No one showed up at 9 year-old’s birthday party, then hundreds of cards flood in from around the world

Birthdays have to be the best part of every child’s life. These special dates mean lots of fun with the friends, birthday cakes, and lots of presents.

Gerald is a young boy who was eager to celebrate his 9th birthday with his classmates. His mom helped him with the invitations and they were soon handed in to every single student from his class, 30 in total.

This sweet boy didn’t have it easy in life as he had to undergo various surgeries to expand his skull when he was younger. Sadly, that had an effect on him and he’s now developmentally challenged, which doesn’t make him less excited to have a birthday party to remember.

However, his classmates don’t understand the challenges he’s dealing with and they are not as accepting as Gerald’s mom hopes them to be. They tend to ignore him and that includes not showing up at his party.

As the family was waiting for the friends to arrive and wish him all the best, none of them came. When Gerald’s mom called some of the parents, they had a bunch of excuses and one mom even said how she wouldn’t let her son be friends with Gerald because he’s too different. Needless to say, this broke the family’s hearts.

The poor boy was hoping to see his friends until the end, but that didn’t happen. Many of his family members came instead, trying to lessen the feeling of disappointment, but that didn’t really help a lot.

Amelia, Gerald’s grandma, was so furious that she wouldn’t just let this incident pass without notice. She thought she should share her grandson’s story on Facebook and raise awareness of how poorly children with certain disabilities are treated by the society.

She asked people to send her grandson best wishes because she didn’t want him to feel less valuable.

When asked how he felt when he realized his friends won’t show up, Gerald only gasped “sad.”

Thankfully, kind people from all over the world answered Amelia’s plea and soon Gerald was showered with so many gift that he couldn’t even count them.

But the best gift of all turned to be the one from the City Counsel. They learned how sweet Gerald loved dogs so they invited him to spend a whole day playing with their K-9.

Gerald was over the moon, he finally had a smile on his sweet face and all these people who stepped in wiped the sadness off his heart.

The parents of a child who has experienced exactly what Gerald had is now throwing a joint party for the two boys. We hope this time a lot of kids will show up.

Mom overhears son making fun of classmates who shop at Goodwill – so she forces him to go there

Every parent wants their kids to turn into good people who will respect others and will become valuable members of their community. Many times, however, no matter how much they try to educate the youngsters to be polite and distinguish right from wrong, parents fail sometimes.

Cierra Forney, mom of 13-year-old Anthony, believed her son would never make fun of his peers, but as it turned out she was wrong.

One day she overheard him how he was laughing at one of his friends only because he was shopping at Goodwill. As it turned out, he though that buying cheaper clothes was humiliating.

Cierra was shocked because she knew she taught him better than that and decided to teach him a lesson he would never forget.

Since he believed that going to Goodwill was a bad idea, Cierra made him do exactly that. So she gave him $20 and told him to buy his clothes for the week from that store.

The best part of the story is that the money was his. He earned them hard and he was now about to spend them at the place he detested.

Cierra then took a photo of Anthony and shared it on Facebook along with the story behind it. People loved the way she handled her son’s bullying and said how she deserved the parent of the year reward.

The photo went viral in the blink of an eye. More than 778k people liked it and 169k took the time to share their thoughts.

This is Cierra’s original post that made many parents praise her for her parenting skills.

“So lately, my 13-year-old son had been acting a little… entitled. Acting like he’s too good to shop at Wal-Mart or making snarky comments about kids at school who shop at the goodwill and quite a few other things. I don’t tolerate that. Today, he took his own 20.00 to the goodwill to buy clothes to wear the entire week to school. Whatever he found is what he would have to wear. He isn’t happy and shed a few tears but I firmly believe in 15 years he will look back and laugh at the day his Mom made him shop at goodwill. I want to teach my kids that money isn’t everything and if you have to degrade other people because of where they shop, then you too will shop there. Side note, I love the goodwill!!”

“Don’t be spoiled, I might just tell them to be thankful for what you have,” Anthony told Fox 5 News, about the lesson he’ll share with his friends.

If we are about to fight against bullying as a society, we have to stand together and keep a close eye on what our children do and how they treat others.

Cigarette butts are the most littered item on our planet – volunteers pick up 270k in just 3 hours

Will there come a time when we finally understand that we have no spare planet and that we are suffocating in our own trash every single day. The global warming is a real issue and things are about to get much worse if we don’t take care of the trash and the waste we are leaving behind that kills many living creatures and contaminates the soil.

We stumble upon photos of animals and fish that die because plastic bottles, straws, and lids end up inside their bodies, and that’s a reality too harsh to bear.

However, we tend to forget one item that litters the Earth more than the rest of the plastic items; the cigarettes butts.

The volunteers at the Ocean Conservancy, that make sure beaches around the country and the world get cleaned, say how during the 32 years of work, they have picked up more than 60 million cigarette butts which is more than the rest of the plastic items combined.

One of the reasons why people dispose cigarette butts on the beaches, the streets, and other public places is because they believe their filters are made out of paper and cotton, which is far from the truth.

These filters are in fact plastic, or cellulose acetate, which takes more than a decade to decompose.

The reality is that cigarette filters don’t really serve the purpose smokers are convinced they do, which is filtering tar and nicotine.

“It’s pretty clear there is no health benefit from filters. They are just a marketing tool. And they make it easier for people to smoke,” Thomas Novotny, a professor of public health at San Diego State University, told NBC News. “It’s also a major contaminant, with all that plastic waste. It seems like a no-brainer to me that we can’t continue to allow this.”

Sadly, not much can be done regarding this type of pollution as the number of smokers is enormous and the production of cigarettes can’t really be controlled.

In the past, there were some ideas that could help the reduction of cigarette butts dumped irresponsibly, including that of a New York legislator who presented the legislation that would allow smokers to return butts to redemption centers for a rebate, but they weren’t accepted.

Thankfully, there are a number of non-profit organizations such as the Cigarette Butt Pollution Project that have their contribution in reducing the pollution by offering assistance to the local governments.

One fact that may change smokers’ irresponsibility regarding flicking butts is that the fiber and the chemicals they contain have been found in 70% of seabirds and 30% of sea turtles.

We humans are greedy and behave like this planet belongs to us only and often forget that our trash is destroying the life of millions of other living creatures, many of which are on the list of endangered species only because we pollute and ruin their habitats.

As around 137,000 cigarette butts are flicked on the ground every second by smoker from all around the world, they are very likely to end up into our gardens or sewers that lead to the local water supply.

The planet is suffocating in cigarette butts and we seem not to care about it a great deal.

If you still don’t understand the severity of the situation just take a look at this fact. Last year, 203 volunteers collected 120,000 cigarette butts in just three hours in Brussels.

If we want to preserve our only home, our planet Earth, the first thing we should do is get rid of the cigarette filters altogether as they serve no purpose at all, they just pollute the planet.

Take a look at the video below and next time you have a cigarette think twice before you flick.

13-year-old boy in desperate need of a kidney after dad kills mom, who was planning to give one of hers

Audra Eaker was ready to do for her son anything it took just to see him healthy and that included her readiness to give him one of her kidneys. The 13-year-old boy, Kincaid Eaker, was born with a chronic kidney disorder known as poly-cystic kidney disease which disables the kidneys to perform their function of filtering waste products from the blood they way they should.

Kincaid’s only way of continuing with his life is a transplant, which was supposed to take place back in 2016, but sadly that didn’t happen because his mother, who was a match, was shot dead by her husband Darrel Eaker on Christmas.

This shook the boy’s world. Not only he was left struggling to survive, but his biggest support in life was no longer by his side.

One person who is always by Kincaid’s side and helps him fights his battle, despite his grandparents who took him in, is his adoptive sister Olivia. According Brandy Love, Audra;s best friend, she adopted Olivia from China after she lost two of her kids, one at four weeks old and the other at 4 days old due to the same disease Kincaid has.

Now, Love who has started a GoFundMe page makes sure she does all in her power to help late friend’s boy get a kidney.

So far, sweet Kincaid has managed to survive thanks to the constant medical support he gets from the doctors who are working on his case. But the time is slowly running and something needs to be done asap.

Everyone hopes that a match will be found so that Kincaid lives. He’s still so young and has so much to give to this world. Don’t let us fail him and spread the word.

“I guess my plea to you is to consider getting tested for organ donation for Kincaid. The waiting list is very long for a deceased donor. The success rate for a live donor is so much better and faster,” Love explains on the GoFundMe page. “I feel that with the passing of my best friend this is what I can do to honor her life,” Love said.

As for the cruel man who took from Kincaid his mother and his chance of starting his life over, he was sentenced to life without parole. Someone inconsiderate like him can hardly be called a father.

Big brother cuts his sister’s hair – but stylist works magic and saves the day

Having two toddlers under one roof means constantly trying to keep your house from looking like a bomb went off. Running after them and making sure they don’t get hurt or get into a fight between each other can be tiring, and most moms would definitely agree, but we also have to admit that toddlers are fun to be around.

A mom of two, Breana Naylor of Queens Creek, Arizona, knows that the silence in the house speaks trouble. So, when she noticed it was quiet for some time, she just knew her 2-year-old daughter Kimberly and her 3-year-old brother Colt were up to something. And guess what? She was totally right!

Sharing her story with Mom.com, Naylor wrote:

“A few more peaceful minutes pass and I’m like, ‘Fine, I’ll be a responsible parent and check on my kids.’”

When she went to check up on them she noticed the two were hiding in the closet. She though they were just having fun time and decided to leave them alone when she suddenly noticed a lock of hair on the floor.

It didn’t take long before she realized that someone was getting the well-known ‘toddler haircut.’

Once she opened the door, she could see Cold holding the scissors and cutting his little sister’s hair while she was sitting still and waiting for her new hairstyle.

Naylor was glad the kids didn’t hurt themselves with those scissors and was quick to grab them from Colt’s hands. But what Kimberly was left with couldn’t be put into words.

“When I saw the damage, I just laughed,” Naylor told Mom.com.

The girl’s hair was a total disaster and it needed to be fixed.

Naylor then texted her hairstylists Jen Bullock whom she had an appointment with already, saying:

“Jen, forget about my hair, Kimber needs your help!”

It turned out that a new hairstyle was all sweet Kimberly needed as Jen worked her magic on her and not only fixed her hair but made her look stunning.

Kimberly now looks very stylish and her mom says how her new hair matches her personality.

“I’m not sure if Kimber realizes how rad she really looks. It’s as though her hair matches her spunky personality now, or maybe she’s more spunky because of her rad hair.”

Jen though she should share her little client’s photos with her friends not knowing that thousands of other people would love her work too.

The perfect example of what not to say to a police officer ever

I don’t know about you, but I believe that most police officers aren’t given the respect they deserve. They are the first to arrive when we are in trouble and make sure the members of their community are safe and sound at all times. People sometimes get mad when an officer makes them pull over and asks for their licence and registration, but it’s their job to keep the traffic safe for everyone involved in it, and we have to understand that. One thing we should never do when a cop stops us is make fun of them or use inappropriate language because that would definitely lead to getting ourselves in trouble. But, it looks like no one warned this guy from the story to never mess with the police officers. This is what he had to say: Yesterday I had a flat tire on the interstate. So I eased my car over to the shoulder of the road, carefully got out of the car and opened the trunk. I took out 2 cardboard men, unfolded them and stood them at the rear of my car facing oncoming traffic. They looked so lifelike you wouldn’t believe! They are in trench coats exposing their nude bodies and private parts to the approaching drivers. But to my surprise, cars started slowing down looking at my lifelike men. And of course, traffic started backing up. Everybody was tooting their horns and waving like crazy. It wasn’t long before a state trooper pulled up behind me. He got out of his car and started walking towards me. I could tell he was not a happy camper! “What’s going on here?’ ‘My car has a flat tire,’ I said calmly. ‘Well, what the heck are those obscene cardboard men doing here by the road?’ I couldn’t believe that he didn’t know. So I told him, ‘Hell000000, those are my emergency flashers!’

Little girl gives dad a no-nonsense lecture on why it’s not OK to leave the toilet seat up

When it comes to using the toilet there are some rules that everyone should respect. Putting the toilet seat down is definitely one of them. Well, it looks like that this ‘issue’ turned into an endless war between the male and the female world. So whereas women get mad with men for not putting the seat down, men don’t find that a big deal and simply refuse to listen.

Bradlee Rae Hayes is a three-year-old girl from Bedford, Texas, who hates stumbling upon a toilet seat up when entering the bathroom. But, her personality won’t let her pretend as it has never happened. In fact, she’s ready to confront her father and teach him some lessons on good manners.

The video of Bradlee stole the hearts of the whole country some three years ago, but it looks like we can never get enough of her, especially because the issue with the toilet seat is always ongoing.

“How many times do I have to tell you when you put the seat up and I tell you to put it down for me? Why do you keep doing that?” the little girl says.

Her dad thinks that leaving the seat up isn’t really a big of a deal and asks Bradlee why wouldn’t she just put it down if that bothers her so much to what she responds that he is the one who should do that, not her.

“I don’t want to [put it down], I just want you to do it.”

Seeing her coming up with some great arguments, her daddy Jeremiah won’t stop saying no just to make her speak more. And boy, we are glad he does that.

“Daddy, listen to me, when you’re done with the potty, you gotta put it down when big girl come in and need go… So you’re got to put it down for girls.”

Although he’s doing it wrong when it comes to the toilet seat, Jeremiah is a great parent who taught her young daughter to speak up when she comes across things in life which she believes are not fair and bother her.

Jeremiah told Caters News Agency how Bradlee tells him off every once in a while when she doesn’t agree with his parenting.

“This is her down to a T, as she is always letting me know when I am slacking,” he said. “If I am not doing my job as a dad properly she isn’t afraid to let me know. Especially when it comes to putting the toilet seat down.”

He even joked how he will never let women win the war over the toilet seat.

“Despite her recriminations, I will stand firm for all men in the great debate of whether or not to put the seat down.”

This girl is just awesome. She will definitely make your day.

Boy Throws A Tantrum On A Plane But Gets Put In His Place

Having kids is a real blessing, but everyone is pretty much aware that with them around things can be tough at times. I don’t think there is a single parent out there who hasn’t wished for the ground to swallow them up when their little ones decide to throw a tantrum at a public place. I guess you are smiling as you are reading this if you are a proud mom or a dad of a little kid, aren’t you?

One mom found herself in such situation where she wasn’t able to calm her noddy and misbehaving child, but luckily, there was someone on the plane who could.

As a crowded airliner is about to take off, the peace is shattered by a 5-year-old boy who picks that moment to throw a wild temper tantrum. No matter what his frustrated, embarrassed mother does to try to calm him down, the boy continues to scream furiously and kick the seats around him. Suddenly, from the rear of the plane, an elderly man in the uniform of an Air Force General is seen slowly walking forward up the aisle. Stopping the flustered mother with an upraised hand, the white-haired, courtly, soft-spoken General leans down and, motioning toward his chest, whispers something into the boy’s ear. Instantly, the boy calms down, gently takes his mother’s hand, and quietly fastens his seat belt. All the other passengers burst into spontaneous applause. As the General slowly makes his way back to his seat, one of the cabin attendants touches his sleeve. “Excuse me, General,” she asks quietly, “but could I ask you what magic words you used on that little boy?” The old man smiles serenely and gently confides, “I showed him my pilot’s wings, service stars, and battle ribbons, and explained that they entitle me to throw one passenger out the plane door on any flight I choose.”
