Garth Brooks decided to quit music to raise his daughters after divorcing his first wife

Although he always believed he would pursue a career in sports, Garth Brooks ended up becoming one of the most famous country singers of all time thanks to his music talent.

It was during his years at the Oklahoma State University that Brooks became aware of his love for singing and performing. He and his friends experimented with music in their dorm rooms and soon after, Brooks decided to take his guitar to a local salon named Willie’s and ask if he could perform. Once on stage, with all those people listening to him playing and singing, Brooks knew music was his calling.

“One night turned into two nights, three nights, and pretty soon I was playing Monday through Friday all over town,” Brooks recalled to Colbert. “The great thing was, it wasn’t working … I could feed myself and somebody I loved doing something that isn’t a job!”

Next, he formed his band Santa Fe, which performed music covers.

“The greatest thing about clubs is there’s no one in between you and the people you’re playing for,” he told PBS.

“There is no “yes men” between you and them; it’s just honesty. They’re going to let you know. And they’re going to let you know right away. So you learn quick what works and what doesn’t.”

What felt like the right thing to do at the time was moving to Nashville, where Brooks believed he could make a career. But things didn’t turn as expected and he soon returned to Stillwater, a bit disappointed from the pace with which his career was moving.

Then, one night changed it all for Brooks. He took part in a writer’s round at the famous Bluebird Café. The person who was supposed to perform second didn’t show up and Brooks took the stage instead. He sang If Tomorrow Never Comes, not aware that among the crowd there was the Capitol Records label head Lynn Shults.

Shults was mesmerized by Brooks’ performance and told him to stop by his office the following day. On June 17, 1988, Capital Records signed Brooks for an advance of $10,000. The following year, he released his first single, Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old), which reached No. 8 in the charts.

At the time his career took off and he rose to stardom, Brooks was married to wife Sandy with whom he has three children. She was his greatest support and was always by his side, but eventually, Brooks’ many tours, promotions, and performances, which required from him to be away from home, were too much to handle for Sandy. The two filed for divorce, which was finalized in 2001.

“Sandy is kind of doing my job and her job with the girls. If Sandy is doing her job, she’s telling them, ‘Hey, your dad loves you to death. He’s just working, and he’ll be home soon.’ Well, I didn’t have anybody to do that anymore,” he said about the divorce, shortly after he announced he wanted to retire from music in order to be able to spend more time with his daughters.

The divorce of Brooks and Sandy became a much-talked-about topic, especially because of the hefty settlement worth $125 million, which she received.

The former partners maintained a co-parenting schedule for 14 years. Despite the divorce, their daughters were seeing both parents every morning and every evening. “That’s how we ran it because we knew it was right for those kids. If you did what was right for the kids, you were going to do what was right for you. It was simple,” Brooks said.

In 2005, Brooks married his second wife, Trisha Yearwood, a very famous singer on her own right. Speaking to US Weekley, Brooks said that Trisha became an active participant in raising his daughters. He, Sandy, and Trisha often attend the girls’ many sporting events together.

“I will say, I’d never wished divorce on anybody, but [for us,] three children and three parents worked really well, especially since the three girls were all tomboys. So they were all at soccer, track and field, softball, and never ever did one of those kids take the field where at least one parent wasn’t in the stands,” Brooks told US Magazine.

Brooks has won 23 Academy of Country Music Awards over the course of his career, and was nominated for two Primetime Emmys in 1999 for Outstanding Performance in a Variety or Music Program and Outstanding Variety, Music, or Comedy Special for his Garth Live From Central Park special. He has a net worth of $400 million.

Children of Hollywood child star and movie icon Shirley Temple reveal details about the mother they cherished

Few child actors have ever reached the fame of incredible Shirley Temple who was considered the cutest and most talented young actress during the 1930’s. She starred in a number of movies, including Curly Top and Heidi, which brought her plenty of awards, among which a special Juvenile Academy Award for her outstanding contribution as a juvenile performer in motion pictures during 1934.

What’s most, Shirley capitalized on licensed merchandise, such as dolls, dishes, and clothing, that featured her wholesome image.

In the midst of her popularity, Shirley retired from acting at the age of just 22. Some years later, however, she returned to acting, making guest appearances on television shows in the early 1960s.

Besides her acting career, Shirley was also a very successful business woman who sat on the boards of corporations and organizations, including The Walt Disney Company, Del Monte Foods, and the National Wildlife Federation.

At the same time, this versatile woman was a diplomat as well, serving as the United States ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia and becoming the first female Chief of Protocol.

Shirley led quite a life. She was married twice and had three children. Sadly, she passed away in 2014 at the age of 85 due to a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

From her first marriage to husband John Agar, Shirley welcomed daughter Linda Susan Agar. While married to her second husband, Charles Alden Black, Shirley gave birth to son Charles Alden Black Jr. and daughter Lori Black.

Lori was the child who gave Shirley much trouble. Namely, Lori was a musician who played bass for the bands “Clown Alley” and the “Melvins.” During the 80’s, she got involved with drugs and struggled to overcome the addiction. During that time, her mother was always by her side.

On what was supposed to be Shirley’s 90th birthday, her children gathered together to pay tribute to their mother. Her son Charles shared what it was like growing up with a famous mother. “The only time I noticed her star quality was when someone else would ask for her autograph. She was an amazing person. She was wonderful — and normal. We had dinner at the table every night all together.”

Her daughter, Linda added: “She was devoted and generous, and she could be a little stern if we didn’t behave. But she was also a lot of fun. Very inventive and imaginative. She was all about her children and her husband.

“We had a lot of fun decorating the dining room. Being a wife and mom is the greatest of her achievements. We were shopping and travel buddies. We went many places together. She was one of my very best friends…”

11-year-old girl buys a dated camper for $400 and turns it into the cutest tiny home

The ongoing pandemic changed the way we live and socialize with one another. Sadly, it affected young children as well. In the past, typical 11-year-old kids would spend their days hanging out, playing games, and engaging in a number of extracurricular activities. These days, they tend to spend their time at home, making sure they stay safe and sound.

Lauren Nelson, 11, decided to spend her days doing something incredibly inspiring. She, as many young girls her age, wanted the newest toy camper of American Girl which cost $650. When she asked her dad to buy it for her, he said, “That’s ridiculous, you could buy your own camper for that price.”

And that’s how the idea for a real camper was born.

Lauren had some money on her own, and she was determined to spend it on a vehicle that she would later turn into a home.

Speaking to NY Post, her mom, Aimee, explained, “Lauren really does have an envelope where she saves money. And it’s just a little bit here and there from things, like $5 at Easter or Tooth Fairy money. It just added up.”

The great thing was that Lauren didn’t need to look far as one of their neighbors was selling his camper for $500. The thing was that Lauren only had $400 so she negotiated and managed to get the camper for the suitable price.

“He said $500 and I said $400 because that was the money I had in my bank account and he said sold,” the girl explained.

Once she got the camper, she needed to save more money in order to renovate it. At the end, she ended up spending additional $400 for the furnishings and accessories for her boho-styled hideout.

She used the HGTV show Tiny House Hunters and Pinterest for inspiration.

The final result is mesmerizing to say the least. Lauren’s camper has everything a cozy home needs, and that’s a nice living space, a four-bed bedroom, a bathroom, and a kitchen. It also has a number of cool decorations such as plants, decorative pillows, and a bunch of cupboards.

Lauren is a creative young lady. However, it wouldn’t be possible for her project to turn into reality if it wasn’t for her parents who let their daughter stretch her creative wings.

4-year-old alerts police that he and six other children are left alone inside a hot vehicle

With the temperatures getting higher and higher, we should all have in mind the consequences of leaving young children and pets locked inside hot vehicles. Many adults believe that their children being left alone inside the car for a short period of time would do them no harm, but the reality is that it sometimes takes a moment for a tragedy to take place.

Back in 2019, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office got a call from a 4-year-old boy who told them that he and six other children were all alone inside a hot car. They boy said that they all had troubles breathing and were sweating. His voice was trembling and the officers could tell he was terrified and fearing for his life.

Unfortunately, he was way too young to be able to tell where they were parked. The officers, however, managed to track the call down and arrived at the parking lot of the shopping center in Waldorf, Maryland just in time. The boy’s mother came some 10 minutes later and claimed that she was only gone for 20 minutes.

Two of the children, who were all aged 2 to 4, were her kids, and she was babysitting the rest. She was later charged with confinement of children inside a motor vehicle.

Luckily, no one was hurt. But this story should serve as an example that no child or pet should ever be left unattended inside a hot vehicle.

According to Injury Facts, the number of children who die of vehicular heatstroke is 38 per year on average.

This is how much ‘Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison is worth

People seem to be more and more into reality shows nowadays than ever before. Why we love these shows so much is that they show real people doing real things. One of the shows that is on air for over a decade and is as popular today as it was back in the day is Pawn Stars.

It started with Richard Harrison, known as The Old Man, and his sons running their Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over the years, they purchased, sold, and evaluated a huge number of artifacts with incredible background stories.

Sadly, The Old Man passed away in 2018, at the age of 77, and his son Rick Harrison took charge of the famous shop which resembles a history museum and brings a lot of cash.

After Richard’s death, Rick paid a tribute to his father with a touching message.

“He will be tremendously missed by our family, the team at Gold & Silver Pawn and his many fans the world over,” Rick wrote on Instagram. “He was my hero and I was fortunate to get a very cool ‘Old Man’ as my dad. That I got to share him with so many others and they got to see what a great family man he was is something I am grateful to have experienced with him.

“I think about him every day. I had a different relationship with him,” Rick said.

“Most people, when they turn 18, they go off to school, get a job and move out. I worked with my father from the time I was a kid. He stayed in the Navy for years because of me. Otherwise, it would have been really difficult with my medical expenses. But despite my epilepsy, he never treated me differently.”

Youtube/PawnStars

In fact, in order to be able to work alongside his father, Rick dropped out of high school and learned how the business was done. Speaking of his childhood, he says he started buying and selling stuff from young age, and soon after, he expanded from dealing with coins and gold, to vintage cars, firearms and a huge number of different antiques.

Speaking to Review Journal, rick recalled how his dad found the idea of doing a show the craziest, stupidest thing he’d ever heard.” The great thing is that he later changed his mind and that’s how Pawn Stars was born.

“I remember telling him, ‘Dad, you’ve got to come in Saturday for the sizzle reel.’ And he looks at me and says, ‘Rick, you’re never getting a bleeping TV show. It’s just not going to happen.’ I begged him to come in that Saturday. But we had to have him. He was the grumpy old man that everyone loves,” Rick said.

“At first, I just thought a season or two would be good for business,” he added. “It’s really bizarre. I’m just a fat pawn broker, and now I’m known all over the world.”

Instagram/RickHarrison

Today, Rick runs the shop with his son Corey and his friend Austin “Chumlee” Russell. The pandemic affected the income and Rick confessed that before it, the shop made $4,000 a day and now it went down to less than $400.

Over the years, Rick managed to accumulate a net worth of around $9 million all thanks to his business, the reality show, and his restaurant.

He’s giving a significant amount of money to different charities and is on the board of the Epilepsy Foundation. Having epilepsy himself, Rick is hoping to raise awareness about the condition. Speaking to Fox, he said: “If you have a seizure, you’re going to know it,” he explained. “There are some people, you have, like they’ll have small seizures when they sleep and they don’t even know it. It’s a disease that I think just a lot more people need to know about or maybe need some more awareness about it, and hopefully I’m going to find a cure for it one day, well, not me, the Epilepsy Foundation, not me.”

Pawn Stars airs in over 100 countries, and people can’t have enough of Rick. “First off, most reality shows are pretty much scripted. Mine is not,” Rick said of his show. “And it’s truly different every week. You can have a show about motorcycles or cars, but there’s only the only so much you can do with a motorcycle or a car every week. And people want to learn, but they don’t want to feel like they’re sitting around with a professor. I give all the history lessons and I make learning entertaining on the show.”

He says he is a real celebrity and people not only from America but basically from all around the world recognize him. The show aired in France recently and although a great portion of it had to be filmed there, Rick says he doesn’t mind traveling around.

“Seventy-five percent of TV shows in France have to be made in France, so it was very difficult to be on there,” he told Review Journal. “They are watching the very beginning of the show right now, so I’m like a rock star there and before the lockdown 15 percent of my business was French.

“I went to Buenos Aires and was mobbed. Last season, when we were filming in Rome, everyone’s running up to me. In Kuala Lampur, they know who I am.”

We do hope you love watching Pawn Stars as much as we do. Keep up the great work, Rick.

Bikers escort the casket of a veteran whose body no one claimed

A lot has been said for the sacrifice the veterans made for this country, and no matter what we do for them, we can never thank them enough for keeping us safe.

Sadly, as time passes by and these brave people reach their old age, not many are around them. Although this should never be the case, it does happen and many elderly veterans are left on their own.

Nick Morales is a veteran himself. He and his fellow biker friends show appreciation for those who fought for this country whenever possible. In fact, they have started a project through which they honor the life of veterans who passed away and no one to claimed their bodies. This group’s motto is Vets helping Vets.

Youtube / FoxNews

Recently, they learned of the death of Mr. Robert Krause who served as a Marine in the 1950s. He was living all by himself, with no friends of relatives who could organize a decent funeral for him. That’s when Nick Morales and his crew stepped in.

”I’ve heard it said that a veteran dies twice: once on the battlefield and the second time when people stop saying his name,” Morales told Fox 13 News. ”If there’s anything we can do to prevent the latter, so be it.”

The kind volunteers escorted Mr. Krause’s casket from the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital to the Florida National Cemetery and that way they paid tribute to his service.

“We’re not going to let any vet go to their final resting place by themselves. We all have a common bond of service – our service, what we’ve done for our country. And regardless of what we’ve done after our service, we still have that bond,” Morales said.

We are very thankful for everything these bikers do for the fallen veterans. You are our heroes, may God bless you all.

Take a look at the touching story in the video below and don’t forget to share it with your friends because these people deserve all the praise in this world.

Elizabeth Taylor divorced her husband 15 years before passing away, but still left him money in her will

Dubbed one of the most beautiful actresses that have ever walked this Earth, Elizabeth Taylor was a true diva. Her unique appearance, her double row of lashes due to a condition known as distichiasis, and her incredible eyes which were purple-colored only added to her gorgeousness.

Her beauty, along with her raw talent, were a reason enough for her mother to “push” her into the world of film. Well, it wasn’t that young Elizabeth didn’t like to act, although she would confess later in life that she was sorry she missed having an ordinary chidhood.

She signed her first contract with Universal Studios when she was still very young, and at 10 years of age, she already had her debut in the film There’s One Born Every Minute. What followed were the films Lassie Come Home (1943) and The White Cliffs of Dover (1944). Her big breakthrough, however, came with the film National Velvet in which she played a tomboy. At that point, she already had her contract with MGM because apparently, she was fired by Universal Studios before that for reasons unknown. Some magazines reported that the casting director believed “her eyes were too old,” and that “she didn’t have the face of a child.”

Over the years, she appeared in a number of movies and received plenty of attention and awards, including two Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Butterfield 8 (1961) and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1967), as well as the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, awarded to individuals for “outstanding contributions to humanitarian causes.”

Elizabeth’s private life was as exciting as her very successful career which spanned almost her entire life. Her eight marriages placed her name in a number of gossip and celebrity news headlines, but despite that, she never stopped looking for love.

The Cleopatra star was married eight times, twice to the same man, actor Richard Burton.

Youtube/Astrotema

Her first marriage, to hotel heir Nicky Hilton, didn’t last long because according to the actress herself, she was too young and probably expected a lot. He second husband, Michael Wilding, was twenty years her senior. They had two children together, Michael Jr., born in 1953, and Christopher, born in 1955.

Elizabeth married movie producer Mike Todd in 1957. The two welcomed daughter Lizz, but just a year later, he died in a plane crash. During the time of grieving, she got really close to her late husband’s best friend Eddie Fisher, who was married to actress Debbie Reynolds at the time. One thing led to another and the two decided to marry. Only after their divorce did Elizabeth and Debbie smoothed things between them.

One of her most controversial relationships was that with actor Richard Burton. They married twice and divorced that many times. They adopted a daughter from Germany named Maria together.

In 1967, Elizabeth married her seventh husband, John Warner, a Republican politician from Virginia.

Youtube/TheNewYorkTimes

Her last husband, Larry Fortensky, was 20 years younger than her. The two met at the Betty Ford Clinic in 1988. According to him, she was there for pills and he for beer.

Their relationship continued even after they left the clinic and tied the knot in 1991 in a ceremony held at Michael Jackson’s ranch Neverland. The wedding cost $1.6 million.

As their relationship was surrounded by plenty of rumors, Larry decided to speak up and reveal the truth. “Of course, she was very pretty, and I wasn’t too bad-looking in those days either. We had an instant physical attraction,” he said of the time they first met.

He spoke of her as of a very special person with a sense of humor and childish spirit. One of the most vibrant memories of her that he cherished was from their trip to Switzerland. “I chased her outside, and she fell in the snow and started waving her arms around giggling like a little girl. That is my favorite picture. I keep it by my bed,” he said. “That’s how I remember Elizabeth. She had a childishness about her. She was 20 years older than me, but I never felt she was old.”

Elizabeth was very passionate about their relationship and she would often shower him with expensive gifts. One time, she bought him a brand new Harley-Davidson motorbike, as well as a BMW for his birthday.

He, of course, couldn’t compete with her. “I knew I couldn’t compete with Elizabeth, so I didn’t try. When she gave me the bike, I gave her chocolate-covered roses. Another year I bought her a baby lop-eared bunny which she loved,” he said.

He added how she was used to being photographed all the time, but he had a hard time coping with paparazzi and cameras.

Even after their divorce, Elizabeth and Larry remained very close friends and that friendship was something they both nurtured until the end of her life.

When she passed away in 2011, from congestive heart failure, Elizabeth left Larry $500,000 in her will to “honor their friendship.”

The rest of her huge fortune was inherited by her children. As for her jewels and perfumes, they were auctioned off and the money went to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, a cause she kept close to her heart her entire life.

Barron Trump thought Donald Trump was “too tough” on Joe Biden during presidential debate

It’s been almost a year since the presidential elections in the U.S. took place, yet, media outlets are still covering different stories related to it.

Former President Donald Trump, who now lives in his family’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, said during many occasions he is planning on running for president again in 2024. A former White House aide, however, suggested that he might not even be able to run because of his health so we are yet to see how Trump’s story will unfold.

One thing about the elections is that the presidential race was sort of toxic. Both Trump and Biden said harsh words about one another and many believed they both crossed lines.

Source: Shutterstock/Nuno21

Their debates were heated, including the very first one moderated by Chris Wallace, during which Trump interrupted Biden multiple times; 128 to be exact, as reported by Slate. Biden on the other hand called Trump a “clown.”

Now, according to a new book, Rigged: How the Media, Big Tech, and the Democrats Seized Our Elections, by Fox commentator and The Federalist senior editor Mollie Hemingway, Trump is still mad at Wallace.

Daily Mail obtained a section of the book and revealed Trump to have said, “The problem was Biden would speak and it was lie after lie, after lie. Everything he said was a lie, this guy, and then Chris Wallace wouldn’t let you respond. Chris Wallace was terrible.”

One person who believed Trump crossed the line during the debate and the presidential race was his son Barron Trump. Apparently, Donald confessed that his then 14-year-old son told him he was “too harsh” on Biden. Baron was even reported to have told his dad that he “caught wind” of some of the negative feedback.

“People thought I was too belligerent,” Trump said, according to the book. “I will say my own son Barron said, ‘Dad, you were too tough. You didn’t have to keep interrupting him.’”

Barron now attends the private school Oxbridge Academy and is part of the class of 2024. The spokesperson of the school said, “We look forward to welcoming him into our school and community,” as reported by People. On the school’s website it says that the institution is “committed to providing both merit scholarships and generous financial aid in an effort to attract the most qualified students and to make Oxbridge financially feasible.” They offer a number of classes, including teaching students kindness.

Melania Trump protects her son from scrutiny and the teen is rarely spotted out in public.

Recent photos of him and his parents show how tall Baron grew up to be. His dad, Donald Trump told New York Post jokingly, “Barron is 6-foot-7, can you believe it? And he’s 15. Eric (Trump) is short — he’s only 6-foot-6.”

Mailman tracks down little girl who sent her late dad a letter addressed to Heaven

The pain of not having your mom or dad in your life leaves a void in the heart. It is especially difficult to lose a parent at a very young age.

8-year-old Sianna from England lost her daddy when she was just four months old. It was a difficult time for her mother, Sarah Tully, who was left to raise her daughter all by herself. As time passed by, the little girl was eager to learn where her daddy was. She was looking at her friend’s fathers and couldn’t stop wondering why hers wasn’t around.

One day, her mom explained to her that she did have a daddy, but he was in heaven, looking down on her from above.

Sianna decided to send a letter to her father and addressed it to Cloud 9. She then put the letter in a postbox.

The following day a mailman named Simon was picking the post when the handwriting on Sianna’s letter attracted his attention. When he read the address, his heart broke in two. He just couldn’t stop thinking of the child who was desperately trying to reach her father. Aware that the letter could get lost in transit without a proper address on it, he went to his manager and asked for a permission to try and track down the child who wrote it.

“I’m a postman in the Braunstone area; earlier today I emptied the red pillar box…and there was a letter in a child’s handwriting addressed to their dad in Heaven, Cloud 9,” he wrote in the plea he posted on Facebook.

“I’m trying to find the parents of the child as I would like to reach out to them and with their permission sort out a little something for the child.

“I myself lost my dad last year and as an adult found it hard so I can only imagine what this child is going through. Please, if anyone has any details then it would be hugely appreciated.”

In no time, someone who knew Sarah told her about the post. She then contacted Simon and explained how her daughter believed her dad would get her letter. She was also touched by the number of responses on Simon’s plea. “I never thought this would happen. I’m in shock,” she told the BBC.

Sarah took the letter but said she won’t open it.

“I have no idea what is in it, I always say that’s between her and her dad.

“I told her it was too late to post it at first but she started crying, so I said ‘come on then’ and we walked to the post box down the street.”

Along with the letter, Simon also brought a gift to Sianna, a beautiful father-daughter figure Sarrah put picture of on Facebook with the following caption:  “The gift Simon the postman brought my daughter… this has been a very touching time for us …its been overwhelming thank u to u all x.”

Many took their time to praise this kind-hearted mailman’s act. He truly is an angel.

U.S. soldier amputates his own leg to save the lives of his buddies

During our lifetime we hear of people who do deeds so daring and noble that they don’t deserve anything less than to be hailed heroes. Army Spc. Ezra Maes is one of them. This young man’s bravery touched the hearts of many and what he did for his crewmates became a symbol of compassion and sacrifice.

It was back in 2018 when Maes served in Poland along with some of his friends. During an overnight training exercise, the tank in which he and his fellow mates stayed suddenly started rolling down the hill.

Maes was convinced it was part of the exercise or maybe some sort of prank and yelled to the driver to step on the brakes. But when the driver replied that it wasn’t him, Maes realized they were all in big trouble.

The tank was moving with 90 miles and hour and stopping it was impossible.

“We realized there was nothing else we could do and just held on,” Maes said about the accident.

After a number of sharp bumps, the tank crashed into an embankment. Maes flew across the machinery and his leg got caught in the turret gear.

Initially, he believed his leg was just broken and seeing his friends being severely injured with one breaking his back and another one bleeding profusely from a deep cut on her thigh, Maes started twisting and turning his leg desperately trying to release himself so he could offer them help. In the next moment, he was free, but he lost his leg.

He explained: “I pushed and pulled at my leg as hard as I could to get loose and felt a sharp tear. I thought I had dislodged my leg, but when I moved away, my leg was completely gone.”

Despite losing a lot of blood that was pouring from his leg heavily, this brave soldier managed to get to the medical kit and grab a tourniquet.

He couldn’t think of the pain or the leg he lost as the lives of the fellow soldiers rested on his shoulders.

“All I could think about was no one knows we’re down here,” he continued. “Either I step up or we all die.”

Luckily, one of the phones was still working and Maes was able to call for help that soon came to the place of the accident.

Maes was quickly rushed to the nearest hospital and later transferred to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

“I feel super lucky,” he said. “My crew all does. So many things could have gone wrong. Besides my leg, we all walked away pretty much unscathed.”

Sgt. Maes is an exceptional person who sacrificed losing a part of his body for the sake of his fellow soldiers’ lives. He deserves the whole country’s deepest respect!

94-year-old grandmother tries on wedding dress 70 years after being forbidden

Dreams do come true, although sometimes it takes way too long for something like that to happen. When 94-year-old Martha Mae Ophelia Moon Tucker got married back in 1952, she didn’t wear a wedding gown because the racial segregation laws practiced at the time didn’t allow her to enter a bridal boutique.

Instead, with the help of the woman she worked for at the time, Martha was only able to buy a navy-blue dress that would later come to be known as a “Carmen Jones” dress. Saying “I do” to her now late husband Lehman Tucker Sr. was all that was important, but still, not being allowed to wear a wedding dress was something that stayed with Martha more than 70 years.

Last year, however, all thanks to her granddaughter Angela, that all changed and Martha was finally able to try a real wedding gown on.

Speaking to Insider, Angela said how she and her grandma were watching “Coming to America” when Martha leaned on Angela’s shoulder and said: “I’ve always wanted to try on a wedding dress. I didn’t have one when I married.”

Seeing the devastation in her dear grandma’s eyes, Angela decided to surprise her by taking her to a wedding-dress fitting at David’s Bridal boutique in Hoover Alabama. Martha had no idea her wish of many years would finally turn into a reality. Angela even hired a makeup artist who gave sweet Martha a beautiful makeover.

“She’s always made sacrifices to give from her heart,” Angela said. “So to return a gift from my heart to her was priceless.”

Martha said she couldn’t believe how far things got from the time she got married. Racism is slowly, but surely, becoming part of the past.

What’s most, she loves all the attention she’s getting. Angela even joked, saying of her granny: “Now she’s saying, ‘Do you think Oprah may call me?’ I said, ‘I don’t think so Grandma.’”

100-year-old woman celebrates milestone birthday with her older sisters who are 102 and 104

Frances Kompus turned 100 years old in November 2021. Many of the people who are important to her, such us her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were there to wish her a happy birthday. Well, although it’s rare for someone to reach this milestone, it’s not unusual. What is in fact unusual in this story is that among Frances’ guests were her two older sisters, Lucy Pochop, who is 102 years old, and Julia Korpiva, who is 104.

The three sisters were born in Kansas where they lived in a farm with their parents. The sisters’ father died at the age of 98, so it’s safe to say that longevity runs in the family.

Speaking of the possible reasons they all reached their milestone birthdays, the sisters say that the secret is in eating well. They remember the times when they were making their own bread and didn’t consume ready-made or bought food.

“We always had homemade bread, just plain potatoes, and gravy and meat. With those cookstoves, that was hard to bake. The temperature was hard to keep. Even if it didn’t come out good, we still ate it,” Julia said laughing. “I am thankful for us girls being together all the time, my parents and my faith,” she added.

They even have some useful advice for the young people and say that what kept them vital is regular exercise as well as faith.

“Walk a lot,” Frances said, before Julia added: “I think faith comes first – and thank your parents and grandparents.”

What is interesting about these sisters is that they all live independently. While Julia and Lucy’s apartments are right next to one another, Francis lives few blocks away, which means they get to spend quality time together.

Happy birthday, Francis, you are lucky to still have your sisters in your life.

Jackie Kennedy’s former bodyguard reveals details about her and says she was an amazing mother

Jacqueline “Jackie” Bouvier Kennedy Onassis was a supremely stylish and eloquent young woman who brought optimism to the White House after becoming First Lady.

She captivated the entire country the moment she was first spotted in the company of her husband John Kennedy on the campaign trail. The two married shortly after they were first introduced to each other by a mutual friend. At the time they tied the knot, JFK was a senator and she worked as a reporter-photographer at the Washington Herald, which was her first job following her graduation from the George Washington University.

Jackie’s father was a stock broker and a wealthy man so she had the chance to get education at prestigious private schools and travel the world.

As a young child, she was described by one of her teachers, Miss Platt, as “a darling child, the prettiest little girl, very clever, very artistic, and full of the devil.”

Youtube/HelmerReenberg

People close to JFK and Jackie spoke of the instant connection they both felt the moment they were both invited to a dinner party in Georgetown. “She knew instantly that he would have a profound, perhaps disturbing, influence on her life,” Jackie’s family friend Molly Thayer said, as quoted in America’s Queen: The Life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

“My brother really was smitten with her right from the very beginning when he first met her at dinner,” JFK’s brother, Ted Kennedy, claimed.

JFK and Jackie married on September 12, 1953, at St. Mary’s Church in Newport, Rhode Island. Following their honeymoon in Mexico, he was recovering from a back injury and she encouraged him to write a biography, Profiles in Courage, for which he received a Pulitzer Prize.

Seven years after tying the knot, John F. Kennedy became the youngest president of The United States of America. His youth was felt as a pleasant change in the political scene and he and his wife made a perfect team whose main goal became the well-being of the American people.

JFK and Jackie welcomed four children together, Caroline Kennedy, John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr, and two other children who both died shortly after birth.

Since they had toddlers, Jackie went on a mission to restore and preserve the White House as well as turn it into more children-friendly place with a tree-house and swings.

Unfortunately, Jackie’s life changed forever when President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, in Dallas Texas. In his honor, she created the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

She was left heartbroken. The fairytale ended and she decided to stay out of the spotlight. Then, in 1968, Jackie married Greek shipping magnate, Aristotle Onassis. In 1975, Onassis passed away, and Jackie was left a widow again.

Until her passing in May, 1994, the former First Lady worked as an editor. She was laid to rest next to JFK at the Arlington National Cemetery, outside of Washington D.C.

Youtube/National Geographic Society

Jackie was a woman adored by millions. Always soft-spoken and grounded, she is until this day considered a very important historical figure.

Those close to her describe her as a loving human being. Her former bodyguard Clint Hill revealed details of the former First Lady’s private life which make us love her even more.

Hill said that when he was assigned to protect Jackie, he wasn’t happy at all because he expected to accompany her to ballet, fashion shows, and tea parties. But it didn’t take much for him to realize that she wasn’t a typical First Lady.

“She wanted the children to be brought up as normal children. Nothing special. The agents were to treat them as if they were just one of their own. If the kids fell down, they got up. You didn’t help them. They had to learn all this stuff on their own. She wanted to avoid as much publicity as she could for the children and for herself,” he explained.

“Oh, she was a great mother. She was very concerned about them, about their education. She formed a school there in the White House so that Caroline could go to school and had a bunch of several young classmates brought in from outside, from all walks of life. And it was right up on the third floor of the White House, had two teachers. They used to play out on the south grounds,” he added.

Youtube/Movieclips

One time, while she was on holiday at Squaw Island, she realized that Hill’s two children were around the same age as her children. Although he had taken the family with him while protecting Jackie, he wasn’t able to spend time with them. Jackie then told him to bring his kids and let them play with her children. He quite liked the idea, but he had to say no.

“I finally convinced her; I said, ‘This just isn’t a good idea. I’m a government employee. You’re the wife of the president. They’re the president’s children. I don’t think it’d be a very good idea for my two children to be playing with your two children, and something should happen.’ She finally understood the problem and said, ‘Okay.’”

Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images

When President Kennedy was shot, Hill was the one who climbed onto the car and made sure no photographs were taken of the killing. He then drove Jackie to the hospital. She was utterly heartbroken and confused, but she still found the strength to speak to Hill.

“She said, ‘Oh, what’s going to happen to you now, Mr. Hill?’ She was so much more concerned about my wellbeing and that of the other agents that were involved, that she wanted to make sure that we were going to be okay,” Hill shared with JFK Library.

“And I told her, ‘I’ll be okay, Mrs. Kennedy. I’ll be okay.’ She hadn’t changed clothes. She hadn’t cleaned up. She hadn’t done anything, she just was in shock. And she was more concerned about us than she was about herself.”

We love you, Jackie, and we are forever thankful for everything you did for the country as a First Lady.

The personal life of Tucker Carlson, the host of the most-watched show “Tucker Carlson Tonight”

Tucker Swanson McNear Carlson, the host of the most-watched cable news show in the United States, Tucker Carlson Tonight, has gained over 3.7 million followers on Twitter. He has worked as a political analyst for Fox News since 2009, both as a guest and a guest host, before he launched his own show that attracted millions of Americans.

Wikipedia Commons / Gage Skidmore

Becoming more and more popular with each episode of his show, people became more and more interested in his personal life. If you are eager to learn more about this successful journalist, author, political commentator and columnist, stay with us.

When he was just 6 years old, Tucker’s mother, Lisa McNear Lombardi, who was an artist, divorced his father and left the family, so he and his brother grew up with their dad.

In fact, it was his father, Dick Carlson, who suggested Tucker should try himself as a journalist because he was a famous journalist and the director of Voice of America himself, so wanting his son to follow into his footsteps wasn’t surprising.

Tucker, however, graduated from Trinity College of Connecticut in 1991, with a BA in History. Before that, he studied in Switzerland, at the elite college at Lac Leman from where he was kicked out for reasons still unknown after which he attended boarding school St. George’s School, in Middletown, Road Island.

After finishing college, Tucker dreamed of becoming part of the CIA, but failed to get the job. It was then that his father said to him, “You should consider journalism. They’ll take anybody,” according to Columbia Journalism Review. This didn’t seem like a bad idea and Tucked took his dad’s advice which later turned to be the best thing to do having in mind the popularity he enjoys nowadays.

His first job as a journalist was that of a fact-reviewer in Policy Review.

“Tucker was an enterprising, hard-working shoe-leather reporter,” his former colleague, Adam Myerson, said.

Wikipedia Commons / Gage Skidmore

During his early days on TV, Tucker’s “trademark” were his colorful bow ties, he later ditched. “If you wear a bow tie, it’s like [wearing] a middle finger around your neck; you’re just inviting scorn and ridicule… the number of people screaming the F-word at me… it wore me down after a while so I gave in and became conventional,” he said.

People’s favorite host has been married to the love of his life, Susan Andrews, for almost 30 years. What is interesting is that the two met when they were both just 15 years old. Speaking of those days, Tucker told People how Susan was “the cutest 10th grader in America.”

Hope Gregory

Before proposing to her, Tucker asked Susan’s dad, who was a respected man, for her hand in marriage. Today, he says he simply can’t imagine his life without her. Honestly, the two make a truly charming couple.

Tucker and Susan are parents of four daughters and a son.

Facebook / Fox and friends

His children, whom Tucker calls his “little angels” keep a low profile. Tucker wrote about his son once in a column, but avoids to speak of them. However, he confesses how he “forbids” his son from watching Oprah Winfrey because he believes her beliefs are anti-male and can affect his self-confidence. “When I had a son, I stopped watching Oprah because it was just too anti-male, and I felt like I did not want to bring him up in a home where Oprah was constantly attacking men,” he said.

“And remember, keep your boys away from Oprah or it will make them feel bad about being male. It’s absolutely true. Keep your girls away from rap, keep your boys away from Oprah. And everybody will be fine,” Tucker added.

The FOX News‘ primetime anchor is supporting the charity Horton’s Kids, which helps young people at risk from Washington D.C.

An event which took place back in 2000 could easily ruin the host’s career and marriage after a woman accused him of rape. Shortly after, he was cleared of the accusations as it was determined he wasn’t at the Kentucky hamburger restaurant where the alleged rape took place. The woman later confessed that she was suffering from schizophrenia and was delusional.

In 2018, the family went through another unpleasant event when someone tried breaking into their home. At the time, Tucker’s wife was home alone. She locked herself in the pantry and called 911 as the attacker was throwing himself at the front door and cracked it.

Speaking of the incident, Tucker described it as a treat and told Washington Post: “They weren’t asking me to change anything, they weren’t protesting a policy or advocating for legislation. They were threatening me and my family and telling me to leave my own neighborhood in the city that I grew up in.”

Tucker has a picture perfect life with his children and his loving wife of more than 30 years by his side.

Former Baywatch star Erika Eleniak looks absolutely stunning at 52

With all the shows about doctors, lawyers, and cops, Baywatch, the iconic show depicting the everyday adventures of a group of lifeguards was a true refreshment back in the day.

Among all the characters we all loved so much was the beautiful blonde lifeguard Shauni McClain played by actress Erika Eleniak. When she appeared on the show, she took everyone’s breath away thus producers decided to upgrade her role and her character was taken under the wing of Jill Riley, played by Shawn Weatherley.

However, once the show took a bit of a different direction and Pamela Anderson became part of the cats, Erika believed she should take a break and eventually leave it.

Speaking of Baywatch, Erika said in a recent interview: “I loved being there, and I loved the role, especially the second season. I got some great storylines. I really got to dig my chops into some good acting roles. We did Baywatch to be a serious look at lifeguarding.”

Over time, she somehow started feeling uncomfortable being part of the show and said, “For me, as soon as it became even sexier, when it became syndicated, it was definitely not comfortable. It ended up being a bit of a push and pull between myself and the producer sometimes. So when Pamela came on, it was just the perfect fit for Baywatch – she was definitely footloose and fancy-free and loved being more of an exhibitionist than I did.”

Erika was part of other series and films as well, including E.T. the Extra Terrestrial, where she starred at the age of just 12, the horror film The Blob, the 1993 film adaption of The Beverly Hillbillies, and more.

Today, the beautiful actress is out of the spotlight and doesn’t appear on screen, but she’s active running her podcast The Spiritual Alchemy Podcast. She’s also very active on Instagram where she posts photos of her and her family.

This year, Erika, who is happily married to key grip Roch Daigle with whom she has a daughter, is 52 years old. Honestly, based on her looks, we would never guess it. She defies age and looks absolutely stunning.

Stranger hands mom note on train after her son falls asleep praising her for her parenting

Bringing up little ones is a hard time, between the tantrums and the crying and screaming that naturally occurs when they test how far they can go, even a little arguing as they grow up is all in with the growing up deal!

A child making a scene is for sure what no one wants to deal with in public though. In this case, a young single mom from England called Sammie Welch, learned very fast that keeping her little boy occupied is the very best method to avoid all the problems and the frustration!

Screenshot via YouTube

Sammie with her three years old son Rylan at her side and a stranger right next to her, absolutely did her best to keep her little boy occupied during the long train ride. She didn’t want Rylan being naughty or having a temper tantrum during the journey.

To make the best of the situation Sammie played games with her little boy and asked him about his day and even gave him a quiet little lesson about manners in public and especially on places like the train!

In fact, the more they chatted together the more comfortable they were together and relaxed. He was an absolute little angel thanks to his mom’s actions!

Before the train reached her stop the guy next to her got up to leave the train, but as he got up he handed her something, it was a moment before Sammie realized what it was, it was a note wrapped around a five-pound note!!

Quietly she read the note to herself:

“Have a drink on me, you’re a credit to your generation, polite and teaching the little boy good manners.”

The guy had also written in the back of the note too!

Facebook/Silver Surfers

The lovely word he had written on the back of the note was:

“P.S. I have a daughter your age, someone did the same for her once. Hope when she has children she is as good a mother as you.”

It was such a lovely note and a great compliment too, the best compliment anyone could give to Sammie, she really pours her heart and soul into raising her little boy, and the note made her feel completely awesome!

Sammie broke into tears; such was her emotional response to the letter she read. She felt so inspired by the note and the kind gesture by this guy she didn’t know. She didn’t want this guy’s kind actions to go without thanks!

She posted to Facebook with photos of the note and even asked local newspapers to help her find him to say thanks. Her determination paid off and finally, she found him.

The wonderful stranger was Ken Saunders, 50-year-old, who worked as a project manager, and as his note had said he was a father to a woman about Sammie’s age too!

It was super lucky that Ken saw in his newspaper, one glorious morning, the story about his note, he asked the paper to put Sammie and him in touch with each other!

He described to the newspaper that moment when he realized that this small action in his note and the small gift of money mean something so big to single mothers!

He said:

“I just couldn’t believe it. There was this massive story. It was quite surreal and I texted my daughter Romani to warn her I’d done something embarrassing yet again.”

Sammie, Rylan, and Ken were at last reunited, Sammie had the chance to say thank you properly and she could explain in her own words.

She said:

“I worry I’m not doing a good job with Rylan all the time – all the time. I worry, am I too hard on him? Am I too soft on him? I try so hard to get it right. So for someone to say I’m doing a good job means everything.”

Ken just showed us all that even a tiny little gesture can have a lasting and profound effect on someone. Sammie feels confident about her parenting with Rylan, something that most mothers really strive hard to achieve.

The peculiar story of Ivone Weldon and how one mistake made her famous

Ivone Weldon’s name first appeared in the media after the premiere of The Expendables 2 when her striking looks attracted the attention of many. In fact, when she walked on the red carpet, many confused her with Sylvester Stallone’s mother, Jackie Stallone.

As the cast members were spotted on the premiere in the company of their families, magazines reported that Sylvester Stallone was also accompanied by his loved ones, wife Jennifer Flavin and daughters Scarlet, Sophia, and Sistine. Of course, media outlets wrote that then 91-year-old Jackie was also there to support her son.

Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage

Well, Jackie was always someone who made headlines because of many reasons. Despite being Sly’s mom, she was also an astrologer who never hesitated to scold her ex-husbands publicly on various TV shows. She always spoke her mind when it came to Sly’s girlfriends too and wasn’t afraid to tell everyone around why she wasn’t fond of them. Jackie was also involved in the beauty industry with her lines of face masks and other beauty products.

However, what Jackie was probably most known for were the many plastic surgeries she went through during her life. One thing is certain, her obsession with the surgeries did help her defy her age.

When the media spotted the elderly woman with a large trout pout and slim figure on The Expendables 2 premiere, they couldn’t help but believe that was Jackie herself. The woman did look quite younger than Sly’s mother, but everyone believed she had simply undergone another surgery.

Gregg DeGuire/WireImage

However, after the stir the photos caused, it was revealed that the woman who was a spitting image of Jackie Stallone was Ivone Weldon.

On the day of the premiere, Jackie stayed home to take care of her daughter who felt ill. ”I’d actually been on the phone to the paramedics that night because she was so bad. There was no question of me ever going to that premiere. I’d told Sylvester that I wasn’t going to be able to make it because I had to be with his sister,” Jackie told Daily Mail.

Speaking of Sly’s reaction, Jackie added: ”He got the shock of his life when he got told that his mother was up ahead of him, making a spectacle of herself. That’s the last place I would have been.”

After the social media was flooded with photos of Ivone, Jackie wasn’t happy.

“What an ugly woman. Fat arms. Trout pout. Horse face. I thought a face like that went out with the Ice Age. And those bandy legs! If I had a kid with those legs, I would break them and have them put in braces,” she told Daily Mail of her lookalike and continued: “If I had a face like that I wouldn’t leave the house — or at least not without a paper bag over my head. In fact, if I had a face like that I’d probably shoot myself. To be honest, in the end — after I got over the shock — I found it funny. I haven’t had a lot to laugh about recently.”

As everyone though that this confusion with the photos of Ivone was behind, they started reappearing online once again following Jackie’s passing in 2020. The news of her death was announced with photos of Ivone by some media outlets.

Gregg DeGuire/WireImage

Although not much is known about Ivone, at least the public got to learn what this woman was doing at the premiere. It turned out that she is the mother of one of the producers of the action film, Les Weldon, whose writing and producing credits include more than 70 films.

The tragic life of Gloria Swanson – her first husband tricked her to get an abortion

Gloria Swanson ruled Hollywood for many years. She was adored by millions and was considered “The Queen of Screen.”

Born in 1899 to a father who worked as a civilian official in the US Army Transport Service, Gloria traveled a lot with her family. She learned a lot about other places and cultures and always knew she would be famous one day. She dreamed of becoming an opera singer, but one visit of the Essanay Movie Studio with her aunt in the summer of 1914 changed it all for this incredible woman.

When she was still just a teenager, she started working as an extra for the studio and was paid around $13 a week. During an occasion, she found herself in a queue with a group of other teenagers who were waiting for the great Charlie Caplin to examine their talent. Eventually, Gloria was the one who was hired. Her happiness, however, lasted for an hour because it took that much time for Chaplin to fire her. “So I lost my chance to work with Chaplin, and that was a shame because I could have learned so much about comedy,” she said back in the day.

The truth is that not getting that chance to work with Chaplin at the time turned to be the best thing that could happen to her. “I …considered his rejection a real compliment,” she wrote in her autobiography. “I would have been mortified if anybody I knew had ever seen me get kicked in the pants…by an odd sprite in a hobo outfit.”

After her parents separated, Gloria and her mother moved to Hollywood. Soon after, she was recruited by Famous Players-Lasky, which eventually became Paramount. The studio helped Gloria turn into a massive superstar. All of a sudden, everyone was enchanted with this femme fatale. It was enough for her name to appear in a film for huge number of people to go and buy a ticket to see her on screen.

Gloria was featured in a number of classic films such as Don’t Change Your Husband, Bluebeard’s 8th wife, Zaza, and Madame Sans-Gêne.

In 1926, she decided her work with Paramount should come to an end. In order to keep her, the studio offered her $1 million a year, which was an incomprehensive amount of money back in the day, but she refused to stay. Instead, she joined United Artist, which was founded by Charlie Caplin, among others, and premised on allowing actors to control their own interests, rather than being dependent upon commercial studios.

Gloria was nominated for an Academy Award three times, for the films Sadie Thompson, The Trespasser, and Sunset Boulevard.

“When I think about doing a character, I find that I see in my mind’s eye a person I’m reading about in a script,” Gloria Swanson once said of her acting. “I give that person like a painter… or like a sculptor, who before even making one cut with his knife can see what he wants in a piece of stone. So I’m a canvas: it’s in the mind’s eye, and then you transfer it to the canvas with certain tools.”

Youtube/Movieclips

Gloria Swanson was married six times. She was also involved in a relationship with JFK’s father who was said to have financed her films. Her relationships with men were often troublesome. Her daughter, Michelle, once told The Guardian of her mother’s love life: “My mother’s relations with men were mostly disastrous. She was married six times, and she wanted to be eternally in love. Her marriage to my father, Michael Farmer, an Irish playboy, just over two years. Ultimately, she was looking for men to dominate her, which never really happened.

“Men came into her life like machos, and they left like poodles sitting up for a biscuit. She was incredibly feminine in appearance, but she had a masculine mind, she had a dominating personality,” Michelle added. “She wanted to do all the jobs [on the set] – the lighting, camerawork, everything, she made sure what she said was the law.”

Gloria married her first husband, Berry Wallace, when she was just 17 years old. The marriage lasted two years during which she got pregnant. Despite her age and his heavy drinking, she wanted to give birth to the child. Unfortunately, he slipped her some medicine which caused her to abort the child.

Her second husband, Herbert Somborn, was a movie company president. While married with him, she gave birth to a daughter named Gloria. He accused the actress of infidelity and claimed she cheated on him with at least 13 men. The year she divorced him, she adopted a son named Joseph.

In 1925, she married Henry de La Falaise. At the time, she was on the top of her career and though that giving birth to another child could negatively affect her career so when she got pregnant, she secretly aborted the child.

Gloria went on to tie the knot three more times, giving birth to her daughter Michelle with her fourth husband, Michael Farmer.

“The Queen of Screen” passed away at the age of 84, in 1984 as a result of heart ailment. At the time of her death, she had a net worth of $10.

“When I was young, no man my age made enough money to support me in the style expected of me,” Gloria Swanson once told The Guardian. “There’s no sense kidding myself. I love all the pomp and luxury and style. When I die, my epitaph should read: She Paid The Bills. That’s the story of my private life.”

One thing is certain, Gloria Swanson was larger than life.

No one shows up for 6-year-old’s birthday party – then mom shares picture and the community steps up

What was supposed to be the best day of his life turned into a devastating experience for one boy named Teddy. He was turning 6 years old and his parents offered him to take him to Disney World or Lego Land, but he chose to celebrate it with his friends instead.

His mother booked a table at Peter Piper Pizza and gave Teddy’s teacher 32 invitations to hand them to every child from the class some two weeks before the big day. More than half of the children’s parents said they would take the kids to the party.

On the day of Teddy’s birthday, mom Sia prepared goodie bags for her son’s friends and ordered a bunch of pizzas. Everyone was looking forward to have a great time, but none of the classmates showed up. The family waited for more than hour, but the friends were nowhere to be seen.

Sia was left heartbroken. She was feeling devastated for her son who was very sad on the day that was supposed to be a fun one.

Source: Inside Edition

“I was bummed, I was bummed out for sure,” Teddy’s dad told the New York Post. “Teddy, the biggest thing for him was having his classmates there, so not seeing them show up an hour into the party was disappointing.” In order to cheer their son up, the parents tried to distract him with games such as arcade.

Sia decided to take a photo of Teddy which she shared online in order to remind everyone that things like this should never happen to anyone. She, however, didn’t expect for the photo of sad Teddy to go viral and attract that much attention. She even regretted sharing it when she realized the amount of exposure it received.

Hundreds of people posted messages wishing Teddy a happy birthday and many even sent presents. Among those who wanted to get involved in making Teddy’s day a bit better were the Phoenix Suns and the Phoenix Rising MLS team who invited the family to their upcoming games.

Out of all the parents who didn’t bring their children to the party, only one called Sia to apologize.

As much as this story made us feel disappointed, it serves as a reminder that we should be more thoughtful and more considerate.

Three firefighters from the same fire station celebrate becoming dads within 24 hours

There was a triple reason for celebration at the Fredericksburg, Virginia, fire station after three fellow firefighters all became fathers within 24 hours.

When they shared with each other that their wives were expecting babies, the three joked that it would be awesome if their sons were born on the same day, but they never imagined that it could turn into reality.

The babies were all born at the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.

“All of our doctors use Spotsylvania Regional and the nursing staff have been extremely pleasant, passionate and caring,” Kyle Dean, one of the new dads said.

“The staff truly make you feel like they care. From everyone that enters the room, from the cleaning staff, nurses, NICU, et cetera.”

Michael Irive, one of the dads said that when his wife went into labor and he took her to the hospital, he told the nurses: “Just a heads up — two of my guys are coming as well.” The dads then ended up with the nickname from the nursing staff as the fab three!

The proud fathers posed with their bundles of joy and said they hope the little ones would end up being friends. They also said that once their sons are a bit older, they would take them to Fort Belvoir Fire and Emergency Services at Fort Belvoir Army Base, where they work, so that the boys can hang out together.

Kyle, who has “handful” of kids gave his colleagues advice and told them: “Definitely take advantage of it and don’t blink because it goes by fast.”

Michael, on the other hand, added: “The biggest thing is to be present as much as you can, (especially) with our schedule – because like Kyle Frederick says it goes by in a flash. They grow up so quickly so be there as much as you can and enjoy the moments.”

Congratulations on the additions to your families.

Stranger pays $350 for plane ticket of a soldier who’s been stuck in airport for days

Traveling over the holidays can be both expensive and nerve-racking, as well as notoriously busy. The queues are long, no matter if you try to check-in your bags, get through the security, or buy something at the stores. Plus, if there is a flight delay, staying at the airport can be boring and tiring. In order to avoid these issues, it might be wise to take a flight a day or two prior to the holiday and avoid all the crowd.

Unfortunately, that’s not always possible, especially if you are serving in the military and you get an approval to fly home at the very last minute. Keaton Tilson is a young soldier who’s been part of the military for eight months now. That means it’s been that long since he hasn’t seen his family, and now when he was about to travel home for the Memorial Day weekend, things didn’t turn as he expected. He spent some time at the airport, and it seemed he wasn’t about to be taking off soon. But then, a stranger approached and brought a glimmer of hope.

Keaton was stationed at Ford Hood in Texas, and got a green light to head to St. Luis for a 4-day weekend on the Thursday evening before Memorial Day.

He spent the night at the Dallas-Forth International Airport with a standby ticket in his hands, hoping to catch the 5 am flight. As he looked at the empty plane he felt happy to be heading home, but people started taking the empty seats, and sadly, none was earmarked with his name.

Two days and lots of standby flights later, this Army mechanic found himself no closer to getting home. And as he was trying to come up with a solution, a man named Josh Rainey, who happened to overhear Keaton’s conversation with the gate agent, offered his ticket for the flight leaving in 10 minutes time. But since departure time was close, the agent told them the transfer of tickets wasn’t an option.

Keaton said thank you and walked away, but Josh knew there has to be something he could do for the soldier. And that’s when he decide to purchase Keaton a $341 ticket. That was the most amazing thing anyone has ever done for Keaton, who couldn’t hide his happiness to be going home to see his family. As for Josh, he believes that’s money well spent.

Josh told Fox 2 News:

“He walked away and came back and asked if he could hug me, and I think we both had to fight back the tears after that. It was pennies, pennies on the dollar compared to what I got back from that hug.”

Keaton and Josh discovered they had a mutual friend after the quick chat they had, and that’s how Keaton’s mother tracked Josh down once her son came home and shared the story with her and other family members. The mother felt it was an amazing act of kindness and she had to share it with the world.

Keaton was glad to learn that people still have deep respect for those serving the country.

“I’m very appreciative because if it wasn’t for him, I probably wouldn’t be here right now. Honestly I feel like I would still be at the airport because it’s Memorial Day weekend.”

Josh, on the other hand, was more than happy to assist someone in need. He is a very special man with a kind heart who is always there to provide a helping hand. But helping a soldier was special, because his father served in the armed forces for 30 years.

Dad talks to his baby in the belly – when she’s born, her reaction to his voice is the most adorable ever

Expecting a child must be the best feeling ever. The anticipation of meeting the bundle of joy grows bigger and bigger with each passing day, just like the mother’s belly.

What many parents-to-be don’t know is that the baby could hear and react to their parents’ voices as well as to music while still in the womb. Classical music, for once, is believed to enhance the baby’s intelligence and provides comfort.

One dad-to-be from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, named Flavio Dantas, never skipped a day without talking to his wife’s belly. He knew his unborn daughter could hear his singing. According to the baby’s mom, Tarsila Rosa, her belly would move each time Flavio sang.

When the couple’s little princess Antonella finally arrived on August 11, which happens to be Father’s Day in Brazil, she was confused, just like any newborn out there. But once she heard a familiar voice singing to her, that of her daddy, she put the most beautiful smile on her tiny face. You can see her smiling on the photo above.

Looking at his daughter smiling at him, Flavio couldn’t hide the tears of joy that kept rolling down his face.

“And it is that moment that people forget all the pain and focus on the most sincere smile of all. My princess was born on Father’s Day, ” the proud daddy wrote in a Facebook post.

It’s not surprising that this special moment the family shared vent viral. The photo of baby Antonella shared joy around the world. We wish her happy childhood!

Couple has 3 sets of twins all under the age of five, but that’s not the craziest part

Carrie and Craig Kosinski have always wanted to be parents. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen as easily as they thought it would be. After trying to get pregnant for some time, Carrie was told she couldn’t conceive naturally because she had severe endometriosis. This, however, didn’t crush their dreams because adoption was always an option.

One day, Carrie and Craig got a call from a friend who asked them if it was possible for them to take in baby twins whose mother couldn’t take care of because she had twins already. Initially, the plan was for the little ones to stay with the Kosinski for a short period of time but days turned into weeks and the couple eventually adopted the siblings shortly after they turned three months old.

Around a year later, the biological mother of Carrie and Craig’s adopted twins called them and told them she decided to give her other twins for adoption. She believed the Kosinski would be the perfect parents.

Both Carrie and Craig gave this idea a lot of thought. They kept wondering if it would be possible for them to take care of four children, but as they wanted the siblings to be raised together, they accepted to welcome two-year-old twins Cece and J.J.

“It was a difficult decision. We were trying to get pregnant ourselves. But they were siblings so that was definitely was part of our consideration — we wanted to keep the siblings together,” Carrie told The Journal Times.

Youcaring

In September 2015, nearly two years after adopting the first pair of twins, Carrie started feeling odd and visited a doctor thinking something wasn’t right with her. To her surprise, doctors told her she was pregnant. The shock was even bigger when she learned she was carrying two babies.

They knew this pregnancy was a gift from God. Giving birth to twins would mean they would have six children under their roof, and the thought of it was an exciting one.

”We were very shocked. We were like ‘oh my God we are going to have three sets of twins. What are we going to do with ourselves?’” Carrie recalled in an interview with Inside Edition.

The biggest surprise of all came when Carrie gave birth to her babies on a very special date, February 28. Believe it or not, all of her adopted children were born on the same date. Imagine six children celebrating their birthdays together. “God obviously has a sense of humor,” the happy mother said.

The entire community was excited for this family and in order to help them with the growing expenses and high costs they organized fundraisers through pages like GoFundMe and AdoptTogether.

”I have to be very organized and keep to a schedule, or things get out of hand,” Carrie says.

”We believe that because God adopted us into His family that we were meant to adopt these children into our family,” this mom says. ”It’s such a huge blessing to us. We love all our children the same. We wouldn’t want our lives to be any different.”

Eventually, Carrie and Craig welcomed another child into their lives and are now parents of seven. What a blessing!
