Great Robin Williams once consoled a crying woman at the airport after her husband’s suicide

Not many people possess the ability to impact others in ways and forms that lead to crucial changes in their lives. Speaking of those special individuals, we can’t help but think of one and only Robin Williams. His incredible talent and a heart of gold made him one of the best people the world has ever heard of.

He could make everyone laugh, even while he was going through personal struggles.

Unfortunately, Williams died of suicide on Monday, August 11, 2014, and left millions mourning his death. The news came as a huge surprise. People couldn’t stop but wonder how someone so cheerful and fun could die in such horrific manner. But there was more to the story than everyone assumed. The autopsy revealed that Williams had Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), a neurological disease in which protein deposits, called Lewy bodies, develop in nerve cells in the brain regions involved in thinking, memory and movement (motor control), and not Prskinson’s disease as doctors claimed during his life.

Robin Williams was greater than life. His inspiring speeches and quotes which touched many hearts reflected the way he lived.

Now, one woman named Kate Lyon Osher shared an emotional encounter she had with the late actor while she was crying at the LA airport. She had her late husband’s ashes with her and the TSA security gave her a hard time.

“…It wasn’t always easy to get a Tupperware of your late husband’s ashes through TSA security, and at LAX one afternoon I found myself on the receiving end of an agent with a power trip like no other,” Kate wrote, as quoted by HuffPost.

In order to be able to proceed, she had to show her husband’s death certificate, which made her cry.

“I made it to the airport bar still crying and clutching my little container,” Kate went on to say. “I sat in a corner table facing the wall so no one could see how hysterical I was, with my whiskey on the rocks providing support, and I felt a hand on my shoulder.

“‘Miss, I just want to be sure you are OK. I see you are traveling alone, and I saw what happened, and I just really want to be sure you are OK,'” a soft voice said.

As she lifted her head, Kate realized it was Robin Williams. She never thought someone that famous would be walking at the airport all by himself and would take the time to make sure some random woman was doing okay.

“I was still crying that ugly cry where you are trying to catch your breath, and I gave him the Cliff Notes version of circumstances,” Kate recalled. “His eyes got a little glossy. His voice got softer. And he said to me, ‘Addiction is a real b–ch. Mental illness and depression are the mother of all b–ches. I am so sorry for all the pain your husband was in. I’m so sorry for the pain you are in now. But it sounds like you have family and friends and love. And that tips the scale a bit, right?’ And he walked me to the gate, as we were on the same commercial flight.”

Williams made Kate laugh. He tried impersonating the TSA security guys in order to cheer her up, and he nailed it.

“…when we parted ways, he hugged me. With his famously hairy arms, he gave me a huge, warm, bear hug, and it sustained me. It was a moment I think about all the time. That moment saved me. And sustained me. He sustained me during one of the most difficult moments of my life,” Kate wrote.

The news of Robin Williams’ death broke Kate’s heart.

“Rest in peace, Mr. Williams,” she continued. “May you find the peace that eluded you here and may you keep the angels laughing. Thanks for being there that day for me. You were the angel I needed. And I know you spoke from experience, and I appreciated that.”

Robin Williams was one of a kind. We still miss him dearly every single day.

School staff raises money and gets beloved custodian his dream car

Chris Jackson, who works as a custodian at Unity Grove Elementary school, is one of those people who are always more than happy to step in for everyone in need of help. From students, to school stuff, he’s never turned anyone down when it comes to lending a hand.

Jackson has never lost his positive attitude despite the fact that he has found himself in some hard times recently.

As it turns out, he experienced difficulties making ends meet, and on top of that, he was forced to walk to work every single day because it only takes him an hour, while taking the bus would add an hour more, sometimes hour 45.

Source: YouTube/ 11Alive

Speaking of his situation, Jackson told 11 Alive, “We had buses, transportation, but I was quicker than the bus. It would add an hour, hour 45. And I was only an hour from my job. So for me, there’s no stopping me.”

No matter his personal struggles, he never considered quitting and finding another job because he loves working with the people and the students at Unity Grove Elementary. “But I didn’t quit. I didn’t run away. I just stay. I put my pride aside. I just come to work, smile, be me,” Jackson said.

In order to pay him back for everything he does for the school, Jackson’s colleagues decided to surprise him with a new car. They knew he was saving for one, and stepped in for him, just as he has stepped in for them many times before.

In a Facebook video, we see two teachers asking Jackson to come with them at the parking lot pretending they need some sort of assistance. Jackson, as always, agrees to help. He has no idea he is about to get the car he dreamed of buying for so long.

As they approach a Chevrolet Impala, one of the teachers hands Jackson the keys. He is left in complete disbelief when he realizes the car is his.

“If y’all was in my body right now, I can’t move!” Jackson can be heard saying. “I’m stuck. I’m really stuck.”

Speaking of the idea to surprise Jackson, Special Ed Teacher Jodi Combs said, “There has never been a day where he has not come in with a smile on his face. The kids here adore him. They love Mr. Chris. And he just works so hard.

“We heard that Chris had fallen on some hard times and we pulled together to help with his immediate needs.”

This story is truly inspiring because it reminds us that humanity is still alive.

The 1960’s golden boy of Hollywood, Richard Chamberlain looks awesome at 87

“The slim, butter-haired hunk with the near-perfect Ivy-League charm and smooth, intelligent demeanor, had the distaff fans fawning unwavering over him.” This is how great actor, who portrayed the role of Dr. Kildare, Richard Chamberlain, was described at the time he appeared on screen and stole the hearts of many.

Shutterstock

Richard was born in 1934 in Beverly Hills, California, to mother Elsa Winnifred and father Charles Axion Chamberlain, a salesman. Although he didn’t enjoy school, he still managed to graduate from Beverly Hills High School and attend Pomona College.

Ever since he was very young, Richard imagined himself playing on stage and on screen. “We used to go to double-bills on a dime and I thought, ‘Whoa, that’s a good place to be—up on the screen,’” he recalled speaking to Palm Spring Life. “I was always fascinated with the idea of being an actor. The problem was I was always a little withdrawn, shy, and not very sure of myself. But the people up on screen seemed so confident.”

After college, Richard decided to try himself in the film industry and Paramount Pictures was interested in him, but as the Korean war took place, he was drafted into the Army for 16 months. After his service, he was convinced his place belonged in Hollywood and went on to make his dream come true.

In 1961, after playing minor roles, he was cast for that of Dr. Kildare. This series was his major breakthrough which helped him make a name for himself.

Overnight, Richard became one of the most beloved actors with millions of fans. Dr. Kildare brought him not only fame, but also a Golden Globe Award for Best TV Star in 1963.

The series followed the life of Dr. Kildare and his relationship with his mentor Dr. Leonard Gillespie, played by Raymond Massey, at the  fictional “Blair General Hospital.”

The reason why people loved the series so much, according to the star himself, was that the doctor was portrayed as caring and someone who was always there for his patients.

”It was hugely successful right from the beginning all over the world. It was my ultimate dream come true, everything I had ever dreamed of for my own life and creativity, it was a phenomenal stroke of excellent good fortune,” Richard said. “I think people are fascinated by medical protection, of situations in life like this. Everybody knows that someday you’ll be sick, break something or another problem, and you’ll need a doctor.”

As MGM, with whom Richard had a contract at the time, wanted to use his fame in order to promote other movies in which they cast him, so he shot around the clock and barely took any rest.

”I never got any time off. And if their was a week or so off, they’d send me somewhere and do publicity. I took ballet classes and singing lessons after work, so I kind of escaped.”

After Twilight of Honor and Joy in the Morning, Richard turned to his first love, the theater, and was part of a number of productions, including The Philadelphia StoryPrivate Lives and West Side Story. He then went to England where he played in productions like Hamlet in 1969 and Richard II in 1971.

Richard, however, believed his job in Hollywood wasn’t done and he returned to California. He starred in Shogun in 1980 and The Thorn Birds in 1983. The latter brought him a Golden Globe Award. The series itself won several Golden Globes and several Emmy Awards.

In 2003, at the age of almost 70, Richard finally confessed what he tried hiding most of his life, that he was a homosexual. He made the confession through his book, Shattered Love. Some of his closest colleagues said they knew deep down that Richard loved men.

Speaking to the New York Times, the actor who was ranked at No. 7 in TV Guide’s list of “TV’s 25 Greatest Teen Idols” said, “When you grow up in the ’30s, ’40s and ’50s being gay, it not only ain’t easy, it’s just impossible. You cannot do it, that being gay was the worst thing you can possibly be. I assumed there was something terribly wrong with me. And even becoming famous and all that, it was still there.”

The now 86 year old actor has still a lot to give to the film industry. He recently starred in the drama film Finding Julia and according to his Facebook page he will be part of the fictional drama Echoes of the Past.

Richard said in 2019 that during these last past years he finally figured it out how to be happy to be himself.

Mysterious sea creature ‘larger than a human’ captured on video

The thought that creatures still unknown to humans live deep down the ocean is simply fascinating. The truth is that the number of undiscovered species of various aquatic animals is huge and the more we learn of the sea and ocean world the more stunned we are.

Recently, a group of marine biologists were investigating seafloor anomaly at the Red Sea when they noticed something unusual deep bellow the surface. After further inspection, they realized they stumbled upon a wrecked ship named “Pella,” which sank back in 2011. As the OceanX technicians decided to send their remotely operated vehicle (ROV) down to the ship to investigate further, they got more than they ever hoped for.

All of a sudden, they noticed an enormous creature which they described as “larger than a human.” In fact, they believe it was a giant squid. The greatest anyone has ever seen.

Mattie Rodrigue, OceanX science program lead, said of the unusual experience, “I will never forget what happened next for as long as I live. All of a sudden, as we’re looking at the bow of the shipwreck, this massive mysterious creature comes into view, takes a look at the ROV, and curls its entire body around the bow of the wreck.”

Source: YouTube/ OceanX

After consulting other experts, one of them, zoologist Dr. Michael Vecchione, said, “I can tell you what I think it is and why I think it is. I think it’s a species called the purpleback flying quid. And in the area that you’re operating, in the Red Sea, there’s a well-known population of those. They get really big. I think what you’re seeing is what’s called the giant form of Sthenoteuthis.”

He added, “They will approach a bait the way that that one approached that bait and they often swim the way that the other videos showed the animal swimming. And in particular, the fin size, the proportions of the fin relative to the body, show me that it’s not a giant squid. If you stop it right there, you see it’s got fins that are short and broad and sort of thicken together. They look like sort of an arrowhead. I know that you probably wanted to think that you had some video of giant squids, but I can tell you but I’m absolutely certain it’s not an Architeuthis dux.”

What happened to Nicole Lewis from “600-lb life?”

Losing weight is never easy. It takes a lot of discipline and a strong mindset. However, when some people reach certain weight, they know it’s time to change their eating habits, and with that, to change their lives.

Many individuals who are overweight and don’t see a way out of the situation they found themselves in seek help from professionals. One of those professionals who has given a new lease on life to so many obese people is the one and only Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, also known as Dr. Now, a bariatric surgeon.

Over the years, he has helped many overweight people take control of their lives through the TLC show My 600-lb Life.

One of the participants of the show was then 23-year-old mother of two Nicole Lewis. She weighted over 700 pounds at her heaviest and had a hard time performing even the simplest of tasks.

What caught the attention of the viewers was the way Nicole took her baths. Because her bathroom’s door didn’t fit her, she would get outside her house, on the porch, where her daughter or her fiance would bath her using a hose.

This moment being shown on TV was crucial for Nicole to get on the show, according to her. It was embarassing, but it was her only chance to meet the famous doctor.

”When they came to my house, they were like, ‘Okay, we have to do a shower scene, we have to do real life stuff … for you to be a part of this process,” Nicole explained in an interview with Rover Radio in 2017.

”I sat and thought about it for the longest time,” she continued. ”And it was either, me not let them do that, and me not get the help, and possibly not be around another year, or just to let it happen.”

When she went to Texas, Nicole listened to Dr. Now’s advice and started losing weight. However, at one point, she learned she got evicted from her home and was forced to return to Ohio for some time. Despite that, Nicole followed the strict diet, got her surgery, and managed to lose over 300 pounds.

When she thinks of the first ever episode of herself in the show, she says she doesn’t want to watch it because it was the period of her life when she hit the rock bottom.

”I hate the episode because that was a point in my life where I should not have existed other than for my children. I was an annoyance to my family, is what I felt,” she said.

Today, Nicole looks completely unrecognizable. After so many years spent at home, she finally found a regular job. Unlike many of the participants of the show who end their relationships after their transformation, Nicole stayed with her fiance.

Last year, she shared some photos of herself and wrote, “I may not be even close to where im suppose to be! But This comparison shows me… that im sure as heck not where i began in 2016!.. Proud of how far iv come in this journey! I have been soo focused on how much weight iv gained,… when i should be focused on how much iv lost!. 2020 is my year!”

Nicole stayed in touch with Dr. Now but she distanced herself from the show. In fact, in the spring of 2020, she filed a lawsuit against the production company because as she claimed, they never paid for medical costs in connection with the bypass surgery, which she said the company would do.

Chumlee from “Pawn Stars” is unrecognizable after losing 160 pound

Ever since it first opened back in 1989, people have tried to pawn and sell a huge number of unique items to one of the most famous pawn shops there are, The Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada. The place now hold thousands of pieces and resembles a museum with all the historical items including hand-written letters from presidents, pistols from a number of different wars, and a lot more. In fact, it probably has to offer anything that comes to your mind.

The great thing about this store is that over the last 12 years, we’ve got to witness how it operates all thanks to the reality show Pawn Stars. The everyday encounters of the owners of the shop with different people who have a lot to offer, along with the experts who appraise the artifacts, made Pawn Stars one of the best reality shows on TV. It doesn’t really come as a surprise that it has been on air for 12 years now and that it won a number of awards, including ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards for Best Television Series in 2011, 2012, and 2013. In addition, the show has been nominated for three Critics Choice Television Awards.

When the shop was approached with the idea to be filmed for a reality by History Chanel, the founder of the store, Richard Benjamin “The Old Man” Harrison, disliked the idea. His son, Rick Harrison, told Review-Journal. “He thought it was the craziest, stupidest thing he’d ever heard. I remember telling him, ‘Dad, you’ve got to come in Saturday for the sizzle reel.’ And he looks at me and says, ‘Rick, you’re never getting a bleeping TV show. It’s just not going to happen.’ I begged him to come in that Saturday. But we had to have him. He was the grumpy old man that everyone loves.

“At first, I just thought a season or two would be good for business,” he added. “It’s really bizarre. I’m just a fat pawnbroker, and now I’m known all over the world.”

Ever since 2009, a staggering 637 episodes have been shot.

“The Old Man” passed away in 2018, and Rick took the shop over together with his son Corey and Corey’s childhood best friend Austin Russell known as Chumlee.

Chumlee became a crucial part of the show and turned into a celebrity. He’s one of those characters who make people laugh and bring all the fun.

Speaking of the start of the show, Chumlee recalled on the podcast PodKats!, “They were making a short episode and we had about 12 employees at the time. They went through everybody, saying, ‘All right, who’s going to be our fourth member?’

“I didn’t watch too much TV, but I decided I’d go watch some TV, some reality shows, and I kind of realized what was missing was the funny part of the show, the whipping boy is what I called it at the time. Someone they could make fun of and laugh with.”

Chumlee turned out to be just the guy for the role.

While on the show, Chumlee also expanded his own business Chumlee’s Candy Shop, where he sells candy, clothes and different accessories.

“I would do a spinoff show, but everyone says the grass is greener on the other side,” Chumlee told Looper.

“But we love doing Pawn Stars, takes us about seven months to film it out of the year. I just don’t know if there’s enough in the candy shop, it’s in the shipping container right there.

“What I think we should do is a spinoff of the whole pawn [area]. There’s the barbecue next to me, I’ve got the candy shop, you know what I mean, Corey can have the pizza.”

Source: Facebook/ Chumlee

At one point of his life, Chumlee weighted 350 pounds, but he then decided to make a change in his life and turned to a healthier lifestyle, following his friend Corey’s example.

“I went in and tested for sleep apnea, I had to do something about it,” he told Looper. “I got the machine and it just wasn’t that great, so I went to the doctor, just to get a consultation on getting a balloon, and by the time I left, he had me signed up to get all my procedures done to get a lap band. I’m sorry, not a lap band, a gastric sleeve. I mess it up. A gastric sleeve.

“They actually cut my stomach out and sewed it back up into a six-inch pouch and it settles somewhere around eight or nine inches, they say. And that’s been the tool I needed because it’s still a mental battle. I still have that mental battle. I always tell people I got that big because I enjoy eating food. Enjoyed the taste of it, it’s comforting.

“So I got the surgery, it’s helped me, it’s been a mental battle. I stay in the gym, but I try to go not continuously in there. I try to go there three days a week, I miss weeks here and there, but I just try to stay focused and eat well and live healthy.”

Chumlee shared two photos of him on Facebook showing him before and after his weight loss.

“Can you believe it, I’ve lost over 150lbs !! How many people out there have always struggled with your weight like I did?” he wrote.

“What has been the hardest part about losing weight for you? Drop your questions below!! I want to see how I can help you out.”

According to his friends, he’s not planning on going back to his old self and is dedicated to his new and improved lifestyle.

Last year, he took to Twitter to remind his followers of what’s important in life. “Success shouldn’t change you,” he wrote. “Any more than you’re normally, naturally gonna change and evolve as a person, which I think everyone does. But, if you let success change you, you’re not being true to yourself. I just stay true to myself, and if I make myself happy, along the way, I’m sure plenty of other people will be happy.”

We are so happy Chumlee is feeling the best he has ever had.

Military dad reunites with daughter after being deployed when she was just 10 days old

When we say that our military men and women sacrifice a lot when serving the country and getting deployed in far away lands, we mean it. Just imagine missing out on such meaningful events such as birthdays, holidays, celebrations, and many times, missing out on seeing your child grow up.

Unfortunately, a huge number of children are “robbed” of the opportunity to be around their military mom or dad, but they know that there’s a lot at stake, and that’s the freedom of our country and the safety of its citizens.

The best part about deployment are the reunions. Over the years, we have witnessed many touching reunions between parents and their kids, and the following is likely one of the best we’ve ever seen.

When Jordan, 24, and his wife Sophie Hatt, 22, decided to tie the knot, they were both perfectly aware of the fact that Jordan would be away for quite some time. Three months after the wedding, Sophie got pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl whom they named Lily.

However, when Lily turned 10 days old, Jordan was deployed. He was forced to say goodbye to his tiny bundle of joy, but he knew duty was calling, and he accepted that call.

Almost a year later, in May 2021, the father returned home in Florida.

The video mom Sophie took melted thousands of hearts. She said, “He felt bad leaving me alone to raise our first child and I was dreading being without him and doing it on my own.”

Luckily, they are now together and can watch their girl turning into a lady.

Cleo Smith’s mother shares crushing update after her four-year-old daughter vanished in remote WA

The search for 4-year-old Cleo Smith who vanished from a campsite in rural Western Australia is still ongoing.

The family said that when they woke up on Saturday morning, at around 6am, the girl wasn’t there. She was wearing a one piece pajama suit and they last saw her at about 1.30am on Saturday near the Blowholes Campground at Macleod, some 50km north of Carnarvon where the family was staying. According to the police, she woke up at that time to ask for a glass of water and then fell asleep again.

Source: 7NEWS

WA Police senior inspector Jon Munday said they are all hoping the little girl is still alive.

“We are throwing all stops at this,” he said. “We hold grave concerns for Cleo. Every hour and every day that goes on we get more and more concerned.

“We have the best investigators from state crime with forensic working as hard as they can to cover all bases.”

The search, which started on Saturday, was resumed on Tuesday afternoon after a three-hour stop because of the bad weather.

Land, air and sea crews led the search up and down the coastline and around the campgrounds where the family had been camping. The entire area has been covered in posters as locals and other campers also joined in the extensive search for the little girl. SES and helicopter crews have been deployed as well.

Thousands of people are sharing Cleo’s mother, Ellie Smith’s, Facebook pleas in an attempt to help with the search.

Speaking to news.com.au, Inspector Munday said “It’s a very, very harsh environment. Until today it has been quiet warm, and there’s limited freshwater around. If she is out in the area, we do have grave concerns for her.”

At the time, the police and everyone involved are considering two scenarios, Cleo either wandering off, or being taken by someone.

Munday added that their concerns are getting more and more grave.

According to the family, who spoke publicly for the first time on Tuesday morning, Cleo’s sleeping bag was also missing at the time they realized the girl had vanished.

We are all praying for a positive outcome.
