Woman Puts Dad With Alzheimer’s On A One-Way Flight To Denver Claiming She’s ‘Done With Him’

Our parents are our strength. They do everything in their power to provide us with a nice life and a bright future. They would do anything for our happiness and our well-being so that when they get old and unable to take care of themselves we pay the favor back and make sure they age with dignity. Unfortunately, we witness how hundreds of elderly people end up under the wing of the hospitals which are obliged to take them in when they have no place to stay. The latest story we’ve heard broke our hearts. We simply can’t understand how people became so cruel and self-centered without feeling the urge to show love and consideration towards other humans, including their own parents. Jerry Ellingsen, an 80-year-old man who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease was noticed wandering the Denver airport, unaware of why he was there, or where he was heading to. He was totally confused and unable to answer any of the questions the police asked him. His condition was so severe that he couldn’t even remember any of his family members or relatives. The police later learned that he lived with his brother and nephew in Southwest Florida who couldn’t take care of him any longer and decided to send him to his daughter Pamela’s place. However, she wasn’t happy with the idea and refused to take him in. She though he should stay with his estranged wife and put her own father on a one-way flight to Denver saying how she was “done with him.” A text was sent to his wife, stating:
“My dad and Corky [the dog] will arrive on a flight in Denver tomorrow afternoon.”
The police eventually contacted both Pamela and Jerry’s ex wife but neither wanted to have anything with him so he ended up at a hospital. Knowing how many people share Jerry’s faith makes our hearts sink.
“At the end of the day, this is our loved ones that we are talking about,”
said Doug Muir, who oversees behavior health at Porter Adventist Hospital where Jerry was admitted.
“So, as a society and community, we need to demand better outcomes.”

Firemen Battled California Wildfire, And Spots Celebrity Guy Fieri With A Tent

After a day’s worth of work, the firemen saw someone they would least expect to be there!

California is no stranger to one notorious natural disaster; wildfires. One such wildfire incident has even displaced families, destroyed many properties and caused great devastating losses amongst the locals. It was the largest fire to sweep across California, and it was nicknamed ‘The Camp Fire’. The fires have even demolished an entire town, earning itself a reputation as the most destructive fire ever to occur in the Californian state. Dozens of people have already perished in the fires, while hundreds still remain missing. It has been a bout of incredibly tough work to battle the fires, leaving many emergency workers exhausted and worn out. Many generous local volunteers have donated water for the workers helped their own families last to save others, as they were risking their lives while doing so. Several celebrities have also lost their homes in the fire as well. But one celebrity has personally went down to help the firefighters and other emergency personnel in only one way he could – and he did it the best. It was well-known restaurateur and Food Network star Guy Fieri. He whipped up some mouth-watering, tasty and energy-replenishing food for many hungry people. The menu included dishes such as pulled pork – it was even served to helpers at the law enforcement staging area in Butte College! Guy Fieri was no stranger to charity, it seems – and boy were people pleasantly surprised! This past summer, Guy also teamed up with chef Jose Andreas to help feed evacuees and emergency crews located in Redding, California during the Carr Fires. A longtime resident of Santa Rosa, California, Guy could not bear to see states of devastation repeatedly blanketing his homeland. The Auburn Police Department gave a special shout out to Guy as they were extremely grateful for his generosity and aid. One woman was offended by what a random stranger dared to ask her so she decided to call her husband to step in and help, but what happened at the end is something she didn’t see coming. It’s hilarious! A woman is at home when she hears someone knocking at her door. She goes to the door opens it and sees a man standing there. He asks the lady, “Do you have a Vagina?” She slams the door in disgust. The next morning she hears a knock at the door, it’s the same man and he asks the same question to the woman, “Do you have a Vagina?” She slams the door again. Later that night when her husband gets home she tell him what has happened fora the last two days. The husband tells his wife in a loving and concerned voice, “Honey, I am taking a day off tomorrow so I can be home, just in case this guy shows up again.” The next morning they hear a knock at the door and both ran for the door. The husband whispers to the wife, “Honey, I’m going to hide behind the door and listen and if it is the same guy I want you to answer yes to the question because I want to a see where he’s going with this.” She nods yes to her husband and opens the door. Sure enough the same fellow is standing there, he asks, “Do you have a Vagina?” “Yes I do.” says the lady. Daughter films sick father’s hospice nurse and exposes her unconventional but amazing ‘treatment’

Although doctors are the ones who admit patients at the hospital, diagnose the health issue, prescribe appropriate medications and treatments, do surgeries, and many more, they wouldn’t be able to do any of these without the assistance of the nurses. At the end of the day, nurses are the ones who stay by the patient’s side, make sure they take their meds in a timely manner, and are the first to know if the patient’s condition has changed. They are caring, devoted, and supportive.

Nurse Brenda Buurstra works at the Bronson Hospital, Michigan, and she is one of the most compassionate people who would do anything to see her patients happy. She makes sure to remind them every now and then that things are going to be just fine.

Robert Olson on the other hand is one of Brenda’s patients. He is an elderly man who was admitted to hospital due to breathing difficulties. What is special about Robert is that he is a very hardworking man who retired at the age of 85, but now feels that his health is declining so he ended up at the hospital. His daughter Roberta Lytle even told WWMT:
“We did not think he was coming home this time.”

Due to his age, Robert couldn’t be operated on, so he was placed in hospice care under the wings of nurse Brenda. As this loving lady walked into the room of her new patient she could see him and his daughter watching a show about Pat Boone. She though it was a great way of bonding so she joined in the conversation and learned how Robert really liked one of the song’s Pat Boone’s daughter sang. Nurse Brenda didn’t think twice before she started singing part of it.
“I’m just blown away because the woman’s got a voice.”
It was awesome how the man was so delighted by the nurse’s action that he tried to join the lines besides his severe health condition.

The next day, Nurse Brenda came into the room holding a sheet of paper with the lyrics of the song “You Light Up My Life” and left Robert and his daughter simply stunned. They couldn’t believe how caring she is.
“Even through his little venting mask he was wearing, his eyes lit up. His whole countenance changed, and he had a big smile. You could tell that song lit him up. Literally ‘You Light Up My Life,’ that song really just lit him up. You could tell it touched his heart.”
Roberta though it was the cutest thing ever seeing the nurse singing to her patient so she took a video of the lovely sight.

Although the family believed Robert wouldn’t make it this time, what Brenda did gave him the strength to recover and soon after he was discharged from hospice.

“I have sung to patients for 14 years, and this is just the first time I got caught … To make that awful hospital stay they’re going through just a little bit better, a little bit brighter. I wanted to be on a team of positive people, and that’s what we have here at Bronson. I’m not the only nurse who goes above and beyond at Bronson. This is what we do every day.”
Once she uploaded the video on YouTube, many people praised Nurse Brenda for what she did, saying she is one of a kind.

Child D-ies Waiting For Heart Transplant, But Her Death Sends Powerful Message That’s Gone Viral

No parent should ever experience the pain of losing a child. That grief doesn’t compare to any other and unfortunately never fades away. There are many people out there who are left heartbroken with the news that their children suffer from certain condition or disease and fighting the battle against those illnesses can be hard and exhausting, but as long as parents knows there is hope for their child to recover, they will never give up.

One expectant mother heard what every parent fears of – that their daughter who was about to be welcomed into the world will be born with Congenital Heart Disease. That turned their world upside down, but Suha and her husband were ready to fight for their daughter’s life with all their strength.

Thankfully, God wanted the little baby girl to come out from the battle against her condition as a winner. Now Suha feels the need to give other mothers who are sadly going through what she had to endure the support and the words of comfort they desperately need.

“After five and a half months of waiting, we received the call. They found a perfect match, a whole, four ventricle heart, her lifesaving gift, a new chance at life,” Suha writes to Love What Matters. “After nearly six months of waiting and praying, we were able to bring Nadia home again. This is why I became a photographer.”

Suha who is not only a mom of a little fighter, but a photographer as well, says she does all this because she knows how it feels like to see your child suffering without being able to help. She takes photos of the families and says:
“I wanted other families to have portraits they could hold on to and cherish forever,”

Suha’s job is rewarding, but at the same time it is something that reminds her of her daughter’s condition. She says that roughly 1 in 100 babies are born with a congenital heart defect every year. Luckily, many of these newborns manage to overcome the condition thanks to modern medicine and organ donors, but sadly, many of them pass away.

One of the devastating losses she witnessed was that of a child who suffered from CHD and unfortunately didn’t survive. Her parents Kristi and Justin could see their baby daughter taking her last breath in front of their eyes. This made Suha raise her voice in order to raise awareness about CHD along with the powerful message:

“I could tell you that Adalynn is one of the 20 people that die every day waiting for a transplant. Or, I could tell you about my perspective of what it was like being in that room to document their last moments together as a family of six. But there aren’t any words to describe the pain and love I witnessed.”

Little children can be amazingly hilarious. They are brutally honest and don’t really care if you get offended by their opinion. They always speak their mind and many times come with witty comebacks that leave us adults speechless. Below are some of the best responses of kids that will put a smile on your face and will remind you why we love them so much. 1. A kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She walked around to look at the artwork. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, “I’m drawing a picture of God.” The teacher paused and said, “But no one knows what God looks like. Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the girl replied, “They will in a minute.” 2. A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, ‘When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah.’ The teacher asked, ‘What if Jonah went to hell?’ The little girl replied, ‘Then you ask him.’ 3. A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five- and six-year-olds. Dad of 4 struggles to pay grocery bill at Walmart, looks up and sees cop running towards him

Not everyone is courageous enough to step in when someone is in trouble, nor compassionate enough to lend a helping hand to those in need. But those who do are very special people who make the world a better and a safer place, and make our life shine a little brighter. Mike Kelley is one of those people. Besides working as a police officer, he is also a security officer at Walmart, which means he is fighting crime around the clock. Recently, this man’s generosity was noticed by a customer who believed what he did was worth sharing.

Although he had his hands full making sure everything ran smoothly with all those people coming in and out of the store, he took notice of a sight he couldn’t ignore. A father who was accompanied by his four children was struggling to pay the grocery bill. Officer Mike could sense a discomfort in the man’s behavior and didn’t hesitate to take action. For an interview for WRCB-TV, officer Mike said how he felt God told him not to let that man and his girls leave the store without what was in their shopping cart.
“I just felt God telling me, saying, ‘Just go help him.’ [I’m] getting extra money to be there and I’m just like, are these people going to go hungry when I’m just sitting here making a little extra money for myself? … I’m looking down at the little girl, and the little girls looking up to her dad, and I look in the [shopping cart.] It’s just Ramen noodles. I don’t know if it’s a financial thing, or if the card just didn’t work.”

And as no good deed goes unnoticed, officer Mike’s act of kindness was witnessed by Jermaine Bowe who happened to be waiting in the queue and was able to see the whole thing. Mike approached the man and offered to pay the bill. Bowe was so touched by what the officer did that he posted it on Facebook in hopes of identifying the generous man who got back to his usual job routine after paying $80 for a random stranger.
“Just witnessed another extraordinary act by our men and women in uniform. A police officer paid for the groceries of a customer here at Walmart. The best part, the customer told the police officer ‘God bless you,’ and the police officer responded, ‘I am already blessed.’ I love it.”
Once everyone learned Mike’s name, this Cleveland officer was considered a hero, but he is so humble that he says how he only did what he though was the right thing to do. He told WRCB-TV:
“Look for somebody to help there’s someone around all the time to help maybe just food but maybe something else maybe just go up and talk to them.”

This has to be the best definition of life you’ve ever stumbled upon. It perfectly depicts all the phases of existence we go through. It may also make you laugh once you realize how accurate it is. On the first day God created the dog. God said, “Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years.” The dog said, “That’s too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten.” So God agreed. On the second day God created the monkey. God said, “Entertain people, do monkey tricks and make them laugh. I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.” The monkey said, “Monkey tricks for twenty years? I don’t think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that’s what I’ll do too, okay?” And God agreed. On the third day God created the cow. “You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves, and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years.” The cow said, “That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years.
