Natalia Bryant walked down Versace’s iconic black-and-white checkered runway at the Versace Spring 2024 show during Milan Fashion Week on Friday.

The late Kobe Bryant’s daughter had her debut and her mother couldn’t be prouder of her.

“I’m so proud of you! You did it mama!!!! I love you so much and I’m so happy for you,” Vanessa Bryant captioned an Instagram photo of her daughter.

Natalia herself was super excited for taking part in a runway show of such a famous brand.

“I am beyond excited about making my runway debut,” she said. “It’s such an incredible opportunity, and I’m so grateful to Donatella (Versace) and am honored that she has invited me to be a part of something so special.”

She then credited her mom for her interest in fashion and honest opinion. “She keeps it real, and I know she always has my best interest at heart.” The 20-year-old added that her mother encouraged her to find her own style.

Natalia, who is student at the University of Southern California, was signed by IMG Models in 2021.

Speaking of her passion to finally pursue a career in the fashion industry, she said, “I wanted to start fresh and do my own thing without having to worry about comparing myself to anyone or setting myself to anyone’s standard.”

Natalia told Vogue that Donatella Versace herself invited her to be part of the show. “She was just so welcoming and sweet and made me feel so comfortable, especially with it being my first runway,” she said. “Meeting her definitely helped settle any nerves.”

When preparing for her debut, besides seeking advice from her mom, Natalia also drew inspiration from supermodels she admires, such as Naomi Campbell.

“I’ve always loved watching videos of Naomi walking down the runway along with videos of other iconic supermodels I look up to,” she said. “My mom says, ‘Walk like Naomi but remember to be yourself, put your own style to your walk and always with your head held high.’”

The show included supermodels such as Claudia Schiffer and Gigi Hadid.

Natalia is the eldest daughter of Vanessa and the late NBA superstar Kobe Bryant who died in a tragic helicopter crash in Calabasas in 2020 along with seven others. The couple also share daughters Gianna, Bianka and Capri. Gianna was with her father on the day of the crash and lost her life.

On March 15 this year, Vanessa, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri were at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California, where the statue in Kobe Bryant’s honor was to be unveiled.

The handprints of the superstar legend that he had made in February 2011 were permanently displayed in the theatre’s public forecourt along with his ’24’ jersey. His younger daughters Bianka and Capri placed their hands on top of their fathers as well.

Natalia used the occasion to pay tribute to her late dad. “I’m honoured to be here today to recognise the man we all knew and love, my dad Kobe Bryant,” she said. “While most people knew him as a basketball player or a storyteller, I got to know and love him as my dad,” adding, “And let me tell you, he is the MVP of girl dads, to say the least.”

Large Asian Hornet nests found in abandoned house promoting fresh warnings

Asian hornets, known as Vespa velutina nigrithorax, which are native to Southeast Asia have been found in an abandoned home in St Brelades, a town located on the Channel Island in the United Kingdom.

This species is considered invasive because of its ability to displace local hornet populations and wreak havoc on ecosystems by attacking the honeybees population. They can also be very aggressive towards humans.

The first time Asian hornets found their way into Europe was through a nest hidden abroad a ship. They were first spotted in the south of France from where they spread throughout the continent, including United Kingdom.

The Channel Islands, including St Brelades, are particularly susceptible to the presence of these hornets due to their proximity to mainland Europe.

The nest found in St Brelades marks 171 nests of Asian hornets found this year in the United Kingdom compared to the 71 found at this time last year.

Authorities have concerns that their ability to keep this species out of the country is slipping away.

They are issuing warnings for the citizens to be extra cautious in case they stumble upon a nest of Asian hornets.

Since the spread of these hornets is fast, people should learn how to effectively handle such situations.

The most common places they can be found are:

Houses and buildings
Nests in trees and shrubs
In orchards
Anywhere that they can find a warm place to hide during the winter months.

In case you stumble upon an Asian hornet nest, there are some thing to have in mind since they can get extremely aggressive in case their habitat is disturbed.

Observe and Report: Do not try to remove it all by yourself since that requires appropriate expertise. Don’t even disturb them, as they can easily attack you. Instead, inform the local authorities and provide them with the exact location. If you live in the United Kingdon, you should contact the Animal and Plant Health Agency. They possess the right equipment and resources for dealing with Asian hornets.
Maintain Distance: Don’t get near the nest because that can trigger an attack. In case you get attacked, have in mind that these insects’ sting is extremely painful.
Educate Yourself: Get to know more about this insects as that can help in case you come across with them.
Protect Your Property: If you are aware of the existence of a nest near your residence, make sure you do all in your power to prevent them from getting indoors. Fix any small cracks and don’t keep the windows and doors open.

Jansen Panettiere, the brother of actress Hayden Panettiere, was discovered dead at the age of 28

Actress Hayden Panettiere is still mourning the loss of her brother Jansen who died in February aged 28.

On what would have been his 29th birthday, the Nashville alum paid tribute to him in a touching Instagram post.

“Happy Birthday little brother,” she captioned a throwback photo of the two on Christmas day as children. “I miss you everyday. I’ll love you forever ❤️”

Jansen, just like his older sister, was also part of the film industry. Among the rest, he appeared on Even Stevens, The Walking Dead and Racing Stripes.

The news of his passing shocked many. His friends discovered his lifeless body after he failed to show up for a meeting.

Reports are that Jansen’s buddies “raced to his home” after he missed the meeting he had booked. Upon arriving to his residence, one of his friends discovered Jansen “sitting in a chair, unresponsive,” so he dialed 911 and began CPR.

“Though it offers little solace, the Medical Examiner reported Jansen’s sudden passing was due to cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), coupled with aortic valve complications,” the family said in a statement.

“Jansen’s heart could be seen in his eyes, and his charm in his brilliant, engaging smile; his soul in his masterful and revealing paintings, and the joy of life in his dry wit,” the statement continued. “His charisma, warmth, compassion for others, and his creative spirit will live forever in our hearts and in the hearts of all whom he encountered.”

At the time of his passing, a source told ET, “Hayden is absolutely heartbroken. She loved her brother unconditionally and the two shared a special bond.”

She and her brother were very close and shared a special bond.

She often shared photos of the two having fun together. Days before his loss, Hayden shared a black-and-white photo of herself giving him a haircut. They were both laughing.

Even before experiencing this tragic loss, Hayden had been struggling with addictions she gradually opened about.

In 2018, she gave the custody over her daughter to her ex-husband.

“The best thing for my kid was to make sure she was okay, take care of myself, and make sure I could be a good mom to her. And that sometimes means letting go,” she said at the time.

Our hearts go out to the Panettiere family during their time of grief.

Take a deep breath before seeing Tina Louise at 89 – this is Ginger from ‘Gilligan’s Island’ today

Tina Louise is a synonym of timeless beauty. Her mark in Hollywood and on Broadway is so profound few people can ever say they are able to reach her status and glory.

Being born to parents who divorced while she was still young, Tina had a hard time accepting their separation and that somehow determined the course of her life and career.

“My path was very unusual. I lived with a lot of different cousins and aunts and strangers and so forth and so on, sort of a gypsy kind of a childhood,” she told Authority Magazine in 2019.

Although her mom was fashion model, Tina didn’t show any interest of following into her footsteps of being part of the entertainment industry whatsoever.

However, as year went by, she attended Miami University and everything changed.

“I saw a friend of mine who had gotten a part in a play on Broadway and he was the same age as me and I was very impressed,” Tina Louise told Authority Magazine.

“My mother took me backstage and I just really enjoyed it,” she continued. “And the very fact that my friend was in it gave me a little push to just proceed. I told my mother that I wanted to leave the University because the drama department wasn’t sufficient for me.”

Tina perfected her craft of acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre. In 1952, she made her Broadway debut in the Bette Davis musical Two’s Company and appeared in Playboy Magazine.

In 1957, Tina released her first music album, It’s Time for Tina, but it was acting that remained the moving power behind her success.

When she landed the role of Griselda Walden in the drama film God’s Little Acre, millions took notice of her talents and her looks. That same year, Tina took home the Golden Globe Award for the New Star of the Year.

“It was incredible,” she told Forbes. “The movie ended up in the Venice Film Festival. I went abroad. There were all these people around taking care of me. I didn’t have to worry about anything. We sat in the theater, and I got bright red roses [laughs]. I’m saying, ‘Why did you give me roses? You should give them to the writer, the director – somebody else.’”

After God’s Little Acre, she focused on her Broadway work and starred in some Italian films. In 1962, when returning from Europe, Tina started studying with Lee Strasberg at the Actor’s Studio.

“Everything Lee Strasberg said was important. He’d pick up your arm and see if—and how — it would drop to determine the level of relaxation in your body and spirit,” Tina told Esquire. “He’d say, ‘Make a sound.’ Some people would start to laugh and that would sometimes turn to tears. You didn’t have to be sad — it all came from deep relaxation.”

She continued, “I learned a lot from Lee about deep relaxation to get at something you were working toward. And then I found myself on Gilligan’s Island, where somebody’s telling you, ‘Go to the right.’ ‘Go to the left.’ That was an adjustment.”

With the role of Ginger in the legendary Gilligan’s Island, Tina reached a world-wide fame.

At first, she wasn’t fond of the script and the role, but she then found it “light and funny and charming.”

The role of Ginger was imagined as “part Marilyn [Monroe], part Lucille [Ball]..” and Tina had exactly that, and maybe more.

“I always had fun with the show. Ginger flirted. Flirting is fun! Flirting is good;” she told the NY Post.

Tina played the role throughout three seasons, or 98 episodes.

“I get letters every day at my house. I appreciate the fact that they love the series. I once had somebody come up to me in a restaurant, she said she was sorry to interrupt, but that her husband was dying of cancer and liked to look at the show every single day,” Tina Louise said.

“That was very, very important. I respect the fact that people like it so much. I understand that for myself – when you need diversion, you need diversion. When I was on my bed for two-and-a-quarter months [recuperating], I needed diversion. Fortunately, there was the reality show of an election that was really getting heated. I was grateful for that, the books I read and the people that came by.”

Other roles that marked her career are in the television series Kojak in 1974, the 1975 movie The Stepford Wives, the 1987 comedy OC and Stiggs, and the rockabilly satire film Johnny Sue in 1992, starring Brad Pitt.

Today, Tina is 89 and she’s a grandmother to two grandchildren,” whom she calls “my two beautiful babies.” She’s still living in New York.

She, of course, defies her age. Looking at her, one would assume she’s decades younger than she really is.

“Don’t number me. Who needs it?” Tina Louise added. “Numbers are not what you look like or how you live your life … Buddha said, ‘Live in the present moment. Wisely and earnestly.’”

If you see a purple butterfly sticker near a newborn, you need to know what it means

Millie Smith and Lewis Cann were over the moon upon the revelation that they would become parents. Having a number of twins in their family, Millie had the gut feeling that she was carrying two babies herself, and her mother’s instinct didn’t fail her.

The ultrasound showed that she was indeed expecting twins, but even at the beginning of the pregnancy, doctor’s could determine that one of the babies wasn’t likely to survive.

When Millie gave birth at 30 weeks pregnant, they were told that one of their daughters had anencephaly, a life-limiting condition where the baby’s brain and spinal cord (the fetal nervous system) do not develop properly.

They were also told that their bundle of joy only minutes to hours to live.

Knowing this, her parents wanted to name her before they could say the final goodbye. They chose the name Skye.

“We knew that Skye needed to have a name before she was born,” Millie said. “Knowing she would only survive for seconds or minutes, I wanted her to be named during that time.”

The meaning behind “Skye,” she explained, symbolized “somewhere we knew she would always be, that we could look up at the sky and remember our baby.”

“We were cuddling Skye when she passed away. This was the worst moment in our lives. I have never ever felt heartbreak like that before. But I am proud that she fought for so long to spend time with us.”

Skye only lived for three hours, time her parents spent admiring her beauty and enjoying her presence into their lives.

Following her passing, the couple were provided with a “bereavement midwife” and a “Daisy Room,” a space where parents can be with their infant before and after death, to help them cope with the loss.

However, once the girl was gone, no one talked about her any more. Millie felt like her baby never even existed, and that made her mad.

“Most of the nurses were aware of what had happened, but as time passed, people stopped talking about Skye. After about four weeks, everyone acted as though nothing had happened, meaning the families around me had no idea about our situation,” the grieving mother recalled.

As her other baby, Callie, was still at NICU, another mother who had just had twins on her own told Millie how lucky she was for not having twins, not knowing of Millie’s loss.

“None of the other parents knew what had happened or anything about Skye. The comment was completely innocent and more out of humor…They weren’t to know that I did at one point have two.” Millie continued, “But the comment nearly broke me. I ran out [of] the room in tears and they had no idea why. I didn’t have the heart to tell them what had happened. A simple sticker would have avoided that entire situation.”

This is when Millie came up with the idea of putting a sticker on the incubator indicating the loss of one or more babies in a set of multiples.

“I chose butterflies, as I felt it was fitting to remember the babies that flew away, the color purple because it is suitable for both boys or girls,” she explained.

Today, her initiative has grown into a foundation, The Skye High Foundation, that supports the purple butterfly initiative. So far, it helped spread the idea to hospitals in many different nations.

The purple butterfly merchandise includes a variety of gifts and accessories.

“Ultimately I will never be able to stop this from happening, but the more support groups we can set up and put things in place like the stickers the better it will be. It’s the hardest thing anyone has to deal with,” Millie said.

Today, her other girl, Callie is seven years old.

Wife allows friend to stay at her house – Finds out she’s pregnant with her husband’s child

They say that if a friendship lasts for over sever years, it’s likely to last a lifetime. But no matter how good we believe our friends are, we should never trust anyone fully, and one woman learned that lesson the hard way.

Namely, the woman, who shared her story on Reddit and asked fellow users to tell her if she had done the right thing, explained that she and her friend were inseparable ever since they were in second grade.

They shared their secrets, their pain, and their happiness with each other and formed a bond that was impossible to be broken, or at least the woman though so.

One day, the friend came knocking on the woman’s door, telling her how she failed to pay rent and was now on the streets. The woman, who was pregnant at the time, embraced her friend and welcomed her in her and her husband’s home.

Things seemed normal. The three got along well, and nothing spoke trouble.

One day, however, the friend told the woman that she took a pregnancy test which came out positive. She then told her to stand because she had some news to share.

To the shock of the woman, the friend said that the father of her baby was the woman’s husband.

“Years of friendship and marriage is just gone,” the woman wrote on Reddit. “She’s ruined everything… my best friend ruined everything.”

She added how she decided to leave her husband for good and people praised her for leaving rather than staying in an unhealthy relationship.

“I’m sorry this happened to you, but I’m glad to hear you are making an escape plan. Too often, people stay in a toxic situation and waste years being lied to and manipulated,” one user wrote.

“Being cheated on is heartbreaking in itself. But finding out when you’re pregnant is just awful. Please take care of yourself and your baby. Surround yourself [with] those who truly love you and who will be supportive of you,” another echoed.

They encouraged her to think of her own well-being and the well-being of her unborn child and move on with her life.

We hope she would be able to find the courage to get over the betrayal that caused her pain.

Karen Grassle drops bomb about Michael Landon, says he made ‘disgusting’ jokes on set of Little House

Little House on the Prairie is one of those series that remain iconic and never lose their popularity no matter how much time passes by. Since the day it first aired back in 1974, it has never been off air.

The story follows the lives of the Ingalls family who live on a farm in Plum Creek, near Walnut Grove, Minnesota. It explores various themes and remains until this day one of best series of all time.

The actors who were part of its creation made huge names for themselves in the film industry. Among those who made the series what it is today are great Michael Landon, who played the role of Charles Ingalls, Karen Grassle, who portrayed the role of Caroline Ingalls, the most famous mother figure in the history of film, Melissa Gilbert, Melissa Sue Anderson, Dean Butler, and a lot more.

Karen Grassel got the role of Caroline Ingalls thanks to a happy coincidence. At the time the producers were looking for someone to play the role, Grassle was planning on working on another project, an independent film in LA. However, as she went to the airport, there were no tickets.

She then got a call from her agent about a film starring Michael Landon whom she knew at the time as “that guy from Bonanza.”

“They’d seen everyone in Hollywood who was right for the part. They were down to the wire because they cast everyone else. After I read my second scene with Mike, he leaped up like a jack-in-the-box and said, ‘Bring her to wardrobe!’ But NBC had to approve me, so he interviewed for executives on closed-circuit TV,” Grassle recalled.

Although the series was an adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s best-selling series of Little House books and on her childhood, when it came to Caroline Ingalls, actress Karen Grassle based the role on her own mother.

“If you read Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books and see photos, Caroline was very tough and sturdy,” she explained. “My mother rode a horse barefoot to school, and as a young woman, she taught in a one-room schoolhouse! So I took her character, strength and wisdom and infused Caroline with that.”

At the time she became part of the cast, the actress was probably not aware of the extent of popularity Little House on the Prairie would bring for her and the rest of the crew. Speaking of the time she was working on the iconic series, Karen said of Landon: “He was constantly trying to make the crew laugh and make everybody happy. A very hard worker and he could be quite moody — he had a lot on his shoulders that first year. He had a falling-out with a producer very early on, so he was the only captain.”

However, as the series gained more and more popularity, Grassle and Michael Landon got into a fight about the amount of money she earned.

As per the Daily Mail, Grassle explains in her book how Landon lashed out at her several times, including how he mocked her, told her “disgusting” jokes, and insulting her by saying she shouldn’t get paid more than the child actors on Little House.

“I felt insulted as his co-star on a hit series,” she claims. “I didn’t want to gouge anybody, but I expected a fair wage.

“He would say things like, ‘The network has done some testing and Ma is not the favorite character so they don’t want to give you more money.’ Or he’d say ‘You know, it’s a jungle out there.’ Or ‘Well, Karen there has to be some parity between you and the girls,’” Grassle explained, referring to the young actress that played her and Landon’s on-screen daughters.

“Michael was prodigiously talented,” she told Closer. “A complicated character from a dysfunctional family who loved his crew. But when the show was in the top 10 and I said, ‘Gee, it is time to renegotiate my contract,’ Michael did not want to pay me. It was very difficult.”

She didn’t speak publicly about the rift because she didn’t want to damage her relationship with Landon any further. “I didn’t speak up publicly at the time,” Grassle said. “Unless the fact that I continued to negotiate meant that Mike might have said things about me that could have been detrimental.”

Following the dispute, Landon began to cut her scenes and leave her out of the storyline.

According to Grassle, he also mocked her body and her facial expressions.

“It was almost like I was frozen,’ she said. “But, as a woman in the 1970s film industry, I was so accustomed to these putdowns, it never occurred to me to sharply rebuke him. I kept up the professionalism. I’d be the good girl, play the part, and hope.”

Before Landon’s passing back in 1991, he and Grassle got on good terms again and spoke to one another recalling the good old times. “We had a friendly call about the good old days,” Grassle said. “I was glad we had that healing.”

Landon was much appreciated by everyone who has ever met him. He was an exceptional man and an actor who helped many succeed. Actor Dean Butler, for once, spoke of the impact Landon had on his life and career.

He was a kind of person who cared for those working with him dearly and always made sure each member of the crew would be home having dinner with their family every night.

Luckily, there are those who besides the status of being celebs, have hearts of gold, and when we think of such individuals, one of the names that comes to mind is that of the NBA hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal!

Over the years, this gentle giant has impacted the lives of many.

Just recently, Shaq was spotted walking into a Best Buy in Lafayette, Louisiana, asking to buy the latest Samsung Galaxy Z Flip phone.

A woman at the store, Kquoella Lewis, who was looking to buy an iPad, shared her thoughts about the phone with the former basketball star. In the next moment, Shaq told the cashier, “Get two, one for me and one for her,” and then handed the brand new phone, which cost around $1200, to Lewis.

This, however, isn’t the first time that Shaq did a good deed for a complete stranger.

Some time ago, he heard the story of a boy who was unable to find his shoe size because his feet were very big.

At 14 years of age, Eric Kilburn Jr., a student at Goodrich High School, is 6 feet 10 inches tall and fits into a men’s size 23 shoe.

After exhausting all their options of finding the right size shoes, the family went public and asked for help from people.

They had his current size 22 shoes professionally resized and Eric had his toenails removed in order to prevent repeated ingrown toenails because of his shoes. On top of that, he had been getting blisters all the time.

Once the family was finally able to locate a store that would custom-make shoes of Eric’s size, they would cost $1,500 a pair, and Eric needed two pairs at least, one for everyday, and another one a bit fancier.

Unable to afford to buy the shoes, Eric’s family started a GoFundMe page, and that’s when Shaq heard of this struggling boy.

The family received calls from Under Armour, Puma, CAT, and other professional footwear companies, who offered to design shoes from Eric.

Other than that, they received a call directly from Shaq. His team at Reebok sent Eric five different designs.

The shoes came with a note that said, “Eric — Hoping these shoes we created for Shaq could be fit and offer you some relief. We have a few more things headed your way, but wanted to get these to you ASAP. Know that we’re here to help and behind you every step of the way!”

Shaquille O’Neal is truly special. A man with a heart of gold.

Some love stories are meant to last forever, and that of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill is definitely one of those.

Recently, Faith celebrated her 56th birthday and her family shared heartfelt messages, paying tribute to her and reminding her just how loved and appreciated she is.

Her daughter Gracie took to Instagram to dedicate some sweet stories to her mom. Among the rest, Gracie posted a photo of Faith with the words “Happy Birthday” written all over it. She then posted a couple of videos showing the girls and their mom singing a Michael Jackson song, and Faith dancing to Frank Sinatra music.

Maggie, the couple’s other daughter, posted a collage of photos with the caption, “It’s my bffs birthday!!!!! Love you, mom.”

Their youngest daughter, Audrey, posted, “I love love you Happy Birthday Mom.”

However, the sweetest tribute came from Faith’s loving husband of nearly 27 years.

With a post that included photos of Faith, Tim congratulated her on her birthday with a heart-melting message.

“Happy birthday to the love of my life, my partner and my best friend You light up every room you walk into And you light up my heart and soul I love you more than I could ever express in a million years This is your day my love!!!!♥️😘 @faithhill.”

To show her his love for her, Tim dedicated a song to Faith titled Her. Asked what she thinks of the beautiful piece of music, Tim said, “Oh, she loves it!” He then smiled and added: “She makes me play it all the time… I’ve had enough of it, I don’t wanna hear it, [but] she loves it!

“She loved it so much. She goes, ‘This is about me, right?’ I go, ‘Yeah, of course! Of course! You’re the her,’” Tim said of the first time Faith heard the song.

We are so in love with this couple.

High school mourns tragic death of 16-year-old ‘sweet angel’ who died in fiery crash – the last thing she shared on social media is heartbreaking

Liv Teverino, an incredibly loving young lady of 16 years, lost her life in a horrific manner and now the entire community is mourning her loss.

On September 18, around 5:30 p.m, Liv’s vehicle, a 2016 Volovo XC90, crushed into a tree and engulfed in flames less than a mile from her school. Sadly, she couldn’t get outside because she was trapped inside the car.

“Once the fire was extinguished, they located the driver, now identified as sixteen-year-old Liv Teverino of Marietta trapped within the vehicle. Teverino did not survive the crash,” Marietta Police Department said.

Liv was loved by the entire community. She was described as “just the all-American kind of girl.”

Carla Manuel, a friend of the family, said of Liv, “She was such a sweet girl…She was a shining star. She would go out of her way to help everybody. It doesn’t matter who you are, she just always gave of herself. She’s gone too soon, way too soon.”

Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin who knew Liv since she was young because she was friends with her granddaughter said, “We know she had a bright future.

“She had a bright presence, her sweet, beautiful presence touched our city and everybody she met.”

Liv was very popular among her friends. She was part of the Marietta High School International Baccalaureate Programme and was also a member of the state champion cross country team.

“There’s athletes, and then there’s great people, and she’s a great person,” her coach, Jack Coleman said, adding that a recent ankle injury prevented her from participating at the Cobb County Cross Country Championships the weekend before her death. “Liv was just a positive light on the team, just always so, so positive about everything on our team.”

Payton Konop, a friend of Liv, wrote she “was the most kind, beautiful, loving, and Christ filled girl you could meet.

“I feel like everyone expects us to say that, but there truly wasn’t a negative or judgmental bone in her body. She was there for me through everything. The bestest friend who always knew what to say.” Payton added: “She was creative and smart, always scoring higher than me on every test. I’m gonna miss the way she loved so deeply. Her kind soul that got taken home too soon.”

Others added to Payton’s comment, with one person writing, “Payton, this was perfect. Her joyous heart lives within all of us forever. I love you SO much, and I’m here for you, beautiful.” Another one added: “i love you so much pay, always here for you! i miss that sweet angel.”

Liv’s final post on social media consisted of photos of her from the summer. It showed just how much fun she had, and how loved she was by everyone she knew.

This young woman had a promising future in front of her and the way her life was cut short is nothing less than heartbreaking and tragic. May she rest in peace.

Rory Feek and 8-year-old daughter Indy sing sweet duet: ‘She was so proud of herself’

Joey and Rory were a much-loved couple, but sadly, Joey lost her battle to cervical cancer leaving her husband and their then-two-year-old daughter behind.

Indiana, the couple’s child, was born several months before her mother’s cancer diagnosis. Following her passing, it was Rory who took all the care for the sweet girl who was born with Down Syndrome.

No matter how much it hurt, Rory knew he had to remain strong for his little girl. Sweet Indy is 8 today, and her father says she’s the best thing that has ever happened to him.

In one of his blogs he titled “Crib Notes,” Rory speaks of Indy and says, “God doesn’t make mistakes.”

He wants people to know that being a girl with Down Syndrome doesn’t make Indy less loved, or a mistake, as some people would call her. No child can ever be a mistake, regardless of how they look. And Indy is a real beauty.

Rory goes on writing how his daughter’s life is as meaningful as that of any other child out there. She has her likes, dislikes, and dreams.

Today, she loves what her father does and she even accompanies him on stage.

Recently, the two sang Daddy What If together and the video of the father-duo performance melted millions of hearts.

“It didn’t take me but a moment to think of which song it should be – one that I’ve known and loved for years. Actually for decades,” the county singer wrote on his blog.

Rory helped Indy with the lyrics by typing them out and then drawing pictures next to the parts Indy would sing. He also changed the lyrics from “Daddy” to “Papa” because that’s what Indy calls him.

Indy spent a lot of time practicing.

“She was so proud of herself and so happy that she could sing a real song with her Papa.

“By Christmas time, she was joining me on stage to sing it in front of the room full of folks who’d traveled from all across the country to be with us… and oh, what a special moment it was for her, for me, and for the surprised people in the concert hall,” he wrote.

Following an onstage performance, Rory got thinking to himself it would be great if he and Indy record the song in a studio.

“I am thinking of my own father this morning and of Joey’s father Jack. And of my older girls Heidi and Hopie and the gift God gave me to be their father and Indiana’s. And of course, I’m thinking of Joey and how she would so love this moment. To hear our little one sing with her Papa, and see what a beautiful young lady she’s becoming. And to know that the music that was inside her, is also inside her little girl,” Rory wrote when he released the video of the song on Father’s Day.

Ozzy Osbourne, 74, gives health update after ‘final’ surgery – ‘I can’t do it anymore’

Ozzy Osbourne, ‘The Prince of Darkness,’ has suffered a number of health issues throughout his life, but the last years have been the most difficult ones.

Ever since his quad-bike accident in 2003, everything went downfall for the Black Sabbath singer. Later, in 2019, he suffered yet another life-threatening fall when he fell in his bathroom and dislodged metal screws in his spine.

His wife, Sharon Osbourne, has opened up of her husband’s heath recently and revealed that the musician was about to undergo yet another surgery that will likely “determine the rest of his life.”

Ozzy, 74, now gave a health update himself and spoke of his final surgery to mend his broken neck, describing the last few years as “absolute hell.”

While on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ozzy was asked how he was feeling.

His response was: “I finally had my last procedure two days ago.

“I can’t believe I’ve come to the end of it. The main thing is over now, I’m done with the surgery.”

He then added: “But it’s been five years of absolute hell for me and my family. The family has been so supportive of me. I couldn’t have done it without them. It’s been a really bad scene. I have Parkinson’s, but I never think about it.”

Ozzy’s son, Jack, said many people believe that his father’s fragile health is a result of his Parkinson’s disease, but that’s not true. In fact, his struggles started after the neck injury and subsequent fall he took in 2019.

“I carried on working with it, until I had a fall and then it just, everything came undone,” Ozzy said.

“I don’t gripe, I get on with it. If you are still moving, you ain’t going to be dead.”

On the podcast The Osbournes, the Hellraiser singer spoke of his fourth and last neck surgery.

“It is gonna be the final surgery, because I can’t do it anymore. Regardless of the way it ends up after tomorrow, I’m not doing it anymore. I can’t.”

Earlier this year, Ozzy announced he was canceling his tours and told fans he would be retiring.

Since his last tour, which took place back in 2018, the Black Sabbath singer has only performed twice at live events.

The must-have kitchen tool that makes prepping herbs so much easier

Whether fresh or dried, herbs make dishes more flavorful. They add to the taste and the texture and are irreplaceable part of every cuisine.

Of course, it’s safe to say that when used fresh, herbs intensify the taste even further. One drawback, however, of using fresh herbs instead of their dried counterparts is the time it takes to wash them, strip them, and chop them. This is one of the reasons people avoid using them when cooking.

Luckily, there are kitchen tools and gadgets which facilitate the process of preparing herbs to use them fresh. One of those is the underrated herb stripper.

This tool, which speeds the process of preparation significantly, helps remove leaves from stems. They come with different sized holes to fit different herbs, including bigger leafy vegetables as kale.

The usage is pretty simple. All you need to do is place the stem on one side of the fitting hole and pull it through until all the leaves come off.

Some herb strippers come with a blade and have bowls attached to catch the leaves as they go through the holes.

Speaking of herbs and their wide usage in the cuisines from every corner of Earth, below is a list of some of the most widely used fresh herbs.

Basil is a flavorful, leafy green herb which comes in many varieties. Popular as a food seasoning and the main ingredient of the popular pesto sauce, this herb has found its way to almost every cuisine, despite being commonly found in Mediterranean recipes.

To get the most out of this herb add the leaves toward the end of the cooking process.

Rosemary goes ideally with dishes like lamb chops, chicken, roast beef, and roasted potatoes. However, it is also perfect for flatbread, sweet potato fries, and even in cake. The thing is that this herb is tough to prepare, which makes the herb stripper the ideal tool to use with it.

Cilantro, which comes from the fresh leaves of the coriander plant, is a herb that you either love or hate incorporated in your food. It is, however, a staple in Asian and Latin American food. Fresh cilantro tastes pungent, bright, lemony, and a little peppery, but many say it tastes like soap.

Dill, often paired with salmon, potatoes, and yogurt-based sauces, is commonly used to elevate the flavor of various dishes. It’s a delicate herb with a strong, fresh, earthy flavor.

Marjoram‘s flavour could be described like that of oregano, but milder and yet intense. While its leaves are nicely paired with salads, soups, sauces, and fish, its stems bring out the flavor when used in a stock or soup.

Thyme has a distinctive taste and that makes it a culinary staple to this day. Fresh leaves or whole sprigs can be used for meat or poultry. Thyme is also an excellent ingredient to use with fish. It also goes well in coctails.

Mint is used with a variety of dishes and goes well on top of fruit salads. It not only adds flavour, but it also helps reduce the intake of sodium and sugar at those who consume it. It is best to add raw mint leaves at the end of the cooking process. This helps them maintain their delicate flavor and texture.

Parsley is one of the most versatile herbs there are. Although the possibilities of its usage are endless, parsley is especially delicious with pasta, butter, eggs, and lemon.

Oregano is a herb quintessential to recipes like chili pasta and pizza sauces. Oregano provides antioxidants when people consume it in the diet. It can be grown in a pot on a windowsill or balcony or in the garden. It is a perennial, which means it can grow all year.

Shania Twain is still one of the most gorgeous female musicians out there

With her enchanting music and hits such as Come on Over that topped the charts for a very long time, the ‘Queen of Country Pop,’ Shania Twain, caught the world by storm.

Born Eilleen Regina Edwards in Windsor, Ontario, on August 28, 1965, Shania and her two sisters were brought up by their mother and her husband Jerry Twain, whom they considered a real dad as their biological father didn’t have much to do with their upbringing.

During her young years, Shania’s life, and that of her family, wasn’t an easy one. They had a hard time make ends meet and didn’t have much food on the table although their adoptive father Jerry worked hard to provide for the family. There were times when they survived only on “goulash,” a dish consisting of dry bread with boiled milk and brown sugar. Despite the hardship, Shania never really shared details of her life with anyone because she was afraid that authorities could break her family apart if they knew how bad they lived and how much they struggled.

At one point of her life, Shania’s parents’ marriage turned into a rocky one and she forced her mother to leave Jerry, which is exactly what happened. But some time later, the two decided to give their relationship another try and stayed together until the tragic incident in which they both lost their lives. At the time her parents died in a crash after they collided with a truck loaded with timber, Shania had already been involved with music. In fact, she did gigs at the age of just eight. She performed at rural bars, and when she reached 13, she got to perform on the Tommy Hunter Show, a legendary country music variety show that aired on CBC Television and ran for 27 years. When she was 21, she relocated to Toronto, and just a year later, when both her parents died, she almost gave up on music in order to raise her two sisters and two brothers. “I thought, my family comes first. I have to take care of them. I didn’t even think of my future… I’m lucky I got the job at Deerhurst, because it was music. I didn’t know where I was going to go from there,” the singer said.

“I feel like I’ve been this tree with good sturdy roots for 30 years, then all of a sudden someone comes along and is trying to cut me down, cut a part me off,” Shania said of the loss of her parents.

“It was a very, very difficult time. But it was also a turning point in my life that, I think, matured me, brought me up to where I should have been in the first place at that age,” she told CBC.

In 1993, after putting together a demo tape of her song, she caught the attention of a Mercury Nashville Records executive and released her self-titled debut album, Shania Twain.

This album caught the attention of South African record producer Mutt Lange who offered to do some music for Shania. Partnering with him happened to be the best decision she could make at the time as it was then that she released some of her most prominent hits that turned her into a worldwide star almost over night. Even today, Come On Over is the ninth highest-selling album by any type of artist in the US, and the top-selling country album in history.

Shania and Mutt Lange fell in love and tied the knot. They welcomed son Eja in 2001. The marriage resembled a picture perfect one and Shania denied every rumor published by the gossip columnists. “There’s been talk in the tabloids that we’re divorcing, but we are very happy. We love each other in every way. We have a great creative relationship and a great personal relationship. We feel as strong as ever – and “Still the One” is sort of my own personal song about marriage.”

But then in 2008, the couple divorced. The reason was a heartbreaking one. Mutt had an affair with Shania’s closest friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud, who entered the former-couple’s life when she was hired as Mutt’s personal assistant and a translator. “I’ll be honest: when your husband leaves you, and falls into the arms of your close friend, your self-esteem can really suffer,” Shania told EW, adding that she felt that she would die.

Some years later, in a strange twist of events, Shania found love again. This time, with Marie-Anne Thiébaud’s ex-husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, whom she married in 2008. It was the heartbreak they suffered by their former spouses that brought them together.

“I don’t take any day for granted any more. Fred has give me a new lease on love,” the country pop star told the Daily Mail.

Today, Shania lives in Switzerland, but she has her show in Las Vegas.

Her music and her incredible career was an inspiration for many singers to follow her path, among them Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood. “I think we were all definitely influenced by Shania, even if we don’t realize it. (Her music) was so different and kind of revolutionary at the time. She definitely paved the way for a lot of us,” Carrie Underwood told AP in 2016.

At the age of 56, Shania Twain looks as stunning as ever. She is believed to be a vegetarian who keeps her looks young by eating mostly raw food.

“I’m pretty insecure about my changing body… I’m letting ‘the girls’ hang loose under my sweat clothes around the house and when someone comes to the door, I cross my arms under them for support,” she told EW.

“For me personally, I’m sure it’s very different for everybody, but I just started with time. Stepping out of battles that I couldn’t win. I mean, you know, aging is a battle you can’t win,” she said in 2020, in the LadyGang podcast.

“That battle and the focus and energy it takes, is taking up too much space! In my life, my emotional state, my mental state. I’ve got songs to write. I’m not gonna sit around,” Shania said.

Farmer finds pasture empty, sees all 32 dead cows in one big pile

Jared Blackwelder, a farmer from Springfield, Missouri, experienced the shock of his life when he went to the pasture to collect the cows for the evening milking.

To his disbelief, all of his 32 cows were piled on top of each other, dead on the mulch.

Blackwelder couldn’t believe his eyes and was initially unaware of what could have caused this horrific scene, but once he got to his senses, he realized that his cows were likely struck by lightning.

Stan Coday, president of the Wright County Missouri Farm Bureau, spoke to CBS News of Blackwelder misfortune and said, “[Blackwelder] went out to bring the cows in and that’s when he found them.

“It’s a common occurrence. It does happen. The thing that made this the worst was just the sheer number of cows that were affected.”

The vet who examined the dead cows determined that in was indeed lighting that claimed their lives.

It is believed that the animals were trying to find shelter and hide from the heavy rain and thunder, and that’s when they all gathered under a tree.

“You’re at the mercy of mother nature,” Coday said and added that he lost a cow in the same manner some years ago.

“It’s not like they are pets. But the ones I’m milking, I’ve raised every one of them,” Blackwelder told the Springfield News-Leader. “Dairy cattle are a little different because you mess with them twice a day. It knocks you hard.”

Sadly, the issue with this loss is that it is a financial one at the same time.

News-Leader reported that Blackwelder had insurance but is unsure if that would be enough to cover he losses.

His total loss is over $60,000.

“Most producers don’t carry insurance,” Coday said. “If you lose a cow you’ve lost everything.”

The dead cows can’t even be used for their meat because it’s been hours since the owner found them dead.

“Those animals are damaged and of course they had been there for a few hours when he found them,” Coday said. “In processing an animal, there’s a process that needs to be gone through. They wouldn’t have been fit for human consumption.”

The issue with most farmers of Missouri is that they don’t have dedicated cow barns due to the the state’s milder weather and this incident wasn’t something Blackwelder had control on.

Princess Kate disappoints royal fans with latest update

Meeting members of the British royal family is always a delight for their fans. When they announce official visits, a great number of people gather to greet them. Those who get the chance to speak to them feel privileged.

I believe that although Charles is the head of the monarchy following his mother’s passing, it is still the Prince and Princess of Wales that royal fans are most enthusiastic about.

Both William and Kate have been extremely busy with their royal engagements that involve plenty of visits not only of places within the Kingdom but also abroad.

The couple visited United States for the first time since 2014 and attended the Earthshot Prize Awards which William founded in 2020. Earlier this year, however, it became an independent charity and William serves as its president.

“Protecting the environment was a cause close to my grandmother’s heart. And I know she would have been delighted to hear about this event and the support you’re all giving our Earthshot finalists, the next generation of environmental pioneers,” William said in a recorded message after he was forced to cancel the September Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit in New York because of Queen Elizabeth’s passing.

Instead, the trip took place some two months later and what caught everyone’s attention was that the royals didn’t fly to the States privately but used a commercial flight and remained-low key the entire time.

“As soon as people saw them get on you could tell there was a buzz on the airplane,” passenger Jonathan Wood shared with CBS News. “It was a wild experience, but it was great.”

“Surprising … you assume they’d have a private jet,” passenger Jo Atkins told CBS. “[William is] a lot slimmer… can I say that? He’s very slight. She’s beautiful, obviously, as one would expect. I didn’t expect that getting on the plane.”

“Well look, they’re coming for Earthshot. It’s an environmental thing, right, so being on a commercial flight makes sense,” another passenger, Luke Howard, added.

Upon landing, the Prince and Princess of Wales were greeted by Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker and Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito and William thanked the people who were there to welcome them “for their many tributes paid to the late queen,” adding that his late grandmother always spoke of her 1976 visit to Boston “with great fondness.”

Among those who got to greet and meet the royal couple was an 8-year-old boy named Henry Dynov-Teixeira. The sweet boy was dressed as a Buckingham Palace guard and presented them with roses.

“I am going to scream and tell my best friend that I am now famous,” Henry told Mirror UK.

Kate and William also met with the Boston mayor and the US ambassador to Australia, Caroline Kennedy. They attended an NBA game and watched Boston Celtic play. All in all, their time there was fulfilling and fun as it was effective.

When the couple are away from home, the care for their children is handed to Kate’s parents and the children’s long-time nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo.

Borrallo has been with the family since Prince George was just 8 months old.

“She is not married and doesn’t have a boyfriend, as her life is totally dedicated to the family she is working with. She is known for being totally professional – married to the job,” an insider told Hello Magazine.

Although the kids can’t join them on every trip, William and Kate try to involve them in their own special way.

“They are always asking us where we are going. “And we show them where we are on the map,” William said during their 2022 March trip to the Caribbean.

“We let them know where we are, and [George] finds us on the map and puts a pin in it and shares with the others.”

It has been announced that William will travel to New York for the Earthshot Prize finalist’s celebration in New York by himself. However, he was supposed to be accompanied by Kate and George to Singapore later this year for the Earthshot Awards.

Now, there have been rumors that Kate and George won’t go with William, which disappointed their fans there.

As reported by Hello! Magazine, many took to social media when the update was provided.

“So sad. We wanna see Princess Catherine,” one royal fan wrote on social media.

Another commented: “Noooooo,” and a third simply posted a crying emoji.

Many hope this isn’t true.

“Hopefully, this is not true. From what we have seen so far, it is basically confirmed (not officially by the palace) that Catherine will be there,” one person wrote.

Another stated: “I don’t believe this for one second.”

While in New York, the Prince of Wales is meeting with UN secretary-general António Guterres, with delegations from Ecuador and Vanuatu, wading into the Hudson River in aid of a new water project and, of course, unveiling the 15 Earthshot finalists.

“This trip is part of his evolution as a global statesman which is incredibly important, especially since becoming Prince of Wales. He and his courtiers have been thinking about how to manage that transition from Duke of Cambridge to the next King,” a royal aide told The Times.

“The US is very important to him. Put salt in the toilet – This is something plumbers will never tell you

Salt is one of the most fundamental seasonings in every cuisine in the world. But as much as it makes every dish tastier, salt has other usage too.

Have you ever tried using salt in order to clean something or get rid of stains? If not, we’ll show you how.

1. Salt can fix the odor in the toilet

Coarse salt is excellent at eliminating odors and it’s a key ingredient to a number of cleaning solutions. If you want to try its effectiveness, just place a tumbler of coarse salt into the bowl of the toilet and leave it there overnight. It will absorb any unpleasant scents.

In the morning, just pour a cattle of boiling water into the toilet.

2. Salt as a drain cleaner

If your drain is clogged, you can try to fix it without calling a plumber by putting a lot of salt in the drain, similar as to how you put it in the dishwasher.

Leave it for some time, the best would be overnight, and pour hot, almost boiling water, into the drain the following morning.

3. Remove stains with salt: A natural alternative to chemicals

Removing stubborn yellow stains off walls, tubs, and toilet bowls may be a real pain.

The chemical cleaners can affect our health, so if you want to avoid using them, turn to a natural alternative.

In order to come up with a cleaning paste at home, use half a cup of salt, one teaspoon of baking soda, and water. Mix it well and then use it to get rid of the stains. How it’s done? Place the paste over the stains and leave it overnight. The next morning, rub it gently and then rinse it, and you are done.

4. Whitening

If you are in need of polishing the ceramics, just put some salt, either coarse or fine, into a bowl. Then use it to rub the ceramics with a brush. They will get brighter and would be sterilized.

Using salt in the process of cleaning can be both effective and will cost you less money than buying expensive products. Japanese have been using it for centuries.

Former circus elephants separated for 22 years, camera catches phenomenal moment they reunite for 1st time

According to researchers, elephants are most similar to humans when it comes to expressing emotions.

These animals are capable of expressing grief when some of their family dies, and they are also capable of ‘adopting’ young calves who lost their moms.

The story of Shirley and Jenny, two circus elephants who had been separated for 22 years before they finally reunited is just another proof of the caring and loving nature of this species.

The video of the long-anticipated reunion was taken at the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. The love and affection these long-lost friends showed to one another is astonishing. It shows that elephants do have incredible memory.

It looks like no time passed by for these incredible creatures. The time they once spent together at the circus where they performed was enough to form a bond that would last a lifetime.

Michael Grimm, ‘America’s Got Talent’ champ battles unidentified illness: ‘A tale of uncertainty’

The blues and soul singer-songwriter Michael Grimm, who stole the hearts of millions the moment he took the stage of America’s Got Talent and won the fifth season, has been hospitalized due to a mysterious illness.

His wife, Lucie Zolverva-Grimm, posted an emotional video on Instagram.

“For those of you who’ve been out to see Michael the past couple of months, you might have noticed that he was struggling with his health a lot, lacking energy and not being able to fulfill shows,” she said of her husband.

“We ended up taking him to the hospital, to the ER. The doctors still couldn’t figure out what was going wrong with him. But regardless, whatever the issue was, on Memorial Day, it kind of took him over. He was looking increasingly sickly, all of the sudden he could barely walk, couldn’t lift his head. He couldn’t respond right away to me when I would ask him things.”

Doctors believed he could have suffered a stoke since he was speaking gibberish at the time and experienced physical tremors, but they soon determined that wasn’t the case.

“His blood pressure was skyrocketing. He became really agitated with the medication that he was given, and they had to put him in the ICU,” Lucie added in her post.

She further explained that the singer needed to be put on a ventilator and sedated so he wouldn’t have a stroke. “Michael has been in ICU all week. For the safety of his health, they had to put him on a ventilator and sedate him pretty heavily, so he wouldn’t stroke out. So he wouldn’t flatline,” she said. “It’s just been an entire week at the hospital. I’m emotionally and physically exhausted, so please pardon my emotional state.”

Lucie continued, “The good news is that the doctors were finally able to remove the ventilator today and he is breathing on his own. He’s doing good. However, due to the last week, his body went through a lot. They do have him sedated, so he doesn’t seize or flatline from the fluctuating blood pressure.”

She informed her husband’s fans that although he started feeling better, doctors were unable to provide him with a diagnosis as they are still unaware what caused the health scare he experienced. “Basically, the doctors are isolating individual systems and organs, and we are systematically working through it. There were some things. We’re clearing them out one by one. He is improving, so that’s good. It’s taking time,” she said.

We are glad Michael is feeling better. We pray for his full recovery.

Jason Aldean shares health update after taking son to the ER

American country music artist Jason Aldean shared with fans that his son Memphis had to visit the ER for the first time.

“Lil man had his first trip to the ER today,” the country singer, 45, posted on Instagram alongside a photo of the boy resting at the hospital. “Needed 2 stitches and took it like a champ. Back home and rockin.”

Jason’s wife, Brittany, also posted of her son’s trip to the ER but revealed the detail that Memphis needed some medical help because he fell at the pool.

“Our day took a turn when Mems fell at the pool,” she added. “Two stitches under his chin and our first official trip to the E.R.”

The post further added that she was “thankful for such great nurses and one awesome doc” who took care of her little one, writing, “He is doing great… mama’s heart, not so much.”

The Trouble With a Heartbreak singer and his family have been having a blast at their Florida home this summer.

After spending a night at their beach home, Brittany announced they would now be residing there. “We are officially Florida residents again!” she captioned an Instagram story that showed a huge swimming pool with a hot tub surrounded by palm trees.

Later that same day, she posted a video of the interior of the place, sharing with her followers what their home looked like.

Among the rest, the video showed Jason relaxing on the couch watching what appears to be a cooking show.

“First night in our new place,” she wrote alongside a heart and wine glass emoji.

Florida holds a special place for Jason, who spent plenty of time there as a child following his parents’ divorce.

This isn’t the family’s first Florida home, however.

“We just bought again in Florida… and are currently building something new in Nashville,” Brittany shared. ”As for another dream home… probably. We truly enjoy the excitement of new projects (But not anytime soon).”

Speaking to Music Mayhem in March, Jason revealed that they weren’t really building anything new in Florida but they both a home and they are remodeling it to their own liking.

“We purchased Memphis a metal detector since he’s on a mission to uncover some pirate treasure!” said the caption of Jason’s photo. “Being a beach man, nothing makes me happier than seeing my kids love the sea!”

For 40 years he was drinking coffee with salt – When he passed away wife finds out the real truth

The following story is a reminder that when we love someone genuinely, we would never do anything to hurt their feelings, even if that means having to have salty coffee our entire life.

If you wonder what this means, keep reading.

When a couple met back in the day, they both ordered some coffee, but then the man asked for some salt to add to it.

The woman was quite confused as she had never heard anyone having their coffee with salt.

Although it was their first date ever, she decided to ask him about his uncommon preference.

He replied: “When I was a little boy, I was living near the sea, I liked playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, just like the taste of salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee, I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown so much, I miss my parents who are still living there.”

Eventually, the two got married and spent wonderful years together.

After over four decades, before the man died, he wrote a letter to his darling wife.

“My dearest,

Please forgive me; forgive my whole life’s lie.

This was the only lie I told you—the salty coffee.

Remember the first time we dated?

I was so nervous at that time; actually, I wanted some sugar, but I said salt.

It was hard for me to change, so I just went ahead.

I never thought that could be the start of our communication!

I tried to tell you the truth many times in my life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie to you for anything.

Now that I’m dying, I’m afraid of nothing, so I’ll tell you the truth: I don’t like the salty coffee, What a strange bad taste.

But I have had salty coffee for my whole life!

Since I knew you, I never felt sorry for anything I did for you.

Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life.

If I can live for the second time, I still want to know you and have you for my whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again.”

The woman was in tears, she simply couldn’t believe just how loved she had been her entire life by this man who would do anything for her.

Years after his passing, someone asked her:

A few years later, someone asked her: What’s the taste of salty coffee?

“It’s sweet.” she replied.

He played his break-through role so convincingly that women ran from him, believed he was dumb

Before making a name for himself, actor Vincent D’Onofrio earned himself a living as a nightclub bouncer, delivering flowers, hanging drapes and driving a cab. He even worked as Yul Brynner’s and Robert Plant’s bodyguard in order to support his dream of finding his place under the Hollywood sky.

After managing to land some on and off Broadway roles, and after appearing in low-budget films, Vincent was urged by friend and actor Matthew Modine to audition for Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket.

He seemed like the perfect fit for the role of Leonard, a fat, dim-witted character. However, the role came with a few conditions, one of which was gaining weight, which Vincent did. In fact, he gained around 80 pounds, which is the most an actor gained for the sake of a role. At the same time, he needed to get rid of his locks.

“[Kubrick] asked me early on would I be all right with gaining this weight and I went over there and gained about 30 pounds, and I remember him seeing it and saying that I only look like I could kick everybody’s a**. He thought some more weight would be needed.” Speaking of the role he played when he was 24, Vincent continued, “I think it went up to 80 pounds…from 200 to 280.”

The weight caused him troubles during the filming of the boot-camp scenes, but he still managed to deliver with perfection.

He was so convincing and excelled the role so beautifully, that the fans mistook him for the character he played.

“People treat you differently when you’re that size you gotta remember my head was shaved so it was like a completely different persona from me being this long lanky actor to a big burly guy with a bald head…it was a very strange life change.” The Broken Horses star continued, “It changed my life. Women didn’t look at me, most of the time I was looking at their backs as they were running away. People used to say things to me twice, because they thought I was stupid.”

Just a year after the film was released, Vincent managed to lose weight and got to his old self.

His career skyrocketed and he became a famous name in the world of film, but he says that it is all thanks to Kubrick.

“Stanley made my career, there’s no question to that I’ve done over 50 films, because of him. Because of that part.”

Among the rest, Vincent, who is now 64, played in Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001 to 2011), Marvel’s Daredevil (2015 to 2018), and the films Dying Young, The Break-Up and Jurassic World.

In 2023, the New York-born director, producer, screenwriter and actor, published the book Pigs Can’t Look Up.

Vincent’s life was greatly affected by his parents’ divorce and his mother’s marriage to George Meyer, a renowned American producer and writer.

During the 1990s, he was romantically involved with actress Greta Scacchi, with whom he shares a daughter, Leila George, who has since started an acting career herself.

Vincent and Greta starred together in the films The Player and Fires Within.

In 1997, Vincent married Duch model Carin van der Donk. The two welcomed a son in 1999, but then their relationship fell apart. They separated, but reconciled and welcomed their second son in 2008.

This year, Vincent filed for a divorce and put an end to his marriage of 26 years.

In 2021, he appeared in the film The Unforgivable, alongside Sandra Bullock. We will next see him in the soon-to-be released comedy Dumb Money.

‘Aunt Jemima’s’ great-grandson angry that her legacy is being scrapped: ‘It’s injustice to my family’

Besides being a famous brand and something many generations grew up with, Quaker Oats decided to discontinue the production of “Aunt Jemima” in light of the Black Lives Matter movement.

As expected, this decision wasn’t embraced by the customers and all those people who had started their days with the ready-mix of pancake flour for many years.

Larnell Evans Sr., a Marine Corps veteran, who claims to be the great-grandson of Anna Short Harrington, accused the corporation of trying to erase slavery after profiting off of it for years.

“The racism they talk about, using images from slavery, that comes from the other side — white people. This company profits off images of our slavery. And their answer is to erase my great-grandmother’s history. A black female. … It hurts.”

Harrington became the face of “Aunt Jemima” following the sudden passing of Nancy Green, who was hired to serve pancakes at the Chicago’s World’s Fair in 1893, the first time the “Aunt Jemima” brand name was used.

Harrington stepped into the role in 1935, after a Quaker Oats representative saw her serving pancakes at the New York State Fair and decided to make her “Aunt Jemima.”

Evans said: “She worked for that Quaker Oats for 20 years. She traveled all the way around the United States and Canada making pancakes as Aunt Jemima for them.

“This woman served all those people, and it was after slavery. She worked as Aunt Jemima. That was her job. … How do you think I feel as a black man sitting here telling you about my family history they’re trying to erase?”

Now as the brand would be retired for good, Evans showed his dissatisfaction with the corporation, claiming they’ve been able to profit off of a racial stereotype before simply moving on when it became convenient.

“How many white people were raised looking at characters like Aunt Jemima at breakfast every morning? How many white corporations made all the profits, and didn’t give us a dime?” he said.

“They’re just going to erase history like it didn’t happen? … They’re not going to give us nothing? What gives them the right?”
