Dad and son turn a 100-year-old gas station into a modern living space – the interior is stunning!

They say the home is where your heart is, and Robert Guthrie’s was at an old gas station that he turned into an incredibly stunning and cozy place to live.

When he informed his son how he was planning to buy the 100-year-old gas station and re-purpose it for living, the boy thought his dad had lost his mind. But now, with a lot of hard work, dedication, and a touch of creativity, the 2,000-square-foot space resembles a perfect home. It can be described as an incredible mixture of the new and the old. Modern, but yet holding pieces of the past soul. What Robert did was adding a roof deck, hydraulic-lift turned staircase, and a modern kitchen. This man’s innovative ideas made us wonder how we never though of seeing a potential at old and seemingly unusable objects ourselves. But I guess it takes both a creative mind and a risk-taking personality to get involved into such project. Many of the items that were once part of the Sinclair’s Gasoline now serve the purpose of ornaments that give special feeling when you are in the dining room. The knobs of the kitchen’s cupboards are all car emblems that fit just perfectly with the modern elements. The bathroom is turned into a classy one with black tiles and cars’ old headlights as a bathroom sconces. A gigantic typography art is a slight reminder of what this place once was. The bedroom is spacious and cozy and the tailgate that hangs on the wall just above the bed gives it a flare of excitement. Do you like the way this old gas station was turned into a spacious living space? I know I would be happy to live there. As it turns out, a combination of the vintage and the modern is always a great idea.

Wiener Dog Spots Dolphin and Goes Overboard to Catch It

Who doesn’t love dolphins? They are super cute, friendly, and lovable. Apparently, dogs love them too. Well, if we are to judge by this fearless dachshund who went overboard when he spotted one jumping out of the water. This cute event took place at the Banana River, near Port Canaveral, Florida while Gracie was taking a boat trip with the family. It was Gracie’s owner Tina who first shared the video of the unusual but sweet encounter between her dog and the dolphin, but it was later re-posted on the Kyoot Animals channel from “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” That’s when more people saw it and made it viral. Well, all for the right reasons. I believe you haven’t seen anything cuter in a long time. The family explained how Gracie loves herding goats so when she spotted the creature coming out of the water, she felt like she should go after it and chase it, too. “I think she was trying to herd the dolphin like she does our goats,” Tina wrote. “I think she wanted to play.” Or, maybe Gracie was just mesmerized by the beauty and the uniqueness of her new ‘pal’ the dolphin. Anyways, the video will definitely make your day.

Vet Shows True Compassion When He Rocks Puppy Like A Baby To Calm Her After Surgery

Arriving at the shelter can be a traumatizing experience for many animals. That is why it’s crucial for the staff to be welcoming and friendly. It can help the confused souls get back on track easily and it will further help in placing them in nice forever homes. When Meesha, a baby dog, ended up at BARSC Animal Shelter, she had to be spayed. That only added to the initial stress she suffered from being brought at a totally unfamiliar place. Luckily for her, there was someone who was there to provide comfort and show her that someone cared. Dennis Moses is a surgical assistant who was part of the doctor’s team who operated on the dog. But his job didn’t end at the operating room. On the contrary, he always makes sure his patients are shown love once they are out of surgery. “If you’ve ever had surgery, you wake up, and you’re not sure where you’re at,” Moses told The Dodo, “It’s a scary thing even for dogs and cats, especially being in the shelter and being that young.” A volunteer showed the whole country how caring Moses really is when he spotted him rocking the sweet pup like a baby and put it on tape. He was giving her hugs and kisses as Meesha couldn’t stop whimpering. The video quickly gone viral and people agreed how what Moses did was beyond adorable. Only a day after the video spread on the social media, Meesha found her forever home. The shelter wrote, “She was spayed yesterday morning. She is doing just fine for adoption today. The new family knows to be extra careful and keep her calm.”
Baby Meesha was coming off her anesthesia and was a little scared because her body felt so weird. BARCS Surgical Assistant Dennis Moses took her out into the quiet hallway to comfort her. One of our awesome volunteers just happened to be walking by to capture this sweet moment. Thank you to Dennis and all the staff who work long, tireless hours in the background of our shelter—saving lives and loving the animals. (Turn on the sound, it will melt your heart!) If Your Kids Have Been Asking For A Pet, Here Are 6 Reasons You Should Say Yes

If your kids grow up around a dog or any other pet, then you have no idea how lucky both you and your little ones are. Having a pet means having a best friend for life. Except for being friendly, pets teach kids lots of valuable things, such as how to be responsible. Above all, animals are happiness and sharing your home with one means days filled with laughter and fun. These are just a few of the benefits why you should give your child a resounding YES if they ask for an animal buddy.

1. Pets teach responsibility.

Getting a pet means making sure they are well taken care of. That includes feeding them on time and cleaning after them. If the kids get on the tasks of keeping the pets happy and clean, it means they will turn into responsible human beings.

2. Kids with pets have fewer allergies.

Some parents believe that exposing their newborn babies to animals is equal to exposing them to the animal’s dirt and bacteria. But few know that it actually helps in the early development of the little ones’ immune system. It also means that babies that are surrounded by pets early in life are less likely to suffer from allergies later.

3. Animals relieve stress.

Many animals, mainly dogs, are assigned to people in order to help them deal with trauma. Whenever you feel pressured and stressed, service animals are there to provide you with comfort and take the negative feelings away. Children who grow up around animals are experiencing less stress than those who don’t own a pet, so these kids grow up to be happier and healthier individuals. These furry companions do more than you'd think.

4. Kids will get more exercise.

Keeping a pet, especially a dog, requires taking them for regular walks. This means the kids owning one get more exercise than the rest of their peers who don’t own a pet. Keeping themselves active helps children be healthier.  It also reduces the risk of childhood obesity.

5. Kids become better readers.

Many kids struggle with their reading. In order to master this skill, one needs constant practice. However, as many feel embarrassed to read in front of other people, reading to their pets out loud results in having fun and improving literacy all at once.

6. Kids develop a sense of compassion.

By taking care of their pet, kids develop a sense of compassion. When the animal is not feeling well, let’s say, the little ones are there to give them belly rubs, kisses, hugs, and pat them on the head. This way they learn that treating others with kindness results in happy pets. This gives them feeling of satisfaction so they will treats humans the same way, with respect. Some families are prevented from owning a pet because of allergies or other medical conditions. But in case you decide to open the doors of you home and your heart to a sweet creature, you have to know it takes responsibility and you have to do your best to keep them happy and healthy. Texas woman holds door open for stranger: Hears remark seconds later

We sometimes lose sight of the fact that every day we have a choice.

We can choose to connect to those around us, or we can choose to close ourselves off. Some days we may not feel like reaching out to others, but on days when we can, you never know just what may come of it.

We’re busy.

I know. I’m caught in that cycle, too. When I do get a moment to breathe and do something for myself, sometimes I just want the time to clear my mind and, blessedly, saynothing. There’s nothing wrong with that.

But during our more generous moments…

Maybe we could stretch ourselves a bit further — stretch to offer human warmth and conversation to someone who deserves it simply for being another person in our midst. Stretch to brighten someone’s day, knowing that maybe we’ll be turned down, and maybe we won’t. Stretch to keep ourselves open to the world and to other people, even if naysayers would have you believe it’s safer to stay tight and closed off. Stretch simply to tell the world that we won’t be automatons who use our energy and light only for the tasks required to survive but that we will be people who reallylive. That’s what happened when Brooke Ochoa went to lunch by herself. She could have kept her gaze fixed to her phone, barely taking in the information from the environment around her. But she tuned in. She noticed people. She noticed Delores. And what came of that is truly beautiful. Enjoy. amazing “Today I Went to eat at a restaurant for lunch and I saw this elder lady coming from afar so I waited to hold the door for her, she was very thankful and sweet. She then told the waitress, “table for one”, so I waited and hesitated but then I walked over and said, “I’m eating by myself too would you like to have lunch together?” She was ecstatic! Come to find out she spent the last decade living with her mom who recently passed away and her aunt who recently was put into a nursing home, so she has been having a hard time being alone. We had a wonderful talk, and she just kept smiling and saying thank you for listening to me, which made me smile too! Her words healed my heart just as much as i healed her lonely one. By far the best decision I’ve made all year!!! Her name is Delores, and we will be having lunch every Thursday from now on.”

Every Child Who Visits His House Dies and There Will be More

In times when we lose our faith in humanity someone generous and humble like Mohamed Bzeek restores it. Really, no words can describe this man’s selflessness and kindness, and when you’ll learn why, you will realize that not all heroes wear capes, some look like ordinary humans who do so much good for those in need that they deserve every praise.

Mohamed is a foster parent, but what is special about him is that he only fosters terminally ill children no one else is willing to take in.

Mohamed made helping these kids during their final days his life mission after he was diagnosed with colon cancer and had to go to the hospital and have surgery all by himself. When he showed up there, doctors asked about his family. Unfortunately, Mohamed’s wife passed away, and his son is handicapped, so he felt what it feels like to be petrified and have no one by your side.

He said how he doesn’t want any kid to feel the same.

Mohamed’s story is so touching that it makes all of us become better people than we are today and offer a helping hand to the most vulnerable ones. It’s because of people like him that this world goes round and turns into a better place. Mohamed’s deeds are a light in the darkness of many kids.

Inspired by a story in the LA Times, Margaret Cotts started a GoFundMe for Mohamed Bzeek and his foster children. Thankfully, many who gave this man a recognition for what he does supported him, and he can now take even better care of the ill children he fosters.

Rude man honks like crazy when old woman crosses the street – her revenge is brilliant

You should respect your elders. They have experienced a lot more than those of us who are younger, and you’d be surprised at how spry some of them still are – so you better not mess with the wrong person.

In this clip (which has been seen by more than a million viewers) a couple of boys are filming themselves skateboarding. Suddenly they see an elderly lady about to cross a crosswalk. The man in the fancy car waits impatiently for the old woman to cross. He thinks things are moving too slow and gives a loud honk, but then the lady’s revenge makes me laugh so hard that I start crying. The clip is probably staged – in other words not real – but that doesn’t make it any less funny. This is a great example of why you should never mess with the elderly!

Police Officer Is Filmed Beating a Homeless Man – He Answers Back With Kindness

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you witnessed someone experiencing violence or hard time coping with their reality? When you think about it, I bet the first thing that comes to your mind is that you would act brave and try to help whoever the victim or the person in need of financial help is. But the reality is that situations like these often intimidate people. That leads to no reacting by our side, hoping someone else would eventually step up for the person in need.

Social experiments show exactly that. In this one, two guys secretly film a homeless man begging on a street in New York. Then, they send their friend to sit next to the homeless man and pretend to be homeless too.

What happens next will break your heart into a million pieces. The homeless man is treated with utmost disrespect, and even gets slapped by a police officer, but the fact people are cruel to him doesn’t stop him from being kind in return.

This video is a must watch, it will make us rethink how we treat those that are less fortunate than us.

If it inspired you to do good yourself, please share it with your friends.
