Sean “Diddy” Combs is on trial in New York City on federal charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

If found guilty, the musician faces a minimum of 15 years of prison time or a maximum sentence of life in prison.

At the start of the trial, Diddy has pleaded not guilty for the charges he’s facing.

Responding to a question from Fox News reporter Peter Doocy on Friday about his friendship with Diddy, President Donald Trump addressed whether he’d consider issuing a pardon for the rapper.

“Well, nobody’s asked. You had to be the one to ask, Peter. I know people are thinking about it.

“First of all, I’d look at what’s happening, and I haven’t been watching it too closely, although it’s certainly getting a lot of coverage,” the president added.

“He used to really like me a lot, but I think when I ran for politics, sort of, that relationship busted up from what I read.

“You become a much different person when you run for politics and you do what’s right. Our country’s doing really well because of what we’re doing.

“If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me, it wouldn’t have any impact on me,” Trump said.

The former CEO of Death Row Records, Suge Knight, suggested Trump could issue a pardon for Diddy if found guilty, The Hill reported.

At the start of his presidency, Trump issued hundreds of pardons, including the ones for nearly all Jan. 6 defendants.

In recent days, the president made headlines with his pardons. Among the rest, he pardoned reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley, who were convicted on bank fraud and tax evasion charges.

Trump also issued pardon for rapper NBA Youngboy, sentenced for gun-related charges.

“I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building — as a man, as a father, and as an artist,” the rapper said in a statement.
