Wholesome celebrities exist in the form of Keanu Reeves, one of the most grounded men the world has ever seen. The Matrix star is unlike any other Hollywood celebrity, that’s for sure. He is known for his heart of gold and all those charity projects he funds. Where there is need of help, there is Keanu. This man is so humble that he opts for a simple life, like that of the ordinary people.
It’s not a secret that he shared millions of dollars with the set and the special effects crew who worked along with him on the Matrix movies.
His generosity can’t be compared to any other, especially because he does more of his kindness secretly, without the need to be praised for it.
One of his kind deeds that we recently heard of made us love him even more, if that’s even possible. Namely, he learned of an 80 year old fan who has seen each and every movie he has ever starred in, so Keanu being Keanu, he decided to give her a call and make her day.
The heartwarming gesture was shared online by the fan’s granddaughter who thanked the actor for his heart of gold.
My grandmother had a crush on Keanu Reeves because he reminded her of my grandfather when he was young. Saw all his stuff, from Bill and Ted to the Matrix. She had a stroke in her early 70s and was pretty much housebound for the last 10 years of her life, so watching movies was her main hobby, and became almost like friends to her because she so rarely got to see any of her own.
“Not too long after the Matrix came out my uncle was in LA for business and was eating at a swanky restaurant when Keanu Reeves came in with a woman.
“When he finished his meal my uncle came up to their table and said ‘I don’t usually do this, but I just wanted you to know that my 80-year-old mother loves you and has seen all of your movies. You remind her of my dad.’
“He said Keanu asked if he had a cell phone on him and when he confirmed that he did, he said ‘Give her a call, I want to talk to her.’ He spoke with my grandmother for several minutes and it made her year. She was so isolated and his genuine kindness to her and interest in her showed what a truly amazing man he is.”
Keanu Reeves makes this world a much more beautiful place.
James Caan, the star of “The Godfather” “Elf” and “Misery,” died earlier this month. The Twitter post announcing his passing read: “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the evening of July 6. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. End of tweet.”
At the time the news spread around, the cause of death was scarce aside from the family’s statement.
According to his death certificate, Caan died at 9:02 PM at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. His resting place is at Eden Memorial Park.
It has now been revealed that the cause of death of the 82-year-old actor was a heart attack and coronary artery disease.
As the world and his fans mourned his death, a number of celebrities took to the social media to express their condolences. Among them was actor Sylvester Stallone, a great friend of Caan.
He paid tribute to Cann writing, “I will miss my good friend and great actor, James Caan! Tough, Smart, a man’s man. One of a kind!”
Some two years ago, Stallone lost his mother Jackie Stallone, an American astrologer, dancer, and wrestling promoter. She was a celeb in her own right. At the time of her death, she was 98 years old. The news of her passing was shared by Sylvester Stallone’s brother, Frank, who wrote that Jackie died in her sleep.
His ful message read, “At the beginning of today my siblings and I lost our mom Jackie Stallone. She was the mother to four youngsters, Tommy, Sylvester, Frankie and my late sister Toni Ann. She was an exceptional lady working out ordinary brimming with spirit and courageous. She kicked the bucket in her rest as she had wished. It was hard not to like her, she was unconventional and showy individual. She was conceived on November 29 th 1921 in Washington DC, she survived disallowance, the downturn and World War II.”
We are very sorry for James Caan’s passing. May he rest in peace.

Every love story is beautiful in its own way, but some are so special that they serve as a reminder that we should never stop fighting for true love.
When Mary and Jake met back in the 1940’s, interracial relationships were considered taboo. Their love for one another was considered a sin and they felt like it was the two of them against the entire world. Mary was white and Jack was black, something her parents never accepted. However, no matter the obstacles that stood on their way, the two lived to witness their love being celebrated.
Unfortunately, Jake passed away in 2019, and Mary left this world a year later. The story of their forbidden, but beautiful love, however, continues to live on.
Jake, who was from Trinidad, was serving in the United Kingdom during the WWII, and Mary was from Britain. That was when they first laid eyes on each other and fell in love instantly.
“I met Jake when he came over during the war from Trinidad, as part of the American forces stationed at the Burtonwood base near my home in Lancashire. We were at the same technical college. I was having typing and shorthand lessons and he’d been sent there for training by the Air Force. He was with a group of Black friends and they called my friend and me over to talk. We didn’t even know they spoke English, but Jake and I got chatting. He quoted Shakespeare to me, which I loved,” Mary said in a 2016 interview.
One day, Jake’s friends invited Mary and her friends to join them to a picnic and that’s when a friend of Mary’s parents spotted them. She was shocked to see Mary in the company of Jake so she rushed to tell Mary’s father about that. When he learned his daughter was hanging out with a black man, he forbade her from seeing him. The two, however, didn’t split ways.
Once the war was over, Jake was forced to return to his homeland, but he and Mary stayed in touch through letters until he came back to Britain again a few years later and popped the question. “He asked me to marry him, quite out of the blue, when I was only 19,” Mary said. “When I told my father I was going to marry Jake he said, ‘If you marry that man you will never set foot in this house again.’ He was horrified that I could contemplate marrying a Black man.”
“My father threw me out, and I left with only one small suitcase to my name. No family came to our register office wedding in 1948,” Mary added. “The first years of our marriage living in Birmingham were hell—I cried every day, and barely ate. No one would speak to us, we couldn’t find anywhere to live because no one would rent to a Black man, and we had no money.”
At the beginning, people would stare and make mean comments, but over time, things started changing. “But gradually life became easier. I got teaching jobs, ending up as a deputy headteacher. First Jake worked in a factory, then for the Post Office.”
Eventually, they made friends who accepted their relationship, but there was always fear present that they would judge them for the love they felt for one another.
“I used to say to new friends: ‘Look, I have to tell you this before I invite you to my home—my husband is Black,’” Mary said.
Before Mary’s father passed away, they reconnected, but he never approved of her marriage.
“I feel so fortunate to have met and married Mary,” said Jake “but it saddens me that we could not be accepted by society. Nowadays I say to young Black people: ‘You have no idea what it used to be like.’ When I arrived in the UK I was subjected to abuse every day. Once I was on a bus and a man rubbed his hands on my neck and said: ‘I wanted to see if the dirt would come off.’ And back then you couldn’t work in an office — because a Black man in an office with all the white girls wasn’t thought to be safe.”
In April 2019, Jake and Mary celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary. Some time later, Jake passed away, leaving his wife behind. Then, in 2020, Mary left this world as well. The two are no longer alive, but their love story continues to live on.

How far is a mother willing to go for the well-being of her child? No one can answer this with certainty because mother’s love knows no boundaries.
Recently, Nichole Schubert shared with GMA the heartbreaking decision she made to report her then 17-year-old son to the police after she stumbled upon his notebook which contained detailed plans for a mass shooting he was planning to do in 2019.
This mother’s heart was shattered into a million pieces. According to her, her son’s plan was to kill her first and then start a mass shooting at the Washington high school that he attended.
“Your first instinct as a parent is to protect your child,” she told Good Morning America. “But at that point I felt like if he is actually going to do these things, he would be safer in jail.”
Speaking of the moment she learned of her son’s gruesome plan, Nichole said, “It was very descriptive. It was just heartbreaking.”
In order to protect her son and the number of lives he intended to claim, Nichole allerted the police and asked for help.

“It wasn’t just about me and him at that point, it was about a whole school.”
This mom told the police how she believed her son’s intentions were serious because she believed he made what resembled a pipe bomb all by himself.
Her son, who initially claimed that the journal writings were a fantasy and not a real plan, was arrested and pleaded guilty to a felony charge for threatening to bomb or injure property and misdemeanors for harassment. He underwent a mental evaluation and completed a rehabilitation program and community service.
Nichole wants to raise awareness and remind every parent out there to pay close attention to their children’s actions.
“Stay in their business. Even if they don’t like it. They’re not going to like it. But as parents, it’s our job to know what our kids are doing,” she said. “Just be aware and watch for signs. Kids will normally tell you by their actions when something is wrong.”
“Obviously, we can’t control our children’s actions all the time. Who can? But there are signs that something’s not right, something’s, you know, why is he acting weird? Why? Why is he so to himself?” she continued. “I was in his room, you know? What are you doing? Where are you going? All the time. And he hated it. But he’s alive. And everyone’s alive and he’s not in jail.”
She says she doesn’t regret her decision to report her son to the authorities because that decision helped save many lives.

During the presidential campaign, after which Joe Biden was elected a new POTUS, his opponent, Donald Trump, questioned Biden’s mental state and claimed he was way too old to be able to run the country. At the same time, he bragged about scoring great results on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), a test which can show signs of mild Alzheimer’s disease, and challenged Biden to take the test.

Now, other members of the Congress are raising the question of President Biden’s age and his ability to run the country. Among them is the youngest member of Congress, North Carolina Republican Representative Madison Cawthorn. According to Yahoo, Cawthorn labeled the President as “mentally unstable” and said he should be hold accountable for “putting America in reverse.”
“You know, I would love to have a congressional inquiry to understand exactly what Joe Biden’s reasoning is, but unfortunately I don’t think he could find his way to Congress.”
Cawthorn didn’t hold back his opinion of the First Lady either saying she is “so cruel to her husband” and that she should be indicted.

“I’m not saying indict in terms of criminal, but I’m saying that we should call her out for being so cruel to her husband,” Cawthorn said.
“The man is clearly mentally unstable. He’s having some form of degradation of his mind and they are putting him up there to be assaulted by the greatest debater the country has to go against him,” Cawthorn said and claimed that President Biden isn’t the one who is truly in charge of the country.
“You know, as much as I’d love to question Joe Biden, I really want to question whoever is really calling the shots right now, because I don’t think Congress or the American people truly know who’s behind the scenes pulling the strings of Joe Biden,” he said as reported by Yahoo.

Former White House physician Ronny Jackson, who is now a Republican US representative from Texas, has also spoken his mind regarding the President’s ability to run the country. Last month, he, along with 14 other Republicans, signed a letter calling on President Biden to take a cognitive test in order to show that he’s mentally capable of leading the country.
“I think he’s demonstrating every single day that there is something going on,” Jackson said. “You don’t need to be a physician to look at this behavior and see there’s something concerning happening. I’m just asking them, when you do the physical exam, include the cognitive assessment,” he added.
“As far as I’m concerned the standard precedent has been set and they need to follow and do the same.”

The beauty standards are way too high in today’s world. Many people, especially women, feel the pressure to always look flawless, even if that means going through very strict diets, undergoing different surgical procedures, applying fillers and botox, and a lot more.
Looking at the celebrities and the models on the covers of prestigious magazines, we believe that we should look the same, often forgetting that these people have plenty of money to spare and a huge number of professionals who take care of their looks.
In recent years, some celebrities tend to promote natural beauty as a way of life as they are fed up with all the makeup, the botox, and the need to always look flawless. Among them is the Eat, Pray, Love star Julia Roberts.
Just recently, she revealed ‘the naked truth’ in a post she shared both on Facebook and Instagram, and which had been deleted shortly after because of some reason. Luckily, someone took a screenshot and now the photo is going viral.
“Perfection is a disease of a nation. We overlay our faces with tons of make-up. We get botoxs and even starve ourselves to become that perfect size. We try to fix something but you can’t fix what you can’t see. It’s the soul that needs the surgery. It’s time that we take a stand. How can you expect someone else to love you if you don’t love yourself? You have to be happy with yourself. It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. Today, I want to put up a makeup-free photo. I know I have wrinkles on my skin but today I want you to see beyond that. I want to embrace the real me and I want you to embrace who you are, the way you are, and love yourself just the way you are,” the actress wrote.
The beauty industry is getting stronger with each passing year. According to reports, the global beauty industry market is valued at $511 billion in 2021.
There’s nothing wrong with a person wanting to feel good about the way they look on the outside, but it looks like that on the way of achieving physical perfection, we forget of the importance of our inner beauty.

Actress Marnie Schulenburg, best known who for the roles of Alison Stewart on “As the World Turns” and Jo Sullivan on the “One Life to Live” reboot, has died of metastatic breast cancer. She was 37. The news was confirmed by her manager Kyle Luker.
Before she was diagnosed with cancer, in May 2020, Marnie and her husband, actor Zack Robidas, who plays on HBO’s “Succession,” welcomed their daughter Coda. Marnie first opened up about her diagnosis in December 2020 for the Soaps site and later on through her Instagram account where she documented her journey, from becoming a mom to being diagnosed, as well as her fight against the disease.
“On the eve of my 36th birthday, instead of searching for a place to drink multiple Bloody Marys (my birthdays always involve Bloody Marys, boats and lobster, not in any particular order), I was repeating the same question over and over again in my head: “How does one celebrate a birthday with a new baby in the middle of a global pandemic while coming to terms with a Stage IV, metastatic, borderline triple negative inflammatory breast cancer diagnosis?'” she wrote.
Marnie passed away on May 17 2022, just four days before what was supposed to be her 38th birthday.
As many magazines made headlines which wrote that Marnie ‘lost her battle to cancer,’ her husband Zach said he didn’t want people to say that of his late wife, because she fought hard and with grace, and she never gave up fighting.
“Please don’t say Marnie lost her battle to cancer. It’s simply not true. I watched her kick cancer’s ass everyday since diagnosis,” he said. “She is incredible. We chose to attack her diagnosis with blind optimism. We only talked about the future and continued moving forward. I don’t know if this was right but it’s all we knew how to do.”
Not long before her passing, the Daytime-Emmy nominated actress shared a bittersweet post on Instagram for Mother’s Day saying she was allowed to go home, but with an oxygen machine.
“I want to be strong and beautiful for her. I want to show her how to move throughout this world with compassion, strength, vivacity, humor and joy like my Mother showed me,” Marnie started her post.
“My chances of sticking around her better each month that goes by. So here’s to remembering that nothing is permanent. To soaking up the imperfections and that the best thing you can do for your child is make them feel loved, safe and supported just like my mother did for me. Screw the oxygen mask, just remember how to breathe.”

Boris Johnson resigned from the position of UK’s Prime Minister as one Conservative Party member after another voiced their lack of confidence in him leading the country. In his speech, Johnson said that he was “sad to be giving up the best job in the world,” but conceded that “no one is remotely indispensable” in politics. He then thanked his wife and children, the National Health Service, armed forces and Downing Street staff, but above all, he thanked the British people.
Johnson’s rule was followed by numerous scandals, including the infamous “Partygate,” where he was fined for breaking his own COVID-19 lockdown rules after attending a gathering on his birthday in June 2020. While being the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson oversaw his country’s exit from the European Union.

The boarding school changed him a lot. Jennifer confessed that she and Johnson were romantically involved and it lasted for years.

Johnson married his third wife, Carrie Johnson, who is 24 years his junior, in 2020 in a secret ceremony. They now have two children together.
What we know of Carrie is that she worked as a press officer for the Conservative Party and a Special Advisor to two Secretaries of State. She became the Head of Communications for the Conservative Party, while also working for ocean conservation charity Oceana, at the age of 29.

Giving birth is a miraculous process all by itself and every mother out there has her worries and wonders if her child would be delivered safely.
A woman from Jordan, 36-year-old Hanan Mahmoud Abdul Karim, gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The delivery took place at a private hospital in the capital of the country, Amman. She couldn’t wait to hold her bundle of joy and spend all the time by his side.
Unfortunately, shortly after she was released from hospital, she started experiencing excruciating pain. She claimed that she could feel something vibrating inside her stomach. Hanan wasn’t able to make a single move without experiencing severe pain, as reported by the Dubai daily Gulf News, which cited Jordanian media.
Hanan’s mother, Ms. Majeda Abdul Hamid, took her daughter back to the hospital where Hanan gave birth, but doctors didn’t find anything out of the ordinary. Not knowing what to do, the family took Hanan to a state hospital. When doctors did an X-ray, they were left in complete shock. Inside the mother’s stomach there was a mobile phone. According to reports, it belonged to the gynecologists who performed the C-section on Hanan.
Hanan underwent urgent surgery and the phone was taken out of her stomach.
However, the incident gathered media attention and it led to members of parliament to demand the government to step down following this outrageous scandal. They believed that the government needed to take responsibility for what was going on in the private hospitals of the country.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health indicated that the account provided by Hanan was “groundless and falsified,” but that the ministry is closely monitoring the situation.

Despite the fact that they often put their lives on the line for the well-being of the members of their community, many people still have negative opinion about the work of police officers.
Andre Owen, a Police Constable, shared a story of how his day went by not assuming it would attract the attention of thousands of people.
He was working a 12 hour shift the day he stopped to grab some lunch at Burger King. He hadn’t eaten in eight hours and didn’t even have the time to go to the toilet as his day was very busy and he had a lot on his plate. However, once he entered the restaurant and placed his order, a female customer gave him a dirty look. She then turned to him and made a remark because he was having lunch while wearing his uniform.
He didn’t expect something like that to happen but he didn’t want to answer back. Once he went home, he felt the urge to share the unpleasant incident on Twitter and explain what his day looked like before he even found the time to eat.
“To the lady that scorned me for buying food on duty,” Officer Owen started his post. “I’ve not stopped since 07:05 this morning, not even for a toilet break. I’m over 100 miles from my station and I’m due off in 45 minutes…with a two hour journey at least!!! #policearehumanstoo,” he wrote alongside a photo of his meal.
In no time, Owen’s post had gone viral. This 25-year-old officer, who has been working with the Sussex Police for five years, received outpouring messages of support.
UK Mirror then got in touch with him. Speaking to them, he explained more about his day and said that it was around 2 pm and he was about to finish working at 3 pm, but he still had a hundred mile journey before he could arrive at the station. There, he needed to finish some paperwork before he could go home.
“Five minutes after starting my shift, I was assigned to a serious job in Brighton. I dealt with that and then had yo drive non stop to Oxford as part of the same job, single crewed,” Owen told The Mirror. “Half and hour into the return journey, I stopped a ta service station for my first toilet stop of the day! While there, I also got a double whooper meal, apple pie, Coke and a cappuccino.”
It was then that the unknown lady decided to make an assumption that he wasn’t doing his job properly as she saw him having lunch while on duty.
He recalled her exact words were, “While you’re in here stuffing your face, there’s criminals that need catching out there.” He, however, just smiled and didn’t say a single word.
He then explained that his tweet in which he described what had happened wasn’t intended for sympathy. Instead, he wanted more people to realize that what officers do each and every day isn’t that easy.
On the way to the station, he stumbled upon a broken car and stopped to make sure the family inside the vehicle get the help they needed. He finally finished his shift at 7 pm.
“While it’s long, and the lady annoyed me at the time, I love my job and on the whole, wouldn’t change it for the world,” PC Andre Owen said.
We are very thankful to our police officers for everything they do on a daily basis. Without them, our communities won’t feel like the safe places they are.

Sometimes, the world we live in is a sad, sad place because everything seems to be about the way people look on the outside and not many care if the person’s character is worth all the praise. It is mainly because of magazines, TV commercials, and most recently social media sites which promote beauty standards in the form of skinny girls and models that many people, especially women, feel not worthy just because they don’t fit those standards.
Rarely do we see beyond people’s looks, and those who do are very special individuals worth to be part of our lives.
When it comes to America, a 2019 study by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) confirms the country to have the most concerning obesity statistics. The study found that nearly 40 percent of adults and 19 percent of children between the ages of 2 and 19 were obese, the highest rates ever recorded.
To be obese is an ordeal many are forced to go through and the reasons leading to that condition can be various.
The following story is one about true love. Holly and John were high school sweethearts. At one point of her life, Holly started gaining weight at a rapid speed, which raised red flags. During a doctor’s visit, it was discovered that she suffered from thyroid ailment, which caused her weight to get out of control. In just a year, Holly gained half of her initial weight before the diagnosis.
As this happened, many of John’s friends told him to leave her because she wasn’t attractive any longer. Holly was well aware of that. She herself knew that her weight could make John leave her, but that never happened. Instead, he supported her and reminded her just how much he loved her every single day.
Over the course of time, Holly’s health started to deteriorate. At one point, she experienced severe heart issues despite all the medications she was taking.
Unfortunately, she passed away shortly after. John was heartbroken. He couldn’t imagine his life without his loved one by his side.
One day, he found a letter Holly wrote for him while she was still alive. There, she wrote just how much it meant to her that he never gave up on her, despite her obesity. Alongside the touching words, she left $10,000 for him and asked him to live his life to the fullest.

A gruesome murder which took place on December 5, 1975, was probably solved thanks to DNA genealogy, a new technique that went mainstream with the 2018 arrest of the “Golden State Killer.”
A young woman, 19-year-old Lindy Sue Biechler, was found stabbed to death on the floor of her Lancaster County, Pa., apartment. Detectives described the crime scene as gruesome and hard to watch. Biechler was a newlywed and was just starting her married life when someone took her life in the worst manner possible. Her jeans was unbuttoned and she was stabbed 19 times. The groceries that she was unpacking at the time her killer entered her place were at the dinner table.
It was her aunt and uncle who came across her dead body after they paid her a visit wanting to exchange some recipes.
The police chased scores of tips, interviewed hundreds of people, presented the case to experts, but to no avail. They were short of leads and the investigation seemed to be going nowhere.
That was until many years later, when authorities decided to get back to the case and allow the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit dug into the clues. The Unit discovered that the potential killer was probably a man who knew Biechler and committed the crime in a fit of rage.
“I have prayed every single night for 30 years that there will be justice for her death,” Biechler’s mother, Eleanor Geesey, told Lancaster Online. “My God, maybe it will come.”
That day finally came thanks to the DNA genealogy. Through the thorough researcher conducted at Reston, Va.-based Parabon NanoLabs determined through DNA evidence that whoever killed Biechler probably had ancestors from a small Italian town called Gasperina. 68-year-old Pennsylvania man, David Sinopoli, was flagged a person of interest. It appeared that he lived near the victim around the year 1974 and was of Italian origin.
It was in February 2022, when authorities closely followed Sinopoli while he had coffee with his wife at Philadelphia International Airport’s Terminal A waiting for a flight. Once he threw the cup of coffee in the trash, detectives retrieved it. The DNA from the cup and that found on Biechler’s underwear was a match.
After almost five decades, Biechler’s potential killer was arrested. Sinopoli was taken into custody and was being held without bail.
“This case was solved with the use of DNA and, specifically, DNA genealogy,” Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams said during a Monday news conference. “And quite honestly, without that, I don’t know that we would have ever solved it.
“The reality is that David Sinopoli was not on our radar.”
Thankfully, the justice will be finally served.
“Lindy Sue Biechler was 19 when her life was brutally taken away from her 46 years ago in the sanctity of her own home,” Adams said. “The arrest of David Sinopoli marks the beginning of the court process. And we hope that it brings some sense of relief to the victim’s loved ones and to the community, who for the past 46 years have had no answers.”

When it comes to women and their place in politics, many hold the opinion that they are nowhere near as good as their male counterparts. Luckily, there are women out there who help undermine this belief, among which, Condoleezza Rice, the first Black woman to serve as the United States’ National Security Adviser and a former United States Secretary of State under George W. Bush.
Rice was brought up in the segregated South, which meant her life wasn’t truly an easy one when it came to the society she belonged to. But her parents did all in their power to provide for her the best life possible. Their love and trust that she would some day achieve great things was something that inspired and encouraged her throughout her life. Their influence on the way her personality shaped was immense.
“I was fortunate in that I had extraordinary parents. [I] wrote a book about them. My mother was a teacher and my father was a high-school guidance counselor. They absolutely believed that I could do anything,” she explained.
“They provided every opportunity to me that they could afford — and some that they couldn’t afford. In [our] little town of segregated Alabama, they made it clear that your fate is in your own hands — that you had to work twice as hard. And as a matter of fact, I did not feel any boundaries. I believed that my horizons had no limits.”

In her autobiography Extraordinary, Ordinary People, which is also a homage to her parents, Rice described how her parents always stood up for her. During an occasion, when she was still a child, Santa Clause wouldn’t take her in his lap because she was black. All of the black children were forced to stand on one side.
“If he does that to Condoleezza,” her father reportedly told Rice’s mother, “I’m going to pull all of that stuff off him and expose him as just another cracker.”
Rice was an excellent student. She attended classes at the University of Denver and high school simultaneously at age 15. In 1974, Rice earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Denver. A year later, she received her master’s from the University of Notre Dame, and in 1981, she got her Ph.D. from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of International Studies.

At the time she earned her Ph.D., Rice became a political science professor at Stanford University in California and started her political career, first as a democrat and some time later as “an all-over-the-map Republican.”
In the year of 1989, she became director of Soviet and East European affairs with the National Security Council and held a position as a special assistant to President George H.W. Bush when the Soviet Union dissolved.
In 2001, Condoleezza Rice was appointed U.S. National Security Advisor by President George W. Bush. She was the first woman ever to hold that position.

After spending years in Washington, Rice eventually settled back in California where she started working as a political science professor at the Hoover Institution.
“I think my father thought I might be President of the United States. I think he would’ve been satisfied with Secretary of State. I’m a foreign policy person, and to have a chance to serve my country as the nation’s chief diplomat at a time of peril and consequence, that was enough,” she said at the 2012 Republican National Convention where she announced she was stepping down from politics.
Although she’s not into politics any longer, she has her hands full. Rice is the founding partner at RiceHadleyGates, LLC, an international strategic consulting firm based in Silicon Valley and Washington and has just joined the incoming ownership group for the Denver Broncos NFL team.

When it comes to her private life, she never married and doesn’t have children. Asked why she never tied the knot, Rice says it is because she never found someone she could imagine spending her life with. In her memoir, she denied being gay, something people claimed, and says the rumor came from the fact that societies don’t easily accept when a woman simply decides not to marry.
“The simplest explanation, which is I actually never met anybody I wanted to live with and marry, doesn’t seem to be sufficient for people,” Rice explained.
“I don’t feel unfulfilled it didn’t happen. And I have always believed it is better to not have ended up in a bad marriage, which has happened to a lot of my friends who have just wanted to get married.”

As of the children she never had, she wrote in her book The Faith of Condoleezza Rice, “You mean, did I ever want kids? No. I think maybe it’s because I’m an only child. I like children, but especially when they’re 18.
“I didn’t start out not to get married and have children. I don’t regret that I couldn’t pass on some of my genes, which sounds so incredibly narcissistic, but that I couldn’t pass on some of the opportunities.”
Condoleezza Rice achieved many great things in her life despite the obstacles the society imposed on her. She truly is a great role model to many.

It was March 2020 when a woman named Valerie Paters was ‘smashed’ by a semi-truck. Her car went under the heavy vehicle and she sustained severe injuries. When first responder arrived at the scene, they were certain Valerie wouldn’t survive.
Once at the hospital, her family was told that the chances of Valerie’s survival were slim. They didn’t have high hopes. Sometime later, they said that Valerie didn’t show any brain activity.
At the time doctors fought for her life, the members of the church she attended, together with her family, united in prayer.

Valerie’s sister, Cheryl, never lost hope. Instead, she turned to God and asked him to help her sister pull through. Cheryl claimed Psalm 118:17 in the Scripture for her sister, where it said, “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.” Little did she know is that her prayer would work in a miraculous way.
As her loved ones on Earth were waiting for her to recover, Valerie went through a heavenly experience. According to her, she went to Heaven, describing it as with a blinding light.
Once she opened her eyes, this woman said that it was Jesus himself who welcomed her to Heaven while he was smiling at her.
“I felt all this emotion that He had for me,” she recalled. “I felt like I was finally home… like I stepped into, finally, I belong.”

“He just wants me,” she said of Jesus. “It wasn’t anything that I did for Him. It wasn’t my performance. Nothing. It was just me, I wasn’t just loved by Him. But He was in love with me.”
Valerie’s words stunned everyone. She even explained what happened when Jesus told her to go back to Earth.

Richard Anthony Jones led a quiet life in Missouri, but it all changed when he was arrested one day and charged with an aggravated robbery, a crime he claimed he had nothing to do with.
There was nothing this man didn’t do in order to prove his innocence, but somehow, because of all the circumstances, he failed each time. According to him, at the time the robbery was done, Richard was at his girlfriend’s place together with other people. They all witnessed that Richard had spent the entire night with them, but that didn’t help.
Eventually, after a witness confirmed it was Richard who commited the crime, with no fingerprints or physical evidence found at the scene, he was sentenced to 19 years in prison. It was the year 1999 when Richard started serving his sentence at a prison with highest level of security.
Jones appealed and lost. Then he learned about the Midwest Innocence Project, which partners with the University of Kansas’ Project for Innocence.
Those involved with the project did a thorough research and they finally learned of a man named Ricky Lee Amos who looked exactly like Jones. One would assume they are twins when looking at side-by-side photos of the two.
It was discovered that Amos lived at the address where the crime was reported to had happened, and that made everyone even more suspicious.
When mugshots of both Jones and Amos were shown to the eyewitness after all those years, they were unable to say with certainty that Jones was the robber.
This resulted with the judge tossing out Jones’ conviction. He was freed from prison on June 8, 2017. “I hoped and prayed every day for this day to come, and when it finally got here it was an overwhelming feeling,” Jones told ABC News.
Jones’ case was the first to be resolved under a new mistaken-conviction statute that went into effect earlier in 2018, according to the attorney general’s office.
“We are committed to faithfully administering the new mistaken-conviction statute the legislature enacted,” the attorney general’s office statement read. “In this case, it was possible on the existing record to resolve all issues quickly, satisfy all of the statute’s requirements, and agree to this outcome so Mr. Jones can receive the benefits to which he is entitled by law because he was mistakenly convicted.”
For being wrongfully convicted, Jones received $1.1 million.

R&B singer R. Kelly was found guilty of multiple federal charges including racketeering and sex trafficking and was sentenced to 30 years in prison. Survivors of Kelly’s abuse held hands and prayed as US District Court Judge Ann Donnelly began reading his sentence.
Among them were victims who were only identified as “Jane Does.”
“You made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel. Do you remember that,” one of the victims’ statement read, according to Billboard.
“I remember him asking me my age,” another victim, Stephanie, testified. “When I said I was 17, he said it was fine.” She went on to recall Kelly sexually abusing her in the studio and recording it. On her 18th birthday, the two met yet again after he paid to have her fly out to see him. “She described fearing his angry outbursts, saying he would yell at her in public places,” as a result, she stopped communicating with the R&B singer.

When Kelly married now late wife Aaliyah back in 1994, he was 27 and she was only 15, but he paid someone to create a fake ID which showed Aaliyah was 18 at the time.
While he was awaiting his trial, Kelly was held at the Chicago’s Metropolitan Correctional Center.
On August 26, an incident report from the US Bureau of Prisons showed Kelly was ambushed by gang member Jeremiah Shane Farmer as he slept on the bottom bunk of his prison cell. Farmer apparently started stomping on the singer’s head repeatedly, according to the document Kelly’s attorney Steven Greenberg filed to get his client released on bail at the time of the incident.
“This is an inmate that never should have been anywhere near Mr. Kelly, an individual who is charged with the most violent of crimes, and one who plainly has no respect for the rules, he has the phrase ‘Fuck The Feds’ tattooed on his face. Extravagant gifts rappers have given rappers,” Kelly’s attorney said.
The attorneys further claimed that a footage from the beating showed that the attacker was able to ‘roam a great distance’ away from the guards and “no one at the MCC raised a finger to stop Mr. Farmer from attacking Mr. Kelly until after Mr. Farmer was well into beating.”

Later, according to court documents obtained by The Chicago Tribune, it was reported that Farmer was ‘forced’ to attack Kelly “in hopes of getting spotlight attention and world news notice to shed light on the government corruption.”
According to Kelly’s attorney, “It appears that MCC personnel simply followed Mr. Farmer, allowed him to carry out the attack, and then only intervened after Mr. Kelly had already sustained serious injuries.”
Although found guilty of all charges, Kelly has always maintained his innocence. During the reading of his verdict, the singer appeared to have no reaction after receiving the sentence.

Céline Dion‘s close family and friends reported that the singer is experiencing severe health issues which forced her to postpone her tour. According to a source cited by Here Magazine, she is no longer able to walk due to “severe and persistent muscle spasms” that have recently worsened.
“She can no longer get out of bed, nor move, nor walk. She suffers from pain in her legs and feet that paralyze her. She is very weak and has lost a lot of weight,” the source said. “It’s a disease that can require long convalescence. If things don’t improve, she could be away for several months or even a year. Because her symptoms are more worrying than expected.”
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the singer herself wrote: “My heart is broken by this situation. My team and I have been working on our new show for eight months and not being able to take the stage in November saddens me beyond words.”

The Canadian superstar’s tour, Courage, was a huge success in September 2019, but in January 2022, she canceled the remaining North American dates due to the persistent muscle spasm she has been experiencing for some time now. This time, she informed her fans that her progress with treating her condition is taking longer than expected. “The good news is that I am doing a little bit better…but it’s going very slow. And it’s very frustrating for me. You know I’m getting treatment from my doctors, taking medication, but I’m still experiencing some spasms, and it’s taking a lot longer for me to recover than I had hoped,” she said.
The Grammy Award winner ended her post by sending support to Ukraine and its people.

After the health issues she experienced, Dion announced that her tour would begin in May 2022, but the shows have now been pushed back to February 2023. At the same time, she delayed her Las Vegas residency.
Ever since the passing of her husband, fans have been worried for Dion, who is way skinnier than a normal person should be. According to reports, the superstar only weighs around 85 pounds. In the past, she didn’t pay much attention to the negative comments and claimed she loved the way she looks. However, her appearance did concern many.

Traveling by plane can be exhausting. Starting from the crowd at the airport, the long queues at the security checkup, to all those people rushing and running around, it isn’t always a nice experience. So, once we are on the plane we hope we get some time to rest. But that’s not always possible, especially when there are young children and babies on the flight who wouldn’t stop screaming, running, and yelling.
A Reddit user that goes by the name Poem170 shares an unpleasant experience and asks fellow users if he acted in the right manner when he tried to teach a misbehaving child and his mom a lesson.
Namely, this person booked a seat by the window as he was looking forward to enjoy the sight. However, once a woman and her child sat next to him, she asked him if he could switch seats with her son. Not wanting to do that, Poem170 said ‘no.’ The mom got nervous because his response triggered her son to throw a tantrum. The boy started screaming and crying, but the man didn’t feel like it was his fault. He tried not to react and kept his head cool the entire time.
The first incident happened, when the mom asked if I would trade seats so her child could look out. I declined and said I would rather sit in the seat I paid for…the man wrote.

Later on, as he got bored from watching a series, Poem170 took his phone out and started playing a game. “A few hours later, I was playing a game on my phone and the child was very focused on it, but then as everyone here probably know you get tired of mobile games, so I turned it off.”
As he put his phone away, the child got angry. The mother then turned to Poem170 and demanded he continue playing the game on his phone because her son found it entertaining. The man said ‘no’ once again and the same situation as before repeated itself. The boy wouldn’t calm down no matter what.
He didn’t really feel like it was his job to entertain someone else’s child, but the mother insisted he was selfish and called him an a**hole as her son was trying to grab the man’s phone.
I just simply raised my hand so the child couldn’t reach, so I said in a louder tone, “please control your child” which made the mom grab the boy and freak out at me and her screaming at me that I shouldn’t be such an asshole and only think about me.
He now asks fellow Reddit users to tell him if he was right or he was indeed selfish as that boy’s mother claimed.
Most of the people who reacted to his post said he did just the right thing and that he didn’t need to feel bad about the whole thing.

When Jono Lancaster was born, his parents made a decision not to take him home from the hospital. The syndrom he was diagnosed with, Treacher Collins syndrome, a rare disorder that affects the facial structure and hearing abilities, was the reason they weren’t able to love him. Having the syndrome meant plenty of hospital visits and probably surgeries, and they weren’t willing to go through such an experience.
Sadly, Jono was just a few days old when he was forever abandoned by those who were supposed to love him unconditionally.
In the days that followed, social services did all in their power to find a suitable family for him. Luckily, an angel in the form of a loving and caring woman named Jean crossed paths with Jono. The moment she laid eyes on him, she knew he belonged with her. “How could you not love a child?” she said after hearing his story. “When can I take him home?” was the next question she asked.
Jono first shared his life story with the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) Breakthrough Summit back in 2015 and gathered the attention of many.
“I was born with a genetic condition that affects my facial features. I have no cheekbones, and so my eyes dip down,” he said. “I love my little ears, they don’t get cold at night. But I do need hearing aids. I’m one of the lucky ones. More severely affected individuals need help with feeding and breathing. I met some kids who’ve had more than 70 surgeries to correct problems that would make their lives easier.”
Speaking of Jene, the woman who provided him with a loving home, Jono says:
“Jean adopted me on May 18, 1990 – so I get two birthdays!” he said. “I used to tell other kids that my mom went to the hospital and she looked at all the babies and she chose me, whereas their parents had been stuck with them.”
Jean tried to get in touch with Jono’s birth parents multiple times, but each attempt ended with the same response from their side; they didn’t want to have anything with him, not even meet him.
Most of his life, Jono, who is now 36, experienced every form of bullying because of his looks.
“When I became a teen, I began to think, why me? That snowballed into thinking about my birth parents. Parents are supposed to love you no matter what, even if you rob a bank. How would I ever have a family? Who will want me?” he said. “I started to hate my face. I became aggravated at not being able to change the way I looked.I avoided looking at my reflection, even in windows walking down the street. I was ashamed of the way I looked.”
But then something happened that helped him regain his self-confidence.
While he worked as a bartender, everyone stared at him and commented on the way he looked. But one day, a ‘skinhead’ customer who appeared fierce and had ‘muscles on top of muscles‘ entered the place. No one wanted to serve him, but then Jono stepped in. “Before you get my drink, I have a question. What’s up with your face?” the man said.
“I was born with Treacher Collins syndrome.” The man responded with “all right.” Then Jono added, “I’m deaf,” and showed him his hearing aids. “Do they come with an off switch?” the man asked. “Damn, you’re lucky. I have a wife and all she does is talk 24/7, and to be able to switch her yakking off…”
For the first time in a while, someone laughed with Jono instead at him. That reminded him that he needed to “focus on the good.”
Today, he has a partner and works as a motivational speaker. Jono makes sure he spends time with young children who have the same syndrome as him and helps them accept themselves the way they are.
“So what’s changed?” he said. “People are still the same. My parents still want nothing to do with me. What’s changed is my attitude, and that’s so powerful. Instead of allowing negative energy to bring me down, I believe in myself. I wouldn’t change any of it. My attitude was more disabling than anything. With the right attitude, you can achieve anything.”

Very often, we speak of the profound impact adoption has on the life of the animals whose neglectful owners leave at shelters. However, our words are pale in comparison to witnessing first hand the joy these creatures feel the moment they get adopted.
Going from a tiny kennel to a comfy home surrounded by people who care is priceless. Luckily, those animals who are adopted are given the chance to experience this sort of unbridled happiness.
When Maveric, a gorgeous German Shepherd, was left behind by his family, he ended up at the Cаrsоn Animаl Shеltеr in Gаrdеn, Cаlifоrniа. The poor soul was so confused that he never looked a single person in the eye. Instead, he spent his days staring at the floor of his kennel. Devastated and heartbroken, Maveric couldn’t realize what was going on. From having a loving home, he was now surrounded by people whom he had never seen before.
One day, a family visited the shelter. Upon hearing Maveric’s story, they decided to give him a home again.
However, when the time came for him to leave the shelter, this sweet dog was trembling with fear. He was uncertain where he was going. He probably thought he was in trouble and was untrustworthy.
However, as he received many pets on the head and a new leash, he somehow knew he was wrong.
Once at the parking lot, he realized those people were there to rescue him and give him a new life. In the moments that followed, Maveric sat at the back seat of the truck. All of a sudden, his fear faded away. He felt safe once again.
Maverick never knew what future held for him until finally the day of his adoption came.

Losing a child is something no parent should ever experience. Unfortunately, many moms and dads out there are forced to live with the pain and the grief of not having their child around any longer.
One mother named Amber Scholfield, who lost her five-year-old boy Charlie Proctor to cancer, documented her son’s journey in an attempt to raise enough money in order to save his precious life. Heartbreakingly, she failed to do so, and her little one left this world after a long and difficult battle with liver cancer.
Charlie was diagnosed with Hepatoblastoma, a rare and aggressive liver tumor that develops in only 10 to 15 children every year in the United Kingdom. Because it’s pretty rare, not much research has been done on how to treat it the best. As a result, the chances of survival are low. However, with the advance of medicine, the statistic improve.

The transplant Charlie was about to undergo cost roughly £855,580. His mom and dad were only able to raise half of that amount.
In an effort to raise the money, mom Amber documented Charlie’s journey on Facebook. The page, Charlie’s Chapter, gathered around 40K followers. That, along with the GoFundMe page the family set up, helped raise over £359,000.
In her final post about her boy’s fight with the evil disease, the heartbroken mother wrote:
“This will be the last photo I post of Charlie. As the days go by he deteriorates more and more. He no longer looks like Charlie. He’s so thin, I can see and feel every bone in his tiny body, his sunken face, his rolling eyes. Where has my chunky baby gone. Chunky from birth! He weighed 9’11lb! He’s was the cuddliest baby ever! He’s our chunk. I want everyone to remember Charlie for who he is. I want them to remember how he looked, how cheeky he was, how hilarious, how grumpy he was because right now Charlie isn’t any of those. He’s sad, he’s tired, he’s fed up and depressed. “I don’t know what to do anymore” are his main words.. today, he’s been very agitated, wanting to lay down, sit up, lay in bed, then on the beanbag, then on the sofa, then back upstairs and so on… charlie, at one point, turned to me and said in the most quiet, panting voice, ”Mummy, I’m so sorry for this” he was sorry because he wanted to move again and he felt he had to apologise for that? So now I know he also feels like he’s some what “in the way”. My heart broke! No child should feel the emotions Charlie is feeling. No Child! No parent should watch their child slowly go. Having to watch them deteriorate in this way is the most painful thing anyone will ever feel. If Charlie’s fate is to go, then I’d of rather the angels took him weeks ago before he suffered anymore. His AFP is that high now that the machine can no longer read them. His liver function are the same apart from his Bilirubin, which has doubled causing Charlie’s skin colour to be yellow. After this, with every update, I will share photos of Charlie in his better days.
How can I miss him so much when he’s led beside me? But I do. I miss him. I miss just having a chat, a cuddle that doesn’t cause pain. I miss squeezing him and kissing him all over. I miss his smile, knowing I won’t see that smile again other than in pictures, I will never hear charlie laugh again please pray for a miracle hold your babies tight and cuddle and kiss them so much. You don’t realise how lucky you are. We all take life for granted. “
Unfortunately, Charlie’s body couldn’t fight any longer. He died in his mother’s embrace.
“Last night at 23:14 my best friend, my world, Charlie, took his final breath.
‘He fell asleep peacefully cuddled in my arms with daddy’s arms wrapped around us. Our hearts are aching. The world has lost an incredible little boy.
Charlie, you gave me chance to be a mum. You have been, not only our biggest inspiration but you have been an inspiration to thousands of people all over the world.

This time, a very cute little person stole the audiences’ hearts. Celine Tam is a 9-year-old girl who possesses a very powerful voice. Her lovely smile and sweet outfit along with her incredible talent made the crowd erupt in enthusiastic cheering and applause as she let her voice loose choosing to perform Celine Dion’s famous song “My Heart Will Go On.”

This girl’s talent was first discovered by her parents. One day, while traveling by car, Celine Dion’s song came on the radio and little Celine started singing along. It was a very special experience as mom and dad became aware that music will be important part of their daughter’s life.
The most interesting part of this whole story is that Celine Dion is this family’s favorite singer. They not only love her as one would love a celebrity, but their affection goes to the extent that little Celine was actually named after the famous singer and now she’s even following into her namesake’s footsteps. As for their youngest daughter, she got the name Dionne.

Little Celine’s parents did their best to provide their daughter with every resource she needed to truly thrive. Seeing her performing in front of the AGT judges they know all their effort paid off.
So young and yet possessing so mature vocal abilities, Celine Tam knows what she wants from her life. Having her supportive parents by her side, she is determined to pursue a career in music and secure her spot under the sky full of stars. This sweet little lady will shine brightest if she continues nurturing her talent in the years to come.

Being different, in one way or another, should be something to embrace, because it is the differences that make this world a beautifully diverse place. Sadly, this isn’t always the case. It is in the human’s nature to treat differences in manners that cause pain and bad feelings. Instead of acceptance, people who suffer from different conditions and somehow don’t fit in what many consider ‘normal,’ are offered rejection. This is something that needs to change, but it would probably take a lot more years for that to happen.
This is the story of a 22-year-old New Yorker named Jonathan Novick who has dwarfism. He was diagnosed with the condition when he was still very young. Achondroplasia, what Jonathan has, is a genetic condition affecting a protein in the body called the fibroblast growth factor receptor. In achondroplasia, this protein begins to function abnormally, slowing down the growth of bone in the cartilage of the growth plate, as described by Hopkins Medicine.
His life was a pretty normal one and most of the people he knew accepted him the way he is. Sadly, once he moved to New York everything changed.
All of a sudden, he experienced what it felt like to be constantly mocked and stared at. Perfect strangers called him names such as ‘midget,’ ‘short stuff,’ and a lot more.
In order to expose the harsh reality and the struggles of people like him, who are different than the rest, he decided to make a film titled “Don’t Look Down on Me” using a hidden camera. “I wanted to stop telling people what happened to me. I wanted to show people what happened to me,” he says.
Jonathan’s story is truly eye-opening.

Aaron Beck from Virginia was described as a loving father. His 18-month-old son menat the world to him. But one day, a tragedy struck. Something no one who knew Aaron could thought can ever happen.
During a hot day, when the temperatures were pretty high, Aaron somehow forgot his son inside the very hot car. No one knew exactly how much time had passed until Aaron realized his mistake. Unfortunately, it was too late. The damage was done. His sweet son was dead.
Not able to cope with the pain, Aaron took his own life that same day.
When police officers arrived at Aaron’s home, they noticed that the door of his car was wide open and the child’s seat was empty. Inside the house, they found the boy’s lifeless body. The body of Aaron was located in the woods behind the house.
Aaron’s family and friends spoke of him as of “generous, gentle, kind, and soft with his son. He was a draughtsman by trade. His unconditional affection was a tribute to the potential of parenting and the human heart.”
The GoFundMe page set to help the family during those times of grief said: “Tuesday morning, a father and child were suddenly taken from my dear friend in a tragedy. This cannot be thoroughly planned, even while some expenses are covered. To relieve some of her financial strain, this GoFundMe has been established. I sincerely appreciate your support during this unfathomable loss.”
Chesterfield County Officer Chris Hensley offered his condolences and said, “This is a horrific tragedy on so many levels, and our hearts go out to the family and friends who will have to deal with this.”
