Police officer throws surprise party for buIIied boy when no one showed up on his birthday

In life, it often happens that we meet people who change the course of our destiny. The thing is that we never know when these random strangers would come along our way, or how much they would influence our perspectives, but what we know is that after we welcome them in our life we learn how things weren’t as bad as they seemed.

For the sweet nine-year-old boy Thomas Daniel, that person who made a change was the caring police officer Austin Lynema. Some would say how the members of the police forces only care for giving speeding tickets and casually patrolling around the neighborhoods, but the truth is that most of them go beyond their call of duty to help citizens in need. That is exactly what officer Lynema did when he saw Thomas struggling to catch a bus one day.

When he saw the sad look on the boy’s face after he missed his ride, this caring officer approached and asked if there was something he could do to help.

The boy explained how he’s traveling to school by bus because his mother couldn’t afford to drive him to and back from school every day. Officer Lynema called the boy’s mother and asked for a permission to give him a ride with his police car.

“I saw him running down the sidewalk trying to chase his bus, he was in tears. I tried to stop his school bus for him,” Lynema said.

“He informed me he never missed a day of school. I wanted to make sure I could help him as much as I could.”

On the way to school, Thomas said how it was his birthday that day and how his mother was preparing a party for him. But, instead of being happy because of it, the boy was a bit sad. When officer Lynema asked him what was the reason behind his low spirits, Thomas told him how his classmates bully him almost every day and how probably no one would show up at his birthday party.

This was the most heartbreaking thing this officer has ever heard, so he assured Thomas that he would be there to celebrate with him. Later that evening, when officer Lynema arrived at the party, he realzied he was the only guest, and it was all so disappointing. There wasn’t even a cake.

The kind-hearted officer knew he had to do something for this sweet boy, so he and his fellow colleagues from the Grand Rapids Police Department decided to throw another party for Thomas the following day. This one was going to be way more fun and it would include a big cake and a bunch of presents.

So when Thomas got off the bus the next day, the crew was there, waiting for him with a Krispy Kreme donut cake. When the boy saw them standing there and singing, he felt he was the happiest kid on Earth.

Thomas said how this was the best birthday he’s ever had. Besides all the presents, he got himself a friend for life and someone he could always rely on, and that was the most important of all.

“People at school are happy for me because Austin … he never lets kids down, he’s a hero. I’ll never forget this until the day I die.”

This sweet story about compassion is a reminder that many times it takes just a little love and care in order for someone’s life to change for the best. Officer Lynema, thank you for your service and thank you for having such a big heart.

5,000 People Stand in Rain for Hours to See if Stem Cells Match for 5-Year-Old Battling Cancer

Oscar Saxelby-Lee is a five-year old boy, a student at the primary school in Worcester, England. This boy’s childhood turned into real battle for his life since he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

In December, Oscar was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. This rare form of cancer threatened the boy’s life. The disease caused immature white blood cells to be released in his system. This causes lot of health problems. The doctors told his family that the possible solution is doing a stem cell transplant. The boy had only three months to find the donor and save his own life.

Luckily, Oscar was surrounded by some exceptionally good people. His teaching assistant Laura Senter talks about Oscar and his illness. She says that when the school found out about the problem, they were devastated. However, she added that they did not give up and all of them tried to help the boy.

The school organized an event in order to find the donors who can help Oscar. They decided to do whatever it takes just to save Oscar’s life. This event gathered unbelievable 5,000 people.

Sarah Keating, Oscar’s teacher, says that this is the first such case in her career. She has never witnessed similar case in her life. She joined Oscar’s fight.

The organizers made public announcement. They called everyone aged 17 to 55. The call for registration of donors was a real success. The family even raised some 11,300 dollars to cover the expenses.

It took some 200 volunteers to do the job. The first day 1,800 donors registered. However, the next day was a real surprise. Additional 3,000 donors registered in order to help the boy.

Ms. Bladen said that nobody moaned, even though they queued around the block, in the pouring rain. The spirit and generosity of people were incredible.

The huge number of registered donors surprised everyone. The large database of registered donors requires weeks to go through and pick up the most suitable donors who will save the boy’s life.

Lusa Nugent, the head of the recruitment, says that it’s very difficult to find the appropriate match because there are some 17,000 HLA characteristics to go through.

Nevertheless, Oscar’s family can now fight this disease with less stress. Knowing that there are donors and possible matches, they can go through the process more easily. Oscar is admitted to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and he has already taken some 20 blood transfusions.

Oscar is a funny and energetic boy and he deserves a second chance. The family hopes that among the donors there is a match and he or she will help Oscar beat this horrible illness. He is too young to lose the battle!

Enthusiastic Children’s Choir Earns Golden Buzzer On Britain’s Got Talent

If you are a fan of talent shows and you think you’ve seen it all, wait until you meet the most enthusiastic kids from Flekeflee Primary School. What they had to show to the panel of judges and the audience once they took the stage of Britain’s Got Talent was definitely a Golden Buzzer worth, and we are all so very glad judge David Walliams thought so, too.

This performance was unlike any other. Probably the most joyous that has ever unfolded in front of your eyes. The choir, together with their loving and dedicated coach and teacher, chose Queen’s iconic rock song “Don’t Stop Me” that was released back in 1978 as part of the album “Jazz.” They didn’t only sing, but prepared an incredibly sweet choreography that matched the song’s lyrics perfectly, too. Wearing colorful masks, including ones with the judges’ faces, and dancing along the stage, they made everybody’s day.

It’s truly breathtaking how children these young carry so much enthusiasm in them. It looks like none of them has ever heard of the term stage fright, as they didn’t experience any. This much confidence is only seen in professional performers who’ve been on stage their whole life.

Judges were not sure what to expect from this group of children until they saw them moving around. That’s when they knew their performance was going to be epic. So many smiley faces who were singing as one, and their teacher who added to the whole experience. The audience couldn’t help but stand up from their seats and dance. The place was filled with positive vibes and many happy faces, and judge Simon said how he believed the show was all about it; spreading and sharing cheer and laughter. He also praised the kids’ teacher for being there for his students and nurturing their love for singing and performing. Judge David couldn’t agree more, as well as many other people who say this only shows the true importance of the educators from all around the globe. One person wrote how the Golden Buzzer should be dedicated to their hard work and their mission of helping their students become great people.

Judge Alesha couldn’t describe the choir’s performance any better when she said, “That was absolute chaos, and absolute joy.” Once you take a look at it, you’ll know what she means. One thing is for sure, no one really knows how something so cheerful could make everyone cry tears of joy. Judge David pressed that golden button everyone dreams of and took to the stage to congratulate the little winners who were over the moon.

This is something you don’t want to miss. We can’t wait to see what else these talented and happy kids have in their sleeve.

17-Year-Old Took a Whole Month to Hand-Paint Her Own Gorgeous Graduation Ball Dress

Graduation is the period for celebration. High school is finally over and we are preparing ourselves for the next step – adulthood. However, before we started worrying about our careers and future jobs, all of us have been preoccupied with one thing – the prom.

Prom night means having fun, dancing and what’s most important great look. Picking the perfect outfit can be a very tiring process, usually for the girls. While boys simply go and pick up the best suit, shirt or pants, the girls, however, spend more time and energy on that. Many of the girls go from store to store until they buy the perfect dress. But, some girls are in search of something more creative and unique.

The 17-year old Ciara Gan from the Philippines, was just like that. She wasn’t satisfied with the offer of the stores and she and her mother decided to make a totally unique dress. The results are fascinating.

The initial idea was to hire someone to create the dress. However, Ciara did not like the outcome and she decided to step into action. The one-month work finally paid off.

She and her mother went to the local stores and bought all necessary supplies. With 13 yards of fabric, crystals, boning and crinoline, the girl was ready to design her best dress.

Step by step the dress was getting its shape. They sewed the panels and the form of the dress looked very well. However, the dress wasn’t getting anywhere near the end. The last details were the most beautiful decorations of the creation.

Ciara decided to hand-paint the flowers of the dress. This process lasted five days and the results are stunning. Ciara’s real work of art was inspired by the Jodi Lynn Anderson’s ‘Tiger Lily’.

Ciara says:

“I recently reread the book Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson (which touched my heart) and then decided to paint the orange florals. I strayed away from basic roses and dainty florals because although they’re pretty, they don’t reflect my personality. I love the vibrancy of loud colors like orange and green — they speak more about who I am.”

Of course, no one knew about the dress. Until she showed up at the graduation ceremony.

She tweeted about her work, saying:

“i painted over 80 flowers, sewed + stoned my dress with my mama and designed the whole thing myself!”

With more than 82,000 retweets, Ciara’s creation was an instant hit. The positive comments and admirations were evident. People simply marveled at her talent and the results she achieved. She adds:

“I still really can’t believe it…It really warms my heart to see people appreciating my art.”

Real masterpiece, right? Have you seen anything similar?

These 18 Kids Brought a Whole New Meaning to ‘Logic’ On Their Homework Assignments

When you are a student, you feel the pressure of the examination and the stress of having a test. We mostly hated school just because of that – having a lot of assignments and test. We thought those things will never end.

Many times we felt quite unprepared for these kinds of examinations. The assessment of our work made us feel nervous and sometimes angry. However, we have all been creative in avoiding these tests or, in case we can’t avoid them, we have given our best to improvise and get the good mark by pure luck.

Kids come up with very interesting and innovative ‘tricks’ or answers to solve the problems. Not prepared for the test? You haven’t studied for the tomorrow’s test or homework? No problem, just improvise. These kids and their answers tell exactly this. There isn’t any assignment that can’t be done.

Let’s see how these kids tried to  ‘outsmart the teacher’.

  1. Google Translate?

This student lives in China, and he’s learning English. We think he might be using Google Translate to do his homework.

2. Stating the Obvious

That’s definitely one thing that ended.

3. Clarification Needed

This student isn’t exactly “wrong.” Maybe “solve for x” would’ve been better phrasing for this question.

4. Genius Answers

Every answer is wrong, yet so very right.

5. 100 Years Old

There’s truth here. Maybe the question should have asked about a younger age.

6. Mariah Carey

When you’re right, you’re right, but we’re sure the teacher was looking for a different answer.

7. Problems and Solutions

We’re assuming this kid’s parents don’t coddle him at home.

8. Thinking Outside the Box

Then Miranda wouldn’t be able to see the microscope either.

9. “I Don’t Have a Sister”

That’s one way to get out of doing your homework.

10. The Future

Goals are important.

11. The Length of a Football

This does make sense.

12. “A Lot”

We’re thinking the answer was supposed to be more specific.

13. Nerd Alert

That’s one opinion.

14. Shapes

These are nice names.

15. Vegetables

We wish these were all vegetables!

16. Solving Math Problems

This is certainly a thoughtful answer.

17. Feelings

This would be incredibly scary.

18. Alphabetical Order

Wow. This student put much more work into answering this question than was intended.

Dog Gives Owner The Side Eye At The Vet’s Office

Dogs. Those who own one and get to spend their days around them know what true happiness really is. Their antics are like no other, and they possess the ability to make everyone’s day. It’s not that I say cats and other animals don’t make great pets, but let’s get honest, nothing really beats dogs.

They have facilitated people’s life for centuries, as they not only make great companions, but awesome service dogs, therapy dogs, and valuable members of the police forces too. Whenever we feel down and betrayed by those we trusted the most, the dogs are there to remind us that not everything is as bad as it looks, and to assure us over and over again that they would never leave our side. Having a dog means having someone you can always rely on and a best friend for life. The time we spend with them is precious, and we must never take it for granted, because no matter how sad it sounds, they are likely to leave this world before we do.

But, no matter how brave our canines are, there is something that makes them feel anxious. Any guesses what it might be? The veterinarian, of course. Just like small children, dogs are likely to be afraid of doctor’s visits. This is the reason they may behave in a strange, very likely fun manner, whenever the check-up time is around the corner. The sweet dog from the video below is no exception. But the best thing about him is that we don’t really know how he feels. Scared, or a bit confused and puzzled maybe. What we know for sure is that he’s in anticipation of leaving the place and based on his hilarious stare, he blames his owner for placing him there.

It’s not surprising that the video had been seen millions of times, because no matter if you are a dog lover or not, this is so hilarious that you can’t stop watching it over and over again. Some people even say how the sweet dog resembles actor Samuel L. Jackson.

This dog definitely knows how to make his human feel guilty, and it doesn’t involve any movement or barking. His eyes speak for him, that’s for sure.

We are sure that this feeling of being a bit mad at his owner won’t last long and these two would continue having fun once the vet is out of the picture.

Take a look at the fun side eye this owner got and remember, you can’t hide from your dog!

19-Month-Old Gives First Ever Sermon And It Is Adorable

If you found yourself in a situation where you had to take a stage and speak in front of a crowd, then you know how frightening that experience can be. Many times, no matter how confident we feel in our competences and our knowledge, the stage fright is simply there and gives us that trembling sensation where we start sweating and forgetting what we needed to say. However, this isn’t the case with everyone, as some people are born to give public speeches or perform in front of huge audiences. To be honest, I do believe overcoming the pressure and the stress of public speaking could be learned overtime, but I also believe that you should simply have it in yourself. Just like the sweet 19-month-old Levi Marlow from North Carolina.

I guess this adorable young man knows how things are done because he’s got a role model to look up to; his father who’s a preacher and spreads God’s word to the people of the community.

Watching his dad deliver sermons on Sundays is what makes this boy want to do it too, and he’s not afraid to give it a try, even while a lot of people are looking at him and carefully trying to figure out what he has to say. His baby talking makes the whole thing even more adorable. In the video below, not only he took the “stage” and delivered words of wisdom to his audience, but he tried copying his father’s gestures too.

As he’s walking back and forth, he’s using his hands in order to make the message he’s trying to deliver more clear. Isn’t he a little preacher in the making? Judging from the passion he has in him, we would definitely say yes.

Levi’s first ever sermon was so cute that it didn’t only steal the hearts of those at the church, but millions of other people from across the country who got to see the video of him preaching. Needless to say, everyone’s praising his passion.

This is just another example that kids learn best by observing and are trying to imitate the behavior of their parents and other close relative members. This is why we should always mind the way we act in front of these little smarty pants.

Levi’s first sermon is going to make your day, as he’s one of the most adorable toddlers we’ve ever seen. With such a natural talent for public speaking, we may see him taking part in a talent show where he would show his other skills too. This is, of course, in case he doesn’t become a preacher just like his dad.
