Naomi Pomeroy, widely recognized for her culinary skills on Top Chef, has tragically passed away.
The Portland chef’s body was found in a river on July 17, after being reported missing a few days prior. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that she drowned.
The investigation showed that Pomeroy, her husband Kyle Linden Webster, and a friend became entangled while on tubes and a paddleboard that were connected.
Members of the Corvallis Fire Department retrieved the other two adults on the shore and transported them safely to a boat launch. Sadly, they were initially unable to recover Pomeroy, according to the sheriff’s office.

At the time of her disappearance, Sheriff Van Arsdall said, “This office is dedicated to locating Naomi and bringing her home to her family and loved ones. I want to thank all involved in the search and recovery mission during this difficult time.”
Her body was located after it was spotted by a group of canoers. According to officials, she was unable to free herself because of the paddle board leash.

Pomeroy was a prominent figure in the Oregon culinary scene. She made a name for herself in Portland after opening her first restaurant, Beast, in 2007. Two years later, she was recognized as one of Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs.
In 2013, she and her husband launched a Portland cocktail bar named Expatriate. The following year, she received a James Beard Award for Best Chef: Northwest and Pacific.
Pomeroy appeared on Iron Chef as well as Top Chef Masters, while she also served as guest judge on Top Chef in seasons 10, 15, and 18.

Prince Harry’s actions following his departure from his family have affected his relationship with the Firm. In an attempt to protect his wife from the pressure and the scrutiny from the British media and prevent the history from repeating itself, referring to his late mother, he and Meghan settled in California, but they didn’t stay silent or out of the limelight.
On the contrary, both Harry and Meghan were eager to share details about the members of the British royalty and gave a number of interviews in which they revealed plenty of things that were taking place behind closed doors.
Among the rest, Harry opened up about his step-mother, Queen Camilla. In his all-tell memoir, Spare, Harry wrote that his first meeting with Camilla was “awkward and tense,” adding that his brother William had “long harbored suspicions about the Other Woman.”
“I think the relationship between them all is warm now but if I’m honest, it wasn’t then. I think they found it hard,” a palace source told royal biographer Penny Junor, author of Prince William: Born to be King. “To be fair to Camilla, she never tried to be mummy but she was the ‘other woman’ and she was there and taking daddy’s time.”

The relationship between William and Camilla improved significantly over the years and they are said to be close, which can’t be said for Harry’s relationship with his father’s wife.
In her book The Palace Papers, royal author Tina Brown wrote that Harry “unnerved” Camilla.
“When the younger boy was eventually prevailed upon to be in the presence of Mrs Parker Bowles, he unnerved her with long silences and smouldering, resentful stares,” she quoted a courtier saying.
“William has accepted Camilla in terms of what she means to his father. He’s been grown-up about it.
“My father loves this woman, I can’t fight it, so I won’t,” Brown shared with Telegraph.
“Harry, on the other hand, can’t stand Camilla, he doesn’t want Camilla to be Queen, he’s very angry that it’s happening. He has not made his peace with it, and he probably never will.”

When Harry was informed of his father’s cancer diagnosis, he went to Britain and the two met briefly. Camilla, however, was said to be unhappy with her step-son meeting her husband without the Palace’s approval.
“Her Majesty was furious Harry flew in from his ritzy California home without getting palace approval — and came with an attitude,” a source is said to have told the National Enquirer, via RadarOnline.
The same report stated that Harry asked from Camilla to leave the room because he wanted to talk to his father in private.
“I’m told Camilla was outraged,” the source went on. “She’s taken a lot of bile from Harry for years and couldn’t wait to let him have it.”

Harry’s writings about Camilla enraged Charles and further affected the relationship between them.
“I think people have to realize that the one thing that Charles finds unforgivable is criticism of Camilla,” royal expert Christopher Andersen told Fox.
“There’s no criticism of Camilla,” Andersen added. “And unfortunately for Harry… Harry said some pretty devastating things about her. He made it clear that he felt she was… the villain in the piece. I think that still bothers the king, and I don’t know that it will be easy for him to [forgive]. I don’t think they’ll ever forgive Harry for that.”

Following Charles’ cancer diagnosis, Camilla stepped in and took a lot of responsibilities regarding royal engagements. She certainly doesn’t want Charles to be distracted, and one of those distractions is Prince Harry.
“Camilla dislikes Harry and doesn’t want Charles to get stressed while he’s undergoing treatment, so she tries to limit interaction,” a source told OK Magazine.
One thing is certain, the feud between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals is still ongoing. We are yet to witness if things between them would improve in the time to come.

Following the scare which left him injured and forced him to undergo back surgery, the musician and producer tried to warn others of the dangers of electric bikes. “The one I had was basically a motorcycle with an electric engine when you have to wear a proper crash helmet, leathers. This thing was nuts,” he said. “I didn’t know how powerful it was before I got on it. And I fly 6-8 feet in the air and landed on my spine.”

It’s been ten years since the world lost one of the best actors and comedians, Robin Williams.
This artist, who was larger than life, touched millions of hearts. His smile was contagious and he possessed the ability to make everyone laugh. So, when he ended his life, his fans had a hard time understanding how someone so cheerful and fun could die in such a horrific manner.
But there was more to the story than met the eye.
The autopsy revealed that Williams had Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), a neurological disease in which protein deposits, called Lewy bodies, develop in nerve cells in the brain regions involved in thinking, memory and movement (motor control), and not Prskinson’s disease as doctors claimed during his life.
During the last years of his life, Williams’ health started to fail. The man who could memorize thousands of lines without making a single mistake started having troubles remembering on set. Unfortunately, that frustrated him a great deal and led to anxiety. “It was a period for him of intense searching and frustration,” his son Zak said speaking to Max Lugavere for the podcast The Genius Life, as reported by Fox News. “It’s just devastating.”

William’s wife, Susan Schneider Williams, also opened up about the actor’s misdiagnosis. “All 4 of the doctors I met with afterwards and who had reviewed his records indicated his was one of the worst pathologies they had seen. He had about 40% loss of dopamine neurons and almost no neurons were free of Lewy bodies throughout the entire brain and brainstem,” she wrote for Neurology.
Susan described Williams’ health condition prior to his passing and said it deteriorated and no one knew what to expect next as it all started with the actor experiencing stomach cramps, heartburn, and digestive problems, and later developed a resting tremor in his left hand, which was thought to be brought on by a prior shoulder injury.
According to new reports, the actor’s final days were agonizing and tumultuous, while Susan described it as though her husband was “living a nightmare…”

William’s passing saddened his close friends. One of them, Sir Billy Connolly, spoke of William and his decision to take his own life and said, “You have to give a guy the position that he’s wise enough to make up his own mind.” Asked if he wouldn’t have tried to save his life, Connolly said, “I don’t think so.”
Connolly, who has been suffering from Parkisnon’s disease, the same disease Williams was misdiagnose with, said he and the late actor used to speak on the phone, expressing their close friendship and appreciation for one another.

During the week of his passing, William called Connolly and invited him over to dinner.
“He phoned me and said, ‘Let’s have dinner,’ and during the dinner, he said, ‘I love you.’ I said thanks very much. He said, ‘Do you believe me?’ I said ‘Of course I do.’ He said, ‘Believe me, I love you.’ I said, ‘That’s great.’”
“I thought ‘how weird, how weird for him to say that, it’s not like his usual.’ He was dead on the weekend,” Connolly continued.

We are sure how most of us have fond memories of going to the zoo when we were young. The anticipation of actually seeing wild beasts that we had only learned about from the books was an incredible experience. Fifi, a lovely bear, was caged for 30 years. She was brought to the Pennsylvania Zoo when she was still a cub and was forced to spend years of her life entertaining the crowds.
Just like in the circus, Fifi performed tricks for the visitors and lived under horrific conditions.
With the prices going up, people are looking for ways of saving money and finding stores that offer items at more affordable prices.

Actor James Earl Jones, famous for lending his powerful voice to characters like Darth Vader in Star Wars and Mufasa in The Lion King, passed away at 93.
Representatives confirmed with Deadline that the actor died peacefully at his home in Dutchess County, New York.
Jones was born January 17, 1931 in Arkabutla, Mississippi and raised by his grandparents in Dublin, Michigan. At a young age, he struggled with stuttering but grew to become one of the most famous and most distinctive voices in the history of film.
“I was a stutterer. I couldn’t talk,” Jones recalled in a 1996 interview. “So my first year of school was my first mute year, and then those mute years continued until I got to high school.”
He worked hard to overcome the condition and was encouraged by one of his teachers to read poetry out loud in order to improve his speech.

Over time, his deep resonant voice became his signature and helped him land some of cinema’s most iconic and unforgettable roles.
Jones’ acting career, which spanned decades, started at Broadway in 1957, when he had his debut. He quickly conquered the stage and made a name for himself, thus won a Tony Award for his role in The Great White Hope in 1969. This same role, which he reprised in the 1970 film adaptation led to a Golden Globe Award and his first Academy Award nomination.
Jones went on to earn a second Tony Award for Fences and a Special Tony Award for lifetime achievement.

His place in the film industry was cemented when he started voicing the storied antagonist Darth Vader in the Star Wars franchise, starting with 1977’s Star Wars. He continued to voice Vader for decades, in the two sequels The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the prequel Revenge of the Sith and the spin-off Rogue One. When he retired from the role in 2022, Jones signed an agreement which said his voice could be used in future projects using artificial intelligence and archive recordings.
His portrayal of Mufasa in Disney’s The Lion King further established him as a defining voice in cinematic history.
Throughout his long and successful career, Jones landed a number of roles, including ones in Conan the Barbarian, Coming to America, Field of Dreams, and The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games and The Sandlot, among the rest.
In 2011, Jones received an Honorary Academy Award, placing him on the list of just few actors who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Award.

Broadway’s Cort Theatre was renamed the James Earl Jones Theatre in his honor in 2022, which further testifies of his prominence as a stage actor.
