Dog Given 8 Weeks to Live Hangs On for Months to See His Dad for the Last Time

“Dogs are the only creatures on earth that love you more than they love themselves” is a saying that proved to be true many times. These amazing animals are gentle, loyal, and love their humans more than their barking and licking can say.

Having a dog by your side means having a friend for life. The sad reality is, however, that the life span of our furry buddies is shorter than ours’ and there comes a time when we have to say that one last goodbye. If you have never gone through the pain of losing a pet, you can’t possibly know how painful that experience might be.

Kermie was a loving dog who was diagnosed with cancer only a month after her human daddy Eric was deployed for eight months. The veterinarians gave Kermie only two to three months to live, but she wouldn’t leave the world without seeing her human for one last time.

This is what Eric’s wife had to say of their sweet pet.

“We were devastated, to say the least. Kermie was our first child, and we did not think Eric would ever get to see her again.”

“Kermie continued to do okay for several months, surpassing the vet’s estimate for survival. As the end of the deployment drew nearer, hopes for a never-expected reunion began to creep into our minds. However, the tumor in her mouth was making it increasingly more difficult for her to eat and drink.”

“November, homecoming month, was very stressful. We truly did not know if she would make it until Eric returned. The boys and I were doing everything we could to ensure she took her medication and kept her weight up. I was making her home-cooked meals, and at times, hand-feeding her. “

“Twelve days before Eric was due home, we received crushing news – the deployment was being extended indefinitely. I just KNEW Kermie would not make it until Christmas.”

“She hung on.”

“A few days before Christmas, after 9 long months, we received the best gift. It is all any of us wanted for Christmas.”

Seeing Eric was all Kermie needed in order for her strength to get back. She started eating and drinking without struggle. But only a few months after she celebrated her 12th birthday, Kermie had to be put down because her tumor made her life very difficult and miserable.

Her family misses her dearly and will never forget all the joys Kermie brought in their life. However, they know she’s now at a better place.

Along with the heartwarming video of the reunion, the family shared a quote from Dr. Seuss that goes, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

K-9 Was Shot While on the Job – His Reaction Is Priceless When the Officer Comes to Visit

In the fight against criminals, K-9 units play very important role. The officers along with their four-legged highly-trained canines make sure the law is respected and everyone stays safe and sound. The intelligent dogs who have strong sense of smell help in pursuing fugitives, searching for missing persons, and detecting narcotics or weapons.

Back in March 2018, officer R.J. Young and Bruno, a K-9 German Shepherd, were on the job when the canine got shot in the face by a suspect he was trying to reach.

The brave dog risked his own life in order to prevent anyone around him getting hurt. His injuries were pretty severe and he had to undergo two surgeries. A bullet was lodged into his chest, but luckily, it missed his heart.

Bruno’s recovery was intense, but he pulled through and was ready to say goodbye to his professional career as an officer. His fellow friend, officer Young, visited Bruno at the hospital for the first time after the incident took place and their reunion was caught on tape. We have to admit that we couldn’t help but shed some tears of joy for these two.

The best part of all is that now Bruno is officially adopted by officer Young’s family. They all love him so much and know he simply belongs there, near his friend’s side.

Officer Young said, “He’s like a son to me. Bruno will be with me for the rest of my life.”

Stray Dog Steals a Slice of Pizza and Leads to Homeless Puppies’ Rescue

Usually, when something is taken from us, we tend to react in an angry manner. Luckily, the workers who were on their lunch break when a stray dog approached and stole a slice of the mouth-watering pepperoni pizza didn’t get mad. On the contrary, they could see from the way she looked that the poor soul was starving.

However, this kind workers knew a small portion of their lunch wouldn’t be enough food for the malnourished ‘thief’ so they decided to call the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA and ask whether they could step in and help.

When the rescuers arrived at the scene, they stumbled upon an incredible discovery. It turned out the dog didn’t take the food for herself. She had someone to feed, and she would do anything to do so.

The dog, now named Queen Elizabeth, was a mother of six precious puppies. Unfortunately, when they were first spotted that day, they were all near starvation.

the Peninsula Humane Society said, “This poor little dog was struggling to survive on her own, eating whatever scraps of food she could find and trying to take care of her babies.”

Amazon Tribe Wins Lawsuit Against Oil Company To Save Half A Million Of Acres Of Rainforest

The planet, our shared home, is facing real crisis as the global warming starts taking its toll. The long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth’s climate system leads to heat waves, sea-level rise, flooding, melting glaciers, earlier spring arrival, coral reef bleaching, and the spread of diseases.

The rainforests prevent all this by storing the Earth’s rainwater and releasing it back into the atmosphere.

The fact that the rainforests are in danger of being destroyed for the sake of the profit of the oil companies should be enough concern for all of us to take action.

An Indigenous tribe of people called the Waorani, native of the Ecuadorian Amazon made history when they won a lawsuit that protected more than half a million acres of forest land from being mined for oil drilling.

The Ecuadorian government planned on drilling for oil over an area that spanned seven million acres of rinforest. The Waorani stood for their home and got the support of famous names who are fighting for our planet, among which Leonardo DiCaprio. Before the huge landmark victory for the rainforest, the actor Twitted:

Oswando Nenquimo, a spokesperson for the Waorani of Pastaza released a statement saying:

“Today we have protected our forest from oil drilling; we have protected our water from contamination; we have protected our children from sickness. This is a legal precedent for indigenous rights.”

“But the fight is far from over. The government will appeal because they still want the oil beneath our land. Indigenous Nations across the Amazon and the world must band together to protect our homes.”

This story and what the tribe achieved gives humanity a sparkle of hope that things for our planet could still turn for the better. What we should all do is try to keep it as clean as possible and fight for the raisnforests.

Gary Sinise Surprised 1,000 Children Of Fallen U.S. Soldiers With A Trip Of A Lifetime

Known for his roles in Forrest Gump, Apolo 13, CSI: NY, and many more, it looks like Gary Sinise gave a lot to the public throughout the years. However, his best role is that of an incredible real-life humanitarian whose foundation has helped hundreds of families of fallen soldiers and military members.

Last year, the Gary Sinise Foundation flew around 1,700 people, including 1,000 children of soldiers who lost their life fighting for our country to an unforgettable trip to the magic land of Disney in Orlando, Florida.

The surprise trip was part of the program dubbed “Snowball Express” and involved 15 private planes. The children were able to enjoy the all expenses paid trip around the Holiday season.

The Snowball Express became part of the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2017. “We are committed to maintaining the wonderful traditions while finding new and exciting ways to serve our families of the fallen,” says the foundation.

“Each one of these children who are going on these airplanes have lost a parent in military services,” said Sinise. “…Either combat related or illness or unfortunately suicide sometimes. We wanna take care of these kids and make sure they know we don’t forget.”

What this man does for these families is simply incredible. Being a veteran himself, he knows what it takes to be part of the military and to put your life on the line every single day although you know your children, parents, spouse, are praying for you and waiting for you to come home safe and sound.

Jen Tringle witnessed the incredible moment the children who were taking the trip were greeted by the staff and the people present at the Nashville airport with an emotional rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

Along with the video, she wrote. “Most every person standing around, myself included was bawling at the sight of these kids and spouses who have paid so great a price for our country. To see all of this at Christmas time was so humbling,” she said.

Loyal Dog Mourns His Caregiver By Sitting Vigil Outside His Office

A person named Demafelix shared a heartbreaking story about Buboy, the dog that refused to let go of the person who fed him and gave him love.

Buboy was spotted standing in front of the faculty office at Mabalacat City College in Pampanga, Philippines. He even tried scratching the door, obviously trying to get the so much anticipated belly rubs from his favorite human. The staff at the faculty described this as the most touching scene they’ve ever witnessed because they knew the person Buboy was looking for will never arrive.

Marcelo, the professor who took care of the stray pup passed away. He was described by his colleagues as a kind-hearted man who offered help to everyone in need and would often stop by at the faculty even if he didn’t have lessons only to feed Buboy.

“[He] considered you family,” Demafelix wrote in a Facebook post. “When he has no classes, sir will go to school to look at you and give you food.”

“You can’t express all the pain because you don’t know what happened,” Demafelix added “Suddenly he didn’t go to school but still you are waiting outside the faculty [room] where you are always waiting for him, you are always waiting for his arrival.”

Knowing how much the professor cared for the dog who was now confused and left wondering where his friend was, Demafelix decided to take Buboy to Marcelo’s wake and let him say the final goodbye.

Buboy was now at ease that he could see his human once again and everyone got emotional when they realized the loving creature refused to leave the coffin’s side.

The school and the rest of the professors are now taking care of Buboy and make sure he is well fed and given the love he deserves. They do it as a tribute to Marcelo.

Enormous humpback whale leaps out of the sea right behind a fishing boat

Nature never fails to amaze us and take our breath away. All those mesmerizing creatures that we get to share this world with only add to the beauty of our planet, and having close encounters with some of the wild and giant beasts is something we all want to experience.

Recently, whale watchers Douglas Croft and Kate Cummings took a video of one of the most fascinating scenes when it comes to men and nature. During their stay at Monterey Bay, California, they witnessed a Humpback whale leaping out of the water. The best thing of all was that the giant creature decided to get some fresh air right behind a small fishing boat, and it really showed how huge these wales really are compared to a fisherman and his vessel.

Although the place where the video was taken is known as one of the most popular whale-watching spots, no one really expected for such a close encounter to take place.

We believe the person on the boat was as surprised as Croft and Cummings.

Compared to the whale, the boat named Baja Sueno looks like a toy.

We don’t even want to imagine how the captain of that boat must have felt at the moment he realized a whale was getting out of the water so close to him. His feelings were probably a mixture of excitement and fear.

The video is truly amazing and it makes us wish we were on that boat, looking at the magnificent whale having fun right before our eyes.

That had to be a huge and loud splash, don’t you think so? Luckily, it didn’t harm the captain of the boat.

Speaking of that day, Croft told Uniland how there were hundreds od boats there, and before getting out of the water completely, this particular whale was enjoying in front of the curious eyes staring at him.

“That the breach was directly behind the fishing boat really shows the size. Since the boat is closer, it should look bigger, but the whale is huge! If I’d been the fisherman, I’d probably need some new underwear.”

Cummings said that if a whale breaches once, they are likely to it multiple times.

“I figured the next breach would be around the fisherman because the whale was heading that way and sure enough! Though I didn’t expect the whale and the boat to line up so perfectly.”

6-Year-Old ‘Lunch Shamed’ By School, Family Demands A Change In School Policy

An unpleasant incident that took place at the Southwest Elementary School made family of a 6-year-old ask for the school policy to be changed.

Namely, little Anya Howard was about to have her lunch at the school cafeteria when the employees noticed they couldn’t charge those $2.25 from her school account. That’s when they asked her to return the tray with food and told her to go at the back of the line and wait for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Doing so, it made some classmates laugh at her face, saying she was poor and couldn’t afford her lunch. This made Anya sad and ashamed. It was her grandfather Dwight Howard who told the story. He also urges the district administration to review the cafeteria policies and make changes that would help avoid such unpleasant and humiliating situations in the future.

“When she was talking to me about it, she was more than ‘sad,’” he told WFLA.

“I mean, that’s embarrassing for a little 6-year-old.”

The school sent a note saying how the girl’s cafeteria credit was $0.10, but they didn’t bother to inform the parents on the matter earlier.

“They waited until there was a dime left, denied her the opportunity to eat the lunch that she had [been served and tried to pay for] and then she had to go to the end of the line to wait for a PB&J,” Dwight said.

The Greenwood Community Schools superintendent, Dr. Kent DeKoninck, emailed a statement to News 8:

“It is not an uncommon occurrence for multiple students to be served the alternate lunch on any given day. Any time this happens, our staff looks to handle all of these as discreetly as possible… We do allow elementary students to charge two hot meals before receiving the alternate meal.”

He didn’t want to add any additional comments on the case, as he said Anya’s family didn’t contact them directly.

Wildlife photographer Brent Cizek thought the day was a nice one, so he decided to visit Minnesota’s Lake Bemidji hoping to make some nice shots. But what he came across was truly unbelievable and way above all his expectations.

Believe it or not, he stumbled upon a mommy duck with 76 ducklings and people can’t get enough of the video of this truly unusual sight.

That a single mother can’t possibly lay so many eggs is something we are all aware of, that’s why this case of a mommy duck with so many ducklings is so special, yet not that uncommon in the ducks’ world.

Actually, not all of these sweet babies belong to the duck, but she’s in fact babysitting, or ducklingsitting in this case. The duck is a “crèche” mother.

Speaking with Jillian Mock of the Audubon Society, Cizek confessed how he never though he would see such a sight of so many ducklings getting out of the water one by one as though they were waiting in line to say hi to the camera. He also said how the equipment he brought with him that day wasn’t his best one. Well, only if he knew he was going to make the best duckling video ever.

Cizek named the common merganser duck species matron “Mama Merganser.”

The ducks were practicing swimming across the lake while their “mommy” was waiting for them on the shore.

Seeing them sprinting in line made it look like they were walking on the surface of the water. Truly breathtaking.

Some of them, however, weren’t feeling that confident and didn’t enter the water. They were just dipping their feet in it every once in a while.

Smithsonian Magazine states that female common mergansers only lay about 12 eggs at a time, which means around that number of babies belonged to this mother duck. The rest belonged to other moms, but this one was in charge of all of them that day.

Bob Duchesne, who writes a birding column for the Bangor Daily News, says that this crèche, “is a form of ducky daycare system which is most typical among birds that breed colonially and whose eggs hatch at roughly the same time.”

It’s obvious this system of bringing up the little ones works, as it allows other moms to get their rest for the day, and their little ones get to be part of a crowd and have some fun time.

However, wildlife experts say that it is still not that common for one mom to take care of so many babies. The numbers reported before are around 50 ducklings, but this brave duck managed to look after 76 of them.

Seeing large groups of animals functioning like this is fascinating. This will help the ducklings learn how to fly in formation later in life.

Man Looks Out Window To See Some Unexpected Guests Having A Blast In His Pool

Being surrounded by nature and bonding with the wild life can’t compare to any other feeling. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to experience that.

Garth Bradley lives in a lovely area of South Africa, and just recently, he got some unexpected visitors who really made his day. Honestly, we enjoyed watching them having fun in his swimming pool, too.

He was working from home that day, when he heard some splashing sounds. Wondering who it could be, he took a look outside and saw the animals jumping in and out of the water.

“It was enjoyable to watch them having fun. Sort of like watching human kids playing around the pool,” Garth told The Dodo.

If you are already guessing, let us tell you who paid Garth a visit on that sunny day; a group of baboons who were looking forward to some refreshment.

This wasn’t the first time for these creatures to hang around Garth’s natural garden, but it was definitely their first encounter with the swimming pool, and it looks like they loved it.

Garth is pleased to have them around and doesn’t mind if they come again and take a full use of his trees and pool.

“We chose to live in this area for its natural beauty,” Garth said. “We have moved into their space, they haven’t moved into ours. It is about tolerance. It would be foolish of us not to expect visitors from the wild.”

Hungry Stray Walks Up To Stranger’s Car, The Driver Makes The Mistake Of Offering Food

Apparently, all it takes for a dog to welcome itself in someone’s home, or in the case of this lovely stray, in someone’s car, is for the word food to be spoken.

When a man driving his car spotted a lovely black dog approaching his vehicle, he asked the animal whether it wanted something to eat. What the dog did next will amaze you. It liked the idea of having some food and jumped right into the car.

Honestly, it wasn’t something the man and his passenger expected for the dog to do. They were caught by surprise and admitted how they even got scared a little bit. Well, they obviously forgot that cats aren’t the only ones who get to choose their owners, some dogs do it too.

At this point, the man probably thought how offering food wasn’t the best idea, or maybe not, since they had lots of fun laughing.

It’s great the man was able to put everything on tape, because telling people how a dog climbed right into your car getting stuck between the windshield and the steering wheel for a while, I guess you wouldn’t buy it.

The dog’s reaction once at the passenger’s seat is as though it’s asking, “Ok, man, now how about that food you offered?”

This has to be one of the funniest videos out there. It’s a must see!

5-Year-Old Breaks Karate Board After Class Cheers Him On

In life, we may often fail in accomplishing our goals in the first try, but what is important is to understand that we should never quit pursuing our dreams, no matter what it takes. And yes, asking for help along the way isn’t something we should be embarrassed of because the reality is that everyone needs a little push and a helping hand every now and then.

Phoenix is a 5-year-old boy from Orlando, Florida who is a perfect example of what love, encouragement, and words of praise may do.

He is taking karate lessons at the Bobby Dixon’s American Martial Arts Academy and recently, he and his friends were taking a challenge of breaking a wooden board. However, where his classmates did it on their first go, Phoenix failed.

What he did was get up and try again. But he failed the second time, too. It looked like it was a challenging task for sweet Phoenix to accomplish, but according to his mother Claudia Swinger, he wasn’t about to quit trying anytime soon.

After some time, however, Phoenix felt like it was too much for him and burst in tears. He felt embarrassed because he was the only one who couldn’t break that wooden board.

Seeing him struggle, his peers decided to cheer him up and encourage him to give it a couple more tries. Claudia captured the moment the kids cheer her son’s name as one. This made Phoenix go for it again, this time more determined than ever to break that board that caused him so much trouble.

This time, he did it on the second try. He managed to complete the task all thanks to his friends’ support.

It was a day to remember not only for Phoenix who learned a valuable lesson, but for the rest of the kids too. They knew that offering a helping hand to someone in need and a bit encouragement may lead to success.

Phoenix got a bunch of hugs and everyone knew he was the winner of the event, not because of his kicks, but because he never gave up trying.

Claudia shared the video, writing: “My boy learned one of the most important lessons in his life today! NEVER EVER GIVE UP!”

The confidence boost Phoenix got from those around him was all he needed to complete the task that seemed like an impossible mission at the beginning.

It’s amazing how kids so young can be so compassionate. We are sure they will grow into great human beings and valuable members of the community.

Mom of four dies suddenly of brain aneurysm so doctors urge people to learn the warning signs

The unfortunate event of a mother’s passing as a result of brain aneurysm now serves as a warning for people to never ignore any sudden and severe headaches they may experience.

The thing is that the brain aneurysm may take place with little to no warning and people often misdiagnose it with migraine.

But for 41-year-old Lee Broadway from North Carolina this condition resulted with a fatal outcome, and now her family is urging others to pay closer attention to the changes they experience in their bodies in order to prevent any serious consequences.

Lee suffered from migraine most of her life and she got used to the pain over time. But that day was different. She was feeling so bad that she had to call her husband and ask him to get home as quickly as he could and bring her to hospital.

Eric, Lee’s husband, later said how his wife described her situation as “the worst headache of her life.”

Eric rushed Lee to the ER, but he was aware something serious was in question.

“I knew this couldn’t be good because I’ve seen her deal with pain before,” he told People Magazine.

Only two days after she was admitted to hospital, Lee passed away and Eric and tiher four children were devastated.

Although identifying the warning signs of brain aneurysm can be challenging, doctors are trying to raise awareness of the consequences by teaching the public about some of the symptoms of this life-threatening condition.

Mayo Clinic states that “A brain aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain. It often looks like a berry hanging on a stem.

A brain aneurysm can leak or rupture, causing bleeding into the brain (hemorrhagic stroke). Most often a ruptured brain aneurysm occurs in the space between the brain and the thin tissues covering the brain. This type of hemorrhagic stroke is called a subarachnoid hemorrhage.”

They further list some of the most common symptoms people should be aware of such as:

- Sudden, extremely severe headache
- Nausea and vomiting
- Stiff neck
- Blurred or double vision
- Sensitivity to light
- Seizure
- A drooping eyelid
- Loss of consciousness
- Confusion

Many times, the brain aneurysm may cause problems even before it leaks. In cases like this, seeking medical help may lead to early detection and prevention of rupturing.

If the aneurysm is large it may press the nerves or the brain tissue and cause some of the following symptoms:

Pain above and behind one eye
A dilated pupil
Change in vision or double vision
Numbness of one side of the face

According to the doctors who treated Lee, her condition was initially not considered that serious and after the surgery the family was told she was going to pull through, but she later bled out and was considered brain dead as a result of postoperative complications.

“I ran out and lost it,” said Eric.

The reasons for brain aneurysm to form are still unknown but doctors believe older people and women are at higher risk of developing one. Further, they say how other categories who may develop one over time are heavy smokers, drug and alcohol abusers, and people with high blood pressure.

Brain aneurysm can also occur after a person experiences a head injury or certain blood infections. Some are even born with it.

A Man Notices Stray Dog Carrying A Bowl Of Food And Decides To Follow Her

Seeing a stray dog on the streets isn’t anything unusual as many of these animals are struggling to find food and shelter. Some of them ended up there after being abandoned by their owners, and for others that kind of life is all they know of.

The reality is that we have no idea how hard it is for them to survive, and we certainly don’t know their background story. For most of us, they are just dogs who didn’t have any luck to become someone’s pet.

An animal rescuer named Yusuf Kılıçsarı is aware of all this, so one day, he decided to film a dog he saw running down the road trying to learn more of the life they have on the streets.

But as he got a closer look at the dog, he noticed something pretty unusual. She was carrying a bowl of food in the mouth.

Yusuf couldn’t help but wonder where this dog was going. Was there someone waiting for her to bring the food, or she was just trying to find a safe place to have her lunch.

The dog was determined not to spill any of the food she had in her bowl, and she was so focused on it that she risked a car to hit her while she was crossing the street.

Luckily, the driver noticed her just on time to stop his car. The dog didn’t even turn her head for a moment, all she wanted was to get where she wanted to be.

Yusuf’s curiosity grew even bigger at this point and he just followed in her footsteps.

He had to go through a series of junkyard cars and gravel pits in order not to lose her off his sight. Finally, Yusuf understood why this stray dog was so focused and determined to bring that bowl of food at that secluded place.

This animal rescuer came across the most heartwarming scene ever. The stray dog was a mommy of four sweet pups who were eagerly waiting for her to bring them a meal to munch on.

The babies were over the moon seeing their mom getting back from her adventure of finding food as they were all pretty hungry.

Yusuf was happy he got to put the scene on tape and he understood that something in him told him to follow that mommy dog who at that point was both satisfied and exhausted from walking that long.

After filling their tummies with some delicious food, the puppies proceeded playing around, having fun, and thanking their mother by giving her kisses and juicy licks.

This stray dog is one devoted and happy mother who’d do anything for the well-being of her little ones. The moment Yusuf was able to put on tape is a precious one and witnesses that nothing beats mother’s love.

You may spend endless hours teaching your child how to behave in public, but the reality is that at the end they would still act the way they want, or the way they see how you act.

Handling a situation of your kid throwing tantrum during your shopping trip isn’t that easy. If you opt to calm them down, it will likely make them scream even louder. But if you yell back, you are definitely going to be labeled as a bad parent by the onlookers.

The thing is that we as parents have to find a way of coping with our kids’ naughty behavior in public and use the methods that work best for them.

Kalynne Marie, a mother of a two-year-old child was having coffee at Starbucks when she spotted a father and his boy walk in the shop. That’s when the boy accidentally spilled a slushee all over the place. What caught Marie’s attention was the father’s reaction. She though that situation described what it really means to nail at parenting and she shared it on her Facebook page.

Here’s what she wrote:

It’s amazing how the father turned the ‘unpleasant’ situation in his favor and used it to teach his son a valuable life lesson. Now his child knows that making mistakes can happen to everyone, but when it does, he has to take a responsibility for it. And yes, asking for help when you need some isn’t something to be embarrassed of.

“As soon as the father started helping his son clean up, I opened the Notes app on my phone and wrote what he said word for word, because I was so inspired by how he was handling the situation,” she said.

Most times, when we are on our way to work we don’t really expect to come across someone who would change our life, but that’s exactly what happens every now and then.

Tegan Griffith, a woman from Wisconsin, was driving on a desolated country road when something strange caught her attention. A sweet puppy got out of a ditch. It was more than obvious that the poor soul was left there to die. But he was lucky enough to stumble upon someone kind-hearted like Tegan who took it with her at the office.

The cute puppy with floppy ears was malnourished and couldn’t wait to eat the cheese his new human friend had to offer. Tegan was more than happy to help the dog that she named Larry find his happiness.

Once she got home, Tegan called the authorities and some nearby shelters, hoping to learn who the cruel person who ditched sweet Larry might be. To her surprise, when she called one of the shelters and told them where she spotted the pup, they said, “Oh! You found NUMBER FOUR!”

Tegan knew there was something more behind Larry’s story and she was willing to find out what was going on so she paid the shelter a visit.

As it turned out, Larry wasn’t the only abandoned dog that day. His three sisters were previously spotted in the nearby area where Tegan found him.

Larry’s sisters were brought to the shelter the previous day, but he somehow got lost and spent the night out, all alone and freezing.

Tegan thought it would be great if the siblings are reunited again, so she took Larry and drove him to see his sisters.

The shelter staff were willing to treat the pups with the appropriate medical care until they are all cleaned from worms.

Once they fully recover, the siblings will be given for adoption.

As for Larry, he already found his forever home with the woman who saved him.

Dad Says the Last Goodbye to ‘Miracle’ Baby Weeks After Wife Dies Giving Birth

Many times, we do our best and try really hard for our life to take the turn we so much anticipate, but the reality is that we can never have complete control of the situations and the obstacles that come on our way.

Matthew and Lauren Accurso had been together for more than 20 years and had a wonderful life together. They had three daughters and were over the moon when they learned their fourth bundle of joy, a baby boy, was on the way.

Unfortunately, when Lauren, 37, went into labor on April 29, she suffered complications and lost her life.

The baby, Matthew Jr., was transferred to NICU where he fought for his life. He was “suffering from significant brain injury due to a prolonged period without oxygen during his birth.” His dad and his big sisters never left his side and prayed for the tiny human to survive.

At the beginning it looked like the baby would pull through, but then what everyone feared of happened.

Matthew Jr. had to be taken off life support only days after he was welcomed into this world. His dad wrote a letter that his friend Matt McCloghry shared on Facebook where he explained the reasons behind the decision and thanked everyone for their prayers and support.

“Today was one of the hardest days of my life. It will forever be etched in my brain. I sat in a room at Wolfsons hospital with 15 highly qualified medical professionals who all care deeply for our son Matthew. Unfortunately, the last thing I ever thought I would have to talk about as a father was now very real and happening,” Accurso wrote.

“For those of you who may not know, Matthew is suffering from significant brain injury due to a prolonged period without oxygen during his birth.”

“As a result, several serious complications related to cognitive function and development have become a reality for Matthew. At this time Matthew is being supported by a breathing machine requiring an airway tube, and also a feeding tube.”

“Based on the severity of his condition Matthew will not be able to sustain life without these medical devices in place, what we would typically describe as ‘life support’. Over the past few weeks doctors have attempted to wean him off the machines, but sadly the results have not been positive.”

“I wanted to whisk him away to our family condo on the beach and let the healing kisses of his sisters, grandmas and cousins cleanse his little body of all his infirmities, but as life sometimes does, I was brought back down to the reality that my only son, the sweet boy that my wife so diligently and lovingly carried for 9 months is in a situation that daddy could not fix.”

“The ONLY hope in all of this could only come from his heavenly daddy who placed breathe in Matthews lungs from the very beginning,” Accurso continued.

“TODAY, I was faced with something no father should ever have to face. The decision to place Matthew on endless life supporting contraptions and medications or allow God to carry him where He will.”

“So many thoughts have run through my head. ‘What more can I give Lord, you have my soul mate and now my son? That is all I can bear. Please shower your mercy over me. This weight is too great!’”

The short life of Matthew Jr. was a real miracle from God and Accurso had his reasons to believe that to be true.

“Some will hear our story and think, what an awful tragedy.

“Some will think, where is God when we need him?

“Some will say, see, miracles don’t happen.”

“But do you want the truth? Matthew is a living miracle. See, Matthew’s coming into the world was far from normal. The minute his mommy took her last breath Matthew was thrust from the most peaceful world one could ever know into a chaotic frenzy to save his mother and him,” he explained.

“Without an ounce of oxygen he made it in an ambulance, to an emergency room, through an emergency c-section and into a NICU. Matthew then defied all odds and opened his eyes, breathed on his own, pumped blood through his strong heart, moved his limbs without rigidity and even made coo noises.”

“His body slowly began to function, and he even gripped my finger when from what we were told, that should have been impossible.”

“Often times we consider things miracles when the miracle looks how we want it to look. What I’ve learned is that miracles are miracles whether we choose to see them or not. My miracle was having my soul mate by my side for almost 20 years and then being so blessed to give her 4 gorgeous babies,” Accurso wrote.

“My miracle is holding my son for as many precious moments as possible and when the time comes, lifting him up to his mommy so that she can hold him for the first time in paradise.”

The day he died, May 17, Matthew Jr. was surrounded by those who loved him so much.

A GoFundMe page had been set up to help the family during the sad and rough time they are going through.

Dog Who Never Saw Daylight Finally Rescued From Puppy Mill

After the Humane Society of the United States discovered a puppy mill in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, they knew they had to get all those animals out of that horrendous place.

Among the 130 dogs who were placed in tiny and filthy cages was one precious dog named B.B. She was in such a bad shape that at the time of her rescue she only weighted a couple pounds. B.B. only had three teeth left and it was impossible to determine her age.

That awful place turned B.B. and the rest of the inhabitants, among which 20 cats and three goats, into miserable animals who had no idea what it feels like to take a walk outside or run around the park.

“She was very tiny, and she looked like this helpless creature.” said Jessica Lauginiger, animal crimes manager at HSUS.

One thing was for sure, B.B. has never seen the daylight before, but luckily, it was all about to change.

“I put my hand up to the cage, and she’d come up and sniff a little bit. She was very hesitant for human attention, but she wanted it,” Jessica said.

Based on her condition, the rescuers could determine that B.B. was bred over and over again throughout the years.

But thanks to the love the kind people from HSUS were willing to give to her, B.B. was about to get a new chance for a better life. The first thing after being freed from the cruel breeders was seeing the sunlight. The poor thing had to squint to adjust her eyes.

All the animals who got to experience their freedom that day were brought at the Cabarrus Animal Hospital which is placed just 35 minutes north of the puppy mill.

Each and every one of them was exhausted and malnourished, but we do believe how all of them will turn into somebody’s healthy and happy pets.

B.B., however, was the dog that made the greatest impression on the rescuers. They simply fell in love with her and decided to make her the star of the annual campaign whose purpose is to collect money to help abandoned animals. They also use part of the money in the fight against puppy mills.

Luckily for B.B., she was adopted and will get to spend her life surrounded by love and kindness.

As for her age, the rescuers believe she’s between seven and ten years old.

B.B.’s new owner, Brenda Tortoreo is looking forward to spoiling her furry baby with all the luxuries she never had.

We are so very happy that B.B. got her happy ending, and we are forever thankful to the rescuers from HSUS and all the animal rights advocates from all around the world.

As we all know there is nothing sweeter than puppies, imagine the joy of having nine of them at home.

A Husky mommy gave birth to a litter of cute babies who spend their days playing and running around the house. But the best thing is that someone special joins their routine of having fun; their Husky daddy.

Dash got to see his offspring for the very first time after they turned six weeks old.

At first, he’s looking at them in awe and can’t believe they are all his babies. He loves seeing them go back and forth the place and enjoy themselves. But as observing isn’t really that fun, he decides to join in the game. It’s more than obvious how this proud dad loves the time he gets to spend around the naughty puppies.

Dash really wants for the pups to accept him as one of them and does his best for the babies to love him back and include him in their group. As he’s trying to bond with the little ones, the mommy, Kitana, walks around and makes sure no one gets hurt or something.

Once they run out of stamina from hanging around, they go to their mom to have some milk and take a rest.

This amazing family really is the sweetest out there.

11-year-old in critical condition after being hit while getting off school bus

Our thoughts and prayers are with 11-year-old Shianne Dean who is in critical condition after being hit by a car on May 3. The Minneapolis girl was exiting the school bus when the tragedy happened.

Shianne sustained severe injuries and a brain swelling and had undergone two surgeries. The person who hit her was a student at the Stonebridge World School. Police arrested him and said that at the time of the incident he was under influence.

“When he hit her, she flew up in the air and came back down and my baby hadn’t talked since,”LaTonya Williams, Shianne’s mother, told Fox 9. “She hasn’t opened her eyes since.”

Currently, authorities are investigating whether the bus driver used the stop arm while the students were getting off the bus.

“She was getting off the bus coming from school, from learning, and you struck a child,” Williams told KARE 11. “That’s not fair.”

Shianne’s mother is devastated but she believes her child is strong enough to pull through. She asks for those involved in her daughter’s accident to be brought to justice. She is certain the bus not only failed to use the stop arm, but the flashing lights too.

“She’s strong,” Williams said. “I said it ain’t time for her to go. Shianne is coming home.”

Monarch Bus Company said how the safety and the well-being of the students their company drives to and from school is their number one priority. They said they are praying for sweet Shianne to recover completely.

Maybe if the stop arm and the flashing lights were used, none of this would have happened. This should serve as a lesson for bus drivers to be more cautious when it comes to the safety of the students.

If a school bus has the red flashing lights on, other drivers have to stop, no matter which direction they are approaching it. It’s the law and it has to be respected in order for tragedies like this one to be avoided in the future.

A 12-week-old girl suddenly passes away from undetected heart condition

Gemma Williams and Jason Thomas were over the moon when their bundle of joy, sweet baby Lexi came to this world. They were looking forward to a long and happy life with their daughter, but then the most devastating thing happened. At just 12 weeks old, little Lexi lost her life and left her grieving parents wondering whether they could have done something to prevent the tragedy.

According to Wales Online, the unfortunate event took place back in March 2013 while the family was taking a shopping trip together. Lexi was in her stroller when she fell unconscious and unresponsive.

Gemma told Waled Online, “I went to touch Lexi’s face but she didn’t react. Then I realized something wasn’t right and I shouted for help.”

At the time her parents noticed she wasn’t responding, it was already way too late for the little life to be saved.

The ambulance was on their way when an onlooker with a medical training approached and offered help. He tried to resuscitate her, but Lexi didn’t respond.

The parents were shocked. They couldn’t believe how a perfectly healthy baby could die so suddenly. But the reality was completely different. The reason for Lexi’s death was a rare illness her family wasn’t aware she was suffering from.

When she was born, both Gemma and Lexi were discharged from the hospital in a great condition. The doctors failed to diagnose the baby with total anomalous pulmonary venous drainage, a rare congenital malformation that doesn’t allow enough oxygenated blood to be pumped around the body.

Now years after Lexi said the final goodbye, Gemma and Jason have a son whom they love unconditionally.

However, they are now urging hospitals and doctors to tests all newborn babies with the ‘pulse oximetry’ method that monitors the oxygen levels in the blood. This would help detect any potential heart conditions like the one Lexi suffered from.

How many times have you found yourself in a life-threatening situation while on the road because someone in the other vehicle didn’t pay attention or spoke on the phone during the ride? Or, maybe you were the one who didn’t respect the traffic laws and things got out of control. The thing is that most of us feel pretty confident while behind the wheel and we often fail to operate the vehicle the way we should. Although we believe we are great drivers, there are some things we do that may cause an accident.

Sargent John Perrine knows all too well that many people ‘forget’ or simply opt not to use one car feature that is of very high importance. That’s the turn signal. Now think about it. Have you ever just decided to turn your vehicle without using it? If yes, you are not alone. According to a survey conducted by SAE International “out of 12,000 vehicles, a staggering 48% of drivers don’t use their turn signals when changing lanes, with another 25% refusing to use them when making a turn.” They also provide another staggering information related to using, or in this case not using the turn signal which says, “A turn signal is used about once per mile; that translates to a staggering 300 billion neglected turn signal events per year.”

This is why they introduced the QR codes on the passengers’ paper and their e-tickets. This allows customers to have quick access to their scheduled flights and do changes with just a click of a button.

But, no matter how great this all sounds, people should also be aware of the hidden dangers, like becoming a potential victim of cyber criminals.

If you wonder how is that even possible, let us explain it to you. If you just throw your paper which has the QR code on it, it may lead criminals to valuable information about you, such as your name and surname, flight number and seat, and frequent flier info.

Now, if this doesn’t sound like a big deal, wait until you see how these information may be used against you. It turns out that having your QR code will allow the criminals to log-in as you on most of the airline websites and learn of your future flights. They can change or cancel your reservations and gain access to your credit card information. This really is something to be worried about.

Cyber criminals use different apps such as barcode scanners that help them learn everything about you. They simply scan your QR code and it reveals personal information of the paper owner.

These code scanning apps were created for the sake of the passengers, allowing them easy and quick info to their reservations, but hackers made most of them and use them for theft.

Never reveal your QR to anyone, and don’t just throw it away.

You never know who’s watching over your actions while at the airport as anyone can become a potential victim. Always keep your paper close to you or somewhere you know it’s safe.

Veteran dies of cancer just 5 hours after getting married to the love of his life

When the young soldier Tristan Laue joined the army, it was like a dream come true. He knew he wanted to be part of the military and keep his country and nation safe and was looking forward to a long and successful career. Sadly, things don’t always turn out as expected and our plans are often interrupted by unfortunate events that prevent us from living our life to the fullest.

In April 2018, Laue was medically discharged from the service. The reason was a devastating one. This young man who had a strong will to live and so many plans for his future was diagnosed with a rare form of a liver cancer.

But being brave and a fighter as he was, Laue never let this break his spirit. He knew he had so much to accomplish before the evil disease take its toll. He attended the University of Northern Iowa and was looking forward to good things in life, hoping he would be able to beat the cancer.

His girlfriend Tianna was the most supportive person ever. She never let Laue’s condition stand between their true love.

“Talking to my mom … she said, ‘Some people don’t get what you two had in the amount of time, like they’ll be together for years and still not have the same connection that you guys did,’” Tianna told KWWL.

Sadly, Tristan’s illness continued to advance relentlessly and that meant the couple’s forever was going to last very short.

No matter how much he tried and how hard he fought, Laue knew he was going to leave the world and was preparing for that last goodbye.

But before that happened, he had a dream that he really wanted to fulfill, and it was getting married to the love of his life. He proposed to Tianna, and she said yes.

Knowing how much it would mean for Laue, both his and Tianna’s family did their best and organized the ceremony in just 48 hours after he proposed.

The lovebirds exchanged their wedding vows in the backyard of Laue’s home and became Mr. and Mrs. Laue.

Unfortunately, only five hours later, young Tristan Laue died. He fought for nearly two years, but that stupid cancer won the battle.

“He’s the love of my life, and even like talking to my mom and everything, she said some people don’t get what you two had in the amount of time, like they’ll be together for years and still not have the same connection that you guys did”, Mrs. Laue said.

Laue was buried May 4 in Waverly, Iowa. His friends are doing an amazing thing for him. They set up a GoFoundMe page to raise money for a memorial in the brave soldier’s honor.

“All proceeds will be going directly to the memorial as well as any funds left over will be going to help his loved ones in any way they need!” the page says.

“Help us remember a great Chickasaw who brought laughter and kindness to us all!”

Mitch Laue, Tristan’s dad, said how Tianna was his son’s angel and now he can be hers. She really is a very special young woman who never left her loved one’s side.

This story is just a reminder that we should always tell people around us how much we love them and how much they mean to us.
