Vegan Who Sued Neighbors over Barbecue Smell Loses Court Appeal

A vegan woman from Perth, Australia, named Cilla Carden took legal action against her meat eating neighbors for making barbecue in their back yard. According to Carden, her stay at her yard became unbearable because of the smell of grilled meat and cigarettes and that made her took drastic measures. She as well complained of the neighbors’ kids running and playing outside. Speaking to 9News, she said, “It’s been devastating, it’s been turmoil, it’s been unrest, I haven’t been able to sleep.”

Carden’s case, however, wasn’t convincing and was thrown by the State Administrative Tribunal. One of her neighbors who wanted to stay anonymous says her demands ‘were proven to be not reasonable and and indeed were to the detriment of the other owners’ ability to enjoy their lots in a reasonable and acceptable manner.’

But Carden was determined to stop at nothing to regain her piece and quiet. Not only she sued them again, but this time she also asked from the nearby families to dim their patio lighting, keep their pets quiet, and stop putting many plants in the common garden.

The appeal she submitted on March 29 of this years was rejected on July 29 by Chief Justice Peter Quinlan. He said that the 400 pages of evidence were ‘well in excess of anything that might be thought to be proportionate to the issues’.

According to The tribunal, letting children play in the patio ‘didn’t constitute reasonably a nuisance.’

Now, even one of the families forbade their kids from playing basketball and moved their barbecue, Carden is still not happy and is planning on taking additional legal action.

Michael Bublé newest video has parents all over the world sobbing about their kids growing up

Michael Bublé, one of our favorite musicians, has released a new song and a video that have gone viral and have parents all over the world sobbing. The touching piece of music speaks of the love parents have for their little ones and how fast they grow up and move on with their own life.

“Forever Now” triggers strong emotions. Parents’ whose kids go back to school or off to college relate to the lyrics and to the visual representation of what it really feels like to see their children become independent individuals.

The hit that was uploaded on YouTube in March of this year is a reminder that we should spend as much time with our kids as possible because time flies really fast and we may miss some of the best moments we can have with them without even being aware of it.

The video shows how a child’s room changes over the years. From the cute nursery filled with teddy bears and a bunch of toys, to a teenager’s nest.

The lyrics go like this:

“I just met you, seems like yesterday. You opened up your eyes and I recognized your face. You know that you’re the one that we’ve been waiting for; we’re going to keep you safe.”

We challenge you to watch it until the very end without sobbing.

This really makes you think of the ‘limited’ time you get to spend with your children. So, make sure you grab every opportunity to be by their side.

“It wasn’t so long ago, we walked together and you held my hand, and now you’re getting too big to want to.”

Touching, indeed, isn’t it?

12-year-old comes to rescue of a toddler trapped in a hot car

According to statistics, on average, 38 children younger than 15 die each year of heatstroke after being locked and trapped in hot vehicles. Although these numbers are concerning and devastating, we still hear of moms and dads who somehow happen to forget their little ones in the car during hot summer days when the temperatures rise and the heat index goes very high.

Most times, the reason why kids are left alone in hot vehicles is because the parents aren’t even aware of the dangers and believe the children are perfectly safe while waiting for their moms and dads to run errands and go shopping. But, sometimes it takes a little for a tragedy to struck.

A few days ago, another case of a toddler trapped in a car during a hot day was reported. Luckily, it didn’t turn out fatal all thanks to a 12-year-old boy who stopped a tragedy from taking place.

Namely, Ben Theriot and his mom were getting to their car at a store’s parking lot when they heard strange cries coming from a parked vehicle. They both knew something was wrong and someone was in trouble so they decided to see where those noises were coming from.

The sight left them pretty concerned. A two-year-old boy was sitting inside one of the cars all alone and they could say he was terrified. His mom left him there while she was shopping inside the store.

Luckily, Ben didn’t panic. The only thing on his mind was to get the crying boy out.

He grabbed a ratchet strap and started pounding on the car’s windshield as hard as he could.

Breaking that glass, however, was harder than Ben though. But, he just knew he had to do its best to crack it. The quick-thinking boy then got on top of the car and started hitting the windshield with his feet until it broke through.

As he finally managed to open the doors and get the boy out of the car, Ben’s mother called the police who arrived at the scene in a matter of minutes.

Everyone felt relieved when they realized the two-year-old was fine. But if it wasn’t for Ben and his mom, things could have turned out for the worse.

The police tracked the mom down and questioned her regarding the incident.

The mother said how she believed she didn’t actually leave her child unattended as she though there was another adult there with him. But with the heat index reaching 116 degrees that day, there really was no space for ‘thinking.’ She had to be sure the boy wasn’t in any sort of danger before heading to that store.

As a result of her negligence, she was fined with $250 under Oklahoma’s “Forget Me Not” law of 2008. The law clearly states it’s forbidden for young children and vulnerable adults to be left in vehicles unattended.

The boy was allowed to go home with his mother but social services would further investigate whether that was a one time incident and would make sure the mother keeps closer eye on her kid. We hope she learned her lesson!

You can take a look at the whole story in the video below.

Deaf mom left in tears after being denied service at a Burger King drive-thru

Living with an impairment can be challenging. Unfortunately, people nowadays are not that considerate towards those who cope with certain disability. A woman named Rachel Hollis, who is hearing-impaired, experienced humans’ lack of empathy first hand when she tried to get some food at a Burger King drive-thru in Oklahoma.

Rachel typed her order out on her phone and handed it to the employee. But instead of getting what she ordered, she was given a piece of paper with something written on it.

At that moment, she felt so humiliated that she could barely hold her tears back.

The employee was looking at her with aversion and instead of serving her, he slammed the window and started yelling.

Rachel somehow knew things would turn for the worst so she hit the record button on her phone.

Handling her the note that said, “I can’t do a full order at the window. It’s too busy,” that rude server expected from Rachel to just leave. But as she stayed where she was, he told her to come inside and then called the police.

Completely unaware of what she did wrong, this mother was left overwhelmed.

She didn’t want to show any weakness in front of that rude person so she did her best not to cry, but once she left the place, she just couldn’t stop her tears from rolling down her face.

“I was very upset, I was crying, I was tired. I’m tired of discrimination,” she explained. “I’ve never experienced anything like that, for someone to call the police. That’s crazy, it just doesn’t seem right,” she told KFOR.

Later, after the public learned of the incident, Burger King said in a statement for KFOR that they fired the employee.

“All guests should be treated with respect and provided with a high level of service at our restaurants. The restaurant owner has reached out to the guest and her family to apologize, the employee was terminated and all employees at the location will undergo additional sensitivity training to ensure our customers always feel welcomed.”

We can never understand those people who enjoy hurting and humiliating others. We are glad that rude employee got sacked, because that’s exactly what he deserved.

Little boy holds hand of a crying classmate

First day of school can be either a cheerful or a scary experience. Being surrounded by so many new, unfamiliar faces can cause distress at young children who are starting a new chapter of their life. But it’s especially challenging for kids with autism who are not as outgoing as the rest of their peers.

Connor Crites is an 8-year-old boy from Kansas who found it hard to blend with his schoolmates on his first day of school. He’s now a student in the second grade of Minneha Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas. Starting the new year, Connor couldn’t help by feel terrified of the new surrounding, so instead of running around in excitement, he moved into a quiet corner and began to cry.

And as the rest of the students didn’t even notice the boy in distress because they were pretty much busy minding their own business, one very special boy took a notice of Connor and stepped in.

Thinking Connor might be in need of a friend, Christian took his hand and the two entered the school building together.

Seeing such a young boy showing compassion for a peer he’s never met before was the cutest thing ever. Luckily, Christian’s mom, Courtney Moore, saw what her son did and took a picture of the boys holding hands.

“I saw him on the ground with Connor as Connor was crying in the corner and he was consoling him. He grabs his hand and walks him to the front door.

We waited until the bell rang and he walked him inside of the school. The rest is history. They have an inseparable bond,” Moore told KAKE-TV.

After she shared the cute photo on the social media, lots of people praised Christian for the kindness he showed to Connor. Among those people was Connor’s mother herself.

“I fear every day that someone is going to laugh at him because he doesn’t speak correctly, or laugh at him because he doesn’t sit still or because he jumps up and down and flaps his hands,” Crites told to KAKE-TV.

It’s truly amazing and inspiring to know that there are young kids like Christian who know how to help someone in need.

It’s true when they say that even a single act of kindness can go a long way.

Remains of missing fallen soldier from Korean War returned home, airline’s response is tear-jerking

The remains of a soldier who took part in the Korean War have been found 63 years after he’d gone missing. The sacrifice he made for this country has been greeted by the Honor Guard of the Delta Air Lines. They gathered at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia and paid tribute to the fallen soldier.

In another, smaller casket, were bone fragments of another soldier whose body was already buried. Both caskets were covered in U.S Flags.

The video has touched many Americans who are aware of the sacrifice soldiers do for the well-being of our land and its people.

When you enjoy the comfort of your home during holidays and family gatherings, think of those people in the military who don’t get to see their loved ones in months, or even years. And they do all that so that ordinary citizens like you and I could sleep peacefully at night.

The heartbreaking scene shows members of the Delta Honor Guard receiving the caskets, lowering the flags, and reading a prayer for those who lost their life during the war.

Country music star Vince Gill told to not mention Jesus – his response causes a standing ovation

When Vince Gill first appeared on the music scene as a part of the country rock band Pure Prairie League back in 1979, it was certain he would last. He makes the crowds cheer in excitement any time he lets his powerful vocal loose and his performances are truly one of a kind.

With more than 20 albums under his belt, Gill steals the hearts of people from all over the country. Recently, this talented musician, who is also a devoted Christian, incorporated more gospel music into his appearances, and people seem to love it.

The audience was thrilled to have him perform at the Grand Ole Opry stage in Nashville Tennessee because they knew he was about to prepare a show to remember.

But, the bosses told him he should stay away from his religious songs and avoid singing anything about Jesus.

Gill could have appear on that stage and do what he was told, but instead, he opted to listen to his instinct and did something truly memorable that had everyone on their feet.

Soon, the powerful and touching melody and lyrics of “Why Me Lord” could be heard filling the place. The song that was initially performed and recorded by Kris Kristofferson in 1972 and Gill’s vocal skills did magic.

He got a standing ovations and the video of the performance was quickly shared all over the Internet.

We all praise Gill for staying true to his faith and we thank him for the great music he has given to us over the years.
