79-year-old man who was punched in an unprovoked attack has died

No matter how sad it sounds, we have to agree that this world has gone completely mad. The pandemic is still preventing us to get back to the old way of living and is affecting everyone, especially the elderly people who are way too fragile to fight against the virus. And if that isn’t bad enough, there are still people out there who treat this category of citizens in a very unacceptable manner.

79-year-old Angel Diaz was walking outside his building at Hoyt Street in Downtown Brooklyn when a young man approached him and started hitting him out of the blue. The video footage clearly shows that the gruesome attack was unprovoked. After Diaz lost his cane, he fell on the ground, but the attacker didn’t stop there and continued hitting and punching the helpless man.

The footage then shows the attacked fleeing the scene on foot. Diaz was spotted by passersby and taken to the nearest hospital. His condition seemed stable, but unfortunately, he passed away on October 29.

The incident took place on September 13, around 9 p.m.

The exact reason of Diaz’s death is yet to be examined and police are urging the public to come forward with information that would lead to identification as well as arrest of the attacker.

You cann call the Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or visiti www.nypdcrimestoppers.com in case you feel you can help track down the wrongdoer.

Rest in peace Mr. Diaz, our prayers go with the family.

Boy, 8, spends entire life imprisoned in a filthy room covered in urine and feces with no electricity

Looks can be deceiving, they say, and in the case of the Davis family this turned to be very true.

Daniel Andrew Davis, 37, and his wife Kelley Lynne, 36, have always been considered a normal couple. They had five daughters together and lived an ordinary life. Well, at least that is what their neighbors thought.

To everyone’s surprise, the Davis family also had a son, an eight-year-old boy who never saw the sunlight and spent his whole life locked in a tiny room with no electricity. The only thing in that filthy room covered in urine and feces were a blanket and a mattress.

The story of the severe neglect and abuse came to light after the boy set the blanket on fire and authorities visited the house to inspect the matter. When they discovered the dark and dirty room, they were shocked.

It was later reported by Fox 13, that none of the girls was ever treated in the manner the family’s son was.

None of the neighbors has ever seen the boy. They said that they had no idea he was living in the house. The girls, on the other hand, were always let to play outside. When the parents were arrested, the father “freely admitted, without hesitation, that the dogs in the household had more freedom and better living conditions than the victim,” according to detectives.

Before the fire incident, there were 911 calls made from the house, but no one suspected abuse was taking place there. One of the neighbors, Charles Clutter, told Tampa Bay Times, “They seemed normal. You truly don’t know who your neighbors are.”

The evil and sadistic parents were released on $10,000 bonds on October 5.

Nursing home organizes romantic dinner for an elderly couple who missed their 66-year anniversary because of the pandemic

I believe that the kind of love couples had for one another in the past was somehow deeper and purer than what we have nowadays. The true family values were something people lived by and they had greater respect for one another.

Take a look at Derek and Phyllis Mapes from Norwich, England. These two are both 90 years old and have been married for 66 years. They have always celebrated their anniversary together, except for this year.

World News Era

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the two were forced to spend eight months separated.

Phyllis was admitted to the hospital as she didn’t feel fine and was transferred to a nursing home right after that. Because of the social distancing, her family wasn’t allowed to visit her there. In fact, they could only see her when the nursing home organized socially distanced meetings, but that wasn’t enough for her family, especially her husband, who missed her dearly.

Then, some time later, Derek was also taken to a nursing home, a different one than that where the love of his life was. The two felt like the gap between them grew bigger, but then, Derek was transferred to Phyllis’ nursing home, Laurel Lodge Care Home.

The staff there were aware that being together with someone for over six decades must have been special, so they organized a romantic dinner for the elderly couple. This was supposed to make up for the anniversary they missed in February.

The place was decorated with a huge number of rose petals and live music was playing. Derek and Phyllis were all dressed up and had an amazing night.

“It’s brilliant, it’s good to be back together. You realize what’s been missing. The fact I had been a little bit lonely in a bungalow, I was in there on my own,” a teary Derek told Metro News.

BBC News

Danielle Bullent, the nursing home manager, said,  “It felt as if we were not at Laurel Lodge but in this posh restaurant. It was all about them, they had no clue. They’ve been apart for so long.”

The Mapes have three children, seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. We are so happy this loving couple is finally together again and we wish them more happy years together.

A tiny Pit Bull pup with a broken jaw gets a second chance thanks to the amazing vets

Some people are simply born to do what they do. Let’s be honest, it takes some very special personality to be a veterinarian and work with animals, don’t you agree?

Dr. Karri is a vet who is always there for any animal in need of help. She, along with her colleagues at the Vet Ranch and her husband, Dr. Judd, are working around the clock to make sure as many animals gets the right amount of love, affection, and dedication.

Recently, Dr. Karri treated a baby Pit Bull who was brought at the clinic with a broken jaw. The poor animal got hurt by her own mother. As Dr. Karri explains in the video below, the mother has been aggressive about her food, so when the little pup approached her food bawl, she attacked her. Of, course, they believe she didn’t mean to break her puppy’s jaw but was lead by her natural reflexes.

The pup needed a surgery and doctors feared whether she would be able to get enough nutrition. After the surgery, however, the sweet animal started feeling better and better. Her path to a normal life is documented in the video below, and it’s amazing to witness.

Bigfoot’s inspirational messages provide comfort for many amid the coronavirus pandemic

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, which affected the way we live, staying positive and optimistic seems like the only reasonable thing if we don’t want to crush mentally. Many people lost their jobs and are struggling to make ends meet as a number of businesses closed, and if we want this craziness to come to an end as soon as possible we have to respect the measures of protection of deadly COVID-19.

The members of the community at Brimfield, a town in Massachusetts, are reminded of the precautions against the virus in a quite odd but lovely manner.

Facebook

As it turns out, there is a huge statue of Bigfoot in front of the house of a man named Todd Disotell. What is interesting about the statue is that there are different messages about the fight against the coronavirus. Some of them say, “Be the missing link. Stay home,” “Avoid the Covid bug. Cover your mug,” “Safe distance = six (big) feet,” and “If I can avoid people, so can you.” Creative, isn’t it?

The champion in “hide and seek” also has some valuable advice when it comes to the importance of keeping the hygiene habit at the highest level.

“Stomp out Corona, one Bigfoot at a time,” “Sasqwash your hands for at least 20 seconds,” “Squatch your desire for a haircut,” and “The best is Yeti come.”

Facebook

Sadly, once the statue of the mythical creature gained popularity among the residents, it was stolen. Disotell offered $2,400 for having Bigfoot back, and luckily, just a few days later, the thieves were reported to have abandoned the statue at the yard of a family house.

Speaking of just how important this Bigfoot statue turned out to be during these tough times for the humanity, Sarah Prager, a mother of a 7-month-old baby who drives around Brimfield when her daughter has a hard time sleeping, says, “The amount I missed Sasquatch surprised me, and I realized how much this creature had become my cheerleader to avoid humans like he does. It takes a lot of willpower to stay away from your friends when you desperately want to see them, and Bigfoot’s messages had made me feel like I was accountable to someone who was directly asking me to keep my distance. The signs were written by a neighbor for other neighbors: We were all in this together.”

The messages Bigfoot sends highlight the importance of the measures and spread positivity and comfort at the same time.

President Trump nominates Marine to be first-ever black female general

Col. Lorna M. Mahlock, who was born in Jamaica and immigrated to Brooklyn, was nominated by president Trump the first African-American female to become a general in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mahlock has had a very successful career as a tower control officer, among the rest. When she was a soldier, she served in Germany, operated in the Office of Legislative Affairs, and served in Okinawa, Japan.

Today, she holds four master degrees, one in Adult and Higher Education from the University of Oklahoma at Norman, one in National Security and Strategic Studies with distinction for the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, third in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and her fourth masters degree is in Information Operations.

Throughout her career as a commander, director of the Marine Corps Instructional Management School, and serving as a Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Instructor, she has given so much to our country.

We are very happy she was nominated for yet another role which she will definitely excel.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s daughter Isabella shares a rare photo of herself

When Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman tied the knot, they instantly became on the most loved Hollywood couples. Fans loved seeing them together as they looked adorable by each other’s side. But as most other celebrity couples, they split and took different paths. Rumors were that the Church of Scientology, Cruise is a devoted member of, wasn’t a fan of Kidman.

Before they untied the knot, they adopted two children, daughter Isabella Jane son Connor Antony. Magazines have been reporting how the kids have a closer relationship with their dad, but both Kidman and her adopted children said it wasn’t really true because they are on good terms and always have been.

What is interesting about Isabella and Connor is that despite having A-list celebrity parents, they have always tend to live a quiet life out of the public eye.

In an interview with the Australian Who Magazine, Kidman spoke of her kids and their decision to become members of the Church of Scientology themselves, which deemed her an SP, or Suppressive Person, and said, “They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” she explained.

“And I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here.”

Isabella, 27, is married to husband Max Parker and lives in London where she works as an artist. She tends to share photos of her artwork, but rarely posts photos of herself.

Just recently, however, she treated her 18.000 followers with a selfie and wrote, “All that glitters is gold…oh wait, it’s just another Instagram filter.”

Some three months ago, she also posted a photo of herself posing in the kitchen with the hand on her head accompanied with the caption, “The procrastination station.”

Connor also tends to keep a low profile. Recently, he and dad Tom were spotted together. He rarely shares photos of himself, but from what he has on his Instagram account, we can see he’s a fan of fishing.
