I am sure you’ve heard people saying how the media is often misleading and tends to present the reality a bit different than it really is. If you wonder how they do it just take a look at the following story a reader named Carl A. posted online. This is going to make you laugh and will put you into some serious thinking all at once. Take a look at it below.
The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.
The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the Race again, and it won again.
The local paper read:
PASTOR’S ASS OUT FRONT.
The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.
The next day, the local paper headline read:
BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR’S ASS.
This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of the donkey. The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent.
The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the next day:
NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.
The bishop fainted.
He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she sold it to a farmer for $10.
The next day the paper read:
NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.
This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.
The next day the headlines read:
NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.
The bishop was buried the next day.
“We were just driving around patrolling, and we noticed this kid who was sprinting down 85th Avenue. We were kind like, ‘this is odd. Nobody sprints like that, so let’s stop this kid.'”
“Something about it bugged me, because I couldn’t get through to him. He just seemed like there was something going on, and that there was something that was hurtful going on that he would say,” Brandon said about the experience. The kind officer then put his mind into keeping an eye on the 16-year-old kid whose name was Antony Schultz. The teen lived in a one bedroom apartment with his family of seven and struggled to lead a normal life.
“I had a role model. I had someone I could look up to. I had someone I could aspire to be,” Anthony had to say.One night, the boy’s mother called Brandon and asked him to take Antony. Having two children on their own, the officer and his wife knew that welcoming another member in their home would be a true blessing.
“We have taken him in as one of our own. Even my kids say he’s their big brother, and they love it.”
Online shopping and online trade is currently the most convenient way of doing business. People buy and sell things on regular basis. There is a huge number of websites that offer online trade that ease people’s lives. However, let’s face it, the possibility of being cheated or misused while shopping and selling online is always there.
We all take that risk and we all go along with it. No matter what doubts we have while shopping or selling online, there is always the hope that we will end up trading with just the right person. Exactly this happened to Matt Shoukry from St. Louis, Missouri. He was pleasantly surprised when he got something he didn’t even hoped for.
Mr. Shoukry thought highly of his old VHS player and he didn’t want it ending up in the trash. Instead, he decided to do what we would all probably have done – selling it on eBay. To his surprise, he sold the old VHS player to a very fine man and he was even ‘awarded’ with a letter that will probably change the manner of how he sees the world around him.
The well-mannered buyer of the old VHS was an 86-year-old Phoenix resident called Don. Mr. Don, a first-time user of eBay, contacted Mr. Shoukry after seeing the online ad. Thinking that it was just an everyday buying-selling trade, he packed the VHS and sent it to him. Mr. Don sent him a thank you note and the trade was done, reports FOX 2. At least for the moment.
However, the surprise was yet to follow. Soon after the business deal was done, Mr. Shoukry got a very emotional letter, sent by Mr. Don, that touched him and his life partner. The old Phoenix VHS user confessed that thanks to Mr. Shoukry, he is now able to see the videos that he has never seen. With just spending $40, he could revive memories that could have been gone forever. Imagine his happiness!
The letter says:
I found my old VHS tapes recently and wanted to see what is on them and realised I had no player. So I went to eBay for the first time and discovered your offer.
I bought your VHS and you shipped it within a few days. The VHS looks new and unused. Amazing. I had some issues getting it going which were mine and not the player.
I am 86 and perhaps not up to my game but I do get there eventually. And I did, and discovered the VHS works perfectly. Thank you so much for your care, your efforts, and your promptness.
Additionally, Don explains:
I watched tapes of my retirement party from 25 years ago which I had never seen before. Jeez, were we young. Then a tape of my wedding with all the family and friends, many of which are no longer around.
Then skiing trips, kids growing up, travels, and most importantly the gentle maturing of my family. Each one more fun than the last. All thanks to your generous selling of the VHS player.
I thought you would appreciate how much someone has enjoyed your offer.
Mr. Shoukry and his girlfriend found this letter quite emotional and sincere. This letter touched their hearts and they decided to frame it and keep it in their home. Matt even offered his help in preserving the old VHS tapes for longer use. What a story and new friendship!

How much we care for the elderly speaks a lot about us as human beings. This group of people is valuable for the community as they have been through so much during their lifetime and are full of wisdom and knowledge. They’ve already figured out how life actually functions and may give us advice on how to get things right.
The life of the residents of Avita, an assisted living facility, is never boring. Why? Because every now and then, these elderly people get to welcome the sweetest little visitors who make their days and put lots of smiles on their faces. If you wonder what we are talking about, take a look at this story of one of the most unusual, yet most adorable friendships ever.
Stanley, a 95-year-old veteran and a resident of Avita suffers from dementia and a memory loss. But, whenever he gets to see his new friend, it looks like his condition improves in an instant, and that’s something that leaves the establishment’s staff amazed.
The facility came up with an idea of how to make its residents have fun. They regularly organize music generation classes which allow young children from Wells, Maine to visit the place and do a bunch of things such as singing songs, playing instruments and playing games with the elderly. One of these kids is little Etta Morse, who somehow found in Stanley her new best friend. Now if you think a 95-year-old veteran and a 3-year-old girl can’t be pals, than you are wrong.
When little Etta first visited the place two years ago, she grew fond of the old man whom she offered her instrument. Ever since, her mother brings her and her brother at Avita because she knows that makes the elderly’s days filled with laughter.
In an interview with News Center Maine Laurie, Etta’s mom, said:
“I have no idea when it actually started. They just kind of have a little connection.”
Now Etta gives her instrument to Stanley whenever she visits him. So far, she refused to give it to any other of the sixty residents.
The staff says that whenever Stanley knows it’s a visit time, he puts on his best clothes, and that includes a blazer, and patiently waits for his sweet friend to come. Because of his health condition, it happens that he forgets her name, but he always remembers how Etta makes him feel, and that’s being loved and cared for.
Stanley is a man of few words, but he finds ways to make sure everyone knows how much Etta means to him. What this girl’s mom does is sort of amazing. She teaches her kids to treat elderly with respect. Because being old and alone is not easy.
Take a look at this unlikely friendship in the video below.
Get ready for some good laugh because it doesn’t get any funnier than this. You know what they say, oldie but goldie.
One day, Moses, Jesus and an old man are golfing. Moses steps up to the tee and hits the ball. It goes sailing over the fairway and lands in the water trap. Moses parts the water and chips the ball onto the green.
Jesus steps up to the tee and hits the ball. It goes sailing over the fairway and lands in the water trap. Jesus just walks on the water and chips the ball onto the green.
The old man steps up to the tee and hits the ball. It goes sailing over the fairway and heads for the watertrap.
But just before it falls into the water, a fish jumps up and grabs the ball in its mouth. As the fish is falling back down to the water, and eagle swoops down and grabs the fish in its claws.
The eagle flies off, and when it is over the green, a lighting bolt shoots from the sky and hits the eagle. Startled, the eagle drops the fish. When the fish hits the ground, the ball pops out of its mouth and rolls into the hole for a hole-in-one.
Jesus turns to the old man and says, “Dad, if you don’t quit playing like that, we’re not going to bring you next time.”
War veterans are people who have done so much for our country. In fact, I am not sure if we can ever thank them enough for their sacrifice. That is why I always shed a tear of joy when I see someone paying these people the ultimate respect.
America’s sweetheart, the music icon Pink has done something incredible while performing on stage. She shared with the crowd how there is a special person in her life who helped her get where she is today. A Vietnam veteran who happened to be her father. This would be the first time ever this hero to be performing along with his loving daughter, and it doesn’t get any more emotional than this.
Jim Moore was honored to sing in front of the crowd the song he wrote some 40 years ago while deployed. “I Have Seen The Rain” is a piece of music every person who was part of the military can relate to. The audience was mesmerized by this father-daughter duo that poured pure emotions on that stage.
Watching Pink’s favorite person singing by her side is an incredible experience. She admits her daddy was her biggest support in life, and listening to him performing makes us realize who did Pink inherit her talent from. It’s obvious music runs in this family’s genes.
