When baby Azael was born on July 14, 2021, his parents were over the moon. Mom Cynthia Salinas, of San Antonio, was determined to offer him the best life possible, and that included high quality nutrition. While at the hospital, Cynthia saw nurses feeding her son with Similac Pro Advance, which is considered a top-line formula.
Unfortunately, around two weeks after he was welcomed into the world, baby Azael started feeling bad. Concerned for his health, Cynthia took him to the hospital and told doctors that her son was having diarrhea and was vomiting. Following the checkup, doctors prescribed them Pedialyte and Tylenol and sent them home. However, those medications didn’t help improve Azael’s condition. On the contrary, he felt worse.
“That’s where everything went downhill. He just got really sick”, the young mom recalled.
Cynthia took her son to the hospital again but nothing could prepare her for the devastating news she was delivered by the doctors. The baby had a terrible case of salmonella bacteria that had already attacked his brain. They told her it was too late for anything to be done. Unfortunately, baby Azael passed away that day, at just 30 days old, after his heartbroken mom held him in her arms for one last time.
The cause of death was listed as Salmonella Meningitis.
After the tragedy struck, Cynthia wasn’t at ease. She couldn’t find an answer to the question which stuck with her and wouldn’t let her continue with her life. What could have caused the bacteria at such a young baby?
After thorough research, she stumbled upon information about the suspicious quality of the baby formula she used for Azael.
Company Abbott Nutrition had recalled that the FDA, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, was investigating complaints they received about certain powdered formulas that had been produced at the Sturgis plant in Michigan, which included Similac Pro Advance, too. Allegedly, those formulas caused Cronobacter and Salmonella infections in infants.
She checked the batch number on formulas she had used for Azael and was horrified to see they matched with those under investigation.
She was certain that was the reason which led to her son’s passing.
The FDA investigated four reported cases of Cronobacter that the formulas might have caused in infants. Two of these cases resulted in death.
However, there was not enough evidence to link the baby formula to Salmonella.
Hearing this, heartbroken Cynthia said that “when this recall came out, I felt betrayed.”
“This is supposed to be a really good formula. And now, all this is happening, and you just have a lot of unanswered questions going on right now, and hopefully, we get answers pretty soon.”
She isn’t done fighting for justice for her late son and is pursuing a lawsuit. At the same time she urges parents to be extra cautious about what they feed their newborns with.
A mother named Amanda Schuster explains the challenges and the joys of being a parent of a child that is different.
It all started when she and her husband Robert decided they wanted another baby.
But, after months of trying, the results were always devastating. The two, however, were determined to give their son a sibling and just when they wanted to schedule an appointment with a fertility expert Amanda missed her period, and that was it.
Finally, this couple learned they are expecting a baby.
When Amanda was in the 10th week of pregnancy, she underwent genetic testing on the fetus. Her doctor recommended it due to the fact both her and Robert were in their mid 40’s. The tests showed this mom-to-be was carrying a perfectly healthy baby. Or, at least that was what she was initially told.
Months passed by and the excitement only grew bigger and bigger when the family was told some shocking news. It turned out that the baby had some serious issues.
The nurse who was going through the scans of the regular check-up informed Amanda and Robert how she had to consult with a radiologist. That’s when they knew things were serious.
One of the doctors told the weeping and terrified parents how the baby had some form of dwarfism and she wouldn’t make it once out of the womb.
Amanda wanted to consult another doctor who told them how the baby had in fact Pfeiffer Syndrome. This happens when the skull fuses prematurely during pregnancy and the child has a deformed head and face.
These loving parents made sure they learned as much as they could about the syndrome in order to be able to help their bundle of joy.
Emmy was welcomed into the world, and her mom describes the moment she laid eyes on her special daughter.
“Even though we had prepared ourselves as best as we could, it was still a shock to see Emmy in the flesh. Her eyes were huge, her skull was misshapen, and they intubated her immediately before I even got to look at her. She also has the most beautiful blue eyes and dark hair,” Amanda said.
During the first 18 months of her life, sweet Emmy had to undergo 20 surgeries. Sadly, she would probably have more in the future.
Emmy is one lucky girl to be part of a loving family like hers. Both her parents and her big brother Baron are there with her every step of the way and make sure she feels loved and protected.
We wish Emmy a careless childhood and a great life ahead of her.
Robert James Ritchie, professionally known as Kid Rock, started his career as a rapper and DJ. Over the course of his career, he released a number of albums and his style alternates between rock, hip hop, country, and heavy metal.
Besides his music and the hits he has under his belt, Kid Rock is known as someone who is never afraid to speak his mind. During an appearance on Fox & Friends, Kid Rock decided to use his chance to share with the audience how much he dislikes Joy Behar, the co-host of The View and all that she stands for.
“You know and just talk about things without going for each other’s throats and protesting everything, and God forbid you say something a little bit wrong, you’re racist, homophobic, Islamophobic. This, that and the other,” Kid Rock said to Fox & Friends co-host Steve Doocy. “People need to calm down, get a little less politically correct. And I would say you know, love everybody.”
To everyone’s surprise, he then added: “Except I’d say screw that Joy Behar b*tch. Everybody but that.”
Shocked by his words, Doocy apologized on behalf of her guest. Fox News censors didn’t manage to catch Kid Rock’s slur on time and his offensive words were televised nationally.
The star then proceeded: “I mean, lady. I mean, lady,” he said after Doocy apologized to the viewers. “Maybe we’ll go on, and I’ll hash it out with her, and we’ll talk about. But, aside from joking, which I was, is just go out and hash it out with people and have your thoughts and ideas but, be able to still go have a beer with somebody and just say you know hey, we all love this country. And you know, let’s have different ideas but try to move forward and be more together and realize at the end of the day we’re all Americans.”
Later on, when he went home, he decided to make things clear and explain to his fans that he in fact apologized for the language he used, not the feelings he has for Behar.
“I did apologize for the language. Not the sentiment,” the rock star concluded.

The number of people who struggle to make ends meet is huge. The coronavirus pandemic made things even worse for a lot of families who lost their jobs because of all the businesses which were forced to shut down.
Malisa Manguso is a single mother of two boys. Like most other moms in her position, she lives on a budget. Despite that, her children are happy and well-behaved because she teaches them to appreciate the simple things in life.
Some time ago, she and her sons went shopping for new shoes for her older son Zachary. The boy was told to choose wisely because the budget was only $20. “I had the same shoes for about nine months and the bottoms of them were destroyed,” 11-year-old Zach told KTVB.

As Malisa and Zach were discussing his choices, one man overheard their conversation. Lito Mason happened to be buying shoes himself when he heard that Zach only had a buget of $20 for new shoes he desperately needed for school.
“She was working with a budget and I get that, we all get that at this time of the year, back to school. I asked him, ‘so what type of shoes do you like?’ He said ‘I just want something that’s comfortable.’ I was done! At that point, I said I’m going to get him whatever he wants,” Lito shared once the story of the encounter between him and the family went viral.

When this stranger offered to pay for any shoes Zach would pick, Malisa was left speechless. No one has ever done anything like that for her or her boys.
“He just out of the blue looked at me and said, ‘I tell you what, that kid has to have good shoes on his feet and has to be looking good to go to junior high. You just pick out the shoes, and don’t worry about the price,’” Malisa shared with KTVB. “For the first time in a long time, I saw Zachary light up, and be so happy.”

Malisa was extremely thankful, so she asked if she could take a photo of Lito and her son. Lito agreed, not knowing the photo would end up on the Internet, making him a hero.
Once it was posted, someone recognized Lito and tagged him. In no time, he started receiving messages of people who praised him for his kindness.
“I didn’t realize it was going to be such a big deal,” he said. “To see me plastered all over the internet? I’m really a shy guy. It’s just something I wanted to do,” Lito explained. “For one time in his life, I didn’t want him to worry about a price, and it was simple as that.”
Well, you know what they say, even the tiniest act of kindness can go a long way!

Many parents tend to be overprotective, but the thing is that they can’t keep a close eye on their kids at all times. Troy knows all to well that he shouldn’t stay silent if he ever noticed an adult acting weird around kids, and this time, he used that knowledge after he boarded the school bus.
Once in, he noticed something that caught his attention.
Namely, there was a strange odor that he had never smelled before. On top of that, the bus driver, Caroline Denise Ray, drove the bus very carelessly moving erratically from line to line. She even stopped the bus suddenly a couple of times and it made many of the kids fly off their seats.

And as the rest of the kids though that driving was funny, Troy knew they were all in danger. “I was like ok, I’m just going to make that 911 call. Then I made the call,” he said speaking of the incident.
Calling the police was the best thing Troy could do as this decision may saved the lives of all the 30 kids that were in the bus.
After he made the call and told the cops how his bus driver was driving dangerously, they were soon on her route and pulled her bus over.
After they searched her, they discovered she possessed drugs and was under influence.

Although the rest of the kids though calling 911 would stop the “fun” of the careless driving, Troy didn’t see the life-endangerment fun at all.
The bus driver was arrested and charged for child endangerment and driving under influence of drugs and was immediately fired from the job.

Troy truly is a hero. His story should serve as an example that we should all teach our kids to be able to distinguish between what is right and what is wrong.
How far is too far when it comes to plastic surgery? The trend of enhancing the way people look using filers, botox, and various medical procedures has become more and more popular over the years. The truth is that the world we live in is pretty much appearance-focused and people are judged based on the way they look on the outside so it doesn’t come as a surprise that more and more people go under the knife for the sake of looking more attractive and more beautiful.
For some, these beautifying procedures turn into addiction. Such is the case with former Korean model Hand Mioku who disfigured her face to the extent of becoming unrecognizable.
Her photos, along with her life story, spread like a wildfire all over the internet back in the day and although she’s not active on social media, they reemerge from time to time to remind us that that too much of anything is bad.
Information of Mioku’s private life is hard to get to, but what we know of her is that she was born in South Korea on 8 July 1963 and is a mother of two.
During the 80’s, she pursued a career as a model and could be seen in various advertising campaigns. Mioku also worked as a singer and had a beautiful voice. However, as competition in the business was fierce, she felt the urge to enhance her looks even though she had a natural beauty and looked stunning.
Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is also considered the global capital of cosmetic surgery. There are plenty of places where people can have their face and body done. In the Gangnam district of Seoul, there are 500 aesthetic centers alone.

After undergoing her first surgery in her home country, Mioku went to Japan for more procedures. All of a sudden, she couldn’t stop and always felt she needed to beautify herself further. At one point, her parents couldn’t recognize her and told her to stop, but she wouldn’t listen. As time passed by, they realized she needed help from a psychiatrist, but after a couple of sessions they could no longer allow to pay for it and Mioku soon turned to surgeries once again.
Over time, Mioku could no longer find a clinic or a doctor who would agree on giving her another surgery. Eventually, she stumbled upon a doctor who sold her silicone injections and showed her how to inject them herself. However, once she used them she decided to inject cooking oil in her face. It was a mistake so huge that it cost her everything. Her face has become permanently disfigured and there was nothing that could be done for her.
Fearing for her life, she asked from the public to help her raise money and try to save her face. She did receive donations, but there was no going back with the way she looked. Doctors did manage to remove 60 grams of foreign substance from her face and 200 grams from her neck, but that didn’t make much change.
Today, not much is known about Mioku except that she works in a cloths shop. Unfortunately, her face is still disfigured. The saddest part of all is that she did this to herself.

The young Princess might look like her grandma, but her life is quite different than the one the Queen lead at Charlotte’s age. Back in the day, The Palace established the Girl Guides company, the 1st Buckingham Palace Company, so that the Queen could socialize with girls her own age. Princess Charlotte on the other hand attends the same school as her brother Prince George, The Thomas’s Battersea school, which is an independent mixed school in London. She learns all the core subjects, as well as art, ballet, drama, French, and music. The school also offers after-school activities like fencing, pottery, and community gardening.

While we’re on the subject of Queen Elizabeth, she celebrated her 96th birthday on April 21. As per BBC News, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch traveled by helicopter to her Norfolk estate, where she is being joined by family and friends. She is believed to be staying in a cottage particularly liked by her late husband, Prince Philip.
In her honor, a photo of the Queen was released which shows her posing between two immaculate white horses which show her love for these beautiful animals.
Birthday wishes came pouring in. William and Kate shared photos with the caption that the monarch is an “inspiration to so many across the UK, the Commonwealth and the world.”
Born Roberta Joan Anderson on November 7, 1943, in Fort McCloud, Alberta, singer Joni Mitchell wasn’t into music when she was a child. Her father was involved in the music business so her mom wanted her to follow into his footsteps, but Mitchell felt she was more of an artistic type of person and attended art college.
During that period, she would often visit a coffee shop where they played jazz music. She didn’t like it at first, but as much as she listened to it, the more she fell for music. She described herself as the “rock and roller, teeny-bop go-to-dances-on-Saturday-night-type” and didn’t really enjoy the jazz at first.

One night, one particular band caught her attention and she asked the lead singer to teach her how to play the guitar. He said no, so Mitchell decided to learn it herself.
“I went out and bought myself a ukulele because my mother thought that guitar…she sort of associated guitar music with country and western, which was sort of hillbillyish there,” she recalled.
“I bought myself a ukulele and I plunked my way through most of the summer. Then I went off to art college and started playing in a club there with Peter Albling, who was the headliner.”
Soon, she started landing gigs across several cities in Canada and played at folk festivals.

As she was starting her music career, Mitchell met her husband Chuck Mitchell. The two became a duo but their marriage didn’t last long. During those two years they were together, Mitchell, who kept Chuck’s surname after the divorce, gave birth to a daughter she gave up for adoption.
“I had to give her up for adoption. You know, like, ’cause I couldn’t get enough money together,” she added.
“I married this guy, you know, in order to kind of keep her, and then I thought, ‘No, no, no. This is not a good home. I don’t want to bring — she’s better off elsewhere, you know, than to come in on this. I’ve got to get out of this marriage. It’s not working,’ you know. We married each other for the wrong reasons, you know. Both of us.”

Leaving her daughter affected Mitchell a lot, but she felt it was the right thing to do at the time. However, he two met 32 years later, in 1997.
“I’ve had pain and joy in my life but nothing like this,” Mitchell said at the time of the reunion. “It’s an unparalleled emotional feeling.”
Her daughter, Kilauren Gibb, was as overwhelmed to meet her long lost mother.
“It was wonderful, it was a great relief to me in every way, it made me feel whole,” Kilauren said. “It made me feel complete. I don’t have any expectations. I didn’t come into this thing with expectations, I just wanted to find my mom.”
One of the best and most famous songs Mitchell released, Both Sides, Now, was about her daughter and everything that preceded her decision to give her up for adoption.
Both Sides, Now became a massive hit. Music icons such as Judy Collins, Neil Diamond, and Frank Sinatra covered this incredible piece of music.

During the 1970’s, Mitchell hung out with a number of starts in Los Angeles, Lauren Canyon, and Lookout Mountain, which were considered a legendary places. She was friends with Mama Cass from The Mamas and the Papas, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, Tom Petty, Carole King, and Eric Clapton.
“It was unique that so many musicians lived so close together, let alone so many musicians who became successful. … It was really a place and time that could never happen again, it was just fortuitous and serendipitous,” Johnny Echols from the band Love told San Diego Union Tribune.

Over the course of her career, Joni Mitchell released 19 studio albums, won nine Grammy Awards and received 17 nominations. In 1997, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Ten years later, she entered the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Today, Joni Mitchell doesn’t perform because of the health issues she suffered. When she was very young, Mitchell contracted polio and ended up in a wheelchair.
“My spine was twisted up like a train wreck. I couldn’t walk. I was paralyzed. Forty years later, it comes back with a vengeance,” she said in 1995.
“It’s like multiple sclerosis. It means your electrical system burns out and your muscles begin to atrophy. It means impending paraplegia.”

Today, she suffers from a skin disease she describes as an “outer space condition.”
Morgellons Disease, Mitchell was diagnosed with, is characterized by sores, crawling sensations on and under the skin, and fiber-like filaments emerging from the sores, according to the Mayo Clinic.
“I have this weird, incurable disease that seems like it’s from outer space, but my health’s the best it’s been in a while,” Mitchell told the Los Angeles Times in 2010.
“Two nights ago, I went out for the first time since December 23: I don’t look so bad under incandescent light, but I look scary under daylight.
“Fibers in a variety of colors protrude out of my skin like mushrooms after a rainstorm: they cannot be forensically identified as animal, vegetable or mineral. Morgellons is a slow, unpredictable killer — a terrorist disease: it will blow up one of your organs, leaving you in bed for a year. But I have a tremendous will to live: I’ve been through another pandemic — I’m a polio survivor, so I know how conservative the medical body can be,” she added.

In 2015, she suffered a brain aneurysm which left her in a wheelchair temporarily.
Luckily, she is feeling better now. On April 3, 2022, she appeared at the 2022 Grammy Awards in Las Vegas where she received the award for Best Historical Album for her album Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967).

A married man, Jack, wakes up with a huge hangover after a night out drinking with the boys.
He doesn’t even remember how he got home from the party.
“Oh, damn,” he thinks to himself, wondering if he did something wrong the night before.
Jack had to force himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins next to a glass of water on the nightstand.
Jack sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed.
He takes the aspirins, and then cringes when he sees a huge black eye staring back at him in the bathroom mirror.
Then he notices a note hanging on the corner of the mirror written in red with little hearts on it and a kiss mark from his wife in lipstick: “Dear husband, last night you came home drunk and made a huge racket. But don’t worry! Breakfast is on the stove. I left early to get groceries to make your favorite dinner tonight. I love you, darling! Love, Jillian”
He stumbles into the kitchen and sure enough, there is hot breakfast, steaming hot coffee, and the morning newspaper all waiting for him. His son is also at the table, eating.
Jack asks, “Son… what happened last night?”
The truth is revealed
“Well, you came home after three in the morning, drunk and out of your mind. You fell over the coffee table and broke it, and then you threw up in the hallway, and got that black eye when you ran into the door.”
Confused, he asks his son, “So, why is your mother in such a good mood, and why is there breakfast on the table waiting for me?”
His son replies, “Oh THAT! Well, when Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and tried to take your pants off, you screamed, ’Leave me alone, I’m married! I’m married!’”
Jack was so relieved that he started crying!

Expecting a child is a reason enough to be extremely happy and a chance to be a proud parent. Finding out that you expect triplets is a reason plus to be extraordinarily excited. The young Howard family found out that they are going to be proud parents of three babies, but that happiness was dampened by a terrible news. All three babies suffered from an extremely rare medical condition called craniosynostosis.
The medical condition is very rare and it affects 1 in 2,500. The babies develop unusual shape of the skull, and therefore they have strange head features. Nowadays, the patients suffering from craniosynostosis usually find the cure by undergoing several corrective surgeries. Doctors recommend immediate assistance in order to avoid further possible brain damage.
The innocent newborns, Hunter, Jackson and Kaden, faced up with the harshness of life from the moment they were welcomed into the world. Soon after their birth, the doctors concluded that Hunter and Jackson, besides sharing the identical physical characteristics, shared protruded skulls as well. Young Kaden, on the other hand, had triangular form of the head. The unusual physical appearance of the babies forced them to undergo several surgeries that helped them look ‘normal’.
Referring to this medical condition, Dr. David Chesler explains:
“Your skull is made up of plates, it’s not a single bone. If the seams join together too early, the brain can be put under pressure. … That can be detrimental to the brain, the vision, the life of the child. It’s not imminently life-threatening, but it can cause real consequences down the road.”
And so, at just 11 weeks old, Hunter, Jackson and Kaden underwent surgery. Mr. Howards adds:
“I was very freaked out. Any time you have to put the baby [in an operating room], it’s a little crazy.”

A number of dogs who end up in shelters spend their days wondering whether someone would chose them to be their furry pal for life. Many never experience the joy of being part of a loving family, but they never lose hope, just like Ace, the senior dog from our story.
The sad reality is that older dogs are most times overlooked and are not even given a chance to show the potential adopters how much love they can give.
Ace, who was abandoned by his family of many years, however, was lucky enough to be noticed by a woman named Bonnie who has fostered a number of dogs throughout the years. What caught her attention was Ace’s glassy eye and his failing teeth. This kindhearted woman knew she could give this poor soul a new lease on life, despite Ace being 19 years old already.

Once in his foster home, Ace got to meet the rest of Bonnie’s dogs, but he didn’t feel comfortable enough in order to approach closer at first.
“When I first brought Ace home, he was very aloof.” Bonnie told the animal channel The Dodo, “He didn’t solicit attention. Didn’t seem to care if I pet him or not.”

Over time, Ace started feeling like home, and as much as that made Bonnie happy, it was also breaking her heart because she knew this loving dog would be there only until potential adopters showed up.
When the time came for Ace to be moved to a permanent home, he experienced problems with his teeth and had to undergo a surgery, so the adoption was delayed for later. In the meantime, Bonnie realized that she couldn’t let Ace leave. She could feel deep down that this dog belonged with her.

“When he first came up and put his head on my lap and started nuzzling me, it tugged at my heart.” She shared with The Dodo, “That is when I decided that I was going to adopt him.”

What looked like just another routine traffic control made officer Mitch Ross a hero who saved the day and the life of a 15-year-old victim of kidnapping.
While this patrol officer was on the job, he made a driver pull over on I-80 west in Lucas County, Ohio, and that decision turned fateful. What he was planning on doing was giving the man behind the wheel a “failure to move” citation only, but then, something attracted his attention. In the back seat, there was a 15-year-old girl. When he asked about her, the man couldn’t answer, because neither he nor the girl could speak English. On top of that, they didn’t have any documents or identification.

This raised suspicion and officer Ross decided to get the help of a translator from OSHP just to make sure something wasn’t wrong.
Moments later, it was determined that the girl was from New Jersey and was reported missing. The driver, who was 35 years old, was planning on taking her to Chicago. Luckily, officer Ross prevented that from taking place. He alerted his department of the case and soon after, the girl was taken to safety. Speaking to the authorities, she admitted she was forced “to perform acts” on her kidnapper. She also received medical help.
As for the kidnapper, he was taken to the Lucas County jail and is facing charges of abduction. We hope he will get what he deserves and will never again hurt an innocent child.

But then, a man named Peter Mutabazi came across Anthony’s path when he least expected and changed his life.

Peter had a hard childhood. He used to live with an abusive father in a secluded village near Rwanda and Uganda. The ordeals he was forced to go through during his young years made him vow he would help children who experience hardship in life.
Once in the U.S., Peter started a successful real estate business in Oklahoma and he could finally afford to make his dream of helping kids in need of love and a family come true.

Peter’s journey into fostering began with two brothers whom he grew fond of the moment he meet them. However, taking care of them didn’t last long as the Family Court decided to reunite them with their biological parents.
Peter was happy for them, but at the same time he felt heartbroken to be separated from them. So when he was contacted about a boy who he was supposed to look after “just for the weekend” he hesitated whether to agree or not.
Eventually, he said yes, but decided not to ask anything about the boy’s background. That’s when Anthony entered Peter’s life.

What Peter didn’t know was that “just over the weekend” would in fact turn into a lifetime.

Speaking of Anthony, Peter said:
“Never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate I would be parenting the child of two parents who had led lives that passed the extensive background check standards involved with parenting foster children, only just to abandon not one, but two of their children.”

Once Anthony met Peter, he referred to him as ‘Dad.’ But Peter told him not to call him like that because he didn’t want to get too attached to someone that would be in his home for just 48 hours.
“I told him he could call me ‘Mr. Peter’ and 20 minutes after his arrival, he asked if he could call me ‘Dad.’ What? I didn’t even know his last name, yet he was asking to call me ‘Dad.’ This was not typical, as most children in foster care initially want to remind you that you are not their father and ‘never will be.’ This child I had just met was not even presenting that argument.”

When Monday arrived, Peter couldn’t help but ask the social worker about Anthony’s life. The answer he got broke his heart into a million pieces. He could never imagine how this loving boy was abandoned twice, once by his biological parents and the other time by his cruel adopters.
Peter didn’t even know it was legal for adoptive parents to get rid of the kids just like that.

The social worker added how Anthony’s case was simply labeled as a “failed adoption.” It was then that Peter knew he couldn’t be another person who would fail this boy who has gone through so much.
“They signed an agreement relinquishing their parental rights and never looked back. I was completely shocked! I could not believe what I was hearing. I began to cry out of anger for what these people had done to this 11-year-old child.”

“I refused to allow him to be cast aside again. Besides, he was already calling me ‘Dad.’ I asked the social worker to provide me with a placement letter so I could enroll him in school the following day. She asked me about 100 times if I was serious and we both cried tears of joy.”
It only took a couple of months for Anthony to become Peter’s legal son. The two were over the moon they found each other. And although it looked at first that this amazing man saved the fragile boy, the truth was that they saved each other.

“This is the blessing I am most thankful for in my life. It has been an amazing journey. I’m amazed at how resilient and positive he is, despite all that he has had to endure,” Peter said.

16-year-old Crystal Allen experienced a real hell after she was kidnapped and used in sex trafficking.

She was repeatedly drugged and abused and scared for her life. One day, however, she managed to escape from her captors’ car and hid behind a bush, completely confused and unable to stop crying. It was then when a postal worker named Ivan Crisostomo heard her.

Ivan was on the job and on his regular route in Sacramento. When he heard the cries he approached closer and saw the trembling girl who kept saying, “They are coming to get me.” She was pointing to her arm and told Ivan how they were putting things inside her. At first, he had no idea what was going on, but quickly realized that Crystal was a sex trafficking victim.
He got scared as well as he had no idea what kind of people were looking for the teen, but he knew he had to help her and let her in his van until police arrived.

In the meantime, Crystal called her mother from Ivan’s phone. Speaking to KPIX, the worried mother recalled the call and said, “She was frantic. I didn’t know what was going on. I couldn’t even talk to her, she was that upset.”

Crystal later told Ivan how she was lured by a friend to Sacramento and that’s how she ended up with the captors. The good thing was that she could now leave all that behind as she was free thanks to the kind postal worker.
Deputy David Cuneo of Sacramento County Sherrif’s Department spoke of Ivan’s brave action. “What Ivan did was wonderful. He stepped up where a lot of people would have just continued driving down the road, and he made a huge positive impact on this young girl’s life.”

Those people who never forget what others did for them while they were going through tough times are the best people. One such special person is a man named Kevin who used to spend his days at a West Seneca, New York corner, asking strangers and passersby for some money.
His sign which said that he was a war veteran, drug-free, alcohol-free and looking for a job was recently replaced with another one and it warmed many people’s hearts. The new sign placed where Kevin stayed during the past couple of months said: “Thank you everyone who has helped. I start working Monday.”
According to neighbors in the area, a man named Kevin had been standing at the intersection almost daily for months…until now.
One of the local residents, Jesse Dixon, who often stopped to help Kevin, spoke to WKBW-TV and described him as a very nice guy.
“It seemed like he, you know, hit a patch of, you know, patch of bad luck, so we were just trying to help him through it. If I didn’t see him for two or three days at a time, it was unusual. Like I said, I usually… usually saw him at least a couple times a week,” she said.
Those who were willing to offer Kevin a helping hand were grateful for the sign and the kind message.

Jesse added that she was extremely happy for Kevin, and Megan Bingham, co-chair of the annual local Project Homeless Connect event, described his act as heartwarming. “Here’s a man who is so grateful to have found a job that he left a sign for anyone who’s helped him over the last, you know, however many months,” she told WKBW-TV. “I mean, that gives me goosebumps.”

With eight Grammy awards under his belt, Genesis drummer and lead singer Phil Collins is one of the most prominent musicians there are. He is one of only three musicians, alongside Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney, who have sold more than 100 million albums both as a solo act and a member of a band.
Born on January 30, 1951 in London, England to parents who possessed creative spirits, Collins fell in love with making music.
When he was just five, his uncle made him a drum kit out of tambourines, triangles, cymbals and toy drums, Collins recalled. “The old cliché is, ‘Well, at least it will keep him quiet’,” he told Interview Magazine.
Soon after, he found himself performing in shows at his parents’ boating club.
“When I started playing seriously, the English beat thing was just happening, the Shadows and bands like that. It was the very early ’60s,” Collins recalled.
“I remember buying Please Please Me. I used to put the record player on very loud and set up my drums so I was facing the mirror, that way you don’t look at what you’re doing.
“Then when I was fourteen I went to a teacher to learn to read drum music. I figured when this rock-and-roll thing finished I would have to make a living playing in a dance band or in an orchestra pit. So I learned to read drum music, but I found that my capacity for reading was not anywhere near as good as actually playing by instinct.”

It was in the 1970 that Collin’s life changed forever. He was already playing in some bands when he came across an ad by a group called Genesis which was looking for a drummer. He decided to get in touch with them and the rest is history. In the first years of Collins being part of it, the group released five albums with singles that reached the charts.
After the founder and lead singer of Genesis left the group, Collins took his place. He was both a singer and a drummer. Speaking of his new role, he said he didn’t really feel comfortable, but as the group failed to find a singer, he simply stepped in.
Besides being a member of Genesis, Collins also had a very impressive solo career. With smash hits such as In The Air Tonight, You Can’t Hurry Love and I Don’t Care Anymore he soon became one of the best in the music industry.
When he decided to leave the group and focus on his solo career, Collins said: “Having been with Genesis for 25 years, I felt it time to change direction in my musical life.
“For me now it will be music for movies, some jazz projects and of course my solo career. I wish the guys in Genesis all the very best in their future. We remain the best of friends.”
However, in 2017, he decided to reunite with the band. Last year, they announced a world tour, The Last Domino, but had to put it on hold because of the pandemic.

And as fans were looking forward to seeing the group on stage together, Collins gave an interview with BBC Breakfast which made many concerned about his health. He and his band mates announced that it will be Collins’ son Nicholas who would do the drumming and Collins will only sing.
“Nic is a great drummer, but he is capable of sounding like early Phil. For Mike and I, that was always quite exciting,” Genesis band member Tony Banks said.
“It means you can play some of the songs that you haven’t played with Phil as the drummer for a long time.”

Speaking of why he’s not getting behind the drums, the musician revealed: “I’d love to but you know, I mean, I can barely hold a stick with this hand. So there are certain physical things that get in the way.
“I’m kind of physically challenged a bit which is very frustrating because I’d love to be playing up there with my son,” adding that he doesn’t know if he wants to be touring any longer.
“We’re all men of our age, and I think to some extent, I think it probably is putting it to bed,” he said. “I think yeah, I think just generally for me, I don’t know if I want to go out on the road anymore.”

During the past few years, Collins experienced certain health issues which left him struggling to get on his feet. Speaking to Billboard, he revealed that after a surgery in 2009, he was left with dislocated vertebra, nerve damage. He had also suffered a foot fracture that left him feeling like he’s walking “on sticks.”
The life of Terri Calvesbert from Ipswich, England, changed forever when she was just an 18-month-old baby. Today, she is considered a fighter who never gave up on her life and her future.
Around the time she turned one and a half, Terri suffered a horrible incident. Her mother, Julie, had a hard time putting the baby to sleep. “She was normally such a brilliant sleeper, so I didn’t understand why she wouldn’t settle,” Julie recalled in an interview with The Sun. Not knowing what to do, Julie decided to let the girl tire herself out and left the room forgetting she placed her burning cigarette there. “I never smoked in the flat, but this one night I did. I don’t know why to this day, I did such a stupid thing.”
Shortly after, Julie heard Terri screaming so she went back to the room. At that point, the entire place was filled with smoke and everything was caught on fire.

In a state of panic, she immediately called 911.
“I remember running into the kitchen and getting a bowl and filling it with water and throwing it into the bedroom, but it made no difference. So many people have said to me since that I should have gone in there and got her. But I panicked,” Julie recalled of that horrible night.
Terri suffered horrific burns on 90 percent of her body and no one believed she would survive.
“I have never seen anybody with extreme burns to that degree,” firefighter Simon Bevan, who saved Terri, said in the Channel 5 documentary, The Girl With 90% Burns. When he spotted her, he thought she was a charred plastic doll.
“She was so badly burnt I could not extend her neck to resuscitate her, and her body was totally rock hard. No one was expecting Terri to survive.”

Terri spent six months at the St. Andrews hospital in Chelmsford, England, and required more than 40 skin grafts. Until the age of 12, she had undergone 60 surgeries and her survival was dubbed a miracle. Sadly, Terri lost her hair, her nose, her fingers, and one of her feet.
During the time she was fighting for her life, her mother, filled with guilt, left Terri an her father. Luckily, Terri’s dad, Paul, is one of the best and most caring people there are.
“My dad stays with me and takes me down to the operating theatre, but all the operations scare me and they hurt a lot,” Terri said in the past.
“The last operation I had was on my left hand, to open out my fingers, but that was horrible because it got infected and I was really sick. I need eye drops too and because I didn’t have them put in that time, my eyes were sore too,” she added.

For her bravery and determination to regain her life back, Terri was awarded a Pride of Britain child of courage award by the Duchess of York in 2004.
With the help of her dad, she achieved many things. Terri was able to go to school where she made many friends who never teased her for her appearance but accepted her for who she is.
Terri moved on with her life. She even forgave her mother for leaving her. Years after the accident, Julie contacted Terri’s father and asked to see her daughter. Having such a big heart as she does, Terri agreed and the two see each other every now and then even today.

“My mum phoned Dad after she heard he was getting married to his girlfriend Nicky and said she wanted to see me,” Terri recalled when she was 12 years old.
“Now I see her every few weeks at my grandma’s house. It’s not weird at all, it’s just normal. We talk about things like what I’m doing at school. I’m not angry with her about the fire.
“I just think I’m lucky because I see my mum and then there’s Nicky too. It’s like I have two mums instead of one.”

Over the years, Terri received support from those close to her as well as from complete strangers. The fund set up to help her with the expenses helped raise around $500,000 from 1999 to 2012.
“The trust fund has been amazing, I have lost count of how much money people have raised for me,” Terri told Ipswich Star. “I even get messages now on Facebook still, with people from Canada or America, which is crazy. It means so much to me.”

Today, 25-year-old Terri is happily married to her “best friend.” The two met through Facebook some years ago and have been together ever since. Terri is a mom of five-year-old daughter Poppy-Mae.
“It’s scary to be a mum and I never thought I would be able to be one. But it is great and I love it. She’s a good girl,” Terri shared with the Ipswich Star.
She is happy and loves her family to the moon and back. “I wouldn’t take my leg off at first in front of Richard,” Terri shared. “But he made me feel really comfortable very quickly and now I take my wig and my leg off at night. He really does love me.”
After everything she went through, Terri truly deserves the life she has today with her husband and daughter. “There have been difficult times over the years going through so many painful operations, but I’m so proud I’ve got to this point,” this brave woman says.
Valerie Bertinelli, the Hot in Cleveland star, was married to Eddie Van Halen, the main songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist of the rock band Van Halen, for over 20 years.
Their love story started unexpectedly and Valerie described it as love at first sight. Being a child actress, she has enjoyed fame her entire life so during one of Van Halen’s concerts back in 1980, her brothers made her go with them because they wanted to use her popularity in order to go backstage and meet the band members. After hesitating for a while, she agreed to go and that’s when she met Eddie for the first time.

In 1990, the couple welcomed son Wolfgang, who is their only child.
On the outside, their romance resembled a picture-perfect one, although people close to them claimed things were different behind closed doors. According to some, Valerie and Eddie fought often, despite the enormous love they had for one another.
They stayed together for 20 years, until 2001, but their divorce wasn’t finalized until 2007. A year later, Valerie spoke openly of the reasons which led to her separation from Eddie. She said it was part because of his alleged infidelities and drug addiction, and part because of their son. They couldn’t pretend everything was fine between them in front of Wolfgang any longer and called it quits.
Just a year after the divorce, they both married other people but if reports are to be believed, their endearment for one another never diminished to the point of fading away completely.
Valerie married financial planner and entrepreneur, Tom Vitale, while Eddie tied the knot with stuntwoman and wrestling manager Janie Liszewski.
Unfortunately, Eddie died of throat cancer on October 6, 2020, aged 65, after a long and tiring battle. The news about his passing were confirmed by Wolfgang who wrote Eddie was the best dad he could ever ask for.

During his travel to Germany for his treatments, Eddie bought Valerie a pendant-sized gold bar for Thanksgiving 2019. People close to him said at the time that the gift was sort of apology for the mistakes he made during the 20 years they spent together. She, too, accepted responsibility for some of their issues.
Valerie visited Eddie on a daily basis during the final weeks of his life that he spent at the hospital. Both she and Wolfgang were said to be by his side during his final moments. His last words to them were that he loved them, AmoMama reported.
Following his passing, Valerie paid tribute to Eddie by writing that he was the person who changed her life forever. She said she only remembers the best of him. She reportedly regrets not spending more time with him during his battle with cancer.
Humans and animals have created incredible relationship over the years. We don’t only speak about the domesticated animals that we keep as pets, such as cats and dogs, but some wild creatures too.
There are plenty of remarkable stories of humans stepping in for animals when they need it the most. Whether it is a case of a lost creature, a drowning one, or else, some people never hesitate to offer a helping hand, even if that brings a risk on its own.
A Colorado Springs man named Todd Dierdorff and his wife were left puzzled when they heard strange noises coming from outside. After inspecting around the house, they saw a fawn in distress. The little one was trapped in a window well on the side of their home and was crying for help.
Todd knew he needed to get the fawn out but wasn’t sure how to do that so he called a wildlife rescue and asked for some tips. They were kind enough to provide him with instructions so he could take the fawn to safety without hurting it or getting hurt himself. As he stepped into the bushes and approached the animal, its mother appeared out of nowhere and watched Todd releasing her baby.
The deer’s reaction when she saw her fawn running towards her was an incredible one. You can check it out in the video below.
Indiana state police have released an image of a suitcase with a distinctive Las Vegas design in which the body of a child was found earlier this week.
Following the autopsy, authorities believe the child was around five years old. The body belonged to a black boy who was around 4ft tall, with a slender built and short haircut.
The suitcase was found in dense woodland located in the eastern part of Washington County by a local resident who went mushroom hunting on Saturday, Newsweek reports.
Along with the photo, police wrote: “Tragically, the child was located inside a closed hard case suitcase.”
They believe that the child could be from any part of the country. “This obviously could be a national thing,” said Sergeant Carey Huls of the Indiana state police.
“It could be a child from any location. We’re not going to preclude anybody, and we’re going to look at any information that comes in that could answer the question of the identity of this child.”

Authorities hope that the photo of the suitcase could potentially lead to more information about the deceased boy. So far, no further details have been revealed as the name and the identity of the boy remain a mystery.
The police is asking citizens to come forwards in case they are familiar with a missing child. They set up a tip line and have received around 200 calls so far, but none seems to be related to the case in question.
“We just need the public’s help in relaying this information,” Mr Huls said.
Right now, police are visiting locals schools within Washington County to see if there are cases of students at the age of five who have stopped attending school regularly recently.
We truly hope those responsible for this horrific case would get what they deserve.
I am glad that most people are aware of the sacrifice our military men and women make. Most of them put their life on the line each and every day and miss out on a lot of important events such as family gatherings, holidays, birthdays, and a lot more. Many of them don’t even get to witness when their children reach important milestones. That is the reason why we should always pay our utmost respect to these members of our society.
However, as most adults are grateful for everything the servicemen and servicewomen do, most little children are unaware of the importance of their duty.
6-year-old boy named Jace Vega, however, certainly knows how brave and protective our soldiers are.
As he and his mom were at the San Antonio International Airport waiting for Jace’s father to return from a trip to Colorado Springs, the first grader noticed a group of soldiers passing by. Without thinking twice, he stood still and saluted the servicemen.
When asked why he had given the salute, sweet Jace answered: “Because they fight for our country.”
The photo of him paying respect was shared by the Fox San Antonio and was seen by thousands of people who praised Jose’s act as well as his mom and dad’s parenting.
“Why don’t you tell them [the station] what you told me that maybe you want to be a soldier someday, right?” the boy’s father asked his son, to which the boy responded: “Yep.”
“A couple of companies have reached out to us and some other people just reached out to my wife,” the father said. “They want to use his picture in the airport somewhere in Florida. A couple of locally owned veteran companies who do shirts, that’s locally owned and operated, they’re going to do a couple of shirts with him.”
Way to go, Jace. Your patriotic spirit is such an inspiration.
Teachers are those special people who help shape little minds and educate our children, thus help them become respected individuals.
Unfortunately, not every teaches is a good teacher. There are also those who treat the students with disrespect and crush their self-confidence.
Recently, an incident which took place in a classroom in China enraged many people. A secondary school student from he Suyu High School named Xiaochen came home from school with huge red marks on his face which resembled palm prints. When his parents asked him what had happened to his face, he told them that one of his teacher slapped him forcefully 12 times. Apparently, Xiaochen was chatting to another student during what was supposed to be a self-study time and the teacher dragged him from his seat and started slapping him in front of the entire class. According to one of Xiaochen’s classmates, the teacher first slapped a girl before hitting Xiaochen. This cruelty caused a concussion to Xiaochen. A few blood vessels near his eye burst and he is being treated at the hospital for the injuries that he sustained.

Xiaochen also suffered temporary hearing loss.

According to local magazines, the teacher was already dismissed by the Ministry of Education.
The school agreed to cover Xiaochen’s medical expenses. There are no reports whether the teacher will face any charges, despite the student’s parents’ plea for him to be charged for hitting their son.
Daily Mail shared the story and people couldn’t help but take a stand. They all agree that no teacher should ever hit a student. There is always a way to approach a problem without any form of violence being used.
Every teacher should serve as a role model and never ever act in an aggressive manner in the classroom.
Some people commented that this form of behavior is not that unusual in China, but we can never know that for sure.
Five-month-old baby died in a freak accident after her mother, who carried her in a career, ducked in an attempt to avoid an aggressive magpie in Queensland, Australia. Unfortunately, the mother tripped and fell, which caused fatal injuries to the baby named Mia. The girl’s father, Jacob, called emergency services and the little one was rushed to the hospital, but to no avail. Mia died and left her parents in devastation.
Mia was described as a happy and cheerful little baby. Sadly, she was taken away from her family way too soon.
Father Jacob said of his sweet baby that she “brought joy to everyone’s lives with her infectious smile, her pure innocence and her adorable laugh.”
“Our whole world has been taken from us and the pain we are experiencing is unimaginable,” he shared with Daily Mail. “We are so grateful for the most precious gift we ever received.”

The magpie which attacked Mia’s mother, Simone, was released as they are protected species.
These birds can grow up to a feet long and are extremely aggressive during breeding season. They would attack anyone who gets close to their nests, even when the person is simply walking past them, not trying to approach them or hurt them.
Jacob and Simone’s family started a GoFundMe to help the family with the funeral expenses as well as other expenses as neither Jacob nor Simone were able to get back to work for some time since losing their daughter.

No words can begin to describe the torture Jacob and Simone are going through.
“Beautiful Mia, at only five young months of age, grew her little angel wings and left this world for the final time, shattering everyone’s hearts, and crushing Jacob and Simone’s world in the blink of an eye.”
The death of baby Mia “has shocked the community to the absolute core,” Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said.
“This is something no one wants to see happen, something that has never happened before and something we want to make sure never happens again.
“Swooping magpies are part of Australian life. There are not many people in Brisbane that haven’t been swooped by magpies at some stage in their life,” Schrinner added.
