Dad Teaches Stranger A Lesson After Making Rude Comment

Brent Gehring’s daughter Emma is only 6-years-old. And despite her young age, she will soon start her seventh round of chemotherapy.

Yes… her seventh round. The chemotherapy is needed to fight a brain tumor.

Most people can’t tell by looking at Emma that she’s sick. But right now her condition makes it difficult for her to get around without a walker. This is why Brent has to sometimes carry her.

Brent knew that carrying around a 6-year-old might not be easy. He knew that watching his little girl and his wife go through such a trying experience wouldn’t be easy either.

What he didn’t expect was for people on the streets to pass judgment on his family instead of minding their own business.

But it did happen when he and his family went out to dinner one night and he shared the story on Facebook which ended up going viral.

“My daughter and I were leaving dinner the other night at Union Oyster House in Boston, MA. A dinner donated to us by an amazing business and friend that has been in our ‘family’ for years,” he explained. “When I crossed the street carrying her, she can’t walk without the use of her walker. A man yelled at me from 30’ away: ‘What the F*+k?’ He yelled. ‘Make her walk. That’s what is wrong with kids today.’”

Ahh, the age-old “that’s what’s wrong with kids today” bit. We hear angry bitter adults making the same tired argument decade after decade.

The same adults who fail to accept that they are the generation responsible for the raising the very same kids they are complaining about.

Brent was pretty pissed. Not only is this guy cursing and him and his daughter, he is judging his parenting style which is none of his damn business. At this point, Brent had to decide whether to sink down to this guy’s level and beat the crap at him, scream in his face, or teach him a valuable lesson. He chose the latter.

“I had a choice to make at that time. Can I make myself feel better by screaming at him or can I teach him something about life? I won’t lie to you and tell you that it was an easy choice but I got inches from his face, with my daughter in my arms, and quietly asked him if he was referring to my daughter. ‘Hell yes’ he said,” Brent explains in his post.

Let’s just say this guy ended up getting his ass kicked. Not physically, but by the Universe teaching him a lesson he sorely needed to learn.

This is what Brent told the man:

“My daughter has been carrying my faith and my strength for the past 5 years since she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. She can’t walk but I am happy to carry her because of all the amazing things she has taught me through the years. So I would advise you not address my daughter in any way other than respectful,” he said.

The two ended up having a good talk that ended with them both crying. I bet that guy didn’t feel so tough hysterically crying in a public parking lot.

“This story is only important if it serves as a reminder that you don’t always know the whole story so don’t judge others,” Brent said.

But Brent says he learned a lesson that day too. He said the situation served as a reminder that “good can come from any situation.”

“This post doesn’t come looking for pity for Emma or my family. What I am asking is for a change in today’s world… a change in the way we think. The world is what we as people make it. We have the power to make days better or worse for others. I choose to attempt to make lives better,” he said.

We’ll bet that Emma learned a great lesson that day too from the wonderful example her father made for her.

Little Boy Shows Up At Man’s Door When His Dad’s Deployed With Request Man Can’t Refuse

No one can replace a parent. But what would you do if you couldn’t see one of your parents for a year or more?

This can be especially hard on young children. They look to their parents for guidance. They look to them as role models and teachers.

One little boy was missing his dad so much he found a way to fill the void.

Brian Kelly is just a little kid. His dad is in the Air Force, and he has been deployed to Syria. The boy and his mom stayed behind, but they both miss Brian’s Dad dearly.

“When Dan [Brian’s dad] gets back, Brian’s going to cry and run to him with open arms,”

He is fortunate to have warm, friendly neighbors, and he has turned to them for help in his hour of need.

Molly and Dean Cravens are the best neighbors a boy could ask for. One day Dean was outside working, he had come in to cool off when suddenly the doorbell rang, and the man saw Brian standing on the porch.

With his head down and very little eye contact he asked if he could help with the yard work. This is what he used to do with his dad. The neighbor happily agreed.

Now Brian shows up to the neighbor’s house every day to do “dad stuff.”

Brian helps Dean clean up the yard and is always ready to help Dean. This bonding time with Mr Cravens has helped Brian immensely.

The two are a perfect fit, because Dean has 3 daughters but no sons. He loves getting the chance to do “dad activities” with a boy.

“This is our little neighbor,” she wrote. “His dad is deployed in Syria and every day he comes to the door asking to work with our dad. Appreciate today.” Molly recently posted on twitter.

Photographer Pictures Father With Tears After Watching Newborn Only He Claims “That’s Not Why I Was Crying”

A standout amongst the most wonderful minutes in life is the point at which you respect your tyke into the world. A surge an of feelings hit – depletion from the birthing procedure, energy about having somewhat one to look after and freeze with regards to being accountable for another life for whatever remains of your own.

This extraordinary blend of feelings more often than not makes unseasoned parents shed a couple of tears as they hold their infant – however when this new dad started to cry in the healing facility room, nobody could’ve speculated the genuine explanation for his peaceful wails…

The couple’s birthing picture taker, Kristie Perez, caught the minute this new dad separated in tears and later addressed him about it. Notwithstanding, when Kristie’s customer uncovered the genuine reason he separated before her camera focal point, she knew she needed to impart it to the world.

Kristie posted the spouse’s story and a progression of staggering pictures from that mystical day with the Love What Matters page.

“He helplessly watched his wife vomit profusely for 285+ days. He witnessed her lose 30 pounds in pregnancy not being able to nourish herself due to Hyperemesis Gravidarum & preeclampsia.

She was hospitalized 4 times for dehydration throughout her pregnancy. Ate more dinners on the front steps of their home than he could count because any scent literally made her ill.

After months of simply being there for her as much as possible, he supported her during birth. I told him I captured him crying seeing his son and he said, ‘That’s not why I was crying.’

“Puzzled, I asked what he meant.

He teared up again and said, ‘This is the first time I have seen her smile in 10 months.’

Men, please understand how powerful your empathy can be.

To all of the mothers who have traumatic pregnancies and still find a way to smile… thank you for sacrificing yourself and enduring to bring your precious child into the world. That is no easy feat.”

Moms are extreme, imposing creatures and nothing flaunts this quality more than birth. This present spouse’s undeniable love and reverence for his better half is something all men can acknowledge.

Conceiving an offspring isn’t simple – and basically regarding the hardships that accompany pregnancy is unimaginably useful, from a lady’s point of view!

Senior citizen gets a job at Walmart – two hours later he’s fired for a very unusual reason

This is quiet an unusual story of a senior citizen who had one of the shortest careers at Walmart.
It was just 2 hours into his first day when all of a sudden he got fired. What was the reason on would wonder? Well lets just say it will make you burst with laughter.

Many people who have read this story believe that his boss took the correct action, but others are convinced he should have backed up his employee.

I am pretty sure you all will have your own opinion, but let’s start at the very beginning of the events that took place.

The elderly man had served in the military and had only recently retired. His life now revolved around sitting at home alone with no one to talk to, he was having difficulty adjusting to this type of lifestyle as he was used to having contact with people. So he took it upon himself to go and find a part-time job.

After numerous days of job hunting he eventually landed a job as a greeter with the well known American discount store Walmart. Unfortunately his time there did not last long.

Below is the hilariously funny story of how it happened (in his own words):

“So after landing my new job as a Walmart greeter, a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day…

About two hours into my first day on the job, a very loud, mean-looking woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

I said pleasantly, ‘Good morning and welcome to Walmart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?’ Of course, her children were years apart, and while they shared common features, they certainly didn’t look like each other.

The woman stopped yelling long enough to say, ‘Hell no, they ain’t twins. The oldest one’s nine, and the other one’s seven. Why the hell would you think they’re twins? Are you blind or stupid?’

So I replied, ‘I’m neither blind nor stupid, Ma’am. I just can’t believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Walmart.’

My supervisor said I probably wasn’t cut out for this line of work.”

Teacher asked 2nd graders what invention they wish didn’t exist. One girl’s answer broke her heart.

Second grade teacher Jen Beason asked her students to write about an invention they wished had never been invented.

Four of Beason’s students wrote that they wished their parent’s phones had never been invented. Why? Because their parents spend more time staring at their phones than they do talking to their kids.

Beason posted about her students’ responses in a Facebook post, “I don’t like the phone because my [parents] are on their phone every day … I hate my mom’s phone and I wish she never had one,” said a student in a picture Beason’s posted.

Many others weighed in. A fellow teacher wrote, “We had a class discussion about Facebook and every single one of the students said their parents spend more time on FB then they do talking to their child. It was very eye opening for me,” Abbey Fauntleroy commented.

It’s a sobering reminder that our kids need our time and our attention. It’s time to put down our phones and plug in our children’s lives.

Set aside time each night to devote to your children. Put the phone away, out of reach, so you won’t be tempted to use it. Your children deserve your undivided attention and time.

60-year-old wife gets makeover as birthday gift – husband gasps when he sees her incredible transformation

Age is just a number, as they say. But we all know that isn’t strictly true. As we grow older, it isn’t just the number that changes. Wrinkles creep in, you start to find grey hairs and your skin begins to sag. There’s nothing wrong with any of that, of course – there are plenty of beautiful pensioners out there!

60 year old Cindy didn’t feel beautiful. As her birthday approached, she decided it was time for a makeover. She wanted the image she saw in the mirror to match how she felt on the inside. So she contacted makeover expert Christopher Hopkins, and asked him to make her beautiful.

The result left both Cindy and her husband in shock…

Cindy hadn’t visited a salon in a while, and her hair felt dull and lifeless. On top of that, she had no idea how to do her make up to compliment her age. She hoped that Christopher could help her with that.

Before Cindy sat in the stylist’s chair, she and her husband described their expectations on camera. Cindy had a lot of expectations, and her husband said that he didn’t want to influence what she decided to do with her look, only support her.

“I don’t want to give her my influences, this is her gift. She’s the canvas, she can paint the canvas the way she wants,” he explains.

Cindy wanted to be beautiful, but she still wanted to look natural. She also wanted to learn a simple make up routine that she could fix herself in the mornings.

Christopher cut and colored her hair. Then he showed her how to apply simple make up that compliments her skin type.

When everything was ready, Cindy’s husband got to see the final result. Do you think he was surprised?

He Was Mad When His Rich Boss Ignored Him, But Was Shocked To Learn This

Reader Marie K. sent us recently forwarded us this story. It’s worth taking a second of your day to read.

My boss drove a luxury car everyday, and it was my duty to greet him and to open the gates for him, as I worked as a watchman in his villa. But he never responded back to my greetings.

One day he saw me opening the garbage bags outside the villa in search of any leftover food. But as usual, he never even looked at me, it was like as if he never saw anything.

The very next day I saw a paper bag at the same place, but it was clean and the food inside was covered well. It was fresh, like someone had just brought it from the supermarket. I didn’t care where it came from, I just took the paper bag and I was so happy.

Every day I found this paper bag at the same place with fresh vegetables and all the food we needed at home. This became my daily routine. I was eating and sharing this food with my wife and kids. I was wondering who this fool could be. How could he forget his paper bag full of fresh food everyday?

One day there was a big problem in the villa, and I was told that my boss has died. There were too many guests coming to the villa that day and I didn’t find the bag of food, so I thought that one of the guests must have taken it. But the same thing happened the 2nd day, the 3rd day and the 4th day.

It went on like this for a few weeks and I found it difficult to provide food for my family, so I decided to ask the wife of my boss for a raise in my salary or else I would quit my job as a watchman.

After I told her, she was shocked, and asked me, how come you never complained about your salary for the last 2 years? And why is this salary not enough for you now? I gave her so many excuses but she was never convinced!

Finally in the end, I decided to tell her the truth, I told her the entire story of the bag of groceries, and as to how it was my daily provision. She then asked me when the mystery bags stopped appearing. I told her after the death of her husband. And then I realized that I stopped seeing the paper bag immediately after the death of my boss. Why didn’t I ever think of this before? It was my boss who was providing this for me, all along. I guess I never thought that a person who never even replied to my greetings could ever be so generous.

His wife started to cry, and I told her to please stop crying, and that I’m really sorry that I asked for a raise, I didn’t know that it was your husband who was providing me with the meals, I’ll remain as a watchman and be happy to provide my service.

His wife told me, “I’m crying because I’ve finally found the 7th person my husband was giving this bag full of food. I knew my husband was giving to 7 people everyday, I had already found the 6 people, and all these days I was searching for the 7th person. And today I found out.”

From that day onward, I started to receive the bag full of food again, but this time his son was bringing it to my house and giving it to my hand. But whenever I thanked him, he never replied. Just like his dad!

One day, I told him THANK YOU in a very loud voice! He replied back to me to please not be offended when he doesn’t reply, because he has a hearing problem, just like his dad.”

Police Department’s Donut Shop ‘Serenade’ Goes Viral

Police officers around the nation have been participating in what is called the “Lip Sync Challenge” – and this time it was the Sherman Police Department of Texas who decided to show off their skills.

While we’ve seen many different acts, from “Uptown Funk” to Frozen’s “Do You Want to Build a Snowman,” these officers decided to go a little more old-school and bring in a classic movie scene. Although instead of in a bar, it takes place in a donut shop.

It all begins at Hot N Creamy Donuts where the cops have stopped to grab a snack. The establishment is filled of Sherman PD officers, but there happens to be one pretty lady up at the counter who’s just a regular customer.

A group of 4 men sitting at a table start discussing the Lip Sync Challenge and what they should do for it. But as it turns out, a lot of great ideas have already been taken by other departments and they really want their idea to be unique.

That’s when one of the officers spots the blonde stranger at the counter. His eyes light up as he turns to his fellow officer and says,

“Wow. Hey, look at that… She’s lost that lovin’ feeling.”

The man replies that “no she hasn’t” – but that doesn’t stop the first cop from getting out of his chair and heading towards the customer – and of course Officer “Goose” quickly follows.

Do you know where this one is going by now?

The officer then taps the woman gazing at the pastry items on the shoulder. Looking confused she spins around, and that’s when it gets exciting…

Using a donut instead of a microphone, the officer starts lip syncing to “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin.'” However, it’s not the sound of The Righteous Brothers, he’s mimicking the famous scene from the movie Top Gun lip syncing to Tom Cruise’s voice!

After a moment Officer “Goose” joins in, followed by the entire restaurant full of Sherman PD officers. It’s a classic scene that still makes you blush as the woman has a whole room of people singing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'” just to her.

These officers definitely deserve points for creativity as their Top Gun performance is so much fun to watch. In fact, it’s been viewed more than 7 million times already!

Sometimes a selfie is so fun to take and we have to go back and look at it to remember the amazing moment.

These four sons were together at a Dodger’s baseball game when they decided it would be funny to send their moms a selfie of the four of them together enjoying the game.

The moms were also together at the same time so they created their own selfie to celebrate this moment.

We think it was perfect! They paid attention to every detail right down to the direction of the baseball caps! The moms took every pose to the extreme, the furrowed brow, the clenched fist, the drink, as well as the thumbs up.

Man overhears two soldiers’ whisper on plane, gets to flight attendant as fast as he can

But let’s be honest — it’s sometimes hard to avoid hearing other people’s conversations. Especially in tight spots such as on buses, subways and airplanes.

That’s exactly where this story begins when one passenger happened to overhear another conversation between two men.

After the conversation Denny Kukich, knew what he’d heard was amazing…

Here is his story:

“I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. ‘I’m glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,’ I thought.

Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation.

Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, ‘Which do you like best – beef or chicken?’

‘Chicken,’ I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class.

‘This is your thanks..’

After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. ‘I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.’ He handed me twenty-five dollars

Not long after, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle. He was searching the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me! I noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. He got to my row and stopped, smiled, held out his hand and said, ‘I want to shake your hand.’ Quickly unfastening my seatbelt I stood and took the Captain’s hand.

With a booming voice he said, ‘I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.’ I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers.

Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm.

When we landed I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars!

Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. ‘It will take you some time to reach the base.. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.’

Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers.

As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so little…

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America ‘ for an amount of ‘up to and including my life.’

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.’ ”

Teen presents Harry and Meghan with a hand drawn portrait and they can’t believe their eyes

The newlyweds, Prince Harry and his bride Meghan Markle made their first official trip as a married couple in May landing in Ireland for two days.

The couple got the biggest surprise of their married life when a 19 year old girl presented them with a gift.

19-year-old Chloe Mullins had been preparing to see the newly married princess for several weeks. Princess Diana’s youngest son and Meghan took the time to greet the people of Ireland during their time on the Emerald Island.

Chloe stood in the crowd with a special gift in hand. She stretched her hand out, and caught the Prince’s attention.

Chloe had spent a lot time and energy sketching an image of the happy couple. It was amazing. She is so talented she was hopeful that they would accept her gift.

Nursing home worker reveals real truth about beauty

Nurses have a tough job, not only are the giving meds, taking directions from doctors, answering call bells, and sometimes even serving meals. Good nurses are also therapists. Giving words of encouragement, glimpses of hope and in some cases just a listening ear.

Brandalyn Mae Porter works in a retirement home in Texas, as a nurse. She is clearly one those who clearly has a very positive impact on her residents.

She is known for her simple, yet straightforward way and can make the residents feel at ease.

Brandalyn took a special picture of one of the resident’s hands and now it is spreading online like wildfire.

She was at work helping a resident wash up and asked her if she wanted her nails painted.

Here is her story of that day:

“Today I painted a new resident’s nails at work and as we were going over colors, she mentioned she wanted clear. The only thought that came to my mind was ‘CLEAR?! That’s no fun.’ I asked her why she wanted clear and she said, ‘My hands are ugly, I don’t want to draw attention to them.’

“I then carefully responded with, ‘Your hands tell the story of your life. They tell the story of love, of care and adventure. These hands have touched and held things that most people can only wish to one day.’ And with that, she went with the color pink for her nails.

Sometimes what we are so insecure with, others find beauty in.“

Brandalyn’s beautiful inspiring words finally convinced the lady to paint her nails and not because her hands were beuartiful but because of what they revealed. Her life experiences!

All day long she could show off her beautiful manicure along with the many stories her hands had to tell.

Brandalyn and all Healthcare professionals deserve recognition for the important role they play in our healthcare system. It’s because of people like Brandalyn that this world is a wonderful place.

Ungrateful wife left him and their son after a fight – 2 days later, he writes her a letter everyone should read

After a long, stressful day at work, a man went home exhausted to his family.

All he wanted to do was sit down in his favorite chair and watch his favorite team play football. He didn’t want to be disturbed by his kids or help his wife do any chores.

This upset his wife to no end and the couple got in a big argument.

It had happened before, but this was the last straw and the man’s wife stormed out of the house.

She didn’t come home that night, or the next morning, either.

The man’s world collapsed and suddenly he had to take care of himself. After two days alone with his kids, the man found a moment to sit down and write this letter to his wife:

My darling,

Two nights ago, we had a huge argument. I was exhausted when I got home from work. It was 8:00 p.m and all I wanted to do was to lie down and watch the game.

You weren’t in a good mood, and you were clearly tired after having a long day. You were trying to put the baby to sleep as the other kids were fighting, and all I did was turn the volume up.

“Would it kill you to play a more active role in your children’s upbringing?” you asked, turning the television volume back down. “You can help out more around the house, too.”

“Hey,” I said defensively. “I work hard all day just so you could play in the doll’s house all day.”

The argument just kept going like that. I said terrible things to you that I can never take back, and you screamed, saying that you were sick of it all. So you tearfully ran out of the house, leaving me to take care of the children on my own.

I was forced to feed the kids and put them to bed all by myself. When you didn’t come back the next day, I was forced to ask my boss if I could take a day off so I could take care of the children.

I experienced the crying and the tantrums.

I experienced having to run around so much all day that I didn’t even have a chance to shower.

I experienced being forced to heat the milk, getting the kids dressed, and cleaning the kitchen all at once.

I experienced being cooped up all day without speaking to an adult.

I experienced the inability to sit calmly at the table to have a relaxed meal whenever I wanted, because I had to run after the kids.

I experienced feeling so physically and emotionally drained that I just wanted to sleep for 20 hours straight, but had to get up a few hours after falling asleep because the baby was crying.

I lived two days and two nights the way that you do, and I think I get it now.

I get your exhaustion. I get that being a mother is all about sacrifice.

I get that it is more tiring than being among corporate bigwigs for 10 hours and making economic decisions.

I get how frustrated you must be to have to sacrifice your job and financial freedom so that you can provide for your children.

I get how uncertain you are about the fact that your economic security now depends on your partner and not just you.

I get how hard it is to not be able to hang out with your friends, exercise, or get a good night’s sleep.

I get how challenging it is, being locked up and being forced to to watch the children while imagining what you must be missing in the outside world.

I also get that you become upset when my mother criticizes how you choose to raise our children, because nobody in the world knows what is best for children like their own mother.

I get that being a mother means carrying society’s greatest burdens. Being the person that nobody appreciates, values, or remembers.

I write you this letter not just to tell you that you are missed, but additionally because I don’t want to go another day without telling you:

“You are strong, doing an excellent job, and I admire you.”

This letter has been circulating on the internet for a while, and it’s a wonderful tribute from a man to his wife. He never understood what an unbelievable job she did before he was forced to put himself in her shoes.

I hope everyone who reads this understands what an important job it is to stay home and take care of the children.

When she saw her teenage granddaughter put on a see-through blouse to go out on a date, this grandma didn’t approve at all.

So the clever old lady came up with a solution that both put a big smile on my face and got the teenage girl thinking…

The teenager tells her, “Loosen up, Grams. These are modern times. You gotta let your rosebuds show!” and out she goes.

The next day the teenager comes downstairs, and the grandmother is sitting there with no top on.

The teenager wants to die. She explains to her grandmother that she has friends coming over and that it is just not appropriate…

Her grandmother says, “Loosen up, Sweetie. If you can show off your rosebuds, then I can display my hanging baskets.”

He walked 20 miles to his first day of work. Here’s what happened when his boss found out.

Walter Carr was all set for his first day of a new job, but then his car broke down 20 miles from work.

With the car dead and his new job with a moving company called Bellhops on the line, Carr knew he only had one choice: to walk. So after taking a four-hour nap to give him strength, the Birmingham, Alabama, resident started the long walk to work at midnight.

It took him another four hours to get to his destination.

At 3 a.m., several officers saw Carr walking through a neighborhood and stopped to ask where we was going.

After Carr told them about his journey, the officers took him to breakfast and then to a church, where they thought he’d have a safe place to rest until his job started.

But not wanting to be late for the first moving job of the day, Carr took off for Jenny and Chris Lamey’s home. Another officer — who’d just come on the clock and heard Carr’s story — picked him up and drove him the rest of the way.

By 6:30 a.m., the Lameys got a knock at their door. Carr had made it to work and was ready to move their household. Carr put in a full day, refusing even a short nap before he started.

Jenny Lamey, so impressed with Carr’s perseverance, shared the story on Facebook. The post has since gone viral, amassing hundreds of shares.

The CEO of Bellhops caught wind of Carr’s journey.

Luke Marklin, the CEO of Bellhops, drove from Tennessee to meet the guy who’d walked 20 miles to get to work. By the end of their meeting, Carr was walking away with something more than just a clap on the shoulder.

Marklin gifted Carr his own car to make sure that he wouldn’t have to choose walking over sleeping before work again. Jenny Lamey also contributed, starting a GoFundMe that’s raised more than $8,000 for Carr’s future.

“I want people to know this: No matter what the challenge is, you can break through the challenge,” Carr told AL.com. “Nothing is impossible unless you make it impossible. You can do anything you set your mind to.”

Senior citizens tend to get a bad rap. Most people assume they live in Florida, sit around knitting all day, and go to bed at dusk. But those are unfair stereotypes!

Sure, old folks may have a few more health concerns than younger adults, but they still have their wits about them — and they still know how to have a little fun.

For instance, did you know that President George H.W. Bush skydived well into his 90s, comedian George Burns puffed on cigars until his death at 100,and a saucy old granny in England recently snuck out of her nursing home to get a tattoo?

The senior shenanigans don’t stop there, either. Plenty of people in their golden oldies are adding a little sparkle to their lives by being downright cool and hysterically funny.

Take the grandma in this story I heard a few years ago. What she does when she calls a hospital is not only hilarious, but it’s also a whip-smart move any whippersnapper half her age would be proud to say they thought of themselves…

A sweet old lady telephoned St. Joseph’s Hospital. She asked, “Is it possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient is doing?”

The operator said, “I can. What the name and the room number?”

The old lady said, “Norma Findlay, Room 302.”

The operator replied, “Let me place you on hold while I check with her nurse.”

After a few minutes the operator returned to the phone and said, “Oh, I have good news, her nurse just told me that Norma is doing very well. Her blood pressure is fine, her blood work just came back as normal, and her physician, Dr. Cohen, has scheduled her to be discharged on Tuesday.”

The old lady said, “Thank you. That’s wonderful! I was so worried! God bless you!”

The operator replied, “You’re more than welcome. Is Norma your daughter?”

The grandmother said, “No, I’m Norma Findlay in 302. No one ever tells me sh*t.”

Foster mom abuses adopted daughter at restaurant while favoring ‘real’ son but a customer has had enough

There are nearly 428,000 children in foster care in the United States. More than 18,000 foster kids live in Arizona, a state with one of the highest numbers of foster kids in the country. Most foster families are taking care and loving these children in need as their own. However, there are some families who are taking advantage of the system, taking the money, the state provides for the child’s needs and using it for their own purpose or for their other biological children instead.

In the emotional video below, a family of three are having their lunch at the Sugar Bowl restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona — Angela, the mother with her foster daughter Emma and her biological son Xavier. After moments of their arrival, people there started noticing how badly the ‘mom’ treats Emma while she treats Xavier very nice. She didn’t give Emma the same delicious food she gave to her son. When Emma asks for a sundae, Angela responded with a truly hurtful explanation: “He’s my real son and you’re my foster kid,” she tells Emma. Angela, even went beyond the unimaginable and threatened Emma to turn her back to the foster care if she doesn’t agree with her unreasonable rules!

luckily, there was an all set up experiment by the famous show “What Would You Do? All of Angela, Emma and Xavier are actors, but other customers weren’t. You have to watch their reactions to the woman’s poor behavior with her foster child. It’s been all caught on hidden cameras. You’ll want to grab a tissue box before watching this one.

Giant Weed Spreading Across North America Can Cause Third Degree Burns And Blindness If Touched

People are being cautioned to be on the lookout for Giant hogweed, a plant with toxic sap that can cause third degree burns and even blindness. The toxic plants are an invasive species to North America, Europe and Britain and are spreading more and more, which means people and pets are coming into more frequent contact with it.

Giant hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) is from the carrot family and is often mistaken for cow parsnip, woodland angelica and Queen Anne’s Lace (also known as wild carrot). It’s the hogweed’s sap that distinguishes it from other plants because of its high toxicity. Giant hogweed sap contains toxic chemicals that make skin hyper-sensitive to ultraviolet light.

Once the sap is exposed to sunlight, it reacts and can cause severe blistering, permanent scarring and blindness if it comes in contact with the eyes.

Sometimes, people do not feel the reaction until a few days later when the sap on their body is exposed to the sun. Even after the affected areas of skin have healed, the skin can remain sensitive to light for years. The chemicals in the sap are known as furocoumarins and are carcinogenic and teratogenic, meaning they can cause cancer and birth defects.

It’s no wonder people want to spread the word of the dangers of the plant! And humans are not the only ones at risk. Livestock and dogs and cats can also be badly harmed. A Great Dane in England recently sniffed a Giant Hogweed plant, which burned her nose severely.

If you or someone you know comes physical contact with giant hogweed they should immediately wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and cold water. If it gets into eyes, rinse them thoroughly with water and wear sunglasses. You will also need to keep the exposed area of skin out of the sun for at least 48 hours. It’s recommended you visit the doctor (or veterinarian, in the case of an animal) if you notice any signs of reaction.

10-year-old Lauren Fuller described how she came in contact with Giant Hogweed when out fishing with her father and ended up burning her hands. Caution: there are a few graphic photos contained in the video.

Key ways to identify the plant are:

The stems are hairy and splotchy purple and green in color
The leaves are dark green with three deep lobes
It can reach a size of height of 14 feet (4-5 metres). Stems have a diameter of 5-10 cm.
It has small, pretty, white flowers that are umbrella-shaped and can measure up to 80 cm across.
The stems can still be toxic when they are dry and have no leaves!

If you find a plant in your neighborhood or garden, you are advised to contact your local municipality to inform them of the invasive plant. In the video below, there are some tips for the appropriate way to get rid of the hogweed.

Girlfriends Quick Thinking Saves Boyfriend When Disaster Strikes

Sometimes a relaxing vacation or trip away from home can take a disastrous turn no one ever could have seen coming. That was the case for 18-year-old Juliet Moore and Isaiah Cormier when they both set out on a weekend camping trip in the Ruby Gulch area of Colorado. The teens had just gotten back to their campsite after a hike when it began to drizzle. Not knowing what was coming, the teens set out to put away all of thier gear inside the tent to avoid it getting wet.

Juliet had just gotten into the tent to take shelter when she suddenly saw a bright flash of light. She immediately called out to her boyfriend but there was no response. Alarmed, she poked her head out to find him lying facedown on the ground and immediately knew something was wrong. Isaiah had just been struck by lightning in the neck. Instinctively, Juliet jumped into action, turning him over onto his back. She began checking for a heartbeat and breathing, but couldn’t hear or feel either. Lucky for him Juliet had just learned CPR weeks before and immediately started chest compressions and CPR.

After a few compressions Isaiah gasped but immediately stopped breathing again. Again, Juliet began more compressions hoping and praying that he would wake up. Her mind was racing as she kept thinking, “You cannot go yet. I have too many things I want to do with you. You’re not allowed to leave me this soon.” Isaiah awoke again and this time she was lucky she had cell service to contact 911. She yelled for help and a nearby camper came by with his son. Together they put Isaiah into the car and rushed him to the hospital. Not many people can say their girlfriend saved their life but in Isaiah’s case he is very lucky Juliet didn’t hesitate to take action. Watch more of their story in the video below.

Little Girl Senses Danger And Doesn’t Hesitate Taking Action

As a parent, it’s easy to worry about your children day in and day out. One tries to keep them safe by advising them of possible threats, hoping that if a situation arises and you’re not around that your child will know how to stay safe.

When 7-year-old Emmy McCardell decided to go outside her house to sunbathe her mom didn’t think much of it. Emmy was relaxing on her sidewalk when suddenly a car slowly crept up to her house and a stranger inside said “Hello.”

In an instant Emmy knew something wasn’t right.

Confused, Emmy looked up from where she was lying and caught sight of the stranger. She immediately got up and that’s when the stranger asked a question that would pique the interest of any child.

The stranger asked:

“Do you want a bicycle?”
By that point, Emmy was already running towards the door when the stranger asked the question and she shouted “No!” as she ran inside.

Once inside, her mother Michelle was horror struck the minute she saw Emmy run through the door. She knew something wasn’t right and that’s when Emmy began explaining what had just happened.

It was every mother’s worst nightmare…

In Emmy’s words, a “Tricky Man” had greeted her, making her feel uneasy because he was a stranger. Emmy’s mom Michelle says she has always told her two kids never to trust or listen to a stranger that may approach them.

This was the moment Michelle’s lesson would either pop into Emmy’s head, or she would be lured into a dangerous stranger’s car!

Thankfully, in her daughter’s case, Emmy knew just what to do and didn’t hesitate to run to safety. Her quick thinking likely saved her life – and Michelle couldn’t have been more proud of her little girl.

Surveillance footage outside the home captured the whole thing and mom gets chills watching the footage. She can’t even imagine the horror that could have been if her daughter would have approached the stranger. As far as the suspicious man, police are now working hard to track down the vehicle.

Man Verbally Harasses Customer And Others Get Involved

The intellectually disabled community has more freedom, respect and compassion from the world around them today than ever before. Even though most of us are thrilled to see people with intellectual disabilities thrive in the world, not everyone feels the same way. There are some people who don’t understand how things work and how independent most people with these conditions can be! That’s what this episode of “What Would You Do” with John Quinones aimed to tackle. Would people side with a man verbally harassing another customer for his disability? Or would they rush to defend the disabled man?

According to the National Down Syndrome Society and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in every 700 babies in the United States are born with Down syndrome. Since it occurs so often, Down syndrome is actually the most common chromosomal condition – more than 6,000 babies are born with this in the United States every year. Due to the prevalence of Down syndrome, a massive amount of resources have been allocated to making sure this group gets the opportunities, support and sense of community they need! In the last decade, people with Down syndrome have been welcomed into the business world, can hold esteemed positions in local government and are helping shape society. Even with all of the positive things that the intellectually disabled community has done for the world, there are still small-minded people out there who have hate to spew…

Sadly, that’s what happened inside this restaurant. A man with Down syndrome sat at a table and waited patiently for the waitress to take his order – just like we all do when we eat out! But when the waitress approached his table and began to explain some of the menu items, another man spoke up. He wasn’t helping the disabled young man select a meal. He was verbally harassing him instead! People in the restaurant couldn’t believe their eyes. How could someone treat another human being with such disrespect? Man’s Baffled Seeing Teen Holding Stop Sign At Intersection

When something just doesn’t seem right, there are those who feel compelled to act even if the situation doesn’t involve them. That’s exactly what happened one hot day in Oklahoma City.

Randy Jones was outside marking warning signs for some new construction when he came upon an intersection. There on the side of the road was a teenage boy, who was grasping onto the pole of a stop sign.

Believing it seemed odd, Randy decided to approach the teen and ask him why he was holding the stop sign. Not only was it something you don’t normally see – the temperature was a scorching 95 degrees and he had no shade or water.

Randy told News 9:

“I was like ‘what in the world is this kid doing.'”
But it was the 17-year-old’s response, whose name is Logan, that really threw him for a loop.

Logan explained to Randy that he had noticed that the stop sign had been knocked down. On top of that, he also almost witnessed a car accident because of it.

Not wanting anyone to get hurt, Logan picked up the stop sign during his lunch break from work. He then stood there holding it in position so that drivers could safely cross over the intersection.

Randy was blown away by the young man’s thoughtfulness and how quick he was to step into action during the potentially dangerous situation. He said:

“Not a lot of people would do what he did. To have the awareness to know to get out and help, it’s pretty cool.”

Randy immediately contacted the City of Oklahoma City, who then sent a truck out to fix the stop sign. In addition, he also shared a photo he had taken of Logan holding up the sign on Facebook, along with the rest of the story.

Unsurprisingly, Randy’s post went viral and has been shared more than 3,500 times. Many people have been expressing their appreciation and kind words for what a great job Logan did – because sometimes stepping up is what makes the world of difference.

Randy closed his post saying:

“Hopefully this gets back to this young man, you did a good job and I’m sure the citizens of the city of Oklahoma city appreciate it as well.”

As many of us already know, seniors can have quite the sense of humor. Maybe it’s thanks to their vast life experiences, or simply a different perspective on life altogether. Whatever the reason may be, sometimes it is the older members of society that bring us the most joy. One such 88-year-old is proof of just that, and her hilarious phone call with Ellen DeGeneres will leave you weak with laughter.

Although this clip is years old, Ellen still considers this segment one of her favorite memories of all time – and when you hear their unforgettable conversation you will quickly understand why! It all started when the famous host caught wind of one of her biggest fans. Unable to resist the chance to talk to her, Ellen decided to phone up the woman live on the air. What happened next left the audience in stitches, as 88-year-old Gladys Hardy’s sassy attitude and comebacks have Ellen doubling over with laughter.

Not only is she absolutely hilarious, but her personality is larger than life. The audience erupts with laughter as she unexpectedly confesses to Ellen “Listen, I’ll be honest with you. I love Jesus but I drink a little.” By the time their conversation is over, Ellen has tears in her eyes from laughing so hard.
