Elderly man in a wheelchair gets outside to watch cranes every day so worker makes him a deal

Some people can’t wait to retire and spend the rest of their lives enjoying the beautiful things that surround them instead of being stuck at the office or other places of work long hours. There are also those, however, who are so passionate about their job that they simply can’t imagine walking away of it. One such person is Mr. Harold from this story.

Namely, Harold used to work as a crane operator and he loved his job very much. Unfortunately, due to health reasons, he ended up in a wheelchair and was forced to quit.

Now, Harold lives in a nursing home.

Another crane operator, a young man by the name Shawn Beveridge of Ohio, loves what he does as well. While on the job, Shawn noticed this elderly gentleman in a wheelchair getting outside the nursing home and watching how the cranes operate for hours. At first, Shawn was confused. He wondered why someone would look at those cranes all day and couldn’t come up with a logical reason. What was very interesting was that the elderly man would take lunch brakes at the same time the workers would, and it made things even more confusing for Shawn.

“Since day one when I arrived on this job site I’ve noticed him sitting there every morning from 7 a.m., he takes lunch when we do and doesn’t leave until I shut the crane down and head out,” Shawn wrote in a Facebook post. “I originally had thought to myself, ‘He’s just a curious old man and wanting to enjoy his days outside vs being cooped up in his room.’ Well after a couple days, I myself got curious, so I walked over and introduced myself to him.”

Eventually, Shawn decided to approach the man one day and try to find answers to his questions. The man said his name was Harold and explained how he was a crane operator himself in the past.

It turned out that Harold suffered from clogged heart valves among the rest.

“He said he enjoys seeing what he use to love to do for a living and never thought he’d ever be able to see or be around a crane again. Let alone be so close to see one in action,” Shawn added.

Harold also told Shawn that his children, two daughters and a son, haven’t visited him in the last seven years, not once.

That broke Shawn’s heart so he decided to make a deal with Harold. He told the elderly man that he would come to him every day after his shift is over and he would bring him lunch of his choice twice a week. In exchange, Harold would teach him more about the job.

“He didn’t skip a beat before ABSOLUTELY! came out of his mouth. I guess I’m writing this post because if I would have never walked over to him Iwould have never gotten to know him. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to make this man’s last days enjoyable. Filled with purpose and to be able to help him smile again,” Shawn wrote.

Shawn’s post of the encounter with Harold touched many hearts. It vent viral in a very short time and people praised him for his kindness towards Harold.

The young man used that as a chance to encourage others to help people in need whenever they can.

“I challenge any of you on here to not be like I was in the beginning and don’t be afraid to make someone else’s day better. Always try to enlighten someone’s spirits. When God chooses to take this man home I’m happy knowing that I’ve been placed here at this location to make his days better. I’m happy with that.”

Thank you, Shawn. We should all learn from you. You are an awesome young man.

“Pathway to Heaven” captured in photo of tragic car crash

It was April 25, 2017, and 19-year-old Anisa Gannon was driving to work when she witnessed a horrifying car crash taking place. Two young women, 23-year-old Hannah Simmons and her friend, 28-year-old Lauren Buteau, were driving Hannah’s daughter A’lannah to a routine check-up when Hannah lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a truck. The truck driver didn’t experience any severe injuries, but Hannah, Lauren, and A’lannah lost their lives at the scene.

Hannah was also pregnant, so the fatal accident claimed the lives of four.

Anisa was already late for work so she decided to take a photo of the crash and show it to her boss while explaining why she wasn’t on time that day. However, little did she know that the photo would bring some sort of closure to the family of those who lost their lives.

Namely, Anisa didn’t notice anything unusual on the snap, but when she showed it to her aunt, Tara Noble, she noticed the very clear beam of light rising up from the wreck. It resembled a path to the sky.

“Anisa, it looks like a pathway up to heaven,” the aunt said.

When Anisa became aware of the “pathway to Heaven” she felt the urge to show the photo to Hannah’s and Lauren’s families. She believed it would provide comfort, and she was right.

Source: Anisa Gannon

When she was shown the photo, Hannah’s mom, Judy Simmons, said, “I just needed something to show me that they were in Heaven and that they were OK. And that was my confirmation.”

Lauren’s mom, Dana Buteau, shared Judy’s sentiment and wrote, “I can’t explain the feeling [that] came over me. It was like watching them go to heaven.”

The photo was a sign, and it helped the bereaved families move on. It helped them with their grief and provided a touch of comfort. It was all they needed during such tragic times.

“Nothing’s ever going to be the same, my heart’s broken and I miss them daily,” Judy said. “If it wasn’t for the picture, I don’t know, it made it a whole lot better for me.”

She said she keeps the photo on top of her TV so that she could see it every day and to be reminded that her daughter and granddaughter are at a safe place.

Hannah’s fiance, who lost the love of his life, his nine-month-old daughter, and his unborn child said Anisa’s photo brought him peace. “[The photo] is bringing me peace, I know they’re watching down on me. It’s helping a lot.”

Great Robin Williams once consoled a crying woman at the airport after her husband’s suicide

Not many people possess the ability to impact others in ways and forms that lead to crucial changes in their lives. Speaking of those special individuals, we can’t help but think of one and only Robin Williams. His incredible talent and a heart of gold made him one of the best people the world has ever heard of.

He could make everyone laugh, even while he was going through personal struggles.

Unfortunately, Williams died of suicide on Monday, August 11, 2014, and left millions mourning his death. The news came as a huge surprise. People couldn’t stop but wonder how someone so cheerful and fun could die in such horrific manner. But there was more to the story than everyone assumed. The autopsy revealed that Williams had Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), a neurological disease in which protein deposits, called Lewy bodies, develop in nerve cells in the brain regions involved in thinking, memory and movement (motor control), and not Prskinson’s disease as doctors claimed during his life.

Robin Williams was greater than life. His inspiring speeches and quotes which touched many hearts reflected the way he lived.

Now, one woman named Kate Lyon Osher shared an emotional encounter she had with the late actor while she was crying at the LA airport. She had her late husband’s ashes with her and the TSA security gave her a hard time.

“…It wasn’t always easy to get a Tupperware of your late husband’s ashes through TSA security, and at LAX one afternoon I found myself on the receiving end of an agent with a power trip like no other,” Kate wrote, as quoted by HuffPost.

In order to be able to proceed, she had to show her husband’s death certificate, which made her cry.

“I made it to the airport bar still crying and clutching my little container,” Kate went on to say. “I sat in a corner table facing the wall so no one could see how hysterical I was, with my whiskey on the rocks providing support, and I felt a hand on my shoulder.

“‘Miss, I just want to be sure you are OK. I see you are traveling alone, and I saw what happened, and I just really want to be sure you are OK,'” a soft voice said.

As she lifted her head, Kate realized it was Robin Williams. She never thought someone that famous would be walking at the airport all by himself and would take the time to make sure some random woman was doing okay.

“I was still crying that ugly cry where you are trying to catch your breath, and I gave him the Cliff Notes version of circumstances,” Kate recalled. “His eyes got a little glossy. His voice got softer. And he said to me, ‘Addiction is a real b–ch. Mental illness and depression are the mother of all b–ches. I am so sorry for all the pain your husband was in. I’m so sorry for the pain you are in now. But it sounds like you have family and friends and love. And that tips the scale a bit, right?’ And he walked me to the gate, as we were on the same commercial flight.”

Williams made Kate laugh. He tried impersonating the TSA security guys in order to cheer her up, and he nailed it.

“…when we parted ways, he hugged me. With his famously hairy arms, he gave me a huge, warm, bear hug, and it sustained me. It was a moment I think about all the time. That moment saved me. And sustained me. He sustained me during one of the most difficult moments of my life,” Kate wrote.

The news of Robin Williams’ death broke Kate’s heart.

“Rest in peace, Mr. Williams,” she continued. “May you find the peace that eluded you here and may you keep the angels laughing. Thanks for being there that day for me. You were the angel I needed. And I know you spoke from experience, and I appreciated that.”

Robin Williams was one of a kind. We still miss him dearly every single day.

School staff raises money and gets beloved custodian his dream car

Chris Jackson, who works as a custodian at Unity Grove Elementary school, is one of those people who are always more than happy to step in for everyone in need of help. From students, to school stuff, he’s never turned anyone down when it comes to lending a hand.

Jackson has never lost his positive attitude despite the fact that he has found himself in some hard times recently.

As it turns out, he experienced difficulties making ends meet, and on top of that, he was forced to walk to work every single day because it only takes him an hour, while taking the bus would add an hour more, sometimes hour 45.

Source: YouTube/ 11Alive

Speaking of his situation, Jackson told 11 Alive, “We had buses, transportation, but I was quicker than the bus. It would add an hour, hour 45. And I was only an hour from my job. So for me, there’s no stopping me.”

No matter his personal struggles, he never considered quitting and finding another job because he loves working with the people and the students at Unity Grove Elementary. “But I didn’t quit. I didn’t run away. I just stay. I put my pride aside. I just come to work, smile, be me,” Jackson said.

Source: YouTube/ 11Alive

In order to pay him back for everything he does for the school, Jackson’s colleagues decided to surprise him with a new car. They knew he was saving for one, and stepped in for him, just as he has stepped in for them many times before.

In a Facebook video, we see two teachers asking Jackson to come with them at the parking lot pretending they need some sort of assistance. Jackson, as always, agrees to help. He has no idea he is about to get the car he dreamed of buying for so long.

As they approach a Chevrolet Impala, one of the teachers hands Jackson the keys. He is left in complete disbelief when he realizes the car is his.

“If y’all was in my body right now, I can’t move!” Jackson can be heard saying. “I’m stuck. I’m really stuck.”

Source: Facebook/ Unity Grove Elementary

Speaking of the idea to surprise Jackson, Special Ed Teacher Jodi Combs said, “There has never been a day where he has not come in with a smile on his face. The kids here adore him. They love Mr. Chris. And he just works so hard.

“We heard that Chris had fallen on some hard times and we pulled together to help with his immediate needs.”

This story is truly inspiring because it reminds us that humanity is still alive.

The 1960’s golden boy of Hollywood, Richard Chamberlain looks awesome at 87

“The slim, butter-haired hunk with the near-perfect Ivy-League charm and smooth, intelligent demeanor, had the distaff fans fawning unwavering over him.” This is how great actor, who portrayed the role of Dr. Kildare, Richard Chamberlain, was described at the time he appeared on screen and stole the hearts of many.

Shutterstock

Richard was born in 1934 in Beverly Hills, California, to mother Elsa Winnifred and father Charles Axion Chamberlain, a salesman. Although he didn’t enjoy school, he still managed to graduate from Beverly Hills High School and attend Pomona College.

Ever since he was very young, Richard imagined himself playing on stage and on screen. “We used to go to double-bills on a dime and I thought, ‘Whoa, that’s a good place to be—up on the screen,’” he recalled speaking to Palm Spring Life. “I was always fascinated with the idea of being an actor. The problem was I was always a little withdrawn, shy, and not very sure of myself. But the people up on screen seemed so confident.”

After college, Richard decided to try himself in the film industry and Paramount Pictures was interested in him, but as the Korean war took place, he was drafted into the Army for 16 months. After his service, he was convinced his place belonged in Hollywood and went on to make his dream come true.

In 1961, after playing minor roles, he was cast for that of Dr. Kildare. This series was his major breakthrough which helped him make a name for himself.

Overnight, Richard became one of the most beloved actors with millions of fans. Dr. Kildare brought him not only fame, but also a Golden Globe Award for Best TV Star in 1963.

The series followed the life of Dr. Kildare and his relationship with his mentor Dr. Leonard Gillespie, played by Raymond Massey, at the  fictional “Blair General Hospital.”

The reason why people loved the series so much, according to the star himself, was that the doctor was portrayed as caring and someone who was always there for his patients.

”It was hugely successful right from the beginning all over the world. It was my ultimate dream come true, everything I had ever dreamed of for my own life and creativity, it was a phenomenal stroke of excellent good fortune,” Richard said. “I think people are fascinated by medical protection, of situations in life like this. Everybody knows that someday you’ll be sick, break something or another problem, and you’ll need a doctor.”

As MGM, with whom Richard had a contract at the time, wanted to use his fame in order to promote other movies in which they cast him, so he shot around the clock and barely took any rest.

”I never got any time off. And if their was a week or so off, they’d send me somewhere and do publicity. I took ballet classes and singing lessons after work, so I kind of escaped.”

A post shared by Richard Chamberlain (@richard_chamberlain) on

After Twilight of Honor and Joy in the Morning, Richard turned to his first love, the theater, and was part of a number of productions, including The Philadelphia StoryPrivate Lives and West Side Story. He then went to England where he played in productions like Hamlet in 1969 and Richard II in 1971.

Richard, however, believed his job in Hollywood wasn’t done and he returned to California. He starred in Shogun in 1980 and The Thorn Birds in 1983. The latter brought him a Golden Globe Award. The series itself won several Golden Globes and several Emmy Awards.

In 2003, at the age of almost 70, Richard finally confessed what he tried hiding most of his life, that he was a homosexual. He made the confession through his book, Shattered Love. Some of his closest colleagues said they knew deep down that Richard loved men.

Speaking to the New York Times, the actor who was ranked at No. 7 in TV Guide’s list of “TV’s 25 Greatest Teen Idols” said, “When you grow up in the ’30s, ’40s and ’50s being gay, it not only ain’t easy, it’s just impossible. You cannot do it, that being gay was the worst thing you can possibly be. I assumed there was something terribly wrong with me. And even becoming famous and all that, it was still there.”

The now 86 year old actor has still a lot to give to the film industry. He recently starred in the drama film Finding Julia and according to his Facebook page he will be part of the fictional drama Echoes of the Past.

Richard said in 2019 that during these last past years he finally figured it out how to be happy to be himself.

Mysterious sea creature ‘larger than a human’ captured on video

The thought that creatures still unknown to humans live deep down the ocean is simply fascinating. The truth is that the number of undiscovered species of various aquatic animals is huge and the more we learn of the sea and ocean world the more stunned we are.

Recently, a group of marine biologists were investigating seafloor anomaly at the Red Sea when they noticed something unusual deep bellow the surface. After further inspection, they realized they stumbled upon a wrecked ship named “Pella,” which sank back in 2011. As the OceanX technicians decided to send their remotely operated vehicle (ROV) down to the ship to investigate further, they got more than they ever hoped for.

All of a sudden, they noticed an enormous creature which they described as “larger than a human.” In fact, they believe it was a giant squid. The greatest anyone has ever seen.

Mattie Rodrigue, OceanX science program lead, said of the unusual experience, “I will never forget what happened next for as long as I live. All of a sudden, as we’re looking at the bow of the shipwreck, this massive mysterious creature comes into view, takes a look at the ROV, and curls its entire body around the bow of the wreck.”

Source: YouTube/ OceanX

After consulting other experts, one of them, zoologist Dr. Michael Vecchione, said, “I can tell you what I think it is and why I think it is. I think it’s a species called the purpleback flying quid. And in the area that you’re operating, in the Red Sea, there’s a well-known population of those. They get really big. I think what you’re seeing is what’s called the giant form of Sthenoteuthis.”

He added, “They will approach a bait the way that that one approached that bait and they often swim the way that the other videos showed the animal swimming. And in particular, the fin size, the proportions of the fin relative to the body, show me that it’s not a giant squid. If you stop it right there, you see it’s got fins that are short and broad and sort of thicken together. They look like sort of an arrowhead. I know that you probably wanted to think that you had some video of giant squids, but I can tell you but I’m absolutely certain it’s not an Architeuthis dux.”

What happened to Nicole Lewis from “600-lb life?”

Losing weight is never easy. It takes a lot of discipline and a strong mindset. However, when some people reach certain weight, they know it’s time to change their eating habits, and with that, to change their lives.

Many individuals who are overweight and don’t see a way out of the situation they found themselves in seek help from professionals. One of those professionals who has given a new lease on life to so many obese people is the one and only Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, also known as Dr. Now, a bariatric surgeon.

Over the years, he has helped many overweight people take control of their lives through the TLC show My 600-lb Life.

Source: Youtube / The List

One of the participants of the show was then 23-year-old mother of two Nicole Lewis. She weighted over 700 pounds at her heaviest and had a hard time performing even the simplest of tasks.

What caught the attention of the viewers was the way Nicole took her baths. Because her bathroom’s door didn’t fit her, she would get outside her house, on the porch, where her daughter or her fiance would bath her using a hose.

This moment being shown on TV was crucial for Nicole to get on the show, according to her. It was embarassing, but it was her only chance to meet the famous doctor.

”When they came to my house, they were like, ‘Okay, we have to do a shower scene, we have to do real life stuff … for you to be a part of this process,” Nicole explained in an interview with Rover Radio in 2017.

”I sat and thought about it for the longest time,” she continued. ”And it was either, me not let them do that, and me not get the help, and possibly not be around another year, or just to let it happen.”

Source: Youtube / The List

When she went to Texas, Nicole listened to Dr. Now’s advice and started losing weight. However, at one point, she learned she got evicted from her home and was forced to return to Ohio for some time. Despite that, Nicole followed the strict diet, got her surgery, and managed to lose over 300 pounds.

When she thinks of the first ever episode of herself in the show, she says she doesn’t want to watch it because it was the period of her life when she hit the rock bottom.

”I hate the episode because that was a point in my life where I should not have existed other than for my children. I was an annoyance to my family, is what I felt,” she said.

Source: Youtube / The List

Today, Nicole looks completely unrecognizable. After so many years spent at home, she finally found a regular job. Unlike many of the participants of the show who end their relationships after their transformation, Nicole stayed with her fiance.

Last year, she shared some photos of herself and wrote, “I may not be even close to where im suppose to be! But This comparison shows me… that im sure as heck not where i began in 2016!.. Proud of how far iv come in this journey! I have been soo focused on how much weight iv gained,… when i should be focused on how much iv lost!. 2020 is my year!”

Source: TLC / Twitter

Nicole stayed in touch with Dr. Now but she distanced herself from the show. In fact, in the spring of 2020, she filed a lawsuit against the production company because as she claimed, they never paid for medical costs in connection with the bypass surgery, which she said the company would do.

Chumlee from “Pawn Stars” is unrecognizable after losing 160 pound

Ever since it first opened back in 1989, people have tried to pawn and sell a huge number of unique items to one of the most famous pawn shops there are, The Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada. The place now hold thousands of pieces and resembles a museum with all the historical items including hand-written letters from presidents, pistols from a number of different wars, and a lot more. In fact, it probably has to offer anything that comes to your mind.

The great thing about this store is that over the last 12 years, we’ve got to witness how it operates all thanks to the reality show Pawn Stars. The everyday encounters of the owners of the shop with different people who have a lot to offer, along with the experts who appraise the artifacts, made Pawn Stars one of the best reality shows on TV. It doesn’t really come as a surprise that it has been on air for 12 years now and that it won a number of awards, including ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards for Best Television Series in 2011, 2012, and 2013. In addition, the show has been nominated for three Critics Choice Television Awards.

When the shop was approached with the idea to be filmed for a reality by History Chanel, the founder of the store, Richard Benjamin “The Old Man” Harrison, disliked the idea. His son, Rick Harrison, told Review-Journal. “He thought it was the craziest, stupidest thing he’d ever heard. I remember telling him, ‘Dad, you’ve got to come in Saturday for the sizzle reel.’ And he looks at me and says, ‘Rick, you’re never getting a bleeping TV show. It’s just not going to happen.’ I begged him to come in that Saturday. But we had to have him. He was the grumpy old man that everyone loves.

“At first, I just thought a season or two would be good for business,” he added. “It’s really bizarre. I’m just a fat pawnbroker, and now I’m known all over the world.”

Ever since 2009, a staggering 637 episodes have been shot.

Source: Facebook/ Chumlee

“The Old Man” passed away in 2018, and Rick took the shop over together with his son Corey and Corey’s childhood best friend Austin Russell known as Chumlee.

Chumlee became a crucial part of the show and turned into a celebrity. He’s one of those characters who make people laugh and bring all the fun.

Source: Shutterstock/s_bukley

Speaking of the start of the show, Chumlee recalled on the podcast PodKats!, “They were making a short episode and we had about 12 employees at the time. They went through everybody, saying, ‘All right, who’s going to be our fourth member?’

“I didn’t watch too much TV, but I decided I’d go watch some TV, some reality shows, and I kind of realized what was missing was the funny part of the show, the whipping boy is what I called it at the time. Someone they could make fun of and laugh with.”

Chumlee turned out to be just the guy for the role.

Source: YouTube/ Pawn Stars

While on the show, Chumlee also expanded his own business Chumlee’s Candy Shop, where he sells candy, clothes and different accessories.

“I would do a spinoff show, but everyone says the grass is greener on the other side,” Chumlee told Looper.

“But we love doing Pawn Stars, takes us about seven months to film it out of the year. I just don’t know if there’s enough in the candy shop, it’s in the shipping container right there.

“What I think we should do is a spinoff of the whole pawn [area]. There’s the barbecue next to me, I’ve got the candy shop, you know what I mean, Corey can have the pizza.”

Source: Facebook/ Chumlee

At one point of his life, Chumlee weighted 350 pounds, but he then decided to make a change in his life and turned to a healthier lifestyle, following his friend Corey’s example.

“I went in and tested for sleep apnea, I had to do something about it,” he told Looper. “I got the machine and it just wasn’t that great, so I went to the doctor, just to get a consultation on getting a balloon, and by the time I left, he had me signed up to get all my procedures done to get a lap band. I’m sorry, not a lap band, a gastric sleeve. I mess it up. A gastric sleeve.

“They actually cut my stomach out and sewed it back up into a six-inch pouch and it settles somewhere around eight or nine inches, they say. And that’s been the tool I needed because it’s still a mental battle. I still have that mental battle. I always tell people I got that big because I enjoy eating food. Enjoyed the taste of it, it’s comforting.

“So I got the surgery, it’s helped me, it’s been a mental battle. I stay in the gym, but I try to go not continuously in there. I try to go there three days a week, I miss weeks here and there, but I just try to stay focused and eat well and live healthy.”

Chumlee shared two photos of him on Facebook showing him before and after his weight loss.

“Can you believe it, I’ve lost over 150lbs !! How many people out there have always struggled with your weight like I did?” he wrote.

“What has been the hardest part about losing weight for you? Drop your questions below!! I want to see how I can help you out.”

According to his friends, he’s not planning on going back to his old self and is dedicated to his new and improved lifestyle.

Last year, he took to Twitter to remind his followers of what’s important in life. “Success shouldn’t change you,” he wrote. “Any more than you’re normally, naturally gonna change and evolve as a person, which I think everyone does. But, if you let success change you, you’re not being true to yourself. I just stay true to myself, and if I make myself happy, along the way, I’m sure plenty of other people will be happy.”

We are so happy Chumlee is feeling the best he has ever had.

Military dad reunites with daughter after being deployed when she was just 10 days old

When we say that our military men and women sacrifice a lot when serving the country and getting deployed in far away lands, we mean it. Just imagine missing out on such meaningful events such as birthdays, holidays, celebrations, and many times, missing out on seeing your child grow up.

Unfortunately, a huge number of children are “robbed” of the opportunity to be around their military mom or dad, but they know that there’s a lot at stake, and that’s the freedom of our country and the safety of its citizens.

The best part about deployment are the reunions. Over the years, we have witnessed many touching reunions between parents and their kids, and the following is likely one of the best we’ve ever seen.

When Jordan, 24, and his wife Sophie Hatt, 22, decided to tie the knot, they were both perfectly aware of the fact that Jordan would be away for quite some time. Three months after the wedding, Sophie got pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl whom they named Lily.

However, when Lily turned 10 days old, Jordan was deployed. He was forced to say goodbye to his tiny bundle of joy, but he knew duty was calling, and he accepted that call.

Almost a year later, in May 2021, the father returned home in Florida.

The video mom Sophie took melted thousands of hearts. She said, “He felt bad leaving me alone to raise our first child and I was dreading being without him and doing it on my own.”

Luckily, they are now together and can watch their girl turning into a lady.

Cleo Smith’s mother shares crushing update after her four-year-old daughter vanished in remote WA

The search for 4-year-old Cleo Smith who vanished from a campsite in rural Western Australia is still ongoing.

The family said that when they woke up on Saturday morning, at around 6am, the girl wasn’t there. She was wearing a one piece pajama suit and they last saw her at about 1.30am on Saturday near the Blowholes Campground at Macleod, some 50km north of Carnarvon where the family was staying. According to the police, she woke up at that time to ask for a glass of water and then fell asleep again.

Source: 7NEWS

WA Police senior inspector Jon Munday said they are all hoping the little girl is still alive.

“We are throwing all stops at this,” he said. “We hold grave concerns for Cleo. Every hour and every day that goes on we get more and more concerned.

“We have the best investigators from state crime with forensic working as hard as they can to cover all bases.”

The search, which started on Saturday, was resumed on Tuesday afternoon after a three-hour stop because of the bad weather.

Land, air and sea crews led the search up and down the coastline and around the campgrounds where the family had been camping. The entire area has been covered in posters as locals and other campers also joined in the extensive search for the little girl. SES and helicopter crews have been deployed as well.

Thousands of people are sharing Cleo’s mother, Ellie Smith’s, Facebook pleas in an attempt to help with the search.

Speaking to news.com.au, Inspector Munday said “It’s a very, very harsh environment. Until today it has been quiet warm, and there’s limited freshwater around. If she is out in the area, we do have grave concerns for her.”

At the time, the police and everyone involved are considering two scenarios, Cleo either wandering off, or being taken by someone.

Munday added that their concerns are getting more and more grave.

According to the family, who spoke publicly for the first time on Tuesday morning, Cleo’s sleeping bag was also missing at the time they realized the girl had vanished.

We are all praying for a positive outcome.

Richard Gere isn’t only an awesome actor who landed a number of iconic roles throughout his career, but he’s also a heartthrob loved and adored by millions.

Speaking of his childhood, Gere describes it as “normal and all-American.” During his young years, he was both into music and gymnastics, and says there’s still a photo of him with a side horse in his high-school and he even took his son there once to see it.

Being in love with music, Gere even wrote some songs himself, and soon, he found himself getting a lead role in the rock musical Soon in New York.

Shortly after that, he decided to try his luck in London where he played the role of Danny Zuko in the musical Grease. However, as the production was later set up in New York, Gere returned to the States. In the early 1970s, Gere found his place in Broadway and then did what many other actors have done, he turned to the big screen.

Throughout his rich career, Gere was part of some of the most awe-inspiring movies, including American Gigolo, which established him as a leading man and a sex symbol, An Officer and a Gentleman, and one of the greatest romcoms, Pretty Woman.

Speaking of Pretty Woman, Gere revealed that he was hesitating whether to accept the role, but it was Julia Roberts who convinced him to stare opposite her.

“To be honest, I didn’t know if I was doing this movie yet. She’s across the desk, we’re getting to know each other, we’re flirty-flirty, nice-nice,” Gere told Smooth Radio in 2015.

“And [Marshall] calls up and it’s kind of like, ‘How’s it going?’ And I’m going, ‘Yeah, yeah,’ and she takes a piece of paper. She turns it around, and she pushes it to me. It said, ‘Please say yes.’ It was so sweet. And I was like [miming talking on the phone], ‘I just said yes.’”

Richard Gere has been married three times. His first marriage, with Cindy Crawford, lasted for four years. In 2002, he married Carey Lowell, with whom he has son Homer James Jigme Gere, who is now 21 and resembles his famous father a lot.

In 2018, Gere tied the knot for the third time, this time with Alejandra Silva who is 33 years his junior. So how did the two meet?

According to people close to the couple, they first met when they were quite young as their parents were friends. But it took a lot of years for them to be re-introduced to each other again by a mutual friend.

The moment they reconnected was when they felt there was chemistry between them.

Silva grew up in Spain and is working as a human rights activist. She’s also the founder of the non-profit initiative Beautiful Life Fund.

Speaking of her relationship with Gere, Silva told Hola! back in 2015: “Our karma was attracted the moment we saw each other. I’m not ignoring our age difference and what it means to be with a Hollywood star, but when there’s such a strong karmic energy, the problems disappear.

“Love stories with a complicated beginning, where you have to overcome difficulties together, can bring you closer,” she explained. “I’m sure I did [have some doubt] at some point. In the beginning, he was more convinced than me. But from very early on, we felt that we were destined to be together.”

Instagram/AlejandraSilva

The two have two children together. Silva gave birth to their first son in 2019 and a year later they welcomed their second baby boy. She said that she’s living a fairytale and loves her man, because as she says, what could be more beautiful and more romantic than a man who writes you songs every day.

Before moving to New York, Silva converted to Buddhism and says that decision changed her life forever.

“In this life it had to be like this. He has promised me at least 20 good years,” she said on their age difference. “I have to confess that he has much more energy than me; he’s much more active. I find it hard to keep up with him. He’s not human! Everyone who sees you together says Richard’s crazy about you.

“He knows I love him madly, ” she added. “I think I bring him stability. Above all, it helped I wasn’t an actress or a model. I never had any interest in that. What has united us the most is our desire to help other people who need it, our commitment to Buddhism and the Tibetan people. And he was able to see my unconditional commitment as a humanitarian, as a person, as a woman… It’s the sweetest, most romantic dream I’ve ever had. That’s why I’ve decided to stay in it!”

The actor is as happy and as fulfilled as his wife. He says she’s his soulmate and admires her for being an incredible mother to their children.

When it comes to these two, age truly is just a number.

Gabby Petito died by strangulation, coroner confirms

Gabby Petito’s case attracted the attention of the entire country when she failed to return home after her trip with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie. In fact, he returned to his parents’ home in Florida in September all by himself and refused to tell where Gabby was.

Her parents filed a missing person report and were hoping for a positive outcome. Unfortunately, Gabby’s body was found shortly after in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming.

Brian Laundrie became the sole person of interest in the homicide case but he fled his parents’ home and has been on the run ever since.

After the videos of Gabby taken by two police officers were shared online, all eyes were on the case.

As the police is doing all in their power to get to Laundrie, others are also involved in his tracking. Dog the Bounty Hunter is one of those who is helping in the process. He’s sharing updates of his personal investigation on his social media sites.

“Just got an update from Dog the Bounty Hunter’s team. They say he’s headed back to Colorado soon to meet with his doctor after injuring his ankle in the search,” reporter Josh Benson shared on Twitter.

“He (Chapman) says he will continue to process leads in Colorado while he’s there.”

Source: Instagram/gabspetito

As Laundrie remains the only person of interest, so far, he’s only been charged with using Gabby’s credit card without authorization.

The family of Gabby was waiting for the coroner’s report in order to learn how their daughter died. Finally, on Tuesday afternoon, during a news conference, Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue revealed that 22-year-old Gabby Petito died by strangulation. He also added that the process took some time because he wanted everything to be right having in mind that Gabby’s body was in the wilderness for around three weeks before it was found.

Laundrie family lawyer, Steven Bertolino, issued a statement to remind people that Brian has only been “currently charged with the unauthorized use of a debit card belonging to Gabby” and added that his client is “only considered a person of interest in relation to Gabby Petito’s demise.” He described Gabby’s death as a “tragedy.”

Referring to his statement, Gabby’s mother, Nicole Schmidt, told ABC 7 News: “His words are garbage. Keep talking.”

Rest in peace, Gabby. You are dearly missed.

Paul McCartney opens up about life after his wife’s passing: “I cried for a year when Linda died”

John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr changed the world of music forever. Their band, The Beatles, is the most popular and certainly most influential band in popular music history. People from every corner of Earth were so in love and so obsessed with these four Englishmen that a phenomenon called “Beatlemania” was shaking the world back in the day.

Their popularity was causing mass hysteria and fans, especially girls, were going crazy over their idols.

Flickr

One would say these four legends could have as many girls as they wanted, but still, Paul McCartney fell in love with wife Linda who stole his heart the moment he laid eyes on her and they stayed together until the very end. Linda was diagnosed with breast cancer and passed away on April 17, 1998, aged 56. Today, 22 years after her death, Paul is still mourning her loss and does his best to keep the memory of the love of his life alive.

The Paul McCartney collection

Paul and Linda, who was a professional photographer, first met at the legendary Shea Stadium in New York, after a concert with The Beatles. Linda was there to take photos of the boys and met her idol John Lennon. “It was John who interested me at the start. He was my Beatle hero. But when I met him the fascination faded fast, and I found it was Paul I liked,” Linda is reported to have said, according to the book The Paul McCartney Encyclopedia.

The second meeting between the two took place around a year later, in a crowded bar. Linda had a date with another guy that night but seeing Paul made her change her plans.

“The night Linda and I met, I spotted her across a crowded club, and although I would normally have been nervous chatting her up, I realized I had to … Pushiness worked for me that night!,” Paul McCartney said. ”I was quite shameless really. I was with somebody else [that night] … and I saw Paul at the other side of the room. He looked so beautiful that I made up my mind I would have to pick him up,” Linda said of that serendipitous night.

Three years after this meeting, the pair tied the knot in an intimate ceremony with fans waiting for the newlyweds in front of the Marylebone Register Office in London.

None of the members of The Beatles was present at the wedding. ”I really don’t remember whether or not I invited any of the band to the wedding. Why not? I’m a total bastard, I suppose – I don’t know, really. Maybe it was because the group was breaking up. We were all pissed off with each other,” Paul explained in the book “Many Years From Now”, written by Barry Miles.

Paulmccartney.com

Before marrying Paul, Linda was a successful photographer. A photo of Eric Clapton that she took appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in 1968. Later, she focused on taking photos of the people from her surrounding.

After the break up of The Beatles, Paul and Linda started a band together, Wings, and were active for 10 years, and although they had concerts and hits that topped the charts, fans would say they weren’t really a real band as Linda didn’t actually played. “I taught Linda the basics of the keyboard … She took a couple of lessons and learned some bluesy things … she did very well and made it look easier than it was … The critics would say, ‘She’s not really playing’ or ‘Look at her—she’s playing with one finger.’ But what they didn’t know is that sometimes she was playing a thing called a Minimoog, which could only be played with one finger. It was monophonic,” Paul said.

The two were very happy together and raised four children, one from Linda’s previous marriage, but everything changed after she was diagnosed with breast cancer that quickly spread to her liver. Until the very end, Linda was active and did many things together with the man she loved so much. The couple was on vacation and rode horses together just days before she said the final goodbye.

Paul was crushed. He lost two important women in his life, his mother and his wife, from the same illness.

His mom died of breast cancer when he was just 14 years old and he remembers his dad hiding and crying. “We had no idea what my mum had died of because no-one talked about it. She just died. The worse thing about that was everyone was very stoic, everyone kept a stiff upper lip and then one evening you’d hear my dad crying in the next room,” Paul told BBC in 2019.

When Linda died, Paul confessed that he cried for a year, and even now, he can’t get over the fact that she’s no longer by his side. “You expect to see them walk in, this person you love, because you are so used to them. I cried a lot. It was almost embarrassing except it seemed the only thing to do,” he said.

We are very saddened by the loss of such an incredible woman like Linda.

Loretta Lynn shares the devastating news of her ranch foreman’s passing in the floods last week

Few female country singers impacted the music industry as profoundly as Loretta Lynn.

This incredible woman experienced a lot throughout her life, including personal tragedies which filled her heart with grief. She lost two of her children, son Jack and daughter Betty Sue Lynn, and her husband of many years, Oliver “Doo” Lynn. Now, she shared on Facebook that her ranch foreman, Wayne Spears, died in the Tennessee floods.

Shutterstock

Loretta met and married Oliver when she was just 15 years old. He was 21 at the time. They lived in a ranch and she was quite busy taking care of her home and her many children. During the younger years of her life, Loretta was a typical housewife, but then her love for music changed it all.

When she first started singing, she thought to herself: “Gee whiz, this is an easy job.”

Her first song, which was her ticket to the world of music was the piece I’m a Honky Tonk Girl. She wrote the song in 20 minutes on a $17 guitar her husband had bought her as an anniversary present.

“I just sat down with my guitar,” she told NPR Music. “I was outside and leaning up against the toilet in Washington State. And I sat there and wrote ‘Honky Tonk Girl’ and ‘Whispering Sea.’”

The song led to a contract with Decca Records after which she appeared on the Grand Ole Opry.

Songs which started topping the charts started coming out one by one, and soon after, the name Loretta Lynn became very-well known around the country. Her music was controversial at times, but that didn’t force the young singer to “shut down” her outspoken mind. Some of the songs which caused a stir at the time were Dear Uncle Sam, told from the perspective of a wife whose spouse is entering the Vietnam War and one of the first country songs which spoke of the war, and The Pill, which tackled the controversial topic of birth control.

Loretta’s autobiography, Coal Miner’s Daughter, which lent the name from one of her most popular songs, became a New York Times Best Seller. It was later adapted into a film which received numerous awards and several Academy Awards nominations. Sissy Spacek, who played the role of Loretta, received an Oscar for her brilliant performance.

In 1988, Lynn was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Among the rest, Loretta revealed in her autobiography that her marriage was troublesome at times because Oliver was an alcoholic, but the two always stayed strong together. “I miss him so much. He kind of kept things going, like me recording. He’d always tell me how good I was, and that always helped a lot,” she told NPR Music. “He would say, ‘You know, we need to get a new record out,’ or whatever. He always kept me moving. And if it hadn’t been for him, I wouldn’t have been singing, period. Because he thought I could sing and he put me to work.”

Despite being 89 years old, Loretta is still very active. Her career spans six decades. In 2010, she was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2013 she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Barack Obama himself.

A few days ago, she posted a touching tribute to her ranch foreman who sadly lost his life after he was swept away by the flood in Tennessee.

“There are no words at the ranch today…only tears. Our ranch family is our family. We lost my amazing ranch foreman, Wayne in this devastating flood.

“He took such good care of things here on the ranch for us. He’s one of us and the whole Lynn family Is heartbroken. Please pray for his precious family and friends.”

She continued: “With the heaviest of hearts we are saddened to report that our beloved foreman Wayne Spears did not survive being swept up in the flood waters.

“Wayne has been a family friend to the Lynns and a fixture to the Ranch for decades and we are all devastated by his passing.”

We are very sorry for her loss. Our hearts go out to Loretta during these sad times for her and the family.

Courageous teen steps in when stranger behaves inappropriately with girl in store

Weird or unpleasant situations may occur everywhere and to anyone. When people encounter weirdly acting people, they usually try to avoid them and get out of the potential danger.

However, Cameron Cook, age 17, from Boston did just the opposite.
Cameron was with his mother at Target in Boston. While the mother was shopping, Cameron noticed something very strange. He saw a man approaching a little girl.

The man was touching himself and was gazing at the girl. That made Cameron think that something was indeed worrying.

Cameron says that the man had a ‘demonic look’ and knew something was very wrong.

His mother insisted they stay away, but Cameron refused that. Speaking of the incident, he told CBS:

“I seen the guy grabbing himself, and my mom goes, ‘Cam let’s go, keep walking.’ I was like, no, something’s going on.”

Source:YouTube/ CBS Boston

Cameron turned out to be a very brave young man. This is something that even his mother did not know.

She was also not aware that Cameron was about to save the girl from a terrible misfortune.

He took a closer look at the man and smelled on liquor so the young boy knew he needed to act fast.

As soon as Cameron reached the man, he asked him if he knew the girl. The man’s response was: “I’m not a pervert! I’m not a pervert!” to what Cameron replied: “I didn’t ask you that, sir.”

Source:YouTube/ CBS Boston

Cameron’s persistence paid off. He continued confronting the man. Therefore, the weird man became uncomfortable and ran out of the store.

Thanks to Cameron, the girl remained safe and sound. If it was otherwise, the girl’s fate would be totally different.

The Boston Police Department also advices the parents to keep an eye on their kids.

For Boston Herald, Cameron says that he does not want a recognition for his action. What he wants to achieve is to inspire others to be brave and confront such people.

He also added:

“Anybody should just have the courage to stand up. It’s not even about courage, it’s just being a person, a human — anyone can step up and do something like that.”

Well done Cameron. You did the right thing. Our society would be a better place to live in if we have more people like you.

For his bravery, Cameron was honored by his city council and the Boston Celtics basketball team.

Soldiers unaware passenger overhears them talking on a plane until flight attendant approaches their aisle

A lot of times in our life we face the opportunity to offer someone a helping hand. It makes me really happy knowing how many people won’t even hesitate to grab the chance to make someone’s day and put a smile on someone’s face. Those people are what we need more of in order to make the world running.

Denny Kukich is a big-hearted man who did exactly that; taught us how doing a good deed can go a long way and influence others to become better individuals.

Flickr/Lisa Brewster

Recently, Denny was taking a flight and while he was waiting for the plane to take off he contemplated whether to read his book or take a nap during the trip. At the same time a group of soldiers entered the plane and sat in the seats surrounding Denny, so he decided to chat with some of them instead.

“Where are you headed?”

Flickr/California National Guard

The soldier explained how they are headed to Peawawa together with the whole crew where they would be involved in a two-week military training before they take the ship off to Afghanistan for deployment. As they were engaged in the conversation, it was shortly interrupted by the flight attendant who announced that the passengers could buy sack lunch for $5. There was still one hour till the end of the trip remaining so Denny assumed everyone will buy lunch, especially the soldiers who were probably hungry and headed to work.

But, that’s when he overheard one of the soldiers saying that he won’t buy lunch.

“That seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn’t be worth five bucks. I’ll wait till we get to base.”

Denny looked around and that’s when he realized that none of the soldiers would eat during the flight, and the reason was obviously the money. It didn’t take long for Denny to take matters into his hands. Being aware of the sacrifice these people make to serve the country and risking their lives so that the ordinary people like him could sleep peacefully at night, buying them lunch was the least he could do to repay for their service. He approached the flight attendant and gave her $50 telling her to serve the soldiers lunch.

“She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. ‘My son was a soldier in Iraq; it’s almost like you are doing it for him.'”

For the nice thing he did, Denny himself was offered a first class dinner plate. He got even more surprised when a passenger handed him a $25 because he as well wanted to be part of the act of kindness.

“‘I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.’ He handed me $25.”

It appeared that Denny’s deed was a start of a beautiful chain of generosity. The flight captain congratulated Denny saying, “I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.”

Denny had no idea that everyone witnessed what he did. But, somehow lots of the passengers were now grateful for his selfless act so he received more money from the strangers.

Flickr/SC National Guard

Once the plane landed Denny was left with a total of $75 he got because of what he did. He gave those money to the soldiers as well.

“Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them $75. ‘It will take you some time to reach the base… It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.'”

Denny walked to his car satisfied knowing that he was an inspiration for other people to get involved in the amazing gesture that left 10 soldiers feeling appreciated for their sacrifice.

School calls dad about his daughter’s ‘accident’, so he arrives to pick her up with his own ‘accident’

Recently, a sweet girl named Valerie Sowards had a little ‘accident’ while she was at school and she felt so embarrassed that she started crying and wanted to go home.

The school called her father Ben and informed him of what had happened. Learning his daughter felt uneasy made his heart break. So, this clever and caring daddy did something truly amazing before he went to pick Valerie up.

Well, knowing he’s a father of 11, it doesn’t really come as a surprise that he knows how little kids’ brains work. He was convinced his girl would feel much better knowing that such ‘accident’ can happen to others too, so he entered the school with his pants splashed with water on the front.

When Valerie saw her daddy’s wet pants her problem didn’t seem so large anymore so she started smiling. The two tried to cover up their ‘accidents’ the best they could.

The rest of Ben’s kids found the whole thing hilarious, so one of his oldest daughters, Lucinda, took a photo of her dad and Valerie and posted it on Twitter. People found it so sweet that it spread on the social media like a wildfire.

Everyone praised Ben for his creativity in solving the girl’s little problem. But this wasn’t the first time for him to do something like this. Lucinda recalls the time when she fell while ice-skating and ended up with a black eye. Ben empathized with her by coloring his eye black too when he FaceTimed her.

If this isn’t enough to get him the parent of the year reward then I don’t know what is.

I hope I will be as cool as this amazing father when I have kids one day. Parenting done right, don’t you think so?

Prison inmates notice guard officer collapse. They grab his gun belt and phone and had to choose

During a hot summer day, six inmates and an officer in charge were working at the Polk County Cemetery mowing the grass before Father’s Day.

At one point, the officer complained how he wasn’t feeling fine. In the next moment, he fell on the ground unconscious.

The inmates didn’t even hesitate a bit before they rushed to help him. One of them took the officer’s phone and dialed 911, while the rest stripped off his gun and his vest and did all they could to revive him while waiting for the help to arrive.

Luckily, emergency services arrived just in time to save the officer’s life. According to 11Alive, he was released from hospital the same day and was feeling fine.

The story quickly spread in the media and it somehow changed the way we feel about the people who serve prison time.

One person wrote, “I hope this eases the stereotype that not everyone in jail or prison is bad. There are some awesome people locked up. They just got caught in a bad situation at some point in their life,” and we can’t agree more.

As a sign of good behavior, the inmates’ sentences were reduced by one-fourth.

Loyal dog travels 125 miles to find owners that rejected her

Maru, a Bullmastiff, was just a year old when her owner decided she didn’t want her any longer because she was apparently allergic to her and placed her on the Trans-Siberian train back to the kennel in Novosibirsk where she was born.

But things didn’t go as planned as Maru made a daring escape out of the train and tried getting back home.

Once out, Maru found herself in the middle of the Siberian forest which is an incredibly scary place for a dog to be alone at. Surrounded by wolves and bears, this brave and determined dog walked 125 miles. The only thing on her mind was getting back to her owner, not knowing she wasn’t welcome there any longer.

The journey was terrifying, dangerous, and hard, as Maru was also wounded and had difficulties walking.

Witnesses and the train staff later said that Maru used her paws to open the compartment door as the train made a stop at a remote station near Achinsk. They tried to catch her and get her back on the train, but Maru was quick and wouldn’t let them do it.

When Alla Morozova, the kennel owner where Maru was supposed to get, learned what happened, she organized a search for the missing animal. She knew the teams had to locate her as soon as possible as no one survives at those forests for a long time.

Thankfully, after nearly three days, Maru was spotted at an industrial estate near her former owner’s home. Exhausted, dehydrated, and starving, she was tracked down just in time.

Maru was lucky enough not to be killed by some of the fierce wild animals.

‘Luckily neither bears ate her, nor wolves chewed her up,’ Ms Morozova told The Siberian Times.

‘She was very tired. She was lame, her paws were broken.

‘The pads on her feet were damaged. Her muzzle was broken.’

The Siberian railway truck Maru followed is the longest not only in Russia, but in the world too. The poor dog was forced to cover 125 miles, or 200 km of it.

According to the train staff, Maru fled the train because she felt scared being there without her human family. Panicked and confused, she jumped off the train and no one could stop her.

‘The noise of the train scared her.’

When the train stopped she ‘jumped on the compartment door, kicked the handle to open it, and almost threw the conductor out of the way.

‘She jumped out like a bullet.

‘When the door opened to the platform, she jumped out into the night, into the taiga (swampy Siberian forest).’

Ms Morozova believes that if it wasn’t for her wounds, Maru would actually manage to get back home.

‘I’m sure that she was looking for her house,’ she said.

‘Dogs are very attached to people.

‘She did not run to Novosibirsk, she wanted to go back where she lived.’

Once at her birth place, Maru learned that even though her humans didn’t want her to be part of their family any more, there were those other humans and animals out there who enjoyed her company, such as this tiny dog pictured with her.

Ms Morozova said how Maru is now reunited with her mom and dad who are also at the kennel in Novosibirsk. She also says how she’s really mad at Maru’s owners for not showing any signs of concern for Maru and didn’t join the search even though they were aware that they were the ones who put her in danger in the first place.

Maru is currently going through recovery and is staying at the kennel until Ms Morozova and the staff decide what to do next.

Boy fails his exams, the teacher’s letter leaves his mom in disbelief

Many times, children with autism are not fully accepted by the society because of the opinionated people who see them as different and not fit for some wider accepted ‘standards.’ Sadly, many fail to understand that these children are individuals with their own set of abilities and preferences. Unfortunately, they are rarely treated as such.

Ben Twist is an 11 year old boy who is challenged with the disorder. Recently, he had taken an SAT test at school and failed. That’s when one of his teachers sent his parents a letter. Ben’s mother, Gail, believed it said how her boy should reassess his work and take the test once again, but as it turned out, this letter was quite different and nothing like she expected it to be.

The school Ben attends, Lansbury Bridge High School & Sports College, is a place for students with special needs, and every child in this institution is encouraged to perform the best they can. The teachers are compassionate, loving, and caring. And they proved this to be true once again.

Twitter/Gail Twist

The letter was full of words with encouragement and listed all of the special skills Ben had, highlighting that the standardized tests don’t measure all of the extra talents he possesses. It was written and signed by Mrs Clarkson.

She Wrote:

“Dear Ben, I am writing you to congratulate you on your attitude and success in completing your end of key stage SATs. Gil, Lynn, Angela, Steph and Anne have worked so well with you this year and you have made some fabulous progress. I have written to you and your parents to tell you the results of the tests. A very important piece of information I want you to understand is that these tests only measure a little bit of you and your abilities. They are important and you have done so well, but Ben Twist is made up of many other skills and talents that we at Lansbury Bridge see and measure in other ways.”

This was definitely something Ben’s parents didn’t expect to read. The act touched them to the core.

Twitter/Gail Twist

She went on, writing:

“Other talents you have that these tests do not measure include: -Your artistic talents, your ability to work in a team, your growing independence, your kindness, your ability to express your opinion, your abilities in sports, your ability to make and keep friends, your ability to discuss and evaluate your own progress, your design and building talents, and your musical ability. We are so pleased that all of these different talents and abilities make you the special person you are and these are all of the things we measure to reassure us that you are always making progress and continuing to develop as a lovely, bright young man. Well done Ben, we are very proud of you. Best Wishes, Mrs. Clarkson”

This amazing teacher wouldn’t let Ben feel down because of the test results. In fact, she always knows how to recognize what each of her students is good at.

Twitter/Gail Twist

Teachers like Mrs. Clarkson make the difference in the way not only autistic students but all students in general feel about their abilities and what they can achieve in life. Way to go Mrs. Clarkson, you really are one-of-a-kind.

Rude woman calls tattooed man a ‘dirty biker’ so he takes to Facebook to reveal who he truly is

Ever since we were little children, our parents taught us to never judge people based on their physical appearance. Sadly, there are still those who make assumptions about others based on their looks.

Luc Perreault is a big guy with a heart of gold. He drives motorbikes, loves drinking beer, and has a lot of tattoos, and that is why some people dub him a bad guy. The truth is that Luc is a gentle giant who wants to break the stereotypes about the bikers.

Luc never judges anyone as he knows that different people face different struggles in their life. So, he makes sure he minds his own business without ever offending anyone.

But, just recently, he experienced a very unpleasant situation.

As he was sitting at Tim Horton’s having his coffee, a little girl who was at the coffee shop with her mother approached closer and said hi to him. Luc was delighted by the gesture and said hello back.

He though the little girl was raised the right way and believed her mother would be happy that her daughter is polite and kind. But he was very wrong.

The mother got really upset with the girl speaking to Luc, so she forcefully grabbed her and pulled her away. On the way out, the rude mother could be heard referring to Luc as a “dirty biker.”

At that moment, Luc felt really bad. He got offended and believed the mother was doing the wrong thing teaching the little girl to judge people like that.

He continued drinking his coffee, but that woman’s words haunted him throughout the day so he decided to take it to Facebook and write a word or two about how she made him feel.

“To the family in the red SUV at Tim Horton’s today,

Yes I am a big 280 lbs guy with motorcycles and full of tattoos. I am a welder, I am loud, I drink beer, I swear and I look like I would eat your soul if you stare at me wrong.

“What you don’t know is that I have been happily married for 11 years, my kids call me daddy, I am a college graduate… My mother is proud of me and tells everyone how lucky she is to have such a wonderful son, my nieces and nephews are always happy to see there m’noncl Luc…When my daughter broke her arm, I cried more than she did. I read books, I help people, I go out of my way to thank war veterans and I even cried at Armageddon.

So next time I smile and say hi to your little girl and you grab her and tell her, ‘No no dear, we don’t talk to dirty bikers’… Remember that even tho you hurt my feelings, this ‘dirty biker’ would be the first person to run into your burning house to save your little girls goldfish so she wouldn’t be sad! – L.P.”

Those who know how kind Luc really is shared his post. In a matter of days, his touching words had gone viral and many say how what he had to say is a lesson we should all learn.

Men save dog from icy river – then realize it’s not dog at all

A remarkable story comes from Estonia. Three brave Estonians, named Rando Kartsepp, Robin Sillamäe and Erki Väli, ended up acting as a rescue team, not to a human being, but to an innocent animal in danger. These brave men got appreciation for rescuing of what they believed was a dog trapped in an icy winter water.

The harsh North European winters can be equally risky for, both, people and animals. However, no matter what the weather conditions were, these three men were working on a dam on the Parnu River in central Estonia. Unexpectedly, while doing their daily job routines, their eyes were caught by an unusual sight. A dog stuck into the icy water of the river! Rando, Robin and Erki immediately jumped into action in order to help the creature, but they were further surprised by this rare accident.

These men’s dedication on saving the animal’s life paid off. They successfully managed to pull the animal out of the freezing water. The winter did its thing and the animal was already starting to stiffen. This alerted the men and they took the animal to the local vet’s.

The unusual situation even further shocked these workers. They did not rescue a dog, but a young wild wolf! The doctor explained the men that the animal they rescued was not a dog as they previously thought, but a wolf, which they look alike, of course. That confusion is quite common since these animals are nearly identical.

Nevertheless, the vet’s team warmed the wolf’s body, they normalized its health conditions and it was being prepared to be released in the wild. In addition, they put a GPS collar on the wolf’s neck so they can track its movements.

Rando, Robin and Erki were quite happy and glad to rescue the animal. They gave everything they could in order to save the wolf’s life. Their humane side prevailed and they did not hesitate risking their own lives in order to save another one.

Freezing winters are not hospitable for staying outdoors unprotected. Imagine yourself in such conditions, being trapped in cold water? That must be painful and agonising! Luckily, there are people on this planet who will do anything just to help you and provide additional support. We are grateful for their courage and determination.

Car of fallen officer covered in flowers but a single note on plain white paper leaves it’s mark

Losing someone who had been by your side through tick and thin is the hardest thing ever. You don’t only lose a loved one, but you also lose the feeling of safety and security.

Officer Charles Irvine Jr. was only 23 when he died in a car accident while on duty. During his life, he impacted a great number of people and now the entire community gathered to show him respect. The city of Milwaukee constructed a memorial in his honor and his car was all covered in flowers.

One 12-year-old boy named Avant Turner was passing by the memorial and decided to stop. As he was looking at the decorated vehicle, he noticed the photo of the officer and realized he knew him very well. In fact, Officer Charles helped Avanti a lot. It was then that the young boy felt the urge to honor his late friend the best he could. He took out a pen and poured his deepest emotions on a piece of paper.

Avanti first met the late officer when his brother got arrested. Ever since, the boy would often stop off at the precinct before school. He and officer Charles talked about life and school, and Charles helped Avanti with his homework.

Speaking to WISN 12 News, Avant admitted, “He the only person I could tell my secrets to… I can only tell him, cause he the only one who understands.”

Avanti’s mom also knew just how much Officer Charles meant to her son. “There’s a lot of stuff going on again with officers, where the community is not trusting the officers, but some of them, you can find a lot of trust in. You’ve got to find those ones, and Officer Irvine was the one,” she said.

Rest in peace, Officer Charles Irvine Jr.

Teacher is alarmed when she spots scared boy furiously pedaling bike on highway

Those who have been around young minds they need to shape and prepare for the future know that teaching isn’t just about making students gather knowledge in certain subjects but more about being there for the kids, teach them about life, and never stop believing in their abilities of becoming great people and valuable members of the community.

One very special teacher proved once again that every student who has been part of her classroom will always be her kid. One day, as she was driving on the open highway, Keller Sutherland noticed a former student of hers pedaling on his bike. It was obvious the boy was in a hurry, which made her think he might be in trouble.

Cameron’s father is a diabetic who very often suffers episodes that leave him in a very bad shape. That day was one of those when he felt really bad and the only person around was the seven-year-old boy. He knew he had to act quickly so he rushed to the neighbors’ house for help, but they weren’t home. Cameron then thought of calling 911 using his dad’s phone but it required a passcode.

The only thing he could think of was reaching to his grandma, who unfortunately lived five miles away. The boy didn’t hesitate a bit, so he quickly got on his bike and started riding as fast as he could. He didn’t consider the dangers of being on the open rode as the only thing on his mind was his father’s well-being.

When Cameron’s teacher saw the boy, she got worried that something could happen to him so she turned her car around and reached for her former student. When she asked him why he was in a rush, the boy explained how he had to get help for his diabetic father. Keller, the Ellen Woodside Elementary School teacher, later told Greenville News: “He was the bravest little boy I have ever seen.”

While the two were staying there on the road, two truckers pulled over and called 911. When the first-responders arrived, the teacher led them to Cameron’s house. They arrived just in time, because Cameron’s father’s condition was bad as he was laying in the bathroom unconscious.

This brave boy saved his father’s life. So young and already a hero. The incident triggered many questions of how to make it easier and available for young kids to be able to make emergency calls when facing similar situations. The principal at Ellen Woodside Elementary School organized a seminar to teach the students how to use different types of phones to call 911.

Cameron’s mother thanked everyone who helped and said how her son knew everything was going to turn just fine once he saw his teacher, Mrs. Keller Sutherland.

It’s amazing how teachers go above and beyond for their students. The bond that is created during lesson time and the trust kids have in their teachers last for a lifetime.
