Harry and Meghan ‘stunned’ by King Charles’ ‘cruel’ new decision

Prince Harry’s all-tell memoir Spare caused quite a stir. People still can’t stop talking about the things he revealed in his long-awaited book. And as the members of the Firm haven’t commented on it publicly, it is obvious they are far from happy with the revelations as well as the accusations brought up by the Prince.

Among those who received their fair share of criticism by Harry have been his father, King Charles, and his stepmother Camilla.

When William and Harry met Camilla fro the first time, William reportedly described the meeting as “awkward and tense.”

“I think the relationship between them all is warm now but if I’m honest, it wasn’t then. I think they found it hard,” a palace source told royal biographer Penny Junor, author of Prince William: Born to be King. “To be fair to Camilla, she never tried to be mummy but she was the ‘other woman’ and she was there and taking daddy’s time.”

Other experts claimed that initially, Harry wasn’t fond of Camilla either.

In her book The Palace Papers, royal author Tina Brown wrote that Harry “unnerved” Camilla.

“When the younger boy was eventually prevailed upon to be in the presence of Mrs Parker Bowles, he unnerved her with long silences and smouldering, resentful stares,” she quoted a courtier saying.

And now, Camilla wasn’t spared in Spare either.

Harry revealed in his memoir that he and his brother had pleaded with their father not to marry Camilla.

“Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings,” Harry wrote in Spare. “We recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved.”

He even wrote that he had asked himself if Camilla would be “just as cruel to him as all the wicked stepmothers in storybooks,” adding that William “long harbored suspicions about the Other Woman.”

Previously, in the interviews he gave to the media, Harry accused his stepmother of leaking stories to the British media in an attempt to fix her own public image. Further, he said that the media portrayed her as a ‘villain’ because they believed she was to be blamed for Charles and Diana’s collapsed marriage.

“That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press. And there was open willingness on both sides to trade of information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen Consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that,” Harry said.

“If you are led to believe, as a member of the family, that being on the front page, having positive headlines, positive stories written about you, is going to improve your reputation or increase the chances of you being accepted as monarch by the British public, then that’s what you’re gonna do.”

In an interview with Good Morning America, Harry revealed that he hasn’t spoken with his father’s wife for a very long time.

“I love every member of my family, despite the differences, so when I see her, we’re perfectly pleasant with each other,” he said.

“She’s my stepmother. I don’t look at her as an evil stepmother. I see someone who married into this institution and has done everything that she can to improve her own reputation and her own image, for her own sake.”

According to royal expert Angela Levin, Camilla feels the same and she isn’t much interested in a relationship with Harry either.

“The Duchess always felt quite wary of Harry and used to see him out of the corner of her eye looking at her in a long and cold way. She found it rather unnerving. Otherwise, they got on quite well,” Levin writes in her new book Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort.

Shortly after tying the knot, Harry and Meghan were given a new place to call home, Frogmore Cottage, which is on the Windsor Cottage grounds. The place has been a royal residence ever since 1792 and many members of the royalty called it home over the years, among them Queen Charlotte, wife of George III, and the Duchess of Kent. Queen Victoria’s mother was laid to rest in a mausoleum on its grounds.

When Harry and Meghan became the new residents of Frogmore Cottage, it was reported that they spent around $3 million to renovate it, and once they stepped down from their royal duties, it still remained their place that they could use whenever visiting Britain.

But now, as Harry’s book made many angry, especially King Charles, who hasn’t publicly commented his son’s memoir, the couple have reportedly been evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

The news has been confirmed by Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson. “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage,” the spokesperson told Vanity Fair.

Allegedly, the residence has been offered to Prince Andrew instead, who has been living in a 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park since 2003.

As per The Sun, Andrew is “resisting” the King’s wish for him to move into Frogmore Cottage. “This surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK,” a royal source told the newspaper.

Patrick van Katwijk/Getty Images

This decision came just a day after Spare was released and Harry and Meghan are reportedly “stunned” by the eviction.

“Harry and Meghan have until early summer to vacate,” a source told Scobie, reporting for Yahoo. “Initially, they were given just weeks, but now they have at least until after the coronation.”

“It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment,” a friend of Harry and Meghan’s added. “It’s like [the family] wants to cut them out of the picture for good.”

Royal author and expert Tom Bower commented on King Charles’ decision and told Page Six, “Harry and Meghan provoked him [King Charles] with Harry’s disgraceful book and the interviews he gave,” adding: “I mean, what did he expect?” the author continued. “Harry wanted the royal family to come on bended knee begging for forgiveness, and he’s completely crossed the spectrum, he’s in the mad wilderness of deranged victimhood.”

He added that the Sussexes are likely not welcomed to King Charles’ coronation.

Tab Hunter had a secret romance with a famous actor before he came out and married Allan Glaser

Tab Hunter was a Hollywood heartthrob whose career skyrocketed after he landed a role in the 1955’s Battle Cry. He was adored by millions and his stunning looks charmed many.

When he was 15, he lied about his age so that he could get enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he earned the nickname Hollywood because of his infatuation with movies. At 17, Hunter was discovered by legendary agent Henry Willson who had previously found male superstars like Robert Wagner and Rock Hudson.

“Acting skill was secondary to chiseled features and a fine physique,” Hunter revealed in his book Tab Hunter Confidential.

And he was so right, because it was mostly his ”Malibu beach boy looks” that helped him become part of Hollywood in the first place. ”I was sort of a product of. I was thrown into it, and kind of wondered where does one serve one’s apprenticeship. I was one of those people who had to learn while doing. I learned on the job,” he said.

As his career progressed and more and more people fell for his looks and acting, Hunter dealt with personal issues. In fact, he was a homosexual, but speaking about it openly in then-controversial America was not an option. He knew that if he revealed his sexuality, his career would suffer. Sadly, he was forced to pursue his relationships in the shadows and out of the public eye.

While Hunter dated fellow star Anthony Perkins, people started talking around.

Speaking of their relationship, the actor said, ”We just chatted and got on and soon we were starting to see each other But it was difficult; we couldn’t just go out for dinner together or go see a movie because we were both getting so popular back then. I didn’t talk about my personal life to anyone back then at all. The way I saw it it was nobody’s damn business.”

At one point, Hunter was told that someone was intending to write a book about him, and he was certain things about his sexuality would be revealed in there so he finally decided to tell the truth himself. He explained to The Hollywood Reporter that it was best to “get it from the horse’s mouth.”

Before he came out of the closet, Hunter was believed to be dating his Burning Hills costar, Natalie Wood. Warner Bros, the studio that offered Hunter a seven-year contract, placed the two young stars together. They pretended to be dating and attended numerous award shows and ceremonies together. At one point, he was also very close to star Debbie Reynolds. As everyone believed he was a straight man, Hunter received endless amounts of mail from female fans.

He eventually married the man he was in love with for a long time, Allan Glaser. The two lived a quiet life away from the public eye in a small cottage in a town on the outskirts of Santa Barbara.

Tab Hunter passed away at 86 from a heart attack after a blood clot entered his lungs. He has had quite a career.

Tina Turner’s 2nd husband sacrificed his organ to save her life because he ‘didn’t want another woman’

With a career spanning over five decades, Tina Turner is one of the best-selling recording artists. She was born Anna Mae Bullock and her parents divorced when she was very young leaving her and her sister with their grandmother. When she turned 19, Tina moved in with her mother and that’s when her talent got noticed.

Tina rose to fame when she started performing with her then-husband Ike Turner before she started a solo career.

Her energetic stage presence and her powerful vocal kept her on the top for many years. Tina’s songs “Private Dancer,” “What’s Love Got To Do,” “Proud Mary,” and many more are still huge hits and part of many generations’ lives.

She retired from singing some years ago and has faced a series of health challenges from 2013 to 2018. Today, however, she’s feeling fine and is happy to be alive.

Tina had a stroke after which she struggled to use her right hand. She also lost the ability to speak shortly, but managed to regain her strength. But just after she thought she was doing great, she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer followed by kidney failure. Not many were familiar with the super-star’s struggles as she opened up about it in her book, Tina Turner: My Love Story, published two years ago.

“I began to think about death. If my kidneys were going, and it was time for me to die, I could accept that. It was OK. When it’s time, it’s really time. I didn’t mind the thought of dying, but I was concerned about how I would go,” she wrote.

After the successful surgery during which part of her colon was removed, she had a kidney transplant. Her donor was her husband Erwin Bach.

“I know that my medical adventure is far from over,” Turner wrote. “But I’m still here — we’re still here, closer than we ever imagined. I can look back and understand why my karma was the way it was. Good came out of bad. Joy came out of pain. And I have never been so completely happy as I am today.”

Tina and Erwin’s love story has been a beautiful one.

Following her marriage with her first husband Ike, who has been abusive and made her life a living hell, she didn’t believe in love, but meeting Erwin changed it all.

Speaking of their first encounter, the singer said, “He had the prettiest face. You could not miss it. My heart went bu-bum. It means that a soul has met. My hands were shaking. And Roger said to me, ‘Tina, you ride with Erwin,’ and I wanted to go, ‘Yay!’” At the time, he was a 30-year-old music executive for EMI.

Later on, Turner invited him to visit her to the States and that’s when she knew he was the one. “It’s love. It’s something we both have for each other. I always refer to it as an electrical charge. I still have it. Even though when I left her two hours ago, I still have that feeling. It’s in my heart. I feel very warm about this,” he said of their relationship.

Erwin proposed Turner on her 59th birthday. She didn’t say ‘yes’ right away because she had already had a bad experience with marriage.

“I said, ‘I don’t have an answer.’ It wasn’t yes, it wasn’t no. Marriage says ownership. I didn’t want that ‘my’ anything, anymore. I had enough of that.”

They eventually tied the knot. The wedding ceremony was held at their luxurious estate in Switzerland and the singer wore a fabulous dress by Giorgio Armani, embellished with Swarovski crystals.

When she was diagnosed with kidney cancer, it was Erwin who gave her the biggest support and made the ultimate sacrifice for her.

“He said he didn’t want another woman, or another life. Then he shocked me. He said he wanted to give me one of his kidneys”, she remarked.

Her fans wished her well and were eager to learn how she was doing after she managed to overcome the number of health issues, so she treated them with a video and said, “Yes, I made it, I look great. I feel good. I’ve gone through some very serious sicknesses that I’m overcoming, so it’s like having a second chance at life.”

In the recent feature-length documentary, simply titled “Tina,” the singer spoke of her life again and said how she suffers from PTSD from the abuse she experienced by her former husband Ike Turner. She also said that she wants to enter the third and final chapter of her life out of the spotlight and fans saw it as a farewell.

We wish Tina all the best in the years to come and we hope she won’t experience any more health issues.

Inside Roseanne Barr’s weight loss transformation: The 70-year-old comedian moved to a farm and shed 80 lbs

Roseanne Barr has long been dubbed one of America’s funniest and most controversial comedians.

Her ability to make people laugh made her the second highest-paid female actress in the industry during the last two seasons of the hit show Roseanne.

She started her career as a comedian after she left home and went to Colorado where she worked a number of poorly paid jobs. Eventually, she ended up working as a cocktail waitress. She practiced her comedy with the customers who advised her to try herself as a comedian.

”My customers encouraged me to go down to this comedy club. I didn’t know it was there. So I went down there and watched everybody,” Barr told Hawaii Tribune-Herald.

Getty Images

During a performance at the famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles, Barr attracted the attention of comedy producer George Schlatter which led to gigs on The Tonight Show in 1985, and Late Night with David Letterman in 1986.

That was a start of a very successful career. Barr was soon dubbed ”Domestic Goddess” and her working-class edge humor made her a famous name in the showbiz.

Towards the end of Roseanne, Barr weighted at her heaviest. Reaching 350 pounds prompted her to undergo weight loss surgery. At that point, she lost 80 pounds but she still needed to follow a strict diet. Barr was left with loose skin that she had to tackle with the help of a tummy tuck and when people publicly commented on her new trimmer figure, she was quick to point out, “I had my entire digestive system removed, so I should look thinner!”

Along with the gastric bypass surgery, Barr had her nose reshaped. During that 2003 interview with the publication, she admitted wanting more procedures but she feared that something could possibly go wrong because of her age. The actress admitted that she gained a little weight again, telling WebMD in 2006 that she’s “fat” but feels “great.”

Then, in 2014, she appeared at an NBC press event and talked about how she had recently lost more weight, saying, “I’m just doing the things you’re supposed to do…you know, moving more, and eating less.”

“I went on a new diet. It’s radical and revolutionary. It’s where you eat less and move more—you know, just simple,” she told Today. “I just want to keep getting healthy and let go of excess baggage to carry around, so I’m lighter on my feet and in my life.”

Barr also turned to gardening. In an interview with Oprah, she revealed, “I’m a farmer now, and it’s fantastic. My goal is to be totally self-sufficient and grow everything I eat.”

Roseanne Barr’s fans are supportive and encourage her journey towards a healthy life-style. Well, at least those who believe she shouldn’t be loosing any more weight.

Stephen Hawking’s daughter Lucy is all grown up – she is keeping his legacy alive in the most beautiful way

Stephen Hawking was a visionary physicist and one of the most renowned scientists of modern times. This British scientist was particularly famed for his work with black holes and relativity, and his book, A Brief History of Time, which spent four years at the top of the Sunday Times best-seller list and was sold in millions of copies translated into 40 languages, brought him to stardom.

The book gave an overview of space and time, as well as the future and the existence of God. Hawking went on to write more books.

While he was a teenager, he wasn’t the best in his class. In fact, he was third from the bottom, but during the last two years of school, he was dubbed ‘Einstein’ by his classmates. Being the son of scientists, it didn’t come as a surprise that young Hawking developed love for science himself.

PRINCETON, NJ – OCTOBER 10: Cosmologist Stephen Hawking on October 10, 1979 in Princeton, New Jersey. (Photo by Santi Visalli/Getty Images)

At one point in his life, when he was still a teenager, he fell for mathematics, but his father wasn’t happy about it. “He thought there wouldn’t be any jobs for mathematicians except as teachers. He made me do the chemistry and only a small amount of mathematics. I’m now a professor of mathematics, but I have not had any formal instruction in mathematics since I left St Albans school aged 17,” Hawking said in 2013.

He got a first in Physics from Oxford, and started a PhD at Cambridge.

At the age of 21, Hawkins was diagnosed with ALS and that changed his life forever.

“When you are faced with the possibility of an early death, it makes you realize that life is worth living and that there are lots of things you want to do,” Hawking told New York Times.

“In my last year at Oxford, I noticed I was getting increasingly clumsy. I went to the doctor after falling down some stairs, but all he said was, ‘Lay off the beer,’” but he knew the beer wasn’t the problem.

Shutterstock

After an incident on a lake when he fell out skating and wasn’t able to stand up, his mother urged him to go to the hospital. He then underwent a number of tests over the course of two weeks.

“They took a muscle sample from my arm, stuck electrodes into me, and then injected some radio-opaque fluid into my spine and with X-rays watched it go up and down as they tilted the bed. After all that, they didn’t tell me what I had, except that it was not multiple sclerosis and that I was an atypical case,” he recalled.

“I gathered, however, that they expected it to get worse, and there was nothing they could do except give me vitamins, though I could see they didn’t expect them to have much effect. I didn’t ask for more details because they obviously had nothing good to tell me.”

Once they determined he suffered from ALS, or known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Hawking was given two and a half years to live. But he proved doctors wrong and lived a fulfilled life until 76.

Youtube/StephenHawking

When he lost the ability to walk, and later to speak, Hawking communicated through a program called Equalizer, developed by computer expert in California named Walt Woltosz.

“This allowed me to select words from a series of menus on the screen by pressing a switch in my hand. I now use another of his programs, called Words+, which I control by a small sensor on my glasses that responds to my cheek movement,” the great scientist explained. “When I have built up what I want to say, I can send it to a speech synthesizer. One’s voice is very important. If you have a slurred voice, people are likely to treat you as mentally deficient. This synthesizer was by far the best I’d heard because it varies the intonation and didn’t speak like a Dalek from Doctor Who.”

With his wife Jane Wilde, Hawking had three children, among which his only daughter, Lucy Hawking, who is keeping her father’s legacy alive.

Dave J Hogan/Getty Images

“When I was young, he wasn’t the world’s most famous physicist,” Lucy Hawking told Today in 2007.

“The fame didn’t arrive until the publication of “A Brief History of Time,” by which time I was in my late teens. When I was a child, he was well known among physicists, but they are a fairly select, serious bunch, not much given to celebrity idolizing.

What was most striking was the high level of attention his electric wheelchair attracted. I suppose that in the 1970s, it was quite unusual to see a disabled person drive himself around in a wheelchair. People really did stop and stare. (He did drive his chair extremely fast and sometimes in a rather perilous fashion.) I’m so glad that these days, disabled access is so much better and that disabled people are treated with more dignity by the general public.”

Lucy studied French and Russian, and later theater. She worked as a journalist who wrote for several newspapers in both the UK and the US, and then she and her father wrote their first book together.

Youtube/Discovery Canada

George’s Secret Key to the Universe revolves around George, who learns about the universe by traveling around and exploring it.

“I have a 9-year–old son, and I thought it would be wonderful if my father and I could write something together that would explain my grandfather’s work to my son. To explain physics to kids, we decided to use the events in the story to illustrate concepts,” Lucy told Today.

“It was a fascinating process. Working with my father was a great thrill — he has the amazing ability to hold enormous amounts of information in his head, but also to pick out relevant details and make brief comments, which can completely transform your way of thinking,” she added.

“My father is an expert when it comes to framing difficult subjects in accessible language. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I felt very honored to have this opportunity.”

Together, they wrote more books.

Youtube/GoodmorningBritain

When Hawking and Lucy’s mother divorced and he married one of his nurses, Lucy was depressed.

Stephen Hawking passed away on March 14, 2018, and Lucy was heartbroken.

“Even though with someone who has been ill for a very long time, you wouldn’t think that their death could shock you, but it did,” Lucy said. “He always said that your legacy was in your children and in the work you left behind.

“And so I think it’s very, very important that we take the elements of the work he did, which lies in his work in cosmology and physics, but also in his outreach in his work in education, his advocacy for the NHS and for disability rights. And we carry that on.”

Even today, Lucy is involved with her late father’s foundation.

‘Money-obsessed’ Meghan wants private jet on command – she thought Harry would be worth hundreds of millions, experts claim

One of the reasons why Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties and left Britain, probably for good, was their desire to raise their children away from the public eye and lead a quiet life. With that said, many found it strange that the couple never really stopped exposing details of their privacy with the world. It all started with the now-infamous Oprah interview during which the Sussexes accused the members of the Firm of racism and mistreatment among the rest.

From that moment on, the couple, who now resides in sunny California, never stopped giving interviews. They secured a five-year $100 million production deal with Netflix, which released their documentary recently, and made deals with Spotify.

Shutterstock.com

In January of this year, Harry published his much-anticipated all-tell memoir Spare which sold in a staggering 1.4 million copies on its first day in the UK, United States, and Canada. Spare has been released in 16 different languages worldwide and is expected to be the best-selling book in 2023.

“We always knew this book would fly, but it is exceeding even our most bullish expectations,” Larry Finlay, managing director of Transworld Penguin Random House, said.

“As far as we know, the only books to have sold more in their first day are those starring the other Harry (Potter).”

Spare, along with Meghan and Harry’s Netflix documentary series and the number of interviews they gave to the media, made their reputation among the British people to drop down to 24 percent compared to 80 percent a decade ago.

Considering the success the memoir reached, sources claim that Random House will encourage Meghan Markle to release an all-tell book herself.

“Nobody expected sales figures like the ones we are seeing,” a source shared with Express UK, adding that the figures have “taken everyone by surprise.”

“Harry could easily overtake the combined book sales of the Obamas, the company’s current joint best-selling authors. That’s why the heat is on to get Meghan’s version of events – both with the Royal Family and her own family members in America – out there in print as soon as possible, ideally early next year to pick-up sales when demand for Spare slows down.

“Having seen Harry’s sales, they’re convinced Meghan’s story in her own words can sell even more, especially in the US,” the industry insider claimed.

Pool/Samir Hussein/WireImage

As Harry was cut-off financially when he left his royal family behind, he and Meghan have been forced to worked their way of making money and supporting their lavish lifestyle. With the deals they made, Meghan’s net worth of around $60 million and the $14 million princess Diana left Harry, they seem to be doing just fine.

However, royal experts claim that Meghan isn’t happy as “she had imagined [Harry] would be worth hundreds of millions, if not billions, and she is having to make up for it now,” Tom Bower, the author of Reveengee: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, calling the Duchess  “money-obsessed.”

“Her great surprise and disappointment were that Prince Harry had very little money,” Bower told the Express. “She wants to ride in the big Cadillacs, the private jets on command. At the moment, she needs to scrounge for those sorts of things.”

Mike Coppola/Getty Images for 2022 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Gala

Another royal expert, Daniela Elser, shares Bower’s thoughts. Writing for the New Zealand Herald, she concluded, “Does anyone think [Spotify] might have paid out the full $33 million their contract is said to be worth just for Meghan’s lackluster Archetypes? (It might have debuted with much fanfare, but later episodes failed to set the podcasting charts on fire).

“The issue is not only how much they are making but how tiddly that sum is in contrast with what their new best friends are all raking in,” Elser added.

Karen Carpenter would have been 72 today – the first celebrity known to have died from anorexia

Karen and Richard Carpenter formed the famous duo ‘The Carpenters.’ Together, the siblings sold over 100 million records in the 1970s and had 17 top 20 hits. When they signed with A&M Records, Karen was just 19. And as everyone predicted her career would be a long and successful one, her life tragically ended when she was 32.

As a young child, Karen struggled with her weight and had a hard time losing some. The tours and the concerts only made things worse when it came to establishing a proper eating schedule.

“When you’re on the road, it’s hard to eat. Period. On top of that, it’s tough to eat well. We don’t like to eat before a show because I can’t stand singing with a full stomach,” she once said.

Many believed that her overeating had a lot to do with her mother. Karen lacked love and affection from her mom and that affected her eating. At one point, she weighted 145 pounds and hated how she looked in her pictures. In an attempt to shed some weight, Karen hired a personal trainer, but she soon fired him as she wanted to reach her goal herself. Sadly, her obsession with losing weight turned into an eating disorder.

Eventually, she lost 20 pounds and received plenty of compliments. “She lost around 20lbs, and she looked fabulous,” Karen’s boyfriend’s sister, Carol Curb, revealed. “She weighed 110lb or so and looked amazing. If she’d been able to stop there, then life would have been beautiful.”

Unfortunately, Karen started starving herself and only pretended that she was eating in front of her family and friends. Whenever she was having a meal around people, she would cut up her food and move it around her plate trying to give it to those sitting next to her.

When she lost even more weight, she tried to hide that by wearing several layers of clothing. Her agent, Sherwin Bash, told The Guardian, “She would start with a long-sleeved shirt and then put a blouse over that, and a sweater over that and a jacket over that. With all of it, you had no idea of what she had become.”

As her eating disorder worsened, she was forced to seek medical help and was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. Karen was admitted to hospital, and realizing her condition was severe, her mother finally gave her the attention the singer always longed for.

Some two months later, Karen was finally able to continue with her life. Eventually, she fell in love with someone and believed she found the true love of her life, but things didn’t turn out as expected. When she met 39-year-old divorcee Tom Burris, Karen felt like her life was complete. She dreamed of starting a family and having children, but what she didn’t know was that Tom had had vasectomy and hid that from her although he knew just how much she wanted to become a mother. Karen learned of that shortly before her wedding and wanted to call it off, but her mother forced her to proceed with it because she believed that a canceled wedding would affect Karen’s image.

Tom treated Karen poorly and often called her names such as ‘a bag of bones.’ On top of that, he was spending her hard-earned money. Karen was dealing with her anorexia and her career. I was dealing with my real estate problems,” he later said. “I feel totally guilty like I’d like to reverse everything.” In 1981, Karen had had enough and filed for divorce.

She then asked for professional help from Steven Levenkron, a psychotherapist who was an authority on eating disorders. He organized a session with her closest family and friends and asked from them to tell Karen how much they loved and cared for her. And as her brother did that right away, her mom and dad weren’t forthcoming, with Agnes saying, “Well, I’m from the north, and we just don’t do things that way.”

Cherry O’Neil, a close friend of Karen revealed how the singer was having problems with overusing laxatives. “Karen was having particular problems with laxatives. She could not believe she could ever get to a point where she was not dependent on them.”

A month prior to her 33rd birthday, Karen was once again admitted to hospital, this time due to her irregular heartbeat and dehydration. Karen truly wanted to recover, but sadly, a few days later, her mother found her collapsed in a heap face-down in her walk-in closet. Karen’s eating disorder led to a cardiac arrest and she died. Her heart got weak because of vomit-inducing medication called Ipecac that Karen was using during the last days of her life.

Following her passing, professionals asked from the Food and Drug Administration to ban the over-the-counter sale of drugs that induced vomiting.

Karen is believed to be the first known celebrity to die from anorexia nervosa.

Brigitte Bardot is 88 years old now and she looks stunning

Dubbed the ultimate sex symbol of the 1960s, French actress Brigitte Bardot conquered the world the moment she first appeared on screen.

This blonde beauty, who inspired numerous fashion trends over the years, started working as a model at the age of 15, appearing on the cover of Elle magazine. Her immense charm caught the attention of many, and she soon started an acting career, rising to stardom in her native France. However, it didn’t take long before she decided to search for a place under the Hollywood sky.

Bardot appeared on screen for the first time as Javotte Lemoine in Crazy for Love in 1952 and made her first American production in Act of Love with Kirk Douglas in 1953. But it wasn’t until she landed a role in the 1956 film And God Created Women that she created her famous ‘sex kitten’ persona. The film was considered controversial in America, but it helped Bardot redefine the image of the modern woman.

“I’m a girl from a good family who was very well brought up. One day I turned my back on it all and became a bohemian,” she once said.

In 1965, she appeared as herself in the American-made Dear Brigitte with James Stewart, but the film didn’t seem to be a huge success and the American audience was hard to please, but despite that, the fascination with gorgeous Bardot only grew bigger and bigger over the years.

When she starred opposite Sean Connery in the Western movie Shalako in 1968, people had high expectations, but the movie received mixed reviews.

In 1973, at age 39, Bardot retired from acting while still being a major star. This decision confused many, but she had her reasons.

“The majority of great actresses met tragic ends. When I said goodbye to this job, to this life of opulence and glitter, images and adoration, the quest to be desired, I was saving my life,” Bardot told The Guardian.

“In the beginning, I enjoyed having people talking about me, but very quickly, it suffocated and destroyed me. Throughout my 20 years starring in movies, each time filming began, I would break out with herpes.”

Following her retirement, she focused all her time an energy to a close that has always been close to her heart, animal rights, becoming one of the leading animal rights activists in the world and the head of “Foundation Brigitte Bardot.”

“I gave my youth and beauty to men. Now I’m giving my wisdom and my experience, the better part of me, to animals,” she once said.

Speaking of her love for animals, the director of And God Created Beauty and Brigitte’s first husband, Roger Vadim, told People, “She did not get much affection from her parents, and when we started dating, she didn’t want jewels, but a dog.

“She was always allergic to fame, power and everything that connoted success. The innocence and honesty of animals reassured her.”

Bardot’s organization has done plenty for the animals over the years. Among the rest, it offers conservation programs. Further, it has financed a wild animal hospital in Chile and created facilities for mistreated bears in Bulgaria, koalas in Australia, and for elephants in Thailand.

Named “The most beautiful French actresses of all time” by Vogue, Bardot, who is 88 years old, still stuns with her beauty.

Today, she and her fourth husband, Bernard d’Orma, a wealthy businessman, live in the French coastal town of La Madrague.

Asked what gives her strength to star her days, Bardot told Vogue, “The suffering of animals,” and added: “You probably know that I find walking difficult these days. I can’t go for long walks any more, or go swimming. But I’m lucky, compared to what animals suffer. The dozens of letters I receive every day testify to the horrors that animals are still being subjected to.”

Brigitte Bardot is an absolute icon.

Dawn Lyn, ‘My Three Sons’ star, left in coma and fighting for her life with her husband by her side

Former child star Dawn Lyn, best known for the TV show My Three Sons, has been fighting for her life after she ended up in coma following a brain surgery, her former co-stars reported.

It was Stanley Livingson and Tina Cole who first wrote of Dawn’s health condition on the social media.

Once the news spread, Lyn’s brother, Leif Garrett, confirmed the rumors to be true.

“My sister, Dawn, never wanted anyone to know about the surgery,” he wrote. “Since it has been leaked on social media, I would really appreciate everyone’s understanding that it has already been a difficult time having lost both of our parents and a cousin recently. Please just keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers and respect our family’s privacy. Thank you.”

A spokesperson of Garrett said the family will not further comment on Dawn’s condition.

In 1971, Dawn Lyn had a major role in the western Shoot Out as the daughter of Gregory Peck’s character / Getty Images

Chip Douglas, who played Lyn’s brother on the show, was among the people who spoke of Dawn’s health.

“Just found out my little TV Sis’, DAWN LYN (Dodie), is in a COMA and fighting for her life,” he wrote some days ago. “She had surgery recently to remove a brain tumor. Please pray for her to have a swift and full recovery. I took Dawn out to lunch a couple of months ago. We had a great time reminiscing about our MTS days. Dawn is one of the nicest human beings I have ever known. Thoughts and prayers also go out to her husband, John, at this time. This is devastating news!”

Later, he posted an update, writing, “She remains unconscious battling meningitis. Her vitals and brain waves are good. The doctors and nurses are aggressively fighting the bacterial infection. They’re optimistic.”

As My Three Sons turned into a huge hit back in the day, Dawn gained popularity when she came to the forefront in the final three seasons.

Once the show was over, Dawn continued working as an actress for many years.

As her condition remains critical, her family and her husband of 16 years, William John Reese, are by her side hoping and praying for a positive outcome.

Our prayers go to Dawn and her family. We wish she recovers as soon as possible.

Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter kept a sweet secret since the 1940’s

In life, it happens that we meet someone and we instantly know that’s the person we would like to spend our eternity with. However, not everyone is lucky enough to match with their soulmate during the adventure called life, so when you do, make sure you grab that individual firmly and never let go.

Former president Jimmy Carter and his wife of 75 years, Rosalynn Carter, are the perfect proof that true love does exist. Their love story resembles a fairytale.

Rosalynn’s family lived next to Jimmy’s and she was a very good friend with his sister. She remembers that Jimmy’s sister had a photo of him on the wall and she fell in love with that photo showing young Jimmy wearing his uniform.

During a visit of his hometown from the Naval Academy, Jimmy laid eyes on Rosalynn and immediately knew she was the one. Speaking to People, the former president said: “She was beautiful and innocent, and there was a resonance.” They started dating but didn’t marry until she turned 18 because she made a promise to her dying father that she won’t marry before finishing school.

During the first years of marriage, the couple constantly moved places because Jimmy was often deployed at different locations. However, Rosalynn didn’t mind that. In fact, she loved being on the move with him and when he made the decision to give up his career in the Navy, she wasn’t glad. “I had been self-sufficient and independent from my mother and Jimmy’s mother,” she told The New York Times.

Being married for so many years must be a challenge, but the Carters don’t see it that way. They have always been by each other’s side; during presidency and while he battled cancer. Speaking of the secret to a long and happy marriage, both Rosalynn and Jimmy say that they have never went to bed angry at one another and know how to enjoy the simple things that many take for granted, like cherishing each other’s company.

“We’ve just grown closer and closer together,” Jimmy said.

According to the oldest living U.S. president, there are only two things necessary to ensure a happy and long marriage: “First of all, choose the right person to marry,” Jimmy told ABC’s Good Morning America. “And every night, we try to make sure we’re completely reconciled from all the arguments during the day.”

In a 2014 interview, he revealed that there is a phrase he tells his wife every single day, ‘I love you the goodest.’

“That’s what my mother and daddy used to say back and forth, and I picked it up with Rosa.” The phrase, ILYTG, became such a significant part of their lives together that Jimmy had it engraved on a compact he presented to Rosalynn and even their children use it very often. “Now all our children do the same thing – ILYTG on the phone or in emails. They generally just put the initials,” he said. “And sometimes they change the initials and make you guess what they’re talking about.”

The two share a lot of interests together, like bird watching and helping the community through the organization Habitat for Humanity, which builds homes for people in need.

They also give each other the space to do the things that fulfill them. “Jimmy and I are always looking for things to do together.” Rosalynn told CBS42. “Each [person] should have some space. That’s really important.”

It’s impossible not to love these two. We wish them more happy and healthy years together.

We now have confirmation from a very uncommon appearance by Michael J. Fox

When it comes to sci-fi movies, the first thing that comes to mind is Back to the Future. It is a legendary trilogy which is still as popular and as loved as it was over 30 years ago when the third and final part aired.

Of course, the movie wouldn’t be what it is hadn’t been for Michael J. Fox who played the role of Marty and Christopher Lloyd in the role of Doc Brown.

But did you know that when he was first handed the script, Lloyd threw it in the garbage? Luckily, a friend of his made him reconsider his decision and give it a go, and well, the rest is history.

Back in October 2022, the cast gathered together at the New York Comic-Con. Among the rest, they shared with the viewers interesting information that have never been revealed before. Michael J. Fox replaced Eric Stotz in the role of Marty McFly, the producers said, although shooting had already begun at that point. Apparently, Lloyd wasn’t happy with the changes because it meant he needed to shoot the same scenes again.

“The news at one o’clock in the morning was that the actor portraying Marty would no longer be playing Marty and that tomorrow, we would start filming with Michael,” Lloyd revealed. “I felt that I barely got it through the [first] six weeks and now I was going to have to do it again… As the cliche goes, ‘there was chemistry instantly.’”

Fox, on the other hand, had a fantastic time right from the start. “Just take everything in and let it wash over me,” the actor said. “To me, he was a genius.” The 61-year-old actor added: “That’s it. Enjoy being with Chris and letting him be Chris. This was a thrilling experience. It was always a pleasure to spend the day at the office with him.”

Further, Fox said of his co-star, “Chris is a fantastic human being. He’s really mysterious. I had to see a couple movies with him before I could say I knew him. At the end of Back to the Future Part III, we felt a deeper bond than in the previous films. I wanted to see firsthand his deep-seated passion for performing. To be honest, I had no idea. For a friendly chat about acting, Shakespeare, and King Lear… A convincing King Lear, I tell you! Few anticipate such a move from him. His character is full of unexpected twists and turns.”

Fox often speaks of his health condition. He disclosed his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis some 30 years ago, when he was just 29. It took young Fox a lot of time to accept the reality, but he finally decided to make the best out of his life despite the struggles the disease forced him to face.

At the New York Comic-Con Fox said he “struggles” with the pain from his broken bones.

He also said how he used to have a “real proficiency for lines and memorization,” but how “the last couple of years have been trickier than most.” Michael added, “And I had some extreme situations where the last couple of jobs I did were actually really word-heavy parts. I struggled during both of them.”

Recently, in an interview with comedian Mike Birbiglia, Fox opened up about never-before-shared aspects of his condition and explained that he had lost his sense of smell. Although this saddened him a great deal, he said he still remembers most of the smells, including that of pine, just before Christmas.

A few years ago, he experienced yet another health scare when he started falling down for no reason and it appeared he had a problem with his spinal cord and he needed to do something about it.

“I was told it was benign but if it stayed static I would have diminished feeling in my legs and difficulty moving. Then all of a sudden I started falling – a lot. It was getting ridiculous. I was trying to parse what was Parkinson’s and what was the spinal thing. But it came to the point where it was probably necessary to have surgery,” he said as per The New York Times.

Facebook/The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research

Along with his wife, Michael established the Michael J. Fox Foundation whose goal is finding cure for Parkinson’s disease through funded research. The organization is currently the largest non-profit founder of Parkinson’s disease research in the world. His dedication to helping patients with the disease he suffers from himself placed him on the 2007 Time Magazine‘s list of 100 people “whose power, talent or moral example is transforming the world.”

Michael J. Fox is an incredibly talent actor and an extraordinary man. We only wish him the best in the years to come. We hope he stays as optimistic as he has throughout all his life.

The Untimely Death of Kellie Pickler’s Husband

Kyle Jacobs, the 49-year-old husband of country singer Kellie Pickler, was found dead inside the couple’s Nashville, Tennessee home on Friday. The death of Jacobs, who was a songwriter, was being investigated as an apparent suicide.

Following a 911 call, first responders found Jacobs’ lifeless body. “Mr. Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him,” according to the statement. “After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant telephoned 911.”

The couple tied the knot in 2011 and didn’t have children together. According to people close to them, they led quite lives in Nashville.

Speaking of herself, Kellie said she was a quiet girl in love with gardening.

“I’m known as the sixth unofficial Golden Girl by my pals. I’m that 104-year-old trapped in a 35-year-old body. Sudoku is my favorite game. I appreciate exciting discussions. On the front porch, I adore swinging back and forth. I like being around kind people,” she once said.

She has also spoken of her husband during numerous occasions. “He is so brilliant at what he does,” she said in 2015. “Working with Kyle has been wonderful, and I’m beyond pleased to be in the studio once more recording a new album. It was amazing to be in the front row as an artist and see him in his element because he’s been seeing me play for years,” Kellie added.

Over the course of his career, Jacobs collaborated with various country music legends, such as Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Darius Rucker, and Kelly Clarkson. Among the rest, he co-wrote Garth Brooks’ 2007 single “More Than a Memory” with Lee Brice and Billy Montana. The song is considered to be the first country song to debut at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart.

Late Kyle was honored with an Academy of Country Music Award in 2014 for writing and producing “I Drive Your Truck,” Lee Brice’s big hit from 2012.

“Creating songs with lovely hearts in beautiful places is one of my favorite things to do as a songwriter,” he said in a 2021 Instagram post.

Those close to Kyle said they have never noticed any signs that he was struggling in any way so they find it hard to accept the fact that he took his own life.

Kyle was always very optimistic and radiated joy wherever he was present.

When Lee Brice released his fifth studio album, Kyle was quick to post about it on the social media. “Platinum?! SWEEEET!!! “This one was created by an exceptional team of incredibly creative individuals,” he wrote in the caption. “I am quite grateful to have contributed in whatever manner… Jesus, God bless you!”

Kyle and Kellie dated for some time before he proposed her in 2010. She describes that day as one of the most beautiful in her life.

In an Instagram post from 2017, Kellie wrote, “We watched the sunset gently paint a colorful ending to a lovely day after Kyle got down on one knee and I screamed ‘YES!!!’

“When two people marry, the wedding is not about the glamour. That applies to both the bride and husband and God.” Pickler told at the time. “I can’t think of a term that describes how lovely it was,” she remarked, “with only ourselves, God, and our pastor present.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kellie Pickler and her family during these times of grief.

Tom Sizemore’s family deliver tragic update as he remains in critical condition after stroke

Tom Sizemore, best known for his role in Saving Private Ryan, suffered a brain aneurysm on Saturday, February 18, a representative for the actor has confirmed the news.

“He is in the hospital,” Charles Lago told the media. “His family is aware of the situation and are hoping for the best. It is too early to know about [a] recovery situation as he is in critical condition and under observation.”

Tom collapsed at his home in Los Angeles and was transported to hospital soon after. Sadly, his family is now sharing some devastating news with the public. As per the actor’s manager, they are “deciding on end of life matters” after having been told by doctors that “there is no further hope.”

The statement reads: “In the early hours of Saturday, February 18, Tom Sizemore collapsed at his Los Angeles home and was transported to a hospital by Paramedics. He was found to be suffering from a brain aneurism that occurred as a result of a stroke.

“Since that day, Tom has remained in critical condition, in a coma and in intensive care.”

Further, it reads: “Today, doctors informed his family that there is no further hope and have recommended end of life decision. The family is now deciding end of life matters and a further statement will be issued on Wednesday.”

The statement concludes: “We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time and they wish to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages of support, and prayers that have been received. This has been a difficult time for them.”

Tom has had quite a career. Besides what is believed to be one of his biggest roles, that of Mike Horvath in Saving Private Ryan, he has also played in “Born on the Fourth of July” alongside Tom Cruise, “Pearl Harbor” with Ben Affleck, and in the television show “Twin Peaks.” He has also worked as a writer and producer for various projects.

The 61-year-old actor has had troubles with the law in the past. In 2003 he was convicted of domestic violence against then-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss, while in 2005, he was sentenced to several months in jail after being caught trying to fake a urine test. But he has always spoken openly about his troubles, including his attempts to stay sober.

“I’ve been trying to get sober since 1991 … It became really big news much later than that, but I was trying to stop. I’ve had a problem for a long time. I had periods, long periods, of sobriety and I would end up relapsing,” Tom said in the past.

“I still go to meetings and work my steps, but I had reached a place in my life where I knew I had to stop,” he explained. “I couldn’t be arrogant anymore. If I wanted to reach a nice and pleasant old age, I had to stop. And if I wanted to watch my kids grow up, I needed to reach a place where I knew it was over.

“So far, it has remained over,” he once said. “I still have to do my daily inventory and show up.”

The fairytale-like love story of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, the Hollywood ‘golden couple’

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward were the Hollywood golden couple. With marriage that spanned five decades, these two soulmates showed the world what a true love is and what each of us should seek in the person we choose to spend our eternity with.

When they first met, Paul was married to his first wife Jackie Witte with whom he had three children, Scott Newman, Susan Kendall Newman, and Stephanie Newman. They were married for nine years and met when Paul still hadn’t made a name for himself.

The encounter between Paul and Joanne, his second wife and greatest love of his life, happened during his debut in the Broadway play Picnic. Wearing spotless seersucker suit and with no drop of sweat in sight, the handsome 28-year-old Paul looked “like an ice cream soda ad,” Joanne told Today.

Paul was totally charmed by Joanne’s beauty, but as he was married at the time, they remained good friends and stayed in touch until they met again during the filming of The Long, Hot Summer in 1957. Realizing Paul fell in love with Joanne, his wife Witte finally decided to sign the divorce papers. Although Paul never really wanted to speak of his first wife and was telling magazines how that chapter of his life was no one’s business, he confessed at one point that he was feeling “guilty as hell,” and he was “probably too immature to make a success of my first marriage.”

Youtube/Whatsmyline

Paul and Joanne got married in 1958 and settled down in their 18th-century Connecticut farmhouse. She believed that the two were never really a Hollywood couple and moving to Connecticut helped them “always enjoy each other’s company.”

The same year she tied the knot to Paul, Joanne won an Academy Award for Best Actress for The Three Faces of Eve. During her career, Joanne was nominated for Oscar in 1969 for her role in Rachel, Rachel, in 1974 for Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams and in 1991 for Mr. & Mrs. Bridge. She received two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in See How She Runs (1978) and Do You Remember Love (1985). She was nominated five more times.

Paul won an Oscar for his role in the movie The Color of Money. The couple starred in ten films together and both remain one of the most famous people in the history of film.

“He’s very good looking and very sexy and all of those things, but all of that goes out the window and what is finally left is, if you can make somebody laugh,” Joanne told Today. “And he sure does keep me laughing.”

In fact, their love was so deep, pure, and strong that their story is one of the best celebrity love stories the world has ever witnessed.

Instagram/theclassicsdarling

The golden couple had three daughters together, Ellinor Teresa, Melissa Stewart and Claire Olivia. They were loving and dedicated parents, but Paul could never forgive himself for the death of his son Scott who passed away of drug overdose in 1975.

Their daughter Claire opened up about her mother and told the Daily Mail, “My mother was way ahead of her time. She was in the women’s lib before it became a big thing and she was a hands-on mother; when I was a baby she nursed me on set. She’d stop the cameras rolling in the middle of scenes and say, “Sorry, I’ve got to feed the baby.”’

Everyone who knew them could tell they were born to be together. Author Carol Joynt, who once saw them together, wrote, “Joanne Woodward sat on the ground with her back against the trunk of a big tree, her legs stretched out in front. In her lap rested the head of Paul Newman, who occasionally reached up to touch her face and hair as he savored the music. It’s possible I gaped. To this day it’s the most romantic thing I ever witnessed.”

Youtube/Country Living

Sadly, Paul died of lung cancer in 2008. Before he said the final goodbye, the Hollywood’s golden couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

Their fairy-tale like story was shown on the screens as Ethan Hawke directed a documentary about them. He promised “a rare and exclusive look at the careers of both actors and a complex 50-year relationship that ultimately managed to beat incredible odds,” and that’s exactly what he delivered.

“They had the love of newlyweds,” family friend Bob Forrester told People about the couple. “When I would fly with him all over the world, the moment the plane landed, Paul would call Joanne and he always said, ‘I love you,’ even after 50 years of marriage. She was his everything. They were soulmates.”

The Newman estate was left to Joanne and various charities following her beloved husband’s death.

The success of their marriage was pretty simple, according to Joanne.

“We could talk to each other, we could tell each other anything without fear of ridicule or rejection. There was trust,” she said, according to Honey Nine.

Joanna Woodward has retired from acting. Today, she is 93 years old and she hasn’t been out in public much since she did the voice of Doris in 2013’s Lucky Them.

Reports are that she’s going through a tough health battle.

According to Closer Magazine, Woodward is battling Alzheimer’s. USA Today reports that Joanne was diagnosed with the disease in 2007, just days before Paul Newman was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

With Ethan Hawke’s intimate six-part docuseries about Woodward and Newman which premiered in 2022, Woodward once again found herself in the spotlight

Hopefully, Joanne could enjoy it.

”That’s why the family wanted me to do it now,” Hawke said in 2020 and continued:

”They wanted it to come out while she’s still alive and can see this, to support her”.

Verne Troyer tried changing stereotypes of ‘little people’ in Hollywood: Inside his last years

Being different, in one way or another, should be something to embrace, because it is the differences that make this world a beautifully diverse place. Sadly, this isn’t always the case. It is in the human’s nature to treat differences in manners that cause pain and bad feelings. Instead of acceptance, people who suffer from different conditions and somehow don’t fit in what many consider ‘normal’ are offered rejection. This is something that needs to change, but it would probably take a lot more years for that to happen.

For actor Verne Troyer, being different wasn’t an obstacle to reach fame and make a name for himself.

Namely, Verne had a rare form of dwarfism known as cartilage-hair hypoplasia and was raised in an Amish community. He is best known for the role of Mini-Me in the Austin Powers film franchise.

DFree / Shutterstock.com

Verne was born in Sturgis, Michigan, on January 1, 1969, where he grew up with his parents. “We grew up Amish, but my parents left the religion when I was a child. The Amish have lots of rules and my dad thought many people in the faith were hypocritical because they’d tell others not to do something and then do it themselves,” Verne told The Guardian.

Suffering from a rare form of dwarfism, Verne was of short stature.

“People with cartilage-hair hypoplasia have unusually short limbs and short stature from birth,” according to Medlineplus.gov.

“They typically have malformations in the cartilage near the ends of the long bones in the arms and legs (metaphyseal chondrodysplasia), which then affects development of the bone itself. Most people with cartilage-hair hypoplasia are unusually flexible in some joints, but they may have difficulty extending their elbows fully.”

Growing up, Verne did what every other child does and he didn’t consider himself different, but when the time came for him to attend high-school he started thinking about his height, especially because his parents, and everyone else in the family, was of average size.

Thankfully, his parents were there to teach him to love himself the way he was. They assured him that no matter his height, he could do anything he would put his mind into and that helped him a lot with his self-confidence.

“I never got much trouble off other kids either, although there was one incident in third grade where a kid who was much taller than me called me the M-word [midget], which is very offensive. So without even thinking, I just jumped in the air and punched him in the nose. He never bothered me again,” Troyer recalled, adding that he was told off whenever he did something wrong.

“My parents were strict on discipline – if we did something wrong, we got the belt. I certainly learned right from wrong more quickly because of it. I get that it’s a controversial issue nowadays and I don’t necessarily agree with it – it’s just how it was back then.”

Until he was 21, Verne led an ordinary life and worked as a telephone company operator in Texas but one day in 1993 would change his life forever.

The producers of the film Baby’s Day Out were looking for a new stand-in stuntman but had a hard time finding one so when Verne’s friend, the president of Little People of America (LPA), got a call from Hollywood, he knew Verne could be perfect for the job.

“They were wondering if there was anyone close to a stand-in size, I guess they searched worldwide and couldn’t find anyone. I sent in my picture, and they flew me out to Hollywood to meet with them. Two days later, they offered me the job, and I quit my job at Sprint,” the actor said. After landing some minor roles, Verne was cast for the iconic role of Mini-Me in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. As we all know, he also appeared in the next movie, Austin Powers: Goldmember. His signature move of putting his pinky to the corner of his mouth became iconic.

Becoming a celebrity helped Verne fight against the stereotype about little people and he was very proud of that. “I’m not a very confident person, but I grew up with parents who’ve given me the optimism that whatever you put your mind to, you can do, and hopefully I show that to other people,” he said in 2002.

In the film, his character was supposed to die, but fans loved to see more of him so Mike Myers needed to rewrite the script and keep Verne’s character alive.

“When they did a test screening, Mini-Me died at the end. We had to go back and reshoot that because the crowd was upset that Mini-Me was no longer there,” he recalled to Oprah.

“In the beginning, Mini-Me character wasn’t in the film that much,” he said. “Once we started rehearsal, Mike kept adding more parts and more parts and more parts,” he added. “Working with Mike was great. He improv’d a lot. It just kept you on your toes.”

Youtube/StyxHerceg

Mike Myers later said: “As written, Mini-Me is like almost a prop, but he brought it up off the page, made it better than written, and we ended up giving him more and more stuff to do.”

As his career advanced, his personal life suffered. Namely, Verne started drinking a lot and even experienced mental issues in the early 2000. He married model Genevieve Gallen in 2014 but their marriage was short lived. In 2017, the actor spoke openly of his addiction and said he was willing to brake his bad habits and even go to rehab.

“While it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day,” he said at the time.

“I’ve been receiving treatment for the last week, and I am voluntarily checking into a treatment center later this week to continue to get the help that I need.”

Sadly, on April 21, 2018, Verne passed away. He was 49.

“It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne passed away today. Verne was an extremely caring individual. He wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh. Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible,” his family said.

Shortly after his passing, it was revealed that Verne Troyer took his own life.

“Over the years he’s struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much,” the statement read. “Depression and [taking your own life] are very serious issues. You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it’s never too late to reach out to someone for help.”

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, Mike Mayers said of his dear friend, “He died at 49. He wasn’t supposed to live past his teens. You saw 150 years worth of life in this photo montage.

“Verne brought so much love to people. Every day you see him, you go ‘Wow! That is a small human.’ But by the end of the day, you just saw Verne. It just sort of went away….He was part of the cast and fantastic. I miss him.”

Orlando shooting spree leaves TV reporter and a 9-year-old girl dead

Television journalist Dylan Lyons, 24, of Spectrum News 13 in Orlando was killed on the job when the suspect in an earlier shooting Lyons was reporting of returned to the crime scene. A 9-year-old girl nearby was also tragically killed, while her mother and photojournalist Jesse Walden were critically injured.

“You know Dylan was a reporter I work with every day,” Walden said later in an interview from his hospital bed. “We were best friends.”

The suspect, 19-year-old Keith Melvin Moses, was arrested and taken to custody. He has a criminal record, including a misdemeanor for drug possession and allegations of drug paraphernalia possession. In the past, he was also arrested for aggravated battery, assault, and grand theft, according to police.

While reporting on the news of the shooting spree in which Lyons lost his life, WESH news woman Luana Munoz was spotted breaking down and crying on live TV. She arrived at the hospital where Lyons died later that night to give her report after learning of his death.

“All right, I’m sorry. This is extremely difficult to cover,” Munoz remarked with a trembling voice as tears kept running down her face. “It’s an emotional situation at [Orlando Regional Medical Center]. I won’t flip the camera since others here know the reporter – his fiancee and I were hugging.”

Munoz then spoke of the importance the members of the media showed. “We go home at night fearful that something like this may happen, and that is exactly what happened here,” she said.

“Now here we are again at [ORMC], where we have learned that a fellow reporter has died while out covering a shooting. There are members of his family and his fiancée here who are heartbroken tonight,” Munoz said before barely finding strength to ‘gather herself.’

“No one in our community – not a mother, not a 9-year-old, (and) certainly not news professionals – should become the victim of gun violence in our community,” Orange County Sheriff John Mina said, adding that the motive behind the killings remains a mystery.

“We’re still not sure what his motive was. Why he did this,” Mina said. “But we want to find out because I know the community wants to know.”

The first victim, whose killing Lyons was reporting about when he was killed himself, was identified by the killer as Nathacha Augustin.

Moses, “as far as we know, had no connection to the reporters and no connection to the mother and the 9-year-old,” Mina said. “We don’t know why he entered that home.”

“We are saddened by the loss of our colleague and the other lives that were senselessly lost today. During this tragic time, our thoughts are with our employee’s families, friends, and coworkers.

“We remain optimistic that our other injured colleague will make a full recovery,” Spectrum News said.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives during this shooting which shook the country.

Randy Travis stuns country Hall of Fame crowd by singing 3 years after stroke

Randy Travis is the first country performer to have a debut album (‘Storms of Life’) certified platinum within its first year of release, and as a result, he has been acknowledged for creating a new standard.

Sadly, over the recent years, Randy has been really struggling to get back to the man he once was. Randy was left in a comatose stage because of a severe cardiomyopathy, he was fighting for his life in a hospital bed!

Day upon day his condition seemed to get worse and as far as the doctors were concerned his end result was to die, they urged Randy’s wife to stop life support and let him pass, but her reaction made them shake their heads.

Instagram/Randy Travis

During an interview with the news, Mary Davis Travis explained that Randy’s condition was constantly changing, so one moment he seemed like there were signs of life then the next he was crashing again.

They told her: “Life was minute to minute. They said ‘pull the plug, there’s no hope.”

But she didn’t want to listen to them, she made up her own mind, Mary decided to give Randy the time he needed to recuperate. She said to USA Today that any small chance that he would come out of it and recover from the coma was a chance worth taking.

She said:“At this point, the one to two-percent chance is [a] 100-percent chance over zero. I prayed hard, ‘God, please let me have him back, anyway, shape or form.'”

She prayed for him and as she prayed he began to return to her, just a tiny bit at a time, he finally regained the strength to come back out of the coma. The challenges were still just starting though…

Facebook/12 News

Without the ability to walk or talk the stroke had stolen Randy’s faculties which made simple daily tasks very challenging, things that we do without thinking were hard and challenging for him.

Mary and the rest of Randy’s family were there for him and right with him all the way through his long hard journey.

Facebook/12 News

Then, in 2016, three years after suffering the stroke, Randy wowed his fans when he performed Amazing Grace at the Nashville ceremony that ushered him into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Although he was assisted to the stage by Brad Paisley and fellow Hall of Fame member Garth Brooks, Randy demonstrated that he has regained some of his speech by singing a portion of the legendary song.

Two other great names that were inducted to the Hall of Fame alongside Randy were fiddler Charlie Daniels and music producer Fred Foster.

Several artists paid tribute to the three awardees musically, including Kris Kristofferson, Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, and many others.

Standing by her husband, Mary said, “Randy stared death in the face, but death blinked. Today, God’s proof of a miracle stands before you.”

In the summer of 2020, Randy released his first single since suffering a stroke. The song, Fool’s Love Affair, which earned millions of streams and dominated radio airwaves.

This is what the great actor looks like at 80 – He’s walking with difficulty and suffering from two types of cancer

Ryan O’Neal had his breakthrough with the soap opera Peyton Place but he will always be known for his role of Oliver Barrett in what is considered one of the most famous romantic films ever made, Love Story.

The film follows the lives of Oliver, heir of an American upper-class East Coast family who studies at Harvard, and Jennifer “Jenny” Cavilleri, a quick-witted, working-class Radcliffe College student of classical music. Despite their different background the two fall in love despite his parents’ disapproval of their love and marriage.

Once married, they struggle financially to support Oliver’s dream to be part of Harvard, but he graduates third in his class and takes a position at a respectable New York City law firm. Sadly, just as they struggle to conceive, doctors tell Oliver that Jenny is terminally ill. He loses her, and her final wish is for him to embrace her tightly as she dies.

Unfortunately for actor Ryan O’Neal, this story didn’t only happen to be a movie plot, but his real life too.

Ryan had a long-lasting love affair with actress Farrah Fawcett, the star of Charlie’s Angels.

Farrah was married once. Her marriage to Lee Majors lasted for nine years. The divorce was finalized in 1982, but the couple separated a couple of years before that. Farrah then dated Ryan O’Neal for many years. He was a good friend of her husband. The two first met in 1979, and he though she was the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen.

“She’s delightful, full of childlike warmth,” Ryan wrote in his 2012 book Both of Us: My Life with Farrah. “There is no pretense or cattiness about her whatsoever, she’s vibrant and wholesome, refreshing in this town.”

He witnessed her marriage break down. “Farrah and I have no plans to marry — nor do we have plans to separate,” Ryan said. “Don’t fix what ain’t broken.”

Farrah and Ryan welcomed son Redmond O’Neal in 1985. In 1997, however, she caught him cheating with actress Leslie Ann Stefanso, and a year later, they split.

In 2001, Ryan O’Neal was diagnosed with leukemia and Farrah was diagnosed with cancer herself five years later. He spent all his time by her side and took care of her.

“The hair is gone,” he told People at the time.

“Her famous hair. I have it at home. She didn’t care. I rub her head. It’s kind of fun, actually, this great, tiny little head. How she carried all that hair, I’ll never know. She doesn’t have a vanity about it.

“It’s a love story. I just don’t know how to play this one. I won’t know this world without her. Cancer is an insidious enemy,” he added.

Sadly, great Farrah Fawcett passed away in 2009 in the arms of Ryan O’Neal.

Recently, the 81-year-old actor was spotted walking with the help of a cane. It is obvious that he has troubles navigating around. Ryan was seen strolling at a leisurely pace across the parking lot before arriving at his car, where he hopped into the passenger’s seat.

Besides overcoming his leukemia, Ryan was later diagnosed with prostate cancer. Close friends of him revealed to RadarOnline that “Ryan’s deteriorated to the point where it’s beyond hiding.”

“He’s lost weight and seems so frail and can’t walk without the help of a cane,” a source told the outlet.

However, no health issue he has ever experienced has been more painful than Farrah’s passing.

These 12 kids and their dog are dubbed as the crime-busting heroics

Kids love embarking on adventures, and these 12 quick-thinking friends got involved into one that they will never forget.

As they were playing in a field together with a dog, a Yorkshire terrier named Molly, the “Tremendous Twelve,” as newspapers called them after their crime-busting heroic act, noticed a helicopter which had the word ‘police’ written on the bottom. At the same time, they spotted two men running in a hurry, as though they were trying to hide from someone. That’s when the kids realized the helicopter was trying to locate the men who happened to be suspects of burgling a farm nearby.

“It was really noisy and we could see it said “police” on the bottom. Then we saw a man running along the side of the field. We saw the man take his jumper off and put it around his head,” one of the children, a 9-year-old girl said.

At first, they tried to shout to the pilot, but as it was clear that he couldn’t listen to them, they decided to create a human arrow and tip in the men’s direction because at that point, the helicopter was pointed in the opposite direction.

“‘Let’s get into an arrow,’ two of my friends then said, and we took position on the ground,” the girl added.

Thanks to the kids’ quick-thinking, the suspects were tracked down and arrested.

“They stated they believed we were playing around at first, but they followed our arrow and caught the men,” one of the kids told The Mail. “We’re quite proud of what we accomplished.”

Another of the kids, who were aged six to twelve said, “We feel really proud – it was awesome.”

The kids gained internet fame after Surrey Police released the video of the human arrow.

Ben Brearley, father of one of the children, told The Mail, “The children were wonderful and liked the thrill. Many people have compared it to something from Scooby Doo or an Enid Blyton book. The children adore that.”

Surrey Police Sergeant Paul Sochon said, “The initiative they displayed was vital.”

Nanny Faye Chrisley has updated her bladder cancer struggle

Nanny Faye, mom of Todd Chrisley of Chrisley Knows Best, was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021, and has been keeping her health battle private for the most part. It was when Todd and his wife Julie Chrisley were found guilty of tax evasion and fraud that he revealed his mother’s diagnosis on his podcast.

“My mother was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and she is currently undergoing treatment, and we have been dealing with that treatment regularly,” he explained, adding that he remains hopeful. “I pray every day, multiple times a day, that God keep a healing hand on her. Everyone goes through trials and we are no different than anyone else.”

After learning of her cancer, nothing else about it was really shared with fans who were eager to learn more.

Recently, during an appearance on Savannah Chrisley’s Unlocked podcast, the 79-year-old stated she is in good spirits despite continuing cancer treatments. “You don’t always have a good hand of cards to play with, but you do your best. You get up, groom yourself, and move on,” she says. “I go to bed early and wake up early. It brings you fortune, wisdom, and health.”

Savannah called her grandpa a champ and noted that she didn’t have it easy since her son Todd and her daughter-in-law Julie, who has otherwise always been by her side, have now been sentenced.

Speaking of her grandma, Savannah added, “She’d get her chemo, the next day she’d be sick, and then she’d be in the car heading to the casino.”

“If we’re being honest, everyone knows mom and dad were your primary caregivers,” Savannah said before Nanny Faye acknowledged that it’s been “extremely difficult.”

“There wasn’t a single treatment [for her bladder cancer] that my darling daughter-in-law wasn’t with me,” Nanny Faye explained. “She has been on my side through it all.”

According to the American Cancer Society, nine out of ten bladder cancer patients are over 55.

Mom’s baby bump was so huge people thought she was carrying 8 babies

Being a mom has to be one of the best feelings there are. The thought of carrying another life inside you is divine all by itself.

Most moms-to-be love taking pictures of their bellies and keep them as beautiful memories they will cherish forever. Well, a mom of four named Renae W did the same. However, she didn’t only take photos and videos for herself, but she shared them on TikTok as well.

Previously, she documented her journey towards healthier and sober lifestyle, but once she fell pregnant again, she focused the content of what she posted on her pregnancy.

What attracted the attention of many was Renae’s huge belly.

@mommy1987003/TIKTOK

Many assumed that she was carrying multiple babies, with some being convinced she had eight bundles of joy inside her tummy. She, however, assured her followers that she was carrying just one baby. ”Yes it’s just one. I’m sure,” she said in one of her videos.

Some things that can cause an overly huge belly are polyhydramnios, extra fluid, or gestational diabetes. Renae didn’t experience any of this. “I had an ultrasound not that long ago, fluid is normal, baby is measuring a week and four days ahead,” she said in a video.

@mommy1987003/TIKTOK

Many people provided words of encouragement and support, wishing her healthy pregnancy. Sadly, there were also those who made fun of her belly. Among the latter was a doctor who said the mom-to-be should be worried. This made Renae angry so she was quick to speak her mind. ”As a doctor, you should be ashamed of yourself for this video, especially when I’m not your patient,” she wrote.

@mommy1987003/TIKTOK

Some of the comments under Renae’s videos were, “I swear you have like 4 twins in there,” “There’s a full grown adult in there,” and “He’s gonna come out 30 years old with a credit score of 800.”

During her documented pregnancy, Renae gained 35 pounds and one of her videos reached 37 million views.

Many moms stepped up for Renae.

“Every women carries differently. Every pregnancy is different, and every pregnancy is unique!” one woman wrote. “I can’t believe he would even say that to you knowing absolutely nothing about your pregnancy,” another added.

Finally, Renae’s bundle of joy was welcomed into the world on February 18. The sweet baby boy weighed 9lb 8oz and was 22 & 1/2 inches tall.

When your son comes out hand first looking like Superman flying,” she wrote in February. “Yeah I said son, just one big healthy baby boy.

Following the birth of her son, many were curious to learn how Renae’s belly looked like.

@mommy1987003/TIKTOK

“Five days after my c-section. The only weight I lost was my 9lb 8oz baby and another 5 and a half pounds,” she said.

“I don’t get why people don’t understand that everyone carries different. I’m short and carry all out front. I’ve been told you ruined your body, and ‘your stretch marks are gonna be so bad afterwards’. The truth is I don’t care because my body blessed me with five amazing kids and an angel baby. I love my body and the amazing things it has done.”

@mommy1987003

Hope everyone is having a great day!!🥰

Former Hollywood actress Tippi Hedren reveals a dark secret

The life story of actress Tippi Hedren is fascinating, to say the least. This blonde bombshell found her way to Hollywood after Alfred Hitchcock spotted her in a commercial. The famed director was so fascinated with her on-screen appearance that he was quick to contact her and offer her a seven-year contract. She became his muse and a leading lady in two of his most prominent movies, The Birds and Marnie. But things between them took the wrong turn, and eventually, that led her career to experience a huge setback.

When Hedren received the call that changed her life forever, she didn’t know whether to laugh, cry or run.

Wikipedia Commons / Hollywood Press Syndicate

“I was not primarily concerned with how she looked in person. Most important was her appearance on the screen, and I liked that immediately. She has a touch of that high-style, lady-like quality which was once well-represented in films by actresses like Irene Dunne, Grace Kelly, Claudette Colbert, and others, but which is now quite rare,” Hitchcock later said.

And yes, Hedren’s appearance was indeed compared to that of gracious Grace Kelly, and Hedren was flattered.

It was very obvious that Hitchcock had great plans with the Minnesota born green-eyed beauty with Swedish, German, and Norwegian roots.

Flickr

Once she signed the contract, Hedren did several screen tests that went on for days. “Hitch always liked women who behaved like well-bred ladies. Tippi generated that quality,” production designer Robert F. Boyle said.

Following the testing, Hedren had dinner with Hitchcock and his wife and that’s when he reached to his pocket and took out a golden box wrapped in gift paper.

“I had just finished a screen test for Hitch and I thought, ‘What a nice way for him to tell me he liked it,’” Hedren told Star Tribune.

Inside the box was a gold pin adorned with a seed pearl.

“Hitch said, ‘Look at it closely, my dear.’

“It’s shaped like a bird,” Hedren said.

“Yes, my dear,” Hitchcock explained with his deep voice.

”You have the lead in my next production.”

That’s how Hedren got the role in what the New York Times called “a horror film that should raise the hackles on the most courageous and put goose-pimples on the toughest hide.”

Donaldson Collection/Getty Images

The filming of Birds was as chilling as the film itself.

“They used real birds. In one scene, 2,000 finches come down the fire place chimney and take over my home. But the worst scene took place in the attic. I’m attacked by crows and gulls. One bird scratched me under the eye and bit my lip. It took six days to film a sequence that lasts only two minutes on film. I was very depressed about the horror of the scene and at the end I collapsed. I stayed in bed for days,” Hedren revealed in 1962.

Following The Birds, Hedren was offered the role in Marnie. “I was amazed that he would offer me this incredible role and that he would have that kind of faith in me,” the stunning actress explained in the book Hitchcock and the Making of Marnie.

Wikipedia Commons

Although it seemed that Hedren’s career would skyrocket even further, her relationship with the famous director sort of crumbled because “[Hitchcock] was too possessive and too demanding. I cannot be possessed by anyone. But, then, that’s my own hangup,” the actress said in 1973.

Donald Spoto revealed more details regarding Hedren and Hitchcock’s relationship in his book The Dark Side of Genius which he published in 1983. According to him, the director wanted to have a say about what Hedren should eat, who she should be around, and how she lived her life. He even asked from the crew to stay away from her when they weren’t filming. Suddenly, she felt completely isolated.

“Hitch was becoming very domineering and covetous of ‘Tippi,’ and it was very difficult for her. No one was permitted to come physically close to her during the production. ‘Don’t touch the girl after I call “Cut!”‘ he said to me repeatedly,” Rod Taylor, co-star in The Birds, revealed in the book.

Tippi Hedren and Sean Connery in Marnie (1964).

Herden herself revealed, “Everyone -— I mean everyone -— knew he was obsessed with me. He always wanted a glass of wine or champagne, with me alone, at the end of the day. He was really isolating me from everyone.”

Of course, those close to Hitchcock stood by his side and said they couldn’t recognize the man described in the book as the famous director.

“He ruined my career, but he didn’t ruin my life. That time of my life was over. I still admire the man for who he was,” Hedren told Huffington Post in 2012.

“I’ve been able to separate the two. The man who was the artist. I mean, what he gave to the motion picture industry can never be taken away from him and I certainly wouldn’t want to try. But on the other side, there is that dark side that was really awful.”

Hedren with Alfred Hitchcock in a publicity photograph for Marnie (1964)

Throughout the years, the actress, who is 93 years old, has been married three times. She first wed actor and advertising executive Peter Griffith in 1952, before splitting from him nine years later. Together, they welcomed her only child, daughter and future Hollywood star Melanie Griffith. She then married her agent, Noel Marshall, and following the divorce from him, she tied the knot with Luis Barrenechea, with whom she stayed together until 1995.

These days, she’s devoted to a cause close to her heart for many years, rescuing and caring for big cats through The Roar Foundation and the Shambala Preserve near Acton, California.

Hedren, who is a Golden Globe Award recipient, had her latest film appearance in 2017 in The Ghost and the Whale, an American mystery thriller drama film. As she moved to her 90s, she decided not to take significant roles.

“I am at the time in my life when I have done almost everything I wanted to do,” Hedren told The Hollywood Reporter.

“My constant work here at the preserve to care for my rescued and abandoned big cats fills my days now. I doubt that I will do much work in the motion-picture business or television again, and I suppose that is why this commercial was such a special offer.”

Tippi Hedren, who is one of the last surviving stars from Golden Age of Hollywood cinema, truly is a synonym for grace, class, dignity.
