Mom Adopts Orphan But Detail In Stranger’s Picture Changes Their Lives Forever

When Angie and her husband decided to adopt a little boy from China, they were ecstatic. The idea of adding another smiling face to their family was more than exciting. Mav had been living in an orphanage for most of his short life, but the moment they laid eyes on the sweet boy they knew that he was the perfect fit for their family.

But as Angie looked at the adoption photos of her new child, there was one detail that she just couldn’t ignore. She had to get to the bottom of this.

YouTube

In every photo of Mav was another little boy, and she soon learned that this child had been Mav’s “brother” in the orphanage. Although Mav didn’t have a family to call his own, Josh had been the only constant in his short life while he anxiously waited to be adopted.

From all accounts, the pair was inseparable. They spent hours together every day eating, playing, helping each other with daily tasks and exploring the great outdoors (when they were given the chance)!

Desperate to locate the other little boy, Angie posted the photo to a Facebook group devoted to Chinese orphans, never expecting to find exactly what she was looking for. But fate had other plans for the boys.

YouTube

The very same day, Josh’s adoptive father had posted to the same page. Miraculously, the families instantly connected. Sadly, they soon realized that they lived 1300 miles apart, making a reunion nearly impossible.

It wasn’t until Josh’s father received a call from his company months later that everything changed. They were relocating to the very same state as Mav! When Angie broke the news to Mav, a giant smile spread across his face – he couldn’t wait.

The thought of having Josh so close was a dream come true!

YouTube

When it finally came time for Mav and Josh to be reunited, Angie couldn’t keep her tears in any longer. She watched as her son ran up to his old friend, hugged him tightly and began to chat like no time had passed at all.

Clearly, the two shared a brotherly bond that went far beyond blood!

What cameras captured next will leave you in tears. They went right back into the swing of things, and now they get to play together all the time.

Boy Learns He’ll Be A Big Brother On The Same Day He Gets Adopted

Cole and Jordan Dickerson had no doubt they were meant to be parents. Raising a family was something they daydreamed about – and adoption was always part of the plan. So when Jordan heard of a little boy who desperately needed a caring family, she begged Cole for the chance to bring him into their home.

To Jordan’s dismay, the universe had other plans for the Dickerson family. But when the day came that they were finally able to bring their son home, fate had one more surprise up its sleeve.

Facebook/Jordan Smith Dickerson

In an emotional post on the Love What Matters page, Cole shared their family’s inspirational story, how they came to adopt their son Jeremiah, and how they found out they were expecting another child.

Cole wrote:

“My wife Jordan works at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. One day she told me there is the cutest little boy there right now. She said he’s only there because he doesn’t have a family to take care of him. It was only a couple of weeks later when I got a text while I was at work that said, ‘Babe, will you seriously pray and think about something?!’ Immediately my heart pounds because I knew this must be something serious on her heart.

We both had talked about how passionate we were about adopting and desired to do it one day. We talked, prayed, and decided to begin the foster parent classes that were required by the organization he was involved with. We talked with DCS and it seemed nearly impossible to begin the foster-to-adopt process for a specific child that you’re not yet related to. It would have to take a miracle… the rest of the story is nothing short of just that.

During the process, another couple came and began fostering him which totally hit us hard emotionally because we had made a connection with him already. We were disappointed and upset but decided to continue the classes to be future foster parents and true parents to a child someday…”

Facebook/Dani Brewer Photography

“Two weeks later, while we were on our 1-year anniversary trip, someone from Jordan’s work called and told her Jeremiah had been brought back to the hospital for medical reasons and the couple was not going to be able to continue caring for him for their own reasons. We immediately busted out in tears and knew this was the work of God that we would one day be a family.

When we got back from our trip, his social worker wanted to meet Jordan at Le Bonheur to make sure we were serious about fostering to adopt. After going through legal, medical and fostering classes, we were finally able to bring our boy home in June 2017.

And on July 16, 2018, we officially were able to adopt our son!

Back up to April 2018, Jeremiah was praying one night. He said, ‘Thank you God for God, for Jesus, for my Mommy and Daddy, and my baby sister in a couple of weeks, Amen.’ We looked at each other like, ‘What did he just say?! Not really how it works, bud.’

Just a couple of weeks later is when we surprisingly found out Jeremiah was going to be having a baby brother or sister! Fast forward to today, HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE BABY SISTER! We just found out yesterday!

The Miracle Worker continues to do work, and we’re so thankful to be a family.”

On the same day Jeremiah found out he was officially adopted, Jordan and Cole revealed he was going to be a big brother. Jeremiah was spot-on about God giving them a baby girl – and now their family gets to grow by one more happy heart!

Ride Home With Disabled Son Turns Into Mom’s ‘Worst Nightmare’

Navigating public areas isn’t always the easiest for those with physical challenges. Even though the Americans With Disabilities Act requires public places to be handicap accessible, hurdles can crop up.

Mom Monica Ward Scharrer has experienced the difficulties of traveling with her son’s heavy wheelchair. She and her son Chris love getting out and about, especially watching their favorite sports teams play, but it’s nervewracking when things don’t go as planned.

Facebook/Monica Ward Scharrer

Monica and Chris were thrilled to be able to watch a New York Rangers game, especially considering how much they love hockey. They rode the train in to town without a hitch, excited to watch the team take the ice.

They found their seats, settled in and had a great time. But it was the ride home that proved difficult for the pair – with Monica saying:

“Our worst nightmare occurred…”

Flickr/johrling

When they left the game, they discovered the elevator that would take them from street level down to the Penn Station platform wasn’t working. Chris’ wheelchair weighs 350 pounds, so they desperately needed an elevator.

Monica fretted about how to get her son down to the subway and in time to catch the train home. That’s when she came across her guardian angel…

Officer Mears just so happened to be walking around the area – and was happy to lend a helping hand. It was dark out and the area was beginning to bustle with fans heading home.

Monica described the officer as a “beautiful human being.” He escorted Monica and Chris all around until they found a working elevator.

Then Officer Mears personally led the pair to the Long Island Rail Road, inquired what track they would be on and walked with them to their train platform. He even set up the ramp for Monica, giving her a delightful break.

Facebook/Love What Matters

Chris was able to board the train before the pressing throng of passengers descended upon the platform. Monica profusely thanked Officer Mears who then confessed something quite sweet to her.

“(He) told me he worked with the disabled for six years before he became a police officer and that is where his heart is. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this officer was to my son and I. He essentially moved a mountain for us! I love this man and what he represents of humanity.”

Shortly after Monica decided to post her story on the Love What Matters Facebook page, which has been shared more than 1,300 times.

What a blessing Officer Mears was to this mom and her son in their time of need! Sometimes it’s the little acts of kindness that mean the most – and there certainly are a lot of officers making a difference in this world.

Monster Who Made Couples Have Sex At Gunpoint Before Locking

  • Rasheed Powell, 43, forced way into rooms and watched partners have sex
  • He locked men up and raped women, making them loudly compliment him
  • He was handed a 148-year sentence but legal reps asked for 80 years instead
  • Trial went on for eight weeks and jury took three-and-a-half days to deliberate
  • Father-of-two was in court as four of eight victims delivered powerful messages
  • One victim said she hoped he never saw daylight again as she spoke in court
  • Powell maintains innocence despite evidence including DNA rape kit, gun he threatened victims with and the mask and jacket he wore that girlfriend provided
  • The robber got into crime as a teenager and has spent 14 years in prison already
Rasheed Powell, 43, was sentenced to 148 after forcing couples to have sex at gunpoint before raping the women

A father-of-two has been sentenced to 148 years in prison for forcing couples to have sex at gunpoint in New Jersey motels, before locking the men in bathrooms and raping the women.

Rasheed Powell, of Elizabeth, was convicted in March for 60 counts that include aggravated robbery and sexual assault.

The crimes took place in the towns of Elizabeth and Linden in New Jersey over the course of two months in 2012, and there were eight victims – four men and four women – in total.

On four occasions, Powell, 43, stalked his victims before forcing his way into their motel rooms, making the couples perform sex acts in front of him, then locking up the men in the bathroom and raping the women.

Springfield Municipal Court heard how Powell would make his victims ‘loudly compliment’ him so their locked-up partners would hear.

He was caught when responding to a traffic summons in court April 2012. When arrested his bail was set at $3million.

It took two hours for Powell to be read his fate in court when he was sentenced August 16.

A jury deliberated over three-and-a-half days at the end of the eight-week trial. The Union County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit tried for 200 years but he was given 148.

His sentencing was based on 24 counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, and eight counts of robbery which is a first degree crime.

In addition, Powell was charged with 12 counts of sexual assault, 12 weapons offenses, and four counts of burglary, which is a second degree crime.

One victim says she’s ‘afraid of people and what they’re doing’ after the traumatizing incident at the Swan Motel in Linden (picture above)

Powell’s attorney Erin Cook asked he only be punished per couple, not per individual, so that he would only get 80 years.

He has already spent a total of 14 years in prison and has been in trouble with the law since he was 14 years old.

Superior Court Judge, Robert Kirsch, was having none of it though, calling Powell a ‘serial rapist’ and mentioning the extensive evidence they had against him.

As well as his ex-girlfriend handing in the mask he used to disguise his identity as well as his jacket and gun, rape kits were used to match his DNA.

‘Your reign of terror ends here, now,’ the judge added.

It didn’t stop Powell from claiming he didn’t get a fair trial, however. mycentralnewjersey.com reports he said: ‘In due time proof will come out. I’m innocent.’

Four of his victims were present in court, two men and two women, who shared the stories of how the horror affected their lives.

Attendees at Springfield Municipal Court (pictured) heard how Powell would make his victims ‘loudly compliment’ him so their locked up partners would hear

A woman assaulted at a Route 1&9 motel said: ‘I hope you don’t have the option to see daylight again.’

Powell’s victim faced him to call him a ‘monster’ and told those in attendance ‘I’m afraid of people and what they are doing. I focus on work, family and I go straight home.’ She was attacked at the Swan Motel in Linden.

The Benedict Motel in Linden, now called the Bentley, was also the setting for one of his horrific crimes.

In Elizabeth, his victims were at the Spring Lane Motel and the Royal Motel.

Another woman, who was raped on Easter Sunday in 2012 and asked for him to get life in prison, told the packed court how she has since suffered from panic attacks and had nightmares.

Additionally she has self-mutilated and had suicidal thoughts after Powell threatened to kill her if she told anyone.

War veteran goes to buy 2 items at grocery store. Suddenly a stranger in line starts filling up his cart

If everybody was nice to each other, the world would be a much better place. Holding a door for somebody, giving money to charity, even just smiling at somebody who looks down can be great ways to help somebody out.

If humans were nice to each other, the world would be a much better place. Give up your place for an elderly or a pregnant woman while in the bus, giving money to someone in need, even smiling to someone who looks down while walking by can make this person’s day better.

And this is exactly what FOX5 Surprise Squad does, the difference is that these good people can do a lot for someone in need or who deserves it after a long struggle. Spreading kindness and good gestures around the country to inspire the world to do the same is what FOX5 Surprise Squad aims for. So the team decided again to make someone’s life better and headed to a busy grocery store in Las Vegas.

They approached some of the shoppers in the check-out line, but the team never expected they’d meet two inspiring local veterans. First, reporter Dave Hall met with Stephanie, a disabled veteran who was bound to a wheelchair.

Stephanie has dogs who love so much. This woman barely have enough money to feed herself and her dogs. Actually, she was spending from her last $50 that day. So Dave and his team happily paid for her grocery shopping. Then they noticed the man who had accompanied her to the store that day.

Larry is Stephanie’s husband, he was also a fellow club member and truck driver who was most of the time hitting the road. Larry was also a struggling veteran who gave a lot of his time to drive Stephanie wherever she needed to go. “No vet should be going through what she’s going through,” he told Dave and his team.

Unfortunately, Some of Larry’s brothers died in the Vietnam War. That’s what inspired him to create a charity called Bones for Blankets which donates blankets to homeless veterans.

Larry always put people in more need first. That’s why he was very low on cash. The only items he bought that day at the supermarket were a piece of candy and some mouthwash. Once Dave and the Surprise Squad heard Larry’s story, they decided that this wouldn’t do. They immediately took Larry back down the aisles of the supermarket to make sure he gets what he needs.

Watch what the Surprise Squad has in store for Larry in the video below:

In 1977, nurse saved badly burned baby. 38 years later, she sees her old photo on Facebook and freezes

When Amanda Scarpinati was 3 months old, she rolled off the sofa and fall onto a steam vaporizer. The outcome was a scolded and burned skin. As she grew up, she had to undergo several reconstructive surgeries.

She was taken to the Albany Medical Center where she was taken care of by Sue Berger, a special nurse. Berger took the bandaged girl into her arms and gave her some comfort while she was experiencing pain. That was back in 1977.

After Scarpinati’s discharge, all she was left with were the photos she had taken with Berger while in her arms. Scarpinati was determined to find the carrying nurse and thank her for her unconditional compassion.

While growing up, bullies took advantage of her burn and tormented her. That is why the sincere gesture of the caring woman mattered a lot to her. Scarpinati went ahead and posted a note about it on Facebook. It did not take long before the nurse was identified.

In the clip below, we see Scarpinati and Berger reunite at the place where they had first met and it is a special moment to watch. You can’t miss watching to see how the two express their feeling towards each other.

Lisa Marie Presley Opens Up About Her Father’s Incredible Legacy

Lisa Marie Presley is no stranger to the spotlight. As the King of Rock N’ Roll’s daughter, every childhood memory was larger than life and every flash of the paparazzi’s camera is stuck in her mind. After a recent struggle with drug addiction, Lisa Marie was finally ready to speak out about her struggles, getting clean, her father’s legacy and her upcoming album with Today’s Jenna Bush Hager.

Jenna had no idea the interview would get so personal so fast.

YouTube

Instead of shying away from the problem that plagued both herself and her father, Lisa Marie spoke directly about the issue with Today’s Jenna Bush Hager:

“I’m not perfect, my father wasn’t perfect, no one’s perfect. It’s what you do with it after you learn and then you try to help others with it”

Thankfully, Lisa Marie’s children, Riley, Benjamin, Finley and Harper, helped her see the light. On the hard days, she turned to music as a place of solace – just as her father had done when things got tough in his own life. Lisa Marie even released a new compilation album of Elvis’ gospel recordings she co-produced called “Where No One Stands Alone.”

It was a way to keep her father close while he’s up in Heaven.

YouTube

But when the music just won’t fade her worries away, she admitted to Jenna reaches out to Elvis in Heaven. It’s something she’s done for years now and his unspoken wisdom guides her.

“‘I think I already said, ‘Help me, God help me…’ I would want to know he’s there. Yeah, It would be pretty much, ‘I could use your help right around now.'”

He may not be around anymore, but Lisa Marie knows he’s there with her in spirit. There’s nothing that can separate a father from protecting his little girl – not even death.

YouTube

As for her father’s legacy? She said the gospel album is the perfect embodiment of who he was as a person. Lisa Marie told Jenna:

“He just loved it. He would break out into Gospel music whenever and wherever he was, at any time. It’s what moved him.”

Now she hopes her father’s songs can help bring other people peace the same way his spirit guided her during her time of need. We’re so impressed with Lisa Marie for picking herself back up and reaching out when she needed help!

Baby Demonstrates CPR On Dummy

As adults it’s easy to sometimes forget that kids pick up on everything that we do. Sometimes catching us off guard with just how observant they are of our actions and behavior. It can sometimes even get us into trouble! So when mom attended a CPR class with her baby girl she wasn’t expecting the baby to pick up on everything from the lesson that day. But what mom soon witnessed after class made her mouth drop.

YouTube

Unbeknownst to mom her baby girl was paying extra close attention to the class that day. So after class when the baby saw a CPR dummy lying on the ground she didn’t hesitate to show off her new skills. As mom watched in awe she could hardly believe what she was witnessing. The baby crawls over to the dummy and begins to give it chest compressions as she babbles to the dummy, possibly checking in to see how the dummy is doing. But it gets even better.

YouTube

After some chest compressions baby girl begins giving the dummy mouth-to-mouth. It may seem shocking but it’s true! She alternates between chest compressions and mouth-to-mouth leaving mom in complete awe of her little lifesaver in the making. Barely even able to walk, the family can certainly expect great things from their little girl in the future. It truly is remarkable how quickly children can learn things and implement them on their own. Watch the baby demonstrate her CPR skills in the video below. What a doll!

This is what you get when you marry a girl from Texas

Finding the right woman isn’t easy. And honestly, nowadays, wives don’t get ‘orders’ from their husbands, which is totally fine as partners should equally be responsible for all those tasks that come with keeping the house clean.

But what happens when when you ask your wife to do the dishes and the house cleaning? Three friends who married girls from different parts of the world did that and we can’t stop laughing because of one of the woman’s reactions. I guess that is what you get when marrying a Texas girl. This is hilarious!

Three friends married women from different parts of the world.
The first man married a Greek girl. He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away.

The second man married a Thai. He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn’t see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.

The third man married a girl from Texas. He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal.

The first day he didn’t see anything, the second day he didn’t see anything either but by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.
He still has some difficulty when he pees.

Homecoming Queen’s Actions Stun Special Needs Classmate

Every parent worries whether their child will fit in at school or be the outcast. With bullying so prevalent nowadays, those concerns are legitimate.

When that child has special needs, the anxiety is even greater. Fortunately at smaller schools, everyone knows everyone and can help look out for each other.

Wayne Community Schools in Iowa has slightly more than 200 students in seventh through 12th grades. When Angie Sloan’s daughter Chelsea was ready to enter junior high, she fretted about her daughter being included.

That’s because Chelsea has Down syndrome. But it didn’t take long before Chelsea had a big group of caring classmates who didn’t just look out for her, but were her friends.

Facebook/Angie Sloan

When Chelsea was a senior, she was ecstatic to be named to her high school’s homecoming court. Mom Angie said Chelsea could not stop beaming.

She wrote on Facebook:

“Ever since she found out, she’s been counting down the days, telling EVERYONE, including doctors, therapists, receptionists, seriously, EVERYONE, she talked to the news. I was so excited, because she doesn’t usually get to worked up about these types of things. We went dress shopping, did her hair, and nails, and she even decided wearing a little make-up would be okay. All of these things made this mama so happy, just getting to experience these normal everyday things that most people take for granted. Unbeknownst to me, the real pride and joy would come later.”

When the homecoming king and queen were announced during the coronation, Chelsea was so excited to be standing up there with everyone. She watched her classmate Katie Gassman be crowned queen.

Facebook/Angie Sloan

But then Katie did something so surprising that it made Angie cry. In fact, everyone was struggling to hold back their tears.

After the crowns were presented an announcer came over the loud speaker. She informed everyone that Katie had handed her a letter beforehand to read during the event.

The woman over the microphone struggled to read the heartfelt words. Although it began with Katie saying how honored she was to be named queen – there was something special she wanted to do.

Her note read:

“…tonight I would like to share my crown with the girl who always has a smile on her face and has overcome so many hardships.”

Katie then removed the crown from her head and walked over to Chelsea to put it on hers. Being overcome with surprise and joy, Chelsea’s mouth instantly dropped.

Facebook/Angie Sloan

The entire gymnasium cheered as Katie led Chelsea over to the king to take her spot as one of the homecoming queens. It was a scene that was just too beautiful for words, especially for her mom Angie.

She said:

“This wonderful, selfless, young woman, Katie Gassman chose to share her crown with Chelsea. There really are no words that can describe how I feel. We are so fortunate to live in such a loving community. The students at Wayne Community Schools have proven time and time again that they have kindness and integrity that is so easily forgotten in this day and age. I am so humbled by the love and compassion that they have always shown Chelsea. Thank you Katie.”

You can watch the incredible act of kindness for yourself in the video below, just grab a tissue first!

4-yr-old with cancer is just minutes from death, wakes up and tells mom: “I’ll just go to heaven and play until you get there”

Dealing with the serious illness of a child can make even the sanest of families go crazy. What do you do when there’s nothing to do to help your child?

Ruth Scully never thought her life would come to be being scared of looking at the bathmat in her own bathroom.

For most, a bath mat is something that is just simply there. However, for Ruth it became much more.

At just three-years-old, her son Nolan began to get sick. When his breathing became difficult, Ruth took Nolan to the hospital.

With a resistance to antibiotics, steam, and saline spray, Nolan received tonsil removal surgery in 2015.

When doctors tested the tissue, they discovered he suffered from rhabdomysosarcoma, a soft tissue cancer.

In one day, the Scully family learned their life would be turned upside down.

Dealing with chemo, radiation, and hospital visits, the family prayed for Nolan to win his battle.

While he was sick, Nolan always wanted his mom. He never left her, including in the shower. He simply sat on the bath mat to wait for her.

One day in 2017, doctors broke the news there would be no more suffering because his treatments were exhausted. Ruth understood her days with her sweet son were coming to an end.

She told Nolan the news. He felt relieved he didn’t have to fight anymore.

The family gathered his things to go home. However, Nolan told mom he wanted to stay.

Ruth asked her baby if she could grab a quick shower.

Returning a few minutes later, Ruth saw Nolan fell into a deep sleep.

Ruth lay in bed, beside her son, knowing that she didn’t have much time left with Nolan. But then, in what his mom describes as a ‘miracle’, Nolan woke up, smiled at his mother and said: “I love you mommy”.

After that, he fell back to sleep without waking up again.

Since then, the bathroom mat always brings pain to Ruth. She’ll never forget the way Nolan used to lie there waiting on her.

A needle threader can be actually really just a computer tool for helping put ribbon throughout the attention of a needle. Many forms exist, even though a frequent type unites a brief period of wire bent into a diamond structure, with just one corner held with means of a parcel of tin-plate or even plastic. The user moves the cable loop through the needle eye, so enters the rope through the cable loop, and lastly pulls both loop back through the needle by the grip, which pulls through the thread. The most common needle threader with the type gets got the image of a woman in profile into the plate handle.

I got to confess, I still have a box full of them. As you get older or have bad sight, they make sewing so much easier. That thread gets harder and harder to get in that needle eye hole as it gets smaller!

Yes, they are called needle Threaders. One of the handiest things ever made…. Have you ever used one?

First Responders Return After Helping Husband

When Melissa Ann Work’s husband, Gene, had a heart attack while laying sod, Melissa’s first concern was for his health. This was her nightmare, and there was nothing she could do to ensure her husband would make it through this painful ordeal. What would life be like without him?

Thankfully, a handful of quick-thinking first responders were there to support Gene through his medical episode and rush him to the hospital. Without their help, Melissa knows that she might have lost her husband that blistering summer afternoon.

The entire Work family was forever indebted to the first responders for saving Gene’s life – but it’s what they did after speeding Gene to the hospital that’s gaining a ton of attention online.

Facebook/Melissa Ann Work

After getting her husband back from the hospital, Melissa took to Facebook to share what happened with her home, thanks to the same group of first responders who saved his life.

She wrote:

“I don’t know how to start this, but PLEASE read and PLEASE PLEASE share!!!!!

Before my husband had his massive heart attack, he was working on the sod with my amazing brother-in-law. That is what triggered and set it off. We had just received our last four pallets and were going to finish it. It’s been my husband’s biggest stress as our HOA date to fine us a huge amount was getting closer.

While he was having his heart attack, literally in and out of consciousness, he kept begging me to figure out the sod and have it put down because he didn’t want it to go to waste and die. It’s ALL he kept asking about literally during a massive heart attack. LOL.

I calmed him and kept saying, ‘Jesus will help us. It’s ok. Jesus will figure this out, babe.'”

Facebook/Melissa Ann Work

“We were sent off to the hospital and my incredible brother-in-law (who witnessed the heart attack) stayed back with my 2-year-old niece. He was planning on staying there by himself until midnight to get it finished.

He finished getting the old grass out and then began laying a few rows of the new sod.

As he was laying it, he heard huge trucks driving back down the road. He turned around and saw the fire truck and ambulance had come back. He was confused and thought they were coming to check on him.

Before he knows it, seven firefighters and EMT’s jumped out, put on gloves and said they came back because they knew Gene was in serious trouble and they wanted to lay the new sod so it didn’t die. They knew he wouldn’t be able to do any work for weeks so they came back.”

Not only did these men save Gene’s life, but they also took time out of their insane schedule to save their grass. Now Gene can sit back, heal, and watch his beautiful new grass grow.

Facebook/Melissa Ann Work

“They came back! They saved his life, dropped him off and then cared enough to save our GRASS!

They didn’t know our HOA was going to fine us.

They didn’t know that this guy’s wife (me) is about to fight for my own life during my bone marrow transplant next month.

They didn’t know that my husband pawned his favorite gun to pay for the sod that he thought was going to die.

They didn’t know all we have been through as a little family.

They simply saw someone in need, something in need and did this for us. This wasn’t in their job description.

We have no words. Just sobbing.

PLEASE help us get these men honored! PLEASE help us find them so we can thank them!”

Melissa did her best to find the men whose she’s convinced are her guardian angels – but to no avail. That’s when she turned to the Internet for help. And boy, did it deliver!

Facebook/Melissa Ann Work

Within days of posting her story online, Melissa was able to hound down the group of men who saved her husband’s life and her lawn! After meeting up with the men at their local fire station, Melissa took to Facebook a second time to share her update.

She gushed:

“You guys. We did it!

They were honored. The world knows about them.

We got to meet our heroes. We love them so much. They are now family. They saved his life and his sod. We can never repay them. They feel so loved by y’all. Keep it coming.

Our hearts are so full.

Captain paramedic Boyd Marshall. Driver paramedic Dave Schaffer. Firefighter Paramedic Jason Freiesleben. Firefighter Paramedic Robert Gerstner. Firefighter Paramedic Tyler Romanowski. Firefighter EMT Logan Campbell.”

These names are ones we should remember. They didn’t have to go above and beyond to help the Works – but they did without thinking twice.

Facebook/Melissa Ann Work

This may seem like a random act of kindness, but it’s what first responders do by nature. They would rather give the shirt off of their back than watch a single person go cold. We thank all first responders for their service!

Frustrated mom posts this online after stranger knocks on her car window

A frustrated mom, who got stuck in a grocery store’s parking lot after her car died, shared a story online about an unexpected encounter during a particularly tough day.

Read her post, which has since gone viral, below.

Tawny Nelson
I am the single mother of four absolutely beautiful little girls. They are 9, 5, 2, and 6 weeks. And things have been particularly rough since my ex left.

My truck had a flat I constantly had to air up. The driver side window motor died. And I needed a new alternator belt. The truck was a mess. And we didn’t drive anywhere unless we had to.

Well the other day we desperately needed to go to the store. So we loaded up and drove to the Winn Dixie about 9 blocks away.

When we got out of the store it was far after dark. And POURING rain.

I loaded my kids and groceries into the truck. Tried to crank it…… Nothing. No click. Nothing.

One of my girls had accidentally left a light on. My battery was dead. My phone was also disconnected. I have no family to speak of and was on my own.

I got out and opened my hood to be sure my battery hadn’t come loose. Nope.

I must have asked more than twenty people in the course of two hours for a jump. They all ignored me. Not even a no. Just acted like i didn’t exist.

My 5 Year old was melting down. My newborn SCREAMING, my two year old crying she was hungry, and my oldest desperately trying to help.

I was bawling and felt like the worst Mom ever.

Then I got a knock on the passenger window. An older gentleman (he was 74) with a cane and a bad limp was on the other side of that knock.

I opened the door. He handed me a plate of chicken strips and biscuits from the deli and bottles of water.

‘Feed those babies and yourself young lady. I have a tow truck on the way and my wife will be here shortly to take y’all home.’

Sure enough she arrived followed by the tow truck. Us and our truck were taken home.

The next morning the gentleman returned to my house with a mechanic who replaced my battery and alternator and fixed my window.

The elderly gentleman then left and did not return. When I asked what I owed the mechanic and if I could make payments he smiled telling me the older man had paid for all of it.

He said that the only payment the older man wanted was for me to never give up and keep being an amazing mom.

I’ve never cried so hard in my life. Things had been absolutely awful. More so than I care to explain.

And without knowing us or our situation this kind man helped us in ways he will never know.

What he did revived my faith when I was falling apart. But he wouldn’t even take a hug.

I’ll never be able to thank him. But I certainly hope one day I can do what he did for me for someone else.

Despite the constant bad news in the media, there are still many kindhearted citizens ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Grandpa visited his friends at the nursing home every Saturday – until one day

Every Saturday, Grandpa and I walked to the nursing home a few blocks away from our house.

Mom didn’t like it because I would skip playing with my friends so I could be with Grandpa even on a Saturday. We went to visit many of the old and sick people who lived there because they couldn’t take care of themselves anymore.

“Whoever visits the sick gives them life,” Grandpa always said.

First we visited Mrs. Sokol. I called her “The Cook.” She liked to talk about the time when she was a well-known cook back in Russia. People would come from miles around, just to taste her famous chicken soup.

Next we visited Mr. Meyer. I called him “The Joke Man.” We sat around his coffee table, and he told us jokes. Some were very funny. Some weren’t. And some I didn’t get. He laughed at his own jokes, shaking up and down and turning red in the face. Grandpa and I couldn’t help but laugh along with him, even when the jokes weren’t very funny.

Next door was Mr. Lipman. I called him “The Singer” because he loved to sing for us. Whenever he did, his beautiful voice filled the air, clear and strong and so full of energy that we always sang along with him.

We visited Mrs. Kagan, “The Grandmother,” who showed us pictures of her grandchildren. They were all over the room, in frames, in albums and even taped to the walls.

Mrs. Schrieber’s room was filled with memories, memories that came alive as she told us stories of her own experiences during the old days. I called her “The Memory Lady.”

Then there was Mr. Krull, “The Quiet Man.” He didn’t have very much to say; he just listened when Grandpa or I talked to him. He nodded and smiled, and told us to come again next week. That’s what everyone said to Grandpa and me, even the woman in charge, behind the desk.

Every week we did come again, even in the rain. We walked together to visit our friends: The Cook, The Joke Man, The Singer, The Grandmother, The Memory Lady and The Quiet Man.

One day Grandpa got very sick and had to go to the hospital. The doctors said they didn’t think he would ever get better.

Saturday came, and it was time to visit the nursing home. How could I go visiting without Grandpa? Then I remembered what he once told me: “Nothing should stand in the way of doing a good deed.” So I went alone. Whoever visits the sick gives them life.

Everyone was happy to see me. They were surprised when they didn’t see Grandpa. When I told them that he was sick and in the hospital, they could tell I was sad.

The Cook went on to reveal some of her secret ingredients. The Joke Man told me his latest jokes. The Singer sang a song especially for me. The Grandmother showed me more pictures. The Memory Lady shared more of her memories. When I visited The Quiet Man, I asked him lots of questions. When I ran out of questions, I talked about what I had learned in school.

After a while, I said goodbye to everyone, even the woman in charge, behind the desk.

“Thank you for coming,” she said. “May your grandfather have a complete recovery.”

A few days later, Grandpa was still in the hospital. He was not eating, he could not sit up and he could barely speak. I went to the corner of the room so Grandpa wouldn’t see me cry. My mother took my place by the bed and held Grandpa’s hand. The room was dim and very quiet.

Suddenly the nurse came into the room and said, “You have some visitors.”

“Is this the place with the party?” I heard a familiar voice ask.

I looked up. It was The Joke Man. Behind him were The Cook, The Singer, The Grandmother, The Memory Lady, The Quiet Man and even the woman in charge, behind the desk.

The Cook told Grandpa about all the great food that she would cook for him once he got well. She had even brought him a hot bowl of homemade chicken soup.

“Chicken soup? What this man needs is a pastrami sandwich,” said The Joke Man as he let out one of his deep, rich laughs.

Everyone laughed with him. Then he told us some new jokes. By the time he was finished, everyone had to use tissues to dry their eyes from laughing so hard.

Next, The Grandmother showed Grandpa a get-well card made by two of her granddaughters. On the front of one card was a picture of a clown holding balloons. “Get well soon!” was scribbled in crayon on the inside.

The Singer started singing, and we all sang along with him. The Memory Lady told us how Grandpa once came to visit her in a snowstorm, just to bring her some roses for her birthday.

Before I knew it, visiting hours were up. Everyone said a short prayer for Grandpa. Then they said goodbye and told him that they would see him again soon.

That evening, Grandpa called the nurse in and said he was hungry. Soon he began to sit up. Finally he was able to get out of bed. Each day, Grandpa felt better and better, and he grew stronger and stronger. Soon he was able to go home.

The doctors were shocked. They said his recovery was a medical miracle. But I knew the truth: His friends’ visit had made him well. Whoever visits the sick gives them life.

Grandpa is better now. Every Saturday, without fail, we walk together to visit our friends: The Cook, The Joke Man, The Singer, The Grandmother, The Memory Lady, The Quiet Man … and the woman in charge, behind the desk.

Man pulls over when he sees old man struggling to mow his lawn, then goes even further with his good deed

Mother Theresa captured the sentiment best when she said that “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” People everywhere have discovered that even the smallest gesture of kindness can mean the world to others.

James Johnston encourages others to try and make the world a brighter place after he experienced the beauty that comes from one simple random act of kindness. James owns J&J Lawn Service in West Virginia and was driving home from a job one day when he was struck with the urge to help someone he spied who was struggling.

Facebook/J&J Lawn Service

An older gentleman was having difficulty mowing his lawn. The yard was quite expansive and he only had a push mower with which to knock down the tall grass.

James had just spent 12 hours cutting other people’s lawns. He was ready to head home and relax.

But he just felt an indescribable pull toward the property and the man. There was no way he was going to allow this poor guy to tackle the huge project by himself, James said.

Facebook/J&J Lawn Service

He wrote on Facebook:

“So I turned around and went back and unloaded my mower and drove across the street and asked the gentleman if I could help. His eyes lit up and I took that as a yes. I ran down, jumped on my mower and went to work.”

While James was chopping down the tall grass with his business mower, he glanced over and saw the man who apparently seemed exhausted. He was by his wife, resting his head on her shoulder.

It didn’t long for the professional mower to wrap up the project. When he was done, James turned to give the couple a thumbs up, indicating he was done, and loaded up his equipment.

Before he could leave though, the wife made her way over to James. She profusely thanked him for what he had done.

Their riding mower was broken and they didn’t have the money to fix it. So her husband had been using their small push mower on their huge yard.

“It only took 15 minutes of my time but I changed their life for a small moment. I hope someone reads this and feels like doing something good for someone tomorrow. I’m grateful to be where I’m at and I’m thankful for the people that helped me get here.”

Facebook/James Johnston

James couldn’t get the couple out of his mind on his drive home, so he decided to do something else for them. The very next day he launched a GoFundMe page to drum up enough money to buy them a riding mower.

He even plunked down some of his own money on behalf of his company and encouraged other businesses to match his donation. He wanted to prove that there are good people in this world willing to help others.

In just a short amount of time they not only reached their goal of $1,000, they surpassed it. Life will hopefully now be a little easier for the couple with the help they’ll be receiving.

It was fate that led James past that family’s home and his heart of gold that prompted him to stop. What an awesome thing he did!

Adorable Little Boy Hears Mother’s Voice For The Very First Time

Alex Denman was born with Bilateral Moderate Sensorineural hearing loss. This diagnosis meant that from the moment he was welcomed into this world and for five long months, Alex was nearly deaf. Small moments many of us would take for granted, like the chirp of a bird or the whistle of the wind, were things Alex never got experience. So when it came time to fit the bubbly little five-month-old with his first pair of hearing aids, his parents were overjoyed but apprehensive. They knew all of the strange sounds could be overwhelming at first, but they also knew it was the beginning of the rest of their son’s life. Mom and Dad had no idea he would have such a heartwarming reaction to hearing a very special sound for the first time.

YouTube

As soon as the technicians switched on Alex’s hearing aid, a small grin spread across his face. They made sure to keep the volume on low as to not startle him and watched cautiously while he surveyed the room. It wasn’t until Alex’s mother, Jen, cooed to him, ‘Hey. It’s Mummy. Mummy. Hey, are you taking it all in? Yeah. Yeah,’ that the boy’s huge smile lit up the room. Hearing his parents’ voice for the first time was more than exciting for this sweet little one.

YouTube

Jen later shared the footage of her son’s sweet reaction online, and soon thousands of people were watching Alex’s appointment on camera. While she loved the kindness was shown, Jen told the British talk show This Morning that the attention shocked her, “It was only meant for family and friends. And it just went crazy [from there].” Everyone just loved watching this precious moment unfold! Take a peek at this adorable clip for yourself below. We wish the entire Denman family a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and love!

Here’s A Funny Joke About A Navy Sailor That Couldn’t Find A Place To Sleep

By the time the sailor pulled into a little town every hotel room was taken. “You’ve got to have a room somewhere,” he pleaded. “Or just a bed, I don’t care where.”

“Well, I do have a double room with one occupant – an Air Force guy,” admitted the manager, “and he might be glad to split the cost. But to tell you the truth, he snores so loudly that people in adjoining rooms have complained in the past. I’m not sure it’d be worth it to you.”

“No problem,” the tired Navy man assured him. “I’ll take it.”

The next morning, the sailor came down to breakfast bright-eyed and bushy tailed. “How’d you sleep” asked the manager. “Never better.” The manager was impressed. “No problem with the other guy snoring?” “Nope. I shut him up in no time,” said the Navy guy.

“How’d you manage that?” asked the manager.

“He was already in bed, snoring away, when I came in the room,” the sailor explained. “I went over, gave him a kiss on the cheek, and said, ‘Goodnight beautiful,’ …and he sat up all night watching me.”

Stranger Steps Up When Woman With Twins Is Kicked Off Flight

Even the most patient person can become frazzled with the hassles of airline travel. It seems as if the worst part of any vacation is actually getting to your destination. Long airport security queues, crying babies, and delayed flights only adds to everyone’s overall frustration level.

While no one wants to get stuck sitting next to an intoxicated or belligerent individual, thankfully these are usually the folks that are the first to get kicked off a busy flight. If you’re neither of these, then you might think you’re safe from getting the boot.

But, sometimes the person that a flight attendant chooses to harass is the last person you’d expect. In fact, fashion and lifestyle blogger Mackenzie Murphy was shocked by who the flight crew picked on during a recent flight.

Here is what she witnessed firsthand:

A mom of twins was traveling alone with her babies when life threw her an enormous curveball…

Let’s face it, people can and will get really annoyed when someone else’s baby starts crying on an airplane. So, it’s no surprise to learn that when a mother with newborn twins was about to get kicked off a plane, no one came to her aid. A quiet and peaceful flight probably sounded like a much better alternative than helping someone in need.

At first, Mackenzie was saddened by the situation that was unfolding just a couple of rows away.

“Yesterday, this woman on my flight had twin babies, probably under 6 months, not so sure of the age. It was a very packed flight so they started taking carry on luggage to store under the plane. A gate worker took this woman’s car seat, meaning she would now have to hold both babies since they weren’t old enough to sit up on their own in a seat.”

As soon as the mother sat down, the flight attendant told the woman that she wasn’t allowed to hold on to both babies – it would be a safety hazard. It appears that the mother’s original intention was for one of her twins to sit in the car seat next to her, which airlines will allow if there are open seats on the flight.

Since the flight was fully packed, this poor mom was told that she would have to leave.

However, it didn’t take long for Mackenzie’s faith in humanity to be restored. A complete stranger spoke up, and came to this mother’s rescue.

“A mother sitting in front of me, with permission from the other mother, volunteered to hold one of her babies for the entire flight. Keep in mind this was a flight that was supposed to be a quick 45 minutes. We ended up sitting on the tarmac for 2 1/2 hours! Without a complaint this woman fed the other woman’s baby, burped him.”

Incredibly, the stranger also fed the other woman’s baby, and burped him too. Way to go, surrogate mom!

Facebook/Mackenzie Murphy

However, the surrogate mom actually had a daughter of her own that was sitting in the seat next to her. Understandably, the little girl was jealous of the new kid sitting in her mommy’s lap, who was now getting all the attention.

“Her own daughter started crying. This mom, so calmly, went on to explain to her young daughter that “our job is to help other people. This mom is all by herself with no help, and really needs another mom to help.” She then went on to hold him, sing him songs, and then he slept the entire flight without even a cry.”

This is such a heartwarming story! It was so selfless and caring for the stranger to step in and offer to help. Not only that, but she also taught her own young daughter a lesson in humanity.

The moral of this story is a simple one, but one that we sometimes tend to forget – when you see someone that needs help, do the right thing and help them!

Husband’s Emotional Post About Wife’s Terminal Pregnancy

Losing a child before you really even get a chance to meet them is a devastating and frustrating reality to deal with – and unfortunately, that’s the hand Royce and Keri Young were dealt.

The gorgeous couple from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma found out last year that they were expecting a little girl to add to their family. But then doctors told them the heartbreaking news….

Facebook/Keri Young

Their unborn baby girl Eva was growing inside the womb without a brain. The doctors informed Royce and Keri that it wouldn’t be long after her birth before God would call her up to Heaven. There was nothing else they could do to help her.

But without skipping a beat, Keri asked an important question in regards to carrying through with the pregnancy, despite the grim outlook.

Taking to Facebook, Royce shared why the last few months have been particularly rough for them and why he looks up to his wife now more than ever. His post is lengthy, but it’s absolutely worth the read:

“The other night, before I left for New Orleans, I was watching my beautiful wife sleep peacefully on the couch.

I looked at her laying there, her belly big with our daughter kicking away, a daughter that won’t live more than a few days, and it just overwhelmed me of how incredible this woman is. I’m a writer so when I’m feeling something, I tend to have to write it down. So I pulled out my phone and started writing what I was thinking. And I realized tonight, sitting a thousand miles away in a hotel room (especially after meeting this awesome kid named Jarrius, that’s been everywhere at All-Star Weekend who needs a liver transplant) that instead of just keeping this one for me like I normally do, I should tell everyone else just how incredible Keri Young is. (I also miss her five seconds after I leave the house for a trip so I’m thinking about her all the time anyway.)

I thought back to the moment where we found out Eva wasn’t perfect, and how literally 30 seconds after our doctor told us our baby doesn’t have a brain, somehow through full-body ugly crying, Keri looked up and asked, ‘If I carry her full term, can we donate her organs?’ I remember our doctor putting her hand on Keri’s shoulder and saying, ‘Oh honey, that’s so brave of you to say.’ Like, how nice of you, but come on.

Keri meant it. There I was, crestfallen and heartbroken, but I momentarily got lifted out of the moment and just stood in awe of her. I was a spectator to my own life, watching a superhero find her superpowers. In literally the worst moment of her life, finding out her baby was going to die, it took her less than a minute to think of someone else and how her selflessness could help. It’s one of the most powerful things I’ve ever experienced. In the eight years we’ve been married (and 15 years together) I’ve had a lot of moments stop me in my tracks where I thought, ‘holy crap, this woman I’m married to, lucky me.’ But this one was different. It hit me that not only am I married to my very best friend, but to a truly remarkable, special human being.”

Facebook/Royce Young

“This whole process has been rough, but I say that as someone watching from the bleachers like the rest of you. Keri has been in the trenches the entire time, feeling every little kick, every hiccup and every roll. She’s reminded every moment of every day that she’s carrying a baby that will die. Her back hurts. Her feet are sore. She’s got all the super fun pregnant stuff going on. But the light at the end of her nine-month tunnel will turn into a darkness she’s never felt before a couple hours or days after Eva is born.

She’s the one that is going to deal with all that comes with having a baby — her milk coming in, the recovery process, etc, but with no snuggly, soft, beautiful newborn to look at to remind you that it was all worth it.

We made our choice to carry Eva to full term for a lot of reasons, but the first and foremost was to donate her organs. We don’t say that to try and sound like great people or anything. It was just a practical endgame that, in our minds, before we came to the realization Eva is alive and our daughter deserves to meet her mama and daddy, gave us a purpose to continue on. Donating was on Keri’s mind from darn near the second we found out and while the experience of holding and kissing our daughter will be something we cherish forever, the gift(s) she’s got inside that little body of hers is what really matters. Keri saw that almost instantly. That kid Jarrius wears a shirt that says ‘It Takes Lives To Save Lives.’ I couldn’t stop thinking about that all day. There’s another family out there hurting and hoping for a miracle for their baby, knowing full well someone else’s baby will need to die first. Eva can be that miracle.

We’re getting closer to the finish line, and while it’s going to be amazing to run through that tape and meet Eva, it comes at a cost. We’ll go to the hospital for a birth, and go home without a baby.

A lot of people say things like, ‘I wouldn’t change anything’ after a trying circumstance, but I’m not about to say that. I would definitely change this if I could. I want my daughter to be perfect. I want her to blow out her candles on her first birthday. I want to watch her bang her head on our coffee table trying to learn to walk. I want her to run up a cell phone bill texting boys. I want to walk her down an aisle. I want to change it all so, so badly. But I can’t. This is our reality. And there’s no stopping it.

Whenever Harrison gets hurt, or has to pull a band aid off or something, Keri will ask him, ‘Are you tough? Are you BRAVE?’ And that little boy will nod his head and say, ‘I tough! I brave!’

I’m looking at Keri right now and I don’t even have to ask. She’s TOUGH. She’s BRAVE. She’s incredible. She’s remarkable. She’s cut from a different cloth, combining wit, beauty, courage, silliness, character and integrity into one spectacular woman. And somehow, she’s my wife. Not that I needed some awful situation like this to actually see all of that, but what it did was make me want to tell everyone else about it.”

Although Eva won’t get to spend much time on this Earth with her mother and father, she will save lives after her passing! Keri’s strength during her pregnancy is something many of us couldn’t even imagine.

Facebook/Keri Young

It takes a special person to deal with carrying a child that will inevitably pass with as much grace and determination to help others as Keri has done!

10-Year-old boy confesses he lives with grandma because mom & step-dad threw him out. His response is gold.

In life, we may come across someone who’ll make a deep impact on the way we perceive things in life. This was such an encounter.

For some time I have had a person provide me with a rose boutonniere to pin on the lapel of my suit every Sunday. Because I always got a flower on Sunday morning, I really did not think much of it. It was a nice gesture that I appreciated, but it became routine. One Sunday, however, what I considered ordinary became very special. As I was leaving the Sunday service a young man approached me. He walked right up to me and said, “Sir, what are you going to do with your flower?” At first I did not know what he was talking about, but then I understood. The boy said, “I would like it if you are just going to throw it away.” At this point I smiled and gladly told him that he could have my flower, casually asking him what he was going to do with it.

The little boy, who was probably less than 10 years old, looked up at me and said, “Sir, I’m going to give it to my granny. My mother and father got divorced last year. I was living with my mother, but when she married again, she wanted me to live with my father. I lived with him for a while, but he said I could not stay, so he sent me to live with my grandmother. She is so good to me. She cooks for me and takes care of me. She has been so good to me that I want to give that pretty flower to her for loving me.”

When the little boy finished, I could hardly speak. My eyes filled with tears and I knew I had been touched in the depths of my soul. I reached up and unpinned my flower. With the flower in my hand, I looked at the boy and said, “Son, that is the nicest thing I have ever heard, but you can’t have this flower because it’s not enough. If you’ll look in front of the pulpit, you’ll see a big bouquet of flowers. Different families buy them for the church each week. Please take those flowers to your granny because she deserves the very best.”

If I hadn’t been touched enough already, he made one last statement and I will always cherish it. He said, “What a wonderful day! I asked for one flower but got a beautiful bouquet.”

Latest ‘Challenge’ Causes Kids To End Up In The Hospital

You may have heard the sleepover stories where the first kid to fall asleep is written on with markers by everyone else, or the sleepy guest whose hand is placed in a glass of ice water. Kids at sleepovers are often on a quest to tease each other and engage in crazy antics.

But unfortunately, some of these antics are anything but a laughing matter. The latest “prank” sweeping the internet is extremely dangerous. There are many “challenges” out there that may have started out as something fun to do, but actually pose a danger to kids’ lives.

YouTube

The latest challenge is one that parents need to be aware of. Not only is it terribly risky, but it has been getting a lot of news coverage lately for its serious and lasting consequences. It can cause very bad scarring and sometimes even permanent damage.

It’s called the hot water challenge and prompts one person to take a container of boiling hot water and throw it on an unsuspecting person. Another version has a person drinking it.

It takes mere seconds for the boiling hot water to cause third degree burns when it hits 140 degrees Fahrenheit. There unfortunately are YouTube videos surfacing that show kids exactly how to carry out this challenge.

Sadly, eight-year-old Ki’ari Pope passed away in March after being dared to drink boiling water through a straw. She ended up hospitalized with a tracheotomy, deaf and with chronic respiratory problems.

YouTube

Another 11-year-old was hospitalized in August after she was asleep when her friends threw hot water on her. An Arkansas teen sustained first- and second-degree burns on his neck after his friends showered him with boiling hot water while he slept.

The 15-year-old and six boys were at a friend’s house for a sleepover with the boys who were still awake tried the hot water challenge on him. He woke up screaming and crying when he felt the overwhelming burning sensation on his neck. He told THV11:

“I felt this really bad burning on my neck … I laid in bed for two hours and finally got up. I went to the bathroom and realized that this had happened then they told me they had poured the hot water on me…”

YouTube

The teen went home and his mom rushed him to the hospital. Reportedly, the teens didn’t realize just how hot the water was.

Since the incident, the teen said the others are no longer his friends. His mom is begging other parents to speak with their children about the hazards of online challenges like the one that harmed her son.
