Bruce Willis’ health is deteriorating, and his family is praying for a Christmas miracle

When the world learned that the Die Hard actor Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia, a condition which affects one’s ability to communicate, everyone is praying for his well-being. Unfortunately, the diagnosis meant the end of his rich and very much successful Hollywood career.

The devastating news was shared by Bruce’s family who took to Instagram to inform the fans of the heartbreaking decision.

They wrote, “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” adding that he’ll be “stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”

The statement further read: “This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.

Bruce has been taken care of by his wife Emma Heming Willis who is always by his side, although she has admitted that she don’t have it easy, as well as Bruce’s ex-wife Demi Moore with whom he shares three daughters.

People close to the family say that Demi spends a lot of time with Bruce and when she’s unable to be by his side she is in touch with Emma, with whom she is very close.

They all hope to get as much time with the Pulp Fiction star as they can as his health is deteriorating, according to sources close to the family who also claim that “Bruce can’t say much, and it doesn’t appear like he understands much of what people say,” so Emma serves as his spokesperson and communicator.

“There are occasions when they catch glimmers of the old Bruce, but they are few and far between,” the sources claimed. “The girls can’t envision Christmas without Bruce,” they added.

As Christmas is approaching, things get even harder for the actor’s family. His older daughters miss their old dad who often teased them about their partners and was always there for them.

The family is praying for a Christmas miracle and so are we.

10-year-old boy who died in frozen Solihull lake hailed as hero trying to save others

Jack Johnson is a 10-year-old boy who lost his life trying to save those of three other children whom he didn’t even know. The tragedy, in which three children lost their lives, including Jack, and a fourth is in a critical condition took place on Sunday, December 11 while the boys were playing at Babbs Mill Park in Solihull, West Midlands.

It has been reported that the moment Jack noticed the three boys falling into the lake through the thin ice, he didn’t hesitate even a second before jumping to their rescue.

Losing Jake left his family in a state of shock and devastation.

His aunt Charlotte McIlmurray took to Facebook to share how humble and special her nephew was and offered her condolences to the families whose children died on Sunday.

“The 10-year-old boy is my nephew. He seen one go threw the ice an he ran an tried to save them.

“Our prayers and thoughts are with the other family. We are just broken over it.

“To find out he died trying to save 3 lads he didn’t even know, that just sums him up. He was amazing.”

The bodies of the four boys were pulled out of the lake by emergency services.

One of the officers who punched through ice in an effort to rescue the boys was treated for mild hypothermia.

“Police officers did go into into the water,” Superintendent Richard Harris of West Midlands Police said.

“They were joined by other members of the other emergency services. Some of the officers went in waist-deep.

“One of my officers was trying to punch through the ice to actually rescue the children themselves. That officer as a result of that had some mild hypothermia yesterday. I’m pleased to say that he’s now been released from hospital and he’s absolutely fine.”

The statement released by the police department read, “Three boys have tragically died after falling into the lake at Babbs Mill Park in Solihull yesterday afternoon.

“The boys, aged 11, 10 and eight, were rushed to hospital after being pulled from the water.

“Sadly, they could not be revived and our thoughts are with their family and friends at this deeply devastating time. We’ll have specialist officers offering them as much support as we can.

“A fourth boy, aged six, remains in a critical condition in hospital.

“We’ve been working alongside colleagues from the fire and ambulance services as we do all we can to support those involved.

“Searches of the lake are continuing as we seek to establish exactly what happened and if anyone else fell into the water.

“We understand how distressing this is for the families and the wider community.

“We would ask people to not speculate or share any video footage at this stage.”

Jake’s family hailed him a hero for his selfless act. May he and the other boys who lost their lives rest in peace.

We can never thank our servicemen and women enough for their sacrifice and for everything they do for our country. It is because of them that we don’t fear for our safety or our future.

Their absence leaves an empty seat at the dinner table during significant events and a hole in the hearts of their family members who can’t wait to see their heroes back home save and sound.

The reunions which usually take place after long months are the best part of all. Once the service is over, or the military men and women get a chance to visit their loved ones, emotions come pouring in.

YouTube

Although he was still a teenager when he enlisted to be part of the U.S. Marines, Lance Corporal Rowan Richter knew that protecting the country was his calling.

His parents felt nervous about their young son embarking on such perilous mission, but they understood it was what he always dreamed of. Aware of the dangers his future career brought, they weren’t at ease knowing he would be deployed and away from home for a long time. However, despite their fears, they supported Rowan’s wish.

He was bale to call them every now and then, but they still missed him dearly.

YouTube

Knowing just how much his family was eager to see him, Rowan decided to surprise them with the help of his father. When the entire family got inside the car, the dad asked them to pose for a selfie. Just as he took the photo, Rowan’s head popped up from the back of the vehicle. The dad then said: “Ah, wait Rowan, a little to the right…” Surprised by her husband’s comment, Rowan’s mom screamed in confusion: “ROWAN?”

When she turned around and saw her son, she couldn’t handle her excitement, nor Rowan’s sisters.

The video of this Marine’s surprise has been seen more than 5 million times.

One person commented: “Awesome!! As a mom of a Navy Sailor, it is wonderful to see the homecomings!! It brought tears to my eyes!!” Another added: “This is the best homecoming videos I’ve seen. LOVE IT. :D”

Considering his condition and the severity of the injuries he sustained, Kyle’s survival was a real miracle.

Burn survivor who didn’t leave home for years now owns his own bakery – ‘I am more than how I look’

Life isn’t always fair. Many times, we face struggles that are too big for us to be able to overcome and it feels like there is no way out, but God always finds a way to show us that not everything is lost.

Ngo Quy Hai is a 27-year-old man who has lived most of his life hidden from the rest of the world. The reason why is because he’s a burn survivor who has been conscious of the stares by the people from his surrounding.

When the horrible incident took place, Hai, who is from Vietna, was still just a toddler. It all happened when he was pushing a baby walker to the kitchen and accidentally fell into an open wood stove. The burns he suffered were more than severe, but he managed to survive.

“Baby walkers were common back then and there wasn’t knowledge about how dangerous they can be,” Hai explained.

He was rushed to the Children’s Hospital 1 in Saigon where he spent two long years.

Surgeries followed one after another, but despite everything, he was still left with scaring all over his body and face. What’s most, he struggled with mental trauma both because of the accident itself and because he was bullied by other children because of his looks.

“I felt alone growing up and didn’t have many friends,” he explained. “I felt ostracized from society. When I tried to find work, I was mocked and ridiculed. I didn’t leave my house at one point for almost two years.”

Living a life in solitude was hard. Hai fell behind with his studies and felt devastated, but he then met a friend who understood exactly how he felt.

“Sometimes I think it is fate that brought us together,” Hai said of his new friend. “We’ve played together since we were very young and have experienced many joys and sorrows as we both shared the same sadness that no one wanted to play with us.”

With the help of his friend, who has disabilities, Hai managed to gather the courage to pursue his dream of owning a bakery. In fact, this dream was born as a result of an incident during which his friend was kicked out of a fancy bakery he wanted to visit for a long time.

“We were very poor so our clothes weren’t as fancy as some people’s and they didn’t listen to our explanation either. They chased us away,” Hai explained. “It was humiliating. But it’s an experience that has made me who I am today. It made me know in my heart what I wanted to do. I was going to open up my own bakery so I could bake delicious and beautiful cakes and serve good food to everyone, whether they be rich or poor. I would not discriminate; everyone would be welcome.”

When he shared his dream with his family, they were all very supportive. Hai then attended a hospitality training at a school in Hanoi and was ready to face the world after years of hiding.

He says that opening a bakery has been the best thing that has ever happened to him as it helped him with his confidence.

“It was lovely to see so many smiling faces,” he said. “I see a lot of children on the streets selling lottery tickets and I always invite them in for a piece of cake. We don’t know the hardships others have faced. Be kind.

“It’s my dream now to help others through similar hardships that I have been through. It is by giving back that one can make a difference in society.”

Hai’s story is so inspiring because it reminds us that we should always believe in our abilities no matter what and that we should try and love ourselves for who we are.

Cher’s mom, Georgia Holt, passes away at 96 – rest in peace

Georgia Holt, an American singer, actress, a former model and mother of pop queen Cher passed away aged 96.

The sad news was shared on Twitter by the ‘Goddess of Pop,’ who wrote, “Mom is gone,” next to a sad face emoji.

In the past, Cher opened up of her mother’s health issues due to her advanced age. Once, the singer revealed, “Sorry I’ve Been Mia. Mom’s Been Sick Off & On. She Just Got Out Of Hosp. She Had Pneumonia.”

In a 2013 documentary titled “Dear Mom, Love Cher,” featuring the life of Georgia Holt, Cher expressed her love and appreciation for her mother who had always been by her side and helped her become the woman that she is today.

Georgia Holt, born Jackie Jean Crouch on June 9, 1926 in Kensett, Arkansas, was married six times during her lifetime.

Her mother had her when she was just 13 years old and Georgia spent most of her childhood with her father who took her to nightclubs where she performed. She remembers her dad, Roy, as a caring father who wanted only the best for her. In hopes of a better life, Georgina and Roy moved to L.A. She changed a number of high school and recalls being the poorest kid in each of them. “I was the only poor kid in the school, and I was already insecure. But my voice saved me because I sang in school, and I was real popular because of my voice,” she said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune.

Holt was best known for her roles in The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. She also starred in I Love Lucy, Father’s Little Dividend and Lovely to Look At.

During the ’80s, Holt recorded an album, Honky Tonk Woman, but she only released it in 2013.

After Holt divorced Cher father shortly after giving birth, she was forced to leave her baby daughter in a Catholic orphanage.

Cher spoke of that in the documentary and said that her mom didn’t want to talk about it.

“I heard the abortion story when I was a teenager,” Cher revealed in the documentary.

“The orphanage story has been a touchy one for my mom her whole life, and she didn’t want to talk about it. I said, ‘Mom, why didn’t you just march in and take me?’ She said, ‘I didn’t have the power. I didn’t have any money or a job, and the church was so strong. I’d go see you every day and you’d be crying. You don’t know what it was like.’ It was harder for women then.”

Cher’s loss comes at a time when the other aspects of her life seem to be going as planned.

She is currently dating Alexander Edwards, a 36-year-old music producer who is 40 years her junior.

Speaking of their age gap, Cher twitted, “Love doesn’t know math, it sees [red heart emojis]. Rinpoche told me ‘some ppl [sic] meet, others ‘recognise’.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with Cher during these times of grief.

Will Smith is paying dearly for his smack and is currently dealing with the following issues

Over the years, actor Will Smith has received a number of awards, including an Oscar for his portrayal of Richard Williams, the father and coach of famed tennis players Venus and Serena Williams, in the biographical sports drama King Richard.

During the 94th Academy Awards ceremony, host Chris Rock made a joke about Will Smith’s wife Jada’s alopecia, which made Smith get on stage and hit Rock. As a result, the actor has been banned from attending Academy functions, including the Oscars, for ten years.

Although he offered his apologies some three months after the incident that left people in a state of shock, things don’t seem good for the Man in Black star whose career is suffering.

A number of his projects have been postponed and some have been even canceled.

Among the rest, the Netflix original film Fast and Loose, featuring Smith, was put on hold. Although the streaming giant claimed the delay of the movie had nothing to do with the Oscar’s incident, their move has been a huge blow for Smith’s career.

The stand-up comedy series produced by Smith, This Joka, will not be returning to Roku for a second series. Meanwhile, TMZ reported that Smith’s other Netflix projects, The Council and Bright 2 could also be canceled as a consequence of his violent actions.

Sony has also allegedly paused production on Bad Boys 4, and Apple is yet to give a release date for Emancipation, a biopic of abolitionist Harriet Tubman.

Smith said he has been sorry for the incident and expressed his regrets on numerous occasions.

When he announced his resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Smith said, “I responded immediately to the Academy’s notice of the disciplinary hearing.

“And I intend to assume full responsibility for my actions,” he added.

“I acted inappropriately at the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. Many individuals have been harmed as a result of my actions, including Chris, his family, countless friends and loved ones, everyone present, and spectators across the world who were watching at home. I betrayed the Academy’s trust.”

In a statement he released, Smith said he was sorry that he “deprived other nominees and winners of the opportunity to honor and be rewarded for their remarkable efforts.

“I want the Academy to keep doing the excellent job it does of supporting innovation and aesthetic expression in film,” he concluded. “I want the spotlight to shine on those who deserve it for their accomplishments.”

Smith is committed to making all in his power to ensure that violence should never again triumph over common sense and reason.

Al Roker is still in the hospital, which is unfortunate

After being admitted to the hospital for blood clots, Al Roker, the longtime Today show anchor, kept his fans updated of his health state.

“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been,” he began his post. “Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs.

“After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone,” he first posted on his social media.

Just before Thanksgiving, he posted a photo showing him getting ready to head home. He expressed his gratitude for all the good wishes and said he was sorry he missed this year’s Thanksgiving Parade.

“Alright, this is my version of the Thanksgiving Day parade. Getting ready to leave the hospital, time to blow this taco stand! Woohoo!” he said in a video.

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager commented under the video saying the parade wasn’t same without Al.

Later, he posted another update, a photo showing him with his thumbs up at home, watching his co-workers carry on the tradition without him for the first time after 27 years. “Back home in time to catch a little bit of the #macysthanksgivingdayparade Missing being next to @savannahguthrie and @hodakotb.”

Sadly, as it looked like the 68-year-old weatherman was feeling better, he was once again admitted to the hospital, a day after Thanksgiving.

During Al’s emergency transfer, a source close to the family said that his wife, Deborah Roberts, was “locked out of her car and couldn’t get inside it.”

Allegedly, “the automobile broke down,” leaving her unable to retrieve her possessions, including her phone.

Al’s daughter Leila made sure to thank her father’s fans for the enormous support.

“Thank you to all the great friends and family who have reached out. We are deeply grateful,” she posted in an Instagram story.

We hope Al Roker would recover as soon as possible.
