Donald Trump claims there’s a ‘loophole’ which could allow him to serve third term as president

Donald Trump hasn’t ruled out the prospect of seeking a third term in the White House.

On March 30, the POTUS told NBC’s Kristen Welker he’s “not joking” about a potential third stint in office.

Currently, the Constitution doesn’t allow a single person to serve as the president of the country for three times, but allegedly there is a “loophole” Trump intends to “use” in order to change this.

“No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once,” the Constitution states.

“But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.”

So far, Donald Trump has opened up about the idea of a third term a number of times, but not many believed he was serious – unless not until recently, when he clearly hinted there are ways for him to continue his presidency beyond 2028.

“A lot of people want me to do it. But, I mean, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration,” he explained. “I’m focused on the current.

“I like working. I’m not joking. But I’m not – it is far too early to think about it,” he said, adding “there are methods which you could do it.”

Asked of the possibility JD Vance to run for a president and then pass the role to Trump, he answered, “That’s one,” adding there are other ways too but refused to provide other examples.

Congressman Andy Ogles has already introduced a House Joint Resolution that would amend the U.S. Constitution to allow a president to serve up to three terms, but no more.

Dark eye circles might be a subtle health warning

Dark eye circles are not that uncommon. In fact, many people struggle with them at some point in their life, and they can result from a range of factors.

The skin around the eyes is thinner and more delicate than that of other parts of our body, making it more prone to discoloration and blood flow.

While most under-eye bags are a result of temporary conditions such as lack of sleep, or maybe aging, they can also be a sign of more serious conditions.

But before we get to that, lets take a look at some of the less serious possible causes such as hyperpigmentation. This is a condition that can occur spontaneously or systematically as a result of sun exposure, allergic dermatitis, edema or swelling, hormones, and aging.

Shutterstock

This condition isn’t health-threatening and can be fixed though diet.

The swelling under the eyes can also be cause by an allergic reaction or excess buildup of fluids in the body. Also, they may appear with age due to the gravity affecting the collagen tissue of the under-eye skin, causing skin elasticity to weaken, sag, and build up fat tissue.

Other, more serious reasons, that cause dark eye circles can be poor circulation, food intolerance, and iron deficiency.

Shutterstock

One way to learn if your dark eye circles are due to poor circulation, try pushing gently against the skin there. When you take your finger away and notice the area becoming lighter and then getting dark again, slow blood flow might be what causes them.

Certain food allergies manifest through dark eye circles, according to the Mayo Clinic. They can be an allergic reaction to certain foods or added preservatives.

Shutterstock

The most serious condition is iron deficiency, especially if the dark eye circles are accompanied with other symptoms such as fatigue, frequent colds, and dizziness.

Low iron levels affect your body’s ability to produce hemoglobin, which is essential for carrying oxygen to cells. When this process is disrupted, poor blood circulation can lead to dark discoloration under the eyes.

Reasons why women cheat, according to a relationship expert

I used to think I had a solid grip on why infidelity happens, but the more I read about the reasons why women cheat, the more I realized it’s a lot more complex than I’d ever imagined. Cheating stings, and it often spells heartbreak for everyone involved. Yet it still happens, despite the enormous risks. Now, one expert has explained six primary factors behind this phenomenon, offering a fresh perspective on what drives some women to break their vows.

1. Feeling Emotionally Unfulfilled

Source: Freepik

One of the biggest reasons why women cheat lies in emotional neglect. I’ve seen this in friends who tried to communicate but felt like their words never truly landed. According to a study done in the UK and Australia, around 65% of women who cheated said emotional emptiness was at the heart of their decision. Conversations that stay shallow or go ignored can leave anyone feeling alone, but for some women, this loneliness propels them toward an affair.

What Does “Emotional Unfulfillment” Look Like?

Psychology Today suggests that when discussions always remain surface-level, or supportive responses are absent, women might feel emotionally abandoned. Over time, that sense of neglect can push them to find comfort elsewhere.

2. A Deeper Emotional Abandonment

Source: Freepik

Sometimes it’s not just feeling overlooked; it’s feeling truly disconnected from a partner. While men do stray for emotional reasons too, the research shows women are four times more likely to cheat if they believe their partner isn’t really into them. Tracey Cox, a world-leading relationship expert, points out that only about five percent of men cite this cause, but for women, it’s a bigger issue tied directly to self-esteem and emotional security.

3. Revenge After Disloyalty

Source: Freepik

I’ve heard friends admit they cheated purely out of a desire to “even the score.” This third common motivation stems from a form of retaliation: a partner betrayed them first, so they retaliate in kind. Tracey Cox says it’s about regaining agency and dignity after feeling wronged. It might not be the healthiest response, but that urge to hurt someone in the same way you’ve been hurt can be irresistible.

4. Power Imbalances in the Relationship

Some women cheat to regain control in relationships where they feel inferior. They may sense a constant power struggle over finances, status, or major life choices. If a partner is overly dominant or controlling, stepping outside the relationship can seem like a twisted path to self-empowerment. As Cox explains, if direct confrontation feels too risky, a covert affair might feel like the only way to tip the scales.

What Causes Power Struggles?

A few examples include:

  • Financial disparities
  • One partner making major decisions without input
  • Blame constantly placed on one person
  • Feeling unheard or dismissed

5. Dissatisfaction in Bed

Source: Freepik

It’s not just men who look elsewhere for excitement in the bedroom. A lackluster sex life is one of the reasons why women cheat, too. Nearly nine percent of women who strayed said it was simply because they weren’t getting their needs met at home. The fix often involves open-mindedness, trying new things, and honest discussions about desires. When both partners feel respected and satisfied, the temptation to seek thrills elsewhere generally goes down.

6. Stress Management

Source: Freepik

Sometimes, the simplest explanation is stress. Balancing work, raising a family, running a household—these responsibilities can feel crushing. According to Cox, some women turn to an affair to escape feeling overwhelmed or underappreciated. It’s their version of “me time,” a moment to indulge in pleasure rather than being stretched too thin by constant obligations.

The Expert Behind the Insights

Tracey Cox has made a career out of helping people navigate love and intimacy. She’s authored 17 books, shared her expertise on CNN and Oprah, and even launched her own line of bedroom-enhancing products. Her insight into the reasons why women cheat gives us a window into the emotional and psychological landscape leading to infidelity.

Preventing Infidelity Through Connection

If there’s a silver lining here, it’s that many of these factors boil down to unmet emotional or physical needs. Taking time to truly connect—through conversations, shared hobbies, or simply laughing at life’s curveballs—can keep a relationship healthy. Cox also advises mixing it up in and out of the bedroom, because novelty can reignite the spark that keeps two people faithful.

Building a Stronger Bond

At the end of the day, even good relationships have lulls. Boredom might set in, or life just feels too routine. Yet understanding these six reasons why women cheat can help couples address underlying issues before they boil over. By staying open-minded, trying new experiences, and remembering to communicate about the little things, partners can fortify their connection and minimize the risk of straying down a painful path.

Man diagnosed with stage 4 cancer after ignoring itchy skin

A number of people who have been diagnosed with severe illnesses such as cancer have opened up about their regrets regarding their failure to listen to their bodies and pay attention to the subtle signs.

The truth is that many of the symptoms of different types of cancer may be shared with other more common and less serious illnesses, so people tend to dismiss them. They only start paying attention to the changes in their body when the disease reaches certain stage.

Marly Garnreiter is one of those people who did not listen to the signs her body was warning her about. When she decided to visit a doctor, she was told that she was feeling unwell due to stress and failed to diagnose her properly.

She later learned she had Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Another person whose life story is similar to that of Garnreiter is Dilan Patel, a man who avoided visiting the doctor because he was “embarrassed” of one of the common symptoms – night sweats.

Dilan Patel was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma
The Patient Story/YouTube

“I’d wake up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat,” he said in a TikTok video.

“I mean SOAKED. My clothes, my bed – everything would be wet. It happened 2-3 times every single night. At first, I just thought, ‘Maybe I’m getting too hot under the covers?’ So I brushed it off.

“Weeks turned into months, and the night sweats didn’t stop. Looking back now, there were other signs, too. I was exhausted all the time, but I just thought it was because I was working long hours.”

Also, his skin felt dry and itchy all the time, forcing him to carry a moisturizer with him all the time.

“I had really itchy skin,” Dilan recalled. “I remember my legs especially used to itch really bad until the point where I’d scratch them until they bled.”

The Patient Story/YouTube

He continued: “I used to carry a little tub of body lotion around with me. I just thought I was getting dry skin because of the weather changes.”

However, Dilan didn’t ask for medical advice until he felt a lump in his armpit.

After running a number of tests, Dilan was told he had stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

“Five tumours. It had even spread to my lung. I couldn’t believe it. I’d spent so long brushing off my symptoms, convincing myself they weren’t a big deal”, he shared.

“But my body had been screaming at me for almost two years. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from this experience, it’s to pay attention to your body.

“Those little signs and symptoms? They’re there for a reason. Don’t wait until it’s too late.”

After undergoing severe treatments, including rounds of chemotherapy, he’s now cancer-free for nine years.

According to NHS, “Hodgkin lymphoma is an uncommon cancer that develops in the lymphatic system, which is a network of vessels and glands spread throughout your body.”

It mostly affects people aged 20 to 40, as well as those older than 75. In the UK only, the number of people diagnosed with this form of cancer is 2,100 each year.

If diagnosed on time, it can be successfully treated.

Mother who killed her two kids makes crucial error at start of husband’s murder trial

Lori Vallow Daybell, the 51-year-old Idaho mother who killed her two children, faced court once again on April 7, this time for a conspiracy to murder her 4th husband, Charles Vallow.

She has been charged with allegedly conspiring to have her husband killed so she could marry her new love, Chad Daybell, a religious novelist known for writing books about doomsday.

During the trial, Lori represented herself and tried to portray her husband as the aggressor in the relationship who led himself to death following an incident, claiming he once chased her with a bat.

“Spouses having insurance policies is not a crime. Collecting Social Security is not a crime. Self-defense is not a crime,” Lori Vallow Daybell told the jury. “A family tragedy is not a crime – it’s a tragedy.”

Charles died back in 2019 after he was fatally shot by Lori’s brother, Alex Cox.

The murder happened at Lori’s Arizona home.

Following the deadly shooting, Alex called 911 to report the killing. He claimed he had been attacked by a bat and that he shot Charles in self-defense.

Cox died that same year of natural causes, as reported by authorities.

Facing the court on April 7, Lori, who has been sentenced to life in prison for killing her children, J.J Vallow and Tylee Ryan, pleaded not guilty.

The children of Lori Vallow that she killed
Lori Vallow’s children

Before her opening at court, Prosecutor Treena Kay claimed that phone records, witness accounts, and forensic proof will demonstrate that Cox’s shooting of Charles was not an act of self-defense.

“Lori Vallow wanted to be Lori Daybell, wife of Chad Daybell, and in July 2019 Lori Vallow wanted to keep the same lifestyle that she had with Charles. And she could get all of this if Charles was dead,” Kay said. “She could marry Chad Daybell and become Lori Daybell. She would get a million-dollar life insurance policy.

“Lori Vallow is why Alex was able to shoot Charles,” she said. “Lori Vallow is why Charles is dead.”

The “Doomsday Mother,” as the media refers to Lori, is also accused of attempted murder in connection with her ex-nephew-in-law, Brandon Boudreaux whose shooting happened within months of that of her husband.

Further, she attempted to call upon Brandon as a witness, but refused to reveal information about his testimony, claiming she didn’t want to give away her defence.

Since prosecutors hadn’t interviewed Brandon in advance, the judge informed the defendant that they cannot call witnesses without first providing the other party with sufficient notice and details about why the witnesses are relevant.

Further, explaining why she decided to defend herself, Lori Vallow Daybell told True Crime Arizona, “There’s lots of reasons. I am not an attorney. I’m not an attorney. I do not have training to be an attorney. There’s something that I figured out when I got to this jail. You know, this experience has been five years running.

“I came here with the intention of having a speedy trial. Right? These charges came first. Right? They’re like five years old. I first talked to the attorneys, and I was like, they’ve had five years, the prosecutors, to put their case together.

“And I really want to go to trial, we need to go.”

Trump’s big wager on awaited tariffs: a new era for international trade

Trump’s decision to impose tariffs on several countries has shaken the entire world. However, this isn’t a move the president of one of the most powerful economies would make in haste. On the contrary, his plan to strengthen the US economy through these measures is something he has been discussing for years.

The tariffs have impacted a number of nations – from ones he considers enemies to those he sees as friends.

America imposing a 10% tariffs on nearly all imports, starting Friday night, is something Trump considers a “declaration of economic independence.”

During a Rose Garden ceremony before signing the tariffs through an executive order, Trump declared, “We’re standing up for the American worker, and we are finally putting America first.”

Saying he’s aware he would face resistance from “globalists” and “special interests,” he asked his people to trust his judgement.

“Remember, every prediction made by our opponents about trade in the past 30 years has been utterly wrong,” Trump stated.

“April 2nd 2025 will forever be remembered as the day American industry was reborn. America’s destiny was reclaimed and the day that we began to make America wealthy again. For decades, our country has been looted, pillaged, raped and plundered by nations near and far, both friend and foe alike.”

AP

“Americans really suffered gravely. They watched in anguish as foreign leaders have stolen our jobs, foreign cheaters have ransacked our factories and foreign scavengers that have torn apart our once beautiful American dream.

“Our country and its taxpayers have been ripped off for more than 50 years, but it is not going to happen anymore,” Trump said.

Experts believe that the tariffs, that start at 10% but are different for different countries – 53% on China, 20% on both the European Union and South Korea – will affect American buyers, resulting in higher prices and sparking a global recession.

REUTERS

According to Ken Rogoff, ex-chief economist at the International Monetary Fund, the risk of America falling into recession has risen to 50% following Trump’s decision.

“This essentially topples a nuclear device onto the global trading system,” Rogoff commented to the BBC, emphasizing the far-reaching effects of such tariffs on US import.

Further, the decision made by Trump’s administration to impose tariffs could escalate trade conflicts and strain relations with US allies like Japan and South Korea.

Despite the possible consequences, Trump expressed hope, saying, “Hopefully, in years to come, you will look back and realize we made the right choice.”

Mother of teen stabbed at school track meet breaks silence

The tragic passing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, a Frisco ISD student-athlete, has resonated deeply within his Texas community.

Austin was tragically stabbed to death at a champions meet on April 2. Reportedly, he died in his twin’s brother’a arms.

According to witnesses, Austin got into an argument with another student, also 17, Karmelo Anthony, allegedly over a camping spot.

Sadly, as the argument got heated, Karmelo stubbed Austin in the heart, leaving him to bleed to death in his twin brother’s arms.

Austin was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Family handout

Hi brother, Hunter, recalled the incident.

“This kid was sitting under our tent at track, we asked him to move. He started getting aggressive and talking reckless and my brother stepped in and said, ‘you need to move,’” Hunter explained. “And he’s like, ‘Make me move.’”

A person who was at the scene said everything escalated very quickly. “Touch me and see what happens,” Karmelo allegedly said before he pulled a black knife and stabbed Austin after fleeing the scene.

Karmelo was later arrested but claimed he attacked Austin during an act of self-defense.

“They were twins, identical twins. And his brother was holding on to him, trying to make it stop bleeding, and he died in his brother’s arms,” the devastated father, Jeff Metcalf, told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.

“I could see all the blood, and I saw where the wound was, and I was very concerned, so I had to find his brother, and we rushed to the hospital. And we prayed, and it’s God’s plan, I don’t understand it, but they weren’t able to save him.

“This is murder.”

The devastated mother of the stabbed teen also broke her silence after her son’s tragic passing.

”My son is gone, and I don’t really have words,” Meghan Metcalf shared on The Will Cain Show and added: ”He’s just going to be so missed by mostly our family, but this whole community has really wrapped their arms around us. If I could say anything to the nation, I would say to make sure that you just hug your babies tight, because you don’t know when [is] the last time you get to do it.”

She said she has a hard time understanding how could a moment of anger lead to such a devastating loss.

“Just because the kid was mad – my son is not here anymore and I don’t understand it,” she said. “I am so angry at that boy. It’s just not fair.”

Austin was loved by the entire community and everyone who’s ever met him. He was a very successful athlete and a raising star.

The father of the killer, who has been since charged with first degree murder, claimed his son is a good boy who acted in self-defense.

Grieving parents of 10-year-old who died by suicide share the warning signs they noticed

Parents of 10-year-old Autumn Bushman, a fourth-grader at Roanoke’s Mountain View Elementary School, shared their heartbreak over their daughter’s sudden passing and spoke of the events that led to the tragedy.

Mark and Summer Bushman say they have noticed their daughter’s behavior change weeks prior to her devastating decision to take her own life.

“She was the youngest and probably the wildest,” Autumn’s mother Summer said. “She was a ball full of energy. It didn’t matter if you thought she was going to fall through my living room floor. She was at it with the cartwheels inside of my house at all times.”

Mountain View Elementary School in Roanoke, Virginia that Autumn Bushman attended/ Google Maps

The Bushman family told WDBJ that Autumn stared sleeping more, smiled less, and wore clothes darker in color than usual in the weeks preceding the tragedy.

Her obituary said she was a child who had “deep empathy, was soft-hearted, and always ready to lend a listening ear or offer support.”

Sadly, Autumn was a victim of b******g. Her parents allegedly knew about the ordeal their daughter was going through and reported it to the school, but the school didn’t take much action

Students at the school harassed Autumn because she always stood up for others and didn’t stay silent when something felt wrong.

“She was one if somebody was getting b*****d or picked on, she would stand up for them. And unfortunately, that may have made her a target for more b******g,” Summer Bushman said.

Sadly, Autumn wasn’t only target while at school, but through the social media too.

“This is an age where they have tablets and they have phones, so it’s happening around the clock. They can’t really escape,” her dad said.

In a statement to WDBJ, the Roanoke County Public Schools described Autumn’s death as a “tragic loss” and said that they would “stand in support of the family, friends, and Mountain View community.”

“While we cannot discuss the specifics of this situation due to federal privacy laws and out of respect for the family, we are conducting a thorough review. Our schools take all reports of bullying and conflicts among students very seriously”, the statement read.

“Our schools educate students and respond appropriately to specific situations when we are made aware, including working with parents and families of students involved.”

Autumn’s mom is urging other parents out there to act if they notice anything unusual about their children’s behavior in order to stop tragedies like this from taking place.

“Go through your child’s cell phone to make sure that they are being kind to other children [and] to make sure children are being kind to them,” she said.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the grieving family.

What’s the purpose of the fabric strip across hotel beds?

Most of us have stayed at a hotel at some point in our life, and no matter if our experience has been a pleasant one or not, we’ve probably noticed the long strip of fabric lying across the foot of the beds and wondered about its purpose.

Well, if you are a frequent visitor of different hotels you are probably already familiar with the function it serves. However, those of you who believe it’s only there just to make the bed look better, you might be wrong.

In fact, the fabric strip placed across beds at hotels is there for a reason.

Namely, one of the purposes it serves is to protect the bedding. Namely, guests often toss their suitcases and clothes on the bed when entering the room, so the fabric runner on the bed acts like a protective barrier. Since their color is often dark, they don’t get as dirty as the white sheets, right?

Further, it also serves as a food placement, with guests placing their food on it in order to avoid spills and crumbs on the linen.

Many of the guests rest their feet on the linen, again, protecting the white sheets from getting dirty.

The not so good thing about the fabric strip placed across hotel beds is that it doesn’t get cleaned as often as the bed sheets because it doesn’t get dirty as much.

Since bed runners protect the bed from getting dirty by the guests’ shoes, feet, and luggage and are not that clean, you may want to take them off completely before taking a good night sleep.

Next time you are at a hotel room and you spot a bed runner, you’ll know its purpose.

Although it seems like a minor detail, it plays a big part in style, comfort, and cleanliness.

Grandmother reveals what she looked like before full body tattoos

Tattoos! You either love them or hate them. While many are convinced that tattoos are a unique form of self-expression, others find them unappealing and even terrifying.

Kerstin Tristan is a 56-year-old mother and grandmother who drastically changed her looks when she decided to spend all her life savings on inking her body — almost all of it.

The thing is, when we think of grandmothers, tattoos and other forms of body modification aren’t exactly the first things that come to mind — in fact, they might not come to mind at all.

But Kerstin isn’t your typical grandmother. She is a tattoo lover who doesn’t seem to stop getting them, at least not any time soon.

What’s interesting about this woman is that not only did she not have any tattoos until 2015, but she even hated them. However, everything changed when she got her first.

“I simply just wanted to try something new. We all live just once, and I thought that at my age, something real has to come,”  she revealed.

Ever since she got her first tattoo, Kerstin has spent over $30,000 on tattoos only.

Her looks is so captivating, that she has thousands of followers on TikTok and millions of views on her videos.

Some of her tattoos include roses on her legs, a leopard print tattoo on her shoulders, and several detailed portraits on her arms.

”When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love,” she says.

Kerstin receives plenty of comments on the photos she shares of herself, with people calling her bold and unique.

“A beautiful work of art,” someone commented on a photo of her. “Wow stunning photo,” another added.

Recently, she shared a photo of herself before she fell in love with inking and the difference is stunning.

Allegedly, this grandmother once confessed that her decision to cover her body in tattoos was because she didn’t love her skin.

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova hits out after fencer disciplined for kneeling and refusing to face trans athlete

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova shared her feelings over a controversy at the Cherry Blossom tournament in the United States when fencer Stephanie Turner took a knee in protest and refused to compete against a trans athlete.

Following her action, Turner was shown a black card, which meant she was disqualified from the tournament.

This comes at a time when the issue of transwomen competing in female sports has been a hot topic after President Donald Trump signed an executive order stating that the government of the United States only recognizes two genders: male and female.

Martina Navratilova, who has been vocal against transgender women competing against biological women commented on the incident involving fencer Turner.

“This is what happens when female athletes protest!,” she wrote on X. “Anyone here still thinks this is fair??? I am fuming… and shame on @USAFencing, shame on you for doing this. How dare you throw women under the gender bulls*** bus!!!”

A fan responded to her post, saying that in fencing, men and women should be able to compete against each other, but the 18-time Grand Slam winner didn’t agree.

“You would believe wrong,” Navratilova answered back. “Strength matters in most sports and it certainly matters in fencing. And that’s just one advantage.”

Martina/X

In the past, Navratilova has reportedly sent a letter urging the NCAA to ban trans women from women’s sports and became a leader of the Women’s Sports Policy Working Group, formed in response to Joe Biden’s inclusive mandate.

She also boycotted Nike when they paired with transgender TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Turner’s opponent, whom she refused to compete against, Redmond Sullivan, was born in 2005 as a male who competed in the men’s division until September 2024 when he transferred to Wagner College’s women’s team.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Turner said, “I saw that I was going to be in a pool with Redmond, and from there I said, ‘OK, let’s do it. I’m going to take the knee.

“I knew what I had to do because USA Fencing had not been listening to women’s objections. I took a knee immediately at that point. Redmond [Sullivan] was under the impression that I was going to start fencing.

“So when I took the knee, I looked at the ref and I said: ‘I’m sorry, I cannot do this. I am a woman, and this is a man, and this is a women’s tournament. And I will not fence this individual.

“Redmond didn’t hear me, and he comes up to me, and he thinks that I may be hurt, or he doesn’t understand what’s happening. He asks: ‘Are you OK?’ And I said: ‘I’m sorry. I have much love and respect for you, but I will not fence you.”

The USA Fencing also responded to the incident.

In a statement, they wrote: “USA Fencing enacted our current transgender and non-binary athlete policy in 2023.

“The policy was designed to expand access to the sport of fencing and create inclusive, safe spaces. The policy is based on the principle that everyone should have the ability to participate in sports and was based upon the research available of the day.”

Their message continued: “We respect the viewpoints on all sides and encourage our members to continue sharing them with us as the matter evolves.

“It’s important for the fencing community to engage in this dialogue, but we expect this conversation to be conducted respectfully, whether at our tournaments or in online spaces.

“The way to progress is by respectful discussion based in evidence.”

Sullivan’s team expressed their opinion on the matter, stating that Redmond Sullivan, as someone who declares themselves as a transgender individual, had all the right to take part in the women’s fencing tournament.

After 10 years in a tiny cage, bears take their first steps toward freedom

Animal rescue stories restore our faith in humanity! No animal deserves to spend their life in captivity or in the hands of neglectful owners who make their days a living hell.

Misha and Dasha are two lovely bears that spent ten years of their lives caged near a restaurant in Armenia located at a river bank.

Their cage was small, with barely enough space for animals of their kind. They spent their days pacing back and forth with no room for anything else. The saddest part of all was that the cage was often flooded.

Desperate to get out of the cage, they would often bang their heads against the metal bars while tourists who were enjoying their meal watched them and didn’t do anything.

The poor animals served as tourist attractions, living in misery and desperation.

One time, when the waters from the river raised, they nearly engulfed their tiny cage. Misha and Dasha struggled to stay afloat and barely survived.

”A few years back, the river flooded, and the bears almost drowned,” said Lis Key, PR and communications manager for International Animal Rescue (IAR). ”The rescue team had to cut through the cages to release them, so they must have been trapped when the river flooded and in serious danger of drowning.”

IAR fought to rescue the bears for a long time, but they couldn’t do much because the restaurant’s owner refused to release them. Eventually, with the help of the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC), they tried to convince him to set them free.

Finally, after years of abuse and neglect, Misha and Dasha were transported to a beautiful sanctuary in the mountains. They could roam free and experience the beauty of freedom.

As winter approached, the two bears settled inside a cave to hibernate, and with the spring came something extraordinary.

Dasha had given birth to two cubs.

At the time of her rescue, the rescuers were unaware that she was carrying babies.

“She received all necessary care after being rescued, enough fruits, veggies, nuts, and honey to gain weight and fat before hibernation… But nobody guessed her good appetite was a result of pregnancy,” Vicky Mkrtchyan, environmental projects coordinator for FPWC, said.

These two bears left their suffering behind and started a new life, one that they have always deserved to have.

The bear family of four is now thriving and enjoying their days in their natural habitat.

Elephant rescued after over 80 years in shackles

Life in captivity is the worst form of living. Sadly, many animals experience this fate because of humans’ cruelty. Among them is an elephant named Grandma Somboon that spent over 80 years in captivity.

This poor animal was taken from the wild as a calf and spent her life carrying tourists and performing in shows.

Eventually, Somboon caught the attention of Save Elephant Foundation in Thailand, an organization fighting for the elephants held in captivity.

“It’s time for Grandma to be cared for well and allowed to rest,” the rescue shared on Facebook last year and added: “We’re on a rescue mission to protect Somboon and transport her to her final true home.”

It didn’t take long before they succeeded in their mission to finally give the beautiful animal the life she has always deserved.

Free from the shackles, Somboon was transported to the Elephant Nature Park sanctuary.

However, it didn’t mean her ordeal was over.

Sadly, the years of hard labor and neglect took their toll on her health and her body.

Emaciated, with a missing tooth, severely dehydrated, and with blurry eyes, she still had a long way to go until full recovery.

“Upon arrival, many new elephants, still plagued by paranoia and lack of trust, take weeks before they will lie down,” the rescue wrote.

“However, Grandma Somboon defied the norm. Exhausted from her journey and a lifetime of hardship, she promptly sought the sand pile prepared for her, sleeping soundly amidst the bustling activities around her.”

Being exhausted from the hard life she has led for over 80 years, the first thing Somboon did after being taken to her new sanctuary was lay down and take some rest.

For the first time in 8 decades, she could sleep without chains on her ancles.

Her rescuers were scared that she wouldn’t be able to adjust, but she did.

Somboon surprises everyone with the progress she makes every single day.

For this poor elephant, life finally felt good again.

We are so glad there are rescue groups who give neglected and abused animals a new lease on life.

Calls for Lawrence Jones to be fired after one big mistake

Host and reporter Lawrence Jones, who’s been a staple on Fox News since 2018, triggered criticism by the general public.

Namely, Jones posted photos of himself alongside U.S. Border Protection agents wearing a bulletproof vest. “Coming up on Fox News live from the border,” he captioned the post.

What he probably didn’t expect was the avalanche of comments mocking him and asking him to be fired.

According to many, wearing a bulletproof west while standing on US soil and pretending to be at a war zone is unprofessional and unacceptable.

“Does ‘live from the border’ mean Party City?” Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, a congresswoman from New York, commented on Jones’ post.

“Fox is really out here doing the most on a budget to make the border look more dangerous than it is,” she added.

Lawrence Jones Wearing BulletProof Vest

Jacob Soboroff, a correspondent for MSNBC, dubbed Jones’ decision to wear a vest “totally ridiculous”.

“I have never once worn a bulletproof vest at the border, nor has [US Customs and Border Protection] ever asked me to – even while on a chase with Border Patrol to apprehend migrants in remote Arizona desert in the middle of the night,” he said.

“Because. The. Border. Is. Not. A. War. Zone.”

The Libertarian political commentator tried to defend himself saying that it was the agents who told him to put the vest on, just to make sure he stays safe.

There were also those who mocked the size of the vest, with writer Jessica Luther asking, ”what is this? A vest for ants?”

NBC News producer and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Mac William Bishop remarked, “I’ve previously criticized journos for playing dress-up in PPE. Last time it was someone who worked for MSNBC. This time it’s someone who works for Fox. Being a poseur with no respect for journalistic integrity and lacking common sense about how PPE works is a non-partisan flaw.”

Besides being criticized for the photos he shared, Jones also faced backlash for adding to Fox News’ portrayal of unrest, danger, and calls for stronger security.

“Need a good laugh? Check this out. Lawrence thinks he’s going to a war zone. Is this going to boost your speaking fees, Lawrence? Game recognizes game. #AllAboutTheBenjamins,” journalist Roland Martin tweeted, to which Jones responded, “border patrol made me wear it.” Martin further remarked, “Easy: You. Who would I trust regarding border issues: you or Republican @HurdOnTheHill, a former CIA operative whose district is affected? You’re just there for show. But go ahead and play TV. Carry on, Lawrence.”

The Moon is drifting from Earth – this is what it means for us

When the night falls, we get to see the Moon clearly, our planet’s natural satellite.

The Moon isn’t a source of light but reflects but reflects it from the son, acting like a mirror. What’s more important is that this beautiful satellite impacts the life on Earth.

Now, scientists discovered that the Moon is slowly inching away from Earth, around 1.5 inches or 3.82 centimeters a year, and it causes certain changes.

While the Earth’s gravity keeps the Moon in orbit, its own gravity pulls on our oceans, creating tides.

Getty Images

As Earth spins, it drags the ocean’s bulge slightly ahead of the Moon. That bulge pulls on the Moon, pushing it outward into a higher orbit. But the farther the Moon moves, the slower it travels.

Stephen Meyers, a professor of Geoscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, explains this phenomenon. “As the moon moves away, the Earth is like a spinning figure skater who slows down as they stretch their arms out,” he says.

1.4 billion years ago, when the Moon was at a closer proximity to Earth, a day on our planet lasted for around 18 hours.

Now, as the Moon inches away, it would again affect the duration of the days. However, these changes won’t happen right away.

In fact, at this point, the days on Earth are getting longer by about 1.7 milliseconds every 100 years.

Scientists calculate this thanks to the mirrors placed on the Moon through the Apollo mission.

“While 3.78cm may not seem like much, this small difference over a long enough period of time could affect life on Earth, making the planet slow down,” space scientist Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock told the BBC.

“On early Earth, when the Moon was newly formed, days were five hours long, but with the Moon’s braking effect operating on the Earth for the last 4.5bn years, days have slowed down to the 24 hours that we are familiar with now, and they will continue to slow down in the future.”

She explained how this is calculated, saying, “By looking at the daily growth bands of corals we can calculate the numbers of days that occurred per year in past periods, and from this we can see that days are getting longer, at a rate of 19 hours every 4.5bn years.

“The length of a day, or in other words the rotation speed of the planet, plays a big part in its stability.”

Dr Aderin-Pocock compared it to “a plate spinning on a stick,” and that the “key is to have the plate spinning fast, as if it slows down it crashes to the floor.”

She warned: “In a similar way, as the Earth’s rotation slows down, our whole planet may start to slowly wobble and this will have a devastating effect on our seasons.”

Scientists note that these changes can affect the animals the most because most of them are not adaptable thus “most animals would not be able to evolve quickly enough to hibernate or migrate out of harm’s way.”

Elon Musk shares a chilling warning: His revelations could put his life at risk

Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who serves as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency as part of Trump’s administration, has spoken out of the levels of corruption within the country.

Musk has appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience recently where he suggested that if he goes deep into the corruption in DC he would probably get assassinated.

“It’s more than just insider trading. The stock portfolio stuff is quite trackable, but it’s a lot more than insider trading,” said Musk.

“The way they’re acquiring wealth?” Rogan asked.

“Correct,” Musk replied after a short pause.

“And what other methods,” asked Rogan.

“I mean this is really gonna get me assassinated,” Musk replied. “It’s like, I’m not lengthening my lifespan by explaining this stuff, to say the least. I mean, I was supposed to go back to DC. How am I going to survive? This is f*****g going to kill me for sure,” Musk continued.

“In fact, I do think like this… it’s like, I actually have to be careful that I don’t push too hard on the corruption stuff because it’s going to get me killed.”

The Tesla owner then explained that a number of lawmakers and big names in politics, like former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, use their insider access to make profits that far outpace the general market, such as the S&P 500.

Musk revealed that during the last couple of years, he has received more death threats than ever before.

As the head of DOGE, Musk and his team have already made recommendations of $150 billion in cuts.

Further, the goal of DOGE is review inefficient and politically biased programs, including diversity efforts. While it can’t enforce these cuts, its suggestions could influence future policies. This comes as the House backs a plan for nearly $1 trillion in federal budget cuts, with Trump’s support.

Many believe that the claims Musk made on the podcast are not only bold but also dangerous.

His comments represent the current state of government and the larger issue – that of the existence of a system where lawmakers and politicians appear to profit personally while crafting policies that benefit themselves, raising serious concerns about ethics and the health of democracy.

Musk and Rogan also discussed the roles of the NGOs, which they believe serve as money printing organizations for the elite.

Obama slams Trump’s tariff plan with blunt eight-word comment

President Donald Trump and his administration have made decisions that sparked controversy not only in political circles but also among the general public.

Among the rest, many of the executive orders Trump signed since returning to the White House have been challenged by certain organizations that claim they contradict the laws.

Most recently, on what he dubbed a “Liberation Day,” Trump unveiled a broad new tariff plan.

As reported by VT, the president’s new policy imposes a universal 10% tariff on all imports, featuring major hikes for 60 countries labeled as “worst offenders.”

Andrew Harnik/Getty Images

In the speech he delivered from the White House Rose Garden, Trump proudly stated: “We’ve been waiting for a long time.

“April 2, 2025, will forever be remembered as the day American industry was reborn, the day America’s destiny was reclaimed, and the day that we began to ‘Make America Wealthy Again.'”

Further, he added: “For decades our country has been looted, pillaged, raped and plundered by nations, near and far, from both friend and foe alike.”

Among those who slammed Trump for the tariff plan was former President Barack Obama.

“I have deep differences of opinion with my most immediate successor — who’s now president once again,” Obama said at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York on Thursday.

Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images

“I don’t think what we just witnessed in terms of economic policy and tariffs is going to be good for America,” he added.

“When I watch some of what’s going on now, it does not — look, I don’t think what we just witnessed in terms of economic policy and tariffs is going to be good for America, but that’s a specific policy.

“I’m more deeply concerned with a federal government that threatens universities if they don’t give up students who are exercising their right to free speech,” the father-of-two continued.

“I am more troubled by the idea that a White House can say to law firms, ‘If you represent parties that we don’t like, we’re going to pull all our business or bar you from representing people effectively.’”

He wrapped his speech up with an eight-word remark that spoke volumes: “Imagine if I had done any of this?”

Trump believes that imposing tariffs would make Americans buy more domestic goods.

As expected, some of the countries affected announced tariffs on the U.S.

The tariffs will remain in effect until the president “determines the ‘threat posed by the trade deficit and underlying nonreciprocal treatment is satisfied, resolved, or mitigated,” the White House states.

14 fish you should avoid putting on your plate

Ever since we were little, our parents have always told us that fish is good for our health so we associate it with a healthy lifestyle. However, due to the human’s industrial activities, such as electricity generation from coal, smelting processes, and waste incineration, huge amounts of mercury end up in the waters.

Eventually, mercury accumulates in the fish we consume, posing a serious threat to our health.

A 2023 study by Environmental Working Group scientists suggests that “eating one freshwater fish equals a month of drinking ‘forever chemicals’ water.”

Forever chemicals, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), are man-made chemicals that remain in the soil and our bodies for a very long periods of time.

According to CBS, “The total PFAS level in the freshwater fish was 278 times higher than what has been found in commercially sold fish, the study said.”

The FDA, EPA, and EDF offer guidance on safe mercury levels and advise which fish you should avoid.

1. Tilapia

Tilapia is fish you should avoid putting on your plate because it contains very low levels of beneficial Omega-3 acids but has high levels of omega-6 fatty acids that lead to inflammations.

2. Atlantic Cod

Consuming this fish doesn’t have to do with your health, but it is advised to avoid consuming it because overfishing of it over the years has led to high risks of extinction.

3. Atlantic Flatfish (halibut, flounder, and sole)

Flatfish like halibut are on the “do not eat” list due to overfishing and pollution. A 2014 Oceana report found that U.S. fisheries discard around 2 billion pounds of bycatch yearly. The California gillnet fishery, a major source of U.S. halibut, was among the worst offenders.

4. Caviar

The high demand of caviar, despite its high price, places the beluga fish on the list of fish facing extinction.

5. Chilean Bass

Sea bass is fish high in mercury levels and needs to be avoided.

6. Eel

Eels are crucial for protecting water supplies and play important role in spreading mussel populations that serve as natural water filters but due to overfish their number is considerably lowered.

This places the eel on the list of fish to avoid consuming.

7. Imported Basa, Swai, Tra, Striped Catfish

A study published in the National Library of Medicine showed that a great number of these fish, around 80%, were contaminated by Vibrio Bacteria, commonly associate with eating undercooked seafood.

8. Imported Farmed Shrimp

Shrimp production is associated with using various pesticides forbidden in the United States (except for one). Also, these shrimps are often treated with antibiotics and handling them raw comes with the risk of attracting an antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

9. Imported King Crab

10. Orange Roughy

Orange Roughy’s slow reproduction and harmful fishing methods make it unsustainable, so try to avoid its consumption.

11. Shark

Although having shark meat sounds like a real delicacy, these predators’ meat is high in mercury.

12. Atlantic Bluefin Tuna

Being the main ingredient of sushi, a well-known delicacy loved by millions, the population of this fish has dropped significantly.

13. Swordfish

Due to the extremely high levels of mercury it contains, women and children are advised to avoid this fish altogether, according to the Environmental Defense Fund. Men are recommended to consume it not more than once per month.

14. King Mackerel

Just like a number of other fish on this list, King Mackerel contains high levels of mercury.

If you love fish and want it implemented in your diet, some species you may consider are wild-caught Alaskan salmon, Pacific Sardines, Atlantic mackerel, Albacore tuna caught in the US or Canada, Alaska Cod, Arctic Char, and Rainbow Trout, among the rest.

Father of teen accused in track meet killing speaks out

What started as an argument over a spot between two students ended in a tragedy when one of them was stubbed to death.

17-year-old Austin Metcalf died in the arms of his twin brother after peer Karmelo Anthony stabbed him on April 2 at an event at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas.

Following the tragedy, Anthony was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

Now, his father has spoken out of the tragedy and of his son, claiming despite what he did, he is “a good kid.”

“Everyone has already made their assumptions about my son, but he’s not what they’re making him out to be,” Anthony’s father, Andrew, told the New York Post. “He’s a good kid. He works two jobs. He’s an A student, has a 3.7 GPA,” the father of the teen accused of killing Metcalf added.

The dad also claimed that it wasn’t his son Karmelo Anthony who started the fight.

“He was not the aggressor. He was not the one who started it.

“I feel bad for the other parents and family, and words can’t explain how both [families] have been affected by this tragedy,” the father added.

Austin Metcalf’s devastated twin brother, Hunter, said he didn’t witness the act of stabbing, but he was the one who tried to stop his brother’s bleeding. Hunter described the entire tragedy as “senseless.”

“I don’t know why a person would do that to someone, just over that little argument,” he told ABC News.

“I tried to help him,” Hunter said of his brother.

The Frisco Independent School District commented on the tragedy, describing it as an “unprecedented situation.”

They also shared their condolences.

“Frisco ISD shares in the grief of everyone impacted by this heartbreaking loss, and we extend our deepest sympathies to the victim’s family, students, staff, and our community during this difficult time,” the district said.

Australian mother’s remarkable journey: 12-hour labor

Motherhood is a profound experience, one that changes a woman forever. It touches every aspect of her life and shapes her personal growth, her relationships, and even her outlook on life.

Nina Tassel’s journey into motherhood is a remarkable one.

This Australian woman fell pregnant at the age of 37.

From the beginning, everything seemed perfect with her pregnancy and she enjoyed every moment of it. However, her belly seemed to grow bigger than that of an average pregnant woman and many people stared at her on the street believing she was carrying multiple babies.

The big belly didn’t raise any red flags since all of the ultrasounds showed there was nothing wrong with her baby.

When Nina went into labor, there was no time to get to the hospital on time so medics came to her home to help her deliver her son.

The delivery wasn’t an easy one. In fact, it lasted 12 long hours during which Nina lost consciousness a couple of times. She endured pain and even cried.

And then, finally, her baby boy was welcomed into the world, stunning everyone.

The reason why this woman’s pregnancy has been exceptional is because she had given birth to a big baby boy that weighted 6 kilograms and was 61 centimeters long.

For a comparison, an average baby is around 51 centimeters.

Australian mom had given birth to a big baby boy that weighted 6 kilograms and was 61 centimeters long.

Doctors believe that one of the reasons why her son was born that big was her gestational diabetes diagnosis, a condition linked to excessive fetal growth.

Luckily, the baby was born healthy.

This story is just a reminder of the strength of mothers and what they are able to endure for their little ones.

Nina is happy she can finally hold her baby in her arms.

As expected, the story of her son made headlines, with many congratulating her on her courage and the new addition to the family.

Plus-size influencer says airlines should accommodate people like her

Are airline companies doing enough to accommodate curvier passengers and ensure their comfort during flights? According to plus-size influencer Emily Jones, the answer to this question is a resounding “no.”

Jones, who frequently travels between Malta, the UK, and Finland, believes the travel industry, as well as the hotels from around the world, should impose changes that would better suit the needs of oversize travelers.

This influencer shares her journeys on her Instagram account, @miss__jones, encouraging plus-size people to get out of their comfort zone and explore the world.

“I want to promote easy travel for people of all sizes and shapes – and make them feel they deserve to see the world just like other people,” she says.

One of the changes she believes airplanes should do in order to better serve larger individuals by creating a a safe and welcoming space for them, is to make extend the length of seatbelts.

“Seeing this being destigmatized, so people can travel comfortably and without the added anxiety, would be a dream come true,” she posted on the social media.

Jones also advocates for more spacious seating options, or at least additional cushioning and adjustable armrests.

When it comes to accommodation, Jones wants hotels to provide large towels and bathrobes in order to create a welcoming feeling to plus-size guests.

As she’s sharing her journeys with her followers, Jones says that the situation regarding larger individuals is indeed changing for the better as more and more hotels offer conditions that make these individuals feel included.

Based on her own personal experience, one of the best places that offer warm and welcoming environment for plus-size tourists are the Seychelles in Africa.

Kamala Harris shares a candid message for Trump supporters as she breaks her silence after months

Kamala Harris has broken her months-long silence, and according to many, she said exactly what most of us are thinking.

Harris, who lost the presidential elections to Donald Trump, spoke of the feeling of fear sweeping across the United States under the current president’s renewed leadership.

In a speech at Leading Women Defined Summit in California on April 3, Harris indirectly touched the subject of the tariffs Trump imposed on nations worldwide as well as his many actions and the signings of executive orders, most of which contradict with the law. In fact, her words referred to the situation that he created with his actions.

Juliana Yamada / Los Angeles Times / Getty

“When one person, when a few stand with the courage, that is the courage exhibited by the leaders in this room every day.

“To have the courage to say I feel fear, the courage to say what is happening is wrong, the courage to say that there is a way that we must chart to get through this.

“Understanding our power in the democracy that we still have if we hold on to it.

“Courage is contagious.”

She went on to say, “These are the things we’re witnessing day after day in recent months. And yes — it creates fear. Because many of the things we’re seeing… we knew were coming. I’m not here to say, ‘I told you so.’”

Kamala Harris added that people, as well as organizations, are staying quiet, and that “we are seeing capitulating to clearly unconstitutional threats.”

Representative Jamie Raskin backed up Harris’ opinion during an interview with Jen Psaki on MSNBC. Just like the former vice-president, Raskin believes the Democrats have been wrongly accused of not being vocal enough.

“People kept asking, ‘Where’s the Democratic leadership?’” Raskin said. “But the reality is, it takes time to absorb the full impact of what’s happening. We’re dealing with an all-out attempt at authoritarian control, the purging of federal workers — attacks on every front.”

He added that the Democrats are standing their ground. “Now, everyone is in a fighting mood.”

REUTERS via NewYork Post

Following her loss of the elections, Harris has kept a low profile, but she’s now again stepping into the spotlight.

According to The Grio, she’s considering running for California governor in 2026.

Incredible moment brave 13-year-old saves bus full of students after driver passes out

Not all heroes wear capes. Sometimes, they come in the form of a 13-year-old whose quick thinking saved the lives of students on a school bus after the driver lost consciousness.

The day started as any other for teenager Dillon Reeves from Michigan, but it soon turned into an ordeal.

Namely, while at the school bus, Dillon noticed the vehicle “swerving” and got worried. Trying to make sure everything was fine, he checked on the driver and realized her head had dropped and her eyes were closed. What’s most, her foot wasn’t on the pedals and she wasn’t holding the steering wheel.

“It just didn’t seem right,” Dillon said.

Becoming aware of the danger and the possibility of the bus going over a curb, he took matters into his own hands. Bravely, he grabbed the steering wheel and prevented it from hitting into a car by turning it around.

WXYZ

Dillon managed to press the breaks of school bus No. 46, bringing it to a stop. Inside the bus, there were 60 students whom he brought to safety.

Once the bus was not moving, he instructed his friends to call 911.

Luckily, no one was injured, and the footage of the bus showed the students screaming in panic and fearing for their safety and their lives.

Paramedics took the bus driver to the hospital, and she later went home. They reported she was doing well

After the incident, the driver reached out to Dillon’s stepmother, Ireta Reeves, thanking Dillon for his bravery.

“I’m so thankful Dillon was on the bus that day,” she began.

“His swift actions saved lives and property and he deserves all the attention for his bravery. He was asking a few months back about being a bus driver, how old did you have to be and if it was hard,” the message continued.

“He thought he might want to be a bus driver one day. It’s a great job. I love it. But I hope Dillon can see his potential to be so much more.”

Facbeook/Ireta Reeves

Dillon’s dad said he was extremely proud of his son.

“This is overwhelming for all of us […] He is very attentive to his surroundings.”

The entire community dubbed him a real life hero, but Dillon says he didn’t think he did much, all he did was stop the school bus.

What a humble young man.
