Kirstie Alley reveals she wanted intimate relationship with Patrick Swayze

Although minor, the role of half-Vulcan officer Saavik in the film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan meant a breakthrough for actress Kirstie Alley.

She was born on January 12, 1951 in Wichita, Kansas, but moved to California to make a name for herself. At the time, the desire to be a celebrity would make a person not humble, and pursuing a career in the industry when you were born in Kansas wasn’t easy, but Kirstie was determined to take her life into her own hands.

In 1981, the actress suffered a tragedy after she lost her mother in a car crash. A drunk truck driver hit her parents’ car. Her dad was seriously injured and Kirstie never found the courage to forgive the killer although he asked from her to accept his apology for the life lost and the pain he caused.

Kirstie’s career took off soon after she had her first role.

She was cast as Gloria Steinem in the TV movie A Bunny’s Tale, and in 1985, she had a minor role in the miniseries North And South. During filming along Patrick Swayze, Kirstie felt strong attraction for the Hollywood legend. In her book, which was published in 2012, The Art of Men (I Prefer Mine al Dente), she wrote how she once begged Swayze to have sex with her, but he turned her down because she was drunk.

“I want to make love with you. I just don’t care anymore, let’s just do it,” she told Swayze. “This man and I never had sex or did sexual things, but I consider what we did more dangerous and a betrayal to our spouses,” she said, according to The Daily Mail. This happened just a year after she tied the knot with second husband Parker Stevenson. Swayze was married to wife Lisa for 10 years at the time.

While appearing in Celebrity Big Brother, the award winning actress also spoke of another celebrity actor she had feelings for. In fact, she sad she is still “in love” with him. That person is John Travolta. “He was potential marriage material. I almost ran off and married John,” she said. “I did love him and still love him,’ she reflected. ‘And if I hadn’t been married I would have gone and married him. And I would have been in an airplane.”

Kisrtie has struggled with her weight most of her life, but a few years back, she finally set her mind to eating and living healthier.

Her weight loss journey is truly inspirational.

“It’s so important for women to look the way they want to look and feel the way they want to feel for their own reasons, not because someone’s telling them to or because it’s fashionable or trendy,” she told Women’s Health in 2014, when she got back to Jenny Craig’s program. “Losing weight is losing weight, but just because you’re skinny does not mean you’re happy.”

Last year, Kirstie was diagnosed with Lyme disease and it makes it a bit more difficult for her to maintain her weight. ”I know when I’m on the thinner side, I love the way I feel. I have more energy,” she said in podcast The Dan Wootton Interview.

We truly love Kirstie and we are happy she’s happy!

Kate Middleton sends her congratulations and “can’t wait” to meet baby Lilibet

The relationship between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle could be described as picture perfect back in the day when the two could be seen hanging out together during numerous royal occasions, as well as a tennis match.

Magazines reported that Kate was always more than happy to lend a helping hand to Meghan when baby Archie was born. However, what was presented in the media seemed to be far from what was going on behind closed doors.

During the all-tell Oprah interview, among the rest, Meghan spoke about Kate and said that she made her cry on the day of her wedding. In fact, when Oprah asked Meghan if she made Kate cry, she said exactly the opposite happened. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were shocked, to say the least, after they heard those accusations. A US Weekly source said that “Kate would never forgive Meghan for throwing shade at her.”

“The interview was the final nail, it’s over. Meghan burned all of her bridges and Kate has no interest in speaking to her,” the source added.

Another source told Mail Online in April: “First and foremost, William cannot countenance the way Meghan has treated his wife. He feels Kate tried at the beginning, but it was never enough.

“To name Kate so publicly during the Oprah interview as the person who made her cry was beyond the pale. Meghan would have been acutely aware that Kate is powerless to fight back.”

What could have been the final straw that forced Meghan away from the family is a senior royal telling her that she would never be in first division the way Kate has, according to royal author Tom Quinn. Apparently, Meghan wasn’t happy with the fact that Kensington Palace was reserved solely for William and Kate.

Today, Meghan and Harry are settled in their $14 million dollar property in Montecito, California. They became parents for the second time and announced the birth of their daughter earlier in June.

A spokesperson for the couple said: “It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world.

“Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.

“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.

“This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they  enjoy this special time as a family.”

Congratulations came pouring in, and Kate and William were among the well-wishers. “We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie,” they wrote on their Instagram account.

Last week, before the G7 meeting, the press got a chance to speak to Kate and they made sure they asked her about Lilibet.

“I wish her all the very best. I can’t wait to meet her,” Kate Middleton said. “We haven’t met her yet, so hopefully that will be soon.”

Kate was also the one who was reported to have “forced” her husband and Harry into talking during their late grandfather’s funeral. It looks like she’s ready to put the differences aside and forgive Meghan for accusing her of making her cry on her wedding day.

Airline rejects letting dad and newborn baby on plane so widow takes them home

Getting to be a parent is for most people one of the most incredible things that life can give to us, however, it can also be really scary too, especially if you don’t have people there to support you!

Rubin Swift had sole custody of his daughter, he left his hometown in Cleveland, Ohio, to pick up his newborn little girl, he was so glad to meet four-day-old Ru-Andria.

He really couldn’t wait to bring her home to meet his friends and family too…

When he went to Sky Harbor International airport with Ru-Andria and was getting ready to check in, he was stopped right where he stood…

Even though he had the correct papers, a doctors certificate to say that Ru-Andria could fly, the airline, Frontier, said no she can’t fly!

It seemed they have a policy that says that babies under seven days old cannot fly on their airline, according to azfamily.com.

Stuck in a city that he didn’t know, without anyone to help him at all, Rubin felt himself begin to panic...

He suddenly remembered that there was an elderly woman that he met in the hospital. Joy Ringhofer happens to be a volunteer at the Banner University Medical Center and she had held little Ru-Andria just minutes after the girl was born.

As Rubin first entered the room, he and Joy had got along so well, the two began a great friendship.

It was a real long shot, however, he had no other choice, he called Joy and told her the situation he was in.

Thankfully, Joy didn’t have to even think for a single second, just as Rubin had thought…

What she did was quite special:

“I didn’t expect her to say, ‘I’m coming to get you and take you home.’ So, I’m thinking, ‘She is going to drive me back to Cleveland’ but she actually brought me to her house and feeding me and making sure my baby is alright.”

Then after, what followed during the course of the next three days, it’s definitely proof that there still really are good people in the world.

Take a look at this video to see what happened:

Queen Elizabeth invites Prince Harry to lunch at Windsor Castle

Throughout her life, as well as her reign of almost 70 years, Her Majesty The Queen has seen it all. From Charles and Diana’s tumultuous marriage back in the day, to her son’s Andrew connection to the infamous sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the loss of her beloved husband, and Harry and Meghan’s row with the royal family. However, what we can all agree on is that she’s handling each of the obstacles at the best of her abilities, without creating much fuss.

The most recent events which made all eyes be on the Royal Family are Harry and Meghan’s acts. After they announced their decision to move to the States and leave Britain behind, it was reported by many media outlets that the Queen wasn’t consulted at all, which left the family infuriated.

However, the Sussexes didn’t stop there. On the contrary, they decided to speak publicly of what was going on behind closed doors within The Firm. Among the rest, during their interview with Oprah, Harry and Meghan accused the royals of not providing help for Meghan when she came forward about her mental struggles and her suicidal thoughts. They even said how a senior royal questioned Archie’s skin color before he was born.

The Queen decided not to comment on the accusations. The Palace only provided a short statement on her behalf saying that the family will solve things privately and that Harry and Meghan will always be much loved members of the family.

After the interview, Harry visited Britain for his grandfather’s funeral and talked to his family. However, not much changed in terms of their fragile relationship back then as rumors were he felt “ambushed” and didn’t want to discuss matters without Meghan by his side.

According to the media, it was Prince Charles in particular who was having a hard time forgiving his son for dragging the family name through the mud, but after the birth of Lilibet, he was reported to have started having regular contacts with Harry. The Queen will apparently do the same. As per the Daily Mail, Queen Elizabeth invited Harry for lunch at Windsor during his upcoming visit to Britain for the unveiling of the statue of his late mother, Princess Diana, on what would have been her 60th birthday.

“It’s a typically magnanimous gesture by Her Majesty,” a courtier said, as per the Daily Mail. “The lunch will be a chance for them to talk things through.”

Knowing that Her Majesty has a soft spot for Harry, this could be just the perfect opportunity for them to talk things through and mend what seems to be broken.

Woman spots a homeless man pushing a cart full of stray dogs, stops to learn his story

Never in his wildest dreams did a homeless man named Steve think that a chance encounter with a woman named Alicia would change his life dramatically.

Steve has been a homeless man for almost 20 years. His life on the streets of California wasn’t an easy one, but he was never alone. In fact, Steve made friends with the local stray dogs who shared his fate of fending for themselves and being left on their own. Over the years, this man poor in money but rich in heart would spend all he had to feed the 11 dogs who became his life companions.

One day, Steve took to Indiana to visit a friend and took his dogs with him. He built a vehicle using an old bike and a shopping cart and embarked on an adventure that would soon turn serendipitous.

As he was pedaling the “vehicle,” Alicia Edrington spotted him and the sight of him and all those dogs caught her attention. At first, she ignored him, but she somehow couldn’t help but approach and ask where he was going with that many dogs. It was then that Steve shared his life story with her. Alicia was touched to the core and made it her mission to help him. She has never seen someone who loved animals that much. Although he couldn’t even provide enough money even for himself, he did all he could to keep his dogs fed and taken care of.

The first thing she did was contact local rescue organizations. Many were more than happy to step in and placed Steve and his dogs at a pet-friendly motel. However, it was just a temporary solution and everyone knew more than that had to be done in the days to come.

Alicia and the organizations came up with the idea to share Steve’s story on the social media and they even started a fundraiser. They did believe kind people would help, but never knew that so many individuals would be touched by the story.

In just a couple of days, thousands of people donated money and all the dogs were able to get medical attention.

On top of that, Steve was given his own trailer to call his home. He and his furry pals who were by his side during his tough days won’t be homeless any longer. What a happy ending for a huge animal lover.

Teen commits suicide worrying over A-level exam results – Heartbroken dad congratulates him at his grave

The coronavirus pandemic which claimed the lives of a huge number of people worldwide and affected the rest in one way or another, along with the lockdown and the strict measures imposed by the governments, has left many suffering from depression and other forms of mental struggles.

Unfortunately, the situation changed the lives of many young people, among which that of a teen named Matthew Mackell who took his own life on May 6, 2020. Matthew was worried for his future and for the results of his A-level exams and wrote in his diary that the lockdown only made things worse for him and increased his anxiety more and more with each passing day.

“He was worried about his results and he was scared he was going to be in a dead-end job and he didn’t know where to go with lockdown,” Matthew’s father Michael Bond told KentOnline. “He lost his job too because of the virus and it all had a knock-on effect.”

Before the tragedy took place, Matthew called the police at around 10:18 pm and told the dispatcher: “Can you send someone to pick me up, I’m about to kill myself.”

After calling his number back, Matthew picked up the phone twice. The first time, he said he was “okay,” and the second time, he hung up without saying anything. At the time the police managed to locate him through the signal of his phone, Matthew was already dead at the park, according to Mirror.

A few months after his passing, Matthew’s test results came in. He scored an A in his favorite subject, finance. His devastated father said: “It’s a bittersweet feeling because I’m proud and I congratulated him at his grave but I just wish he was here. I don’t know about any of his other subjects yet.”

Further investigation will reveal how the police handled Matthew’s emergency call.

As quoted by Mirror, his father said: “I just can’t believe it’s happened. He left a message on his mobile phone screensaver saying ‘Hi you’ve found me. Tell my family I love them and to be there for each other. I’m struggling through life.’ I knew he was a popular lad to be around, always making people laugh, but I’ve found out how strong he was. He didn’t have any problems in the world but in his mind he had too many – especially with the lockdown.”

Having gone through such a devastating loss in his life, Michael has advice for students who are waiting for their exam results. “My advice is go and sit with a teacher and talk to them because they are still there to help. Just because schools are closed doesn’t mean there’s no-one to talk to.” He hopes no other student would ever feel the way Matthew had.

Michael still sends text messages to Matthew’s phone number. On the day the teen’s results came in, Michael wrote: “Hi mate just got your results today You got an A. You did fantastic mate you should be well proud of yourself. I hope you’re getting my text messages in heaven. I’m so proud of you mate and I’m so proud to be your dad. Fly high darling my love forever dad.”

A memorial tree was planted at Dunorlan Park in Matthew’s memory. May he rest in peace.

Lions walks on grass for the first time after spending their lifetime locked inside a cage

Being given the chance to live in their natural habitat, animals thrive. In fact, the nature is the only place where wild animals should spend their days. Sadly, a huge number of them end up locked up and are used for profit by the people.

Take the circus for example. Many lions, tigers, bears, snakes, monkeys, elephants, and other species, are forced to perform for the crowds who are cheering out loud, probably not being aware of the animals’ suffering.

The animals pay the ultimate price, and the good thing is that this starts to change, one step at a time, all thanks to animal lovers, advocates, and organizations throughout the world.

Recently, the government in Guatemala passed a law which bans circuses from using animals.

As a result, all those creatures who lived locked inside cages got to experience freedom for the first time in their life. Among the rescued animals were nine tigers and five lions who were taken in by Animal Defenders International (ADI) and placed at a temporary rescue center build especially for them.

The journey towards liberty of two of the lions, Tarzan and Tanya, was caught on tape. It truly shows the ultimate satisfaction of the hard work by the organizations which fought for these creatures’ freedom.

Tanya stepped out of the cage first, and Tarzan followed her. They stepped on grass for the first time ever, and everyone who saw the video could feel their relief.

After they went through the process of rehabilitation, Tarzan and Tanya were sent to their permanent home, a sanctuary in South Africa.

Elderly man’s lawnmower is stolen – anonymous donor buys him a brand new one

This incredible story sparks rays of hope and reminds us that humanity is still going strong.

Gordon Blakeslee, an 85-year-old man from Harpursville, New York, was forced to spend some time with his son because of the pandemic. However, while he was away from home, someone stole his riding lawnmower and that left Gordon heartbroken because taking care of his yard and lawn is one of the things that keeps him busy and makes him feel useful. On top of that, he says that others, and that includes his son, cut the grass too short.

Source: YouTube/WBNG 12 News

Not having an idea who could do such a cruel thing as stealing from him, Gordon posted a sign in front of his home saying: “Bring back my mower, I’m 85 years old and I can’t push.”

This turned out to be the right thing to do because the sign led to a solution to Gordon’s problem. Someone willing to step in saw Gordon’s plea and decided to buy him a brand new riding lawnmower. The person wanted to stay anonymous and asked the Broome County Sheriff’s Office to deliver Gordon his present.

Needless to say, this elderly man was over the moon. As the thief made him question humanity, the donor helped him restore his faith in it.

“Thank you, what else can I say. I really appreciate it,” Gordon said. “It’s got some new upgrades to it; that’s a lot better than my old one.”
