Teen slams into school bus and dies instantly, Then police find cellphone in her hand

The advance of technology creates device addicted generations that cannot function without their phones. The worst part is that many are using them while driving, which may result in life-threatening situations. Talking on the phone while behind the wheel affects drivers’ ability to respond to hazard and texting while driving is illegal in almost every state, but people still do it.

The recent accident that took place because of a cell phone usage led to the loss of the life of 17-year-old Katelyn Ray.

The tragic news left her family in disbelief. They couldn’t accept the fact that their sister and daughter was gone.

According to the police’s official report, the tragedy struck on September 5, while the teenager was driving on a highway in Panola County, Mississippi when she crushed in a school bus. Luckily, none of the students suffered any injuries, but sadly, Katelyn died on the spot.

What was supposed to be an ordinary day where this girl would pick her sister up from work and the two would have a fun day together, turned into the worst day of the life of the Ray family.

The Chester County Sheriff’s Office posted photos of the accident on their Facebook page as a warning to others of the tragic outcome of using a cellphone while driving.

“***PAY ATTENTION!!*** The driver of the car was 17 years old,” the post read. “No black marks because she never hit the brakes and she still had the cell phone in her hand when they removed her from the car.”

“I said don’t forget to pick your sister up. She said OK. Love you. And I said I love you too,” Katelyn’s mother Shelia Ray explained.

These are the words she will never forget because that was the last thing she said to her daughter before she died.

“We’ve been trying to call her and call her, no answer and then I got a phone call from the highway patrol, that said she had been really bad car accident,” Ray said.

“I get off work at seven o’clock and that’s when I got worried because she wasn’t there, Katelyn’s sister, Courtney Pettit, said. So, I gave her maybe 10 to 15 minutes. She may have stopped somewhere got her something to eat or something. About 7:30 a.m. when she wasn’t there, that’s when we started worrying,” she added.

The big sister got worried so much that she posted on Facebook asking if someone has seen Katelyn. They hoped that someone would call them and tell them she was fine, but instead, they got the call that changed their lives forever.

“We don’t know what situation she was in, but when you look at that car, you can only think the worse,” said Stephanie Pettit, Katelyn’s aunt.

Katelyn Ray was proud aunt and she was taking GED classes at the WIN Job Center.

“A happy person like she was just happy, outgoing, bubbly. She loved hanging out with friends and family,” her sister said. “She was outgoing. She loved life, she loved her family.”

She only had her driver licence for two months before the crash took place.

What has happened to this young girl is beyond tragic. She was full of life and had a bright future ahead of her, and it was all lost because of one bad decision. That of using her phone while she was driving her car.

Our condolences go to the Ray family. Stay strong.

7 Strangers Just Showed the World What to Do When Another Mom’s Kid Has a Public Meltdown

Shutterstock

Being a mom is not easy. Constantly making sure your little one is getting the right amount of attention while doing a bunch of other errands along the way has to be really tiring. Above all, young kids go through stages while growing up and they are all likely to turn into “mean little” humans that “enjoy” throwing tantrums and getting things their way no matter what it takes. Hopefully, this doesn’t last long. The thing is that no matter how hard you try, sometimes it’s impossible to cope with your naughty child’s behavior.

It’s even more devastating when the tiny humans decide to misbehave in public. Most of the time parents feel embarrassed and are secretly judged by the passersby who believe they sort of failed at parenting.

A mom who was traveling from Portland to L.A with her 18-month-old boy while pregnant with her other child knows this all too well. Fellow passenger Beth Dunnington recalls what happened when the boy experienced a meltdown while waiting to board the plane. This time, however, no one regarded this mom a “bad” parent. On the contrary, strangers stepped in and made sure the little one was all good.

“A toddler who looked to be eighteen or so months old was having a total meltdown, running between the seats, kicking and screaming, then lying on the ground, [and] refusing to board the plane,” Dunnington wrote on Facebook.

Dunnington wrote how the young mom was all puzzled and had no idea what to do as her boy took the terminal for his personal playground.

“She couldn’t pick him up because he was so upset, he kept running away from her, then lying down on the ground, kicking and screaming again,” she wrote.
“The mother finally sat down on the floor and put her head in her hands, with her kid next to her still having a meltdown, and started crying.”

And as both the boy and his mother were sobbing, things took a different turn.

“… (I’m crying just writing this) … the women in the terminal, there must have been six or seven of us, not women who knew each other, approached and surrounded her and the little boy and we knelt down and formed a circle around them,” she wrote.

The strangers knew they had to help the struggling mom calm her child down so they approached and did their best to entertain the boy. Dunnington herself sang to him “The Itsy Bitsy Spider,” while another one peeled him an orange. As for the rest, one of them gave the boy a toy she took out of her bag, and the other one gave the mommy some water. They all did what they knew best.

“It was so gorgeous, there was no discussion and no one knew anyone else, but we were able to calm them both down, and she got her child on the plane,” she wrote. “Only women approached.”

They all boarded the plane eventually and took their seats without discussing what had happened. Well, it seems that it really takes a village to raise a child.

“We were strangers, gathering to solve something. It occurred to me that a circle of women, with a mission, can save the world,” she wrote. “I will never forget that moment.”

11-Year-old makes history as first America’s Got Talent contestant to receive the Golden Buzzer twice

America’s Got Talent

It was back in 2017 when young Angelica Hale’s out-of-this-world talent captured the attention of the audience worldwide. Even those who are not fans of competition shows made sure they are in front of the TV when it was her turn to wow the world over and over again.

Her part in the America’s Got Talent series was one of a kind, and despite being a runner-up during the competition, she finished second.

The good news? Angelica is back and we get to enjoy her amazing vocal a bit longer. Competing along the rest of the champions, among which Susan Boyle, Angelica has a lot to offer at the spin-off series that garnered heaps of attention. All eyes are on AGT: The Champions.

Little Angelica made history with her stunning performance of “Fight Song.” The 11-year-old prodigy got a Golden Buzzer for a second time, a reward given by the judges that saves the best acts from being eliminated. Judge Howie Mandel was so overwhelmed by her act that he just had to reward her.

“When people show up on this show, the level of competition is much higher. Just by the title, you are amongst champions. You show up and you ripped the ceiling off this theater. That was your fight song and if I can do anything, I am going to help you win this fight,” he commented after Angelica’s performance.

The young girl couldn’t believe what had just happened and burst into tears, saying:

“I can’t believe this is actually happening to me. I never expected this to happen. I wanted to thank you so much. This is a dream come true.”

All the judges agree how this very special girl has in her what it takes to be a champion. Describing her as a “firecracker” and a remarkable performer, she is likely to reach for the stars.

She is indeed our favorite. You can watch her performance for yourself, if you haven’t seen it so far.

Are you a fan of Angelica? Who do you think is most likely to win the Champion title? Share it with us in the comments.

Punk driver slams snowman with truck, Poetic justice when he learns it’s built on huge stump

What’s better than a snowy winter and some chilly weather that allows us to get out and feel young again by breathing the fresh air while our ears and noses become red from the cold. This definitely brings us to the period when we were kids and lived for the joy of snowball fighting and building a snowman, the true representative of this amazing season.

Cody Lutz, his fiancée, and his fiancée’s sister decided to have some outdoor fun and came up with the idea of making their yard more appealing, by placing the figure of the biggest snowman they could ever built.

As soon as they started rolling the bunch of snowflakes that have already covered the whole place, they though that it would be nice if they use the old tree stump as a foundation and cover it with lots of snow in the form of a big ball. This way the snowman would be firmer and hopefully last longer. But they never though that the photo of their creation will reach to so many people for reasons you don’t assume.

It turned out that some random person who drove past the snowman though it would be nice if they destroyed it. Yes, you’ve heard that right, and if you wonder why someone would feel the urge to knock down such a lovely handiwork, we don’t have the answer. It might be because some people are like that, hating everything that is beautiful.

“I went to work on Monday and I came home to this Monday night which is (sic) the irony is pretty funny,” Lutz said.

Poetic justice — instant retaliation: The snowman made clear no one should mess with him.

“This is Petersburg for you,” Lutz posted on Facebook after realizing what had transpired in the front yard. “What they didn’t count on, is the massive stump in the center. Life is hard, but it’s much harder when you’re stupid.”

The person with the truck hit the snowman, trying to crush it down, but ended up hitting the stump. Although we have no idea who the doer of this evil deed is, I guess we can make assumptions by looking at the neighborhood’s vehicles.

“I think he got the last laugh for sure,” said Lutz, referring to the snowman.

“I accidentally said ‘karma’,” he explained, “since that’s kind of an internet colloquialism for ‘payback,’ but I’m glad Karma doesn’t actually exist. I’m glad that my sins in this life have been forgiven by the blood of Jesus on the cross. Im (sic) glad that through God’s Grace I am free from the guilt of sin in this life and the next! 😊”

No matter what you call it or if you believe in karma or not, this video brings so much laughter and satisfaction because the person got exactly what they deserved.

4 Abused siblings were about to be split up – Judge’s tears flow when couple adopts all of them

Stories of kids who are not treated by their parents with the love and respect they deserve always sadden our hearts. Although the story of the four siblings Alisia, Bradley, Cody, and Emma started as such, the four of them eventually got their happy ending.

These kids’ biological parents were abusers of illegal substances and as a result they neglected their children who were now taken away from them and given for adoption.

The Kansas brothers and sisters were pretty much aware that the chances of the four of them ending up with the same family were equal to none, and that was something they couldn’t cope with.

Splitting them up would be heartbreaking for these siblings that only had each other.

They dreamed of continuing living under the same roof and didn’t want to leave each other’s side. The most likely scenario that was going through their mind was that the girls could end up in one family whereas the boys could end up with another. But this wasn’t certain either.

Source: Kansas City Star

But as luck would have it, a loving couple crossed the children’s path and made an impact on their lives.

A couple from Gardner who have recently gotten their licence to become foster parents came across the story of the siblings and somehow felt that it was a sign from God and that they had to step in and do their best to help. Eric and Phyllis Watson were aware that the children wanted to stay together.

Source: Kansas City Star

“We were thinking one foster child at a time. Maybe two? We weren’t thinking four at once,” Eric recalls.

“The turning point for me was they were going to be split up and I didn’t want to see that.”

“And when he woke up, he said, ‘We’re gonna take the kids,’” Phyllis told. “Eric had thought things over, and couldn’t imagine separating the siblings.”

Eric and Phyllis were a bit hesitant about welcoming four kids all at once, because both of them have full-time jobs and wondered if they would have enough time to devote to each of them.

But, no matter what it took to take care of four children who came into their life all at once, the Watsons were willing to accept. They were now certain they wanted to adopt 17-year-old Alisia, 16 and 15-year-old Bradley and Cody, and the youngest, 11-year-old Emma.

The only thing that stood between the Watson family and their new kids was the official court hearing that would finalize the adoption.

“Do feel you’ve developed a mother-child relationship? Have you the financial capacity to provide a proper home? Do you understand there are no give-backs here?” the judge asked the new parents, after which they replied with “Yes. Yes. Yes.”

Source: Kansas City Star

The new parents were looking forward to the new life and they quickly got used to the big family. Although it meant buying a bigger house and a bigger car, it also meant more love and endless happiness.

The kids’ original grandmother, Susan Bustamente told everyine how the oldest of the siblings, Alicia had always played the role of a mother in the family.

“She’s been a mother to those kids since she was three years old,’” their grandmother said. “They’ve had a hard life but they’re strong,” she added.

This was the best day in the life of the lovely siblings. They are all nice and well-behaved kids who are beyond grateful to their new parents for not allowing them to be split up.

Source: Kansas City Star

District Judge Kathleen Sloan, was brought to tears.

“Welcome to the very best hearing that I get to have in this courtroom,” the judge said at the adoption hearing. “The very best hearing that any judge gets to have in this entire courthouse, the very best hearing that any judge gets to have in the entire state of Kansas, the very best hearing that any judge gets to have in the entire United States of America.”

Source: Kansas City Star

“There is nothing better than an adoption; in part because you all came in here happy and I get to let you leave happier.”

This definitely deserved the praise of everyone in the court room and the judge knew that best. Once the process was finalized, the new, “improved” family got applause in sign of support and a good luck.

“It’s not what I had planned, but it’s so much better,” Phyllis concluded. “I love them like they are my own.”

This is indeed an amazing story that speaks of the ups and downs life puts on our way. Luckily, these brave siblings got a chance for a better life.

‘Feral’ rescue dog becomes best friends with hummingbird

The incredible story of Ed Gernon and the dog he adopted is just a proof that every dog out there can make a great pet if given the amount of love and devotion they deserve.

When this man paid the local shelter a visit, this particular dog caught his eye and despite the staff’s warnings that Rex was a street stray dog that used to get into fights with other canines, Ed decided to give him a chance and adopted him.

Rex turned out to be the best pet one can ask for.

The bond between these new friends became very strong. They would spend most of their days together, taking long walks, playing fetch, and running around their hometown of Whittier, California.

During one of their walks something unusual happened. Rex stood in front of a bush and refused to move an inch. Wondering what could be going on, Ed got closer and saw it was a hummingbird laying there on the ground.

It looked as though it was dead, and just as they wanted to proceed, Ed noticed the tiny bird’s heavily breathing. He couldn’t just leave it there, so he took her home with him.

Ed named the bird Hammer and was amazed how his dog who was considered a feral could love and care for this tiny creature so much.

“It was this little creature. This fragile creature that the whole world wanted to kill and [Rex] was trying to protect her so I thought I’d go the distance,” Gernon said.

In order to nurse her back to health, Ed would feed his new pal Hammer sweet water every fifteen minutes, day and night. This, along with all the attention she was getting, Hammer started flying again.

“It’s crazy. You live with Tinkerbell. It’s like that’s what this is like,” he said.

YouTube Screenshot

Rex and Hammer became best of friends. This lovely bird enjoys spending her days swimming in her friend’s water bowl. As for Rex, he loves watching her having fun.

Ed is beyond happy seeing his loving pets having so much fun together. He often puts their adventures on tape.

This is another video showing the two cuddling and enjoying their days.

No matter how much both Ed and Rex grew fond of Hammer, he is aware that the bids will eventually leave their home. She would probably want to be around those of her kind and form a family of her own. Ed leaves the house windows open in case Hammer wants to explore the outside world, but so far she opts for staying with her human daddy and her four-legged pal.

“I rescue this dog. He rescues the bird. The bird rescues all of us in a weird sense and it’s just a miracle,” Gernon said.

This trio might be unusual, but they became inseparable and love each other to the moon and back.

New Mom About To Leave Walmart Empty-Handed – Then a Complete Stranger Steps In

What looked like an ordinary shopping day at Walmart turned into an experience Jason Yoshino will never forget. He was the one who witnessed an act of kindness that left one mother speechless. He shared the video of the encounter online so that we could all see how someone’s day and even life may change because of a good deed.

We all know the struggle of having a little baby. They really are a real blessing from God and make our lives complete, but the costs related to their upbringing can be huge. That is the reason why many parents are looking forward to coming across different discounts and deals on essentials such as diapers.

That was exactly what Katie was doing. She visited Walmart in Sioux Falls, South Dakota hoping to buy three boxes of diapers and get a price-match deal. She took the boxes and headed to the register when the cashier told her she could only get a deal on the first box. Unfortunately, that meant Katie was about to leave the store empty-handed.

But here comes the part of the story that restores our faith in humanity and makes us continue believing there is still good in people.

An elderly lady of 73 overheard Katie’s conversation with the cashier and just couldn’t allow this mother not to get what she was there for.

The lady named Carol Flynn, a retired March of Dimes state director, was willing to pay the $120 bill. Katie told her how she couldn’t accept that because it was a lot of money, but Carol insisted.

According to Jason who “ran to Walmart real quick to grab a few things,” this was something he would never forget, because in this world of cold people who only care for their own needs, seeing something like this is not that common.

After the video vent viral and melted the hearts of many, Argus Leader contacted kind Carol who described her urge to step in saying:

“I just think we should do things like that. That’s kind of my thinking.”

Jason on the other hand told USA Today:

“You don’t see something like that every day in life. I’ll never forget it, to be honest with you.”

Katie was overwhelmed by the kind act.

“I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked,” she said. “I kept saying thank you and God bless you…Then I walked out in the parking lot and started crying. It just hit me. It was an awesome statement of what God’s love does.”

Carol was rewarded by Walmart, and the diaper’s company gave Katie four boxes of their products.

This heartwarming story is just a proof that no good deed ever goes unnoticed and what we should do is always pay it forward.

Doctor refuses to give up on lost cause patient

During our lifetime, we may face certain situations that seem impossible to overcome, so we find ourselves trapped in our personal inability to fight against the odds. But although life is full of unexpected things, we should always remember that it’s hard to beat a person who never gives up, like this brave doctor who did his best to make his patient “come back from the death.”

When the young man was brought to the hospital, he didn’t have pulse and the staff even contacted the coroner, but this particular doctor refused to believe that the young life was lost. What he did changed the way patients like this guy should be treated in the future and raised the question of whether sometimes doctors give up too early when things seem to be “lost.”

YouTube

25-year-old Justin Smith was walking home that cold February night when he collapsed and his body froze. The paramedics assumed he spent around 12 hours laying there on the side of the road in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.

Upon seeing the situation he was brought in, they knew he was beyond saving. Justin’s father Don who spent hours looking for his son was devastated by what doctors told him. He wasn’t ready to lose his son and refused to believe there was nothing to be done.

YouTube

Justin was then rushed to the Lehigh Valley Hospital where everyone expected from the doctors to declare him dead. But then, all of a sudden, Dr. Gerald stepped in and told the rest of the doctors and Don that he wasn’t willing to give up on Justin just yet. This surprised everyone around who believed that resuscitating someone whose body was frozen and had no pulse nor showed any signs of life was not a logical decision.

Despite the odds, Dr. Gerald performed a risky operation on the patient. Before he was taken to the operation room, Don kissed his son on the forehead and said, “I love you!”

Surprisingly, this operation was the right thing to do. Justin’s body warmed up and his heart started beating again.

It took this young man 12 days to open his eyes and realize what he had gone through.

YouTube

What this doctor did is beyond believable. Unlike his colleagues, he never lost hope. Many believe that he did what he did because he experienced the loss of a child himself and that affected the way he was perceiving things.

His baby was born prematurely and only lived for several weeks. Maybe his father’s instinct didn’t let him allow another father to experience the pain he did.

Justin is now aware that he was given a second change that he should grab and hold firmly. He lost his toes, but never lost the wish to live his new life to the fullest.

NFL player asks shelter for least adoptable dog and here’s who they gave him

Animal shelters are crowded with animals who are in search of a forever home and a family that will love them to the moon and back. But let’s get honest. We are perfectly aware that many potential adopters are looking for young pets that are more or less in a perfect shape. It’s a sad fact that the chances of a senior animal to be adopted are way lower.

But then, someone like Baltimore Ravens player Ronnie Stanley comes along the way and shows us that this doesn’t have to be the case. His story is just another proof how love and devotion can change the life of the saddest dog.

When he paid BARCS animal shelter a visit, he had an unusual request. He told the staff how he was looking for a very special dog.

“We are looking for a dog that’s been here a long time and maybe not-so-adoptable,” he said.

There were so many dogs in there who already spent too much time at the shelter, so Stanley, his girlfriend Emily and teammate Alexander Lewis were at the right place.

The staff showed Ronnie and Emily a few dogs, and they eventually decided to take lovely Winter in.

Source: Ronnie Stanley via Facebook

This is what BARCS wrote on their Facebook page. By the way, it went viral in a blink of an eye.

“Beautiful Winter is a dog who has spent most of her six years of life falling into sad, unfortunate situations. She was found on a vacant property, on a hot day with no electricity, or open windows. She was dehydrated and extremely frightened. Winter has a long, hanging belly, most likely a result of over breeding–something we see far too often at our shelter. Due to her age, her belly is not something that will ever tighten up. Female dogs with such characteristics are often passed by in our shelter–but not by Ronnie!

Ronnie’s thought on Winter’s belly, as recalled by our volunteers: ‘Well, that’s just what happens when you’ve had babies.’ He was much more interested in getting lots of face kisses from Winter and falling in love, rather than being worried about the appearance of her tummy. What a great guy!”

Source: BARCS Animal Shelter via Facebook

Winter got a new a lease on life. She got to run around the backyard, take long naps in her parents’ cozy bed, hang around with other dogs, and spend days full of fun. And yes, she even got a new name, Lola.

Stanley agrees that having Lola in his life is a real blessing. He is beyond grateful to the shelter’s staff for matching them with their loving pet.

He made numerous contributions to BARCS, among which adopting another cute dog named Rico, as well as participating in a fundraising campaign where he matched donations up to $5,000.

Lovely Lola only shows that even senior dogs have a lot to give and we should always give them a chance to spend the rest of their days among people who would do their best for their life to be worth living.

Hopefully, Stanley and Lola’s love will make other people opt for a senior pet.

Jared Halley sings unforgettable Billy Joel medley

If you check Jared Halley’s YouTube channel you will come across many unique acapella performances of the songs of many famous singers and groups of all time. This Ohio’s song writer and producer’s work is so entertaining and fun that you will definitely ask for more. The latest video that really caught our attention is that of Billy Joel’s classics. And although we’ve heard many famous artists doing renditions of his songs, you will surely agree that this one is unlike anything you’ve heard so far.

YouTube

Using only his incredible voice, Jared, or better said the five Jareds, covered 19 of the best Billy Joel’s hits.

The medley starts with our all time favorite “Uptown Girl” from 1983 that depicts what it is like when a backstreet guy falls in love with an uptown girl.

Then it switches to “You May Be Right,” a song that was on his album Glass House and a huge hit in US and Canada.

YouTube

The next lovey melody that combines in perfect harmony with Jared’s lovely voice is Billy’s single from 1984, “The Longest Time.” The original song features instruments such as bass guitar and drum, but the sound they make is impeccably substituted with the background Jareds snapping fingers to the rhythm of the music.

Some other songs, among which probably one of your personal favorite are, “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,” “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” “New York State of Mind,” and “Just The Way You Are.” He also performed “My Life,” “Only The Good Die Young,” “The River of Dreams,” “Big Shot,” and “Honesty.”

YouTube

Among all those classics we are all very fond of, Jared included “Piano Man,” the song that got Billy a nickname as that of the song’s title. Through the lyrics of the song, Joel speaks of his experiences and all those people he got to meet while working as a piano player at a bar. The characters he mentions, including a bartender named John and a real-estate novelist named Paul, are actually based on real people.

We are certain that if Billy Joel himself gets to listen to Jared’s performance, he would definitely love it as much as we do.

One person writes, “How could anyone not enjoy that? Great vocals!! The talent to put this together is amazing!” and we can’t agree more.

Trash collectors are about to crush garbage when they hear screams

We can believe that we are good people, but as long as we don’t treat the dependable and the vulnerable with the respect they deserve, we are away from the right to be considered humans.

It’s not that we should all be crazy about cats and dogs, but hurting any animal on purpose is the most despicable thing a person can do.

The following is the story of a poor soul that was severely neglected, but turned a real warrior and got out of the situation as a winner.

Back in 2017, two garbage men from Pennsylvania were on the job, and as they were about to press the button and crush the garbage they put into the garbage truck, a sudden scream prevented them from proceeding.

They knew something was very wrong so they opened the track lid and came across a sight that broke their hearts into a million pieces.

A gray cat was laying there, tied up and covered in gasoline. It was petrified and shaking.

YouTube

Once it was taken at the nearest vet hospital, it was determined that her condition was serious. The cat was malnourished and dehydrated. Actually, the doctors agreed it was the most severe case of neglect they’ve ever seen or heard of. However, they never gave up on Miracle Maisy and provided her with all the help she needed in order to get on her way to recovery.

She got this name because her survival was a real miracle. We hope she will get to spend the rest of her days surrounded with people who love her to the moon and back.

Darci Lynne returns to AGT stage

America’s Got Talent, the Champions is here and it’s better than we expected. All of our favorite winners, as well as many of the finalists from all the seasons, are now back again and compete for the ultimate award.

Now we have some great news. Lovely Darci Lynne took part and she wowed us once again. Even though it’s been only two years after she stole the hearts of every American, she is now a teenager and looking pretty stunning, and different. Darci and her smart-mouthed sidekick, Oscar had a lot to offer to the audience who is eagerly waiting to see who’s leaving with the title of the Champion.

YouTube

When she first took the stage of the show that makes dreams come true, she was just a 12-year-old kid with a passion and desire of becoming someone the world will get to know and love. Needles to say, she achieved her goal.

This shy little girl from Oklahoma turned into a real beauty that took our breath away and convinced us that she is no ordinary talent when her floppy-eared puppet Petunina pressed her paw against Darci’s mouth wanting to be the only one in the limelight and steal the show. That’s a moment to remember.

Darci’s cheeky ventriloquism performances are one-of-a-kind. Now, Oscar took Petunia’s place, but he is no less fun than she was. As the season 12 winner of AGT, Darci was a shoe-in for AGT’s latest series, which brings together plenty of fan favorites and returning winners from every corner of the world.

YouTube

In the latest all action-packed episode, Darci had her puppet by her side and wasn’t afraid to show her skills in a unique singing ventriloquist act.

“Well, I always love a good competition, but I missed being on ‘AGT’ and maybe having a chance to have the ‘World Champion’ title just seemed awesome so.”

Simon reminded her that as she was the first one up, the judges and the audience expected from her to set the standard for the rest of the competitors.

YouTube

Known for her quirky sense of humor, she didn’t fail to make everyone laugh when Oscar made a joke on Simon’s expense. Singing “Nutbush City Limits” and “Proud Mary,” Darci did show everyone why she got the winer title back in 2017.

Well, that is why many people were pretty shocked when she got eliminated from the champion series. However, this didn’t discourage lovely Darci who took to Twitter to make a comment, saying:

“I had a great time being on #AGTChampions and so thankful for @AGT bringing me back to compete. I love what I do and couldn’t do it without any of you guys!! Thank you for the endless support. Best fans in the world!💗🎶 “

We are always eager to see and hear more from this adorable young lady.

Siblings of bride surprise her with unforgettable dance number

This has to be one of the most heartwarming as well as most entertaining wedding ceremonies you’ve ever stumbled upon. We are all perfectly aware that weddings celebrate the love of two people who decide to devote the rest of their lives to one another, but can we really call it a real wedding without all the family members and relatives getting involved and making sure everything goes as smoothly as planned? I guess not.

This particular wedding was so great exactly because of that. Family!

The bride’s siblings decided to treat their loving sister with an amazing dancing performance none will never forget.

YouTube

The guests and the newlyweds formed a circle around the performers who resembled real professionals. The show started with the four boys dancing to Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” and as though the whole thing wasn’t sweet enough, they ended the routine by posing next to each other with black sunglasses on. Some fierce boys, don’t you think so?

Now it was the time for the four sisters to take the “dance floor” and show what they got. Dancing on “Tell Him” from the musical show “Glee,” they put smiles on everyone’s face. Dressed in cute pink dresses, they were dancing to the rhythm in a perfect sync.

YouTube

Both the brothers and the sisters got back with another act. Vibrant and energetic, they stole the hearts of everyone. The guests were clapping all along and the bride and the groom were more than happy with this perfect wedding gift.

At one moment, everyone was in anticipation to see what’s next. After the girls danced to an Indian song, “Radha” the boys joined them and now all of them were in the limelight. It’s obvious this was very well planed and it took them quite some time to practice and perfect every move, but it was definitely worth it.

The wedding guests were surprised and couldn’t hide their excitement by tapping their feet to the rhythm of the melody. This was a once in a lifetime experience.

YouTube

Unique and unexpected, there was nothing more this bride could ask for. She was struggling to hold her tears back because this was all too emotional for her. Even the little ones managed to remember every single step, and they were all beyond adorable.

After the performance was over, the siblings and the newlyweds shared a group hug and nothing could take that huge grin off their faces.

To be honest, this is really something you should see it for yourself because it’s too good for words. Enjoy!

Kathy Bates lip sync battle

Lip sync battles are something we are always waiting in anticipation because they bring lots of fun and laughter, mostly when we watch performances of someone who we never though could rock the challenge so perfectly just because they don’t “belong” to that type of music.

The generation gap is something real and it sort of “divides” the elderly and the youngsters, especially when it comes to lifestyle, including music genres. Let’s be honest, although we see the jazz is still well and alive, we don’t really see many of our grandmas listening or dancing to rap music.

There are, however, those who appreciate and listen to different type of music, just like one of our most favorite actresses, lovely Kathy Bates. Lip syncing Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” she puts on a show to remember and leaves the audience cheering out loud.

Facebook/Lip Sync Battle

This multi talented actress who usually plays characters who are frequently tough-talking and outspoken and is an Oscar, Emmy, and a Golden Globes winner is one of the most respected in the industry. Placing herself on the list of the greatest, it was just a matter of time when this 70-year-old icon would show off her other amazing skills, such as those of singing and dancing.

Her style during this challenge that she nailed is as unique as her performance. Wearing a faux fur coat, sunglasses, and the fedora hat so typical for Bruno Mars, she hits the tones and leaves the audience in awe. They are way too excited to be seeing Kathy in this new role.

Surrounded by hot dancers in pajamas, she opens a rock strawberry champagne and strokes a cadillac, which perfectly depicts the song lyrics.

Facebook/Lip Sync Battle

We now know that Kathy Bates is one hell of a dancer who always knows how to keep the crowd entertained.

Chrissy Teigen, one of the show’s hosts commented the performance saying:

“I finally have an answer when somebody asks me–which is always–‘What’s your favourite LSB moment ever?’ It is you on that stage, doing that foot slide.”

No wonder why her amazing performance has been seen around 6 million times. Check it out for yourself, this is way to good for words.

Man posts the 10 most important things he learned since losing his son

Richard Pringle’s three-year-old boy was “soft, gentle, caring and so lovable” that he could turn even the dullest things into fun and magical experiences his father will remember forever. Those three years Richard got to spend with his beautiful boy are the best three years of his life.

Sadly, the boy died suddenly on August 18, 2016 and left deep sorrow in his father’s heart.

According to Mirror Online, Hughie had a brain condition but led a completely normal life up until that fateful day when he suffered from brain hemorrhage and unfortunately, nothing could be done.

This bereaved parent from Hastings, East Sussex took a year for himself and tried to come to terms with the tragedy that struck his life after which he shared with the world what it really felt like to experience a loss of a child.

He shared his deepest feelings on the social media with the sole purpose to warn parents to never take the time they get to spend with their kids for granted.

Below are the 10 lessons Richard learned after losing his son – in his words. This is so touching.

“1. You can never ever kiss and love too much.

“2. You always have time. Stop what you’re doing and play, even if it’s just for minute. Nothing’s that important that it can’t wait.

“3. Take as many photos and record as many videos as humanly possible. One day that might be all you have.

“4. Don’t spend money; spend time. You think what you spend matters? It doesn’t. What you do matters. Jump in puddles; go for walks. Swim in the sea, build a camp, and have fun. That’s all they want. I can’t remember what we bought Hughie; I can only remember what we did.

“5. Sing. Sing songs together. My happiest memories are of Hughie sitting on my shoulders or sitting next to me in the car singing our favourite songs. Memories are created in music.

Facebook/Richard Pringle

“6. Cherish the simplest of things. Night times, bedtimes, reading stories. Dinners together. Lazy Sundays. Cherish the simplest of times. They are what I miss the most. Don’t let those special times pass you by unnoticed.

“7. Always kiss those you love goodbye and if you forget. Go back and kiss them. You never know if it’s the last time you’ll get the chance.

“8. Make boring things fun. Shopping trips, car journeys, walking to the shops. Be silly, tell jokes, laugh, smile, and enjoy yourselves. They’re only chores if you treat them like that. Life is too short not to have fun.

“9. Keep a journal. Write down everything your little ones do that lights up your world. The funny things they say, the cute things they do. We only started doing this after we lost Hughie. We wanted to remember everything. Now we do it for Hettie, and we will for Hennie too. You’ll have these memories written down forever and when you’re older, you can look back and cherish every moment.

“10. If you have your children with you. To kiss goodnight. To have breakfast with. To walk to school. To take to university. To watch get married. You are blessed. Never ever forget that.”

His gut-wrenching post on Facebook went viral.

These deep words and feelings touched the hearts of millions of people who got to read them. Many shared similar stories and expressed how they understand what he is talking about, whereas others believe Richard should publish a book that will help parents learn how lucky they are to have their children by their side.

Don’t ever forget to put your children first. They are our most precious gift from God.

Mother with dementia starts remembering again after son feeds her 2 foods every day

Nowadays, people are way too busy following strict working schedules and are torn between a bunch of commitments so forgetting things may come as a result of that kind of life. Age can also be the reason for the memory laps some get to experience from time to time. But when it occurs very frequently, maybe it’s about time to pay the doctor a visit.

Mark Hatzer could notice how his mother struggled remembering things, and as the condition became severe, she was hospitalized and diagnosed with dementia.

Unfortunately, it got even worse over time so at one moment Sylvia couldn’t even recognize her own son.

“When my mum was in hospital she thought it was a hotel — but the worst one she had ever been in,” Mark explained. “She didn’t recognize me and phoned the police as she thought she’d been kidnapped.”

Mark felt devastated. He had lost his father back in 1987, and now this illness was taking his mom away from him.

“We were a double act that went everywhere together,” he said. “I despaired and never felt so alone as I had no other family to turn to. Overnight we went from a happy family to one in crisis.”

However, this devoted son wasn’t about to give up that easily. He did lots of research and decided to fight the dementia with the right foods.

They learned how the inhabitants of the Mediterranean countries are less likely to suffer from dementia because of their eating habits, so Mark created for Sylvia a special diet.

The foods in the diet are made up of plenty of “brain-boosting” foods, two among them being walnuts and blueberries.

“Everyone knows about fish but there is also blueberries, strawberries, Brazil nuts and walnuts — these are apparently shaped like a brain to give us a sign that they are good for the brain,” Mark explained.

Other important foods she included in her diet were plenty of broccoli, oats, dark chocolate, green tea, and sweet potatoes.

Over time, she started regaining parts of her memory back.

“It wasn’t an overnight miracle but after a couple of months she began remembering things like birthdays and was becoming her old self again, more alert, more engaged,” he explained.

With the combination of body and brain exercise the condition started improving. However, nothing happened overnight. It took a lot of courage and determination, as well as lots of help from family and friends.

“People think that once you get a diagnosis your life is at an end,” Mark said. “You will have good and bad days but it doesn’t have to be the end.”

This diet seemed to work, so the Alzheimer’s society shares Sylvia’s recipes and exercises on their blog hoping they will help other patients ease the symptoms.

“It’s fantastic that Sylvia along with her son Mark have taken action to create a personal plan that works well for her dementia diagnosis,” said Sue Clarke from the Alzheimer’s Society.

“There is currently no cure or way of preventing the progression of the condition, but taking regular gentle exercise, eating a healthy diet and doing cognitive exercises can help someone with dementia manage their condition more effectively.”

Sylvia and Mark’s efforts may help a lot of other people feel better. Their commitment and devotion led to Sylvia being invited to one of Queen Elizabeth’s garden parties.

“For my mum, knowing that she has helped other people, has really helped her,” Mark said.

“I did this for my mum — she has got the condition and she has done all the hard work — but if what we’ve achieved can benefit other people as well then that’s great.”

We are really glad for Sylvia. She is one lucky lady for having raised such an exceptional son like Mark.

Mom goes to preschool to find baby has been bitten – camera reveals truth

Preschools are appalling option for many families. These facilities not only provide the children with daycare, but follow nicely designed programs for early learning that expose the little ones to letters, numbers, and shapes from an early age.

Another positive aspect of attending a preschool is that the child will learn how to socialize with their peers, as well as to share and to contribute.

However, one issue that these institutions are facing with is the lack of staff, and although parents have complete confidence in their kids’ teachers, it may happen that they have a lot on their plate for one day and miss when some of the kids gets into trouble.

Tracy Blinov, a mother from Montana, USA left her 7-month-old baby Eliana at the Busy Hands Preschool. This incident happened around 2 years ago, but she remembers it as though it happened yesterday.

As soon as she dropped her baby, she got a call from her teachers to come back because her daughter had been bitten on the face. Tracy rushed back and was shocked by the sight.

This mother is perfectly aware that little children may still not be aware of what’s acceptable behavior and what’s not, but she also believes that both the parents and the teachers should spend a quality amount of time shaping youngsters’ minds and trying to teach them to distinguish good from bad.

The problem here was that Eliana wasn’t bitten once, but multiple times. And Tracy wondered how could the teachers let that happen.

The surveillance footage clearly showed that the staff intervened only after she was all bitten. They say, however, that they stepped in immediately after they heard the girl screaming.

Previous incident

It wasn’t a first time for the child guilty of the attack to do this. She was expelled from another preschool all for the same reasons.

“This toddler that came in was a new customer and she neglected to tell us that the child was a biter and neglected to tell us that the week before she had been kicked out of Little Griz for biting a child,” said the owner, to ABC Fox Montana.“If that would have been told to us, we could have said ‘No, we can’t take her.’”

Eliana was treated with antibiotics, but this incident didn’t affect her energetic mood.

Tracy opens up on the incident:

“She’s in much better spirits today. I’m happy to say the bruising and swelling is coming down a little, it’s amazing how resilient babies are. So blown away by the support from everybody. ABC Fox Montana and KPAX will both be featuring stories on our sweet girl.”

The staff of the preschool were really sorry for the incident and assured the parents that they’ll do everything in their power to hire more teachers and have one adult responsible only for two students.

Every parent leaves their precious children under the wings of the teachers every day for eight hours, and they expect the employees to take good care of them.

Incidents like this one may affect the children deeply so that they refuse to get back to the kindergarten ever again.

This one speaks for the much-needed funds the state should provide for the daycare and kindergartens so that they can hire more teachers.

As for Eliana, we are glad she got back to the preschool and continued being friendly with everyone.

This is the scientist close to finding cure for Multiple Sclerosis which could help more than 2.3 million patients

Living with multiple sclerosis requires determination and strength, as well as courage to accept that you are battling against a debilitating illness. This lifelong condition affecting the nervous system is followed by many symptoms that vary from one individual to the other. It’s not terminal, nor contagious or inherited. In fact, the cause remains unknown.

Some of the signs of MS are fatigue, double vision, blindness, psychological issues, dizziness, poor balance, speech difficulties, emotional and memory problems.

Although there is no cure, the medicine is advancing every day and these people are hoping to ease their everyday. We bring you a story that gives hope to people facing MS.

Source: Wikipedia, Marvin 101

However, that may soon be a thing of the past as scientist Dr. Su Metcalfe is on the verge of a medical breakthrough.

With over 2.3 million people infected with the disease around the world, a cure for MS would be a medical wonder. Dr. Metcalfe thinks that the attack on the nerve cells can be halted thanks to a new medical development that has been made at her company LIFNano.

“Some people get progressive MS, so go straight to the severe form of the disease, but the majority have a relapsing or remitting version,” Dr. Metcalfe said to Cambridge News.

“It can start from the age of 30, and there’s no cure, so all you can do is suppress the immune response, but the drugs that do that have side effects, and you can’t repair the brain. The cost of those drugs is very high, and in the UK there are a lot of people who don’t get treated at all.”

Source: Cambridge Neuroscience

Dr. Metcalfe uses the stem cell particle LIF that is a part of the immune cell, and this specific stem cell particle is able to control and confine the attack on your body.

“I was looking to see what controls the immune response and stops it auto-attacking us,” she explains.

“I discovered a small binary switch, controlled by a LIF, which regulates inside the immune cell itself. LIF is able to control the cell to ensure it doesn’t attack your own body but then releases the attack when needed.

“That LIF, in addition to regulating and protecting us against attack, also plays a major role in keeping the brain and spinal cord healthy. In fact it plays a major role in tissue repair generally, turning on stem cells that are naturally occurring in the body, making it a natural regenerative medicine, but also plays a big part in repairing the brain when it’s been damaged.

“So I thought, this is fantastic. We can treat auto-immune disease, and we’ve got something to treat MS, which attacks both the brain and the spinal cord. So you have a double whammy that can stop and reverse the auto-immunity, and also repair the damage caused in the brain.”

Source: Cambridge News

Of course, further research needs to be done but Dr. Metcalfe’s medical breakthrough does sound very promising and finally provides hope for a permanent cure. A date for a potential cure has been set at 2020, although that date might be a bit overzealous. Nonetheless, a cure in 2020 could be possible if tests are positive and enough research can be done.

“The 2020 date is ambitious, but with the funding we’ve got and the funding we’re hoping to raise, it should be possible,” she says.

Dr. Metcalfe and her company are already looking to take down other severe diseases as well.

“Psoriasis is high up on our list, and diabetes is another. Downstream there are all the dementias because a LIF is a major health factor for the brain. So if we can get it into the brain we can start protecting against dementia.”

Stop wasting time and water cooking pasta in saucepan

Is there anything more appealing than having a bowl of Italian pasta with some flavoring of fresh tomatoes after a long day at work? I guess not. Plus the kids are going crazy over this dish which is definitely one of their favorite.

The only negative thing about pasta is that it takes ages to be prepared.

While cooking, spaghetti and noodles stick together and it may ruin the taste. The reason why this happens is apparently hidden behind the “wrong” recipe.

Luckily, we’ve stumbled upon the best pasta making video that changed the way we cook it. If you too waited for too long for the water to boil before you put the pasta in, now you can have equally delicious base for your meal by completely avoiding that part of the recipe.

Saves water, time and energy

You ask me how? Just get rid of the saucepan and get yourself a frying pan. No boiling water, and no waiting. Sounds nice, right?

Simply put the pasta into cold water that will prevent it from sticking and you are left with a small amount of pasta water you can use to prepare the sauce.

For the complete procedure take a look at the video below. This is definitely something I am trying right away!

Army veteran kicked out of a restaurant for bringing his service dog in

Being in the army and being deployed can affect the life of the military men and women. It’s not unusual for them to experience difficulties getting used to their old life and be around their old friends. Sometimes they need the help and the support of their closest relatives to overcome the situation they have found themselves in.

Major Diggs Brown served the Army for 30 years. His career in the military includes a tour in Afghanistan that left him with a post-traumatic stress disorder. This man now spends his days in the company of his service dog Arthur, his most loyal companion that never leaves his friend’s side.

“He does a lot of things. He wakes me up from nightmares when I have them. When I have anxiety attacks, he calms me down. He saved my life and I’m even off the drugs.”

Source: via CBS Chicago

Service dogs are allowed to accompany their owners whenever they go, including restaurants and other places. This right is guaranteed by law and the owners of every eatery are required to follow it.

These dogs, unlike therapy animals, go through rigorous training that helps them learn how to behave in public.

Sadly, not everyone is aware of this law and many times people accompanied by their service dogs find themselves in awkward and unpleasant situations.

When Major Brown visited Chicago back in 2015, he was asked by the waitress to leave the French bistro called Cochon Volant because the place apparently didn’t accept dogs in.

He tried to explain that Arthur wasn’t a regular dog, but someone he couldn’t function without, but the employee insisted that he leave and take his dog with him.

As Major Brown said later, he isn’t mad at the waitress because she only followed the place policy and wasn’t aware of the law. This situation triggered the question of the quality of training U.S restaurants’ staff are getting.

Source: Cochon Volant via Facebook

He recalls how he politely asked for his breakfast, and once he we turned down, he said:

“This is my service dog, he can go wherever I go, it’s the law,” Brown told the hostess.

Her reply:

“I don’t care, you need to leave, we don’t have dogs in the restaurant.”

Brown didn’t get involved in an argument. He simply got out of the place and headed back home to Fort Collins, Colorado.

But, he couldn’t stop thinking of the incident. He really wasn’t mad at the hostess, but he decided to share his story on his Facebook page just for the sake of raising public awareness of the importance of service dogs.

“When I got home, I posted to my Facebook page, this is what happened to me and it went viral.

Guess this would be a case of ‘No thanks for your service.’”

Soon after, the restaurant owners issued a public apology.

“The Cochon Volant family is both saddened and disappointed to hear this account of a veteran’s experience.”

Yesterday’s circumstance was not a true representation of our company policy and we have begun immediate internal review of protocol, training of staff and ADA regulations to ensure this will never happen again.”

They even donated to Puppies Behind Bars, the organization that provides training for service dogs, among which Arthur himself.

Source: Tap Haps

Brown further explained:

“It’s not my intent to destroy a restaurant but it is my intent to make them aware that they have violated a law that not only affects veterans with dogs, but other people with disabilities with service laws and that they need to be aware that it’s discrimination. They’ve stepped up to the plate and they are going to make some changes at the restaurant so I’m happy in my mind that it is resolved.”

Later, he returned to Chicago once again to take part in a walk hosted by the organization No Barriers that works with veterans with disabilities.

However, we don’t know whether he returned to the restaurant again.

Nine-Year-Old violinist wows with “Despacito” cover

Young children with remarkable talent for music always blow me away. And I like the fact that most of them, unlike many adults, know how to cope with the stage fright if they even have it.

Karolina Protsenko is a nine-year-old prodigy that plays the violin like no other kid her age that we know of. Her recent performance took our breath away. Moving to the rhythm of the famous “Despacito,” she caught the attention of the passersby of Santa Monica who couldn’t help but stop and enjoy the performance.

YouTube

This exceptionally talented and stylish young girl made the onlookers’ day leaving them with a smile on their face.

Happy to be given the chance to witness something this extraordinary, they filled her bucket with money.

And as a real star in the making, she ended her show by treating the crowd with a smile and a bow, holding her instrument under her arm.

YouTube

Karolina runs a YouTube channel where she posts videos of her performances that are followed by 100,000 people.

“I am Karolina Protsenko,” reads the description of her YouTube channel.

“I’ve been playing violin since I was 6 years old. My desire is to bring a little bit of magic and inspiration into the world through my love to violin. Thank you for helping me share the gift of music. I love you.”

She does exactly that. Gives the world a bit of magic through her performances of covers of some of the most popular songs such as Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.” So she is definitely not a classical musician but is using her instrument to create a violin music blended with pop elements. Needless to say, the final result is a real treat for the ear. If you don’t believe us, you can check her channel and take a look at the number of performances she has shared there.

Source: BBC

This is not the first time, however, for us to come across this newly created genre of music knows as pop violin.

Many agree how Karolina is a mini version of Stirling. One person says: “Props to her for doing this with Lindsey Stirling moves…amazing!” We’ve heard of Stirling and her unique music after she took the stage of the fifth season of America’s Got Talent. It’s fun how the judges of one of the greatest music talent shows didn’t really see it in her. They made it clear that her music was fine, but it didn’t impress them a great deal.

”You’re not untalented, but you’re not good enough, I don’t think, to get away with flying through the air and trying to play the violin at the same time,” said judge Piers Morgan.

Source: Trending All Day

Later, Stirling became a world famous YouTube sensation. She created new kind of music and it was enchanting to listen and to watch.

Her style is distinctive. She manages to blend electronic and classical elements in original music and covers. Her performances are vibrant, and full of energy that is easily transferred to the crowed, so her shows are one-of-a-kind.

Stirling has around 2 million subscribers and has released five albums. Some of the names she worked with are Pete Hollens and the most famous acapella group Pentatonix.

Source: Uptown Theatre Napa

She’s not mad at the judges for turning her down because it made her more determined to achieve greater things.

“It hurt so bad because it was kind of true, and I think the truth hurts way more. And they were right. I hadn’t earned or developed the skills to be able to dance, to be thrown around up in the air while playing the violin. It’s really difficult.”

Now, years after she became a very successful star, she got invited to be part of the show once again, the season for the “Champions,” but she politely refused the invitation to get back on the stage of America’s Got Talent

“It was really funny because they called me, and I thought maybe they wanted me to be a guest performer or something and I literally, my jaw kind of dropped,” she said. “They were like, ‘We want to invite you back on America’s Got Talent.’ And I was like, ‘Thank you. I don’t mean to be rude, but I would never come back to compete. Like, I’m sorry I do really well on my own now. I tour the world. Thank you, but absolutely not.’ It was a funny moment for me.”

As for Karolina, we believe she’ll become a world sensation just like Stirling because she has a spark that shows her confidence and her love of performing.

Her talent is undeniable and people accepted her as a girl that has so much to give in the years to come. One person comments:

“I’d probably drop every single penny in my pocket in the box. It touched my soul!”

It touched ours as well. She is a unique young lady that is on the right track.

Everyone ignored homeless man sobbing at Burger King until 1 woman posted a photo of him online

If you’re worried that your faith in humanity is dwindling down to nothing, fear not! Katy Hurst is a woman with a heart of gold who will teach you why you should never stop believing in the good in people.

As she was waiting for her food at Independence, MO Burger King, an unusual sight caught her attention.

A man in his late fifties was sitting there weeping.

“I pulled around to wait for my order and he was there and he broke down crying,” Hurst told KMBC.

Someone identified the upset man as Pops.

“I saw him crying, he broke down and I didn’t know who this person was,” Hurst told FOX 43. “I had seen him through the community. He used to have a bike with a cart.”

Source: KMBC Screenshot

Pops later told KMBC how he felt like he couldn’t take it anymore. He was tired of everything. Of his sad faith, of the pain he was feeling, of the people who would always choose to ignore his desperate need to be given a helping hand. He said how he was praying for an angel to get him home.

“I told him there’s a place at the table he set for me, I’m hungry, I’m ready to eat…if there’s room prepared for me, I’d like to come home,” he said.

Hurst was there to change all that. She assured him how his life wasn’t going to end that day. And she kept her promise.

“I was lonely, I was sad, I kept having one bad time after the next,” he told FOX 43.

Source: YouCaring

She welcomed him to her home where he could take the much-needed rest. He was obviously in a bad shape and needed to see a doctor as soon as possible. Hurst understood how he was robbed and beaten, and he suffered severe injures.

“He said, ‘I have a broken collarbone, I have broken ribs, I’ve been beaten up,’” Hurst told FOX 43. “He needed somebody to step in and help him. That’s what I did.”

This wonderful lady shared Pops’ story with the world and asked kind-hearted people to step in and help as much as they could.

“Pops needs our help to show him that this world is still full of good people!” the YouCaring donation page reads.

Hurst’s plea inspired people to donate funds, and so far more than $7,500 have been raised.

Pops was given new clothes and hot meals, but his journey towards his brand new life has just started. He has a long way to go. But with the help of the community and people like Hurst nothing is impossible.

Source: YouCaring

“He was very nice and a soft-spoken gentleman,” said hairstylist Pamela Denson. “He said all he did was pray. The only way he knew how to ask for help was to pray.”

The goal is to raise enough money for Pops to be provided with a place to stay.

“We have to help each other and helping each other helps all of us,” said Hurst.

You can make a donation to help out Pops here.

Denzel Washington shares his feelings about the Christian faith

Faith in God has always been an important part of Denzel Washington’s life. This Oscar and Golden Globe awarded winner has spoken up about his religion in attempt to encourage young people not to be ashamed of their love for God.

Denzel was born December 28, 1954, in Mount Vernon, New York. He has known of God since the moment he became aware of the world, as a very young boy. His father, Reverend Denzel Hayes Washington, Sr., served God all his life. His mother, Lynne Washington, was a beauty salon owner.

Denzel had special relation with both his parents. They were all very close as a family. Denzel talks about his relation to his father saying:

“My father, my earthly father, Denzel Washington Sr. was a pastor for the Church of God in Christ for 60 years…

I know he’s smiling in heaven, seeing his son doing the best I can do today, by the grace of God.”

This was the life he knew until he turned 14 when he started hanging out with many different friends who didn’t have positive influence on him.

He was getting involved into fights very often and his relation with God sort of faded away after his parents divorced. Their separation affected the life of young Denzel a great deal.

His performance at school was poor, so his mother knew she had to make a change in her son’s life and try to get him back on track. She decided to place him in the nearby Oakland Military Academy.

This life changing decision brought God closer to Denzel once again. His faith became stronger than ever and that won’t change in the years to come.

According to the St. Louis American, this is what the actor had to say for the moment of enlightenment.

“I had flunked out of college. I had a 1.7 grade point average. I had no future…. I was sitting looking in the mirror and I see a woman behind me sitting under the dryer. Of course, the voice of God always comes from under a dryer.

She said, ‘young man, you are going to travel the world and speak to people.

Now mind you, I was 20 years old, with a 1.7 grade point average and had flunked out of school. She said, ‘you are going to preach.'”

These words came to young Denzel as sort of awakening. He knew he had to choose his next step carefully, so he eventually opted to enroll in Fordham University choosing medicine as his major. In the meantime, he played some baseball and everything seemed fine, but not for long.

Denzel didn’t feel complete. He knew he had to make a change so he took a semester off and pursued other options. In one moment he turned to Camp Sloane YMCA in Lakeville, Connecticut where he was offered a job position of a Creative Art Director. That seemed like a great idea.

The Camp Sloane website explained how their program helped propel Denzel into the actor he is today:

“The counselors there put on a talent show for the kids. I put together these little poems and rhymes and skits for the kids in my cabin, and we stood up on stage and did our bit. After the show this guy named Miles Joyce came up to me and said, ‘Man, you ever thought about being an actor?'”

That wasn’t something he ever though of doing, but the word “acting” sounded challenging.

Needless to say, getting involved into acting was the best decision he could ever make.

He returned to college but ditched his old studies and studied Arts in Journalism instead.

Quickly after, he found himself in a completely new world. That of Hollywood. He had his break up role in “Carbon Copy” and his career went upwards making him one of the best and most famous world actors.

After that breakout role, Denzel landed spots on Glory, Crimson Tide, The Preacher’s Wife, Malcolm X and The Hurricane, just to name a few!

But Denzel’s biggest film thus far, Training Day, brought him the highest award possible in Hollywood: an Oscar for Best Actor. It was his crowning achievement after nearly two decades in the industry!

Despite his incredible success, he told Charisma News that God never lost faith in him:

“There’s never been a time where God didn’t direct, protect, and correct me…. There may have been times where I was less than faithful to Him, but He had faith in me.”

He believes he owes his success and fame to his faith in God. Both he and his wife Pauletta Pearson are devoted Christians who managed to keep their marriage strong despite the pressure his career had on their relationship.

Denzel told the Huffington Post that couples nowadays don’t seems to share the same drive to make things work:

“We live in a time – and it’s not for me to judge anyone – when people give up too easy.”

In the same Huffington Post article, Pauletta said that marriage isn’t all happiness and roses:

“I live with this man. I see the down part. I see the sad part. I see every part.

He has and knows he has that stability in me as his wife.

That’s gives him strength, regardless of if he misuses it. I can’t dwell on that. But I do know that gives him a great platform to go and fly.”

Their marriage of 33 years is still one of the strongest in Hollywood. The reason why? Denzel says:

“Two phrases. One is “yes, dear” and the other is “honey, you’re right.” Be patient. Be good friends first. And stick together. You gotta work at it. I’ve been married 31 years. It’s not all a honeymoon, it’s not all flowers and roses, but if you’re friends and partners and committed, you’ll be okay.”

A good marriage means never giving up of one another.

“I just think that you have to work at it. Not give up on each other. It’s a commitment. It’s not all the honeymoon, it doesn’t last forever, so you work at it.”

Although fame can come and go, the faith in God and the relationship with the right person are forever.

In addition to his marriage advice, Denzel told Evangelical Focus that there’s one thing you have to keep in mind during the good times and the bad:

“Number one, put God first in everything you do.

Everything that you think you see in me and everything you think I’ve accomplished and everything you think I have… everything I have is by the grace of God, understand that. It’s a gift.”

He shares his life story with the world to inspire those who are struggling with doubt. He adds that although he lost his faith in God at some point in life, God never lost faith in him.

Toddler Performs With Brass Band In New Orleans

I don’t think there is anyone out there who doesn’t appreciate good music. Many times, even if we are not in the mood of singing or dancing, we find ourselves lightly moving around in the rhythm or mumbling the lyrics once our favorite song comes along.

Take this lovely boy for example. He got into his role of a musician so much that he managed to put huge grin on the onlookers’ faces. Looking at him rolling will melt your heart. The band is more than happy to let him join them in.

Little Boone and his mommy Stefanie are from Pensacola, Florida but they were taking a trip to New Orleans where they stumbled upon the performance by the band of jazz musicians who are well known to the New Orleans residents. “Where Ya At Brass Band” got together back in 2010 and are making the crowd happy ever since. They performed at the 2014 NBA All-Star Game, the 2013 Texas Music Festival, and the 2016 Jazz Musical Press Conference.

The Jackson Square was the place where all the fun was that day.

Passersby were stopping to enjoy the incredible sound coming from the square, but none could imagine that the show they were putting on will become even more entertaining with another member joining in.

Cute Boone was holding in his tiny hands an object resembling a trumpet and confidently started “playing” on it as he approached the band members. They accepted the boy with a smile and were glad he decided to add to the fun.

One of the musicians squatted behind Boone while blowing his trumpet and that made the boy swaying his hips while blowing his “trumpet.”

Everyone enjoyed the sight, including Stefanie who couldn’t hold her laughter back. She was so proud of her son. He didn’t mind performing in front of an audience, and acted as though he had done it countless of times before.

One of the people who witnessed the cute performance recorded it and posted it on YouTube.

The crowd couldn’t stop clapping as the band let Boone steal the show by putting him in the limelight. After a while, Stefanie thought it was enough “playing” for that day so they both thanked the band members and left.

As they were leaving the square, Boone didn’t stop “playing his trumpet.”

Everyone agrees that this toddler is one-of-a-kind. Not every child his age has the courage to stand in front of a bunch of people and pretend to play the instrument. He is a real star in the making.
