Gang Members Attack and Humiliate a Veteran – His Reaction Leaves Them in Awe

Many times during our lifetime, we come across people that hurt our feelings and treat us with disrespect. The thing is that these kinds of individuals will always be there, but it’s up to us to decide how we will handle that situation. Will we answer back with rage and disrespect, or will we show kindness instead? If you ever wonder what the right thing to do would be, please read the following story. Carl was a quiet man. He didn’t talk much. He would always greet you with a big smile and a firm handshake. Even after living in our neighborhood for over 50 years, no one could really say they knew him very well. Before his retirement, he took the bus to work each morning. The lone sight of him walking down the street often worried us. He had a slight limp from a bullet wound received in WWII. Watching him, we worried that although he had survived WWII, he may not make it through our changing uptown neighborhood with its ever-increasing random violence, gangs, and drug activity. When he saw the flyer at our local church asking for volunteers for caring for the gardens behind the minister’s residence, he responded in his characteristically unassuming manner. Without fanfare, he just signed up. He was well into his 87th year when the very thing we had always feared finally happened. He was just finishing his watering for the day when three gang members approached him. Ignoring their attempt to intimidate him, he simply asked, “Would you like a drink from the hose?” The tallest and toughest-looking of the three said, “Yeah, sure,” with a malevolent little smile. As Carl offered the hose to him, the other two grabbed Carl’s arm, throwing him down. As the hose snaked crazily over the ground, dousing everything in its way, Carl’s assailants stole his retirement watch and his wallet, and then fled. Carl tried to get himself up, but he had been thrown down on his bad leg. He lay there trying to gather himself as the minister came running to help him. Although the minister had witnessed the attack from his window, he couldn’t get there fast enough to stop it. “Carl, are you okay? Are you hurt?” the minister kept asking as he helped Carl to his feet. Carl just passed a hand over his brow and sighed, shaking his head, “Just some punk kids!” I hope they’ll wise-up someday.” His wet clothes clung to his slight frame as he bent to pick up the hose. He adjusted the nozzle again and started to water. Confused and a little concerned, the minister asked, “Carl, what are you doing?” “I’ve got to finish my watering. It’s been very dry lately,” came his calm reply. Satisfying himself that Carl really was all right, the minister could only marvel. Carl was a man from a different time and place. A few weeks later the three returned. Just as before their threat was unchallenged. Carl again offered them a drink from his hose. This time they didn’t rob him. They wrenched the hose from his hand and drenched him head to foot in the icy water. When they had finished their humiliation of him, they sauntered off down the street, throwing catcalls and curses, falling over one another laughing at the hilarity of what they had just done. Carl just watched them. Then he turned toward the warmth giving sun, picked up his hose, and went on with his watering. The summer was quickly fading into fall Carl was doing some tilling when he was startled by the sudden approach of someone behind him. He stumbled and fell into some evergreen branches. As he struggled to regain his footing, he turned to see the tall leader of his summer tormentors reaching down for him. He braced himself for the expected attack. “Don’t worry old man, I’m not gonna hurt you this time.” The young man spoke softly, still offering the tattooed and scarred hand to Carl. As he helped Carl get up, the man pulled a crumpled bag from his pocket and handed it to Carl. “What’s this?” Carl asked. “It’s your stuff,” the man explained. “It’s your stuff back, even the money in your wallet.” “I don’t understand,” Carl said. “Why would you help me now?” The man shifted his feet, seeming embarrassed and ill at ease. “I learned something from you,” he said. “I ran with that gang and hurt people like you. We picked you because you were old and we knew we could do it. But every time we came and did something to you, instead of yelling and fighting back, you tried to give us a drink. You didn’t hate us for hating you. You kept showing love against our hate.” He stopped for a moment. “I couldn’t sleep after we stole your stuff, so here it is back.” He paused for another awkward moment, not knowing what more there was to say. “That bag’s my way of saying thanks for straightening me out, I guess.” And with that, he walked off down the street. Carl looked down at the sack in his hands and gingerly opened it. He took out his retirement watch and put it back on his wrist. Opening his wallet, he checked for his wedding photo. He gazed for a moment at the young bride that still smiled back at him from all those years ago. He died one cold day after Christmas that winter. Many people attended his funeral in spite of the weather. In particular the minister noticed a tall young man that he didn’t know sitting quietly in a distant corner of the church. The minister spoke of Carl’s garden as a lesson in life. In a voice made thick with unshed tears, he said, “Do your best and make your garden as beautiful as you can. We will never forget Carl and his garden.” The following spring another flyer went up. It read: “Person needed to care for Carl’s garden.” The flyer went unnoticed by the busy parishioners until one day when a knock was heard at the minister’s office door. Opening the door, the minister saw a pair of scarred and tattooed hands holding the flyer. “I believe this is my job, if you’ll have me,” the young man said. The minister recognized him as the same young man who had returned the stolen watch and wallet to Carl. He knew that Carl’s kindness had turned this man’s life around. As the minister handed him the keys to the garden shed, he said, “Yes, go take care of Carl’s garden and honor him.” The man went to work and, over the next several years, he tended the flowers and vegetables just as Carl had done. During that time, he went to college, got married, and became a prominent member of the community. But he never forgot his promise to Carl’s memory and kept the garden as beautiful as he thought Carl would have kept it. One day he approached the new minister and told him that he couldn’t care for the garden any longer. He explained with a shy and happy smile, “My wife just had a baby boy last night, and she’s bringing him home on Saturday.” “Well, congratulations!” said the minister, as he was handed the garden shed keys. “That’s wonderful! What’s the baby’s name?” “Carl,” he replied. That’s the gospel of forgiveness in Jesus shining from one man’s heart to another. “Let your light shine before men that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16).

Daughter Regrets Losing Patience With Her Old Mom During Shopping

When we are younger, especially during our teenage years, we tend to get into conflict with our moms. That’s because we believe we know everything and refuse to accept their advice on how life really works. Later on, however, we realize that no other person in this world is able to give us so much love and unconditional support the way our moms do. We also realize that we should never argue with them ever again but cherish their presence in our life as much as we can. A few years ago, when my mother was, visiting, she asked me to go shopping with her because she needed a new dress. I don’t normally like to go shopping with other people, and I’m not a patient person, but we set off for the mall together nonetheless. We visited nearly every store that carried ladies’ dresses, and my mother tried on dress after dress, rejecting then all. As the day wore on, I grew weary and my mother grew frustrated. Finally, at our last stop, my mother tried on a lovely blue three-piece dress. The blouse had a bow at the neckline, and as I stood in the dressing room with her, I watched as she tried, with much difficulty, to tie the bow. Her hands were so badly crippled from arthritis that she couldn’t do it. Immediately, my impatience gave way to an overwhelming wave of compassion for her. I turned away to try and hide the tears that welled up involuntarily. Regaining my composure, I turned back to tie the bow for her. The dress was beautiful, and she bought it. Our shopping trip was over, but the event was etched indelibly in my memory. For the rest of the day, my mind kept returning to that moment in the dressing room and to the vision of my mother’s hands trying to tie that bow. Those loving hands that had fed me, bathed me, dressed me, caressed and comforted me, and, most of all, prayed for me, were now touching me in the most remarkable manner. Later in the evening, I went to my mother’s room, took her hands in mine, kissed them and, much to her surprise, told her that to me they were the most beautiful hands in the world. I’m so grateful that God let me see with new eyes what a precious, priceless gift a loving, self-sacrificing mother is. I can only pray that some day my hands, and my heart, will have earned such a beauty of their own.

Everyone Walked Past This Elderly Lady Who Slipped While Carrying Groceries

One of the best actors of all time, late Robin Williams, once said, “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.” Now imagine what would have happened if we all lived by these wise words. Here is the answer. The world would be a better place and no person will ever experience the pain of being treated with disrespect. The following story was shared by a man who witnessed one of the saddest sights ever, that of a helpless and vulnerable elderly lady who was in need of a helping hand but none of the passersby was willing to give it to her. It reminds us that no matter how tiny the good deeds we do for others may seem to us, they can mean the world to someone. It goes like this: While living in Chicago, I was walking down 63rd St. It was a cold, blustery day. On the opposite side of the street, I noticed a little old lady struggling with two large bags of groceries. All of a sudden, she slipped and fell on a patch of ice. No one seemed to notice, didn’t care, or just simply ignored the lady in her plight. In fact, they either stepped over her, or went around her. No pone stopped to ask if she was hurt or tried to help her. I watched for a minute or two to see what would happen. Nobody offered any assistance at all! Even though I knew I was going to be late for work, I ran across the street to see if I could help her. She was crying and had a large cut on her leg. I helped her up, gathered her spilled groceries, and walked her home. She only lived about a block or two away. But those blocks in the city are long! They don’t call them city blocks for nothing! Anyway, when we arrived at her house, she invited me in for coffee. I didn’t have the heart to say no because she looked so lonely. I fixed up her leg, and then we had coffee. She told me some remarkable stories and shared pictures. Thus began a warm and lasting friendship. I went to visit with her once a week after that. She looked forward to my weekly visits, and always had coffee and sweets, as she called them. We were good friends for several years until she passed away. She was 78. I miss you Hannah. RIP. Sleep with the angels.

Customer Overhears a Rich Woman Going Off on a Kid for a Cake Mix. When the Kid Starts Crying He Plots a Revenge

Some people are so full of themselves that they feel like they own the world and everyone around them is worthless. Luckily, there are also these other kinds of people who wouldn’t put up with someone hurting and humiliating others.

Well, this is a story of a man who stood up for one young employee without the kid even knowing that. And, he confessed it felt good to teach the rude person a lesson.

I was at the grocery store yesterday getting some stuff for this weekend when I stumbled upon something that really ticked me off. I’m just hanging out, minding my own business looking for stuff on the list my wife made me, when I heard something in the next aisle. Sounded like an argument. I’m a curious guy, so I skiddoodled on over to see what was going on. Some middle-aged soccer mom looking bitch was absolutely tearing into this cherub-faced kid about them not carrying the type of cake mix she wanted. “This is ridiculous! What kind of place is this! I need that cake mix! Get your ass to the backroom and look for it again! I’m having a party tomorrow and have to have it!” The poor guy looked shell-shocked. If he was anything over 16 years old, I would be so surprised. But I’ll give it to him, he handled it pretty well. “I’m sorry ma’am … we don’t have any. I already looked … we have the store brand, though … it’s basically the same stuff… I’d be happy to get some of that for you?” he replied. Good on you, young store employee.

“NO. I DON’T WANT OFF-BRAND. YOU ARE A LOSER! GET ME YOUR MANAGER.”

Cake bitch was losing her shit. I know cake is awesome, but com’on lady, you’re being a big ol’ turd. The kid’s manager comes out, chats with the lady who continues to freak out, but eventually gets her just to take the store-brand cake mix. He and his employee walk past me, I noticed that the kid was in tears. I was feeling a little bit feisty yesterday. I can be a bastard-coated-bastard with bastard filling sometimes, but I absolutely hate it when people are rude to store employees/waiters/people they think are ‘beneath them.’ Really, really pisses me off. That bitch wasn’t getting away with it. I stalked her through the store, never getting too close to set off alarm. She moved from aisle to aisle getting more things for her impending bitch-festival, not knowing that a predator was about to strike. She got some pretty delicious looking things, I might add…but I wasn’t after those. I had my target. I was going to take that fuc**ng cake mix. I knew exactly where it was in her cart. Her cart was getting pretty full so I decided to move in for the kill. The petty-revenge gods were on my side because somehow the cake mix wasn’t covered by anything. She turned her back on her cart and bent down to get something off the bottom shelf. I rushed in, very nonchalantly snagged the cake mix out of her cart, and moved on. Of course I had to watch to make sure she checked out. In fact, I made sure I was right behind her. She didn’t notice a thing. For how big of a deal that damn cake mix was to her, I was surprised how little attention she payed to what she put on the conveyor belt. I smiled all night thinking about how she got home, unloaded all of her groceries, but couldn’t find the cake mix. She probably went back out to her car, looked around, maybe under the seats … but guess what lady, it’s not there. That cake mix deserved better than her. I bought it. It was confetti cake mix. It might have been for a kids party for all I know, but I don’t care. I made it when I got home and it was fuc**ing delicious. Store brands are great. Please share this story with your friends and family Peace and Love

Mom leaves her baby with a teenager for a few minutes: seconds later she gets a picture and breaks down

Since the dawn of time teens have been babysitters, for some girls it’s a great way to earn some cash and easy money. These days though babysitting has become a different animal, there are so many regulations and rules to follow, it’s very different!

Us parents leave our children in the care of someone and that takes quite a bit of trust from the very beginning. We wouldn’t just leave them with anyone, mom’s want sitters with experience! One mom, Claudia Sorhaindo, really thought she had been sensible asking her teenage niece to babysit her 2-month-old daughter. Later she realized that when she received a text from her niece, that not everyone follows the rules of childcare all the time! Finding a babysitter at the last minute is really hard, almost impossible, so sometimes family members are the only choice, but always the right person for the job at hand… Claudia needed to do some errands, so on the last minute she enlisted the help of her niece, 15-years-old, she is one of 17 grand-kids so has plenty of experience! On Facebook, Claudia said:

“So I had to run out the house for a quick min, so I asked my niece to babysit Baby Ava. A few mins later I received a text saying that J’Ann wanted to make a sandwich but didn’t want to let baby Ava out of her sight.”

Some kids for some sitters, even experienced sitter are quite a handful, but especially when you don’t have a spare hand to hold baby, make sandwiches and talk on the phone! So what do you do? Well as the expression goes ‘mother of invention’ is, you guessed it, ‘necessity’ which gave birth to the most amazing and funny solution you will ever see, J’ann’s creativity strikes! Mom, Claudia said:

“Lord sends help, this was her solution…like really…creativity at its finest.”

Just look at the two of them, so cute and adorable. The cute little one tucked up safe and sound in her aunties kangaroo pouch! Her tiny little feet are poking out, leg to leg, what a great fit they are! But as funny and silly as it might seem, there is a deeper story, in 2011 Claudia’s 3-month-old little girl, called Jenelle, sadly died. So mom is naturally quite protective of her little girl and it was really lovely to see her little girl so close and well looked after!

The very clever and smart teen really needs an award for ingenuity, or at least resourcefulness, after all, it does take real skill and natural talent to do it! The Photos that Claudia posted on Facebook are shared over 6,800 times! If you love this story like we do, please SHARE with friends and family!

Little Boy Tells His Mom Why Dad Divorced Her

Little kids can be awesome. What I love about them is that they always speak their mind. Well, sometimes even more than they’re allowed to or supposed to. And although their actions can drive us mad, we do realize their intentions are always innocent and pure. Take this kid for example. He was able to discover so much about his mom from her drivers licence, even why his dad divorced her. Wanna know how? Read the hilarious conversation below. The kid says, “But I learned so much about you from it.” She says, “Well, ok, what did you learn about me?” “Well, says the kid… “I know your age now.” “And what is that?” Says his mother? “You’re old,” says the kid. “And I learned your height.” “Which is?’ says the mother. “You’re really tall,” he says. “Well, yes, I am tall for a woman.” “And, I learned your weight,” he says. “And what is that?” asks the mother. “A lot for a woman your height” the kids says. The mother sighs and says “well, that’s not nice, but I can’t argue that” “And,” the kid says “I know why dad divorced you.” “Huh? What?” says the mother. “How on earth did you get that from a drivers license?” “Because, you got an f in sex.” If this made you laugh, share it with your friends.

Cleaning Company Is Donating Thousands of Toilet Paper Rolls to the Elderly and the Disabled Who Can’t Get Supplies

The coronavirus outbreak that has been labeled a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) left millions in fear for their life. And as the situation is getting more severe with each passing day, people are panic buying supplies.

Sadly, that leaves the markets’ shelves empty and many people are left empty handed, especially the elderly.

One of the products people stock-pile the most is the toilet paper and that leads to shortage of the product. So, a cleaning company has announced they will supply elderly people with thousands of toilet rolls during the pandemic.

The radio station Fox FM asked from companies to step in, and that’s when Dexter Gordon, 32, decided to take his part in helping the disabled and the elderly people get as many rolls as they need.

“I heard the presenters were looking for companies to donate to people who are struggling, so I sent them my remaining stock,” he told Daily Mail Australia.

Radio presenters Fifi Box and Byron Cook were thankful their plea was heard and thanked Dexter’s Cleaning for their generous donation through Instagram where they wrote: “Look at the toilet rolls! Thanks so much Dexter’s Cleaning.”

The company announced their donations on that same social media. “We decided to get rid of ALL of our current toilet paper supply and give it to the elderly and vulnerable in our community. Thank you to @fifi_box and @fififevbyron for the initiative and getting these care packs to people who need it most. We have a NEW order arriving tomorrow and we kindly ask you to consider purchasing for the same sorts of people in your family or community. So if there are any pensioners who may find it hard to go to the store and you can purchase on behalf of them, we would be most grateful. Link to order in our Instagram bio (Melb metro delivery only, for the moment). #HonourSystem #InItTogether”.

Mr. Gordon added: “I’m getting another order in tomorrow and as a result started an online store so that people can help look after those around them.”

Listeners can nominate people who are in great need of products during these rough times through the radio’s website.

Other companies have undertaken efforts to ease the approach to products to the most vulnerable community members. Woolworths, for example, is doing this for the disabled and the elderly shoppers and lets them purchase essentials one hour before the store opens for other customers.

Additionally, because they don’t want some people to just stock pile while others don’t get the chance to buy even a single thing, many stores including Aldi are limiting the purchase of some products to one. At the time, this chain of supermarkets, along with Woolworths and Coles, have imposed a one-pack per shopper restriction on essentials such as toilet rolls, flour, rice, tissues, and hand sanitizer.

Middle-Aged School Principal Joins Dance Team – Then Completely Steals the Show

When we hear the word school principal most of us think of a strict person who never laughs.

Yes, I know this profession is in the group of vocations that we stereotype, but this incredible story is here to change the way we perceive these people who are in charge of the educational institutions.

One particular school principal, Dr. Reynolds, is a kind of person who loves being around the kids. In fact, she is always there for them and doesn’t mind going an extra mile when it comes to offering her support and help. And this time, it wasn’t any different.

Namely, the Lake Mary High School has a step team and the whole school is proud of them. And now, as some of you may assume already, this daring principal decided to join in one of their routines.

When the team first heard that Dr. Reynolds wanted to take part in one of their performances, they thought she was just messing with them, but once they realized she meant it for real, they were all looking forward to the outcome and were happy to have her in.

What’s more, the whole team knew the rest of the students at the school would be pleasantly surprised.

So, Dr. Reynolds practiced with the step team in secrecy. And even after the word that she will be dancing during the half time of the basketball match spread among the students, most were convinced it was just a rumor.

On the day of the match, students were wondering whether their favorite principal will appear at the court, but once the team started their routine and Dr. Reynolds was nowhere to be seen, everyone knew she wasn’t really dancing that day. But were they right?

In the middle of the half-time, as the team members were rearranging for a new choreography, Dr. Reynolds walked onto the court wearing the team’s outfit and all the students started cheering as loud as they could.

All eyes were on Dr. Reynolds as she had her fists pressed together waiting for the music to be on. The routine started with the dancers moving in waves.

Everyone was surprised as how great their principal danced. It was obvious it took her time and energy to perfect the moves as she didn’t even miss a beat.

Students continued cheering and showing their support. And just when everyone thought this incredible woman was done, she went on to show more of her dancing talent.

The choreography was filmed by some of the students and one uploaded it on YouTube. People went crazy over the video and praised Dr. Reynolds for being there with her students every step of the way. Many agree that we need more people like her who are able to connect with the students at a deeper level.

The performance has been seen more than 3.5 million times, and once you see it yourself you’ll understand why.

Do you think your principal could nail something like this? If your answer is no, think twice, you may end up surprised just like the students at the Lake Mary.

Take a look at the video below and don’t forget to share it with your friends.
