This situation has turned out to be an unexpected one!
Many have credited social media as an extremely powerful platform to connect people from all walks of life, and that is especially true for two mothers from Alabama – after an incident at their local movie theatre. The two women got to know each other personally after one of the women apologized for her daughters’ “rude and obnoxious” behavior via Facebook, days after the matter had happened.
Kyesha Smith Wood had allowed her son, daughter and step-daughter to go watch Cinderella at their local movie theater. However, the two girls were laughing and talking loudly throughout the movie, and even kicked Rebecca Boyd’s seat.
“I turned around and I said, ‘You know girls, we paid for this movie just like you did. Could you guys keep it down?’ They just laughed. After I spoke to them, they seemed to not care. They just laughed in my face,” Boyd recalls.
After the movie has ended, Wood’s son told her about his two sisters’ misconduct. This has led her to utilise social media to locate Boyd herself. Embarassed by her daughters’ behaviour, Wood has expressed her sincere apologies to make it up to Boyd and her daughter.
“After the movie she approached my girls and told them that her husband had been laid off and this was the last movie she would be able to take her daughter to for a while and my girls ruined that for her.”
Thanks to Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page where they had shared Wood’s post, the viral story has since generated more than 250,000 likes! Boyd then contacted Wood after seeing the shared post. After meeting Boyd in person, Wood also passed the apology letter which her daughters had written, along with some of their allowance meant for Boyd’s next movie trip. Since then, both families have even became great friends!
There isn’t any situation I can think of that violence is acceptable in normal situations, violence against women is just the worse of the worse! Many people find it hard to understand why any woman in an abusive or violent situation, where she keeps getting beaten, would choose to stay in that position.
But the fact is that it’s not altogether easy to escape those situations, in some cases the cycle of abuse makes many women feel trapped in those situations.Perhaps no one could really understand those kinds of situations completely unless you have been trapped in that situation yourself!
If you have been physically and psychologically beaten into submission for such a long time then you too would probably have very little energy, drive, or fight left to be able to get away either.
YoutubeThe guy in the video below definitely is not right in some way or other, he and a woman are walking down the street when he grabs her firmly by the arms and hits her in the face so violently that she goes to the floor!
Just a few seconds after this a group of men rush down the street…
YoutubeThe group surround the guy and punch him, teaching him a lesson, he will never forget a lesson like that for sure! Well, maybe the karma will teach him a thing or two about how that feels?
That video has been going around online, all over, in fact, it has been seen right around the world, many people think that he got what he deserves!Youtube
I think that violence breeds violence and we should never use violence against people, but every now and again this kind of karma seems to balance the scales.Have a look at the video here to see what went on, WARNING: graphic images!A cautionairy video, see karma at work, in this awakening video, SHARE with friends and family!
It’s very common for the children of celebrities to follow into their famous parents’ footsteps. But having a mom or a dad, or sometimes both, who are widely recognized for what they do can be both a curse and a blessing. People tend to believe that these children have it easy as they have someone who pushes them forward, but many times, they also feel the pressure to reach the success of their parents, which isn’t always easy.
Billy Joel, the creator of some of the most famous music hits ever, such as Piano Man, which became a top 20 single, New York State of Mind, Just the Way You Are, which earned him two Grammy’s for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, Uptown Girl, We Didn’t Start the Fire, and a lot more, is one of the best musicians the world knows of.
His album The Stranger, done in collaboration with well-known producer Phil Ramonewas ranked by the Rolling Stone Magazine at number 67 on its 2003 list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
So, getting even close to what this man has accomplished sounds quite impossible, but it looks like his daughter Alexa Ray Joel is on the right path to gain fame in the world of music herself.
Alexa was born on January 1, 1986. Billy and her mother, model Christie Brinkley met back in 1983 in the Caribbean paradise of St. Bart’s. The moment he laid eyes on the gorgeous blond, he immediately tried to impress her. “I tried to look like me on an album cover. I gave it every angle I could,” he told the Rolling Stone. However, things didn’t work that time. But when Christie’s boyfriend died in a tragic car accident, Billy met her in the Caribbean and the two became a couple.
They married on a yacht in New York Harbor.
Despite her parents being under the spotlight practically their whole lives, Alexa had a very normal childhood. But just when she was eight years old, they divorced. Although those were hard times for the family, they always remained close. Even today, all three of them own houses in Sag Harbor, New York.

Alexa fell in love with music from very early age. She recalls her dad singing lullabies and playing the piano to her. “We would sit around and play music,” she said. “[Dad] would play piano, I would sing ‘Sound of Music,’ and mom would dress me up. I just had so much fun with them that I never got into the crazy party scene.”
“My best memories growing up are of putting on musicals with my mom and dad. Both of them are real hams; it was like vaudeville in East Hampton.”
Alexa attended the New York University as a musical theater student but decided to take a leave of absence to focus on her career.
“I mean, obviously, my parents are kind of a big deal so there was a lot of pressure there for me to kind of be seen in my own light and pave my own way,”, she said.

In 2005, Alexa and her band performed all around the U.S. In 2007, she released her first independently distributed EP in 2007 and took part at many festivals such as Bonnaroo Music & Arts festival and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Since both she and her dad are musicians, it doesn’t come as a surprise that they perform together occasionally. “I learned about embracing all different genres as opposed to just getting attached to one. I just learned so much from him. He’s like a musical encyclopedia,” she said.
Alexa was also part of numerous fashion events in New York where she performed and interviewed celebrities and designers.
In 2008, she was on the cover of BELLA Magazine’s Beauty Issue. “I don’t like the idea of fashion having to be something you have to follow. You have to dress to empower yourself. That’s what it’s all about,” Alexa said.
There were rumors that she has undergone plastic surgeries and she slammed US Weekly for publishing about her. “The continuously-circulating rumors that I have had extensive ‘face-work’ and undergone breast-augmentation surgery is simply and entirely 100 percent false,” she wrote on Instagram. “The only thing I have ever had done is my nose, which I have always been completely candid, honest and open about.” She also added, “Obviously, I’m going to look different. It’s called ‘growing up’! I’m very sorry to disappoint everyone who wants to believe that I have had multiple surgeries, but that just simply isn’t true.”
34-year-old Alexa is engaged to restaurateur Ryan Gleason.
Back in 2017, when he proposed to her, she shared the news on Instagram and wrote, “So I was completely taken off-guard, dumbstruck, and shell-shocked- and FOR ONCE in my life, I had absolutely no words, and I couldn’t speak,” wrote Joel. “I just kept staring at this ridiculously exquisite ring — and he was just hysterically laughing at me!!!”
“He said to me: ‘Before I met you, my world was in black and white. You colored it in between the lines.’ It was the most beautiful thing anybody’s ever said to me. How could I possibly say no to that?!?!”

Today, it looks like she’s back at the studio and focused on her music career again.
The job of servers at restaurants is many times underrated. Customers don’t realize that these people are doing their best each day to serve anyone as fast as possible, having a smile on their face all the time despite being tired from working long hours. Things get even harder when one works in busy places such as the famous New York City pizzeria Patsy’s which has been around for over 80 years. In fact, it is believed that Patsy’s is the first place to has ever offered pizza by slice.
One of the waiters working there is Armando Markaj.
Reddit.com
Recently, Markaj has been serving a woman named Karen and her daughter. Karen, an elderly lady, had no remarks on the service but was offended by the fact there were no enough photos of women among the photos on the walls of the celebrities who have dined there. She decided to ask her waiter why is it like that, to what he said smiling, “Well, summer is coming, probably women don’t like to eat pizza as much. You know, sense of humor.”
He then added that there were in fact photos of female celebrities who have visited the place, among which Barbara Walters, Christine Quinn, and the First Lady. But, according to Karen, that wasn’t much. In fact, she got so mad that she refused to leave Markaj a tip, and wrote on the bill, “Maybe women don’t tip either.”
When Markaj went to clean the table, he noticed the woman had left an envelope behind. When he opened it, he saw a check on $424,000 inside.
Markaj told the owner, Frank, about the check, and the two decided to wait for a couple of days as they were sure Karen would come back looking for it. But since that didn’t happen, they decided to track her down with the help of the social media. Karen learned her check was at the restaurant and went to pick it up. She was very thankful for what the waiter did. Although she refused to tip him for something which apparently wasn’t any of his fault, he still chose to give her her check back. “I’m glad we had it here for you. It would have been dramatic for a lot of people. She was in tears. She was super excited that someone had found it and kept it,” he said.

Karen offered Markaj money, but he refused them, and was only glad he did the right thing.
“Small details like this define us as humans – it’s just a small gesture,” he told ABC7NY News.
Speaking to what the waiter and the owner did for her, Karen said, “I’m so grateful that the insult that we gave him did not prevent him from doing the right thing.”

This story is a perfect reminder that we should treat everyone we meet in life nicely. Kindness doesn’t cost anything, but can change the life of many in an unexpected manner.
According to a research conducted in Lima, Peru, 7 out of 10 women experience sexual harassment on the streets by men who call them names as they walk past by. So, how do we put a stop to this careless and offensive behavior by the “stronger” sex?
It looks like the sporting goods company Everlast knows the answer. After spotting several men who offend women on the streets every day, they decided to do an experiment and involve the habitual harassers’ mothers into it.
The moms agreed to take part with the sole purpose of teaching their sons a lesson that no woman should ever feel a victim of their offensive words and acts. Believe it or not, the moms underwent a “transition” and got wigs and make-up after which they were asked to pass by their sons.
And as you assume already, the results are both concerning and hilarious. One of the harassers says “piggy” as his disguised mother walks past him. At the end they all got what they deserved.
This video is definitely a must watch. Check it out below.
The approval of euthanasia for terminally ill children under the age of 12 by the Dutch government has caused a stir among people not only from the country, but beyond. Before the rules were passed, there had been a debate that lasted for a couple of months, with some saying a child that young cannot be given a chance to choose to terminate their own life because they don’t even understand what they are doing. Others believed that children who are “suffering hopelessly and unbearably,” along with their parents’ consent could be approved for euthanasia.
Euthanasia for babies younger than a year old is already taking place in the Netherlands, and is now extended for terminally ill children younger than 12.

The conservative Christian parties were against the approval, but doctors and pediatricians were reported to be pushing the changes. Health Minister Hugo de Jonge said in a letter to the parliament, “The study shows that there is a need for active termination of life among doctors and parents of incurably ill children, who are suffering hopelessly and unbearably and will die within the foreseeable future.” thus revealed the government’s new plans to make provisions that cover children below the ages of 12.
In addition to the parents’ consent, at least two doctors must agree with the euthanasia upon perceiving the child’s health condition and determining the patient is experiencing “unbearable and endless suffering.”
Based on studies and research, the number of children affected with the new rules will be between 5 and 10 a year. These would be children who suffer from cancer or metabolic diseases which can’t be eased through palliative care.

Referring to those studies, the Health Minister added, according to NL Times, that euthanasia will be provided to “a small group of terminally ill children who agonize with no hope, and unbearable suffering,” and “are without any prospect of improvement.”
When The Netherlands became the first ever country to implement law of euthanasia back in 2001, the then Health Minister said, “[Assisted suicide] is and remains a last resort that cannot be seen as an alternative for poor health care. Doctors have the right to refuse and patients have the right to choose euthanasia.”

Referred to as the “Queen of Pop” and regarded as one of the most influential figures in pop-culture, Madonna only moved up in her career throughout the years and is still the idol of many generations.
However, of all her roles she has had in her life, she seems to love that of a mother the most.
Photo: Wikimedia
Madonna has six children. While she was dating boyfriend Carlos Leon, she got pregnant with her eldest child, daughter Lourdes Leon whose resemblance to her super-star mother is uncanny. At the time the world learned their favorite artist was going to have a baby, they went crazy and everyone was eager to see the little bundle of joy.
In 2000, Madonna married director Guy Ritchie with whom she had son Rocco.
When the couple divorced, Rocco was just eight years old and was forced to live in Britain and the States. He followed his mother on her tours but complained how she didn’t have much time for him as she was busy with her professional life. Eventually, he moved to London permanently after his dad got the custody over him. Today, however, the relationship between Madonna and Rocco is better and they are close again.
Two weeks ago, she posted a photo of him for his birthday and wrote “I Love You more than you will ever know.”
During her divorce with Ritchie, Madonna visited an orphanage in Malawi where she met little David Banda whom she adopted. She also adopted another child from Malawi, her daughter Chifundo Mercy James. Both David and Chifundo are now 14 years old.
Madonna’s adoptive children are happy to have her as their mother. Although she’s known to be very strict and asks from all her children to follow certain rules, she loves them unconditionally and does all that because she wants them to turn into hard-working individuals.
Lourdes is now 23 and looks exactly like her mom. She’s multi-talented and wants to pursue a career in acting. She’s also a fashion model and loves helping her mom choose her outfit for her tours.
When he first appeared on screen in the 1960’s, actor David Birney caught the attention of a huge number of people who loved what he had to show to the world.
Born on April 23rd, 1939 in Washington, D.C, to a father who was a special agent for the FBI, David got to study at prestigious schools. After graduating from West High School, he attended Dartmouth College and majored in English Literature. While at the UCLA, talented and versatile David earned M.A. in theater arts, acting and directing.

He had his first major role in the soap opera Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing in which he portrayed the character of Mark Elliot.
Besides being one of the most famous actors at the time, David nurtured his love for theater as well and was part of numerous productions. His role of a soldier killed in Vietnam in Ron Cowen’s play Summertree earned him the Theater World and Clarence Derwent award in 1968.
David was well aware of his popularity and admitted he was “also the most popular actor of daytime television.”
As he became more and more famous, magazines were interested to learn more of his private life, including his religion. When asked whether he was half Jewish, David told The New York Times, “Why does everybody want to know if I’m Jewish? David asked. “I really find it offensive, because I don’t know whether they’re asking about my religion or my background. Actually, I’m an Irish Protestant but I have no organized religious affiliation. And religion is much too serious a thing to talk about. After all, we’re all actors, and nobody asks if it’s difficult being Protestant and playing Macbeth, or being Jewish and playing Irish.”
The onscreen chemistry between David and co-star Meredith Baxter in the short-lived sitcom Bridget Loves Bernie continued in their private life.
The two fell deeply in love and tied the knot in 1974. They had three children together and in 1985, they hosted the NBC show Missing … Have You Seen This Person? which was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for an Outstanding Informational special. Their marriage ended in 1989.
A few years after they separated, Meredith came forward with allegations against her ex-husband saying he struck her in several occasions. “It was so sudden and unexpected, I couldn’t tell you which hand hit me, or even how hard,” she wrote in her memoir Untied. “I do recall thinking, ‘I’d better not get up because he’s going to hit me again.'”
David commented these allegations as “immensely sad and truly absurd,” adding, “Meredith’s own account of these years is its own rebuke to her credibility.” He told People Magazine that she was just trying to get a full custody of their children by portraying him as a bad person.
In 2009, Meredith came out as a lesbian and is now married to Nancy Locke.

Many actors could envy David on his career in both film and especially theater. Among the roles he performed on stage are Antonio Salieri in Amadeus, David in Benefactors, and Jack Tanner in Man and Superman. He has been especially fond of Shakespeare and played in almost every of his plays, including Hamlet, Macbeth, and Romeo and Juliette.
In the 1990’s, Davis directer A Christmas Pudding. The funds raised were donated to the charity People Assisting the Homeless. This wasn’t the first time, however, for the actor to be doing something for those in need. He has been a humanitarian his whole life and helped change the life of many for the better.
”It’s an activity that started as a lark and sort of turned out to be something quite substantial,” David said in 2000.
In 2017, some magazines, among which Wide Wide World newsletter for Dartmouth College class of 1961 alumni, reported that David was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, news which wasn’t confirmed by David or any of his spokespeople.
In it, classmate Arthur Bloom wrote, “I would like to thank all the members of the class who have taken the time to call David Birney. His long-time companion and caregiver, Michele Roberge, tells me that those calls are the highlight of his day. The official diagnosis is now Alzheimer’s, but it is still possible to have a conversation with David —although sometimes those conversations are a bit like doing Theatre of the Absurd without a script.”
Michele and David performed together at the 50-year reunion of Dartmouth College class of 1961.
Last year, the same newsletter said, “Arthur [Bloom, old classmate] talks to David Birney several times a week; David can ‘still get out a few simple sentences and phrases, and we have basically one or two minute conversations. He is well taken care of by his loving companion Michele Roberge and by an aide who comes in when Michele is not there.”
David has left so much to the world of film and theater. He is a truly awesome man with a heart of gold.
