73-year-old elephant who spent her life experiencing only violence is finally rescued and taken to a new home

Animals are meant to be respected and left to live their life freely in their natural habitat. Sadly, because of the human greed, many are held in captivity and forced to serve as slaves.

Sook Jai is an elephant who has spent all her life experiencing violence by her handlers. She was used for trekking as a tourist elephant and was left on the streets to beg for money. The way she was treated during the 73 years of her life took its toll and Sook Jai ended up both blind and deaf.

Luckily, she was finally rescued and given a chance to spend the rest of her life free and loved.

Elephant News posted a video of this incredible creature’s life story and wrote, “Sook Jai’s life is much the same as every captive elephant, working many different jobs over the course of their lives, some more arduous than others, all an affront to their dignity. Sook Jai’s life passed through the hands of a number of men. She moved from job to job and from one place to another, working relentlessly until falling down.”

At the time she was taken to the Elephant Nature Park, her new forever home, Sook Jai’s body was all covered in wounds. The journey from the Kanchanaburi province, west Thailand, where Sook Jai was found, to the Elephant Nature Park took around 20 hours. Her rescuers made sure she was comfortable at all times.

“On the ride, she looked very hungry but would not eat anything as the suspense was too much,” the website said. “After 20 hours of journey, she arrived at the park and took her first step to the sanctuary. Sook Jai was very easy to get off of the truck to her new home.”

Incredibly, despite being blind and deaf, Sook Jai could feel she was at a better place. She expressed her relief by shedding tears of joy.

“Sook Jai reached up her trunk to smell her new home, sending low rumbles out into the field, tears running down her face,” Elephant News wrote on YouTube. “A peaceful life is hers now. Though her eyes are dim and hearing faint, we hope that love will be a light for her living.”

Everyone who has seen the video of this lovely creature’s rescue was overwhelmed. People from all over the world expressed their gratitude to Sook Jai’s rescuers for everything they did for her and for teaching her that not all humans are bad.

One person wrote, “I cried the moment I saw she cried and waiving her trunk. She knows she’s free now. Please save and rescue more and more elephants, together we can do it!” Another added, “Absolutely wonderful to see her finally rescued. May the time she has left make up for her harsh life of labour & cruelty. Thank you to her rescuers.”

Sook Jai’s rescuers say she’s very intelligent and adjusted to her new life and new home easily. Despite her disabilities, she’s navigating around on her own and shows very strong spirit and personality.

Nearly 40 missing children saved by U.S. Marshals during sex trafficking bust in Georgia

Nearly 40 missing children authorities believe were all already or potential victims of sex trafficking were rescued during a mission named “Operation Not Forgotten.” Both state and federal agents took part in tracing the victims down in the operation which spanned across 20 countries in Atlanta.

WSBTV reported the statement given by U.S. Marshals Service Director Donald Washington who said, “These missing children were considered to be some of the most at-risk and challenging recovery cases in the area, based on indications of high-risk factors such as victimization of child sex trafficking, child exploitation, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and medical or mental health conditions. Other children were located at the request of law enforcement to ensure their wellbeing.”

Medical and social workers are helping the children overcome the trauma and the traffickers are arrested and placed behind bars.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp praised everyone involved in the operation posting on Twitter.

Currently, similar operations in other countries are ongoing and everyone hopes for the same outcome as in “Operation Not Forgotten.”

Washington says, “One missing child is worth thousands, in my mind, of fugitives that we go out and get.”

We are glad and relieved all these children are now safe and we hope U.S. Marshals Fugitive Hunters and the rest of the agencies would do all in their power to help other sex trafficking victims in the future as they did this time.

Farmer left in shock after receiving a photo on Snapchat showing teenagers terrorizing his farm animals

Societies tend to consider teenagers as careless and immature, and as much as we want to believe that’s not always the case, cases like this one show that parents do need to spend a lot of time teaching them right from wrong, otherwise, they can easily take the wrong path in life.

Jimmy Abma is a fourth generation farmer from Wyckoff, New Jersey, who experienced something truly horrible. It was around 10.30 p.m. when he received a photo on Snapchat that left him in a complete shock. It showed teenagers terrorizing the animals on his farm.

He shared what happened with ABC News and said how he rushed to the farm only to see the group of teens riding his donkeys. On top of that, they also broke into his market and stole things.

“We must explain the seriousness of this break in,” Abma Farms posted on Facebook. “First and foremost, we are a working farm, and four families (and four generations) live here. This is our home. Second, from a human safety standpoint, breaking in to animal pens with no animal training is dangerous. Animals can kick, rear up, and trample you. In the dark, anything can happen. Third, the safety of OUR animals has been compromised and that IS. NOT. OKAY. Our animals are now shaken and skiddish (sic) compared to their normal relaxed nature. This is very troubling to us.”

Jimmy Abma is a fourth generation farmer from New Jersey.

He chased the teenagers away, but some of the animals were gone. Thankfully, they all returned home the following morning and Abma noticed how the wrongdoers even put lipstick on some of them.

He was outraged to say the least.

Teens broke into the farm and rode on the donkeys in the petting zoo.

“All the gates were open in the pens, a couple of the animals you couldn’t even get close to,” Abma told ABC News affiliate WABC. “They were all skittish, they were all jumping around. This our house. This is our yard. This is our livelihood. With something like this, it is almost like you just get sucker punched in the side and you really have to go around say ‘is it really worth it? Do I really need to keep my zoo open for all these frustrations?’”

The farm was closed the following Monday so a veterinarian could check the animals out.

A vet checked on the traumatized animals and Abma said he even reconsidered his decision of opening the petting zoo again. However, he got the support from the community but says he won’t be at ease until the teenagers are caught.

The farmer said his goats have been acting skittish since the incident.

“Everybody has been concerned, everybody is concerned about the animals, the well-being of everything that has gone on,” Abma said. “Everybody wants us to bring these kids up to speed and make sure that they have to deal with what they did.”

We honestly hope these teens won’t get away with what they do. Take a look at the video below for the whole story.

Dad of four is warning parents after his 17-month-old son’s feet “melted” at a splash pad

The family of Andrew Sechrist from Seattle was looking forward to a fun summer day at the local splash pad, not assuming something horrible will happen.

As the four kids were running around and enjoying the water and the sun, the youngest one, 17-month-old Jackson, started screaming all of a sudden. Andrew rushed to check on him as he believed the boy tripped and fell, but that wasn’t the reason why the sweet toddler was in so much pain.

Credit: ABC13

Andrew spoke to CafeMom about the incident because he wanted to warn parents to be extra cautious when visiting places like splash pads and said, “Everything was going well for about 15 minutes. I saw Jackson off to the side, about five feet from a water toy and I ran over, thinking he had fallen, to console him.”

“I picked him up and took him to a different section of the water area, but he was still inconsolable,” Andrew added.

Then, this worried father tried to dry Jackson off when he noticed his feet were literally melted. It was painful to watch, so imagine how the little boy must have felt with such severe burns.

“I could feel the heat coming off of them,” he said. “I looked down and noticed that the skin had basically melted on the bottoms of both of his feet.”

Credit: ABC13

Andrew realized that Jackson walked over the metal electrical grate which Q13 Fox tested the following day and found the temperature it reached was 130 degrees. “Just putting my hand on here like that, I can’t keep it here for half a second, and my 1-1/2-year-old son walked across [it],” Andrew said.

It wasn’t surprising Jackson got second-degree burns. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and soon transferred to Harborview Medical Center to be treated by a specialist in their burns unit.

Thankfully, Jackson will get the treatment and will hopefully feel better shortly.

We hope no other child will ever get such bad injuries because of an innocent mistake of getting near a metal electrical grate. So, if you take your kids to a splash pad, make sure you keep a close eye on them at all times.

#TBT to a fantastic couple, Pat & Shirley Boone #patboone #shirleyboone

A post shared by Pat Boone (@thepatboone) on

A year after he tied the knot, Pat’s career took off. His version of Fats Domino’s “Ain’t That a Shame” put him under the limelight. When he turned 23, Pat got his own show, The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom, which aired on ABC every week for 115 episodes until 1960.

Even that young, Pat had a lot to be proud of.

Pat appeared in several popular films, including April Love (1957), the science-fiction movie Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959), and the musical State Fair (1962), in which he starred with fellow teen idols Bobby Darin and Ann-Margret.

Pat and Shirley had four daughters together whom they raised as they both had very successful careers. Shirley worked both as an actress and an assistant director.

“Not many people in this crazy business stay married to one person for 65 years, but Shirley went to Heaven ahead of me last year and I’m on my own now,” Pat said talking to The Christian Post.

Pat confesses that he’s still grieving for the love of his life. The ‘50s star lives in the same Beverly Hills, California, home the couple purchased together in 1960. “I’m living here alone with a housekeeper and my dog, a little cocker spaniel,” he told Closer Weekly. “Shadow is his name.”

Pat’s love for Shirley and his words describing her and his life after her touched millions of hearts.

“We lived a wonderful, blessed life together for 65 years. I’ve parted with my better half for a little while … but we don’t die, we just move on to another place, and today was moving day. She’s changed her address is all and moved to a different mansion that I expect to join her in one day.”

Take a look at the touching and inspirational video of Pat revealing his feeling below.

Devoted wife prayed under husband’s hospital window for weeks, sadly, he died of COVID-19

The coronavirus pandemic changed how we live. Today, nothing is the way it used to be and no one knows when things are going to get back to normal.

Sadly, this deadly virus killed a lot of people, and as we hear of the numbers of those affected by it, we somehow forget those people are someone’s sons and daughters, husbands and wives, moms and dads.

On August 14, David Gutierrez from Tomball, Texas, passed away from COVID-19. He was at the hospital for weeks and his devoted wife spent all that time praying for him under the hospital window.

Screenshot

Speaking of the hard time the family went through, wife Michelle Gutierrez said it was almost impossible for them to be with her husband and they were given two options. “We can all be there and turn his machine off … so we can be there when he passes. And I did not want to do that. The other option was to visit with him for about an hour and get the phone call … when he passed,” she said. Michelle decided to spend time with her loved one.

David, who was a father of five, spent five weeks batling COVID-19. Most of the time, he was in a coma and on life support.

The family spent an hour with him on the day he left this world. After visiting hours were over, Michelle left the hospital and went to the spot under the window to pray, but just three hours later, she got the call that changed her life, David died.

“Even though I didn’t save David’s physical life, he is with me. He is OK,” she said.

Rest in peace David, our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Man punches officer in the face, but K9 partner steps in and knocks the man down

Nothing speaks friendship and loyalty as dogs. These loving creatures are always more than ready to go above and beyond for their humans. Now imagine what would a K9 do if someone tries to mess with their partner and handler. A man named Tony Mann, 31, learned the answer to this the hard way after he punched officer Roman Scuadroni in the face, not knowing his K9 Lee wouldn’t just sit there and watch his handler being attacked.

Source: Facebook/Randy Martinez

Mann was reported to be behaving strangely and dancing in the property of a man named Randy Martinez from Newburgh, New York, who called the police and said it was looking as though Mann was on drugs.

Speaking to the Times Herald-Record on Monday, Martinez said, “I rolled down the window and was going to tell him he can’t be on my property, and then he takes out his knife, and I’m just like, ‘Oh, God, no. What’s going to happen?’”

K9 Lee and officer Scuadroni answered the call and arrived at the scene. But just when Scuadroni approached Mann, he punched him in the face. The officer was taken aback by what had happened but tried to stay calm and took a moment before he opened his police vehicle door — letting loose Lee.

Lee jumped into action and chomped down on Mann’s arm while officer Scuadroni put his arms around his neck trying to restrain him. In a matter of minutes, another officer came to the scene and helped Scuadroni put Mann handcuffs.

After the whole thing was over, Mann was arrested and charged with trespassing, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, third-degree assault, and second-degree menacing.

Things turned for the best thanks to K9 Lee who showed his courage and helped his partner. The whole thing was caught on tape by Martinez but due to the violence it involved it was soon taken off of Facebook.

Police officers discover danger inside 92-year-old veteran’s home and go above and beyond their job to help him

As most people believe how being robbed is one of the worst things that can happen to them, a world war II veteran could probably never imagine how reporting such a crime could trigger a series of incredible events that would turn his life for the better.

92-year-old Louis C. Hicks, from Austin, Texas who did a lot for this country and served in the war wasn’t having it easy in his old days. The poor man was living in a place with no proper heating which made it difficult for him to get cozy during the cold winter.

One day, however, an unpleasant event turned his faith around. Someone started stealing tools from the shed behind his house, so the veteran contacted the Austin Police Department and reported the crime.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they realized this man’s home was cold. Officer Chastity Salazar couldn’t help but notice how he struggled keep himself warm.

“That’s just what we do as police officers,” Salazar said. “I had realized that he’s using the oven. I know that’s not safe. His gas is on.”

Thanks to Officer Salazar’s kind heart, veteran Hick was about to get everything he needed to have a decent life. That was the thank you Hicks got by the staff from the police department for serving the country.

The officers got this man a brand new heater and arranged for him to receive an electric fireplace installed in his home.

But the generosity of these good people didn’t stop there. Officer Bino Cadenas started visiting Hicks regularly just to make sure he gets essentials such as shirts and underwear, as well as chips and peanuts that he really loves.

This loving man admits how he would never ask for help himself, but now that people offered it to him, he is happy to accept it.

“I’ve never had no one to do nothing for me,” an emotional Hicks said. “After my mother passed away and left me to take care of my two sisters — nobody never did nothing to help me.”

“You hate to ask anybody ’cause sometimes they’ll frown on you, and I’m a true veteran,” Hicks said. “I won’t ask. I won’t ask.”

Officer Salazar is glad things turned for the best for this veteran who now accepts the kindness with an open heart.

“He’s just offered me a lot of kindness, too,” Salazar said. “So to know that he’s also served, and now I’m able to serve and give back to people like him.”

“The things I’ve been trying to do since the ’40s. I’ve been asking for help and now it just came in. God is good,” Hicks said.

Share this lovely story with your family and friends to wish them well-being too.

Woman slides into the sea from a yacht and right into the path of an eight-foot long shark

A terrifying moment or a once in a lifetime experience? I would say both.

A video of a woman taking a ride down a slide from a yacht and right into the path of a shark is going viral and people are going crazy over it.

Iso Machado was celebrating a friend’s birthday and as they were all having fun, Machado decided to get into the water. A friend of her son, Kevan Sarota, decided to film her without knowing he would capture a moment to remember that would be seen my millions of people worldwide.

Machado had an encounter with an 8-foot long shark. When the people on board noticed the black creature, they panicked. Machado’s son could be heard yelling, “Oh my God, oh my God, Mom! Don’t freak out, don’t freak out. Wait, this isn’t funny.”

But as it turned out, Machado wasn’t as alarmed as those filming and witnessing the incredible encounter. On the contrary, she was fascinated she got to be so close to a shark.

Speaking of the incident, Sarota told Jam Press, “As she was going down one of the crew members yelled and pointed from the deck below which caught all of our attention. As the shark approached we couldn’t figure out what type it was.”

“We were worried and immediately jumped in to make sure Iso was okay when it changed directions but she remained calm and it bumped her then continued on its way,” he added.

They soon realized the shark was a nurse shark, which for the most part are harmless for swimmers and snorkelers.

The video was first posted on TikTok and was shared over 25 thousand times. Later, it was posted on Instagram where it has been seen over 3.4 million times. Take a look at the incredible video below.

Father and 3-year-old daughter shot dead in their Kentucky home in the middle of the day

The lives of 3-year-old Trinity Randolph and her 21-year-old father Brandon Waddles were lost after the two were killed in their Kentucky home. The girl was said to be playing in her “Frozen” dollhouse at the time of the shooting.

GoFundMe

The reason behind the gruesome killing remains unknown and the killers are not yet identified.

Family members and neighbors describe sweet Trinity as the sweetest girl ever. Joyous, outgoing, beautiful and intelligent are just some of the attributes this cute girl possessed, and she’s now gone without being guilty of anything.

“My beautiful niece, Trinity [Randolph] was murdered at her grandmother’s home, shot to death at only 3 years old,” Tyasia Lashay wrote on the GoFundMe page the family set up.

“A fun loving energetic soul whose life was snatched along with her fathers. This was very unexpected,” she added.

Tyronn Howlett, the girl’s grandpa and Waddles’ father, told WLKY News, “Children don’t have anything to do with it. They are innocent people, and they should never be in whatever an adult has going on between that.” Waddles was a musician who went by the name “DareallilB.”

The funeral of the father and the daughter will be paid for by rapper and businessman Master P. Speaking to Courier Journal he said, “This a 3-year-old innocent girl that’s gone from her family, from her future, somebody who could have come out of the community and be the next president, doctor, lawyer, teacher.”

The community is asking from the police to investigate the case and says how things are getting serious as this is the 16th fatal shooting in the area between August 1st and August 14th.

We are very sorry for the loss of two beautiful souls who left this world way too early. Our thoughts are with the family. Trinity and Brandon left behind their loving mother and wife and their 1-month-old baby brother and son.

Teen stabbed to death by intruder while trying to protect his 5-year-old sister – rest in peace

Not all heroes wear capes, and brave Khyler Edman is just the perfect example of that. This incredibly devoted young man lost his life while protecting that of his little sister after an intruder entered their home carrying a gun.

When the man pointed the weapon to Khyler and the 5-year-old girl, Khyler tried defending them with a knife but sustained multiple gunshots and died in front of his sister’s eyes.

GoFundMe

The intruder had broken into other people’s homes before he killed Khyler and the police was investigating the armed robberies when they accidentally found the lifeless body of the teen. The killer was later identified as 27-year-old Ryan Cole. He had his victim’s blood on his shirt when he got arrested.

Khyler’s mom was devastated when she learned her son died in such a senseless attack and wrote on Facebook, “A piece of my heart will forever be missing!!”

In the meantime, the family set up a GoFundMe page, hoping Khyler would get the burial he deserved. “My son had a long life ahead of him, that was taken too soon,” the mom said on the page. People from all over the country donated and over $87,000 was raised.

GoFundMe

A representative of the school Khyler attended, Charlotte County Public Schools, told CNN, “Khyler laid his life down to save his baby sister and showed his community how much of a hero he was.” The whole community paid tribute to the brave young man who stood for his sister and lost his life defending her. Over 100 people lit candles and sang “Amazing Grace” in Khyler’s honor.

The killing took place in September of 2019, and Cole was charged with First Degree Burglary with Battery, Burglary of a Dwelling, and First Degree Murder in December.

In January of 2020, State Attorney Amira Fox announced they would be asking for a death penalty for Cole who had been arrested over 20 times for drug abuse and burglary prior to the murder of the teen. This all led to a proposal called “Khyler’s Law” which asks repeat offenders to be given stronger sentences.

Our heart goes out to Khyler’s family. He died a hero, may he rests in peace.

Women hear whining coming from a bush believing someone abandoned puppies – discover twin newborn babies instead

Some people dream of having a child their whole life but don’t get to experience the joy of being parents, while others who are blessed with that gift refuse to take care of their bundles of joy and even dump them as a piece of furniture that has served its purpose. The latter definitely don’t deserve to be called parents, but monsters.

A group of women from Curitiba, in the southern Brazilian state of Parana, were taking a walk when they heard strange noises coming from a bush. They were certain someone dumped newborn puppies there, but when they took a closer look, they were shocked to see two newborn babies.

The women called the police, and the twins, whose umbilical cords were still attached, were transferred to the nearest hospital. Tamara Ribeiro, one of the women who found the baby girls spoke to the Mirror and said, “I thought they were a dog and when I looked at them I realized they were two babies.”

The girls were in a good condition but stayed at the hospital for some time just to get strong enough before being put up for adoption.

Tamara and her friends named the babies Eloa, which means “God,” and Heloisa, which means “Warrior Woman,” because as they said, the sweet newborns were real miracles who managed to survive even though they were less than a day old when they were cruelly abandoned.

We are very thankful the cute babies were found just in time to be given a new lease on life and we hope they will have amazing lives in the future with families that will love them unconditionally.

8-year-old Ohio girl killed from gunshot at teenager’s backyard birthday party

A tragic incident took place on Friday when an 8-year-old Mikayla Pickett was shot in the head with a bullet.

She was attending a birthday party which 62-year-old Willie Walker organized for his grandson in their backyard in Akron, Ohio. As the guests were having fun celebrating, the party was interrupted by four people, still not identified, who started shooting with guns for no reason.

Mikayla was rushed to the Akron Children’s Hospital where she passed away.

Speaking of the tragedy, Walker told Beacon Journal, “All hell broke out. I don’t know what the hell happened.”

One of the neighbors, who didn’t want her name to be revealed, said she heard the gunshots and only after she felt it was safe, she looked out of the window expecting bodies on the ground. Windows from some of the neighboring houses were damaged. She added how she found multiple shell casings in her driveway the previous week and said how this wasn’t the first time for shootings like this to take place in the neighborhood.

From the beginning of 2020, this is 31st murder that police is investigating. They are urging people to come forward with any information that would help them identify and track Mikayla’s killers down. Florida mom shot dead during daughter’s first Zoom class as teacher and students watch in horror

A 10-year-old girl from Florida who was looking forward to seeing her teacher and friends again during the first Zoom class for this years was left in shock as she witnessed her mother being murdered. The teacher and the girl’s classmates who attended the meeting witnessed the whole thing as they watched in horror.

The mother, 32-year-old Maribel Rosado Morales got into a row with her ex-boyfriend, 27-year-old Donald J. Williams, over some video. As the two argued, he pulled a gun and shot Morales who was taken to a hospital where she died.

The tragedy took place at 8 in the morning, on Tuesday, August 11. There were six children in the house at the moment of the shooting.

Soon after the incident, Williams was taken into custody with the charges of first-degree murder.

The teacher at Warfield Elementary School witnessed the murder. In a press conference on Tuesday, August 11, William Snyder, Martin County Sheriff said, “The teacher’s online — I’ve never done a Zoom with children, so I’m picturing there’s other children on — and the teacher can see the children. The teacher said she heard a commotion, heard profanity.”

“Realized there was some type of domestic altercation. Still could see the child that’s online. The teacher said she mutes her button so nobody has to hear it and then she sees the 10-year-old put her hands up to her ears,” he continued.

“Almost immediately after the child put her hands up to her ears, the computer screen went blank. We know the computer was hit with a projectile,” he added.

Morales’ fiancé was with her on the phone when she told him Williams entered her place. He told her to call the police, but things escalated quickly. “Why? She didn’t do nothing. Why? She didn’t deserve it. I wasn’t there to save her. I wasn’t there,” he said.

According to reports, Morales was shot multiple times and none of her four children nor two of their cousins present sustained any physical injuries, but the scene of their mother an aunt being killed before their eyes will probably stay with them for a very long time.

The spokesperson of Martin County School District expressed condolences on the behalf of the school.

“Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to the family and children who were witnesses to this heartbreaking and senseless tragedy. The incident is still under active investigation by law enforcement, and we will continue to respect the privacy of the teacher and our students,” he was reported saying, according to NBC.

GoFundMe

Relatives and friends of the family set up a GoFundMe page that would help the kids. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. We hope they would be able to overcome this tragedy with time, as for their mother’s killer, we hope he rots in Hell.

Peter Falk, who played famous detective Columbo, ‘couldn’t remember’ his award-winning role near end of his life

When Peter Falk was in his 20s, he was a restless young man who showed interest in joining in a community theater group. Who knew that this decision would later lead for this man to portray the character of one of the most famous TV detectives, Columbo.

Throughout the years, Falk played many roles in different movies and on stage, but somehow, he would remain a synonym of the cigar-chomping detective wearing a raincoat and solving cases and mysteries thanks to his wisdom. Well, the wisdom of his wife, who never really showed on screen, as well.

He later played the role of the vicious killer Abe Reles in Murder, Inc and starred along with Bette Davis in Pocketful of Miracles.

NBC / YouTube

Sadly, this Emmy-awarded and Oscar-nominated actor passed away in 2011. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease but the reason of his passing were complications due to pneumonia.

When he was just three years old, Falk had cancer and lost his eye as a result of that. It was the reason why he was told by many at the beginning of his acting career not to expect much. However, he proved everyone wrong and made a name for himself.

Doctor Stephen Read who treated Falk throughout the years shared some heart-breaking news with the fans. He said that due to the Alzheimer’s, Falk had hard times remembering he played the famous detective Columbo.

Take a look at a scene from the famous series below and share it with fans.

Soldier’s girlfriend sells his dog of many years on Craigslist while he is deployed

A soldier named Robert Gabbert learned that his girlfriend from Hell did the most outrageous thing while he was deployed. Believe it or not, she sold his dog of many years, Baxter, on Craigslist.

Robert couldn’t believe his best friend now belonged to someone else. Of course, he was determined to do all in his power to get him back, but things didn’t really go as smooth as planed.

Facebook

The thing was that the family that bought Baxter got too attached to him, especially the kids. So, they didn’t plan on returning him to his rightful owner.

Facebook

Thankfully, with the help of the social media, they eventually changed their mind and realized that Baxter belonged to Robert. Namely, the word of what happened to Robert spread around and more and more people stood by his side, asking for him and Baxter to be reunited.

“I think the people that bought the dog read the stories and felt bad,” said Robert’s dad, Mr. Gabbert.

Facebook

“I guess, there’s been so many people supporting Robbie, that the family came forward with the dog and they’re going to return it,” he added.

Facebook

Robert was over the moon when he learned his pal would be home again.

This soldier’s Facebook page is full of cute photos of him and Baxter hanging around and sharing precious moments together. That was one of the reasons why people wanted for them to be together again, so that they can enjoy their days as they used to.

The good thing is that the family who bought and later returned Baxter will get to choose another dog and Mr. Gabbert is paying for it. It’s his way to thank them for doing the right thing.

“I do feel bad for them. They bought him and didn’t know that he wasn’t hers to sell. The kids should have a dog,” he said.

We don’t know what happened to the girlfriend who created this whole mass, but we hope she’s no longer part of Robert’s life.

George Strait is proud of his son who’s a successful team roper and a country singer

Every parent’s dream is their children to be successful and many wish for them to take into their footsteps, especially is they are successful at what they do themselves.

George Strait has a lot to be proud of. He has an impressive career as a country music singer, songwriter, actor, and a music producer whose passion is team roping. The “King of Country” is one of the most influential and popular recording artists of all time.

Strait’s son, George Harvey Strait Jr. (aka Bubba), is making his dad very proud as it looks these two are like two peas in a pod not only when it comes to the great looks, but the character and the interests as well.

Bubba became a team roper and is very successful at what he does. He’s a
team member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

Back in 2004, Strait spoke of his son’s passion and profession and told The Team Roping Journal, “It’s the greatest feeling in the world to watch my son win a roping, or even to just watch him compete,” adding, “Bubba and I have been fortunate to win a couple of buckles together, and that, my friends, is the ultimate.”

Bubba lives in Texas with his wife Tamara and their two children and he’s pursuing career in music thus following into his famous father’s footsteps. Besides being a singer on his own, Bubba has written songs for his dad in the past.

Take a look at these father and son performing “Arkansas Dave” which was written by Bubba side by side. Amazing!

Mom and six-year-old daughter stun the world with incredible rendition of “Shallow”

Since it first aired back in 2006, one of our favorite shows, America’s Got Talent, has launched many talents who now have impressive careers.

When Sophie Fatu first took that stage, she was just 5 years old. And even being that young, she still managed to wow the audience and the whole country.

Not only her vocal abilities were pretty impressive, but the fact that she memorized the lyrics of the song “New York, New York,” by Frank Sinatra without making a single mistake was awe-inspiring.

With her cute smile, blue eyes, and long wavy hair, Sophie stole the hearts of many. Simon even tried to “set her up” with her son Eric who had a crush on her.

After the show, sweet Sophie pursued a career in music and is now known as one of the most famous child jazz singers.

This time, she caught the attention of many once again after she posted a video of her and her mom performing “Shallow” from A Star is Born. Listening to the mesmerizing voices of this mother and daughter duo blend in perfection, it’s safe to say that the saying “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” is completely true for them. It looks like the talent for music runs in the genes of this family.

From the way Sophie is looking at her mom, we can say she admires her and sees her as her role model. The video which was taken a year ago, when Sophie was 6 years old has been seen over 3.7 million times. Once you hear them belting the lyrics you’ll understand why.

When Sophie starts singing it’s like magic filling the air. And the moment mom Vicky joins, the experience is lifted to a whole new level. These two aren’t just adorable mother and daughter but a singing match made in Heaven.

Vicky is from Russia and she’s pretty famous there as she’s a singer and a pianist player who started her career when she was around Sophie’s age.

Speaking to the Daily Press, Vicky said, “I was a little older than Sophie when my career started. I was discovered very early and I toured and traveled the world. I played for the Pope and the Queen of England and also won the World Piano Competition at the age of 13. It was a fun life.”

However, after she had her kids, she put her career on hold and dedicated her time to her family. But now that Sophie’s talent has been noticed by the world, Vicky’s career seems to be taking off again.

“I believe things happen for a reason and that there’s a right time for everything. Thanks to Sophie’s career taking off, that has led me into meeting my new manager and am back to performing and to claiming what was mine all those years ago,” Vicky added.

The good thing is that this isn’t the only joint performance between Vicky and her sweet daughter Sophie.

Listen to them perform in the video below and enjoy. And yes, don’t forget to share this with your friends.

What do you see on the photo, a beach or a car door? This question has taken the Internet by storm

Human mind is incredible and works in unique ways. That is why different people perceive same things in a different manner. Most times, the question isn’t whether something is right or wrong, but it’s all about how we see the world around us.

If you want to better understand what I am talking about just think of the time when basically the whole world was divided about the black and blue dress, or should I say it was white and gold?

Well, this time another photo is causing a stir among Internet users. Some people claim what they see on the photo below is a beach during a quiet night and waves lapping at the shore, while others say it’s just a part of a damaged car door. So which group do you belong to? The former or the latter?

Source: Nxyxm/Twitter

Some people say they see both at the same time. But did you know that scientists claim what you see can tell a lot about your character?

Apparently, if you see a beach then you are a creative person with artistic traits, and if you see a car door then you are more practical minded.

Source: Nxyxm/Twitter

Now, for those of you who are creative, sorry to disappoint you but this photo features a damaged car door.

The interesting thing is that the original tweet was retweeted 2,500 times and had a lot of likes and comments like the ones below.

Creative people tend to see things in the ordinary objects. Has it ever happened to you to find incredible shapes in the clouds? If yes, you are a creative soul.

If you liked this optical illusion take a look at some more. These really play games with your brains.

Do these two have superpowers? Or your brain is messing with you?

Probably one of my favorite optical illusions, those involving talented artists and some face paint.

If you found this intriguing and fun make sure you share it with your friends and test their perception and ‘vision.’

Single mom of three wins dream home renovation on “Extreme Makeover” – years later she gets evicted

Arlene Nickless had a hard time make ends meet after her husband Tim passed away and left her to take care of their three sons all by herself.

Tim worked as a critical care nurse but contracted hepatitis C from a patient and died as a result of the disease.

After a long period of struggling, it looked like this widow’s dream finally came true after her friends and neighbors entered her onto the reality TV show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Arlene was over the moon. Her kids were about to get the home they always deserved to live in and which their mom couldn’t afford to give them.

After the renovation was over, Arlene’s home looked awesome. It was a place everyone would like to be staying in. However, with the renovation came financial problems. Namely, over the course of nine years, property taxes tripled and this mom who already had a hard time keeping on top of her finances was now unable to pay them on time.

Arlene tried contacting the mortgage company and plead them to work out a payment schedule that would fit her, but she was given a silent treatment.

Sadly, that meant that Arlene and her children had to leave their home. An eviction notice came in to her mail and it was the end of it. Her friends and neighbors who helped her with the renovation couldn’t believe what was happening.

The family rushed to pack up all their belongings before the sheriff came on the eviction day, otherwise, they would be forced to leave anything unpacked behind.

Arlene’s story spread around like a wildfire and has been seen by over 7 million people who agree that what happened to this poor mother speaks of the flaws of the American systems.

Source: Inside Edition/YouTube

Was it really possible for the mortgage company to refuse to step in for Arlene only because they wanted her house? Most people agree the answer to this question is a resounding yes. What country do we live in when a struggling single mother with three children is left on the street?

Take a look at Arlene’s full story in the video below? What do you think of it?

Cruel owner abandons Golden Lab in the woods before getting into her car and driving off

Owners who neglect and abandon their pets without a touch of remorse deserve a special place in Hell.

Footage from a home near the Vacouver Park, in Portland, Oregon, shows a cruel scene of a woman abandoning her Golden Lab in the most inhumane manner possible. She could be seen getting out of her Tesla car and taking the leash off of the dog before they go into the woods. Moments later, the woman gets back running, gets in the car, and drives off.

The dog runs after her but she’s already gone.

YouTube

The footage was shared by a woman named Alyssa Ott who checked her home’s security camera after she was told by some of the neighbors that someone was lingering around her property for a long period of time.

“I was like, ‘I think this lady is leaving her dog down here,’” Alyssa said. “I saw her take the leash off and throw it back in the car.”

KOMO News

After the incident took place, the confused dog who had no idea why he was left behind and probably kept wondering where his owner was was taken in by the shelter I Paw’d It Forward.

Kerilyn Jakubs who runs the shelter said that after the story of the abandoned dog spread around, they received plenty of calls from people who wanted to adopt him. The sweet dog, however, won’t be put up for adoption until the investigation is ongoing.

Hopefully, the cruel woman would be identified and tracked down as soon as possible. For the act she committed, she could be facing charges of animal cruelty.

Below is the footage of the cruel act of abandonment.

Sam Elliott speaks of the male role models who helped him turn into the man that he is today

The name of Sam Elliott is likely to remind you of a fearless cowboy. Throughout the years, this actor played many roles and earned many nominations including an Academy Award nomination, two Golden Globe Award nominations and two Primetime Emmy Award nominations.

From his days in the TV series The Sacketts, to his comedic turn on Netflix’s The Ranch and his role in A Star is Born, Elliott’s career of over 50 years is truly impressive.

All his roles portrayed him as a tough guy, and he now speaks of the male role models in his life in an interview that touched many fans.

Elliott opened up about his life and said how all he learned about life and work ethics he learned it from his dad. He describes his father as the person who influenced his life the most. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 54, when Elliott was 18.

Elliott knows that his dad would be proud of the man he turned, and we totally agree.

YouTube/theoffthecamerashow

“I can only speak of the men that were in my life and that was my dad and his friends,” Elliott said, “Those are the men that I grew up going fishing and, you know, spending time with.”

He believed the values these men lived by was what he needed to possess as well and he did all he could to be like them.

YouTube/theoffthecamerashow

Elliott and his dad were very close, but he confessed how his old man never believed Elliott would get anywhere as an actor, not because he didn’t believe in his son and his qualities, but because he wasn’t a fan of acting.

“My dad died thinking I was a total idiot for wanting to be an actor,” Elliott said laughing, “He said ‘you got a snowball’s chance in hell having a f*#king career in that tomb.’”

Sadly, he didn’t get to witness his son’s huge success.

Cruel mother and her boyfriend abandon her 6-year-old daughter in the middle of the street and throw her clothes through the window before they drive off

A shocking video shows a careless mother and her boyfriend abandoning her daughter in the middle of the street.

The 6-year-old girl named Emma was in distress and had no idea what to do or where to go. Luckily, she was noticed by a woman named Mishka Peart who was getting home after she had finished her workout. Mishka said how she never works out in the morning, but that day she did, and it feels as though she was supposed to find this girl and help her.

The cruel abandonment took place at 140th Ave. from Springfield Blvd.

When Mishka saw Emma, the girl had a bag with some stuff in and another garbage bag. When Mishka approached and asked her what she was doing there all alone and where she was going, the girl started crying and said she had no idea and added, “I don’t know. They drove off and left me.”

Speaking to CBS New York, Mishka said of Emma, “She was very emotional and she was just scared.”

Emma’s mother, Patrice Chambers, and her boyfriend, Mark Pamphile, simply abandoned the girl. It can be seen on the footage how they throw her bags through the window and drive off while the girl is confused and waves at them to return.

New York Daily News reported of the incident and said that before the abandonment took place Pamphile left a voicemail to Emma’s father saying, “You better come get your daughter. Your daughter is in the street not sleeping nowhere. She is crying like a little b—-” while Emma could be heard crying in the background.

Mishka alerted the police about Emma and her mom and the boyfriend were tracked down in a matter of hours.

According to court documents, the reason why Emma was thrown on the street by Pamphile was that she wasn’t his kid. “These kids are a problem to me. This kid is her kid. This kid is not my kid, not my problem, not my responsibility,” he was reported saying.

The mother on the other hand said how she took Emma at her father’s place, not knowing there was a footage showing she wasn’t telling the truth.

The girl’s father, Watson, said how he and Emma’s mom broke up around four years ago and he barely saw his daughter ever since. He added how Chambers never drove Emma at his place although he agreed to take her after they called him. He said he had a doorbell video to prove that Emma wasn’t with him that day.

Later, Chambers admitted she abandoned Emma and said she did it because she was frustrated.

The good thing is that Mishka found herself in the right place at the right time and stepped in for Emma. “I am just so confused as to how people can just leave their children on the street with garbage bags. I’m mindblown. I mean, I am like in total shock. It’s like God sent me and put me here ‘cuz I do not normally work out in the mornings. I’m still in shock,” this kind-hearted woman says.

At the moment, Emma is under the care of child welfare services in Suffolk County who are planning to place her with a relative.

As for her cruel mother and her crazy boyfriend, they will both be charged with child abandonment and reckless endangerment. We hope the justice will be served and they will spend time behind bars for the ordeal they forced Emma to go through.

Looters prevent 2-year-old boy battling stage 4 cancer to celebrate his birthday at home

Owen Buell is a sweet toddler who suffers from neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that forms in certain types of nerve tissue. Sadly, that forced him to spend an extensive part of his life at the hospital.

A couple of days ago, Owen turned two, but he wasn’t able to celebrate his birthday in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family and the people who love him. The reason why were the looters who made it too dangerous for him to travel back home. Namely, he and his parents were staying at the local Ronald McDonald House, which provides comforting environment for sick children and their families.

The day prior to Owen’s big day, his mom Valerie Mitchell got a call from the nurse who told her the devastating news.

“Her exact words were, ‘I don’t know if you’ve seen the news yet, but they’re protesting or rioting outside Lurie Children’s, and we’re going to cancel all of the appointments today. I was crying. I was mad, extremely mad,” Valerie told CBSN Chicago.

Ronald McDonald House, Chicago/CBSN Chicago

Luckily, Owen and his parents got home a day after his birthday and he still got to have a birthday party. The Chicago police department offered to escort the family home, making sure they are safe and sound.

The Ronald McDonald House is near the Lurie Children’s Hospital and a temporary home to around 30 families with sick children. On the night of the protests, all the people staying there were terribly frightened. The looters caused a mess, smashed windows, and gunfire shots could be heard.

“[They were] very concerned there was a lot of activity right in front of the house, people making choices that could put them at risk and put our families at risk, so the staff was frightened,” Ronald McDonald House Charities’ Lisa Mitchell told ABC7.

Owen’s relatives set up a GoFundMe page that would help the family financially because no one is certain how much more time the sweet boy would have to spend at the hospital.

There is also a Facebook page where the family keeps everyone updated about Owen’s condition. “Thank you everyone. We knew this journey would be long and difficult, we just didn’t know how difficult it could be when the world decides to throw in a few monkey wrenches,” the site says.

CBSN Chicago

We wish Owen a very happy birthday and many more to come. We hope he will end up winner in the battle with cancer and will have an amazing life. Stay strong Owen, you are a little hero.
