Thomas Markle spotted handing a handwritten letter to Oprah following Meghan and Harry’s prime-time interview

After it was revealed that he staged photos of himself getting ready for his daughter’s wedding in a bid to improve his image and lied he didn’t do it, Thomas Markle’s relationship with the Duchess of Sussex broke off and they don’t get along ever since.

Reportedly, the photos sold for over £100,000 ($137,000) and Meghan wasn’t happy.

Thomas wasn’t by his daughter’s side on her special day and he even tried to undermine her public image on several occasions.

After he spoke to several outlets, including the Daily Mail, and said he was silenced and cut off from his daughter’s life, thus referred to the Royals as “a cult,” Meghan sent Thomas a five-page letter and begged him not to speak to the media. Shortly after, parts of that letter somehow emerged and found their place on the covers of many magazines. Meghan was heartbroken and decided to sue the Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), publisher of the Mail on Sunday and MailOnline.

Her lawyers claimed that the publication of the “intrinsically private, personal and sensitive” letter was “unlawful” and “a triple-barrelled invasion of her privacy rights,” according to The Mirror.

To the surprise of many, in February, Meghan won the lawsuit against the publishing company.

As reported by NBC News, Meghan commented the outcome by releasing a statement in which she wrote: “For these outlets, it’s a game. For me and so many others, it’s real life, real relationships, and very real sadness. The damage they have done and continue to do runs deep.”

During the exclusive interview with Oprah, in which a lot had been revealed, Meghan spoke of her estranged father and commented his words that he felt betrayed by her. “If we were going to use the word betrayal, it’s because when I asked him, when the comms team told us this the story was coming out, we called my dad and I asked him and he said, ‘No, absolutely not,'” the former actress said.

“When I said we won’t be able to protect our own kids one day and I said: ‘So I just need you to tell me and if you tell me the truth, we can help.'”

“He wasn’t able to do that,” she added. “And that for me has really resonated, especially now as a mother. I look at Archie, I think about this child, and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child.”

However, it looked like Thomas wasn’t happy with what was said about him so he decided to find a way to have his voice heard.

After he appeared on Good Morning Britain, Thomas Markle said he would be publicly speaking every 30 days until Meghan and Harry get in touch with him.

According to The Sun, Mr. Markle was spotted in front of Oprah’s $100 million home handing a letter to the security guard. Apparently, the letter asked from Oprah for an interview with him.

“Thomas delivered a letter to Oprah asking her to contact him so he could tell his side of the story,” a source told The Sun. “This was not a note to Meghan and Harry, it was meant for Oprah. “Thomas watched the interview she did with them and feels he deserves a chance to have his say.”

Texas Trooper who was shot by a person he tried to help “has no viable brain activity”

Texas State Trooper Chad Walker was shot multiple times on Friday around 7:45 p.m after he pulled off his car in an attempt to help what looked like a disabled vehicle in Mexia, Texas.

Unfortunately, the person behind the wheel got out of the car and started shooting all of a sudden. According to the Texas Department of public safety, the shooter, later identified as DeArthur Pinson Jr., “immediately emerged from the driver’s seat of the disabled vehicle armed with a handgun and fired multiple rounds at Trooper Walker through the patrol unit’s windshield.”

After the shooting, Pinson Jr. fled the scene and entered an abandoned house where he killed himself.

Trooper Walker was rushed to a hospital, but not much could be done. Currently, he “remains on life-support until he can share the gift of life as an organ donor.”

“This final sacrifice embodies Trooper Walker’s actions throughout his life and service as a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper.”

Trooper Walker has been part of the department for over 15 years. He left behind a wife and four kids, a 15-year-old son, 7-year-old twin girls, and a 2-month-old daughter.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family during these hard times. The Texas Fallen Officer Foundation stepped in as well and offered to help the Walkers.

Speaking to Fox 44, Chaplain Ron Leonard, a volunteer at the foundation said: “We just try to help the law enforcement and their families, try to comfort them in a real time of need. As you know this kind of trauma will affect them not months but years to come.”

One might say that having Henry Fonda as a father, Jane had it easy, but the reality is that this incredible actress reached her celeb status thanks to her hard work and her undeniable talent.

A trip to North Vietnam during the war earned her the nickname ‘Hanoi Jane’ after a photo of her posing seated on an anti-aircraft gun in Hanoi emerged, making it look like she would shoot down American planes. During that same trip, she appeared on 10 radio programs where she spoke against the U.S. military’s policy in Vietnam.

Speaking to People, Jane said: “I’ll tell you something that I haven’t achieved, which is a successful marriage. But the second part of your question is, ‘Do you want to?’ I don’t want to.”

Recently, she shared how she feels about having a sexual relationship with someone at her age and told Harper’s Bazaar: “I don’t have that desire. Do I fantasize? Yes … That I meet a professor or a researcher, somebody in that line who is really capable of loving, of cherishing a woman, so that I could test myself and see if I could show up.

“I think maybe now I could, but the problem is that, like a man, I would want a younger man,” Jane added. “Isn’t that awful? It’s a thing about skin. I would want a younger man, and I’m too vain.”

World War II veteran gets a free hair cut on his 100th birthday

World War II veteran Manny “America” Ruiz reached a milestone a few days ago. This man who showed bravery many times over the course of his life turned 100 years old!

Back in 1940, he married the love of his life, Mona, whom he met while growing up at the farming communities around Minneapolis. The two were married for 70 years before Mona passed away. But Manny is still a lucky man who has four children, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren who remind him how much he means to them every single day.

Reaching 100, all the family and friends gathered together to celebrate the joyous occasion. However, before that, something truly special happened.

Some 15 or more years ago, when Manny was having his hair cut at the Leucadia Barber Shop, the owner, Linda, promised to give him a free haircut once he turns 100.

Believe it or not, Manny, who didn’t have a middle name and gave the name America to himself, kept a written proof of the promise he was given.

“I’m back, you never thought I’d be back, I want a free haircut, it was promised, start clipping,” Manny told Linda when he entered the barber shop.

Linda couldn’t believe her eyes. “A free hair cut when you turn 100 and you’ve been waiting for what? 17 or 18 years?” she said according to 11 Alive News.

“I am entitled to a free cut when I reach one hundred years of age, it’s legal document,” Manny said smiling.

Manny’s grandson Scott Thompson raised a glass of champagne in his grandpa’s honor and said: “He is a true American hero, thank you grandpa. I love you, Happy Birthday.”

Daughter Karen added: “I’m so proud of my dad, my dad is just top notch.” She then explained why she believed this free haircut meant so much to her father. “It’s free, he was born in the depression, he was raised in the depression and this is his way of saying ‘give me something free because I was born in the depression and I didn’t have anything.’”

Mom confronts loud teens in a hotel, they respond with a heartfelt note

Randi Jo and John Amt from Indiana were forced to stay at a hotel for quite some time together with their three kids because their house got flooded. 

Speaking to WTHR, John said of the situation they found themselves in: “Living in a hotel can be fun for a little while, but being in a hotel for a long time gets to be a little difficult.”

And, as every mom and dad of little kids, the Amts were hoping to find some peace and quiet at the hotel. However, there was a group of young students there who were having fun and were a bit more loud than they should have. That meant the Amts’ kids couldn’t sleep and were woken up by the noise and the loud giggling that wouldn’t stop.

The students were all members of FFA, Future Farmers of America, who came from Kansas to Indiana for the organization’s annual meeting during which they elect new national officers, engage in breakout sessions and accomplish quite a lot while in town.

Randi Jo planned on speaking with the youngsters, and was thinking that the right thing to do would be to explain to them why her family was staying at a hotel and how they were going through a stressful situation, so they really needed to get some sleep together with their little ones. This mom wanted the students to feel compassion and she definitely didn’t want to get into an argument with them. Randi Jo carefully thought of what she should say because she didn’t want the students to think of her as the angry lady next door.

A few days after they arrived at the hotel, Randi Jo noticed the students’ room doors were cracked open so she went to have a little chat with them. 

“I told them that we wanted them to have their fun and we would appreciate their respect to let our kids get a good night’s rest. The young man who answered the door told me that he was very sorry about what we were going through.”

Shortly after, Randi Jo noticed someone slipping a note under her door. The students wrote an apology along with $40 for the family.

The note said: “We are more than sorry for waking you and your family up the past few nights. We hope everything goes well with your house.”

Randi Jo explained: “I opened the note to find money. In a world where some people sit behind screens and become angry on social media, this young man restored my faith that the next generation can make eye contact and show compassion to the person right in front of him … They set an excellent example for my children and their parents should be more than proud.”

How incredibly thoughtful of the FFA students.  They inspired the Amts to pay it forward and help someone homeless. 

Police officer of 50 years dies on the day of his retirement after finishing his last shift

They say that If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. However, not many people are given the privilege to find a job that fulfills them completely and makes them happy. Hamblen County Deputy Stan Shaw was lucky to be doing what he loved the most.

Taking care of the members of the community and making sure they are safe and sound was this man’s top priority. He served his country and his people for 50 years. Sadly, on the day Deputy Shaw was about to have his last ever shift, he died of a heart attack.

After finishing the shift and saying goodbye to everyone at the department, Deputy Shaw headed home, but unfortunately, he never made it there, but was found unresponsive inside his vehicle.

The GoFundMe page set up by by Michael Quinton to help the late Deputy’s family read: “EMTs were able to get his heart going as he was transported to the hospital. It was determine he had a heart attack. Unfortunately he was without oxygen for too long, and was placed on life support. After many scans and second opinions it was determined he had no brain function. His wife of 38 years had to make the toughest decision.”

Deputy Shaw wanted to retire some 10 years ago, but after only a month spent at home, away from the department, he changed his mind because he knew the community needed him.

Speaking to Fox 19, his daughter, Rhea Shaw Grebenik, said of her father: “He believed in second chances. So, if he arrested you, or come in contact with you, or you had been arrested, he was one of the officers who would sit down with you and council you.”

Rhea also added how her dad had a lot of plans for the future. He envisioned his golden days enjoying with his wife and dog, going fishing with his daughter and her husband, and doing woodwork with his grandchildren. Sadly, he was never given that chance.

“He served his community up until his dying day and I’m proud of him for that,” Rhea said.

Sales representative dies of heart attack during working hours, store’s employees cover his body with umbrellas in an effort not to close the place

What many considered a despicable act of inhumanity happened in the Brazilian market Carrefour on August 14 of 2020 after a man who worked as a sales representative for a food brand inside the store suffered a heart-attack and his body was surrounded with boxes and covered with umbrellas.

While the body was lying on the floor, the market didn’t close and customers were casually shopping as they had no idea what was going on.

Later, a photo of the body was shared online and people were left completely outraged at the horrific way of how the employees and the managers managed the situation and disrespected the deceased.

“This is the body of a deceased worker in the middle of the Carrefour supermarket. He died while working and was covered with umbrellas. Witnesses say the supermarket functioned normally,” the caption shared along the photo read.

Brazilian news outlet G1 also shared the story of the unfortunate passing of 51-year-old Moisés Santos and contacted the store’s manager who admitted that they handled the situation inappropriately.

Before the staff from the funeral home arrived, at least three hours had passed.

Carefour issued a statement offering an apology but insisted they were advised not to move the body. However they are completely aware that their error is in “not closing the store immediately after what happened to await the funeral service, as well as in not finding the correct way to look after the body.”

“We apologize to the family and stand ready to support them in whatever way necessary,” Carrefour said, as reported by Reuters.

Adam Lambert moves Cher to tears with his touching performance of her chart-topping song

If a musician as famous and as distinguished as Cher gives a standing ovation to a performer, then it definitely means the performer is very talented. Singing the iconic Believe, Adam Lambert brought Cher to tears during the 41st Annual Kennedy Center Honors.

This young man has made a name for himself after taking the stage of America’s Got Talent. He got to the finals and ended up second, but that didn’t prevent him from stealing millions of hearts. Lambert’s vocal is so powerful that Queen’s original guitarist Brian May couldn’t help by invite him on a tour which turned into a long-lasting cooperation. The band is still having concerts and are known by the name Queen + Adam Lambert.

It was Lambert’s hit single Whataya Want From Me that helped him secure his position in the music industry. His first album, For Your Entertainment, debuted at number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 and the young musician experienced huge success.

While performing Believe, Lambert belted out a pitch-perfect tones and Cher couldn’t contain her feelings thus poured her heart out, and with that, she paid Lambert the biggest compliment. Listening to him perform this son is an out-of-this-world experience.
