Shortly after appearing on the big screen, actress Tara Reid was dubbed the girl-next-door everyone fell for. Sweet, charming, and young, she conquered Hollywood in a blink of an eye. It’s safe to say that the late ’90s and early ’00s were her years.
Her role of Vicky in the cult comedy American Pie brought her immense popularity and turned her into an A-list actress. Unfortunately, some bad decisions later, she got down on the list.
One would say she made some poor choices when it came to the roles she accepted, and that’s not far from the truth.
As everyone witnessed Reid propelling into the spotlight, we have all seen her vanishing out of it with pretty much the same speed.
Tara changed her persona. From a girl-next-door, she turned into a party queen and magazines started writing that she was a heavy drinker. Her heavy lifestyle led to her show on E!, Taradise, which was far from successful. Wanting to rebuild her reputation, the reality show only made things worse for Tara who struggled to land roles that fit her.
At the same time, she had undergone a procedure to enhance her looks which went terribly wrong and left her feel unattractive.
“I underwent liposuction even though I was slim because I wanted a square abdomen. Everything broke wrong here, despite the fact that I had a lovely body form. My stomach creased and sagged,” the actress revealed.
“I can’t say I’ll never undergo cosmetic surgery again; I’ll have to wait and see whether my opinion changes as I get older. For the time being, I’m content with my physical appearance. I went through a lot of physical and mental pain following liposuction,” Tara added.
The magazines were cruel to her and printed every photo which showed her flaws.
After her success in American Pie dwindled, she was nominated for several Razzle awards.
The Razzies, or Golden Raspberry Awards, are parody awards handed out to actors and films for their failures and shortcomings. Tara received one for her role in My Boss’s Daughter.
Today, however, it looks like she’s doing all in her power to rebuild her career and is currently working on a number of projects. According to her, American Pie 5 is in the works and she’s looking forward to reunite with the crew. “We have to get all the actors and at the same time to get our schedules together…” she said. “We all stay in touch in different ways… When you grow up with someone and you get your first breaks with someone, you can never forget that.”
As per IMBD, the script is still in development, so it’s hard to say when the movie will actually be released.
Among the rest, she has also been working behind the scenes as a producer in the upcoming film Masha’s Mushroom, a thriller that stars Reid, Vivica A. Fox, Billy Zane, and Beverly D’Angelo.

Every person out there dreams of having a place to call their own. However, while some enjoy living in big houses and even mansions, others opt for simplicity and don’t tend to follow trends.
At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter if one lives in the village or the big city, or they own a huge place or a small one, what matters is to feel the cosiness, comfort, and warmth only a home brings.
A man named Richard Aiken, 65, is a man of many talents. He dubs himself a ‘hillbilly’ but the truth is that he is far from one. In fact, Richard has two PhDs, he’s a writer with a number of published books under his belt, a mathematician, an opera singer, and a very skilful carpenter. When he combined all his talents, this man created something out of the ordinary, a tiny home which resembles those depicted in a fairy-tale.
It all started when a friend of Richard’s told him that he had an old cabin in the middle of nowhere that he was trying to get rid of. Was this a sign? Well, it probably was as Richard dreamed of owning a cabin for a longer period of time. He was longing for spending time in peaceful and relaxing nature because that brought solace to his soul.
Richard said he was willing to buy it. His friend offered it for free, but Richard insisted to pay for it and gave his friend $100.
The cabin was old, dirty, and dilapidated. The roof was in a very bad condition too, and it wasn’t a safe place to live in.
Richard’s wife and children advised him to knock it down and built a new one, but Richard didn’t like the idea. Instead, he found the process of renovation pretty challenging and decided to go for it. He knew that he possessed the skills to make this happen, and he was right.
With a lot of hard work, Richard transformed the old cabin into a magical place. It did take a lot of time for his project to be finished, but the final result was definitely worth it.

Kathleen Turner rose to prominence during the early ’80s and became a sex symbol adored by many. However, her appearance changed drastically over the years and she no longer resemble her older self.
During her successful career, Turner starred alongside the likes of Steve Martin, Michael Douglas and Jack Nicholson, but today, many can’t help but wonder what happened to the Romancing the Stone star.
Landing major roles was her thing. She received nominations and a number of awards for her acting, but then, as years went on, her popularity decreased and her career was affected.
It was around 1994 when Turner opened up about the reasons which led to her acting career to slow down and explained that she battled an autoimmune disease which caused her a lot of pain and fevers. In the early ’90s, Turner was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. The prognosis were dull and doctors told her she would eventually end up in a wheelchair. As she had already experienced all of the symptoms and had a hard time walking and turning her head because of the swelling in her wrists, many claimed that she became a heavy drinker.
In 2009, Turner wrote a piece for the Daily Mail, in first person.
“Suddenly, all that stuff about having good looks and being sexy took secondary position to just being able to walk without pain,” the actress who provide the voice of Jessica Rabbit in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, wrote.
“I was eventually prescribed steroids, which helped a little, but they made me look so puffy and bloated that rumours began to circulate that I was an alcoholic or a drug addict. I thought it might be safer to let people believe whatever they wanted.”
The devastating diagnosis and all the medications she was forced to take took their toll and affected her physical appearance.
In her memoir, the actress wrote, “The press were merciless. They snipped that I became fat and unrecognizable because I was an angry, washed-up diva, an out-of-control has been when in truth the changes in my physical appearance were caused by drugs and chemotherapy and were not within my control. Still, I did not reveal what was happening to me.”
Today, Turner’s rheumatoid arthritis is in reemission and she says she has gymnastics and Pilates to thank for that.
Turner was married to real estate entrepreneur Jay Weiss, with whom she has a daughter. The couple divorced in 2007 after 23 years of marriage.
These days, although her career is not as active as back in the day, Turner does appear in movies and in the theatre.

An eight-year-old Russian girl named Maria Chelysheva was left orphaned after she lost both her parents, her brother, and her grandmother in a tragic incident which took place in their family home.
All four members of the family were killed one by one by deadly gas caused from rotten potatoes.
The first person to enter the cellar where the potatoes were stored was Maria’s father, 42-year-old Mikhail Chelyshev, respected law professor. As he failed to return for quite some time, his wife Anastasia, 38, followed him in order to check out on him. Sadly, she didn’t return back either. This caused suspicion at their son, 18-year-old Georgy, who went into search of his parents but suffered the same tragic death after inhaling the highly toxic fumes released by the rotten potatoes.
Maria’s grandma, 68-year-old Iraida, called a neighbor and asked for help as she knew something was very wrong. After that, she went to the cellar herself and was killed as well.
However, as she entered the cellar, she left the door open and that helped the fumes to dispense. Luckily, when little Maria decided to follow after her family, the gasses weren’t strong enough to harm her.
The shocking tragedy took place at Laishevo, a town near Kazan, in the Russian republic of Tatarstan on the Volga River.
Local investigator spoke to the media and said, “They all died of gas poisoning which has accumulated in the basement as a result of badly rotting potatoes.”
The potatoes stored at the cellar turned into a chemical bomb that caused the death of four people.
Potatoes contain solanine, a glycoalkaloid, which has a strong toxic action, even in small quantities. This toxin affects the nervous system, causing weakness and confusion.
These compounds are generally concentrated in its leaves, stems, sprouts, and fruits and are partially destroyed with cooking. According to the U.S. National Toxicology Program, the average American consumes at most 12.5 mg/day of solanine from potatoes, a dose several times smaller than the toxic dose.

For every mom-to-be, the most special photos are those that depict them proudly showing their bellies. These photos are a reminder of the pregnancy, which represents a unique journey which ends with giving birth to a new life.
Angeline Moser, an expecting mother in the ninth month of pregnancy, and her husband Dan, were making plans for a photoshoot. They were overly excited about taking mesmerizing photos that they decided not to hire a professional photographs, because who else could have captured all that beauty that was shining from the inside out instead of Dan himself.
The couple didn’t have any seconds thoughts when they both agreed that the best and most magical place for their photoshoot would be the beach.
Angeline put on her stunning maternity dresses, but little did she know that a special creature would add to the uniqueness of her photographs.
As he was taking the photos, Dan caught something jumping out of the water. He snapped the shots and knew his wife would love them because of the gracious dolphin in the background.
The final result were photos resembling a scene from a Disney movie.

We should teach our children how to cultivate their love and respect for the country from an early age, and young Drake Grillo’s mother knows how to do it just the right way. Her three-year-old son is a real performer in the making, and a true patriot, as he’s the youngest person to perform the National Anthem in Carrier Dome’s history.
The sweet boy is so focused on doing this right that he doesn’t seem to care for all those eyes staring at him in awe. He sang his heart out and people are loving his performance so much that the video has been seen more than half a million times already.
His flawless effort of conveying the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner across the place was saluted by standing ovations.
“I just think he’s too little to realize how big of a deal it is,”
said Drake’s mother, Chelsea. She stood by her son’s side as he sang the America’s Anthem.
“We just try to stay calm for him and not really talk it up. We don’t ask him if he’s nervous. So then maybe he won’t think of that. I don’t he really knows what nervous is yet.”
This wasn’t the first time for Drake to perform the Anthem. Back in July, he treated the crowd at a minor league baseball game in New York with his stunning talent. And according to Tip Hero, this skillful singer is looking forward to his next performance.

Bill and Hillary Clinton are one of the most influential couples in America and their love story is somewhat extraordinary. They have been together for nearly 46 years and went through thick and thin in order to keep their marriage going strong.
Bill has always been interested in politics, even as a teenager. Being extremely bright and an outstanding student, he got the chance to enrol some of the most prestigious schools in the country. Following high school, Bill attended Georgetown University. Then, in 1986, he won a Rhodes Scholarship to attend Oxford University, and later on earned his law degree at Yale University.

Those who knew him well were aware of his political aspirations. Bill’s love for politics grew even stronger after a very special meeting with then-President John F Kennedy during a visit of the White House Rose Garden as a delegate to Boys Nation.

As we all know, young Bill kept that promise and served as the 42nd President of the United States of America. During his successful presidency, he got involved in an affair with intern Monica Lewinsky, which overshadowed a considerable chunk of his legacy in the White House.
Monica was 22 at the time and the affair lasted for two years before everyone learned about it. Her phone had been tapped and her calls recorded in secret, and in the end, she had to testify before a grand jury. A great part of her conversations with the President were released in the media and her life was destroyed. All she wanted was to have her anonymity back, something which isn’t possible even today.

As the affair became known to the world, all eyes were on Bill’s wife, Hillary. Despite the scandal, she never left Bill’s side.
In her memoir, published in 2003, Hillary opened up about her marriage and wrote that choosing to stay with Bill was one of “the most difficult decisions I have made in my life.”
Further, in an interview with Barbara Walters, Hillary said, “I was furious, I was dumbfounded, I was … just beside myself with anger and disappointment,” and added, “You know, I couldn’t imagine how he could have done that to me or to anyone else.”
But their love story and what they felt for one another was a reason enough for Hillary to forgive Bill for his infidelity.

Bill and Hillary first met while they both attended Yale. Recalling their first encounter, Bill said, “In the spring of 1971, I met a girl. The first time I saw her, we were appropriately enough in a class on political and civil rights. She had thick blonde hair, big glasses, wore no makeup. And she exuded this sense of strength and self-possession that I found magnetic.”
One day, they were studying in opposite sides of the law library when she noticed that he kept starring at her. It was then that she decided to approach him and introduce herself. “Look, if you’re going to keep staring at me, and now I’m staring back. We at least oughta know each other’s name. I’m Hillary Rodham, who are you?” Bill recalled Hillary telling him.
Shortly after their encounter, he asked her out on a date.
“She exuded this sense of strength and self-possession that I found magnetic,” Bill recalled during the 2016 Democratic National Convention. “I just went ahead and asked her to take a walk down to the art museum. We’ve been walking, talking, and laughing together ever since.”

As they were both interested in politics and shared love for the same things, he knew she was the one. Before saying ‘I do,’ Hillary turned Bill’s proposal to marry him twice. She just believed she wasn’t ready at the time.
“Bill was in a different universe. It was a different level of connection. I felt like he was the most interesting man I ever met, and ever would meet,” Hillary said in a Hulu documentary.
Recalling those times, Hillary shared with Girls star Lena Dunham that she was “terrified” of losing her identity and getting lost in the “kind of wake” of “Bill’s force-of-nature-personality.”
When he proposed for the third time, she finally agreed and the two tied the knot at an intimate ceremony.
“I married my best friend. I was still in awe, after more than four years of being around her, at how smart, and strong, and loving, and caring she was,” Bill once said of their wedding day.
“It was a big leap of faith, and I think most marriages are,” Hillary added.

The Clintons are now grandparents of three beautiful grandchildren with whom they spend quality time.
On their 45th anniversary, they both posted on the social media.
“October 11th was a beautiful day 45 years ago. Still is. The bride was beautiful too. And still is,” Bill Clinton tweeted. “Happy Anniversary, Hillary. I love you.”
“Forty-five years. Never a dull moment, and you’re still my best friend,” Hillary wrote on Instagram. “Love you, Bill,” she wrote in a post.

Captain Steve Biakanja of San Jose Fire Station 16 experienced what no parents should ever go through. He lost all of his three children in a car crash after the Tesla his ex-wife and the mother of his children drove suddenly veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into a tractor-trailer.
The tragic accident in which Biakanja’s children and his ex-wife lost their lives happened on Highway 156 in Hollister.
The three siblings, twins Leigh and Lucy, 14, and their brother Ben, 12, had just recently changed schools. The three enrolled Carmel Middle School before they attended Tularcitos Elementary School.

The devastating news deeply affected their teachers and classmates.
Ted Knight, superintendent for the school district, spoke to the media regarding the tragedy and said, “Coming back, the second week of school to this news this morning was certainly very tragic and was hard for a lot of staff and students to hear.
“Some students did need to go home. Some students are in our wellness center talking to mental health professionals. Others might have just needed a little quiet time.”

The one who suffered the greatest loss is the heartbroken father whose life crashed into a million pieces.
In order to help him during these times of grief, the staff at the Fire Station 16 set up a GoFundMe page.
The funds raised will be used to cover the children’s funeral costs, as well as counselling, meals, and other forms of support for Biakanja and his current wife Thaun.
“At San Jose Fire, each member of the team is considered family, and in times of need, a family must stand together. Captain Biakanja has stood guard for his community for years, living out the department’s creed of, ‘For the Kids,’ in service to his people. In his time of need, we ask for your assistance for his kids. With your help, we can do our best to ease the burden of this tragedy and to honor the memory of his beloved children,” the description said.

The accident is still under investigation and it remains unknown how the Tesla veered into oncoming traffic. According to Biakanja’s current wife, the vehicle did not have the Tesla auto-pilot feature.
The three children led fulfilling lives and showed interests in different fields. Lucy was a huge animal lover who raised chickens and doves while her twin sister Leigh loved football and science. The girls’ younger brother was interested in the Second World War and left behind his collection of World War II memorabilia.
