This ‘129 Ways to Get a Husband’ Article From 1958 Shows How Much The World Has Changed

It’s been twenty years since the first episode of the iconic movie “Sex and The City” aired, but the issues it discussed throughout the years, such as sexuality, promiscuity, and the never ending dilemma of how to find the perfect match are still tackling women from all around the world.

However, things change over time, and the definition of a healthy relationship today might be quite different compared to the past. While back then the role and the position of many women was underrated and the man was the boss of the house, it’s pretty different nowadays.

But one thing that didn’t change are the TV programs and the magazines that always find a way to attract women’s attention by listing various tricks of how to catch the man of their dreams. One woman came across an interesting copy of a 1958 McCall’s magazine. In that magazine, an article entitled ‘129 ways to get a husband’ caught her eye. She decided to share it, and it is every bit as good as you would expect.

So if you ever wondered, this is how the 1950s advised women to seduce the opposite sex. Interesting indeed! Take a look and tell us if you’d try any of these tricks.

Police Officer Learns The Hard Way NOT To Mess With Senior Citizens

This hilarious story will teach you not to mess with older people because they possess all the knowledge and experience of the world and may easily teach you a lesson. The witty comeback this old lady has for the officer who pulled her over is the best thing you’ll read all day.

An older lady gets pulled over for speeding…

Older Woman: Is there a problem, Officer?

Officer: Ma’am, you were speeding.

Older Woman: Oh, I see.

Officer: Can I see your license please?

Older Woman: I’d give it to you but I don’t have one.

Officer: Don’t have one?

Older Woman: Lost it, 4 years ago for drunk driving.

Officer: I see….Can I see your vehicle registration papers please.

Older Woman: I can’t do that. Officer: Why not.

Older Woman: I stole this car.

Officer: Stole it?

Older Woman: Yes, and I killed and hacked up the owner.

Officer: You what?

Older Woman: His body parts are in plastic bags in the trunk if you want to see.

The Officer looks at the woman and slowly backs away to his car and calls for back up. Within minutes 5 police cars circle the car. A senior officer slowly approaches the car, clasping his half drawn gun.

Officer 2: Ma’am, could you step out of your vehicle please!

The woman steps out of her vehicle.

Older woman: Is there a problem sir?

Officer 2: One of my officers told me that you have stolen this car and murdered the owner.

Older Woman: Murdered the owner?

Officer 2: Yes, could you open the trunk of your car, please.

The woman opens the trunk, revealing nothing but an empty trunk.

Officer 2: Is this your car, ma’am?

Older Woman: Yes, here are the registration papers. The officer is quite stunned.

Officer 2: One of my officers claims that you do not have a driving license.

The woman digs into her handbag and pulls out a clutch purse and hands it to the officer. The officer examines the license. He looks quite puzzled.

Officer 2: Thank you ma’am, one of my officers told me you didn’t have a license, that you stole this car, and that you murdered and hacked up the owner.

Older Woman: Bet the liar told you I was speeding, too.

Moral: Don’t mess with little old ladies!

Stevie Wonder And Son Perform On Dancing With The Stars

Image by SeriesClips via YouTube video

When beloved singer Stevie Wonder took to the stage for Dancing With The Stars: Juniors last week, the audience erupted with applause. But Stevie wasn’t the only person they were clapping for!

This time, they gave it up for his dashing 13-year-old son Mandla Morris and his dancing partner Brightyn Brems. These two amazing teenagers lit up the audience.

His dad is famous, and now it looks like Mandla Morris, the son of singer Stevie Wonder is also on his way! Screenshot by Dancing With The Stars via YouTube video

Dad Stevie Wonder Provided Backup

The legendary singer performed “Isn’t She Lovely,” and it was definitely one of the highlights of this couple’s amazing performance. Working expertly and precisely, the two teens danced the foxtrot with absolutely no missteps. One wonders how long it took them to master this. They made it look so effortless.

Image by SeriesClips via YouTube video

The judges were also impressed, fully understanding the pressure of performing next to a beloved and revered performer like Stevie Wonder. Especially of course, when he just happens to be your dad.

“Well first it is so incredible to have the amazing Stevie Wonder performing tonight, I know if I had to do a performance with my dad on Dancing With The Stars it would not have looked like that,” said Adam Rippon, one of the judges. “You were so good, this is probably one of your best dances.”

Val Chermovskiy agreed, calling the performance “incredible” and even dad Stevie Wonder, blind since birth, couldn’t resist joking:

“It looked good to me!”

But the one judge that young Mandla and Brightyn really hoped to impress is singer and choreographer Mandy Moore. And the singer didn’t disappoint. She had high praise for the talented teens:

“I was watching a beautiful couple twirling around the dance floor, you will remember this moment forever.”

Image by SeriesClips via YouTube video

The song itself also went over with the audience in a huge way, with the audience cheering and clapping throughout the performance. Stevie Wonder wrote the song in the mid-1970s to celebrate the birth of his daughter, Aisha. What’s really fun here is that she joined everyone on stage to congratulate the two teens on their performance.

But what really capped the whole thing off?

That father-son hug near the end of the clip. Stevie is clearly proud of his son.

“He made a great choice, I am very happy he did and very thankful,” Wonder said.

The judges rewarded them with a score of 27 out of 30 and Twitter users were also impressed.

There’s still a few more weeks until the winners are chosen, but we’re betting Mandla and Brightyn will be in among the top contenders!

You can watch their dazzling performance in the video below.

Boy Worried His Autism Would Put Him On The “Naughty” List

Christmas is all about family, love, tradition, and finding yourself. Offering words of support and kindness to those whose self-esteem is a bit down because of various reasons, will help lift the person’s spirit during the most wonderful time of the year. Because, at the end of the day, everyone deserves a perfect holiday spent with those that matter.

Six-year-old Lindon was looking forward to the holiday, but it seemed there was something that bothered this young boy. Luckily, the good old Santa Claus was there to make things right and revive the faith in the magic of Christmas.

When he and his family went to RiverTown Crossings mall in Michigan, Landon couldn’t wait to get closer to the Big Man and ask him an important question.

Facebook/Naomi Johnson

The boy had a secret he didn’t want to share with anyone except for Santa whom he trusts. As he was coming closer, he started shaking. Nervously, he asked:

“Will my autism put me on the naughty list?”

The poor boy though his condition could be a reason he’s not getting a present from Santa.

Screenshot via YouTube

Without hesitation, Santa responded with an amazing answer, WOOD-TV reported.

“You know I love you and the reindeer love you and it’s OK. You’re a good boy. You’re a good boy, you know?”

Landon felt relieved and happy as he heard exactly what he needed to hear. His nervousness and anxiety faded away as Santa assured him that he was a great boy he would visit on the night of Christmas. The way Santa put it into words made Landon’s mom Naomi shed tears of joy. The Big Man told the little boy that he wasn’t neither better nor worse than others because of his mental state. With only five words Santa made everything right again: “It’s OK to be you!”

Screenshot via YouTube

Santa was there to provide an insecure young boy with kind words that made him believe in himself again. The two spent five more minutes chatting and Santa was more than happy to answer all of Landon’s questions.

Screenshot via YouTube

Naomi was thrilled that her son was able to absorb Santa’s lesson.

“Here was Landon, sitting with Santa and being told that it was ok to be himself. Mommy tells him all the time that he’s special and I love him the way he was made, but it’s always nice to hear it from others.”

The reassurance from such an important person warmed their hearts and gave Landon the boost of confidence he was searching for.

Screenshot via YouTube

Santa’s kind deed put him onto a different, more special kind of list.

“We have met a lot of amazing people in our Autism journey, but this one made the top of the list.”

The old man was compassionate and said the right words at the right time. That day, he changed a little boy’s life completely, by making him accept himself the way he was.

Once you see the whole story it will leave you in tears, so you better grab a box of tissues while watching.

80-Year-Old Destitute Woman Curled up Days on Street Until Traffic Cop Steps In

There are times in life when we feel like our world turns upside down and there is no way out of the desperate situation we found ourselves in. But, many times, in cases like this, certain people cross our path and enter our life only to remind us that we are not fighting our battles alone, and things aren’t always as bad as they seem.

An Indian traffic police officer is a living proof of this. He entered this old lady’s life and gave her a helping hand in the toughest of times. The 80-year-old woman named Buchamma was found curled up by a Hyderabad roadside nearby the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU). She had apparently spent the last three days there, and no one, except for Mr. B.Gopal, cared enough to offer her at least a glass of water.

“The elderly woman who was seated near JNTUH crossroads reminded me of my mother,”

recalled Gopal, reports the New Indian Express.

“I could not stop myself from helping her.”

The kindhearted man felt he could at least buy her a meal.

“I offered her a cup of tea and then bought lunch for her,” says Gopal, reports The Hindu. “But she was unable to even eat with her own hands, so I fed her.”

A passerby who witnessed the lovely sight twitted the officer’s kind act and it vent viral for all the right reasons.

“This is called change, not only friendly police, also called social responsibility,” tweeted one man.

“Humanity can be clearly seen in this Gentleman,” wrote another. “Hats off B.Gopal.”

One person commented:

“It’s people like you who enhance our lives, who make the world a wonderful place, who inspire us to put others first, who help us to overlook the evil. Thank you.”

This lady’s life was pretty difficult, and her faith is sad, because she ended up on the streets and then thanks to Mr. B. Gopal she was moved to Anand Ashram, a shelter for the homeless. Besides having nine children, none of them provided for their mother.

Buchamma will have a roof over her head, and regular meals, away from her family.

What the officer did not only changed Buchamma’s life, but it restored our faith in humanity. He is everything a person should be, kind, caring, and compassionate. We hope more people will follow his example and will help someone in need.

Woman’s Mistake Brings A Stranger To Her Home

Katie Egger Markis from Washington D.C was awoken by the sound of her smartphone. An alert from the home security provider told her something unusual was taking place at her front porch. As she was about to head to her teaching workout class, she got up from bed and approached the cameras that were showing a stranger standing at her front door. She has never seen that man before in her life so she sort of freaked out and got suspicious.

Facebook/Katie Egger Makris

Her first thought was that he could be a delivery guy, but it was still dark outside and way too early for someone to be at their job at that time. At that point, Katie really had no idea who that man could be and why he was pacing back and forth her porch. She later posted on Facebook saying:

“Typically, posted videos from Ring cameras are about package thefts, break ins, people juggling car doors on the street to see what’s open…and our neighborhood list serve is always littered with these this time of year.”

YouTube

However, it turned out the man wasn’t there for any of the reasons that went through Katie’s mind. It was visible from the camera footage that he intended to leave something for the family, but was walking around to find just the perfect place.

Once Katie saw him wandering off she couldn’t wait to see what he dropped off. She called her husband and asked him to check. To Katie’s surprise, what the stranger placed under the doormat was her wallet.

She must have lost it the previous day during her morning jog. The kind stranger did an amazing thing. He probably learned Katie’s address from her ID card and decided to get it back to her, without asking anything in return.

YouTube

Katie shared the whole story on Facebook:

“This guy was nice enough to stop his van, clearly checked the address on the ID and returned it under our mat. Anyone who lives in DC knows this is pretty much unheard of – you drop a wallet, you lose a wallet, and you usually lose everything in your accounts if you’re not quick, too. Counting my blessings today- I’m damn lucky. Random Dallas fan in the plaid with the white van: thank you. You’re what’s right in the world.”

We sometimes make assumptions beforehand and later realize how wrong we may end up being, as in this case. Katie is beyond grateful for this man’s act.

Take a look at the video below.

This Little Girl Tried To Explain Child Birth To Her Class. This Is Priceless.

Children are the most honest creatures who don’t really care whether you like what they have to say or not. They always speak their mind and that’s one of the reasons we love them so much. Now imagine how teachers may feel like, surrounded by a bunch of smarty pants who are eager to share everything they’ve seen and heard with the whole class. Students definitely tell stories worth sharing, pretty much like the one below.

It’s old, but gold! A must read that will make you burst out laughing.

I’ve been teaching now for about fifteen years. I have two kids myself, but the best birth story I know is the one I saw in my own second-grade classroom a few years back.

Usually, show-and-tell is pretty tame. Kids bring in pet turtles, model airplanes, pictures of fish they catch, stuff like that. And I never, ever place any boundaries or limitations on them. If they want to lug it to school and talk about it, they’re welcome.

Well, one day this little girl, Erica, a very bright, very outgoing kid, takes her turn and waddles up to the front of the class with a pillow stuffed under her sweater. She holds up a snapshot of an infant.

“This is Luke, my baby brother, and I’m going to tell you about his birthday. First, Mommy and Daddy made him as a symbol of their love, and then Daddy put a seed in my mother’s stomach, and Luke grew in there.

He ate for 9 months through an umbrella cord.”

She’s standing there with her hands on the pillow, and I’m trying not to laugh and wishing I had a video camera rolling. The kids are watching her in amazement.

“Then, about two Saturdays ago, my mother starts going, ‘Oh, oh, oh!”

Erica puts a hand behind her back and groans.

“She walked around the house for, like an hour, “Oh, oh, oh!”

Now this kid is doing this hysterical duck-walk, holding her back and groaning.

“My father called the middle wife. She delivers babies, but she doesn’t have a sign on the car like the Domino’s man.

They got my mother to lay down in bed like this.”

Erica lies down with her back against the wall.

“And then, pop! My mother had this bag of water she kept in there in case he got thirsty, and it just blew up and spilled all over the bed, like psshhheew!”

The kid has her legs spread and with her little hands is miming water flowing away. It was too much!

“Then the middle wife starts going push, push, and breathe, breathe. They start counting, but they never even got past 10. Then, all of a sudden, out comes my brother. He was covered in yucky stuff they said was from the play-center, so there must be a lot of stuff inside there.”

Then Erica stood up, took a big theatrical bow and returned to her seat. I’m sure I applauded the loudest. Ever since then, if it’s show-and-tell day, I bring my camcorder – just in case another Erica comes along.

The best obituary ever written in a newspaper. This is spot on.

It seems that nowadays common sense is not that common. People get offended easily, and most of them lost the ability to perceive things in a rational manner. Someone who realized this posted the best obituary ever written in the New York Times.

Read it below:

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

– Knowing when to come in out of the rain;

– Why the early bird gets the worm;

– Life isn’t always fair;

– And maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death,

-by his parents, Truth and Trust,

-by his wife, Discretion,

-by his daughter, Responsibility,

-and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 5 stepbrothers;

– I Know My Rights

– I Want It Now

– Someone Else Is To Blame

– I’m A Victim

– Pay me for Doing Nothing

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Share this with your friends, in loving memory of Common Sense!

Most people see a black crow in this picture – but can you find what’s really there?

Every once in a while we come across optical illusions that have the power to play tricks with our brain. We see things that are not there, and sometimes even miss the obvious. Illusions definitely confuse us and blow our mind, but are fascinating and interactive at the same time. Sometimes they go viral and spark debate among the Internet users. You may well remember the famous dress. What was its color? Was it white and gold,or black and blue? I guess we’ll never know the answer.

The recent illusion that caught our attention was posted on Reddit, by the user Robert Maguire, and later started trending on Twitter. It’s a picture of a crow- or at least that’s what most users say.

However, if you pay closer attention you may end up seeing a quite different animal.

Robert Maguire writes:

This picture of a crow is interesting because…
— Robert Maguire (@RobertMaguire_) October 28, 2018

At first glance it looks like a black crow facing to the right but in reality, it is a black cat that is turning its back neck and looking into the camera.

Did you see it? And yes, another fun thing about illusions is that once you figure them out, you can’t unsee it!

Here is another one? Can you count the elephant’s legs?

You may hear answers such as 5 or 6, while others believe there are only four.

So what do you think?

Both these illusions fooled me! Now share them with your friends and pass on the challenge.

Confirmed by Scientists: Babysitting your grandchildren improves your life expectancy!

People tend to do things they believe will provide them with a happier and a healthier life, like having long walks, avoiding fast food and opting for healthier choices such as fruits and vegetables, quitting smoking, exercising, and a lot more. However, the secret behind extended life expectancy seems to be found in taking care and babysitting the grandchildren. Yes, you’ve heard that right. If you believed that young kids have the power to make you feel younger when you are around them, then you are not far from the truth.

When they get to bond with the grandchildren, the elderly are calmer and less depressed. The sad reality is that over the years people lose their friends, and sometimes the only companion remaining is the TV, so getting the chance of spending time with their children’s offspring is really refreshing and rewarding, as well as life changing.

This has been confirmed by the science as well. A group of researchers conducted a study involving 500 participants who were over 70 years old. The results imply that those who didn’t babysit their grandkids frequently were at greater risk of death than those who did.

According to Dr Ronan Factora

“there is a link between taking care of someone and reducing our overall stress levels.”

Doctors advise older people to stay physically active as much as possible, and is there anything better than running around the young rascals?

Physical and cognitive stimulation are critical in keeping the body healthy, and taking care of those you love the most is a perfect balance between exercising and having the time of your life, surrounded with smiles, hugs, and kisses.

So, if you are a grandparent, don’t hesitate a bit, and offer to babysit right away. I know I can’t wait for my kids to have children.

The relationship between grandparents and grandchildren is significant and pure, and it should be encouraged for the benefit of both.

Doctor Asks Terminally Ill Children What Truly Matters In Life. Their Answers Are Incredibly Wise.

We often take things life has to offer for granted. How is it that we are only grateful for what we have once we lose it? Many people don’t really understand how lucky they are for simply being healthy, having roof over their head and food on their table.

Life is sometimes cruel and when we hear of stories of people who lost it all, we do realize how fortunate we are and what are the real treasures in life, and that’s the well-being of the people we love.

Dr. Alastair McAlpine knows how to cherish the good things because he often witnesses devastating destinies and sees kids losing the battles with their illnesses. This man decided to share with the rest of the world the wisdom he learns from his terminally ill patients. These children are between four and nine years old and tell us what they believe makes life worth. You may get surprised how much shrewdness is hidden behind their words.

Dr. McAlpine is a palliative care physician in Cape Town, S. Africa, who eases the pain of kids who are dying.

Twitter

When he asked them what truly matters in life and what doesn’t, he hoped many people would hear what his patients had to say, but he didn’t think their words of wisdom would spread among people like a wildfire.

1. No one wishes they spend more time online.

2. Animals make human lives better.

3. They love their parents.

4. Ice cream, duh.

5. Reading makes a big difference.

6. Worrying is a waste of time.

7. Everybody loves the beach!

8. Kindness matters.

9. Laughter is the best medicine.

10. Children love their toys.

11. Family time is the best time.

Dr. McAlpine wrapped up his thread with one last important recap:

The way these children perceive life is what we all should live by. They remind us of the importance of the “little things” and how the essence of our existence is to love and be loved.

Please share their wise words with those you love!

Mom who fought cancer while pregnant with twins receives life-saving transplant

It was a miracle.

Susie Rabaca from Southern California has quite a story to tell. This brave woman learned that she had cancer while she was carrying twins. In order for her life to be saved, as well as that of her unborn babies, she was forced to undergo a bone marrow transplant. Things didn’t seem easy because the first thing that was needed to be done was to find a perfect match donor. Luckily, some good news were on the way not long after the devastating diagnosis.

The mom-to-be had issued a personal plea for people willing to register for a match – her own sister was deemed unsuitable with a 50% match.

Susie, who was already a mom of three, was overwhelmed by the number of people who signed up to be potential donors. As she is both Latino and Caucasian, she wasn’t sure if she’d be able to find the perfect match as that proved to be difficult in the past for people of her heritage.

Incredibly and to the surprise of many, just a couple of days after Susie’s plea went viral, at least 40,000 people had registered as potential donors on the ‘Be The Match’ registry. Julie Kornike, who was the founder of ‘Be The Match’, stated: “Only 3 percent of our registry is mixed ethnicity, and so it can really difficult to find a matching donor. The fact that we have identified a potential match for her is really exciting.”

Susie will be undergoing a transplant before giving birth. “For me to find one and for it to be 10 out of 10 at that, is amazing. Nothing better in the world right now. Whoever you are out there – thank you so much. You’re saving my life. You’re an angel, and I hope one day to meet you.” Susie remarked with tears in her eyes.

This is one of those doctor’s visits one never forgets – Hilarious

Gynecologist appointments aren’t always that comfortable and it does take a little bit of extra effort in order to look more ‘presentable’. This woman, however, went a step further without even realizing it, so it turned into one of the weirdest doctor’s visits ever. We doubt she will ever visit him again.

I was due for an appointment with the gynecologist later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctors office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45am.

The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn’t have any time to spare. As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasnt going to be able to make the full effort.

So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pajamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in that area to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.

I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I’m sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away.

I was a little surprised when the doctor said, My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven’t we? I didn’t respond.

After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal… Some shopping, cleaning, and cooking. After school when my 6 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, Mommy, wheres my washcloth?

I told her to get another one from the cupboard.

She replied, No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it.

Never going back to that doctor again…Never.

Boy’s Southern Shopping List Is Melting Hearts Across The Country

Young kids can be hilarious. They are quite honest and always speak their mind, and very often say words they are not really allowed to, which makes them even more interesting and lovable.

One mother shared a video of her lovely son doing the grocery list and he somehow became one of the loveliest children we’ve ever seen on the Internet. His mother assigned him a very serious task and he simply makes sure he won’t miss any of the items they need to pick up from the store by carefully repeating them one by one.

Facebook/Chrystal Logsdon

It’s obvious he is pretty excited to be accompanying his mommy that he quickly grabs a pen and a pad of paper and starts listing the items.

However, what makes Chrystal’s youngest son so unique is his sweet Southern accent. Each word is filled to the brim with a down-home country twang!

The video mommy uploaded on her Facebook page vent viral and has been seen by more than eleven million people, all of which are stunned by the way he pronounces the words.

Facebook/Chrystal Logsdon

Although everyone agrees how he does it in the most adorable way possible, many wonder how can a boy that young have such a strong Southern accent.

According to scientists, that’s not an unusual phenomenon because accent starts developing at kids as young as six months.

The Smithsonian publication explains this, stating:

“As early as 6 months, [a baby] begins to differentiate one bit of verbal input from another, mentally reviewing and silently rehearsing for the moment when the vocal cords are ready to deliver. And when the words do tumble out, they will be reproduced with the distinctive, localized twang or lilt overheard in Mommy’s and Daddy’s (or Mama’s and Papa’s) own funny speech.

Accents, in whatever language, stubbornly hang in there for years, decades, a lifetime, without being easily rubbed out.”

So whenever a baby hears a word, it is stored into their brain along with the sound or the way it is pronounced. Children can have a bit of accent even when they say their first ever words.

This vocal imprinting is definitely what happened with Chrystal’s adorable little one. It looks as if he and his parents are pretty proud of the way he speaks.

Millions Love Traffic Reporter’s Version Of Disney Song

Winter is our favorite season because of all the joy the snow brings. However, if you are driving around during heavy snowfall and harsh winter weather, you may unfortunately end up stuck on the road or even involved in an accident. That is why it would be for the best to avoid being on the road when the weather conditions are not favorable. One traffic reporter decided to warn his viewers of the possible consequences of driving in bad weather in the most unique way.

YouTube

Bob Herzog is a reporter who wants to make sure his fellow Cincinnati residents stay safe and sound. He is well known among them for his great personality and unusual way of presenting the news. Everyone is so fond of him that people started calling him “The Traffic Man.” This time he chose to pass a warning by singing a parody of the Frozen’s song “Let it Go,” hilariously turning it into “Just Don’t go.” The end result is simply hysterical.

YouTube

He starts by singing the following lyrics:

“The snow blows right on the roads over night, not a lane strike to be seen. A town with no transportation – and the info comes from me. Highways are crawling like some slow ants in a line. They won’t all stay in, heaven knows I try…. They can’t stay in, so they must see. Be the traffic man you have to be. The wheels they squeal, spinning the snow. And now they know… Just don’t go!”

Bob really knows how to entertain his viewers which makes him their favorite presenter.

What do you think of this lovely idea? Did you like his singing? Share your thoughts with us.

Triplet Baby Boys Create A Game Mom Will Never Forget

We are sure the parents of the most adorable and most competitive triplets from the video below are never bored around their lovely children.

Not only they make mommy and daddy laugh, but the whole nation as well. The video of their epic race has been seen over 20 million times and people never get tired of watching it over and over again.

Mommy places their bottles of milk on the floor, and she is patiently waiting for them to start crawling towards their meal.

Although they may not be that interested in having the milk, each of them is eager to make it to the finish line before their siblings.

The adorable babies turned their feeding time into an epic game that took the hearts of everyone who witnessed their competition. They are way too young to set the rules of what is acceptable and what’s not, but they still understand what the game is all about and it’s beyond adorable.

Mom Upcycles Baby Wipes Container for Childproofing Hack That’s Gone Viral

AOL

Having a kid is a blessing from God. Nothing compares to those adorable smiles that you get every day, along with the laughter and the joy these lovely creatures bring into the home. However, taking care of them requires lots of money. Buying baby clothes and shoes they quickly outgrow, baby wipes, and diapers can be very expensive. And although we only want the best for our little ones, we sometimes can’t afford to buy everything at once.

What’s most, making sure they are safe is another thing we spend a bunch of money on. Babies and toddlers are curious and want to explore their surroundings. They learn by touching in the first year of their life so they make sure they put their little fingers on every item they set their eyes on. That includes the outlets which can be quite dangerous for kids to play with. The openings of the outlets are a perfect size for the little fingers to fit, which makes them interesting and entertaining, so parents have to make sure to cover them properly.

oksun70 via Deposit Photos

A mother named Brittany Kurtz found just the perfect way of how to keep her kids away from the appealing outlets by using something she already has a lot of, and that’s empty boxes of diapers and tissues. If you are creative enough you can make lots of interesting DIY projects using the containers and the cardboard paper instead of recycling it.

Kurtz shows us one way of using them in her video she recently posted on her Facebook page. She says:

“Remove the adhesive top from the baby wipes package, then place over outlets. I certainly still will keep my baby safe outlet covers in, but this is just another precaution for on top. Out of site, out of mind.”

Many mothers think this idea is brilliant, while others say that toddlers are way too smart for this hack, and they will know they can easily open the lid and get to the outlet.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you give it a try?

If you have another idea of how the wipe containers or diaper boxes can be used please share it with us in the comments section below.

How to Never Pay for Canceling an Appointment

Flickr

Has it ever happened to you to be forced to cancel your doctor’s appointment in the last minute? I guess most of you will answer with a yes. This is not that uncommon because we live in a world where everyone has a tight schedule trying to fit all the things that should be taken care of in only 24 hours. So things such as family and other emergencies come up and we are left with the cancellation fee we have to pay for not making it to the appointment.

Flickr

Paying this fee is frustrating for many, and although we are well aware that it’s there because doctors believe it will reduce the number of cancellations and sometimes because of the preparations the doctors make ahead of the appointment, we still don’t really want to give our money away.

A Reddit user found the ultimate way of skipping this fee and now people are praising him for this brilliant idea.

It all started when Redditor Sh0tgunLlama asked this simple but brilliant question:

BoredPanda

User Stellapotamus shared his story of cancelling a doctor’s appointment in the last minute without paying a single cent. This is how it goes:

“I went to cancel a doctor’s appointment and they said it was a $200 charge without a week’s notice. I asked how much it was to reschedule and she said it was free.

‘Okay, so I need to reschedule for two weeks out.’

‘Is three weeks okay?”

‘Yep.’

‘Alright, you’re all set for three weeks from now. Is there anything else I can do for you?’

‘Yes, I need to cancel my appointment.’

‘We need a week’s notice.’

‘My appointment is three weeks away.’

‘Oh. Okay. Sure.’

‘Thank you.’

Couldn’t believe it worked.”

Everyone was so thrilled by this that the post quickly went viral with over 21K upvotes.

Fellow Redditors praised Stellapotamus saying things like:

Do you think this way of skipping the fee is genius or sneaky? Have you ever done anything similar to get yourself off the hook?

Breastfeeding Mom Sues Texas RoadHouse After Manager Tries to Cover Her With Napkin

Sadie Durbin

The “issue” of whether or not it is appropriate or acceptable to breastfeed your baby in public sparks debate whenever it’s brought up.

Knowing how expensive formula feeding can be, many mothers opt breastfeeding over bottle feeding. What’s most, it is scientifically proven that mother’s milk is the healthiest choice because it contains high level and perfect balance of nutrients, it’s easily digested and absorbed, the baby itself determines the amount it consumes, contains Immunoglobulins which provides passive immunity for baby. Actually, the benefits are endless.

We should all understand the simple fact that when the baby is hungry, it doesn’t know and doesn’t care whether the mom is outside or at home. They only want their food, and that’s it. I guess the real shame here are not the moms who choose to breastfeed their babies in public, but the fact that there aren’t enough accommodations for them to be able to do so.

Despite all this, there are still people out there who are outraged by the scene of a mother and her baby bonding through breastfeeding and ask them to cover themselves while doing so.

This was the case with a Kentucky mother Sadie Durbin who was having dinner at the Texas Roadhouse with her husband and her 7-month-old baby. She explains what happened, saying:

“She got hungry, so she needed to nurse. I latched her on like I always do, and she was nursing for maybe five minutes when I saw the manager coming around the corner, walking fast and shaking his head at me with a napkin in his hands.”

Sadie Durbin

The manager, who is a father of six children, told Sadie how many of his customers complained about her breastfeeding her baby without a cover, so he dared to approach this mother and put a napkin on the baby’s face. Sadie refused to cover her baby with that napkin so the manager just put it on the table and left angrily.

Sadie says how despite using a cover, she breastfed her baby very discretely, without offending anyone.

“There were two giant peanut buckets in front of me, she was wrapped up in a blanket and I had her in a cross-cradle position, as discrete as I can be. I find it really difficult, pretty much impossible, to cover. I have to hold my breast, I have to hold the [nipple] shield, and I have to hold her head perfectly in order to nurse her. She unlatches as soon as I try to put a cover over her.”

Mike Mozart

Sadie could notice one woman talking to the manager, so she asked the waitress whether she was the one who found her breastfeeding offensive, but instead of an answer, the manager came and once again asked her to cover up. Sadie refused and she and her husband left the place.

She decided to share the incident on her Facebook page, not assuming it will gather so much attention. And while many people supported her for what she did, others posted negative comments, and even threats.

Durbin has decided to sue Texas Roadhouse because she says,

“There’s a law, but there’s no penalty attached to the law.”

She does this mainly for the other moms out there who can find themselves in similar situations. She says,

“I think that if I can avoid one mom feeling like I felt in that situation, then yes, I am happy I spoke out.”

Do you think the manager’s reaction was justified, or you support Sadie’s decision?

If You Were Spanked as a Kid, This Is What Happened to Your Personality

For years, and for many generations of parents, spanking was the right thing to do in order to have disciplined and well behaved children. Even nowadays, many believe how this type of corporal punishment helps them teach their kids manners and use it even up to several times a month. Many parents settle on this discipline method simply because that’s how they were raised and somehow feel they should follow in their parents’ footsteps.

But, it turns out spanking is wrong on so many levels and does more damage than good, putting the kids at higher risk of inappropriate and violent behavior later in life.

According to the renowned researchers from the University of Texas at Austin and University of Michigan, the belief that spanking results with negative psychological effect on a child has been confirmed. This effect doesn’t fade away even years after it has been administered. The sad reality is that many moms and dads out there believe this to be effective and never think of the consequences it leaves on their kids.

Recently, an in depth study on this issue has been done and the results of the findings were published in the Journal of Family Psychology. The case study included approximately 160,000 children over a 50-year span. The authors of the study, Elizabeth Gershoff and Andrew Grogan Kaylor presented the outcome which said that now, as adults, the group of people that were spanked when they were young were more likely to exhibit anti-social behavior and suffer from health problems.

Actually, they believe that this form of disciplinary tactic has similar consequences as those at children who were victims of abuse.

“We as a society think of spanking and physical abuse as distinct behaviors. Yet our research shows that spanking is linked with the same negative child outcomes as abuse, just to a slightly lesser degree.”

Joan Durrant, a professor in the department of community health sciences at the University of Manitoba who has studied the effects of spanking for 30 years argues that “Children who are spanked are at greater risk of bullying others and using aggression as a way of solving problems and conflicts.” Parents are unaware that even if that helps teach their kids to behave for a short period of time, it will create in them aggression that lasts a lifetime.

According to another study of 2016 published in Zero to Three, in which parents who use this type of punishment were involved, 30% of them said how they feel bad for spanking their kids, and 77% believe it’s not an effective method of discipline.

This raises the question of why do people still do it when everything and everyone reasonable suggests it’s not the right thing to do.

Many parents would argue how they still do it because it helps them deal with their children without considering other types of punishment that are effective in a long term, such as taking away the kid’s privileges, rewarding their good behavior, have long talks, and allow for natural consequences.

Whether you are for or against spanking your children, you may hear parents say, “well, my parents spanked me and I turned out just fine, so why wouldn’t I use this as a method of discipline?”

One of the most vocal spanking advocates around is Christian-based Focus on the Family, an organization which was originally founded by psychologist James Dobson back in the seventies.

In an opinion piece written for Time in 2014, Focus on the Family’s director of counseling Dr. Jared Pingleton, explains that

“spanking [. . .] can be one effective option among several in a parent’s tool chest as they seek to steer their children away from negative behaviors.”

He says it should be done at the right time, however.

“Generally speaking, we advise parents that corporal discipline should only be applied in cases of willful disobedience or defiance of authority—never for mere childish irresponsibility.”

Dr. Diana Baumrind from the University of California, a psychologist who has made a career researching authoritative disciplining methods, says that spanking doesn’t have long-term effects.

According to the New York Times, in a 2001 talk given at the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association, Baumrind stated that

“When parents are loving and firm and communicate well with the child, the children are exceptionally competent and well adjusted, whether or not their parents spanked them as preschoolers.”

Now that we caught your attention with this article, you may even want to do further research before you continue spanking your kids when they do something bad, as breaking things, or screaming in public.

Have you ever used this “old-fashioned” method of teaching your children a lesson? Or you believe in the power of “the talk?”

Below are the staggering results of the poll created by Tip Hero asking parents whether they support or oppose spanking.

TipHero

Over half of those who answered said they are for spanking the kids. Are you surprised by the results?

Please share with us your opinion regarding the subject. We would be happy to hear your thoughts.

Senior Rescued By Neighbor Who Stumbles Upon Her Secret

Good neighbors can make great friends that we can rely on whenever our family is not around. In many cases they are the ones who help us overcome certain difficulties and obstacles. They are closest to us, so whenever there is an emergency, they are the first to contact.

In the case of a lovely elderly woman whom the neighbors call “My Lady,” those living next door went a step further and helped her get a second chance for a better life.

Lucy Ashen from Fulham, England, who happens to be My Lady’s neighbor is really fond of everyone living around. She always makes sure to greet the passersby and wish them a great day. But, Lucy could never assume My Lady was hiding a secret from the rest of the neighbors until that day.

Facebook/Lucy Ashen

The 76-year old woman was experiencing mental health issues for years, but no one knew how severe her condition was because what was going on behind closed doors was a mystery.

What Lucy witnessed once she entered her neighbor’s one bedroom apartment saddened her to the core. The conditions were so awful that she couldn’t believe her eyes. Lucy could never imagine anyone living in such a place.

Flickr/J B

It happened that My Lady locked herself out of her flat and couldn’t get in, and that’s when she asked Lucy to get inside through the open window.

The flat was extremely filthy. It smelled really bad and it appeared that My Lady hadn’t have a bath in thirteen years. Her physical and mental state prevented her from keeping her home and herself clean, and that was the most heartbreaking thing ever.

“There was no food, filthy clothes, nobody to help her bathe and just never-ending loneliness and despair. What I saw when she finally let me in will stay with me forever! It was horrific! NOBODY should live like that!”

Facebook/My Lady and Me

Lucy knew she had to intervene and make things right. She was determined to help her neighbor spend the rest of her days away from the dirt and the clutter. Without hesitating a bit, she started cleaning, sorting, and disinfecting.

But, the thing was that most of the appliances weren’t functioning properly, so My Lady was in need of new household supplies, furniture, and even clothes.

In order for her to be able to get back into her flat as soon as possible, Lucy asked help from other people as well. She posted a plea on her Facebook page and she received messages from strangers offering to buy new items.

Facebook/Lucy Ashen

Almost all of the things needed for the place to become a home were gathered in less than 24 hours. Lucy was happy knowing there are so many companies, charities, health professionals, and others who were willing to step in.

“…with the kindness and generosity of the people who donated items, I have been able to turn her house into a home. She has everything she could need, a bed to sleep in (she was sleeping on the floor) good clean furniture, fresh new bedding, beautiful new clothes, three meals a day, and most importantly, company. She truly has been saved from a lonely and degrading life, she has been given her dignity back and I intend for her to live out the rest of her life in comfort and surrounded by love.”

Facebook/My Lady and Me

Thanks to Lucy and the people’s interest in the well-being of My Lady, she could have a normal life. Lucy even created a Facebook page where she was posting about My Lady’s journey and progress.

This whole experience provided My Lady with a completely new life. She understood the value of having someone who can take care of you. Now that she received a completely renovated place to live and the much needed bath, she resembles a happy person that was once hidden under the filth.

She can now spend her days in the company of her neighbors and her TV that she didn’t use in years only because it was set to a foreign language and the poor lady didn’t know how to fix it.

Facebook/My Lady and Me

My Lady has loved chatting with the strangers who have filtered in and out of her flat to help, as well as the conversations she’s had with Lucy while she cleans the home.

“We have laughed, sung and danced around the front room! She had her first car ride in years. The sun was out, the windows were down, the music was blaring and she was singing along! She loved it!”

Facebook/My Lady and Me

It is amazing how little it takes for a life to be saved. What Lucy had to offer was endless support, kindness, and devotion. This should serve as an example for the rest of us that we should never let anyone around us struggle.

There’s Scientific Evidence That Clutter Causes Anxiety

Has it ever happened to you to just sit right there in the corner of your living room, looking at all those things covering the sofa and the floors such as bunch of toys the kids didn’t pick up, or all the clothes placed on the chairs instead in the wardrobe, thinking how messy you place is? It does happen to many people, and according to science, being surrounded by clutter can be a major cause of anxiety.

Whereas there are people out there who can function just perfectly in a cluttered environment, most of us find it pretty much upsetting.

Scientists also argue that the state of your place is related to the state of your mind, when your surrounding is clean it reflects your thoughts and you are more calm.

One mother who has brought up this question on a forum where mothers share their daily life experiences couldn’t believe how many other women share the same feeling, saying how clutter makes them nervous, anxious and causes depression.

Psychologist Sherrie Bourg Carter wrote in an article for Psychology Today:

“Clutter can play a significant role in how we feel about our homes, our workplaces, and ourselves. Messy homes and workspaces leave us feeling anxious, helpless, and overwhelmed. Yet, rarely is clutter recognized as a significant source of stress in our lives.”

Source: How Does She

There are 8 major reasons why Carter believes this:

  • Clutter overwhelms us because it causes excessive stimuli so our senses go into overdrive
  • It distracts us from other things we’d like to focus on
  • It makes it harder to mentally and physically relax
  • It signals to our minds that our work is never done
  • It also causes anxiety because we have to think about how we are going to clean everything up
  • It can impede productivity and creativity
  • It makes it harder for us to find what we need and takes up space for doing other necessary things on our list

Source: MyLifeSuckers

However, it is interesting to mention that this doesn’t affect men the same way it affects women. The reason for this is that when women are surrounded be clutter the level of the hormone called cortisol increases, triggering stress, which is not the case with men.

Sometimes, not being able to keep your place clean may also cause the feeling of guilt. We consider ourselves incapable to deal with our choirs and it makes us frustrated and decreases our self-esteem.

According to Carter, these things can be eliminated if we follow some useful tips and tricks he suggests.

Source: Spouses Cleaning Houses

Here are some of those tips:

  • Get your family involved in cleaning. If you’re on your own, start in one space at a time before you move on to another so that you don’t get overwhelmed and can feel accomplished as you progress.
  • Create a specific space for your items so you’re more likely to keep the item in its designated space. It’s best to keep items in closed spaces so you don’t have to look at it.
  • Throw away things that you don’t use or that you don’t need. If you haven’t opened it or used it in a year, toss it!
  • Clean up your mess after you make it. It will give you a nice sense of closure and will be clean when you return to it.
