A first job is a big deal, we all remember our first job, it’s memorable, it’s also the first time as teenagers we learn about responsibility too. Every teenager is excited about that first step out into the real world, right?

This one girl was especially excited about a first job, even more than most, she’s not your typical teenager though, she is hard working and regularly participates in within the community.

She also happens to be a varsity cheerleader too, as well as spending time helping at the concession stand too in the snack store of the little league, she is both driven and well achieved, also she has downs syndrome.

This girl had never let her special needs interfere with the way of anything she does. Recently Julia decided that she really wanted a job, to become independent!

So working for the Chick-fil-A was the most awesome and best way for her to do it, a great way to achieve her dreams of independence.

Julia had everyone’s support, and she applied for the job…

Julia’s mom, Kerri, said:

“Several kids at school wrote unsolicited letters of recommendation for her …and a couple of other kids helped her choose outfits and drove her to the interview.”

She practiced her interview technique and what she might say in the interview with her teachers, then two official interviews with the business too. Then, at last, she was ready to get an answer…

Her mom posted the phone call where she actually gets the decision!!

Julia answered the call, she said her name, her mom advised her a little on what to do when getting the call, she seemed to be really nervous, but excited to in finding out the answer…

Wow, she got the job, Julia’s face lit up when she heard the news. She even had to cover her face with her had she was so excited, her new employer discussed her next steps with her briefly too…

The whole family was eager to know, they had been waiting for her and they too were completely delighted for her too. Her brother, now the cameraman, showed the whole family and their excitement too

When Julia heard her when her first day of work would be, she almost started crying. This job meant so much to her, and she was finally able to add it on to her long list of accomplishments.

Her mom said:

“Julia Hock is a working woman! …After two interviews, lots of interview practice with her teachers, and a team of her friends helping her pick outfits and putting in a good word, Julia was hired. So proud of our girl!”

It just goes to show us all that with enough determination and persistence we can get the thing we want in life, just put in a little hard work like Julia!

One thing that is certainly not an answer to anything is violence, however, some people believe that it can have a place as an effective solution, like self-defense, used correctly of course. A little boy, who had been bullied so much had finally found the strength to defend himself. You can decide if he did the right thing…

The boy had been a constant target since his school year started, every day the same student would be there to taunt him. The boy, the victim in all this, never once looked to get revenge for the actions against him.

One day though the bully took things one step too far, an Imgur user called ‘wolverineprostateexams’ decided to share the story about how his cousin finally stood up for himself once and for all!

The cousin said:

“Last Friday was the final straw …Bully was blocking my cousin from getting on the bus. There is a video of my cousin repeatedly telling the bully to move.”

He tried asking nicely, that the bully would stop, but of course that didn’t work at all, then, of course, the bully started to get violent with him…

“…(the) bully then pushed my cousin with enough force [that] he trips. As my cousin tries to get up bully kicks my cousin in the stomach and punches him in the face when he tries to get up again.”

The boy really had enough now, after all, we all have our limits of what we can endure before we snap!

The cousin continues again:

“My cousin rushed his bully and proceeded to beat the living crap out of him”

The little boy’s family saw that the moment was a turning point, the tables had finally turned and the bully was firmly set to rights.

Unfortunately, though, the school saw things in a different light, they took both students and dragged them to the principals’ office, they were BOTH give three days suspension!?

The boy was the victim in this could really not believe this at all, I mean, doesn’t every person in the eyes of the law has the right to defend themselves and use reasonable force to do so?

His parents were really unhappy and showed it the only way they knew how…

One of the family said:

“My uncle makes it clear he will not be punishing my cousin and the three days will be leisure days”

This really upset the bullies family, of course, they demanded that the victim in all this be expelled, even after seeing a video of their son beating the boy in question while he was pinned to the floor!?!?

The boy’s father even asked his cousin to take him out for the day, for a fun day out, on his final day of suspension, he was the victim after all?

The cousin said:

“I’m going to take him go-karting and to see an R rated movie,” the kid told his viewers. “He defended himself and I’m proud of him.”

A really heartwarming and lovely moment was captured in this video, at dinner in a place called Racine in Wisconsin. This US veteran had a really wired moment chatting with the waiter!

The Guy had assumed that the waiter was just a waiter, of course, who wouldn’t right?

You can see in the video that the 90-year-old guy, a veteran from World War II is sat down to have breakfast with his family…

The waiter walks over to them and serves them coffee, then he begins talking to him.

After he has noted what he wants to eat and drink, the apparent waiter says to him:

“Well, you got room for one more?”

A pretty odd question to ask a stranger, don’t you think?

the veteran replies:

“I’ll let you know”

Then the waiter asks:

“You don’t recognize me?”

The veteran exclaims, of course, says:

“No… I’m legally blind!”

He really doesn’t twig that the waiter is really not the waiter at all, it’s his grandson and he hasn’t seen the boy for months!

The young man said:

“My whole life I’ve been extremely close with my grandpa, as he is the only male role model that I’ve had”

The young man then goes on to say that he moved from Wisconsin to Florida and had not been able to see his grandpa in months, so he flew up to give him the surprise of his life!

The message seems to take a little while to sink in though …

A baby’s first words are always special and for most children that tend to be the usual ‘Mama’ or ‘Dada’. For sure, the parent who has their little boy or girl say their name first feels especially special, but for this one family, it happened it little differently!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit them, and like most grandparents encourage their little one to say their first word, but for the little one, ‘Mama’ and ‘Dada’ really don’t seem to be words he wants to say!!

These sweet and quite definitely very loving Grandparents could not be more proud of their beautiful grandson, his little ‘coo’ and ‘goo’ sounds are really lovely. Most of all though they are excited to try to get him to speak and say his first words…

Funnily though his very first word is a completely unexpected surprise, everyone is completely stunned for a brief moment after he says the words, did they hear him right?

Yep, they certainly did hear him right, he really said it…

Just before Grandma had been saying to him:

“Say, Mama. Do you want to?”

“Do you want to say milk?”

After a few tries Grandpa has a genius moment, and without too much thought says something unexpected…

Grandpa looked straight to his Grandson and said:

“Taco!”

The little one paused and with a carefully thought out movement of his mouth, looking at grandpa’s amusement at the word he says the word!

As it just happens to be, the family have a cat called Taco and it’s the cat’s honor to have baby say his name! A big thanks goes to Grandpa and the cat from this really hilarious and great moment caught on camera!

Looks like this little one feels quite close to the cat!

Bethani and Tim Webb met for the first time and Bethani knew that things were going to be different, how he smiled, his great passion for life and grandeur dreams pulled Bathani to him. So the fact that Tim felt the same was a relief, two years later Tim asked him to marry her…

They really had no idea how their lives would be turned inside out just a few short weeks after their wedding day!

After that period of a warm glow came to an end, Tim and Bethani began to discuss what the future was going to look like for them both as a couple. Were they going to buy a house, were they going to have pets? Would they have children?

Bethani told the news channels that she was happy to start trying for a family right away, but Tim preferred to wait for a little and enjoy their time together as newlyweds.

She said:

“My husband definitely wanted to wait a year. I was fine with whenever it ended up happening, but then we found out we were very excited, only thinking we were having one…”

Bethani realized that she was pregnant and they shot straight to the doctors to have an ultrasound!

…but what happened next in the doctor’s office was going to be something they will remember for the all of their lives!

The tech positioned the ultrasound wand scanner over her stomach at precisely the correct angle, then announced, to both of them, that they were going to be having quadruplets!

Bethani said:

“I could not believe it, I was in such shock. Honestly, I thought the ultrasound tech was joking. I couldn’t believe it… It was a good thing that my husband was sitting down because he almost fainted.”

Neither of them had a history of this in their families because they conceived naturally it was even rarer! The couple realized that having four identical girls happens once in fifteen million pregnancies!

They were very grateful that the remainder of Bethani’s pregnancy went really smooth and she had four identical girls, McKayla, Grace, Abigail, and Emily…

The couple was in luck that the community all grouped together and helped them, people in their hometown started a fundraiser and ensure that they didn’t want for anything, how awesome!

She said:

“It’s really amazing because there would be no way we could do this by ourselves”

Neighbors as well as family members and even complete strangers all helped and looked after the couple any way they could, the couple knew things were going to be hard though!

They are both coming to the realization that they now have children together and even though they never imagined it, they are both getting stuck in and making the most of their new position.

Bethani said to the News:

“I think my husband has gotten used to the idea that there are four babies, but I don’t think he’s gotten used to the idea that there are four identical girls”

There will be arguments like all couples have, some hard and sad times too, but in the years to come, they know it will be worth it all.

The girls are growing day by day and they will become fine young women one day, their proud parents will be there with them every step of the way!

People go about their daily lives, dashing from doing one job to the next, a guy perched on the sidewalk and singing can be an interruption to the flow of your day a little hiccup, enough to stop and listen…

Many people think that a street performer is a lazy guy begging for money, couldn’t he just go and get a job, and some might be just to busy to appreciate the performance…

But for Jesse Rya things were different, he played his guitar outside the grocery store in Dallas-Fort Worth in Texas!

Jesse sat next to the store, he was singing an original song of his own, anyone could just stop and listen to it. As it happens a tall man came up to him, he had a small thought that someone had come to move him on, out of the way of customers.

However, when you’re making the right kind of noise, full of joy, it can be really infectious and carry the feelings with it!

The guy who approached Jesse was nonother than Howard Mullins, he wasn’t coming to move him on he was coming to join in with him…

At first, Howards just listened, quietly appreciating the song, but then, like he had been compelled by a force beyond him, he just joined right in, being creative and following his heart and creative inner self.

Howard improvised with Jesse while joining in…

They sang:

Then two other men came over, they walked over with a kind of swag that said they were coming for some of the action.

They didn’t stop the song though, they were wearing yellow reflective vests, and one of them Ron Lashey, dances next to them, singing along with them.

Ron’s obvious natural skill is not just dancing and singing though, he gets right into a rapid-fire freestyle rap about persistence in the plight of struggle.

Then after that, the three ‘artists‘ who are also three strangers to each other, break up and go off in different directions.

An onlooker, James Maldondo, just happened to catch it all going on and after he shared it online. The video quickly gathered momentum until it got millions of views.

Rya posted on social media so he could ask names of the fellow singers, he never thought that he would find out their names though.

It wasn’t long before they all found fame and they even made it to the Jimmy Kimmel show and onstage, the late-night host even accompanied on the sax!

This really was an awesome gathering like an angel from above had pushed them all together and then watched the show, some artists believed that in their sculptures the art was already formed inside, they just needed to reveal it, well these guys had talent, and for sure they revealed it to the world!

There are often things behind your walls you might not imagine, it’s times like home renovations that can reveal them, things like cash, jewels, antiques. As you pull out the old ready to replace with the new almost anything unexpected could be hidden!

Mark Von Thaden in California had a surprise behind his walls, but sadly for him, he wasn’t going to find something as lavish as what we said before, what he found was a critter had been doing his own renovations… and it looks like he has been doing it for a very long time!

Mark just wanted to give his pool house a facelift, make it look sleek and cool inside, in the video clip he explains some of the work he needed to do, but after removing the wooden panels he notices many little holes in the walls.

Mark, with a little doom in his voice, happens to mention that he hates woodpeckers, funnily enough, a naughty little bird, a woodpecker, has been drilling holes in the walls for a special reason, he was creating a snack shack of his very own!

Mark was soon going to discover that Woody the Woodpecker himself, had been a busy boy pushing acorns into the holes he drilled, for a long time!

Unfortunately for the bird, this strange tree was hollow and the acorns would fall to the bottom where he couldn’t reach them!

Even though he was on a fruitless task he just couldn’t stop himself, acorn after acorn, like throwing quarters in a slot machine, one after the other, mar was soon to discover exactly how many acorns were behind the walls…

You know those bins you see at the grocery store, the vertical ones that contain nuts, beans, and rice? when you lift the slot they pour out…

Well watch the video when he lifts the insulation back, does it remind you of anything else, like in your grocery store?

This little woody-woodpecker had unknowingly been creating a mass food storage unit for acorns and that is just why this quite unhappy guy hates woodpeckers!

He certainly has his work cut out for him now, for sure!!

A childbirth is both a special thing and a unique miracle, each and every time, especially for loving parents…

There are some births that really are unique, in a way every birth is unique, but some more than other births.

This one couple has always said to themselves that they really want a family, and it wasn’t long at all after they got married that they found out that they were going to be parents.

They really didn’t imagine that they were going to have a pregnancy that was one in a million!

Tim and Bathani first met each other about two years before they finally married in the June of 2015, then around three months after that Bethani went to the hospital after she discovered that she was pregnant, for her routine ultrasound checkup.

When the nurse realized that the image on the ultrasound was very special, both her and the parents were in disbelief at what their eyes could see on the scan!

The couple never could have imagined in a million years that they were going to have four identical quadruplet girls, in fact the chances of this happening are about one in fifteen million!

Bethani said:

“I could not believe it, I was in such shock. Honestly, I thought the ultrasound tech was joking. I couldn’t believe it”

Although she had to have a C-section around the 33 weeks mark, in the June of 2016, four healthy little girls were born and called Grace, Emily, Abigail, and McKayla.

Neither mom nor dad of the little girls had any previous history of quads in their past that they knew of, however the children were conceived naturally, so, you can understand how rare his occurrence was!

If they had undergone any kind of fertility treatment, then we might understand that this happened, for for a natural conception this was completely amazing!

The couple are having a really hard time being able to tell the twins apart though, but to help with the problem they painted their toenails in different colors, its their secret code!

Caring for just one newborn baby is pretty hard work, but for four, managing day to day tasks really seems gargantuan, it’s a wonder how their mental state remains in tact each and every 24 hours!

Having four little cheeky babies is so much more expensive than you could imagine though and they rely on weekly donations to help them to survive sometimes too!

Bethani said:

“It’s really amazing, because there would be no way we could do this by ourselves”

The couple feel really blessed, even though sometimes they just don’t know how they are going to cope with it all.

The family now live with Tim’s mom, she really does love her grandchildren dearly, they make her feel so happy!

Life really has got surprises for us all, but its how we cope with those surprises that defines you as a person and show haw beautiful people we can be too!

The community group together in Johns Island, South Carolina, still very emotional after a complete nightmare of a situation, they had been searching for 24 hours for a girl that as kidnapped, Heidi Renae, just 4 years-old.

Thankfully everyone feels a sense of relief that she has been discovered alive and safe in Alabama, but shocked about the circumstances around her disappearance back on 13th February this year.

There are five children living with their parents, Heidi was one of those five in a lovely community of Johns Island before this terrible thing happened.

Her father is a member of the coast guard and her mo is a stay at home mom who cares for all the children and their home, at the time it happened her father was out training with his work, out of town!

The day it happened was an awful day, a guy came into the family home, beat up Heidi’s mom and took Heidi with him, kidnapped, and gone!

The police said that the first feeling that something was wrong came when Heidi’s mom didn’t turn up to pick up her two older children from the school…

The police went to the family home and then discovered that Heidi’s mom was there but had been ‘brutally beaten’, there were two siblings there, younger in age than Heidi and Heidi herself was gone!

The police took action straight away and rushed Heidi’s mother to the hospital, she needed immediate surgery, her injuries were severe!

The community was truly shocked an horrified by what had happened, they joined forces with the police to search high and low for the little girl!

In the end, a railroad crew that was working over in Riverside, Alabama, 400 miles away from where Heidi lived were responsible for leading police to the child after they saw a car parked in the nearby woods that was suspicious.

Rick Oliver, Police Chief from Riverside arrived and approached the vehicle, as he got closer he saw a guy sleeping, also inside the car was the little girl!

As they confronted the guy, he quickly pushed the girl out of the car to the police, then he drove off as fast as he could.

The guy was later arrested like he could ever have thought he would actually be able to get away, he is 37-years-old, called Thomas Lawton Evans and he was only released from prison a few short weeks ago!

Police were seriously attempting to ascertain why he did it and if there was any connection from him to the Todd family, or if it was just a random attack.

The little girl seemed to be physically unharmed, she was sat happily eating snacks and watching cartoons, but little do we know about the psychological effects the while ordeal has had on her.

She waited with the authorities who tried to make her as comfortable as possible while her farther came to collect her, he took a flight from Charleston straight away after he got the news about his daughter.

John Tecklenburg, Charleston Mayor announced the news that the little girl had been found, there was a lot of relief and cheers from the crowd, but everyone continued to pray for Heidi’s mom, still in hospital and seriously injured.

Tecklenburg said:

“What could have been a day of real tragedy has turned out to be a day of great joy”

Oliver agreed, and he said that Heidi’s safe return to the family was one of the greatest days of his 20-year career in law enforcement.

Oliver said:

“This is a blessing …It is nothing to do with luck. The good Lord put me in that place.”

You only get one chance to make a first impression, but these teenagers did everything they could when they realized their mistake.

A waiter in Los Angeles was serving four teens, really making sure that their evening was perfect. He then received a not so satisfying tip… The waiter was disappointed and upset that the kids and other people don’t understand the custom of tipping well for hard work.

He described on social media how he felt as a waiter when he only received a $3.28 tip from the teenagers:

“Nothing more frustrating than when I get little to nothing for a tip and the customer is smiling and thanking me profusely as they exit”. But then something very unexpected happened!

Roughly one week later, he received a letter:

“About a week and a half ago, on October 7, my 3 friends and I came to eat at this restaurant as our own homecoming celebration. It was an exciting experience for us to be here alone, and it was all new to us.

The bill was reasonable, but we had completely forgotten (and frankly didn’t know) what a tip even was, let alone how much to give. So we emptied our pocked and all our money added up to $3.28.”

“Not aware of how small this really was, we left, clueless of what we had left you for all your hard work.

So in this envelope, you will find the correct 18% tip + extra for simply being amazing. We appreciate your help and patience and thank you for making our night fun. Thank you!”

The bill was roughly $100, and a $3.28 tip is less than four percent! Thankfully, the teens realized their mistake and made sure to handle it appropriately.

The waiter posted a picture of the letter online along with some inspiring and kind words:

“I’ve been serving a long time, and nothing like this has ever happened to me, or anyone. I don’t know how you learned or educated yourself on tipping, but I really appreciate the effort and kindness. I hope your Homecoming was fantastic!”

It’s not every day that people go that extra mile to right their mistakes, but when they do it can make all the difference in the world – and this hardworking waiter truly deserved it!

It all starts with a teacher, way over her head as a young teacher, based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana called Chelsea Haley, 24 years-old and single…

Haley was part of teaching for America and her goal was to help, or hope to help, and make a difference to students at a low-income school, but there was one student, a fourth-grade young boy who almost drove her to quit!

The little boy, a 12-year-old Jerome Robinson was not very cooperative at all, in fact, he was flunking everything, not only did he fail at school work but he was also often suspended …a real pain!

Hailey thought at the time:

“At certain points, his behavior got so bad, I thought, ‘I can’t do this anymore,’ ..I can’t be a teacher.”

But being the strong determined person that she was she carried on, every day picking herself up and getting on. She found out that Jerome’s home life, which was riddled with psychological hurt and despair, it was very tender for him at home.

Haley said:

“It was really hard on her after she lost her husband …It was just a combination of tragedy coupled with the other social situations you face when you live in poverty.”

Haley realized also that Jerome’s birth mom, whose young daughter also passed away was really struggling.

The commitment that Haley had with teach America was coming to the end of its two-year term, but she still felt drawn to remain there for another year after she needed to.

In the fall of 2015 something pivotal happened, but she didn’t realize at the time, sh had a dream that absolutely changed the direction of her life forever more!

In her dream she heard God’s voice, the voice told her that she was to be Jerome’s mother. She didn’t think too much about it but laughed the thought away at first.

Then, out of the blue something else happened, the very next day at work, she sat watching Jerome, pondering her dream, he was quietly taking a test.

Haley said she felt a calm come over her, like an angels breath, a godly calm, then at that moment Jerome looked up and asked her something.

Haley said that:

“He just asked me if he could live with me …I told him I had been feeling the same thing.”

Jerome’s birth mother confirmed the path set out for them as she also asked about the adoption of her sons Jerome and Jace then smaller younger one, to give them a better life!

Putting all her trust in God, Haley adopted Jerome and Jace, she took a teaching job in Georgia, it was a big change in her life a real curveball, but she says she wouldn’t change a thing!

Jerome is really doing well in school now, he is on the honor roll for the first time in his entire life.

For Haley paying the bills and keeping on top of her finances is really hard, now a single mother living off a teachers salary, but God has always provided for them.

Haley said:

“I always knew I wanted to be a mom and I wouldn’t trade this for anything”

Everyone from around the world has been moved by her story and also offered financial support to the family, the money will help Jace stay in preschool and provide a college tuition for both of the boys in the future!

There are around 3.5 million cats that enter the United States, in animal shelters, each year according to the National Kitten Coalition…

It’s thought that of those about 1.5 million are euthanized each year, and that is just because they couldn’t find a loving family to adopt them.

One of the lucky ones, that did get adopted, called Ares, was taken from the shelter just before new years eve of 2017. His sister also found her way to the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Door too, as strays.

Just a short few weeks later, Alana Hadley visited the Sturgeon Bay shelter and she fell head over heels in love with a really sweet kitten!

She asked, very excitedly, about his sister also, called Aphrodite, but at that time an adoption for her was pending, so they couldn’t let her go.

This sweet little kitten, Ares, was taken home, as a solo artist, and all seemed well at first, until the first night, he began meowing, and he would just not stop!

Kittens absolutely make quite a bit of noise, even though they are small and when they feel lonely too, or even a little afraid. So understandably Hadley gave the kitten a fluffy toy, to snuggle and cuddle.

That would have been a perfect solution, but unfortunately, Ares decided that this cute fluffy toy wasn’t going to satisfy him, not in the least bit…

So the meowing went on, and on and on some more like it would never end!

Hadley sent a message to the shelter, some action was needed, but what he didn’t know was…

Hadley said:

“He has been almost non-stop meowing until he goes to sleep …and then meows again when he’s awake.”

Just as an amazing turn of fate, and with perfect timing, the person who was going to adopt Aphrodite, well it just didn’t happen, so in an excited flurry, Hadley shot back to the shelter!

Both brother and sister seemed so incredibly excited to see each other, Hadley knew what was needed, and what he wanted from the beginning, he also adopted Aphrodite too, right then and there!

Once they all got home, it was, of course, the puuuur-fect solution after all!

Hadley said:

“They both love to cuddle and purr like crazy when we are holding them … They sleep most of the day,” she explained, “and they cuddle each other when they sleep!”

Hadley said a little more recently that both kittens are happy as can be together and really do belong together.

Maybe Ares somehow realized that Aphrodite was the one and only Greek goddess of love, or so it would seem!

Get yourself acquainted with the 2018 Gerber baby, this lovely 1-year-old picked from over 140,000 entries by other hopeful parents all across the USA. The baby picked was Lucas Warren…

The 1-year-old from Dalton, in Georgia, is the very first baby that has Down syndrome to ever claim the coveted honor of being Gerber’s Spokesbaby!!

Ever since 2010, Gerber has held, each year, a competition to find a new face, baby-face, to represent their brand. Before the yearly contests were held they used the babyface that was drawn in charcoal, the original Gerber baby, which was Ann Turner Cook, the face of Gerber since 1927, wow!

The team at Gerber looked over many of the competition entries of lovely babies from all over the country, but after all that, it was Lucas that stood apart from all the others.

Lucas’s father, Jason Warren, was in floods of tears, completely overwhelmed with happiness, gratitude and above all, he was so proud of his son!

Cortney Warren said:

“He’s very outgoing and never meets a stranger …He loves to play, loves to laugh and loves to make other people laugh.”

Cortney entered their son into the competition because a relative had suggested it, just interested to know if others found his smile as infectious as the rest of the family did too.

Cortney said that one of his absolute best features was his lovely heart winning smile!

The proud father, with tears in his eyes told about how he wished the world would see and be more accepting and loving of children with special needs.

He said:

“We’re hoping this will impact everyone”

Courtney said that she has a great worry about her son as he grew up, to worry about bullies targeting him because he was different, but hopes that he will look back with pride that he was the face of Gerber!

Cortney said:

“He may have Down syndrome, but he’s always Lucas first …We’re hoping when he grows up and looks back on this, he’ll be proud of himself and not ashamed of his disability.”

Bill Partyka, CEO of Gerber, said:

“Lucas’ winning smile and joyful expression won our hearts this year, and we are all thrilled to name him our 2018 Spokesbaby.”

He also said that Lucas was the perfect fit for the company’s slogan, that every baby is a Gerber baby.

Lucas is blissfully unaware that he, even now, he is charting new territory for other kids with special needs and their families too!

His sweet smile and his bright eyes that just endure, the world will have a realyl wonderful way to see that a person with down syndrome is simply another person, to live and love!

Beauty really does come from the inside, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t care about how we look on the outside too, after all it’s the first thing people see and perhaps says a little about at at the least.

It really is a great feeling to go mad at how you look and really make a big effort about out appearance, at least every once in a while.

One thing that a few of us care about is the way our hair looks, which is not really that surprising after all, it kind of makes a statement to other people in a way about us, and our hair is a super visible feature!

So it carries that a bad haircut can cause even the most confident of people to hide away and feel self-conscious until it’s fixed of course.

A really bad or crazy or even forced upon us, type of haircut is really an assault on us, especially if its done with malice or on purpose, don’t you think?

January this year a happy and jolly an confident young girl of 13 decided that she would try a different look, and naturally, that involved a change of hairstyle!

She came to the decision that she wanted to get highlights, a request that her mom Christine Johnson had agreed to! Her mom took her to the hairdressers for a lovely birthday treat, awesome, right?

Well, it would have been awesome to show off her lovely new look, but something terrible happened. Before that though, Christie took a photo of her lovely daughter, smiling, overjoyed with her new hairstyle…

Her happiness was very sadly short and not so sweet, just days after this Kelsey stayed with her father and stepmother, what would happen there would completely traumatize her!

The photos her mom took after the visit to them were awful and heartbreaking for her and for her mom, shocking even!

Kelsey is even too ashamed to show her face, but you don’t need to see her face to feel for this poor girl and how she must have felt.

What was once her long and lovely hair was hacked down to nothing, all gone, so incredibly short it would even make a grown woman cry, let alone a young girl!

The Facebook post written by the aunt of Kelsey says that the girl’s father and stepmother had cut Kelsey’s hair after they saw the new highlights…

”Actions have consequences.” was their reason for doing it! …Really?

For some unbeknownst reason, they were very upset over the girls’ new highlights and decided to do this awful thing to her hair, forced to have this boy’s haircut, like some kind of forced humiliation!

The father and stepmother could now be facing consequences of their own, because, as they said already, we believe, “actions have consequences”. Since they both work as firefighters their actions have landed them a suspension without pay.

Christie wrote in a Facebook post that the reason for the extreme haircut that she had was for the purpose of humiliating Kelsey.

The post had many comments and from people who are equally devastated on Kelsey’s behalf!

The post has of course gone completely viral and social services in Wood County have stepped in to conduct an investigation into what exactly happened.

We really hope that Kelsey will get the justice that she deserves and her father and stepmother will be punished for their horrific alleged assault and the humiliation it caused to the young girl.

I can’t quite imagine how Kelsey is really feeling, she will be reminded of the terrible incident every time she looks at herself, until it grows back, which could be a considerable amount of time.

One occasion that is always is joyful are weddings, but perhaps a little more special than that even is when you hear about gestures of love that are made at these wonderful events.

The bride of this wedding was gorgeous and so pretty, her name is Elizabeth, and what she did for her hubby to be was so awesome it really touched everyone, the whole gathering, and everyone who watched, thousands of people were in tears over it!

Scott her husband and Elizabeth, so to be married had their big day on 27th January 2018, in Sydney Australia and it was truly beautiful!

The angelic bride came into the room with her son, she was getting ready for the big moment, which would be a complete surprise for her hubby to be!

Scott had a really hard childhood, at the age of five he had already started to lose his hearing, and just three years on again and he was completely deaf!

Elizabeth got in the right place and she was ready to walk down the aisle, Christina Perry’s song called “A Thousand Years” was playing in the background, all their friends and family were there…

Elizabeth met Scott on Tinder about two years ago and the mother of two Elizabeth so head over heels in love she started to learn ‘Auslan’, Australian sign language!

About 12 weeks before the big day, Elizabeth secretly taught herself the lyrics and how to sign, in sign language their super special song, it’s really amazing how determined she was!

When Scott realized what she was doing he completely burst into tears, Elizabeth said that her husband has watched the video at least one hundred times now!

The beautiful tribute was videoed and it was viewed over 400,000 times. The couple is so happy that the video is reaching so many people and at the same time, it’s raising awareness a to others about the importance of learning sign language.

Elizabeth said:

“I have received so many private messages from people around the world telling me how the video impacted them …My favorites have been from parents of children with disabilities, saying I have given them hope that one day they will find love.”

These elderly women, both in their 90’s, found out that their 97-year-old sister was in hospice care and rushed to pamper her. The medical staff was taking care of her, but the two sisters knew that she could use some extra support.

With kindness and laughter, they brushed her hair and made her feel pretty and special on one of her darker days. The love between these sisters is truly heartwarming!

Seeing such a strong bond between sisters really warms a parent’s heart. According to Psychology Today you can help your children develop this type of connection! First of all it is suggested to start building this bond as early as possible. The younger your children learn to think of each other as best friends, the stronger bond they will have.

Psycology Today also suggests that you never play favorites with your children as it according to the publication can cause resentment among the children.

The three sisters relationship is such a beautiful and rare thing to see. Thankfully they have been there for each other, know all each other’s strenghts and weaknesses and love one another unconditionally.

Learning that the eldest sister had started hospice care, they all rushed to be together. Knowing that they didn’t have much time left together all three they were deterined to make the most of the remainder of days.

That’s why they brought a hairbrush with them on their visit – they wanted to fill their last memories together with love, laughter and beauty. Luckily the woman’s granddaughter recorded the precious moment on camera and shared the beautiful moment with the world.

John Greene, a veteran had a home that had sadly fallen into disrepair, so much so that he had resorted to sleeping in his car each night, just to keep warm on the cold nights of the winter!

Thanks to the community spirit of the Barnesville community, he will not have to sleep in his car again or endure the cold nights in his car every night anymore.

Eddie Felton works alongside veterans to help them, he heard that there was a guy sleeping his car. Both he and his wife decided they just had to make the journey down to see him and see what was going on with him.

When they got there, what they found that John was sleeping in his car, keeping the engine running to keep himself warm through the night.

Eddie said:

“I went and knocked on the window and said, ‘Mr. Greene, you can’t do this. If you have a pinhole, carbon monoxide will kill you”

But when Eddie then saw the serious condition of John’s house he then understood why he had been sleeping in his car!

The house was really run down, it was actually falling apart, it really would be impossible to sleep in the house how it was…

All through the year and in all weathers, hot, cold, in rain or snow, even in ice, that UPS guy keeps coming round, he never fails to show up!

Living in a rural area, like being in the countryside means that he has to drive down a long driveway then has to deal with a large but friendly dog and carry heavy packages across the yard and the porch to the front door.

When he comes out the owner greets him and thanks him, but he always has a smile and kind words to say and a lovely treat for the dog too!

He always carefully turns the truck around so no to tear up the grass in the front yard and he hardly ever delivers a damaged package!

Online shopping and relying on delivery by courier are really getting more and more popular, hence UPS and other delivery drivers are more and more important to us all in our day to day lives.

They deliver us many and varied things like groceries and prescription medicines, housewares, and if you live quite far from a city then life without them would be considerably more difficult all around.

Leading up to the holidays it is common to see the UPS guy delivering packages up to 9 PM in the night, in fact, weeks before the Christmas. Its cold and dark outside when it gets to that time, but the UPS guy still shows up!

This guy deserves more than the small gift he received, but the thought was priceless!

This video shows his awesome reaction to the gift he finds on the porch waiting ready for when he makes his delivery!

A powerful hymn is “How Great Thou Art”, but it’s not only powerful as it is an awesome hymn to capture a glimpse of Gods glory, which is a challenging thing to do!

It’s such a classic hymn and it probably comes as close as anything humanly possible to giving a sense of the greatness and omnipotence of God. It hardly ever fails to bring tears to the eyes as I sing the words.

I really didn’t think that is was actually achievable for the hymn to be even more emotive and deeply meaningful until I saw Robert Earl, Bob for short, singing the very sale, but on a different level!

It really is two different things to sing about the greatness of God when life seems really great, but to still sing those famous words, how great thou art, from your hospital bed as your close to death, that is both strength and faith!

Melissa Walter’s Moss put the video of her husband, 97-year-old Grandpa who was belting out the truly wonderful song, one evening on a Thursday at the Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital. He was surrounded by all his friends and family, and I’m not ashamed to admit I shed more than a tear as I watched the video!

Faith and happiness are clear forces in Walters’ voice, just like the conviction he had for every single word that left his lips as he sang that song!

From his daughter it was announced, an update, that her Grandpa, much loved had sadly passed away in the early morning on Friday, Jan 12th after that beautiful song he sang that evening, almost like he knew he was being called to Heaven after it.

Moss wrote:

“I captured the sweetest moment when they were singing a hymn together, just listen to his sweet voice praising Jesus.”

“This morning my precious grandpa got to meet Jesus face to face as he peacefully went home to be with Him, uncle Rick by his side”

“How Great Thou Art” was the last song he sang and I certainly hope that before I pass away I could live up to Walter’s conviction and faith, what an amazing guy right up until the end!

Walters video of him singing the hymn in the hospital bed was shared on the Facebook page “Love What Matters” and as a result man other people also shared memories of singing this wonderful hymn with loved ones in all sorts of situations.

One other person shared that her family also sang the hymn around her Grandpa’s bed in a hospital just before he passed too.

She said in a comment:

“Oh, wow…this is what we sang around my grandpa’s hospital bed …My oldest daughter was 4 years old (now 8 yrs old) and she still calls it -great grandpa’s song-”

“This is why we should still sing hymns at church…they connect generations together”

During life certainly, but even during death, Walters left a real impression on not just his family and friends but, I think, to God too, before he met him in heaven, our thoughts and prayers go to the family and friends to stay strong and keep their faith during these difficult times.

A hole in the heart doesn’t so much describe metaphorically a heartbreak in life, but it does refer to an actual real hole in the heart, Christie Cunningham, 35, had exactly this condition, she was unaware of it…

Her daughter was not feeling well at school either and this too played a role in the events of the day.

It was September and all these events seemed to play a role in what was about to happened that day. Her daughter, Kailey George, 8, was at Vision Charter School, she felt a little ill, it was her coming home that saved the day and more!

Christie made the decision that she would try to leave work early to pick up her daughter early from school, but when they arrived home, it wasn’t Kailey that needed care, it was her mom!

Christie’s back began to hurt, she really didn’t feel well at all…

Christie got a foam roller, she used it to ease her back pain, she stumbled to the ground. Her daughter approached her mother, she sensed there was something serious going on with her mom.

She noticed that her mom’s mouth was drooping in a strange way and that she was talking in a weird way, she knew she had to do something quickly.

Her mom is a nurse and she just thought that she needed to hydrate, drink a little water, her daughter asked her something really important!

It was when her mom couldn’t use her arm properly to drink the water…

She asked her mom:

“Are you playing tricks?”

Christie wasn’t aware of the severity of what she was experiencing, but, in fact, she was experiencing a stroke and her arm was paralyzed.

It was, of course, the hole in her heart that was the root of the problem!

A blood clot had moved through the hole in her heart and it had found its way around her body and ended up in her brain and cause the stroke.

She really wasn’t aware of the seriousness of her situation even though her daughter was, her mom didn’t want her to ring 911, she thought it wasn’t that bad, but Kailey knew she needed to take action.

She called her dad and told him what was happening to mom!

Her dad called 911 straight away after hearing Christie trying to speak, fortunately, she survived the stroke, but it could have been a lot worse had it happened and her daughter was not there to call for help.

The hole in her heart was repaired during a surgical procedure, before the surgery she had to take blood thinners, but afterward, she will take some baby aspirin, for the remainder of her life.

An award was presented to Kailey in front of classmates, police offices and paramedics!

This wonderful little girl was just in the right place at the right time, like she sensed that she needed to be there to help, or maybe God had a hand to play?

Every single event that day contributed to the positive outcome for her mom, every little detail, and it all payed off and she came out of the experience alive, the more time your left untreated with a stroke the more of yourself you loose!

What began as an awful tragedy very soon after became one of the most incredible stories I have ever heard!

Ryan from Oklahoma and Jessica from Michigan had both lost the other halves, their spouses, to brain cancer in August of 2010, they hadn’t a clue what to do or where to turn to, they felt completely lost.

Their spouses had passed only four days apart, both of them had also been keeping a blog of their difficulties, somewhere though, somebody had been reading both their blogs!

That person contacted Jessica, they said:

“There’s this man in Oklahoma who lost his wife four days after you lost your husband and I just think you could be encouraging to him.”

She left him a message on his own blog, she offered to talk on email or phone, if he wanted to.

However, she didn’t know was that one of Ryan’s children came home and was asking about a “new mom”. It really caught him off guard, it had, after all only been two months since she had passed away.

That night, he prayed with his children, and he said:

“God, if that’s what I’m supposed to do, give me a sign, show me something… just prepare my heart for something like that.”

The very following morning he got Jessica’s message:

After that the rest really seems history, they chatted each other’s socks down, hours at a time, then in December, they decided to meet.

They chose Savannah to meet, in Georgia, after all, it was “neutral ground,”. It was a place both had always intended to visit, but never quite made it there, they certainly didn’t anticipate they would make it there under these circumstances!

In all the phone calls and emails they had really made such a great connection with each other, it really helped them figure out what they wanted, no kids involved, just the two of them communicating.

Ryan said:

“Both of us had really good marriages and thought, ‘I want to do this again.’ I knew very quickly, even in the conversations, that I wanted her to be my wife and spend time with her for the rest of my life”

Everything was really great between them, and so it was that they got married in April 2011, the only thing next was to decide who would move in with who!

Jessica’s son was disabled, Lucas, and he went to a lovely school already, it was logical that Ryan moves his three kids to Grand Rapids, Michigan, which he did, with Jessica and of course her four children she already had.

Wow, seven kids, half of them not your own, well they are really strong and they absolutely made it work.

Ryan said:

“The kids all just meshed as if they were brothers and sisters from day one. It’s just amazing how they just took to each other immediately”

Just to put the icing on the cake, they are a family of ten, having had another child of their own in 2015. In 2013 they upped and moved to Tennessee, they now have 30 acres and a big country style house they all live in!

This huge happy family really is a great example of how to fight for love and live your life with determination and zest! Please SHARE with friends and family and let’s inspire others to have the same zest for life!

Celebrating at a restaurant is a wonderful way to celebrate, that is unless you are called Makenzie and Steven Schultz, their celebration quickly turned into a complete disaster, the worse they have ever had!

For the first glass of water it took around 20 whole minutes, then another 40 minutes for them to get their appetizer and another hour for the entree!

Many people might well have complained about this kind of behavior, some probably even have walked away without a second thought, but not wanting this to happen in their special night the Schultz’s’ reaction was a true surprise for sure!

To be true to the facts people all around the Schultz’s were poking fun of the restaurant and how unbelievably bad the service actually was.

But after all that they didn’t leave an awful review of the restaurant, they didn’t even speak to the manager, they empathized with the waiting staff and left a note to them, what awesome people!!

Makenzie explained:

“So here’s the deal. Our service tonight sucked …Yeah, it was pretty terrible. But, it was very obvious that the issue was being short staffed, not the server.”

“He was running around like crazy and never acted annoyed with any table. At one point we counted he had 12 tables plus the bar. More than any one person could handle!”

The Schultz’s sat waiting and watching the server run back and to, between too many tables, all the time saying how sorry she was, never once losing her cool…

Makenzie realized and turned to Steven and said:

“Wow, this used to be us. Waiting tables. I don’t miss it at all and I never loved that job. I did it for the tips.”

They both agreed that the server wouldn’t be getting any tips, just because of how slow the food was coming out, even though it really was not her fault, at all.

The Schultz’s decision was to be really kind about it, in fact, they did the opposite of what most people would do and they left a tip of $100 on top of the $66 dollar meal, and a note to explain.

In the note they said:

“We’ve both been in your shoes. Paying it forward =)”

They quickly left before the server had a chance to read the note, they didn’t want a fuss, it was simply a kind gesture.

Later on, Makenzie decided they this story could be a real inspiration to others too and decided to share it! She says that a bit of thoughtfulness can often really change a situation for the better, especially when its a situation outside of the person’s control.

Makenzie wrote:

“I’m just sharing this as a friendly reminder to think of the entire situation before you judge …And always always always remember where you came from.”

When you’re homeless your kind of stuck in a rut, between a rock and a hard place, but to suddenly find out there is something amazing waiting for you, something you completely forgot about, it will change your life, it’s truly amazing…

Jon Helsinki is 62 years old and has been living in a cardboard box for the last three years next to a bus stop in Tampa, Florida!

He slept often under the shelter there and the bus stop benches there, most people didn’t even notice that he was there, he felt completely invisible to everyone.

His identification documents had been stolen from him and it was almost impossible to get new ID’s for him as he was from Poland originally and is now all alone in the world!

He had tried to apply for temporary housing at the Florida Community Housing Solutions Center, but again, it was a dead-end because he had no way to prove his identity, so he was refused.

He was really stuck in a rut, a vicious cycle of events that kept going around and around and then back to where he started again.

Charles Inman, a caseworker heard his story and he wanted to help him out. Charles was working with the community health provider DACCO and stepped in to try to do something for him.

Officer Daniel McDonald also helped them, from the Tampa Police Department, they made a good team and were determined to help the guy break the terrible cycle he was stuck in.

Inman said after meeting Helinski for the first time:

“This situation looked really difficult, and I wasn’t sure how it was going to end up”

“If it failed, it meant we’d put a 62-year-old man on the street, and Officer McDonald and I were not OK with that”

“John was born in Poland, so it made it even more difficult for him to get new ID …I helped him out and said, that we will figure this out and get him a bed”

The two men worked with Helinski and got all the identification papers he needed finally…

McDonald said:

“First, I drove him personally to the local tax collector’s office, where he was able to get a temporary State of Florida ID card”

With the ID papers, he could finally get his birth record from the US State Consular Affairs department.

Then the pieces started to fall into place, they could get him an appointment with social security and find out about his benefits he used to have.

The big shock was that Helinski had never stopped receiving benefits, they are still getting deposited in his bank!

They then went to the bank and the men saw he had a bank account he had forgotten about, with the social security checks and more!

With his forgotten accounts he was able to move into his very own home, he is now living in the community homes that Inman work for, but all of a sudden his future is a lot happier and assured!

McDonald says:

“He has the money now to move into his own home …He deserves it. He’s a very good, sweet and genuine man.”

A huge thanks to these two men who made it all possible for this once homeless guy, they turned his life around and now he has a bright future again!
