“He took care of her” – The bond between Prince Philip and Princess Diana

According to many, what Princess Diana and Prince Philip had in common was that they were both some sort of outsiders when they joined the Royal Family. Over time, however, both of them became much loved members of the royalty.

Prince Philip, who passed away on April 9, 2021, in the comfort of his home, was the longest serving consort in British history. He was someone the whole country admired not only for serving the people, but for being the Queen’s “strength and stay” for more than 73 years.

After his death, his beloved family paid tribute to him the best they knew. Harry spoke of him as of “a rock” for the Queen “with unparalleled devotion,” as per BBC. “While I could go on, I know that right now he would say to all of us, beer in hand, ‘Oh do get on with it!'”

William said in his statement, “My grandfather was an extraordinary man and part of an extraordinary generation. Catherine and I will continue to do what he would have wanted and will support The Queen in the years ahead. I will miss my Grandpa, but I know he would want us to get on with the job.”

With Prince Philip’s passing, many magazines decided to take a look back at his relationship with late Princess Diana, his former daughter-in-law.

It has been revealed that Prince Philip and Diana were in contact and exchanged a number of letters after her marriage with Prince Charles started struggling and was put to an end eventually.

According to the book Prince Philip Revealed, written by the royal author Ingrid Seward, previewed by People, “When (Diana) found the restrictions of royal life difficult, it was Philip who helped her.”

“Once she was married, she never sat next to her husband; she was always sat next to Philip at the endless black-tie dinners, and he took care of her,” Ingrid continued.

“Diana found the Balmoral dinners a massive strain and the atmosphere stifling. When the piper came around the table after dinner with his kilt swirling and his pipes whining, she couldn’t wait to leave the room.”

The mail correspondence between the two leaked in 2003 by former royal butler Paul Burrell. According to him, one of the letters Price Philip addressed to the Princess said: “I cannot imagine anyone in their right mind leaving you for Camilla,” as per Daily Mail.

“We do not approve of either of you having lovers. Charles was silly to risk everything with Camilla for a man in his position. We never dreamed he might feel like leaving you for her. Such a prospect never even entered our heads.”

Further, it was revealed that Prince Philip wrote that if he was invited to help his son and Diana overcome their differences, he would do his best, to what the Princess replied: “I would like you to know how much I admire you for the marvelous way in which you have tried to come to terms with this intensely difficult family problem.”

Apparently, after the marriage ended and things became rough between Diana and Charles, resentment grew between Prince Philip and Diana. He believed that her behavior was affecting the family’s reputation, while she was reported to had thought that her former father-in-law was trying to be way too involved in her relationship with Charles.

We will remember both Prince Philip and Princess Diana as individuals with hearts of gold and immense love for their people.

Cancer survivor kicked off from bridal party because bride didn’t want someone with bald head on the photos

When we think about it, the wedding day is all about family and friends for some brides, and all about perfect photoshoot and a chance to brag for others.

The bride in this story is described like a real bridezilla by some, but there are also those who believe she didn’t do anything wrong when she asked her friend of many years, who is a cancer survivor, not to be her bridesmaid because of her bald head.

A woman that goes under the name bridesmaidwoes123, took to Reddit to ask the fellow redditors whether she was the selfish one, as the bride claimed, or she had all the right to be mad and refuse to attend the wedding.

This what she wrote: “I am very good friends with the bride to be, lets call her Karen for simplicity. She got engaged about 1.5 years ago and immediately asked me to be a bridesmaid which I was thrilled about (she was my maid of honor for context). To make a long story short I got some real bad news in the past year and had to undergo radiation and chemotherapy.”

Karen was quite supportive of her and helped her overcome the tough period which came with the devastating diagnosis. Not only that, but Karen invited her out to celebrate her remission and took her to spa. The two had a lot of fun until Karen said she had a special surprise.

“At the end of the day she takes me to a special hair salon which specializes in high quality wigs. I am a little taken aback by this because Karen knows that a lot of the work I have been involves psychological treatment in cancer patients and avoiding the shame associated with hair loss for instance. I politely go through the appointment and even try on some wigs although I was quite upset honestly,” the woman wrote.

Karen offered to pick a wig for her, but the woman sharing this story didn’t want one. What’s most, she wanted to forget all about that day.

Later that day, Karen called the woman and told her that she couldn’t be part of her bridal party because the minister believed there were too many people invited already.

“This completely floors me because basically I am her number 2 girl after her sister (who she barely gets a long with),” the woman explained. “I call around and it although some of the other bridesmaids are reluctant to tell me anything hint at the fact that Karen was worried about how the pictures are going to look with someone with a bald head.”

She also added that she tried contacting Karen but there was no answer back. Later, however, Karen called her back and tried convincing her that her hair had nothing to do with her decision to remove her from the bridal party.

A lot of redditors took a stand. One person wrote: “…I think brides like this ought to just cancel their weddings and host fancy photo shoots instead. It’s all about the pictures for them. To hell with friends, family, the comfort of guests, etc… It sucks to lose a friend. But then again, she doesn’t really seem like a friend at this point. The phrase, ‘when people show you who they are, believe them’ comes to mind.”

Another person, however, posted: “Wig shopping after cancer treatment seems like something super personal to me. I think Karen should have discussed this with you, before she took you to this shop and tried to buy you a wig. She crossed a boundary here by trying to change your look and your body, when you’ve just been through an experience where you didn’t have control over your own body. Does that make sense?”

Third person said: “Wouldn’t having a healthy friend in her wedding be a great gift? You’re a warrior. Screw the wig. Also, as a minister’s kid, I can safely say that ministers know enough to not stick their noses into bridal planning. So she’s a shit liar and a shit friend. Congrats on remission!”

Meghan Markle will not be attending Prince Philip’s funeral because she doesn’t want to be “the center of attention”

The plans for The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral were made long ago and were dubbed “Operation Forth Bridge.” Initially, it was planned for around 800 people to attend the ceremony. However, due to the restrictions imposed because of the ongoing pandemic, the number of people who will be attending Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday is limited to 30. Sources say the Queen had a hard time choosing who will be there by her husband’s side to say their final goodbyes.

Among those attending the service will be Prince Philip’s children and their spouses, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, the Duke of York, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex, as well as his grandchildren, including Prince Harry, who stepped foot on British soil after spending over a year in the States.

However, Meghan Markle will miss the service. According to reports, she has been advised by her doctors not to travel considering she’s carrying her second child. It has been also reported that Meghan had a good relationship with Prince Philip. But, according to some magazines, including Daily Mail, the real reason why Meghan didn’t accompanied her husband to Britain is the stir they caused after the interview with Oprah during which a lot had been revealed.

“Meghan said her main concern right now is supporting Harry. She said she left it up to him as to whether or not she would attend the funeral,” the source told Daily Mail.

Her friends, on the other hand, say she opted to stay in America because she didn’t want to be “the center of attention.”

A source close to Meghan said that the Queen understands her absence and adds: “Meghan said this is the opportune time for Henry to mend his relationship with his brother and his dad. She doesn’t need to be there for that.”

Buckingham Palace released a statement which included the details of the funeral which will take place on April 17, at three o’clock, and will start with a national minute of silence.

According to The Sun, Prince Philip spent quite some time helping design the specially built Land Rover in which his coffin would be carried.

The Independent reports that the specially designed vehicle will be flanked by several pall bearers to reflect the late prince’s relation with the military, the Royal Marines, Regiments, Corps and Air Stations. As per the Daily Mail, in a conversation with the Queen, Prince Philip once said: “Just stick me in the back of a Land Rover and drive me to Windsor.”

Prince Harry expects from the royal family to apologize to Meghan over the way they treated her

Speaking to Oprah, during the bombshell interview, Meghan said that she believed the rumors that the Buckingham Palace itself might have played a role in helping the British tabloid press smear her and Harry could be true. “I don’t know how they could expect that after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there was an active role that the Firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us,” she said. “And if that comes with risk of losing things, I mean, I’ve—there’s a lot that’s been lost already.”

Royal author Tom Quinn presented some thoughts on why the relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the family sort of broke down. According to him, Meghan was told at one point that she would never be “in first division.”

Next, it seemed like the former Suits star wasn’t happy that she and Harry got to live into Nottingham Cottage, which according to what Quinn told Express “is tiny compared to the enormous double apartment that Kate and William have.”

According to US Weekly, Harry believes that his wife deserves an apology by his family for the way they treated her. “The problem with Harry is that he’s hooked on being right and regardless of saying he wants to move on from this, he won’t back down until he gets some form of apology from his family,” the source told the magazine.

Meghan spoke of her mental health and the struggles she experienced after she became part of the royalty. She and Harry touched the question of racism after they revealed there were conversations about the color of Archie’s skin before he was even born. According to Meghan, she didn’t get any help when she decided to open up about her suicidal thoughts and was told it could affect the Firm’s reputation.

From the moment Meghan started dating Harry, she was somehow “attacked” by the tabloids that has followed her every step, and apparently, Harry wanted to prevent the “history from repeating itself,” referring to the intensive relationship between his late mother and the paparazzi.

Prince William will give Harry “one more chance” to prove his loyalty to the family

From revelations about Meghan’s suicidal thoughts and the inability of the Royals to deal with her condition because of fears that their reputation could be ruined, to conversations about what the color of then unborn Archie might be and Harry’s belief that his father and brother are “trapped” inside the system, the Sussexes revealed a lot. And as it seemed like they needed to ease their souls with that bombshell interview, it only affected the relationship between Harry and William further.

The Royals spoke out through a statement saying they will further research the allegations brought out by Harry and Meghan who stepped down from their royal duties and moved to America.

Prince William also commented the allegations and said “We’re very much not a racist family” when asked for a comment on the matter by a Sky News reporter during a formal visit.

The Sussexes are now living the life they dreamed of when they stepped down from their royal duties. They are expecting their second child, a daughter, and Harry was reported to have found a job at the Silicon Valley with the startup company BetterUp.

At the same time, they have made contracts with Netflix and Spotify and are working with their non-profit organization Archewell.

The couple’s show, Heart of Invictus, which will be produced by their Archewell Productions company is expected to be shown on Netflix. The series will show competitors preparing for the 2022 Invictus games.

“Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination and resolve,” Harry said of the games he initiated back in 2014, according to Sky News.

And as Harry is trying to live and ordinary life, Prince William isn’t happy with some of his brother’s choices. According to US Weekly’s Christina Garibaldi, “William thinks Harry chose fame over family,” as quoted by Express.

“A source tells us that ‘William feels that Harry has got too big for his boots since moving to California and that success and Hollywood has gone to his head.’ He’s already accused him of putting fame over family after the big interview but is willing to give Harry one last chance to prove his loyalty to his family.”

Currently, Harry is in Britain as he will be attending his grandfather’s funeral. He and William are about to meet for the first time after the bombshell interview. Hopefully, they will manage to put their differences aside.

Meghan won’t be attending the funeral as her doctor advised her not to travel.

Gene Hubbard was diagnosed with diabetes more than 20 years ago and doctors made it clear that he had to adapt his lifestyle to his new condition. Despite taking medications and monitoring his blood sugar levels, Gene lost his eyesight because of the condition. Being blind, however, didn’t interfere a great deal with his life only because he didn’t let that happen. He was determined to do his best to continue doing what he did before and is managing to function normally every single day.

He still has a full-time job and takes the bus every day relying on a series of memorized schedules, maps, and routes.

One day, Gene found himself in an unenviable situation because of a sudden change of route. Speaking to Fox 6, Gene explained what had happened, saying: “If I don’t have a regular locating point to start from, I may as well be in the middle of the ocean.” Thankfully, someone caring decided to step up for Gene without knowing his act of kindness had been caught on camera. The young bus driver, Thaddaus Turner, could feel that Gene was in distress, so he decided to pull over his bus and walk Gene to his typical path.

All thanks to Thaddaus’ help, Gene could get home safe and sound. It might be a small act for the driver, but it meant the world to someone like Gene. Thank you young man for your heart of gold. News on Simon Cowell’s health following electric bike accident

When it comes to music talent shows, Simon Cowell is the first name that comes to mind. He’s considered one of the strictest and most harsh judges, but his experience in the music business and industry gives him all the right to tell contestants the truth about their performance on the stage of American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The X Factor.

His scathing critical remarks became sort of trademark on the shows and people can’t wait to hear him judge the way only he can.

Some of the music names we have Cowell to thank for are Westlife, Little Mix, Leona Lewis, Olly Murs, Fifth Harmony, and Il Divo.

When he was young, Cowell didn’t really excel at school so his parents sent him to a boarding school, but at the age of 16, he left it. He didn’t like the life there, which could be seen from a letter he wrote to his parents back then and which was handed to him during an appearance at a British TV show. According to Daily Star the letter read:

“Dear Mum and Dad, I hope you’re happy to have finally got rid of me.

“I also hope you’re happy in your centrally heated warm house and you have a lot to eat, because I’m lying in a dormitory which has icicles on the inside, and there is nothing to eat. I’m freezing cold and hungry. I hope you’re finally satisfied. Simon.”

However, Cowell later said how he was in fact glad he went through that experience and wasn’t really mad at his mom and dad. “Every time I was sitting in chemistry lessons with stupid Bunsen burners and stuff, I thought, ‘I’m not going to do that when I’m 30.’ I’d get bored and I’d get frustrated and I couldn’t wait to leave,” he said.

Once he left school, he started working with his dad and soon after, he started his own business which wasn’t as successful as he expected. Eventually, Cowell founded S Records Label and his career took off almost overnight. By 2001 Cowell’s name was widely recognized across the Atlantic when he and Spice Girls’ manager Simon Fuller created the talent show Pop Idol. Cowell realized people loved it very much and he knew these shows would become his thing. Soon after, he became a multi-millionaire and is still one of the best in the business.

In 2014, Cowell became a dad. He and Lauren Silverman welcomed son Eric.

“Meeting Lauren and becoming a dad was the most fantastic thing to happen in my life,” Cowell told Hello Magazine.

“It’s hard when you have kids at my age but it’s amazing. When you work as hard as I do, you think, ‘What’s it all going to be for at the end?’ Then somebody like him comes along and it’s all worthwhile.”

In 2017, Cowell fell down the stairs due to low blood pressure but luckily didn’t suffer any serious injuries. That experience, however, was a wake-up call for him to change his lifestyle. He went vegan and lost around 60 pounds. “I can eat certain fruits, but not all fruits. You have to be careful because some fruit can have more sugar than a can of Coke,” Cowell told The Sun. “Once you get into a pattern I’ve found it quite enjoyable. It has helped me sleep and I wake up feeling less tired. I noticed a massive difference in how I felt in about a week.”

Sadly, Cowell suffered another accident last year after he fell off his electric bike. He hurt his back badly and had to undergo a six-hour surgery.

He even warned his fans to be extra cautious when riding electric bikes. “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time,” he wrote on Twitter along with a thank you for the kind messages.

Speaking to Extra TV, Cowell explained that he felt really frightened when he saw the X-ray of his back. “I knew I’d broken my back the minute I landed. It was really, really kind of sudden and it hurt,” he said. “It could have been a lot worse. When I saw the X-ray, I really nearly could have smashed my spine to pieces, so I literally wouldn’t have been able to walk.”

The recovery did take some time, although Cowell revealed that he got out of bed and started walking just two days after his surgery. Speaking to People, he said he felt “embarrassed about coming home looking about 100 because I couldn’t walk, and I have these metal rods in my back and these screws.” 

He also shared a sweet moment he shared with his son Eric. “I said, ‘Lauren, I just don’t know how to explain it to Eric.’ She obviously said something to him because he came in and I was lying in bed and he said, ‘Daddy, you’re like Ironman,’ and I thought that was the sweetest thing and it meant a lot.”

The good thing is that he’s feeling better and better with each passing day and keeps himself in great shape by walking and exercising. According to The Sun, we’ll see Cowell back for the shooting of the new season of America’s Got Talent.

The pandemic allowed him to spend more time with his family and run his business from the comfort of his home. One thing is certain, Simon Cowell looks better than ever.

Experts reveal that Harry and William will stand “shoulder to shoulder” at Prince Philip’s funeral

As the British people, as well as people from all over the world, mourn the loss of Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh and life-long husband of Queen Elizabeth, all eyes are on the Royal family.

The protocol about the funeral that will take place on April 17 has been released and it was said that Prince Philip will be laid to rest in the famous St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. The funeral will start with a national minute of silence and his coffin will be carried in a specially built Land Rover Prince Phillip himself helped design.

The Buckingham Palace released a statement. “The Funeral Service will be attended by Her Majesty The Queen and Members of the Royal Family.

“The coffin, carried by a Bearer Party found by the Royal Marines, will be received at the top of the West Steps of St George’s Chapel by the Dean of Windsor and the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Naval Cap and Sword will be placed on the coffin ahead of the service and His Royal Highness’s Insignia will be laid on the Altar of the Chapel. At the conclusion of the service, His Royal Highness will be interred in the Royal Vault in St George’s Chapel.”

Many want to believe that attending Prince Philip’s funeral together is the start of the reconciliation between the brothers.

According to Daily Mail, royal expert and author Penny Junior said: “My hope is that if something good can come out of the Duke’s death it will be that it brings the family together. But clearly there is a lot of hurt there on all sides, and I imagine they will all be feeling apprehensive about seeing one another again.

“With luck, their desire to support the Queen and pull together for her sake, which I am sure is what the Duke would have wanted, will win the day.”
