Prince Louis acted ‘impatient’ at Christmas – his father used a subtle gesture to calm him down, expert claims

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. It is a time of expressing kindness, gratitude, and love, and time to be thankful for everything we have.

Like every year, the British Royal family spent the holiday at Sandringham.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are always keen on celebrating the most magical day of the year with the rest of the family. This is because they want to give their three children a yearly family tradition.

“It’s important to them that their kids share childhood traditions like their school pals,” an insider told Us Weekly in 2018.

“They’re going all-out to make it extra special.”

They, however, always attend the formal dinner on Christmas Eve, often including Norfolk shrimp and lamb.

The morning, as per tradition, is reserved for a classic English breakfast consisting of eggs, sausages, bacon, and beans.

Following the traditional visit to St Mary Magdalene Church, the royals have their Christmas lunch, the main course of which being a roast turkey.

As per US Weekly, the family members also have upheld Henry VII’s tradition of “weighing in before and after Christmas lunch.”

At 3 p.m., the family sits down to watch the annual Christmas speech on television. Over the years, late Queen Elizabeth’s annual speech was a highlight for many, but as of last year, it is the new head of the monarchy, King Charles, who is giving a speech. In the address, he spoke of faith and compassion and thanked the “selfless army” of volunteers.

“Over this past year, my heart has been warmed by countless examples of the imaginative ways in which people are caring for one another – going the extra mile to help those around them simply because they know it is the right thing to do: at work and at home; within and across communities,” Charles said in his Christmas speech.

“My wife and I were delighted when hundreds of representatives of that selfless army of people – volunteers who serve their communities in so many ways and with such distinction – were able to join us in Westminster Abbey for the coronation earlier this year.”

He added: “They are an essential backbone of our society. Their presence meant so much to us both and emphasized the meaning of coronation itself: above all, a call to us all to serve one another, to love and care for all.”

The King also spoke of the many conflicts taking place around the world and wished for peace in the year to come.

“At a time of increasingly tragic conflict around the world, I pray that we can also do all in our power to protect each other. The words of Jesus seem more than ever relevant: ‘Do to others as you would have them do to you. Such values are universal, drawing together our Abrahamic family of religions and other belief systems across the Commonwealth and wider world,” he said.

“They remind us to imagine ourselves in the shoes of our neighbors and to seek their good as we would our own. So on this Christmas Day, my heart and my thanks go to all who are serving one another; all who are caring for our common home; and all who see and seek the good of others, not least the friend we do not yet know. In this way, we bring out the best in ourselves. I wish you a Christmas of ‘peace on Earth and goodwill to all’, today and always.”

Watching the royals take a trip to St. Mary Magdalene Church is a delight for many.

The truth is that when it comes to the British royal family, it’s all about tradition. There are plenty of rules which date back centuries, and although most of them seemed quite reasonable back in the day, they are found rather awkward nowadays. Well, despite that, royals still follow them strictly.

One of those rules is related to the way they dress. From gloves, to military uniforms, and skirts instead of jeans, to tiaras and lavish jewelry, the outfits worn by the royals have fascinated many over the years.

We are certain everyone remembers late Queen Elizabeth’s rainbow coats and hats, which are there for a reason. According to Diana Mather, a scholar of English etiquette, wearing hats is a result of an old tradition prohibiting women from showing their hair.

Some of the things which are ‘forbidden’ is the colored nail polish and wearing jeans.

This year, what caught everyone’s attention was the choice of clothes for young Prince Louis.

When it comes to the youngest members of the royal family, there is this rule which states that young boys are only allowed to wear shorts, no matter the weather conditions. If you wonder why, etiquette expert William Hanson has the answer. According to him, this tradition dates back to the 16th century.

“It’s a very English thing to dress a young boy in shorts,” he told Harper’s Bazaar. “Trousers are for older boys and men, whereas shorts on young boys is one of those silent class markers that we have in England.”

“This was the first time we saw his little brother Louis wear a blazer and tie in public, and the fact that the Princess of Wales chose sky blue rather than navy made the outfit more fun and age-appropriate,” British children’s wear designer Rachel Riley told People Magazine.

“He also matched perfectly with his mother and sister, something which he can still do as the youngest sibling.”

What also caught the attention of the public when it comes to the young prince was his evident impatience while the entire royal family was on their way to the church. Louis was holding hands with his father and his second cousin Mia Tindall.

According to body language expert Judi James, Louis was excited and impatient but his dad did something to calm him down.

“Louis, like most small children on Christmas morning, looked excited but also impatient,” James said.

“Zara’s daughter had been given the job of anchoring his left hand while William held onto his right, and even then, he looked so excited he was pulling on his dad’s arm to get into the service.

“William placed a cupped hand on the back of Louis’s head in a gesture of affection but also of calming a child down. But even as he waited to do the greeting rituals with the clergy, Louis crossed one lower leg over the other as though keen to get launched into his Christmas Day.”

This is certainly not the first time Prince Louis to steal the show. During the Trooping the Colour, he was spotted either holding in a sneeze, trying not to openly laugh, or simply reacting to a bad smell.

“When Prince Louis misbehaved at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, for example, by sticking his tongue out at his mother, Kate’s reaction was praised by teams of expert commentators,” author Tom Quinn wrote in his book Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up In The Royal Family.

Although the three of them are still young to be able to understand the real meaning of being royals, at least Louis, they are still expected to follow royal rules and traditions.

During the Trooping the Colour carriage ride, Kate tried calming her children down by an eight-word order: “Do not look behind whilst on the coach.” As William was on horseback, it was Kate who had to govern the children solo.

“She beamed with pride when Louis started miming drumming along with the band in the carriage,” body language expert Judy James said. “Talking to her children, there were a couple of gestures of what looked like guidance about when to wave.

Samir Hussein/WireImage

“There was also a spreading gesture of both hands that would normally mean quite a severe message of when to stop or what not to do, too,” the body language expert added.

Audience in awe as children’s Christmas recital turns into surprising shake dance

Oh, these tiny stars will make you fall in love with the holidays even more. You may think how you’ve seen lovely Christmas performances over the years, but once you get to see these adorable little humans, they will certainly become your number one holiday sensation.

The whole show they put on will make your heart and body dance along. Everyone is having so much fun that we wonder who these concerts are actually made for, the parents, or the kids themselves. This video is perfect for lifting up the holiday spirit and making you enthusiastic about everything it brings along.

We have the most adorable kids, a perfectly decorated stage, some nice costumes, iconic Christmas song, and it seems all this is the key to perfection.

YouTube

It’s obvious from the footage that this performance took place some years ago, but thanks to the social media it went viral again. Maybe the students of the Saint Elizabeth Child care facility in Jersey City, New Jersey that were very little at that time will see themselves now when they are older and it will bring pleasant memories.

It’s so fun how they take the stage one by one, are lined next to each other, but are not really in a perfect sync, which makes them quite adorable. Moving back and forth in different rhythm but still with great enthusiasm, they are the cutest little dancers. It’s adorable how they wave their parents hi when they spot them among the crowd.

YouTube

Although they are only supposed to move along the melody, many of the kids can’t contain themselves from singing out loud. The all time favorite hit “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” is the background song that makes the overall impression stronger.

In 1958, songwriter Johnny Marks wrote the iconic song for Brenda Lee when she was only a 10-year-old girl and whose vocal skills were already considered outstanding.
Some of his other hits are “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Holly Jolly Christmas.”

The song was a quick hit and its position as a Christmas classic is perhaps best cemented by the 1990 film Home Alone in which the main character uses it as the soundtrack to his fake Christmas party meant to scare away the burglars.

YouTube

Seeing the beautiful and innocent kids holding hands and then waving their arms up in the air fills our hearts with joy. As they leave the stage, the proud parents praise them  with loud applause.

Watch the performance in the video below.

People share the worst gifts they’ve ever received

Most people agree that “It is better to give than to receive.” When we give presents to someone we care for, whether it is for a holiday, a birthday, a wedding, or another event, it elicits positive feelings and emotions for both the giver and the receiver.

However, when we choose the perfect gift, we should always consider the true meaning behind it.

Sadly, some people buy gifts for the sake of buying and can’t care less about choosing the perfect present for the person. Sadly, some presents are so horrible, they leave those who receive them in complete shock.

Below are some stories of people sharing the worst gifts they have ever received.

A woman opening a gift | Source: Shutterstock

1. That’s Not My Wishlist!

Shutterstock

u/P0werSurg3: My parents found the Amazon wishlist of someone with the same name as me but NOT me, thought it was a bunch of weird items, and decided NOT to check in with me or any other family member to see if they had the correct list. As a 24-year-old male, that’s how I got a maternity body pillow for Christmas.

2. The Beloved Dog

Shutterstock

u/everyone1hatesme: My mother-in-law gave my 1-year-old daughter her dead dog’s bed as a Christmas present. She said it was for my daughter’s naps.

3. Gifts for the Couple

Shutterstock

u/lunnrais: The very first holiday after my wedding, my MIL sent my wife and me, each separately, the same self-help book on how to survive living with an abusive spouse.

Not how to divorce or anything, but how to live IN the relationship with an abusive spouse. Not just to her, not just to me. To both of us. Two copies of the book.

4. Crockpots Every Year

Shutterstock

u/sevensevensixseven: I received the same crockpot from my ex-husband’s mother three years in a row.

She gifted his new wife one last year. I’m confident this woman has a pallet of crockpots stashed somewhere in her house.

5. The Savage Present

Pexels

u/[deleted]: The Christmas after my mum died, I got an alarm clock as my present. Her husband said it was so I ‘might wake up in the morning now and actually contribute something.’ Still salty eight years later. He’s dead now, though, so who is the real winner?

6. It’s Supposed to Be like That!

Pexels

u/The_Brain_Fuckler: I got a rubber Hulk Hogan figurine (it looked like it was a Christmas ornament with the loop snipped off) glued to a very effeminate toy horse.

An elderly family friend gave it to me and wouldn’t stop mentioning how “they are supposed to look like that; that’s how it came from the store,” even though I didn’t voice any doubts. It’s also kind of the best gift I ever got.

7. Are You Afraid of Clowns?

Shutterstock

u/mayonnaisejane: Clowns. Every year, a new clown. I tried to tell my Abuelito I don’t like clowns. They are weird.

I got a new clown figurine, doll, lamp, picture, or whatever every year for Christmas and birthday. I have BOXES of clowns.

Thankfully, sometime in my mid-twenties, my father managed to divert him to kittens. But that was only after four awkward years when he decided I loved cows. I don’t love cows, either.

On the bright side, since I kept them all on my dresser growing up, I was never afraid of clowns. They’re just background noise to me. I could probably walk into one in a dark alley and just be all, “Oh… it’s just one more clown.”

8. My Uncle’s Gift

Shutterstock

u/ediaNS: My uncle gave me an Xbox Live points card for my birthday. When I went to redeem it, it said, “Card not activated.” This happened two years in a row until my mom told him about it.

9. Is That a Rock?

Shutterstock

u/gennieb7: A few years ago, my aunt gave me a rock. She gave presents to me and my two older cousins and said it was time for the big girls to open their gifts.

She made my cousins go first, and they got scarves. When I opened my present and pulled a rock out of the package, I looked up, waiting for her to laugh.

Instead, she asked, “Isn’t it wonderful?” I said, “Yeah, I love it.” She told me she had dug it out of her garden the previous summer and said she knew I would think it was so cool.

The following year, she gave me acorn tops because “some people know how to use them to whistle, and I don’t know how to show you or explain, but I’m sure you can figure it out.” She is a tad eccentric. Both were pretty terrible presents.

10. One Pair of Socks

Pexels

u/justatypo: The first year at family Christmas with my now-wife, her Nanna gifted me one pair of socks.

The best part was that it was one pair of sports socks you get in a pack of 10. So, she bought a pack and just wrapped one pair for me.

Of course, at the time, I wanted to act super grateful, so I pulled off my current socks super enthusiastically and put on the new ones as soon as I opened them. (I think my socks were actually a little damp from the winter anyway.)

11. The Missing Packages

Shutterstock

u/I_am_paperclip: I had some excess cash when I got home from college. I decided to invest in some new video games for myself and had them sent to my house.

The strange thing was I had only received half of the games. I emailed the suppliers and told them I hadn’t gotten my packages yet and was growing quite sad.

Well, Christmas morning came around, and I was opening up my presents. I got to the one from my older brothers.

I tore the paper away and opened the box. Inside it were several other packages that had been mailed to our house with my name on them.

It turned out my brother had taken half of my games and hid them from me until Christmas… Worst present ever.

12. The Difference in Treatment

Shutterstock

u/77jeep: One Christmas, my millionaire dad and his wife gifted my brother a house and a new Escalade for his family while they gave me a gift card to Men’s Warehouse for $200.

When he turned 40, they gave him $100,000. When I turned 40, they bought me dinner. They provided him with a ‘college fund’ of $250,000.00 for his kids.

When his kids dropped out of high school, they handed him the money to spend on cars, etc. Meanwhile, when my kids (straight A) graduated high school, my father and his wife told me that it was my responsibility to pay for my kids’ education.

Once, when I asked why there was such a difference in treatment, my dad told me I was being ungrateful.

13. You Should Be Grateful!

Shutterstock

u/morgueanna: I was a step-grandchild, and my grandmother sold Avon to feed her QVC addiction. So, while the other six grandchildren got genuine leather jackets, diamond jewelry, motocross lessons, and, one year, an actual motocross bike, I got plastic Avon jewelry.

For reasons too long to list here, I got placed with my grandparents two weeks before Christmas when I was 16.

I watched everyone open their gifts, and then one aunt gave me a Walmart bag with some socks. Another one told me I should be grateful that the family was taking me in instead of leaving me on the street, and that was my present.

Seven aunts and uncles and their spouses, along with my grandparents, and that’s how they treated me in a situation that was out of my control. Needless to say, I don’t talk to my family anymore.

14. Some Bizarre Gifts

Pexels

u/MizSanguine: My brother got a pocketknife wrapped like candy in a small cylinder package (an old toilet paper roll). Excited, I started unwrapping mine that looked similar.

Underwear. There was only underwear inside. And once a bathroom faucet. That is when I knew my childhood was over.

15. Resolidified Chocolate

Pexels

u/SquatChick315: I got expired chocolate on Christmas from an aunt who loved gifting her old presents to others yet always expected expensive, top-notch gifts for her children on Christmas and birthdays.

Not only was the chocolate expired, but it was also evident that it had melted entirely and resolidified.

When I noticed, I went to her and said, “OMG! This chocolate is so good, you have to try it!” in front of the whole family.

I watched her unwrap a piece of chocolate, and when she noticed how it looked, she was hesitant to eat it.

When she looked at me, I just smiled and said, “It’s the best chocolate ever!” Then, I watched her slowly bring it to her mouth and try to eat it.

She quickly walked to the kitchen immediately afterward. I think I’ve only seen her once since that moment almost nine years ago.

16. The Book

Pexels

u/hickory-smoked: My friend’s wife gave me a copy of “A Night Without Armor,” the book of poetry by Jewel. Not that I actively dislike Jewel or anything, but it was so clearly something she saw on a discount gift rack the day of my birthday and said, “Yes, this is an object.”

17. The Cool Ball

Pexels

u/BloodChicken: The only present I got for Christmas was a little light-up ball. You put your finger on the two metal tabs, or you and someone else while holding the other hands, and the ball lights up.

It wasn’t awful, but it was underwhelming. After I figured out what it was and how it worked and tried it with a few people, Dad asked me if he could try, so I said sure.

I passed him the ball, and he immediately threw it on the ground hard enough to break it. “I thought it was a bouncy ball!” he said.

18. That’s My Gameboy!

Shutterstock

u/tall_where_it_counts: When I was about 12 years old, I mowed lawns to earn some money for myself, and I spent many months saving up to buy a Gameboy Advance.

I loved this thing and played it incessantly for hours every day. Two months later, on my little brother’s birthday, my parents bought him a Gameboy Advance game, just the game cartridge. He didn’t have a Gameboy.

I was frustrated because I was forced to share my Gameboy with him, and when I was visibly salty about it, my parents told me to stop being selfish.

It’s not that I didn’t want to share with my brother, but it was unfair that they bought him a gift he could not use without borrowing my prized possession. When I expressed my annoyance, they made me feel guilty about it.

19. Taxidermy Gone Wrong

Pexels

u/Tarsala3791: I received a taxidermied deer hoof with a candle holder stuck where the ankle would be. Only it’s bad taxidermy, so it is constantly shedding a fine white powder on the table.

20. I Was Excited

Shutterstock

u/christinagleas: When I was a wee seven years old, my grandmother placed a long skinny box with my name on it under the Christmas tree about a week before the holiday.

For the next seven days, my small self drooled over the idea of a play baby stroller folded up in that box, just waiting to be filled with various stuffed animals.

On that magical morning, I ripped the box open only to discover it was a VACUUM CLEANER. Not a toy one, either. A real-life, serious, small vacuum cleaner.

My grandmother claimed it was a great idea because “I loved cleaning when I visited her house.” That’s because you’re basically a hoarder, and your house is disgusting, Granny.

21. Cotton Balls in a Bag

Pexels

u/Thewrongbakedpotato: I got a Ziploc bag filled with cotton balls with the words “ghost poos” written on the bag with a Sharpie.

22. My Aunt Was a Re-Gifter

Shutterstock

u/pixierambling: My aunt tried to re-gift me a bracelet and earrings I had bought for her a few months earlier. It was insulting to hear, “Oh Pixie! I got these ESPECIALLY for you!” in a saccharine voice.

The funny part is that she forgot we even gave it to her, considering my brother and I were the only people in the family who remembered her birthday and even bothered to do anything about it.

23. My Brother’s Present

u/[deleted]: My brother gave me a hand turkey that he drew minutes earlier for Christmas. This would have been okay if he was five or something. He was 21 years old. I framed it and gifted it back to him the following year.

24. Box of peanut butter cup cookies

Getty Images

Deleted user: My father-in-law gave me a box of peanut butter cup cookies, but the package didn’t mention peanuts anywhere. He pretended to forget about my severe peanut allergy.

I saw him laughing as my husband rushed me to the hospital. I GOT MY CRUEL REVENGE! Three days later, I received tons of angry texts from my furious mother-in-law.

At that moment, my husband burst into the room, his face red, yelling, ‘WHAT DID YOU DO TO DAD’S CAR?’ I had secretly filled it with dozens of air fresheners – the one scent he absolutely despises.

He couldn’t even sit in it without gagging. My husband was fuming, but I calmly explained it was a taste of his own medicine. Now, both our families are in a standoff, but I feel my point was made loud and clear.

25. A plastic pig

Shutterstock

Deleted user: Every New Year’s since I was 6, my stepmom has given me a plastic pig. Yes, a pig. Every. Single. Year. I always acted surprised because she has some mental health issues, and I didn’t want to upset her.

But this year, my sister couldn’t take it anymore. She: “Are you seriously still clueless?” Me: “Clueless about what?” She: “Check the underside of the pig.” I looked, and my heart just stopped.

There was a tiny note – “Just because it’s funny!” Every year, it turns out, my stepmom thought it was a hilarious joke to give the same odd gift. There was no deeper meaning, no secret treasure, just a quirky sense of humor that I never quite understood.

Well, a gift is a gift, no matter what it is. Have you ever received a gift you despised? If yes, share your story in the comment section below.

Morgan Freeman finally reveals why he wears gold hoop earrings, and the answer is not as lighthearted as you may think

It’s safe to say that actor Morgan Freeman is everyone’s favorite. Besides his unbeatable acting skills, he’s also known for his distinguishing deep voice and the freckles on his face.

Over the span of 50 years he’s played plenty of roles in a number of memorable films such as Street Smart in 1986, The Shawshank Redemption in 1994, and Invictus in 2014, all of which brought him Oscar nominations. He, however, received the prestigious award for his role in Million Dollar Baby in 2005.

Freeman’s path to fame didn’t come easy to him. In fact, he didn’t get his big break in Hollywood until Street Smart. Today, however, he has an impressive number of acting accolades under his belt.

Another thing Freeman is recognized for are his golden hoop earrings that he never takes off.

According to the actor, he got the earrings inspired by Burt Lancaster, who wore a pair in a pirate movie, probably 1952’s The Crimson Pirate. “I thought that was sexy. Then I learned that sailors wore gold earrings to pay for funerals if they died in foreign lands. I’m a sailor, so that nailed it,” Freeman told Fox News in 2016.

He also revealed that he has been questioned about the earrings many times throughout the years and that’s why he decided to share the story behind them and their significance to him.

“I’m constantly questioned about them. The fact is that my possessions are only valuable enough for someone to purchase a casket for me in the improbable event that I die somewhere unknown. That’s why I wear them, and why sailors do as well,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Freeman has a net worth of $250 million.

At the 2023 Oscars, Freeman was spotted wearing a black glove on his left hand. And as those unaware of the real reason for it believed it was just a stylistic preference, Freeman’s fans knew the actor was wearing the glove because of the bad accident he was involved in years ago.

Namely, back in 2008, Freeman injured his arm while driving home late one night when his car veered off the road and flipped several times before coming to an eventual stop in a ditch.

Paramedics arrived quickly and he was conscious but needed to be transferred to a Memphis hospital located over 100 miles away from the scene of the crash.

Freeman ended up with a couple of broken ribs and was forced to undergo a four-hour long surgery for his hand.

Though he mostly recovered, the Shawshank Redemption star was left with a lasting physical nerve damage in his left hand known as fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, his arm was left paralyzed.

Jane Fonda makes surprising admission about dating rule at 85 which has angered a lot of people

Jane Fonda is 85, but when it comes to dating, she would always choose someone younger to be by her side.

And as some would say she has the right to date whomever she wants, there are also those who slam her for her recent comment that if she were “to take a lover, he’d have to be 20.”

At her age, the famous actress is still as active as ever and serves as an inspiration for many young women who dream of following into her footsteps and making a name for themselves.

Of course, some might say that having Henry Fonda as a father, Jane had it easy, but the reality is that this incredible actress reached her celeb status thanks to her hard work and her undeniable talent.

Jane had her acting debut back in 1960 in the Broadway play There Was a Little Girl. For this performance, she earned herself her first Tony nomination. From that moment on, she landed plenty of roles and cemented her place under the Hollywood sky.

Shutterstock

She’s also a cancer survivor. Last year, she took to Instagram to share with her fans that she had started chemo treatments six months ago and is dealing well.

“So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share. I’ve been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have started chemo treatments,” the Grace and Frankie star wrote in her Instagram post. “This is a very treatable cancer,” she added, “so I feel very lucky.”

She further acknowledged her ‘lucky’ position because as she said, she realizes she’s privileged when it comes to having access to the best doctors and treatments. “I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I realize, and it’s painful, that I am privileged in this,” she wrote.

“Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another and far too many don’t have access to the quality health care I am receiving and this is not right,” the actress added.

“Cancer is a teacher and I’m paying attention to the lessons it holds for me,” she wrote. “One thing it’s shown me already is the importance of community. Of growing and deepening one’s community so that we are not alone. And the cancer, along with my age – almost 85 – definitely teaches the importance of adapting to new realities.”

This wasn’t the first time Fonda to be battling cancer. Back in 2010, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in 2018, she had a growth removed from her lips. Luckily, she’s now doing well.

Over the course of her life, Jane was married three times. In 1965, she married French filmmaker Roger Vadim. Their union lasted for three years. The couple share a daughter, Vanessa, who was born in September 1968.

She then wed politician and activist Tom Hayden (1973 to 1990) and with him welcomed her son Troy Garity, born July 1973.

Her third marriage, to media mogul Ted Turner, lasted until 2001.

Shutterstock

Her relationship with record producer Richard Perry ended in 2017, after eight years of dating.

As of now, she’s single and happy.

“Marriage is f—ing hard!” she told People. “You have to understand nobody is perfect…And you have to decide: Can I live with this? Can we work with each other on this or is this a deal-breaker? Force yourself to notice if there are any red flags. My life would be very different if I’d noticed red flags.”

Recently, Jane appeared on the podcast Absolutely Not and spoke to comedian Heather McMahan about her love life. In it, the Barefoot in the Park actor said, “I’m ashamed to say this, but if I were to take a lover, he’d have to be 20.”

@dearmedia Keep it fresh, keep it tight for @Jane Fonda #oldskin #youngerman #janefonda #janefondatok #relationshipadvice #absolutelynot #podcastclips ♬ original sound – Dear Media

When asked, “why specifically 20?” the actress responded, “Because I don’t like old skin,” causing the host to break into laughter.

Pulling herself together, the comedian then said, “I’m right there with you. I’m doing everything I can to keep it fresh.”

Many of the fans praised her for her humor and talent. “Jane Fonda can say this lol she’s the goat,” one user quipped. “Y’all are not about to try and cancel Jane plz, she’s being funny,” another added.

Some online users took her statement as an invitation. “I’m here Jane,” one wrote.

“Dammit, why [do I have] to be 30?” another wrote. “So you’re telling me there’s a chance…” a third added.

Shutterstock

However, there were some who weren’t at all impressed by the actress’ comment.

“What about if the 20-year-old doesn’t like old skin?” one cyberfan asked.

“20? I’m not even half her age and I think 20 is too young for my age,” a second user wrote.

Her fans stood by her side and said they couldn’t understand how some don’t get her sense of humor.

“Love Jane Fonda, she’s completely joking around,” someone wrote, while another added, “Y’all don’t know Jane Fonda jokes around?”

Shutterstock

The thing is that Jane spoke of this in the past and said how she has a thing about skin so we aren’t certain if she was joking or she was telling her honest opinion.

Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar in 2021, she explained “…the problem is that, like a man, I would want a younger man. Isn’t that awful? It’s a thing about skin. I would want a younger man, and I’m too vain.”

Cameron Diaz admits to feeling ‘whole’ again after retiring from Hollywood

When we first saw her in the now-classic movie The Mask, then 21-year-old Cameron Diaz took our breath away. Many kept wondering where the blonde beauty was “hiding” until then. From that moment on, however, she turned into American sweetheart we all love so much.

Prior to getting her first acting role, Diaz worked as a model. At the age of 16, she signed with Elite Model Agency and traveled the world doing shows and commercials for famous names in the fashion industry, including Calvin Klein and Levi’s.

Once she landed the role in The Mask, opposite Jim Carey, she needed to take some acting classes. For someone without any experience in the field, she nailed it.

Diaz became a celebrity almost overnight. All of a sudden, every director and producer wanted her in their movies. She continued being part of a number of romantic comedies, as well as critically acclaimed movies such as Being John Malkovich and Oliver Stone’s sports drama Any Given Sunday.

After receiving many awards and nominations, and a star on the Walk of Fame, just at the height of her career, Diaz made a decision many considered shocking. She left Hollywood, and it looks like it is for good.

Diaz opened up about this decision in an interview with Kevin Hart, during which she said that not being under the spotlight any longer gives her a chance to manage her life the way she wants.

“For me, I just really wanted to make my life manageable by me. My routine in a day is literally what I can manage to do by myself,” she said on his show ‘Hart to Heart.’

“I think you probably can relate to this,” she added.

“When you do something at a really high level for a really long period of time, there’s a lot that — when you’re the person who’s sort of delivering on this one thing. You’re the person on the screen, you’re the person who’s ‘the talent’ — everything around you, all parts of you that isn’t that, has to be handed off to other people.”

Today, she’s focused on another career. She and business partner Katherine Power launched an organic wine brand Avaline.

But, most of all, the Charlie’s Angels star is focused on the best role in her life, that of being a mother. Motherhood was the best thing that has ever happened to her. Speaking to People, she explained that her baby girl Raddix, who was welcomed into the world in December 2019, is what she has been waiting for her whole life. Giving birth after 40, Diaz, who’s now 49, gave new hope to women who gave up on trying to get pregnant and have a baby.

She and her husband, musician Benji Madden, the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the band Good Charlotte, make the cutest couple and are described by their friends as “the perfect team” for parenting. As for Diaz, she says that having Raddix is way better than she has ever imagined.

She and Benji tied the knot back in 2015 and were introduced to each other by Nicole Richie, who is married to Benji’s twin brother. The moment she laid eyes on him, Diaz felt instant connection. She revealed to Hola.com what her first thought was, saying, “I saw him walking towards me and I was like, ‘Huh, he’s hot. I haven’t seen him before. Oh, you, you, you’re special. You’re the guy. You’re the hidden gem in my life.’”

Although we miss seeing her on TV and new projects, we are happy Cameron Diaz is living her life the way she wants. She is happy and fulfilled, and that’s what matters the most.

Poor father was almost in tears while explaining his personal problem to the salesman

This inspirational story took place some years ago, or in 2004 to be exact. It was shared by a man who explained how a simple encounter with a father and son turned into a meaningful event for the three.

The man explained that he was working at a sporting goods/automotive store at the time, at the customer service, when the father and the son walked inside the store and said they were looking for some camping equipment. The man pointed towards the gear when he heard the boy exclaiming, “I’m going on my first Boy Scout camp out!”

Shutterstock

Now, if you’ve read my other stories, you’ll know that I’m an Eagle Scout, the man continued. I take this position very seriously, and will do everything in my power to encourage and help young scouts on their trail to Eagle. So I looked over at my boss, a nice lady who hired me because of my outdoor experience in scouting, and asked if I could go help these people personally. She smiled and said yes.

The father was COMPLETELY out of his element with camping gear. By his attitude and behavior I would guess that he had never gotten further out of the city limits than a highway in his life. Everything in the aisle perplexed him, but thankfully his son’s troop had given them a list of what equipment they’d need. So for about 20 minutes or so I went through the list with them, point by point, explaining what each thing was, what it did, what version to use, and how Kybo Tape is the scout term for toilet paper. That got quite a bit of laughter.

During this time I also talked with the kid. He was very new to scouting, only having joined a couple months prior. He was enthusiastic about getting to go out into the wilderness and camp and make campfires and fish and all the other activities he’d heard about. I talked about my experiences in scouting, which was all of what he was talking about and so much more. Climbing Mt Hood, going to National Jamboree, touring military bases, rafting down the Deschutes, the kid was very impressed. I kept telling him, “this is only the start, you have no idea how awesome it can get.”

So we finally have a cart filled with a small tent, sleeping bag, cooking equipment, small first aid kit, beginner backpack, rope, shovel, water bottle, etc. Quite a haul, but I’d done my best to get everything that the kid would need while still keeping things cheap. Well, cheap-ish.

The total was something like a bit over $200. Now, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, but if I could have taken a picture of the dad’s face when the total came up, it would be worth a MUCH longer essay. It was a shock/fear/resignation combination that said, “damn, I didn’t expect it to be this much. But he’s so excited, I can’t tell him no, it would break his heart. Maybe if I just eat Ramen for the next couple weeks, I can afford this.” As dad reached reluctantly for his wallet, I flashed him a smile, looked at my boss, and knocked 20% off the total. “A scout is helpful and kind,” I quoted. The father thanked me profusely, as did the son. They left with a spring in their step and smiles on their faces. My boss said, “that was very nice, but don’t ever do that again.” I replied, “but boss, you do realized that, from now on, they are going to be in here on a regular basis to buy camping equipment, right? I know that kid’s look, he’s just like me at that age, and he’s going to be spending a LOT of dad’s money here.” She laughed, agreed, and the deed was put out of my mind as other customers approached.

But the story isn’t done yet, dear reader! For about a week later, look who comes running through the door, but our little first-time camper, with dad trailing along. This kid very specifically wanted to see ME, because he had pictures and he wanted to show them to me. Awwww, sweet! Sure, let’s take a look…hey, I know this camp! I know exactly where you were! So we talked about being at that camp, and taking the hike down the hill to the old camp location, and how the fishing in the lake is, and the deer that just don’t care that you are around, and how the chow hall seems to be made mostly of sieves given how drafty it is. We had a brag board up for the hunters who had trophy hunts, so I pinned a couple of the better pictures to the board. This kid beamed with pride, then ran off to use the bathroom.

This is when dad chimed in, and thanked me for a much more personal reason. He and the kid’s mom had gone through a fairly nasty divorce, and she had majority custody. Scouting events were one of the few ways that dad could spend extended quality time with his son, and this camping trip had been very good for the both of them. He got a little choked up about it, as did I. I simply told him, “this is what scouting is all about. ‘Help other people at all times.’ This is just the tip of the iceberg.”

Over the next year+, they became regulars of the store. I knew which troop they were with, a large and active one, so they were pretty consistently in need of various consumable camping supplies. More pictures got posted to the brag board. His first summer camp saw him earn four merit badges and the Mile Swim badge. I started to volunteer with his troop as a merit badge counselor, and had a great time.

However, real life gets in the way. School, and a couple of new jobs meant I couldn’t devote the time I needed to to help his troop out. We basically drifted apart, and the other things going on in my life made me forget about him and his dad.

Until late in 2010. I get a phone call out of the blue. The voice on the other end is deeper, self-confident. “Is _____ there?” “Yeah, that’s me, who is this?” It’s that young scout from the store, calling me up to invite me to his Eagle Court of Honor. I stood there in my kitchen in mute shock. All those memories of helping him out came flooding back. “You better believe I’ll be there. I’ll even try to fit into my old uniform.”

And so I did. Though I eschewed the shorts and went for pants. This young boy, now turned into a young man, stood tall and proud as they pinned the Eagle Medal to his shirt, recited the Eagle Charge, and gave a short speech thanking people who’d made a difference in his life. He looked right at me as he gave the speech, pointed me out, and said, “this guy right here, he was the first adult to encourage me. His example as an Eagle was what I followed. I cannot thank him enough.” Tears flowed.

Shutterstock

Following the ceremony, I found his dad. Scouting had made both of them better people. He’d decided that being bitter towards his kid’s mom wasn’t what a scout leader (oh yeah, he was now an assistant scoutmaster, the bug bites very hard) should be doing. This had allowed their divorce to become more amicable, and they had successfully renegotiated custody some time earlier. He was a happier man, and was so proud of his son I was pretty sure his chest was going to burst. His son, now tall, strong, confident, and an obvious leader, was destined to go places. He would be graduating high school the next spring, and was looking at getting into college for a degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. He wanted to live his Oath and Law by being a police officer. My own chest felt like it was going to burst at this point.

I still keep in touch with him. He’s now coming up on his 21st birthday, and is readying applications for various police departments around town. I’ve already told him that I’d gladly be his reference, because he’s one of the guys we all want to become a cop, someone with a strong and steadfast sense of duty, honor, integrity, generosity, and kindness of spirit. He’ll make a damn fine officer, and I can say that a little part of that, just a little part, is because of my willingness to help him choose tents one day several years ago.

People claim McDonald’s knows something we don’t after opening store in middle of nowhere without electricity

Being one of the most famous and most wide-spread chain of restaurants, McDonald’s is the first choice of many when it comes to fast food.

Most of its restaurants are located in populated areas. Well, nearly all of them.

Recently, McDonald’s sparked controversy after someone noticed they are opening a restaurant at a remote place with no electricity at 8075 Avenue Marcel-Villeneuve in Saint-François, Laval, Quebec.

“Officially open for business. Our staff awaits you at our new restaurant at 8075 Marcel-Villeneuve, Laval,” the restaurant wrote on Facebook.

McDonalds’ Jéremy Lévy shared the excitement over the new location, saying: “I am delighted to be involved with the community of Saint-François on the occasion of this opening. Growing up with a father who is also a McDonald’s franchisee, I have had the opportunity to see him actively involved in the communities in which he operates his restaurants.

“Today, I am very excited to follow in his footsteps and get involved in the same way.”

The new restaurant vent viral after a TikTok user filmed it and shared it on the social media. @thumbs.up.canuck. expressed his confusion regarding the location. “It’s literally in the middle of farm field. It’s surrounded by farm, and there’s not even electricity yet. They’re running the damn place on a generator! That’s crazy!” he could be heard saying.

In no time, the video was re-shared by a huge number of users who started a series of speculations and conspiracy theories.

Most claimed that McDonald’s Canada Corporate offices know something the rest of the world doesn’t know and they are hiding it from us.

“Then you know what’s coming, they wouldn’t put it there for nothing,” one person said.

Another added, “In two years it will be surrounded by houses strategically planned.”

A third claimed, “All the surrounding farms are about to be purchased and sold to developers.”

It is probably true that the area would soon become populated, and McDonald’s would be the first company to be operating there.

Martin Lewis issues urgent warning to couples who live together but aren’t married

Martin Lewis, the MoneySavingExpert.com founder, discuss “unpleasant” money issues, such as the one related to one’s assets after their passing.

Lewis explained that when a person dies their spouse is entitles to their belongings, but the same isn’t true if the couple wasn’t legally married. So, unmarried couples don’t possess automatic rights to their partner’s assets in the event of death no matter how long they had been together or whether they have children or not.

This, however, can change in case of existence of a will, which represents a legally binding document.

“A special point to anyone who is cohabiting – you’re not married and you’re not a civil partner. If you’ve been living together for 30 years and you’ve got nine children, it still means nothing in law, when it comes to a will,” he said on his Martin Lewis Money Show Live broadcast on ITV.

“Your partner wouldn’t get anything under the intestacy rules which dictate what happens when you die without a will. A will is crucially important to you.”

In case of a passing of a person who hadn’t left a will, their estate is distributed under intestacy rules, meaning those who inherit are the married or civil partner and some close relatives only.

In England and Wales, for example, the married partner is the first to inherit. Based on intestacy rules, they receive initial £322,000 of the estate. If the value is higher, then the spouse gets half of the remaining assets and the rest is divided among surviving children.

According to Lewis, the best way to settle who inherits what is to get a gold standard solicitor-drafted will. Further, he provides information on where and how to get this for free.

Free Wills Month is held twice a year, in March and October, for those aged over 55 and provides a free will in return for a charitable donation after death. The donations are around £300 to £500.

Will Aid, which happens annually, encourages donations to charities for basic “mirror wills” in a similar manner as Free Wills Month.

Basically, Lewis’ advice is that every person, married or not, should have a will.

I jokingly wrote a message on my husband’s chest before his work Christmas party

Travis was to attend the work Christmas party, but knowing that he’s a light drinker, his wife, Micaela, decided to do something fun that the could could laugh about later.

On his chest, she wrote, “This is my husband—touch him, and you’ll pay- M.”

Her husband got ready and headed to the party, assuring her he would be home early. She wished him to have fun and couldn’t wait to see if someone would actually read the message.

However, the following morning, she was stunned to see that someone added, “Keep the change,” under her writing.

At first, she thought someone was pranking her, but as she wasn’t as ease, she decided to seek advice from her mother.

Her mother told her that she should follow Travis, just to make sure he wasn’t actually cheating on her, and that’s exactly what Micaela did.

She tracked Travis’ car with a GPS, and suspicions arose when she noticed he wasn’t going to work one day as he claimed, but headed to another direction.

Micaela followed after him. When he entered an apartment, she was quick to enter the place as well, seeing her husband with another woman.

“So, you’re the woman who left a message on my husband?” she asked. The other woman didn’t seem too concerned, and simply said, “Husbands like this deserve to be treated like spare change.”

That incident marked the beginning of the end of Micaela’s marriage to Travis. She was aware she deserved better than that and filed for divorce.

Eventually, she met someone new and is now happier than ever.

Below are some of the comments under Micaela’s story of how she caught her husband cheating.

Kate Middleton recalls ‘nerve-wracking’ hospital visits with Prince George and his siblings

Before Christmas, the Princess of Wales visited the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. While meeting the children, she recalled some of the ‘nerve-wracking’ hospital visits that involved her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Kate Middleton is heavily involved with a number of charities. She’s also the host of plenty of meaningful events which take place throughout the year. Among them is the Carol service at Westminster Abbey which the Princess hosts on December 8 for the third year in a row. The event then airs on TV on Christmas Eve.

This year, “the service will be a moment to thank all those who work to support babies, young children, and families in our communities across the UK and a celebration of the golden opportunity that the birth of a new baby brings,” the Palace announced.

The event significantly adds to the Princess’ popularity. “What Kate has done brilliantly is elevating her status and position within the broader royal family brand. Having a slot on Christmas Eve, it’s evidence of her appeal,” PR expert Andrew Bloch told Mirror.

As expected, the royal children were in attendance. The three siblings shared their messages and wishes for children who might be struggling with Christmas by writing them down and placing them in a special card box. They also got to enjoy singers Beverley Knight and Adam Lamberg perform.

Their outfits were impeccable as always, but one thing that caught the attention of many was Prince George’s height.

“I know perspective distorts but isn’t George getting tall!” one person wrote.

Another added, “How fast Prince George is growing!”

“Prince George is so tall, Princess Charlotte’s hair is so long, and I can’t believe Prince Louis is only 5 years old,” a third stated.

As children grow up and attend events, there is a concern that they are overexposed, especially Prince George.

“[Kate and William] are wisely concerned at any overexposure of him [George] and of Charlotte and Louis,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.

“The younger they are, the more likely they are to steal the show with childish antics which get publicized worldwide and make the monarchy seem more relatable,” he said. Mr Fitzwilliams added that George is a particular focus of attention due to him being second-in-line to the throne.

“Whether as Page of Honour at the Coronation or blowing bubbles on a visit to Canada, whatever he does as he is the future king is of interest. We are fed titbits, that George enjoys dancing, plays tennis or likes a pizza, and we get regular photographs of him on special occasions and see him at certain royal events,” Fitzwilliams concluded, adding that William and Kate “are well aware of the need for him and his siblings to have privacy as they grow up.”

The children, however, are expected to attend certain events, some more important than other.

A few weeks ago, Kate brought her children to a project helping families facing poverty this Christmas in Holyport near Maidenhead during which they volunteered at a “baby bank.”

George, Charlotte, and Louis helped pick out the toys children would receive for the holiday.

A video that Kensington Palace posted said “a quarter of families with a child under five” in the UK are living in poverty.

“There’s lots of people who give up their time and come and help out – and you’re the volunteers for this evening,” Kate told her children.

Rebecca Mistry, the baby bank’s co-founder, told George, Charlotte, and Louis, “What we would like you to do, is try and choose some presents for some children who are a similar age to you guys.”

Youtube/theprinceandprincessofwales

In the past, late Princess Diana did the same. She used to take Harry and William to charity events where they volunteered and felt like valuable members of the community.

This is probably the reason why helping others have become something William keeps close to his heart.

“When I left this morning, one of the things I was thinking was, ‘When is the right time to bring George or Charlotte or Louis to a homeless organization?’ I think when I can balance it with their schooling, they will definitely be exposed to it,” William told The Times.

“On the school run, we talk about what we see. When we were in London, driving backwards and forwards, we regularly used to see people sitting outside supermarkets, and we’d talk about it.”

Prince William added: “I’d say to the children, ‘Why are they there? What’s going on?’ I think it’s in all our interests, it’s the right thing to do, to expose the children, at the right stage, in the right dialogue, so they have an understanding. They [will] grow up knowing that actually, do you know what, some of us are very fortunate, some of us need a little bit of a helping hand, some of us need to do a bit more where we can to help others improve their lives.”

Charlotte Graham-WPA Pool/Getty Images

Both William and Kate can teach their children a lot about volunteering.

Since 2018, Kate has been the patron of Evelina London Children’s Hospital and she was now given the pleasure to open their new Children’s Day Surgery Unit.

At the hospital, Kate got the chance to speak to some of the children there, as well as with their families.

In a conversation with a family whose child was to be operated, she shared how she felt every time any of her children needed a hospital visit.

“It’s always nerve-wracking as a parent. I’ve taken mine into hospital for different things. You’re always at least worried, but you’ve got a great team [here],” Princess Kate said, as per Hello! Magazine.

“It’s always a worry, though, for a parent. We have to keep our cool. It’s so hard,” she added.

Kate is truly a very special individual. It doesn’t come as a surprise that she’s loved by millions.

I dumped the man I really liked on our first date despite him offering to pay for whole $400 dinner

First dates can either be memorable or disastrous experience. For one woman, her first date to a man she found sweet, handsome, and intelligent, turned into something she never expected only because of a mean comment he made.

She started her post writing, “After years of being single due to my workaholic lifestyle, a friend played matchmaker and connected me with Alex. Initial conversations made him seem perfect, sweet, handsome, working as an architect with a great sense of humor. Our first dinner at his favorite childhood chain restaurant took an unexpected turn when the $400 bill arrived.”

During the night, the two spoke about their lives and she revealed that she’s been saving money in order to be able to study medicine and become a surgeon.

So, when the bill arrived, she offered to contribute $200, but he insisting on treating.

Eventually, she agreed and even found his act very generous, but then, he suggested that she uses the money she was saving for breast enlargement surgery.

“Stunned, I composed myself and fired back, highlighting the audacity of his comment and recommending a ‘brain-increasing’ procedure for him. Walking out, I left $200 on the table,” the woman explained.

“Later, I learned Alex was banned from the entire restaurant chain due to our waiter’s connection. His attempts to justify the inappropriate comment, coupled with a misguided effort to get me fired, revealed his mean-spirited nature. The experience taught me to stand up against disrespect and served as a cautionary tale,” she added.

This date didn’t stop her from believing that she would eventually find the one, because she knows that not all men share Alex’s demeanor.

What are your thoughts on this? Did she do the right thing?

Fans spot worrying detail in new photo of Martha Stewart, 82 – and everyone’s saying the same thing

When we think of powerful and successful women, one of the names that comes to mind is that of Martha Stewart.

Besides being a well-known TV personality, she’s also a self-made billionaire, a writer, a businesswoman, and a former fashion model.

Being 82 doesn’t stop this incredible woman from living her life to the fullest.

Last year, she posed for the cover of Sports Illustrated in daring swimsuits and attracted the attention of many. She was praised for her bravery, her incredible figure, and the positivity she spread.

However, during her recent trip to the east coast of Greenland, she posted some photos and one of them made her fans mad.

It shows Stewart enjoying a cocktail, and the caption says, “End of the first zodiac cruise from @swanhelleniccruises into a very beautiful fjord on the east coast of greenland. We actually captured a small iceberg for our cocktails tonight.”

Her intention wasn’t probably to anger her fans with the word “small iceberg” for her drink, but it did evoke the ire of her followers.

In no time, comments started pouring in under her post with people hitting out at the fact that she’d referenced a small iceberg when the “ice caps are melting.”

“Martha the ice caps are melting don’t put them in your drink,” one Instagram user wrote.

Another added: “I generally love Martha and the excesses of her life because he’s about beautiful gardens, homes, and food, but wealthy white people drinking their iceberg cocktails while the planet is in flames is a bit tone deaf.

“So as the climate warms due to the profits of a couple thousand people, billionaires vacation to the melting icebergs, scoop them up and use them to keep their cocktails cold. That sounds like a line from a dystopian novel. Can’t make this shit up lol,” a third quipped.

Global warming and melting ice caps but we need glacier ice for cocktails?! Talk about tone def. Been a fan for years but I’ve seen enough caviar lately as I struggle to buy groceries that I’m out,” said a fourth.

In general, Martha is someone who is widely loved by many.

Speaking of the cover on Sports Illustrated for which she posed, she said on the Today show, “I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple of months.

“I went to Pilates every other day, and that was great; I’m still going to Pilates every other day ’cause it’s so great. And I just, I live a clean life anyway – good diet and good exercise and healthy skincare and all of that stuff.”

She also commented how fans responded to the “authentic” cover during her keynote speech at the Las Vegas event.

“The response to it was really encouraging because it made women of all ages feel like, ‘If she can do it, then I can do it too,’” Stewart noted.

Teenage girl vanishes, reappears 10 years later on family’s doorstep & points finger at stepfather

Laura woke up the morning after she returned from a business trip and saw her husband was still asleep. As usual, she went to the kitchen to make herself coffee, but before that, she went to check on her daughter Emily who was supposed to be in her room, sleeping.

When Laura entered Emily’s room, the bed was perfectly made and everything was well organized but Emily wasn’t there. After checking the bathroom and the rest of the house and realizing her daughter was nowhere to be seen, Laura panicked.

This wasn’t the first time that Emily wasn’t home. Being a teenager who wanted to hang out with her friends and attend parties, she sneaked out before, but Laura’s gut was telling her that it was different this time.

“Rick, wake up!” Laura returned to their bedroom and tried to wake up her husband, who was Emily’s stepfather. “Emily’s missing!”

“Let me sleep, Laura,” Richard replied with groggy. “She’s a teen. She must have snuck out to meet those friends of hers. Relax.”

“This is serious, Rick. Her room is spick and span! This isn’t like Emily!”

Richard, however, didn’t seem too concerned probably because he believed Emily would appear any time soon.

But Laura knew something wasn’t right, and just when she returned to the kitchen she received a text message which read, “If you want your daughter alive, bring $100,000 to the address below…”

The entire situation went from bad to worse and everything felt like a bad dream.

Laura immediately called the police. In no time, a group of cops and detectives were at Laura’s door. She explained to them what was going on and they assured her everything would be alright and that they’d do all in their power to find her daughter.

When the cops arrived, Richard woke up and went downstairs.

“Laura? What’s going on? What are cops doing here?”

“Someone kidnapped Emily!” she replied tremblingly. “The kidnapper is demanding ransom.”

“Are you sure it isn’t one of Emily’s games?” he asked as he joined her in the living room.

“Of course it’s not, Rick!” she cried. “We have to find her!”

The cops, Laura, and Richard entered Emily’s room.

“Anything missing from here?” Detective Harris asked Laura and Richard.

“The carpet!” Laura now noticed. “It’s not here.”

“You got any idea about it?” Detective Harris looked at Richard.

“Uh, yeah, I took it to the dry cleaner,” Richard replied.

Detective Harris made a note. “I’ll need the dry cleaner’s address, please.”

“Yeah, I’ll get it. One second,” Richard said and left the room.

At that moment, Laura received another text message that read, “If you involve the cops, you’ll never see your daughter again.”

For illustration purposes only | Source: Shutterstock

“Let’s drop the ransom, Mrs. Dennings,” Detective Harris suggested. “We can set up around the drop-off location. It’s the best chance of getting your daughter back and catching the kidnapper.”

“No way!” Richard protested as he returned with the address. “That’s too risky. We should just give the ransom, and then maybe the bad guys will let her go.”

“But Richard, what if they take the money and run away?” Laura shook her head. “No. I think the detectives are right.”

A decision was made for undercover officers to be positioned around the ransom drop-off point.

The following day, Laura drove to the drop-off point and her only hope was to see her daughter. She waited and kept looking at the rear-view mirror of the car, but no one approached the oak tree where she placed the money. When the night came, the detective knocked on the car’s window and told Laura to go home because the kidnapper probably change their mind.

Devastated, Laura returned home and went straight to Emily’s room. She then noticed the carpet was there.

“Doesn’t the carpet look like it’s new?” her husband asked her.

Laura kneeled on the carpet. It was a carpet Emily chose herself just a few months ago.

“How could it be so new?” Laura asked confused.

“A good cleaner can do wonders, honey,” Richard replied almost too quickly.

Ten years have gone by, and there was no sign of Emily. Everyone moved on and got used to the fact that she won’t be coming back. Everyone but Laura. This mother could never stop hoping that she would see her daughter again. She never stopped trying and praying to God for Emily’s safe return.

One day, Laura got the idea to place banners with Emily’s face on them around the city. She visited an agency and told the woman working there her story. The two agreed to place three huge banners at the busiest streets in the city.

“The design was simple—a blown-up version of Emily’s photograph, her smile frozen in time, and the words ‘Forever missed, forever loved’ in bold, impossible-to-ignore letters. Beneath that, ‘If you know something, say something,’ followed by a hotline number.”

Richard wasn’t happy that Laura placed the banners. He accused her of wasting their money. “All our savings are gone, Laura! Just because you plastered her face all across the city!” he told her.

But at that particular moment, there was a knock on the door.

Laura went to see who it might be. The moment she opened the door, she was left completely stunned. A young woman was standing on the front porch. Although ten years passed by, she immediately recognized her daughter.

It was Emily.

“Yeah, Mom! I’m home!” Emily said and then pulled away and raised her one arm to show the carpet she was holding. “This was all I had, Mom,” she said. “And I kept it.”

“Who’s there?” Richard’s loud voice could be heard from the inside of the house.

As he approached the front door and noticed Emily standing there he went pale.

“What’s wrong, Richard?” Emily sneered. “You see a ghost? He’s the one responsible for my disappearance, Mom!” Emily pointed at Richard.

“What? That’s nonsense!” Richard cried in his defense.

“Come inside, Emily,” Laura said. As Emily entered, Laura closed the front door. She looked from her daughter to her husband. What was going on?

“She’s lying, Laura!” Richard yelled. “Don’t listen to her! She’s trying to tear us apart!”

“Tell me everything, Emily!” Laura insisted, ignoring Richard.

Ten years ago…

On the day of Emily’s disappearance, Laura was on a business trip and she was left with Richard.

When she returned home from school, Richard was watching TV and invited Emily to sit next to him so that they could watch the show together. She didn’t want to, but he insisted.

Scared, she sat next to him, but she then became aware of her stepdad touching her skirt’s hem. “Nice skirt,” he commented, and Emily became even more scared than before.

At one moment, he offered to unbutton her shirt and said, “Come on, Emily. You’ve grown, and it’s not like you don’t want me.”

Emily yelled “Get away!” and ran straight to her room but Richard followed her. “You don’t need to be scared, Emily!” He smirked.

“What are you doing here? Get out! This is my room!” she cried. “Leave, Richard, or I’ll tell Mom everything!”

Richard burst out laughing. “And who do you think she’ll believe? A grown man or her over-imaginative daughter?”

“She’ll believe me! I know my mom!” Emily confidently yelled. She then rushed to grab her phone, but Richard pushed her away.

Emily felt sharp pain in the head and saw blood dropping on the carpet. The next moment, she blacked out.

Without even checking if she was still alive, Richard wrapped her body in the carpet and placed her in the back of his truck. He then started the truck and when he reached the river, he threw Emily there.

When he returned home, he cleaned the place so that Laura wouldn’t suspect that he’s involved in her daughter’s disappearance.

Present day…

“A couple of fishermen found me, Mom,” Emily continued. “I was in a neighboring town. A kind family there took me in. They also tried to find my family, but I didn’t remember my past. It was only when I returned here and saw my face on the billboards that I recalled everything—My home, you, and the terrible…night!”

“Stop it, Emily! You’re accusing me after all I have done for you guys?” Richard screamed.

But Laura was certain her daughter was telling the truth.

She called the cops and a DNA analysis was later done to determine of the blood on the carpet was Emily’s. It didn’t come as a surprise when the results confirmed it was.

Some months later, Richard was sentenced to prison.

We are so happy Emily was finally able to return home after the ordeal she’s gone through.

Marine guard ignores little boy, then people notice what he does with his left hand

Founded in 1947 by reservist Major Bill Hendricks, Toys for Tots represents a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose families cannot afford to buy them gifts for the most wonderful season of the year.

The mission of this program is to collect and distribute new unwrapped toys to unprivileged children for Christmas.

According to their website, “The Foundation provides the leadership, funding, and support needed for successful annual toy collection and distribution campaigns.”

Back in 1997, the program launched what is one of the most beautiful commercials we’ve ever seen.

YouTube

Each Christmas, this commercial is shared by a number of people who wish for the holiday spirit to be spread around.

It features a young boy with a piece of paper in his hands approaching a Marine and asking him if he’s Santa Claus.

The Marine stands still because he’s on his job and doesn’t seem to pay attention to the boy who’s talking to him.

The boy then asks the same question again and then hands the piece of paper, which turns out to be his wish list for Christmas, to the guard, hoping his wishes to be granted this season.

To everyone’s surprise and delight, the guard, without making any eye contact with the boy, opens his hand and takes the boy’s list.

The commercial is supposed to raise awareness of the importance of the mission by Toys For Tots. It is a reminder that there are children out there who would not be getting any gifts, and that each and every one of us can help make a difference in a child’s life.

Woman has dramatic makeover, shocks husband who doesn’t recognize her

In life, there comes a time when we realize we’ve been wearing the same old hairstyle and those clothes bough years ago for way too long. And then out of the blue, something kicks in and we feel the urge to experience certain change. Whether it’s a new hair color or getting rid of the old skirts, we know we have to fight the dullness that has somehow become part of our everyday life.

Mary Johnson, a state representative in North Dakota has finally decided to lift herself from the seat with the state and visit the salon of one of the best stylists there are, Christopher Hopkins, or better known as the Makeover Guy.

Over the years, Christopher helped a huge number of people go through the transformation they had been longing for.

When Mary Johnson let him do his magic, she wasn’t sure what to expect, but the end result left her speechless. What’s most, her husband of many years couldn’t even recognize her.

Mary wasn’t looking for anything specific. Her only demand was, “No purple no blue, no none of that…”

As Christopher trimmed Mary’s hear, he also took years off her face. With adding a little red and blending her natural gray with blonde highlights, he helped brought out her bright eyes.

YouTube/ Screenshot

Once the transformation was over, another of Christopher’s clients entered the salon and walked by off screen. He made a comment that Mary looked awesome for someone who was about 42. Beaming with happiness, she answered back that 42 was “20 years ago.”

When the time came for her husband David to see her, he nearly didn’t recognize her. As she approached him, his jaw dropped and he could be heard saying, “WOW,” later confessing that he initially thought she was a different woman.

“I wouldn’t have recognized you,” he said as he couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

YouTube/ Screenshot

Mary was extremely satisfied with her new looks. “I feel great,” she said. “I couldn’t feel better, it just exceeded everything I thought possible. You guys didn’t have much of a canvas to work with, but Holy Moly, what a great job!”

She truly went from a Fargo North Dakota girl to THAT GIRL.

For Mary’s incredible transformation go to the video below.

10 major retail stores take a stand to say “Merry Christmas” instead of happy holidays

Ten major retail stores, including Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Nordstrom, and Home Depot are making a notable shift in the way they connect with their customers this season by replacing the generic “Happy Holidays” with the traditional greeting “Merry Christmas.”

As per reports, these major stores are making a deliberate and synchronized effort to shift towards “Merry Christmas.”

Even some unconventional stores like Bass Pro Shops, known for its firearm sales, are promoting the Christmas celebrations.

This effort has been praised from groups like the American Family Association, as well as the public.

The goal of these retail stores to unify in promoting the once traditional greeting is to embrace the tradition during the holiday season.

As the impact of the joyous “Merry Christmas” greeting gets acknowledged all over the country, there is a feeling of unity among the people and that makes the holiday spirit even stronger.

No matter where you shop this season, make sure you greet everyone with the phrase “Merry Christmas” and spread the Christmas cheer.

Frustrated mom stuck behind slow car: Then she sees note in the window that changes everything

Just like most moms out there, Hailey is a busy mother, a devoted wife, and a caring member of the community.

Between grocery shopping, household chores, taking care of the kids, and writing for her blog, Thoughts, Dots, and Tots, “free time” isn’t something she gets to experience often.

One day, on her way to work, Hailey got stuck behind a slow-moving truck that was struggling to reach the speed limit. She got pretty angry about it and tried her best not to lose her temper because she was in a hurry.

But, once at a stoplight, she got closer to the truck and that’s when she realized the reason for the driver’s slow speed.

Facebook/Thoughts, Dots, and Tots

In her heartfelt viral Facebook post, Hailey shared what she read on the truck’s back window. She had no idea that their time together at the stoplight would change her entire outlook on life!

She wrote:

“As I was pulling into work, I was following this car. The sign in the back window said, ‘Learning stick sorry for any delay.’

Knowing this information, I was very patient with their slow shifting, and honestly, they were doing pretty well for still learning.

Then I asked myself a tough question: Would I have been just as patient if the sign hadn’t been there?”

Facebook/Thoughts, Dots, and Tots

“I can almost definitely say no.

We don’t know what someone is going through. We don’t wear signs that illustrate our personal struggles. You don’t see signs taped to people’s shirts that say, ‘Going through a divorce,’ or ‘Lost a child,’ or ‘Feeling depressed,’ or ‘Diagnosed with cancer.’

If we could read visually what those around us are going through we would definitely be nicer.

But we shouldn’t have to see signs and have reasons to treat strangers with kindness. We should do it anyway, whether we know what is going on or not. Whether they deserve it or not.

Let’s give everyone an extra dose of patience, kindness, and love…”

The hand-scribbled message left a profound impact on Hailey. If she hadn’t seen it, she would have remained frustrated with the driver in the truck, but this way, she chose the path of tolerance.

Facebook/Thoughts, Dots, and Tots

This story is a reminder that no matter how busy we are, we should never lose the feeling of compassion for those around us.

Husband leaves pregnant wife — Later, she finds this in the oven

For Amanda Sydney life was starting to look a little better again. Amanda comes from Australia and 2017 was set to be a great year for her, filled with love and greatness and a bright future!

Three long years is how long she and her husband tried for a baby until finally, she conceived and they had just moved into their house that they had been renovating for over two years.

Amanda was on top form, in fact, she couldn’t have been any happier if she tried. Her life and hopes and dreams were all but to be smashed in the worst way possible.
Completely out of the blue her husband dropped a bombshell on her, he told her he wanted to leave and without hesitation left, out of the door, gone! Without even having a chance to take a breath, Amanda was all alone, pregnant and bills up to the wazoo!

Without any money and a baby coming along soon, Amanda by herself, a complete emotional mess and not knowing what was in store for her or her child, pondered her situation. Her friend Anna was thankfully with her, and emotionally supporting her, but it was her that had a great idea to write to the local radio station, KIIS 1065 to ask if they would consider her for a spot in their “give back” segment.

The radio station learned of Amanda’s position and they decided to get involved and help. They knew that alone it would be hard to help so they brought local businesses into the picture to make an amazing show.

They invited Amanda and Anna to the radio studios to do a segment with them, but Amanda had no clue what was going to happen. As she spoke to the radio hosts she told them how the worse part was the uncertainty of the whole situation.

Amanda said:

“It’s been about five weeks since it happened” … “And the biggest thing is just the shock, I guess because it wasn’t really what we planned, or what I planned.”

Amanda finished telling her story then the radio hostess turned to her to face a television screen behind her, it was a video tour of her new house. They highlighted what they had done for her to help, to her surprise!

A vacuum cleaner was to symbolize free home cleaning for the next six months, the food in the refrigerator was a gift from Eat Fit Food, and a commitment to bring daily meals for the next three months! On the countertop was $4,000 of baby supplies for her, with a $1,000 voucher for baby pictures even!!

But when the camera came to the oven, and the door was open, everyone lost it!!

Inside the oven was a huge stack of cash… $10,000 so Amanda will not have to worry about her mortgage for quite some time, amazing right?

Amanda was in floods of tears, all she could muster to say was:

“It means I don’t have to move now…I can’t thank you enough, I really can’t.”

It’s definitely not the 2017 she had imagined, or even wished for, but because of the generosity of strangers, it was now possible to have such a great start, over again, for her and her baby.

What a completely amazing story, don’t you think? Please SHARE it with your family and friends on Facebook!

My in-laws told me to sleep in a barn – I wasn’t ready for such disrespect & took my revenge

The relationship with the in-laws can be a challenging one. The truth is that things turn even messier when the spouse sides with his parents instead with his significant other, and these ‘issues’ don’t necessarily get easier to deal with as time passes.

A woman named Evelyn took to Reddit to ask if she was in the wrong for revealing to everyone on the social media about the treatment she received by her in-laws during a visit prior to the holiday.

Namely, she and her husband were overly excited for the trip to his parent’s place because they were about to introduce the newest addition to the family, their twins, to the grandparents.

Once there, things seemed normal at first until the in-laws presented Evelyn with the sleeping arrangement for the night. As it turned out, she and her husband couldn’t sleep together, and neither the twins.

While her husband, Mike, was expected to sleep in his childhood bedroom, Evelyn was asked to sleep in the barn.

As expected, she got confused and upset and confronted her husband about it, but he dismissed her concerns and didn’t think it was a big deal.

As her in-laws insisted on separate sleeping arrangements despite Evelyn not being happy about it, she reached her breaking point.

photographee.eu via Deposit Photos

At that moment, she documented the bizarre living conditions, booked a flight home, and shared what had happened on the social media, exposing how her in-laws treated her to her social media friends and followers.

Her husband and his parents got extremely mad and asked her to apologize for what she did.

She’s now even contemplating to spend Christmas with her own parents, who are very supportive and where she and her twins feel loved and cared for.

Evelyn asked Redditors to advise her on what’s the most appropriate thing to do.

What would you do if you were in her possition?

Teacher gets the most ridiculous answer and would have be smart not to ask the question again

Teaches stumble upon different kinds of students during their career. Some of them need some extra attention and help, and others stun them with their bright answers.

This teacher had an amusing story to share when she gave little Johnny a basic math task to solve. His answer will make you burst out laughing!

Teacher: “If I gave you two cats and another two cats and then another two, how many would you have?”

Johnny: “Seven!”

Teacher: “No, no, listen carefully… If I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?”

Johnny: “Seven.”

The teacher rubs her temples and takes a deep breath.

Teacher: “Come on, Johnny, you’re better than this. Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you two apples, and another two apples and another two, how many would you have?”

Johnny: “Six.”

Teacher: “Good. Now, if I gave you two cats, and another two cats and then another two, how many would you have?”

Johnny: “Seven!”

Teacher: “Johnny, where in the heck do you get seven from?!?”

Johnny: “Because I’ve already got a freaking cat!”

Donny Osmond kisses Susan Boyle after duet in Glasgow – and fans can’t get enough

Donny Osmond and Susan Boyle are incredible performers with millions of fans worldwide. They are both icons in their own right, but watching them share a stage together does feel like a dream.

Luckily for us, we got to witness that dream become a reality once again when Donny invited Susan to join him in Glasgow and sing a duet with him. This wasn’t the first time that these two created magic when their voices blended on stage.

Donny has been Susan’s idol since she was a young girl. When she reached for the stars and became a well known name in the world of music, Susan got to perform with her idol in 2013 in Vegas.

“It was my first time in Vegas and it was great fun, especially since I got to perform with Donny Osmond. If someone told me years ago I’d be performing on stage with him, I’d have laughed at them. He’s been my idol since I was 13, so I feel like I’ve grown up with him in a way. It’s all been a bit mind-blowing,” Susan told the Daily Mail.

NEW YORK, NY – DECEMBER 03: Singer Susan Boyle leaves the “Today Show” taping at the NBC Rockefeller Center Studios on December 3, 2013 in New York City. (Photo by Ray Tamarra/Getty Images)

Susan’s fans refer to themselves as to the Red Scarf Brigade in honor of her trademark red scarf.

“Some people think they’re a bit mad, but they’re not. They’re very kind to me and they made me a blanket with Donny’s face on which I still have on my bed because it keeps me warm. This time they made a blanket with my face on it and gave it to him,” the singer said.

“I think people relate to me in some way,” she added. “Maybe they think, ‘If she can do it in her late stage in life, maybe I can too.’”

Well, Susan may have an army of fans, but when it comes to Donny Osmond, he and his siblings even caused a movement dubbed Osmondmania.

This term was written all over newspapers following an incident during which 18 girls were slightly injured and four were treated for their injuries at the hospital.

George Stroud/Express/Hulton Archive/Getty Images

Namely, the day The Osmonds arrived at Heathrow on 21 October 1973 ended up being a serious incident that could’ve had some pretty dire consequences.

When their plane landed, more than 10,000 fans packed the roof garden at the Queen’s Building at Heathrow Airport, but as too many people were let onto the viewing site, a part of the balcony railing and wall collapsed. It was a miracles that the number of injured people was that low.

“The worst problem was hysteria,” a helper at the Queen’s Building medical center, where first aid was provided, said at the time. “It was difficult at first to distinguish between girls who had been hurt and girls who were screaming and weeping from fright or from disappointment at missing a sight of the group.”

Donny and his siblings weren’t even aware of what had happened util they arrived at the hotel.

“It was pretty cool, the screaming and the adulation, but I remember a moment right after the Heathrow experience where the balcony collapsed and we were banned from the airports,” Donny Osmond remembered in an interview with the Standard.

“I was in the hotel room with my brother Alan and we turn the television on that night and there was this programme with three people on – the presenter, a person from Scotland Yard and a child psychiatrist and they were debating whether or not Donny Osmond should be deported from England because of what he’s doing to all of our young kids. My brother turned to me and said, ‘You remember this moment because this never happens’. It was such a cool moment.”

Source: Instagram/DonnyOsmond

Donny once recalled another incident involving a group of fans. Namely, he and his siblings were chased after by some girls into an underground car park of the hotel and the security had to use a firehose to keep them out.

“I had the time of my life!” Donny recalled. “Hundreds and hundreds of fans were able to get into the parking structure, and [because] I had long hair at the time, they were just surrounding us. Our security guard, he saw me, and because of my long hair, he thought I was one of the fans so he threw me back into the fans and realised what he had done, but he couldn’t get to me because of all the fans. So I got on the floor, and I was sneaking to the entrance of the hotel, and one of the other security guards thought I was a fan and grabbed me and threw me back into the fans. It was awesome!”

Recently, Donny performed in Glasgow. To the delight of the crowd, he asked a familiar name to join him on stage, Susan Boyle.

The two performed a version of This Is the Moment, which they recorded together in 2012.

A video of their performance, shared by Catherine Chisholm, shows Donny holding Susan’s hand, smiling, before giving her a big hug. He then thanks her and lands a kiss on her forehead.

“That was a treat – thank you, Susan. I love that woman,” he could be heard saying.

Donny himself posted a photo of him and Susan with the caption, “In Glasgow, Scotland and low and behold, guess who showed up to my concert? My dear friend, Susan Boyle! She was waiting in one of the dressing rooms backstage to go out to the audience and I heard this angel voice in the hallway. I walked up to the door and…”

A baby girl who ‘never stops smiling’ is living with a rare skin condition that makes her skin crack

Those nine months a mom carries her baby are filled with joy, anticipation, and a dose of uncertainty. What the new parents hope for is their bundle of joy to be healthy. Sadly, that is not always the case.

Jennie Wilklow, from Highland, New York, couldn’t wait to meet her daughter. She and her husband were over the moon to hold her in their arms. All the ultrasounds and doctor’s appointment suggested the baby was healthy, so they were eased and never thought sweet Anna would be born with a condition that would change all of their lives forever.

Jennie delivered Anna via C-section at 34 weeks. Doctors told her she looked beautiful and that was all Jennie needed to hear at that point.

Shortly after, the proud mom heard her daughter cry, and that was just another sign that everything was right with her little jewel.

When her husband visited Jennie, he was strangely silent and looked worried and puzzled.

“My husband’s silence scared me; he just sat in shock as the doctor left, and I prodded for more info,” Jennie shared with Cafe Mom.

“He just kept saying, ‘It’s bad.’ What does that even mean? I thought in my head. He told me, ‘Jennie, I looked in her eyes, and she has the most beautiful soul.’”

Anna was diagnosed with harlequin ichthyosis, a rare condition that causes thick diamond-shaped plates that are separated by deep cracks. “As they tried frantically to help her, her skin hardened within seconds (of birth). After hardening, it began to split, causing open wounds all over her body,” Jennie told Cafe Mom

Although doctors weren’t sure she would survive, Anna beat the odds and is thriving. “She was beauty in the purest form,” her mom said.

There isn’t cure, and the treatment is quite demanding as it requires constant baths and keeping the skin as much moisturized as possible. “Every couple of hours I covered her with Vaseline and bathed her for many hours of the day. I had dreamed for years about the things my baby would wear, and though it seemed so trivial, it was what I struggled with most,” Jennie said.

In an attempt to raise awareness about this condition, Jennie posts photos of Anna on her Instagram page harlequindiva. She opens up about the everyday struggles and what it is like to have a child with harlequin ichthyosis.

“Anna captured everyone’s hearts because she is the purest form of perfection. Doing the work every day is simple when I’m doing it for her, and with every new accomplishment, the world celebrates with me,” Jennie told Cafe Mom.

She adds, “I now understand that I was given her because of the love I already carried in my heart for my daughter. Anna was meant for me, and I for her, and together we will show the world what true beauty is.”

Anna is beautiful the way she is and she’s lucky she has parents who do all in their power for her to have a normal life.

Woman gave an ultimatum to her daughter after she said she couldn’t stop her son…

For most of us, Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year. The holiday is a reminder of the love we need to share with those around us, especially our family and friends.

Sadly, in the case of one family, the Christmas celebration became a reason for a feud which ended with a mother giving her daughter an ultimatum and possibly uninviting her from the party she was hosting.

The mother shared her story on Reddit and asked fellow users if she was in the right or not.

JillWellington/ Pixabay

Namely, she explained that there is a huge age gap between her children. She had her daughter, who’s 25, with her ex-husband who was her high-school sweetheart. She later remarried and welcomed two children, who are now 7 and 9 years of age.

Her eldest daughter has a son on her own, which makes the OP a grandmother, too.

As the holiday is approaching, she invited her daughter and her grandson to a Christmas party she will be hosting. However, there was something that eventually caused a trouble.

The woman explained that her grandson doesn’t believe Santa Clause truly exists and his mom is okay with that. However, the woman’s young children do believe in Santa Claus, so now OP is worried that her grandson could ruin the magic for her children if he mentions something about Santa Clause during the evening of the party.

“I asked my daughter if she’d please talk to her son, because I wouldn’t like the magic ruined for them. I still put packages under the tree with “from Santa” on them, and leave out cookies and reindeer treats (bird seeds.) My daughter told us she wouldn’t make her son lie, and my children are old enough to understand if her son decides to say something,” the woman posted.

Reddit

When the daughter said she wouldn’t force her son to lie, the woman got mad and said that if that’s the case, then her daughter and her grandson should be spending Christmas all by themselves in their own apartment.

The daughter was devastated by her mother’s response and accused her of choosing her younger children’s happiness over hers, and that she was being completely unreasonable.

The woman said her husband supports her because they both want to keep the magic alive.

Following her post, comments started pouring in, and to her surprise most of the redditors agreed that OP was in the wrong.
