Journalist Chris Cuomo Opens Up About the Bizarre Symptoms He Experienced While Battling COVID-19

The coronavirus pandemic seemed to slow the whole world down. The number of people affected grows with each passing day and no one can tell with certainty when this madness will be over, but one thing we know for sure is that this virus doesn’t discriminate. Young or old, rich or poor, famous or not, it can affect anyone.

Understandably, he felt scared at the beginning as he didn’t know how things will progress. Although the symptoms the virus causes are more or less the same at most of the people affected and include cough, fever, and shortness of breath, they manifest with different level of intensity at different individuals.

Cuomo was so worried after the diagnosis that he had troubles sleeping and spent the first days sitting in a pool of his own sweat.

But then, after he came to terms with the reality and spoke to a pulmonary expert, Cuomo became aware it was up to him to fight “the beast” off.

Further, he says how the expert told him things could get ugly unless he follows some of the advice which included activities that felt painful during those moments, such as getting up, holding his breath and then taking a deep one, and stretching his torso.

“You’ve got to do the things that will beat this virus. You’ve got to breath deep when it hurts—and it hurts,” Cuomo explains.

Some of the other things you can do and are crucial in the fight against this evil virus is drink a lot of water, take the Tylenol, and breath deep, especially when it hurts. These all worked for Cuomo, so we honestly hope his experience will help others end up winners themselves.

Please take a look at the video below and hear Cuomo’s experience of battling Covid-19 first hand. Share it with your friends, maybe it will reach someone who is fighting the same battle.

Cruel Babysitter Accused of Burning 6-Month-Old’s Feet for ‘Crying Too Much’

When a person agrees to become a babysitter and take care of other people’s children, they should be perfectly aware that little kids can be demanding. And yes, babies and toddlers sometimes cry for no apparent reason, so it’s the sitter’s job to find ways to calm them down and show compassion and tenderness.

The reality is that we have heard of so many stories of babysitters abusing and mistreating the children under their care that we should always be extra cautious when choosing whom we trust our greatest treasures to.

Unfortunately for one family, they chose the wrong person for the job, and it ended with their child suffering severe burns.

The nanny in question, Ismelda Ramos Mendoza, 36, was cooking tortillas while on the job, and the six-month-old baby girl she was supposed to keep safe started crying. This crazy woman then took the sweet baby and put her tiny feet onto the burning oil.

When the mom got home and spotted all those blisters on her daughter’s feet, she asked Mendoza for an explanation. Mendoza, however, pretended to be surprised and claimed how nothing happened that day.

The mother, of course, knew Mendoza was the one to blame as the girl was with her all day. Naturally, she wouldn’t let the cruel babysitter off the hook, so she contacted the police and told them how her little baby was hurt.

Doctors said the girl suffered second degree burns. They could assume they were from burning oil.

Since the horrific incident took place, Mendoza was charged with child abuse, and we hope justice will be served as soon as possible and she will pay for what she did.

Landlord Cancels Rent for Hundreds of Tenants so That They Can Afford Food Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

The greatness and the compassion one possesses is best seen during tough times. With the coronavirus pandemic that left whole countries on lockdown, many people lost their jobs and struggle to make ends meet. Many economies are on the verge of cracking and as much as governments are trying to make things right and keep them on the right path, it’s the ordinary citizens who are affected the most.

However, stories of empathy towards those that are left impoverished during these hard days are what give us hope that we will end up winners and overcome the struggles. One Brooklyn landlord is one of those people who is restoring our faith in humanity, by canceling a month’s rent for hundreds of tenants.

He wants people to use that money to provide enough food for themselves.

News outlets have reported how 59-year-old Mario Salerno, who owns around 80 apartments across the Williamsburg and Greenpoint areas, with more than 200 tenants living there, has decided to waive the rent for April.

Just imagine the faces of the tenants when they got out one day and saw the sign their landlord placed on the front doors of the apartment buildings saying they don’t have to pay the rent. Priceless, I guess.

Grandmother makes her grandchild hang over 50-foot balcony so she could rescue her cat

When we think of grandmas, images of lovely and caring ladies comes to our mind. These women are there to spoil their grandchildren rotten and make their days fun. But do all grannies share these same characteristics? Judging from this story, the answer is a big no.

If you ever thought your grandma was “mean” to you for making you eat veggies and doing chores around the house, wait until you see what one grandma did after her daughter left her kid under her care one day.

Both the grandma and the grandpa assured their daughter how her kid was safe with them and promised to keep a close eye on him, but they failed big.

The 7-year-old boy was happy to be with his grandparents, but he was most excited to be playing with their cat. He kissed him, and hugged him, but the cat seemed not to like that kind of attention so he decided to get away from the boy by leaping off the balcony.

In the next moment, the cat found himself trapped on a ledge one floor below his owner’s apartment. Realizing her cat was in danger, the grandmother got very furious with her grandson. The poor boy was very sorry and apologized many, many times, but the grandma would only accept it if he agreed to get down and save the animal. How, you may wonder. She constructed a device using a backpack and some long ropes.

The boy was very scared but was ready to agree to it all as long as it made his grandma happy. So he put the backpack on, tied the rope, and let his grandma lower him down to where the cat was.

The cat already escaped from the boy, and that’s how he find himself in such situation in the first place, so he didn’t want to get closer to the boy. But the grandma started shouting at the grandson, telling him to rescue her cat no matter what it takes.

Luckily, he was able to catch the feline, after which the grandma pulled him up to safety.

The shocking scene of the boy hanging over 50-feet balcony shocked the passersby. Some took their phones out and filmed the whole thing, watching in complete disbelief.

In no time, the video of the boy and the cat was shared on YouTube and people were very angry at the grandmother. They couldn’t believe how she could put her own daughter’s son in such danger.

We are positive the boy’s mother was devastated at how her mother treated her son. He could have easily fall down and die.

If you ever got mad at your mom for being strict to your kids, probably for their own good, now you know there are grandmas from hell out there and it makes you call your mom and thank her for taking care of your little ones the right way.

It was later reported how the grandma realized she did a very careless thing and was deeply sorry for making her grandson going through such ordeal.

You can take a look at the shocking video below.

Teen picked up by cop to stay warm after train delayed, soon realizes he’s driving out of town

With all of those bad news about intolerable cops, we get a different picture about police officers. However, we all know there are some exceptionally good policemen out there. Kelly J. McCormick is one of them.

The story is actually about Kori Malenfant. This woman was suffering from Chiari malformation, which in essence is a opening in the skull. The opening results with brain going through the spinal canal.

This malformation is treated with a surgery and Kori went to New York just for that. With her parents besides her, Kori managed to endure the surgery successfully.

On her was home, from New York to Portland, Maine, Kori and her parents got stuck at the train station. It was just 4 days since her surgery. They missed the train from Boston to Main since the train in New York was a bit late.

It was in the night, winter, and it was freezing. Kori’s parents decided to ask a nearby police officer for storing their bags, so they can find a warm place for themselves .

But, the policeman did something very kind instead.

She posted the story on her Facebook account and she explains:

“Because of the recent inclement weather and train cancellations, our Amtrak train trip back from the Presbyterian Hospital in New York was longer than expected, which caused us to arrive in Boston too late to get on the next train.”

She also adds:

“Unfortunately, this train wasn’t leaving the station for another 2 1/2 hours. The train station was very cold, with no place to leave our luggage, and no option for comfortable seating/support for my neck.”

The parents’ plan was to secure the bags, take a taxi and go to a warmer place.

Kori says:

“The officers quickly assured Mom that they would help us by contacting their captain to see what he could do. Shortly after, the Boston police captain came to us and asked us to follow him.”

Kori and her parents started talking to the Captain Kelly J. McCormick. Upon learfning their problem, he said:

“OK guys, follow me. We’re taking a little ride.”

Surprised and with no clue of what was going on, all three of them thought he was going to drive them to a warmer place. However, the captain started driving further north.

Regarding this, Kori recalls:

“Mom asked where we were going, and he laughed and said he was kidnapping us and that it was perfectly legal. We soon realized he was driving us all the way to Portland, back to our car.”

She also adds:

“He said there was no way he was going to allow me to sit in the cold so soon after surgery and that it was his pleasure to drive us.”

This amazed and shocked the family. The good-hearted man decided to take them to Portland and that meant a lot to them.

Upon long talks, the family learnt that the captain was one of the main commanders in charge during the Boston Marathon bombing.

Boston Police Superintendent-in-Chief William Gross wasn’t surprised by the officer’s kindness. He says:

“That’s not a one-time thing with Captain McCormick. He’s always giving. He’s a very free-spirited and giving individual. He has a great soul… The mayor’s allowed us to put captains in each of our 11 districts that do get it, that do go above and beyond.”

At the end of the day, Kori has only kind words for the captain. She says:

“He is a humble, inspiring, kind man.”

She adds:

“Thank you, Captain Kelley McCormick. May God richly bless and protect you as you have blessed and protected so many others.”

Three college graduates are strapped in an electric chair and their last words are hilarious

When you have best friends who love to drink and party as much as you do, no one really knows how the night out will end. Three women decide to celebrate their college graduation in Mexico but they get so drunk that they wake up in jail. They are told they will be executed in the morning although none of them has any idea of what they did wrong. When asked about their final words, this is what they had to say. I warn you, this is hilarious. The first one, a redhead, is strapped in the electric chair and is asked if she has any last words. She says, “I just graduated from Trinity Bible College and believe in the almighty power of God to intervene on the behalf of the innocent.” They throw the switch and nothing happens. The executioners all immediately fall to the floor on their knees, beg for forgiveness, and release her. The second one, a brunette, is strapped in and gives her last words. “I just graduated from the Harvard School of Law and I believe in the power of justice to intervene on the part of the innocent.” They throw the switch and again, nothing happens. Again they all immediately fall to their knees, beg for forgiveness and release her. The last one, a blonde, is strapped in and says, “Well, I’m from the University of Texas and just graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and I’ll tell ya right now, ya’ll ain’t gonna electrocute nobody if you don’t plug this thing in.

6-Year-Old Nearly “Cut In Half” By Incorrectly Worn Seatbelt

Seatbelts serve the purpose of keeping you safe in case of an accident. They redistribute the force caused by a collision away from vital organs.

However, many times, using them incorrectly may cause even greater damage than not using them at all.

“When children are not properly restrained, meaning they are in a lap-only belt, they are in an ill-fitting lap/shoulder belt, or even if they moved the shoulder portion of the seat belt behind them or under their arm (whether in a booster seat or not) to keep it from rubbing their neck, they are at a greater risk of seat belt syndrome.”

Using the seatbelt incorrectly is so common that there is even a term known as a “seatbelt syndrome.” Unfortunately, this is the reason why children may get severely harmed or even killed.

Such was the case with 6-year-old Samantha Swartwout from Virginia. While she and her father were driving around, he hit a tree and poor Samantha was nearly cut in half.

Samantha had the seatbelt on, but she wasn’t sitting in a booster sit, so when the accident took place the seatbelt was drawn across her abdomen.

When her mother was alerted of what had happened, she could never assume her daughter’s injuries were so severe.

Her doctor, Charles Bagwell spoke of Samantha’s case on NBC12 and described how the inappropriately placed seatbelt made things worse.

“Where you could see the stripe of the seat belt in an enormous bruise across her abdomen, as well as the fact that the edge, the far edge of the belt, had actually cut through her abdominal wall, and she had protruding intestines from that. She was just about cut in two. Much of which, quite frankly, couldn’t be repaired. The injury was too severe.”

In order to keep her organs inside her body, the doctors had to use “binding” material.

Speaking of the accident, Samantha’s mom, Martin, says she regrets she didn’t force the girl use the booster sit although she wasn’t in the car that day.

“A lot of people seem to think that when the children don’t fit so easily in the booster, that it’s okay to take them out of the booster. That’s not the case,” Martin warned.

She believes that many parents don’t realize the dangers of not using booster seats. But what her daughter had to go through should serve as a warning. She hopes no other child will ever suffer such injuries because of something that could be easily avoided.

“Samantha also moved the shoulder belt behind her. So now the lap belt was carrying twice the force, and because she’s not tall enough without a booster, the lap belt went across her stomach instead of her hips. Doctors call the injury this caused ‘the seat belt syndrome.’”

Samantha now suffers from post traumatic stress disorder and still endures physical pain.

No matter how much your children complain about the booster seats or having the seatbelt on, don’t ever let them enter the car without having them on.

Woman Caught Assaulting Daughter Because Dad Visits Her at School

People are left furious after a video of a 36-year-old mother, Angela Armendariz from Texas, assaulting her 9-year-old daughter emerged. The violent woman could be heard cursing and hitting the girl because she let her father visit her at school. Angela and her husband, Jesus Armendariz, are going through a divorce and she doesn’t want him to see the kids so she’s taking it out on the little girl.

Jesus says this wasn’t the first time for Angela to be abusive with the kids. He tried reporting the violence that was going on in the house before but he didn’t have any evidence. Speaking to News West 9 about the incident he says, “The officer recommended me not to look at it because to him it was graphic.” He adds how he believed he was strong enough to proceed, but it was too much for him to handle.

Currently, Child Protective Services are evaluating how much stress the girl was forced to go through. In the meantime, investigation is ongoing and Jesus got a custody of his daughter while Angela was charged with injury to a child.

We are so deeply saddened there are people like Angela out there who beat their kids and treat them with disrespect. We honestly hope she will get the punishment she deserves.
