Goodwill employee finds $42,000 wrapped in a sweater, returns the money to the owner

What would you do if you found a huge amount of money? Would you keep it for yourself, or try to locate the person it belongs to and return it? Different people would do different things if found in a situation like this, but for an employee at Goodwill in Norman, Oklahoma, not returning the money was never an option. She didn’t even hesitate a bit when she decided to report that she found $42,000 wrapped in two sweaters donated to the store.

Speaking to Fox 13, Andrea Lessing explained that she noticed something rectangular while stocking the clothes. At first, she believed it was a book, but moments later, she noticed it was money, and it was a lot of it.

“I never expected anything like this to happen to me of all people,” she said. “To me, it was just another normal day at work. I was in the back sorting. I never expected to come across $42,000.”

As she believes in karma, Andrea told the place’s manager about her discovery and they managed to track the owner of the money thanks to the information he left when donating those sweaters.

“I made the right decision, and I did the right thing,” Andrea said.

When the money was returned to the rightful owner, he was touched by the act. And as a reward for Andrea’s integrity, he gave her $1,000.

“I just want to say thank you because he was a blessing,” Andrea said of the cash reward. “I thought I blessed him, but he turned right around and blessed me. He restored my faith that there are really good people out there even though this pandemic. We don’t know their situation so it’s better to just be kind.”

The CEO of Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma commented Andrea’s act and said: “The actions of Andrea and our Goodwill organization are real-life examples of one of our core values: integrity. Andrea showed integrity when she turned in the money and Goodwill showed its integrity as an organization by tracing the donors so we could return the money. Andrea could have kept the money and Goodwill could have kept the money, but integrity is doing the right thing and it’s a core value we strive to live out every day.”

Baby is left fighting for his life after mom beats him and goes out on date

Most parents would do anything for the safety and the happiness of their little ones. Sadly, there are also those who don’t show much interest in raising their children the right way. Some even beat and abuse them.

Such was the case with a mother from Rivine, Ukraine who beat her baby so severely that he’s now left fighting for his life. At the moment the one-month-old Mykyta was found by the neighbors, laying in his own urine with bruises and blood all over his tiny and fragile body, his lunatic mother was out on a date.

This horrific incident shook the whole world and left many people praying for the baby’s life.

According to the Daily Mirror, the neglectful and crazy mother was charged with child neglect and child abuse. Honestly, we hope she rots in hell.

Local outlets reported that one of the neighbors who went to check on the baby fainted from the horrific scene.

Speaking to the media, neighbor Tetiana Prymak said, “When we entered the room we saw Mykyta in his crib.”

“His right eye was black. His nose was blocked with baked blood and he was barely breathing.”

“We started changing his clothes and saw black bruises all over his body. One woman who was in the room fainted after seeing all this.”

Mykyta was rushed to hospital and is currently treated at the intensive care unit. Doctors are doing all in their power to save his life but things don’t seem bright for the sweet soul. They assume he has experienced skull fractures, but his condition is very severe and his head can’t be examined at the moment.

Mykhailo Kulik, head of the intensive care unit at Rivine Regional Children’s Hospital said, “The boy is in a serious life-threatening condition. We suspect that his skull is fractured but we cannot examine it now.”

“I have never seen a baby in such a terribly neglected state. I think his mother has never changed his clothes nor used diapers. His skin is in awful condition.”

Spokesperson with the police, Anton Kruk, said that the mother was arrested and taken for interrogation. When asked of what she did she said how she couldn’t stand the child’s crying, so she beat him and went on a date leaving him there to die.

The police contacted the boy’s father, but he said he didn’t care for the baby and wasn’t interested to learn of the severity of his condition.

The current vice-president of the United States, and the first-ever woman to hold this position, Kamala Harris, truly is a special lady. Harris, who served as a United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021, and an attorney general before that, is at the same time the highest-ranking female official in U.S. history.

However, despite her huge achievements in her career, Harris is mostly proud of her role of a stepmother, or momala, as her husband’s children call her.

During her speech on the day she was sworn in as the new Vice President, Harris thanked her husband, lawyer Doug Emhoff, and his two kids, Cole and Ella Emhoff.

Ella, who is 21, caught the attention of the wide public on the inauguration day not only with her looks, but her fashion style, too. This young lady isn’t planning on sharing the White House with her dad and momala because it looks like she’s not at all into politics. Currently, Ella lives in Brooklyn, New York and is interested in everything involving fashion and modeling. In fact, she has been offered a modeling contract recently and is pursuing a career as a model.

The relationship between Harris and Doug’s children is strong. They are very close and the same is true for Harris and the siblings’ biological mother and Doug’s ex-wife, Kerstin Mackin.

In fact, Harris and Mackin are “dear friends,” and both Ella and Cole are extremely happy because of that.

Speaking of Mackin, Harris once wrote: “She and I became a duo of cheerleaders in the bleachers at Ella’s swim meets and basketball games, often to Ella’s embarrassment. We sometimes joke that our modern family is almost a little too functional.”

Ella also commented the relationship between her mom and her momala. “The level of parenting between the three of them is very different now that we’re both in our 20s and are kind of able to make decisions,” she told The New York Times.

“So with hair and tattoos and things like that, I think they’re all in the realm of like, ‘I don’t understand it, but I want you to be who you want to be.’ They have good communication between the three of them. They are really a unit, like a three-person parenting squad. It’s really cool.”

Ella is completely focused on fashion, modeling, her DIY knitting, and sticker tattoos.

“I’ve also started tattooing myself a lot,” Ella said in an interview with Garage. “I did the classic: I did my dog’s name, and I did a little flower. [Then] I recently did my first big boy: a salmon fish with a flower hanging out of its mouth.”

“It’s super fun. I don’t think it’s something I would ever want to pursue professionally, but it’s fun to just do it to yourself or do it to a friend. And if you can do it, definitely go for it.”

The dress Ella wore during the inauguration was designed by Batsheva Hay. The designer spoke of her collaboration with Ella and said: “Kamala’s stepdaughter is so cool, you have to check out her work. I never thought she’d know who I was, but my friend was like, ‘You should definitely shoot her,’” Hay told Vogue.

“Then, all of a sudden, this came up, and we followed each other, and I went down the rabbit hole of seeing all of Ella’s knitwear. I was literally trying to buy stuff, and it was all sold out! I became obsessed, and was like, what do I have for her? How can we make this happen?”

Ella is studying fine arts at Parsons School of Design in New York, where she specializes in textiles. She has signed a contract with IMG, whose president Ivan Bart told The New York Times: “Ella communicates this moment in time. There’s a cheekiness and a joy she exudes.”

Police officer dancing and twerking to “Git Up Challenge” is the best thing you’ll see today

This is yet another Git Up Challenge that will put a huge smile on your face. And, as much as we love watching professional dancers do what they do best, seeing police officers, who are considered serious, answering to a challenge that involves some crazy moves is what we love and enjoy even more.

Officer Charlie Kingery is not your usual man in a uniform. Although he takes his job seriously and is always ready to help the members of his community, he is showing to us that he also knows how to have fun every now and then. The video of him dancing to the Git Up Challenge has to be the best thing you’ll see all day.

It isn’t really surprising that the video of the dancing went viral in a blink of an eye. After he became famous on the social media, officer Kingery wrote:

“I grew up just enjoying dancing with friends and everything – and then my kids, one of the things we like to do is dance all the time in the kitchen.”

The comments are positive and praise the officer’s skills. One person wrote: “All units, we have a 10-64 Officer twerking. Approach with caution…” Others added: “Oh dam I couldn’t stop watching he killed it. He got his twerk down and everything,” and “Damn, he has more rhythm than some tictokers.”

Well, we can’t agree more.

Oprah Winfrey shares with fans that she is fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Oprah Winfrey’s name is all over the newspapers after the tell-all exclusive interview with Harry and Meghan. Well, it’s not that we didn’t read of her a lot over the years, as she is a celebrity that had a huge impact on many people’s lives as well as the world of media and talk shows.

Oprah’s show was among the rest known for the gifts she shared with her audiences. She is also giving lots of money to different charities and causes she supports, so she is well-known for her generosity.

As the humanity got struck by the pandemic which is sadly still going on and affects millions of people in one way or another, Oprah has recently donated $12 million to several organizations dedicated to helping communities in need, including Chicago, Baltimore, Nashville, Milwaukee and Kosciusko, and Mississippi. What these places have in common is that Oprah lived in each of them at certain point of her life.

“This thing is not going away. Even when the virus is gone, the devastation left by people not being able to work for months who were holding on paycheck to paycheck, who have used up their savings — people are going to be in need,” Oprah told the Associated Press.

Oprah is spending her time in the comfort of her $100 million home in Montecito, California, known as The Promised Land, during the pandemic.

She keeps herself busy gardening and planting roses. She has recently shared a heartwarming story regarding her incredibly looking pathway called Hallelujah Lane. As she recalled, her grandma used to have a hydrangea bush in front of her porch, so as a tribute to her, the host planed thousands of white hydrangeas along Hallelujah Lane.

“I can get excited over little things,” Oprah wrote on her website Oprah Daily. “Just the bounty of it, the fact that this just came out of the ground.”

When it comes to her health, Oprah shared with Ellen DeGeneres that she battled a “very serious” health scare which left her in the emergency room back in 2019. It turned out she had pneumonia and was advised to see a specialist.

“[The doctor] called me every day to make sure I was using the inhaler and taking the right antibiotics, and when I walked in and I was better, he thanked me three times for getting better, and said, ‘Can I have a hug?’” she recalled.

Just recently, she shared with her fans that she was feeling great after she received two COVID-19 vaccine shots.

“I wanted to cry but didn’t, just from the overwhelming sense of relief. I’d had pneumonia the previous year, and my lungs were still sensitive. I was very much afraid of the toll COVID-19 would take on me; it’s why I was so super strict about the goings and comings of everyone in my space,” she explained.

After she got the second shoot, Oprah wrote that she didn’t feel well, but later, she shared that she felt like “a superwoman.”

Speaking of the future, she revealed: “When enough friends are vaccinated, I may have an outdoor taco party. I’m not ready to whoop whoop just yet…but eventually, I will ease into group gatherings. For now, I’m just grateful beyond description to have the vaccine.”

Harry and Meghan admit they didn’t legally marry three days prior to the public wedding, and now the Archbishop of Canterbury had his say

The royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was watched by millions of people from all over the world, so hearing them reveal to Oprah that they had actually married three days prior to the ceremony the entire world had witnessed came as a shock to many. The news was shared during the explosive tell-all interview, while Oprah and The Sussexes were talking in the couple’s chicken coop in their $15 million Montecito, California home.

“Three days before our wedding, we got married,” Meghan revealed. “No one knows that, but we called the archbishop and we just said, ‘This thing, this spectacle is for the world, but we want our union between us. So the vows that we have framed in our room are just the two of us in our backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury.”

However, a huge number of people familiar to the protocols of marriage in Britain claimed it wasn’t possible for the couple to marry, as they insisted they had, as it requires two witnesses to legally marry. Also, according to some media, the Church of England only allows legal wedding ceremonies to take place at registered religious buildings.

Although the church of England didn’t comment on Meghan and Harry’s claims, Reverend Canon Giles Fraser, the rector of St. Mary Newington church in London, spoke to Business Insider and said that “it was probably a blessing. But they got married legally at Windsor.”

The former official who issued the licence for the Sussexes’ wedding, Stephen Borton, said Meghan was “obviously confused and clearly misinformed.”

Harry Benson, an official at the Marriage Foundation, also commented the couple’s claims about getting married days prior to the public wedding and told Business Insider: “While the archbishop might have been able to grant himself a special license in some circumstances, he may not have been able to overcome the legal need for weddings to be licensed to a building and to have two witnesses present, without which a wedding would not be ‘public.'” 

After the stir they caused, Meghan and Harry admitted that a legal ceremony didn’t really take place through their spokesperson who said that “the couple exchanged personal vows a few days before their official/legal wedding on May 19.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury refused to give any comments at the time, but now, he decided to speak to the Italian newspaper La Rebublica saying that “the legal wedding was on the Saturday.”

In addition to that, the Archbishop said: “I signed the wedding certificate, which is a legal document, and I would have committed a serious criminal offense if I signed it knowing it was false.” He did, however, admit he “had a number of private and pastoral meetings with the duke and duchess before the wedding,” but refused to say what those meetings were about.

Soldier who was forced to leave stray dog he rescued in Iraq reunites with him on the other side of Earth

Ken Wyrsch who is part of the U.S military was based in Iraq when he met a stray dog whom they named Ollie. The pup had troubles fending for himself so the soldiers were kind enough to take him in the base and give him food and shelter.

Everyone loved their fur companion, but it was Ken who grew fond of Ollie the most. The two became inseparable as Ollie brought so much happiness in the soldier’s life.

Speaking of the time in Iraq and of Ollie, Ken told CBS SF, “He was there when we left our missions, he was there when we got back.”

After some time, however, the whole army base was shut down and the soldiers were about to get back home. Unfortunately, it meant they had to leave Ollie behind. The dog got used to be around people and getting back on the streets would mean returning to the harsh street life again.

Ken was worried sick for his little friend and was determined to do everything in his power to take Ollie home with him. It sounded like a great idea, but it was hard to put it into action.

Thankfully, the SPCA International stepped in and with the help of generous donations, Ollie was about to head to his new forever home on the other side of Earth.

After a month of being apart, the two friends were about to reunite in California where soldier Ken lives.

Seeing each other again was the best thing ever. Now Ollie got the chance to start his life over thanks to his friend who wouldn’t leave him behind.

Thomas Markle spotted handing a handwritten letter to Oprah following Meghan and Harry’s prime-time interview

After it was revealed that he staged photos of himself getting ready for his daughter’s wedding in a bid to improve his image and lied he didn’t do it, Thomas Markle’s relationship with the Duchess of Sussex broke off and they don’t get along ever since.

Reportedly, the photos sold for over £100,000 ($137,000) and Meghan wasn’t happy.

Thomas wasn’t by his daughter’s side on her special day and he even tried to undermine her public image on several occasions.

After he spoke to several outlets, including the Daily Mail, and said he was silenced and cut off from his daughter’s life, thus referred to the Royals as “a cult,” Meghan sent Thomas a five-page letter and begged him not to speak to the media. Shortly after, parts of that letter somehow emerged and found their place on the covers of many magazines. Meghan was heartbroken and decided to sue the Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), publisher of the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline.

Her lawyers claimed that the publication of the “intrinsically private, personal and sensitive” letter was “unlawful” and “a triple-barrelled invasion of her privacy rights,” according to The Mirror.

To the surprise of many, in February, Meghan won the lawsuit against the publishing company.

As reported by NBC News, Meghan commented the outcome by releasing a statement in which she wrote: “For these outlets, it’s a game. For me and so many others, it’s real life, real relationships, and very real sadness. The damage they have done and continue to do runs deep.”

During the exclusive interview with Oprah, in which a lot had been revealed, Meghan spoke of her estranged father and commented his words that he felt betrayed by her. “If we were going to use the word betrayal, it’s because when I asked him, when the comms team told us this the story was coming out, we called my dad and I asked him and he said, ‘No, absolutely not,'” the former actress said.

“When I said we won’t be able to protect our own kids one day and I said: ‘So I just need you to tell me and if you tell me the truth, we can help.'”

“He wasn’t able to do that,” she added. “And that for me has really resonated, especially now as a mother. I look at Archie, I think about this child, and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child.”

However, it looked like Thomas wasn’t happy with what was said about him so he decided to find a way to have his voice heard.

After he appeared on Good Morning Britain, Thomas Markle said he would be publicly speaking every 30 days until Meghan and Harry get in touch with him.

According to The Sun, Mr. Markle was spotted in front of Oprah’s $100 million home handing a letter to the security guard. Apparently, the letter asked from Oprah for an interview with him.

“Thomas delivered a letter to Oprah asking her to contact him so he could tell his side of the story,” a source told The Sun. “This was not a note to Meghan and Harry, it was meant for Oprah. “Thomas watched the interview she did with them and feels he deserves a chance to have his say.”
