Famous women who never got married

Most people dream of finding that one person who would make their world complete and who they would spend their eternity with. However, there are also those who don’t feel like committing and who decide marriage is not their thing.

Below is a list of celebrities who never tied the knot.

Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle found fame the moment she took the stage of Britain’s Got Talent in 2009. What makes this incredible singer a much-loved celebrity isn’t just her out-of-this-world talent for singing which captured the hearts of millions of fans almost overnight, but also the fact that she remained humble and grounded despite the fame she gained and the millions she made.

When she appeared on the show, Boyle revealed that she had never been involved in a relationship and that she had never kissed a guy. That, however, changed in 2014 when she found love. She, however, isn’t married.

Dana Delany

Delany had her breakthrough with the role of Colleen McMurphy on the ABC television drama China Beach (1988–1991), for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 1989 and 1992. She went on to play other significant roles, including those in Desperate Housewives, Body of Proof, Hand of God and a lot more. Among the rest, she’s also a well-known voice actress.

In a 2006 interview, Delany said that she has been hesitant about tying the knot, adding that she hasn’t met the right one.

Mindy Kaling

Kaling is an American television actress, comedian, screenwriter and producer who first gained recognition starring as Kelly Kapoor in the NBC sitcom The Office (2005–2013), for which she also served as a writer, executive producer, and director.

She is a mother of two, a son and a daughter, but the identity of her children’s fathers is unknown as she is not married. In the past, she was said to had dated B. J. Novak, whom she met through writing for The Office. He is the godfather to both her children.

Anita Hill

Hill is a professor of social policy, law, and women’s studies at Brandeis University and a faculty member of the university’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management. The country learned of this courageous woman when she accused U.S. Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas, her supervisor at the United States Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, of sexual harassment.

Hill, who is 66, has a long-time partner but their relationship is uncommon as they prefer not to live together and they have never tied the knot. She says she isn’t against marriage but that she hasn’t made up her mind for something like that.

Greta Garbo

Great Greta Garbo never married, had no children, and lived alone as an adult. This Swedish-American actress is considered one of the greatest there are. Her career started with the 1924 Swedish film The Saga of Gösta Berling, after which she caught the attention of Louis B. Mayer, chief executive of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), who brought her to Hollywood in 1925.

The most famous and most significant romance she was involved in was that with her frequent co-star John Gilbert, with whom she lived intermittently in 1926 and 1927.

Allegedly, the two were set to get married, but she left him at the altar.

Diane Keaton

Over the years, Keaton has been involved in several relationships. Among the rest, she dated director Woody Allen during her role in the 1969 Broadway production of Play It Again, Sam. Later, she had on-again, off-again relationship with Al Pacino, and dated Warren Beatty, but she never married.

Speaking of it, she said in a 2010 interview, “I don’t think that because I’m not married it’s made my life any less. That old maid myth is garbage.” At the age of 50, Keaton became a mother after she adopted her two children. “Motherhood has completely changed me. It’s just about like the most completely humbling experience that I’ve ever had.”

Coco Chanel

Coco Chanel, the fashion designer who changed the course of women’s fashion and is known for her timeless designs, trademark suits and little black dresses, believed that she didn’t need a man to make her happy. She never got married but rumors are she was the mistress of a lot of successful businessmen, models, and celebrities.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah has been together with the love of her life, Stedman Graham, for over 30 years, but the two never married. In fact, he proposed to her when he called on her show back in 1987 and said, “I want you to marry me. I think it’s time.” She said yes, and the two even planned a wedding but then decided to not tie the knot. In fact, she believes one of the reasons they are still together is that they never married.

“No question about it — we would not stay married, because of what that would have meant to him, and I would have had my own ideas about it. I have not had one regret about that,” she told Yahoo.

The couple doesn’t have any children. It’s not that they didn’t want to become parents, but Oprah believed that being a mother asks for the ultimate sacrifice and she holds mothers in the “highest regard.”

What do you think of these successful women and their decision to not get married?

Morgan Freeman spotted wearing glove on left hand at the Oscars – the reason why is heartbreaking

Among the rest, the 2023 Oscars will definitely be remembered by the big winner Everything Everywhere All at Once, which received seven awards on a landmark night.

The list of attendees consisted of a number of legendary actors, including Morgan Freeman and Margot Robbie who walked the stage together to commemorate Warner Bros.’ 100th anniversary.

As always, Robbie looked stunning, and Freeman was certainly dressed for the occasion, wearing a dapper black tuxedo and rocking a fresh new bald hairstyle. However, what many people noticed was the black glove on his left hand. And as those unaware of the real reason for it believed it was just a stylistic preference, Freeman’s fans knew the actor was wearing the glove because of the bad accident he was involved in years ago.

Namely, back in 2008, Freeman injured his arm while driving home late one night when his car veered off the road and flipped several times before coming to an eventual stop in a ditch.

Paramedics arrived quickly and he was conscious but needed to be transferred to a Memphis hospital located over 100 miles away from the scene of the crash.

Freeman ended up with a couple of broken ribs and was forced to undergo a four-hour long surgery for his hand.

Though he mostly recovered, the Shawshank Redemption star was left with a lasting physical nerve damage in his left hand known as fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, his arm was left paralyzed.

Back in 2010, two years after the accident, Freeman spoke to People magazine and shared how he never fully recovered from the injury. “If you don’t move your hand, it will swell up,” he explained. “Do you know you move your hand about a million times a day?”

Ever since the accident, he needs to wear a compression glove to keep the symptoms in check. Back in 2022, the actor was also spotted wearing a similar compression glove during the opening ceremony FIFA Qatar World Cup.

Jenna Bush Hager says husband saved a choking woman’s life

Besides being known as the daughter of former President Josh Bush, Jenna Welch Bush Hager is also an American news personality, author, and journalist. She is the co-host of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the fourth hour of NBC’s morning news program Today.

During an episode of the show, Jenna revealed that she, her husband Henry Chase Hager, and her mother-in-law were out in a restaurant when they noticed that a woman started chocking. Thankfully, quick-thinking Henry jumped into action, Jenna told co-host Hoda Kotb.

“He gets up, he runs over, and he gives a woman the Heimlich maneuver,” she explained. “It felt like it was ten minutes,” Jenna elaborated. “Being on this show, I knew what to do. ‘Someone call 911!’”

Instagram (@jennabhager)

As he was performing the Heimlich maneuver, Henry was devastated that the woman in question couldn’t take breath, but then paramedics arrived and saved her.

“The Heimlich, how did he know how to do that or what to do?” Hoda asked about Jenna’s husband.

“Well, he was a Boy Scout,” Jenna said laughing and explained how her husband wasn’t just a Boy Scout but an Eagle Scout as well. When people approached Henry after the incident was over, and asked him whether he was a doctor, he answered, “No, I’m an Eagle Scout.”

Instagram (@jennabhager)

Jenna then shared that her father, Josh Bush, once saved a choking woman during a speech at an event where meals were served. She revealed that once he noticed the woman in trouble, Bush “jumped off the podium. Because he’s the only one who has the view of her.” Jenna claimed her father saved that woman’s life.

Instagram (@georgebush)

Hoda said that it was amazing that the two most important men in Jenna’s life saved two different women from chocking.

Sadly, chocking deaths are fairly common so we always need to be careful.

Sir Elton John is in our thoughts and prayers

It goes without saying that Sir Elton John is one of the greatest and most influential musicians in the world of music.

His career spans many decades. Throughout the years, he has treated the world with music pieces which seem to become more and more popular as time passes by.

He is one of those superstars who took the world by storm and has remained on the pedestal for a very long time.

Elton’s love for music started when he was very young. At the age of just 4, he learned how to play the piano and knew that music was his calling.

“As a child, I got approval and love when I sang at family gatherings or weddings, and I felt safe and happy. Then I came off stage and, again, I had to deal with what was going on in my life,” the singer told CBC.

At the age of 17, Elton started performing with a group named Bluesology, and in 1967, he met the man who became his best friend for life and with whom he achieved great things and reached for the stars. The first ever encounter between Elton and the person behind almost all of his songs, Bernie Taupin, happened when they both saw an ad in a local newspaper for Liberty Records.

Bernie was the perfect lyrics writer, and Elton was the best at making music, so they made the perfect match.

Iconic Crocodile RockIsland GirlBennie and the JetsGoodbye Yellow Brick RoadDon’t Let The Sun Go Down On MeNikitaI Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues and Candle In The Wind, among the rest, are just some of the songs the two worked on together. Pure magic, one would say!

Just a single look at Sir Elton John and husband David Furnish will convince you that you are witnessing one of the best love stories in the world of celebrities. The two met some 27 years ago and are going strong as day one.

The two share two sons together, Zachary and Elijah.

His family is the reason why he decided to slow things down after the devastating prostate cancer diagnosis he received in 2017. In order to prevent his cancer from spreading any further, the famous singer and performer oped surgery over chemo treatments. Once known for working at a 120-show-per-year pace, John said he found himself “24 hours from death,” and that forced him to reconsider his priorities in life.

“Effectively my kids made the decision for me. I didn’t like the idea of cancer hanging over me—us—for years to come: I just wanted rid of it,” he wrote in his 2019 memoir, simply titled Me.

Sadly, some ten days after the surgery, he began to develop agonizing pain resulting from a complication with his lymph nodes which caused them to leak fluids, as reported by Yahoo. He was on and off hospital for around two and a half months before doctors accidentally cured him. “A routine colonoscopy shifted the fluid permanently, days before my 70th birthday,” John wrote in his book, which was serialized in The Daily Mail.

Sadly, as he thought his troubles were over, he contracted a major infection in South America and was close to death.

“In a strange way, it felt like the time I spent recuperating was the answer to my prayers: if you want more time, you need to learn to live like this, you have to slow down,” the singer said. “It was like being shown a different life, a life I realized I loved more than being on the road,” John added. This made him make a decision to stop touring. “I want to be there for all of it,” he said of spending time with his sons.

We wish Elton John and his family only the best life brings.

Camilla’s decision for her grandchildren might ’cause anger’, royal experts warn

In less than two months time, a very special event will take place on the grounds of Britain. After more than 70 years, the nation would witness a coronation when Charles would officially be crowned a King.

However, besides Charles, his wife Camilla will also be given a new, more significant role, that of Queen Consort.

The much-awaited coronation is set to take place on May 6, which happens to be the birth date of Archie, Harry and Meghan’s son.

When late Queen Elizabeth was crowned in 1954, over 8,000 guests were in attendance at the coronation, and 129 nations were officially represented. King Charles is now allegedly planning to significantly reduce that number on his coronation, according to reports.

The coronation, which is given the code-name “Operation Golden Orb,” will take place at Westminster Abbey, conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

The statement regarding this special event Britain hasn’t seen since June 2, 1953, when Queen Elizabeth became the head of monarchy, states that King Charles’ coronation “will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in longstanding traditions and pageantry.”

Further, the statement reads that “The Coronation is a solemn religious service, together with an occasion for celebration and pageantry.

“Across the Coronation Weekend, there will be further opportunities for people to come together in celebration of the historic occasion. On Sunday, May 7 2023, a special Coronation Concert will be staged and broadcast live at Windsor Castle by the BBC and BBC Studios, with several thousand pairs of tickets to be made available via public ballot,” Buckingham Palace added.

“The Coronation Big Lunch, at which neighbors and communities are invited to share food and fun together, will take place across the country on the same date.”

Camilla would be crowned with Queen Mary’s Crown, which is set with 2,200 diamonds and was worn by Queen Mary for the coronation alongside her husband, King George V, in 1911. The crown would be altered so that is honors late Queen Elizabeth. According to some, the headpiece will be replaced with diamonds Cullinan III, IV, and V, which belonged to the late Queen’s personal jewelry collection.

And as it is obvious that William’s oldest child, Prince George, will play a significant role during the coronation, it looks like Camilla is planning to hand roles to her own grandchildren too, and according to royal experts, this decision may anger many.

Camilla has two children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes and five grandchildren; Tom’s two children, Lola and Freddy; Laura’s daughter Eliza, and twins Louis and Gus. They all call her ‘GaGa.’

Shutterstock

Daily Star reported that the Queen Consort asked her grandchildren to hold the canopy above her head as she is anointed with holy oil. And as this might sound cute, royal experts claim that this decision would mean Camilla would be taking a step too far away from royal tradition.

“I can’t help but ask myself after reading Spare, if much of the hype surrounding Harry and Meghan’s ‘will they/won’t they’ coronation plans is a buffer to distract from stories like dropping the word consort or including Camilla’s grandchildren… but not all of the King’s,” Schofield told the Daily Star.

She added: “The Royal Family’s value is in their traditions. Traditions and ceremonies that the world envies. When they sway too far from those customs, you will anger and disappoint a significant amount of people that feel like those actions strip away at the mystique.”

Further, this expert claims that although Camilla’s popularity grew significantly over the years, royals fans won’t be happy to see her grandchildren being given roles during the coronation. “Camilla’s popularity may have increased, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there will be any interest in her grandchildren,” Schofield added.

“I think people have come to accept Camilla but likely don’t love and respect her the way they did Queen Elizabeth or Princess Diana. I also don’t think Camilla cares. She is perfectly content at where she is at in her life. She is happy with her heart.”

So far, Camilla’s children stood out of the spotlight and it looks like they are happy that they are not a part of the inner royal sphere. Of course, with their mother becoming Queen Consort, this can easily change.

Meghan and Harry were ‘upset for days’ after they were mocked in new ‘South Park’ episode

One of the things that forced Harry and Meghan to step down from their royal duties and leave Britain, probably for good, was their desire to raise their children away from the public eye. As they constantly spoke of the need to lead a quiet life and be left alone by the press, many found it strange that the couple never really stopped exposing details of their privacy with the world. It all started with the now-infamous Oprah interview during which the Sussexes accused the members of the Firm of racism and mistreatment among the rest.

From that moment on, the couple, who now reside in sunny California, never stopped giving interviews. They secured a five-year $100 million production deal with Netflix, which released their documentary recently, and made deals with Spotify.

However, as much as they want to share details of their lives and speak of the members of the Firm, Harry and Meghan definitely don’t want to be talked about.

Samir Hussein/WireImage

In one of the latest episodes of the adult television series South Park, the Sussexes found themselves the subject of a number of jokes, and apparently, they were far from happy because of it.

This isn’t the first time the series to mock celebrities such as Rod Stewart, Tom Cruise, and Donald Trump.

The episode in question starts with a scene from the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and shows two characters, based on Harry and Meghan, walk past a candle that looks identical to the one talked about last fall, supposedly blocking Meghan from the cameras. Claims were that the royals had done it intentionally, and the scene in the series was clearly a nod to the Duchess.

Youtube/South Park Studios

South Park is without a doubt one of the most successful series there are. It first aired back in 1997 and it’s still on.

In the episode, the writers also included the Sussexes all-tell interview with Oprah, but this time, their animated characters were shown visiting Good Morning Canada. Further, they mocked the royals for wanting privacy, but yet, they tend to be under the spotlight. Meghan’s animated character is seen holding a sign which reads, “Do not look at us,” while Harry says, “We do not want privacy.” When the host asks Harry’s character if he hates journalists, the Prince answers, “That’s right, we just want to be normal people – all this attention is so hard.” The two then storm off the stage.

When meeting a “brand manager” in the episode, he labels Meghan as a “sorority girl, actress, influencer and victim,” while Harry is branded a “royal prince, millionaire, world traveller victim.”

Comedy Central

The show then mocked the royals decision to leave Britain, and in the episode, instead of California, the couple moves to South Park, but the residents aren’t delighted because of that. “If we moved here, people would think we’re really serious about wanting to be normal,” Meghan’s character said.

One of the show’s characters, Kyle, then complains that the Duchess “bosses him around” and could be heard saying, “I’m sick of hearing about them! I can’t get away from them!”

Kyle also states: “They have this huge jet parked in front of my house and they keep on wanting me to buy their book,” referring to Harry’s all-tell memoir Spare.

However, as much as this episode brought laughter at the viewers, Harry and Meghan seemed to be left utterly upset.

A person close to the couple revealed that Meghan has been “annoyed by South Park but refuses to watch it,” and added that she was “upset for days” and “underwhelmed.”

According to royal expert Neil Sean, the couple has been so unhappy with the episode that they are even considering suing the writers of the show.

“Their legal team are casting an eye over the episode to see what is wrong, and what could be turned into something more sinister. This appears to be their course of action rather than laughing it off, enjoying the moment and showing the world that they get the joke,” Sean told Fox.

The couple’s spokesperson said that the reports of Harry and Meghan being angry of how they were portrayed in South Park are untrue. “It’s all frankly nonsense. Totally baseless, boring reports,” the spokesperson told The Guardian.

What do you think of this? Have you seen the episode in question?

King Charles has all royal fans saying the same thing after surprising greeting with members of the public

The British people, as well as many others from every corner of the Earth, are eagerly waiting the coronation of King Charles which is supposed to take place on May 6, the same day Meghan and Harry’s son Archie was born.

The King and the Queen Consort have their hands full doing their royal duties ahead of the big day.

Britain hasn’t seen a coronation taking place for over 70 years, or since the time late Queen Elizabeth took the throne, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that the event would be a significant one.

Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images

According to the media, the day after, on May 7, a special Coronation Concert will be held at Windsor Castle, which the BBC will broadcast. As reported by the Palace, the concert “will bring global music icons and contemporary stars together in celebration of the historic occasion.”

“Attended by a public audience including volunteers from The King and The Queen Consort’s many charity affiliations, the concert will see a world-class orchestra play interpretations of musical favorites fronted by some of the world’s biggest entertainers alongside performers from the world of dance. The performances will be supported by staging and effects located on the Castle’s East Lawn and will also feature a selection of spoken word sequences delivered by stars of stage and screen, it says.”

It is still unclear which singers and groups will perform for the gathered crowd, but rumors are that certain singers, among which Elton John, Robbie Williams, Harry Styles, and the Spice Girls had declined a spot on the bill at the historic show. Previously, it was reported that both Adele and Ed Sheeran said no to performing on the concert.

Shutterstock/Drop of Light

“As far as lining up performers for the coronation concert, I wouldn’t panic quite yet,” royal expert Christopher Andersen, author of The King, told Fox. “Joss Stone is a friend of the younger royals and can usually be counted on. There is also a long list of American pop stars chomping at the bit to perform.”

According to him, some of the artists who were in charge of entertaining the public during the celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee will likely agree to be part of the coronation concert.

“They’d be crazy not to ask Madonna, who has a massive 40th-anniversary tour this summer, and I’m sure wouldn’t mind the opportunity to perform for the king,” Andersen explained.

“So, plenty of options. People are reading way too much into what really amounts to scheduling conflicts. It’s highly doubtful that anyone would turn down the invitation to perform at the coronation… It’s a singular moment in history, and, frankly, just too massive a gig!”

Among those who declined the invitation to perform is Australian music icon Kylie Minogue. “Kylie has been an honorary Brit for many, many years and admires the Royal Family and everything that they do. But she is also a passionate Australian and has read the room in a country that could very soon become a republic,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Charles and Camilla, visited Colchester last week to mark its newly approved city status and something caught the attention of the public.

As the two were walking along the street, a number of people, who were apparently not fans of the monarchy and were there to protest, said things like, “Why are you wasting our money?” “Don’t you believe in democracy, Charles?” and “Answer your critics, Charles.” The King, however, ignored them and turned to the cheering crowd instead. He greeted them and shook their hands, but he was also seen giving a fist bump to a fan. Many found this amusing.

Instagram/theroyalfamily

Under the video shared on the official Instagram account of the Royal Family captioned “So wonderful to celebrate with Colchester today as they mark their new City status!” there were plenty of comments regarding Charles’ fist bump greeting.

“Loved how the King fist bumped someone in the crowd,” one person commented.

“Fist bump by The King! How wonderful!!” a second wrote.

“He’s such a cool cat,” a third added, while a fourth commented, “What a beautiful visit and celebration! Very much looking forward to the coronation.”

The brilliant but tragic life of comedian Marty Feldman: He wasn’t allowed on television because his eyes ‘frightened’ people

When thinking of Hollywood, the first thing that comes to mind is the glam and the perfect bodies and faces of the celebrities whose lives seem to be picture-perfect. But as with every living person out there, these people deal with issues and face different struggles, most times, away from the public eye.

One thing is, however, certain, and that is that being different doesn’t always fit the standards imposed by societies so these people sometimes find it hard to fit in, especially in Hollywood. Luckily, that is not always the case, and the story of comedian Marty Feldman is the perfect proof of that.

This incredibly talented man was diagnosed with thyroid eye disease, also known as Graves’ disease, which made his eyes both misaligned and sticking out.

Rainer Binder/ullstein bild via Getty Images

At one point of his life, this condition seemed to be an obstacle towards the fulfillment of his dream of reaching for the stars and becoming a comedian, but luckily, despite his condition, Marty knew how to love and accept himself the way he was, and his self-confidence was crucial in pursuing a career in the world of film.

Being a Jew made things difficult for him while he was a student, and he even got expelled from several schools. Recalling that period of his life, Marty wrote in his autobiography, eYE Marty, “I didn’t do Bible class because I was a Jew. They didn’t know what to do with me, so they would just give me extra Maths. The Bible must have been hard work because God knows Maths was.”

Marty fell in love with comedy from early age and was determined to make it big. Eventually, his dream did come true, but the road to fame wasn’t an easy one.

Youtube

At one point in his life, while he was still very young, a comedy writer named John Law took an interest in Marty’s sketches and that led him to his first writing gig at the BBC called Educating Archie, and in 1966 he became the chief writer and script editor on the BBC satirical show The Frost Report.

“At the end of the show series, David [Frost] asked the writers to prepare a comedy special and write themselves into it,” Marty explained.

“The other three all had the experience, but somehow, they included me. I participated in the pilot film as a performer, and the show sold.”

He and Berry Took wrote scripts for the sitcoms The Army Game and Bootsie and Snudge. In addition to that, the two also wrote three episodes for the BBC comedy series Round the Horne, which at the time, the mid-1960s, had more than 15 million listeners per episode.

Up until he started working at The Frost Report, Marty’s appearance didn’t seem to be an issue, at least Marty himself didn’t mind the way he looked, but others didn’t think so.

Namely, comedian and talk show host David Frost threatened to leave the show in case Marty was given more airtime as he believed “the eyes will frighten people.”

Geluidwiki – Gallery /Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision.

In 1967, Marty, together with Graham Chapman, Tim Brooke-Taylor, and John Cleese, started the show At Last the 1948 Show. It was a huge success and it was from that show that Monty Python was formed.

In 1970, Marty got a lead role in Every Home Should Have One, and two years later, he landed a role in Young Frankenstein. His character’s name was Igor, but was ironically pronounced as Eye-Gor.

“First, I tried to find out where he was looking,” Mel Brooks, who cast Marty in the film, recalled about working with him on Young Frankenstein.

“His eyes stare in about 19 different directions. They look like hard-boiled eggs that somebody painted eyeballs on and didn’t paint them on right. So first, I’d get in the path of his vision and try to signal him down. Then I’d say, ‘Marty, be very good.’ He’d say, ‘All right.’ And he was. After Marty, there will never be another Igor. They’ll have to retire the part. He’s it.”

Marty was aware that his looks were the reason he couldn’t be a leading star.

“If I aspired to be Robert Redford, I’d have my eyes straightened out, and my nose fixed and end up like every other lousy actor, with two lines on [the 1970 cop show] Kojak. This way, I’m a novelty,” he once said.

Marty even tried himself as a director, but both his films, The Last Remake of Beau Geste and the 1980 film In God We Tru$t, had bad box-office returns so Universal canceled his contract.

Youtube

When it came to his private life, he was married to Lauretta Sullivan and they had two children together. The two stayed together until his tragic passing in December of 1982. As the filming of Yellowbeard was wrapping up in Mexico, Marty suffered a massive heart attack due to shellfish poisoning. He was 48.

The great comedian was buried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, close to his comedy idol Buster Keaton.

“People recognized the love and humanity in him. He approached everyone as an equal; that’s why children loved him,” friend and fellow actor Henry Pollack said.

“Marty Feldman never liked funerals, so I guess he wouldn’t have liked this one. But he showed up anyway, didn’t he?”

“Marty Feldman was uniquely gifted,” Mel Brooks said. “There are too many complicated feelings that make it difficult, if not impossible, to express this kind of loss in words. I’ll miss him.”

Marty Feldman’s life story is an inspiring one, please SHARE it with your friends and family on Facebook.

Tom Sizemore, ‘Saving Private Ryan’ star, dead at 61

Tom Sizemore, best known for his role in Saving Private Ryan, has died at the age of 61.

Tom, who rose to fame in the 1990s, often playing supporting roles as tough guy, suffered a brain aneurysm on Saturday, February 18, a representative for the actor confirmed the news.

“He is in the hospital,” Charles Lago told the media shortly after the incident. “His family is aware of the situation and are hoping for the best. It is too early to know about [a] recovery situation as he is in critical condition and under observation.”

Tom collapsed at his home in Los Angeles and was transported to hospital soon after. At the time, his manager said the family were “deciding on end of life matters” after being told by doctors that “there is no further hope.”

Lago stated in a statement to Variety that the family ultimately decided to remove him from life support on March 3.

“It is with great sadness and sorrow I have to announce that actor Thomas Edward Sizemore (‘Tom Sizemore’) aged 61 passed away peacefully in his sleep today at St Joseph’s Hospital Burbank,” Lago’s statement reads. “His brother Paul and twin boys Jayden and Jagger (17) were at his side.”

“I am deeply saddened by the loss of my big brother Tom,” his brother Paul Sizemore said in a statement, as reported by Variety. “He was larger than life. He has influenced my life more than anyone I know. He was talented, loving, giving and could keep you entertained endlessly with his wit and storytelling ability. I am devastated he is gone and will miss him always.”

Tom had quite a career. Besides what is believed to be one of his biggest roles, that of Mike Horvath in Saving Private Ryan, he also played in “Born on the Fourth of July” alongside Tom Cruise, “Pearl Harbor” with Ben Affleck, and in the television show “Twin Peaks.” He worked as a writer and producer for various projects.

The 61-year-old actor had troubles with the law in the past. In 2003 he was convicted of domestic violence against then-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss, while in 2005, he was sentenced to several months in jail after being caught trying to fake a urine test. But he always spoke openly about his troubles, including his attempts to stay sober.

“I’ve been trying to get sober since 1991 … It became really big news much later than that, but I was trying to stop. I’ve had a problem for a long time. I had periods, long periods, of sobriety and I would end up relapsing,” Tom said in the past.

“I still go to meetings and work my steps, but I had reached a place in my life where I knew I had to stop,” he explained. “I couldn’t be arrogant anymore. If I wanted to reach a nice and pleasant old age, I had to stop. And if I wanted to watch my kids grow up, I needed to reach a place where I knew it was over.

“So far, it has remained over,” he once said. “I still have to do my daily inventory and show up.”

In 2010, Tom participated in the third season of the reality television program Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

Rest in Peace, Tom Sizemore, you will be dearly missed.

Mom on life support makes miraculous recovery – meets her baby after birth while still on ventilator

Whether you believe in miracles or not, they do happen, and it’s usually when we least expect them.

The COVID-19 pandemic affected the humanity to the extent unimaginable. Many businesses were forced to shut down, economies were on the verge of collapse, and people lost their jobs. But the worst of all is that many were left fighting for their lives, and some lost the battle.

Autimn Carver and her husband Zach both tested positive of the virus in August. At the time, Autumn was pregnant with her third child, but sadly, her health condition wasn’t good and she was hospitalized and forced to undergo a C-section at the 33rd week of pregnancy.

Baby Huxley was born healthy, but Autumn needed to be put on life support as she was struggling to breath.

The little one was released from hospital after ten days, but Autumn needed to stay much longer as doctors’ prognosis were dull.

Fortunately, after two long months, this brave mom of three was finally able to hold her bundle of joy in her arms.

“It was very emotional, for myself and of course her parents and of course for Autumn,” Zach Carver told Good Morning America. “It’s why she is fighting so hard, so she can get home to our kids.”

He shared the happy news on Facebook and wrote, “A surprise conversation with a doctor this morning brought us out of isolation and a plan for Autumn to meet Huxley. Same convo advised us that Autumn Carver’s tracheotomy would be switched out to a smaller one so she could have a speaking devise attached to it.

“At 3 pm today she met our son and it was an amazing moment needless to say. Her parents, one of her best friends and many nurses and doctors witnessed the special moment. I don’t know if there was a dry eye in the area. Later this afternoon I got to hear Autumn say ‘I love Zach’. What an amazing day.

“We have a long way to go, but a good day through this was much needed. Autumn says thank you for all the prayers and support along the way. God bless you.”

Autumn was then transferred to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and doctors said she would probably need lung transplant. But then in November Zach posted an update saying that his brave wife was getting stronger and stronger.

“We went from she’s going to die, to she’s going to need a full lung transplant to she’s going to go home,” he said. “It’s an absolute miracle.”

Julia Roberts has been married to her husband for 20 years – inside their relationship

Over the years, actress Julia Roberts have been involved in a few relationships with celebrity men, but it wasn’t until 2002 that she met the love of her life. Her relationship with her now-husband Daniel Moder has been a complicated one from the start. In fact, the two had a fair share of drama until they got where they are today.

When they first met in 2000 on the set of The Mexican, Moder was married to then-wife Vera Steimberg. Rumors were that his first marriage broke down because of the Runaway Bride star although she claimed she wasn’t the reason why Moder and Steimberg divorced.

Shutterstock

Before tying the knot with Moder, with whom she shared three children, twins Phinnaeus and Hazel and a son Henry, Roberts was romantically involved with actors Dylan McDermott, Matthew Perry, Jason Patric and Liam Neeson. She was briefly engaged to actor Kiefer Sutherland, but the two split mere days before they were supposed to say ‘I do.’ Roberts then married country singer Lyle Lovett and their marriage lasted for two years, from 1993 to 1995. At the time she met Moder, Roberts was said to have dated actor Benjamin Bratt.

Today, 20 years after tying the knot, Roberts and Moder are as in love as day one.

Shutterstock

Roberts is known as someone who tends to keep her personal life private, yet, back in 2018, she opened up about her marriage when speaking to Gwyneth Paltrow on the GOOP podcast. “I think that first kind of real ‘seismic shift’ was meeting Danny, getting married to Danny… that was the first ‘my life will never be the same’ in the most incredible, indescribable way,” she said.

She then added: “He truly, to this day, to this minute is just my favorite human … I’m more interested in what he has to say or his point of view just (more) than anybody. Really, we’re so lucky in that way. We just really, really like each other and we just enjoy each other’s company.”

Further, she said that their love for one another only gets deeper with each passing day and added that marriage is a gamble. “… you’re young and you fall in love and go, ‘Yeah, we’re going to get married and we’re going to build a house and will have kids,’ and all these things that we all kind of dream of, but you don’t know if you’re going to like the same couch and you don’t know if he is going to want to get patterned towels.”

“You just don’t know these things until you are right there doing it and we are so fortunate that there is some kind of some explicable harmony to the way we do thing,” the actress said. “He’s the best decision I’ve ever made,” she gushed.

A source close to the couple said in 2020, “[Roberts and Moder] truly feel like soulmates. The chemistry between them is crucial. After all this time, Julia still finds Danny incredibly sexy, and he adores her still. The couple is ‘committed to staying together for the long haul, whatever it takes.’”

We are glad Julia Roberts found her soulmate. We only wish her the best.

Christina Applegate makes ‘last’ Red Carpet appearance

Being born in the heart of the city which is the center of the film industry, and with her dad being a record producer and record company executive and her mom being an actress, it seemed like it was written in the stars for Christina Applegate to become one herself.

She had her first TV appearance when she was just a year old. Along with her mom, she appeared in the soap opera Days of Our Lives. As years went by, Christina’s career took off and she became one of the most famous names in the industry.

Among the rest, she starred in Grace Kelly and Married … with Children. The latter was her big breakthrough after which she moved on to a number of other projects.

It has been said that she auditioned for the iconic role of Rose in Titanic but lost to Kate Winslet.

One of her most recent roles is the one in Dead to Me, series which aired in 2019.

Christina was diagnosed with breast cancer back in 2008 and underwent a double mastectomy. Some ten years after the procedure, in an interview for USA Today, she revealed she was still facing body image issues.

In August 2022, The Sweetest Thing star revealed that she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), an autoimmune chronic disease of the central nervous system which disrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body, as well as within the brain.

There is currently no cure for it, but the symptoms could be managed with proper treatment. For people with MS, average life expectancy is slightly reduced.

When Christina first spoke of her diagnosis, she described the experience as a ‘strange journey’ and a ‘tough road.’ She added that she received support from people she knows who also have the condition.

At the SAG Awards SAG Awards on Sunday, February 26, the actress walked the red carpet together with her daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble. Christina hinted that this ceremony could be her last public appearance. The 51-year-old actress wore a tuxedo gown made of velvet that reached the floor and had a cane carved with the initials “FU MS.” Sadie Grace wore a long, double-breasted black blazer layered over a black button down shirt which she paired with matching trousers, a baker boy hat, and classic combat boots.

Due to the medications she takes in order to keep her condition under control, Christina gained around 40 pounds.

In a December online interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Christina explained how music helped her deal with the trauma and the stress, adding that creating art allowed her to put her focus elsewhere.

We wish Christina Applegate only the best.

16-year-old Suri Cruise is the perfect blend of dad Tom Cruise and mom Katie Holmes

Celebrity marriages don’t last long. Well, at least a great number of them don’t. The reasons for this ‘phenomenon’ are various. The truth is that celebs lead pretty busy lives and follow hectic schedules, so they don’t often find the time to be around their families, which might be one of the reasons for the huge number of divorces among the elite.

Take Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for example. At the time they started dating, all eyes were on them, but their union was short-lived.

When they divorced, the media reported that Holmes was awarded the custody of their daughter, Suri Cruise, and her father was allowed to see her ten days every month. To the surprise of the wide public, he chose not to.

The last photo of Tom Cruise and his daughter was taken back in 2012, and according to the media, he hasn’t seen her ever since. Rumors are he got estranged from Suri because she’s not part of the controversial church of Scientology. In fact, although she has never said it out loud, Holmes implied that the church Cruise is heavily involved with was one of the reasons for the split.

With or without her father in her life, Suri turned into an amazing young girl. Her mom made sure to raise her right, and today, Suri is well-behaved and hard-working.

Recently, she stole the attention of many with her angelic voice. Namely, she did the cover of Frank Sinatra’s Blue Moon for the 2022 film Alone Together, which tells a story about two strangers embroiled in bad relationships who wind up in the same upstate New York Airbnb.

When thinking of who might do the vocals, Holmes, who is the director of the film, strived for perfection, and choosing her daughter, who is extremely talented, was a no-brainer. “She’s very talented. She said she would do it, and she recorded it, and I let her do her thing. That’s the way I direct in general. ‘This is what I think we all want, and then go do your thing,’” Holmes told

However, if you think Holmes is biased, she isn’t the only one who believes Suri did an awesome job. In fact, a huge number of people took their time to praise the young lady for the job well-done.

“She avoided the contemporary pitfalls of many who burden songs with countless scales sung throughout the song. Her voice sounded lovely and well trained, where it was not necessary to over-perform! It was a total pleasure to listen to a celebrity’s child who, after doing her homework, owns the spotlight! Bravo!” one person wrote.

“She sounds so wonderful and has so much control in her voice. I’m so impressed,” another person added.

One fan reacted to Suri’s singing by comparing it to singer, actress, and activist Doris Day, who began her career as a big band singer in 1939 and achieved commercial success in 1945.

What’s most, Suri, who is now 16, resembles both her mom and dad and it looks like she has inherited the best of the two. Isn’t she a lovely young lady?

5-year-old gets bitten by neighbor’s Labrador – this sets off the family pit bull who does the unimaginable

There is no such thing as a bad dog, maybe just bad owners who fail to teach their furry pets the right behavior. When a dog is mistreated, it’s not unusual for them to turn aggressive, but that again, isn’t the dog’s fault.

Out of all dog breeds out there, Pit Bulls are considered to be most vicious. Their bad reputation is a result of humans treatment towards them. They have been used for dog frights for so long that they now stand for aggression. But the Pit Bull from this story proves this common believe to be completely wrong by stepping in for a little girl and saving her life.

Remayah Hernandez, 5, and her sister, were riding their bikes around the neighborhood when Remayah noticed the neighbor’s dog, a Labrador mix named Tank. This little girl is a huge animal lover, so she decided to get closer and pet the animal. But that didn’t end well as Tank attacked her and bit her in the face.

Remayah was in pain and all covered in blood and started screaming as loud as she could. Thankfully, her mother heard her and rushed to save her, but their family dog, a Pit Bull named Trigger was faster. He was always taught how to be a good boy, but when it came to his sweet human sister, he seemed to forgot everything about it and rushed to show the Lab who was he messing with. Trigger jumped the fence and released Remayah from the Lab’s jaws.

The sweet girl was left terrified and confused, but she was grateful her hero pet saved her life. She was taken to hospital where she had a surgery for her injuries. Tack was taken by the police and was eventually put down because of the aggressive behavior he manifested.

The family had a plan to take sweet Remayah to Disney World, but now that they spent all their money on her plastic surgery, they couldn’t afford the trip. However, once her story spread around, people started an online campaign and raised $1,000 for the trip she was so eagerly anticipating.

At the time of the incident, the attacker dog’s owner wasn’t home and isn’t sure how his dog managed to get out of the house. He does believe there is more to the story because as he says, his dog never showed any aggressive behavior before. However, he’s glad the little girl is doing okay.

The real reason why Julie Christie left Hollywood in her prime

Many of us dream of fame and fortune because we believe that these things are what make life better. But there are people out there who have experienced all these and decided it wasn’t crucial for a fulfilling life. One of them is gorgeous Julie Christie, a stunningly beautiful and talented actress who left Hollywood in her prime.

As she rose to stardom, she decided she had it enough and turned to a more quiet life, and her decision surprised many, but she never regretted it, not once.

Christie, who is considered a British actress was in fact born in India as her father owned a tea plantation there. But as she turned six, she was sent to a boarding school in Britain. She was expelled from several schools and later said, “It would be shocking for you to know how little it took to get expelled in those days.

“Once, it was because I had my school dress tucked in my knickers and was accused of enticing village boys.”

Christie studied in Paris, France, before she returned to England where she attended London’s Central School for Drama. She was just 16 when she made her stage debut as a member of the Frinton Repertory of Essex after which the promising talent began touring with the Royal Shakespeare Company, a love of hers that she would return to once again after leaving Hollywood.

In 1961, Christie had her screen debut in the sci-fi BBC series A for Andromeda. This series helped her attract the attention of renowned directors and producers who saw in her a future star. Then, in 1963, she had her big breakthrough with John Schlesinger’s film Billy Liar. What followed was yet another iconic role, that of the promiscuous model Diana Scott in Darling.

She started making a name for herself, and soon after, another huge hit was on her way. Christie was cast in the iconic 1965 romance Doctor Zhivago, starring alongside Omar Sharif.

However, despite the fame and the status she enjoyed, Christie didn’t find much enjoyment in being a celebrity.

“I didn’t use to want to be a great star. But I must confess it’s becoming quite attractive to me now. However, I’m afraid I might become unbearable. In fact, now I am sometimes downright rude to people,” Julie said.

“I’m beginning to get spoiled. I’m starting to expect things. When people start predicting big things for you, then you really get terribly spoiled.”

She continued: ” I don’t feel I am a celebrity. No one ever recognizes me wherever I go and I’m just as glad. Success is a trap and you get caught up in it. I’m an incredibly selfish and insecure person.”

Her career reached new heights with the films that followed, including Far from the Madding Crowd, McCabe and Mrs. MillerShampoo, and Heaven Can Wait. In some of those productions, Julie appeared alongside her then-boyfriend Warren Beatty, who was widely known as a womanizer.

Many tried convincing Christie to stay away from him because of his long history with women, but she refused to do so. Beatty dated many Hollywood divas, among which Jane Fonda, Carly Simon, Goldie Hawn, Joni Mitchell, Jackie Onassis, and Madonna.

Director John Schlesinger urged her to leave him and said of him that he “gets through women like a businessman through a dozen oysters.”

The two split eventually but remained very close friends.

“He gave me a political perspective, which I am very grateful for. I loved the way, say, that he would go to baseball matches and stand up in the interval and talk about getting rid of guns,” Christie said of Beatty after the breakup.

“He would be this little tiny figure in this big baseball stadium, and I would be looking down at him, I thought he was wonderfully courageous for doing that.”

“When she and her husband come to Los Angeles, they stay in our guest house. We’re very close and she’s a remarkable person,” Beatty told People in 2016.

In 1977, Christie left her glamorous life behind and returned to England where she lived with a family and their children as she didn’t have a family on her own.

Then, in 1979, she engaged in a relationship with journalist Duncan Campbell with whom she tied the knot.

Years after moving to England, Christie returned to Hollywood and played in Away From Her, portraying an Alzheimer’s patient.

The actress is now 82 and she is as stunning as ever. She admitted undergoing cosmetic surgery and says she has “no connection at all” with her young self. “That person has gone,” she added.

Harry and Meghan ‘stunned’ by King Charles’ ‘cruel’ new decision

Prince Harry’s all-tell memoir Spare caused quite a stir. People still can’t stop talking about the things he revealed in his long-awaited book. And as the members of the Firm haven’t commented on it publicly, it is obvious they are far from happy with the revelations as well as the accusations brought up by the Prince.

Among those who received their fair share of criticism by Harry have been his father, King Charles, and his stepmother Camilla.

When William and Harry met Camilla fro the first time, William reportedly described the meeting as “awkward and tense.”

“I think the relationship between them all is warm now but if I’m honest, it wasn’t then. I think they found it hard,” a palace source told royal biographer Penny Junor, author of Prince William: Born to be King. “To be fair to Camilla, she never tried to be mummy but she was the ‘other woman’ and she was there and taking daddy’s time.”

Other experts claimed that initially, Harry wasn’t fond of Camilla either.

In her book The Palace Papers, royal author Tina Brown wrote that Harry “unnerved” Camilla.

“When the younger boy was eventually prevailed upon to be in the presence of Mrs Parker Bowles, he unnerved her with long silences and smouldering, resentful stares,” she quoted a courtier saying.

And now, Camilla wasn’t spared in Spare either.

Harry revealed in his memoir that he and his brother had pleaded with their father not to marry Camilla.

“Despite Willy and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings,” Harry wrote in Spare. “We recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved.”

He even wrote that he had asked himself if Camilla would be “just as cruel to him as all the wicked stepmothers in storybooks,” adding that William “long harbored suspicions about the Other Woman.”

Previously, in the interviews he gave to the media, Harry accused his stepmother of leaking stories to the British media in an attempt to fix her own public image. Further, he said that the media portrayed her as a ‘villain’ because they believed she was to be blamed for Charles and Diana’s collapsed marriage.

“That made her dangerous because of the connections that she was forging within the British press. And there was open willingness on both sides to trade of information. And with a family built on hierarchy, and with her, on the way to being Queen Consort, there was gonna be people or bodies left in the street because of that,” Harry said.

“If you are led to believe, as a member of the family, that being on the front page, having positive headlines, positive stories written about you, is going to improve your reputation or increase the chances of you being accepted as monarch by the British public, then that’s what you’re gonna do.”

Rosa Woods – Pool/Getty Images

In an interview with Good Morning America, Harry revealed that he hasn’t spoken with his father’s wife for a very long time.

“I love every member of my family, despite the differences, so when I see her, we’re perfectly pleasant with each other,” he said.

“She’s my stepmother. I don’t look at her as an evil stepmother. I see someone who married into this institution and has done everything that she can to improve her own reputation and her own image, for her own sake.”

According to royal expert Angela Levin, Camilla feels the same and she isn’t much interested in a relationship with Harry either.

“The Duchess always felt quite wary of Harry and used to see him out of the corner of her eye looking at her in a long and cold way. She found it rather unnerving. Otherwise, they got on quite well,” Levin writes in her new book Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort.

Shortly after tying the knot, Harry and Meghan were given a new place to call home, Frogmore Cottage, which is on the Windsor Cottage grounds. The place has been a royal residence ever since 1792 and many members of the royalty called it home over the years, among them Queen Charlotte, wife of George III, and the Duchess of Kent. Queen Victoria’s mother was laid to rest in a mausoleum on its grounds.

When Harry and Meghan became the new residents of Frogmore Cottage, it was reported that they spent around $3 million to renovate it, and once they stepped down from their royal duties, it still remained their place that they could use whenever visiting Britain.

But now, as Harry’s book made many angry, especially King Charles, who hasn’t publicly commented his son’s memoir, the couple have reportedly been evicted from Frogmore Cottage.

The news has been confirmed by Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson. “We can confirm the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage,” the spokesperson told Vanity Fair.

Allegedly, the residence has been offered to Prince Andrew instead, who has been living in a 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park since 2003.

As per The Sun, Andrew is “resisting” the King’s wish for him to move into Frogmore Cottage. “This surely spells the end of Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK,” a royal source told the newspaper.

Patrick van Katwijk/Getty Images

This decision came just a day after Spare was released and Harry and Meghan are reportedly “stunned” by the eviction.

“Harry and Meghan have until early summer to vacate,” a source told Scobie, reporting for Yahoo. “Initially, they were given just weeks, but now they have at least until after the coronation.”

“It all feels very final and like a cruel punishment,” a friend of Harry and Meghan’s added. “It’s like [the family] wants to cut them out of the picture for good.”

Royal author and expert Tom Bower commented on King Charles’ decision and told Page Six, “Harry and Meghan provoked him [King Charles] with Harry’s disgraceful book and the interviews he gave,” adding: “I mean, what did he expect?” the author continued. “Harry wanted the royal family to come on bended knee begging for forgiveness, and he’s completely crossed the spectrum, he’s in the mad wilderness of deranged victimhood.”

He added that the Sussexes are likely not welcomed to King Charles’ coronation.

Tab Hunter had a secret romance with a famous actor before he came out and married Allan Glaser

Tab Hunter was a Hollywood heartthrob whose career skyrocketed after he landed a role in the 1955’s Battle Cry. He was adored by millions and his stunning looks charmed many.

When he was 15, he lied about his age so that he could get enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he earned the nickname Hollywood because of his infatuation with movies. At 17, Hunter was discovered by legendary agent Henry Willson who had previously found male superstars like Robert Wagner and Rock Hudson.

“Acting skill was secondary to chiseled features and a fine physique,” Hunter revealed in his book Tab Hunter Confidential.

And he was so right, because it was mostly his ”Malibu beach boy looks” that helped him become part of Hollywood in the first place. ”I was sort of a product of. I was thrown into it, and kind of wondered where does one serve one’s apprenticeship. I was one of those people who had to learn while doing. I learned on the job,” he said.

As his career progressed and more and more people fell for his looks and acting, Hunter dealt with personal issues. In fact, he was a homosexual, but speaking about it openly in then-controversial America was not an option. He knew that if he revealed his sexuality, his career would suffer. Sadly, he was forced to pursue his relationships in the shadows and out of the public eye.

While Hunter dated fellow star Anthony Perkins, people started talking around.

Speaking of their relationship, the actor said, ”We just chatted and got on and soon we were starting to see each other But it was difficult; we couldn’t just go out for dinner together or go see a movie because we were both getting so popular back then. I didn’t talk about my personal life to anyone back then at all. The way I saw it it was nobody’s damn business.”

At one point, Hunter was told that someone was intending to write a book about him, and he was certain things about his sexuality would be revealed in there so he finally decided to tell the truth himself. He explained to The Hollywood Reporter that it was best to “get it from the horse’s mouth.”

Before he came out of the closet, Hunter was believed to be dating his Burning Hills costar, Natalie Wood. Warner Bros, the studio that offered Hunter a seven-year contract, placed the two young stars together. They pretended to be dating and attended numerous award shows and ceremonies together. At one point, he was also very close to star Debbie Reynolds. As everyone believed he was a straight man, Hunter received endless amounts of mail from female fans.

He eventually married the man he was in love with for a long time, Allan Glaser. The two lived a quiet life away from the public eye in a small cottage in a town on the outskirts of Santa Barbara.

With a career spanning over five decades, Tina Turner is one of the best-selling recording artists. She was born Anna Mae Bullock and her parents divorced when she was very young leaving her and her sister with their grandmother. When she turned 19, Tina moved in with her mother and that’s when her talent got noticed.

Tina rose to fame when she started performing with her then-husband Ike Turner before she started a solo career.

Her energetic stage presence and her powerful vocal kept her on the top for many years. Tina’s songs “Private Dancer,” “What’s Love Got To Do,” “Proud Mary,” and many more are still huge hits and part of many generations’ lives.

She retired from singing some years ago and has faced a series of health challenges from 2013 to 2018. Today, however, she’s feeling fine and is happy to be alive.

Tina had a stroke after which she struggled to use her right hand. She also lost the ability to speak shortly, but managed to regain her strength. But just after she thought she was doing great, she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer followed by kidney failure. Not many were familiar with the super-star’s struggles as she opened up about it in her book, Tina Turner: My Love Story, published two years ago.

“I began to think about death. If my kidneys were going, and it was time for me to die, I could accept that. It was OK. When it’s time, it’s really time. I didn’t mind the thought of dying, but I was concerned about how I would go,” she wrote.

After the successful surgery during which part of her colon was removed, she had a kidney transplant. Her donor was her husband Erwin Bach.

“I know that my medical adventure is far from over,” Turner wrote. “But I’m still here — we’re still here, closer than we ever imagined. I can look back and understand why my karma was the way it was. Good came out of bad. Joy came out of pain. And I have never been so completely happy as I am today.”

Tina and Erwin’s love story has been a beautiful one.

Following her marriage with her first husband Ike, who has been abusive and made her life a living hell, she didn’t believe in love, but meeting Erwin changed it all.

Speaking of their first encounter, the singer said, “He had the prettiest face. You could not miss it. My heart went bu-bum. It means that a soul has met. My hands were shaking. And Roger said to me, ‘Tina, you ride with Erwin,’ and I wanted to go, ‘Yay!’” At the time, he was a 30-year-old music executive for EMI.

Later on, Turner invited him to visit her to the States and that’s when she knew he was the one. “It’s love. It’s something we both have for each other. I always refer to it as an electrical charge. I still have it. Even though when I left her two hours ago, I still have that feeling. It’s in my heart. I feel very warm about this,” he said of their relationship.

Erwin proposed Turner on her 59th birthday. She didn’t say ‘yes’ right away because she had already had a bad experience with marriage.

“I said, ‘I don’t have an answer.’ It wasn’t yes, it wasn’t no. Marriage says ownership. I didn’t want that ‘my’ anything, anymore. I had enough of that.”

They eventually tied the knot. The wedding ceremony was held at their luxurious estate in Switzerland and the singer wore a fabulous dress by Giorgio Armani, embellished with Swarovski crystals.

When she was diagnosed with kidney cancer, it was Erwin who gave her the biggest support and made the ultimate sacrifice for her.

“He said he didn’t want another woman, or another life. Then he shocked me. He said he wanted to give me one of his kidneys”, she remarked.

Her fans wished her well and were eager to learn how she was doing after she managed to overcome the number of health issues, so she treated them with a video and said, “Yes, I made it, I look great. I feel good. I’ve gone through some very serious sicknesses that I’m overcoming, so it’s like having a second chance at life.”

In the recent feature-length documentary, simply titled “Tina,” the singer spoke of her life again and said how she suffers from PTSD from the abuse she experienced by her former husband Ike Turner. She also said that she wants to enter the third and final chapter of her life out of the spotlight and fans saw it as a farewell.

We wish Tina all the best in the years to come and we hope she won’t experience any more health issues.

Inside Roseanne Barr’s weight loss transformation: The 70-year-old comedian moved to a farm and shed 80 lbs

Roseanne Barr has long been dubbed one of America’s funniest and most controversial comedians.

Her ability to make people laugh made her the second highest-paid female actress in the industry during the last two seasons of the hit show Roseanne.

She started her career as a comedian after she left home and went to Colorado where she worked a number of poorly paid jobs. Eventually, she ended up working as a cocktail waitress. She practiced her comedy with the customers who advised her to try herself as a comedian.

”My customers encouraged me to go down to this comedy club. I didn’t know it was there. So I went down there and watched everybody,” Barr told Hawaii Tribune-Herald.

Getty Images

During a performance at the famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles, Barr attracted the attention of comedy producer George Schlatter which led to gigs on The Tonight Show in 1985, and Late Night with David Letterman in 1986.

That was a start of a very successful career. Barr was soon dubbed ”Domestic Goddess” and her working-class edge humor made her a famous name in the showbiz.

Towards the end of Roseanne, Barr weighted at her heaviest. Reaching 350 pounds prompted her to undergo weight loss surgery. At that point, she lost 80 pounds but she still needed to follow a strict diet. Barr was left with loose skin that she had to tackle with the help of a tummy tuck and when people publicly commented on her new trimmer figure, she was quick to point out, “I had my entire digestive system removed, so I should look thinner!”

Along with the gastric bypass surgery, Barr had her nose reshaped. During that 2003 interview with the publication, she admitted wanting more procedures but she feared that something could possibly go wrong because of her age. The actress admitted that she gained a little weight again, telling WebMD in 2006 that she’s “fat” but feels “great.”

Then, in 2014, she appeared at an NBC press event and talked about how she had recently lost more weight, saying, “I’m just doing the things you’re supposed to do…you know, moving more, and eating less.”

“I went on a new diet. It’s radical and revolutionary. It’s where you eat less and move more—you know, just simple,” she told Today. “I just want to keep getting healthy and let go of excess baggage to carry around, so I’m lighter on my feet and in my life.”

Barr also turned to gardening. In an interview with Oprah, she revealed, “I’m a farmer now, and it’s fantastic. My goal is to be totally self-sufficient and grow everything I eat.”

Roseanne Barr’s fans are supportive and encourage her journey towards a healthy life-style. Well, at least those who believe she shouldn’t be loosing any more weight.

Stephen Hawking’s daughter Lucy is all grown up – she is keeping his legacy alive in the most beautiful way

Stephen Hawking was a visionary physicist and one of the most renowned scientists of modern times. This British scientist was particularly famed for his work with black holes and relativity, and his book, A Brief History of Time, which spent four years at the top of the Sunday Times best-seller list and was sold in millions of copies translated into 40 languages, brought him to stardom.

The book gave an overview of space and time, as well as the future and the existence of God. Hawking went on to write more books.

While he was a teenager, he wasn’t the best in his class. In fact, he was third from the bottom, but during the last two years of school, he was dubbed ‘Einstein’ by his classmates. Being the son of scientists, it didn’t come as a surprise that young Hawking developed love for science himself.

At one point in his life, when he was still a teenager, he fell for mathematics, but his father wasn’t happy about it. “He thought there wouldn’t be any jobs for mathematicians except as teachers. He made me do the chemistry and only a small amount of mathematics. I’m now a professor of mathematics, but I have not had any formal instruction in mathematics since I left St Albans school aged 17,” Hawking said in 2013.

He got a first in Physics from Oxford, and started a PhD at Cambridge.

At the age of 21, Hawkins was diagnosed with ALS and that changed his life forever.

“When you are faced with the possibility of an early death, it makes you realize that life is worth living and that there are lots of things you want to do,” Hawking told New York Times.

“In my last year at Oxford, I noticed I was getting increasingly clumsy. I went to the doctor after falling down some stairs, but all he said was, ‘Lay off the beer,’” but he knew the beer wasn’t the problem.

After an incident on a lake when he fell out skating and wasn’t able to stand up, his mother urged him to go to the hospital. He then underwent a number of tests over the course of two weeks.

“They took a muscle sample from my arm, stuck electrodes into me, and then injected some radio-opaque fluid into my spine and with X-rays watched it go up and down as they tilted the bed. After all that, they didn’t tell me what I had, except that it was not multiple sclerosis and that I was an atypical case,” he recalled.

“I gathered, however, that they expected it to get worse, and there was nothing they could do except give me vitamins, though I could see they didn’t expect them to have much effect. I didn’t ask for more details because they obviously had nothing good to tell me.”

Once they determined he suffered from ALS, or known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Hawking was given two and a half years to live. But he proved doctors wrong and lived a fulfilled life until 76.

When he lost the ability to walk, and later to speak, Hawking communicated through a program called Equalizer, developed by computer expert in California named Walt Woltosz.

“This allowed me to select words from a series of menus on the screen by pressing a switch in my hand. I now use another of his programs, called Words+, which I control by a small sensor on my glasses that responds to my cheek movement,” the great scientist explained. “When I have built up what I want to say, I can send it to a speech synthesizer. One’s voice is very important. If you have a slurred voice, people are likely to treat you as mentally deficient. This synthesizer was by far the best I’d heard because it varies the intonation and didn’t speak like a Dalek from Doctor Who.”

With his wife Jane Wilde, Hawking had three children, among which his only daughter, Lucy Hawking, who is keeping her father’s legacy alive.

“When I was young, he wasn’t the world’s most famous physicist,” Lucy Hawking told Today in 2007.

“The fame didn’t arrive until the publication of “A Brief History of Time,” by which time I was in my late teens. When I was a child, he was well known among physicists, but they are a fairly select, serious bunch, not much given to celebrity idolizing.

What was most striking was the high level of attention his electric wheelchair attracted. I suppose that in the 1970s, it was quite unusual to see a disabled person drive himself around in a wheelchair. People really did stop and stare. (He did drive his chair extremely fast and sometimes in a rather perilous fashion.) I’m so glad that these days, disabled access is so much better and that disabled people are treated with more dignity by the general public.”

Lucy studied French and Russian, and later theater. She worked as a journalist who wrote for several newspapers in both the UK and the US, and then she and her father wrote their first book together.

George’s Secret Key to the Universe revolves around George, who learns about the universe by traveling around and exploring it.

“I have a 9-year–old son, and I thought it would be wonderful if my father and I could write something together that would explain my grandfather’s work to my son. To explain physics to kids, we decided to use the events in the story to illustrate concepts,” Lucy told Today.

“It was a fascinating process. Working with my father was a great thrill — he has the amazing ability to hold enormous amounts of information in his head, but also to pick out relevant details and make brief comments, which can completely transform your way of thinking,” she added.

“My father is an expert when it comes to framing difficult subjects in accessible language. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I felt very honored to have this opportunity.”

Together, they wrote more books.

Youtube/GoodmorningBritain

When Hawking and Lucy’s mother divorced and he married one of his nurses, Lucy was depressed.

Stephen Hawking passed away on March 14, 2018, and Lucy was heartbroken.

“Even though with someone who has been ill for a very long time, you wouldn’t think that their death could shock you, but it did,” Lucy said. “He always said that your legacy was in your children and in the work you left behind.

“And so I think it’s very, very important that we take the elements of the work he did, which lies in his work in cosmology and physics, but also in his outreach in his work in education, his advocacy for the NHS and for disability rights. And we carry that on.”

Even today, Lucy is involved with her late father’s foundation.

‘Money-obsessed’ Meghan wants private jet on command – she thought Harry would be worth hundreds of millions, experts claim

One of the reasons why Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties and left Britain, probably for good, was their desire to raise their children away from the public eye and lead a quiet life. With that said, many found it strange that the couple never really stopped exposing details of their privacy with the world. It all started with the now-infamous Oprah interview during which the Sussexes accused the members of the Firm of racism and mistreatment among the rest.

From that moment on, the couple, who now resides in sunny California, never stopped giving interviews. They secured a five-year $100 million production deal with Netflix, which released their documentary recently, and made deals with Spotify.

Shutterstock.com

In January of this year, Harry published his much-anticipated all-tell memoir Spare which sold in a staggering 1.4 million copies on its first day in the UK, United States, and Canada. Spare has been released in 16 different languages worldwide and is expected to be the best-selling book in 2023.

“We always knew this book would fly, but it is exceeding even our most bullish expectations,” Larry Finlay, managing director of Transworld Penguin Random House, said.

“As far as we know, the only books to have sold more in their first day are those starring the other Harry (Potter).”

Spare, along with Meghan and Harry’s Netflix documentary series and the number of interviews they gave to the media, made their reputation among the British people to drop down to 24 percent compared to 80 percent a decade ago.

Considering the success the memoir reached, sources claim that Random House will encourage Meghan Markle to release an all-tell book herself.

“Nobody expected sales figures like the ones we are seeing,” a source shared with Express UK, adding that the figures have “taken everyone by surprise.”

“Harry could easily overtake the combined book sales of the Obamas, the company’s current joint best-selling authors. That’s why the heat is on to get Meghan’s version of events – both with the Royal Family and her own family members in America – out there in print as soon as possible, ideally early next year to pick-up sales when demand for Spare slows down.

“Having seen Harry’s sales, they’re convinced Meghan’s story in her own words can sell even more, especially in the US,” the industry insider claimed.

As Harry was cut-off financially when he left his royal family behind, he and Meghan have been forced to worked their way of making money and supporting their lavish lifestyle. With the deals they made, Meghan’s net worth of around $60 million and the $14 million princess Diana left Harry, they seem to be doing just fine.

However, royal experts claim that Meghan isn’t happy as “she had imagined [Harry] would be worth hundreds of millions, if not billions, and she is having to make up for it now,” Tom Bower, the author of Reveengee: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, calling the Duchess  “money-obsessed.”

“Her great surprise and disappointment were that Prince Harry had very little money,” Bower told the Express. “She wants to ride in the big Cadillacs, the private jets on command. At the moment, she needs to scrounge for those sorts of things.”

Another royal expert, Daniela Elser, shares Bower’s thoughts. Writing for the New Zealand Herald, she concluded, “Does anyone think [Spotify] might have paid out the full $33 million their contract is said to be worth just for Meghan’s lackluster Archetypes? (It might have debuted with much fanfare, but later episodes failed to set the podcasting charts on fire).

“The issue is not only how much they are making but how tiddly that sum is in contrast with what their new best friends are all raking in,” Elser added.

What are your thoughts on this?

Karen Carpenter would have been 72 today – the first celebrity known to have died from anorexia

Karen and Richard Carpenter formed the famous duo ‘The Carpenters.’ Together, the siblings sold over 100 million records in the 1970s and had 17 top 20 hits. When they signed with A&M Records, Karen was just 19. And as everyone predicted her career would be a long and successful one, her life tragically ended when she was 32.

As a young child, Karen struggled with her weight and had a hard time losing some. The tours and the concerts only made things worse when it came to establishing a proper eating schedule.

“When you’re on the road, it’s hard to eat. Period. On top of that, it’s tough to eat well. We don’t like to eat before a show because I can’t stand singing with a full stomach,” she once said.

Many believed that her overeating had a lot to do with her mother. Karen lacked love and affection from her mom and that affected her eating. At one point, she weighted 145 pounds and hated how she looked in her pictures. In an attempt to shed some weight, Karen hired a personal trainer, but she soon fired him as she wanted to reach her goal herself. Sadly, her obsession with losing weight turned into an eating disorder.

Eventually, she lost 20 pounds and received plenty of compliments. “She lost around 20lbs, and she looked fabulous,” Karen’s boyfriend’s sister, Carol Curb, revealed. “She weighed 110lb or so and looked amazing. If she’d been able to stop there, then life would have been beautiful.”

Unfortunately, Karen started starving herself and only pretended that she was eating in front of her family and friends. Whenever she was having a meal around people, she would cut up her food and move it around her plate trying to give it to those sitting next to her.

When she lost even more weight, she tried to hide that by wearing several layers of clothing. Her agent, Sherwin Bash, told The Guardian, “She would start with a long-sleeved shirt and then put a blouse over that, and a sweater over that and a jacket over that. With all of it, you had no idea of what she had become.”

As her eating disorder worsened, she was forced to seek medical help and was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. Karen was admitted to hospital, and realizing her condition was severe, her mother finally gave her the attention the singer always longed for.

Some two months later, Karen was finally able to continue with her life. Eventually, she fell in love with someone and believed she found the true love of her life, but things didn’t turn out as expected. When she met 39-year-old divorcee Tom Burris, Karen felt like her life was complete. She dreamed of starting a family and having children, but what she didn’t know was that Tom had had vasectomy and hid that from her although he knew just how much she wanted to become a mother. Karen learned of that shortly before her wedding and wanted to call it off, but her mother forced her to proceed with it because she believed that a canceled wedding would affect Karen’s image.

Tom treated Karen poorly and often called her names such as ‘a bag of bones.’ On top of that, he was spending her hard-earned money. Karen was dealing with her anorexia and her career. I was dealing with my real estate problems,” he later said. “I feel totally guilty like I’d like to reverse everything.” In 1981, Karen had had enough and filed for divorce.

She then asked for professional help from Steven Levenkron, a psychotherapist who was an authority on eating disorders. He organized a session with her closest family and friends and asked from them to tell Karen how much they loved and cared for her. And as her brother did that right away, her mom and dad weren’t forthcoming, with Agnes saying, “Well, I’m from the north, and we just don’t do things that way.”

Cherry O’Neil, a close friend of Karen revealed how the singer was having problems with overusing laxatives. “Karen was having particular problems with laxatives. She could not believe she could ever get to a point where she was not dependent on them.”

A month prior to her 33rd birthday, Karen was once again admitted to hospital, this time due to her irregular heartbeat and dehydration. Karen truly wanted to recover, but sadly, a few days later, her mother found her collapsed in a heap face-down in her walk-in closet. Karen’s eating disorder led to a cardiac arrest and she died. Her heart got weak because of vomit-inducing medication called Ipecac that Karen was using during the last days of her life.

Following her passing, professionals asked from the Food and Drug Administration to ban the over-the-counter sale of drugs that induced vomiting.

Karen is believed to be the first known celebrity to die from anorexia nervosa.

Brigitte Bardot is 88 years old now and she looks stunning

Dubbed the ultimate sex symbol of the 1960s, French actress Brigitte Bardot conquered the world the moment she first appeared on screen.

This blonde beauty, who inspired numerous fashion trends over the years, started working as a model at the age of 15, appearing on the cover of Elle magazine. Her immense charm caught the attention of many, and she soon started an acting career, rising to stardom in her native France. However, it didn’t take long before she decided to search for a place under the Hollywood sky.

Bardot appeared on screen for the first time as Javotte Lemoine in Crazy for Love in 1952 and made her first American production in Act of Love with Kirk Douglas in 1953. But it wasn’t until she landed a role in the 1956 film And God Created Women that she created her famous ‘sex kitten’ persona. The film was considered controversial in America, but it helped Bardot redefine the image of the modern woman.

“I’m a girl from a good family who was very well brought up. One day I turned my back on it all and became a bohemian,” she once said.

Publicity photo of Brigitte Bardot in A Very Private Affair.

In 1965, she appeared as herself in the American-made Dear Brigitte with James Stewart, but the film didn’t seem to be a huge success and the American audience was hard to please, but despite that, the fascination with gorgeous Bardot only grew bigger and bigger over the years.

When she starred opposite Sean Connery in the Western movie Shalako in 1968, people had high expectations, but the movie received mixed reviews.

In 1973, at age 39, Bardot retired from acting while still being a major star. This decision confused many, but she had her reasons.

“The majority of great actresses met tragic ends. When I said goodbye to this job, to this life of opulence and glitter, images and adoration, the quest to be desired, I was saving my life,” Bardot told The Guardian.

“In the beginning, I enjoyed having people talking about me, but very quickly, it suffocated and destroyed me. Throughout my 20 years starring in movies, each time filming began, I would break out with herpes.”

Following her retirement, she focused all her time an energy to a close that has always been close to her heart, animal rights, becoming one of the leading animal rights activists in the world and the head of “Foundation Brigitte Bardot.”

“I gave my youth and beauty to men. Now I’m giving my wisdom and my experience, the better part of me, to animals,” she once said.

Speaking of her love for animals, the director of And God Created Beauty and Brigitte’s first husband, Roger Vadim, told People, “She did not get much affection from her parents, and when we started dating, she didn’t want jewels, but a dog.

“She was always allergic to fame, power and everything that connoted success. The innocence and honesty of animals reassured her.”

Bardot’s organization has done plenty for the animals over the years. Among the rest, it offers conservation programs. Further, it has financed a wild animal hospital in Chile and created facilities for mistreated bears in Bulgaria, koalas in Australia, and for elephants in Thailand.

Named “The most beautiful French actresses of all time” by Vogue, Bardot, who is 88 years old, still stuns with her beauty.

Today, she and her fourth husband, Bernard d’Orma, a wealthy businessman, live in the French coastal town of La Madrague.

Asked what gives her strength to star her days, Bardot told Vogue, “The suffering of animals,” and added: “You probably know that I find walking difficult these days. I can’t go for long walks any more, or go swimming. But I’m lucky, compared to what animals suffer. The dozens of letters I receive every day testify to the horrors that animals are still being subjected to.”

Brigitte Bardot is an absolute icon.
