2-day-old baby girl found wrapped in a plastic back with a knife sticking out of her back

Gym instructor Diego Sebastian Penayo from Posadas, Argentina, stumbled upon an abandoned baby wrapped in a plastic bag and covered with a blanket. When he rushed to take the poor soul in his hands, he noticed something shocking. A rusty knife was sticking out of the little one’s back. Her fragile and tiny body was also covered in wounds which spoke of the horrific things she suffered at only two days old.

The baby was taken to the Pediatric Hospital Dr. Fernando Barreyro and was expected to recover. Despite the visible wounds, her vital organs weren’t been damaged.

As reported by The Sun, the baby’s mother was identified and arrested but her name wasn’t revealed. Authorities believe she gave birth at Dr. Ramon Madariaga Treble Hospital and abandoned her daughter at a nearby street, according to The Daily Mail.

David Halac, a representative of the hospital where the baby was treated, said that the knife which was stuck in the baby’s back was the same one that was used to inflict the other injuries.

As this baby girl’s survival was a real miracle, the staff at the hospital decided to name her Esperanza, which stands for Hope in Spanish.

We are so very sorry Esperanza had to go through such an ordeal just two days after she entered this world, but we are at the same time overjoyed she got to live. We hope she will end up with a loving family.

Christopher Plummer, Oscar-winning legend of stage and screen, dies at 91

Hollywood paid tribute to one of the best and most versatile actors, Canadian-born Christopher Plummer who died on Friday at the age of 91.

Plummer was born in 1929 in Toronto, and during his career which spanned seventy years he played a number of different roles, but he will probably be best remembered by many for his role as Captain Von Trapp in the iconic musical The Sound of Music.

Known as a classically-trained Shakespearean, Plummer gained worldwide recognition for his performances in film, television, and on stage, where he played the leading roles in a huge number of productions, including Hamlet, Macbeth, Richard III, and many more.

Plummer’s talent and success won him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor at the age of 82 for Beginners. At the age of 88, he was nominated for Oscar for All the Money in the World, thus became the oldest person to be nominated in an acting category. At the same time, Plummer won two Tony Awards, out of seven nominations, a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Bafta. He is one of the few actors who have won the Triple Crown of Acting.

Speaking of the role which somehow marked his career, Plummer once told The New York Times: “That damn movie follows me around like an albatross,” calling Von Trapp an “empty carcass of a role.”

In a 2009 interview, the actor was reported saying: “[The Sound of Music] was a very well-made movie, and it’s a family movie and we haven’t seen a family movie, I don’t think, on that scale for ages. I don’t mind that. It just happened to be not my particular cup of tea.”

Plummer earned further acclaim for the films The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, All the Money in the World, Knives Out, and a lot more.

His wife, Elaine Taylor, said the actor died peacefully in their family home and stated the cause of death was a blow to the head as a result of a fall.

“We’ve lost one of our most iconic and beloved actors,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said. “[He] gave life to so many characters we love and cherish.” A huge number of actors and actresses paid tribute to Plummer.

“My heart is broken. Thank you always for your laughter, your warmth, your talent… the vitamins when I got sick, your patience, your partnership and your company,” Knives Out star Ana de Armas wrote on Instagram.

“The world has lost a consummate actor today and I have lost a cherished friend,” Dame Julie said in a statement. “I treasure the memories of our work together and all the humor and fun we shared through the years.”

Rest in peace.

Two FBI agents killed and three injured while serving a search warrant in child-pornography investigation

In a shooting which took place February 2, in Sunrise, Florida, two FBI agents were killed and three were injured.

According to NBC News, at the time of the incident, the agents were serving a search warrant in a case involving violent crimes against children and were aiming at seizing evidence in child pornography investigation.

Sadly, things took different turn when the suspect began shooting and barricaded himself inside the complex.

Alyssa Ostroff, a young woman living in an apartment close to the shooting scene said how there were “FBI agents and SWAT all over the place” and law-enforcement personnel was asking the suspect to surrender through a megaphone. “It got really quiet after that,” she added.

The agents who lost their lives that day were both veterans who had spent more than six years investigating child-exploitation cases and had been involved in high-profile cases, according to George Piro, special agent in charge of the Miami field office. The injured agents are now stable.

Both agent Daniel Alfin and agent Laura Schwartzenberger helped save the lives of hundreds of children involved in child pornography and sex trafficking over the years.

Speaking of the late agents and their immense contribution in the fight against children exploitation, Nicholas Weaver, a computer security expert at the University of California at Berkeley said: “Their work speaks for itself: You just read the court cases and transcripts and it breaks your heart. I can’t even hope to estimate the number of children Agent Alfin and Agent Schwartzenberger’s investigations have rescued from horrific circumstances. The loss of both is a tragedy.”

“Every day, FBI special agents put themselves in harm’s way to keep the American people safe. Special Agent Alfin and Special Agent Schwartzenberger exemplified heroism today in defense of their country,” FBI Director Christopher Wray said.

“The FBI will always honor their ultimate sacrifice and will be forever grateful for their bravery. We continue to stand by our FBI Family, and the families of these special agents, in the days to come, bringing every resource we can to get through this together.”

“The FBI is a family, and our chosen profession is fraught with danger. Today, this grim reality has taken two of our best from our family.”

Trump’s son Eric says his dad is the “most beloved political figure in U.S. history”

Former president Donald Trump is the only U.S. president or other federal official to be impeached twice. The second impeachment trial against him is to commence on February 9, 2021. The New York Times reported that The House adopted one article of impeachment against Trump: incitement of insurrection, and charged him with “high crimes and misdemeanors” for inciting the storming of the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

According to his children, however, this whole thing is an unjust by those who want see their dad fail.

Eric, Trump’s son, has been under the spotlight these days after his claims that his father is the most beloved political figure in history reached Internet and magazines.

Speaking with Fox News pro-Trump commentator Sean Hannity, Eric claimed his father had nothing to do with the Capitol riots and accused the democrats of “manufacturing everything under the sun against my father, against all of us. They do it every single day.”

“They continue to do it. Even when he’s a private citizen, they’re still trying to impeach him,” Eric added.

Of course, a son standing for his father isn’t something strange or unusual, but Eric presenting Trump as the most beloved political figure is unjustified based on the number of polls that emerged during his one-term presidency. According to reports, Trump is the first president since before World War Two not to manage an average rating of over 50%.

However, Trump remains a very popular figure among the Republican Party with many being convinced he will run again for president in 2024.

Recently, Eric took a trip to Scotland after The Scottish Green Party attempted to probe the Trump family golf courses. Speaking of this matter, Eric said: “At a critical time when politicians should be focused on saving lives and reopening businesses in Scotland, they are focused on advancing their personal agendas.”

“The Trump Organisation has invested hundreds of millions of dollars into the Scottish economy, rescued Turnberry, and rebuilt it into one of the finest resorts anywhere in the world.

“In both Aberdeen and Turnberry, the Trump Organisation has created thousands of jobs and has made an overwhelming contribution to the leisure and tourism industry,” Eric added.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you believe Trump deserves to be considered a beloved history figure?

GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene claimed she had Trump’s support after phone call with her “all time favorite POTUS”

The House voted Thursday evening to remove GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from the Education and Budget committees after controversial statements she has given in the past have triggered backlash.

Greene who was elected in November, representing a district in the southern state of Georgia, had claimed before her election that school shootings including the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School as well as the Las Vegas music festival shooting in 2017 and the 9/11 attacks were staged.

She is also a well known believer in the disproven and discredited QAnon far-right conspiracy theory alleging that “a secret group of Satan-worshipping, cannibalistic pedophiles is running a global child sex-trafficking ring and plotting against former U.S. president Donald Trump.”

Recently, she tweeted saying how she and her “all time favorite POTUS Trump” had a phone call and claimed she had his support.

“You can never beat him because We The People have his back. The blood thirsty media and the socialists hate America Democrats are attacking me now just like they always attack President Trump. I won’t back down. I’ll never apologize. And I’ll always keep fighting for the people. For me, it’s America First!!! Any elected politician that isn’t putting America First doesn’t deserve their position or the people’s trust,” she wrote in a series of Tweets.

“I will never back down and will stand up against the never ending blood thirsty mob who has addicted their followers to hate, in order to everything I can to protect our freedoms,” she added.

“I’m so thankful to say the people have my back and I will always have theirs.”

Controversial Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene says she will soon meet with former President Donald Trump as Democrats try to drum up support to remove her from Congress.

Posted by Sky News Australia on Monday, 1 February 2021

Greene has supported social media posts calling for “political violence against the Speaker of the House, members of Congress, and former President Barack Obama,” California Congressman Jimmy Gomez stated.

She defended herself on the House floor saying the conspiracy theories she once supported and fought for were just part of her past and she no longer stood for any of it.

Recently, a video of Greene harassing David Hogg in 2018, then a 17-year-old survivor of the Parkland school shooting, emerged. “Why are you using kids as a barrier?” she kept asking him as he tried to ignore her while he was walking on Capitol Hill. You can see the video below.

Cancer-survivor teacher gets emotional after her students surprise her in the hallway of the school

Great teachers change lives, and this isn’t something we say it just like that. Many times, when kids need that little push in life which helps them find their calling, their teachers are there to provide it to them.

The good thing is that most of the students never forget what these special individuals did for them. Just like the young people from Ms. Watson’s class. As it turns out, this choir teacher is truly exceptional. Many of those who have ever attended her classes say they would be nowhere near where they are today if it had not been for her. She has always made sure she helped her students succeed and showed she cared.

However, Ms. Watson took seven months off after she was diagnosed with cancer. Being the fighter she is, this incredible woman is now cancer free and ready to get back to her job.

Wanting to show her how much they missed her and how much they love her, her students decided to surprise her with a lovely rendition of Amazing Grace. Needless to say, she was touched to the core and happy she helped shape these young people into caring people.

Three people die in murder-suicide after an argument over snow shoveling in Pennsylvania

15-year-old boy with autism was left orphaned after his mom and dad were shot dead by their neighbor who later ended his own life.

Plains Township Police Chief Dale Binker said the murder-suicide took place on Monday, February 1, around 9 a.m., following a dispute between the shooter, Jeffrey Spaide, and neighbors Lisa and James Goy, according to CNN.

It has been reported that Spaide had been shoveling the snow from his driveway and the Goys were doing the same in front of their own home across the road. Spaide then asked the couple to stop and the argument escalated quickly, after which Spaide entered his home, took a gun and injured Lisa and James firing multiple shots “at a close range.”

But he didn’t stop there. He entered his home again, pulled out an AR-style rifle, and executed the couple. Binker told CNN how this wasn’t the first time for the shooter and the Goys to argue over snow shoveling, although the matter had never been brought up to the police.

Upon arrival at the murder scene, police heard another shot coming from Spaide’s home. After murdering his neighbors, he killed himself.

Binker said that Spaide didn’t have problems with the law or the police in the past.

As for the son of the Goys, his grandparents will assume custody.

We are so very sorry these people’s lives were lost in vain. Rest in peace.

Meghan Markle claims Archie’s birth certificate “snub” was “dictated by The Palace”

Almost a year after The Duke and The Duchess of Sussex stepped down from their royal duties and headed to Canada and later to sunny California where they purchased a $14.65 million home in Santa Barbara, yet another move they made put them under the spotlight again. Well, it isn’t like they were ever out of it, as ever since their relationship went public, all eyes are on them.

The birth certificate of Meghan and Harry’s only son and seventh in line to the crown, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, went public and everyone noticed a change in the mother’s name was made a month after the baby was born. Namely, ‘Rachel Meghan,’ the first and the middle name of Markle were removed. Instead, only the more formal ‘Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex’ remained.

Many saw this as a ‘snub’ to Prince William and Kate Middleton, as Kate’s name is on her children’s birth certificates. However, the spokesperson of the Sussex Royals said that the claim of a potential “snub” would be “laughable were it not offensive,” adding: “The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials.

According to The Mirror, Meghan herself insisted the move was “dictated by the Palace.”

Meghan and Harry wanted to be financially independent and according to media, they have already signed multi-million contracts with Netflix and Spotify.

They also split from the non-profit organization they shared with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and set up their own foundation, Archewell, which focuses on conservation, female empowerment and gender equality.

Prince Harry is said to be stepping on British soil after almost a year for the celebration of his grandfather’s 100th birthday. He will also attend his grandma’s birthday and the unveiling of the statue that he and his brother commissioned in memory of their mother, Princess Diana, at Kensington Palace in July.

9 puppies and their mother abandoned at a church parking lot

A family of dogs was abandoned at the parking lot of the North Side Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas. The poor mother and her nine babies were scared and confused. The blue bin in which the little ones were placed was right beside them.

The sad sight caught the attention of a passerby who was kind enough to share a photo of the dogs on the social media asking for someone to step in and help.

The photo was soon re-shared by many. Among those who have seen it was Misty Boerger from Paw Angel Animal Rescue. She and the rest of the rescuers knew they had to do something for the family in need of help so they took the Boxer mommy and her bundles of joy at their shelter.

The two-week-old puppies wouldn’t leave their mommy’s side even while vets treated her open injuries and wounds. While still at the shelter, one of the puppies died, and Dory, the mother, and the rest of her puppies were taken to a foster family. Although they love it there because they get to spend their days by each others’ side, they will soon be put up for adoption.

Legally blind student graduates with top marks and receives a college scholarship

The following story is a reminder that if we want something badly, nothing can stand on our way of achieving it. It is a story of dedication and motivation at its best.

Jalen Ballard is a young man who is legally blind. He was born with a condition known as Bilateral Microphthalmia and was forced to undergo cataract surgeries when he was just a three-month-old baby, according to FOX 13 News. On top of that, he struggled with glaucoma all of his life. His condition, however, didn’t prevent him from graduating from high-school as the best in the generation. Jalen was named valedictorian and graduated with a GPA of 4.638.

Being the best of the best, hard-working Jalen received the Lighthouse Guild Scholarship and will be attending The University of Michigan where he will major in computer science.

Speaking of Jalen’s achievement, the school’s spokesperson said: “Students like Jalen and others, give us that daily, gentle reminder to think of others first.”

We wish Jalen only the best in the years to come and we are certain he will achieve even greater things in life. Way to go, young man.

Baby brothers in diapers abandoned among bags of trash – pastor welcomes them in and changes their lives

It was a day like any other for Mark Purcell, the executive chef at the Pasco Metropolitian Ministries, but nothing could prepare him of how his day would end. He was throwing the trash at the evening and was about to head home when he spotted quite an unusual sight.

Source: Neal Jennings/Flickr

Two tiny heads could be seen among the trash, and Purcell was sure someone threw dolls between the begs, but he still decided to get closer. To his surprise, what he believed were dolls were actually two babies wearing only diapers.

Source: FOX 13 News – Tampa Bay/YouTube

It was cold outside and Purcell was aware the children wouldn’t survive if he hadn’t found them. He rushed to take them and check whether they were fine. But then, he noticed the baby’s mother just around the corner, crying. She was homeless and she obviously couldn’t take care of the boys any longer. The little one was just six months old, and the older one was a toddler of around two years.

The mother said how living in a tent wasn’t much of a life for her babies so she thought if she left them there near the church someone would step in and provide them with a better life than she herself was able to give them.

Purcell wasn’t sure what to do next, so he called one of the church’s pastors, Krystal Stewart, who agreed to take the babies for the night.

Source: FOX 13 News – Tampa Bay/YouTube

Steward knew the babies from before as she has seen them and their mother at the church’s soup kitchen at several occasions. She even recalled offering the mother to give them a bath in her house.

The poor babies were in a very bad condition. Filthy and all covered in bugs, they needed a bath and some warm clothes.

A couple of days later, the Stewards and the children’s mother spoke and she asked them if they could take care of the kids while she took the time to find a job and a place to stay. The social worker who was there as well explained that in case Krystal and her husband didn’t take the boys in, they would enter into the foster system.

“This was not talked about, but we just looked at each other, and we knew there was no other option. Of course we said yes,” Krystal said.

Source: FOX 13 News – Tampa Bay/YouTube

As time passed by, the babies got used to their new life and were happy and thriving. The Stewards already had three children on their own so you can imagine the poops, the laughs and the fun under this family’s roof. They knew those kids belonged by their side so they started the adoption process.

This inspiring story has been shared on YouTube and has been seen by more than 1.5 million people who praised the Stewards for stepping in.

Naomi Biden, granddaughter of President Joe Biden, is good friends with Tiffany Trump

When Joe Biden was sworn in as 46th President of The United States, his children and grandchildren were there by his side.

President Biden is a father of four. Sadly, his daughter Naomi Christina “Amy” Biden and his first wife Neilia lost their lives in a car accident when Naomy was only 13 months old. They were going shopping for Christmas when a tractor-trailer slammed in their car. The boys, Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III and Robert Hunter Biden, were also in the car. They sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital, and thankfully, recovered completely.

Then, in 2015, Beau lost his battle to cancer.

In 1977, President Biden married his current wife, first lady Jill Biden. They have a daughter together.

President Biden’s five grandchildren describe him as a devoted granddad who calls them almost every day and reminds them just how much they all mean to him. Speaking of her “pop,” granddaughter Maisy told Today: “That’s something that I feel like some people don’t believe when we say that he literally calls, not just, like, one of us every few days. He calls me, then calls Naomi, then he calls Finn, then he calls Natalie, then he calls Ashley, and then he calls little Hunter.”

Naomi Biden, the oldest of the President’s grandchildren, has been involved in her grandpa’s campaign and says how he always had the support from everyone in the family. Naomi, who is currently living in Washington, near her grandparents, and is working for the law firm Arnold & Porter, according to Wahintonian, is a good friend of former President Trump’s daughter Tiffany. Well, it looks like the hostility between the former and the current POTUS is no obstacle for these two young and beautiful ladies to get along.

Instagram/NaomiBiden

In fact, both Naomi and Tiffany studied at the University of Pennsylvania and both Biden and Trump were in attendance at the girl’s graduation ceremony.

“This is about a dad and a grandfather here to see their daughter and granddaughter graduate,” one father attending the ceremony told Inquirer. “Of course, they come here with a big security posse. But it’s still about a dad and a grandfather.”

According to Guest of a Guest, the girls were partying at the Hamptons together back in 2018 and Tiffany shared a photo of them on her Insta story, along with a double pink and purple heart.

We so glad that both Tiffany and Naomi are successful in their own way.

This boy’s reaction to hearing he’s going to be a big brother is beyond cute

The family growing and welcoming new members is always great news. Well, if there is already someone young who refuses to share things such as clothes and toys, the news of another baby coming in could be a huge deal, and this is normal.

When someone is the only child, they are used to getting all the love and all the attention not only from their parents but the rest of the relatives as well, and just the thought of having someone else who would “steal” all that can be devastating when someone is still pretty young.

YouTube

However, the mommy from the video below doesn’t have these sorts of problems because her five year old son is over the moon when he gets the news that he’s being promoted to a big brother.

I guess no one can really assume what the reaction would be in these kinds of situations, but this mother is lucky to have her son being all smiles for the new bundle of joy. He keeps asking if the baby really is in his mom’s tummy and melts each time he hears a yes.

We are 100% positive that Ethan would make the best big brother there is. Congrats to the family!

3-year-old girl wins over judges with adorable ice skating routine

Every child is a different kind of flower and blooms at different period of their life. For example, some start speaking and walking even before they turn one, and others do it at the age of 2 or even 3. But that’s okay, because just like grownups, kids are unlike, and possess different talents.

Brynn Cartagena was only three years old when she won her first medal at an ice skating competition. Her performance was pretty much flawless. What’s most impressive and most interesting of all is that she only spent overall eight weeks on ice skates before she took part in the Magnolia Open Ice Skating Competition

Source: YouTube

At first, she appeared a bit nervous, but once she took the floor, she showed her greatness and skated with confidence.

Brynn is all smiles and is so devoted to her routine that she makes us all fall in love with her and her passion.

And yes, why we love her skating even more is the song she chose to perform on. Having in mind she’s just three on the video, it doesn’t come as a surprise she opted for one of children’s most favorite, The Muffin Man.

With all her spins and all her cuteness, Brynn won our hearts, and she definitely deserved winning her first medal. Take a look at this cute little lady in the video below. Isn’t she a skater in the making?

Humpback whale goes out of its way to shield research diver from shark attack

Whales are considered one of the most gentle creatures. Not only they are huge and magnificent, but they are very friendly too. That is why the strange behavior of a humpback whale left the 63-year-old biologist Nan Hauser and her crew puzzled.

As they were snorkeling near the Cook Islands in the South Pacific, the 50,000-pound creature approached the boat and left everyone mesmerized. Being so close to such a beauty wasn’t something these lovers of the nature experience that often. They were all eager to make some close-up photos of the whale’s textured skin. But then, all of a sudden, the creature started acting a bit strange. At first it resembled a violent behavior, or maybe what this gentle giant wanted was to play, unaware of how its strength could hurt Hauser.

Photo: Facebook/Nan Daeschler Hauser

What the whale did next was scary. It started pushing the woman through the water, lifted her up on its head, and then constantly tucked her under his pectoral fin. Hauser tried really hard to get away, but to no avail. She pushed it as hard as she could wanting to prevent it from hurting her, but she was simply powerless.

Photo: YouTube/Caters Clips

“I stayed calm to a point but was sure that it was most likely going to be a deadly encounter,” Hauser said. “I tried to get away from him for fear that if he rammed me too hard, or hit me with his flippers or tail, that would break my bones and rupture my organs. If he held me under his pectoral fin, I would have drowned.”

Photo: Facebook/Nan Daeschler Hauser

Everyone who witnessed this encounter was petrified. The team even stopped the drone footage fearing they could accidentally film Hauser’s death.

“I didn’t want to panic, because I knew that he would pick up on my fear,” Hauser added. “I feel a very close kinship with animals, so despite my trepidation, I tried to stay calm and figure out how to get away from him.”

But, it turned out things weren’t as they seemed. The reason behind this atypical behavior was a 15-foot-long tiger shark the whale tried to save Hauser from. First, the team though the creature was another whale, but later, when they noticed it was a shark they became aware of what was really going on.

Another whale that found itself close by slapped the water with its huge tail wanting to divert the shark from the human.

Photo: Facebook/Nan Daeschler Hauser

“I’ve spent 28 years underwater with whales, and have never had a whale so tactile and so insistent on putting me on his head, or belly, or back, or, most of all, trying to tuck me under his huge pectoral fin,” said Hauser.

She also says how she can’t be more grateful for what the whale did for her, although she admits she was scared during the whole time. Once she found her way to the boat, the whale who saved her life poked itself out of the water again just to make sure she was alright.

Hauser who spent her whole life working with whales says how she has seen this type of protective behavior at whales for those of their own kind or other creatures, but this is the first time she witnessed one to step in for a human being.

You can take a look at the chilling encounter in the video below.

Andy Griffith recalls last words in phone call with George Lindsey who played the legendary role of Goober Pyle

No matter how much time passes by, the cast of the iconic TV show The Andy Griffith Show will always remain nothing less than legendary and will be remembered as a crew that left a deep mark on Hollywood.

After the show ended in 1968, large audiences expected from emerging shows to keep the same quality, but at the time, getting even closer to what The Andy Griffith Show provided to the fans was quite impossible.

Among the actors who practically made history, was George Lindsay, who appeared in season four and played good-natured but slow-learner Goober Pyle.

Playing alongside Andy Griffith and Don Knotts, Lindsay fit in the show just perfectly. Over the years, he spoke of his role and how he and the rest of the actors remained good friends after the show was over. He was particularly close to Griffith.

Lindsay was born on December 17, 1928 in Fairfield, Alabama. In high school, he fell in love with acting and excelled in sports, which helped him get a scholarship and finish his studies later.

While studying at the American Theater Wing in New York, Lindsay had comedy gigs at nightclubs. During one of his performances, he was spotted by an agent who signed him, so Lindsay became part of the production All American and Wonderful Town at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre.

Before getting the life-changing role of Goober Pyle, Lindsay appeared in western movies including The Riflemen and Gunsmoke, as well as in several Disney productions and in three episodes of The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.

Lindsay loved the role and the show. After it ended, he was part of the spin-off series Mayberry R.F.D for three years.

Speaking of working on set with Griffith, he told Huffington Post in 2010, “He was a great leader and the best script constructionist that I’ve ever worked with. And he was easy to work with. If you knew your lines, that’s all you needed… and I worked with another guy that was brilliant and that’s Don Knotts. They were terrific professional actors, and I was honored to be in their company.”

His fellow acting friends felt the same for Lindsay. “George often told me his fondest memories of his life in show business were the years he spent working on ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ and ‘Mayberry R.F.D.’ They were for me, too,” Andy Griffith said in a statement following Lindsey’s passing.

In the years following The Andy Griffith Show, Lindsay landed different roles in different movies, series, and projects, but he somehow believed he wasn’t hired for himself, but for Goober. “It was a nightmare,” Lindsey said according to AI. “Almost everywhere I worked, I insisted they hire me as George Lindsey, but what they really hired was for me to do Goober, even on ‘Hee Haw.’”

In 1955, Lindsay married Joyanne Herbert and they had two children together, George Lindsey, Jr and Camden Lindsey. Although he always said she was the love of his life, the couple divorced in 1991.

Lindsay was knows as a person with a heart of gold who cared for the well-being of other people. He was a supporter of the Special Olympics and helped raise $1 million for it. During the 90’s, this caring man visited patients as hospitals as Goober because he knew it would make them happy. “Maybe it takes a long time for me to catch on,” he said according to AI. “I finally caught on that Goober is a very nice person, and it’s OK to be him.”

Lindsay passed away in 2012, at the age of 83, of heart failure. He was buried in his hometown of Nashville where he spent most of his life.

Andy Griffith was there to honor his lifelong friend and said through an obituary, “George Lindsey was my friend. I had great respect for his talent and his human spirit. In recent years, we spoke often by telephone. Our last conversation was a few days ago. We would talk about our health, how much we missed our friends who passed before us and usually about something funny. “I am happy to say that as we found ourselves in our eighties, we were not afraid to say, ‘I love you.’ That was the last thing George and I had to say to each other. ‘I love you.’”

Lindsay truly was a very special actor and a person who made many laugh. There will never be another Goober Pyle!

The University of North Alabama awarded Lindsay an honorary doctorate and the state of Alabama have named a section of Birmingham’s Highway 78 as the “George Lindsey Highway.” Amazing tribute to even more amazing man.

Two cute twin boys go right to bed when their mom tells them to

Unless you are a parent or you have babysat, you don’t have any idea how hard and demanding it is to put your kids to bed when they are still full of energy and sleeping is the least thing on their mind.

Well, it seems like there are also parents whose kids don’t fight and argue when it’s a bed time.

Kristine is a mom of two incredibly cute twin boys named Chris and Zac. Believe it or not, these two are so well-behaved that their mom only needs to tell them to go to bed once in order for them to actually do it.

Source: YouTube Screenshot

In the video below, that Kristine took for her family, the twins could be seen siting in the hallway and wearing their pajamas. They also have their sippy cups with them. In one moment, Kristine says, “Go to bed! Go to bed, hurry!” and the boys run towards their room, climb on their cribs, and hop in.

When she shared the video on her YouTube channel, Kristine wrote: “I took this video for family who lives far away, so they could see how the kids were growing and becoming pretty athletic at a young age. We never taught them to do this. One day I told the Zac & Chris, identical twin brothers, to go to bed and they did it! They just ran to bed and hopped in! I was shocked, and now they do it on a regular basis. This is their favorite part of the day, when they get to parkour themselves into their beds together and see who makes it in first.”

Once they are all settled, Chris and Zac say “night night!”

Although comments are turned off, there were probably people who were a bit worried about the climbing part and the tents, or maybe Kristine just wanted to clarify things herself, so she wrote: “The crib tents are to keep them safe if they wake up while we are sleeping, because they tend to silently climb out and try to go in places that could be dangerous for them, and they help to keep bugs out of the cribs, just in case. They are also fire retardant, just in case anyone was worried :). and yes…we brush their teeth after they fall asleep–a fabulous recommendation by our dentist!”

Fellow veterans help 94-year-old veteran move back in the house he built with his late wife

When a World War II veteran named Alfred Guerra found himself without a roof over his head because the home he used to share with his late wife, Emma, became a dangerous place to be in, the whole community stepped in and that showed just how much these people who fought for our country are appreciated by everyone.

Because of the extremely poor living conditions in the house, Guerra was forced to move in with his daughter Maria. According to her, he didn’t want to live his home because of all the memories it evoked.

Knowing just how much his house meant to her father, Maria decided to ask for help from the community, and in a matter of days, a huge number of people and organizations stepped in. Among them were the members of the local Military Order of the Purple Heart who were happy to help a veteran who was awarded a Purple Heart as well as a Bronze Star for the bravery he showed.

The Broken Warriors’ Angels, a non-profit organization, the VFW Post 76, the city’s Department of Human Services, and the Department of Military Affairs also joined in the project of reparing Guerra’s home.

Fred Alvarado, the CEO of Broken Warriors Angels, told KSAT-News: “It’s veterans helping veterans. That’s all there is to it.”

Besides these organizations, companies like SRS Raise the Roof Foundation also stepped in.

Because of the pandemic, the repair process took a bit longer than expected, but everyone assumes it won’t take more than a month before Guerra is able to get back to his home again and take care of his garden and his roses.

“It’s a wonderful thing. It’s a mission of mercy,” Maria said and thankned everyone involved in the process, including all the veterans who served in Iraq, Vietnam, and Afghanistan.

Little girl is “dancing like nobody’s watching” after her mom tells her not to run at the store

Little children throwing tantrums in public is a sight that we witness too often nowadays. I guess that when we were kids ourselves, we were more obedient and somewhat more afraid of our parents than children are nowadays. The reason why is that most parents spoil their little ones rotten and fulfill their every wish, so the youngsters are simply used to getting things whenever they want that.

Some children, however, don’t cry and scream when they want things to be done their way, but find ways of playing around with their moms and dads. Well, just like this cutie pie in the video below.

Zoe and her mom are at the store when she starts running. Her mom then shouts, “No running, no running,” and it takes around 30 seconds for Zoe to come up with a strategy. So, instead of running, she decides to dance as she walks.

The video of Zoe has been seen over 6 million times and people say things like: “What a great listener! No tantrums or running faster…she walked while dancing and looked like she was just happy.”

This little girl thought out of the box and showed incredible intelligence. And yes, she made us all laugh.

Chef Millie Peartree was forced to shut her restaurant down, but she now feeds thousands of children

This Chinese proverb says, “When the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills.” In life, we should all do our best to be those who embrace the change and try to make the best out of it, no matter how scary it looks at first.

One renowned chef is an example that we should never give up on our dreams, even during this pandemic that changed our lives completely.

Chef Millie Peartree had been running her own restaurant in Bronx until 2019, but someone messed with her gas lines and she was forced to close the place indefinitely.

Having to find a way out, she turned to the catering business, but then the pandemic struck and she was once again left jobless. However, Chef Millie was then contacted by the InStyle magazine and was offered to prepare meals for USPS workers and hospital staff on behalf of the magazine. She was more than happy to accept this offer, and soon after, she prepared 6,000 meals.

Once this project was over, this incredible woman decided to go on with it, but his time, her focus was on the children of Bronx.

Speaking to Today, she said: “I would pivot my efforts toward feeding children because I knew that some of the city’s food distribution programs had been canceled or reduced due to the pandemic. I created Full Heart Full Bellies to provide prepared meals for children in grades K through 12, from July 6 to Aug. 28, in the Bronx, which is the poorest of the five boroughs.”

Each week, Chef Millie’s organization prepares 1,800 nutritionally balanced meals. She’s doing all this with the help of huge companies such as Audi, Coca-Cola, Amazon, Barilla, and local business and non-profit organizations. Through the GoFundMe she started, Chef Millie was able to raise over $60,000.

Her project is still ongoing and she’s urging others to help feed the hungry and vulnerable as well because that’s the only way to cope with the pandemic. “When we talk about social justice, we often get hung up on the hashtag instead of the actual work. You may not march, but maybe you can feed a protester. After the money is donated, what can we do in the community to change things?” she says.

Take a look at her interview with CBS New York below.

Health workers stuck in a snowstorm administer COVID-19 vaccines to other drivers so they won’t go to waste

Absolutely every single person on the planet has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic one way or another. But we all have to agree that those on the front line, the doctors and the nurses, are the backbone of the health systems and are in most risk of contracting the deadly virus. Yet, they are on the job every single day and work long hours and often times double shifts in order to provide help to each and every patient out there.

The staff and the volunteers at Josephine County Public Health are just some of the workers who risk it all for the safety of us all. A few days back, a group of them headed from Illinois Valley High School, around 160 miles south of Eugene, a city in Oregon, to another clinic in Grants Pass to administer vaccines.

However, the weather was pretty bad and it was snowing heavily, so they found themselves stranded on the Highway 199.

The vaccines could only be kept for a couple of hours before they could no longer be used. Not wanting for the six leftover Moderna doses to expire, Michael Weber, Josephine County’s public health director, told The Washington Post: “We knew the vaccine would not make it back to Grants Pass. In all likelihood, it was going to expire. I decided to start going door-to-door, car-to-car, offering the vaccine.”

There was also an ambulance on standby for safety.

In no time, the health workers found six people who were more than happy to finally get the vaccine. Speaking to The New York Times, Weber said:  “We had one individual who was so happy, he took his shirt off and jumped out of the car,” and described this operation as one of the coolest he has ever taken part in.

Christi Siedlecki, one of the twenty health workers spoke to NBC News and said she felt proud seeing her team did all they could in order for the vaccines not to be wasted. “It is important for people to know how dedicated health professionals are to getting every single dose into people. My community should be so proud. I am,” she said.

We are very proud of these people who are taking care of our well-being as well. If it wasn’t for their dedication and hard work, the situation with the pandemic could be much worse than it is already. Doctors and nurses from all around the world, you are our heroes.

Everyone on the planet should see this one minute animal video

Nothing speaks love and compassion louder than unlike animal friendships that light our days like sunshine rays on cloudy days.

The most watched ad of all time featuring different species sharing happy moments together reminds us of the beauties of life. We don’t have to be same in order to respect each other.

The Android ad spreads the message that says, “Be Together, Not The Same” through series of images between animals of different kinds that found friends in one another. So if you’ve never seen a dog and a dolphin swimming together, or a bear and tiger nuzzling then this is your chance.

We have to agree that Android did awesome job with their ad and really stood out. They showed us the core of our existence and inspired us to share love with everyone around us putting aside the differences in our religious beliefs, our skin color, or our social status.

“Friends Furever” will make your day as it did to the millions of people who got to see it.

This is definitely a must see. Get ready for your hearts to be melted.

In one occasion, during an interview with ET in 1982, she said: “I adore comedy. I like to do it over and over again until I just get sick of it. If something is funny, oh do it again. Part of it is common experience. I have experienced everything that any woman could have experienced. There is nothing you can name that I have not experienced, that I can think of.”

Leachman received a number of awards during the years, including an Academy Award for best-supporting actress in 1971 and eight Emmys.

Green wrote: “It’s been my privilege to work with Cloris Leachman, one of the most fearless actresses of our time. There was no one like Cloris. With a single look she had the ability to break your heart or make you laugh ’till the tears ran down your face. You never knew what Cloris was going to say or do and that unpredictable quality was part of her unparalleled magic.”

“She loved her children and her grandchildren ferociously,” the statement went on to say. “A lifelong vegetarian, she was a passionate advocate for animal rights. The family requests that any donations in her name be made to PETA or Last Chance for Animals.”
