped me down. Man, that felt gooooooood.

I felt him and Jay petting me, and heard them talking to me. They love me so much. How lucky am I? Then I felt thousands of hands petting me. Everyone I’d ever known and loved was there, petting me, scratching my ears, and that spot under my collar that makes my leg move. Everyone should try this. It’s just amazing!”

“Then I felt the doctor pants lady touch my leg. Did I tell you that my person had to have both of my knees repaired? They’re titanium, and have served me well, but you know… I’ve been feeling a little creaky lately.
With everyone petting me, the doctor pants lady put another needle in my leg, but this time, as the fluid went in, my legs were healed! My knees were perfect! And as I felt it move through my body, my cancer disappeared! And then my kidneys felt better and finally, even my heart was whole, and healthy! I felt like I had sprung away from all of my sickness. Amazing!”

“I saw my person, and Jay, and the lady who lives at our house, Shelly. They seemed to be huddling over something. I walked over to look. It seemed like… I don’t know. It kind of looked like me, but the way I looked when I was feeling really sick, or exhausted. The face was blurred out, so I couldn’t really tell, but that poor guy looked like he had been suffering.

I could tell my person was both relieved and very, very sad. I love him so much. I looked at that me-shaped shell, and I looked at him… I think he was sad about that shell. I jumped around the room, like a clown, but it seemed like they wanted to be somber, and focus on whatever that thing was they were petting and kissing.

But my person was definitely sad. I leaned on him, like I’ve done a million times before, but it wasn’t quite the same. It felt like his body was a cloud and I passed right through him. So I walked up next to him, sat like a good boy, and my heart whispered to his, “Don’t worry, buddy. I gotcha covered.”

I will never leave his side. He knows that.”

John Pointer paid tribute to his dog Benny in the most beautiful way possible. He shared how much his four-legged pal meant to him and how much he will miss his presence in a way that made millions cry. Incredible indeed!
