Bullying occurs way more often than any of us can ever imagine. The sad truth is that is most often takes place at schools, the places where children should feel safe and secure.
A boy named Jonathan had fallen victim of bullying and it lasted for a very long time. One day, he was severely beaten. Having autism, it seems it’s hard for the students at his school to accept him as their friend. Instead, they make fun of him and call him names.
One day while on the bus, a kid got near him and started calling him fat and stupid.
Jonathan put on headphones so he wouldn’t have to listen to the bully and went about his day. But on the bus ride home, things got much worse.

Another student beat up Jonathan. He crushed his glasses, broke his lip, and left bruises on his face.
Jonathan’s autism makes it difficult to have self-control. But on that day, he made lots of people proud. He didn’t fight back.

At the time of the incident, a group of firefightes from the local station approached Jonathan, called him mom, and drove him home.
During the ride, Jonathan felt so comfortable that he told the firefighters about his condition and told them what he wants to do when he grows up.
The firefighters dropped him off at home and drove away. But what Jonathan didn’t know was that it wouldn’t be the last time he’d meet his heroes.

That same evening, some people showed up in Jonathan’s front yard and had a huge surprise for the young man.
When he realized they were the firefighters who helped him earlier that they, he was over the moon. They had some new shoes for him.
“That’s all for you for being such a great kid, for keeping your cool, for not losing it, and for being the better person,” the firefighters told Jonathan.

Jonathan himself had a message for his bully:
“I would like to tell that student that I forgive him, and would like to be his friend. My mom and I talked yesterday, and would like to invite the student who did this to dinner with us, so that he can see that we are not different, just because we look different.”
Jonathan is an inspiration for all – and we can learn a lot from his kind heart. The firefighters’ gesture to him was so nice, and I think Jonathan will go far in life.

Nowadays, people get easily offended by things we somehow considered normal back in the day. Sometimes, these feelings are totally justified, while other times, they seem like nothing but exageration.
It is up to you to decided whether the young woman from the following story was right about getting mad with Target for selling what she considered a very offensive sweater.
Namely, Reign Murphy is a regular customer at the store, so one day, she decided to go shopping. Among the plenty of stuff offered there, her attention was attracted by a red sweater. However, once she picked it in her hand, she was shocked by what was written on it. The sweater said: “OCD Obsessive Cristmas Disorder.” Having been suffering from this psychological disorder around 2.2 million Americans suffer from, she was deeply offended. Reign believed the store shouldn’t have mocked with something like that.

She then snapped a photo of the sweater and shared it on Twitter. The number of shares and comments surprised her. Many people shared her opinion and believed the writing on the piece of clothing was ofending in deed. Of course, there were aslo those thought the message was neither disrespectful nor hurtful, despite dealing with the condition themselves.
Target spokesperson, Jessica Carlson, apologized to those offended by the product but said they won’t stop selling it.

Previously, another woman claimed some of the designes sold at Target were insulting, such as the shirts with signatures such as “bride,””trophy,” and “Mrs.”
According to her, these designes led to the belief that a woman could be bought or sold.

People being all alone at old age is something that is way too common. Their children create their own families and move away, and many elderly are left by themselves with no one by their side.
Wanda is a 90-year-old lady from San Francisco, California, who was longing for some company for so long. Finally, she decided to do something about it, gathered the courage, and left a heartfelt note on one of her neighbor’s front door.
When Marleen Brooks saw the handwritten note, it made her ” heart sad,” but at the same time she was happy she would make a new friend.
The note said: Would you consider to become my friend. I’m 90 years old- live alone. All my friends have passed away. I’m so lonesome and scared. Please I pray for someone.”

Marleen paid Wanda a visit that same day. She introduced herself, brought some cupcakes, and spent some quality time with her elderly neighbor.
The visit was a great one, and Marleen decided to share the story behind this new friendship with Frank Somerville of KTVU News because she knew there are other people like Wanda out there who were feeling lonely and were in need of company. She believed it would make others reach to their elderly neighbors and be there for them.
“Frank! She’s such a sweet lady! And she was over the moon when we came over. Wanda said: ‘I hope you didn’t think I was stupid for writing you, but I had to do something. Thank you so much for coming over. I’ve lived here for 50 years and don’t know any of my neighbors.’ Wanda has 3 sons, one died last year of cancer. The other two live far away. She’s 90 and and is on oxygen and has congestive heart failure, osteoporosis, among other ailments. We brought her cupcakes (didn’t have enough time with work to make the banana bread). I also made sure she knew she can call us at anytime and that I’ll be back to spend time with her! I’m sure Wanda and I will have some great times.”
The story touched the hearts of thousands of people. “I love this story,” Frank wrote in response. “And I’m so happy for Wanda. But as I said in my first post, there are so many others out there who are lonely just like Wanda. I would ask that maybe you consider knocking on their door and saying hi. I know it would mean the world to them. And who knows, maybe you’ll make a new friend.”
I believe we should all act the way Marleen did and be there for one another.

In order to keep restaurants move forwards, some celebs, including Donnie Wahlberg, started the “Tip Challenge.” They influenced other famous people to leave $2,020 tip to servers and restaurant employees.
While dining at one of his favorite places in Massachusetts, Donnie left $2,020 tip on a $35.27 bill. Of course, he didn’t brag about it. People only learned of his generous act after the restaurant shared the story.
One person who was inspired to do the same was Tom Selleck.
It was reported that the Magnum P.I star left a generous tip of $2,020 for a server after a meal at a restaurant in New York at the end of 2020.

Donnie, who stars alongside Tom in Blue Bloods, wrote on Twitter, “I found out that my TV Dad Tom Selleck has generously accepted the #2020TipChallenge at Elios Upper East Side! Love ya dad.”
“Tom never mentioned it to me,” Donnie told People. “We’ve done three [Blue Bloods] dinner scenes since he did it and he never told me.”
Apparently, the message Tom left for the server read, “For Elios, I am honoring my friend Donnie Wahlberg’s ‘tip challenge’ with my sincere hope for a better 2020. Thank you all.”
Since the pandemic, which affected many business and claimed the lives of many people, is still ongoing, we hope celebs would continue this challenge at the end of 2021 as well.
Every proposal is magical all by itself because it becomes a memory one cherishes until the rest of their life. The following proposal, however, is likely the most special one we’ve ever witnessed because it doesn’t involve two lovebirds, but a stepdad and a stepdaughter.
When Tim Bobbit became part of Annie’s life, her daughter from her previous marriage, Kylee, welcomed him with arms wide open. The two created a bond only a father and a daughter can share, despite not being related by blood. What’s most, Tim is Kylee’s biggest fan and never misses any of her cheerleading and dance competitions.

On the day he married Kylee’s mother, Kylee read a letter at the altar, asking Tim to adopt her. He was more than happy to grant her her wish.
It took several months for the legal paperwork to be settled. Eventually, after he was able to finish everything, Tim and Annie decided to surprise Kylee when she least expected it. They staged a photoshoot so Tim could propose to Kylee and ask her to be his daughter.

When the right time came, Tim got down on one knee and said: “I absolutely love going to all your cheer and dance comps.
“I love watching you grow into the beautiful young lady you are. I love being the person you come to when you are hurt or scared. I love holding your hand when we walk through the store or when you’re scared to ride the roller coaster.”

“But most of all Kylee,” he continued, “I look forward to the day I can walk you down the aisle when you marry because that’s what fathers do. The reason why I can say that is because today, in front of all our family and friends, is the day I get to adopt you.”
Kylee couldn’t contain her tears and hugged her new father.
After the heartwarming moment, Kylee, her mom, and her new dad went to the courthouse to sign the adoption papers.
The video of the sweet “proposal” was later shared on YouTube where it was seen by more than 10 million people.
Many were touched by this family’s beautiful story. One person wrote: “Had to dry my eyes, beautiful story, and she is a very beautiful young lady. Thank you for sharing this story with us. My wife and I are working to adopt a child so this story is very touching and heartwarming.”

When his mom and dad learned Misha had Down Syndrome, they were both crushed and devastated. It was mostly because of the fact they were totally unfamiliar with the condition, something his father, Evgeny Anisimov, was more than willing to learn, unlike the baby boy’s mother who gave up on him and wanted to place him in foster care.
Evgeny never thought of leaving his son behind, Down Syndrome or not, Misha was his sweet baby boy and he was more than happy to embark on the adventure called fatherhood together with the little one, although it meant he would do it without his wife by his side.

The good thing is that most European countries, including Russia, where Evgeny and Misha are from, treat people with Down Syndrome as completely normal individuals.
They are involved in every aspect of the society, attend regular schools, and are taught how to live independently. It was something that encouraged Evgeny even further not to ever leave his son.

“I remember that upon learning that my son has Down Syndrome, I left the hospital and cried, but not for long. Later, I was a little embarrassed by these tears. In my life, after all, nothing had changed, in general. I was still with two arms, with two legs, my professional knowledge had gone nowhere.
“My determination, activity, curiosity, and so on—everything was with me. Everything happened as I planned, my son was born. But the child is special, his life and future destiny are already very significant. And I’m roaring here!” the proud dad told Bored Panda.

Baby Misha is still very young to know what is happening around him, but his father is making sure more and more people become aware of how special people with Down Syndrome are.
With such devoted and incredibly loving father, we are sure Misha will have a perfect childhood and an awesome life. And, yes, we are sure the boy’s mom will regret her decision to be missing being part of Misha’s life.

A woman from Cook County, Illinois, named Danielle Cruz was planning to sell her family’s house located in the neighborhood of Chatham. Her husband renovated the place entirely and they arranged for a handyman to do some tiny repairs. One day, however, the handyman called Danielle and told her that the house wasn’t vacant, someone was living there.
At first, they thought he was joking, but they soon learned that a woman moved into their home with all her belongings. They called the police and went to the house they were planning to sell in order to have the woman removed from their property. But then, another shock followed. The officers said they could do nothing about the squatter because she claimed she had signed a month-to-month lease with the owner, which of course wasn’t true.

“They said unfortunately they couldn’t prove she was trespassing. We have to go to court and follow the eviction process,” devastated Danielle said.
Although Danielle denied ever meeting the woman who occupied her home, police said the woman had a lease document, making the case a civil matter that could only be settled in eviction court.
The problem is that such cases are being handled between six, twelve, and even eighteen months, a period during which Danielle and her husband are helpless to do anything.
“I definitely do feel violated. I own this house, and it feels like if anyone can just break into your house and kind of take over, that’s a scary feeling,” Danielle said.

She even said she tried getting in touch with the squatter so that they could find a solution, but the woman refused.
“You know, we’re trying to live the American dream. They say own property, you know, we are trying to provide for our family. And then this happens, and it almost makes you never want to own anything. It’s not worth it.”

Danielle’s neighbors stood by her side and they hope her problems would come to an end any time soon. One of the neighbors said: “Well, it’s disgusting. It’s stealing, and it’s not right.” Another neighbor, Quintara Smith, added, “No one wants to come back, and someone is living in a property. It’s frightening. I mean, that can happen to anybody.”

Daisy and Kris were still very young when their mother left them for good. Being 9 and 5, the children couldn’t possibly understand why their mother wasn’t by their side any longer. As days passed by and they didn’t hear from her, the siblings got even more devastated by the though that their mom didn’t care enough to give them an explanation.
Their dad, Jim, was there for them and provided comfort.
All of a sudden, from being a careless girl, 9-year-old Daisy became like a mother to her little brother. Instead of playing with her friends, she made sure Kris was fed. She put him to sleep and cared for him together with her dad.

Not able to fill the void their mother’s absence left in their hearts, Jim asked Oprah Winfrey to help him with his children’s feeling.
Once on the show, a therapists worked with Daisy and Kris and asked from them to put their emotions on a piece of paper.
“Dear Mom, I miss you so much… I miss baking cookies as a family and you helping us do our homework. I still love you, Mom, but what you did in the past makes me not love you so much like I used to,” Daisy, who was 11 at the time the episode aired, wrote.

Her brother Kris wrote: “When I think of you and Daddy not living together, I feel so sad. I do not understand why you got divorced. Sometimes I dream about Dad being sad. About not having you around. I wish that you didn’t get a divorce.”
The children always dressed up for their sessions with the therapist, and Kris even bough a fake ring thinking she would appear one day.

Five years after appearing on Oprah, the production got in touch with Misty, the children’s mother. She was serving time in a nearby jail after failing to pay child support and producing fake financial documents.
When Oprah contacted her, Misty had a different story to tell. She claimed it was her ex-husband Jim who prevented her from seeing her kids. However, Daisy and Kris didn’t think that was the case.
As Kris didn’t want to meet Misty because he said it would be overwhelming for him, Daisy did agree to see her. Asked why she wanted to meet her mother after so much time and whether she was mad at her, the girl said: “I need to know why she did what she did and to get the apology because I deserve it.”

However, Daisy, who was 16 at the time, added that a single apology wouldn’t be enough. It would be a long road before she could forgive her mom for abandoning her. “I’m the only girl in this house. How am I supposed to live like this?”
Meeting her mom wasn’t easy because it reminded Daisy of all those years she spent without her. She recalled how embarrassing it felt when Jim had to teach her how to do the “girl stuff.” Daisy said to her mom: “All my memories of you are terrible!” The girl added that she was aware her mom cheated on her father.

Misty offered her apology and promised to never leave her children again if given the chance to be part of their lives again.
This story is just a reminder to never fight or say bad words in front of your children. What seems like a simple argument between grownups can affect the children’s feelings in ways that are hard to be fixed later on.
