Kevin Costner didn’t want to have any more kids after fathering 4, then second wife gave him an ultimatum

Kevin Costner has always been one of my favorite actors. He has been part of a number of films he played in and directed, but I guess none of his roles is as iconic as that in The Bodyguard.

Costner only learned he was passionate about acting when he tried it accidentally during his college years. In fact, he never really dreamed of being part of Hollywood and wanted to pursue a career in finance instead. But you know what they say, things don’t always turn the way we want. And in the case of Costner, they turned way better than planned.

Shutterstock

The college years at the California State University didn’t only help Costner find his calling, but his huge love as well. There, in 1975, he met fellow student Cindy Silva whom he described as beautiful, charming, and way smarter than him. Three years later, they married and welcomed three children into the world. Costner told Closer Weekly that “being a dad is the most important thing in my life.” At the time, Costner still wasn’t famous and his career was only at the beginning. The pair stayed together for 16 years.

Kevin Costner and his ex-wife Cindy Costner

It was in 1983 that Costner got to film along famous names like Kevin Kline, William Hurt, Jeff Goldblum and Glenn Close, in the movie The Big Chill. And just as he thought this will be his big breakthrough, his scenes were cut off. That, however, didn’t discourage the young actor who knew his place belonged in the film industry. And he was right. Although his acting in this movie never saw the light of the day, what he showed on set was more than enough for director Lawrence Kasdan to offer him a role in Silverado.

Ever since, Costner got bigger and bigger roles and quickly made a name for himself.

After Silverado, he landed roles in The Untouchables (1987), Bull Durham (1988), Field of Dreams (1989) and Dances with Wolves, for which he earned two Academy Awards — Best Picture and Best Director, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and JFK.

It was in 1992 that he played the legendary role of the former special agent who worked as a bodyguard for the famous musician played by Whitney Houston. The iconic soundtrack, “I Will Always Love You,” created by Dolly Parton became the best-selling soundtrack of all time, selling more than 45 million copies.

Many believed that the onscreen chemistry between Costner and Houston was real, but the two seemed to be just two great friends who excelled their roles to perfection.

After the passing of Houston, Costner told Good Morning America, “She was a very important person to me and the world has connected us in a way that we’ll never not be (…) I didn’t really get a full grasp of that until the lead-up to the funeral where people somehow felt that it was important that I say something.”

The first woman in the actor’s life after his divorce was businesswoman Bridget Rooney who referred to him as Mr.Perfect. The couple had a son but didn’t stay together for long. After Rooney, Costner dated events organizer Brigit Cunningham who suffered a breakdown after the split from the famous actor. Next on the list of his girlfriends was model Elle Macpherson. Back in the day, Costner said, “I feel I have met my equal with this beautiful, talented, funny and lovely person,” but their relationship didn’t even last for a whole year.

Wikipedia

This led for one of the most famous celebrities to experience loneliness for a long period of time.

Well, until he finally met the love of his life and current wife Christine Baumgartner. The couple first dated and split because Costner didn’t want to have more children, to which the former model said, “I’m going to wait for you, but not long. When you come to your senses, come back to me’” and he did.

“I woke up and thought, ‘Am I going to lose a beautiful woman who is willing to be with me to my very last breath because I am afraid to say yes to a child?’” he said at the time. “That’s all it took. Sometimes you learn the thing you’re most afraid of will save your life.”

They eventually welcomed three children together, making the actor a father of seven.

“You get to play heroes in the movies, but there’s a moment in time where you’re just a father and you get to go home. I have played two roles in my life, one I get paid to do, which is the movies, and the other one is being a father, for which I’ll be rewarded my whole life,” he said.

Today, they have three children and are in love as they were the moment they laid eyes on one another.

Sad update on sweet girl who touched a whole world: ‘Our sweet angel baby has gained her wings’

Delaney Krings was a healthy child, or at least everyone assumed that to be the case.

One day, she complained of pain in the ear and her parents, Heather and Jack, took her to the hospital for a check-up. The doctor assured them she had an infection and prescribed medication. At first, it looked like the condition was getting better but Delaney then experienced other symptoms, such as loss of balance and that was when her mom and dad knew something was wrong.

Delaney was taken to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, where specialists performed several tests to determine what was wrong with the 4-year-old.

Unfortunately, in October 2022, the family learned the devastating diagnosis.

Delaney had brain cancer, and it was an aggressive one. This sweet little angel was only given six to eight weeks to live.

“Your heart stops for a minute. The world stops. You can’t breathe, you just try to process it. She’s four, you know?” Heather said.

In an attempt to make her final days worth living, Delaney’s parents wanted to do something special for her birthday, which they were told would be her last one.

Heather then asked from their family and friends to send her daughter birthday wishes, not knowing that the story would spread worldwide.

”The type of cancer she has, DMG, has very little positive response to any current treatment available,” Heather wrote in a CaringBridge post.

”In addition to the severity and size of her tumor when it was first found basically sealed her fate just 12 short weeks ago. I have read medical textbooks, research papers, etc. etc. etc. for months and have found very little hope in any of them.”

On December 16, Delaney turned 5 years old and she had a unique birthday celebration. This beautiful girl received over 15,000 birthday cards and plenty of videos from people from all over the world who sent their best wishes.

“On the maps that we have up, we have stickers to put for all of the locations for where the cards have come from, so Laney can see that she’s got love from all over the world from people she doesn’t even know. And it has taken off. I believe there were 400 cards in the mail today,” Heather said in December.

“As long as she still knows what’s going on, she can laugh, she can hear, she can see, she knows us, she remembers us. That clock, you have to ignore it because what’s our purpose here? To make whatever time she has left as best as we can.”

The Wisconsin Truck Takeover Enthusiasts organized a birthday procession for Delaney that drew up to 500 trucks and parade participants, making it extra special.

”I’m just happy she gets to enjoy her birthday. There’s no way to thank everybody, but, from the bottom of our hearts we appreciate everything,” Delaney’s dad, Jack Krings, told TMJ4 News in Milwaukee.

Unfortunately, Delaney lost her battle to cancer on January 28, 2023, breaking her parents’ hearts into a million pieces and crushing their world down.

“Our Sweet Angel Baby has gained her wings. Fly high, my sweet baby,” Delaney’s mother, Heather, wrote on CaringBridge and posted a photo of her daughter with the caption: “Delaney Judith Krings. 12.16.2017 — 1.28.2023. Fly high, my sweet baby.”

The GoFundMe page dedicated to Delaney read, “Like a flower that we see the beauty of for only a while, we all cherished every single day of Delaney’s 1,869 days on earth”. To those she knew, and those she never met, she made us all better people. Make her proud of you. Your heart, like ours, may be broken. But a broken heart has spaces that can now be filled with the glue of love. Enjoy the love of life in heaven Delaney.”

Heather want’s her daughter’s story will lead ”to be a ripple of simple acts of kindness. This world needs more love in it, and I believe that is what she was put here to provide. Love, pure and simple.”

Rest in peace, sweet angel.

Alec Baldwin formally charged with involuntary manslaughter in fatal ‘Rust’ shooting

The fatal shooting on the set of the movie Rust which was taking place in Santa Fe, Mexico, claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and left another injured. It was actor Alec Baldwin who accidentally killed Hutchins, a wife and a mother of one.

After the accident, Baldwin released a statement. “There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna.”

LA Times reported that prior to the fatal shot, a group of camera crew workers walked off set because safety protocols weren’t strictly followed. Camera operator Lane Luper was among those who left and was reported saying, “This set was unsafe simply because they didn’t have the wherewithal to follow safety rules that we have in this industry that we’ve been following for decades,” as per Sky News.

Late Hutchins family filed a wrongful death suit which names Baldwin and others who “are responsible for the safety on the set” and “reckless behavior and cost-cutting.”

Mark Sagliocco/Getty Images for National Geographic

As reported by Fox News, the lawsuit read: “Halyna Hutchins deserved to live, and the Defendants had the power to prevent her [passing] if they had only held sacrosanct their duty to protect the safety of every individual on a set where firearms were present instead of cutting corners on safety procedures where human lives were at stake, rushing to stay on schedule and ignoring numerous complaints of safety violations.”

Further, it said, “This lawsuit seeks justice for the losses of her survivors and to hold responsible those who caused her tragic [passing].”

The actor’s lawyers asked for any lawsuits to be dismissed claiming the tragedy was a “workplace accident.”

Yet in documents released earlier this week officially detailing the charges, as per the BBC, Baldwin is accused of being “distracted” while talking to family members on his mobile phone during training about how to operate the prop gun to be used on set.

However, on Tuesday, a Santa Fe district attorney announced Alec Baldwin and and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed would be charged with involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins.

“After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to file criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the ‘Rust’ film crew,” Mary Carmack-Altwies said.

“On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice.”

Both Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed are now formally charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

If Baldwin had performed mandatory safety checks with the film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, and not pointed the gun at Hutchins, the “tragedy would not have occurred,” Robert Shilling, a special investigator for the district attorney’s office, wrote in a statement of probable cause filed with the manslaughter charges.

“This reckless deviation from known standards and practice and protocol directly caused the fatal shooting,” he said.

“Baldwin knew the first rule of gun safety is never point a gun at someone you don’t intend on shooting.”

As of assistant director David Halls, he signed a plea agreement and will face six months of probation.

In the months following the shooting, investigators discovered 500 rounds of ammunition, among which blanks, dummies, and what looked like live rounds.

If found guilty, both Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed could spend up to 18 months in prison. They would also be forced to pay a $5,000 fine.

Their lawyers said they would be fighting the charges at court.

We are so very sorry that a young life was lost in such a manner.

While cleaning the beach with his friends, an 11-year-old receives a wonderful surprise – you’ll never guess what!

Serina, a Taiwanese student, was having a blast with her friends on Ishigaki island. In order to preserve the memories of that special day, she used a waterproof camera while scuba-diving. The camera also had a protective cover, but at one point, as Serina noticed one of her friends was in need of help following an emergency with the oxygen tank, she somehow dropped her camera.

Once she made sure her friend was safe and sound, Serina tried looking for the camera but it was nowhere to be seen. Of course, she never thought that some day, she would have it back again, but that is exactly what happened.

A group of students were cleaning the beach one day as part of a school project when they found something that resembled a strangely shaped rock. Once they took it in their hands, they realized it was a camera.

The biggest surprise was that the gadget, which was obviously lost at sea and dragged to the shore, was still working. It even had enough battery for them to turn it on and try to figure out who it belonged to.

In order to track the owner down, the teacher told the students to post some of the photos from the camera online. A bunch of shares later, Serina spotted the photographs and she could’t believe her eyes.

She was quick to contact the students and the teacher in order to inform them that the camera belonged to her.

The thing is that in order to get her gadget back, this young woman would need to travel from Japan to Taiwan. That means that the camera was carried by the waves more than 200 kilometers to a safe shore.

Isn’t this amazing?

Died at 75 – She was such a great actress

Cindy Williams, the beloved star best known for her portrayal of Shirley Feeney in the ’70s sitcom Laverne & Shirley, passed away aged 75 after a short illness, as reported by her family.

“The passing of our kind, hilarious mother, Cindy Williams, has brought us insurmountable sadness that could never truly be expressed,” the statement issued by her children Zak and Emily Hudson read, per AP. “Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege. She was one of a kind, beautiful, generous and possessed a brilliant sense of humor and a glittering spirit that everyone loved.”

Among the rest, Williams had a featured role in George Lucas’ 1973 classic American Graffiti opposite Ron Howard, a role that earned her a BAFTA nomination.

In Laverne & Shirley, the spin-off series of Happy Days, Williams starred opposite Penny Marshall who played Laverne DeFazio. The two played single working women in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the 1950s, and these roles helped them become household names adored by millions.

Speaking about working together, Williams revealed in a 2013 interview, “We sort of had telepathy. If we walk into a room together and if there’s something unique in the room, we’ll see it at the same time and have the same comment about it. We were always just like that.”

During the eight season, Williams got pregnant with her first child and left the show after an out-of-court settlement with Paramount.

“They had me working on my due date, and they couldn’t deal with it — that I needed time off to have a child,” Cindy told ET. “It just ended up I didn’t do that season of the show.”

She and Marshall appeared together once more in a Sam & Cat episode on Nickelodeon.

Marshall passed away in 2018, and touched Williams deeply.

Williams began her acting career in the early 1970s with guest-starring roles in TV shows such as Barefoot in the Park and Room 222. She was then cast by director George Cukor in 1972’s Travels With My Aunt and started getting bigger roles.

One of this iconic actress’ last TV guest appearances were in a 2004 episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and a 2016 episode of the Matthew Perry/Thomas Lennon reboot Odd Couple.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Cindy Williams’ family during these times of grief. May she rest in peace.

George and Charlotte have a very unusual nickname for their dad William

With everything that is going on within the British royal family, especially following the release of Harry’s book Spare in which he didn’t spare anyone, not even William and Kate’s children, the Prince and Princess of Wales make sure that the family feud doesn’t affect Prince George, Prince Charlotte, and their youngest child, Prince Louis.

Among the rest, Harry wrote that he wasn’t involved in George’s life as much as he wished because he wasn’t invited to Kate and William’s home as often besides the fact that they lived quite close to each other.

Further, Harry said that he fears Charlotte and George could experience his fate and “end up” just like him.

Karwai Tang/WireImage

“Though William and I have talked about it once or twice, and he has made it very clear to me that his kids are not my responsibility, I still feel a responsibility knowing that out of those three children, at least one will end up like me, the spare,” Harry said in an interview with The Telegraph.

“And that hurts, that worries me.

“I was brought into the world in case something happened to Willy, I was summoned to provide backup, distraction, diversion and, if necessary, a spare part. Kidney, perhaps. Blood transfusion. Speck of bone marrow. This was all made explicitly clear to me from the start of life’s journey and regularly reinforced thereafter.”

The royals didn’t comment on any of Harry’s accusations, but many royal authors slammed him for getting the children involved and speaking about them.

“Harry should lay off Prince William’s children. In fact, he should lay off everybody and button it now,” royal author Ingrid Seward told The Sun. “It is a very dangerous road to go down, to start talking about other people’s children.”

She added: “And what he says Prince William said to him is absolutely right – they are William’s responsibility and not his, so he should keep out of it.

“It is none of Harry’s business. But Harry has become dangerous to his family, and to himself, because he can lob in his little asides whenever he wants.”

William and Kate are doing all in their power to provide their children with a normal childhood, although they do prepare George for the life that awaits him as he would become a King one day. George will most likely begin working full-time as a royal by age 35, if not sooner. So for a future king, it’s crucial to be prepared.

As of now, the three siblings enjoy their childhood. They attend school and have plenty of friends. Besides being royals, they go by ordinary names at school. It has been revealed that George’s classmates call him “PG,” his initials. Otherwise, they are simply known as George Cambridge and Charlotte Cambridge.

They on the other hand, have a special nickname for their father, Prince William.

Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images

This doesn’t come as a surprise having in mind that the royals have always used nicknames. Late Queen Elizabeth was called Lilibet by her family because she couldn’t pronounce her name when she was a very young child. Harry was reported to call Kate Middleton ‘Cath,’ and his brother William, ‘Willy.’

As of the nickname his children gave to William, it was revealed by British TV chef Ainsley Harriott that the kids came up with it after listening to a radio interview he had done during which he jokingly spoke about cooking a fish in the bathtub.

“Greg asked, ‘could you cook a fish in the bath?’” Harriott recalled in an interview with The Sun. “I said, ‘yeah, if it’s a little bit of seabass or plaice or something like that.’ You wouldn’t want a thick bit of fish because it wouldn’t poach.

“Anyway, apparently, Prince William and Kate were taking George and Charlotte to school, and they found it hysterical.”

Shutterstock/360b

William later appeared on the radio station, saying, “The kids love it. They loved that you were talking about eating fish in the water.”

Harriott later changed his trademark catchphrase, “Why hello there, Jill,” – which had gone viral after he’d shown up to an elderly woman’s house to surprise her on live TV – to “Why hello there, Will. Poachy, poachy, poachy,” when he met William.

George and Charlotte found that hilarious and they now call their dad Poachy.

We believe that’s adorable. What about you?

Camilla was afraid to go out shopping and ‘hid in her house’ when affair with Charles was made public

The love between King Charles and his wife Camilla, who is now Queen Consort, dates back to 1972, when they first laid eyes on each other during a polo match.

The two were introduced to each other by a mutual friend, Lucia Santa Cruz, the daughter of the Chilean ambassador. They started dating, but the relationship didn’t last long as Charles left to serve in the Royal Navy. When his duties there came to an end and he returned home, Camilla was already engaged to her now-ex husband Andrew Parker Bowles.

However, they never stopped being close. Even when Charles married Diana, he and Camilla were in touch.

Royal author Penny Junior claimed that Charles was aware he wasn’t in love with his future wife Diana, but it was already too late for him to call off the wedding.

“Charles was not convinced he was doing the right thing in marrying Diana but there was no way out and, bolstered by the hope that things would be different once they were married, he put a brave face on it,” she wrote, as reported by the Mirror.

What’s most, Camilla and Diana knew each other and got along, but then things changed.

“I met [Camilla] very early on. I was introduced to the circle, but I was a threat, I was a very young girl, but I was a threat,” Diana explained in the book Diana: In Her Own Words.

Shutterstock/ITS

The love affair between Charles and Camilla started in 1986, according to Prince Charles’ authorized biography, as quoted by Town & Country. At the time, Charles was still married to Princess Diana and she eventually became aware that her husband was cheating on her.

Diana even confronted Camilla once, but nothing changed.

Speaking of the troubles in her marriage and the reasons for its failure, Diana told Martin Bashir during a televised interview, “Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.”

Charles and Diana separated in 1992 and their divorce was finalized four years later.

Youtube/The Royal Family Channel

Mere months after the separation was formalized, the press leaked a transcript of a conversation between Charles and Camilla. It revealed intimate and sexual exchange between the two.

Before it was published in details, the paper put a headline which read, “Charles’s Secret Bedtime Phone Call.”

The intimate conversation was dubbed “Tampongate” because it included a tampon reference.

Fast forward to this very day, Charles is the King of Britain and Camilla is Queen Consort.

Over the years, the people of Britain learned to love Camilla and her reputation has been growing. The two are now the head of the country and are still happily married but there was a time when Camilla was afraid to leave her home because she was afraid of the backlash of the public following the revelation of her affair.

Anwar Hussein Collection/ROTA/WireImage

Speaking to OK Magazine, royal expert Angela Levin, author of the 2022 book Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall: A Royal Survivor, revealed that Camilla had to endure “torrents” of mistreatment from the public as the affair was revealed. She didn’t even go to stores but had her friends running her errands for her.

“It was very difficult for her, as she was portrayed as the most wicked woman in the world. She was constantly called nasty names like ‘rottweiler,’ and it must have come as a huge shock that people were so vile about her,” Levin said.

In order to protect her, it was revealed that Charles paid for Camilla’s security for years, or until 2005 when the two tied the knot. “I don’t think Charles realised how awful it was for her. He was often away on engagements and working hard for the country and Commonwealth, and at the time, Camilla didn’t have protection officers because she wasn’t part of the Royal Family. But when Charles finally realised, he did get protection for her, which he paid for himself,” Levine revealed.

“She still gets nervous about things,” Levin said, adding that Camilla will “probably be anxious” about Charles’ coronation because “she can never be sure how people are going to react towards her.”

“There’s a small but very harsh group of people who still think she’s the wrong woman for him.”

Prince Charles’ coronation is expected to take place on May 6, 2023.
