The members of the military are our everyday heroes who sacrifice a lot for the safety of our country and the well-being of the nation. But, that’s not everything they do. The U.S. Navy gives great contribution to America’s culture too. Their choir known as the Sea Chanters steals the hearts of Americans from all around the country and performs at important national events, including the presidential inauguration in 2009.
When the choir was first founded, their repertoire was limited to patriotic tunes and sea chanteys, but they are now performing variety of music, including Broadway and contemporary hits. Whenever we hear them singing, our hearts fill with joy and pride.
This time, they chose some fast-tempoed songs and by the crowd’s reaction, they nailed it. Everyone who got to listen to the renditions of the classic tunes had their feet moving to the rhythm. People are commenting how what these men and women are doing is really huge and describe their shows as brilliant and polished.
Their voices blend in a perfect harmony and they bring magic in each of their shows. The video below is taken in 2014, during the Sea Chanters’ performance at the Concerts on the Avenue series at the U.S. Navy Memorial. One person said, “These guys are just awesome, I really loved it when he went to the audience and grabbed the master chief to dance with and properly addressed her by her rank afterwards, that was respect to the fullest and that little dance made her day, you could tell that she loved every minute of it. Love it.” Honestly, we loved it too. We really can’t get enough of these guys.
We usually take for granted all those professional and skilled people who serve the nation. There are many different types of professional profiles that improve the quality of the people and the nation. Nurses, doctors, police officers, fire-fighters are just few among the many who do everything just to keep the nation safe and healthy. Usually we are not aware of the efforts and the energy they give to accomplish their tasks. There are also extreme cases where some professionals, despite their well-done job, are totally forgotten and neglected by the authorities. Nowadays, we can find many such cases, particularly military veterans.
Military veterans definitely deserve more respect and care by the authorities and the society itself. These people risked their own lives so we can walk, shop and travel around the country freely. The safety of the nation was their utmost priority, something which was not for personal benefit only. Often we are not aware of how they felt, what dangers they have faced up with and how lonely sometimes they have been. Luckily, there are people who are well aware of all of these things and do everything just to express their gratitude towards these veterans.
Observing these expressions of gratitude is very often emotional and evokes positive feelings. One such situation that touched all of us was the interaction between an old veteran and some runners, participants in a local running race. Upon seeing the veterans, some of the participants nod their heads, smiled or greeting the man verbally. However, there were such runners who stopped, shook hands and thanked him for his service, dedication and everything he did for the country. Imagine the veteran’s happiness.
The initial idea of the veteran was just to see the runners and support them. He wanted to cheer them and express words of kindness. However, the events went to different direction. The participants themselves were those who expressed support and gratitude. This made the veteran very happy. He understood that everything he had been doing was acknowledged by the young generations. They appreciated his efforts, sacrifices and dedications for the nation’s well being.
Even small acts or gestures mean a fortune to someone. We don’t have to give money or other material support if we are not able to provide it. But we can always warm the veterans hearts with our support and attention.
This San Jose charity race and its participants showed that they know how to value people. The compassion and the gratitude expressed to the veteran was a lovely thing to see. We do hope the veteran is now aware that we are deeply thankful for everything he had done in his life.
If you ask young learners what their favorite subject is, you are very likely to get music as an answer. That’s because little kids love songs and nursery rhymes and find these lessons entertaining. Music also helps them take a break from all those confusing numbers and letters they study during other classes.
One music teacher knows the perfect way of combining music and learning together, and it looks like her tiny students are crazy about it.
The group of sweet children are sitting down and are lined up as their teacher comes up with some original music and lyrics. She’s playing the instrument, singing, and gives the tiny humans fun instructions such as to clap their hands. Everyone is overly excited with the cheerful song, but the boy wearing blue outfit steals the show.
He’s asking his teacher to sing faster, and as she agrees, he simply can’t contain his contagious giggling. That makes his friends burst out laughing too.
This video could be used for those “try not to laugh” challenges that are going viral. I’m positive no one would win this one, as it’s beyond hilarious. We love the way this boy knows how to have fun and we hope he won’t lose this vibrant attitude once he grows older.
These kids are so lucky to be having a cool teacher like this lady.
The Mexican architect Javier Senosiain amazed the world with his design of an underground, half-buried, house. This hobbit-like paradise was built in 1984 and it still amazes us. The house is built on a hilly site near Mexico City. Besides the interesting peanut shape of the house, Javier blended it with the nature in a very fascinating way. Since the moment of its completion, the house drew huge attention.
Javier’s ingenuity was in blending the nature and the architecture in one. The location of the house within the garden is fantastic. One can walk along the garden not realizing that he/ she walks on the roof of an underground house. This house in the time of its construction was considered quite futuristic. The total area of the house is 1,873 sq feet. Javier’s creativity and ingenuity are magnificent.
The peanut shape of the house means oval spaces in the house. The house is quite spacious. Its core is made of two oval constructions connected by narrow passageway. One is planned to be used during the day since it has got big windows, while the other oval chamber is used during the night.
Since the house looks like a cave, you would expect less daylight inside the house. However, the big windows provide more than enough sunlight inside the dwelling.
The house has got plenty of space. The comfort in the house is guaranteed. This hobbit-like house has got sleeping rooms, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, dressing room and living room. All are designed in the finest possible way.
The initial idea of the house was to provide psychological clean-up of the owner. The greenery of the house is a total contrast to the pollution in the world. The design of the house, as Javier explains, is intended to be a refreshing resort. Noise, dust and direct sunlight are sparse in the house.
Except for the bedrooms, which are one level down, the house has got sufficient daylight and ventilation. Even though the house is designed partially underground, that does not give you the impression of being buried. The design is exceptionally well-planned and makes you consider the house a masterpiece.
We bet you would like to live in this Hobbit paradise. Do you like it?
Since drinking of alcohol on regular basis is very common, even we strangers to the spirits cannot be quite aware of the changes the alcohol does to our bodies. Alcohol affects our mental and emotional status and people react differently to it. However, alcohol affects out physical body as well.
The story shared by the Reedit user ‘Ateepeemadeofpeepee’ is unbelievable. At first glance, you would think the pictures he posted are of two different people, probably relatives. However, the facts tell us something completely different story.
The pictures are actually his own. The person took the second photo 220 days later than the first one. Interestingly, on the first photo he looks somehow quite older. How did he do that? If that’s the question you are asking, the answer is very simple. He stopped drinking alcohol.
220 days passed since he stopped drinking alcohol. Personally amazed by the changes, he decided to share his story with the world. He posted the photos and wrote:
“Sobriety has given me many things back but this one is the easiest to see.”
His story went viral. Everyone were amazed by the obvious physical changes. However, other questions remained unanswered. Are there any other changes besides the facial ones once a person stops drinking alcohol? The answer is yes. There are many other improvements of the body once the alcohol is cut out.
Here is a list of nine common changes when the alcohol is not consumed.
1. Your net worth swells
This is the first thing that’s noticed by the people. You save a lot of money once you stop buying alcohol. This is also noted by the study named ‘Dry January’ conducted by University of Sussex.
2. You sleep better
The same study conducted by the University of Sussex shows that 71% of participants said that they sleep better when the alcohol is cut out.
3. Your skin looks and feels healthier
There is also improvement of the skin. It looks fresh and younger. 54% of participants noticed an improvement regarding the skin.
4. Your weight drops
Alcohol is known for the ’empty calories’. These calories are not nutritious, but they go right to gut. Therefore, 58% of the participants told us that they have lost some weight during the research.
5. You are less distracted
Alcohol is usually drank to put you in the ‘party mood’. However, it does not improve the sharpness of the brain. 57% of the sober participants noted that their thinking is sharper when no alcohol is drank.
6. You are able to re-assess your idea of ‘fun’
Participants reported that they have realized that they do not need alcohol to be funny or enjoy life.
7. You feel healthier
Having no hangovers means healthier and happier body. This was reported by 70% of participants.
8. You gain perspective on your drinking patterns
Once you stop drinking alcohol on regular basis, you gain a ‘control of the drinking pattern’. Additionally, many reported that they have understood or realized their relationship with the alcohol.
9. You feel a sense of achievement
What’s most important, you will feel a ‘sense of achievement’ once you stop drinking it. This was reported by 93% of the participants in the research.
Have you got anything to add to this list? What’s your experience, if there is such? We would like to see what’s the people’s experience and reaction regarding this issue.
November is prematurity awareness month and a time to celebrate the bravery of the tiny heroes that were welcomed into this world earlier than expected. Thankfully, with the advance of medicine, these babies are able to hit many of the milestones on time. The health risks they are exposed to as a result of being born prematurely could be gradually overcome and preemies are expected to have perfectly normal life.
A baby boy born in Tokyo who weighted just 10 ounces when born has survived and is finally able to go home with his parents who were extremely supportive and whose love helped the process of recovery a great deal. The baby spent around five months in the hospital and left the place weighing 7 pounds.
The doctor who took full care of him since the moment he was born is doctor Takeshi Arimitsu from Keio University Hospital. Unfortunately, many hospitals refuse childbirth assistance for such small babies, but not this one. According to this doctor, receiving the right treatment is crucial for the survival and the recovery of the tiny heroes.
“I can only say I’m happy that he has grown this big because honestly, I wasn’t sure he could survive,” baby’s mother said. We are equally glad for the great outcome and we hope this sweet warrior would have the life he deserves.
One of the reason people dislike insects is because of the bites. These creatures can be very frustrating and cause even some serious health problems.
Knowing the bug that bites means knowing how to treat the bite’s reaction. Therefore, here is a list of 12 most common bug bites. Understand them so the next time you know ‘who tried to ruin your comfort’.
1. Mosquito Bites
The most hated insect – the mosquito. The itchy bites and their sound irritate millions of people. You just can’t get rid of them.
2. Flea Bites
The flea bites can be very unpleasant as well. They appear on the ankles or the lower half of the legs. Usually these bites look like small balls under skin. Believe it or not, they are itchier than the mosquito bites.
3. Ant Bites
Ant bite is usually less itchy than the one of the mosquito. However, you can immediately feel the pain of the bite. Ants are not poisonous, but some ants can cause some allergic reactions.
4. Bedbug Bites
These bites look similar to those of the mosquito. The only difference is the zig-zad pattern. They are followed by swelling, pus, and redness.
5. Tick Bites
Ticks are definitely one of those bugs that give us chills. The bites of the ticks are surrounded by large circle of redness. Ticks may carry dangerous diseases and that’s why we hate them.
The bite is usually not noticed, but you can see tiny black spot in the middle of the circle. That’s the tick. Once it starts feeding, it grows.
6. Lice Bites
Lice can usually be found in the head. These bugs love hairy parts, so expect them in other places as well. They are very unpleasant and itchy. Their bites are small and red.
7. Brown Recluse Spider Bites
Spiders are not bugs, but the bites are very similar to those of the bugs. The bite of the spider can cause fevers, chills and headaches.
The bite of the spiders can be red or purple, depending on the bite.
8. Horsefly Bite
Horsefly bites are substantially larger than all these mentioned above. The bite of the horsefly can be large and swelling. There may also be blisters. In some cases these bites are source of dizziness or infections.
9. Deer Fly Bite
Deer Fly bite can be quite dangerous in comparison to the already mentioned ones. The bite can infect the person with diseases like rabbit fever. The bite results with red bump which is very painful. Some symptoms of the bite are headaches, fever and skin ulcers.
10. Wasp Stings
These stings are quite common. The wasp sting leaves a red and swollen skin. Unlike the bee sting, the wasp is not affected by the sting itself.
11. Bee Stings
Bee sting is very similar to the wasp sting. The sting leaves red and swollen skin. However, the sting itself is deadly to the bee. This is the difference between the wasp and bee stings.
12. Hornet Stings
Hornets function like wasps. They sting with the bottom part of the body. However, the hornet sting is quite different. The whole area will swell up and turn red after a hornet sting. Blisters are also common.
Hopefully this list may be useful. Whenever some of these insect disturb you, you will easily identify the ‘guilty bug’ and use proper treatment.
In 1999 ‘Mercy Me’ released ‘I can only imagine’. The song became one of the most popular songs of this Christian genre and it was performed by various different singers and groups.
The song is a popular Christian composition that tries to visualize the human’s experience in Heaven as they stand in front of God.
The deep spiritual lyrics and the message it sends made the song very popular Christian tune. Since the song follows the essence of Christianity, the song’s unconditional acceptance by the general public was expected.
20 years after its release, a group of nine collegiate vocalists from St. George, Utah, performed the song in totally new fresh way.
The new approach of performing the song was the a cappella. In addition, the members of the Noteworthy, the group’s name, showed some excellent harmony while performing the song.
The song starts with solo vocal performance. Several lines are sang and another singer joins her. A third vocalist accompanies these two singers. The harmony and the clear voices are just amazing.
All of these three singers are backed up by the rest of the group. The energy that the group shares with the audience is just wonderful.
Noteworthy is a group that’s ranked among the top female a capella ensemble at the BYU.

Noteworthy has appeared on several shows and won several awards. For example, in 2009 they have appeared in the ‘The Sing-off’ show. In 2007 they have won the first place in the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella.
The success of the group is obvious. Whenever they appear, their performances are amazing. The energy and the positive feelings they spread across the audience is their recognizable characteristics.
When I see old pictures of me, I realize that back then, parents weren’t so occupied with organizing huge birthday parties or inviting too many guests. It looks like simple family gatherings and a cake was what made the celebrations complete. Nowadays, however, things are pretty different. Modern moms and dads follow trends and throw outrageously lavish and expensive birthday parties. I don’t say that’s bad, but I do believe it’s just unnecessary. The same goes for photoshoots. Parents are willing to spend small fortunes for the sake of getting the perfect photos of their sweet babies. This includes balloons, a bunch of different cool outfits, and finding the perfect location. Some parents even buy professional cameras and attend photography classes because they don’t want to leave an important task such as taking picture of their bundle of joy in the hands of others.
Kelyn and Isaiah were overly excited with their daughter turning one, so they got ready for the best day of their life so far. The plan was to get the perfect photos, so they got equipped and had just the right place for the photoshoot in mind. They bought balloons, including one with in the shape of number one, and headed towards to a walking trail in the Broadacres area in Houston. This place is very attractive and even professional photographers use it while working.
The sweet little girl was dressed in a super cute dress, with her hair done in braids. They even got a pink blanket, and lots of ideas on how the tiny lady should pose. They started the so much anticipated photoshooting by placing the blanket on part of the walking trail with the girl holding the bouquet of balloons. Everything seemed just perfect, when their day was completely ruined.
A lady that was driving by the place, decided she didn’t want this family to be taking photos there, so she pulled her car over, got out of it, and started arguing with the parents. Apparently, she said how the photoshoot was blocking the path. The parents got all confused, and as Isaiah was holding his phone in his hand, he switched it to video mode and started recording this angry lady who was throwing a tantrum right there in front of the baby who got scared by the yelling and started crying.
The lady that was later identified as millionaire socialite Franci Neely even started kicking Isaiah and knocked his phone down. If you want to see why this rich woman got so angry because of one photoshoot, you should check the video out.
Honestly, we are very sorry this girl’s birthday was ruined in such a terrible way.
There are some excellent places for hiking in the US. However, the Pacific Northwest is undoubtedly the best region for such an outdoor activity. The nature in these states is just mesmerizing. From waterfalls to thick woods, this region is the best place for the nature lovers. Do you want to visit the Pacific Northwest? Here are some places you can visit.
Toketee Falls
The Umpqua National Forest is the place you don’t want to miss. The Toketee Falls is just breathtaking. We are sure you have seen the falls on the Internet and you have fallen in love with this wonder. However, coming to the actual place will be unforgettable experience. This is a perfect place for families, especially kids.
Carroll Rim Trail
The Pacific Northwest does not offer forests only. The Carroll Rim Trail in the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument in Oregon is one of the driest places in the region. But the place is equally amazing. By visiting the Carroll Rim Trail you will see the best sunsets ever, as well as the mesmerizing view of the Painted Hills. It takes some 1.6 miles of driving, so be sure not to miss this place.
Colchuck Lake
Washington is well-known for its high mountains, thick woods and crystal clear water bodies. The Colchuck Lake is the ‘heaven on the Earth’. The crystal clear water of the lake is surrounded by tall trees and high mountains which make this place adorable. The hiking to and around the lake is an experience that’s worth trying.
Nisqually Vista Loop Trail
Another incredible place in Washington. Mount Rainier is another hiking trail that’s accessible to everyone, no matter the age. The fascinating mountains provide an experience that is unforgettable. The stunning views of the mountains cannot be described with any words, it has to be experienced. Therefore, the next time you are in Washington, don’t skip this hiking trail.
Rattlesnake Ledge
If you are on the way to Seattle, take a break and see the Rattlesnake Ledge. This hike is classified as moderate to hard, but definitely worth trying. The elevation of the trail is some 1160 feet. The clear air and the amazing mountain views are simply stunning. You will definitely want to go back there one day!
Oneonta Gorge
Oneonta Gorge is probably one of the most beautiful places in Oregon. This place provides hiking in shallow water while enjoying the incredible view of rocks covered with moss. It is recommended that this place should be visited in summer, since in this period the water level is the lowest. Walking in shallow cold water definitely pays off once you reach the Oneonta Falls. That’s the place that will leave you speechless.
Mount Storm King
The last place on the list is probably the best. The Mount Storm King in Washington is one of the most visited places in the state. The incredible views of the mountains and the water is provide a wonderful show for the nature lovers. The trail has an elevation of 2,300 feet, which means you have to come prepared. The difficult hiking is worth once you see the surrounding. It’s stunning!
Keep this list in mind. Once you decide to see this region you don’t want to miss these geographical features. We are sure you will regret not enjoying the wonders of the nature and the beauty of our country.
Very often, when looking around me, all I see is resentment and lack of compassion, and it makes me wonder when did we, as humans, lose the ability to empathize with others? What is so wrong with us and our society, that made us forget how life is all about being there for those in need and treating everyone with utmost respect?
The story a mother from Faversham, Kent shares is just another proof how we still have a long way to go when it comes to accepting the differences, especially when people with disabilities are in the picture. Just imagine how great of a place this world would be if only we replace the ugly stares with kind words.
Vicky Page was happy to spend some quality time with her three kids, Noah who has autism and his two siblings. They went to the Royal Cinema and were pretty excited to be watching the new Dumbo film. Unfortunately, they were forced to leave the place in the middle of the screening as one stranger regarded Noah’s excitement as an inappropriate behavior.
The five-year-old boy was just happy to see an elephant flying, but that cold-hearted woman didn’t care. She wouldn’t stop staring at Vicky as though she was trying to undermine her capabilities of controlling her son, so this mother decided to leave the cinema.
“Noah wasn’t being naughty, he just got extremely excited,” Vicky explained. “He finds it quite hard to stand still when he gets excited. He couldn’t believe Dumbo could fly but instead of saying things quietly, he shouts things out pretty loud, and he just said ‘elephant fly superhero’ and then started really jumping.”
She then added, “A woman and her son kept turning and giving us quite filthy looks. I ended up apologizing and I said ‘I’m really sorry, he has autism.’ But the woman said ‘I don’t particularly care’ and that I should keep him at home if he can’t sit still.
“It made me see red and I think in the end Noah saw me tensing up and I had to leave with my children. We went through to the foyer, where he ended up having a full-blown meltdown and started headbutting the floor. It was very upsetting and I ended up getting quite emotional.”
This, however, wasn’t a first time for this mother to be told off by random strangers because of her autistic son’s behavior.
She said: “I get this sort of thing a lot. I try to avoid supermarkets – people tut, or come over to me and say ‘if you walk away from him he’ll follow you’ when he’s laying on the floor. Or ‘if you give him a really hard smack he’ll actually start to have some boundaries.’
“This sort of thing happens everywhere with everybody, but it just makes you so cross. He does look so normal when he’s not having a meltdown, but if you spoke to him you could tell he’s got needs.”
“He goes to a special needs school, so he is behind for his age. So for him to even shout out I was so proud of him as he has only been able to string a sentence together for the last the year – it shows he’s really coming on.”
Noah really deserves to be treated the same as his peers are treated. Having autism doesn’t make him any less vulnerable, so mean comments can only affect his further development in a negative way.
As for the Royal Cinema, Vicky says it would be awesome if they hold screenings especially for kids with special needs, where they would be free to express their personality without being judged about the way they behave. This would really be a great idea.
In life, it often happens that we meet people who change the course of our destiny. The thing is that we never know when these random strangers would come along our way, or how much they would influence our perspectives, but what we know is that after we welcome them in our life we learn how things weren’t as bad as they seemed.
For the sweet nine-year-old boy Thomas Daniel, that person who made a change was the caring police officer Austin Lynema. Some would say how the members of the police forces only care for giving speeding tickets and casually patrolling around the neighborhoods, but the truth is that most of them go beyond their call of duty to help citizens in need. That is exactly what officer Lynema did when he saw Thomas struggling to catch a bus one day.
When he saw the sad look on the boy’s face after he missed his ride, this caring officer approached and asked if there was something he could do to help.
The boy explained how he’s traveling to school by bus because his mother couldn’t afford to drive him to and back from school every day. Officer Lynema called the boy’s mother and asked for a permission to give him a ride with his police car.
“I saw him running down the sidewalk trying to chase his bus, he was in tears. I tried to stop his school bus for him,” Lynema said.
“He informed me he never missed a day of school. I wanted to make sure I could help him as much as I could.”
On the way to school, Thomas said how it was his birthday that day and how his mother was preparing a party for him. But, instead of being happy because of it, the boy was a bit sad. When officer Lynema asked him what was the reason behind his low spirits, Thomas told him how his classmates bully him almost every day and how probably no one would show up at his birthday party.
This was the most heartbreaking thing this officer has ever heard, so he assured Thomas that he would be there to celebrate with him. Later that evening, when officer Lynema arrived at the party, he realzied he was the only guest, and it was all so disappointing. There wasn’t even a cake.
The kind-hearted officer knew he had to do something for this sweet boy, so he and his fellow colleagues from the Grand Rapids Police Department decided to throw another party for Thomas the following day. This one was going to be way more fun and it would include a big cake and a bunch of presents.
So when Thomas got off the bus the next day, the crew was there, waiting for him with a Krispy Kreme donut cake. When the boy saw them standing there and singing, he felt he was the happiest kid on Earth.
Thomas said how this was the best birthday he’s ever had. Besides all the presents, he got himself a friend for life and someone he could always rely on, and that was the most important of all.
“People at school are happy for me because Austin … he never lets kids down, he’s a hero. I’ll never forget this until the day I die.”
This sweet story about compassion is a reminder that many times it takes just a little love and care in order for someone’s life to change for the best. Officer Lynema, thank you for your service and thank you for having such a big heart.
Oscar Saxelby-Lee is a five-year old boy, a student at the primary school in Worcester, England. This boy’s childhood turned into real battle for his life since he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.
In December, Oscar was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. This rare form of cancer threatened the boy’s life. The disease caused immature white blood cells to be released in his system. This causes lot of health problems. The doctors told his family that the possible solution is doing a stem cell transplant. The boy had only three months to find the donor and save his own life.
Luckily, Oscar was surrounded by some exceptionally good people. His teaching assistant Laura Senter talks about Oscar and his illness. She says that when the school found out about the problem, they were devastated. However, she added that they did not give up and all of them tried to help the boy.
The school organized an event in order to find the donors who can help Oscar. They decided to do whatever it takes just to save Oscar’s life. This event gathered unbelievable 5,000 people.
Sarah Keating, Oscar’s teacher, says that this is the first such case in her career. She has never witnessed similar case in her life. She joined Oscar’s fight.
The organizers made public announcement. They called everyone aged 17 to 55. The call for registration of donors was a real success. The family even raised some 11,300 dollars to cover the expenses.
It took some 200 volunteers to do the job. The first day 1,800 donors registered. However, the next day was a real surprise. Additional 3,000 donors registered in order to help the boy.
Ms. Bladen said that nobody moaned, even though they queued around the block, in the pouring rain. The spirit and generosity of people were incredible.
The huge number of registered donors surprised everyone. The large database of registered donors requires weeks to go through and pick up the most suitable donors who will save the boy’s life.
Lusa Nugent, the head of the recruitment, says that it’s very difficult to find the appropriate match because there are some 17,000 HLA characteristics to go through.
Nevertheless, Oscar’s family can now fight this disease with less stress. Knowing that there are donors and possible matches, they can go through the process more easily. Oscar is admitted to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and he has already taken some 20 blood transfusions.
Oscar is a funny and energetic boy and he deserves a second chance. The family hopes that among the donors there is a match and he or she will help Oscar beat this horrible illness. He is too young to lose the battle!
If you are a fan of talent shows and you think you’ve seen it all, wait until you meet the most enthusiastic kids from Flekeflee Primary School. What they had to show to the panel of judges and the audience once they took the stage of Britain’s Got Talent was definitely a Golden Buzzer worth, and we are all so very glad judge David Walliams thought so, too.
This performance was unlike any other. Probably the most joyous that has ever unfolded in front of your eyes. The choir, together with their loving and dedicated coach and teacher, chose Queen’s iconic rock song “Don’t Stop Me” that was released back in 1978 as part of the album “Jazz.” They didn’t only sing, but prepared an incredibly sweet choreography that matched the song’s lyrics perfectly, too. Wearing colorful masks, including ones with the judges’ faces, and dancing along the stage, they made everybody’s day.
It’s truly breathtaking how children these young carry so much enthusiasm in them. It looks like none of them has ever heard of the term stage fright, as they didn’t experience any. This much confidence is only seen in professional performers who’ve been on stage their whole life.
Judges were not sure what to expect from this group of children until they saw them moving around. That’s when they knew their performance was going to be epic. So many smiley faces who were singing as one, and their teacher who added to the whole experience. The audience couldn’t help but stand up from their seats and dance. The place was filled with positive vibes and many happy faces, and judge Simon said how he believed the show was all about it; spreading and sharing cheer and laughter. He also praised the kids’ teacher for being there for his students and nurturing their love for singing and performing. Judge David couldn’t agree more, as well as many other people who say this only shows the true importance of the educators from all around the globe. One person wrote how the Golden Buzzer should be dedicated to their hard work and their mission of helping their students become great people.
Judge Alesha couldn’t describe the choir’s performance any better when she said, “That was absolute chaos, and absolute joy.” Once you take a look at it, you’ll know what she means. One thing is for sure, no one really knows how something so cheerful could make everyone cry tears of joy. Judge David pressed that golden button everyone dreams of and took to the stage to congratulate the little winners who were over the moon.
This is something you don’t want to miss. We can’t wait to see what else these talented and happy kids have in their sleeve.
Graduation is the period for celebration. High school is finally over and we are preparing ourselves for the next step – adulthood. However, before we started worrying about our careers and future jobs, all of us have been preoccupied with one thing – the prom.
Prom night means having fun, dancing and what’s most important great look. Picking the perfect outfit can be a very tiring process, usually for the girls. While boys simply go and pick up the best suit, shirt or pants, the girls, however, spend more time and energy on that. Many of the girls go from store to store until they buy the perfect dress. But, some girls are in search of something more creative and unique.
The 17-year old Ciara Gan from the Philippines, was just like that. She wasn’t satisfied with the offer of the stores and she and her mother decided to make a totally unique dress. The results are fascinating.
The initial
idea was to hire someone to create the dress. However, Ciara did not like the
outcome and she decided to step into action. The one-month work finally paid
off.
She and her mother went to the local stores and bought all necessary supplies. With 13 yards of fabric, crystals, boning and crinoline, the girl was ready to design her best dress.
Step by step the dress was getting its shape. They sewed the panels and the form of the dress looked very well. However, the dress wasn’t getting anywhere near the end. The last details were the most beautiful decorations of the creation.
Ciara decided to hand-paint the flowers of the dress. This process lasted five days and the results are stunning. Ciara’s real work of art was inspired by the Jodi Lynn Anderson’s ‘Tiger Lily’.
Ciara says:
“I recently reread the book Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson (which touched my heart) and then decided to paint the orange florals. I strayed away from basic roses and dainty florals because although they’re pretty, they don’t reflect my personality. I love the vibrancy of loud colors like orange and green — they speak more about who I am.”
Of course, no one knew about the dress. Until she showed up at the graduation ceremony.
“i painted over 80 flowers, sewed + stoned my dress with my mama and designed the whole thing myself!”
With more than 82,000 retweets, Ciara’s creation was an instant hit. The positive comments and admirations were evident. People simply marveled at her talent and the results she achieved. She adds:
“I still really can’t believe it…It really warms my heart to see people appreciating my art.”
Real masterpiece, right? Have you seen anything similar?
When you are a student, you feel the pressure of the examination and the stress of having a test. We mostly hated school just because of that – having a lot of assignments and test. We thought those things will never end.
Many times we felt quite unprepared for these kinds of examinations. The assessment of our work made us feel nervous and sometimes angry. However, we have all been creative in avoiding these tests or, in case we can’t avoid them, we have given our best to improvise and get the good mark by pure luck.
Kids come up with very interesting and innovative ‘tricks’ or answers to solve the problems. Not prepared for the test? You haven’t studied for the tomorrow’s test or homework? No problem, just improvise. These kids and their answers tell exactly this. There isn’t any assignment that can’t be done.
Let’s see how these kids tried to ‘outsmart the teacher’.
Google Translate?
This student lives in China, and he’s learning English. We think he might be using Google Translate to do his homework.
2. Stating the Obvious
That’s definitely one thing that ended.
3. Clarification Needed
This student isn’t exactly “wrong.” Maybe “solve for x” would’ve been better phrasing for this question.
4. Genius Answers
Every answer is wrong, yet so very right.
5. 100 Years Old
There’s truth here. Maybe the question should have asked about a younger age.
6. Mariah Carey
When you’re right, you’re right, but we’re sure the teacher was looking for a different answer.
7. Problems and Solutions
We’re assuming this kid’s parents don’t coddle him at home.
8. Thinking Outside the Box
Then Miranda wouldn’t be able to see the microscope either.
9. “I Don’t Have a Sister”
That’s one way to get out of doing your homework.
10. The Future
Goals are important.
11. The Length of a Football
This does make sense.
12. “A Lot”
We’re thinking the answer was supposed to be more specific.
13. Nerd Alert
That’s one opinion.
14. Shapes
These are nice names.
15. Vegetables
We wish these were all vegetables!
16. Solving Math Problems
This is certainly a thoughtful answer.
17. Feelings
This would be incredibly scary.
18. Alphabetical Order
Wow. This student put much more work into answering this question than was intended.
Dogs. Those who own one and get to spend their days around them know what true happiness really is. Their antics are like no other, and they possess the ability to make everyone’s day. It’s not that I say cats and other animals don’t make great pets, but let’s get honest, nothing really beats dogs.
They have facilitated people’s life for centuries, as they not only make great companions, but awesome service dogs, therapy dogs, and valuable members of the police forces too. Whenever we feel down and betrayed by those we trusted the most, the dogs are there to remind us that not everything is as bad as it looks, and to assure us over and over again that they would never leave our side. Having a dog means having someone you can always rely on and a best friend for life. The time we spend with them is precious, and we must never take it for granted, because no matter how sad it sounds, they are likely to leave this world before we do.
But, no matter how brave our canines are, there is something that makes them feel anxious. Any guesses what it might be? The veterinarian, of course. Just like small children, dogs are likely to be afraid of doctor’s visits. This is the reason they may behave in a strange, very likely fun manner, whenever the check-up time is around the corner. The sweet dog from the video below is no exception. But the best thing about him is that we don’t really know how he feels. Scared, or a bit confused and puzzled maybe. What we know for sure is that he’s in anticipation of leaving the place and based on his hilarious stare, he blames his owner for placing him there.
It’s not surprising that the video had been seen millions of times, because no matter if you are a dog lover or not, this is so hilarious that you can’t stop watching it over and over again. Some people even say how the sweet dog resembles actor Samuel L. Jackson.
This dog definitely knows how to make his human feel guilty, and it doesn’t involve any movement or barking. His eyes speak for him, that’s for sure.
We are sure that this feeling of being a bit mad at his owner won’t last long and these two would continue having fun once the vet is out of the picture.
Take a look at the fun side eye this owner got and remember, you can’t hide from your dog!
If you found yourself in a situation where you had to take a stage and speak in front of a crowd, then you know how frightening that experience can be. Many times, no matter how confident we feel in our competences and our knowledge, the stage fright is simply there and gives us that trembling sensation where we start sweating and forgetting what we needed to say. However, this isn’t the case with everyone, as some people are born to give public speeches or perform in front of huge audiences. To be honest, I do believe overcoming the pressure and the stress of public speaking could be learned overtime, but I also believe that you should simply have it in yourself. Just like the sweet 19-month-old Levi Marlow from North Carolina.
I guess this adorable young man knows how things are done because he’s got a role model to look up to; his father who’s a preacher and spreads God’s word to the people of the community.
Watching his dad deliver sermons on Sundays is what makes this boy want to do it too, and he’s not afraid to give it a try, even while a lot of people are looking at him and carefully trying to figure out what he has to say. His baby talking makes the whole thing even more adorable. In the video below, not only he took the “stage” and delivered words of wisdom to his audience, but he tried copying his father’s gestures too.
As he’s walking back and forth, he’s using his hands in order to make the message he’s trying to deliver more clear. Isn’t he a little preacher in the making? Judging from the passion he has in him, we would definitely say yes.
Levi’s first ever sermon was so cute that it didn’t only steal the hearts of those at the church, but millions of other people from across the country who got to see the video of him preaching. Needless to say, everyone’s praising his passion.
This is just another example that kids learn best by observing and are trying to imitate the behavior of their parents and other close relative members. This is why we should always mind the way we act in front of these little smarty pants.
Levi’s first sermon is going to make your day, as he’s one of the most adorable toddlers we’ve ever seen. With such a natural talent for public speaking, we may see him taking part in a talent show where he would show his other skills too. This is, of course, in case he doesn’t become a preacher just like his dad.
This year’s 24/7 Dance Competition featured some great choreographies and performances. Well-planned moved and addictive beats resulted with some memorable performance by dancers with great talents. One of the dancers who really amazed the people is the young Ella Dobler.
Ella Dobler is just a kid with exceptional talents. This girl has been dancing since she was a toddler and in very short period of time she proved that she’s a tough competitor. Ella is a member of the New Level Dance Company. This year, she showed what she knows with Rihanna’s ‘Diamond’ in the background. She really shone on the stage.
Since 2016, Ella has been competing in various different dance competitions. Her trainer Ashley Massicotte taught her some very difficult moves and choreographies that leave no one indifferent. The knowledge and skills that Ella has are fascinating.
Ella’s hard work pays off. In 2016 she got the first place in the World Class Talent competitions. She has amazed people with the choreography on the song ‘Heaven on Earth’. Moreover, she has won several different places, including first and second, on several unrelated dance competitions. What really surprised the audience was the jazz performance of ‘Grace Kelly’ in Tampa. That was a real show. Ella even won the platinum award at JUMP in Miami.
Thanks to Ashley, Ella surprises people wherever she appears. Ashley is actually the owner of the New Level Dance Company and they have some very talented members. From small kid at the age of 3 up to teenagers at the age of 19, NLD Company’s potential is amazing. They offer different dancing styles and different level of skills.
24/7 Dance Competition is a very interesting show that features very creative performances and highly talented dancers. The show is actually a dance workshop that is simultaneously held in 24 different cities across the US. It’s usually organized from Friday until Sunday, where Friday is reserved for the solo competitors. Saturday is reserved for the group dance performances, while Sunday is for scholarship awards and performances for the faculty.
Ella’s audition was in Orlando. Her solo performance on Rihanna’s ‘Diamond’ allowed her to join the Age 5 Contemporary Sidekick Solo. Ella simply wowed the people who have been watching it.
We hope to see some more excellent performances by Ella. Such a great talent!
Good people definitely still exist. A group of young boys proved that kindness and good-hearted people are around us and they are always there to help the vulnerable.
Moreover, what this story teaches us is that good-doing pays off. The community is aware of the good-hearted and kind people and they can reward them in any possible way. You just don’t know what kind of help you need to provide.
This interesting story happened in Caldwell, Idaho. The group of young boys were having a great time together while walking the Caldwell streets. On their way home, they came across an old man, who had problems walking.
Jose Gomez had problems with his walking. Therefore, he used the walker. Unfortunately, his legs could not keep the body upright and he fell. A young man saw Jose and tried to help him. However, the problem was that Jose could not stand on his own legs!
The group of boys saw the man trying to help Jose. Upon seeing that the man cannot do the task on his own, they jumped into action. They helped the old man stand up. However, they quickly realised that the man cannot walk on his own, and the boys decided to walk him home safely.
Nevertheless, the boys were not aware of one thing. People around them saw this kind gesture. Erika Tovar is the woman who saw the boys kindness in action and she documented all of that. She also took some photos.
Erika uploaded the photos on her Facebook page and spread this kind story with her friends and community. She posted:
“Shout out to these young boys for helping an elderly man off the ground after he fell and walking him home.”
The post quickly got spread among her friends. In a very short time more than 700 times if has been shared. Everyone acknowledged the boys’ kindness. As a reward to their action, the Sweet Spot Bakery prepared a surprise for the boys. They promised to treat the teenagers and the man with some of their sweets.
This story got the local news stations’ attention. The news and the people who learn about the boys’ actions expressed words of gratitude for their kindness and supported the teenagers’ good-doing. During the interviews the boys wanted to say that they helped the man just because he needed help, not for the treats or the fame on the local stations. They would never do good things just to have some material or non-material benefits.
These boys taught us a lesson. Helping people is the best thing we can do for our community and the simple ‘Thank You’ words in many cases are the best rewards. Well done boys!
Eric Desplinter and Gabrielle Wallace got the nation’s attention with their disappearance. These two hikers’ regular hiking turned out to be very dangerous since their status of missing persons alerted the San Bernardino County.
Eric, 33 and Gabrielle, 31, were supposed to be back home at 7 p.m. on April 6, but they were last seen at 10 a.m. that morning. This alerted the authorities and the search began.
The snowy California mountains could have been deadly for these two hikers. Fortunately, the rescue mission was initiated on time. In Cucamonga Canyon the rescuers spotted two sets of footprints and these brought hopes to everyone who were afraid for the hikers’ safety.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office announced that the footprints helped them to find the hikers. Eric and Gabrielle were found on April 10. They were perfectly healthy and safe. They were found next to a campfire they have built.
With limited food and water supplies, the hikers managed to endure the harsh conditions. They divided the food equally and used it rationally. Fortunately, they managed to build a camp-fire which contributed to their safety.
The moment of discovery was a moment of happiness for the rescuers and the hikers. Eric and Gabrielle were again safe and united with their families.
For KCBS, Eric says:
“We just lost the trail. We had a little bit of a slip going to the peak of Cucamonga Peak and decided we wouldn’t go back up the ice and snow, so we tried to descend through a valley, but that valley was more treacherous than we thought.”
They don’t know to to thank all the rescuers. Their efforts saved these two hikers’ lives. Eric adds:
“We’re both perfectly fine, no serious injuries. Thank you to all the volunteers that were helping look for us, we’re very grateful to be found tonight. I’m ready to get to bed and get some rest.”
The authorities on the other hand say that it’s a real miracle that these two hikers are perfectly healthy, especially having in mind the limited food supplies.
The County Sheriff’s Office announced:
“Volunteers are a real blessing to our agencies, providing thousands of hours giving back to make our communities better and stronger. This is a perfect example of their commitment.”
Probably, most of you remember the time you were in a middle school and all those demanding projects your teachers asked you to hand in that came along. I know I enjoyed making them, although it was always a time-consuming process. Nowadays, the curriculum is completely the same and students are asked to work on different projects that would help them share their knowledge on certain subject, and express their creativity at the same time.
When the history teacher at Celina Middle School asked the students to create physical representation of certain historical events, Tyler Carlin had something awesome in mind. This middle school student thought it would be great if he uses this chance to give tribute and respect to the fallen soldiers who lost their life fighting for our country so he chose to work on a replica of the “battle cross” monument. He got a helmet, a boot, and a nerf gun, and starter working. Unfortunately, his enthusiasm was crashed after the school’s staff found Tyler’s project inappropriate.
Just as he entered the school with the replica in his hands, he found himself in trouble. The principal invited him in his office and handed him a 3-day in-school suspension. The reason why, according to The Todd Starnes Show, was “bringing a look-alike weapon to school and creating a disturbance.”
The thing is that Tyler only proceeded with his idea of creating this monument after he got approval by his teacher. But it looked like it wasn’t something the school cared about.
Speaking to FOX News, Tyler said: “This means so much to me because that was the last chance that… the military, their friends got to say goodby to them and then they had to go back out and fight. Also, my dad’s friend is like a grandpa to me. And he, like, showed me his war stories from Vietnam… he just showed me all about that.”
Tyler schoolmates, as well as members of the community stood behind him after they’ve heard of his punishment.
“The community is standing behind me on this,” Carlin explained. “They held a protest.”
Needless to say, Tyler’s parents weren’t happy with the school’s decision either. They knew how much this all meant to their son and instead of being praised for wanting to honor those who gave their life for our freedom, he got suspended. After the story spread around, the school changed the charge to “insubordination,” but they refuse to change the charge from Tyler’s record despite the parents and the community got involved.
We do agree how every school should be extra cautious when it comes to students bringing any type of weapon inside the building or near it, but we shouldn’t forget that this was a project Tyler’s teacher pre-approved. On top of that, it stood for something that many people care for.

It’s a real tragedy to see our veterans being forgotten, with little to none material or community support. There are many cases where the veterans, who fought for the country, were totally forgotten by the nation they served for.
One such example was John T. Fitzmaurice. This veteran who fought for the US Army in the Vietnam War died at the age of 68. What’s even more tragic is that he died as a homeless man!
John did not have much friends or family in his life. The war and the subsequent life left him alone and at the end of his journey a homeless person. There was no one even to claim his body!
John’s funeral was planned to be small one, with no more than ten people present at the funeral itself.
However, a group of high school students learnt about John’s fate and did something very unforgettable.
The students were obviously touched by John’s tragic fate. They gathered up and decided that the veteran must have a funeral that he deserves. He has to be honoured as a fighter for the nation’s well-being.
The adolescents that organized this event were students at the Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, Massachusetts.
These students showed the world how to respect our old veterans. Besides organizing the funeral itself, they even carried the casket by themselves.
John’s final resting place was at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. He was buried with full Mass in the local church.
Since the old veteran did not have any family members, the boys stood as his family. They proudly finished the task.
Marcus Miller, a school spokesman, for Inside Edition said:
”They were moved by the honor of standing in for this man who had no family. It was a lesson in honoring every person’s humanity.”
John was sent to his grave with all respects thanks to these students.
The boys were not the only people who attended the funeral. Besides them, there were groups of juniors and seniors who gave their respect to the poor man.
The boys were proud to gave everything they could just to honour the veteran. Knowing that there was no one that cared for the veteran, it was their honour to say the last goodbye to the veteran.
Some 40 people attended the Mass in the chapel and John’s funeral.
“This is the first time we’ve done this,” Miller added, ”but it won’t be the last.”
This was a reason for developing a joint project between the school and Lazarus Ministry and the Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home in the Boston suburb of West Roxbury.
The goal of the project was to organize funerals for homeless and poor people and people who were left totally alone in this world.
“This is their first experience of being this close to a casket, and feeling the weight of this person, and realizing he was a human being like the rest of us and he deserved companionship”, Marcus Miller said.
This experience of the boys is very unique. Not many in our country can talk about similar actions. Hopefully this will help them mature into serious and responsible adults.
The president of the Memorial High School had the honour of draping the flag across John’s coffin.
For the Boston Herald, the president says:
“For our students and the Catholic Memorial community to be his family today was a privilege. Our students know that by the grace of God, we have the life that we have.”
This story has reached thousands of people out there. They showed the world how to respect people and taught us a lesson that we have no rights to forget the people who fought for this country.
The details of the funeral can be seen in this video.
These boys are real heroes. Thanks to them the veteran got the funeral that he deserved. At the end it turned out that he wasn’t completely forgotten by the society, all thanks to these boys and their efforts.
Share this article if you believe all veterans of the U.S. army should be celebrated like the heroes they really are.
Getting older means lots of physical changes. As the body gets old, the hair colour changes, the thickness of hair is not the same as it used to be and the face undergoes some major physical transformations. Add to this the weight, dry skin and wrinkles, you have the idea how the body looks like in the later stages of the life.
This process affects all of us and it’s natural course of the things. Marianne from Minnesota, a 56-year old woman, is happy with her life. With healthy kids, loving family and excellent marriage, she saw some joy in the life. However, the only thing that she wanted to change a bit is her physical appearance.
For a very long Marianne did not need any make-up or treatment on her hair. She was satisfied with her look and her hairstyle. She was happy and glad that she didn’t spend a lot of time in salons. However, two years ago, something changed a bit. She decided that she needs something to freshen up the style and improve the physical appearance. But, she had a problem: she didn’t know what hairstyle and hair colour suit her best? Therefore, she just kept the natural grey colour.
“When you’re sixteen or eighteen years old you get to try a whole bunch of cool stuff and find your own way. But there isn’t as much help out there to figure out what you should do when you’re getting older.”
Marianne’s idea was to reflect her inner happiness. Since she felt happy and satisfied inside, why not having the same look outside? Therefore, she decided to pay a visit the Makeover Guy – Christopher Hopkins. Upon arriving the salon, she had her well-known hair style. The pixie hairstyle her uncle suggested long time ago was inseparable from Marianne’s personality. But not for a very long time!
Christopher knows how to make women happy. With cutting the hair, applying new hair colour and little make-up, Marianne’s transformation is unbelievable. The new fresh style and her happy face say all. The new look opens up Marianne’s face and improves the self-confidence of the lady. Once again, there is the proof that age is just a number!
“When I got here I was feeling 56 going on 75 plus and now I feel like 56 going on 30 and it’s fabulous.”
Marianne adds:
“I want to be a glam gram ’cause I’m a new grandma. and I really feel like a glam gram.”
Many people do not even bother about the look when they get older. However, from time to time we have to freshen up our bodies. Having a new style or some minor physical improvements, may drastically improve our emotional status as well.
