Mother who has a backpack leash for her adopted son has a message for those who shame her parenting

Those people who still don’t have children on their own are easy to judge others for their parenting. The truth is that we can never really know what moms and dads out there experience when it comes to their kids.

One mother opens up about her struggles with her adopted child whose parents were drug addicts, and as a result, he was born with an addiction himself. Other than that horrific fact, Rachel Butcher doesn’t know much about her boy’s biological parents. She has no idea whether there were any genetic illnesses running in the family or if there were any other super energetic children related to her son. What she knows is that she loves her boy endlessly and that she has to find ways to cope with his hyperactivity.

In a Facebook post, Rachel wrote that she used to run a lot, but now, due to the scar tissue from her hysterectomy, she can’t walk fast or run, and that is one of the reasons why she has a backpack leash on her son who throws tantrums very often.

Now, she wants to send a message to all those people who stare at her and judge her whenever she is at the store or outside for a walk.

“10 years ago, walking around Disney World, I laughed and cringed at the sight of children on leashes. ‘How can they not control their child?, I’ll never let my child behave that way,'” Rachel wrote. “Yes, I was ‘Karen’ then, but, lets be real, every parent has said that line once or twice BEFORE they had children and ate crow years later.”

She only decided to open up about the situation after a recent visit to Target. After a lot of stares and nasty comments, she decided to leave the store with tears in her eyes and asking herself why so many women feel the need to mom shame so often.

She ended her post writing: “My child isn’t talking yet and we have a communication barrier. He attends occupational and speech therapy and he is THRIVING. He is such a happy, beautiful little boy with A LOT of energy.

“I’m not writing this for pity or sympathy, but more of a public service announcement to kids with leashes. My son does not have a disability, he is a runner. My neighbors know he is a runner, so much so that they chase after him too.

“It takes a village to raise a kid and my village rocks.”

Rachel’s story is truly eye-opening. Whenever we see a child having a meltdown at a public place, we shouldn’t be quick to pass judgments but remember that every family is facing their own struggles and battling their own battles.

Céline Dion posts new throwback picture from 25 years ago and we feel nostalgic

Being one of the best female singers the world has ever seen, Céline Dion has given the music industry more than anyone can ever assume or expect. Her voice, described by many as angelic, gives us goosebumps every time we listen to it.

Born as the youngest child in the family of 14 siblings, Dion described her childhood as a beautiful one. Of course, being the little girl among all her brothers and sisters wasn’t easy at times, but despite the number of children, her parents always tried to provide a decent life for everyone in the household.

Speaking to Woman’s Weekly about her younger days, the singer said: “No, it really wasn’t. I remember passing down clothes from one sibling to another – I’m the youngest child of 14. I had to walk to and from school four times a day often in snowstorms that were quite common in my hometown of Charlemagne in Quebec, Canada.”

She also said that being home with her parents and siblings was where she felt most secure and most comfortable while growing up.

Dion’s mom and dad, who were into music themselves, were aware of her singing talent and introduced her to the world of music. She stared performing at the age of only five, but the entire world learned of her only after manager and producer Rene Angelil, who later became her husband, heard her singing. He believed that she would succeed in conquering the world so much that he put another mortgage on his house just to help finance her album.

However, the name Céline Dion became one of the most famous ones after she represented Switzerland in the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest.

She became known internationally, and her everlasting hits, such as My Heart Will Go On, Because You Loved Me, The Power of Love and Where Does My Heart Beat Now, helped her stay on the top for that many years.

Dion became one of the biggest-selling recording artists of all time and has won numerous awards, including Golden Globe Awards and Academy Awards.

Dion and Rene, who was 26 years her senior, tied the knot in 1994 after dating for seven years. They have three sons together. Sadly, Rene passed away in 2016 after he lost his battle with throat cancer.

Dion was devastated. But she had to move on because of her sons.

In the past few years, the singer was heavily criticized because of her looks. Many of her fans believe that her overly skinny figure makes her look unhealthy. However, the singer responded to the criticism and said she didn’t need anyone telling her how to look. “It pisses people off that I am thin and I don’t make any effort. I have been thin all my life. Nobody in my family is overweight,” she told The Guardian.

A few days ago, she posted an old photo of her which brought both smiles and nostalgia to many of her fans and followers. The beautiful photo was taken some 25 years ago and it shows the singer rocking a short hair and wearing tight dress.

The beautiful photo was posted along with a caption regarding her album Falling Into You for which the photo was taken.

I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since we released ‘Falling Into You’! (I think I was only 10 at the time! LOL… I wish!) Our world has changed so much since then and who knows what’s coming next, but 25 years later I still love performing the songs on this album and I can’t wait to do that again!”, Celine Dion wrote.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my music a small part of your lives and for your love and support throughout all these years! As things continue to improve out there, please stay safe and healthy until we’re able to get back together again and celebrate – Love Celine.“

We love Dion and her music so much. After the pandemic is finally over, her European Courage World Tour will go on as planned, and honestly, we can’t wait.

Garbage truck driver spots tiny dog in trash collection and saves her life

The morning of July 19 started just like any other for a garbage truck driver from Michigan. Little did he know, however, that the day would end up in the most unexpected manner and that he would be dubbed a hero by the members of his community.

Namely, as this Granger Waste Services’ employee was doing his job, he noticed something moving inside the trash collection. As he took a closer look, he spotted a terrified dog among the debris.

He took the fragile animal in his hands and saved her life. Had it not been for this man, the dog could have suffered a horrific death.

One thing that neither he, nor the organization that took the animal under their care could understand was how did the poor creature end up there. That particular route was for commercial-grade dumpsters, which meant the dog experienced quite an ordeal before being rescued.

Capital Area Humane Society shared the incredible rescue story on their Facebook page, writing: “It is almost unbelievable that she endured being transferred from a dumpster, into a garbage truck, and then, endured the journey and the unloading process.”

Currently, the Ingham County Animal Control is investigating the case. Luckily, the dog recovered from the injuries, but due to the ongoing investigation, she can’t be put up for adoption just yet.

We are so thankful to the driver who saved the dog and hope she will be able to find a loving family in the near future.

Simone Biles’ boyfriend says they are “a match made in Heaven”

Simone Biles being part of the Tokyo Olympics is just another gem in her career’s crown of glory. This time, with her decision to withdraw from the competition, she became sort of a spokesperson for the importance of the mental health. “It’s been a long week. It’s been a long Olympic process. It’s been a long year. Just a lot of different variables and I think we’re just a little bit too stressed out, but we should be out here having fun and sometimes that’s not the case,” she said after announcing her withdrawal, as per USA Today.

At only 24, Biles has already accomplished a lot. During the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016, she got three golden medals and a bronze and helped put gymnastics on the pedestal.

Biles’ life hasn’t always been easy. As a young child, she and her sisters were part of the foster system before their grandparents could adopt them. Her grandmother Nellie, whom the star calls ‘mom,’ has always been very supportive of Biles’ dreams. “She encourages me and never lets me feel down about something for too long,” Biles told CNN.

In her Facebook series Simone vs. Herself, she spoke of the time she and her siblings were taken from their mother and then given to their grandparents.

“I don’t remember a lot about foster care, but I definitely knew that we had been taken from our biological mom and then you just think you’re going to go back to her,” she wrote. “[Me and my siblings] were very fortunate that we actually got to stay with our siblings because a lot of the time you either get regrouped from home to home to home or you and your siblings get split up.”

Biles’ fell in love with gymnastics “by accident,” or better said after a serendipitous encounter with the equipment used in the sport that would help her reach for the stars. Namely, as part of the daycare program she attended when she was just 6, they were supposed to go on a trip to a farm, but after the weather went bad, they were taken to a tumbling gym instead.

“The minute I got inside Bannon’s, I saw all kinds of equipment made for just my size – low beams and low bars and floor vaults that I was eager to try,” she wrote in her book Courage to Soar.

“I watched a gymnast do a back handspring skill on the vault, and I immediately wanted to try out the same move on the kiddie springboard. I let loose, going from one apparatus to the other, trying to copy skills I saw the older gymnasts practicing in the gym.”

At the age of 13, Biles was spending more than 16 hours a day at the gym practicing. She even decided to be home schooled in order to be able to practice more hours.

Biles made her international debut at the American Cup in 2013 and the rest is history. That same year, Biles won her two first World Championships.

Although she has a number of commitments she needs to answer to, our superstar still finds the time for love. Biles is dating 26-year-old Jonathan Owens, an NFL player for the Houston Texas. The two met through the dating app Raya. At the time they started chatting, Owens claimed he had no idea who Biles was.

“I didn’t know who she was,” he told Texas Monthly. “I just hadn’t heard of her, and when I told her that, that’s one of the things she liked.”

“He would say I slid into his DMs,” Biles told Wall Street Journal Magazine. “I saw him and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s pretty cute,’ so I said hi … and then I saw that he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit, and then we went to hang out a week or two later.”

Couple of weeks into dating, Biles’ sister invited Owens to a family lake house. Her family liked him very much.

“We ended up hanging out right before the pandemic,” Owens said. “It was one of the few times in her life where everything was just shut off and she couldn’t do anything. So we used it to get to know each other — really get to know each other. It created our bond and made it stronger.”

Biles and Owens have been together for over a year now and he says they are a match made in Heaven.

“He’s a real man. I just, I love him,” Biles told Today. “We have a great time together. Our personalities match right up. We have the same sense of humor. And he’s just great. He’s an athlete, too, so we really understand each other and I think that’s why our relationship has been seamless.”

We believe these two make an awesome couple. We wish them only the best.

Two enormous sea lions steal a boat and take it for a joyride

What happens when two enormous sea lions decide to spend the day sailing instead of swimming? One of the most hilarious videos of animals there are, I’d say. Now if you wonder how is it even possible for sea lions to sail, just hear this man’s incredible story. And yes, there’s a proof of it, because who would believe him if he said he spotted these hilarious creatures on a boat.

It all started when Joshua Phillips, a former professional football player, was at open sea enjoying the day in his boat. In the distance, he noticed quite an unusual sight and that’s when he decided to approach closer and take his camera out.

“The vessel looked a little off, and we got closer and closer and realized there were two massive animals on board,” Phillips wrote on Instagram.

The sea lions, who were way bigger than what most of us have ever seen, are having the time of their life and enjoy the joyride in the Eld Inlet, not far from Olympia, Washington. If you want to know how huge they really are, just take a closer look at the boat they “stole” and you’ll notice the back of it is almost completely under the waterline.

However, as much as love watching these cute creatures having fun, we can only hope there weren’t any people stuck inside the cabin.

The best part is when a third sea lion tries to join his friends on the ride but they won’t allow it climb. Honestly, it’s not that they are not friendly, but there wasn’t really much space for another huge animal to climb on.

Robin William’s son, Zak, honors his late father on his 70th birthday: “We miss you and love you always!”

The charm late Robin Williams was able to enchant the audience with is immeasurable. His incredible acting and his vibrant personality helped him become one of the most loved actors and humans who have ever walked this Earth.

Unfortunately, behind his captivating spirit and smile, he was facing his struggles and was fighting his demons.

July 21 marked what would have been Williams’ 70 birthday and his son Zak decided to open up about the life without his loving father by his side. “Dad, on what would be your 70th birthday, I would want you to know that your incredible spirit lives within us,” 38-year-old Zak wrote on Instagram. “Our family will be celebrating you and your memory today. We miss you and love you always!”

During the last years of his life, Williams’ health started to fail. The man who could memorize thousands of lines without making a single mistake, started having troubles remembering on set. Unfortunately, that frustrated him a great deal and led to anxiety. “It was a period for him of intense searching and frustration,” Zak said speaking to Max Lugavere for the podcast The Genius Life, as reported by Fox News. “It’s just devastating.

Williams was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, but after his death, the autopsy revealed he had Lewy Body Dementia (LBD), a neurological disease in which protein deposits, called Lewy bodies, develop in nerve cells in the brain regions involved in thinking, memory and movement (motor control). According to an article by the Mayo Clinic, “people with Lewy body dementia might have visual hallucinations and changes in alertness and attention.”

Speaking of his father’s misdiagnosis, Zak said: “What he was going through didn’t match one to one [with] many Parkinson’s patients’ experience.”

Williams’ wife, Susan Schneider Williams, also opened up about the actor’s misdiagnosis. “All 4 of the doctors I met with afterwards and who had reviewed his records indicated his was one of the worst pathologies they had seen. He had about 40% loss of dopamine neurons and almost no neurons were free of Lewy bodies throughout the entire brain and brainstem,” she wrote for Neurology.

Once he became a father himself, Zak honored Robin Williams by naming his newborn son McLaurin “Mickey” Clement Williams. McLaurin was Robin Williams’ middle name.

In an episode of The Me You Can’t See, Zak revealed just how much his life resembled that of his late dad at times. “I started to realise elements of myself that were like him [Robin]. My anxiety, my bouts of depression, OCD, drugs, drinking like him.”

“It’s only in hindsight that you see ‘wow there’s a generational issue going on,'” Zak added. “I love being a parent, it’s the best thing ever. Do I see it as an opportunity to break a generational cycle? Yeah, there’s a major opportunity to show up for my son clear eyed and focused. To be there for him.”

Robin Williams, the “bold” comedian with a “kind and gentle spirit,” died of suicide in 2014. May God rest his soul. He was truly one of a kind both as an actor and as a human.

Woman living in the woods of Wales gives tour of her tiny earthen home

Many people dream of establishing close connection with the nature, but not many are willing to give up their lives in the crowded cities or give up all the modern utilities which facilitate our existence.

Emma, a woman who lives in the most unique earthen home we have ever seen, located in the woods of Wales, turned to the simple life; the one without electricity or any other type of modern equipment. She is completely devoted to the nature and uses running water and fire to cook her meals for which she grows her own fruits and veggies. Emma also owns chickens and goats and has fresh eggs and milk every single day.

And yes, this way of living means no rent, no neighbors, and no electricity bills.

Recently, Emma opened the doors to her home, which she built herself using only natural materials such as plaster, clay, and straw bales, to Bryce Langston of Living Big in a Tiny House. Needless to say, he was left speechless by the unique hut which many agree resembles those of The Shire in The Lord of the Rings.

Who wouldn’t want a cozy place like this?

Of course, living in the woods isn’t easy. Emma needs to carry water in the home from the nearby river and chop wood all by herself. The good thing is that she enjoys it.

Inside the 4 meter long home, there is a fireplace and huge windows with no curtains which allow natural lighting. The ceiling resembles a piece of art, and what Emma likes best about it is the sense of equality the perfectly arranged rafters give.

There are no rafts or cupboards as everything is on display and easy to access.

Man added some cash inside a lost wallet before returning it to its rightful owner

They say that even the tiniest acts of kindness can go a long way, and the good deed one stranger did for a young man who lost a valuable belonging went viral and reminded us that we should never lose our faith in humanity.

Hunter Shamatt, a 20-year-old man from Brandon, South Dakota, headed to Vegas to his sister’s wedding and was hoping to have the best time. He did have lots of fun, but one thing made him feel very worried at the same time. Namely, Hunter lost his wallet along with $60 cash, a paycheck on $400, his debit card, and his ID. He had to borrow money from his relatives in order to be able to spend a few days in Vegas.

Speaking to The Washington Post, Hunter, who works as a carpenter, said: “It kind of sucked. I was anxious not having my ID… It being Vegas and all, I figured it was gone forever.”

To his surprise, just after he somehow managed with the plane company to return home, Hunter got a package. Inside was his wallet and a note signed with initials only. It read:

“Hunter, found this on a Frontier flight from Omaha to Denver – row 12, seat F wedged between the seat and wall. Thought you might want it back. All the best. P.S. I rounded your cash up to an even $100 so you could celebrate getting your wallet back. Have Fun!!!”

Wow! The man not only returned Hunter’s wallet, but he treated him with $40 as well.

Hunter’s mom, Janine, shared the note on her Facebook page, and they managed to track the good Samaritan down. It was a man named Todd Brown.

Hunter then sent a letter to Brown thanking him for his incredibly kind deed.

“Sir, I can’t thank you enough. What you’ve done for me is virtually unheard of.

Never in my life have I or my family witnessed such generosity. I never expected to see my wallet again, let alone with $40 more. Thank you so much, I’ve got student loans and a truck loan and it makes all the difference.”

What an uplifting story!
