Saving the environment and helping the homeless stay warm during the coldest of days are two awesome causes, and Shelby Tellema, a senior at the Lakewood High School in Colorado, is fighting for both by doing something she loves and which makes her happy.
After watching a news report about a group of women creating blankets out of used plastic bags, she decided to try and make one herself. She found it enjoyable and was satisfied with the final result, especially because she knew she was helping with the plastic that could otherwise end on the streets, and at the same time, she could offer the blankets to the homeless people in need.

After sharing her brilliant idea with students from her school, many decided to join her in creating the comfortable and handmade blankets. They even got in touch with an organization which makes sure those durable blankets end up in the right hands.

Speaking of her creations, Shelby explained that more than 100 billion plastic bags are used every year, and while certain percentage gets recycled, a lot of plastic ends up in the oceans, endangering the water life.
“You take recycled plastic grocery bags or just any plastic bags and you cut them into strips, and you tie those strips together and that makes this thing called plarn, plastic bag yarn,” she said of the process of creation.

Shelby and her friends have their hands full, but they love what they are doing because they know they are making a change.
Dogs are family, and once we welcome them in, there is no letting go.
A woman named Aisha Nieves, from Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, had a pitbull-rottweiler mix named Kovu whom she loved unconditionally. One day, however, after a car struck into her house, Kovu got scared and ran away. Aisha noticed her dog was missing when she went home and he wasn’t there to greet her as he always did.
Needless to say, she was looking for him everywhere, but sadly, Kovu was nowhere to be seen.
Some weeks later, Aisha learned that her fur baby was found by the Lehigh County Humane Society. Unfortunately, since they had no idea who the dog belonged to, they put him up for adoption and one family took him in.
Aisha was heartbroken. She couldn’t stop thinking about Kovu, but it looked like there was nothing she could do to take him back.
Earlier this year, some two years after Kovu ran away, Aisha was scrolling the Humane Society’s adoption page when she stumbled upon a familiar face.
A dog that resembled Kovu caught her attention. Along with the photo, the name Ash was listed, but she knew it was Kovu. The only question was how did the poor animal end up at a shelter again. Aisha called the organization and she was told that the family which adopted Kovu surrendered him in because they were facing eviction and couldn’t take care of him any longer.
Of course, Aisha immediately visited the shelter but she was feeling nervous because she didn’t know if Kovu would remember her or not. Speaking to WFMZ, she said: “I was sweating. My hands started shaking. I was scared he wouldn’t remember me because it had been so long. I sat there, waiting for them to bring him out.”
The moment the two reunited was definitely one of the most heartwarming we have ever witnessed.
“He was screaming, trying to get away from the guy holding him and run to me,” Aisha said. “Then, he just jumped on me and we started kissing and hugging.”
“I told him, ‘Yeah, buddy, you’re going home. I’m so sorry this happened. Never again am I losing you.’”
Kovu is now home and he’s happier than ever.
Below is the video of the reunion. Make sure you grab some tissues before watching it.
How we treat the elderly and those in need of help speaks a lot of the kind of people we are, and judging from her incredibly heart-melting and selfless act, one Walmart worker could easily get the employee of the year award for going above and beyond for her customers.
This story was shared by a person who witnessed the employee helping an elderly man finding the perfect shoes. Namely, the man had troubles walking and was using a wheelchair cart so the woman picked a few pairs of shoes for him and then sat on the floor and helped him try on each pair until they found the perfect fit.

The person who witnessed the employee’s kindness thanked her for going an extra mile and asked if she could take a picture and share it online.
“My hands go up to this kind lady!! It just goes to show some people do still have love and compassion in their hearts!” she wrote along with the touching photo. “If you recognize this kind soul please feel free to tag her she deserves to be recognized!”
Small but meaningful acts like this one are what make this world a better place.

If you never stop pursuing your dreams, they eventually become reality, because the truth is that hard work and a little faith in yourself always pays off.
Gabe Sonnier, the principal at Port Barre Elementary in Port Barre, La., has quite a life story to share. Believe it or not, this man has been working at the school for around 30 years, but his first job position there was that of a janitor.
Source: CBS NEWS
So, what made him pursue a career in teaching? Well, according to Sonnier, back in 1985, then-Principal Westley Jones pulled him aside one day and told him that he sees something in him. Speaking to CBS News, Sonnier recalled that the exact words were: “‘I’d rather see you grading papers than picking them up.”
It was the first time that someone believed in Sonnier’s abilities, so that made him attend the university of Louisiana. After cleaning the classrooms, Sonnier would spend a lot of time studying in them. As a result, he earned a teaching degree, and the Master’s of Science and Education came shortly after.

After working as a teacher for six years, Sonnier was promoted to the principal of the elementary school.
He loves his job very much and is happy to be there for the students. He uses his life story to remind them that they should never give up on their dreams.

A story of a missing child got its happy ending after a journalist who was sent to cover the story heard the toddler cry “mamma.”
21-month-old Nicola Tanturli went missing from his home in Florence, Italy and was nowhere to be found. The two-day extensive search involved a huge number of people, more than 1,000, including police, fire, and airplane rescuers.
Nicola Tanturli was found near his home in Tuscany, Italy, when a TV journalist heard him crying “mamma” https://t.co/11U3kQhNzB
Journalist Giuseppe Di Tommaso from the RAI state television was supposed to cover the story. He, like everyone else, was hoping for a positive outcome and was extremely worried for the child. As he was walking through the forest where Nicola was suspected to have wandered, Giuseppe heard someone saying “mamma” from a distance.
At first, he wasn’t certain he was hearing right, so he decided to starts yelling “mamma” himself so that he could be sure it was a person speaking back.
“I started to yell, ‘Nicola’, to understand if it could be the child. I heard ‘mamma’,” he said, as reported by Sky News.
“I started to repeat the word ‘mamma’, because children of that age repeat words. When I intuited that it could be Nicola, I went down into the ravine.”
Nicola was on the other side of the ravine, in a hard-to-reach area, so Giuseppe was quick to alert two police officers of his discovery. The officers, however, weren’t convinced the noise could be coming from the missing toddler, but they went down the ravine to check. At that moment, Nicola’s little head pooped out of the grass. It was a moment to remember and a huge relief for the officers and the journalist.
“It was a tremendous joy to bring him back to his mother’s arms,” Commander Ciccarelli who reached Nicola told Sky News.
We are so happy the toddler is finally home with his family.
We have heard numerous stories of people having troubled relationship with their in-laws, but what the parents of one Redditor did left many in complete shock. They crossed the line big time and many believe they got what they deserved after their son cut them out of his life.
The Redditor started his story explaining that his mom and dad never liked his wife Sonya whom he met while she was working as a waitress at a restaurant. They were convinced she didn’t love their son and was after him for the money and for a permanent stay in the country. They didn’t even give him their blessings when he told them he was getting married.
Despite all that, his wife invited them over to see their grandson just two days after she gave birth. “My kindhearted wife didn’t think twice to welcome my parents into our lives,” the Reddit user said. “She let them meet our baby two days after being discharged from the hospital.”
They seemed happy to be spending time with the little guy, but one day, the person sharing the story heard his mom speaking to the baby and saying: “Aren’t you the cutest baby ever? I am so glad to confirm you are indeed my grandson.”
These words raised red flag, and soon after, the man learned that his mom and dad did a DNA test because they wanted to make sure the baby was indeed their biological grandson.

“I was speechless for a moment, and before I blew up from anger,” the man wrote, “I told dad to give me my son and they better leave before I lose whatever respect I had left for them.
“My mom was very apologetic and said it’s because they don’t trust my wife and that our son looks nothing like me.”
It wasn’t until two weeks later that he told his wife what his parents did. “She started crying and it broke my heart”, he wrote, especially because she has always been nice to them despite they never approved of their son’s relationship and marriage with her.
Further, the man’s post read: “When mom called to ask when they can visit again, I told them they are no longer welcome in our son’s life. Mom called my dad and I told him the same thing. He was livid, he called me ungrateful and cruel.
“He also said a few choice words about my wife which angered me more. I didn’t even hear the rest because I just hung up.”
As we all expected, the Redditors stood by the man’s side and said he had all the right to show his parents their place and cut ties with them.
“This right here, I don’t even know why it’s up for debate,” one person wrote. “Literally a no brainer. Like who they f**k are they to go behind your back and do that and still have the fkn audacity to bad mouth OP’s wife. I’m so mad and I don’t even know these people!”
I can’t even imagine what some parents are going through when they decide to leave their children behind. No one knows the exact reasons behind such actions, and I don’t think there is a justification for giving up a child, but who are we to judge.
A couple of days ago, U.S. Border Patrol agents stumbled upon the most unusual sight. Along a riverbank, they spotted two children, alone and unsupervised. The girl was around two years old, and the baby in the carrier was only 3 months old. Under the carrier there was a note saying that the kids were from Honduras and that they were siblings.
“At approximately noon, Border Patrol Riverine agents assigned to the Eagle Pass South Station were performing boat operations when they noticed an unusual color on the riverbank,” the Border Patrol said in a statement . “As agents investigated the item, they discovered two small children abandoned.
“A note under the infant safety carrier revealed the 2-year-old girl and 3-month-old boy, both nationals of Honduras, were siblings.”
No one really knows how much time have passed since they were abandoned until they were finally spotted. Luckily, neither of them needed medical help. They were both in good heath.
“A thorough search of the area was conducted, and no additional individuals were encountered,” the statement by the Border Patrol further said.
The toddler girl and infant boy were siblings, according to a note left in the infant’s baby carrier. No other people were found in the area. https://t.co/eOgjpDEHgI
Jacqueline Hernandez was abducted by her father, Pablo Hernandez, back in 2007. The girl hasn’t seen her mom up until this September when she finally succeeded in tracking her down.
Angelica Vences-Salgado was praying to God to bring her her daughter back, and after 14 long years, that wish of her was granted.
At the beginning, Angelica wasn’t sure if the girl who contacted her was really her daughter. The call came out of the blue. The young lady at the other side of the phone introduced herself as Jacqueline Hernandez and asked from Angelica to meet her at the Point of Entry at the border in Texas on September 10, as reported by The Clermont Police Department Detective Division.
According to a missing person report filled in by Angelica, Pablo kidnapped Jacqueline in 2007 after which a felony warrant for kidnapping was issued for him. Angelica also told the police back then how she suspected her daughter was taken to Mexico.
“[Officials] determined that the female was indeed Jacqueline Hernandez who was abducted from her mother in 2007. At approximately 4:55 p.m., Jacqueline, now 19 years old, was successfully reunited with her mother,” a news release by The Clermont Police Department said.
Both the mother and the daughter are over the moon to be reunited. They both said being apart for that long was very hard.
The Police Department said they are happy the family finally got a closure and added that the warrant for the girl’s father is still active.
“This is a prime example of what can be accomplished when multiple law enforcement agencies and their respective communities work cooperatively together and maintain open lines of communication.
“In this case, several agencies in different counties and states across the nation were able to create a force multiplier and aid in reuniting the victim with her mother after 14 years,” Clermont police Chief Charles Broadway said in a statement.
We are so happy these mother and daughter are together again. They now have a lifetime together to make up for the lost time.
I don’t think there is a single person who hasn’t heard of actor Tom Selleck. Best known for the role of private investigator Thomas Magnum in the series Magnum P.I., Tom’s versatility has stolen the hearts of many fans throughout the years.
Besides being very successful in the film industry, Tom is an incredibly devoted husband and a father. In 1987, he married Jillie Mack and they welcomed their daughter Hannah Margaret Selleck the following year. Today, Hannah is all grown up and she is a real beauty. This 32-year-old girl is sharing one of her dad’s passions; that for horses.
It’s not really surprising that horses are a huge part of Hanna’s life knowing that she has been around these creatures from the moment she was born. She was brought up on a 65-acre ranch in California where she would ride horses most of the days.
Hannah graduated from college, but horses were still her thing and she decided to ride professionally, signing up for competitions and winning many awards. Soon, she had her own horse breeding stable.
At one point in her life, she tried herself in modeling and was extremely good and successful at it, but she eventually turned to her horses again and they became her number one priority.
Tom has always supported Hannah and helped her pursue her dream. The two opened a boutique breeding stable in Hidden Valley and are spending their time together.
Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, Hannah said, “My dad encouraged it a lot. He liked the idea of developing the babies and developing young horses, so he was a big supporter of this idea.”
The kindness we offer to one another when we need it the most is what makes this world a better place.
Mike Alexander, a mechanic from Worcester, was at Kelley Square Pizza waiting for his order to be ready when he noticed an elderly man entering the place. “I’m at Kelley square pizza waiting for my pizza to cook,” Mike shared on Facebook, “and this little crippled old guy comes in. He’s leaning on this makeshift cane and wearing two coats. His hands are trembling and he’s wondering who is managing.”
It was obvious that the man was very hungry so he asked if there was any chance for him to get anything on discount or any food that would anyway be thrown away.
The place was about to close, but the manager, who was behind the counter, wouldn’t let the elderly man leave the place empty handed. But, instead of giving him the leftover food as he asked, he told one of the employees to prepare for the elderly gentleman anything his heart desired.

Witnessing the incredible kindness the manager offered, and sharing the story with his Facebook friends, Mike wrote: “I just want everyone to know that during these tough and crazy times where others in the world are out to hurt… there’s still a lot of good. There’s a lot of great. Start with yourselves. Open a door, pay for a coffee, pass on some food, donate to something, thank a vet, hang out with the elderly. Anything.”
A lot of the people who stumbled upon Mike’s post praised the manager’s kind deed.
“Nothing makes me happier than hearing about people being wonderful to other people. Thank you!” one person wrote.
“God bless all of you for your generosity in feeding this elderly man who couldn’t buy himself a warm meal. It’s a tough world we live in and so many people going on notice… You all have a big heart and a blessed soul. I praise those to the highest pedestal for the kindness you are doing. Thank you, God will reward you all,” another added.
There were also those who shared similar experiences. “I was in burger king a few days ago. It was cold outside. An elderly woman comes in, has about 60 cents and asked for a coffee with the senior discount. The lady looked homely but her coffee came out to 84 cents. I told the cashier [to] make it a large and give her back her change; it’s on me. The lady started to cry and thanked me and asked to give me a hug, so I did… I was waiting for my food when the manager came with her coffee plus some food. He told her to sit and enjoy your food and coffee,” a person named Gabrielle P. wrote.
We are so happy there are still people out there who would step in for someone in need without hesitating even a bit.
Little House on the Prairie is one of those series one can’t easily forget. It captured our hearts years ago and left an impact on everyone who has ever followed the adventures of one the most famous TV families there are, the Ingalls.
Believe it or not, Little House on the Prairie first aired in 1974 and hasn’t been off air ever since. At the moment, it is shown in over 100 countries throughout the world.

Many of the series’ actors had their breakthroughs with this show and became icons. Among those who made the series what it is today are late Michael Landon, who played one of the most iconic father roles in the history of film, that of Charles Ingalls, Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura Ingalls, Dean Butler, who starred as Almanzo Wilder, Melissa Sue Anderson in the role of Marry Ingalls, and a lot more.
Another capturing role, that of sweet Alicia Sanderson Edwards, was played by actress Kyle Richards. She was part of the series for 18 episodes and then, all of a sudden, her character disappeared.

That role, however, helped Richards boost her career. She moved on to other projects and she’s currently starring in the reality show TheReal Housewives of Beverly Hills. She’s been part of the show since 2010.
Speaking of the time she got the role in Little House on the Prairie, Richards told San Diego Entertainer that she had no idea what she was doing there at the casting.
“She [her mother] also felt that since her other two other daughters were doing this, she didn’t want me to feel left out,” Richards recalled. “I was scared when I was little because I was really painfully shy. At my first audition, the guy had on a white jacket, so at the time I thought I was going to a doctor (laughs) and I was so little, so I would get really scared. I am glad she did that because it did help me overcome my shyness.”

In an episode of Real Housewives, the actress spoke of the freedom she was given by her parents and the trust they had in her and her sisters.
“I was driving way before I had a license,” she said, as quoted by NickiSwift. “My mom was a rule breaker. She did not give a sh*t. If she wanted to let me drive to work at 13, she was gonna do it, and she trusted me.”
She has fond memories of the show and all the actors and actresses and says how she and her kids watch Little House on the Prairie every now and then together.

In 2016, she was the host of the all day marathon of the series hosted by NBC. Richards opened the event saying: “For parties on the prairie, you’d just boil your best dress, tuck your hair under a bonnet and pass around a bottle of sarsaparilla with a dirty rag to wipe the rim,” she joked. “Today, you need so much more – a theme, florist, catering truck, flowers, valet car attendants, gift bags and a charity auction – just to name a few.”
Richards has four children. Back in 1988, she married husband Guraish Aldjufrie with whom she has daughter Farrah Aldjufrie. The two separated in 1992, and in 1966, Richards married her second husband, Mauricio Umansky, with whom she has daughters Alexia, Sophia, and Portia.
Speaking of her first marriage which ended in divorce, Richards said: “Eventually I couldn’t do it and I left, and I felt so guilty,” adding that it wasn’t an easy decision to make.

Other series Richards was part of are ER and Days of Our Lives. “When I wanted to go back to work after having my children, one of my first auditions was for ER, a small part,” she recalled in an LA Times interview. “I went in and I got it, and then I said, ‘Well, I mean, I don’t want to take it because it’s such a small part.’ But I went in and I did it, and then I ended up being on there for almost 10 years.”
Speaking of Real Housewives, for which she was nominated for People’s Choice Awards for “Favorite Reality TV Star,” Richards told Celebrity Nine: “It’s kind of crazy. When I first signed up to do this show, I didn’t know if it would be a success or not. Next thing I know, it became a huge success and then we did a few seasons, and it became obviously five seasons, and next thing you know I’m here a decade later. I honestly can’t believe I’m still here.”

She’s not afraid to admit she has done plastic surgeries and spoke publicly on having her nose fixed twice. The 52-year-old actress looks stunning, don’t you agree?
Whatever we say about grandparents won’t be enough to describe their importance in the life of their grandchildren. “Grandparents, like heroes, are as necessary to a child’s growth as vitamins” Joyce Allston says, and we can’t agree more.
The reasons why these people are “the best kind of grownups” are endless. They are a bit parents, a bit teachers, and a bit friends, and those who got to grow up by their side are the luckiest among us.
Source: pxhere
Grandparents encourage happiness – This isn’t just something we say, but it is now a scientifically proven fact. According to a recent study published in The Gerontologist, the more children and grandparents spend time together, the more depressive symptoms in both groups are reduced.
Children find a sympathetic ear in their grandmas and grandpas – Often times, little kids tend to be stubborn and refuse to listen to what their parents say. In such cases, grandparents might be the perfect people to step in and calm things down by offering help. It’s their advice that kids will likely listen to when they get mad with their parents.
Source: Pezibear
They represent our identity – All those stories of how life was back in the day coming from our grandparents make us more aware of our history and traditions, something no human is complete without.
The benefits of the relationship between grandparents and grandchildren are mutual – Many researchers claim that spending time with their grandkids help the elderly live longer. On the other hand, the little ones growing up surrounded by the strongest form of love there is makes them happier, more fulfilled, and better people in general.
Source: Needpix
They provide a sense of stability – No matter how hard things get, we know that our grandparents will always be there to provide comfort, stability, and a shoulder to cry on.
They make best of friends – Always there for us, making sure we are happy and pleased with everything going on around us and not putting pressure of achieving certain things the way parents do at times, grandparents make the best friends one could ask for.
Source: Stannah International
Grandparents care for our needs – You know what they say, you can never leave your grandparents’ place with your stomach and heart empty. All they ever want is for us to be happy, healthy, and succeeding in life, with them always there to support our dreams.
“Grandparents are like stars. You don’t always see them, but you know they’re there.” If you still have yours in your life make sure you remind them how important they are to you and how much you love them.
Kids can be awesome. For one, their hearts are pure and they see the world with different eyes than us grown ups. They make friends easily and don’t hold grudges. Kids always say what they mean and follow their gut.
Below are ten incredibly cute stories involving some extraordinary youngsters.
1. Christian McPhilamy is an 8-year-old boy with a heart of gold. Around three years ago, he decided to let his blond hair grow pretty long. Well, boys with long hair can easily become subject of ridicule by their peers, but Christian didn’t care about that because he set a goal and was ready to go above and beyond to accomplish it.

2. On a flight with Alaskan Airlines, there was a passenger named Tim who was both deaf and blind. The staff had a hard time communicating with him, so they decided to ask if any of the rest of the passengers knew sign language. Luckily, 15-year-old Clara stepped in. She spent the entire flight communicating with Tom by drawing letters on his palm using her fingers. It was very obvious that Tim was extremely happy for that opportunity. He asked her a lot of questions. Clara definitely made his day.

4. One bright second-grader from York, Pennsylvania, named Christian Buck, found a way for every kid at his school to make friends in case they didn’t have any. Knowing that some of his peers had a hard time bonding with other students at the school, he invented “The Buddy Bench.” Shy and lonely students can sit on the bench and make friends with others who are feeling the same way.
Realizing how helpful this bench idea turned out to be, around 200 other schools implemented the project.

He got a jersey from his favorite soccer star Christian Pulisic. However, no matter how much he loved having that special piece of clothing, he knew he could do so much more out of it than keep it for himself. Namely, Alex decided to sell it for $3,200. money that he used to help Puerto Rico after the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria in 2018.

These kids’ incredible deeds of kindness warmed our hearts.
Comedian and one of the most influential and most loved “Saturday Night Live” cast members Norm Macdonald died Tuesday at the age of 61 after battling cancer for almost ten years. He was known for his sarcastic wit and was described by his fellow co-workers and friends as a “courageous comedy genius.”
Macdonald was born on October 17, 1959 in Quebec City, Canada. He was incredibly intelligent, which let him skip two grades entirely.
At the age of 25, he finally decided to pursue a career as a stand-up comedian, a profession that was always close to his heart. He started performing in clubs across Canada and soon managed to develop a deadpan style which set a standard for future generations of comics.
Source: Youtube/TeamCoco
In 1990, Macdonald competed on the early reality TV competition series Star Search hosted by Ed McMahon. Two years later, he got his first regular writing job on The Dennis Miller Show which led him to becoming a writer for the sitcom Roseanne during the 1992-1993 season.
In 1993, Macdonald achieved something every comedian dreams of; he landed the gig at NBC’s Saturday Night Live and shined in all his glory. “I loved it, we had a free rein to do whatever was funny. For a performer and writer, it’s one of the best places to be,” he recalled.
Macdonald was known for the impressions of Hollywood stars such as Burt Reynolds, Clint Eastwood and Quentin Tarantino. He anchored the fake news program Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live for three seasons and loved being part of SNL.
“I would love to stay at ‘SNL’ forever — but you can’t stay in the same place,” he told TV Guide in 1997. “People think you’re a loser.” However, although he somehow believed he would probably leave SNL at certain point in his life, he’s departure with it was a controversial one. Apparently, he got axed because he refused to go easy on O.J Simpson, something the president of NBC’s West Coast division, Don Ohlmeyer, who was Simpon’s friend, didn’t like.
“The president of the network didn’t like me, so he fired me from the [Weekend Update]. It never happened before – not in midseason. It’s very hard to get hired on [SNL], and it’s even harder to get fired,” Macdonald said. “[Don Ohlmeyer] is kind of a … a … idiot. He’s not a smart man.”
After Weekend Update, Macdonald starred in his own comedy series, Norm, from 1999 to 2001. He wrote and starred in the comedy film Dirty Work and voiced the character of Lucky the dog in all three sequels of Dr. Dolittle. He also hosted a Netflix programme called Norm Macdonald Has a Show in 2018, and much more.
The family announced Macdonald’s passing on September 14. One of his lifelong friends, Lori Jo Hoekstra, revealed that the comedian was battling leukemia for almost a decade but kept his battle private.
“He was most proud of his comedy,” Hoekstra told Deadline.
“He never wanted the diagnosis to affect the way the audience or any of his loved ones saw him. Norm was a pure comic. He once wrote that ‘a joke should catch someone by surprise, it should never pander.’ He certainly never pandered. Norm will be missed terribly.”

Many of Macdonald’s friends paid tribute to one of the most prominent comedians of our time. Jim Carrey wrote on Twitter: “My dear friend Norm MacDonald passed after a brave 10 year battle. He was one of our most precious gems. An honest and courageous comedy genius. I love him.”
The creator of Family Guy, Seth MacFarlane, wrote: “To so many people in comedy, me included, there was nobody funnier than Norm MacDonald. You always hoped he would hang around after the work was done, just so you could hear his stories and get a laugh. So hilarious and so generous with his personality. I’m gonna miss him.”
Former Daily Show host Jon Stewart wrote: “No one could make you break like Norm Macdonald. Hilarious and unique.”
Thank you for all the wonderful laughs, Norm Macdonald. Rest in peace.
Ever since Harry and Meghan tied the knot, the world went crazy about them. The stir they caused when they decided to step down from their royal duties made their lives even more appealing to the media and their names could be seen in a huge number of headlines. When they gave Oprah an interview in which they revealed a lot of things that made the Royals angry, Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the family became a hot topic.
During the interview, Meghan spoke of her mental struggles and the Firm’s inability to provide help. According to her, they cared more about the image of the family than her suicidal thoughts. Among the rest, the couple revealed that a senior royal was questioning the potential color of then-unborn son Archie’s skin.
The Queen issued a formal statement saying that the Palace would settle any issues privately and that Harry and Meghan will always be a much loved members of the family.
Well, the Sussexes seems to have settle in California pretty well. They have their hands full raising their two children and being involved in a number of charities. The couple also made contracts with both Netflix and Spotify and are quite busy running their Archewell foundation.
For all they have accomplished during the last couple of years, TIME magazine placed them on their list of 100 most influential people. And not only that, they are gracing the cover of it.
Other people who got on the list are U.S. gymnast Simone Biles, Apple CEO Tim Cook, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The short profile about the couple written by chef Jose Andres praised them for their work with the Archewell Foundation.
“Springing into action is not the easy choice for a young Duke and Duchess who have been blessed through birth and talent, and burned by fame,” Andres wrote. “It would be much safer to enjoy their good fortune and stay silent.
“Hand in hand with nonprofit partners, they take risks to help communities in need – offering mental-health support to Black women and girls in the US, and feeding those affected by natural disasters in India and the Caribbean.
“In a world where everyone has an opinion about people they don’t know, the Duke and Duchess have compassion for the people they don’t know. They don’t just opine. They run toward the struggle.”
The modeling industry is a representation of youth and beauty and certain standards unreachable for the “ordinary” women. But does one need to be young in order to be part of it and walk the runways? This 65-year-old model says no.
Yazemeenah Rossi is a stunning lady who entered the fashion world in her thirties and is still going strong. In fact, she defies age and is looking better than most 20 year old models. Rossi is celebrated as “the world’s most beautiful grandmother,” and once you see her, you’ll understand why she is given this title.
However, despite her long and successful career as a model, she admits that the modeling industry remains primarily for the young.
Speaking to Vice, she said: “There was a time, some years ago, when I started to think things would gradually begin to change and we’d start to see more older models, but that did not happen. I do believe that men and women have the same concerns about growing old, although men might talk less about it. Nobody likes to see their skin give in to gravity. At the same time, growing old is something beautiful because you become stronger with the passing of time.”
Asked how she manages to stay young, she says it’s all about how you see yourself as age is just a state of mind. “You need to have a playful, adventurous, curious spirit,” she adds.
One man’s action during a cold winter day warmed the hearts of the citizens of Englewood, Chicago.
Tony’s story is quite extraordinary. Namely, as he and his 5-year-old daughter were driving, they spotted a 7-year-old girl wearing a onesie and carrying a laptop. Despite the extremely low temperatures and the freezing weather, the girl wasn’t wearing any shoes. It was Tony’s daughter who first noticed the girl. When she said “Daddy look at the little girl,” Tony couldn’t believe his eyes.
He couldn’t stop wondering what a girl that young was doing outside all by herself. He immediately stopped the car and rushed to the girl. Her feet were ice cold and it was obvious she was out for a longer period of time.
“She was just wearing a onesie, her feet were very cold, with a laptop in her hand,” Tony said. “I took my coat off, picked her up and called 911.”
While he was waiting for the police to arrive, he started a live video on Facebook asking if anyone knew who the girl might be.
He later said that the girl told him how she left the house alone and didn’t want to get back to her mom and dad, as reported by ABC7 Chicago.
“When I put her in the car, it brought tears to my eyes,” Tony said. “She just looked at me and said, ‘Mr. Sir, I love you.’ And I said, ‘I love you too.’”
Once media outlets picked the story up, the community hailed Tony a hero. “We want to acknowledge, salute and honor you for being an angel and a hero, not only in Englewood. You saved a baby’s life,” 16th Ward Alderman Stephanie Coleman said, as reported by ABC 7 Chicago.
“No one saw her walking? I don’t understand that,” Tony said. “When I was grabbing her foot, it’s not like she was outside for five minutes. Her feet were, I mean, like icicles. She was just crying and crying and crying.”
As for now, the young girl has been placed with members of the extended family and she won’t be returning to her mom and dad until the investigation is over.
Those who serve in the military know the heartache of not being able to be by their family’s side during holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions. However, no matter how hard it is for them to be separated from their loved ones, they know they make that sacrifice for their country and its people.
We would say that the best part of serving overseas is coming home and reuniting with the friends and family who pray for the soldiers’ safe return.
One of our national heroes, Army Staff Sgt. Andy Patterson, returned home after being deployed in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for one long year. This was his third deployment, which means he spent a long time away from home and didn’t have the chance to see his three children grow up.
However, now that he was finally home, he and his wife Andrea decided to surprise each of their kids with an individual visit at school.
Sharing the incredibly sweet and touching video of the three separate reunions with their father, the Killeen Independent School District wrote “Tissue Alert!” and added: “Staff Sgt. Andy Patterson and his wife Andrea surprised their three children in a trio of individual reunions in the hallways at Brookhaven Elementary School.
“Following a pair of deployments with a brief break between, the pair wanted to make this return special. It was!”
Speaking to Killeen ISD, Patterson said: “For me, it meant a lot. I could tell by their reactions it meant a lot to them.”
The family said that although this wasn’t the first time for Patterson to be away from home for so long, it’s still as hard as the first time.
“If anything it gets harder watching your children grow up and knowing that you’re missing out on a majority of their life when you’re gone during that time period,” he said.
Mom Andrea said she is as excited as her kids to have her husband home. “It feels good because they need their dad, you know, and, you know, as a military family we know the sacrifices we have to make as a whole but doesn’t change the fact that we’re human and we just want to be together too,” she said.
We hope they will have a fun time and will use every second of every day that they are together to make the most of their father’s presence.
Thank you for your service, Sgt. Andy Patterson, we are happy you got home safely.
One thing that most kids love playing with are the legos. A great number of beautiful creations can be made using these tiny interlocking plastic bricks, all you need is a creative mind and some artistic skills, pretty much like those possessed by a young boy named Brynjar Karl Birgisson.
In the case of Brynjar, these bricks not only helped him create the largest replica of the Titanic when he was just 10 years old, but also helped him with his autism and his inability to put words together.
According to him, he was able to speak until the age of three, and then out of the blue, he had a hard time producing sentences. Speaking to My Autistic X Factor, this clever boy said: “Suddenly, I couldn’t say all the things I wanted to say. All the words I had learned disappeared into a fog […] I changed from a happy boy into an unhappy and lonely boy. I felt behind, trapped in my fog…I wasn’t able to put words together.”
At the age of 5, Brynjar was diagnosed with autism. From words, he turned to pictures which helped him learn. Over time, sweet Brynjar developed passion for legos and ships, and that resulted in an incredible creation of the largest Titanic replica ever. “It took 11 months and 700 hours to build my 6.5 meter (21.3 feet) long dream ship, using 56,000 bricks,” he said.
He had the support from his family, especially his grandfather, and all the people who helped him buy the bricks through crowdfunding.
The Titanic Brynjar built from legos took him to a lot of places, among which Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Germany, as well the U.S., where he could show off with his creation.
“I was totally unable to communicate when I started the project and now I’m standing on stage and giving interviews,” Brynjar said as per The Guardian newspaper.
“It has given me confidence. When I started the building process I had a person helping me in school in every step that I took, but today, I’m studying without any support. I have had the opportunity to travel and explore and meet wonderful people.”
Listen to Brynjar proudly speaking of the largest replica of Titanic made out of lego bricks.
With everlasting hits like It’s Not Unusual, She’s a Lady, Sexbomb and Delilah, among the many, it’s not surprising that Sir Tom Jones’ career spans over six decades.
Being one of the greatest pop singers of all time, Sir Jones’ music is popular today as it was back in the day when he started on singing.
Born Thomas John Woodward on June 7, 1940, in Whales, Sir Jones has always been in love with music. Ever since he was a young boy, he was part of the church choir and sang during every family gathering.

Sir Jones married Linda, the love of his life, when he was just 17 years old. A month after they tied the knot, the pair welcomed their son Mark into their lives. Sir Jones and Linda had been together for 59 years, until her passing in 2016.
Speaking of the loss, Sir Jones said in an interview with This Morning that he would “never love again.” Wanting to fulfill his wife’s wish to get back to her roots, Sir Jones sold his Bel Air mansion after her death and moved to England.
He had a hard time getting back to singing long after Linda said her final goodbye.

“When my wife passed away, I didn’t think I could sing,” Sir Jones told Express UK. “When you’re emotional, you can’t sing, your voice closes up.
“There are certain songs I wouldn’t do. But you have to try and get things in the right perspective. Feeling emotional; use it to your advantage and put it into the song. It took me a while,” he continued. “Took me a few months to try and see if I could sing. I got some of my musicians around and tried a few songs. But it was very emotional.”
When it comes to his career, Sir Jones became a frontman of the local band Tommy Scott and the Senators at the age of 23. He played the drums and the guitar, but soon after, he figured out that singing was his thing.
When he started his solo career, his agent, Gordon Mills, made him change his name to Tom Jones as he believed it was a better stage name than his real one. Pretty much, like all artists do.

After six months of recording demos, Mills showed Sir Jones a song he had written for then young artist Sandie Shaw. Sir Jones loved the piece and asked to record it. Mills decided he would give the song to Shaw who first heard it as a demo performed by Sir Jones. She loved how it sounded so much that she said the person who sang it should have it. That is how Sir Jones ended up with the legendary It’s Not Unusual which became a top 10-hit in the US.

Sir Jones performed in the legendary Flamingo casino in Las Vegas when he first met Elvis Presley. He recalled the meeting and said how the King recognized him the moment he saw him.
“So he gets out of this helicopter and starts walking towards me. I had a record out at the time, my third single called With These Hands and Elvis is suddenly walking towards me and he’s singing ‘With these hands, I will cling to you,’” Tom Jones said on The Graham Norton Show.
“And I thought ‘My God! If the boys back home could see me now!’ Elvis said to me, ‘How the hell do you sing like that?’”
Today, Sir Jones, who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth for his services to music in 2016, is still very active and doesn’t plan to stop working any time soon. He recently revealed what helps him remain in shape and although some may find it strange, it’s not unusual for the singer. Namely, as he has experienced back pain for many years, he decided to try this technique called “inversion therapy” during which he dangles upside down. According to the singer, it helps him with his blood circulation and eases the pressure on his spine.

“In 2030 I am going to be 90 years old,” he told The Sun. “I hang upside down. You know on one of those frames. It’s great. You put your feet in the thing and you flip and you hang.”
Recently, Sir Jones received two shots of the vaccine against COVID-19.
We are so happy one of our favorite singers of all time is doing strong. We only wish him the best in the years to come.
The day started as any other for a woman from Montclare, Chicago, who was talking a walk. Near an ally, she noticed a pile of trash. She took a closer look and a discarded dresser caught her attention. She taught she could use the handles so she stopped to remove them. In the next moment, she was left in complete disbelief. There, in the bottom drawer, there was a baby.
As per NBC Chicago, the woman who wanted to remain anonymous said she believed someone placed the baby there in the morning.
“I put my finger on the little foot, too just to see he was moving,” she said.

The little one was extremely lucky the woman spotted him just in time as a pick up truck was on its way to collect the trash that morning.
“It’s a good thing somebody came by. It’s hot out there, it could’ve ended differently, but it’s all seemingly worked out,” Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford told the Chicago Tribune.
The police reported that the baby boy was taken to a hospital and is doing fine. He’s perfectly healthy. However, they are now trying to track down the person who left him in the trash and are asking the public to come forward with any information valuable for the investigation.
They also want to remind the public that under the Illinois’ Safe Heaven, parents who don’t want to keep their 30-day-old or younger infants can safely surrender them to a hospital, police station, fire station, or emergency medical facility without facing any legal charges.
Hayden Howard, the owner of a beautiful English Mastiff named Jackson, was left puzzled when she noticed strange marks on the dog’s body. After a thorough examination, the only logical explanation she could come up with was that her baby was covered in bug bites.
“I wasn’t sure what (the holes) were, so I googled it, and it said something about botfly,” Howard remarked.
However, in order to be sure, she took Jackson to the vet. There, she learned the horrific truth. The poor dog was shot with a BB gun 27 times. The culprit shot Jackson while he was staying in his fenced backyard, 400 Vehslage Road.

The vet was able to successfully extract 20 BB pellets and 7 gunshot bullets out of Jackson’s body. He said the shooting took place from a close range and Jackson was lucky he survived the gruesome attack.

“It just baffles me that someone would want to do that to him. He’s not a vicious dog. He’s lovable and just lays there in the backyard. No one has ever come to me with a problem about him. He’s always been shy, even around me,” Howard said.
“He had one under his eyelid, and he could have been blinded,” she recalled tearfully.
Jackson was given a handful of medications to help him with the injuries and the pain.

Howard offered a $500 reward for any information that could lead to the horrible person who hurt her baby.
Shortly after the incident, the police arrested 44-year-old Tim Woodard for drug possessions of meth, paraphernalia and marijuana. They also linked him to the shooting of Jackson.
We are so glad the man responsible of hurting Jackson will get his punishment.

Witnessing young people doing the right thing when given the chance is an assurance that we are leaving this planet in safe hands. Although societies perceive youngsters as reckless and sometimes selfish, that is not always the case. Many of these people are raised right and they are doing everything in their power to show the world that they are honest human beings, just like the guy from this story.
An elderly man was standing near the escalator at the The Holyoke Mall at Ingleside, Massachusetts, hesitating whether to use it or not. A group of people were waiting for him to start moving, but the man just stood there. It was then when a young man approached closer and offered a helping hand. “Can I help you, sir?” he could be heard asking as he reached his arm towards the elderly gentleman.
The man accepted the arm and explained that he got stuck on an escalator once and he was now afraid to use it.

Everyone remained patient as the two people who belonged to different generations were getting down.
An onlooker who witnessed the heart-melting scene decided to snap a picture which she later shared online. Along with the photo and the story behind it, the woman wrote: “In about an hour, the evening news will air and we’ll be reminded of division, race wars, political mud-slinging, shootings and other heartaches. But today, violence, race, age, politics and other social lines were blurred and one person simply helped another. I wanted to hug both of them.”
Many were touched by the young man’s act of kindness and couldn’t help by praise him for his heart of gold.

Social networking sites are the perfect place for meeting new people and making new friends, but at the same time, they are a way for some cruel individuals who are hiding behind the computer screens to post mean and offensive comments because of other people’s beliefs, opinions, and appearance.
20-year-old Inma Franco from Extremadura, Spain, has a condition known as Saethre-Chotzen syndrome which causes a premature fusing of the skull and affects the shape of the face and the head. As a result, Inma is a target of bullies who comment on her looks and make fun of her.
But this brave young girl won’t let anyone affect her self-confidence. Instead, she’s raising her voice and serves as an inspiration for many young people who are victims of online bullying.
Inma decided to post a video on TikTok in which she speaks of her condition and on how the mean comments affect her life.
“You do not know what it is to go down the street and they laugh at you for your face, for everything,” she says in tears.
“Those small comments that seem harmless are the ones that hurt the most. You do not know the amount of videos that I never got to upload to YouTube due to insecurities.”
She already has 25.000 followers on YouTube and now her TikTok video has been seen over 1 million times. In it she also says: “The most important thing to be happy is to love yourself as it is with all its defects and insecurities. Thank you ♥ ️ and please, before commenting, think carefully about what you are going to say because you do not know how your comment may affect that person.”
A huge number of people took their time to offer their support, among which famous Spanish actor and writer Brays Efe who wrote: “Inma, don’t let anyone tell you that they are defects, something defective is something that does not work. Beauty is an opinion and here what matters is what you think. And the scars are not defects , they are medals that you have fought and won. I admire you.”
Actor Victor Clavijo reffered to Inma as to a “strong, brave, sensitive and intelligent woman,” according to Spain’s ABC News.
